Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, we are finally in the semi finals
- 0:03Speaker 1: of this game. We got two games left, Miami versus
- 0:06Speaker 1: Old Miss who would have thunk it? Oregon versus Indiana,
- 0:09Speaker 1: a remiss that took place in the Bake ten earlier
- 0:11Speaker 1: this year. Now let's go to the standings. There's only
- 0:14Speaker 1: two games left, and now there's only two individuals left.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Will Compton has been mathematically eliminated for holding the prize
- 0:21Speaker 1: of the one spot in this show. It is just
- 0:24Speaker 1: down to me and Josh Pate, separated by one game.
- 0:27Speaker 1: We had a lot taking place Nebraska just last night.
- 0:31Speaker 1: We're filming this Tuesday morning. Just last night they had
- 0:33Speaker 1: a quarterback and that they do not have a quarterback.
- 0:35Speaker 1: There's transfer portal stuff going on everywhere. Josh paid is here,
- 0:38Speaker 1: Will Compton is here to break down his emotions and everything.

- 1:48Speaker 1: There's a fandol dot com slash busting to get started.
- 1:52Speaker 1: There's a there's a lot to talk about on the show.
- 1:54Speaker 6: I've never walked in the room with more to talk
- 1:56Speaker 6: about that I have today.
- 1:57Speaker 1: There is I know that like a lot of this
- 2:00Speaker 1: revolves around this man sitting between the main character.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Yeah he is the main character.
- 2:04Speaker 3: No, no, no, that's about the four teams we've got in
- 2:06Speaker 3: the college who will playoff. They don't want to take
- 2:07Speaker 3: away from their stories.
- 2:08Speaker 6: It's about the kids.
- 2:09Speaker 3: It's about the kids. It's about the kids.
- 2:10Speaker 5: Also about the kids, about the kids.
- 2:12Speaker 1: The kids have let you down. In the words of
- 2:14Speaker 1: Josh Paid, you weren't wrong. They were wrong, but you were.
- 2:16Speaker 1: They were wrong enough to where you are mathematically eliminated
- 2:19Speaker 1: from them.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I went one in three last week. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 2:23Speaker 3: break that down for me.
- 2:24Speaker 1: You picked four games, one of us correct, but Alabama
- 2:31Speaker 1: got blown out. Alabama got blown out, and by all
- 2:34Speaker 1: the truth, I went three and one.
- 2:36Speaker 6: What are you looking at me?
- 2:37Speaker 3: For you?
- 2:38Speaker 1: I've never seen you so strong in a game. And
- 2:40Speaker 1: by the way, great pivot, because now I'm off of you.
- 2:42Speaker 6: On him Alabama plus seven and a half sitting right
- 2:45Speaker 6: here looking at me.
- 2:47Speaker 3: That was easy work, man.
- 2:49Speaker 6: This was your opening ad copy. Could you read the
- 2:52Speaker 6: words I point.
- 2:52Speaker 3: To Gambling is for entertainment.
- 2:56Speaker 6: I was not entertained. Was not entertained during the Rose Bowl?
- 3:01Speaker 5: Hey it was entertaining?
- 3:03Speaker 3: How peak? What's that postgame video?
- 3:10Speaker 4: In my personal experience, maybe Taylor has a different experience.
- 3:16Speaker 4: I've never seen you feel more confident about an Alabama
- 3:18Speaker 4: team in a game, even though.
- 3:20Speaker 5: They gave you.
- 3:21Speaker 3: They gave you the resume there at the end of
- 3:23Speaker 3: the year.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Since we've known you for somebody saying that you've always
- 3:27Speaker 1: done a great job. And we've said early in the year,
- 3:28Speaker 1: we said Millaneer, we said late in the year, something
- 3:30Speaker 1: about Josh Payty's bulletproof. He always has a way of
- 3:33Speaker 1: even when he's wrong, he seems right like he has
- 3:35Speaker 1: a way of like even when the shrapnel and everything's
- 3:37Speaker 1: coming at him, it doesn't it doesn't affect him. This
- 3:40Speaker 1: is the only time you've laid your neck out on
- 3:42Speaker 1: the line only to be placed in a guilla team
- 3:45Speaker 1: and he fucking chopped off.
- 3:47Speaker 6: I'm looking up at my own body.
- 3:48Speaker 1: You're looking up, you are floating away towards the sky
- 3:52Speaker 1: and looking at what you've displayed for yourself. And you
- 3:54Speaker 1: chose an Alabama team that came against it came back
- 3:56Speaker 1: against Oklahoma, and that was good enough for you to
- 3:59Speaker 1: ignore the see championship. That was good enough they came
- 4:03Speaker 1: back against Oklahoma, and you're like, that's enough for me
- 4:07Speaker 1: to get my home or brain to finally be like, hey,
- 4:10Speaker 1: Alabama is a beating Indiana.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Taylor, But did they come back against Oklahoma or did
- 4:13Speaker 4: Oklahoma knna I think Oklahoma Conna.
- 4:20Speaker 6: In my defense, there is no defending me. I tried
- 4:24Speaker 6: to get skinny and I couldn't on this one. I
- 4:26Speaker 6: didn't say the kids screwed up. I just you know,
- 4:29Speaker 6: I lost the game. But we were really really emphatic.
- 4:33Speaker 6: Excuse me, I was really emphatic about that last week,
- 4:35Speaker 6: and we made the whole social reel like it went
- 4:37Speaker 6: out there tagged Ty Simpson, by the way, really silent
- 4:40Speaker 6: when they lose a game, Ty.
- 4:42Speaker 5: Simpson, you got to live and die by the sword
- 4:44Speaker 5: that with age.
- 4:45Speaker 6: Yeah, you have his back and they get blown out.
- 4:47Speaker 6: I got I got nothing. I'm just left standing here
- 4:49Speaker 6: holding the back transparent.
- 4:52Speaker 1: I'm kind of picking Indiana, knowing Ty is gonna see
- 4:55Speaker 1: it be like this is you guys.
- 4:56Speaker 5: You wanted this like you wanted the wolf the whole thing.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Give him the fodder, give him the motivation. He looks
- 5:01Speaker 1: at and he goes good. The boys have my back.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Without having my back.
- 5:04Speaker 4: You hated going three and one.
- 5:08Speaker 5: I would have much rather gone too. And two.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yeah, much rather gone. So you and I are sitting
- 5:12Speaker 1: there in the semis evened up.
- 5:16Speaker 6: I like to think that at the end of that game,
- 5:19Speaker 6: which was about five and changed to go in the
- 5:22Speaker 6: first half, as it turns out. But I like to
- 5:24Speaker 6: think at the end of that game, those kids are
- 5:25Speaker 6: on that bus ride home, Kaitlyn divores, on that bus
- 5:28Speaker 6: ride home, that staffs on that bus ride home, somewhere
- 5:30Speaker 6: in the back of their minds, not only did they
- 5:32Speaker 6: let down their families, their teammates, their staff, their university,
- 5:36Speaker 6: their conference, they let me down to this is pretty historic.
- 5:43Speaker 5: They didn't let you down. They let your wife down.
- 5:46Speaker 6: They let my father down.
- 5:47Speaker 5: They let your father down.
- 5:48Speaker 6: That's who they really let me.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Who calls it like it is, calls it like he
- 5:51Speaker 1: sees it. First time I met him, he looked me
- 5:53Speaker 1: in the eyes, he goes, you're the dirtiest player, dirtiest son,
- 5:55Speaker 1: bitch I've ever.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Seen play football.
- 5:57Speaker 6: And you didn't disagree.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And my heart sang to me, that's a massive compliment
- 6:01Speaker 1: as an offense blindman, like you want to have a
- 6:03Speaker 1: scumbag mentality And he said it right to my right,
- 6:06Speaker 1: to my face. A lot of people would say behind
- 6:07Speaker 1: my back, not knowing that would take as he looked
- 6:09Speaker 1: me in the eyes. But he's a role tide guy
- 6:11Speaker 1: all the way, all the way. Do you think your
- 6:15Speaker 1: judgment got messed up with your family.
- 6:19Speaker 6: No, no, but I will say he was blinded by bias.
- 6:23Speaker 6: I was blinded by wanting to be right in the preseason.
- 6:26Speaker 6: In the preseason, I wanted to be right. I did
- 6:28Speaker 6: pick by him in the preseason. I picked Oregon in
- 6:30Speaker 6: the preseason. They're still alive. I have long since bailed
- 6:32Speaker 6: on both of those predictions, so I wasn't really so
- 6:34Speaker 6: much worried about that. I think maybe there was a
- 6:37Speaker 6: part of me, way way way back in the back
- 6:38Speaker 6: of my mind that just still needed to see Indiana
- 6:40Speaker 6: win as a big favorite in one of these games,
- 6:43Speaker 6: like the long rest thing. Everyone else with the Buys losing,
- 6:46Speaker 6: they won. So I never had Kurt Signidia on the show.
- 6:50Speaker 6: Has he ever come on this show? Has he ever
- 6:51Speaker 6: come on bussing?
- 6:52Speaker 1: I think he actually declined us right the end of
- 6:55Speaker 1: the year to the end of the year. But we're
- 6:57Speaker 1: going to keep We'll get big, we'll get big nen on.
- 7:00Speaker 1: But like right now, we're oh for one, but baseball that.
- 7:04Speaker 6: Happens, yep. So we're sitting around now and you gotta wonder, like,
- 7:09Speaker 6: do they change coaching staff, do they change strength staff,
- 7:14Speaker 6: what are they going to do in the portal, who's leaving,
- 7:16Speaker 6: who's staying? All this stuff. We gotta we got to regroup.
- 7:20Speaker 6: Me and me and me and Dan Pate. We got
- 7:22Speaker 6: some things to talk about.
- 7:23Speaker 5: Alabama.
- 7:25Speaker 1: There's rumblings in this in behind the scenes about what
- 7:27Speaker 1: might be happening in the transl portal of Alabama.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Are you hearing anything out there?
- 7:30Speaker 6: I'm hearing stuff with everybody.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I gotta hy Simpson. I'm hearing there's a wolf looking
- 7:35Speaker 1: for a new pack. That's what that's all I'm then
- 7:38Speaker 1: it's just whispers. I haven't spoke to the young man,
- 7:41Speaker 1: the young wolf. There's just a couple of whispers. I
- 7:43Speaker 1: just want to know if you've heard those whispers as well.
- 7:46Speaker 6: I think Keeland Russell starting a quarterback for Alabama next year,
- 7:49Speaker 6: so that's what I think. But that may mean Ty
- 7:51Speaker 6: Simpson's gone to the NFL. Like I still think that's
- 7:54Speaker 6: what's gonna end up happening with him. But I don't know, man,
- 7:57Speaker 6: because I don't I've learned a long time ago. Guys
- 8:00Speaker 6: can be telling you, oh, I'm either coming back or
- 8:02Speaker 6: I'm going to the NFL. Boom. They're in the portal.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Twenty four hours later, so I mean to answer your
- 8:07Speaker 6: to my question. I've heard the same rumors you have,
- 8:09Speaker 6: I can't substantiate them, and frankly, with the portal, all
- 8:12Speaker 6: I choose to do is stay out of it, and
- 8:14Speaker 6: I'll text Pete Nakos if I really want to know
- 8:16Speaker 6: if something's legit, or I'll hit up a coach if
- 8:19Speaker 6: i really want to know something's legit, or I'll get
- 8:21Speaker 6: a call from Will in the middle of the night
- 8:22Speaker 6: if something's happened to we Nebraska, which brings me to
- 8:25Speaker 6: my next point.
- 8:26Speaker 4: We interrupt this episode because we are brought to you
- 8:28Speaker 4: by Jim Beam. This postseason is uponse and there's nothing
- 8:31Speaker 4: like it but the postseason, Taylor, as you know, can
- 8:34Speaker 4: be stressful.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Crushing losses, wild upsets, your unhinged six game parlay, falling
- 8:38Speaker 1: apart the literal last second. Things can get rough and
- 8:41Speaker 1: can leave you feeling a little bit sour.
- 8:43Speaker 4: But look on the bright side, once your team is
- 8:44Speaker 4: out and headed to decompress, you can finally relax, and
- 8:47Speaker 4: now you can actually enjoy the postseason with all the
- 8:50Speaker 4: heart palpitations, without the heart palputations.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Without all the heart palpitations.
- 8:54Speaker 1: That's our partnering with Jim Beam. We want to help
- 8:56Speaker 1: you turn that lemit of a loss into delicious, tasty
- 8:59Speaker 1: Jim Beam and Lemonade.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Because it's really the perfect bevy for the offseason. It's refreshing,
- 9:04Speaker 4: it's got that perfect sweetness and a little bit of
- 9:06Speaker 4: tang on your tongue, and it's best pairs stress free
- 9:08Speaker 4: watching when your team is out.
- 9:10Speaker 1: So together the boys grab some gim Beam and Lemonade
- 9:12Speaker 1: and to make the rest of the postseason just a
- 9:14Speaker 1: little bit sweeter. Refresh your season with Jim Beam and Lemonade,
- 9:18Speaker 1: best enjoyed together.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Please drink responsibly. Jim Beam, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey forty
- 9:23Speaker 4: percent alcohol by volume, twenty twenty five, James B. Beam
- 9:28Speaker 4: Distilling Company, Clermont, Kentucky. Oh, you're sitting there, sitting there preaching.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I'm thinking, I got it. I'm done with this fucking portal.
- 9:38Speaker 5: Can we just done?
- 9:39Speaker 6: We paint a picture if you'll allow me to lay
- 9:41Speaker 6: out a timeline and then I'll toss it to you
- 9:44Speaker 6: and then you finish the picture, Like, can we co
- 9:45Speaker 6: paint the picture?
- 9:46Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 9:46Speaker 6: Absolutely, all right. The date is Conference Championship weekend. We're
- 9:52Speaker 6: going to do the altcast big day, career day for us.
- 9:55Speaker 6: It's Alabama Georgia. It's going to be a back and
- 9:57Speaker 6: forth game, and it's not. It's a blowout. And we
- 9:59Speaker 6: spend the the entirety of the second half of that
- 10:01Speaker 6: game holding ESPN microphones in our hand, not talking about
- 10:04Speaker 6: the action on the field, but talking about whether Alabama
- 10:07Speaker 6: belongs in the playoff or not. Some people think they
- 10:10Speaker 6: should be in, other people think they shouldn't be in.
- 10:13Speaker 6: William is in the latter camp. He thinks that Notre
- 10:16Speaker 6: Dame should be in, and the only thing that's going
- 10:17Speaker 6: to keep them out is the college football deep state.
- 10:20Speaker 6: Fast forward twenty four hours, the College FOOTBA Playoff Committee
- 10:23Speaker 6: reveals their correct rankings and their correct seting. I will
- 10:26Speaker 6: still stand behind that Notre Dame is left out, and
- 10:30Speaker 6: Lou Holtz is upset, and everyone in South Bend, Indiana
- 10:34Speaker 6: is upset, and will Compton is really upset, and he
- 10:37Speaker 6: goes on a Twitter rampage about how the college football
- 10:40Speaker 6: deep state has worked to collude against Notre Dame, and
- 10:44Speaker 6: to his credit, even though he was incorrect about it,
- 10:47Speaker 6: he stood behind his argument even through the playoffs, even
- 10:51Speaker 6: when Alabama was being eliminated. The other day emphatically. It
- 10:55Speaker 6: was a see I told you so moment. It was
- 10:56Speaker 6: a big moment for you guys. And so after everything
- 11:00Speaker 6: that he's done for Notre Dame, the dust clears and
- 11:04Speaker 6: the portal opens, Nebraska needs a quarterback at that point,
- 11:08Speaker 6: after Will Compton has laid his life on the line
- 11:11Speaker 6: for Notre Dame, let's talk about what's happening in the
- 11:15Speaker 6: port Yeah.
- 11:16Speaker 5: First off, that was a van go painting.
- 11:18Speaker 1: That was where Jackson Pollock it and say it always
- 11:21Speaker 1: comes back to Notre Dame with Will company, and this
- 11:24Speaker 1: time it's bit him in the ass. Your loyalty got
- 11:26Speaker 1: you killed.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Everything I've done for that program.
- 11:28Speaker 1: This is on the day, on the day of January fifth.
- 11:33Speaker 5: This is how they do it to you.
- 11:35Speaker 1: What is talk Talk to me as much as you
- 11:37Speaker 1: can because I know you're in the weeds in Nebraska. Yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 1: you've got every coach in GM and AD on speed dial.
- 11:44Speaker 1: I'm sure you know a lot more than you're willing
- 11:46Speaker 1: to say on the show. So I'm just gonna give
- 11:47Speaker 1: you the floor.
- 11:48Speaker 5: We'll sit back and just I want you to replay
- 11:51Speaker 5: your emotions for me.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Monday we leave the office. Yeah, great day, we leave
- 11:56Speaker 1: the office. I'm I'm having dinner, wife and kids.
- 12:01Speaker 4: You know, chaos is thinking players were trying to get
- 12:03Speaker 4: Rudy eats got he's being funny. He's slamming stuff on
- 12:05Speaker 4: the ground, throwing food on the floor. Phone buzzes buzz
- 12:10Speaker 4: a couple of times.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Know what's going on?
- 12:12Speaker 4: I see, I see uh, a Nebraska name come across
- 12:18Speaker 4: my phone. I look at the Nebraska name and apparently
- 12:23Speaker 4: we're losing the quarterback that had just committed to us
- 12:28Speaker 4: on Friday. When the portal opened, there was a non
- 12:30Speaker 4: contact claws that are non contact status that kind of
- 12:35Speaker 4: came with this portal opening of this player, Kenny Mitchie,
- 12:38Speaker 4: the quarterback for Notre Dame, who's a who's a backup
- 12:41Speaker 4: to CJ.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Car big name in the portal.
- 12:43Speaker 4: You're hearing a lot about him, how he's you know,
- 12:45Speaker 4: he can win on the he can win with his legs,
- 12:47Speaker 4: he can win with his arm, a lot of good things.
- 12:49Speaker 3: This was Nebraska's number one target. So portal opens.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Up non contact status, meaning what that usually means in
- 12:57Speaker 4: this college football world because there is no tampering period
- 13:00Speaker 4: or anything else. But usually when somebody comes with that,
- 13:01Speaker 4: they're close to a school, and I had learned that
- 13:05Speaker 4: we were close to landing Kenny Minchie.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Go ahead.
- 13:08Speaker 5: Non contact just means that don't contact him, contact the agent.
- 13:11Speaker 6: I'm going in the portal. If I have a non
- 13:14Speaker 6: contact tag, that's translation for I already know where I'm going,
- 13:18Speaker 6: do not call me. Got you, That's what that means.
- 13:20Speaker 6: I understood. Ninety nine times out of one hundred. We
- 13:22Speaker 6: continue with the one time out of one hundred story.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Yes, and then over the weekend Kenny Minchie. We land
- 13:29Speaker 4: Kenny Minchie in the portal. He's coming to the breast.
- 13:31Speaker 4: He's committed, big announcement, graphics and everything. Maybe maybe NACo's
- 13:35Speaker 4: I know on three posts about it, but it's public
- 13:37Speaker 4: knowledge now that Kenny Mitchie is coming to What's up?
- 13:42Speaker 6: You posted a graphic.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Yeah, you're coming Kenny Mitchie to the Big Red even
- 13:48Speaker 4: Jock Kenny minsche at text You're gonna look fucking great
- 13:50Speaker 4: and Red.
- 13:50Speaker 5: Got his number already.
- 13:52Speaker 4: No response that now, looking back hindsight, that should have
- 13:55Speaker 4: been a red flag for a week Willie boy. Yeah,
- 13:59Speaker 4: So the weekend, Oh's and everything set up. We got
- 14:02Speaker 4: our quarterback. He is committed to the University of Nebraska.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Just pen has not been put to paper yet. Formality formality,
- 14:09Speaker 4: which again understand all that stuff. When we were in
- 14:11Speaker 4: the game, it was verbal committed. Once you signed the
- 14:14Speaker 4: dad line, that's when you actually have them. So Monday
- 14:17Speaker 4: night rolls around and I get these texts and We're
- 14:18Speaker 4: losing the quarterback and I'm learning about what went down.
- 14:21Speaker 4: To my knowledge, what I understand the situation to be
- 14:25Speaker 4: was that Nebraska was told all weekend that he's committed.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Because on Nebraska side of it, they are pushing and
- 14:32Speaker 4: following up, not pressuring, but following up.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Hey, where's Ken he at with the contract?
- 14:36Speaker 4: Like we got the contract to you on Friday morning
- 14:38Speaker 4: when the portal opened up. We need him to sign
- 14:40Speaker 4: that contract because you know, coach ruled the big the
- 14:43Speaker 4: big man are like, hey, when is the quarterback?
- 14:44Speaker 3: When are we getting pin to paper? Go ahead?
- 14:48Speaker 1: Before you knew that the result that we know now happened.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Were you aware that this pen to paper thing was
- 14:53Speaker 1: going to be an issue was being an issue? You
- 14:56Speaker 1: just thought we got our guys.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Yeah, businesses still taking place.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Again, I'm not as tied into the portal stuff like
- 15:03Speaker 4: you know, like like Pate was talking about, I'm not
- 15:05Speaker 4: like deep in the weeds on everything that's happened in
- 15:07Speaker 4: the portal. I might see guys names come up, I
- 15:09Speaker 4: might see lists happening. I might shoot a text, Hey,
- 15:11Speaker 4: what quarterbacks are we actually looking at? Let me know
- 15:13Speaker 4: if you need any help with anything. But so I'm
- 15:16Speaker 4: just thinking it's all, you know, business related stuff. He's
- 15:18Speaker 4: going to sign the contract. He's supposed to visit on Wednesday,
- 15:21Speaker 4: and to my knowledge again, he not only wanted to
- 15:23Speaker 4: come and visit on Wednesday, but stay in Nebraska and
- 15:25Speaker 4: help recruit the rest of the portal. All this free
- 15:28Speaker 4: agency that's going on with five thousand guys in the
- 15:30Speaker 4: transfer and we get to you get up to last night,
- 15:36Speaker 4: and again, from what I understand it to be, the
- 15:40Speaker 4: agent was telling Nebraska all weekend long. We're just going
- 15:43Speaker 4: through the contract. Everything is all good. He's committed. He's
- 15:46Speaker 4: coming to Nebraska. I have a lot of clients right now.
- 15:50Speaker 4: I'm dealing with a lot of transfer portal stuff. But
- 15:53Speaker 4: Kenny Minchee is coming to Nebraska.
- 15:56Speaker 6: Question, you're watching Titanic right now? Yeah, it just hit
- 15:59Speaker 6: the ice, but everyone thinks it's okay, and they're going
- 16:02Speaker 6: back to sleep and they're kicking around the iceberg on
- 16:04Speaker 6: the deck and everyone's still laughing. But what they don't
- 16:08Speaker 6: know is they're dying and they'll be at the bottom
- 16:10Speaker 6: of the Atlantic in two hours. As it turns out,
- 16:13Speaker 6: that's the part of the movie we're at right now.
- 16:15Speaker 1: And also just to point out, because I love the
- 16:16Speaker 1: movie Titanic. While this is going on, Jack and Rose
- 16:19Speaker 1: are on the bottom deck in a car, Jack being Minshi,
- 16:23Speaker 1: the Rose being Kentucky, and they're making love right now.
- 16:26Speaker 1: He is this, this is the fiance.
- 16:30Speaker 4: So as it unfolds on Monday, Nebraska again.
- 16:35Speaker 6: Follows up, can't disagree, go ahead play?
- 16:39Speaker 4: Nebraska again follows up, where are we at with the contract?
- 16:43Speaker 3: Pin the paper? When is it happening? I'm still redlining
- 16:46Speaker 3: everything again, busy season with clients, stall tactic.
- 16:50Speaker 4: The next phone call that takes place, to my knowledge,
- 16:53Speaker 4: is that Nebraska gets called Kenny's going to Kentucky. He
- 16:58Speaker 4: did not know Kenny was going to do that, And
- 17:00Speaker 4: that was the last bone call Asient never called coach rule,
- 17:03Speaker 4: He never called coach rule back, and that was basically
- 17:05Speaker 4: what happened. Nebraska couldn't get back in the conversation, trying
- 17:09Speaker 4: to figure out hey, can we counter you know, what's.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Going like, what what has happened? It's like, hey, he's
- 17:14Speaker 3: going to Kentucky.
- 17:15Speaker 4: So essentially you see it as we got blank checked
- 17:17Speaker 4: by Kentucky, we got out bid by Kentucky, but we
- 17:20Speaker 4: were never able to get back in the ring of Kentucky.
- 17:22Speaker 4: So I'm sitting there taking all of this stuff in.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Josh paid alludes to it. I call him and what's
- 17:27Speaker 4: going on? I was like, I'm standing in my bedroom
- 17:30Speaker 4: right now. All of the lights are off.
- 17:32Speaker 6: That's when you said the dinner table eating you paused there,
- 17:36Speaker 6: and I thought you were in trouble. I thought there
- 17:38Speaker 6: was an actual medical situation or perhaps like a home
- 17:42Speaker 6: invasion situation, because you just said we got big issues.
- 17:47Speaker 6: I'm standing here, my family's downstairs, I'm staring out at
- 17:49Speaker 6: the front yard. All the lights are out. Then it
- 17:53Speaker 6: just sizzled and I said, do you need something like
- 17:56Speaker 6: what's going on? And there may have been some other
- 17:58Speaker 6: mentions that I don't think legally we can say on it,
- 18:00Speaker 6: But then you let me know kids weren't in danger,
- 18:04Speaker 6: wife wasn't in danger, home wasn't being invaded. It was
- 18:07Speaker 6: actually something much worse than that.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Can you mention that agent fuck Nebraska.
- 18:13Speaker 1: This type of stuff happened when you and I were
- 18:15Speaker 1: coming out of high school before an il, before those
- 18:17Speaker 1: things where guys are committed, they're fully in it, day
- 18:20Speaker 1: of letter of intent happens they decided to flip their
- 18:22Speaker 1: commitment at the last second. Yeah, that does happen.
- 18:25Speaker 6: So here's yes, that happened. There's a little bit of it.
- 18:28Speaker 6: There's a lot of difference in the structure of how
- 18:30Speaker 6: things are set up now because you've back then. Yeah,
- 18:33Speaker 6: you were paying guys under the table. There was no
- 18:35Speaker 6: like payroll, there's no budget, there was no set cap,
- 18:39Speaker 6: and some people still laugh at the concept of a
- 18:40Speaker 6: cap in college football, but technically it exists. But the
- 18:43Speaker 6: bigger picture thing is people need to understand the way
- 18:46Speaker 6: college football roster construction works. Right now, there is no
- 18:49Speaker 6: more portal after spring. This is it. So you just
- 18:52Speaker 6: had your signing class and you've got your portal class
- 18:54Speaker 6: right now, and what is it like the sixteenth of January. Yep,
- 18:58Speaker 6: once kids are in that's the dead line. You got
- 19:01Speaker 6: to have your roster set for this year. And this dude,
- 19:04Speaker 6: slash his representation, slash his camp just took what seventy
- 19:09Speaker 6: two or ninety six hours from Matt Rule in Nebraska,
- 19:13Speaker 6: where they thought they had quarterback figured out and they'd
- 19:16Speaker 6: allocated the money the resources to that position. That then
- 19:20Speaker 6: the rug gets jerked out from under you, and so
- 19:23Speaker 6: you got to go back to square one on the
- 19:25Speaker 6: most important position on the field, and you just you
- 19:28Speaker 6: may have seen other guys come off the board that
- 19:30Speaker 6: you would have had a shot at in those ninety
- 19:32Speaker 6: six hours because you took someone at their word. Yeah,
- 19:36Speaker 6: so yeah, it's not a good deal.
- 19:37Speaker 7: He had a no contact tag too. So that's the
- 19:40Speaker 7: other thing is Nebraska is sitting there not thinking anyone
- 19:43Speaker 7: else is talking to him. He's committed to Nebraska, No
- 19:46Speaker 7: one should be contacting him. He there that camp is
- 19:49Speaker 7: reaching out to Kentucky. Kentucky's not reaching out to them.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Mind saying of the no contact tag, because when I
- 19:56Speaker 1: first saw it, think.
- 19:56Speaker 3: We hey, guys, we all know that stuff's bullshit.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Yes, hold on, let's my understanding of the no contact
- 20:01Speaker 1: tag is do not contact me personally, contact my agent.
- 20:04Speaker 6: No, it's just don't contact. But it's really just a tag.
- 20:08Speaker 6: There's nothing legally, it's not bound by rule. What clumps
- 20:11Speaker 6: say and what is right is that's the equivalent of like,
- 20:14Speaker 6: if I'm at the end of a dead end road
- 20:17Speaker 6: and there's only one road, there's no side roads off
- 20:20Speaker 6: this main road, and I get word that, hey, you've
- 20:22Speaker 6: turned down this road. There's only one place you could
- 20:24Speaker 6: be coming, and that is to me at the end
- 20:26Speaker 6: of the road. That's the do not contact tag. The
- 20:28Speaker 6: do not contact tag is once the kid goes in
- 20:30Speaker 6: the portal, he's got do not contact, and you've been
- 20:33Speaker 6: given word through him or his representation he's coming to you.
- 20:37Speaker 6: You view it as just a formality. You're like, you're
- 20:39Speaker 6: letting the boosters know, You're letting your staff know, Hey,
- 20:41Speaker 6: we got him. We'll see when he makes the announcement. Oh,
- 20:43Speaker 6: by the way, then the announcement happens, and so then
- 20:46Speaker 6: you're doubly told you we got him. It is so
- 20:48Speaker 6: far in the back of your mind that that could
- 20:50Speaker 6: go wrong at that point that it's not even a concern.
- 20:53Speaker 6: So that had to be a bombshell for them in
- 20:54Speaker 6: that building.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Bombshell.
- 20:56Speaker 1: And I think like obviously over the weekend, there was
- 20:58Speaker 1: a handful of more quarterbacks that were in that top
- 21:01Speaker 1: five the ten range that committed to another score transfer school.
- 21:04Speaker 1: When I got the information from you, I went on
- 21:08Speaker 1: the transfer portal just to look at how people are
- 21:10Speaker 1: evaluating quarterbacks. Went to the quarterback section, scrolled through, saw
- 21:14Speaker 1: our boy Soresby Texas Tech Levitt looks like he's going
- 21:16Speaker 1: to LSU.
- 21:17Speaker 6: Correct, that's what I heard.
- 21:18Speaker 1: It seems like it seems like he was in the
- 21:20Speaker 1: running four, which tells you that Sam Levit is not
- 21:22Speaker 1: going to go to l s U. Because this Minshi
- 21:24Speaker 1: kid can tell you must have heard from a good
- 21:26Speaker 1: agent that he's not gonna go to Kentucky.
- 21:27Speaker 5: He's going to LSU or somewhere else.
- 21:30Speaker 1: So I start scrolling down and I'm seeing this person's
- 21:32Speaker 1: transferring here, this person transferring here the first and highest
- 21:35Speaker 1: available spot.
- 21:36Speaker 5: I saw Dylan Riola.
- 21:41Speaker 1: You think do you think at number seven maybe something
- 21:45Speaker 1: Delan Roola transfers too.
- 21:47Speaker 5: There was a blank space and it was the only one.
- 21:48Speaker 6: I think.
- 21:49Speaker 1: It was like two guys within the top ten quarterbacks.
- 21:51Speaker 1: And I'm like, hey, maybe you have to maybe.
- 21:53Speaker 8: You have to go back to what Maybe maybe I
- 21:57Speaker 8: need to refollow Dylan on Instagram. Now, hey about all
- 22:03Speaker 8: that stuff I said. This is Adam Saylor.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Baby, I'm sorry, I didn't me.
- 22:11Speaker 4: I know there's lists you're scrolling to see what optimism
- 22:15Speaker 4: there could be with Nebraska. Like I obviously I want
- 22:18Speaker 4: us to be a good football.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Team, right, But I'm doing You're on the phone with
- 22:21Speaker 1: a bunch of Michigan people, and you're every time I
- 22:24Speaker 1: see a wide receiver enter the portal, let me see
- 22:26Speaker 1: these stats?
- 22:27Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, what do you say about this guy?
- 22:29Speaker 5: What do you think about that guy?
- 22:30Speaker 4: But I'm also trying to talk about in a way
- 22:32Speaker 4: to where I'm I'm separating myself from like, again, I
- 22:35Speaker 4: want Nebraska to win. I want us to get all
- 22:37Speaker 4: the best players in the portal. You wrong us, I'm
- 22:39Speaker 4: coming after you, right, But just something that's just it's
- 22:42Speaker 4: it's always bothered me. I know it's always going to
- 22:44Speaker 4: continue to happen. Just I just feel like it's a
- 22:48Speaker 4: it's like a lost cause.
- 22:50Speaker 6: This time last year, in one of these games that
- 22:53Speaker 6: we're gonna break down Ole Miss Miami, Ole Miss will
- 22:56Speaker 6: start a quarterback that was at Ferris State or Ago two.
- 23:02Speaker 6: Don't don't let anyone tell you there aren't better options
- 23:05Speaker 6: out there for Nebraska.
- 23:07Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Hey that's beautiful.
- 23:10Speaker 1: And you so there's two things you've done. Beautiful that
- 23:13Speaker 1: and allowing us to get away from me. How hard
- 23:16Speaker 1: you are on Alabama.
- 23:18Speaker 6: We pivoted.
- 23:19Speaker 1: That was wildly impressive because you deserve a lot more
- 23:23Speaker 1: talking to about what took place last week.
- 23:25Speaker 6: I'm not about getting what I deserve. I'm about getting
- 23:27Speaker 6: what I want.
- 23:28Speaker 5: Yeah, and that is completely fair.
- 23:30Speaker 4: We get in a Fiesta Ball. We interrupt this episode
- 23:33Speaker 4: to bring you Form Energy. Form Energy delivers best in
- 23:35Speaker 4: class tastes with natural flavors and zero sugar. Form Energy
- 23:38Speaker 4: has natural caffeine derived from green tea and comes in
- 23:41Speaker 4: a variety of flavors like Screaming Freedom, grape Smash, blue Blitz,
- 23:44Speaker 4: Orange Fury. And it's perfect for those who put in
- 23:47Speaker 4: the work. So if you're a person who wakes up
- 23:48Speaker 4: in the morning, gets a work out in, puts in
- 23:50Speaker 4: a full day of work, and still gives it their
- 23:51Speaker 4: all when they come home, you are a Form Energy guy.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Form Energy we do the work. Back to the.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Episode, the Fiesta Bowl is taking place. We got number
- 24:01Speaker 1: ten Miami, who what a THUNKSTI who stood an stood
- 24:06Speaker 1: an Will said the Miami shouldn't be in this team.
- 24:08Speaker 5: I shouldn't be he.
- 24:11Speaker 6: Said Kenny Minsch in Notre Dame should have been in there.
- 24:13Speaker 5: Back up, that's right, you wanted Kenny Minsche in the playoffs?
- 24:16Speaker 3: What did I What did I say on Yeah?
- 24:20Speaker 4: And also Miami? What what did I say on the broadcast?
- 24:23Speaker 4: The ass whooping was happening? Alabama should not be in
- 24:27Speaker 4: the College Wall playoff. Put Notre Dame in Miami in
- 24:30Speaker 4: the College Old playoffs. When I posted before the College
- 24:32Speaker 4: Faall playoff rankings came out, I had a here's what
- 24:35Speaker 4: I think they're gonna do. Here's what I wish would happen.
- 24:38Speaker 4: And nine, nine, and ten were Miami and Notre Dame,
- 24:41Speaker 4: and eleven and twelve were Alabama and BYU.
- 24:44Speaker 3: So you say what you want.
- 24:45Speaker 4: I never said that Miami wouldn't belong when I argued
- 24:48Speaker 4: Miami being out.
- 24:49Speaker 3: It was when the argument was just out of Notre
- 24:51Speaker 3: Dame in Miami.
- 24:52Speaker 6: Crazy, just go lose to Louisville and move to SMU whatever.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Miami, Miami's I ain't beat no House by tena
- 25:00Speaker 1: just Miami, Miami's favor and a half, Miami's favorite three
- 25:05Speaker 1: and a half toorpoints.
- 25:06Speaker 5: Am It's fifty one and a half will what do
- 25:10Speaker 5: you think about this game?
- 25:12Speaker 3: I believe Notre Dame would be both these teams.
- 25:15Speaker 6: Is that gonna? Are we putting that up on the boards?
- 25:18Speaker 3: Yeah? I like Miami. I like Miami.
- 25:23Speaker 4: I think Miami is the most physical football team that's
- 25:25Speaker 4: left in the final four of the college.
- 25:27Speaker 6: Were they the most physical team in the playoff period?
- 25:30Speaker 6: I think the answer is also yes.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Yes, I would say yes.
- 25:32Speaker 4: I know you did a great job kind of breaking down. Hey,
- 25:35Speaker 4: when people are trying to come after you saying everything
- 25:36Speaker 4: on Miami was better than Ohio State, you were absolutely
- 25:39Speaker 4: right about the beef that this Miami team has on
- 25:42Speaker 4: offense and defensive line.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Like bain Mesador, Who's is it?
- 25:46Speaker 6: Moten? Yeah?
- 25:47Speaker 3: Moten?
- 25:48Speaker 4: That front four, the way they can apply pressure while
- 25:51Speaker 4: keeping the back seven playing coverage, disguising simulated pressures, all
- 25:56Speaker 4: the different things that that Miami defense is allowed to do.
- 26:00Speaker 4: Who's at Cante Scott who had that pick that picked
- 26:02Speaker 4: six and took him back to the house.
- 26:04Speaker 5: Dude?
- 26:04Speaker 4: They are physical. The back seven will knock your dick
- 26:07Speaker 4: in the dirt, bro. They're the most physical football team.
- 26:10Speaker 4: And I love everything about the story of Ole Miss.
- 26:14Speaker 4: All four of these teams There's something that I love
- 26:16Speaker 4: about all of their story arcs. I love that ole
- 26:18Speaker 4: Miss is winning in spite of their head coach. I
- 26:21Speaker 4: love that they conquered the beast in Georgia when they
- 26:23Speaker 4: lost to Georgia with Lane Kiffin on the sideline. I
- 26:26Speaker 4: love the high powered offense. This is an offense I
- 26:28Speaker 4: hadn't scored less than thirty all season long. The quarterback
- 26:32Speaker 4: dual threatcat can beat you. The most dangerous. Josh Paate
- 26:35Speaker 4: has said it the most dangerous quarterback in the college
- 26:37Speaker 4: football playoff. Ye I love all of that stuff about him.
- 26:39Speaker 4: I think Miami's going to have their handful, is going
- 26:42Speaker 4: to have their hands full defensively trying to stop this offense.
- 26:45Speaker 4: But I do lean on the physicality of Miami. I
- 26:47Speaker 4: lean on the defense that the savviness that they play with.
- 26:50Speaker 4: And I love that Carson Beck has played with pooise
- 26:52Speaker 4: in the Collegewell Playoff. He's taking care of the football.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Fledgers came alive in the run game. He's averaging what
- 26:57Speaker 4: one to thirty across these two games. And then last
- 27:00Speaker 4: week it's like, hey, if you're Ohio State, you take
- 27:02Speaker 4: away who in the receiving core of Miami, and he
- 27:09Speaker 4: still got He's still had five perceptions. But other Cats
- 27:11Speaker 4: are coming alive on the outside. And you just see
- 27:14Speaker 4: a team that's fully taking on the identity of their
- 27:16Speaker 4: head coach. And I I love the way Miami's been
- 27:18Speaker 4: playing football. I love the way Old Miss has gotten
- 27:22Speaker 4: to this point. I think it's gonna be an awesome game.
- 27:24Speaker 4: I just lean on the physical in the defense of
- 27:26Speaker 4: Miami to.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Beat Ole Miss.
- 27:29Speaker 5: Totals what fifty one and a half turning away from
- 27:33Speaker 5: the spreads.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Huh yeah, you like the under scared ball? No, you
- 27:37Speaker 3: like the over?
- 27:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I think I'm gonna take the over as my pick.
- 27:40Speaker 5: Then why not take Old Miss plus dow in a.
- 27:42Speaker 6: Half because I still think Miami's gonna win with the over.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Yeah, Ole Missus defense, they're lighting the ass in the
- 27:47Speaker 4: second level, you know how.
- 27:49Speaker 3: I'm always looking at that second.
- 27:50Speaker 5: Level, always looking at them dies in the second level.
- 27:52Speaker 4: They do have a defense where Miami can keep up
- 27:54Speaker 4: with them in this game, and it's gonna come down
- 27:56Speaker 4: to Miami making some of those big plays defensively, getting
- 27:58Speaker 4: after Chambliss and trying to get to the ground when
- 28:00Speaker 4: he is being dangerous on the outside. I could see
- 28:04Speaker 4: him being a high score game in Miami, just coming
- 28:06Speaker 4: out on top.
- 28:06Speaker 6: I was at the Miami game earlier this year and
- 28:09Speaker 6: Kevin Jennings went off. He was hurt too, and he
- 28:12Speaker 6: went off against Miami. Now, I'm going to tell you
- 28:14Speaker 6: straight up, I think Miami's playing at a way different
- 28:16Speaker 6: level now than they were in that game. It's probably
- 28:18Speaker 6: a wake up call for him, all right. So over
- 28:21Speaker 6: fifty one and a half is going to be my pick.
- 28:23Speaker 6: If I picked against the spread, it would be Miami
- 28:24Speaker 6: minus the points. My question is is this game played
- 28:31Speaker 6: like in structure? Because if it's played in structure, if
- 28:34Speaker 6: there's not a ton of Trinidad Chamblis's circus plays like
- 28:38Speaker 6: he had against Georgia, I would love Miami to cover.
- 28:41Speaker 6: I probably love the under at that point too. But
- 28:43Speaker 6: the thing about that is when you think you've got
- 28:45Speaker 6: a two way disadvantage on the line of scrimmage, which
- 28:47Speaker 6: old Miss does here, there's not much incentive to play
- 28:51Speaker 6: the game in structure. So there's incentive to just wildly
- 28:54Speaker 6: fire until the chambers are empty, and at that point
- 28:57Speaker 6: you tip your cap to Miami if they just leaned
- 28:58Speaker 6: on you and they won the game. Here's what will
- 29:00Speaker 6: make me nervous a little bit we've long since documented
- 29:04Speaker 6: on this show. Miami's done a really good job containing
- 29:07Speaker 6: mobile quarterbacks. Trinidad Shambliss is not the kind of guy
- 29:09Speaker 6: who's gonna rack up a ton of rushing yardage. That
- 29:12Speaker 6: was never gonna be his game. His game is extending
- 29:14Speaker 6: plays like you saw against Georgia. Maybe occasionally he runs
- 29:17Speaker 6: for a first down. Carson Beck doing that too, by
- 29:18Speaker 6: the way. But what would make me nervous is Miami's
- 29:23Speaker 6: ground game against really good run defenses has held up
- 29:26Speaker 6: in the playoffs. They had twenty eight for one to
- 29:29Speaker 6: seventy five against amm that's a top forty run defense.
- 29:32Speaker 6: They had thirty seven for one point fifty three against
- 29:34Speaker 6: Ohio State, that's a top ten run defense. Ole Miss
- 29:37Speaker 6: is sixty fifth. So there is a world where if
- 29:39Speaker 6: ole Miss does not come out of the gate hot
- 29:41Speaker 6: and the game just settles in that Miami just settles
- 29:44Speaker 6: in and they just start leaning, and it's and it's
- 29:47Speaker 6: in a methodical game, and it's over in three hours
- 29:49Speaker 6: and eight minutes, and Miami wins and they move on
- 29:52Speaker 6: and you end up saying, wow, I was kind of
- 29:53Speaker 6: boring those kind of anti climactic. The one problem potentially
- 29:58Speaker 6: with Miami getting the game they want is it compresses
- 30:01Speaker 6: the game and it builds a trapdoor situation where ole
- 30:06Speaker 6: Miss does nothing early Miami just starts running the ball,
- 30:09Speaker 6: grinding the clock. They're up seven to nothing, they're up
- 30:12Speaker 6: ten to three. You get to halftime and you think
- 30:15Speaker 6: this is utter domination on the stat sheet, but the
- 30:17Speaker 6: scoreboard says it's one possession, because that's how those games go.
- 30:20Speaker 6: That's a fourth quarter approach, and you end up stretching it.
- 30:22Speaker 6: At the very end, the trapdoor comes where you've seen
- 30:26Speaker 6: ole Miss do nothing, and it's late third quarter and
- 30:29Speaker 6: Miami's up like, you know, a possession, maybe ten points
- 30:32Speaker 6: or something like that. And then all of a sudden,
- 30:34Speaker 6: the fact that ole Miss is number four in the
- 30:36Speaker 6: country and explosive plays number three in the country and
- 30:38Speaker 6: capbuster plays happens and it validates and just out of nowhere,
- 30:43Speaker 6: boom boom, and you look up and you are dominating,
- 30:46Speaker 6: You're out gaining them, You've got all the advantages on
- 30:48Speaker 6: the stat sheet, and it's tied. And at that point
- 30:51Speaker 6: your strategy has worked against you because you've run the
- 30:54Speaker 6: ball you've grinded clock, you've condensed the game, and it's
- 30:56Speaker 6: the fourth quarter and we each got two possessions left now,
- 31:00Speaker 6: and they figured out a way to tie it up.
- 31:02Speaker 6: And at that point, Trinidad chandlers can do one special
- 31:05Speaker 6: thing and beat you. So I think it's a big
- 31:08Speaker 6: mistake if Miami starts good and then they try and
- 31:11Speaker 6: grind the pace to a halt. I really think they
- 31:13Speaker 6: got to be aggressive. There's no reason for me to
- 31:15Speaker 6: look at Carson Beck against this Ole miss team and
- 31:19Speaker 6: think anything other than he should be a weapon. Malachi
- 31:22Speaker 6: TONI should be a weapon. You talked about getting a
- 31:24Speaker 6: few more receivers worked in our run game. We should
- 31:26Speaker 6: be balanced, We should be able to hang thirty five
- 31:29Speaker 6: on them if we need to, and there's no way
- 31:30Speaker 6: they're scoring thirty five on us. So I think Miami,
- 31:33Speaker 6: even if they get off to a strong start, got
- 31:35Speaker 6: to keep scoring. Got to keep scoring. And that's why
- 31:38Speaker 6: my strategy is over fifty one and a half. But
- 31:40Speaker 6: I think Miami's gonna win and cover.
- 31:42Speaker 5: Miami's gonna win a cover. So your bet is over fifty.
- 31:45Speaker 6: My bet is the total. My heart is with Miami
- 31:48Speaker 6: minus three and a half.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Got you.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I agree with everything I say, especially when it comes
- 31:53Speaker 1: to the trenches, like Miami has a massive edge on
- 31:55Speaker 1: the offensive line side of the ball and the defensive
- 31:57Speaker 1: line side of the ball. The thing that gives me
- 31:59Speaker 1: a little bit of pause is can Ole Miss run
- 32:03Speaker 1: the ball effectively in this game? And it's not about
- 32:06Speaker 1: Trinidad Chambliss dropping back, scanning, surveying, and passing the ball
- 32:10Speaker 1: in the field. It's behind the line of scrimmage, like
- 32:12Speaker 1: you said, extending plays when these defensive defensive backs on
- 32:15Speaker 1: the back end try to plaster, someone gets loose like
- 32:18Speaker 1: they have the entire season against Ole Miss, and he
- 32:21Speaker 1: makes big plays down the field over and over and
- 32:23Speaker 1: over again. Couple that with Old Miss using a lot
- 32:25Speaker 1: of tempo in this game to slow down that defensive
- 32:27Speaker 1: line and make them run east to west, over and
- 32:30Speaker 1: over by the time you get in that third and
- 32:31Speaker 1: fourth quarter.
- 32:34Speaker 5: I like Ole Miss.
- 32:35Speaker 6: That's where I get worried.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Because I really think, like we've we've questioned all Miss
- 32:40Speaker 1: throughout this entire process. We've watched them, We've watched their
- 32:44Speaker 1: head coach take all his coaches from LSU back to
- 32:46Speaker 1: Ole Miss, back and forth. As the weeks have gone
- 32:48Speaker 1: on Lane Kiffin is leaving LSU Bowl games early. He's
- 32:52Speaker 1: making his coaches come back to do recruiting visits while
- 32:55Speaker 1: also they're trying to gain plan for a semi final
- 32:57Speaker 1: playoff spot. And the only thing these kids have done
- 33:00Speaker 1: is just exceed every expectation out there.
- 33:02Speaker 4: I feel like America is like rooting for this. I
- 33:05Speaker 4: sit there from one of them. Yeah, I sit there,
- 33:07Speaker 4: and I'm like root for him against Georgia. Lucy the
- 33:09Speaker 4: running back is a dog. Yeah, Lacey Lacy, the running
- 33:12Speaker 4: back is a dog. Yeah, Lucy Lacy. Lucy Nicotine's incredible. Dude,
- 33:18Speaker 4: there's I think in this game if Old Miss can
- 33:21Speaker 4: do what they've done the entire years. I believe it
- 33:23Speaker 4: was Washington State early in the season when they kind
- 33:25Speaker 4: of had a sleeper before a big game, close game,
- 33:27Speaker 4: sleeper before a big game. I think you're gonna put
- 33:31Speaker 4: Miami situation to where Carson Beck. Everyone wants talk great
- 33:34Speaker 4: about Parson Beck and how at the beginning of the
- 33:35Speaker 4: season went a little stumble in the middle, but it
- 33:37Speaker 4: has been.
- 33:37Speaker 5: Great since then. He threw one one hundred fifty six
- 33:39Speaker 5: yards last game Miami.
- 33:41Speaker 4: I don't I don't feel like people are saying like
- 33:42Speaker 4: he's but he's out there ball and like he's he's.
- 33:47Speaker 5: Showing somebody not.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Will Compton said, you you look at Carson Beck as
- 33:51Speaker 1: a weapon in this game. I think if you use
- 33:53Speaker 1: Carson Beck as a weapon in this game, you have
- 33:56Speaker 1: a high probability of turnovers.
- 33:58Speaker 6: Don't you think the weapon last game with his legs,
- 34:02Speaker 6: but I think with his.
- 34:04Speaker 5: Two was here for one hundred prederent yards.
- 34:08Speaker 6: True, they were very effective.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Y'all see you saw them with that shoulder last game. Right,
- 34:12Speaker 3: let's see it putting that shoulder down on some boys
- 34:15Speaker 3: weight room.
- 34:16Speaker 6: Like.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I think they run the ball really effectively. I think
- 34:18Speaker 1: they've proven that. You said the stats right there. I
- 34:21Speaker 1: think if Old Miss can turn this into a game
- 34:23Speaker 1: that almost wants to play, where it's fifty thirty and
- 34:24Speaker 1: a third with and one hundred yards long and allowed
- 34:27Speaker 1: to make these defensive linemen run east to west throughout
- 34:30Speaker 1: the entire game and tire them out and extend plays.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Have some explosives here and there, but get them ten
- 34:35Speaker 1: to twelve play drives. I like Ole Miss in this game,
- 34:38Speaker 1: and I'm taking Old Miss to cover three and a half.
- 34:41Speaker 6: The other part of the trap door theory. I'm glad
- 34:43Speaker 6: you mentioned that because part of the trap door theory is, hey,
- 34:45Speaker 6: Miami's up at the half, but you look at the
- 34:47Speaker 6: stat sheet and ole Miss ran thirty nine plays, and
- 34:53Speaker 6: the thirty nine plays involved those defensive linemen on the field,
- 34:57Speaker 6: and you converted some third downs and you just you
- 34:59Speaker 6: just made them stay on the field, and you're looking
- 35:01Speaker 6: and you're saying, thirty nine, what's about to happen in
- 35:05Speaker 6: the second half. Because the thing about big dudes that
- 35:08Speaker 6: you'll notice that doesn't apply to dbs or wide receivers
- 35:11Speaker 6: is once their tank is empty, their tank's just empty, right.
- 35:14Speaker 6: They don't reload. Big dudes don't reload, especially defensive linemen,
- 35:17Speaker 6: they don't really reload, and so once they're gassed, they're gassed.
- 35:20Speaker 6: And that's what worries me. And that's why I think,
- 35:22Speaker 6: even if it's a lower scoring game to start out with,
- 35:25Speaker 6: I still like that over because I think at some point,
- 35:28Speaker 6: if you even get a fraction of what ole Miss
- 35:30Speaker 6: did against Georgia, there's going to come a time where
- 35:33Speaker 6: you know, that game turns loose in the second half,
- 35:36Speaker 6: maybe early fourth quarter, And that's what makes me nervous.
- 35:39Speaker 6: So I still like Miami, but because I think they
- 35:42Speaker 6: can score two. I just think they may have to
- 35:44Speaker 6: score because they give up a little bit more than
- 35:46Speaker 6: they're used to.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Right, But if you look at both teams, you're like,
- 35:48Speaker 1: which team has to score? Who do I feel more
- 35:50Speaker 1: comfortable with producing seven US as opposed to three?
- 35:54Speaker 5: What team are you picking in that just that situation.
- 35:56Speaker 6: It would be Old Miss. But I will say this
- 35:59Speaker 6: Ole Miss may have the greatest kicker in the history
- 36:01Speaker 6: of organized sports. That dude's once once you if you
- 36:03Speaker 6: get fair, catch the ball in the end zone, he's
- 36:06Speaker 6: almost in field goal range. You need about ten fifteen yards.
- 36:09Speaker 6: I feel like that dude would have been good from
- 36:11Speaker 6: seventy five the other day.
- 36:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I like Old Mess. I love the story too.
- 36:15Speaker 1: I love how Lane Kiffin is now like just actually
- 36:19Speaker 1: trying to ruin their playoffs. He's like no longer a hiding.
- 36:23Speaker 1: At first, it was like, let me try to be
- 36:24Speaker 1: a little more sneaky about this. Now he's out of
- 36:26Speaker 1: the bushes. He's out of the bushes, just be like, hey,
- 36:29Speaker 1: we're we can't win this happen.
- 36:33Speaker 3: I love all of the stories of these four teams.
- 36:35Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely left.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Yeah, my heart is I'm worried about this next time
- 36:40Speaker 1: we're about to talk about, but I do. I'm excited
- 36:42Speaker 1: to watch this game as a fan and see all
- 36:46Speaker 1: the ACC dowters, myself included, see if they are like,
- 36:49Speaker 1: hey they get something to stand out. Hey, we're our
- 36:50Speaker 1: ACC football team is in the National Championship. And then
- 36:53Speaker 1: this old Missagle with Lane Kiffin and all the things
- 36:56Speaker 1: he tried to do to derail them. Can they withstand
- 37:00Speaker 1: all the distractions?
- 37:01Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 37:02Speaker 5: And just can and just be great?
- 37:04Speaker 6: Can you?
- 37:05Speaker 3: And don't give the a sec that Bro, They're just
- 37:06Speaker 3: still very mediocre. They have Miami.
- 37:10Speaker 1: But it's the same thing like now the ACC cans
- 37:13Speaker 1: sit there and say our top is better than anybody
- 37:15Speaker 1: else's top, yeah, which is like, yeah, it's a whole
- 37:18Speaker 1: nother war for next year when we get after the season.
- 37:21Speaker 3: And I just love hearing the rumbling suit the U
- 37:23Speaker 3: is back.
- 37:25Speaker 6: You hear what Mario said about that?
- 37:27Speaker 3: What Mario said?
- 37:28Speaker 6: So Mario, I was down there three years ago and
- 37:31Speaker 6: I was sitting in his office and he just like
- 37:33Speaker 6: went on this tirade which was off camera, and he's
- 37:37Speaker 6: really good off camera, He's okay on camera. Mario's a
- 37:39Speaker 6: really good off camera. So he's just pounding Cuban coffee
- 37:42Speaker 6: shots at his desk and he's going off about the
- 37:44Speaker 6: U being back. He said, I'm I'm going to clean
- 37:46Speaker 6: it up a little bit. But he said, I'm so
- 37:48Speaker 6: tired of these people asking me when the U is
- 37:49Speaker 6: going to be back. The US never going to be
- 37:52Speaker 6: back because we can't ever replicate what we did in
- 37:54Speaker 6: the late eighties and early nineties, not because we don't
- 37:57Speaker 6: want to, but because the entire sport has changed. It's
- 37:59Speaker 6: impossible for any want to do what we did in
- 38:01Speaker 6: the late eighties and early nineties. I'm not focused on
- 38:03Speaker 6: bringing the U back. I'm focused on building what the
- 38:05Speaker 6: U is going to be. And I sat there and
- 38:07Speaker 6: I said, putting on a T shirt, that's great. Yeah,
- 38:09Speaker 6: well US three years ago, you know. So they've still
- 38:12Speaker 6: had some bad losses since then, and like people have
- 38:15Speaker 6: been up and down on him, saying he's just a recruiter.
- 38:17Speaker 6: He can't do this, he can't do that. A lot
- 38:19Speaker 6: of cannot when it should have been has not. So
- 38:21Speaker 6: now they're four quarters away from playing for a national
- 38:23Speaker 6: championship in their own building. By the way, it'll be
- 38:26Speaker 6: a home game for the national title game, and he
- 38:28Speaker 6: said it the other night they interviewed him. I think
- 38:30Speaker 6: Scott Benpelt had him on Sports Center. He's got the
- 38:33Speaker 6: headset on, He's right there, there's confetti still flying down,
- 38:36Speaker 6: and he said a version of that. He said, I've
- 38:39Speaker 6: not really been worried about getting the U back. That
- 38:42Speaker 6: was another era in college football history. We love the tradition,
- 38:45Speaker 6: we appreciate it, we respect it, but I'm focused on
- 38:48Speaker 6: building what the U is going to be. That's the
- 38:50Speaker 6: exact proper stance to have. He had it. It's not
- 38:53Speaker 6: some new catchphrase that marketing gave him on a post
- 38:56Speaker 6: it note, like that's how they've constructed things down there,
- 38:59Speaker 6: because the only thing that this Miami team would have
- 39:02Speaker 6: in common with those teams if they won the title
- 39:04Speaker 6: was that they won the title. Nothing about the way
- 39:06Speaker 6: these teams are constructed now has anything in common with
- 39:09Speaker 6: the way Howard Schnellenberger or Jimmy Johnson or anyone like
- 39:12Speaker 6: that put those teams together back then.
- 39:14Speaker 3: That's fair. Also, Michael Irvan on the sideline Belta ass.
- 39:18Speaker 6: Belts, Ray, Lewis, Ray and Lewis. You gotta wonder who's
- 39:21Speaker 6: gonna be there this week. You gotta wonder.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Yeah, they use back. They're bringing the U back. Let's
- 39:28Speaker 3: get to Big Netty and Lanny.
- 39:29Speaker 5: Yeah you want me to read it?
- 39:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Big Natty and Laney.
- 39:34Speaker 6: I have a nine and a half on the nervousness
- 39:37Speaker 6: scale about to predict this game. And I shouldn't feel
- 39:39Speaker 6: the way I feel, but I'm nervous. Go ahead.
- 39:41Speaker 1: We have the True Classic Game of the Week right now.
- 39:43Speaker 1: But you can find True Classic at Amazon, at Costco,
- 39:45Speaker 1: Sam's Club, Target nationwide. You can go online at tru
- 39:47Speaker 1: Classic dot com. Forward slash busting, look good, feel good,
- 39:50Speaker 1: play good. But listen, I got that PEMA T shirt
- 39:52Speaker 1: right now.
- 39:53Speaker 5: You never se that A little curve I.
- 39:54Speaker 1: Curve in that little boy right there kind of makes
- 39:56Speaker 1: you say, you put it on a Classic T shirt?
- 39:58Speaker 3: You look good?
- 39:58Speaker 1: And then you have the curve going. You're like, you
- 40:01Speaker 1: know what, maybe today's gonna be a special day. You
- 40:03Speaker 1: get a True Classic tea like that. You don't even
- 40:05Speaker 1: need a New Years Resolution.
- 40:06Speaker 3: You really don't.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Oh, get Jack twenty twenty six, doesn't matter. I got
- 40:09Speaker 1: True Classic hab in my back. Let's get into the
- 40:11Speaker 1: Tru Classic Game of the week. Can I can fully
- 40:13Speaker 1: get on board with that. This is the Peach Bowl,
- 40:15Speaker 1: Mercedes Benz Stadium, Number five, Oregon versus number one in Indiana.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Indiana's favored by three and a half points total. That
- 40:24Speaker 1: game is forty six and a half. No one wants
- 40:28Speaker 1: to go first. Nope, no, No one wants to have
- 40:30Speaker 1: this conversation. Dan Lanning, friend of the show, Signetti Denier,
- 40:34Speaker 1: but soon to be a friend of the show, doesn't
- 40:37Speaker 1: know it yet. Maybe the most well coached football team
- 40:40Speaker 1: in Bloomfield, Indiana. Bloomington Bloomington, Indiana, follow by the second
- 40:46Speaker 1: most best coach team in Eugene, Oregon.
- 40:49Speaker 3: Are they though?
- 40:50Speaker 5: Yeah, they're good, They're well coached. Do you really think so? Situationally,
- 40:54Speaker 5: I think they're really good.
- 40:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:55Speaker 6: And I hated situational offense with them this last game.
- 40:58Speaker 6: I hated it. I mean, we will. Stein's partly checked out.
- 41:02Speaker 6: He's busy taking your quarterback down there at Kentucky, they
- 41:04Speaker 6: go for God bless they go for it eight times
- 41:07Speaker 6: on fourth down.
- 41:08Speaker 5: That the new age of football, dude, the new age
- 41:11Speaker 5: of football.
- 41:11Speaker 6: You're not about to tell me everyone's just out there
- 41:13Speaker 6: going for it over half a dozen times on fourth
- 41:15Speaker 6: down per game. It looked a little shape.
- 41:17Speaker 3: We got to get him. On the phone with Greg Olson.
- 41:20Speaker 6: I've heard no don't make sense. I'm not saying the
- 41:23Speaker 6: analytics don't make sense. I'm saying, all right, forget, forget
- 41:26Speaker 6: the fourth down thing. That's a byproduct of I think
- 41:29Speaker 6: some offensive inefficiency that they had in this game. So
- 41:31Speaker 6: I'm kind of joking, but I'm kind of serious. There
- 41:34Speaker 6: was defense, but that's true. There was a lot of
- 41:37Speaker 6: stuff that Oregon could afford to get away with against
- 41:40Speaker 6: Texas Tech that would just bankrupt you against Indiana because
- 41:42Speaker 6: Indiana can make you pay for that stuff. And man,
- 41:45Speaker 6: I'm telling you, I go back a couple of years.
- 41:46Speaker 6: I remember Dubor was still at Washington Landing and Oregon
- 41:50Speaker 6: played them twice one in Seattle, won in the PAC
- 41:53Speaker 6: twelve Championship game, and I was up at the game
- 41:55Speaker 6: in Seattle. He goes for it on fourth down a
- 41:57Speaker 6: couple of times, they don't convert and they lose, and
- 42:00Speaker 6: he just gets drug in the media, and I respected
- 42:03Speaker 6: him because he said we just didn't execute, like I'm
- 42:05Speaker 6: not changing my strategy. I'm not changing my formula. And
- 42:08Speaker 6: that got born out because later in the year they
- 42:10Speaker 6: still go for it on fourth down. But then they
- 42:12Speaker 6: got to the Pactweld Championship game, and I ran my
- 42:15Speaker 6: mouth all year about how orgon in the rematch they'll
- 42:17Speaker 6: win it. They're favored by like ten, and they got
- 42:20Speaker 6: beat worse that time than they did the first time around.
- 42:23Speaker 6: And so this whole Dan landing in a rematch thing
- 42:26Speaker 6: still got to see it. That's part one. But part
- 42:28Speaker 6: two is the fourth down thing. So last week, you
- 42:31Speaker 6: go for it eight times on fourth down, you convert
- 42:34Speaker 6: four of them. There were a lot of arguments that
- 42:37Speaker 6: maybe you kept Texas Tech in the game by not converting.
- 42:40Speaker 6: So the answer is, of course, to execute. You convert
- 42:43Speaker 6: and you're good. But there's another thing that could creep
- 42:45Speaker 6: into play here. You're watching the film of Alabama in Indiana,
- 42:48Speaker 6: Kaylin de Bor just egregiously goes for it on fourth
- 42:52Speaker 6: down on his own thirty yard line. They don't convert,
- 42:55Speaker 6: and the damn breaks on Alabama. So you've got your
- 42:58Speaker 6: fourth down experience against Texas Tech, You've got people experiencing
- 43:02Speaker 6: fourth down failure against Indiana. You've got your entire career
- 43:06Speaker 6: and your ethos and your DNA. How are you going
- 43:09Speaker 6: to handle fourth down play? Calling? Fourth down decision making
- 43:12Speaker 6: in this game, because the best thing Indiana does is
- 43:16Speaker 6: they force you off of who you are, Like there's
- 43:18Speaker 6: no world where I think Alabama's making those decisions against
- 43:21Speaker 6: Georgia or Tennessee. But Indiana made them feel the pressure
- 43:25Speaker 6: and make those decisions. And so these decisions, these game decisions,
- 43:29Speaker 6: these third and fourth down play calling decisions, I wonder
- 43:32Speaker 6: how different that looks in this game. And then the
- 43:34Speaker 6: other thing that I wonder is is there enough looseness
- 43:39Speaker 6: in the puzzle? Like are there enough blank pieces in
- 43:42Speaker 6: the puzzle of Indiana or are they just fully put together?
- 43:45Speaker 6: Because the puzzle that's fully put together, that's just there's
- 43:49Speaker 6: no loose ends, there's no blank spaces, there's no weaknesses.
- 43:53Speaker 6: In other words, which means you have to either be
- 43:55Speaker 6: as good as them and execute or you just got
- 43:58Speaker 6: to be more talented than them and execute at a
- 44:00Speaker 6: relatively high level. And I just hadn't seen anyone do
- 44:03Speaker 6: it this year. So I think the staff edge goes
- 44:06Speaker 6: to Indiana because I don't I don't care what Dan
- 44:09Speaker 6: Lanning says. I hate that you have stats, including his,
- 44:14Speaker 6: that have multiple coordinators on their way out the door.
- 44:17Speaker 6: You will never convince me, that's not an issue, and
- 44:19Speaker 6: I think conditionally once we get out of the playoffs
- 44:23Speaker 6: and you start to get some truth serum in some
- 44:25Speaker 6: folks anonymously, I'm not just talking about Oregon here, I'm
- 44:28Speaker 6: talking about a number of stats. You will hear that
- 44:30Speaker 6: this was a huge impediment to people's preparation and people's
- 44:34Speaker 6: game week execution. You will hear that. So Dante Moore,
- 44:38Speaker 6: I think the game falls on him. Dante Moore got
- 44:41Speaker 6: picked off a couple of times. I think in this game.
- 44:42Speaker 3: The first time around.
- 44:44Speaker 6: It's because their average distance to gain on third down
- 44:48Speaker 6: was over six yards, so they got to get him
- 44:50Speaker 6: in manageable situations. They had five third and nine plus situations,
- 44:55Speaker 6: so third and fourth down. I know it's always important.
- 44:58Speaker 6: It's the most important out of it any of these
- 45:00Speaker 6: playoff games for Oregon in this game. So if anyone
- 45:04Speaker 6: can convince me they're gonna execute it that high level,
- 45:07Speaker 6: I would pick Oregon, but they didn't against Texas Tech.
- 45:11Speaker 6: I think Indiana can put the heat on you every
- 45:13Speaker 6: bit as much, if not more than Texas Tech. So
- 45:18Speaker 6: I'm just done doubting him. You got his number, I don't.
- 45:22Speaker 6: I don't have Kurt Signetty's number. He's never texted me,
- 45:28Speaker 6: but I know not to doubt him. So if Dan
- 45:31Speaker 6: Lanning needs disrespect, if Dan Lanning needs doubt, if he
- 45:35Speaker 6: needs a face to look at in the mirror other
- 45:38Speaker 6: than his own, he can look at mine. Because I
- 45:41Speaker 6: may not be doubting him. I'm just believing in the
- 45:43Speaker 6: other guy more so, I'm gonna take Indiana to win.
- 45:47Speaker 6: I will take Indiana to cover.
- 45:52Speaker 1: So Dan Lanning looks in the mirror and he's he's
- 45:54Speaker 1: a doubter, and it's Josh Pate. It's unfortunately out of
- 46:00Speaker 1: the one. Oh my goodness, I believe Indiana is the
- 46:03Speaker 1: best coach team in all of college football right now.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Thirteen points that Oregon got came from four turnovers against
- 46:09Speaker 1: Texas Tech. Indiana is not going to give you those
- 46:11Speaker 1: types of opportunities, Dan Landing, as much as I love him,
- 46:14Speaker 1: you're right. He's a super aggressive guy who's gonna live
- 46:17Speaker 1: and die by his own sword. You we pointed out
- 46:20Speaker 1: the couple of years ago against Washington, killing the bor
- 46:22Speaker 1: going for a fourth down. If I'm strategically going against
- 46:27Speaker 1: Indiana and my office is not getting off to a
- 46:29Speaker 1: good start and it's and I know how they can
- 46:32Speaker 1: kind of just trudge down the field to run the ball,
- 46:34Speaker 1: RPOs passing the ball. I'm going to flip the field
- 46:36Speaker 1: on them and make them go the length of the field.
- 46:38Speaker 6: I agree.
- 46:39Speaker 1: I don't know if Dan will do that. I agree
- 46:41Speaker 1: because he's shown that and you you, I mean, you
- 46:43Speaker 1: said all of it. They were horrible and third down
- 46:45Speaker 1: last time, I think he got sacked how many times?
- 46:50Speaker 5: But six times in the first matchup.
- 46:52Speaker 6: I think three or fourteen on third down.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Maybe I think that number goes down a little bit
- 46:56Speaker 1: because of the injury that took place to that that
- 46:58Speaker 1: player that I can't remember his name right now. But
- 47:01Speaker 1: you're not going to get four turnovers against Indiana. You're
- 47:03Speaker 1: gonna have to go to the length of the field.
- 47:05Speaker 1: You're not going to get him on some petty they
- 47:07Speaker 1: jumped off side. There's a free five yards, so we're
- 47:09Speaker 1: going to take a shot down the field. Dante Moore
- 47:11Speaker 1: to win for Ore going to win this game, Danzey
- 47:13Speaker 1: Moore has to be elite.
- 47:14Speaker 6: Yep.
- 47:15Speaker 1: It can't be your run game. It can't be six
- 47:16Speaker 1: point seven on the ground. I know their rushing stats
- 47:19Speaker 1: weren't great in this last game, but a lot of
- 47:21Speaker 1: that comes back to how many times he was sacked.
- 47:23Speaker 6: It does even the sack adjusted though, they were under
- 47:26Speaker 6: two yards per carry, so they sucked running the ball
- 47:28Speaker 6: even without sacks. But if you take out sacks in
- 47:32Speaker 6: the Indiana game, they were near five yards per carry.
- 47:35Speaker 6: They did not run the ball terribly against Indiana the
- 47:37Speaker 6: first time around. That's why the key I said it
- 47:40Speaker 6: eventually falls on Dante Moore. That's all predicated on your
- 47:43Speaker 6: run game being able to do enough of what it
- 47:45Speaker 6: should be able to do. Like Bama had nothing running
- 47:47Speaker 6: the ball in Indiana. You should have something, not a
- 47:50Speaker 6: whole lot, but you should have something running the ball
- 47:52Speaker 6: against Indiana. Stephen Daily being out for Indiana ended up
- 47:55Speaker 6: not mattering against Bama. Maybe it matters in this game.
- 47:59Speaker 6: Maybe this is where that shows that.
- 48:01Speaker 1: I don't know if it does, and based on my page,
- 48:03Speaker 1: I don't think it does. And it breaks my heart
- 48:05Speaker 1: for Oregon. Breaks my heart because I'm a massive fan
- 48:07Speaker 1: of Dan Landing. And then when he looks in the
- 48:09Speaker 1: mirror of doubt, he's gonna see both of our faces.
- 48:11Speaker 1: We'll find out if there's three faces in front of
- 48:13Speaker 1: him in just a second but they have to do
- 48:16Speaker 1: things we haven't seen on film in order for them
- 48:19Speaker 1: to be successful against Indiana.
- 48:21Speaker 5: And because of that, I have.
- 48:22Speaker 1: To go with the safer bet, which is I have
- 48:24Speaker 1: to pick the team that I've seen do it on film,
- 48:25Speaker 1: which is Indiana.
- 48:26Speaker 6: Do you remember Landing post game against Penn State.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Yeah, coked out of his mind, not really coked out.
- 48:33Speaker 1: That's a people are.
- 48:34Speaker 6: Gonna take that Coca Cola classic. Yeah, polar bear style.
- 48:38Speaker 6: That has to pale in comparison. You know, he's watching,
- 48:42Speaker 6: you know how he has to feel, and he's he's
- 48:44Speaker 6: seated like I am right now, because he knows there's
- 48:47Speaker 6: one man who can save them. There's one man who
- 48:50Speaker 6: can pull the nose up on this before it craters
- 48:52Speaker 6: into the earth. His name is William Compton.
- 48:58Speaker 3: His nose is cratered into the earth.
- 49:00Speaker 1: You're kidding me, no this, hey, but here's a positive.
- 49:04Speaker 1: This is don't even break anything down. Exactly what break
- 49:08Speaker 1: down is exactly what Organ needs to win one, two
- 49:12Speaker 1: three on Indiana.
- 49:14Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 49:14Speaker 5: Welcome to the show boys. I've been on this for
- 49:16Speaker 5: a week longer. All good. I'm happy to have you.
- 49:19Speaker 5: But this is gonna help Organ win this game.
- 49:21Speaker 3: There ain't much to break down.
- 49:22Speaker 4: You guys, lay out scenarios where the game could be
- 49:24Speaker 4: played like four different ways. Every outcome screams Indiana. Not
- 49:28Speaker 4: a whole lot of fodder from Bignetti. The name Bignetti
- 49:32Speaker 4: texting me other than he knows I'm his daddy. Yeah,
- 49:36Speaker 4: that's it. And he and I sit there and read that,
- 49:39Speaker 4: and I'm like, he is his daddy, Like Big Netty
- 49:45Speaker 4: is big bro and Landing is little bro. In this situation,
- 49:50Speaker 4: there's there's no and everybody knows we love Orgon.
- 49:54Speaker 5: We love Orgon.
- 49:56Speaker 4: Our bias lies with Lanning and organ absolutely that fan
- 49:59Speaker 4: base does.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Any time we go out there.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Animal House, Animal film there and you still haven't seen
- 50:07Speaker 1: the movie, gotta watch it. But a animals master Matt Kearney, Yeah.
- 50:13Speaker 3: He's got the song.
- 50:16Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so yeah, but voice, hey heartbreaking.
- 50:22Speaker 6: Yeah it's Kurt Bignetti after all the things that he said,
- 50:25Speaker 6: not about Dan. You can talk about a guy, you
- 50:27Speaker 6: talk about a guy's family, you talk about a guy's wife.
- 50:30Speaker 6: And the beautiful thing is a lot of times when
- 50:32Speaker 6: people trash talk you where they take shots at you
- 50:34Speaker 6: in life, you don't get a chance to seek retribution.
- 50:38Speaker 6: You don't get a chance to avenge yourself. Dan Lanning
- 50:40Speaker 6: has a chance to avenge himself, his name, his team,
- 50:45Speaker 6: his family, his.
- 50:46Speaker 4: Wife, his friends, us. But Kurt Bignetti is gonna be
- 50:51Speaker 4: across the sideline. He's gonna look at Dan and he's
- 50:54Speaker 4: gonna go and it's over.
- 50:58Speaker 5: Was there a harder clip to come out this last week? Then?
- 51:00Speaker 3: When he did at to Pat.
- 51:01Speaker 1: McAfee, that's unbelievable. It was unbelievable. Rose Bull, Well, the
- 51:06Speaker 1: first time you need it was ever in the rose
- 51:07Speaker 1: Ball had to.
- 51:07Speaker 6: Be Yeah, uh with in color TV era, certainly. And
- 51:12Speaker 6: you know what the worst part of it was, You
- 51:14Speaker 6: seen Silence of the Lambs? Yeah, okay, Hannibal Lecter. One
- 51:18Speaker 6: of the famous things about him is when he was
- 51:19Speaker 6: killing people, his heart rate never got above eighty. And
- 51:23Speaker 6: so he's beaten a cop to death spoiler alert, he's
- 51:26Speaker 6: beaten a cop to death with his club. He's beating
- 51:29Speaker 6: his head, he gets the prison doors, and all the
- 51:31Speaker 6: while he just has this look on his face like
- 51:33Speaker 6: he's watching the TV show.
- 51:34Speaker 5: Just boring TV show too.
- 51:37Speaker 6: That was Kurt Signetti. Kurt Signetti sitting there finger gun
- 51:40Speaker 6: in Pat McAfee thinking of him, suff you have no
- 51:42Speaker 6: idea what I'm about to do to these kids.
- 51:44Speaker 5: They finished the Rose Bowl, they fly back to Indiana.
- 51:47Speaker 1: I've already throughout the city. He corrected me Onloo Bloomington.
- 51:51Speaker 1: He lets his coaching staff, goes home. He stays at
- 51:53Speaker 1: the office for six more hours, six to eight more hours,
- 51:56Speaker 1: just to watch films start breaking down. Organ because he's
- 51:58Speaker 1: got transferportablecruits coming in. Ends up signing half a dozy,
- 52:02Speaker 1: including Nick marsh whoever he wanted, whoever he wanted. They
- 52:06Speaker 1: here's here's the front for here's no. They just signed.
- 52:10Speaker 1: They assigned h TCU. Correct, Yes, Brenana Mendozo. We're in
- 52:18Speaker 1: the most RPOs in all of college football this year,
- 52:21Speaker 1: second place, Hoover.
- 52:24Speaker 5: Most r post. He got his guy. This is what
- 52:28Speaker 5: Dan Lenny has on his shoulders this weekend.
- 52:30Speaker 1: It's not the Oregon Ducks, it's not the Northwest, it's
- 52:33Speaker 1: not it's not his wife. It's if you let Indiana
- 52:37Speaker 1: win this game and the transfer portal that we live in,
- 52:41Speaker 1: we will now be living in a world where kids
- 52:43Speaker 1: will give up, give up some money to go to
- 52:46Speaker 1: Indiana to pick coach.
- 52:47Speaker 6: By Kurtz I think they already are.
- 52:50Speaker 5: Hey, that's on Dan. That's one hundred Dan. If they
- 52:54Speaker 5: loses this.
- 52:54Speaker 6: Game, Hey, I got one more thing for you to
- 52:58Speaker 6: I got a text Landing. I got one more thing
- 53:00Speaker 6: for you. Now, let me ask you this. You hear
- 53:03Speaker 6: some of the haters, Believe it or not, not everyone
- 53:05Speaker 6: loves Dan Lanning. Some people say about him, what is
- 53:08Speaker 6: he won? What does he want?
- 53:10Speaker 5: You know?
- 53:10Speaker 6: Cause to some people, if you haven't won a national title,
- 53:12Speaker 6: you haven't won anything. I think he's in the James
- 53:15Speaker 6: Franklin spot last year because they were saying that about
- 53:17Speaker 6: James Franklin. James Franklin doesn't win the Big Ten title
- 53:21Speaker 6: but still goes to the playoff. Right hosts a playoff game,
- 53:24Speaker 6: just like Landing. Did they beat SMU at home? Oregon
- 53:30Speaker 6: beat JMU at home? Then Penn State goes and they
- 53:33Speaker 6: beat Boise in the Fiesta Bowl. Well, Oregon goes and
- 53:36Speaker 6: they beat Texas Tech in the Orange Bowl. But still
- 53:40Speaker 6: you're not going to get credit for it because to
- 53:42Speaker 6: the public, Oh, those were games you were supposed to win.
- 53:45Speaker 6: It's Penn State go beat Notre Dame. Well you can't
- 53:48Speaker 6: Drawaler throws an interception, season over and the haters were
- 53:51Speaker 6: still even after you won two playoff games, saying, at
- 53:54Speaker 6: the end of the day, what has James Franklin won?
- 53:57Speaker 6: Mark my words, if Oregon lou this is this game,
- 54:01Speaker 6: the haters will still say about Dan Lanning, what has
- 54:04Speaker 6: he won? So throw that on his shoulders as well
- 54:06Speaker 6: to any Franklin, That's what they'll say.
- 54:11Speaker 3: Did you text him that? No, I texted her. I
- 54:13Speaker 3: said Bignetti owns.
- 54:14Speaker 4: You'll sell the follow up and say none of us
- 54:18Speaker 4: believe in you thumbs up to both this thumbs up.
- 54:22Speaker 5: Yeah, that's heartbreaking. I was really hoping one of you would.
- 54:27Speaker 6: You actually say that.
- 54:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I was really helping one of you would go Oregon
- 54:33Speaker 1: because I feel extra bad now that we're all.
- 54:35Speaker 5: Three of us are in the hurt list. It's gonna hurt.
- 54:40Speaker 5: Get it done.
- 54:41Speaker 4: You can't not recognize what this Indiana team has done.
- 54:45Speaker 4: Most balanced football team, which feels like a like a
- 54:50Speaker 4: like a cop out on talking about how much respect
- 54:53Speaker 4: that this team has on the ground with Mendoza, that defense,
- 54:56Speaker 4: the secondary, the way that they play, I mean, they are.
- 55:01Speaker 3: They are that squad.
- 55:02Speaker 1: They are elite and all the boring things in football. Yeah,
- 55:05Speaker 1: and that's what makes them excellent. Yeah, they don't make
- 55:08Speaker 1: mistakes a lot of bite. Yeah, but they're so sound
- 55:13Speaker 1: in their techniques. They're always in the right spots when
- 55:17Speaker 1: they're breaking their routes. Their offensive line is always on
- 55:20Speaker 1: the same page. Mendoza always knows where he's going. Even
- 55:23Speaker 1: in the first first series of the game, Like you
- 55:25Speaker 1: see the lead up to the Rose Bowl and they're
- 55:28Speaker 1: breaking down games of Fernanda Mendoza played, and he shows
- 55:31Speaker 1: a couple of plays in that game, goes to Fernanda
- 55:34Speaker 1: Mendoza singing in a car shirt, talking to the person
- 55:36Speaker 1: whoever it was, breaking down the stuff, and he goes, yeah,
- 55:38Speaker 1: I'll be hono. So I was really nervous, and then
- 55:39Speaker 1: we all just settled down and we knew we had
- 55:40Speaker 1: each other's back. In Classic Frenanda Mendoza Verbid Cinema and
- 55:45Speaker 1: they showed it two or three times, two or three
- 55:47Speaker 1: games they talked about and two or three times he
- 55:49Speaker 1: says similar things about being nervous calming down Alabama starts.
- 55:54Speaker 1: They get two sacks in the first series on their
- 55:56Speaker 1: first two dropback passes, and it's exactly it's like, yeah,
- 55:58Speaker 1: they're probably a little nervous, and they settled down and
- 56:01Speaker 1: for Nana Mendoza and that that computer of his, they.
- 56:04Speaker 4: Just yeah, the only team who's won with a bye
- 56:08Speaker 4: teams with the buye are what it was?
- 56:09Speaker 3: One and seven?
- 56:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, which is nuts nuts.
- 56:15Speaker 3: Well, Fellas, this doesn't seem like we feel good.
- 56:18Speaker 5: No, Hey, Bryce Underwood came back to Michigan.
- 56:23Speaker 6: A big deal.
- 56:23Speaker 5: That is a big deal.
- 56:24Speaker 3: Is a very big deal.
- 56:25Speaker 5: That's a big deal.
- 56:26Speaker 3: A lot of work, a lot of effort.
- 56:29Speaker 6: Oh no, ship, it's rolling.
- 56:33Speaker 5: It's rolling. Now.
- 56:34Speaker 1: I need douceduice back. Haynes Marshall, marsh get those boys,
- 56:44Speaker 1: a couple of wide receivers. Get that snowed in kid
- 56:47Speaker 1: from Utah and that Daily kid. I like where we say.
- 56:52Speaker 4: Hey, But as Mario would say, it's not about being back,
- 56:54Speaker 4: it's about where you're doing it.
- 56:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that that too.
- 56:59Speaker 6: The Mario's up too.
- 57:00Speaker 5: You'll see you next time.
