A's Lock In Top Draft Picks | Oakland Athletics News
Oakland Athletics just locked down two top draft picks—Drew Burress (8th overall) and Mason Edwards (47th)—both signing above-slot bonuses. Burress, a power-hitting outfielder from Georgia Tech, gets $7.5M after smashing 60 homers in college and could play center field. Edwards, a dominant USC lefty, secures $2.4M with elite stuff including a nasty fastball and curveball. Deals are confirmed by sources, marking a major win for the A’s as they stockpile high-potential talent for the future.
