- 1:31Speaker 2: we got home so early. How much longer did you stay?
- 1:37Speaker 2: Last night? Was the Orlando Weekly Awards like kind of
- 1:40Speaker 2: party pre party for the release of the Best of which, Yeah,
- 1:44Speaker 2: came out publicly today. I came out today a party VIP.
- 1:47Speaker 2: They were nice enough to give us a VIP status,
- 1:49Speaker 2: which was very nice.
- 1:50Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I took advantage of that by having one cup of
- 1:53Speaker 2: Hummus and one beer, which was very grateful for. Yes,
- 1:58Speaker 2: saw some cool people, people that we know very well.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Maxine and Kurt over at the Maxines on Shine. They
- 2:05Speaker 2: were right there, Johnny and Brian and Ray. Yeah, Ross
- 2:10Speaker 2: was there as well. You mean comedian of the year,
- 2:14Speaker 2: Comedian of the Year, Ross Badget. Yeah. We came in
- 2:18Speaker 2: third for best Radio Show, which was very nice. We
- 2:20Speaker 2: appreciate that. Deborah Roberts, congratulations. By the only thing I
- 2:25Speaker 2: really wanted to win was you for best Voice. You
- 2:27Speaker 2: came in third, a valiant effort.
- 2:31Speaker 6: And the thing I really wanted to win was best
- 2:34Speaker 6: Radio Station. They broke it up a couple of years
- 2:37Speaker 6: ago into the talk category. But again we are number
- 2:41Speaker 6: one real radio one O four point one, yeah, man,
- 2:44Speaker 6: number one there, Angel Rivera one third place for sportscast.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yeah, for sportscaster there. Let's see who else from the
- 2:51Speaker 2: Brandy Kravitz came in second second for Yeah that's right. Yeah,
- 2:55Speaker 2: we had a good join. And by the way, there
- 2:57Speaker 2: were other people like who are affiliated with the show
- 2:59Speaker 2: that stuff as well.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Yeah, EJ one for best sports caster on Tom and
- 3:03Speaker 6: A Corporate Time with Tom and Dan. A Corporate Time
- 3:05Speaker 6: with Tom and Dan won for best show.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:07Speaker 6: Yeah, and a bunch of real radio stuff did very well,
- 3:11Speaker 6: without a doubt, and thank you to all the people
- 3:14Speaker 6: who voted because they voted up each day you could vote,
- 3:17Speaker 6: and the listeners have you know, they take up that charge.
- 3:20Speaker 6: They go door to the Orlando Weekly, they cast their vote,
- 3:23Speaker 6: then we reap the rewards.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yeah, they were very, very nice, but we appreciate that. Boy,
- 3:28Speaker 2: I gotta tell you one thing I did not expect.
- 3:29Speaker 2: What's that? So you know, and I know the Weekly
- 3:32Speaker 2: is a for people who do not live in Orlando.
- 3:34Speaker 2: The Weekly is a free publication. It's a weekly newspaper
- 3:37Speaker 2: that comes out primarily dealing with news and cultural events
- 3:41Speaker 2: right in the city Orlando. Rarely goes outside the city limits.
- 3:45Speaker 2: It stays right there. Knows its role, knows its lane,
- 3:48Speaker 2: does a very good job there. It's been respected for many,
- 3:51Speaker 2: many years. And they started doing this best stuff thing
- 3:54Speaker 2: quite a while ago and it's become very popular. One
- 3:56Speaker 2: of their most Actually talking to Chloy Greenberg, who is
- 3:59Speaker 2: a writer from there on Thursdays, you guys know where
- 4:01Speaker 2: that she you know, she tells us that the workload
- 4:04Speaker 2: coming into this thing is overwhelming. Fia is also confirmed
- 4:08Speaker 2: because he's also a writer for Orlando Weekly that that
- 4:10Speaker 2: week or the you know, the compiling of this and
- 4:13Speaker 2: the motivation and machine that is the best of awards
- 4:17Speaker 2: every year. Is an overwhelming amount of work for the
- 4:20Speaker 2: people who were to Orlando Weekly that worked.
- 4:22Speaker 6: So hard that Chloe and Faia's were not at the party,
- 4:25Speaker 6: and I was a little surprised. I knew I expected
- 4:29Speaker 6: to see him, though FIA's was a goin flip.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I talked to him a little bit beforehand, and uh,
- 4:34Speaker 2: but what I'm trying to the whole thing was like
- 4:35Speaker 2: it was at the Plaza Theater, which is downtown Orlando,
- 4:39Speaker 2: of legendary venue here in the city of Orlando, one
- 4:41Speaker 2: of the very first, like you know, big theaters that
- 4:43Speaker 2: we had here as a city. So it's got to
- 4:45Speaker 2: got to be fifty sixty years old. Oh yeah, recently renovated. Yeah, absolutely,
- 4:50Speaker 2: And I did not expect. Look, and I'm not this
- 4:54Speaker 2: is not a shot at the Weekly. It's just I've
- 4:56Speaker 2: never been to one of these parties before, so I
- 4:58Speaker 2: didn't know what to expect. And what happened was everybody
- 5:02Speaker 2: showed up. And I say everybody Orlando showed up. Could
- 5:05Speaker 2: you believe how prouded it was.
- 5:06Speaker 7: No.
- 5:06Speaker 6: I was surprised because I didn't think it would be
- 5:09Speaker 6: that well attended.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Just Tuesday night.
- 5:12Speaker 6: It's a Tuesday night. It's the first time they're doing
- 5:14Speaker 6: it in seven years. Twenty nineteen was the last time.
- 5:17Speaker 6: And I went to that one as well, right, So
- 5:20Speaker 6: I was like expecting, Oh, it's the plaza. They have
- 5:23Speaker 6: a nice, big parking lot, parking won't be an.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Issue, and plaza next to it that has a massive
- 5:28Speaker 2: amount of parking, and we wound up parking borderline illegally.
- 5:32Speaker 2: It was not only that I saw.
- 5:35Speaker 6: I pulled in and I see Jimmy walking in the
- 5:38Speaker 6: parking lot like going back and forth, like he was
- 5:41Speaker 6: trying to get hit by cars, and then he saw
- 5:44Speaker 6: me and he's like, follow me, and I'm like all right,
- 5:48Speaker 6: So I followed him, and he went to where he
- 5:50Speaker 6: parked and he moved over so I could fit there
- 5:52Speaker 6: as well, because he kind of had a It was shady.
- 5:55Speaker 2: It was very shady. I gonna tell you, coin flip,
- 5:57Speaker 2: but I can't round the corner. It was still gonna
- 5:58Speaker 2: be there. I'm gonna be dead honest with you. There
- 6:02Speaker 2: was no way, dude, the walk that we would have
- 6:04Speaker 2: had to roll to get to the park. I'm telling you,
- 6:06Speaker 2: I'd already hit the big parking lot before you got there.
- 6:09Speaker 2: I'd already done the rounds. I knew what was available
- 6:11Speaker 2: and what wasn't available, and I'm like, look, there's no
- 6:13Speaker 2: no parking signs. You gotta have a no parking sign.
- 6:16Speaker 2: There's no no parking signs anywhere. So I just pulled
- 6:18Speaker 2: into what was an old loading dot for a store
- 6:20Speaker 2: that's closed and uh. And I'd taken up the entire
- 6:23Speaker 2: thing when I saw a bratch and I was like, well,
- 6:25Speaker 2: I can scoot over, you can make it. It was great.
- 6:26Speaker 2: If I'm getting my car, well he's if they toe
- 6:30Speaker 2: one or the other, we'll have a ride to the
- 6:33Speaker 2: to get it. But the people who ran that were great.
- 6:36Speaker 2: It went in very well. They were awesome. And that
- 6:39Speaker 2: quite a cavalcade of characters last night, never walking around
- 6:42Speaker 2: the plaza had everything from bright neon red dreads and
- 6:47Speaker 2: a giant bonnet with a tartans and thigh high metal
- 6:52Speaker 2: death boots to me old man Billy the mime yea.
- 6:59Speaker 2: But it was very nice and a lot of fun.
- 7:01Speaker 2: And thanks for the Weekly. We appreciate all of what
- 7:04Speaker 2: you do for us and our partnership.
- 7:06Speaker 6: And again shout out to Maxines on Shine the Restaurant
- 7:10Speaker 6: because they provided food for the VIP area, which that
- 7:13Speaker 6: was my dinners. Yeah, I went back for a couple
- 7:16Speaker 6: of serving.
- 7:16Speaker 2: They did a good job. And by the way, they
- 7:17Speaker 2: also won a couple things too. I think best brunch
- 7:19Speaker 2: they won, and some other things as well. So a
- 7:22Speaker 2: great job everybody and all to all the winners. Congratulations
- 7:25Speaker 2: to all the finalists. Congratulations and hopefully we'll be there
- 7:28Speaker 2: again next year. Yeah, and thanks for all the listeners
- 7:30Speaker 2: who voted. Yeah, no joke, man, we have two other
- 7:32Speaker 2: staff writers on our show. I feel we should have
- 7:34Speaker 2: done a little better. Yes, four seven one text us
- 7:38Speaker 2: at seven seven zero three one. I wanted to ask
- 7:40Speaker 2: you guys a question a couple of things. And I
- 7:42Speaker 2: don't know why these things hit me this way, because
- 7:44Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure out if I'm the weirdo here.
- 7:46Speaker 2: When you cross your arms, how do you do it?
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'm doing it right now. I mean when you like
- 7:51Speaker 2: if you so you're right, your left arm is over
- 7:54Speaker 2: the top. Yeah, the watch the watches on, so the
- 7:57Speaker 2: watches on you are as well. Yeah, but you're left
- 7:59Speaker 2: handed and you're right hand. Had this thing with the
- 8:01Speaker 2: belt yesterday. I'm trying to kind of get the bottom
- 8:04Speaker 2: of this. So today I crossed my arms and I
- 8:06Speaker 2: realized I crossed with my right hand on top. Every
- 8:09Speaker 2: single time you wear so you're covering your watch. Can
- 8:13Speaker 2: it take something? It feels totally queer to have my
- 8:17Speaker 2: left arm on top, like if you're as in weird. Yeah,
- 8:22Speaker 2: you guys don't do that. Quality just wild to have
- 8:26Speaker 2: it on the top like that. It's so normal for
- 8:28Speaker 2: me to have my right hand over. And I just
- 8:31Speaker 2: wondered how you guys so your right hand over, your
- 8:33Speaker 2: left hand over, and your left hand over.
- 8:36Speaker 6: Yeah, I want my I wear my watch on my
- 8:39Speaker 6: left wrist.
- 8:41Speaker 2: It's on top. That feels so weird and what it
- 8:44Speaker 2: makes sense? But I didn't know. I don't know anyone.
- 8:47Speaker 6: But here's this is the first time in my entire
- 8:50Speaker 6: life I've thought about it. I've never ever consciously said, oh,
- 8:55Speaker 6: I'm gonna.
- 8:58Speaker 2: And the other thing. Okay, So you guys read you
- 9:00Speaker 2: know right? He has reason websites and news and stuff
- 9:02Speaker 2: every day, right? Yeah, words right? Read words? Right? When
- 9:06Speaker 2: you go to see a story and you click on
- 9:07Speaker 2: a story a link and it and it goes to
- 9:10Speaker 2: a video, do you do you check out of that
- 9:13Speaker 2: and go find the the written version of that. Yes,
- 9:18Speaker 2: So you don't watch that. If you click on the story,
- 9:19Speaker 2: it's like bah blah blah blah blah, and you are,
- 9:21Speaker 2: oh man, that's a hot story. You click on it,
- 9:23Speaker 2: and it's not like a written story. It's a video
- 9:25Speaker 2: like a news clip or something like that that it
- 9:27Speaker 2: explains a story. Every single time that happens, I click
- 9:30Speaker 2: out and I go and look for the written version.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I don't want to see a video of it. What
- 9:34Speaker 2: why is that? Do you read? Do you watch the
- 9:36Speaker 2: videos of it?
- 9:37Speaker 8: Well?
- 9:38Speaker 6: I think the when you get the written version of
- 9:40Speaker 6: a story, you're getting more details as opposed to just
- 9:44Speaker 6: a transcript or a video of a two minute news
- 9:47Speaker 6: story right on television. I just for me like print.
- 9:53Speaker 6: The reason that print has an advantage is you can
- 9:56Speaker 6: go into detail. You're not constricted to a ninety second
- 9:59Speaker 6: or two minute time limit to tell your story. So
- 10:02Speaker 6: I think if there's pertinent details, they're going to be
- 10:05Speaker 6: in the written version.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Because the weird thing is it would be faster to
- 10:08Speaker 2: watch the video version of it, Like you know, to
- 10:10Speaker 2: watch a ninety second video trying to explain the scenario
- 10:13Speaker 2: or a full page story. The full page story is
- 10:15Speaker 2: going to take four or five minutes to read as
- 10:17Speaker 2: opposed to watching the video. But every single time I
- 10:21Speaker 2: check out of that and go read the story.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Yeah, same here, kind of like what Jack said. Even
- 10:25Speaker 3: though a lot of cases I'll find that the video,
- 10:29Speaker 3: especially on local news, maybe the exact verbiage as the article.
- 10:32Speaker 3: I prefer to read it just in case, just in
- 10:35Speaker 3: case I'll miss something important.
- 10:37Speaker 6: And for me, I memory issues left and right. It's
- 10:41Speaker 6: better retention for me if I read it as opposed
- 10:43Speaker 6: to just watch it.
- 10:44Speaker 2: That's more of a passive experience. Or we're reading is
- 10:46Speaker 2: more active, And I think you could go back and
- 10:48Speaker 2: kind of double check and maybe look for if you
- 10:50Speaker 2: answer questions, you know, if you ask questions to yourself
- 10:53Speaker 2: while you're reading the story, you can actually kind of
- 10:55Speaker 2: go back and scan try to find those things out.
- 10:58Speaker 2: And then the other thing too, is this right? We
- 10:59Speaker 2: know about my sugar thing? Yeah, your sugar problem, my
- 11:02Speaker 2: sugar problem, my PEPSI addictionary. I hid the cookie, I know,
- 11:05Speaker 2: but you have a cookie?
- 11:06Speaker 9: I do?
- 11:07Speaker 2: Would you like it? Yeah? She won't ask me anymore.
- 11:10Speaker 2: And I appreciate that very much. You did the other day,
- 11:12Speaker 2: and I almost I literally almost threw my shoe at you.
- 11:15Speaker 6: Let me think I forgot. Let me think for hot dog,
- 11:18Speaker 6: I had a Costco hot dog lunch.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Why is it he can eat anything he wants and
- 11:22Speaker 2: his blood work is fine and he never gains apply
- 11:24Speaker 2: the gains of some pet I'll tell you moderation. Yeah,
- 11:28Speaker 2: is that what it is? I don't have that gear. Yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 2: And also, and I just watched the thing yesterday.
- 11:34Speaker 6: I'm the worst things you can eat and processed meats
- 11:37Speaker 6: and hot dogs, cold cuts, that's at the top of
- 11:40Speaker 6: the listing today. Say, if you drink a soda a day,
- 11:44Speaker 6: it triples your chances of getting stomach cancer. Just one
- 11:49Speaker 6: soda a day triples your opportunity or your chances of
- 11:52Speaker 6: getting stomach cancer too. Yeah, I think I don't know
- 11:56Speaker 6: about that one.
- 11:57Speaker 2: But anyway, the reason I brought that up is this,
- 11:58Speaker 2: my cravings have shipped and it shifted to something that
- 12:02Speaker 2: I don't know is better. I know it is. It's
- 12:05Speaker 2: got to be no question because it's not soda. But
- 12:08Speaker 2: I am craving something so bad right now. I actually
- 12:10Speaker 2: just asked Deborah if there was some in the vending machine,
- 12:13Speaker 2: and I mean craving it to the point where I
- 12:15Speaker 2: can taste it in my mouth right now. And I
- 12:17Speaker 2: don't know if I'm going through detox or something and
- 12:19Speaker 2: these things come on. But dude, right now, I would
- 12:22Speaker 2: pay thirty dollars for a half a gallon of ice
- 12:24Speaker 2: cold whole milk. I would pay thirty bucks right now
- 12:27Speaker 2: for a half a gallon of ice cold. Get jack,
- 12:30Speaker 2: Get back at the work, Get back to work. I
- 12:34Speaker 2: am craving whole milk so bad right now. You have
- 12:37Speaker 2: no idea how bad I'm craving it. Right now. I'm
- 12:41Speaker 2: going I'm literally old milk, whole milk, like I'm going
- 12:44Speaker 2: crazy right now, ice cold, whole milk right out of
- 12:47Speaker 2: the jug. I would drink half a gallon right now. Okay,
- 12:51Speaker 2: what if, oh my god, I can I gotta stop
- 12:52Speaker 2: talking about it. What if I could get like a
- 12:54Speaker 2: regular serving size? What is that? Like a sixty ounce
- 12:57Speaker 2: bottle or a twelve ounce bottle? I don't even think
- 12:59Speaker 2: they have it downstairs? Have you checked? Have you ever
- 13:01Speaker 2: been in there? I know he hasn't. I don't have
- 13:04Speaker 2: the pass. Well, he is a downstairs ending it I
- 13:08Speaker 2: can't get.
- 13:10Speaker 3: You could use my key, but it turns out you
- 13:12Speaker 3: also have to have an account. That's setup. You can't
- 13:14Speaker 3: just pay with your phone or with or debit card.
- 13:17Speaker 3: You have to have accounts.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Oh how twenty twenty three of them? Oh my god,
- 13:20Speaker 2: I'm craving it so bad. I don't know what's going on,
- 13:23Speaker 2: but I am craving it so bad. There's just seven eleven.
- 13:25Speaker 2: We could probably go in the next No, I just
- 13:27Speaker 2: can't do that, but god, anyway, all right, four seven
- 13:30Speaker 2: nine one six one o four one. I gotta stop
- 13:32Speaker 2: thinking about it. How about coffee?
- 13:34Speaker 10: Creepy?
- 13:34Speaker 2: Nobody work? And half I would water down? Maybe, I
- 13:38Speaker 2: don't know.
- 13:39Speaker 3: I wonder how many listeners may show up with a
- 13:41Speaker 3: half gallon of milk.
- 13:42Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no no, I don't know. I'm
- 13:46Speaker 2: bean facetious. I would not, but but not almighty, man,
- 13:53Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on with my body. My
- 13:54Speaker 2: body is just losing its blank in mind, Like let's
- 13:57Speaker 2: stop that sugar thing. You stop that that soda thing, dude,
- 14:00Speaker 2: And your body doesn't know what to do. Your body
- 14:02Speaker 2: is like what do we do now? Water? Start with water?
- 14:05Speaker 2: Drinking enough water as it is? Do you know? Yeah, dude,
- 14:08Speaker 2: I drink like four or five of these things a
- 14:09Speaker 2: day in water. Really, Yes, that's a lot, dude. I
- 14:12Speaker 2: drink two during the show. I'm actually about to go
- 14:14Speaker 2: fill this one up for the second time. We have
- 14:16Speaker 2: been on the air fifteen minutes. How are you not
- 14:18Speaker 2: getting enough to pee every commercial break? You need to twice?
- 14:23Speaker 2: All right? It before the program? Like liquid, you need
- 14:25Speaker 2: to put some electro likes your Oh dude, I need milk. God,
- 14:29Speaker 2: no one drinks milk anymore ever, everybody drinks milk. Get
- 14:32Speaker 2: out of here. Where are we not Americans?
- 14:34Speaker 10: You know?
- 14:34Speaker 6: I think this is you parked. You know where you
- 14:36Speaker 6: park You parked in a loving dot for TG night.
- 14:40Speaker 6: That's why you need milk?
- 14:41Speaker 2: All right, w had some news for us.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Yeah, we're gonna talk about Florida's Attorney general going after
- 14:45Speaker 3: illegal online casinos es, Central Florida congressman is caught snooping,
- 14:50Speaker 3: and the bodies of missing climber's resurface on a Swiss glacier.
- 14:55Speaker 2: We'll talk about that and more coming up next during
- 14:57Speaker 2: JCS news. Yeah, let's take a little break back in
- 14:59Speaker 2: a second debth news, we'll continue on with the Jim
- 15:01Speaker 2: Colbert Joe. Well, it's a thing from Mexical fl Good cane. Thanks, bye, hey, Jimmy.
- 15:09Speaker 11: I think what the problem is is you're drinking too
- 15:11Speaker 11: much water. You're not getting enough electrolytes and minerals are
- 15:15Speaker 11: really important in your body, and you're just basically diluting
- 15:20Speaker 11: everything and your cravings are hitting. So you probably want
- 15:23Speaker 11: to drink some like mineral water and some electrolytes, all right,
- 15:27Speaker 11: like sparkling water a right, and gatorade and stuff like that.
- 15:32Speaker 11: So or liquid IV Yeah, it'll help, trust me.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Thanks buddy, appreciate that. Had a power aid the other day.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Til you look at the sugar content.
- 15:43Speaker 2: It's just about twenty grams less than a soda four
- 15:47Speaker 2: oh seven nine six one four one text us at
- 15:49Speaker 2: seven seven zero three one. Welcome back. I am Jim.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Jack is over there sighing at me and discussed. Now,
- 15:54Speaker 2: it's not that, my daughter.
- 15:56Speaker 6: It's a problem because you think you're making a healthy
- 15:59Speaker 6: choice in your trade.
- 16:00Speaker 2: One problem for another. Yeah, the number one thing outside
- 16:02Speaker 2: of water in sports drenks is high fruit dose corn syrup.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Look at the ingredients. Yeah, that's what matters. Father.
- 16:09Speaker 6: Today my daughter gave me a bag of the Liquid
- 16:11Speaker 6: ivy little package, so I put one pack in my
- 16:13Speaker 6: water when I'm and I really like him.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Yeah, my wife takes them all the time. I should
- 16:17Speaker 2: probably try it, all right, Welcome back on Jim Jack
- 16:19Speaker 2: is right there, and deb has your news news.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Wow, this guy kind of put his name on everything.
- 16:29Speaker 1: It's in my contracted here's the news on the Jim Colebergido.
- 16:33Speaker 3: If you say sexy news, sexy this is and JCS
- 16:37Speaker 3: news is drought to you by that mortgage guy. Don no,
- 16:40Speaker 3: I'll do it all right Byron Donalds.
- 16:43Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no. All that goes for anybody.
- 16:48Speaker 3: For the record, Well, he still made history becoming the
- 16:51Speaker 3: first black person to win Florida's Republican primary for governor.
- 16:55Speaker 3: The congressman was endorsed by President Trump and is the
- 16:57Speaker 3: favorite to succeed current governor On to Santas. Donalds will
- 17:01Speaker 3: face former Congressman David Jolly In the midterms and the
- 17:04Speaker 3: Senate race, Republicans elected Senator Ashley Moody and Democrats elected
- 17:09Speaker 3: Jacksonville State Representative Angie Nixon alex Vinman. Which that's been
- 17:14Speaker 3: making national news.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Yeah, well it has. That was a giant shocker because
- 17:17Speaker 2: he out earned her by a ton. She had like
- 17:21Speaker 2: very little money and he had a ton of money
- 17:23Speaker 2: and just.
- 17:25Speaker 6: I mean I knew I didn't know much about Nixon,
- 17:27Speaker 6: but I knew some about Vinman and right, you know
- 17:30Speaker 6: who was military background, worked for the government, but just
- 17:34Speaker 6: seemed like, you know, a straight arrow. I thought this
- 17:37Speaker 6: guy was a real quality candidate. And wow, that was
- 17:41Speaker 6: a shocker.
- 17:41Speaker 3: I'm surprised as well, because there she's another one of
- 17:44Speaker 3: those candidates they describe as a democratic socialist, right, so
- 17:47Speaker 3: I wouldn't have thought in like, you know, heavy North Florida,
- 17:50Speaker 3: that that would have.
- 17:50Speaker 6: Yeah, there's another term. I think they call it unelectable, right, exactly.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I even said that to Jimmy, Right, go for the
- 17:57Speaker 3: candidate who can win in November. But Florida's three Republican
- 18:01Speaker 3: Cabinet members are moving onto the November election after easy
- 18:04Speaker 3: primary victories. Chief Financial Officer Blazing Golio won his GOP
- 18:08Speaker 3: primary by a wide margin and we'll face Democrat Annette
- 18:11Speaker 3: Todao and the general election. Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson also
- 18:16Speaker 3: secured the party's nomination, beating Matt the Welder or Matt Taylor,
- 18:20Speaker 3: and will take on Democratic nominee Joey Mendoza's.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Look I like Matt the Welder's content, I really do.
- 18:28Speaker 2: I think he really you know, he's doing the best agam.
- 18:30Speaker 2: But that guy, guy Will Simpson beat the complete out
- 18:34Speaker 2: without a doubt.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Ye.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I think he was one of the only candidates I
- 18:36Speaker 2: saw that got to a million votes. Oh wow.
- 18:38Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm curious as to what the difference was in
- 18:41Speaker 6: their ad spend.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Yeah wow, a billion dollars.
- 18:45Speaker 6: The only reason I knew about Matt de Welder is
- 18:47Speaker 6: because the two of you mentioned him one time. Yeah yeah,
- 18:50Speaker 6: well since since and I heard one commercial at an
- 18:53Speaker 6: hour for the past month.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Exactly, And there there and lies the problem, right, It
- 18:57Speaker 3: all comes down to money. Attorney General James was unopposed
- 19:01Speaker 3: in the Republican primary and advances to a November matchup
- 19:03Speaker 3: against former state Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez. Okay, just a
- 19:07Speaker 3: couple more election notes before we move on.
- 19:10Speaker 2: We're gonna need one more round of voting.
- 19:12Speaker 3: In the Orange County mayor's race, Clerk of Court Tiffany
- 19:14Speaker 3: Moore Russell and businessman Christmasina advanced yesterday to a runoff
- 19:19Speaker 3: in November.
- 19:19Speaker 7: More.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Russell got more votes, but she didn't get the majority
- 19:23Speaker 3: needed to avoid a runoff. Former Congressoman Stephanie Murphy finished third.
- 19:27Speaker 6: That was a surprise, Yeah, yeah, I was until I
- 19:31Speaker 6: did watch their debate between the four of them, and
- 19:34Speaker 6: I thought she was third best.
- 19:36Speaker 2: She had debates. They say she played it really safe
- 19:38Speaker 2: and didn't really take a stance on many topics, and
- 19:42Speaker 2: that's what kind of drove people crazy, that she wouldn't
- 19:44Speaker 2: just put her foot in the ground.
- 19:45Speaker 6: The irony the guy who is running against her, I
- 19:48Speaker 6: thought he did the fourth best in that debate.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Yeah, oh, christ let's see yeah Christmasina. I saw him
- 19:54Speaker 3: today as well on Fox thirty five, and I was
- 19:56Speaker 3: like County commissioner my Myra Uribe was fourth. Now the
- 20:02Speaker 3: winner is going to succeed outgoing Mayor Jerry Demings, who
- 20:05Speaker 3: is term limited. Meanwhile, Kasimi's mayor can remain in office
- 20:09Speaker 3: after she survived an impeachment vote. The City Commission voted
- 20:12Speaker 3: two to two yesterday to impeach Mayor Jackie Espinoza. The
- 20:15Speaker 3: lack of a majority, though, means the impeachment motion failed.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Espinoza was accused of profiting from a COVID relief fund
- 20:22Speaker 3: for small businesses. That state investigation is still ongoing. Espinoza
- 20:26Speaker 3: says she experienced a lot of hate and a lot
- 20:28Speaker 3: of love during this ordeal. But the only thing stronger
- 20:31Speaker 3: than hate is love.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Yeah, they said Vina's wrong. Vinman's only lived in Florida
- 20:40Speaker 2: for three years. Ah, okay, and yes, is allowed to run.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Then took a bunch of money from APAC apparently. Okay, yeah,
- 20:47Speaker 2: there it's a hot button right now. That is a
- 20:51Speaker 2: is no bigger.
- 20:52Speaker 6: Let your rainey vine. You can take all your money
- 20:53Speaker 6: from a bag. And I love all right, I lived
- 20:57Speaker 6: there ten years. I go back there.
- 20:59Speaker 2: I love them. But you people, I know, thank you.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's such a good segue.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Did you see the story now?
- 21:07Speaker 3: Okay, well, I Central Florida congressman is accused of snooping
- 21:09Speaker 3: through a stranger's mailbox.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Oh boy.
- 21:12Speaker 3: It allegedly happens Sunday afternoon while Randy Fine was canvassing
- 21:16Speaker 3: ahead of the Republican Primary. Surveillance footage from the homeowner's
- 21:20Speaker 3: ring doorbell shows him sifting through each individual envelope. Now,
- 21:25Speaker 3: he did not remove or he did not remove anything,
- 21:28Speaker 3: and he did not include his campaign literature because of
- 21:30Speaker 3: course that's against federal law for anyone other than the homeowner.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Or a postal.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Employee to take anything or put anything in your mailbox.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Fine's office did confirm to TMZ We're in a whole
- 21:42Speaker 3: new era that he was the man in the doorbell video.
- 21:45Speaker 3: The homeowner said they did not want to price charges.
- 21:47Speaker 3: It doesn't matter, like you guys said, because he went
- 21:49Speaker 3: on to win the primary with nearly fifty seven percent
- 21:53Speaker 3: of the vote.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Wall by the wake up and by the way, it
- 21:56Speaker 2: is him, there's no question it's him. But when he
- 21:59Speaker 2: was confronted at after coming off stage at an event,
- 22:02Speaker 2: a reporter asked him about it, and he said he
- 22:04Speaker 2: didn't remember doing that and it was just like a
- 22:06Speaker 2: day ago. Yeah, he didn't remember it. He goes, you know,
- 22:09Speaker 2: I don't know. Is that even me? There's so many
- 22:11Speaker 2: fake videos up there. Is that even me? It is
- 22:14Speaker 2: so unbelieved. By the way, that is a federal offense.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yes it is, because that's a mailbox. And I read
- 22:18Speaker 2: the law this morning about that. And you don't have
- 22:20Speaker 2: to open the mail for it to be a violation
- 22:22Speaker 2: for the record. That would be up to the person
- 22:23Speaker 2: who owns the home to file the case. Now, it
- 22:26Speaker 2: might not make it through. He may not get convicted,
- 22:28Speaker 2: but what he did is a crime. You cannot just
- 22:32Speaker 2: rifle through your neighbor's mailbox. I don't care if you
- 22:34Speaker 2: take anything or not. You're not allowed to go in there. Hey,
- 22:37Speaker 2: you're not allowed to open it. You sure it's even him?
- 22:40Speaker 12: All right?
- 22:41Speaker 2: Part of this right?
- 22:42Speaker 6: I thought, politically speaking, he was one of the worst
- 22:44Speaker 6: human beings in Congress. Oh yeah, before I just learned
- 22:49Speaker 6: about the mailbox thing. Now, oh wow, yeah, that just
- 22:52Speaker 6: broke yesterday. It was like, what all right?
- 22:54Speaker 3: Suspended Palm Beach County Clerk of the Circuit Court and
- 22:57Speaker 3: Comptroller Mike Caruso, who it turns out is a real
- 23:00Speaker 3: pos is going to remain behind bars following his arrest
- 23:04Speaker 3: on multiple felony charges in both no following the alleged
- 23:08Speaker 3: abuse of a child. As CBS twelve News that's down
- 23:11Speaker 3: in South Florida got reaction from some local residents to
- 23:14Speaker 3: the surprise arrest of Caruso yesterday.
- 23:17Speaker 2: It disgusts me because I paid taxes. You know, you
- 23:21Speaker 2: trust these people.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Palm Beach County judge today ordered the former sixty seven
- 23:25Speaker 3: year old state lawmaker to have no contact with the
- 23:27Speaker 3: alleged victim, the victim's family, or anyone under the age
- 23:30Speaker 3: of eighteen. You guys this he allegedly molested his grandson.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Oh on a cruise ship, who.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Lives in Orange County. There were a couple of incidents.
- 23:40Speaker 3: There was one in Palm Beach, there was another one
- 23:42Speaker 3: alleged here. There was one during a fishing trip. Then
- 23:44Speaker 3: there was a Thanksgiving.
- 23:46Speaker 2: The one that I remember is was they were on
- 23:47Speaker 2: a cruise ship and he wanted to take his grandson
- 23:49Speaker 2: to get ice cream. They never went and got ice cream.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Apparently he showered with him.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Where some of the alleged incidents. Yeah, the allegations date
- 23:57Speaker 3: back two years ago. And you told me another very
- 23:59Speaker 3: heartbreaking breaking wrinkle to this story there.
- 24:02Speaker 2: I read a piece this morning, and I want to
- 24:03Speaker 2: make sure that get me that I read a piece
- 24:05Speaker 2: this morning. As I remember it, that it was the
- 24:07Speaker 2: mother of the grandchild, which would be his daughter. I
- 24:10Speaker 2: think that also experienced some stuff back in the day
- 24:13Speaker 2: as well. But I need to reconfirm that because nobody
- 24:16Speaker 2: else deb Set hadn't read it. She read every story
- 24:18Speaker 2: about this, but I thought for sure I read a
- 24:20Speaker 2: piece this morning and said that the grandson you know
- 24:23Speaker 2: of his was of his daughter and his daughter also
- 24:26Speaker 2: back in the day accused him or there was allegations.
- 24:28Speaker 2: There's a possibility he touched her.
- 24:30Speaker 3: And what heartbreak to then find out that the person
- 24:33Speaker 3: who abused you is now abusing your child.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Right right, right, And I gotta tell you something else too.
- 24:37Speaker 2: His mug shot is one of the creepiest mugshots on
- 24:41Speaker 2: planet Earth. This guy looks like a James Bond bag.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Like a lizard. It looks like a lizard. God, oh mighty,
- 24:47Speaker 2: I've never seen anything like terrible.
- 24:49Speaker 6: Oh what's name now, Cruso, Go put his by the way,
- 24:54Speaker 6: Jim Corpert Live dot Com. Go put this guy's mugshot
- 24:57Speaker 6: on the fourth panel, Jack and let people come see that.
- 24:59Speaker 3: But we're watching a raccoon eat some apples. Okay, Well,
- 25:03Speaker 3: he's currently behind bars in Palm Beach County and awaiting
- 25:07Speaker 3: extradition to Orange County. He's also on a no bond
- 25:10Speaker 3: status right now, So all right, Travelers are seeing DJT
- 25:15Speaker 3: for the first time since Palm Beach International Airport was
- 25:17Speaker 3: renamed in honor of President Trump. The three letter identify
- 25:20Speaker 3: her code for the airport was changed for pilots and
- 25:23Speaker 3: air traffic controllers last month for the purposes of flight
- 25:26Speaker 3: charts and navigation databases, but flyers at President Donald J.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Trump International are first now seeing the change from PBI
- 25:34Speaker 3: reflected on commercial booking sites, airline tickets, and luggage tags.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Governor DeSantis signed legislation allowing for the name change in March,
- 25:41Speaker 3: and the Palm Beach County Commission in May voted to
- 25:44Speaker 3: approve a naming rights agreement tied to the new name.
- 25:51Speaker 3: All right, this next story, I want to get your
- 25:53Speaker 3: take on, Jimmy, because I know you are talking about
- 25:55Speaker 3: your favorite online poker.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Spots and having some difficulty.
- 25:58Speaker 3: I don't know if this has anything to do with it,
- 26:00Speaker 3: but Florida's Attorney General has filed two lawsuits in Hillsboro
- 26:03Speaker 3: County against the operators of illegal online casinos, including Steak
- 26:08Speaker 3: and vgw's Chumba Casino.
- 26:11Speaker 2: I've heard of Chumba. I haven't heard of the other.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Oh my god, you see ads for Chumba Casino all
- 26:15Speaker 3: the time, Lucky Land and Global Poker Okay. James Uthmeier
- 26:19Speaker 3: says these companies have been preying on Floridians with deceptive
- 26:23Speaker 3: marketing while dodging consumer protection requirements.
- 26:26Speaker 13: Sites like Steak and those run by VGW market themselves
- 26:30Speaker 13: as sweep steaks or social casinos, but they offer real
- 26:34Speaker 13: gambling slots, blackjack and poker. They've breaked in hundreds of
- 26:39Speaker 13: millions of dollars for people in our state.
- 26:42Speaker 3: The lawsuits seek permanent injunctions that we keep the companies
- 26:45Speaker 3: from operating in Florida, along with the recovery of funds
- 26:48Speaker 3: lost by consumers. And by the way, if you are
- 26:50Speaker 3: watching us on our YouTube channel, the creepy Mike Caruso
- 26:54Speaker 3: mugshot Jack has put that on screen.
- 26:57Speaker 2: I'm going to look away.
- 26:58Speaker 3: I can you just see that guy coming through the
- 27:00Speaker 3: door of the room, and you know you can't run.
- 27:02Speaker 2: If if I saw that guy in a bar, I
- 27:04Speaker 2: would walk up to him and ask him if there
- 27:06Speaker 2: was a deal to keep me alive forever. That guy
- 27:10Speaker 2: looks like a god blinking demon. Yeah he does, Dude,
- 27:13Speaker 2: that is a demon. Dude, look at that guy's eyes, lips.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Get out of here with that. Can't trust By the way,
- 27:19Speaker 2: that the irony is Jack of this guy. I believe
- 27:23Speaker 2: he was one of the first people to sign on
- 27:24Speaker 2: to that death penalty for pedophiles. Whoa I think he was.
- 27:27Speaker 3: It always comes back to roost, right, always comes back
- 27:30Speaker 3: to roost.
- 27:31Speaker 6: Hey, real quick, I want to recap something, and I'm
- 27:35Speaker 6: thankful I get to apologize for Vard. You guys are
- 27:38Speaker 6: in the clear. Apparently Randy Fines District is now. It's
- 27:41Speaker 6: north of that Daytona Beach and Palm Coost. You got
- 27:45Speaker 6: some splay into Do.
- 27:46Speaker 3: I think it even includes No, that would have been
- 27:48Speaker 3: Mills all the.
- 27:50Speaker 6: Way into uh around okallis Silver Springs and down to Eustace.
- 27:54Speaker 2: There you go, all right, we got him mighty. Back
- 27:59Speaker 2: to school known if you've voted you yeah, I did not.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Florida's back to school sales tax holiday is wrapping up.
- 28:05Speaker 3: The month long savings event ends tomorrow, August twentieth. Shoppers
- 28:09Speaker 3: have a few more days to save on sales tax
- 28:11Speaker 3: for qualifying clothes, school supplies, personal computers. Tax holiday was
- 28:15Speaker 3: designed to help families prepare for the new school year
- 28:18Speaker 3: while keeping more money in their pockets. Anything to avoid
- 28:22Speaker 3: the heat because extreme heat headlines today's local forecast as
- 28:25Speaker 3: dangerous weather continues to blanket Florida, day number nine of
- 28:29Speaker 3: heat advisories. The combination of low nineties and high moisture
- 28:33Speaker 3: levers levels is a major hazard central Florida today faces
- 28:37Speaker 3: feel like temperature skyrocketing past one hundred thirteen degrees, Lieutenant
- 28:42Speaker 3: Pizza Sanchez of Miami Fire Rescue says can be fatal.

- 29:10Speaker 3: one hundred degrees since weather records began in eighteen ninety five,
- 29:14Speaker 3: matching a mark first set in nineteen forty two. Now,
- 29:18Speaker 3: scattered evening thunderstorms may provide a brief cooling, but hey,
- 29:21Speaker 3: the intense humidity remains locked in all right. Winter Haven
- 29:26Speaker 3: native Trey Mancini is announcing his retirement from.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Major League Baseball. No I really yeah.
- 29:31Speaker 3: The former Baltimore Orioles stand out became one of the
- 29:34Speaker 3: sports most inspiring figures after overcoming stage three colon cancer
- 29:39Speaker 3: and returning to the field in twenty twenty one to
- 29:41Speaker 3: win American League Comeback Player of the Year honors. Mancini
- 29:45Speaker 3: later won a World Series with the Houston Astros. Asterisk
- 29:49Speaker 3: and completely.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Sorry, I started, God, don't do that.
- 29:55Speaker 3: You so much. It's so true. That's an asterisk and.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Tu two b bs.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Absolutely, Pete Rose has no asterisk behind his name. He
- 30:06Speaker 3: didn't do anything to Sully the game. If you're on
- 30:09Speaker 3: that Astros, sorry, I mean it's true. It's I mean bank,
- 30:13Speaker 3: go bank some more garbage cans, and completed one final
- 30:16Speaker 3: return to the majors with the Los Angeles Angels earlier
- 30:19Speaker 3: this season. In a social media post, believe it or not,
- 30:22Speaker 3: the thirty four year old that's young the garbage can
- 30:25Speaker 3: once Bank fans teammates, Hey, so college.
- 30:28Speaker 2: I was desperate. She probably had a nice personality, very sweet.
- 30:31Speaker 2: You can spell nice.
- 30:32Speaker 3: And the doctors who helped save his life, ending a
- 30:34Speaker 3: career that included one hundred and twenty nine home runs
- 30:37Speaker 3: and more than eight hundred Big League games. And then, finally,
- 30:42Speaker 3: please say, the bodies of two Belgian climbers who vanished
- 30:45Speaker 3: in the Swiss Alps have been discovered and freed from
- 30:48Speaker 3: the melting trift glacier. You want to take a guess
- 30:51Speaker 3: how many years ago it.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Was no, go to Kray fifteen, I'll take the over,
- 30:59Speaker 2: I'll go sevent How about thirty four years ago? Damn really.
- 31:04Speaker 3: On July twenty sixth a hiker found two bodies on
- 31:07Speaker 3: the glacier in southern Switzerland. The bodies were transported to
- 31:10Speaker 3: the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Wallace Hospital and Scion
- 31:15Speaker 3: for identification, with a direct comparison of DNA profiles confirming
- 31:19Speaker 3: they are the two mountaineers who went missing in nineteen
- 31:22Speaker 3: ninety two. The two men were thirty nine and forty
- 31:25Speaker 3: one years old when they disappeared. Climate change has intensified
- 31:29Speaker 3: glacier melt, leading to a surge in the number of
- 31:33Speaker 3: bodies being uncovered by retreating ice.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Wow, wow, how crazy you thought. Crazy? He's fallen those
- 31:39Speaker 2: crevasses right and you're done, and you're done. There's no
- 31:42Speaker 2: getting out. They could be one hundred they could be
- 31:43Speaker 2: fifty sixty feet deep.
- 31:45Speaker 3: And that's what you know when you hear anyone who's
- 31:47Speaker 3: climbed any of those really tall mountains and they go
- 31:49Speaker 3: by the body of another, you know, climber who's passed, and.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Oh, you can see that on Mount ever, so it's
- 31:54Speaker 2: why I can't say littered with them anymore, because there
- 31:56Speaker 2: was an effort to kind of get them off there.
- 31:58Speaker 2: But they have names, like ones called green Boots, the
- 32:00Speaker 2: other one's called whatever. I mean, they have names, and
- 32:02Speaker 2: they just climb right past. They climb right past, frozen
- 32:05Speaker 2: in time exactly. It is creepy, as I wake up calling.
- 32:10Speaker 2: There is no other thing that does that. There is
- 32:14Speaker 2: no other sport that requires you to move past people
- 32:17Speaker 2: who have died doing it. That's true, there's no other
- 32:20Speaker 2: Could you imagine. I can't think of anything. I'd love
- 32:23Speaker 2: to play second base, but there's a corpse. But there's
- 32:28Speaker 2: a corpse just outside the clay, and it makes fielding
- 32:32Speaker 2: a bitch. Probably played for the ash. Could you imagine,
- 32:35Speaker 2: like I'd love to swim and there's a bobbing dead
- 32:37Speaker 2: people out there, like it's an m Night movie.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Either way, that concludes your JCS news.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Don't step up green Boot alright? Four seven one text
- 32:50Speaker 2: does that? Seven seven zero three one back in a
- 32:52Speaker 2: second with more of the Jim Corburt show. One.
- 32:58Speaker 15: I lived down here it was Palm Beach and went
- 33:00Speaker 15: to jury duty about two or three months ago, and
- 33:03Speaker 15: they put you in the waiting room to be called up,
- 33:06Speaker 15: and everybody a lady spoke and they did the video
- 33:09Speaker 15: and then that guy Caruso comes in and man, the
- 33:13Speaker 15: aura of this used car salesman's slick politician.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Just oozed off of this guy.
- 33:20Speaker 15: And someone in the room said, f and weasel.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Oh man, he got really ticked off.
- 33:24Speaker 15: But apparently that guy was on point.
- 33:27Speaker 2: It was way on point. We wouldn't got a compliment. God,
- 33:31Speaker 2: mindy man, I need to reread that story, because then
- 33:35Speaker 2: people were texting and saying, that's absolutely right, like if
- 33:37Speaker 2: that if that bomb was you know, you know, touched
- 33:41Speaker 2: by the dad and that was the case, you know,
- 33:43Speaker 2: why would you let your father take your son anywhere
- 33:46Speaker 2: for any reason? So I need to reread that, make
- 33:48Speaker 2: sure that's accurate. And I remember reading it this morning.
- 33:50Speaker 2: It seemed pretty darn accurate to me. But him, I
- 33:53Speaker 2: don't want to get that mixed up. And uh, he's
- 33:55Speaker 2: already in bad shape as it is. Got him minament.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Can you imagine going and put himself there your grand's
- 34:00Speaker 2: Does that make it worse? Yes? Yes, in the wild,
- 34:03Speaker 2: it doesn't make it worse. Right, if you go into
- 34:05Speaker 2: jail and you're a pedophile. Obviously there's a target already.
- 34:08Speaker 2: But I think if you're a pedophile and you've prayed
- 34:10Speaker 2: or predated on your own family, I think that makes
- 34:14Speaker 2: it even worse. It's like the guy Dugger. Yeah, it's
- 34:18Speaker 2: part of that big family that's on TV all the time,
- 34:20Speaker 2: like whatever it is. I mean, that's another guy. He
- 34:23Speaker 2: he predated on his entire family. He did it to
- 34:25Speaker 2: multiple sisters of his and now I mean in prison, Yeah, yeah,
- 34:30Speaker 2: done to.
- 34:31Speaker 6: I mean it's all a violation, but it's also a
- 34:33Speaker 6: violation of the home and the protection of family, right,
- 34:39Speaker 6: it's dual.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Violet, Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 34:42Speaker 3: It shatters trust, yes, I mean for that child to
- 34:47Speaker 3: I mean it could affect his relationships with other family members.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and again you know all of those stories
- 34:53Speaker 3: you hear about people's grandparents. For the rest of his life,
- 34:55Speaker 3: he's going to have to know that he has a
- 34:57Speaker 3: weasel for a grand file.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Wow. And that's putting it lately, all right, four seven
- 35:01Speaker 2: nine one text us at seven seven zero three one.
- 35:06Speaker 2: We have had a mouse coming up in a few
- 35:08Speaker 2: minutes of ped Alliance is in. We don't have to
- 35:09Speaker 2: say Pedaliance of Greater Orlando anymore. It's just pedaliance. That's
- 35:12Speaker 2: gonna be a pain in the ass. I know it's
- 35:14Speaker 2: gonna be. They yeah, thank goodness. And when that happens,
- 35:19Speaker 2: like Life Imaging just to drop the f l A
- 35:21Speaker 2: from their thing. And you guys remember the doctor Philotowski thing. Yeah,
- 35:24Speaker 2: it was doctor Philotowski for fifteen years, and all of
- 35:26Speaker 2: a sudden he sends an email and he goes, oh, by
- 35:28Speaker 2: the way, you've been saying my name wrong for a
- 35:29Speaker 2: decade or so.
- 35:30Speaker 6: Because Ryan Holmes had to ask about really, by the way, yeah,
- 35:35Speaker 6: how do you When he started endorsing, how do you
- 35:37Speaker 6: pronounce this? And that's when they got corrected and it's like, oh,
- 35:40Speaker 6: we've been doing it wrong for twenty years.
- 35:42Speaker 2: And everyone was fine with that. But no, there was
- 35:46Speaker 2: multiple endorsers in this building, like from different stations. Never
- 35:50Speaker 2: said a word. I remember reaching out and I mean, look,
- 35:52Speaker 2: here's for the record, he's a great guy. Uh, he
- 35:54Speaker 2: is a good dude. I got no problem with doctor Philoptowski.
- 35:57Speaker 2: But when I remember reaching out, when the rep came
- 35:59Speaker 2: to me and said, hey, look, you know this is
- 36:01Speaker 2: the deal. It's now Philatoska go, well, that's gonna be
- 36:03Speaker 2: a hell of a you know the record coming off
- 36:07Speaker 2: the you know, the scratching needle thing, because people have
- 36:09Speaker 2: heard it from the same It's like, I can he
- 36:11Speaker 2: come on with us, kind of explain we're gonna have
- 36:13Speaker 2: some fun with it. And there was one answer to that. Nope,
- 36:16Speaker 2: he is not interested in playing your game, sir. He's
- 36:20Speaker 2: too busy lazing people. You don't have time for your BSU.
- 36:24Speaker 2: By the way, his kids, I think pretty much, well,
- 36:26Speaker 2: they also are there now, and I think his family
- 36:28Speaker 2: is wonderful. His two boys are absolutely wonderful people, and
- 36:31Speaker 2: you would think they had all the trappings of being
- 36:33Speaker 2: complete asses, and they did not. I mean, because he's
- 36:36Speaker 2: done well for him. So yeah, yeah, but I mean, uh,
- 36:40Speaker 2: that was a kind of weird thing. And then the
- 36:41Speaker 2: life imaging drops the f l A and then it's
- 36:44Speaker 2: all over my spot. So you're your Ridian and you
- 36:46Speaker 2: you get into the cave that's ob readient like that.
- 36:48Speaker 2: It's just kind of wild. It sounds far and it
- 36:50Speaker 2: sounds weird. Strange. Yeah, it sounds queer. I meant that.
- 36:56Speaker 2: It's a good callback. God, I have this story. I
- 36:58Speaker 2: want to talk about it. We only have like two
- 37:00Speaker 2: minutes though, Oh no, talk fast, No un, how to
- 37:03Speaker 2: do that? Have you seen the public's change? No, Publix
- 37:07Speaker 2: is making a change. They lowering prices.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Did you guys see the taps from somebody yesterday went
- 37:15Speaker 3: to the grocery start aluminum foil? How much for a
- 37:18Speaker 3: roll of aluminum foil?
- 37:20Speaker 2: Don't even get me started on this. Sixteen dollars even,
- 37:24Speaker 2: don't get me started on aluminum foil right now, you.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Can get started on the Houston astros. Yeah, dollars didn't
- 37:31Speaker 3: go get that?
- 37:33Speaker 2: Do you guys remember a couple of years ago, like,
- 37:36Speaker 2: get ready for your olive oil to be like a
- 37:37Speaker 2: billion dollars? Right Like people like started texting. I was
- 37:40Speaker 2: in public yesterday. It was like seven dollars. Blah blah blah,
- 37:43Speaker 2: go buy olive oil now? Yeah, oh how bad. It
- 37:45Speaker 2: took it a little. It took it some time to
- 37:47Speaker 2: get there. But I mean, olive oil is painfully expensive,
- 37:50Speaker 2: like oil in general. Cooking oil in general is ridiculous.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Jack figured that out last Thanksgiving when he went to
- 37:55Speaker 2: buy oil, because Jack's a Turkey fryer. And uh and
- 37:58Speaker 2: here's the oil goes more than damn turkey, way more
- 38:02Speaker 2: than turkey. Turkey is like five bucks. Oil is fifty
- 38:06Speaker 2: five that's the new scam, right, Yeah, they give you
- 38:09Speaker 2: the turkeys, you buy the oil. So here's the deal.
- 38:11Speaker 6: I need to know, and you know, I can search it,
- 38:13Speaker 6: but i'd rather people tell me. It's okay, we're back
- 38:15Speaker 6: in this thing again. Peanut oil.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I use it.
- 38:18Speaker 6: I bought the more expensive peanut oil instead of just
- 38:21Speaker 6: the low air. Yeah you okay, filtered it. Put it
- 38:25Speaker 6: in my fridge. How'd you filter it through paper towels,
- 38:27Speaker 6: cheese cloth? Okay, very nice, So put it in my fridge. Okay,
- 38:31Speaker 6: And it's been sitting there since Thanksgiving, and I want
- 38:35Speaker 6: to use it again.
- 38:36Speaker 2: This thing. I think you're perfectly fine. I think because
- 38:38Speaker 2: it's in the fridge and we're good, right. I keep
- 38:41Speaker 2: mine in the direct sun uncapped.
- 38:43Speaker 6: That is very smart. If you want that rancid flavor, it.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Forms a nice crust on top and keeps it nice
- 38:50Speaker 2: and safe. I would think you're fine, buddy. What is
- 38:53Speaker 2: public's doing? They're there. I'll tell you a little bit
- 38:57Speaker 2: later in the show, because it's time to have animal house.
- 38:59Speaker 2: We'll do that next. How did you color? Where is it?
- 39:08Speaker 2: You know you have a fifty bag and real bad day.
- 39:12Speaker 7: We raise a beerd Did you have a DRM day? Drake?
- 39:16Speaker 7: Go out and get your face pump fall kinds of
- 39:19Speaker 7: full of fillers and run around like a mutant like working.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Cops or Shimon cow enjoy yourself. Have a good show, y'all.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Thank you might appreciate that I haven't heard that one before.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Jim Gobern Show. We're already one
- 39:33Speaker 2: o four point one. I am Jim. There's deb Hello
- 39:36Speaker 2: here as well. Yeah, let's new Animal House.
- 39:39Speaker 16: She likes them fuzzy, furry, feathery, tough and scaly.
- 39:44Speaker 2: It's time for Animal House with Roberts. Oh you know what.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Animal House is generously brought to us each and every
- 39:51Speaker 3: week by personal injury attorney Glenn Klausman over a Klasmon Law.
- 39:54Speaker 3: We'll tell you how you can get in touch with
- 39:56Speaker 3: Glenn at the end of the segment. But now please
- 39:59Speaker 3: join me in welcoming a regular guest, but this time
- 40:02Speaker 3: award winning Kenny Talier a little.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Bit from the Pedalion. Welcome back, Kenny. How's it going.
- 40:10Speaker 17: It's going great, and congratulate you guys too for your
- 40:12Speaker 17: Orlando Weekly Wins.
- 40:13Speaker 10: Best.
- 40:14Speaker 2: It's sitting in the house right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 40:16Speaker 2: how about that? Huh yeah, dog is at your feet. Yeah.
- 40:19Speaker 3: So you guys, I didn't realize this. I thought you
- 40:22Speaker 3: won one award. It turns out you won like what five?
- 40:24Speaker 17: Yeah, we placed in five different categories, so we placed
- 40:27Speaker 17: the Best Place to Adopt we won. We also won
- 40:30Speaker 17: Best Local Animal Rescue, which yay. Yeah, and then we
- 40:33Speaker 17: came in second place for best Local Charitable Group, third
- 40:37Speaker 17: place for best Local Overall Festival Pauls in the Park
- 40:40Speaker 17: happening in February February thirteenth, and then Best Charity Event
- 40:44Speaker 17: Pauls in the Park again, happening February third.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Well, congratulations shown, Yeah exactly. And you guys have been
- 40:51Speaker 3: you know, lots of hard work for over a lot
- 40:53Speaker 3: of years.
- 40:54Speaker 17: Yeah, it's just wonderful, Like this is voting that happens
- 40:57Speaker 17: by the community. So it really we're so grateful. This
- 41:00Speaker 17: is how the community feels about us.
- 41:01Speaker 2: And yeah, thank you. Yeah, that one.
- 41:03Speaker 3: That means a lot, It really does. You know, it's
- 41:05Speaker 3: one thing to have a panel of experts. It's another
- 41:07Speaker 3: thing to have the people who you know come to
- 41:10Speaker 3: the shelter use your services, either the veterinary services, the
- 41:13Speaker 3: food pantry donate stuff.
- 41:15Speaker 18: You know.
- 41:16Speaker 2: One of the major drivers I believe it is, Kenny,
- 41:17Speaker 2: is the fact that every time you guys come on
- 41:19Speaker 2: the air with us for the last eight years, you
- 41:21Speaker 2: can literally hear and feel the empathy for these animals
- 41:24Speaker 2: in every interview we do with you. Yeah, I mean,
- 41:27Speaker 2: every single person that has come through these doors from
- 41:30Speaker 2: the ped Alliance has been an absolute dream. And these
- 41:33Speaker 2: pets and these these animals are lucky to have fallen
- 41:36Speaker 2: under your tutelage because you guys do the very best
- 41:39Speaker 2: to try to get them in the best homes. And
- 41:41Speaker 2: you've been doing that for years, shamelessly and sometimes just
- 41:46Speaker 2: with very little help. So it is very impressive. You
- 41:49Speaker 2: deserve every one of those and more. Thank you very much.
- 41:54Speaker 2: We love them all. I know I'm going to walk
- 41:56Speaker 2: around with Jim all day long.
- 41:58Speaker 3: Well listen, I gotta tell you, Kenny's got to be
- 42:00Speaker 3: just as impressed with with Jim, because Jack, we can't
- 42:04Speaker 3: show you a little bit. She came in the studio,
- 42:06Speaker 3: crawled underneath the control board and is laying at Jimmy's feet.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, she is.
- 42:10Speaker 17: She picks her people and like she's a little shy
- 42:13Speaker 17: around in New environments, and so I guess she feels
- 42:16Speaker 17: so safe by you, so.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Pin down with my feet and you got bacon in
- 42:20Speaker 2: your pockets. No, she came in and gave her a
- 42:22Speaker 2: couple of ear rubs. Dogs love, No, but it's weird, Kenny. Guys.
- 42:27Speaker 3: We've noticed this with like almost all of the dogs
- 42:29Speaker 3: that you bring in. They they tend to just gravitate
- 42:32Speaker 3: right away to Jim. And I'm not insulted by that
- 42:34Speaker 3: at all. No, that doesn't hurt my feelings.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Yeah, when I come in with a kitten, entirely know
- 42:39Speaker 2: you're a cat la crazy.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Well you can tell the cat, you know, because when
- 42:43Speaker 3: you walk in, you're like, I'm sorry, Pop, I smell
- 42:45Speaker 3: a cat, but what kind of I'm gonna try and
- 42:49Speaker 3: get my camera down and scoot underneath there so folks
- 42:52Speaker 3: can see a photo of her, because she really has
- 42:54Speaker 3: a beautiful smile.
- 42:55Speaker 2: She's about a medium size, would you say.
- 42:57Speaker 17: So she's two years old, she's forty nine. I'm sorry,
- 42:59Speaker 17: she's fifty nine pounds, and she looks like she's got
- 43:02Speaker 17: a she's a boxer mix. And where I'm you know,
- 43:04Speaker 17: guessing just because of that amazing underbite that she, yes,
- 43:07Speaker 17: she does she has a grace underbi adds to her smile. So, Jimmy,
- 43:11Speaker 17: we love your shoes.
- 43:12Speaker 2: We see, Jimmy, Jimmy, your sneakers are very white. She's
- 43:14Speaker 2: right there, but it's just so dark you can't say anything.
- 43:16Speaker 17: When she wags her tail, her whole body wiggles like
- 43:20Speaker 17: she's just a really happy girl.
- 43:21Speaker 2: And she's happy at Jim's feet.
- 43:23Speaker 3: Right now, there we go, I got my iPhone. There
- 43:28Speaker 3: she is and I love her. What does her bandana
- 43:30Speaker 3: say again?
- 43:31Speaker 2: Obedient school dropout?
- 43:35Speaker 18: Yeah?
- 43:35Speaker 3: Yeah, So what will be the ideal home for a
- 43:38Speaker 3: little bit?
- 43:39Speaker 17: A little bit would do great with any kind of
- 43:41Speaker 17: any kind of family situation, as long as the children
- 43:44Speaker 17: are like at the teenage age. She's not really too
- 43:46Speaker 17: sure about the younger kids. But she's dog friendly. She
- 43:50Speaker 17: gets along great with all people and yeah, not probably
- 43:55Speaker 17: not good in home with cats. She would kind of
- 43:57Speaker 17: chase them like a lizard.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Right exactly.
- 43:59Speaker 3: Well, you know, cats can trigger prey drive, and some dogs,
- 44:02Speaker 3: some dogs, you know, they get along differently.
- 44:05Speaker 2: But yeah, but she's seen kittens.
- 44:07Speaker 17: You know, she's been hanging out my office with the
- 44:08Speaker 17: all day today and people have been walking by with
- 44:10Speaker 17: kittens and she just looks at them and kind of
- 44:12Speaker 17: thumps the tail.
- 44:12Speaker 2: So she looks pretty low impact. Yeah, she gonna you know,
- 44:15Speaker 2: I think she looks she looks like a chiller. She's
- 44:17Speaker 2: a good girl.
- 44:18Speaker 17: And she's like she's she's been loving the bed in
- 44:21Speaker 17: the office, and she just looks at me like it's
- 44:23Speaker 17: time for a treat.
- 44:23Speaker 2: She won't get up for it. She'll just give me
- 44:25Speaker 2: that look and get up. She won't get it.
- 44:30Speaker 17: She's trained, kidding, and she's like, come to me, do
- 44:35Speaker 17: I do it?
- 44:36Speaker 2: No wonder why she failed Obedy in skull exactly, her
- 44:40Speaker 2: to literally one woman to another woman. Good girl a
- 44:44Speaker 2: little bit, Yeah, girl, she figured me out. She's like,
- 44:46Speaker 2: I love that treat, but better I'd love you to
- 44:48Speaker 2: bring it. That's what I love. And could you put
- 44:51Speaker 2: two more ice cubes on her water? Exactly? And you
- 44:55Speaker 2: said she's only she's only two, she's only two.
- 44:58Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 44:58Speaker 3: And again, if if folks do have a dog dog
- 45:00Speaker 3: already at home that they want to see, if they
- 45:02Speaker 3: can mesh, can they set up like a playdate where
- 45:04Speaker 3: they can bring them in to meet a little bit
- 45:06Speaker 3: or how would you handle that?
- 45:07Speaker 2: Yeah, we encourage it. If you've got to tail it
- 45:09Speaker 2: at home. I did not know that.
- 45:10Speaker 17: Yeah, bring them on in for a meet and greet,
- 45:12Speaker 17: no appointment necessary. Just come into our front lobby. Just
- 45:14Speaker 17: let us know who you'd like to meet and we
- 45:16Speaker 17: will supervise it. Take each you are either our indoor
- 45:19Speaker 17: yard or outdooryard, depending on the weather, and see how
- 45:22Speaker 17: it goes.
- 45:23Speaker 2: You know what, And I'm gonna tell you there's no
- 45:25Speaker 2: time to be wasted there because just the other day
- 45:27Speaker 2: saw a guy or a girl walking her dog. A
- 45:30Speaker 2: guy was walking two dogs and they were about to
- 45:33Speaker 2: pass each other on the sidewalk. The two dogs are
- 45:35Speaker 2: losing their minds and they were like labs, like dogs
- 45:38Speaker 2: that don't really usually show a lot of aggression, usually
- 45:41Speaker 2: very affable dogs, and the owners let them kind of
- 45:45Speaker 2: smell each other to kind of get acclimated. They were
- 45:47Speaker 2: not down. The good thing about dogs that they like,
- 45:51Speaker 2: they let you know pretty quickly whether or not they're
- 45:53Speaker 2: cool with it or not right, and just shake their
- 45:55Speaker 2: signal and be like, okay to meet you. Keep on
- 45:56Speaker 2: working exactly, keep it going. They're not going to grow
- 45:59Speaker 2: into it.
- 46:00Speaker 3: No exactly, But that's the good thing, right, Waste no time?
- 46:04Speaker 3: Where can folks see adoptable animals that are available, both cats, kittens, dogs, puppies,
- 46:09Speaker 3: all kinds.
- 46:09Speaker 17: So we've got our two shelter locations. A little bit
- 46:12Speaker 17: lives in our New Orlando shelter, which is over forty
- 46:16Speaker 17: three eleven South john Yon Parkway, and then we've got
- 46:19Speaker 17: our Sanford shelter which also has available to adopt pets,
- 46:22Speaker 17: and that's over at twenty eight hundred County Home Road.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Now, can you see all of the animals available on
- 46:27Speaker 3: your website ped Alliance Orlando dot org.
- 46:30Speaker 17: Yes, yes, they're all on our website. So do you
- 46:32Speaker 17: go there, click on adoptable animals and you're going to
- 46:34Speaker 17: see so many adorable faces all looking for forever home.
- 46:38Speaker 3: And are you u seeing a large influx like a
- 46:40Speaker 3: lot of other shelters have been reading around the state
- 46:42Speaker 3: that have been seeing a large influx this summer.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Yeah, there has been a lot.
- 46:47Speaker 17: I mean, I know, like we have so many kittens
- 46:49Speaker 17: in foster right now, like it's kitten season. There's close
- 46:52Speaker 17: to one hundred kittens in foster.
- 46:54Speaker 10: Wow.
- 46:55Speaker 17: And you know we have more kittens available for adoption
- 46:58Speaker 17: right now than we do adult cats because it's that
- 47:00Speaker 17: time of the year.
- 47:01Speaker 2: They're getting yeah, but do you have Yorkies.
- 47:05Speaker 17: We don't have any Yorkies right now, but you know
- 47:07Speaker 17: it could change next week. You never know what you're
- 47:09Speaker 17: gonna find in a shelter.
- 47:10Speaker 2: In checking the website. Yeah, somebody, somebody, somebody text that question.
- 47:13Speaker 2: And actually that's a really good question. What dogs get
- 47:16Speaker 2: adopted more? Do people look for smaller animals or do
- 47:19Speaker 2: you find that people look for a specific breed or
- 47:21Speaker 2: is it just people, because I know there's a big
- 47:23Speaker 2: group of people who like adopting dogs that are a
- 47:25Speaker 2: little bit older to give them that forever home for
- 47:27Speaker 2: the last few years of their life. Which which do
- 47:29Speaker 2: you are? Is it like seasonal? Yeah?
- 47:32Speaker 17: Generally the smaller breeds get adopted out first first they
- 47:36Speaker 17: and if you're and then the next one that will
- 47:38Speaker 17: always seem to get adopted out first will be anything
- 47:41Speaker 17: that's fluffy. Really dogs will go home fast, and then
- 47:44Speaker 17: it'll just go off the line, you know, whether age
- 47:47Speaker 17: or breed or size or weight kind of thing.
- 47:49Speaker 3: But a lot of the apartmental yeah it part me.
- 47:52Speaker 3: A lot of apartment dwellers have to worry about size
- 47:54Speaker 3: and weight.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Right, let me ask another really dumb question. Okay, because
- 47:57Speaker 2: I love dumb questions. So let's say that I'm looking
- 48:01Speaker 2: for a specific breed or something like that. Do you
- 48:03Speaker 2: have like a waiting list that you can get on to,
- 48:05Speaker 2: like if you get something in that kind of fits
- 48:07Speaker 2: that that you have people already ready to go. I mean,
- 48:10Speaker 2: do you do you offer that or yeah.
- 48:12Speaker 17: Unfortunately we're not set up. We do have a waiting list,
- 48:16Speaker 17: but we do encourage people because our website is updated
- 48:18Speaker 17: in real time. Just keep on checking because you never
- 48:21Speaker 17: know what's going to be there. I mean hour by
- 48:24Speaker 17: hour or day by day.
- 48:25Speaker 3: You brought in a gorgeous purebred Golden Retriever Mail, which
- 48:30Speaker 3: is my dog of dogs, that's the only dog I
- 48:34Speaker 3: had in my life. Was And so for those who
- 48:37Speaker 3: are specific about breeds and maybe designer breeds, still check
- 48:40Speaker 3: with the pet alliants.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Always check with us first, check adopt a lot of lately. Yeah, God,
- 48:46Speaker 2: they're the funniest dogs on the internet.
- 48:48Speaker 3: They are, but they are also it's a certain breed.
- 48:51Speaker 17: To adopt that breed, I need to be a very
- 48:53Speaker 17: patient person with them because they're smarter than us.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Oh, they are sad, they are saxy like a young girls.
- 49:00Speaker 2: They do not want to clean their rooms. No, they
- 49:02Speaker 2: are not down for it, and they they will scream it.
- 49:05Speaker 3: They will scream just like a teenage girl laugh at
- 49:08Speaker 3: them like really, oh my god, I laughed so hard.
- 49:11Speaker 3: They cut they cut so many terrible eyes with Well, Kenny,
- 49:16Speaker 3: I know with all those animals, that means there's also
- 49:19Speaker 3: a lot of needs. So you were mentioning that there's
- 49:22Speaker 3: some things that if listeners could help you out with
- 49:24Speaker 3: the pedal lines, would really appreciate it.
- 49:26Speaker 17: Yeah, so there's some needs that you know, they're probably
- 49:28Speaker 17: in your closet or your garage right now. We could
- 49:31Speaker 17: we desperately need bath towels and then newspapers, and they
- 49:35Speaker 17: still make those.
- 49:37Speaker 2: That's why we need our next guest. Puppy pads would do.
- 49:43Speaker 17: Puppy pads also are three greatest needs right now. So
- 49:46Speaker 17: the puppy pads and the bath towels can be ordered
- 49:48Speaker 17: off of our wishless or if you've got some in
- 49:51Speaker 17: your closet that you just don't want anymore, if you
- 49:53Speaker 17: bring them on.
- 49:53Speaker 2: It, well, I mean, what happens is this because I
- 49:55Speaker 2: know that at one point we had a giant collection
- 49:57Speaker 2: of them, because we had puppy pads for Sadie when
- 49:59Speaker 2: she when she was with us, but then you know,
- 50:01Speaker 2: she grew out of it when she learned we still
- 50:03Speaker 2: had a big stack left over. So I'm sure there
- 50:05Speaker 2: are a lot of people out there that are in
- 50:06Speaker 2: that same scenario. You'll get a puppy young they're going
- 50:09Speaker 2: through the puppy pads. You don't go through all of them.
- 50:11Speaker 2: You have them stuck somewhere in a closet in the garage,
- 50:13Speaker 2: like you were saying, Yeah, you'll pull us out of there.
- 50:15Speaker 2: And and maybe old towels, but you don't want them
- 50:17Speaker 2: rags you want. You want towels that are viable, slightly.
- 50:20Speaker 6: Used, lightly used, yeah, yeah, holds, no tears, just with
- 50:24Speaker 6: like hair color on them. Maybe some leach spots right
- 50:28Speaker 6: right now, I don't know who would have those houses.
- 50:30Speaker 17: Yeah, as long as they don't have holes in them.
- 50:32Speaker 17: The dogs don't care where color they are.
- 50:33Speaker 3: One bit, because you're gonna get pink and purple from
- 50:36Speaker 3: his house.
- 50:36Speaker 2: I love that. Perfect.
- 50:39Speaker 3: And where can folks access the wish lists?
- 50:41Speaker 17: So our wish list is on our website as well,
- 50:43Speaker 17: so ped Alliance Orlando dot or just click there and
- 50:46Speaker 17: then you can go shopping and have it delivered to us.
- 50:49Speaker 2: Which Yeah.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Makes it convenient for for the listeners and as well
- 50:53Speaker 3: for you guys. Make sure you get the materials that
- 50:55Speaker 3: you need.
- 50:55Speaker 17: Yeah, and I think I appreciate you asking. I mean also,
- 50:57Speaker 17: or you can have them deliver to your home then
- 50:59Speaker 17: come to the shelter and visit all the end.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that. There you go. You're never getting
- 51:04Speaker 2: this dog out of here. But horrible news. She has
- 51:07Speaker 2: grown into the floor.
- 51:08Speaker 3: She has not moved from Jimmy's feet for the entire secont.
- 51:12Speaker 3: I think I think we found her forever home. Studio
- 51:18Speaker 3: dub Yes, studio dog well. As always, Kenny, thank you
- 51:21Speaker 3: so much for coming in and please keep us updated
- 51:23Speaker 3: on one little bit does find her forever home?

- 51:56Speaker 3: an animal lover and friend of the show. So if

- 52:06Speaker 3: U s m a n Law dot com.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Thanks four oh seven nine one six four one. That's
- 52:11Speaker 2: how you call us. Text us easily at seven seven
- 52:14Speaker 2: zero three one. Take little break, will come back and
- 52:15Speaker 2: talk to Scott Maxwell from The Orlando Sentinel.
- 52:20Speaker 4: They called him sweet heat from his head to his feet.
- 52:24Speaker 8: Sizzling hot like an asphalt street, dripping to the swag
- 52:28Speaker 8: of an Orlando set.
- 52:30Speaker 2: No beat beat beat ladies and gentlemen.
- 52:33Speaker 9: Columnist Scott Ticket to the Maxwell Maxwell, Let's.
- 52:41Speaker 2: Get away with all that other stuff, and you're right
- 52:42Speaker 2: to the action, Scott Maxwell, how you doing? Friend? Where
- 52:46Speaker 2: did that come? Do not know who that is? But
- 52:47Speaker 2: we just rode with it.
- 52:49Speaker 6: Mister k It's a top back that came from a
- 52:51Speaker 6: listener ten minutes ago.
- 52:53Speaker 19: I'm like, oh, this is perfect by that buddy, your
- 52:57Speaker 19: favorite listener. Ye, certainly that you know, the one that
- 53:01Speaker 19: calls me well. But for twenty one, yeah, must be
- 53:04Speaker 19: a very important day. Scott's shirt has a collar, which
- 53:07Speaker 19: is uh, which is just so far removed from what
- 53:11Speaker 19: we usually get. Usually we get the wallered out T
- 53:15Speaker 19: shirt that he usually sleeps in.
- 53:17Speaker 6: Yeah, he's laughing because he's so noted, you know.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Wallar Out T shirt.
- 53:24Speaker 5: No, you're right.
- 53:24Speaker 19: First, the first step on my wrung to decency is pants.
- 53:28Speaker 19: And you all don't see whether I have that movie days.
- 53:31Speaker 2: But you are right. I actually had to record a
- 53:32Speaker 2: promotional video. Uh. I did that just before I uh
- 53:36Speaker 2: called you very nice. Well you do look good today,
- 53:38Speaker 2: buddy House. Things are good, thank you.
- 53:40Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we got one election down, one election
- 53:43Speaker 2: to go. That's right. Life sweet. Well, let's talk about it.
- 53:45Speaker 2: I mean, there were some interesting things happening in Central Florida.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Let's start out with one of the first. I don't
- 53:51Speaker 2: even know what this is. Really an upset I think
- 53:53Speaker 2: maybe only an upset because the candidate was Trump endorsed,
- 53:57Speaker 2: and that would be Corey Mills. Up in Siminal County.
- 54:00Speaker 2: He was fighting for his life against Ryan Elijah, a
- 54:03Speaker 2: guy with zero issues on like, I don't know that
- 54:06Speaker 2: did he have anything other than he's too good of
- 54:09Speaker 2: a dude.
- 54:10Speaker 6: I think he's also too good looking too. I think
- 54:12Speaker 6: that could work against you. Yeah, yeah, but not this time.
- 54:16Speaker 6: I gotta tell you, I didn't find that much of
- 54:17Speaker 6: a surprise. Even with the endorsement. He was just a
- 54:20Speaker 6: horrible candidate. I mean, is that the general feeling right
- 54:23Speaker 6: now or yeah?
- 54:25Speaker 19: Well, I think if I had to give one SI,
- 54:28Speaker 19: it's takeaway, it was that Republican voters in central Florida
- 54:32Speaker 19: did what Republican leaders in Washington, d C. Would not, uh,
- 54:36Speaker 19: and they cleaned out the trash. Because you may remember,
- 54:40Speaker 19: uh not only was Donald Trump and had stuck behind
- 54:44Speaker 19: Corey Mills with his endorsement after just one scandal after another. Yeah,
- 54:48Speaker 19: we don't even have trying to get done to him.
- 54:49Speaker 19: The guy was under a member of Congress under a
- 54:52Speaker 19: restraining order at one point in time, all sorts of
- 54:55Speaker 19: questions about business.
- 54:56Speaker 2: For at that investigations.
- 54:58Speaker 19: Yeah, yeah, all this stuff, But Mike Johnson was standing
- 55:02Speaker 19: right behind him.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Donald Trump was endorsement Now Interestingly, I don't know if
- 55:05Speaker 2: you saw.
- 55:05Speaker 19: This, Jim Corey Mills was touting his Trump endorsement, his
- 55:10Speaker 19: full and total endorsement or whatever Trump ever says every day.
- 55:14Speaker 19: I mean, twenty four hours ago he was. And then today,
- 55:18Speaker 19: after Mills lost, Trump went on truth Social and claimed
- 55:22Speaker 19: he'd always told Trump uh Corey to get out of
- 55:25Speaker 19: the race, and then he never thought that this guy
- 55:28Speaker 19: he'd endorsed for about a year. He claims privately, he
- 55:31Speaker 19: told him to get out of the race. Right now
- 55:33Speaker 19: he's rooting for Ryant.
- 55:35Speaker 2: And then gave Ryan Elijah his full and uncontested endorsement
- 55:39Speaker 2: and then says all the stuff that he says during
- 55:41Speaker 2: those endorsements. If you ever read True Social, it's kind
- 55:43Speaker 2: of interesting. It's just like they replaced the name and
- 55:46Speaker 2: it says like there's like five standard endorsements and they
- 55:49Speaker 2: just got to replace the name and then roll them around.
- 55:52Speaker 19: Well, and this was just so weird because he's saying,
- 55:55Speaker 19: I'm giving my complete and total endorsement to a guy
- 55:58Speaker 19: who I was hoping would lose twenty.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Four hours ago.
- 56:01Speaker 19: I mean, and what was Corey Mills got something like
- 56:04Speaker 19: thirty seven percent? I mean, that's pathetic. Keep in mind,
- 56:08Speaker 19: there are no Democrats in this primary. The only people
- 56:11Speaker 19: voting in this primary are members of his party, and
- 56:13Speaker 19: they said get the hell out of here. And I
- 56:15Speaker 19: think that also led to a bigger picture thing, that
- 56:18Speaker 19: Trump's influence. And you and I have talked about this some, Jim,
- 56:21Speaker 19: and I think I've suggested it. I've seen some evidence
- 56:24Speaker 19: of it, and I think we saw a lot yesterday.
- 56:26Speaker 19: Trump's influence is waning. I mean, Byron Donald's only got
- 56:30Speaker 19: forty eight percent. Now, normally in a crowded primary, forty
- 56:35Speaker 19: eight percent would be gangbusters, but Byron Donald's was supposed
- 56:40Speaker 19: to run away with this. Byron Donald's own campaign claimed
- 56:43Speaker 19: in January that he was going that he had something
- 56:46Speaker 19: like fifty eight sixty percent, and that once Trump people
- 56:50Speaker 19: learned that Trump had endorsed him seventy three percent, they
- 56:53Speaker 19: said their polling showed that seventy three percent of Republicans
- 56:56Speaker 19: supported him. As it turns out, Byron Donald spent millions
- 57:00Speaker 19: of dollars telling Republicans that Trump wanted them to vote
- 57:03Speaker 19: for him, and most of them said no, yea, most
- 57:06Speaker 19: of them, fifty two percent of them chose another Republican.
- 57:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it is very interesting, and of course there
- 57:11Speaker 2: were surprises on the other side of the isle as well.
- 57:13Speaker 2: Angie Nixon was or is it Dixon or Nixon? I
- 57:16Speaker 2: always maybe that's right. Angie Nixon beats Ben Men. Bevin
- 57:19Speaker 2: Men's only been in the state for a short period
- 57:21Speaker 2: of time, but he did have a gigantic amount of
- 57:23Speaker 2: money to spend and still lost handily. By the way,
- 57:26Speaker 2: I don't know it was all that close. No, she did.
- 57:29Speaker 19: When this was Angie Nixon was a candidate who was
- 57:32Speaker 19: really not paid any attention by the media for the
- 57:35Speaker 19: for the most part in Florida, but really by h DC.
- 57:39Speaker 2: Democratic insiders.
- 57:40Speaker 19: Chuck Schumer and others had had endorsed Vinman and Benman
- 57:44Speaker 19: theoretically had a good story. He was the whistleblower, as
- 57:47Speaker 19: some people may remember, and the Trump administration. But I'll
- 57:49Speaker 19: tell you what he wasn't was He wasn't really a Floridian, right,
- 57:52Speaker 19: He just he just moved down here.
- 57:54Speaker 5: Now.
- 57:55Speaker 19: I don't think Angie Nixon. I don't think frankly, Democrats
- 57:57Speaker 19: did themselves any favor. Angie Nixon just recently joined the
- 58:01Speaker 19: Democratic Socialists of America. I do not think anybody with
- 58:06Speaker 19: that title is winning a state wide race in this
- 58:09Speaker 19: very red, very red state. In fact, there's a project
- 58:12Speaker 19: that called the University of Virginia called the Crystal.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Ball, and they.
- 58:17Speaker 19: Make prognostications on Senate and congress congressional races. And last night,
- 58:22Speaker 19: after she won, they moved that the Florida race out
- 58:26Speaker 19: of even being in contention, right to say it's a
- 58:28Speaker 19: safe Republican seat, like there's nothing. But you know, but
- 58:31Speaker 19: I don't think Florida Democrats care about that. And I
- 58:34Speaker 19: think you could possibly give them some props for saying
- 58:37Speaker 19: they didn't want a carpetbagger who they didn't think would
- 58:39Speaker 19: be here. Nixon has been in the legislature, she's been working,
- 58:42Speaker 19: and they said they wanted to have her even if
- 58:45Speaker 19: it leads to their own divide.
- 58:46Speaker 2: Well, how crazy. But you're right. I think the being
- 58:50Speaker 2: in Florida for only three years was a big player.
- 58:53Speaker 2: The carpet bagging thing obviously came through. That was one
- 58:55Speaker 2: of the only things we heard when we mentioned a
- 58:56Speaker 2: little bit earlier.
- 58:58Speaker 6: Yea, And if we can when you're in Florida the
- 59:01Speaker 6: way Florida is three years, is it being like twenty
- 59:04Speaker 6: years in another state?
- 59:06Speaker 2: Really? So it's like dog ear. You've got it on
- 59:09Speaker 2: a dog ear where.
- 59:10Speaker 19: You yeah, anything else does, and let me yeah yeah,
- 59:15Speaker 19: because let me take a theme from that. The same
- 59:17Speaker 19: way that Democrats rejected somebody who wasn't they didn't think
- 59:21Speaker 19: it really cut their teeth on on Florida politics. In
- 59:25Speaker 19: Orange County, there was another big upset in the mayor's race.
- 59:29Speaker 19: Stephanie Murphy was a member of Congress, a respected member
- 59:32Speaker 19: of Congress, memory serve. She stepped down. She wasn't defeated.
- 59:36Speaker 19: She came in and had She had more money than
- 59:39Speaker 19: the other three candidates combined, and she had big checks.
- 59:43Speaker 19: She had one hundred thousand dollars from Disney. To the
- 59:45Speaker 19: best of my knowledge, Disney has never given a candidate
- 59:48Speaker 19: one hundred thousand dollars. Sometimes it's like, you know, you
- 59:51Speaker 19: laundered through these packs and things, and it ended up
- 59:54Speaker 19: not doing her any favors. She didn't even make the runoff.
- 59:57Speaker 19: There were four candidates, she didn't make the top two. Instead,
- 1:00:02Speaker 19: voters in Orange County voted for Tiffany Moore Russell, who's
- 1:00:05Speaker 19: been a county commissioner and a clerk of Court. I
- 1:00:07Speaker 19: think you're going to probably guess she's going to be
- 1:00:09Speaker 19: our next mayor because the second place guy who just
- 1:00:12Speaker 19: beat Sephanie Murphy by one point, as a Republican named
- 1:00:15Speaker 19: Chris Messina, he got about twenty eight percent of the vote.
- 1:00:18Speaker 19: Well that's about how many Republicans there are in Florida.
- 1:00:21Speaker 19: And while twenty eight percent, I mean, excuse me, an
- 1:00:23Speaker 19: Orange County. And while twenty eight percent was enough to
- 1:00:25Speaker 19: make a runoff in a four way race, I still
- 1:00:28Speaker 19: think it's going to be about twenty eight percent and
- 1:00:29Speaker 19: a two way race, and he's not gonna assume much better.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: So what are the experts saying?
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: What?
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: What?
- 1:00:34Speaker 10: What?
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: It was the problem with Stephanie Murphy's campaign? Well, yeah, I.
- 1:00:41Speaker 19: Personally think one of the stumbling points was all that
- 1:00:43Speaker 19: big money. I don't think I don't think people liked it. Now,
- 1:00:46Speaker 19: do I think that you know a majority of voters
- 1:00:49Speaker 19: see one hundred thousand dollars from Disney and just think
- 1:00:52Speaker 19: it's disgusting. No, but she missed the runoff by one point.
- 1:00:56Speaker 19: And do I think there are that many people who say,
- 1:00:59Speaker 19: you know what, sick of having candidates who have the
- 1:01:02Speaker 19: tourism stamp of approval on there? And it cost her
- 1:01:05Speaker 19: making the runoff.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I do, Scott.
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: I watched the debate and I was a big Stephanie
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: Murphy fan going into it, and I thought she got
- 1:01:13Speaker 6: she got best, and she didn't come out of that
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: debate great. I thought, uh, more did well and I
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: thought your Reba did well. Uh but and she ended
- 1:01:23Speaker 6: up finishing fourth in last night's voting.
- 1:01:25Speaker 19: But yeah, I think I liked Jean well. I like
- 1:01:29Speaker 19: Stephanie and I thought she's very serious. But uh uh
- 1:01:32Speaker 19: and she and frankly, in my opinion, she was the
- 1:01:34Speaker 19: cleanest candidate. Uribe had some messyeness. She was the one
- 1:01:38Speaker 19: we talked about one time before she took her skybox
- 1:01:40Speaker 19: tickets yep, and uh gave them to her husband's charity.
- 1:01:44Speaker 19: These were taxpayer things. I didn't like that.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:01:46Speaker 19: Even more, Russell had some fine campaign finance stuff I
- 1:01:49Speaker 19: wrote about I was not happy about. Stephanie Murphy was
- 1:01:51Speaker 19: pretty clean. But Mayor Ariba also did something that really
- 1:01:55Speaker 19: ticked off Democrats. She didn't resign her seat to run
- 1:01:58Speaker 19: for this office, and by and by not resigning her
- 1:02:01Speaker 19: seat in time, she gave it to Ron DeSantis to
- 1:02:04Speaker 19: fill to a point with the Republican and a lot
- 1:02:06Speaker 19: of Democrats are like, why are you clinging on to
- 1:02:08Speaker 19: another two or three months of office and giving ron
- 1:02:11Speaker 19: to Santis. So she finished in a real distant four.
- 1:02:14Speaker 19: One thing I liked about Myra was she was the
- 1:02:16Speaker 19: only one really sticking to the tourism ministry.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: That's it. I got her.
- 1:02:22Speaker 19: Yeah, yeah, right, well that, but I think the other
- 1:02:25Speaker 19: things overshadowed that. Stephanie had also talked about diversifying the
- 1:02:30Speaker 19: hotel tax. Interestingly, Tiffany Moore Russell has not said much
- 1:02:33Speaker 19: about things like that, and I think and oh, and
- 1:02:35Speaker 19: here's another thing. You want to know how lobbying and
- 1:02:38Speaker 19: endorsements work. The Hotel and Lobby and Lodging Association endorsed
- 1:02:42Speaker 19: Stephanie Murphy early on, when apparently they started reading their
- 1:02:45Speaker 19: own polls. They also endorsed Tiffany Moore Russell. So the
- 1:02:51Speaker 19: two people running against each other in the same race, presumably,
- 1:02:54Speaker 19: I'm thinking, so they can say, oh see, we endorse
- 1:02:56Speaker 19: the weather.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: That's funny because you know, going with what Jackson about
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: watching the debate. The thing I read this morning about
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: Stephanie Murphy and one of the reasons she did so poorly,
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: and it was a big story other than just Central
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: Florida because of how much money she had, and of
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: course we kind of linked money to opportunity and wins
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: in politics these days. But they said that she really
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: was kind of tepping on the topic, so she really
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: wouldn't make a stance on things and tried to play
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: middle of the road just to get into the runoff
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: and then lean on maybe her cash at that point
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: to inundate the county with ads. But it did not
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: work that way. She did not take a stance on anything,
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: and apparently that came back to bite her. That's what
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: I read this morning. Yeah, I think there's some truth.
- 1:03:33Speaker 19: I think a lot of people who followed the process
- 1:03:35Speaker 19: and didn't think that Stephanie Murphy really understood the issues,
- 1:03:38Speaker 19: and because she wasn't part of the issues for the
- 1:03:40Speaker 19: last four or eight years like these other folks were.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: I think she studied up.
- 1:03:44Speaker 19: I think she was very smart, but I think it
- 1:03:47Speaker 19: looked like she was a newcomer to a lot of
- 1:03:48Speaker 19: this stuff. That said, I'm the guy who asked all
- 1:03:51Speaker 19: four of these candidates. I think it was sixteen questions
- 1:03:55Speaker 19: and went through ninety thousand words or whatever it was.
- 1:03:59Speaker 19: I can tell you what relative certainty, Tiffany Moore Russell
- 1:04:01Speaker 19: gave the Vegas answers of any of these candidates when
- 1:04:06Speaker 19: it came to what they were going to do. So
- 1:04:08Speaker 19: make what Sue will of that.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Anything else that stood out last.
- 1:04:12Speaker 19: Night, Yes, I think the biggest thing, and this is
- 1:04:15Speaker 19: what I'm gonna be writen about Sunday, is the school
- 1:04:17Speaker 19: board race. And normally listener's ears might glaze over when
- 1:04:22Speaker 19: you talk about school board politics, but there was a
- 1:04:24Speaker 19: big one here. There was a Mom's for Liberty candidate
- 1:04:27Speaker 19: running against a veteran's school board member, and the Mom's
- 1:04:30Speaker 19: for Liberty candidate named Alicia Farran. She's one who'd appeared
- 1:04:33Speaker 19: with Ron De Santis at a book banning events, one
- 1:04:36Speaker 19: who tried to get John Green, you know, the hometown
- 1:04:39Speaker 19: author John Green, Award winning, a guy responsible for getting
- 1:04:42Speaker 19: a generation of teens interested in reading, tried to get
- 1:04:45Speaker 19: one of his books banned because one book I read,
- 1:04:49Speaker 19: the whole damn book after she started fussing about it,
- 1:04:51Speaker 19: had like two pages with the sex scene. And I've
- 1:04:53Speaker 19: always said, if my teenage son, who has access to
- 1:04:57Speaker 19: porn on his phone and probably if his friends, if
- 1:05:00Speaker 19: he read a three hundred and fifty page book so
- 1:05:02Speaker 19: that he could score one page of sex. I think
- 1:05:05Speaker 19: I'd give him a raise, I'd give him an allowance,
- 1:05:07Speaker 19: I'd take him out.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: I mean yeah.
- 1:05:09Speaker 19: Anyway, So Alicia Farrant was running against Antie Gallo, who
- 1:05:13Speaker 19: was really anti Moms for Liberty, and Moms for Liberty
- 1:05:16Speaker 19: got crushed in Orange County, just demolished. It was, uh,
- 1:05:20Speaker 19: it was like fifty eight forty two something like that.
- 1:05:22Speaker 19: It was not even And I believe this was I
- 1:05:24Speaker 19: think this was a moment where this community was showing
- 1:05:26Speaker 19: that we are not like a lot of what Florida
- 1:05:29Speaker 19: makes headlines for here in Orange County, right, the parents
- 1:05:33Speaker 19: here aren't interested in book Bannon. They're not interested in
- 1:05:36Speaker 19: having their school board discussions be obsessed with like transgender
- 1:05:41Speaker 19: stuff and and girls and boys sports. They just want
- 1:05:45Speaker 19: to talk about schools and education and books and not
- 1:05:47Speaker 19: having whitewashed history.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Lest Yeah, that's uh that I saw that that the
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: Moms for Liberty, But they've kind of been losing power
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: since the is it not the Whope Florida thing they were?
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Were they in It was.
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: Sixty minute interview with Scott Pelley. I thought that started
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: a downward trend for them.
- 1:06:04Speaker 13: But.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: That was there. That's the threesome thing, right exactly, that
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: was the one because uh yeah, because Bridget yeah right,
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: yeah yeah yeah.
- 1:06:13Speaker 19: So Bridget hear no, but he he's absolutely right. So
- 1:06:18Speaker 19: Bridget Ziegler and her peers basically took over the Sarasota
- 1:06:22Speaker 19: County school Board. And then after that came out after
- 1:06:25Speaker 19: Bridget had been lecturing all these other families about family morality,
- 1:06:30Speaker 19: and the cops turned.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Over she and her husband.
- 1:06:33Speaker 19: I think, if memory serves, their long list of threesomes
- 1:06:36Speaker 19: they were looking for and things like that. Now, the
- 1:06:39Speaker 19: Sarasota school Board, I think as of this week, all
- 1:06:42Speaker 19: those people are gone except for one. So you're right,
- 1:06:45Speaker 19: they have turned over. Now, that doesn't stop the Moms
- 1:06:47Speaker 19: from Liberty from peddling their own narrative. Just today I
- 1:06:50Speaker 19: got a release from the Moms for Liberty saying they're
- 1:06:52Speaker 19: as strong as ever, that nobody should pre write their
- 1:06:55Speaker 19: prematurely write their obituary. They claimed to have uh one
- 1:06:59Speaker 19: thirteen of the fifteen races they endorsed, but I think
- 1:07:02Speaker 19: they used some fake math for that.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: I mean, they picked counties like Clay and Bay that
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: you know they probably have eight people in them.
- 1:07:08Speaker 19: Somehow they didn't include Orange County, where their candidate was
- 1:07:12Speaker 19: running for school board.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: That wasn't on their list of losing endorsements. I don't
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: know how they came up with it, but they're still
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: out there.
- 1:07:18Speaker 19: But I think you're right that they the public sentiment
- 1:07:20Speaker 19: has said they had enough.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: And Jack's right.
- 1:07:23Speaker 19: I think it was crystallized in that sixty minutes piece.
- 1:07:26Speaker 19: That sixty minutes piece focused on a very conservative community
- 1:07:30Speaker 19: in South Carolina, just outside of Charleston.
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: I think it was.
- 1:07:33Speaker 19: It was full of military veterans who were on the
- 1:07:35Speaker 19: school board, and the Moms for Liberty came in. I
- 1:07:37Speaker 19: don't remember how many they wanted to ban, like one
- 1:07:39Speaker 19: hundred and thirteen books, and these people in that conservative
- 1:07:42Speaker 19: community read every single one of the books like I
- 1:07:44Speaker 19: did after Alicia Frun and they said.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: You're crazy.
- 1:07:47Speaker 19: Yeah, you're crazy for trying to try and this isn't
- 1:07:50Speaker 19: what we want our kids to learn, the calculus in biology,
- 1:07:53Speaker 19: and we don't want this to happen.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: And I think there's been a lot of pushback. Yeah,
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: man's I think that's great news. Again, I think that
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: when when you start mixing those two messages it becomes
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: very dangerous. And that's happened for many years. It actually
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: continues to happen. I mean, if you're saying it's up
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: in Clay County, my god man, what is green Cove
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: Springs gonna do?
- 1:08:14Speaker 8: Right?
- 1:08:14Speaker 19: I mean, if the Monster Liberty want to say they
- 1:08:16Speaker 19: got Clay and Bay and maybe Brevard, all right, you
- 1:08:20Speaker 19: got them right.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: I think green Cove Springs claim to fame is that
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: that that ship graveyard up there that's off the Saint
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: John's River. There you go.
- 1:08:29Speaker 19: So we got a lot more to go. There's a
- 1:08:32Speaker 19: lot of races that didn't even have primaries. The Attorney
- 1:08:34Speaker 19: General James Uthbayer didn't have a primary. He's gonna be
- 1:08:37Speaker 19: that's that's gonna be a battle. I don't think we
- 1:08:40Speaker 19: didn't even talk about the Democratic nominee. I think, for instance,
- 1:08:43Speaker 19: Ashley Moody is going to probably wipe the floor with
- 1:08:46Speaker 19: Angie Nickson in the US Senate race.
- 1:08:48Speaker 9: Yep.
- 1:08:48Speaker 19: I don't think Byron Donald's, if I had to make
- 1:08:50Speaker 19: a prediction right now, is going to win as handily.
- 1:08:53Speaker 19: I'm always gonna put money on the Republican candidate in
- 1:08:56Speaker 19: dark red Florida, but I don't think the party did
- 1:08:59Speaker 19: themselves any faith when Byron ducked all those debates. Remember
- 1:09:02Speaker 19: he refused to debate a single one of his Republican opponents.
- 1:09:06Speaker 19: I don't think he fares very well when he's asked
- 1:09:08Speaker 19: to think on his feet. I don't think he has
- 1:09:10Speaker 19: good answers. I think his wife's been involved some stuff
- 1:09:13Speaker 19: that he doesn't like to talk about.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: So yeah, I think that's gonna be more interesting to want.
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: The one thing I do though, is, you know, obviously
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: we've heard about Byron Donalds because he's been in the
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: Republican scene. Republicans have dominated Florida politics for decades now.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: And you hear about it him, you hear his name.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: Of course, you hear Trump talking about him, and and
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: his name is top of mind when it comes to
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: Republicans central Florida. But I hear nothing about David Jolly.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: I don't know anything about David Jolly. His name is
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: not being really I don't know. Our Democrats just not
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: spending money on him because they don't think he's got
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: a chance.
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: He's aired his first commercial out today, and really it
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: goes to the wark offers.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: Is that what it is?
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: You know when you and and you know, for all
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: of those believing the data centers, no data centers in
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: Florida from Byron Donalds, chase the money and see who's
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: given him his money for his camp. There's no way
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: he's going to be able to keep that promise to
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: the people of Florida.
- 1:10:04Speaker 19: And I'm going to be curious to see whether data
- 1:10:06Speaker 19: centers is really a dividing issue. I'm not convinced it will.
- 1:10:10Speaker 19: But to your point, Jim, most people don't know David Jolly.
- 1:10:13Speaker 19: So before the primary, Byron Donald's tried to introduce Florida
- 1:10:16Speaker 19: to David Jolly by running all these campaigns that were
- 1:10:19Speaker 19: about transgender and girls and boys bathrooms.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: And things like that.
- 1:10:23Speaker 19: Now I'm going to submit that on my list of
- 1:10:25Speaker 19: twenty five things I care about. That issue doesn't make
- 1:10:29Speaker 19: the list. But he's trying to define him by that
- 1:10:31Speaker 19: before folks get a chance to meet David Jolly themselves.
- 1:10:35Speaker 19: And one other thing. They want to call Angie Nixon,
- 1:10:38Speaker 19: you know, a flaming lefty. That's accurate, that's accurate. That
- 1:10:43Speaker 19: accusation does not fly with David Jim. It's a Republican,
- 1:10:48Speaker 19: not just a Republican, a Republican in Congress.
- 1:10:50Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: Yeah, And the Nixon thing is kind of interesting too,
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: because I think didn't she already kind of start stepping
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: away from the title of Democratic Socialist? Didn't she already
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: when she was asked about it, like almost immediately she said,
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: you know, I don't deal with titles or tabs or
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: names or something like that, or there's nothing in a name.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: I mean, she was trying to kind of distance herself
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: from that, because I mean, that's what Republicans are doing.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: They're using. If you read anything on Fox News right now,
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: you're going to see that name. If you just go
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: to the front page of their website, that word is
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: used fifty times in thirty stories. You know, it's it's
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: it's what they're running on, it's what they're really defending.
- 1:11:25Speaker 19: And I don't think she'll be able to run away
- 1:11:26Speaker 19: from that. And frankly, I need to check on the
- 1:11:28Speaker 19: timing for that. But what I do know is that
- 1:11:30Speaker 19: she joined the Democratic Socialists recently, like during this campaign.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: So if she.
- 1:11:35Speaker 19: Joined and then ran away, okay, I don't think she's
- 1:11:38Speaker 19: going to be able to outrun that.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: But anyway, yeah, for sure, Well, Buddy's always good hearing
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: from you. You can read his columns on Wednesday's, Thursdays and Sundays.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: It's the great Scott Maxwell. Good in loud. Guys, We'll
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: see you soon. But I love the caller by the way.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: All right, thanks all right? Four seven nine six one
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: four one text seven seven zero three one back in
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: just one sec more of the Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:12:07Speaker 20: Hey, and keeping with the pet segment you just had. Yeah,
- 1:12:11Speaker 20: today in history in nineteen sixty there were two dogs.
- 1:12:15Speaker 20: You gotta look at their pictures. They're adorable. Belka and
- 1:12:18Speaker 20: Strelka were the first two animals from planet Earth to
- 1:12:22Speaker 20: successfully go around in a Russian rocket and then come
- 1:12:25Speaker 20: back to Earth safely. Look them up there, adorable Belka
- 1:12:29Speaker 20: and Strelka.
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: Y'all have a good day.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: Yeah, we have them up right now. I'll checked it out.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: That's pretty cool. All right, welcome back to the Jim
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: Goober Show. Already one to four point one. They made
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: it like a cartoon movie.
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: Out of them.
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: Yeah, well cool. I think they were kind of celebrity dolls.
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: Have like stuffed versions. Yeah, and then on one I
- 1:12:48Speaker 6: saw they have them like stuffed it in glass.
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: What would be the American version of that?
- 1:12:53Speaker 6: There's the stuffed in the glass. Did we send up
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: monkeys or Chipanzee?
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think. I don't think anything came back
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: with us, right, No, I don't believe. I don't think
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: anything made it back with us. I think we had
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: a couple of them we sent up there. But what
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: I'm saying is, yeah they said they did though, Right,
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: What animal would we have in our culture that would
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: be deserved of like a movie? I mean, like you
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: know Rent in ten Lassie, But those are all fictional characters, right,
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: don't Do we have a dog that did something cool
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: that you could make a movie over.
- 1:13:26Speaker 9: The right?
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: Which was one that that where the dog ran and
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: got help for?
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: Uh?
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: What is called the wild? Which one is that?
- 1:13:33Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: Was it Buck?
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: I think Homeward Bound was a I believe so Jeter
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: used to get the newspaper make a movie there.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: It's pretty good. Yeah, I used to make movies. Yeah,
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: all right, welcome back on Jim. There's deb Hello jack
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: z here as well. Coming up at the end of
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: this month is going to be a really really cool event.
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: It is fourteen sketches that is happening in Mount Door
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: with our very own Ross Paget Comedian of the Year
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: according to The Orlando Weekly. Yea, yeah, how about that
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: only his best comedian he is. That's like the sixth
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: one I think for him. There they congratulations to him.
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: Of course, his buddy Joel Warren. Actually, Joel's calling us
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: today to talk about Good Sauce that comes on tonight
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: at eight o'clock. Joel is his partner in crime, and
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: that show is going to Mount Door. I believe this
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: is the first time they've done this outside of the
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: Fringe Fest when it comes to like picking out of
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: the twenty that they have the fourteen best and then
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: providing that as like a show. Yeah, so you know
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: the year one, when they did it three years ago
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: at the Fringe, it was or two and a half years.
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: It was ten sketches, and then the next year they
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: did ten more. So they've done twenty total, but never
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: in one show. They've only done ten. So what they
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: did is they took their fourteen best in that. So
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: it'll probably be.
- 1:14:45Speaker 6: About a ninety minute maybe seventy five or one hundred
- 1:14:49Speaker 6: and five minutes show hour and forty five minutes. Sure, Yeah,
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: and it's gonna be all them on stage doing these sketches,
- 1:14:56Speaker 6: and some of them are fantastic, others are good.
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: I saw the gay Cowboy win yesterday on Instagram. Yeah,
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: it made the rounds. It's pretty funny. And some of them,
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: and actually it's one that Joel wrote. We could talk
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: about it.
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: But the baseball sketchy appin it's just brilliant.
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: It is so good. All this is also just produced
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: right here in Orlando, written and staged and acted out
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: by Joel and Ross. And I gotta tell you if
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: you want something different for entertainment. I mean, movies are fine,
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: there's nothing wrong with stand up. But this is like
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: a This is like imagine like a live SNL show.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: You're getting like a Live Center live like a sketch
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: comedy written and performed by both of these guys. And
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: it's really funny. I'm telling you, dude, it is. It
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: is pro level stuff. So you are going to have
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: a very good time. And the cool thing is it
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: doesn't stop. There is no are are they having a no?
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: I think it's just continually through, right, so you never
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: have to worry about being entertained, right.
- 1:15:57Speaker 6: Each one is about six minutes long, and then they
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: just you know, they leave this stage they come back
- 1:16:02Speaker 6: and they do another one. Yeah, completely different story, but
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: funny nonetheless, and I mean it's always great. We love
- 1:16:08Speaker 6: the mount Door of Music Hall there six thirty doors
- 1:16:11Speaker 6: will open, that show will start at eight. This is
- 1:16:13Speaker 6: on Saturday, August twenty ninth. I'm gonna be there. I'm
- 1:16:18Speaker 6: looking forward to it. And you know they have VIP
- 1:16:21Speaker 6: seating as well as general admission. But get your tickets
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: down Real Radio dot FM, slash Comedy. Yeah yeah, don't
- 1:16:27Speaker 6: wait on it, just get it. Get good seats. You
- 1:16:29Speaker 6: get to pick your seat and it's gonna be a
- 1:16:33Speaker 6: night you're gonna you're gonna be glad you win.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: Yeah, one hundred percent. I'll be there as well. I
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: can't wait for it. I know DEVI will be there right.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: Oh yeah yeah, it's gonna be good ass time. So yeah,
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: I get your tickets at Rosscomedy dot com or Real
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: Radio dot FM slash Comedy. Somebody said that Boto is
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: a real dog. Balto is that the sled dog? I
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: think so that is. I think this is the sled dog, right,
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: it has to do it snow in Alaska. Yeah yeah,
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: but I figure what he did.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: This is any one of the I who first brought
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: the medicine.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: That's exactly what it was. Yeah, the medicine to gnome right,
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: and of course the Saint Bernard we saw in all
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: the Looney Tunes with the whiskey and the jug. That's
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: very important, very important dog.
- 1:17:15Speaker 15: Right.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: I can't think of others or the other animals that
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: we could actually memor uh memorialize in a movie.
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: I think we've got the Kentucky Derby winners. We've had
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: a couple of horse movies.
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: But then okay, so stick with me on this. I mean,
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: so with this or the two dogs again, Smoko and
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: Choco or whatever. But they went to space like they
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: did something like extraordinary.
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: I mean they didn't. They were put into a space capsule.
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: The big look on their face was like, dude, I
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: didn't sign up for this. Well do you think the
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: newspaper you think those sled dogs want to do that?
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: If you ever seen a sled dog, I mean I've
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: seen it. They can't wait. They look happy, But I mean,
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: is that just training.
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: I've never seen a dog who, you know, cries and
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: hulls at the rope like that. And I wish I
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: don't know enough about machine to complain about their living conditions.
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: But from the way it looks, it looks like those
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: dogs live to run.
- 1:18:08Speaker 10: Dude.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: That is real man stuff too. By the way, just
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: when you think you've done something in life, you just
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: read about the idea to rod and you are not there.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: I mean, that is a different human being that does that.
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, without a doubt.
- 1:18:19Speaker 6: And Balto already has a movie, Jim animated feature. You're
- 1:18:24Speaker 6: on deb shortlist of you know the watch Have you
- 1:18:27Speaker 6: seen Balto?
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: By the way, no, no, no, all right four seven
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: nine four one again text us at seven seven zero three.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: You want to tease the public story, I will tell
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: you what publics is changing. And i gotta tell you
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: I'm not one hundred percent short. It's gonna affect anybody
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: because I'm not sure anybody paid attention. I'll tell you
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: what it is next.
- 1:18:53Speaker 9: Actually, faul Tolely did the last ten miles of that trip.
- 1:18:56Speaker 9: There's another dog named Toga that did all of the
- 1:18:59Speaker 9: miles and all of the dangerous stuff that they put
- 1:19:01Speaker 9: in those movies. The file Electrician made a video about it.
- 1:19:04Speaker 9: The dog's name is Toga.
- 1:19:10Speaker 8: Yes, we set up and the chimp and he came
- 1:19:13Speaker 8: back safely am uh my uncle, my mom's brother. Our
- 1:19:19Speaker 8: hill invented the life support system that I am used
- 1:19:24Speaker 8: in space. True story.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: Out of that respond to that.
- 1:19:34Speaker 6: Ham the chimp yep, like I said, do not who
- 1:19:37Speaker 6: knew evil? I was connected to the person responsible for
- 1:19:40Speaker 6: keeping him.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: Alive us Now, yeah, all right, welcome back to the
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: Jim Cors Show or a Radio one to four point one.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: Thanks for tuning in. Appreciate that very much. Big thanks
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: to the friends over at the Orlando Weekly for other
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: wonderful accolades for the program. If you haven't heard, we
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: won the uh let's see, we were third best radio show.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: Dead was third best Voice in Radio. Real Radio was
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: number one. Brandon Kravitz was second best Sports and the
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: third best sports Ross pageant wins Best Comedian in Central
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Florida Peed Alliance It was just in here wins five awards.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: Tom a Corporate Time with Tom and Dan won a
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: couple of awards, a couple they won like four. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: good job guys for Radio Dominant. I love it. Welcome back.
- 1:20:24Speaker 7: I'm Jim.
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: There's deb Hello. Jack is here as well. He is
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: our public shoppers. Get ready, You're about to see something
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: completely different. In your public shopping and your public shopping experience.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: And then it really isn't that big of a deal
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: moving away from the color green. That's not ever going
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: to be it. I mean that.
- 1:20:45Speaker 6: Green is for the money you gotta bring. That's a reminder.
- 1:20:48Speaker 6: When you're in the parking lot, you see the sign
- 1:20:50Speaker 6: and like, oh, that's right, I got to bring any money.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: I better have a lot of this before I go
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: in there. Uh no, what do you think?
- 1:20:57Speaker 10: Never?
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: What could it be? What do you think public has chang?
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: By the way, no self checkouts?
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: No?
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: Oh, but by the way, every store has this. Every
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: grocery store I've ever been in has this. Public's is
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: the first I've heard that is nixing it. And to
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: be honest with you, it's kind of weird because I
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: mean I've used it a bunch of times. Public bathroom, No,
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: can't pay at the service desk. Ooh, that is a
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: damn good one. And the thing is is that's my
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: That is like, that's a straight up Public's cheat code.
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: If you only have like a couple of handful of things,
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: you go straight to where they like sell a lot
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: of retickets and stuff and they have to check you out.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: I gotta get cigarettes. And when I go on this
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: zero no more express lanes, Oh, no more ten items
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: or less. What they've taken away the ten items or
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: less lane. You you don't, they're not doing that anymore.
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: What they're doing it now is just calling They're calling
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: it express lane, which means nothing. It literally means it
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: means nothing.
- 1:22:00Speaker 6: It's one of the only lanes with the human in
- 1:22:02Speaker 6: it because the rest will be self checkout.
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it says. The Florida based Public Supermarket has dropped
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: the traditional ten ten item limit from its express lanes,
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: giving some store employees and more flexibility to manage checkout
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: traffic and potentially reduce weight times. Now, I mean, I
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: don't know about you guys, but I'm one of the
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: few people that kind of adhered to that. Oh I
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: did too. I would literally pull over before I went
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: to check out. And how and now look here's would
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: you give yourself phones if you don't want to be
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: the d bag who goes in with twenty items. But
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: if you've got a lessons, well, what is your limit?
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: Because I gotta tell you, I created my own.
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: Limit anything under fifteen, So like, what if it's ten
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: or less that's what it says.
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: It says ten or less. You're going in with fifteen, Well, I.
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: Mean maybe not fifteen. That's well listen.
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: Here's the other thing too. I rational gets way even worse.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: Check you if you're mad at her rationale, prepare your anger, buddy,
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: because it's gonna get worse. I determine it on the
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: size of the items. If I go into that lane
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: and I have like thirteen items, but two of them
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: are like hams or turkeys or or big items like that,
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: I consider that like more than one item. So if
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: I have like eleven items, but two of them are
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: giant or a twelve pack of beer or something, I
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: will go to another lane because I think that's I
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: don't I don't know why a twelve pack of beer
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: is one item. It is one item. You're correct, okay,
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: but it's a big item. And for some reason, I
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: always thought those ten item checkout things were for small
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: stuff that it gets scan pretty quick. I don't even
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: think you should be able to take like your produce
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: in there that they have to weigh.
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: I'm just about to say this so reminds me the
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: Progressive commercial where they talk about turning into your parents
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: and they're going through the express lane and the guy
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: hands over a bag of produce and says, this counts
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: as one.
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: But that's exactly like, I don't think you should be
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: in there because that slows everything down, the items that
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: you go and do the express lane, especially the ten
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: items when that was still there should be things that
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: are easy to scan, like when you're taking like you
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: know you have that, that doesn't matter.
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: You're still gonna end up behind the little old lady
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: who's going to pay for some of it and cash
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: bit and pennies. Oh she forgot that coupon it?
- 1:24:02Speaker 10: Oh?
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: Can I write a check for the rest?
- 1:24:04Speaker 10: Oh?
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the worst ever.
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: And by the way, there's not an express about that.
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: Don't ever get behind an old person in a checkout
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: line because the minute they've reached in that person, by
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: the way, you've already unloaded your basket and there's already
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: some behind you, so you're stuck. It's like being in
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: a drive through. Yeah, well you've pulled in there and
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: now there are fifteen people behind you and it's taken forever.
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: You can't go anywhere. Exactly that scenario that lady is
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: gonna pay, can I pay with this for a check
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: from Canada? Is a bogo one item or two? How
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: dare you do that mucking up the system? It's not two.
- 1:24:40Speaker 6: Items check, it's one sale, but it's two items. They
- 1:24:45Speaker 6: it's every time you scan something that's an item, right.
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you have to scan both of purposes. Yeah, but
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: you only get charge one but charge zero. By the way,
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: you need to start checking your receipts for those. By
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: the way, what were you gonna say?
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: No, I was gonna say, technically, yeah, there's only one
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: item on the receipt, so you could just pretend that
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: I think the other end disappeared.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: It shows up.
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: See all he doesn't play around all, he doesn't play
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: with that. Alli just says, enter this area at your
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: own risk. Yeah. And then because I'm telling you there
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: is no more mad mugging than somebody taking too long
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: checking out at Aldie. Yeah. And for people who haven't
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: been the Aldie, there are no belts. No, there's nobody there.
- 1:25:29Speaker 10: No, we have no.
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: No, don't have a belt. We do not have belts
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: that are Aldie. You walk up and it's just the
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: register and you pull it out one by one and
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: you put it and you put it in the bag
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: and you off you go. Oh you have an Aldi
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: from like the eighteen hundred. I guess we have a belt.
- 1:25:44Speaker 6: There's no express There's always like one checkout person. If
- 1:25:48Speaker 6: the line hits the freezer, the freezer area or the
- 1:25:52Speaker 6: end cap, then they'll open up a second one. But
- 1:25:55Speaker 6: it's like the checkout person also is the stop person
- 1:25:58Speaker 6: because if there's no there, they're going and they're doing
- 1:26:02Speaker 6: something else and they it's like they get paid by
- 1:26:04Speaker 6: how many people they moved through because they move so fast.
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: And there are like three employees that are working Aldie
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: and I don't care if it's seventy thousand square feet
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: and god forbid you have a question, don't do that
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: at Aldie. Look, Aldie is there for the basic. You
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: go in there, you're on your own, You get it,
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: you get out. It is the most adult grocery experience
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: you're gonna have. Nobody's babying you at Aldie. Aldie is
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: like being raised by the military. It is like you
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: get in, you get your stuff, the blank out of
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: my face, time out.
- 1:26:32Speaker 6: You and I have different all the experiences because I've
- 1:26:35Speaker 6: always had great interaction when I had to ask someone
- 1:26:38Speaker 6: a question. And also you're talking about your forty pound
- 1:26:41Speaker 6: ground beef yesterday at Aldi forty dollars.
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, thank you. I went and it was there.
- 1:26:47Speaker 6: Grass fed organic beef is six dollars a pounds.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: The cube for beefs too. Did you look at that
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: or did you look at ground ground beef? Yeah, ground
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: beef's about seven months a pound or rare, but that
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: cube beef is different. Q bef. Yeah, that's like state dude,
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: that's like, uh not, but it is. I still believe
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: you're wrong. Yeah, I could be who knows, but that
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: all the experienced. I mean that look, man, the public's thing.
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: That's like being raised by like h like parents, like
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: wealthy parents, but it almost got like sometimes it's like
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: a little too helpful well with publics. Yeah, that's a
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: lot of questions. Did you find everything you needed? I'm here.
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: I just sometimes it's a little it's like, yeah, you know,
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: are they robots too much kindness? A little bit? It's
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: uh that Chick fil A. And by the way, the
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: other thing that Aldi will do that is like Aldi
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: does not care about what time it is when when
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: it's time to stock a shelf. Aldi isn't going to
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: bring out like a shopping cart of stuff and stock
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: the shells. All the's going to drag out a full
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: blown warehouse lift with a with a palette of s
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: and it covers up half the aisle. It blocks a
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: third of the products you want to shop to and
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: it is like two thirty Sunday afternoon. They don't give
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: a damn dude. I don't understand you're spitting all this
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: hate on Aldi.
- 1:28:11Speaker 21: You.
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: I promise you I it's a great experience. But these
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: guys are like, look, they just don't care about your feelings.
- 1:28:17Speaker 6: A bunch Sundays. That is the busy side me on
- 1:28:21Speaker 6: a Sunday once I go okay, I'm not.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: Doing that again. That's what when I told you last
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: week when I went, we went there to get stuff
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: to make my dog's food with, because we make our
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: dog's food and we wanted We just went in there
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: for like spinach, sweet potatoes and ground beef and bro
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: let me tell you, I came out with three bullet wounds.
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: It's like a war in there, man, And do not
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: slow down in an Aldie. They should make those baskets smaller.
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: By the way, the Aldie baskets are really big. They're
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: like Walmart bag you know, the carts, they're like Walmart carts.
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: So you go in there and the aisles aren't that big.
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: So if there's like two people in the aisle, you
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: can't go anywhere. I gotta go to your you do.
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: I have to experience it. And they just opened a
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: new one, by the way, So he just texted earlier
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: and said the one that they built one up the street,
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: probably about four miles and it just opened. Maybe that
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: one's got belts, Yeah, I'm sure it does. Mine does.
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: Mine was built in the twentieth century or twenty first. Yeah,
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: but so are so as far as Public's goes, no
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: more ten items or less, I guess you just slide
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: in there. I don't even know what express means. Now,
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: what does that mean?
- 1:29:23Speaker 6: It's human, it's got it's it's kind of be human. Yeah,
- 1:29:28Speaker 6: just the fact that it's not self checkout.
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: But they still call it express. I don't understand. It
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: says we're just going to express, we're not doing the
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: ten items thing. Well, what's express? It doesn't that means
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: it's not different than any of the other registers. What
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: does the story say? It doesn't say anything. It doesn't
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: talk about it, so it says we're going to call
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: it express. What was the other restrictions on the express
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: lane used to be? So ten items are less right, right,
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: that's it? Not the check thing, nothing else, No, nothing else.
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: I mean you'd have to pay in cash. You can
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: still pay with your car check, whatever the case may be.
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: Maybe express means there's a bag person ooh, or not
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: a bag person. I mean, isn't it wouldn't a bag
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: person get you through sooner? Yeah? But I mean publics.
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: If it's busy, publics will bring over some bag boys
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: or bag girls and they'll bag your groceries. But that
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: actually gonna tell you something that's been a lot leslie Lee.
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: It used to be every single time you bought something Republics,
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: your groceries were bagged by somebody and put into York
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: because they'll ask you paper or plastic, they do the
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: whole thing. And now that is not a guarantee. I
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: have bagged my own groceries that public's will last two
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: or three times. Poor thing saying it's bad. I'm just
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: saying that's not my job. Maybe that's what expresses is
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: that they have someone to bag it. And the bag
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: people will only be at Express, man, I don't know,
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: and that way they don't have to pay for all
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: the other bag. Yeah, who knows. I'd love to tell you,
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: but my piece of s computer just frowze up and
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: I can't read the rest of the story for you,
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: like gets sneaked down to the bottom and maybe show
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: you what the answer is. But this non Mac computer
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: just to it's taking a small break. Now, Oh there
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: you go. Is this karma? You're all the everything you
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: put out so much negative? What's negative about?
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: What anything?
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: I just said on the palate I want to shop
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: and the card is too wide, it's old, with forty dollars.
- 1:31:15Speaker 10: It's all true.
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: It's not complaining, it's just true. I still go there
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: and there's no belt on my checkout on my computer
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: decided to work. All I had to do his bitch
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: out it a little bit and it works. I think
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: what they're trying to do with the Express thing is
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: like just say, looking, man, if you've got a small
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: order and you don't want to wait side over here.
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: But they're not really pointing it out. They're not giving
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: you a they're not giving you any parameters. Yeah, there
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: was no teeth, right.
- 1:31:41Speaker 6: They weren't kind of kicking anyone out, you know, they
- 1:31:45Speaker 6: never if someone had twelve items, they would never tell
- 1:31:48Speaker 6: them they could not check out.
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: And they even mentioned the payment options, like, we're not
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: gonna do anything with the payment option either. You can
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: do whatever you want, you paying bitcoin, you can pay
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: in a stolen baby. It doesn't matter, all right, four
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: seven nine four one tech does that seven to seven
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: zero three one back in just one second with more
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: of the Gym Cort show.
- 1:32:08Speaker 18: Screw.
- 1:32:09Speaker 10: Just a random thought while you're talking about grocery stores,
- 1:32:11Speaker 10: but Pore remembers old Albertson's wooden revolving table.
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, instead of a belt, you know, you.
- 1:32:19Speaker 10: Put your groceries on there and just go round and
- 1:32:21Speaker 10: around until it got full. Just random thoughts. I thought
- 1:32:24Speaker 10: that was so cool when I was a kid in
- 1:32:26Speaker 10: the eighties.
- 1:32:30Speaker 14: I had to stop working so I can send my
- 1:32:33Speaker 14: first talk back, just so I can address this ten
- 1:32:37Speaker 14: items or less over here at publics, because Jimmy want
- 1:32:42Speaker 14: to sneak up behind me and be like, what's going
- 1:32:45Speaker 14: on with that ham? You're just up in the ten
- 1:32:48Speaker 14: itims or less.
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: Line with like, am it doesn't make anything a four
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: pack of PBR. Yeah, it's a four pack. I don't
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: care that it's a four pack.
- 1:32:56Speaker 14: And I'm just sitting there looking a goofy.
- 1:33:00Speaker 9: Jimmy, I nition of I.
- 1:33:02Speaker 18: You would think if he would care about your feelings
- 1:33:05Speaker 18: at Hardy the ah German.
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a good point, everybody. Thanks Willy. What happened, Swilly?
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: I don't know where Willy. Yeah, somebody disappeared in the
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: echo chamber. He's recording that from all right for seven
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: nine text us at seven seven zero three one. Welcome
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: back on Jim, there's dead. Hello. Check is here as well, Gremlins. Uh,
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: you guys remember the grocers What grocery store was it?
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: Where you your cart actually the front of it would
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: let down onto the checkout area. Do you remember that
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: the carts were square, but the front of them had
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: a little thing where it would actually let down, and
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: you pulled your cart up and then you let your
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: little grocery bridge down and then you just kind of
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: scooped everything out on the you checked it out straight
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: from the cart. No place I went on a regular basis,
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: I will guess I remember that as a kid, though
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: I don't really, I don't remember where it was either
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: of food line. It may have been food lying, but
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: I thought, I mean, it may have been in West Virginia,
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: maybe in like an A and P or something like
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: that back in the day. But I remember specifically there
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: was a grocery store where we went where the cart
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: like had a little trip front area and instead of
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: like a belt or what he's talking about a table,
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: you just pulled it right up to the register and
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: your cart kind of provided its own belt. They you
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: just pushed stuff up and uh, and there was you
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: know that, that's what it was. You guys don't remember that.
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: I do not, but our audience will. Yeah, I'm sure
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: they will smartest out against out there.
- 1:34:32Speaker 10: All right.
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: So I saw the story in ya Who Life. I
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: kind of find interesting because I love watching generations change.
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: I don't know about you, guys. We have a unique
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: perspective being around for a few years. We watched kids
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: like we were in the eighties. Then we watched kids
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: and how they act in the nineties, two twenty tens,
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: and then on we go. Right, we're almost through the
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: twenty twenties, which is wild, but things have changed, right.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: Generation Alpha is when we've talked about for a while. Right,
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: it's like finding a bunch of feral puppies under a
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: port of an abandoned house. They just bite your fingers
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: and face off before they even ask who you are,
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: what you're doing. And they have kind of created their
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: own little language here. And one of the things that funny,
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: one of the things that's interesting is this story in
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: Y'aho Life that says Alpha generation doesn't say google it anymore,
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: So they don't do that. It's like, in other words,
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: you and I, like, you know, if you asked a
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: question I didn't know the answer to, you know, the
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: wise asked tatement, Well just google it, just google it, right,
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: They don't say that. Now they say something else. You
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: guys want to take a shot at what they say.
- 1:35:36Speaker 10: Now, do you know it?
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: I I just learned a new gen Z slang word,
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: which was polyester.
- 1:35:43Speaker 5: What is that?
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: It's like somebody's fake or something exactly what it is
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: if they call it started in the video editing community
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: when they found something was inauthentic.
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: They would say, that's so polyester.
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: But they also use it for people because they say
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: gen Z and that would be the generation before Alpha.
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: They're very insecure because they grew up with everything being online,
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: right and social media being their currency. So authenticity is
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: very important to that generation.
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: So what they would and by the way, AI, that's
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: exactly what I thought it would be. But that's not it.
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: I thought it would be like Rocket or or something
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: like that that you know, your your chat it or
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: something like that, your chosen AI. But there are so
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: many ais that you can't like. There's you know, there
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: are there's like being and so nobody uses that. Everybody
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: uses Google. That's why those two dudes are two of
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: the richest people on planet Earth. Because Google has the thing.
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: I'm gonna guess it's gonna be something so old school.
- 1:36:37Speaker 3: It's gonna be I don't read a book.
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: You're onto it, really you're onto it. It's three words.
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: And it's kind of wild that they went from that
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: because Google it still kind of applies, right, like if
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: I told you to google it, you know exactly what
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: I'm talking about at school. But what they say, the
- 1:36:53Speaker 2: reason they changed it is Google doesn't offer enough information now.
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: So when you just google something thing now, well it
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: doesn't provide you with the total story that other search
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: engines like AI can offer. So they kind of moved
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: on from.
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: That because they want you that the Googles, they want
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: you to use the AI overview, right exactly.
- 1:37:12Speaker 22: So I've noticed that deep dive it. I'm gonna say,
- 1:37:15Speaker 22: look it up, search it up, search it in other words,
- 1:37:19Speaker 22: that's what moms. And they interviewed a bunch of parents
- 1:37:21Speaker 22: in here, and the parents says, I'm never asked, can
- 1:37:24Speaker 22: I google it? They're always like, search it up, search
- 1:37:26Speaker 22: it up. In other words, they're telling you don't. You
- 1:37:29Speaker 22: don't have to use Googling.
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: Why about. Google hates this more than anything. By the way,
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: good because that's a verb now. But but I'm telling
- 1:37:37Speaker 2: you that is like all they've been living off. And
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: I'm telling you Page and Brinn are two of the
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: richest people alive because of Google and the ads and
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: the power to the new generation. That's right, the world.
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: Search it up means that Google is just one of
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: the choices, and as a rule, it doesn't really look
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: like it's one of the big choices. Like this new
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: Alpha generation is completely leaning on AI for all of
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: their information. Yeah.
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: I was thought they wouldn't, because it seems the generation
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: that hates it the most.
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: H Yeah, it's wild. That is the exact case. That's
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: all we hear about it from Generation Alpha is just
- 1:38:11Speaker 2: what you said. They want authenticity, but in the same
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: sense they're using AI to get their information.
- 1:38:15Speaker 6: There's a duality to it, right. There is the part
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: that benefits you personally when you use it for things
- 1:38:21Speaker 6: that make your life easier. And then there's the existential
- 1:38:25Speaker 6: threat of it not you know, really making you obsolete.
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: Yeah, terminator two kind of thing. Yeah, which is wild?
- 1:38:32Speaker 2: I mean, this is this the first full generation with
- 1:38:35Speaker 2: full access to AI. Where where does Gen Z stop?
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: The Gen Z is the one that's after millennials, right,
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: In other words, they did not have access to AI
- 1:38:44Speaker 2: their entire generation either, right, Gen alpha gen or Gen
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: alpha is the only generation that's been completely immersed in AI.
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: R Right. It's here that a recent New York Times
- 1:38:55Speaker 2: piece highlight of the generational divide, reporting that Alpha and
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: Gen Z increasingly say search it up, whereas older generations
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: may say google it. It says here, Google it tells
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: you where to go. Search it up tells you what
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: to do. So, in other words, it's just another step
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: to make life easier for them, because when you google it,
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: you find the answer, then you have to go search
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: that with search it up, you know, you're you punch
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: that in and it gives you all the information and
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: where to go to find more information, or it just
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: scrapes all the information on that particular topic and dumps
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: it into one readable document. It says, because for kids today,
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: there is no single where. Yeah, yeah, where's a bunch
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: of places. You know, there are so Claude, Pilot, Rock Rock,
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: I mean, they're like how many ais are out there
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: at GBT. There are one hundred of those things out there.
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: Now you just find the one that you like, the
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: one that I guess the interaction is the is the
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: easiest for you. I but think they're all about the same,
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: aren't they. Yeah? Yeah, I use the one. I use
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: Pilot just part of Google, and it works pretty darn well.
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: I used asks Jeeves, do you really shut up?
- 1:39:59Speaker 10: Jack?
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: You're such a mess? I used to ask that was
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: a good sight. I never used to ask Jeeves once
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: in my life. Well, I used to use it all
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: the time. I didn't know where it was. Was just
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: like at the early Google, wasn't it exactly? Basically?
- 1:40:10Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: Is it still around?
- 1:40:12Speaker 23: No?
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: No, I think je Jeeves. Do not ask Jeeves. He's
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: in a retirement ARY's it wants to give credit for
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: gen z oh witch.
- 1:40:25Speaker 3: Oh, this is crazy. You guys ask Jeeves officially shut down?
- 1:40:29Speaker 3: When do you believe this was the officially officially shut
- 1:40:33Speaker 3: down on this date?
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: Ask Jeeves? Got years ago? You with twenty You would
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: think it would be like literally twenty ten. Okay, you
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: said twenty twenty, and you said twenty ten. I'll say
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: twenty ten.
- 1:40:45Speaker 3: How about this May one, twenty twenty six?
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: Did you shut down this year?
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: Just shut down this year? After nearly thirty years of operation.
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: It was launched in nineteen ninety six in Berkeley, California.
- 1:40:56Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: Wow, could have asked Jeeves just months ago. That's crazy.
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: It so freshly retired. Is it one of those things
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: where the audience is still there and they're just dying
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: off the people who they only use Jeeves in the beginning,
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: and they're like, I'm not because I gotta tell you.
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: For me, I used Yahoo for years. It took me
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: a while switch over to Google, just because when I
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: went to Google's page, it was just a search engine.
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: Yahoo gave you all kinds of other stuff.
- 1:41:22Speaker 6: There is something that just ended. I just learned about
- 1:41:26Speaker 6: today like last night, and I'm like, I had no
- 1:41:30Speaker 6: idea that was still a thing.
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: And this was something I used a lot and it's
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: gone now. God, it's an internet service before pre internet,
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: pre internet, and it's gone.
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: Because I know they're thinking about bringing back MySpace. Yeah,
- 1:41:46Speaker 3: so pre internet.
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: Pre internet has to do with media, is it?
- 1:41:52Speaker 10: Like a is it?
- 1:41:53Speaker 4: Huh?
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: And you never used it?
- 1:41:56Speaker 10: I know I have.
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: I used to use it a lot. I used it
- 1:41:58Speaker 2: in the seventies. I use you use it in the seventies.
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: I used it in the nineties. Oh, it's gonna be
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: the is it the disc? Is it the keep going
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: on that disc recorder? No going? Is it the Encyclopedias
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: on disc Columbia House?
- 1:42:16Speaker 19: Right?
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: I just read about that bye bye after what nearly
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: seventy some years or something.
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: I didn't know it was still around. It was like
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: seventy one when they opened up or something. Wasn't it
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: was even earlier, was it really was? But you know
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: I did. I mean, I still have the cassette tapes
- 1:42:32Speaker 2: I got in the late Oh my uncle still has
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: the ruined credit and yeah, well, and that's a good thing, right,
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: ruin your credit.
- 1:42:38Speaker 6: That monster's talking about Angel I think you know used
- 1:42:41Speaker 6: to kind of play them. Yeah, Russ and I played
- 1:42:46Speaker 6: by the rules, you know. But I remember once a
- 1:42:50Speaker 6: month you'd get a CD unless you.
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: Eight track at first, wasn't it?
- 1:42:54Speaker 6: Well you could they had eight tracks they had, and
- 1:42:57Speaker 6: then they had albums. You get a cassette. I did
- 1:43:00Speaker 6: cassette tapes it first, and then they did see these
- 1:43:02Speaker 6: when ceds were a thing. But I remember when it
- 1:43:06Speaker 6: would come if you wrote return on it and put
- 1:43:09Speaker 6: it in your mailbox. If you didn't open it, they
- 1:43:11Speaker 6: would take it back, and then you didn't have to
- 1:43:12Speaker 6: buy any of charge.
- 1:43:13Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: You know what year they started Columbia House, Yes, late fifties. Well,
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: hold on, okay, so they did they do records first?
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: They had to have because I mean they didn't come
- 1:43:22Speaker 2: around until like the late early seventies or something. So
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: you said late fifties, Yeah, fifty six, I'd say fifty eight.
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: I'll go, I'll go sixty three.
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: Damn it, Jack, you should have stayed with fifty six.
- 1:43:34Speaker 3: It's nineteen fifty five. Damn really, you're seventy one years.
- 1:43:38Speaker 3: Just this week, Columbia House finally closes for good.
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: Well, that makes perfect sense though, because that's when that's
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: when music really became like popular, like you know, we
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: really I think the Elvis movement turned pop music and
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: you know into you know, pop rock music into a
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: into a thing. Right. I would think that Elvis had
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: a lot to do with that, right, I would think
- 1:43:57Speaker 2: so as well.
- 1:43:57Speaker 6: Yeah, fifty four to fifty five, Bill Hale, the Comics, Yeah,
- 1:44:01Speaker 6: Knocked around the Clocks.
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: Jan and Dean, all those great all those great Everly Brothers,
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: all those bands back in the day, that that would
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: have really popularized popular music. I bet it's probably synonymous
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: when Dick Clark started kind of counting it down. I
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: bet it's close to that.
- 1:44:12Speaker 5: Well.
- 1:44:12Speaker 3: I would also imagine too that once production may be made,
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: you know, having a record a little bit cheaper to have,
- 1:44:18Speaker 3: you know, because you talked about bone records the other day,
- 1:44:21Speaker 3: where kids who lived in communist Russia would press them.
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: Onto old X rays exactly, so the X ray, so
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: you get Western music into the into Russia exactly.
- 1:44:29Speaker 5: So.
- 1:44:29Speaker 3: I think it's that and I won't be surprised if
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: in the future this is something that we see gamers
- 1:44:34Speaker 3: kind of doing. Damn, you're kind of going old school,
- 1:44:37Speaker 3: because you know, with the gaming companies taking away the
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: ability to have physical games in your hands, I wouldn't
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: be surprised if the gaming community tried to figure.
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: Out a way to maybe do the record route. Yeah,
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: but trust me, if it's on an Amazon box, it's
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: not getting shipped. Like everything I get shipped is like
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: it's it's campaign stuff, it's celebrity cruises begging me to
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: come back. It's an occasional water bill. And that's pretty
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: much what I get in the mail. Everything else that
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: comes Amazon.
- 1:45:02Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a serious the weekly uh newspaper for the
- 1:45:07Speaker 6: store sales, yeah, flyer and all these.
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: I'll get some stuff for labor a week. But for
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: the most part, it's like, if you take one cruise,
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: I got horrible news for you. They're about to send
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: four thousand trees to your house every year. You recycle them. Mad, Yes, Jack,
- 1:45:23Speaker 2: That's all I do. We don't vote, he doesn't vote,
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: he doesn't Well, I don't.
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: Know if I don't know if Eustace has recycling. I
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: know Mount Dora does not.
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: Yeah, we do have recycling trash cans, but I don't
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: think we have the baskets we.
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: Have recycling trash cans, but we don't offer recycling services
- 1:45:39Speaker 3: because China stopped taking our crap right right, right, So
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: now it's the waste to energy.
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: What do you guys do with your yard waste? Do
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: you put that out? We take it to Seminal County
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: and put it in other people's yards. Out of a bitch,
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: that's where it's coming from. That's jack. That way can
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: come up cover up the weeds in people's yards that
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: don't take care of them. Yeah, could be a right
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: four seven nine six four one text us at seven

- 1:47:39Speaker 6: is one wrong. Yeah, I was gonna say, I don't
- 1:47:42Speaker 6: think he's right. Is not progressive? Is the ad campaign

- 1:49:55Speaker 2: All right? On this day. In two thousand and eight,
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: Lady Gaga released her dab album Fame Okay, here are
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: three fun facts about Lady Gaga and one meat dress
- 1:50:05Speaker 2: of a lie so gross it really was. All right,
- 1:50:08Speaker 2: we're talking about Lady Gaga here, Sam? Are you a fan?
- 1:50:11Speaker 10: By the way?
- 1:50:12Speaker 19: I do?
- 1:50:13Speaker 5: I love her?
- 1:50:13Speaker 4: All right?
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: Let's see which one of these is a lie? Number One.
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: In high school, her nickname was Rabbit because of her
- 1:50:18Speaker 2: two prominent front teeth. Number two, she went to a
- 1:50:22Speaker 2: Catholic school with Paris and Nicki Hilton. Number three. Most
- 1:50:26Speaker 2: of her tattoos are on the left side of her
- 1:50:28Speaker 2: body because she promised her dad she would keep half
- 1:50:31Speaker 2: her body normal. Or lastly or lastly, she started bleaching
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: her blonde hair because people started confusing her with Amy Winehouse.
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: Which of those is a lie?
- 1:50:43Speaker 5: What's number one?
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: That's the one? Unbelievable. Do you know what her high
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: school nickname was, I don't know it's called They called
- 1:50:55Speaker 2: her the Germ and the reason why because her full
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: name is Stephanie Angelina German Nadi Germanata. I'm going on
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: hold eurowinn spoiling everybody else? Is fun? Sam there you
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: Samantha one. Yeah, her high school nickname was Germ or
- 1:51:14Speaker 2: the Germ because of her last name. She did go
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: to Catholic school with Paris and Nicky Hilton.
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: Wow, imagine being the non slut there. Oh my goodness,
- 1:51:23Speaker 2: wait a minute, I mean Paris had a little fun.
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: Most of her tattoos are on the left side of
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: her body because she promised her dad she would keep
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: half her normal, and then as she did start bleaching
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: her hair because people thought she was Amy Winehouse. Actually
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: it was a reporter that asked her questions as Amy Winehouse.
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: Since that day she changed everything and started bleaked bonding
- 1:51:44Speaker 2: her hair because she's naturally a brunette.
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: I would imagine with the last name Germanada.
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: Yeah for sure. Yeah. Her stage name is derived from
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: the radio guy Guy that's sung by the Queen. That's
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: exactly it is. I thought it was from her days
- 1:52:01Speaker 2: as a go go dancer. She is the godmother of
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: a legendary singer songwriter's kids. Legendary. You can't get more
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: legendary than this. British singer songwriter Adele no El John
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: Nelton John is the answer points Jack. That's awesome, and
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: she was the how well, that's kind of hard. She
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: was the fifth woman to do this. God, that's so
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: hard as well. She was the fifth woman in history
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: to sell one million albums in one week. Damn. Britney Spears,
- 1:52:32Speaker 2: Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Maganna. I don't know, I don't know.
- 1:52:37Speaker 2: I'm not sure if it was but Donna or not,
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: those are the three I remember. Maybe Adele no I
- 1:52:43Speaker 2: don't think it was Aguilar. I think it was a
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: bigger deal than that. I think it was Adele Britney
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift was one of them, for sure.
- 1:52:49Speaker 2: Beyonce was one, and there's one other and I cannot
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: remember it. There you, Lady Gaga. Oh, Sam ruined it
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: for everybody.
- 1:52:55Speaker 6: She did not she did, which it's what you're supposed
- 1:52:59Speaker 6: to do. I know you don't like when the first
- 1:53:00Speaker 6: person wins, but that's their charge.
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: It's so funny you're saying that. And I looked at
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: my right and in all caps it says puzzle master failure.
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: So Jack, you can say all you want. These people
- 1:53:12Speaker 2: do not care for me. Well, Sam is happy. Sam
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: is very happy, for sure. All right, let's take little
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: break back in a second with Joel Warren. We'll find
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: out what's happening with good Sauce tonight.
- 1:53:26Speaker 18: Good after morning, Colbert carew that's a good one. Swillye
- 1:53:31Speaker 18: Staldy just like you know Staaldy, just like my truck
- 1:53:34Speaker 18: on five twenty four today and.
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: Then start again and now it's in the shop.
- 1:53:38Speaker 18: And yay, I get to drive my air conditionless work
- 1:53:42Speaker 18: truck home and for their for Seecle future. Who ray.
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: Kind of funny that you're talking about, Lady Gaga.
- 1:53:52Speaker 11: In the trivia and the price is Googoo doll tickets.
- 1:53:56Speaker 15: You know, they did a tour together.
- 1:53:57Speaker 2: They could call it the Googoo Got Got Tour exactly
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: pretty hard. You got her Goo Goo Gotta gott Googo funny,
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: good job, all right? Four seven nine one text us
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: seven and seven is zero three one. I'm jim N's dad. Hello,
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: Jack is here.
- 1:54:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: Every single Wednesday around eight o'clock or so, we play
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: a an episode of Good Sauce and of course Good
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: Sauce with Ross and Joel. Ross is working for the
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: Orlando City tonight, but half of the comedy duo that
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: will be presenting fourteen sketches of Mount Dora on the
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: twenty ninth of August is with us today for the
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: Legend Guys. Good loud, mister Joel Warren, Thank you, Thank you,
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: go back. You know something, dude, I learned something about
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: you yesterday that I did not know. I'm righth for night.
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: I did not know that you are a homeschooled traveling actor,
- 1:54:55Speaker 2: that you have been in the game of acting and
- 1:54:58Speaker 2: entertaining and performing for a very long time in your life.
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: I thought this was something that maybe just happened after
- 1:55:04Speaker 2: high school in college I didn't realize that you've been
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: doing this even as a child.
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: Yes, I kind of got into it right in the
- 1:55:13Speaker 5: freshman year of high school and then had to decide
- 1:55:17Speaker 5: sports or this.
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: So you and you basically decided to be homeschooled. So
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: you never went to high school, which means you never
- 1:55:25Speaker 2: went to a prolem No.
- 1:55:28Speaker 5: Well, this is a whole nother episode. But I did
- 1:55:33Speaker 5: go to a homeschool prom.
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: So it was you and your mom.
- 1:55:40Speaker 5: Oh no, no, she was busy. But they have these
- 1:55:48Speaker 5: like homeschool collectives, you know, to let the weirdos run
- 1:55:53Speaker 5: around together for a while and get some sort of
- 1:55:55Speaker 5: social activity. And they ranked it out like a apartment
- 1:56:00Speaker 5: complex clubhouse and got a terrible playlist. It wasn't even
- 1:56:06Speaker 5: a djuh and just said go for it. We never
- 1:56:11Speaker 5: told you what you're supposed to do here, but good luck.
- 1:56:14Speaker 5: And yeah, I actually forgot about that until right now.
- 1:56:17Speaker 5: So thanks, I'm gonna have a.
- 1:56:21Speaker 18: So.
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: And the reason why this real quick, and the reason
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: this came up as Russell's talking yesterday that you guys,
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: I guess are talking to that about Friday night Lights
- 1:56:29Speaker 2: and the and your experience with your sons now playing
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: high school football, and although you didn't get to really
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: experience any of that as being homeschooled, now you're getting
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: an experience twice. You're experiencing it as a dad and
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: you know, kind of kind of vicariously through your sons,
- 1:56:44Speaker 2: and then you're as you know, just as a parent
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: with high school kids.
- 1:56:50Speaker 5: A part of American pie. I've never experienced, and it
- 1:56:53Speaker 5: is awesome. I really just I couldn't believe it. You know,
- 1:56:56Speaker 5: the these immersive experiences are kind of a fab right now.
- 1:56:59Speaker 5: And then atainment. If you want a multi level immersive experience,
- 1:57:04Speaker 5: go to your local high school football game. Yeah, it's incredible.
- 1:57:08Speaker 5: There's so much going on.
- 1:57:10Speaker 2: You will never hear adults yell more profanities at other
- 1:57:13Speaker 2: adults than at a high school football game. Maybe a
- 1:57:17Speaker 2: girls softball or volleyball game maybe, but that would be
- 1:57:20Speaker 2: about it.
- 1:57:21Speaker 5: You will also hear children swearing in public for the
- 1:57:24Speaker 5: first time. They really let it fly. You really get
- 1:57:28Speaker 5: after uh oh yeah, and their voices crack in the middle.
- 1:57:32Speaker 5: I mean, it's theater that you can't write. I was
- 1:57:36Speaker 5: in awe last Friday, and yeah, I'm basically gonna go
- 1:57:40Speaker 5: to all these games now because I've never seen any
- 1:57:41Speaker 5: of this stuff before, but it's fascinating, it's really entertaining.
- 1:57:46Speaker 5: It was a nail biders forty eight to nothing.
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: What side were you on?
- 1:57:52Speaker 10: Oh?
- 1:57:52Speaker 5: Zero, baby?
- 1:57:56Speaker 2: Your son kicks. He didn't even get to kick.
- 1:58:00Speaker 5: Got the punt jack.
- 1:58:02Speaker 2: Yeah, he was exhausted. He was out there a lot.
- 1:58:06Speaker 5: That's great, sometimes barely double digit minutes between punts. It
- 1:58:10Speaker 5: was impressive.
- 1:58:11Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:58:12Speaker 12: And what what?
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: What school did you play for again? Or do you
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: mention that? Yeah, don't worry about that.
- 1:58:17Speaker 5: I'll give you the address if you want to know.
- 1:58:21Speaker 5: What's amazing though, and you'll like this. Jim for sure
- 1:58:25Speaker 5: is my son who's the kicker, had the longest rush
- 1:58:29Speaker 5: of the game. What because? Yeah, they I was watching,
- 1:58:35Speaker 5: you know, and all of a sudden I hear yelling
- 1:58:37Speaker 5: and I was like, oh, that's weird. I thought this
- 1:58:39Speaker 5: was a kicking play. And then they go first down
- 1:58:42Speaker 5: and he just ran. And I asked him later, I
- 1:58:46Speaker 5: was like, did they call that? He says no, And
- 1:58:48Speaker 5: I said, why did you decide to do that? Because
- 1:58:50Speaker 5: I didn't. I just looked up and ran and so
- 1:58:54Speaker 5: he ended up with like a twenty yard first down.
- 1:58:56Speaker 5: So now he's cool.
- 1:59:00Speaker 2: Was forty eight to nothing. That was probably the total
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: offense for the night was his run.
- 1:59:04Speaker 5: Like I said, he had the longest rush of the game.
- 1:59:07Speaker 2: That's insane. So is that what we're talking about tonight.
- 1:59:09Speaker 5: On Good Songs? We are we are actually leading with
- 1:59:13Speaker 5: the fact that our good buddy Ronado's listener went out
- 1:59:17Speaker 5: this week.
- 1:59:18Speaker 3: Oh Ronado's no a CEO for us.
- 1:59:22Speaker 5: Talk about a forty eight to nothing blowout. He has
- 1:59:25Speaker 5: just been taking this heat wave to the faith.
- 1:59:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, And it's so funny. We talk about this
- 1:59:30Speaker 2: all the time. Like when you open up any of
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: the local websites, whether it be channel two, six or
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: nine or whatever the first three were or the first
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: two words you see on the top is like weather advisory,
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: Like they lead with this heat and it's a giant
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: map of Florida just showing how blanking hot it feels
- 1:59:46Speaker 2: like everywhere around the state.
- 1:59:49Speaker 5: I know they're like, don't walk your dog, don't go
- 1:59:51Speaker 5: out of school, it's too hot, don't get anything. I
- 1:59:53Speaker 5: think that our poor buddy, he is his day job
- 1:59:56Speaker 5: is at a bar outside, so he's not even getting
- 1:59:59Speaker 5: oh my god, a a oh my sweating. I was like,
- 2:00:03Speaker 5: you were going to lose twenty pounds with this this
- 2:00:06Speaker 5: is your own GLP one.
- 2:00:09Speaker 2: Well, I've heard that, I've heard it so hot that
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: some high schools are doing practices at night like their kids. Yeah,
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: they're they're not allowing them to practice during the day
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: because it's too dangerous. Remember when you see I've had
- 2:00:21Speaker 2: a couple of people fall out of their practice.
- 2:00:24Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, it's really helped with the uh being the
- 2:00:28Speaker 5: first week of school and nobody like being motivated to
- 2:00:30Speaker 5: do anything that it's also a thousand degrees. Yeah, it's rough,
- 2:00:34Speaker 5: but look, this is you know, my kids weren't going
- 2:00:38Speaker 5: to high school before they got to get up at
- 2:00:39Speaker 5: like five thirty in the morning. Now too, so oh
- 2:00:42Speaker 5: it's it's brutal. What a what a wake up call
- 2:00:45Speaker 5: from the summer.
- 2:00:47Speaker 2: So they were also being homeschooled and now they're in school.
- 2:00:49Speaker 2: What what kind of that is a massive Like.
- 2:00:52Speaker 5: They no, ioul could never homeschool my kids. They're feral.
- 2:00:57Speaker 5: They went to a soccer academy for the last three years,
- 2:01:01Speaker 5: so they've they've been in school, but it was like
- 2:01:03Speaker 5: all soccer all the time, and little did I know
- 2:01:06Speaker 5: is preparing them for high school football.
- 2:01:09Speaker 2: Highchool football to be the kicker, Dad. Nothing wrong with
- 2:01:12Speaker 2: that though, I mean as a big time career there. Look,
- 2:01:16Speaker 2: this guy's are the most valuable guys in the league. Man,
- 2:01:18Speaker 2: you start watching NFL football towards the end of the season,
- 2:01:20Speaker 2: you see guys, you know, they can really kick. I
- 2:01:23Speaker 2: mean it's amazing. I think they just let it. What
- 2:01:25Speaker 2: didn't somebody just make it into the Hall of Fame
- 2:01:27Speaker 2: kicking here recently? Is that kid from the point they
- 2:01:29Speaker 2: got from the Patriots? Yeah, Adam Terry, Yeah, Ven Terry,
- 2:01:32Speaker 2: that's exactly he just got to end up from the
- 2:01:34Speaker 2: Hall of Fame kicking a football.
- 2:01:36Speaker 5: Yeah, it's incredible. I mean you missed too, and you
- 2:01:38Speaker 5: got to find a new job. Yeah, you keep going then, Yeah,
- 2:01:42Speaker 5: it's good. My like my oldest son, who's the starter now?
- 2:01:45Speaker 5: He uh, there's a five star recruit on their team,
- 2:01:50Speaker 5: and he was like, I might have scouts coming to
- 2:01:53Speaker 5: see him. That will see me and I might end
- 2:01:55Speaker 5: up having a better shot at a scholarship doing this
- 2:01:58Speaker 5: than even the fifteen years he's played soccer.
- 2:02:01Speaker 2: Look, man, if I had a kid that you know,
- 2:02:03Speaker 2: I mean, it wasn't really big or fast or anything
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: like that, and they could kick I mean, of course,
- 2:02:06Speaker 2: if you're a soccer player, you know how to kick
- 2:02:07Speaker 2: that football?
- 2:02:08Speaker 18: Me?
- 2:02:08Speaker 2: Can he can? He make them for a pretty good?
- 2:02:10Speaker 2: Can he make a forty yarder?
- 2:02:12Speaker 5: Oh? Yeah, that's how he got the starting job, as
- 2:02:15Speaker 5: he just came in and said he'd like kick against
- 2:02:18Speaker 5: anybody after practice, and then he hit one from like
- 2:02:21Speaker 5: fifty five and then the other kid quit and that
- 2:02:25Speaker 5: was it.
- 2:02:26Speaker 2: Yeah, fifty five yards is no joke, dude.
- 2:02:28Speaker 5: Well, and he didn't know he could kick that either.
- 2:02:30Speaker 5: I was like, you can kick that far? He was like,
- 2:02:32Speaker 5: I know, I just kind of just seeing what I
- 2:02:33Speaker 5: could do.
- 2:02:35Speaker 2: Damn, you are pissing so many people off right now
- 2:02:38Speaker 2: who like dedicated their entire lives of kicking footballs and
- 2:02:41Speaker 2: they can they can maybe make a forty five yarder.
- 2:02:44Speaker 5: Well, dude, this is America, and that's why if I
- 2:02:46Speaker 5: don't care, you know.
- 2:02:47Speaker 6: That's Hey, that's their fault. They should have dedicated their
- 2:02:50Speaker 6: lives to soccer. Yeah, they could be the kicker.
- 2:02:52Speaker 4: Wow.
- 2:02:53Speaker 5: Man could have just done like me and dedicated to
- 2:02:55Speaker 5: improv comedy. So there's lots of.
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: Things you could do, right, So when's the next game
- 2:03:00Speaker 2: coming up this Friday?
- 2:03:01Speaker 5: Or do is he oh yeah, oh yeah, they they
- 2:03:04Speaker 5: out looked not good. They did not walk into a
- 2:03:06Speaker 5: program that was flourishing points or record wise.
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: But keep in mind they lost forty eight to nothing.
- 2:03:14Speaker 6: Right, yeah, his son, his son can kick a field
- 2:03:18Speaker 6: goal from mid point on the field.
- 2:03:20Speaker 2: They never got that close.
- 2:03:23Speaker 5: No, not really in field goal range, which is the
- 2:03:25Speaker 5: other half of the field.
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: Damn it. They never got past midfield. That's crazy. Hey,
- 2:03:33Speaker 2: so was? That was the team they lost to supposed
- 2:03:36Speaker 2: to be a really good team.
- 2:03:38Speaker 5: They were like, way in a higher However, to divide
- 2:03:43Speaker 5: it up, they were this was a preseason game and
- 2:03:45Speaker 5: they needed like a feel good donk right before they Yeah,
- 2:03:49Speaker 5: they're like and honestly, our team knew that, and they
- 2:03:52Speaker 5: were like, well, let's see where we're at. Let's run
- 2:03:54Speaker 5: some plays, let's see you who can do what, and
- 2:03:55Speaker 5: we won't really worry about the score so much. Good
- 2:03:58Speaker 5: thing too, because I tell you how.
- 2:04:00Speaker 2: So is the kids is the school? The kids? Your
- 2:04:02Speaker 2: kids go to? Like A four, A five, a six,
- 2:04:05Speaker 2: A what what size do you know?
- 2:04:07Speaker 5: I'd love to tell you, but I didn't even know
- 2:04:09Speaker 5: the school existed until like four weeks ago.
- 2:04:11Speaker 2: Dude, you are the greatest I've never been I've never
- 2:04:14Speaker 2: heard somebody so clueless, so happy, dude.
- 2:04:17Speaker 5: Everyone thinks I'm a stepdad and I'm not even all
- 2:04:21Speaker 5: right but even real, real flip flop step dad energy
- 2:04:25Speaker 5: of these games. But I'm there and that's what counts. Well.
- 2:04:28Speaker 5: We talked about that, and we also touch on tonight
- 2:04:31Speaker 5: on good Slots, the best and worst bite of fast food.
- 2:04:36Speaker 2: Oh, the worst and best bite of fast food.
- 2:04:41Speaker 5: Yeah, wow, dynamic conversation. And then I will say Ronado
- 2:04:46Speaker 5: has the best answers. Once again, He's the only one

- 2:05:53Speaker 24: Easy.
- 2:05:53Speaker 2: Start shopping at your Bravo or.
- 2:05:55Speaker 21: Your fancy the Julia Markets cheapest food is I have
- 2:06:00Speaker 21: a butcher on site. He's Public's for bogos to seek
- 2:06:03Speaker 21: out the wind Dixi's when you can.
- 2:06:05Speaker 5: That's it Illo.
- 2:06:07Speaker 2: Hello, I'm with you on key Foods and Bravo though,
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: That's that's a win.
- 2:06:11Speaker 4: The thing I hate most in grocery stores is that
- 2:06:12Speaker 4: one person who says, hey, I just have one item.
- 2:06:14Speaker 4: I is it cool if I jump in front of you?
- 2:06:16Speaker 5: No?
- 2:06:17Speaker 4: A hole. Actually, it's not cool. We learned how lines
- 2:06:20Speaker 4: work in kindergarten. I got here first, so I cordially
- 2:06:22Speaker 4: invite you to go f yourself now before you think
- 2:06:24Speaker 4: I'm a classless bore when I'm the person with one
- 2:06:26Speaker 4: item in line and the person in front of me says, hey,
- 2:06:28Speaker 4: you can jump ahead if you want. Every time I
- 2:06:30Speaker 4: look them in the eye and I say thanks, but
- 2:06:32Speaker 4: no thanks. I don't believe in that you got there first.
- 2:06:35Speaker 4: And I smile and they give me a look like
- 2:06:37Speaker 4: I just clubbed a seal.
- 2:06:42Speaker 2: Heat grew. What's upon?
- 2:06:43Speaker 10: Hey, Jimmy, I found those shopping carts are talking about.
- 2:06:46Speaker 10: I said, Jack some photos. I completely remember those now,
- 2:06:50Speaker 10: the front folded up for storing when you put them
- 2:06:53Speaker 10: in the rack, and then that front end would lift
- 2:06:56Speaker 10: and open down to unload. When Dixie lion A p
- 2:07:01Speaker 10: they all had him back in the day.
- 2:07:02Speaker 2: But I sent Jack some photos to just a blast.
- 2:07:06Speaker 10: On the past.
- 2:07:06Speaker 2: There you go, buddy, Thanks, I gotta say, rest of peace.
- 2:07:09Speaker 7: Frank Weird.
- 2:07:11Speaker 5: When they asked the rest of the band how we died,
- 2:07:14Speaker 5: they all said, oh, howww.
- 2:07:21Speaker 2: All right, welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. We're
- 2:07:23Speaker 2: already one. Oh, four point one. I'm Jim Devin Jack
- 2:07:26Speaker 2: are here as well, and by the rest of the band.
- 2:07:27Speaker 2: I guess he meant Billy Gibbons. Billy Gibbons, that's the
- 2:07:29Speaker 2: only one. I don't know that he's gonna tour anymore.
- 2:07:33Speaker 2: I mean, I I well, we interviewed him a year ago.
- 2:07:37Speaker 2: It was great. That was a fun interview. Yeah, he
- 2:07:40Speaker 2: was great. Had Dusty Hill died, Yes, when he passed away, Yes,
- 2:07:45Speaker 2: they were It was only the two of them at that. Yeah,
- 2:07:47Speaker 2: because they hired it, because you're one hundred percent right,
- 2:07:49Speaker 2: because the bass tech started playing bass for them. And
- 2:07:52Speaker 2: if you'll remember, he's kind of a wild guy. He
- 2:07:55Speaker 2: would have these bases that were like fifteen string basses,
- 2:07:58Speaker 2: and he would wear these hats, had like mohawk whigs
- 2:08:01Speaker 2: and stuff. Oh damn, it's kind of silly. But yeah,
- 2:08:05Speaker 2: so I guess it's just Billy Gibbons now. I mean,
- 2:08:08Speaker 2: he was the talent the band to begin with. I'm
- 2:08:09Speaker 2: not trying to dog on anybody who's whatever, but I mean,
- 2:08:11Speaker 2: people want to see Billy Gibbons play guitar. That's really
- 2:08:13Speaker 2: what it was, right. I think he was one of
- 2:08:15Speaker 2: Jimmy Hendrick's favorite players. Also Christopher Cross. Yeah, he was
- 2:08:20Speaker 2: another He was a Texas guy. And you know which
- 2:08:22Speaker 2: is which is crazy? What does that air?
- 2:08:24Speaker 6: By the way, I have to edit it probably in
- 2:08:27Speaker 6: two weeks every week from Sunday, I'm thinking.
- 2:08:29Speaker 2: Yeah, Jack did the big interview with Christopher Cross. For
- 2:08:31Speaker 2: you guys who do not know who that is, he
- 2:08:33Speaker 2: was the like literally the the captain of yacht rock.
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: One of the biggest albums of the early eighties and
- 2:08:40Speaker 2: actually one of the biggest albums ever actually for a
- 2:08:43Speaker 2: debut album, maybe one of the biggest debut albums of
- 2:08:45Speaker 2: all time. Are there three number ones on that record?
- 2:08:47Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 2:08:47Speaker 6: He and Billie Eilish have tied the record for most Grammys.
- 2:08:52Speaker 6: Want to win Best New Artists, then win Record of
- 2:08:55Speaker 6: the Year, Song of the Year, right, you know all
- 2:08:57Speaker 6: of that. So yeah, the album came out in December
- 2:09:02Speaker 6: twenty seven, nineteen seventy nine. So at nineteen eighty one
- 2:09:05Speaker 6: was the Grammys where he just he took home all
- 2:09:08Speaker 6: the awards and Barbara streisand still pissed at him.
- 2:09:11Speaker 2: Yeah, right, are you going? Is it going to be
- 2:09:13Speaker 2: where you run the interview through the show and then
- 2:09:16Speaker 2: play his music as the music and are you doing
- 2:09:18Speaker 2: that or what are you just?
- 2:09:19Speaker 5: Yes?
- 2:09:19Speaker 2: How long is the interview?
- 2:09:20Speaker 6: So I talked to him for about about an hour. Okay,
- 2:09:22Speaker 6: so I will I'll post that online, but I am
- 2:09:25Speaker 6: going to take clips of that and then create the
- 2:09:29Speaker 6: yacht Rock Captain Zog Radio where we play the songs
- 2:09:33Speaker 6: that he's referring to. So I get a story about
- 2:09:36Speaker 6: a few of the songs, and then we'll play those
- 2:09:38Speaker 6: songs and you know, he'll be the one talking about
- 2:09:41Speaker 6: the music.
- 2:09:42Speaker 2: Very cool, dude, that's awesome. So well, you'll have to
- 2:09:44Speaker 2: announce when you do that. Yeah, he'll definitely want to
- 2:09:46Speaker 2: hear that interview. He was very gracious with this time,
- 2:09:49Speaker 2: very nice guy. I got to meet him twice now,
- 2:09:51Speaker 2: but yeah, yeah, he is like budget, we're tight, going
- 2:09:54Speaker 2: camping tight. I got a cell phone number, he said,
- 2:09:57Speaker 2: don't give it to anybody.
- 2:09:58Speaker 3: Well, that's because you're a SpaceX A shareholder.
- 2:10:01Speaker 18: No.
- 2:10:01Speaker 3: Speaking about Jimmy Hendrix. I saw this earlier today. You
- 2:10:04Speaker 3: guys see, there's a new documentary. It made it streaming
- 2:10:08Speaker 3: debut last night on YouTube. It's called Jimmy Hendricks Live
- 2:10:11Speaker 3: at Woodstock A second look.
- 2:10:13Speaker 2: This is what's so cool about it?
- 2:10:14Speaker 5: So.
- 2:10:15Speaker 3: It features black and white footage recorded on videotape by
- 2:10:18Speaker 3: a twenty two year old Bard College student named Elbert Goodman. So,
- 2:10:23Speaker 3: according to the YouTube description, Goodman snuck his camera on
- 2:10:27Speaker 3: stage and set it up about fifteen feet away.
- 2:10:30Speaker 2: From where Hendricks would perform. Wow really So.
- 2:10:34Speaker 3: The film features performances of Purple Hayes, Voodoo child Slight Return,
- 2:10:38Speaker 3: and the Star Spangled Banner.
- 2:10:39Speaker 15: Wow.
- 2:10:41Speaker 2: The star Spangled banner that he did that got so
- 2:10:43Speaker 2: much attention. That wasnt Monterie Pop. That wasn't at Woodstock,
- 2:10:46Speaker 2: was it? Or was that at Woodstock? I believe it
- 2:10:48Speaker 2: was at Woodstock. Or he did the sound effects with
- 2:10:50Speaker 2: his guitar exactly. I just watched the replay that the
- 2:10:53Speaker 2: other day because it just popped up on my feed
- 2:10:55Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, I haven't seen this or
- 2:10:57Speaker 2: heard this one a while. I'll listen to it.
- 2:10:58Speaker 12: It is.
- 2:10:59Speaker 2: It's so brilliant. It is so good and raw. Yeah,
- 2:11:03Speaker 2: and you watch him and there's this great pride. So
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: he was in the army. There's this great pride of
- 2:11:09Speaker 2: him in him when he's playing it, and it looks
- 2:11:12Speaker 2: like he was zero effort right there. Jack's got it
- 2:11:15Speaker 2: on YouTube zero effort. Dude is probably blanked on hair
- 2:11:18Speaker 2: when the entire time, I.
- 2:11:19Speaker 3: Mean, wasn't Jefferson Starship, weren't they just like, oh yeah,
- 2:11:24Speaker 3: they were off the rockers on acid. Well, don't eat
- 2:11:29Speaker 3: the sandwich with the brown But I mean, yeah, this
- 2:11:33Speaker 3: imagine not knowing at twenty two years old that that
- 2:11:37Speaker 3: little concert film actually captured one of the greatest musicians
- 2:11:41Speaker 3: of all time.
- 2:11:42Speaker 2: Yeah, the guy is a complete monster, still still considered
- 2:11:45Speaker 2: by many of the great guitar players, the greatest that
- 2:11:46Speaker 2: ever was. And when you watch him play, it's so bizarre.
- 2:11:50Speaker 2: And then when you learn that he played with the
- 2:11:51Speaker 2: guitar upside down and did not restring it. In other words,
- 2:11:54Speaker 2: the bass e string was on the bottom, that is
- 2:11:56Speaker 2: I mean, you just can't even you can't even fat
- 2:12:00Speaker 2: them what it must have been like to learn the
- 2:12:02Speaker 2: instrument like that. I mean, it's just crazy. It's just
- 2:12:07Speaker 2: I don't know another player that does that. The only
- 2:12:09Speaker 2: other more impressive thing I've seen is like the blind
- 2:12:12Speaker 2: guy that played the lap who played it like a
- 2:12:13Speaker 2: lap steel. Oh yeah, it was a roadhouse. Who's that guy?
- 2:12:17Speaker 5: Oh?
- 2:12:17Speaker 6: I never saw the movie. I don't know, never saw
- 2:12:20Speaker 6: a roadhouse buddy, I didn't kind of look dumb to me. Sorry,
- 2:12:24Speaker 6: Oh no, no, no, no, let me let me.
- 2:12:25Speaker 2: Help you out. Oh it's dumb. It's one of the
- 2:12:29Speaker 2: dumbest movies with the dumbest lines you ever hear Pain
- 2:12:32Speaker 2: Don't Hurt in this movie. Yeah, yeah, Patrick Swayzey says,
- 2:12:37Speaker 2: Pain Don't Hurt. It is the dumbest blanking movie you'll
- 2:12:41Speaker 2: ever see, and it's still a must. You have to
- 2:12:45Speaker 2: see it, so well, I'll put it on my list.
- 2:12:49Speaker 2: It makes no sense for me to say that to you,
- 2:12:51Speaker 2: but it is such a part of Americana it makes
- 2:12:53Speaker 2: as much sense as pain Don't Hurt exactly. Real quick
- 2:12:56Speaker 2: back to Christopher Cross.
- 2:12:57Speaker 6: He went to he saw Jimi Hendrix live, uh you know,
- 2:13:01Speaker 6: in concert, and he was out there and he said,
- 2:13:03Speaker 6: Jimmy Hendrix used to play next to he'd all his
- 2:13:06Speaker 6: amps were set up and it was right behind the
- 2:13:08Speaker 6: curtain and he would come out and he would start
- 2:13:10Speaker 6: playing it. He said, you could see the curtains would
- 2:13:13Speaker 6: just like move forward from the air.
- 2:13:16Speaker 2: Really, he was famous for playing I think it was
- 2:13:20Speaker 2: Marshall super well know the Marshall PLEXI back in the day.
- 2:13:24Speaker 2: And if you look at him. They have four they
- 2:13:26Speaker 2: have four inputs, and you would they learn how to
- 2:13:29Speaker 2: cross across those inputs so we could get that kind
- 2:13:32Speaker 2: of that a little bit of distortion, because I think
- 2:13:34Speaker 2: this was pre distortion, because distortion started with Pete Townsend.
- 2:13:38Speaker 2: I believe that he the who He would cut right,
- 2:13:40Speaker 2: He would actually cut the cones of the speakers to
- 2:13:43Speaker 2: make them go like that, And that was the that
- 2:13:46Speaker 2: was distortion before they created like digital overdriver, my digital
- 2:13:49Speaker 2: analog overdrive to make the amplifier go more than it should.
- 2:13:55Speaker 6: Man, Yeah, super cool stuff. You know what's interesting about this?
- 2:13:58Speaker 6: Jimmy Hendrix Live. Would stock a second look. Well, it
- 2:14:02Speaker 6: says the end of show, but did it say that
- 2:14:05Speaker 6: it had the name of the person. But this is
- 2:14:07Speaker 6: posted by not to Kill. This person only has nine
- 2:14:10Speaker 6: hundred and thirty eight the subscriber's not even the thousands
- 2:14:14Speaker 6: who made the movie.
- 2:14:15Speaker 3: Yeah, this is the name of the movie. Is Jimmy
- 2:14:17Speaker 3: Hendrix Live. It would stock a second look. And apparently
- 2:14:21Speaker 3: it debuted last night on YouTube. But I don't have
- 2:14:23Speaker 3: any other sounds.
- 2:14:24Speaker 2: Like it sounds like they just found the footage and
- 2:14:26Speaker 2: said this needs to be a movie or and I
- 2:14:28Speaker 2: think this person might have taken that in his reposting kids.
- 2:14:31Speaker 2: Yeah that's a good way. Yeah, yeah, that's kind of cool.
- 2:14:34Speaker 2: I'll check that out. I mean Hendricks was I used
- 2:14:36Speaker 2: to listen to Hendricks a lot and then it kind
- 2:14:38Speaker 2: of got burned out on it. Somebody.
- 2:14:40Speaker 3: A lot of people are actually texting Jeff Heally.
- 2:14:42Speaker 2: Yeah, Jeff Eely. I think that's Jeff Heally. Yeah. Oh
- 2:14:46Speaker 2: the blind Yeah, the blind guy. And he would lay
- 2:14:48Speaker 2: the guitar on his lap and then just put his
- 2:14:51Speaker 2: fingers on top of it like that, not the standard
- 2:14:52Speaker 2: holding it into it. Oh wow, and it is way harder.
- 2:14:55Speaker 2: And that guy murdered it. I mean that he's actually
- 2:14:57Speaker 2: one of the best parts of the movie. He's playing
- 2:15:01Speaker 2: mind a screen in like a you know, really dangerous
- 2:15:03Speaker 2: honky tonk. They're trying to and exact they got chain
- 2:15:05Speaker 2: link up there. Somebody throws stuff at the band. Well,
- 2:15:08Speaker 2: you know, pain don't hurt. Yeah, pain don't hurt for sure,
- 2:15:10Speaker 2: all right? U foura seven ninete six four one textas
- 2:15:13Speaker 2: seven seven zero three one. By the way, we are
- 2:15:15Speaker 2: on one when it comes to parents in Florida, would
- 2:15:18Speaker 2: you guys agree? Oh what we do now? Florida women
- 2:15:22Speaker 2: have really stepped it up lately. It was the Florida
- 2:15:25Speaker 2: man for a while, but man, Florida women have really
- 2:15:28Speaker 2: really started to kind of feel themselves a bit. A
- 2:15:32Speaker 2: Florida mother is facing charges after police said that she
- 2:15:38Speaker 2: left her six year old son by himself at a
- 2:15:41Speaker 2: public park for roughly an hour after dark so she
- 2:15:45Speaker 2: could go to a restaurant with her friend. The kid
- 2:15:49Speaker 2: was so scared when a person came up that they
- 2:15:52Speaker 2: didn't want to know. The stranger came up and said, hey,
- 2:15:54Speaker 2: you and the kid didn't want out. He goes, I
- 2:15:56Speaker 2: don't know. I'm scared, but I'm not supposed to talk
- 2:15:58Speaker 2: to strangers. But I don't know where my mom. Wow.
- 2:16:03Speaker 2: Elena Sexton, forty years old. Forty one years old Texas native,
- 2:16:06Speaker 2: was arrested on Saturday, August fifteenth, in charge with child
- 2:16:09Speaker 2: neglect with no great bodily harm, offers officers with the
- 2:16:13Speaker 2: Sunny Isle Beach Police Department. Where is Sunny Isles Guy?
- 2:16:16Speaker 2: Oh wow, Sonny Isle's Beach, Florida. Thanks you, I appreciate that.
- 2:16:21Speaker 2: South Florida. They were called to. They were called to
- 2:16:23Speaker 2: Town Center Park around nine pm after a bystander seeing
- 2:16:29Speaker 2: a child with no adult nearby approached and said the
- 2:16:33Speaker 2: boy said he was alone and scared because his mom
- 2:16:37Speaker 2: had left him. Witnesses told the officer he believed the
- 2:16:40Speaker 2: boy had been by himself for at least an hour.
- 2:16:42Speaker 2: According to the Affidavid, the boy said he'd not eaten
- 2:16:44Speaker 2: since breakfast and told his mother told him the police's
- 2:16:47Speaker 2: mother left him to go go with a friend to
- 2:16:49Speaker 2: get food, but he was scared and didn't want to
- 2:16:53Speaker 2: leave the park with a stranger. They searched the area,
- 2:16:57Speaker 2: could not find her. She eventually returned to the park
- 2:16:59Speaker 2: where all officers were waiting. They took her into custody.
- 2:17:03Speaker 2: Said she'd gone back to her car to get toys
- 2:17:05Speaker 2: when she ran into a friend and invited her to
- 2:17:06Speaker 2: get food. She said then she partook while leaving her
- 2:17:12Speaker 2: son at the park. They didn't say exactly how long
- 2:17:16Speaker 2: the boy was there. FDL long for a Department of
- 2:17:20Speaker 2: Children and Families all the rest. She was booked into
- 2:17:24Speaker 2: the Turner Guildford Night Correctional Center. After arrest, she pleaded
- 2:17:27Speaker 2: not guilty and bonded out for twenty five hundred dollars. Yeah,
- 2:17:32Speaker 2: it says Miami Dade, Miami Day there, but you need
- 2:17:35Speaker 2: a license to drive.
- 2:17:36Speaker 5: Yeah, look at that.
- 2:17:38Speaker 2: You got her mug shot up there? Oh yeah, right there?
- 2:17:40Speaker 3: Oh yeah, doesn't she look remorseful? Oh yeah, yeah, what
- 2:17:44Speaker 3: I didn't win mom of the Year. Well, hey, listen,
- 2:17:49Speaker 3: just be happy that you're not on a cruise ship
- 2:17:53Speaker 3: that had pulled into Brevard County on Saturday, where a
- 2:17:55Speaker 3: couple were arrested. What happened after busting into the room
- 2:17:59Speaker 3: the crew's cabin of a couple and their nine year
- 2:18:02Speaker 3: old child after they had asked this couple to quiet
- 2:18:05Speaker 3: down drinking heavily arguing in their cabin. One of the
- 2:18:10Speaker 3: victims says, hey, can you guys quite? I'm sure they
- 2:18:12Speaker 3: were using profanity and they have a nine year old.
- 2:18:15Speaker 2: Ye what do they do?
- 2:18:16Speaker 3: He busts into the cabin and encourages his girlfriend as
- 2:18:20Speaker 3: he's recording, to start throwing punches at the family. All
- 2:18:23Speaker 3: three of them got hit, including the nine year old.
- 2:18:26Speaker 3: Oh my god, now he suffered an eye injury. But
- 2:18:29Speaker 3: they can't say whether it was his girlfriend that punched
- 2:18:31Speaker 3: him in the face, because they said he was just
- 2:18:34Speaker 3: throwing fists, just he wanted to hit something, anything, dude,
- 2:18:37Speaker 3: And you know, cruse cabins are not the biggest things
- 2:18:39Speaker 3: in the world.
- 2:18:39Speaker 2: Oh no, no, you can hit a wall swinging in
- 2:18:41Speaker 2: those things. I could literally stretch my arms across the room.
- 2:18:43Speaker 2: Yeah shit, a minute, draw this out for me. There's
- 2:18:47Speaker 2: a family and a child in one room. Yep. And
- 2:18:51Speaker 2: then it was a drunk person and his girlfriend who
- 2:18:54Speaker 2: break in?
- 2:18:55Speaker 3: Who brought who? Yeah, they forged the door, but they
- 2:18:58Speaker 3: force their way into the cabin. After this family had said, hey,
- 2:19:01Speaker 3: can you quiet it down, this couple.
- 2:19:03Speaker 2: Was, yeah, you're not gonna tell us the exactly well,
- 2:19:06Speaker 2: obviously drinking and fighting.
- 2:19:08Speaker 3: Right, they were blottle out of their minds streaming at
- 2:19:10Speaker 3: each other in their cabin. So when this this family,
- 2:19:13Speaker 3: one member of the parents says hey, can you quiet
- 2:19:15Speaker 3: it down? They decided to take matters into their own hands,
- 2:19:19Speaker 3: force their way into the cabin, beat up all three
- 2:19:21Speaker 3: of them. Now, thankfully nobody suffered any really bad injuries,
- 2:19:24Speaker 3: but they still had a nine year old child.
- 2:19:26Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 2:19:27Speaker 3: And Sheriff Wayne Ivy is like, if you can't handle
- 2:19:29Speaker 3: your liquor keep your butt out of Bravar County.
- 2:19:31Speaker 2: Let me tell you something and listen as a frequent bruiser,
- 2:19:34Speaker 2: let me let me tell you straight up as a
- 2:19:36Speaker 2: frequent cruiser. Cruise drunk is a different kind of drunk.
- 2:19:40Speaker 10: It is.
- 2:19:40Speaker 2: That's a different drunk. It really is. I don't know
- 2:19:43Speaker 2: what you mean. It's I can't explain it. It's just different.
- 2:19:47Speaker 2: Because here's the thing, the salt air. Yeah. Well, and
- 2:19:49Speaker 2: you have people to believe this, right, I'm an interactional waters.
- 2:19:52Speaker 2: I can do whatever I won't. I'm on the drink package.
- 2:19:56Speaker 2: I can do whatever I want. I'm getting my money's worth.
- 2:19:59Speaker 2: I can do whatever I won't all day, no responsibility zero.
- 2:20:03Speaker 5: Oh yeah.
- 2:20:03Speaker 2: So all those factors combined, they've changed with the self there,
- 2:20:07Speaker 2: they've changed that. Even even with the drink package on
- 2:20:11Speaker 2: some cruise drink is it just carnival? I think they
- 2:20:14Speaker 2: started doing this. Did they limit you to fourteen or
- 2:20:17Speaker 2: fifteen drinks? So if you if you even if you
- 2:20:19Speaker 2: have the drink package, no, no, no per day. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 2:20:24Speaker 2: they're really washing it out for everybody else.
- 2:20:26Speaker 6: Well, if you remember fourteen drinks, they gad, it's pretty
- 2:20:29Speaker 6: petty for it.
- 2:20:30Speaker 2: We started seven in the morning with the mimosa with breakfast.
- 2:20:32Speaker 2: They're like, hey, we've primed up, let's go.
- 2:20:34Speaker 5: Well.
- 2:20:34Speaker 3: I mean, there have been a couple of lawsuits filed
- 2:20:36Speaker 3: against cruise ship companies for saying you overserved, and this
- 2:20:40Speaker 3: person ended up dying, you know, because you know they
- 2:20:43Speaker 3: drank twenty eight shots before they even got to their
- 2:20:45Speaker 3: cabin in the morning. I wouldn't be surprised. There were
- 2:20:48Speaker 3: four cruise ships that were pulling into Port Canaveral on Saturday,
- 2:20:51Speaker 3: So the article that I read didn't identify which ship that.
- 2:20:54Speaker 2: It was on before was a Carnival. Yeah, I just
- 2:20:56Speaker 2: saying that's the party show. Carnimals having a really odd
- 2:20:58Speaker 2: time right now, I'm gonna tell you.
- 2:21:02Speaker 7: But I went.
- 2:21:03Speaker 2: I don't know what's happened to Carnival, but I went
- 2:21:05Speaker 2: to an island. On one of my shows, we do
- 2:21:07Speaker 2: the celebrity cruise thing because we like it, right, So
- 2:21:09Speaker 2: we went to one of these crews and we get
- 2:21:10Speaker 2: off and we're walking towards there's this giant sign when
- 2:21:13Speaker 2: you're walking to the into the you know, the port
- 2:21:15Speaker 2: of call, and the giant sign said Carnival cruisers don't
- 2:21:20Speaker 2: do anything dumb. But it didn't. It really said you
- 2:21:23Speaker 2: can't drink, you don't bring drug, don't do any of
- 2:21:25Speaker 2: this stuff. No other cruise line there are four others,
- 2:21:28Speaker 2: but they called they carved Carnival out like immediately, like
- 2:21:32Speaker 2: you can't do any of this stuff.
- 2:21:33Speaker 6: I saw this on one of my stops too, on
- 2:21:35Speaker 6: my last cruise, and I believe it's a result of
- 2:21:38Speaker 6: them being sued over something. Yeah, and they were sued
- 2:21:41Speaker 6: because they did. I think we talked to Ray about
- 2:21:43Speaker 6: it as well. They their liability was they didn't inform
- 2:21:48Speaker 6: the people enough so or they didn't post enough warnings.
- 2:21:51Speaker 6: So I think that those warnings are a result of
- 2:21:55Speaker 6: a previous lawsuit.
- 2:21:56Speaker 2: Man embarrassing. I'm trying to think about what it was.
- 2:22:00Speaker 2: What the sign said. Do you remember exactly, Jacks. I
- 2:22:02Speaker 2: do not, but there was something that they told them,
- 2:22:04Speaker 2: like you can't do this, don't do this while you're here.
- 2:22:09Speaker 2: And I kind of laughed my asshof because like they're
- 2:22:10Speaker 2: I'm like, well, royals here, emrgins here, celebrities here. I
- 2:22:14Speaker 2: don't see any signs of those guys cardinals like floating
- 2:22:20Speaker 2: Martyr might have been. Grant came in. I don't know.
- 2:22:22Speaker 2: I just remember getting off. I'm like, oh, look at that. Yeah,
- 2:22:26Speaker 2: I guess that doesn't apply to I remember that story
- 2:22:29Speaker 2: we were talking about with the being a reserved and
- 2:22:30Speaker 2: I have to tell you I kind of agreed with
- 2:22:32Speaker 2: them because, like we said before, like the person who
- 2:22:36Speaker 2: is making your drink has a record of how much
- 2:22:38Speaker 2: you've consumed. When you when your account comes up and
- 2:22:41Speaker 2: you swipe that little card, it tells everything about you.
- 2:22:44Speaker 2: It tells you what level you are, It tells what
- 2:22:46Speaker 2: room you're on, what deck you're on, how many times
- 2:22:49Speaker 2: you've cruised, what you've purchased. Even outside of alcohol, it'll
- 2:22:53Speaker 2: tell you like your spat purchases, all that stuff. Every
- 2:22:56Speaker 2: time they swipe that card, that stuff comes up on
- 2:22:57Speaker 2: that computer screen. They know everything you've done. No love maker,
- 2:23:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:23:02Speaker 3: I've only been on one, so they're they're gonna be
- 2:23:05Speaker 3: like nothing for you.
- 2:23:06Speaker 2: You were the annoysing lovemaker. Yeah, easy, Jack, I don't mind.
- 2:23:12Speaker 2: You have to play it out. Those are birds. It's
- 2:23:14Speaker 2: way deeper than that. All right, Oh my god, Jack's
- 2:23:18Speaker 2: silver back. She's not alignment. Oh I mean all right,
- 2:23:24Speaker 2: what do you have for your to hear? First? Well?
- 2:23:25Speaker 3: A South Florida friend's trip to Kenya ends in tragedy.
- 2:23:29Speaker 3: The Orange County Sheriff's Office concludes its investigation in the
- 2:23:33Speaker 3: sloth world deaths. I kind of don't agree with that one.
- 2:23:36Speaker 3: And an interesting offer. One army unit is making two
- 2:23:40Speaker 3: members who re enlist. It's a whole new world, guys.
- 2:23:45Speaker 3: We'll talk about that next during you.
- 2:23:47Speaker 2: Heard it here. First, does it take us to a
- 2:23:49Speaker 2: carnival cr No, but.
- 2:23:51Speaker 3: It should be because at least then they'd get showers
- 2:23:53Speaker 3: and food.
- 2:23:54Speaker 2: Oh god. Back in a sec.
- 2:24:00Speaker 1: For a talkback.
- 2:24:01Speaker 2: Perch on the Jim Colbert Show back said this is
- 2:24:03Speaker 2: gonna be a tasty one by Culbert. Kurt Strike correct.
- 2:24:08Speaker 2: I'm a beer. Yeah, I got excited you and the
- 2:24:12Speaker 2: rain Dude.
- 2:24:13Speaker 7: You're talking about heat advisories right now in rock Ledge,
- 2:24:17Speaker 7: and there's ninety seven degrees with a real feel of
- 2:24:22Speaker 7: one hundred and twelve.
- 2:24:24Speaker 10: It is brutal.
- 2:24:27Speaker 15: Okay, I work outside a lot, and I can tell
- 2:24:31Speaker 15: you the hydration sports drinks what you need to look for.
- 2:24:34Speaker 15: Gator eight zero Power eight zero.
- 2:24:37Speaker 2: Yeah, but liquid IV.
- 2:24:38Speaker 15: The first thing on there is pure cane sugar, and
- 2:24:41Speaker 15: the sugar the glucose does open your cells up and
- 2:24:44Speaker 15: hydrate you faster. But you don't want that sugar. Even
- 2:24:46Speaker 15: Liquid IV makes a sugar free formulation. What you want
- 2:24:50Speaker 15: is the potassium, the sodium electrolytes. Yeah, go for anything
- 2:24:53Speaker 15: it says zero or sugar free.
- 2:24:54Speaker 2: Let me try that. Yeah, the sports drinks may be
- 2:24:56Speaker 2: a savior.
- 2:24:57Speaker 5: Good morning, Jimbo.
- 2:24:59Speaker 2: What's up, Bunny and Crew?
- 2:25:02Speaker 19: So I'm told, are you supposed to keep like canormal
- 2:25:07Speaker 19: oil and like all the stuff.
- 2:25:09Speaker 24: You bake with in the fridge?
- 2:25:11Speaker 8: No?
- 2:25:12Speaker 2: Do you not just leave it out on the counter?
- 2:25:15Speaker 8: Wow?
- 2:25:16Speaker 2: No you've no, no, no, no no. If you cook
- 2:25:19Speaker 2: a turkey in it first, yes, yeah, but then you
- 2:25:22Speaker 2: don't want to bake cakes with that. Yeah. The oil
- 2:25:24Speaker 2: in the fridge is because I'm going to use it
- 2:25:26Speaker 2: to fry a turkey right again, and you've already had
- 2:25:28Speaker 2: a turkey in there. But your normal oil that you
- 2:25:30Speaker 2: use for everything else just keep right there in the
- 2:25:32Speaker 2: pantry like you always do. Look at the store. Hey, Jack,
- 2:25:35Speaker 2: Hey Debra. Quick thought, man.
- 2:25:38Speaker 12: I think the best to mean the option for people
- 2:25:44Speaker 12: that are involved with potholtics was Robin Williams said, give
- 2:25:48Speaker 12: them all NASCAR practice, you know, just for every apvizor
- 2:25:54Speaker 12: or oil company.
- 2:25:56Speaker 2: You just give them practice. We know who we're voting for,
- 2:26:00Speaker 2: mega money. We are love this show.
- 2:26:06Speaker 10: Just a random thought while you're talking about grocery stores,
- 2:26:09Speaker 10: but who remembers Old Albertson's wooden revolving table instead of
- 2:26:16Speaker 10: a belt.
- 2:26:16Speaker 2: You know, you put your groceries there, just go round
- 2:26:18Speaker 2: and around until it got full.
- 2:26:21Speaker 10: Just random thoughts. I thought that was so cool when
- 2:26:23Speaker 10: I was a kid in the eighties.
- 2:26:25Speaker 4: Yours your boy.
- 2:26:26Speaker 24: Heck to hear y'all.
- 2:26:28Speaker 5: Now.
- 2:26:28Speaker 24: The worst experience I had with on the ten on
- 2:26:30Speaker 24: the low express lane, there was a woman with two kids.
- 2:26:33Speaker 5: As soon as the cashier.
- 2:26:35Speaker 24: Finished scanning all the items, the last item, she was like, oh,
- 2:26:37Speaker 24: you know there's a plan one getting free, right, So
- 2:26:40Speaker 24: she acts one of her kids. So she tell one
- 2:26:43Speaker 24: of her kids to go to the aisle and get
- 2:26:45Speaker 24: that damn item and then bring them back over here
- 2:26:48Speaker 24: like sitting there waiting.
- 2:26:49Speaker 10: Wait, oh you serious?
- 2:26:51Speaker 4: Right now?
- 2:26:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I hate that, dude. I'm with you. Last one.
- 2:26:55Speaker 11: Hey guys, Hey, how does Donald Trump's store when he speeched?
- 2:27:00Speaker 10: Crabe me very.
