- 0:14Hello friends. It's shown here.
- 0:17Happy Tuesday to you. It is the 18th of April and you
- 0:22and I take another Bowl step forward into the next chapter of
- 0:27God's word. And today, we will finish off
- 0:29retail. Eating the first letter from the
- 0:32disciple, John, and it's easy for us to forget that we
- 0:36listening to John. But these are the words written
- 0:38by an old man who is reflecting on his life, spent in Jesus
- 0:48company, and then in Jesus ministry.
- 0:51And as he reflects, he just wants people to have their lives
- 0:56centered and rooted in God's love.
- 1:00In faith and solidarity. So let us travel back in time
- 1:06and sit beside this man. As he writes to finish off this
- 1:10letter to his friends. In first John, chapter 5.
- 1:26Everyone who believes that Jesus is.
- 1:28The Christ has become a child of God, and everyone who loves the
- 1:33father, loves his children to. We know, we love God's children.
- 1:38If we love God and obey his Commandments, loving God means
- 1:43keeping his Commandments and his Commandments are not burdensome
- 1:47for every child of, God, defeats this evil world.
- 1:51And we achieve this Victory through our faith and who can
- 1:55win this battle. Against the world.
- 1:58Only those who believe that Jesus is the son of God.
- 2:03And Jesus Christ was revealed as God's son, by his baptism in
- 2:07water and by shedding his blood on the cross.
- 2:11Not by water, only, but by water and blood and the spirit who is
- 2:17truth confirms it with his testimony.
- 2:21So we have these three Witnesses, the spirit the water
- 2:26The blood and all three agree. Since we believe human
- 2:30testimony, surely, we can believe the greater testimony
- 2:34that comes from God. And God has testified about his
- 2:38son all, who believe in the Son of God know in their heart that
- 2:43this testimony is true. Those who don't believe this are
- 2:48actually calling God a liar because they don't believe what
- 2:51God has testified about his son. And this is what God has
- 2:56testified. He has given us eternal life,
- 3:01and this life is in his son. Whoever has the son has life,
- 3:07whoever does not have God, son does not have life.
- 3:12I've written this to you who believe in the name of the son
- 3:15of God so that you may know you have eternal life and we are
- 3:21confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything
- 3:25that pleases him. And since we know he hears us
- 3:29when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us
- 3:33what we asked for If you see a fellow believer sinning in a way
- 3:38that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give
- 3:42that person life, but there is a sin that leads to death.
- 3:47And I'm not saying you should pray for those who committed,
- 3:51all Wicked actions are sin, but not every sin leads to death.
- 3:56We know that God's children do not make a practice of sinning
- 4:00for godson. Holds them securely and the evil
- 4:04one. Cannot touch them.
- 4:07We know that we are children of God and that the world around us
- 4:11is under the control of the evil one.
- 4:14And we know that the Son of God has come and he is given us
- 4:17understanding so that we can know the true God.
- 4:22And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we
- 4:26live in fellowship with his son, Jesus Christ.
- 4:30He is the only true God and he is eternal life.
- 4:36Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's
- 4:40place in your hearts. Jesus.
- 4:54Thank you that you hold us secure and the evil one cannot
- 4:59touch us because we are covered in baptismal water and in the
- 5:06blood of your sacrifice and with the indwelling of the Holy
- 5:10Spirit, those three things that John writes about and the evil
- 5:14one can not touch us. And when the world seems evil
- 5:22and is reaching its tendrils toward us, help us to stand
- 5:27firm. Knowing that we are yours.
- 5:29And we stand on the solid rock of you, our God, and Our
- 5:34Redeemer. Keep us firm in that Faith.
- 5:40Keep us confidence in your Providence.
- 5:44Over anything, that might be thrown at us.
- 5:47So that in the end we can return to you and in your present,
- 5:52senior Praises forever and a day, we love you.
- 5:56And we pray all this in your name, Jesus.
- 5:59Amen.
