• 0:01
Speaker 1: Welcome in his verdicous center, Ted Cruz Ben Ferguson with you,
• 0:04
Speaker 1: and it's so nice to have you with us. If
• 0:06
Speaker 1: you're listening on a radio station around the country, Welcome.

• 0:17
Speaker 1: to us on radio stations across the country.
• 0:19
  Speaker 2: Center.
• 0:20
Speaker 1: We have got a lot to talk about in this show,
• 0:22
Speaker 1: including a major breakthrough in the pipe bomb case in DC.
• 0:25
Speaker 2: Well after nearly five years, the pipe Bomber, the alleged
• 0:29
Speaker 2: pipe bomber who planted pipe bombs at the DNC and
• 0:34
Speaker 2: the RNC on January fifth, twenty twenty one, has been arrested.
• 0:39
Speaker 2: The FBI announced they've arrested The Department of Justice announced
• 0:42
Speaker 2: they've arrested him. His name is Brian J. Cole Junior,
• 0:48
Speaker 2: thirty years old of Woodridge, Virginia. He was arrested. The
• 0:52
Speaker 2: FBI laid out considerable evidence they have. It raises the
• 0:55
Speaker 2: immediate question, why the heck did this take five years
• 0:58
Speaker 2: to find this guy? Because the evidence they had it
• 1:01
Speaker 2: sounds like they've had for a long long time. Which
• 1:05
Speaker 2: obviously begs the question what was the Biden Department of
• 1:08
Speaker 2: Justice doing that they were not arresting this guy. We're
• 1:11
Speaker 2: gonna break all that down for you. We're also going
• 1:13
Speaker 2: to talk about three major events I had this week
• 1:17
Speaker 2: at the White House. Monday, I was at the White
• 1:20
Speaker 2: House where the President signed a bill, the Metal Act,
• 1:23
Speaker 2: that I authored into law. Tuesday, I was at the
• 1:25
Speaker 2: White House where the President and I both were joined
• 1:28
Speaker 2: with Michael Dell, who gave six and a quarter billion
• 1:32
Speaker 2: dollars to kids of America to put into Trump accounts.
• 1:36
Speaker 2: It was incredible generosity. And then Wednesday, I was at
• 1:40
Speaker 2: the White House with the President as he was announcing
• 1:44
Speaker 2: that he was zeroing out cafe standards, again legislation that
• 1:47
Speaker 2: I authored. We're going to tell you about all three
• 1:49
Speaker 2: of those. The cafe standards are going to make cars
• 1:53
Speaker 2: and trucks cheaper for you and also save lives and
• 1:55
Speaker 2: make you safe. For all of that we're covering in
• 1:57
  Speaker 2: today's podcast.
• 1:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really in credible what the President did for
• 2:01
Speaker 1: Americans this week. Let me take a moment and tell
• 2:03
Speaker 1: you real quick about an amazing adventure that we're going
• 2:06
Speaker 1: to be going on. And I want to invite you
• 2:08
Speaker 1: to Operation Overlord the D Day Beaches, and you and
• 2:12
  Speaker 1: I share a passion for history, so I hope you'll
• 2:15
Speaker 1: join me next spring on the D Day Beaches in Normandy.
• 2:19
Speaker 1: That's right, the invasion that sealed Hitler's doom, Omaha and Utah.
• 2:24

• 2:27

Speaker 1: text message for Myheartmedia and I'll see you on the
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: shah Ze Lese.
• 3:23
Speaker 2: So center, let's go to this.
• 3:25
Speaker 1: It really is shocking that it took this long to
• 3:28
Speaker 1: find someone that planted pipe bombs in Washington, d C.
• 3:32
Speaker 1: It is very important that people understand this did not
• 3:36
Speaker 1: happen because of a new tip that came into the
• 3:40
Speaker 1: FBI or into law enforcement anywhere. This was just going
• 3:43
Speaker 1: back and looking at the evidence they already had and
• 3:46
Speaker 1: doing real police work to figure it out. It is
• 3:50
Speaker 1: shocking that the prior administration did not apparently think this
• 3:53
Speaker 1: was an important enough issue, and this administration did. And
• 3:57
Speaker 1: now we know who did it.
• 3:59
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 3:59
Speaker 2: The deal announced that during twenty nineteen and twenty twenty,
• 4:03
Speaker 2: Cole purchased multiple components consisted with those used to manufacture
• 4:08
Speaker 2: the pipe bombs at several retailers in northern Virginia, so
• 4:11
Speaker 2: they have his purchase history, and at approximately one pm
• 4:15
Speaker 2: on January sixth, multiple law enforcement agencies received notice of
• 4:20
Speaker 2: the pipe bombs. At about one point fifteen pm, the
• 4:25
Speaker 2: second pipe bomb was reported, the first one at the RNC,
• 4:27
Speaker 2: the second one at the DNC. Video surveillance determined that
• 4:32
Speaker 2: this same individual placed the devices the evening of January fifth.
• 4:37
Speaker 2: On January fifth, about seven to ten pm, Cole's Nissan
• 4:41
Speaker 2: CenTra was observed driving past a license plate reader at
• 4:45
Speaker 2: the South Capitol Street exit from I thirty five South,
• 4:48
Speaker 2: which is less than a half mile from the location
• 4:50
Speaker 2: where the pipe bombs were. Cell Phone records further show
• 4:53
Speaker 2: that Cole's cell phone communicated with cell towers in the
• 4:57
Speaker 2: area of the RNC and DNC I mean seven thirty
• 5:01
Speaker 2: nine pm and eight twenty four pm. This evidence, there's
• 5:05
Speaker 2: no reason to think that this evidence wasn't in the
• 5:09
Speaker 2: possession of the FBI four and a half years ago,
• 5:12
Speaker 2: and it is infuriating. It. It raises a real question,
• 5:16
Speaker 2: what the hell was the Biden DOJ doing. Well, I'll
• 5:19
Speaker 2: tell you what they were doing. They were chasing down
• 5:22
Speaker 2: every little old lady who stood on the National Mall
• 5:24
Speaker 2: and sang God bless America. And they were persecuting them
• 5:28
Speaker 2: and trying to go after their political enemies instead of
• 5:31
Speaker 2: actually going after a violent criminal who planted pipe bombs
• 5:35
Speaker 2: that could have killed or injured a whole lot of people.
• 5:40
Speaker 2: You and I on this podcast repeatedly called on the
• 5:42
Speaker 2: Department of Justice go and find and prosecute the pipe bomber. Now, look,
• 5:47
Speaker 2: at this point, we don't know full details about this individual,
• 5:51
Speaker 2: but he certainly does not appear to be a Trump supporter,
• 5:57
Speaker 2: which is of course what every report, what every media
• 6:02
Speaker 2: outlet blamed it on Trump supporters these pipe bombs, and
• 6:06
Speaker 2: based on the early information, there are no indications that
• 6:09
Speaker 2: he was a Trump supporter.
• 6:10
Speaker 1: In fact, the early information is and if it holds
• 6:13
Speaker 1: to be true, is it complete opposite of that that
• 6:16
Speaker 1: this was a radical leftist.
• 6:17
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 6:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, Now now it's still early, and so what we
• 6:20
Speaker 2: We'll find out more facts in the days going forward,
• 6:23
Speaker 2: But I want you to listen to Pam Bondi when
• 6:24
Speaker 2: she was announcing the arrest.
• 6:26
Speaker 4: Early this morning. Brian Cole Junior was arrested and charged
• 6:32
Speaker 4: with placing the pipe bombs at the RNC and the
• 6:36
Speaker 4: DNC on January fifth, twenty twenty one. He has been
• 6:40
Speaker 4: charged with violating eighteen USC. Eight forty four, which is
• 6:45
Speaker 4: use of an explosive device. This investigation is ongoing as
• 6:50
Speaker 4: we speak, search warrants are being executed, and there could
• 6:54
Speaker 4: be more charges to come. Today's arrest happened because the
• 6:59
Speaker 4: Trump administry has made this case a priority. The total
• 7:05
Speaker 4: lack of movement on this case, this cold case languished
• 7:10
Speaker 4: for four years until Director Patel and Deputy Director Bongino
• 7:17
Speaker 4: came to the FBI. The FBI, along with US Attorney
• 7:23
Speaker 4: Piro and all of our prosecutors have worked tirelessly for
• 7:28
Speaker 4: months sifting through evidence that had been sitting at the
• 7:33
Speaker 4: FBI with the Biden administration.
• 7:36
Speaker 2: For four long years.
• 7:39
Speaker 4: Let me be clear, there was no new tip, There
• 7:42
Speaker 4: was no new witness, just good diligent police work and
• 7:47
  Speaker 4: prosecutorial work.
• 7:49
Speaker 1: You listen to Pambonni there, Senator, and it is clear
• 7:52
Speaker 1: she's angry, and Americans should be angry.
• 7:55
Speaker 2: There was nothing new here.
• 7:57
Speaker 1: They just took what they had and did their job well.
• 8:01
Speaker 2: And I'll tell you Merrick Garland needs to be held
• 8:03
Speaker 2: accountable and answer the question why, if they had this evidence,
• 8:07
Speaker 2: this individual wasn't arrested and wasn't prosecuted. Chris Ray, the
• 8:11
Speaker 2: former director of the FBI, needs to answer that same question,
• 8:14
Speaker 2: because it certainly appears that the Biden dooj did not
• 8:19
Speaker 2: want to find this individual. It was not a priority,
• 8:24
Speaker 2: and when they were asked about it before, they would
• 8:26
Speaker 2: just throw up their hands and say we're doing the
• 8:28
Speaker 2: best we can. It turns out when you actually have
• 8:30
Speaker 2: an Attorney general who is focused on going after the
• 8:33
Speaker 2: bad guys. That's exactly what you do, Senator.
• 8:36
Speaker 1: I want to also just go back to echoing the
• 8:39
Speaker 1: part that you mentioned there about Pam Bondy and she's angry.
• 8:42
Speaker 1: Dan Bongino came out saying very much the same thing,
• 8:46
Speaker 1: and I want to play it for everybody because when
• 8:48
Speaker 1: he came out, not only was he saying, hey, I
• 8:51
Speaker 1: want to say thank you to everybody on this team
• 8:54
Speaker 1: because this was teamwork, but this was also a moment
• 8:57
Speaker 1: where we just decided to do our jobs. And when
• 8:59
Speaker 1: you let law enforcement do their jobs, these are the
• 9:03
Speaker 1: types of results that you get. Take a list in
• 9:05
Speaker 1: to bon Gino in his own words, folks, this is.
• 9:07
Speaker 5: What it's like when you work for a president who
• 9:09
Speaker 5: tells you to go get the bad guys and stop
• 9:11
Speaker 5: focusing on other extraneous things not related to law enforcement.
• 9:15
Speaker 5: This is what happens. We had a great team. I
• 9:17
Speaker 5: know it's said a lot in this business. It was
• 9:19
Speaker 5: a team effort. Becomes cliche, but cliches are useful for
• 9:22
Speaker 5: a reason because they matter, and this was a team effort.
• 9:26
Speaker 5: The Director and the Attorney General emphasized that it was
• 9:28
Speaker 5: not a new public tip. This came from. This was
• 9:31
Speaker 5: our internal work at the FBI, and I want to
• 9:35
Speaker 5: just really express my sincere gratitude to this Attorney General
• 9:40
Speaker 5: and this president for allowing us the latitude. I spoke
• 9:43
Speaker 5: with Mss Bondi very early when we maybe day two,
• 9:47
Speaker 5: and I said, we're going to get this guy, and
• 9:49
Speaker 5: she said, as you are, and we did. I want
• 9:52
Speaker 5: also thank you, not here but Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche,
• 9:55
Speaker 5: who we deal with often as well, who could not
• 9:57
Speaker 5: have been more supportive whatever process we need. Judge Janine
• 10:02
Speaker 5: Todd and an Attorney General Bondi, they were there. All
• 10:06
Speaker 5: you had to do. They were a phone call away,
• 10:08
Speaker 5: and their team was amazing. We actually never had to
• 10:10
Speaker 5: make that phone call because they were always responsive. Thank you, Judge,
• 10:13
Speaker 5: as while you were amazing folks, You're not going to
• 10:17
Speaker 5: walk into our capital city, put down two explosive devices
• 10:22
Speaker 5: and walk off in the sunset. Not going to happen.
• 10:26
Speaker 5: We were going to track this person to the end
• 10:28
Speaker 5: of the earth. There was no way he was getting away. Well,
• 10:31
Speaker 5: we didn't have to track him to the end of
• 10:33
Speaker 5: the earth. That wound up in Woodbridge, Virginia. I want
• 10:36
Speaker 5: to thank the team. They were amazing. They never let
• 10:39
Speaker 5: this go again. Attorney General Bondi, for your incredible support,
• 10:44
Speaker 5: Director Patel Judge. I know they're giving me a lot
• 10:48
Speaker 5: of unnecessary credit, but make no mistake, they were intimately
• 10:51
Speaker 5: involved in this and were there for all of those
• 10:53
Speaker 5: supportive mechanisms, and I deeply appreciate it.
• 10:58
Speaker 1: You listen there to not only the way that Pambondi
• 11:01
Speaker 1: talked about it, but also Dan Bonino, and they are
• 11:04
Speaker 1: echoing the same thing. I think there's two points here
• 11:07
Speaker 1: that I want to get you to expand on. Number One,
• 11:09
Speaker 1: this is just letting law enforcement do their job and
• 11:12
Speaker 1: not do political operative jobs, which is what they clearly
• 11:16
Speaker 1: were being told to do after January sixth. Go find
• 11:18
Speaker 1: the grandmothers, Go find anybody was there, find anybody that
• 11:21
Speaker 1: was associated with anything in and around the Capitol, and
• 11:24
Speaker 1: then go hunt them down. Forget the actual terrorist, a
• 11:26
Speaker 1: guy making pipe bombs. But also there's a team work
• 11:30
Speaker 1: here that I have not seen in a very long
• 11:33
Speaker 1: time in law enforcement. It's not conservative, it's just law
• 11:36
Speaker 1: enforcement working together. I love hearing that. It makes me
• 11:40
Speaker 1: feel as an American that they're on my side trying
• 11:42
Speaker 1: to keep me safe.
• 11:44
Speaker 2: Well, this is law enforcement actually doing their jobs targeting
• 11:47
Speaker 2: violent criminals. This is the Department of Justice and the FBI.
• 11:50
Speaker 2: And if you look this past year under President Trump,
• 11:53
Speaker 2: DOJ and the FBI, they've been going after murderers and
• 11:57
Speaker 2: rapists and child molesters. They've been going after gang and
• 12:00
Speaker 2: illegal aliens and human traffickers. They've been going after narco traffickers.
• 12:04
Speaker 2: I got to say, if you're down in Venezuela and
• 12:07
Speaker 2: anyone asks you to drive a speedboat with some drugs
• 12:10
Speaker 2: in the back, you know you may just call in
• 12:12
Speaker 2: sick that day because it doesn't turn out too It's
• 12:14
  Speaker 2: a fishing boat.
• 12:15
Speaker 1: Senator, Come on, now, don't you know you need seven
• 12:17
Speaker 1: engines and a whole lot of cocaine to do good
• 12:20
  Speaker 1: fish heating.
• 12:20
Speaker 2: Come on, it is. They are systematically focused on violent criminals, including,
• 12:26
Speaker 2: as Dan Bongino just said, someone who planted two pipe
• 12:32
Speaker 2: bombs in the middle of Washington, d C. That's what
• 12:35
Speaker 2: law enforcement is supposed to do. It's not supposed to
• 12:37
Speaker 2: do what it did under Biden, which is be a
• 12:40
Speaker 2: political arm to target and prosecute and persecute your political opponents.
• 12:45
Speaker 2: And and look Pambondi and cash Battel and Dan Bongino
• 12:49
Speaker 2: all came in with a mission of restoring integrity to
• 12:52
Speaker 2: the Department of Justice and the FBI. I think today
• 12:54
Speaker 2: was an important step in that journey.
• 12:57
Speaker 1: You know, there's a lot of good men and women
• 12:58
Speaker 1: that work of the FBI, and I think this is
• 13:00
Speaker 1: a perfect moment center where we should just highlight this.
• 13:05
Speaker 1: There are a lot of people that just want to
• 13:07
Speaker 1: do law enforcement. And what I do think you're now
• 13:10
Speaker 1: witnessing is the good men and women in uniform in
• 13:15
Speaker 1: multiple levels, whether it's local or state, whether it's dealing
• 13:18
  Speaker 1: with illegal.
• 13:19
Speaker 2: That's right, But listen, there were also too many people
• 13:23
Speaker 2: who were politicized and who were obstructing justice, who were
• 13:27
Speaker 2: standing in the way. He know what, there are people
• 13:30
Speaker 2: who were at the FBI, who were at DOJ who
• 13:32
Speaker 2: knew of this evidence and they didn't act, And I
• 13:36
Speaker 2: think we have every right to get answers to why
• 13:40
Speaker 2: didn't they act and was there a political or partisan agenda?
• 13:44
Speaker 1: That was my question is there's good men and women
• 13:47
Speaker 1: that are now clearly getting to do their job. There's
• 13:50
Speaker 1: clearly was leadership and those that didn't want this job
• 13:54
Speaker 1: to be done. That's literally the question I was about
• 13:58
Speaker 1: to ask you, what is it howount ability look like
• 14:01
Speaker 1: now for those that may still be there that obviously
• 14:04
Speaker 1: knew they had this information and they said on it
• 14:07
Speaker 1: or deliberately said don't go find this.
• 14:09
Speaker 2: Person, well look, i'll tell you. One of the very
• 14:12
Speaker 2: first steps is they need to be brought in before
• 14:15
Speaker 2: Congress to answer questions under oath and answer questions under
• 14:18
Speaker 2: oath about why they didn't act on this evidence. Did
• 14:21
Speaker 2: they have it, when did they have it, and why
• 14:23
Speaker 2: didn't they act? And and I think that.
• 14:25
Speaker 1: Direct step to ask that's what I want to know.
• 14:27
Speaker 1: I want to know if this was a straight up
• 14:29
Speaker 1: directive of hey, leave this alone.
• 14:31
Speaker 2: And by the way, the current DOJ and FBI, if
• 14:35
Speaker 2: they were directed not to act, and it is in writing,
• 14:38
Speaker 2: the current DOJ and FBI have that email or that memorandum,
• 14:42
Speaker 2: and I expect the DOJ and FBI to provide those
• 14:46
Speaker 2: to Congress, provide those to the public. What I've urged
• 14:49
Speaker 2: Pambondi and Cash Bettel and Dan Bongino is radical transparency
• 14:55
Speaker 2: is the best cure for the politicization and the corruption
• 14:59
Speaker 2: we saw DOJ and the FBI under Joe Biden.
• 15:02
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's going to be very interesting to see what
• 15:04
Speaker 1: we get out of this. What I also say is
• 15:07
Speaker 1: this is exactly what I voted for. I wanted law
• 15:10
Speaker 1: enforcement to actually be winning again and do their job
• 15:13
Speaker 1: and not be politicized and not be weaponized for political reasons.
• 15:17
  Speaker 1: I think there's so many Americans and I don't care
• 15:19
Speaker 1: if you're a Republican or a Democrat. You should sleep
• 15:21
Speaker 1: better knowing this makes all us safer. Yeah, we're all safer.
• 15:25
Speaker 1: Like this was a pipe bom at the Republican and
• 15:27
Speaker 1: Democratic Convention. You know, buildings, there's people that could have
• 15:31
Speaker 1: been there that could have been killed of every party, every.
• 15:34
Speaker 2: Marketing criminals, locking up criminals, protects our families. It keeps
• 15:39
Speaker 2: ourselves and our children safer. That is a very good thing.
• 15:43
Speaker 2: That is the President delivering on his promises.
• 15:48
Speaker 1: All right, So Center on Monday, I just want to
• 15:51
Speaker 1: make this very clear. You were at the White House.
• 15:54
  Speaker 1: I didn't get invitedn't, But I thought Tuesday I'd clear
• 15:57
Speaker 1: my schedule. No, No, Tuesday didn't invited. And then I'm like, well,
• 16:00
Speaker 1: surely he's saving it for Wednesday because Wednesday is going
• 16:03
Speaker 1: to be a better day. I'm still waiting. I'm three
• 16:06
Speaker 1: days Center, you're there, three days. I was sitting here
• 16:08
Speaker 1: just waiting for Hey, Ben, you should come with me
• 16:10
Speaker 1: over here to the White House. You've been there before.
• 16:12
  Speaker 1: It's a great place. We're going to celebrate America's work.
• 16:15
Speaker 1: Monday Tuesday went like, how many days if you go
• 16:18
Speaker 1: five days in a row do I get the invite?
• 16:19
Speaker 2: I just got to know, Well, look, I'm confident you
• 16:21
Speaker 2: were playing golf, and that's okay, that's that that that
• 16:23
Speaker 2: that's good for you to do, and and and you
• 16:25
Speaker 2: only have you you only have another couple of months
• 16:28
Speaker 2: that you can still beat your young sons and they're
• 16:30
Speaker 2: still going to be able to just whip you up
• 16:32
Speaker 2: and down the golf course.
• 16:34
  Speaker 4: Uh.
• 16:34
Speaker 2: But look this this was a busy week. This was
• 16:36
Speaker 2: a busy week. I had three different events at the
• 16:38
Speaker 2: White House, one on Monday, one on Tuesday, one on Wednesday.
• 16:41
Speaker 2: Each was a different major announcement. So it was a
• 16:44
Speaker 2: very productive week. Monday, it started out with the President
• 16:48
Speaker 2: signing into law the Medals Act. The Medals Act is
• 16:50
Speaker 2: a bill that I wrote that deals with Medal of
• 16:53
Speaker 2: Honor recipients. Medal of Honor recipients are those service servicemen
• 16:58
Speaker 2: who who have distinguished themselves with exceptional valor. They're only
• 17:04
Speaker 2: sixty one living Medal of Honor recipients. The vast majority
• 17:09
Speaker 2: of Medal Honor recipients they received the medal posthumously. In
• 17:15
Speaker 2: most of the instances, they lose their lives demonstrating extraordinary
• 17:19
Speaker 2: heroism and bravery. Under existing law, Medal of Honor recipients
• 17:25
Speaker 2: receive a monthly stipend of one four hundred dollars a month.
• 17:30
Speaker 2: That's not very much money. What the Medals Act did
• 17:34
Speaker 2: is essentially triple that amount. So it increased it from
• 17:38
Speaker 2: one thousand, four hundred dollars a month to five thousand,
• 17:41
Speaker 2: six hundred dollars a month. And so I authored that
• 17:45
Speaker 2: legislation in the Senate. It passed the Senate unanimously, it
• 17:49
Speaker 2: passed the House unanimously, and then on Monday, the President
• 17:53
Speaker 2: signed it in the law. We were joined by three
• 17:55
Speaker 2: Medal of Honor recipients who were there. And I'll tell
• 17:58
Speaker 2: you one of the reasons it it's so meaningful a
• 18:02
Speaker 2: to to say thank you, thank you to these incredible
• 18:06
  Speaker 2: real life heroes.
• 18:08
  Speaker 1: Amen.
• 18:08
Speaker 2: But b many of these Medal of Honor recipients take
• 18:13
Speaker 2: their time, they go around talking to schools, they go
• 18:15
Speaker 2: around talking uh, talking to sebastatherings. They inspire people, and
• 18:20
Speaker 2: that takes a lot of time, and this stipend gives
• 18:23
Speaker 2: gives them an ability to have some basic monicum of income.
• 18:28
Speaker 2: And so it was really glad to see. It took
• 18:30
Speaker 2: about two years to get this done, to build the
• 18:32
Speaker 2: bipartisan support to move it through Congress. The President has
• 18:35
Speaker 2: signed it, and and we're now giving those Medal of
• 18:39
Speaker 2: Honor recipients the respect that they are due.
• 18:41
Speaker 1: I got to say when you said it was unanimous,
• 18:43
Speaker 1: we haven't said that word on this show in years.
• 18:46
Speaker 2: That is really cool.
• 18:47
Speaker 1: It does give me just a little bit of hope
• 18:50
Speaker 1: that people realize that when you sacrifice the way these
• 18:54
Speaker 1: recipients do, you deserve to be taken care of afterwards
• 18:57
  Speaker 1: as well well.
• 18:59
Speaker 2: And and when when I passed it on the floor
• 19:00
Speaker 2: of the Senate, several of the Medal Honor recipients had
• 19:03
Speaker 2: come come to the Senate and they were sitting in
• 19:05
Speaker 2: the gallery watching it. And and afterwards we were down
• 19:09
Speaker 2: at the bottom of the Senate steps and a group
• 19:13
Speaker 2: of of eighth graders, eighth grade kids came by. I
• 19:17
Speaker 2: think they were from Michigan, if I remember correctly. And
• 19:19
Speaker 2: they spotted me, and some of them recognized me, and
• 19:22
Speaker 2: so they came up and wanted to take pictures and
• 19:24
Speaker 2: talk and and I told them, look, I'm happy to
• 19:27
Speaker 2: chat with you, but I said, I want to introduce
• 19:29
Speaker 2: you to these two gentlemen I'm standing with because both
• 19:33
Speaker 2: of them earned the Medal of Honor by risking their lives,
• 19:38
Speaker 2: nearly dying and saving the lives of their fellow servicemen
• 19:42
Speaker 2: and women. And I will tell you, Ben, the look
• 19:44
Speaker 2: of wonderment in these little boy and little girl's faces
• 19:48
Speaker 2: as they listened to these these heroes tell their story.
• 19:53
Speaker 2: It gave a great opportunity for me just to step
• 19:55
Speaker 2: back and recede and watch that moment inspiration right there
• 20:01
Speaker 2: at the base of the steps of the Senate.
• 20:03
Speaker 1: That's incredible. And that was just Monday. So Tuesday, you
• 20:05
Speaker 1: have this big victory on Monday. That's bipartisan. What a
• 20:09
Speaker 1: great way to start the week. You rarely get to
• 20:11
Speaker 1: do that in your whole career. Tuesday you're back of
• 20:13
  Speaker 1: the White House.
• 20:14
Speaker 2: What happened then, So Tuesday was a massive announcement. We've
• 20:18
Speaker 2: talked before about the Trump Accounts. The Trump Accounts is
• 20:21
Speaker 2: legislation that I authored. It was part of the one
• 20:24
  Speaker 2: Big Beautiful Bill.
• 20:26
  Speaker 5: Man.
• 20:26
Speaker 1: I want to remind people what I do. Want to
• 20:28
Speaker 1: brag on you for a second. This could have been
• 20:30
Speaker 1: taken out of the Big Beautiful Bill. You felt so
• 20:33
Speaker 1: strongly about it center. You did not let this get
• 20:37
Speaker 1: kicked out. You didn't let it go. You fought tooth
• 20:40
Speaker 1: and nail, and it was a hard fight. I want
• 20:42
Speaker 1: to also make that very clear. This was not an
• 20:43
Speaker 1: easy fight because you felt like this could be so
• 20:47
Speaker 1: transformative in one generation, to building well for all Americans
• 20:52
Speaker 1: and giving kids an incredible opportunity to grow and to
• 20:55
Speaker 1: invest early on. There's so many things. I hope you
• 20:58
Speaker 1: go back from investing. I talked to one banker about
• 21:00
Speaker 1: this week. He said, you know, the number one reason
• 21:02
Speaker 1: why people don't invest when they're younger, or when they
• 21:05
Speaker 1: don't feel like they make a lot of minds. They're
• 21:07
Speaker 1: embarrassed to go in and open an account with a
• 21:09
Speaker 1: small amount of money, so they just don't do it.
• 21:12
Speaker 1: And he said, we believe. He said, I'm almost into
• 21:14
Speaker 1: my banking career. This could transform an entire nation and
• 21:18
Speaker 1: a generation into not being afraid to open account but
• 21:22
Speaker 1: embracing it, watching it grow having ownership of it and
• 21:26
Speaker 1: seeing the power of compound interests. And I haven't seen
• 21:29
Speaker 1: bankers get giddy very often. This banker was genuinely giddy
• 21:34
Speaker 1: for the future, Countess.
• 21:35
Speaker 2: And I'll tell you, Ben, it's not just compound interest,
• 21:37
Speaker 2: it's compound growth. Because these accounts will be invested in
• 21:42
Speaker 2: the S and P. Five hundred, they're invested in the
• 21:43
Speaker 2: stock market. Every kid in America is going to become
• 21:46
Speaker 2: an owner of the biggest employers in America. That's transformative.
• 21:50
Speaker 2: That's making a whole new generation of capitalists.
• 21:53
  Speaker 3: You know.
• 21:53
Speaker 2: At the White House on Tuesday, I told President Trump,
• 21:56
Speaker 2: I said, all of your credits. Your critics will never
• 21:59
Speaker 2: give you credit. There is a good argument that you
• 22:03
Speaker 2: have done more for kids in America than any president
• 22:06
Speaker 2: in our lifetime. Why is that because he number one
• 22:09
Speaker 2: signed the School Choice Provision, which which I had the
• 22:12
Speaker 2: great honor of writing and putting in the one big,
• 22:14
Speaker 2: beautiful bill that will unleash tens of billions of dollars
• 22:18
Speaker 2: in scholarships for kids in K through twelve education all
• 22:21
Speaker 2: across the country. And number two, he signed it a law.
• 22:24
Speaker 2: The Trump accounts and that impact together, I think you
• 22:28
Speaker 2: could say there's never been a president that has impacted
• 22:30
Speaker 2: kids more. Here's how I explained it at the press
• 22:34
Speaker 2: conference with the President. Starting on July fourth, every child
• 22:38
Speaker 2: in America will have a personal investment account opened for them.
• 22:41
Speaker 2: Newborn children will have it seated with one thousand dollars.
• 22:45
Speaker 2: Parents and family and employers can contribute up to five
• 22:48
Speaker 2: thousand a year and a tax advantaged account. That money
• 22:52
Speaker 2: will be invested in the S and P five hundred
• 22:54
Speaker 2: and the stock market broad based Equity Index account. Two
• 22:59
Speaker 2: massive benefits that change this country. Number One, every child
• 23:02
Speaker 2: in America will experience the benefits of compound growth. Take
• 23:07
Speaker 2: a little girl born next year. She's born next year,
• 23:11
Speaker 2: she has the account opened for her. One thousand dollars
• 23:14
Speaker 2: is automatically seated. Her parents or family or an employer
• 23:17
Speaker 2: puts five thousand a year each year into that account.
• 23:21
Speaker 2: If you assume the historic rate of growth of the
• 23:23
Speaker 2: S and P five hundred, which is seven percent a year,
• 23:26
Speaker 2: by the time that little girl is eighteen, she will
• 23:29
Speaker 2: have one hundred and seventy thousand dollars in that account.
• 23:33
Speaker 2: And if she keeps saving, by the time that little
• 23:36
Speaker 2: girl is thirty five, she will have seven hundred thousand
• 23:41
Speaker 2: dollars in that account. That is game changing. And we're
• 23:45
Speaker 2: not talking the children of Michael and Susan Dell, the
• 23:47
Speaker 2: children of Donald Trump, the children of people of great success.
• 23:50
Speaker 2: We're talking the kids of a single mom waiting tables,
• 23:54
Speaker 2: who could have seven hundred thousand dollars saved by the
• 23:56
Speaker 2: time she's thirty five, to get an education, to start
• 23:59
Speaker 2: a business, to buy a house. That changes their whole lives.
• 24:03
Speaker 2: But the second benefit, and what I'm really excited about,
• 24:07
Speaker 2: is we are creating a new generation of capitalists. Every
• 24:12
Speaker 2: child in America is going to be an owner of
• 24:14
Speaker 2: the biggest employers in this country. We've all seen the
• 24:18
Speaker 2: sad statistics of how many kids are losing faith in capitalism. Well,
• 24:23
Speaker 2: ten years from now, a little boy is going to
• 24:25
Speaker 2: pull out his phone and he's going to look at
• 24:26
Speaker 2: his app and he's going to see his Trump account,
• 24:30
Speaker 2: And instead of thinking of big, bad, scary corporations, that
• 24:33
Speaker 2: little boy is going to say, I own fifty bucks
• 24:36
Speaker 2: of Apple, I own one hundred bucks of Dell, I
• 24:39
Speaker 2: own seventy five bucks of McDonald's. And every child is
• 24:43
Speaker 2: an owner of the biggest employers in this country. That
• 24:46
Speaker 2: will transform this country. Mister President, thank you for signing it.
• 24:51
Speaker 1: You know you just said something there at that speech
• 24:54
Speaker 1: the White House Center that I also think is incredible,
• 24:57
Speaker 1: the private sector getting in on this in wanting to
• 25:00
Speaker 1: see these accounts. Michael Dell his wife there, they gave
• 25:03
Speaker 1: an incredible amount of money because they want kids to succeed.
• 25:07
Speaker 2: Well, Michael and Susan Dell made an historic announcement. And
• 25:10
Speaker 2: the way I wrote the legislation creating the Trump accounts,
• 25:13
Speaker 2: it's designed to allow people, philanthropy to charity to give
• 25:18
Speaker 2: into the accounts. And what Michael and Susan Dell announced
• 25:21
Speaker 2: at the White House on Tuesday is they were personally
• 25:25
Speaker 2: giving out of their own resources, six and a quarter
• 25:29
Speaker 2: billion dollars. And what they're doing in particular is they're
• 25:33
Speaker 2: giving two hundred and fifty dollars for the two hundred
• 25:36
Speaker 2: and fiftieth anniversary of America to every child in America
• 25:40
Speaker 2: under age ten who lives in a zip code where
• 25:44
Speaker 2: the median income is one hundred and fifty thousand dollars
• 25:46
Speaker 2: or less. And so it is a massive gift. And
• 25:50
Speaker 2: I think Michael and Susan are just the first. I
• 25:52
Speaker 2: think you're going to see many other companies, many other
• 25:55
Speaker 2: individuals giving and giving early, allowing kids to begin to
• 26:00
Speaker 2: accumulating assets and get them to grow. That is powerful
• 26:04
Speaker 2: and it is an accelerant. Mark my words, Ben in it.
• 26:07
Speaker 2: Within a decade we will have over a trillion dollars
• 26:10
Speaker 2: invested in these Trump accounts and it's going to totally
• 26:13
Speaker 2: transform the future of our kids. It's a big, big deal.
• 26:16
Speaker 1: In communities around the world, millions of children like Lucy
• 26:21
Speaker 1: faced the crushing weight of poverty, hunger, illness, and a
• 26:25
Speaker 1: lack of opportunity dim their bright futures. But through Compassion
• 26:30
Speaker 1: International and local churches, everything is changing. Lucy receives nourishing food,
• 26:37
Speaker 1: vital medical care, and the chance to go to school.
• 26:40
Speaker 1: She learns life skills, develops God given talents, and builds
• 26:44
Speaker 1: a loving relationship with Jesus. It's a journey from vulnerability
• 26:48
Speaker 1: to empowerment, and it's sparked literally by your love. This
• 26:52
Speaker 1: transformation echoes far beyond Lucy, impacting her family, the community,
• 26:57
Speaker 1: and shaping the future of her nation. And you can
• 27:00
Speaker 1: make this profound difference right now. So join me in

• 27:09
Speaker 1: life and change the world. That's compassion dot com to
• 27:14
Speaker 1: learn more center. On Wednesday, you were at the White
• 27:17
Speaker 1: House for a really cool moment, and that was President
• 27:21
Speaker 1: Trump saying I want government to get out of your
• 27:23
Speaker 1: way and stop making things so expensive for you, specifically cars.
• 27:28
Speaker 1: Having a reset of cafe standards that were out of control.
• 27:31
Speaker 1: That is going to lower the costs of cars for
• 27:34
Speaker 1: many Americans. We're also getting rid of the obsession with
• 27:36
Speaker 1: a mandate for ev vehicles, which the Democrats were hell
• 27:40
Speaker 1: bent on, and this is going to again make cars
• 27:43
Speaker 1: more to affordable for Americans. Everyone should be excited about that.
• 27:47
Speaker 2: Well, that's exactly right. After spending Monday at the White
• 27:50
Speaker 2: House with the President while he was signing my legislation
• 27:53
Speaker 2: tripling the monthly stipend for Medal of Honor recipients. After
• 27:57
Speaker 2: spending Tuesday at the White House with the President and
• 27:59
Speaker 2: Michaelson and Susan Dell giving six and a quarter billion
• 28:02
Speaker 2: dollars to the Kids of America for Trump accounts, on Wednesday,
• 28:06
Speaker 2: I joined the President again, this time with the CEOs
• 28:09
Speaker 2: of the major auto companies in the United States. As
• 28:12
Speaker 2: the President was implementing legislation and provision again that I
• 28:17
Speaker 2: wrote zeroing out the Cafe standards. The Cafe standards were
• 28:22
Speaker 2: the federal mileage requirements that the Biden administration used to
• 28:27
Speaker 2: jack them up so high that at number one, made
• 28:29
Speaker 2: cars much much more expensive. But number two, it was
• 28:33
Speaker 2: part of their effort to eliminate the internal combustion engine
• 28:36
Speaker 2: to force everyone to buy an electric car, whether they
• 28:39
Speaker 2: wanted or not. And as part of the One Big,
• 28:43
Speaker 2: Beautiful Bill, we zeroed that out entirely. I wrote that provision,
• 28:46
Speaker 2: and on Wednesday, the President was implementing it. Here I
• 28:50
Speaker 2: want you to give a listen to the President describing
• 28:52
Speaker 2: the historic steps he took on Wednesday.
• 28:55
Speaker 3: From day one, I've been taking action to make buying
• 28:57
Speaker 3: a car more affordable. I signed an executive order to
• 29:00
Speaker 3: end the unfair expensive electric vehicle mandate. As you know,
• 29:05
Speaker 3: where you had to have an electric car within a
• 29:07
Speaker 3: very short period of time, even though there was no
• 29:10
Speaker 3: way of charging them, and lots of other things. It
• 29:12
Speaker 3: would have cost five trillion dollars to build the charging plants,
• 29:16
Speaker 3: and as you know, in certain parts of the Midwest
• 29:19
Speaker 3: they spent to build nine chargers. They spent eight billion dollars,
• 29:25
Speaker 3: So that wasn't working out too well. That was done
• 29:27
Speaker 3: before me. By the way, I wouldn't have let it
• 29:29
Speaker 3: go forward. We're canceling the EPA is observed tailpipe emission standards.
• 29:34
Speaker 3: One of the most important things that I've never had
• 29:37
Speaker 3: a group of people come to me more more powerfully
• 29:42
Speaker 3: and really just devastated that they had to do it.
• 29:45
Speaker 3: It was killing them. Then the automobile manufacturers the tailpipe
• 29:50
Speaker 3: emission standards, and I can tell you your people at
• 29:53
Speaker 3: Ford were coming to me all the time and they
• 29:55
Speaker 3: were saying, like, please, it doesn't do any thing, that
• 30:00
Speaker 3: it's killing us, and it's driving the course through the roof.
• 30:03
Speaker 3: And we revoked Biden's emissions waiver for California so that
• 30:07
Speaker 3: California communists could not regulate the automobile industry and ruin
• 30:12
Speaker 3: the entire nation of automobiles. And they were doing that too.
• 30:17
Speaker 3: But we have that now under control, also with your governor,
• 30:21
Speaker 3: who's got much more than he can control. Now under
• 30:25
Speaker 3: the new rules being issued today by Secretary Duffy, the
• 30:28
Speaker 3: Department of Transportation will rescind the Biden fuel economy prices.
• 30:34
Speaker 3: And I hate to say that, because they were really
• 30:36
Speaker 3: not economy. They were really they were anti economy. They
• 30:41
Speaker 3: were horrible what they were doing to the costs and
• 30:44
Speaker 3: actually making the car much worse. But these policies forced
• 30:49
Speaker 3: automakers to build cars using expensive technologies that drove up costs,
• 30:53
Speaker 3: drove up prices, and made the car much worse. The
• 30:57
Speaker 3: action is expected to save the typical consumer at least
• 31:00
Speaker 3: one thousand dollars off the price of a new car,
• 31:03
Speaker 3: and we think substantially more than that.
• 31:06
Speaker 1: Senator, you hear him talk about this. This is exactly
• 31:09
Speaker 1: what I think so many Americans voted for. It's government
• 31:12
Speaker 1: actually not mandating things. It's government getting out of the
• 31:16
Speaker 1: way of insane regulations to make your life easier. Just
• 31:21
Speaker 1: give me a little bit of my freedom back. Let
• 31:23
Speaker 1: the private sector do what the private sector does. Stop
• 31:26
Speaker 1: putting all this government agenda on top of me, and
• 31:29
Speaker 1: let me do what I want to do. If I
• 31:30
Speaker 1: want to buy an EVA, I'll buy an EV. But
• 31:33
Speaker 1: don't force me to do something. And don't make these
• 31:34
Speaker 1: standards so insane that you raise a cary the cost
• 31:37
  Speaker 1: of cars a point where I can't even afford a
• 31:40
  Speaker 1: new one.
• 31:41
Speaker 2: It's your choice. It should be your choice. If you
• 31:43
Speaker 2: decide you want to go buy a Tesla. Tesla's are
• 31:45
Speaker 2: amazing automobiles. You can go do that. But if you
• 31:47
Speaker 2: decide you want to drive your F one fifty, that
• 31:50
Speaker 2: ought to be your choice too. And this legislation and
• 31:54
Speaker 2: what the President did this week benefited consumers. Lowered prices
• 31:58
Speaker 2: made cars and trucks a lot cheaper. It also made
• 32:01
Speaker 2: them safer, It saved lives. It also helped produce jobs.
• 32:05
Speaker 2: Thousands and thousands of jobs. Is billions of dollars of
• 32:09
Speaker 2: being invested by car manufacturers in the United States. We're
• 32:12
Speaker 2: bringing blue collar jobs back to America. Ben, Here's how.
• 32:16
Speaker 2: Here's how I explained that in the Oval Office, standing
• 32:19
Speaker 2: next to the President. Give a listen.
• 32:21
Speaker 3: Anybody else want to say a few words? Oh dead,
• 32:23
Speaker 3: I've did generally I'm easy to miss.
• 32:31
Speaker 2: Go ahead, Well, this President, I want to congratulate you
• 32:34
Speaker 2: on behalf everyone here for the leadership that you're showing.
• 32:37
Speaker 2: And this is a victory today for consumers. This is
• 32:40
Speaker 2: a victory for affordability. Your critics like to say the
• 32:42
Speaker 2: word affordability. Under Joe Biden, the Democrats, they put mandate
• 32:46
Speaker 2: after mandate after mandate on cars and trucks, and they
• 32:49
Speaker 2: drove the price up thousands and thousands of dollars. And
• 32:53
Speaker 2: with the actions you're taking today, and you put on
• 32:55
Speaker 2: top of that the one big beautiful bill. You know,
• 32:57
Speaker 2: most of the senators here on the Senate Commerce can
• 33:00
Speaker 2: and on the Commerce Committee, we worked together to zero
• 33:03
Speaker 2: out the cafe standards. We wrote that into the law,
• 33:05
Speaker 2: that the cafe standards went to zero. What does that mean.
• 33:09
Speaker 2: It means you can now, as a consumer, buy the
• 33:11
Speaker 2: car you want. It also means people's lives will be
• 33:15
Speaker 2: safer because what these regulations did is they forced cars
• 33:19
Speaker 2: to be more expensive and made a plastic instead of
• 33:22
Speaker 2: steel because you had to make them lighter to comply
• 33:25
Speaker 2: with these standards. So you'd get in a wreck and
• 33:26
Speaker 2: people would die. The results of what you're doing, you're
• 33:29
Speaker 2: literally saving people's lives and you're making it where families
• 33:33
Speaker 2: can afford to get a new car. These actions will
• 33:36
Speaker 2: drop the cost of cars and trucks thousands of dollars.
• 33:39
Speaker 2: That's makes a real difference. And I'll make one final point.
• 33:42
Speaker 2: You know about half the members here are car dealers.
• 33:45
Speaker 2: And I will say, my good friend Roger Williams out
• 33:47
Speaker 2: in the lobby, he tried to sell me a car
• 33:50
Speaker 2: which didn't surprise me. But I just just want to
• 33:52
Speaker 2: give props to Mike Kelly. He showed he was savvier
• 33:55
Speaker 2: because he tried to sell you a car and you
• 33:57
Speaker 2: can work one nicer car than I can. Well done,
• 34:00
Speaker 2: Mike Roger, you just went to the wrong customer.
• 34:02
Speaker 3: I was one hundred dollars chief.
• 34:05
Speaker 6: The thing that Tenji said, it's to plastic instead of
• 34:09
Speaker 6: still think of that and people died because of that.
• 34:13
Speaker 6: The plastic was plastic in an auto accident that it
• 34:16
Speaker 6: broke up and people were shattered because of that crazy deal.
• 34:21
Speaker 6: But it's a really good point.
• 34:23
Speaker 2: Good and was President. I'll tell you the Senate Commerce
• 34:25
Speaker 2: Committee on January fourteenth, we're going to have a hearing
• 34:29
Speaker 2: with all the big three there in Tesla, and the
• 34:31
Speaker 2: entire hearing is going to focus on how your leadership
• 34:35
Speaker 2: has reduced the burdens on car makers. That's lowering costs,
• 34:38
Speaker 2: that's getting consumers more choices, and it's producing more jobs
• 34:42
Speaker 2: in America, and it's highlighted. That's a real record of success.
• 34:45
Speaker 1: Not only is it a record of success, but as
• 34:47
Speaker 1: you mentioned there and highlighted and the President agreed with you,
• 34:50
Speaker 1: it's an issue of safety.
• 34:51
Speaker 2: Senator yeah, yeah, no, I mean it's these cafe standards
• 34:56
Speaker 2: were making cars much much more dangerous. And we'll never
• 35:00
Speaker 2: know who, but there are people who will live now
• 35:04
Speaker 2: because of this change, because they'll be able to be
• 35:07
Speaker 2: in safer cars. Some of it is they may be
• 35:10
Speaker 2: able to afford a new car now because as this
• 35:12
Speaker 2: drives down the price of new cars and new trucks,
• 35:16
Speaker 2: they may sell their old used car and buy a
• 35:19
Speaker 2: new car because it makes it more affordable. New cars
• 35:21
Speaker 2: typically have more safety features and enhance their safety. But secondly,
• 35:26
Speaker 2: if you're not having to make these cars and remove
• 35:29
Speaker 2: all the steel, you're much more likely to survive an
• 35:31
Speaker 2: accident if you're in a car that has some weight,
• 35:33
Speaker 2: has some steel, and doesn't just crumple up like a
• 35:38
  Speaker 2: beer can.
• 35:39
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a big victory at the White House for
• 35:41
