Islanders Draft Bobby Cowan in 2026
The New York Islanders close out their 2026 draft with a steal: 20-year-old winger Bobby Cowan from Western Michigan. After going undrafted last year, Cowan finally gets his NHL call, bringing speed, grit, and 51 points from his USHL season. Seen as a reliable bottom-six contributor, he’s the perfect fit for GM Mathieu Darche’s strategy of building with well-rounded talent. This pick caps off a draft class that includes Malte Gustafsson, Lincoln Kuehne, Vladimir Dravecky, and Artyom Matyuk — a mix of depth and potential for the Islanders’ future.
