- 0:58This entire military is 1 cohesive dedicated force and the
- 1:04threats to our nations, they don't sleep.
- 1:07They're watching our every move. Iran, Russia, China, North
- 1:13Korea, ISIS, Al Qaeda, they may be watching this right now.
- 1:20Our military should not be mistaken for our cable news
- 1:23gadfest show. We don't care what you look
- 1:26like. You don't care who you voted
- 1:28for, who you worship, what you worship, who you love.
- 1:32It doesn't matter if your dad left you millions when he died
- 1:35or if you knew who your father was.
- 1:39We have been honed into a machine of lethal moving parts
- 1:43that you would be wise to avoid if you know what's good for you.
- 2:11The station where our veterans voices are heard MBR talk.
- 2:15Hey, thanks. For tuning.
- 2:19In welcome are those of the speakers and do not necessarily
- 2:24reflect the views or positions of any entities they represent.
- 2:27Find. Us on the web at MB radio dot
- 2:30US. Hello friends, I'm Kent Skelton
- 2:44and I'm so glad you are here. Together we can battle this
- 2:48struggle and find freedom from it.
- 2:49All Life is continuous and it would be ridiculous to say that
- 2:53you or I don't experience those seconds, minutes, hours, or days
- 2:58that seem like they'll never end.
- 3:00Time continues on regardless of how we feel or what we
- 3:04experience. We search longingly for a way to
- 3:08handle and navigate through these situations we are
- 3:11experiencing. There has to be a way.
- 3:14Surely I can find the solution to get rid of these negative
- 3:17experiences and periods of despair I am feeling.
- 3:21Maybe it's not our own problems but those of family members or
- 3:25loved ones that are living in pain.
- 3:27These pains may come from alcoholism, addictions, illness,
- 3:31grief, boredom and in so many other forms.
- 3:36What will we do? Where is that light I'm supposed
- 3:39to be able to see at the end of the tunnel?
- 3:42When will I see it? When will this end?
- 3:45The timing to realize you need help is up to each of us.
- 3:49That's you, that's me. We are each individually
- 3:52accountable for ourselves. We have to make the change and
- 3:56the timing is now. There's no time like the present
- 3:59to desire and begin that road to recovery.
- 4:03Together, let's reach that freedom from struggle.
- 4:22Hey, Eva. Hey, how are you?
- 4:25I'm fine. Let's welcome everybody to the
- 4:28freedom from struggle at Reds Round Table and we're going to
- 4:31be talking about peace today. Love it, love it, love it.
- 4:35Finding a little bit of peace. I, I wasn't going to play the
- 4:38whole intro. I told you that to begin with.
- 4:41I was going to get on here and we were just going to talk, I
- 4:44thought and but I just had good news came to me from outside the
- 4:50studio and I've got a new got a new little thing.
- 4:54I'm going to be playing a little bit later in the show, but I'm
- 4:56going to have to get it loaded and stuff.
- 4:58So which I'm excited about that. But look, we're thankful
- 5:04everybody's here today on the freedom from struggle at Rez
- 5:07round table, where we're going to be talking about peace.
- 5:09Me and Eve, we're going to talk about peace, how to find peace,
- 5:12where to find peace and how simple it really is or how
- 5:17simple it can really be to truly find peace.
- 5:22And I'm kind of excited to talk about it, you know, because
- 5:26it's, we all deserve. I don't know if we deserve it,
- 5:29but we're it's. We do deserve peace.
- 5:32It's available to all of us. Well, I think for sometimes the
- 5:35way I act and sometimes like that, what do I really deserve?
- 5:38You know what I mean? That's that's where I was
- 5:40getting at, you know, but no, but we are, we are definitely
- 5:46it's available to us and it and with the way we're going to be
- 5:49talking about it the way I really want to, but the
- 5:53perspective I want to share on it is really how simple it
- 5:56really can be. And it's not elusive either,
- 5:59right? No, no.
- 6:00No, no, no. Yeah.
- 6:02And it's I just. It's just an amazing thing.
- 6:04But hey, we're here on military broadcast radio gives veterans a
- 6:08voice. Eva's a veteran.
- 6:09I'm a veteran from the Air Force of 20 years.
- 6:13And loved every minute of it. And you know, it just, I saw a
- 6:18solo video that somebody shared just a few days ago and he had
- 6:21just gotten off work. Of course, for him, it might not
- 6:24have been the best thing in the world.
- 6:26He gets off work on a Friday afternoon.
- 6:28I think he got off a little bit early or was getting off, you
- 6:31know, maybe an hour early or something like that.
- 6:33And guess what? He runs into walking out of the
- 6:36building, headed to his car and which he'd never probably leaves
- 6:41till two or three hours after everybody else does because he's
- 6:44in charge. But lo and behold, it's the
- 6:46troops. They're in formation.
- 6:49They're marching home from class from all the different classes
- 6:53on Keesler Air Force Base, walking back to what they call
- 6:56the Trump marching back to the Triangle and he probably caught
- 7:00right the first group or two and then so he had to wait for all
- 7:05of them they. Trained.
- 7:06And they trained a lot of students there at Keesler.
- 7:09And so he got to watch it, but he videoed some of it.
- 7:12And then when I got to watch that video, it's just like, Oh
- 7:14well, I remember all that, you know, and just here, just here
- 7:18in the cadence, you know, and here in the little Jodi's and
- 7:20stuff like that. It, I don't know, it just always
- 7:23brought a little chill over me, you know, 'cause that's, that's
- 7:27where we, those folks are being trained to fight for our
- 7:30freedom, you know, and to serve, serve the US.
- 7:33And what an amazing thing, you know, we've been there, we've
- 7:36done that, and we know a lot of folks in our audience have been
- 7:40there, and we know others have family members that have been in
- 7:43that same thing. And so it's just, I don't know,
- 7:46I thought that was pretty cool. I should have, should have
- 7:48brought it on here just to play it, you know what I mean?
- 7:53I. Will I will sometime.
- 7:55I won't share it today because I'm really excited about getting
- 7:58this other little thing up. The the president and CEO of
- 8:04Fairway Travel is the one that passed the news on to me and I'm
- 8:08going to be sharing, we're going to be sharing a little bit
- 8:10something, something a little bit later that we're about to do
- 8:12this next week. And this is going to kind of go
- 8:15hand in hand with it. So yeah, hopefully, hopefully
- 8:18we'll like it. Yeah, we'll see.
- 8:21And I just had to try to get it. I've already emailed it to my MB
- 8:24radio dot US address and we'll see if we get it on there even.
- 8:29There's something else I noticed I don't have up here is and
- 8:32that's our overlays for the Freedom from Struggle show.
- 8:36I'll. See if I can.
- 8:39I can't really see see which one it is.
- 8:41Nope, that's not it. Let's put it up.
- 8:43I'd like to put it up here the way it is normally.
- 8:46There's that one. We'll see if you can find that
- 8:51while I continue to jabber a little.
- 8:53Bit there it. Is and OK all right that'll work
- 8:56and anyway freedom from struggle show at Reds roundtable we're
- 8:59right here in military broadcast radio and all kinds of different
- 9:02platforms we're we're shooting out to right now and we have
- 9:07over how many shows do we have on for MBR now I have.
- 9:11Lost count? I don't know.
- 9:13I think last I heard it was around 30 or so shows and then,
- 9:17but then that's just on MBR talk.
- 9:19Then we have MBR Radio, the DJ's that are on there, I saw they
- 9:24have a new guy that's managing the DJ's and that's pretty
- 9:27interesting. I'm sure people will fight will
- 9:30hear about that soon. And so they're playing a lot of
- 9:33different music online. And here the big thing is that
- 9:37gaming channel, you know, and that they got, which doesn't
- 9:41really mean a whole heck of a lot to me because I'm not into
- 9:43the gaming scene. I'm not into the.
- 9:45Gaming. Maybe they're trying to draw us
- 9:48into it. Evil.
- 9:49They will have to go in there and show them how.
- 9:50I don't know, you know, my Ask my kids.
- 9:53I was doing good to play Crash Bandicoot back in the day.
- 9:58I remember playing pong, you know, on our.
- 10:00Oh yeah, sorry, Crash Bandicoot was my game.
- 10:04Doing, doing, doing but. And then Inspiro the dragon.
- 10:10Oh. Yeah, there you go.
- 10:11That right there, too. So somebody that probably brings
- 10:13back some memories for some people and then others like what
- 10:16in the heck are those two kids we're talking?
- 10:20Well, I'm talking 80s stuff myself, you know, but well.
- 10:23That was the 90s. That's.
- 10:24You're the 90s, you're talking 90s.
- 10:26And my boys played it. They still play it today.
- 10:29Grandson's doing it now. But listen, bread, my name's
- 10:33Red. Once again, I'm a grateful
- 10:35believer in Jesus Christ and I lead to Celebrate Recovery group
- 10:39right here in Biloxi, Ms. at First Baptist Church.
- 10:42We meet on Thursday nights and you can find a Celebrate
- 10:46Recovery near you right on a app or either just go online
- 10:51www.celebrate Celebrate Recovery, you know, search
- 10:54Celebrate Recovery on your favorite Google or Bing, Bing,
- 10:59is it Bing or whatever? What is every platforms you use,
- 11:02you know, or search providers you use and they, there's
- 11:07meetings all over the US, whether it be for Celebrate
- 11:10Recovery, for Alcoholics Anonymous, for any other
- 11:13substance abuse type things, just for numerous, numerous 12
- 11:18step programs that are around, you know, mental health type of
- 11:21classes and stuff you can attend.
- 11:23They are out there. And I just urge, if you're going
- 11:27through anything, find somewhere to go, because if you don't need
- 11:30that, you don't need to be having all that on you yourself,
- 11:34you know, at home or just just slipping, tiptoeing through
- 11:37life, you know, with problems that you just, you want to get
- 11:41rid of, just don't know how to, how to get rid of it, you know,
- 11:45and, and Celebrate Recovery. It's such a good deal because we
- 11:48have these folks that come together.
- 11:50We, we, you know, we, we fellowship together, we eat
- 11:52together and, and then we let you know, worship, worship the
- 11:57Lord. You know, we listen to music
- 11:58together and then actually have lessons and start celebrating
- 12:03each person's recovery, you know, whether they're just
- 12:06coming into the recovery program or if they've been there for
- 12:11years and years. You know, just so I might be
- 12:14celebrating recovery or trying to recover, been struggling with
- 12:17something right now that I've just put on the table yet.
- 12:21I might have been my alcoholism. I've been celebrating recovery
- 12:24now from alcoholism, alcoholism for 30 years, you know, but I
- 12:28still go to programs about it. And that the reason when I go to
- 12:32programs for me on that particular thing, it's not so
- 12:35much for me, but Eva, it's for helping others now.
- 12:40You know, it's to be, it's be able to be there, you know, and
- 12:45you know, just to let them know it that it does work, you know,
- 12:48the program works. And of course, celebrate.
- 12:52And I'm not, that's right, I'm not alone, but it's a 12 step
- 12:56recovery process really works great.
- 12:59The way we're looking at it. Celebrate Recovery.
- 13:01It's a faith-based 12 step recovery plan, which I always
- 13:04share a few things about our our faith-based 12 steps in a
- 13:08comparison to the steps that you can find in the Bible.
- 13:12And then we'll do that again today.
- 13:14But Eva, what what? Let's hear something about Eva.
- 13:17What's even got going on? Good.
- 13:20What I have going on, good. So, you know, so I'm an Army
- 13:25veteran Desert Storm and you know, my book, I'm still working
- 13:31on my book is getting closer and closer to getting republished
- 13:35with Trinity Broadcasting Network's publishing company
- 13:38called Trilogy. So welcome to my people garden.
- 13:43The republished version I hope will be coming out pretty soon.
- 13:48So that's, that's pretty exciting.
- 13:50And then working on my PHDM in the dissertation phase and we've
- 13:56got the topic narrowed down to the unfulfilled needs of female
- 14:01combat veterans. So this is in the public
- 14:05administration realm of things that doesn't.
- 14:08So my goal is to find the the things that female combat what
- 14:13our unfulfilled needs are that are really like unresearched.
- 14:21And by that I mean, it's not homelessness, It's not the stuff
- 14:25that the VA already covers with medical and mental health type
- 14:30stuff. This is the, you know,
- 14:31transition services and you know, any of these other things
- 14:35that maybe it's childcare, maybe it's trans, you know,
- 14:38transportation. It's just it could be numerous
- 14:40things out from the smallest to the biggest I.
- 14:42Guess right that that I'm hoping we'll find out when I do the
- 14:46qualitative survey later on. All right.
- 14:50We're looking forward to hearing more about that.
- 14:52Eva, thanks for sharing. And I'm really interested, you
- 14:56know, with the with the books and stuff you that you probably
- 14:58get published. And that's exciting, I know.
- 15:01That. Is you always you know so I
- 15:05hadn't gotten that gotten to that level yet.
- 15:06I understand that we have somebody in the military
- 15:09broadcast radio community that's started coming up with some
- 15:12things of their own that they've been getting online, and I'm
- 15:16sure we're going to be continuing to hear more about
- 15:18that. I don't know if I have anything
- 15:20to show, but I know they'll be seeing it some places because
- 15:23I've heard some talk about it. I guess I don't know what you're
- 15:26talking about. Well then you're going to find
- 15:29out too, but that's OK. Some animation type stuff you
- 15:32know. Oh, I did hear about that.
- 15:34I did see. The MBR duck is going.
- 15:37They got. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:38And. Everything now and they're going
- 15:40public. They're going.
- 15:41Right. I think it's like a coloring
- 15:43book or something. I don't.
- 15:45Know yeah, I definitely think there's a coloring book and
- 15:48there's a bunch of other things I believe but that you know that
- 15:52that NBR duck is like ZZ Top they're going nationwide anyway
- 15:59so so yeah, they're going nationwide but hey, listen,
- 16:02we're we're right here we're going to come back We have to go
- 16:05to break here real quick and we're come back and then when we
- 16:08come back we'll talk about some of those faith-based steps that
- 16:12I was talking about and and in my mind that they helped lead
- 16:15towards peace and that we're going to me and Eve are also
- 16:18going to discuss a little bit, you know, how how ways you can
- 16:21find peace and and maybe even why we need to find peace.
- 16:25OK and but we'll be back real quick and if you'll stand by
- 16:30don't leave the we're going to be right.
- 16:32I can't. I lost my doggone songs, but
- 16:35I've got them now. Here we are, and we're going to
- 16:37hear one of these good patriotic songs.

- 21:01Radio dot US. The station where our veterans
- 21:06voices are heard MBR talk. Hey, thanks.
- 21:11For tuning. In welcome are those of the
- 21:14speakers and do not necessarily reflect the views or positions
- 21:19of any entities they represent. Find.
- 21:21This on the web MB radio dot US. Hey, MJI, saw you waving hello.
- 21:28Me and Eva said hello right back to you.
- 21:32Happy Saturday. No doubt about it.
- 21:35Hey, I did try to. I was going to pull up that over
- 21:38while we were on break. Man, You know when you're when
- 21:40you're sitting there crunched for the time, You know when
- 21:42you're sitting there in between a commercial breaks, Boy, it
- 21:45seems like it just flies by. It does.
- 21:48I was sitting there singing that song and I was like, man, I
- 21:50can't believe I've already sang that song all the way through
- 21:52yet the red, white and blue. But we had it's.
- 21:55A really good song. It really is.
- 21:58It really is. I'm fixing to pull up our 12
- 22:03steps and their comparisons real quick so we can talk about that.
- 22:07And Eva, when when we speak of peace, when we what, what off
- 22:15the top of your head? I mean, we hadn't talked about
- 22:18this. What is why do we need peace?
- 22:21Do we need peace? Of course we need peace.
- 22:25You know, it's, it's mentioned in the Bible a whole lot.
- 22:29I think that's probably one of the reasons why I like going
- 22:31hiking is I get to shout out all of the noise from the world, you
- 22:37know, and just enjoy being with God, being with, you know, being
- 22:43with him. And you know, that that
- 22:45meditation factor, if you will, that and that's probably
- 22:50something that's not spoken of very much is Christian
- 22:54meditation and being able to, you know, be at peace.
- 23:00Because if you're always in a state of anxiety or you know, a
- 23:04state of anxiousness or a state of movement, right, right.
- 23:10When, when do you relax? When do you settle and just be
- 23:15at peace? And a lot of people think it's
- 23:17elusive, but I don't think it's elusive because I know where I
- 23:21go find it in the woods because I can shut out all of the noise,
- 23:25all of the microwaves, all of these the frequencies that are
- 23:29that MJM JS probably love. And then I'm talking about this
- 23:32stuff. But I love going out there
- 23:34hiking because I can just, I can settle.
- 23:40Right. That makes sense and.
- 23:42Yeah, it does, I thought. And hear the green noise.
- 23:45I could you know it's green noise is a thing.
- 23:47Right. Yeah, I don't know, Green.
- 23:48Noise. Oh yeah, I love it.
- 23:51I love that noise. You do when you go hiking that.
- 23:53I mean, would you go hunting? But I bet you that's why you
- 23:56like going out there so much. I really do.
- 23:59I and that is, it's not all about going out there.
- 24:03I mean, I love to see the wildlife, don't get me wrong,
- 24:05OK. And every once in a while I like
- 24:07to take, take, take a little that wildlife, you know, put it
- 24:10on the table. But not all the time, you know,
- 24:13you see a lot of times you see you, you keep watching them, You
- 24:16know, same with fishing. You know, you might sit out
- 24:18there fishing and out on the Gulf and wherever, you know, and
- 24:23it's quiet, there's no traffic, there's no other noise.
- 24:26And you're just sitting out there and, you know, you might
- 24:29catch a fish and you throw it back in, you know, catch and
- 24:32release or, or just simply you're sitting there fishing.
- 24:36But you see the water's clarity is good enough.
- 24:38You can see the other fish swimming around and everything,
- 24:41man. And it's just I'm in in a real
- 24:44world aquarium, you know, I mean in a real life in the aquarium,
- 24:49you know, of the sea, right? And that's pretty neat to be
- 24:52able to do that. But same way with, like you
- 24:55said, being out in the woods, whether you seeing squirrels,
- 24:58whatever the kind of wildlife, but just hearing the wind blow,
- 25:01you know, and Oh my goodness, what's.
- 25:05Oh, so MJ, she's saying it's Shinrin.
- 25:08Yoku, translated as Forest bathing, is a Japanese practice
- 25:13of spending time in nature, particularly forests, to promote
- 25:16physical and mental well-being. It involves using all 5 senses
- 25:20to experience the poorest environment and to reconnect
- 25:23with nature. Chinron Yoku is not simply a
- 25:25walk in the woods, but a mindful immersion in the natural sound
- 25:29surroundings. I like that.
- 25:31That's a, that's a great definition of that, no doubt.
- 25:33And, and you, you need to immerse yourself in it, you
- 25:37know, just get lost. Well, because otherwise we're
- 25:41staying immersed in the worldly side of things.
- 25:45So but Eva, but when you get off work when, when everybody would,
- 25:49you know, everybody gets off work.
- 25:50And I'm talking about veterans and I'm talking about, you know,
- 25:52our parents, our kids that are working, anybody in the work
- 25:56environment school, OK, And just everybody and anybody, whether
- 26:02civilian or military, American or other countries.
- 26:06Well, I mean, don't you get to drive home?
- 26:07Don't you have some peace on that commute home or when you're
- 26:11riding that bus? When I'm riding that bus and
- 26:14you're. Holding on to that train, you
- 26:16know, isn't that And you're walking through, walking down
- 26:20the streets of New York, isn't that peace it?
- 26:24I guess it can be if you can tune that stuff out.
- 26:28Some people think it is. I don't think, I don't think you
- 26:31can really ever say a drive when you're out there any type of
- 26:34traffic or. Anything.
- 26:35Yeah, because your mind is still active on what's happening on
- 26:38the road. Possibility.
- 26:40Yeah. I mean, you know, you find a
- 26:44little piece right here doing this in therapy in a sense, but
- 26:50you're busy. You're busy, right?
- 26:53Busy thinking. You're busy thinking what other
- 26:55people might be hearing or what you think they want to hear or
- 26:59what, what, what you're going to say next.
- 27:03So it's real. That's no peace.
- 27:05It may be a little therapy, maybe a little therapy, right?
- 27:08Giving veterans a voice. Chair yoga Have you tried chair
- 27:13yoga before? Myself.
- 27:15Yeah. If I did, I.
- 27:19If I did, I wasn't doing it right.
- 27:22Well, it was this, it was this thing where when I went through
- 27:26it, they were literally were like, start it, start it like
- 27:30your toes and you're only thinking about your toes.
- 27:34And then you think about, you know, the, the, the sole of your
- 27:38foot. Anyways, the whole process is to
- 27:41go piece by piece by piece on your on your body and only think
- 27:47about so it when you're thinking about, let's say your little
- 27:51toe. Right.
- 27:53You're not thinking about anything else but your little
- 27:56toe, whatever your little, you know, you're just concentrating,
- 28:00sitting there with your eyes closed, your hands, you know,
- 28:03flat on your legs and thinking about my little toe in a way
- 28:09that can bring you some peace. Because it's, it does shut out
- 28:13the rest of the noise of whatever else that can cause you
- 28:17to be frustrated or anxious or whatever.
- 28:23But it's a but it is a way of being able to help retrain your
- 28:27brain. Retrain the brain.
- 28:29To to stop the other noise. That's what I right.
- 28:33If it's peace, what's the opposite of that noise?
- 28:37Right, right, right, right. Yeah, that so that, that peace
- 28:40and relaxation right there and that.
- 28:42Yeah. And and what so that's different
- 28:45ways we have peace and we of course, we know MJ was able to
- 28:49throw on a few ways or talked about that forest piece.
- 28:53And I was thinking to say I don't know if she showed
- 28:55anything. Oh, come.
- 28:58On Ride the train and Ride it up.
- 29:00Isn't that a song? And I don't know what you mean
- 29:03by this comment. I don't know what this.
- 29:07Is about come on, ride the train.
- 29:09Is that like a sex swing? I don't understand.
- 29:12What that comment was about hey, let's.
- 29:15Knock where this show? Before we before we get off on
- 29:18that even we we had pulled up one Bible verse.
- 29:21That we wanted. To share and talking about what
- 29:24is peace, you know, and I don't know if if folks can read it,
- 29:30what what's I can't even read it.
- 29:31But I need to make it bigger. If you can't, but anyway Psalms
- 29:362911 right, the Lord will give you will give strength and to
- 29:40his people. The Lord will bless his people
- 29:45with peace. Who who is the Lord's people?
- 29:51What I believe that's I think the Lord's people is meant to be
- 29:56for everyone and that he, he wants to give us this peace.
- 30:03But I think you're missing some words there.
- 30:05The Lord will give. Strength will give.
- 30:08Strength will give, right? Because give is a gift.
- 30:12It will. He will give a strength.
- 30:16I think that's important to remember.
- 30:18He gives it. He gives this give this strength
- 30:21to his people. Strength, right?
- 30:23And they will be blessed with peace.
- 30:26Yep. Look, let's, let's go, let's
- 30:28slip right over there to those few verses real quick that I
- 30:31talked about for let's see. Let me throw it on there real
- 30:35quick. The first step is we admitted we
- 30:38were powerless over our addictions and compulsive
- 30:41behaviors, that our lives become unmanageable.
- 30:44And which Romans 718 says, I know that nothing good lives in
- 30:49me. That isn't my simple nature, for
- 30:51I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
- 30:54Romans 718 And in Step 2 it says we came to believe that a power
- 31:00greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
- 31:06OK. And as we do that, Philippians
- 31:10213 says, For it is God who works in you to will and to act
- 31:15according to his good purpose. And then finally in #3 which
- 31:19there is 12 but in #3 it says we made a decision to turn our
- 31:23lives and our wheels over to our wheels over to the care of God.
- 31:28Romans 12/1 says therefore, I urge you, brothers, and view of
- 31:31God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,
- 31:35holy and pleasing to God. This is your spiritual act of
- 31:39worship. And you know, when I, when I sit
- 31:42there and say as a spiritual act of worship, the Lord wants us to
- 31:48have peace. And, and when I say, how can we
- 31:53have peace, well, you know, we, we do that we have peace, peace,
- 31:57not war, right, peace. And you know, we're peace, we're
- 32:02at peace with our neighbors, we're at peace with the our, our
- 32:05fellow employees, our peers. We're at peace with our boss.
- 32:09We came in on time. We're not.
- 32:11The goal, the goal is always peace.
- 32:13The goal is always peace and and that so, so we're not having
- 32:18any, any friction. We got peace.
- 32:20We're not having any. We're not conflicting in any
- 32:23way, but the Lord wants us to have peace.
- 32:26And it's a different price type of peace and being just
- 32:29satisfied at work because you were on time, you've done your
- 32:32work well, you've gotten a good reviewer performance report.
- 32:37It's more to it than that. And yet it is really, really
- 32:42that simple. Not to worry.
- 32:46The Lord wants us to confide in Him.
- 32:50He wants us to confide in him. He wants us to repent of the
- 32:53things we do wrong and not do it wrong anymore, which we were
- 32:57talking about something earlier today even before we came on the
- 33:00air. And it's something that I just
- 33:03want to get out, get away from and you know, cry uncle, hey, I
- 33:07can't do that but give it to the Lord and not do it anymore.
- 33:10Not mess around with that, OK, Not do that, not do that wrong,
- 33:15that sin, if you will. Because when I sit there and say
- 33:18this, 12 steps aren't only for the alcoholic.
- 33:21There aren't only for the drug addict.
- 33:24There are not only for the anxious, not only for the
- 33:29depressed, it's for anyone with any type of hurt, habit or hang
- 33:33up. It's for anyone and everyone
- 33:36because we are all sin, whether we know it or not, is for all of
- 33:40us and we are all of God's people.
- 33:43We were created in His image and from the beginning.
- 33:48We're we're perfectly imperfect. We're perfectly imperfect and
- 33:53but in his eyes we are perfect. That's right.
- 33:56We are we, but we are just plain perfect.
- 33:59And but he wants us to, like I said, be with him, you know,
- 34:04have have that peace, have that inner peace not to worry, you
- 34:08know, don't be anxious. There's so many verses we can be
- 34:11pulling up all these different verses about not worrying about
- 34:15not being anxious about just give it to the Lord and then
- 34:21doing his will and we can have peace and it's, and that's the
- 34:26kind of peace I'm talking about folks.
- 34:28That's how simple what I was talking about truly, when it all
- 34:34boils down to this, it's it's that decision we have.
- 34:38We we, we decide to be peaceful or we decide to be angry, to not
- 34:46to be peace, to have peace or to be to be not, not have peace, be
- 34:50mean, be mad. You know the way I look at it,
- 34:53right? It takes a lot of energy to be
- 34:57angry. You know what, I actually, and I
- 35:02sit there. Hey, I watched this video.
- 35:04I saw this, I heard this, I read that, but you know, it's it's
- 35:08because I'm not the expert on everything and I do watch other
- 35:12things and I Billy Graham, I was listening to something with
- 35:16Billy Graham. It was just recently.
- 35:20And when it when it goes with what you were just saying, you
- 35:23know, if you're angry and there's anger in you, it's not
- 35:27peace. It's and it does take that it
- 35:30does take a huge it. Takes a lot of energy.
- 35:36And what he was sitting there saying what he said, if I can,
- 35:39if I can help make make sense out of what I he said.
- 35:44But like Eva, like if I, if I'm sitting here, whether it be with
- 35:49my kids, with my wife or, or just in a daily activities,
- 35:53whether it be work or whatever, you get angry.
- 35:59You know, if you get angry, you're, you're tough, you're
- 36:02strong, you're, you're, you're in control.
- 36:05You know, you know, I said this and I said that and I'm going to
- 36:09win this thing. I'm the man.
- 36:10I'm you know, and and I'll, you know, that stuff truthfully, you
- 36:16don't have to have that. I mean, because we, we should be
- 36:19able to just sit here and talk normal, you know, Hey, we can do
- 36:21this and do that. We don't have to be angry.
- 36:24I mean just talking. I'm going to put in the chat a
- 36:28different verse. OK, all right.
- 36:30Please do. Please do.
- 36:31And I think you'll like this one.
- 36:33So it's First Corinthians 1433. Say it again. 1st Corinthians
- 36:401433 OK God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in
- 36:46all churches of the Saints. How about that?
- 36:50Right, That's God's not the author of confusion.
- 36:54So who's the author of Confusion?
- 36:56Be but just the daygum opposite like the devil.
- 36:59Yeah, Satan. He's the author of peace.
- 37:04God is the author of Peace. The author of Peace the the, the
- 37:11deliverer of Peace and the one that makes it available.
- 37:16And like I said, he wants it. We've read earlier in Psalm 2911
- 37:19and he wants that for all his people, you know, and and all we
- 37:25have to do really truthfully to have that peace is to to truly
- 37:28believe in him, repent of our our wrongdoings and, and turn to
- 37:32the Lord, you know, and turn to God and and turn to God.
- 37:36And it's when she do that and you do that with all your, all
- 37:42your mind and all your heart and he asked him into into your
- 37:46heart, you truly can start finding that peace and seeing
- 37:52what that peace is really about. Not that you understand
- 37:55everything that moment that you say it, but that's when you can
- 38:00truly start realizing peace and, and might be in the in it might
- 38:07be what you find in your daily readings or your daily
- 38:10activities when you're staying with the Lord.
- 38:13You know, whether it's Bible study, whether like I said, it's
- 38:16just actual reading, but even in prayer.
- 38:19Yep. And hey, hey, strange boy, you
- 38:25rock. You were the rocker.
- 38:26And Jose? Jose.
- 38:28Jose, love to see you. So you saw my wave.
- 38:32I'm going to give a shout out to Jose.
- 38:34He's going to be on my show tonight.
- 38:36OK, what time is that? So that's at six Eastern, so you
- 38:41know when this I have a little bit of break to go and eat some
- 38:45dinner before my show starts, but Jose's going to join me.
- 38:49I'm so, so excited it he's he hasn't been on for a minute, you
- 38:53know, so he's going to Co host with me.
- 38:55We're going to catch up and talk about resilience.
- 38:58Resilience. That's a good word, right?
- 39:01So and then we've got Fair and Dozier popping in saying hi and,
- 39:08and MJ explained earlier she posted in the comment that it
- 39:13was about chair yoga. Oh, OK, OK.
- 39:17Yeah, I was trying to find peace.
- 39:19It's fine trying to find peace. But we had a we had a hay from
- 39:24Amber. She gave us some Purple Hearts
- 39:26earlier and Matthew, she said. We were on fire.
- 39:30Right, right. Oh, OK all.
- 39:32Right, wanted to make sure we covered all those great
- 39:34comments. That's, that's pretty neat.
- 39:37You know, I, I had that Navy chaplain was on talking about
- 39:40Purple Hearts and I know we have AI know we have a lot of Purple
- 39:43Heart recipients. You know there's many and
- 39:47thankful for what they do to continue to do.
- 39:50There's a there's a guy back in Texas, the world, I think he's a
- 39:54World War 2 veteran. Mr. Woody is 100 today.
- 40:00So shout out, shout out to my North Texas peeps who have been
- 40:06celebrating Woody's birthday. And if any of y'all are Cowboy
- 40:11fans, there's this great guy Frenchy.
- 40:16Frenchie, you've seen him on TV before, You didn't know?
- 40:20But he always wears the big bright orange clothes and he's
- 40:24he's one of the biggest fans for the Cowboys today.
- 40:28I think it's today is his birthday too.
- 40:31So shout out to Frenchie. Yeah, he always gives me a happy
- 40:35birthday. But he's a veteran also.
- 40:39Hey Eva, look I've I've just looked at the time.
- 40:42It's 40 after the hour. We've.
- 40:43I know. 40 minutes. We're going to play another
- 40:46quick song, folks. There's no coming on we'll.
- 40:50Have to talk to him after we come back from the.
- 40:52Break. Because right now we're going to
- 40:55hear a Little Soldiers Prayer by John Michael Okey Doke.
- 43:52The station where our veterans voices are heard.
- 43:55MBR. Talk.
- 43:56Hey thanks for tuning. In welcome are those of the
- 44:02speakers and do not necessarily reflect the views or positions
- 44:07of any entities they represent. Find.
- 44:09This on the web at MB radio dot US.
- 44:13All right. Welcome back, folks.
- 44:15I was. I was just thinking so much for
- 44:17a short show today. Yes, already 3:45 but folks, we
- 44:25wanted, we just want, we really wanted to come in and, and I'm,
- 44:29I'm going to be traveling said I was going to share something a
- 44:31little bit later, man, I have AI have a new little commercial
- 44:37spot that's going to probably be popping up on military broadcast
- 44:41radio pretty soon. And what it is is I I'm going
- 44:46headed to Sandals. I'm headed to Saint Vincent in
- 44:48the Grenadines and that's way out China, you know, and those
- 44:54southern and southern Caribbean, the eastern most southern
- 44:58Caribbean islands pretty much and just northeast of Grenada,
- 45:02which some of our military folks remember Grenada.
- 45:05But anyway, it's going to be a a great week.
- 45:09We're flying down there and we're going to Sandals Saint
- 45:13Vincent. But the cool thing, and it's
- 45:16part of the American Society of Travel Agency and you know, you,
- 45:21you as a agent yourself, you know, we can I've I've got
- 45:25fortunate enough to have this invite to go to it.
- 45:27OK. And it's very limited.
- 45:30It's limited. I say limited.
- 45:32Each location is limited. However, there'll be a lot of
- 45:35agents that are there Sandals and Beaches, you know, advisors
- 45:39and but it's going to be a neat opportunity to be there.
- 45:44For one thing, they're going to also be at the other Sandals and
- 45:48beaches locations, whether it be the Turks and Caicos, whether it
- 45:51be the Bahamas or Jamaica, St. Louis, you know, all the
- 45:56different places. Alessian Beach, Oh my gosh,
- 46:01where I can't even think of all the names right now, you know,
- 46:04but they're, they're Cura Sal and wow.
- 46:08I mean, there's there's, there's Easley 17 to 22 locations where
- 46:12people will definitely be at OK, and they'll have sandals.
- 46:17When I say sandals, they'll have their sandals.
- 46:20The, the big folks, you know what I mean?
- 46:22The, the directors, yes, yes, the senior staff as obviously as
- 46:29the staff, the local staff and managers and resort managers
- 46:35there. But it's going to be a pretty,
- 46:38pretty big deal. And we're going to be.
- 46:41And, and here's the cool thing. Everybody likes to vacation.
- 46:45I know people like to vacation. Sandals is a great vacation
- 46:51destination. It's luxurious, it's romantic.
- 46:55The food is oh oh man, exceptional and they have all,
- 47:01you know, your drinks and stuff that are supplied.
- 47:03It's always all inclusive. You know you can't even unless
- 47:07you have like a Butler, a Butler room and the.
- 47:13Upgrade. Or if you're yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:15Or if you're using the spa, you know, certain things in the spa.
- 47:19That's about the only two instances that you really make
- 47:24pull, really pull money out of your pocket and tip anything
- 47:28else. Everything else that sandals the
- 47:31normal, I said the normal rooms, whether it's being the luxury
- 47:35rooms or the club level rooms, it's all it's, it's, it's all
- 47:39inclusive. And like I said, you do, people
- 47:42do tip, but tend to tip their butlers and it's accepted.
- 47:46Same with the spa, right? But you.
- 47:51Would do that even on a cruise or anything.
- 47:53It wouldn't matter where you're at, right?
- 47:55You wouldn't do it. You would do that, but anything
- 47:59else, you're just going up. You're not giving your room
- 48:01number, you're not giving, you know, oh, here's my credit card
- 48:04or here's this. It's just including you just go
- 48:07up there and you know, you may meet the person and it it might
- 48:10be likely that they, they recognize you from one the time
- 48:13you were there before. You know, I'm talking about
- 48:16maybe gotten a drink or something earlier or anything.
- 48:19You've been visited the same restaurant or location to eat.
- 48:23They've already seen you and served you.
- 48:25So they might know you there, but they know show you by name,
- 48:29but you're not going around just giving your name.
- 48:31You know, you're just, you're not giving your room number out.
- 48:34You just walk around and here, here, here, here.
- 48:37Yeah. You know, it's just like, wow,
- 48:39enjoy it, enjoy yourself. It's it's the great, a great
- 48:43destination location. When you go to Sandals, when you
- 48:47go to beaches Sandals, it's not only for couples.
- 48:50It is a it is a couples type thing basically, but you did not
- 48:55have to be a honeymoon couple or a married couple.
- 49:00It could be girlfriends, guys, you know, that might be joining
- 49:05coming down to the location to play the local golf course.
- 49:09It may be, like you mentioned earlier, might be a bunch of
- 49:11girls that are there for Bachelorette type deal.
- 49:14You know, that's it's not, but it's what I'm saying.
- 49:18It's not just for the the couple you know.
- 49:23Good. Because I don't have.
- 49:24I don't have, you know. Yeah, but but yeah, you and your
- 49:27best friend can go, you and your sister, you know what I mean?
- 49:31Yeah, y'all go and and have a great time.
- 49:34Enjoy yourselves and the people that and once you go the I say
- 49:40the people that go there. Once you go there, you probably
- 49:43don't want to go back though, because it's just the service.
- 49:46Everything is impeccable and it's just that good, you know?
- 49:49Have you been to this location? Before I have not been to Saint
- 49:53Vincent yet, so this is how first time we'll be going to
- 49:55Saint Vincent and I will just throw in there They're going to
- 49:58be well, anytime you know Eva, we can we can secure somebody's
- 50:04vacation for $98. OK.
- 50:07And when I say secure that vacation, we can secure no
- 50:12kidding, a vacation for $98 and it requires a little bit more
- 50:17within the next two to three weeks, $400.00 deposit total
- 50:22secures an actual Yeah, that that right there.
- 50:30You know, it's it's covered. The $98 will cover you know,
- 50:34we'll secure that vacation with specials that might be offered.
- 50:38And I believe we're going to have a lot of nice specials this
- 50:41next week that are going to be offered with sandals and through
- 50:45the ass. Wow, you have to keep me posted
- 50:47so I can. I will.
- 50:48Keep you posted We will try to keep everyone in our audience
- 50:52military broadcast radio posted and let people know about it.
- 50:58So. So the 98 is kind of like a mini
- 51:01layaway of the main deposit. Yeah, that $98 is you're going
- 51:06to make sure you get whatever they're offering, whether
- 51:09they're offering, you know, a, a.
- 51:11It's a whole. Dinner on the water, or a
- 51:13catamaran cruise, midnight cruise, or whatever it might be
- 51:17that they're offering. You know what it might be a $500
- 51:21spa credit, you know that if you book during that little window,
- 51:25So what they'll be, they'll have a window and what we want to do,
- 51:29we want everybody to reach out to us and so we can tie them
- 51:33into it and get that secured. And then you gives you like I
- 51:37said a couple more weeks to get the full deposit in.
- 51:39And this is for travel that's at least to the calendar end of
- 51:442026. It may even step slip into 27.
- 51:48OK. And then you get, you get there,
- 51:51you secure that, that the special you put your deposit
- 51:55down on your room. And then if it for some reason
- 51:58we need to change something later on, there's no change fees
- 52:01and stuff like that. So, you know, cuz you're, we're
- 52:05asking you to come down with a date pretty darn quick, you
- 52:07know, Hey, I want a seven day, seven or seven night vacation or
- 52:11six night vacation. I want to go in August, you
- 52:14know, of 25 or August of 2026. And but then you Oh my gosh, I
- 52:20can't get time off. OK, well, we just we'll just
- 52:23have to choose another date. You know, when and we do that.
- 52:27We can we can do that. You.
- 52:28Know good because I can't plan my next trip until I graduate
- 52:32from my PhD, so same thing my big That could be the.
- 52:36Same. It could be the same thing, you
- 52:38know, coupler going together. Well, what we're not together.
- 52:43For my graduation, present is okay.
- 52:48Sandals Vacation and so folks, it's easy to do, but they got so
- 52:55many things to offer the Sandals like I said, it's for couples,
- 52:57adults only and the Beaches locations are for anybody and
- 53:01everybody. All you got to do is get your,
- 53:04we'll get there, get your $98 this coming week, we'll get that
- 53:08$98 from you and we'll secure a spot with all the specials that
- 53:13they're offering all the so. How do people need to reach out
- 53:18to us? How do they need to reach out
- 53:20to? US well, you know it's easy.
- 53:22They can always reach out to. Do you have a e-mail address of
- 53:27MB radio? US address.
- 53:29Eva at MB Radio dot. US OK right there so you can
- 53:33talk, you can. They can reach me while you're
- 53:35gone. Eva at MMB radio dot US because
- 53:38we'll be in connect in contact with each other or you can do
- 53:41red at MB radio dot US and I'll tell you what you you call you
- 53:48just call MB radio you get in touch with anybody at MB radio,
- 53:52they get in touch with me or Eva and we'll have them we'll have
- 53:55we'll be right back in contact with yourselves and.
- 53:59They could always say messenger me.
- 54:02Yeah, Right, right, right. That's right, that's right.
- 54:07I like it. So we'll just talk it up and,
- 54:09and there's always something goes back to military broadcast
- 54:12radio because that's where the station is giving veterans a
- 54:15voice. That's where Fairway Travel is
- 54:17affiliated with and we're thankful for that.
- 54:20We want to help continue to help support military broadcast radio
- 54:24in any way we can And and. That's why people need to join
- 54:28us on the cruise in November. Too Exactly once again that
- 54:32Veteran's Day cruise you need to get in contact with us now
- 54:34because the special I got that prices locked in up until I
- 54:39believe it's May 12th or 15th. So so this even either way, that
- 54:44Veteran's Day cruise, the sandals thing would be a great
- 54:47think about couples, you know, a Mother's Day vacation, you know,
- 54:51for a Mother's Day present, not a Mother's Day.
- 54:54That would be nice. I'll be lucky if I get a meal.
- 54:57You know, some, some, some of you young folks out there, you
- 55:01know, you might want to be giving your mom and dad a a nice
- 55:04little sandals vacation or, or maybe the whole family wants to
- 55:07go a Mother's Day gift to get the deposit down and have these
- 55:12specials at one of the beaches locations for the entire family.
- 55:16And that's, I mean, they got, they got the rooms, obviously
- 55:19that'll, that'll hold multiple people.
- 55:22But they have got homes basically.
- 55:25They're basically homes like 3 and 4 bedroom units and with a
- 55:30full kitchen in there. I don't know why anybody needs a
- 55:32kitchen out of sandals, but sometimes you want to cook up
- 55:35something on your own, I guess, or if you have a Butler that
- 55:37might be preparing something for you right there.
- 55:39I don't know, but but they do have that available.
- 55:42And look, let's let's share the serenity prayer real quick
- 55:46because we're we're, we're never about doing a whole show, 60
- 55:50minutes show. Let's do the serenity prayer
- 55:53real quick. Let me see if I can pull that up
- 55:55and share that to the screen and if I can read, I believe I got
- 56:02it right there. If everybody can see that, let
- 56:07me make sure that's I've got it just like it's supposed to be.
- 56:11And I believe I do. I believe I do.
- 56:17But anyway, so if everybody, if you're driving or something like
- 56:20that, not safe, don't be bowing your heads, closing your eyes
- 56:23right now. I.
- 56:23Don't know before you get into that.
- 56:25Hold on. You can say that.
- 56:28Can you see it? Yeah, but hold on.
- 56:30Joel says the best way to kiss your in laws heinie, just
- 56:34saying, is to do the vacation thing.
- 56:38You need a prayer for that. That's our station manager.
- 56:41OK, look, look, folks, real quick, before we close out, no,
- 56:44kid, we're going to have a little word of prayer, and
- 56:47that's in the serenity prayer. And it's God grant me the
- 56:50serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to
- 56:54change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
- 56:57Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time.
- 57:01Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace.
- 57:04Taking as Jesus did the simple world as it is, not as I would
- 57:08have it. Trusting that you will make all
- 57:10things right if I surrender to your will so that I may be
- 57:14reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with you
- 57:17forever in the next. And that's the serenity prayer.
- 57:21It was written many years ago and a lot of folks that are in
- 57:2512 step programs, they, they see that or, or read those first 3
- 57:29or 4 lines, not necessarily the whole prayer and but that's the
- 57:34whole prayer right there. And it's a pleasure for me to be
- 57:38able to share that with y'all. Remember veteran's day crews are
- 57:42going to throw that back up here one more time real quick.
