- 0:00Speaker 1: Before getting into this episode, we do want to give
- 0:01Speaker 1: a warning that we'll be discussing matters of domestic violence.
- 0:06Speaker 2: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:09Speaker 2: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Everyone.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome to a breaking news episode of the Almost Famous Podcast.
- 0:15Speaker 1: We're here to talk about something very serious and very awful.
- 0:19Speaker 1: There was a video that was released today about an
- 0:22Speaker 1: hour ago to TMZ from somebody in I'm assuming Dakota's
- 0:29Speaker 1: camp that shows the video of the twenty twenty three
- 0:34Speaker 1: attack on him by Taylor. So this is not the
- 0:40Speaker 1: one that has been making current headlines, but and this
- 0:43Speaker 1: has been you know, she's been arrested for the incident
- 0:47Speaker 1: that is now online. We've never seen in the video before,
- 0:51Speaker 1: and it's bad.
- 0:52Speaker 3: A couple of questions, just for clarity's sake, One is
- 0:58Speaker 3: is it why was he was he filming it? Do
- 1:01Speaker 3: you think because this had happened in.
- 1:03Speaker 1: The past or lots of people say lots of people
- 1:07Speaker 1: are advised when in an abusive relationship to film moments
- 1:12Speaker 1: like that so that they have the evidence that the
- 1:15Speaker 1: police will need. Girls sometimes don't videotape it, but then
- 1:20Speaker 1: they'll like send text or like they'll do voice recordings
- 1:23Speaker 1: and date them and all of that. So this is
- 1:26Speaker 1: not weird behavior for somebody who is being abused.
- 1:31Speaker 3: And the second question I've had is who released it?
- 1:34Speaker 4: And then why do we think now.
- 1:37Speaker 1: That is the interesting? That is, Yeah, that's that's interesting.
- 1:44Speaker 1: So Dakota will really stop at nothing. Somebody said, this
- 1:50Speaker 1: is a video that he released to TMZ. It's terrible.
- 1:53Speaker 1: It's not saying nobody's saying that it isn't. But this
- 1:56Speaker 1: video is from two thousand and three and he decided
- 1:58Speaker 1: to just release it right now before Bachelorette season aired.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Some people are saying that it was him directly because
- 2:08Speaker 1: because now his like meal ticket is gone. Like, some
- 2:14Speaker 1: people are arguing that this is I don't think the
- 2:17Speaker 1: meal ticket is him being on Secret Lives. But now
- 2:21Speaker 1: with like all of this, all these headlines, people are
- 2:24Speaker 1: speculating that she will not be on Secret Lives anymore,
- 2:28Speaker 1: and now he's just kind of over it. People. We
- 2:32Speaker 1: do not actually know who released the video, but people
- 2:35Speaker 1: are obviously expecting that it's somebody that is close to
- 2:40Speaker 1: to Dakota, as this person would need to obviously get
- 2:44Speaker 1: video footage from his phone or footage that he sent
- 2:47Speaker 1: to a friend.
- 2:48Speaker 4: I'm going to read through.
- 2:49Speaker 3: We do have a comment from a couple of people
- 2:52Speaker 3: from Bachelor Nation on the video. Blake Hortzman comments underneath
- 2:58Speaker 3: the video. His comment reads, this is insane. He says,
- 3:03Speaker 3: underneath the TMC video. Let's dive in a little bit
- 3:06Speaker 3: to what the video is. It's a triggering video. It's
- 3:09Speaker 3: not easy to watch. We see the beginning of it's
- 3:14Speaker 3: kind of hard to follow, but as the video progresses
- 3:17Speaker 3: we do see.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I think one of.
- 3:19Speaker 3: The most horrifying moments is there's chairs being thrown and yeah,
- 3:24Speaker 3: there's a daughter in the room with them. I can't
- 3:29Speaker 3: tell from the video if the daughter is struck by
- 3:31Speaker 3: the chair not but the chair does fly across the room,
- 3:35Speaker 3: the daughter is in there. You do hear the daughter crying.
- 3:39Speaker 3: It's how the video ends. This isn't a very long video,
- 3:42Speaker 3: So the backstory of what led to this I'm not
- 3:47Speaker 3: familiar with. Maybe you do know, Ashley.
- 3:50Speaker 1: The backstory is that he does call the police and
- 3:53Speaker 1: she is arrested after this video.
- 3:54Speaker 3: But what led to this argument, like, why did he
- 3:57Speaker 3: decide to pull out his phone?
- 3:59Speaker 1: Nobody knows he's assuming recording this, as he's probably had
- 4:04Speaker 1: instances lead like this leading up to this moment, which
- 4:07Speaker 1: is why he pulled his phone out to record, and
- 4:10Speaker 1: or he thinks that if he shows what she's like
- 4:13Speaker 1: in a moment like this, that she'll stop, because maybe
- 4:17Speaker 1: she like blacks out these moments. We also know that
- 4:20Speaker 1: she doesn't drink anymore, and she said that she stopped
- 4:23Speaker 1: drinking after a moment. It's unclear whether it's the moment
- 4:29Speaker 1: that led to her arrests. I'm not sure about that.
- 4:31Speaker 1: She may have spoken about that before, but this is
- 4:35Speaker 1: around the time that she stopped drinking.
- 4:37Speaker 4: You know this whole thing.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Actually, if I can just speak, the video was released,
- 4:41Speaker 3: so now we have footage of not the most recent
- 4:44Speaker 3: incident that caused the cameras at secret lives of Mormon
- 4:49Speaker 3: wives to shut down, that this was the original incident
- 4:52Speaker 3: that has been known to everyone for a long time.
- 4:57Speaker 3: I don't this is the first time we're seeing the video,
- 4:59Speaker 3: but we now see why the arrest was made in
- 5:02Speaker 3: twenty twenty three. So I want to just speak. I
- 5:07Speaker 3: guess on how I'm processing this. I don't know how
- 5:10Speaker 3: else to talk about it. I'm still standing firm in
- 5:15Speaker 3: this hope that Taylor gets help. She needs help, nobody
- 5:22Speaker 3: behaves this way without getting care and getting clarity and
- 5:28Speaker 3: getting rest and getting some type of professional help beyond
- 5:34Speaker 3: sometimes even talk therapy beyond that. So, because this is disturbing,
- 5:41Speaker 3: there's nothing about this video that's not hard to watch.
- 5:43Speaker 3: It's hard for a grown man to watch, it's hard
- 5:46Speaker 3: for a grown woman to watch. It's hard for anybody
- 5:49Speaker 3: to watch this video because it is it feels. It's scary.
- 5:53Speaker 3: When chairs are being thrown across the room at another human,
- 5:57Speaker 3: it is scary. But how I'm processing this is this
- 6:02Speaker 3: domestic violence is a major issue. I don't understand how
- 6:07Speaker 3: at some level and this has become excusable or something
- 6:12Speaker 3: we can look past it.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Again.
- 6:14Speaker 3: It doesn't mean that Taylor needs to define herself by
- 6:21Speaker 3: this moment. It was a bad moment. It might have
- 6:23Speaker 3: been multiple bad moments, we don't know. It doesn't mean
- 6:26Speaker 3: that that has to define the rest of her life.
- 6:29Speaker 3: I don't want that for anybody. I don't want your
- 6:31Speaker 3: worst moments to ever define you. But what it also
- 6:36Speaker 3: means with her being cast as the lead of the
- 6:39Speaker 3: show is it's almost like we're we've moved on past it,
- 6:43Speaker 3: And I think that was our hope as we broke down.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Frankie Fridays was, Hey, we know we cannot ignore this
- 6:49Speaker 3: thing that happened in twenty twenty three. We know it's
- 6:51Speaker 3: a big deal, but yet her and Dakotas still seemed
- 6:54Speaker 3: to hang out. Obviously, now we know that they slept
- 6:57Speaker 3: together the night before the bachelorette. So whatever happened between
- 7:01Speaker 3: the two of them that caused this arrest has you know,
- 7:05Speaker 3: the parties involved have must come to some like forgiveness
- 7:09Speaker 3: and there must have been some progress forward. That was
- 7:12Speaker 3: kind of from a fan's perspective. I guess how we're
- 7:14Speaker 3: reading into it, but we can't ignore that this has happened.
- 7:19Speaker 3: But I think I was under the assumption, maybe that
- 7:24Speaker 3: she was cast as the lead because this was a
- 7:26Speaker 3: part of her life that everybody felt strongly was far gone.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Right, she quit drinking. That's a huge step. Right.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Drinking is oftentimes a drug that leads to behavior that
- 7:38Speaker 3: we don't, we're not proud of, or that will regret.
- 7:42Speaker 3: So she quit drinking. She took that step. She did
- 7:44Speaker 3: go get the help she talks about in episode one.
- 7:47Speaker 3: She got some help. She spoke about it publicly. So
- 7:52Speaker 3: the only knowledge we had was, hey, everybody's aware of this.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Things have been all parties involved have moved on, and
- 8:00Speaker 3: they've moved on together, and now she's in a new
- 8:02Speaker 3: chapter of life.
- 8:04Speaker 4: But then this incident happens, and we still don't.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Have the clarity on what this incident was that shut
- 8:10Speaker 3: down the filming of Secret Lives and Mormon Wives. But
- 8:15Speaker 3: my question is, like, how could they have cast this? No, Like,
- 8:21Speaker 3: maybe they didn't. I don't want to be an excuse maker,
- 8:23Speaker 3: but maybe they didn't know that this was still something
- 8:26Speaker 3: that she would be susceptible to, that this would be
- 8:28Speaker 3: her reaction to something that was frustrating. But it feels
- 8:35Speaker 3: like we're almost excusing domestic violence. And that is just
- 8:41Speaker 3: I almost feel like weird saying I don't know why
- 8:43Speaker 3: I feel weird saying it's like, it's not okay, how
- 8:45Speaker 3: are we excusing this?
- 8:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it's such a weird situation because obviously a lot
- 8:53Speaker 5: of like really hardcore supporters of Taylor might say, you
- 8:59Speaker 5: guys knew that happened in twenty twenty three and that
- 9:03Speaker 5: she has forgiven you know, she has been forgiven in
- 9:06Speaker 5: some ways by Dakota to the point where they obviously
- 9:09Speaker 5: continue their relationship that she has learned and changed her
- 9:12Speaker 5: lifestyle and all that, and they're gonna say, well, you
- 9:16Speaker 5: knew that.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Going into the casting. And then they're going to say,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and this video is from twenty twenty three, like, can't
- 9:24Speaker 1: hold this against her now that you're seeing it differently
- 9:27Speaker 1: than you would have just knowing that she had been
- 9:29Speaker 1: arrested for it. The fact of the matter is you
- 9:32Speaker 1: can't change how people react to things, and we're going
- 9:35Speaker 1: to react more strongly when we actually see the video,
- 9:39Speaker 1: So the seeing it does change things. And when you
- 9:43Speaker 1: pair it with the fact that this has been three
- 9:46Speaker 1: weeks of something happening over there where it's been shut
- 9:50Speaker 1: down because the girls feel so seriously about whatever recently happened,
- 9:54Speaker 1: it's just it's the combination.
- 10:06Speaker 3: I'm also, you know, as we do this dive, deep
- 10:08Speaker 3: dive into everybody's reactions and what's happening, you know, without
- 10:13Speaker 3: knowing any really details around what happened that caused the
- 10:16Speaker 3: cameras to shut down, a lot of Taylor's biggest supporters
- 10:20Speaker 3: are saying, and I think Taylor's even kind of like
- 10:24Speaker 3: hinted at it that Dakota is like trying to sabotage
- 10:28Speaker 3: her where is that coming from? Without watching the show,
- 10:31Speaker 3: I don't know who he is or his personality, but
- 10:34Speaker 3: where is it coming from that they feel like he
- 10:36Speaker 3: is out to sabotage her?
- 10:39Speaker 1: I don't know that that's Again I haven't watched season
- 10:42Speaker 1: four yet, but I wouldn't say there's anything that we've
- 10:46Speaker 1: seen that they've just been volatile, Like their whole relationship
- 10:50Speaker 1: has been volatile. So I think people are just like,
- 10:53Speaker 1: but he.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Keeps coming back to her, and she keeps coming back
- 10:55Speaker 3: to him.
- 10:56Speaker 1: What's happening is just like the ultimate toxic relationship. And
- 11:00Speaker 1: I think that because we all know it is a
- 11:02Speaker 1: toxic relationship and it's unfolded in front of people's eyes
- 11:05Speaker 1: for like the past two years. Now, I think they
- 11:08Speaker 1: just think, oh, this is his next move because he
- 11:10Speaker 1: hates that she's about to be the bachelorette, or perhaps
- 11:12Speaker 1: he hates the fact that she was engaged, because maybe
- 11:15Speaker 1: she was engaged, and so now he's just trying to
- 11:18Speaker 1: sabotage this opportunity for her. I think that for Secret
- 11:23Speaker 1: Lives to be shut down for three weeks means that
- 11:26Speaker 1: there is evidence that he's not lying about what happened
- 11:29Speaker 1: three weeks ago. And that the other girls are supporting him.
- 11:33Speaker 4: Are they supporting him?
- 11:34Speaker 1: That's just what I'm feeling, Okay, that they are because
- 11:38Speaker 1: they are kind of on strike right now, and I
- 11:42Speaker 1: don't think that they would be on strike if they
- 11:45Speaker 1: didn't have some sort of proof.
- 11:48Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 11:50Speaker 2: What.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Hannah comes in and says, they're not supporting him.
- 11:55Speaker 1: They're not supporting him.
- 11:57Speaker 6: Hi, guys, I'm gonna jump in real fast, be on
- 12:00Speaker 6: another zoom and I'm actually in the car. They they
- 12:04Speaker 6: are fully supporting Taylor to get the help she needs. Yea, they,
- 12:08Speaker 6: but they at this whole season of season four that
- 12:12Speaker 6: I've like, I'm almost done with it. They want Dakoda
- 12:15Speaker 6: off the show because of how he react, because how
- 12:18Speaker 6: he sets Taylor off. Essentially, they do think he sabotages
- 12:21Speaker 6: them or sabotages Taylor anytimes she has something good coming
- 12:26Speaker 6: up or she's ready to move on. He then essentially
- 12:28Speaker 6: like will love bomb her and tell her he loves
- 12:31Speaker 6: her and he wants to marry her and everything's in
- 12:34Speaker 6: the past and that he and like so he does
- 12:37Speaker 6: kind of like mess with her head in this like
- 12:39Speaker 6: sight toxic cycle that they have, and the girls do
- 12:43Speaker 6: see that so they have been very supportive of trying
- 12:45Speaker 6: to get Dakota off the show.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Interesting, so do we see the sabotaging behavior during Secret
- 12:53Speaker 3: Lives It is.
- 12:56Speaker 6: I would say it's a manipulative tactic and it's not
- 12:59Speaker 6: soon were obvious. But there's like a scene where all
- 13:03Speaker 6: the girls go to La for to support Whitney and
- 13:06Speaker 6: jen on Dancing with the Stars and dad Talk comes.
- 13:11Speaker 6: Essentially all the husbands come, but some of the women
- 13:14Speaker 6: say they only come because of the women who have
- 13:17Speaker 6: like young babies to take care of. And then Dakota
- 13:19Speaker 6: shows up when like Taylor was like kind of trying
- 13:23Speaker 6: to like meet a guy and have him over and
- 13:26Speaker 6: Dakota just kind of like crashed it, which led to
- 13:29Speaker 6: like a pretty massive toxic fight, and then I mean
- 13:34Speaker 6: it's bad because then Taylor slept with him, and so
- 13:36Speaker 6: it's just like a really vicious toxic cycle. But I
- 13:39Speaker 6: would say Dakota is not innocent as far as like
- 13:42Speaker 6: emotional abuse and kind of initiating this cycle.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Okay, So I was just referring to them the past
- 13:53Speaker 1: three weeks they feel like but I guess that's a
- 13:58Speaker 1: different situation. They like just don't want her, but don't
- 14:01Speaker 1: They like also not want her to get away with it.
- 14:04Speaker 6: I think they just want her to get the help
- 14:05Speaker 6: that she needs, like that you'll see in this season
- 14:09Speaker 6: season four, they constantly are talking to her about their
- 14:11Speaker 6: trying to support her in a way that's like, you
- 14:14Speaker 6: have this incredible opportunity for the bachelorette, don't ruin it.
- 14:18Speaker 6: So they really try to kind of support her and
- 14:21Speaker 6: trying to get him away. But they realize like anytime
- 14:24Speaker 6: he comes around, it's just like and essentially they the
- 14:28Speaker 6: reason they also think he's sabotages is because it comes
- 14:31Speaker 6: out that he sleeps with a couple of Taylor's close
- 14:33Speaker 6: friends and then before the girls have the app and
- 14:38Speaker 6: then he tells her, so it was like she's four
- 14:40Speaker 6: days away from leaving for the bachelorette and that's when
- 14:43Speaker 6: he decided to like drop the bomb on her that
- 14:45Speaker 6: he slept with some of her friends and it just
- 14:47Speaker 6: like sends her into a spiral. So that's where like
- 14:50Speaker 6: the sabotaging comes from.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Well, thank you, Hannah having It's nice to have somebody
- 14:55Speaker 1: who's seen season four on here. I also have a question,
- 15:00Speaker 1: do you think that the guy do you think that
- 15:02Speaker 1: this is him that released the video. I mean, it's
- 15:05Speaker 1: kind of kind of has to be right, It's got
- 15:07Speaker 1: to be someone or someone very close.
- 15:09Speaker 3: To him, I do.
- 15:10Speaker 6: I mean, yes, I agree with you. It has to
- 15:12Speaker 6: be either him or someone super close there is I mean,
- 15:16Speaker 6: it's obviously his video. It's he's holding the camera, it's
- 15:19Speaker 6: his point of view.
- 15:22Speaker 2: The time.
- 15:22Speaker 6: And I do agree with some people that the timing
- 15:25Speaker 6: of all of this is very suspicious of this like
- 15:28Speaker 6: coming out right now. But regardless of that, this, this
- 15:31Speaker 6: video is horrific and it's it's not okay. But I
- 15:36Speaker 6: mean it's it's got to be him or somebody close
- 15:39Speaker 6: to him. I don't know how else they would get
- 15:40Speaker 6: this video.
- 15:41Speaker 3: I think Hannah just summed it up perfectly. This video
- 15:43Speaker 3: is horrific. It is it's not okay, and fans of
- 15:48Speaker 3: Taylor are not. Like we were sitting here and I
- 15:51Speaker 3: guess we still are going Taylor, like, we've learned a
- 15:54Speaker 3: lot about you, you know, over the last few months,
- 15:57Speaker 3: and it's now this like plea I guess as a
- 16:01Speaker 3: fan of hers, to say, please go get help, take
- 16:06Speaker 3: a break. You've communicated on social media how tired you
- 16:09Speaker 3: are and how strung out you are, and how overwhelming
- 16:12Speaker 3: this has been. You need to put your foot down
- 16:15Speaker 3: and say it's too much for me right now, I
- 16:18Speaker 3: need to take a break this video, no matter when
- 16:21Speaker 3: it happened and when it was released, I think the
- 16:23Speaker 3: timing is suspect. I don't know who it came from
- 16:27Speaker 3: and why it came out now. I don't know that,
- 16:29Speaker 3: And that's a whole different conversation about, you know, trying
- 16:33Speaker 3: to cause chaos in the midst of something good in
- 16:36Speaker 3: somebody else's life, but we don't know the details of that.
- 16:39Speaker 4: But watching this video is not okay.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Like when I watch this video, the contents of this
- 16:44Speaker 3: video is not okay.
- 16:46Speaker 4: It's not good.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Here's my question through it all. And again, I'm somewhat
- 16:50Speaker 3: naive to all this, so I know I'm speaking from
- 16:52Speaker 3: a place of opinions and at sometimes even a lack
- 16:56Speaker 3: of understanding of what all's happening here. I get that,
- 17:00Speaker 3: But I know enough from breaking down everything and researching
- 17:04Speaker 3: the Bachelorette and seeing the lead up to the show,
- 17:08Speaker 3: is this and this isn't a not I don't want
- 17:10Speaker 3: anybody to hear this and think this is a knock
- 17:11Speaker 3: on Taylor or Dakota I don't know these people personally
- 17:16Speaker 3: by it, I don't know them at all. But when
- 17:19Speaker 3: if it was obvious the show and the powers of
- 17:23Speaker 3: be and the fans knew that something bad happened in
- 17:28Speaker 3: twenty twenty three, to what extent we just found out today?
- 17:32Speaker 3: What that you know video showed? Why are we platforming
- 17:36Speaker 3: this couple? Like, let's get all away from the Bachelorette
- 17:40Speaker 3: for a second. We have a Secret Lives and Mormon
- 17:42Speaker 3: Wife show that came out, Like, why is this what
- 17:45Speaker 3: we're representing through a through Disney, a family television, like
- 17:53Speaker 3: a network created to inspire and imagine for the for
- 18:00Speaker 3: kids and adults everywhere. Why is this what we're platforming now?
- 18:05Speaker 3: It doesn't make sense to me.
- 18:07Speaker 1: No, it doesn't make sense.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Am I wrong? Do you disagree?
- 18:11Speaker 1: No? No, no, no, no not. I completely agree. This
- 18:14Speaker 1: is like horrendous. I think it's I think that video
- 18:18Speaker 1: with the child involved in the way that those stools
- 18:21Speaker 1: just flew at him, three of them, It's awful. I
- 18:28Speaker 1: just had to I guess, like, I'm just trying to
- 18:29Speaker 1: think from the perspective of being in their shoes right now.
- 18:34Speaker 1: I think that there must have been something that happened
- 18:38Speaker 1: in February to make Dakota take the actions that she's
- 18:43Speaker 1: making now. Are those close to him, I.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Don't agree with that.
- 18:47Speaker 3: You don't no base on what we're hearing from her
- 18:50Speaker 3: friends and from her is I wonder if he would
- 18:54Speaker 3: have found a way to do this no matter what
- 18:55Speaker 3: he was loved. You know, the rumor is he loves
- 18:58Speaker 3: bombs her right right before a bigger moment.
- 19:00Speaker 1: And especially if he was engaged and happy in a relationship.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Yeah, so maybe this would have like, maybe he would
- 19:05Speaker 3: have found a different way. It doesn't make his behavior
- 19:09Speaker 3: any better. We don't know though, that he even released
- 19:11Speaker 3: a vide Like, we don't know any of that, so
- 19:12Speaker 3: we're just speaking on speculation there.
- 19:15Speaker 4: The video is bad.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I just like, I can't step away from this fact.
- 19:29Speaker 1: And I think the video is so bad. And if
- 19:31Speaker 1: we'd ever seen this video back in August, you know,
- 19:36Speaker 1: when they decided that she was giving a bachelor, there's
- 19:38Speaker 1: no way, if there's actual video footage out there, they
- 19:40Speaker 1: would not have done this. I mean, they couldn't possibly
- 19:43Speaker 1: even if you know, you know, secret lives went on
- 19:46Speaker 1: and all that. We just it's so much different seeing it.
- 19:50Speaker 3: But they were leaning into it, Ashley, This wasn't a
- 19:54Speaker 3: new a new chapter for Taylor's story. This was, you know,
- 19:58Speaker 3: an unpredictable season and a messy season. They were leaning
- 20:03Speaker 3: into this idea that things were gonna be chaotic.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Yeah, no, you're right, they weren't trying to make it
- 20:09Speaker 1: seem I don't know, Sorry, I'm not a loss for
- 20:12Speaker 1: words right now.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Does the show air? Does? Does it come out on Sunday?
- 20:17Speaker 1: No, it can't come out on Sunday. It certainly can't
- 20:20Speaker 1: come out on Sunday. And I think it'd be weird
- 20:22Speaker 1: as hell for to air. You and I have seen
- 20:25Speaker 1: the first episode. You guys, we've already recapped the first
- 20:27Speaker 1: episode on recording. It would be so bizarre to watch
- 20:34Speaker 1: that season after watching that video. We just couldn't do it.
- 20:37Speaker 1: We also have to think about all the guys out
- 20:40Speaker 1: there that signed up for this season and had all
- 20:43Speaker 1: these experiences experiences with her, and now they're seeing this video.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Think about the guy that she chooses. You know, I've
- 20:50Speaker 1: been adamant that I don't think she chooses anyone, and
- 20:52Speaker 1: now that they're spoilers out there, like, I think she
- 20:55Speaker 1: chooses someone, and I just can't imagine being him.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Okay, so summarize all this, I guess to put our
- 21:02Speaker 3: thoughts in concise manner. A video is released by TMZ
- 21:06Speaker 3: showing the altercation between Dakota and Taylor that led to
- 21:12Speaker 3: the twenty twenty three arrest. That video is now out
- 21:15Speaker 3: there everywhere. I mean goodness. It was released an hour
- 21:19Speaker 3: and a half ago and it's on every news cycle
- 21:23Speaker 3: that I can see that when I turn on my
- 21:26Speaker 3: computer or when I turn.
- 21:27Speaker 4: On my phone.
- 21:29Speaker 3: So the video is not good. It's not good at all.
- 21:33Speaker 3: There's nothing to it that isn't hard to watch. It's
- 21:38Speaker 3: in a lot of ways it feels.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Goodness, I'll use Taylor's words.
- 21:44Speaker 3: It's not only heavy, it's also disturbing because there is
- 21:49Speaker 3: this like switch that doesn't flip even in the midst
- 21:52Speaker 3: of a kid in the room chairs being thrown. It's
- 21:57Speaker 3: not like a moment to calm down. It just gets
- 22:01Speaker 3: worse and worse as you watch the video. And now
- 22:05Speaker 3: we sit as our you know, this really anticipated season
- 22:09Speaker 3: of The Bachelorette is supposed to air in just a
- 22:13Speaker 3: few days, and wondering, you know, will it air, should
- 22:17Speaker 3: it air, and if it does air, how do they
- 22:20Speaker 3: even broach the fact that now anybody wants to has seen.
- 22:27Speaker 4: This incident. And then on the back of all that,
- 22:29Speaker 4: we've had an.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Incident in February that's caused the Secret Lives of Mormon
- 22:32Speaker 3: Wives cameras to shut down and for the contestants in
- 22:35Speaker 3: that show to plead for Taylor to get help, as
- 22:39Speaker 3: Hannah shared, and for Dakota to kind of take a
- 22:42Speaker 3: step away from it all because when he's around, it's
- 22:44Speaker 3: not good. It's not just it's not even good TV.
- 22:47Speaker 3: It's just unhealthy for everyone involved. And so there's a
- 22:52Speaker 3: lot of still unknowns. The pieces of the puzzle of
- 22:56Speaker 3: what happened in February are still very much unknown. But
- 23:00Speaker 3: this video did come out, and I do think I
- 23:02Speaker 3: think no matter what, no matter what you feel about this,
- 23:05Speaker 3: no matter what you think about Taylor, no matter like
- 23:08Speaker 3: what side you're on in all of this, and I
- 23:10Speaker 3: don't even know what's like, I don't know enough to
- 23:12Speaker 3: make like strict judgments on this. No matter what, when
- 23:16Speaker 3: this video affects things, even if it was in twenty
- 23:19Speaker 3: twenty three, because it was released, like it or not,
- 23:23Speaker 3: it does affect things because it now gives us, as
- 23:27Speaker 3: actually said a picture of what happened in twenty twenty
- 23:30Speaker 3: three and how bad it was. That makes us go, hey,
- 23:34Speaker 3: you can't ignore it like this. This is too much
- 23:37Speaker 3: in our face now, like it or not, it's going
- 23:39Speaker 3: to change the way this show. And really, I think
- 23:42Speaker 3: Taylor's personal life moves from here.
- 23:46Speaker 1: As Ben mentioned, I just feel like there are a
- 23:52Speaker 1: lot there's no right and wrong. There's right and wrong here.
- 23:54Speaker 1: There's blatant right and wrong here. But there's like a
- 23:57Speaker 1: lot of thoughts and opinions. And I just want to
- 23:59Speaker 1: say that this is us talking out our thoughts and opinions,
- 24:02Speaker 1: like we don't nobody, I don't. There's so much we're
- 24:06Speaker 1: just we're just talking things out.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Yeah, but we're not afraid to say domestic violence is bad.
- 24:10Speaker 1: No, of course, of course we're saying this like this
- 24:13Speaker 1: is what we were saying the denestic volumes is horrible. This
- 24:15Speaker 1: video is horrible. And that is what we know. That
- 24:20Speaker 1: is what we know. Everything else, well, we honestly don't know.
- 24:22Speaker 1: We're talking.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Yeah, but this is not good.
- 24:25Speaker 3: It's not good, and something has to happen, like the
- 24:30Speaker 3: like Disney or ABC. Somebody has to say something at
- 24:35Speaker 3: some point, so we know where the people that are,
- 24:38Speaker 3: you know, pulling the strings, where they what they think
- 24:40Speaker 3: about all this, what they feel about it if they
- 24:42Speaker 3: decide to air the show Sunday. I want to hear
- 24:45Speaker 3: why they're deciding to air this show. Even if it is, Hey,
- 24:48Speaker 3: we've spent our whole budget for the year on this show.
- 24:51Speaker 3: We have to air it or this whole thing goes under.
- 24:53Speaker 3: I want to hear them say that if it's Hey,
- 24:56Speaker 3: I want to know.
- 24:57Speaker 1: I feel for the people who worked on the show,
- 24:59Speaker 1: not the people that put her in this position, but
- 25:01Speaker 1: I feel like she that like everybody that you know,
- 25:06Speaker 1: it works behind the scenes like so much blood, sweat
- 25:08Speaker 1: and tears, and they're excited for the public to see
- 25:10Speaker 1: it and then this is happening. I also want to
- 25:13Speaker 1: mention something that Charity said, and you may have covered
- 25:15Speaker 1: it in the podcast this week, but she said I
- 25:18Speaker 1: think it was Charity. I'm sorry if it wasn't. But
- 25:20Speaker 1: Bachelor alum, whoever you were, said, it's great that we
- 25:24Speaker 1: can that like the show lets you discover so many
- 25:27Speaker 1: things about yourself and it helps you grow and all
- 25:29Speaker 1: of that could take you away from a bad situation
- 25:32Speaker 1: at home. But it's also not mental health like therapy.
- 25:35Speaker 1: It's not like a retreat center that's going to cure
- 25:39Speaker 1: your issues. And if her girls at Secret Lives really
- 25:45Speaker 1: wanted her to get help and thought that she really
- 25:48Speaker 1: needed it, I'm not believing them. But like, if he
- 25:51Speaker 1: was already in that position over the summer where she
- 25:53Speaker 1: was needing help, the bachelor reat wasn't the place to
- 25:57Speaker 1: get her therapy.
- 25:58Speaker 3: No, somebody, I mean, I would hope somebody that cared
- 26:01Speaker 3: about her would have stepped in and been like, hey,
- 26:03Speaker 3: maybe not now, Like this opportunity is probably going to
- 26:05Speaker 3: exist for you in another year. It would probably let's
- 26:10Speaker 3: just take it, take some time. As stuff comes out,
- 26:13Speaker 3: we'll continue to jump on talk about it. A lot's happening. Goodness,
- 26:17Speaker 3: it feels like the last week has been a year Lee,
- 26:21Speaker 3: you know, and it's leading up to Sunday's premiere of
- 26:25Speaker 3: a very anticipated season of The Bachelorette that I know
- 26:28Speaker 3: they put a ton of time, effort, and money behind.
- 26:31Speaker 4: And it's one of the reasons.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Why I would love to hear what they have to say,
- 26:35Speaker 3: like what are they thinking, how are they navigating this?
- 26:39Speaker 3: It would bring a lot of a lot of clarity
- 26:44Speaker 3: and it would sure up a lot of the things
- 26:45Speaker 3: that we're speculating honestly right now and that fans are speculating.
- 26:52Speaker 4: But we'll see. We'll be back until next time. I've
- 26:55Speaker 4: been Ben, I've been Ashley.
