- 0:02If you have a healing business,
- 0:05your willingness to evolve is a huge part of what makes your business
- 0:10successful.
- 0:20Hello and welcome back to Remember Why You're Here,
- 0:24a podcast for seekers and sensitives where you can relax, receive,
- 0:27reconnect yourself, and remember that most important thing of all,
- 0:31why you're here. In today's episode,
- 0:37I actually wanted to revisit,
- 0:38I think this might be the most popular thing I ever posted on
- 0:43YouTube, this video called Three Tips to Start Your Healing Business.
- 0:48And I specifically wanted to revisit it because I'm in a very
- 0:53transitional phase right now with my business.
- 0:56I am leaving some models or ways of being
- 1:01behind. I'm embracing new ones.
- 1:03I am working specifically right now on an offering
- 1:08that will mean stepping back into one-on-one work. And oh my gosh,
- 1:12people have been asking me to do one-on-work now again for years.
- 1:16And so I know there are going to be folks who are really excited about this.
- 1:19And I was curious because I haven't done one-on-one work since my
- 1:24daughter was born. Since before my daughter was born,
- 1:27I transitioned out of that and into just a different phase of my life and my
- 1:30work, but I've really gotten a strong message to step back into that work.
- 1:35So I'll be sharing more about that in a couple weeks.
- 1:37But I was curious to go back when I was at the height of
- 1:42doing so much of my one-on-one work. I was doing herbal consultations,
- 1:46I was doing intuitive readings,
- 1:48I was doing business consultations called Vibrant Livelihoods Consultations.
- 1:53And I was curious to see at that point in time by evolution,
- 1:58what were these three tips that I talked about?
- 2:00So I re-listened to this and it really felt like a transmission
- 2:05from my younger self. I was like, thank you, younger self.
- 2:07I really needed to remember these three tips as I start making
- 2:12some moves to step back into a one-on-one offering.
- 2:17And I will be announcing that later this month or early next month.
- 2:21So stay tuned for that. But in the meantime, I'm like, okay, Asia,
- 2:26Asia of the past, you knew what you were talking about.
- 2:28And I see why this video has whatever it has,
- 2:31like 50,000 views on YouTube.
- 2:34So if you are someone who has a healing business or
- 2:39wants to start a healing business,
- 2:42these are the three tips that I was using when I was doing
- 2:47one-on-one work. I also had my apothecary, I was also teaching.
- 2:51So this applies to really any kind of healing business where you are
- 2:56working intimately with people. And it was really healing.
- 3:00It felt like a bit of a soul retrieval, to be honest with you,
- 3:03for me to listen to this, which is right on theme with us this month,
- 3:07as I talked about in the August intuitive reading for this month.
- 3:09This a month of kind of spontaneous soul retrievals and soul reunions and me
- 3:14reconnecting with this little bit younger self.
- 3:18I forget when I filmed this, maybe it was eight years ago, something like that.
- 3:23And realizing how much she knew felt like a soul retrieval.
- 3:27So I'm bringing her in as I am really envisioning this new era for me.
- 3:31So without further ado,
- 3:33let's step into these three tips to start your healing business.
- 3:38One offering in my consultation practice is a vibrant livelihoods consultation,
- 3:43which is basically sitting with other people who are looking to start a healing
- 3:48business and helping them to navigate how to get started,
- 3:52what tips or tools you might need along the way.
- 3:55It's been really cool to work with so many different new business owners.
- 4:00And I've noticed along the way some common patterns and common questions.
- 4:05And these are my three unconventional tips for starting a healing business.
- 4:11Number one is teach or offer what you want to learn.
- 4:16So this is pretty unconventional because most of the time you're going to hear
- 4:20teach or write about what you know.
- 4:22But what I've found to be true is that my most vivid and exciting
- 4:27material comes from teaching or offering something.
- 4:30I am deeply passionate about learning. Our learning,
- 4:35our desires,
- 4:36our curiosity are really leading us always towards the leading edge of our path.
- 4:41And I often find that the stuff that I've been teaching or working with for
- 4:45years starts to lose some of its vim and vigor over time.
- 4:50The way in which I develop my teaching schedule is totally based
- 4:55on what I'm looking to explore for myself at this time.
- 4:59What feels most exciting for me, what's really invoking my curiosity.
- 5:04So this isn't to say that I go into teaching something completely unprepared,
- 5:09but it is to say that I put something on the schedule knowing that I will have X
- 5:13amount of months or sometimes even years to delve into this topic.
- 5:17And what it really does is it sets up a regime for me to go deeply into
- 5:22learning about this.
- 5:24And ultimately when I am then presenting this offer, this class,
- 5:29I am so fully in the motion of it and I'm so fully in my passion.
- 5:33People can really feel that.
- 5:35And it does a lot to bring others into that passionate moment of exploring
- 5:40what is really at the cutting edge of your interest.
- 5:44Number two is give 50%.
- 5:48So some of you are probably going like, "What now?
- 5:50That sounds crazy." Because we hear so often on all the motivational posters,
- 5:55give 100%.
- 5:57I'm not saying to not give your all to your healing business,
- 6:01but what I've found is it's actually really important to give
- 6:0550%, to have your heart and soul going into building your business,
- 6:10of course,
- 6:10but also to have things that have nothing to do with your business going on in
- 6:14your life, personal pursuits, interests, curiosities.
- 6:18And this includes downtime,
- 6:20having time for deep self-care and nourishment.
- 6:24Your business will dry out without this time of taking moments to
- 6:28refill the well. So when I say give 50%, I'm being a little bit cheeky here,
- 6:33but what I'm really talking about is this work-life balance. It's so important.
- 6:38And really reserving some things for just yourself.
- 6:41Because if every single thing in your life is always feeding directly into your
- 6:45business, it's going to start feeling like business is your life.
- 6:49And unless you're super passionate about being an entrepreneur,
- 6:53that's going to get you tired after a while.
- 6:55So reserving some things just for you and taking time for self-care,
- 6:59so important.
- 7:00It's also important to give 50% when you're teaching or in
- 7:05consultation work. So hear me out here.
- 7:08One thing that I see as a common pitfall,
- 7:11especially people who are really empathic or bighearted, is over-giving.
- 7:16Maybe giving too much information, too many protocols,
- 7:21being too available to jump right in with the answer.
- 7:25When we give quote unquote 50%,
- 7:28what we're really doing is leaving space for the student or the client to meet
- 7:33us. In any healing practice,
- 7:37you need to have two parties. Any healing is about relationship,
- 7:42right?
- 7:42So it's both you as a practitioner or a teacher and the person who's
- 7:47coming in for healing.
- 7:49You need to leave them space to actually take ownership of their healing.
- 7:53And if you jump right in with every answer or every ability to do everything for
- 7:58them, they're not going to have that space to come in and really own that.
- 8:01So sometimes it's good to sit back and really allow them to come up with the
- 8:06answer,
- 8:06allow them to try figuring out that protocol of medicine making or whatever it
- 8:11is. So again, this is kind of a funny way to say it, but really ask yourself,
- 8:16am I leaving this 50% space for myself and my journey and also for the
- 8:21journey of those that I'm working with?
- 8:24This leads us directly into the third point,
- 8:27which is get out of the way. Okay,
- 8:31so I'm not saying to check out at all. And in fact,
- 8:34when I'm working with people or I'm teaching, I am so fully there.
- 8:38I often forget about everything else going on in my life.
- 8:42But every time before I teach or I sit down in consultation,
- 8:46I prepare by asking to be a vessel.
- 8:51Ultimately,
- 8:53the healing that I'm channeling or the wisdom or the knowing that I'm channeling
- 8:57is coming in from a wider source.
- 8:59Whether you think of that as you are unconscious, your wider self,
- 9:03or a personal divine that you're connected into,
- 9:06ultimately you are channeling and bringing in this information and this
- 9:11healing for others.
- 9:12So one thing that I like to repeat as a mantra to myself before I see a client
- 9:17is I'm a hollow bone. I am a hollow bone.
- 9:21I'm a hollow bone.
- 9:23And really what this is doing is taking your ego out of the equation.
- 9:27This is particularly helpful because it helps you to start letting go of
- 9:31expectations that this session will go a particular way,
- 9:35that you'll have particular insight to give,
- 9:38because ultimately we never know how a session is going to go or a class is
- 9:42going to go. But what we can do is get our conscious mind, our ego,
- 9:47our attachment to things out of the way and just be a channel for all that
- 9:51goodness to come through. And ultimately to me,
- 9:55this feels so healing and supportive to know that it's not just me and my little
- 10:00mind and my rational ability to figure everything out,
- 10:03that there is a greater force at work here,
- 10:06and I am open to just being a part of it.
- 10:11I'm so curious, how did those tips land with you?
- 10:15What was your aha moment?
- 10:18Is there any of these tips that were new or different from you?
- 10:22I will say that when I posted this,
- 10:26I looked back at the comments of which I think there are hundreds,
- 10:31but I looked back at the comments and one of the biggest ones that came up again
- 10:34and again is the give 50%. People really resonated with that.
- 10:39And I will say when that came to me,
- 10:43that was a missing piece for me. I really needed to hear that.
- 10:46And I honestly really needed to hear that again as I am stepping
- 10:51into this new iteration of my own healing business.
- 10:54And this is just one of these things about life and about your
- 10:59work and about your business is the longer you're at it,
- 11:02the more you will notice that you go through these different phases of
- 11:06evolution. You're never static. You never stay the same.
- 11:09So this is my 14th year of being in business.
- 11:13And so I'm really witnessing myself now enter
- 11:18a new era, take a leap into a new era of being,
- 11:23of sharing, of what platforms I'm on,
- 11:25of the kind of things I want to talk about,
- 11:28the layers of myself that I want to share that maybe I wasn't ready to share
- 11:33before. And I just think it's one of the coolest things of existence,
- 11:36to be totally honest with you, that we continue to evolve in this way.
- 11:40And if you have a healing business,
- 11:43your willingness to evolve out loud in this way is a huge part
- 11:48of what makes your business successful.
- 11:51So if part of what you are working on in this
- 11:56year of what you're building this month is a business,
- 11:59I hope these tips were helpful. I would love to hear about what landed for you.
- 12:04You could head over to the Substack, my Substack, remember why you're here,
- 12:08and leave a message.
- 12:09Or you could leave me a message over on my website or you could leave me a voice
- 12:12note over at asiasolar.com/remember.
- 12:16It's always so fun to get your voice notes.
- 12:19And I just love hearing about what clicks for you because all of us here are
- 12:24really a part of one soul collective here to help each other,
- 12:28here to support each other in growth.
- 12:31And hearing from y'all about what lands for you just really helps orient me
- 12:36as well. So thank you so much for being here. Thank you for all the love,
- 12:40passion, energy you pour into this world. It really is such a gift.
- 12:44Your presence, your creativity in this world is such a gift.
- 12:48And as you build whatever it is that you're turning your heart
- 12:53towards this month and this year,
- 12:55may it reflect back to you your own bigness,
- 12:59your own depth,
- 13:01and may it help you remember that most important thing of all,
- 13:05why you're here.
