- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's the almost famous OG podcast with your OG, Bob Guiney.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Here, Hi everybody.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Today, I am checking in with a fellow podcast host,
- 0:13Speaker 2: somebody who has built an empire for herself.
- 0:18Speaker 3: I think she's done a really excellent job of.
- 0:19Speaker 2: It and definitely has a lot of very key and
- 0:24Speaker 2: monumental interviews in her past and I'm sure in her
- 0:28Speaker 2: future as well. We are joined today by Stephanie Parker
- 0:32Speaker 2: of She's All Batch, so let's bring her in.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Hey, how are you well? I'm better now. How are
- 0:40Speaker 3: you doing?
- 0:41Speaker 1: I'm doing so good. It's so nice to meet you, big.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Fans, I know officially right, it's crazy that we've never
- 0:48Speaker 2: actually talked before.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I know, it's a long time coming. I'm excited.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I am too. Well.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Welcome to the show. Thank you so much for joining us.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I appreciate it. I was just saying in your intro
- 0:59Speaker 2: that you know, you have built an empire for yourself.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I mean you kind of did it. You did it
- 1:04Speaker 2: all on your own, too, which I think is pretty awesome.
- 1:07Speaker 2: You got to feel pretty proud of that.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Thank you so much. Yeah, I mean I I used
- 1:11Speaker 4: to I want to give. I used to have a
- 1:13Speaker 4: podcast partner that I worked with as well. We built
- 1:15Speaker 4: the podcast. But yeah, she's all batched before the podcast too.
- 1:19Speaker 1: It's been a long time. Yeah, I'm sure proud of it. Excited.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Well, obviously it's it's around the Bachelor, which you know
- 1:27Speaker 2: has been and I'm sure around many other things as well.
- 1:30Speaker 2: But it's been a long time since the fresh season
- 1:33Speaker 2: of the Bachelor has been on. So I know you've
- 1:36Speaker 2: also had a little bit of drama in your life
- 1:38Speaker 2: with you know, a letter that you read live on
- 1:41Speaker 2: the air one day.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Tell me a little bit about that.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I had my run ins back in the day, so
- 1:45Speaker 2: I get it.
- 1:46Speaker 4: So Ever, since I put out that episode, I realized
- 1:49Speaker 4: that I just joined the club of a lot of
- 1:52Speaker 4: other people who.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Have been in the exact same situation.
- 1:55Speaker 4: I think for me, the major difference is I never anything.
- 2:00Speaker 4: I don't I've never seen the contract. I don't know
- 2:03Speaker 4: what it even says, so for me to get one,
- 2:05Speaker 4: it just felt like they were trying. I have to
- 2:10Speaker 4: be careful about what I say because I know they listen.
- 2:12Speaker 3: They're like, yeah, hey.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Guys, if you're listening.
- 2:17Speaker 2: To me.
- 2:18Speaker 4: When I first read it, I quickly skimmed it, and
- 2:20Speaker 4: I'm like, let me get to the bottom, like, get
- 2:22Speaker 4: to the where's the punchline? What's the conclusion here? And
- 2:24Speaker 4: I thought it was going to be like you are
- 2:26Speaker 4: being sued for X amount. I didn't know what was
- 2:28Speaker 4: going to say. But literally, just to wrap up summarizing
- 2:32Speaker 4: is contestants have contracts forever and yeah, make sure you
- 2:39Speaker 4: uh tread lightly kind of like something like that.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that perpetuity word comes up a lot in those
- 2:45Speaker 2: old contracts as I recall.
- 2:47Speaker 4: But you know what, Bob, if I've been doing the
- 2:51Speaker 4: podcast specifically for almost five years now, where have they been?
- 2:55Speaker 4: And I know and I know they know about me
- 2:57Speaker 4: because there was a long period of time where people
- 2:59Speaker 4: were allowed to come on my show until they were
- 3:02Speaker 4: out of contract, So like where were you for.
- 3:05Speaker 1: The first four five years?
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I wonder if it's a little bit
- 3:11Speaker 2: of the uh the tailor Frankie Paul effect, you know,
- 3:13Speaker 2: like all of a sudden, it's let's squeeze a little
- 3:16Speaker 2: tighter and keep a little tighter control of the ship here,
- 3:18Speaker 2: because you know otherwise, I mean the wheels legit came
- 3:22Speaker 2: off this past year, so I mean it's it's been
- 3:25Speaker 2: uh you know, kind of a just a like the
- 3:28Speaker 2: Titanic basically, you know, and it's sort of like, come on,
- 3:31Speaker 2: we all love the show.
- 3:32Speaker 3: I mean, you know, I got sued many years ago.
- 3:34Speaker 3: I still love the show. You you now have been sued.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Uh, you know, we don't have to get too into
- 3:40Speaker 2: the details. But yeah, it was a it was an
- 3:42Speaker 2: ugly time, you know, many many years ago, now twenty
- 3:44Speaker 2: over twenty years ago. I think I might have been
- 3:46Speaker 2: the first one on the chopping block for that stuff.
- 3:48Speaker 2: But I won the right not to uh not to
- 3:52Speaker 2: have to be sued. How about that?
- 3:54Speaker 4: Oh I heard you. I heard you say that. I'm like,
- 3:56Speaker 4: you won the right to not be sued.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Okay, whatever that happens. The inner viewer in me wants
- 4:01Speaker 1: to prive for more.
- 4:02Speaker 4: And this is what ABC doesn't like about me, is
- 4:04Speaker 4: that I try to get stuff.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Out of people.
- 4:06Speaker 4: But I'm just inquisitive. I'm curious. Well, can you tell me.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Was it during your when you were on the show
- 4:13Speaker 4: or was it.
- 4:14Speaker 2: No, No, it was after my season raft but very
- 4:16Speaker 2: shortly thereafter.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Actually, oh so you were still like the person.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I was still the person.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was it was more about, you know,
- 4:24Speaker 2: basically because of I had continued doing what I had
- 4:27Speaker 2: done before, which was why they knew who I was
- 4:29Speaker 2: and put me on the show anyway, and they wanted
- 4:31Speaker 2: to be able to control how I did that. That's
- 4:33Speaker 2: basically what it was. And it was, you know, it
- 4:35Speaker 2: was basically just found that that that they couldn't They didn't.
- 4:39Speaker 3: They didn't.
- 4:40Speaker 2: The way that it was how do I phrase this properly,
- 4:45Speaker 2: The way that it was determined was that they did
- 4:47Speaker 2: not have the authority to do that at that time.
- 4:50Speaker 2: So given the fact that I had done that, it'd
- 4:52Speaker 2: be like, if you're you know, you're a podcaster, right,
- 4:53Speaker 2: so now you go on the show and you go
- 4:57Speaker 2: all the way through it and now you go back
- 4:58Speaker 2: to podcasting. They're like, hold on, you can't do that,
- 5:00Speaker 2: and be like, no, that's kind of what I do.
- 5:02Speaker 2: That's why you had me on the show in the
- 5:03Speaker 2: first place. I was a musician, which is why they
- 5:05Speaker 2: had me on the show. I went back to being
- 5:07Speaker 2: a musician and they're like, you can't promote your music,
- 5:09Speaker 2: Like what, how's that?
- 5:10Speaker 3: You know?
- 5:11Speaker 2: So it was kind of a that kind of a thing. So, yeah,
- 5:13Speaker 2: it's a long story twenty years ago. Nobody cares. What
- 5:17Speaker 2: I'm more concerned about is do you have a moment
- 5:21Speaker 2: that you think was the trigger for you getting that letter? Like,
- 5:25Speaker 2: if you're thinking back of all your interviews that you've done,
- 5:27Speaker 2: was there like one moment you're like, oh my god,
- 5:28Speaker 2: I should not have asked that question.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Oh, it's never not asked the question. Always ask the question.
- 5:35Speaker 4: They could say no and right, it's totally I always
- 5:39Speaker 4: tell my guests like, you're in the driver's seat. I
- 5:41Speaker 4: The last thing I want to do is get anyone
- 5:43Speaker 4: in trouble or make someone uncomfortable, like I want people
- 5:47Speaker 4: to enjoy coming on my show, and tell a friend
- 5:50Speaker 4: like I don't want people to be like she made
- 5:52Speaker 4: me so uncomfortable asking me these questions?
- 5:54Speaker 1: So what okay a trigger for them? Why?
- 5:58Speaker 4: I think it came out of nowhere After almost five years,
- 6:02Speaker 4: I had a few interviews in a row of people
- 6:06Speaker 4: who definitely don't speak highly of the franchise.
- 6:11Speaker 1: People that either got a bad edit.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Well, I mean it's out there, so I could just say,
- 6:15Speaker 4: like Sam McKinney, he was the villain on Gen season.
- 6:19Speaker 4: He was silenced for a long period of time, and
- 6:22Speaker 4: he wanted to speak, Zoe McGrady wanted to speak.
- 6:25Speaker 1: They all like have things.
- 6:28Speaker 4: They all feel a certain way about how they were
- 6:30Speaker 4: either portrayed on the show or not. Like seeing their
- 6:34Speaker 4: fellow cast members go off to come on Almost Famous
- 6:38Speaker 4: or to come on a Bachelor Happy Hour or any
- 6:40Speaker 4: of the other podcasts, and they're not allowed to and
- 6:44Speaker 4: they're like itching to share their side of the story,
- 6:47Speaker 4: and by the time they get to me.
- 6:48Speaker 1: They're like, look, I have so much to say, And
- 6:52Speaker 1: I think that pisses them off.
- 6:53Speaker 4: But I don't get why ABC doesn't embrace it like
- 6:57Speaker 4: internet drama keeps the show going.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I just don't understand it.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I wonder though, you know a lot of times
- 7:06Speaker 2: it's probably and I mean, you would know better who
- 7:09Speaker 2: your letter was from. But what I've found is a
- 7:11Speaker 2: lot of times it's actually not ABC. It's actually the
- 7:15Speaker 2: production company behind the show, right who? And so I
- 7:18Speaker 2: often think of that because I think, you know, it
- 7:22Speaker 2: does create that kind of feeling where you're like, man,
- 7:24Speaker 2: the Real Housewives, they're just like, go crazy, ladies, you know,
- 7:27Speaker 2: build that drama. And it's like those shows have become
- 7:30Speaker 2: such staples and you know, a lot of it I
- 7:33Speaker 2: think has to do and you and I'm loving to
- 7:35Speaker 2: hear your opinion on this too, but a lot of
- 7:37Speaker 2: it has to do, I'm sure, with the way they
- 7:40Speaker 2: release the show and distribute the show. Right, So it's
- 7:43Speaker 2: you know, the when they when they're on the Bravo,
- 7:45Speaker 2: the Bravo Celebrity, the Bravo Liberty or whatever they call it.
- 7:48Speaker 2: When they're doing all that stuff, you know, it's basically like,
- 7:51Speaker 2: let's go, you know, push push, push, and you're everywhere
- 7:53Speaker 2: and we're not gonna control what you say and have fun.
- 7:57Speaker 2: And I think that does create celebrities, and that's probably
- 8:00Speaker 2: part of it. I think maybe the powers that be
- 8:03Speaker 2: at this point aren't wanting the people to come on
- 8:05Speaker 2: the show to turn into celebrities, and they reluctantly accept
- 8:09Speaker 2: the fact that these people become household names to a
- 8:11Speaker 2: certain degree.
- 8:12Speaker 3: I mean, what are your thoughts on that?
- 8:14Speaker 4: Well, that's that's interesting because that topic came up after
- 8:17Speaker 4: I shared the legal letter, people started coming to me
- 8:20Speaker 4: and saying, I mean, I just had carin Olympios on
- 8:23Speaker 4: my show and she said this topic came up about
- 8:27Speaker 4: how the franchise doesn't really love how people then become
- 8:31Speaker 4: famous after the show, and what I said in response
- 8:34Speaker 4: to that was, well, it doesn't matter what they go
- 8:38Speaker 4: off to do, they're still they're tied to the franchise.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Like you think of Ashley I, she's gone on to
- 8:43Speaker 4: do amazing things and she is incredible, but she's from
- 8:45Speaker 4: The Bachelor and those are her roots and there's nothing
- 8:48Speaker 4: wrong with that. So I don't get why The Bachelor
- 8:50Speaker 4: can't just say, like, yeah, go off and be the
- 8:52Speaker 4: biggest star in the world.
- 8:55Speaker 1: It looks good on us. It's like when a teacher
- 8:57Speaker 1: has a star student stood on the teacher. I don't
- 9:01Speaker 1: get it.
- 9:02Speaker 3: I know, I agree with you.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I think it's really interesting. It's like you almost have
- 9:07Speaker 2: to if you can't beat them, join them type of thing.
- 9:09Speaker 2: And I think they're still in the let's beat them process, right,
- 9:13Speaker 2: And it's like, man, you're kind of hanging on to
- 9:15Speaker 2: something that's getting really slippery, and you know, you want
- 9:18Speaker 2: better people to put their names in the ring, and
- 9:21Speaker 2: you want people who are you know, gonna I mean,
- 9:23Speaker 2: I mean this show is still relevant, although I think
- 9:26Speaker 2: a lot of people are talking lately about how it's
- 9:28Speaker 2: lost so much relevance.
- 9:29Speaker 3: And I'm curious about your thoughts on that, and.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Then what you think we could do to to write
- 9:34Speaker 2: that ship, like to get it to a point where
- 9:36Speaker 2: maybe it is, you know, destination viewing for people again.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Oh gosh, I want them to. I think they should
- 9:43Speaker 4: hire me. I feel like I can give them a
- 9:45Speaker 4: lot of pointers. I think is it relevant to answer
- 9:50Speaker 4: your first question? No, I don't think it's relevant today.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Does that mean they can't turn it around? I think
- 9:56Speaker 4: they could turn it around. I think they had like
- 10:01Speaker 4: a blueprint of what the show was in two thousand
- 10:03Speaker 4: and two and they have not updated it in how
- 10:06Speaker 4: many years? I mean, I just covered on my last
- 10:09Speaker 4: episode my thoughts on Let's marry Harry, and I didn't
- 10:12Speaker 4: think that was the most groundbreaking television either, but it was.
- 10:15Speaker 4: There was a lot of similarities to The Bachelor, and
- 10:18Speaker 4: I said, they took the Bachelor blueprint.
- 10:21Speaker 1: But made it modern and made it better.
- 10:24Speaker 4: And I just feel there's too many rules with The Bachelor.
- 10:28Speaker 4: For example, Harry sleeps in the house with all the women.
- 10:32Speaker 1: There's no you.
- 10:33Speaker 4: It's not like if you don't get a date with Harry,
- 10:35Speaker 4: you can only see him for ten minutes at a
- 10:36Speaker 4: cocktail party, like he's waken up in his pajamas coming
- 10:39Speaker 4: down for breakfast with the girls and they're taking showers
- 10:42Speaker 4: with him. Like there's so much more room for drama
- 10:46Speaker 4: if they chill out a little bit on the rules, right,
- 10:50Speaker 4: And I don't know, just remember that it's twenty twenty
- 10:53Speaker 4: six and people do have platforms.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Regardless of what you do.
- 10:58Speaker 4: They're gonna get their store out there, whether you silence
- 11:02Speaker 4: them and forbid them to go on podcasts, because then
- 11:04Speaker 4: they'll just make a TikTok about it.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Like this, right right, yeah, the rules?
- 11:09Speaker 2: Right? Yes. We covered that show with Deana Pappas, and
- 11:13Speaker 2: I often when I would listen to it, I kept wondering, like,
- 11:15Speaker 2: I wonder if it's the Disney synergy, right, So, like
- 11:19Speaker 2: because it's still got that ABC Disney stamp on it,
- 11:23Speaker 2: that they want to keep it as wholesome as they can.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Right.
- 11:26Speaker 2: So that's why the Caren thing was such a catastrophe,
- 11:29Speaker 2: And that's why all this kind of other stuff seems
- 11:31Speaker 2: like so out of the you know, out of the
- 11:33Speaker 2: ethos of what should be a lot on the Bacheler
- 11:35Speaker 2: When you know, then you get like Love Island just
- 11:37Speaker 2: exploding all over the ratings and it's like you know,
- 11:40Speaker 2: it's the complete opposite of how you know, the franchise
- 11:45Speaker 2: is run.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 11:46Speaker 2: I'd love to see it remain relevant. I'd love to
- 11:48Speaker 2: see it still have success.
- 11:49Speaker 3: You know.
- 11:49Speaker 2: It's it's interesting when you kind of look back on it,
- 11:52Speaker 2: because of course I was in the very early years.
- 11:54Speaker 2: You know, it was on Trista's season, and then right
- 11:56Speaker 2: after that I was the Bachelor, and it was such
- 11:59Speaker 2: a different time. Yeah, like there was there was no
- 12:02Speaker 2: improv right, there was not. And I don't mean that
- 12:04Speaker 2: from the standpoint of like, you know, I mean, they
- 12:07Speaker 2: didn't tell me what to say ever, first and foremost.
- 12:09Speaker 2: But when people always ask me, like it was it scripted,
- 12:12Speaker 2: I'm like, no, it was not. Now, the stuff that
- 12:16Speaker 2: we did, I had nothing to do with that, right,
- 12:18Speaker 2: It wasn't like, you know, we're on a horseback ride
- 12:20Speaker 2: going down the beach.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I didn't plan that. But if you're tender like it,
- 12:22Speaker 3: well yeah, But I always think.
- 12:24Speaker 2: It's funny because now I feel like there's so much
- 12:27Speaker 2: more flexibility to the show, like, oh, you you can
- 12:29Speaker 2: come back, Like you have so many episodes where people
- 12:31Speaker 2: come back who were sent home early, and that couldn't
- 12:34Speaker 2: have happened during my season if your life depended on.
- 12:36Speaker 4: It, that happened on like Paradise once. When are they
- 12:39Speaker 4: bringing people back?
- 12:40Speaker 2: Well, you know, like they have like the Golden Rose,
- 12:42Speaker 2: like oh I forgot I wish I would have not
- 12:45Speaker 2: sent this person home, and they bring her back or whatever.
- 12:47Speaker 3: It might be, like they earned something like oh, I
- 12:49Speaker 3: don't know, I have no idea of specific you'd probably
- 12:51Speaker 3: know better than I do.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I do.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I have two off the top of my head.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Well, Ashley I in Paradise, she gets sent home because
- 12:57Speaker 4: like she did, no one picked her, and I know
- 13:00Speaker 4: that producers are probably like, we can't have Ashley I
- 13:03Speaker 4: go home.
- 13:04Speaker 1: We need her back. So she she asks the group.
- 13:07Speaker 4: For another chance, and they allow her obviously because they
- 13:09Speaker 4: need her back. And then Chris souls, why do I
- 13:12Speaker 4: have this in my memory at all?
- 13:13Speaker 3: You're amazing. There's like such a such a sponge. I
- 13:16Speaker 3: love it.
- 13:17Speaker 1: It really is so pathetic. And then Chris it was
- 13:20Speaker 1: night one.
- 13:21Speaker 4: He sent some girl home and then she comes back
- 13:25Speaker 4: in and asks for another chance, and he gives it
- 13:27Speaker 4: to her, only to send her home the next time
- 13:30Speaker 4: like the second row.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Cermon, how crazy was that? Yeah?
- 13:33Speaker 1: Those are two I can think of.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I definitely, yeah, I think there was another. Maybe it
- 13:37Speaker 2: was before when did you start covering the show? Like
- 13:39Speaker 2: what what season was your first season?
- 13:40Speaker 4: Well, that's the thing I didn't want. I didn't watch
- 13:42Speaker 4: your season. Sorry, I was a little I was a
- 13:46Speaker 4: little young back then, like probably Brad walmack on either
- 13:52Speaker 4: after second and.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Then how many years there after?
- 13:55Speaker 1: Everything after?
- 13:55Speaker 3: And then how many years there after did you start
- 13:57Speaker 3: your podcast after one? Oh?
- 13:59Speaker 4: So well, I mean I started She's All Batch on
- 14:01Speaker 4: social media in twenty eighteen, and then I started the
- 14:04Speaker 4: podcast in twenty twenty one, so recent.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Yeah, kind of.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Let's get back to this.
- 14:19Speaker 2: I want to know, like, what do you think other than,
- 14:21Speaker 2: you know, other than obviously letting people go out and
- 14:23Speaker 2: speak about the show, what do you think could make
- 14:26Speaker 2: the show more relevant from the standpoint and loosening up
- 14:28Speaker 2: the rules a little bit?
- 14:29Speaker 3: Like do you think the way its distributed makes a difference?
- 14:31Speaker 2: You know, because right now everything's on streaming and it's
- 14:33Speaker 2: like you can watch so many episodes at once, whereas
- 14:36Speaker 2: Bachelor's still in real time or not real time, but
- 14:39Speaker 2: obviously it's it's you know, an episode a week type
- 14:42Speaker 2: of thing.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Two hour long episode usually good.
- 14:45Speaker 4: I mean the length and how much they milk it
- 14:49Speaker 4: that definitely gets frustrating to the viewer.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I do think the whole streaming thing could.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Help, like be modern and release the whole season, or
- 14:58Speaker 4: at least release like what love a blind does? They
- 15:01Speaker 4: release what six episodes, then another three then the reunion,
- 15:05Speaker 4: Like you could still make them wait a little bit,
- 15:07Speaker 4: but give us something to binge. People want to binge.
- 15:10Speaker 4: I don't think the episodes need to be a movie
- 15:13Speaker 4: and a half. I think that's insane, especially when if
- 15:16Speaker 4: you're gonna make it a three hour finale or reunion
- 15:20Speaker 4: or whatever it is, fill it with juicy stuff. Don't
- 15:24Speaker 4: make twenty minutes of let's rewatch everything we already saw that.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Like they are just they have these staples.
- 15:31Speaker 4: In their finales and their reunions that they do every
- 15:34Speaker 4: single time.
- 15:35Speaker 1: And I mean, thank god.
- 15:36Speaker 4: For DVR to be able to fast forward because I
- 15:39Speaker 4: don't need to, especially me when I would watch so
- 15:42Speaker 4: I could recap. I'm like, I don't need to see
- 15:44Speaker 4: what we've seen all season. I've recorded it already, like
- 15:47Speaker 4: it it's a waste of time. Like I think Bravo
- 15:52Speaker 4: does a really great job with their reunions. They film
- 15:56Speaker 4: for like all day long, and then they cut out
- 15:59Speaker 4: they leave in like the juiciest parts, and they cut.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Out all the fluff. I feel like Bachelor lives for fluff.
- 16:06Speaker 3: I was gonna say, it's almost like the opposite, right,
- 16:08Speaker 3: They almost like.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Keep the fluff and throw out the stuff that might
- 16:10Speaker 2: be offensive to someone, you know, And that's probably what
- 16:13Speaker 2: where the problem was. What if they aired the show
- 16:15Speaker 2: closer to when it was actually filmed, you know, like
- 16:17Speaker 2: when I was the Bachelor, for example, we wrapped filming
- 16:20Speaker 2: in July and then my final episode didn't even air
- 16:24Speaker 2: until December first, like Thanksgiving weekend or something like that.
- 16:29Speaker 3: So it was, it was it was a long while,
- 16:32Speaker 3: you know, And so part of me.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Sometimes wonders about that too, like, you know, because so
- 16:36Speaker 2: much now, like back then, nothing was spelling because there
- 16:39Speaker 2: was no social media. Now, so much can come out right, Oh,
- 16:42Speaker 2: we saw some, and so you know, it's kind of
- 16:43Speaker 2: almost like you know, creates spoiler opportunities for the finale,
- 16:47Speaker 2: and it makes it not as you know, top secret
- 16:50Speaker 2: as I'm sure they wanted it to be by design.
- 16:52Speaker 1: But allow for spoilers.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Allowed it gets people talking about the show. I mean,
- 16:57Speaker 4: I don't love you reality, Steve, but I don't like spoilers.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I like to be surprised.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Yeah, but people do obviously, so don't be such a
- 17:06Speaker 4: stickler about spoilers.
- 17:07Speaker 1: It gets people talking about the show.
- 17:09Speaker 4: When people think they see the couple and they have
- 17:12Speaker 4: a photo in the distance and they're trying to dissect
- 17:14Speaker 4: which final girl, it is like, that's only making interest
- 17:18Speaker 4: around your show. It's like they try to stop people
- 17:22Speaker 4: talking about their show.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I don't get it.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I you know, it is kind of weird.
- 17:28Speaker 2: What if they got rid of the grand finale of
- 17:31Speaker 2: making the show end with a proposal. I sometimes wonder
- 17:35Speaker 2: if that's why, you know, I mean, because obviously the
- 17:37Speaker 2: knock on the on the show has always been you know,
- 17:39Speaker 2: oh well, so many couples don't make it right, And
- 17:42Speaker 2: I sometimes think, you know, man, I think it'd be
- 17:44Speaker 2: so interesting if making it wasn't necessarily a proposal, like
- 17:49Speaker 2: you know, you know what I mean, Like, for example,
- 17:51Speaker 2: like I came off of my season, I gave a
- 17:53Speaker 2: promise ring right, and yes, it did not eventually work out.
- 17:56Speaker 2: We were together for five months though, And it's so
- 17:59Speaker 2: funny because I'll go out and people be like, oh,
- 18:01Speaker 2: you broke up with Estella, like a week after the
- 18:02Speaker 2: show aired. I'm like, that was still five months after.
- 18:07Speaker 2: You know, we were dating for five months. So it's
- 18:09Speaker 2: interesting to me when that kind of stuff comes up,
- 18:12Speaker 2: and I sometimes wonder if the show would be more
- 18:14Speaker 2: successful without that pressure.
- 18:16Speaker 4: At the end, Well, question for you, would you have
- 18:19Speaker 4: given her a promise ring if everything you knew about
- 18:23Speaker 4: her at that point and it was off the show, Like,
- 18:25Speaker 4: if you knew everything you knew about her at that
- 18:27Speaker 4: point but it wasn't a show, yeah, and you had
- 18:30Speaker 4: to go by the promise ring yourself.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Would you have promised her anything?
- 18:34Speaker 2: No, I would have kept dating her, And that's the
- 18:36Speaker 2: thing that you know I would have.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I would have for sure kept dating her.
- 18:40Speaker 2: But no, there was so much pressure around that, and
- 18:42Speaker 2: I remember being terrified, you know, of the moment, like
- 18:46Speaker 2: just thinking, oh my god, I you know, I'm not
- 18:49Speaker 2: ready to propose, but I don't want to not date
- 18:51Speaker 2: her and I want to see where this can go.
- 18:53Speaker 2: And I was kind of on the front end of
- 18:56Speaker 2: that move and a lot of people thought it was
- 18:58Speaker 2: a cop out, but in fact it was. It was
- 19:01Speaker 2: my option right, like, I can give her this amazing ring,
- 19:03Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, you know, and it is a Harry
- 19:05Speaker 2: Winston ring. At the time, it was pretty spectacular, and
- 19:08Speaker 2: I'm like, I can give her one of these and
- 19:09Speaker 2: we can date. This is amazing, you know.
- 19:11Speaker 3: A Granted it didn't work, but you know, at the
- 19:13Speaker 3: end of the day, it.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Was still a pretty awesome ending to the show. I thought,
- 19:17Speaker 2: you know, I mean in retrospect. So yeah, who knows.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 19:21Speaker 2: It'll be interesting. Who do you think should be the
- 19:23Speaker 2: next Bachelor? I mean, we've heard some rumors that it's
- 19:26Speaker 2: going to be what spring of twenty twenty seven. I mean,
- 19:30Speaker 2: I'm wondering, do you have anybody in mind?
- 19:32Speaker 4: Well, you know about the the rumors that it's Taylor's
- 19:37Speaker 4: runner up.
- 19:38Speaker 3: I was going to ask you about that. What do
- 19:40Speaker 3: you think?
- 19:40Speaker 4: Look, I'm sure Taylor's runner up is a lovely man,
- 19:44Speaker 4: but this is another person we don't know. How are
- 19:48Speaker 4: with their given their history, how are they going to
- 19:52Speaker 4: get everyone to be invested in a person they don't know?
- 19:56Speaker 1: If we don't we haven't seen anything about him.
- 19:58Speaker 3: I don't.
- 19:59Speaker 4: I Oh, it's so frustrating because I think if you're
- 20:03Speaker 4: going to come back after everything that we went through
- 20:05Speaker 4: this past year, you better come back with a bang,
- 20:09Speaker 4: and you're going to come back with a guy we
- 20:10Speaker 4: don't know. That's super lame.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Do you think it would be the runner up?
- 20:26Speaker 2: Or do you think because I've heard rumors that it
- 20:28Speaker 2: might even be the winner of her season.
- 20:30Speaker 4: And that's a little different. I didn't know that I
- 20:32Speaker 4: would be.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I've heard, I've heard a couple of different angles on
- 20:35Speaker 2: this whole thing, so I'd be interested to see. But yeah,
- 20:37Speaker 2: you're right, like somebody maybe who you know, like Zach
- 20:40Speaker 2: Afron's brother who was on Dancing with the Stars, right,
- 20:43Speaker 2: or you know, it could be a.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Whole myriad of people that America knows already.
- 20:47Speaker 4: I wanted it to be Peter Webber for a long
- 20:49Speaker 4: long time, but now he has a girlfriend, so that's out.
- 20:53Speaker 2: You were kind of on the front end of that too,
- 20:56Speaker 2: of that big announcement, which I thought was pretty interesting.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I mean, with the whole can you interview the lady,
- 21:02Speaker 2: the producer that wrote the book and.
- 21:03Speaker 3: All that stuff?
- 21:04Speaker 2: Oh?
- 21:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I did.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Do you think that was the moment that may had
- 21:07Speaker 3: triggered the no.
- 21:08Speaker 4: I swear I don't because her like she's in good
- 21:11Speaker 4: standings with ABC and she's totally fine with ABC. And honestly,
- 21:16Speaker 4: she didn't really share much like I really tried, and
- 21:20Speaker 4: she was not. She wanted people to go read the book.
- 21:24Speaker 4: So yeah, I don't think I really think it was
- 21:27Speaker 4: the people that had bad blood maybe with ABC and not.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I don't think it was.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Truly Yeah, wow, who knows.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I mean, at the end of the day, you know,
- 21:38Speaker 2: it's kind of Look, I've always been more fascinated I
- 21:41Speaker 2: mean with the behind the scenes producer side of the
- 21:44Speaker 2: show that half the time, then you know what's going
- 21:47Speaker 2: on on the screen. So I find that to be
- 21:49Speaker 2: really interesting and I personally love that you cover that stuff.
- 21:52Speaker 2: So I think that's great, and you know, love what
- 21:54Speaker 2: you're doing and love the whole shooting match. So I'm
- 21:57Speaker 2: glad you're having fun with it and you're not going
- 21:58Speaker 2: to let anybody get in the way of you continuing
- 22:00Speaker 2: to do what you do.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Oh well, thank you so much.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:03Speaker 4: I mean, they basically were just saying, like, it wasn't
- 22:06Speaker 4: a season desist. I was listening to the conversation that
- 22:10Speaker 4: you had with my girl Courtney. Yes, so no, not
- 22:13Speaker 4: in any actual legal trouble.
- 22:16Speaker 1: It was just a.
- 22:19Speaker 4: In my opinion, it was a scare tactic. I think
- 22:23Speaker 4: they wanted to scare me. And I literally an hour
- 22:26Speaker 4: after receiving the letter, recorded another interview.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Because I'm like, well, so it didn't work.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I mean, what it did to me was piss me off.
- 22:36Speaker 4: And now it's like, you know what, if your ship's sinking,
- 22:40Speaker 4: I'll get off the ship. Then I don't have to
- 22:43Speaker 4: keep I mean, like, I cover what I like because
- 22:45Speaker 4: I want to be interested in what I do, but
- 22:48Speaker 4: I don't have to go out of my way to
- 22:51Speaker 4: promote your show anymore exactly.
- 22:52Speaker 2: And with all your I mean, you have so many
- 22:54Speaker 2: listeners and followers, it's like it's a pretty good thing
- 22:58Speaker 2: that you are doing that, right, because I think people
- 23:00Speaker 2: stay invested and people listen to you all the time.
- 23:02Speaker 2: And for those who don't, make sure you listen to
- 23:04Speaker 2: She's all batch. I think it's an awesome podcast. Stephanie
- 23:08Speaker 2: Parker of course, is at the tip of the spear
- 23:10Speaker 2: of getting things done over there. So thank you so
- 23:12Speaker 2: much for joining us, and thanks for making it fun.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I'm so glad I finally got to meet you and to.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Talk to you, so and I had that same.
- 23:20Speaker 2: You know, I had a fun experience with Reality Steve
- 23:21Speaker 2: a few years ago too, because I had never gotten
- 23:23Speaker 2: to talk to him.
- 23:24Speaker 3: It's how I got to talk to Steve. It was
- 23:25Speaker 3: fun too. Where when on his I think he had
- 23:28Speaker 3: me a for an interview for something. I can't remember
- 23:29Speaker 3: what you want?
- 23:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember that.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, that was a fun one. I actually hung up.
- 23:34Speaker 2: I'm like, God, I really.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Liked that guy.
- 23:36Speaker 1: He's a nice guy.
- 23:37Speaker 3: He is he is. Well, congratulations on all your success.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I love it, and I think it's great what you're
- 23:43Speaker 2: doing for the show and for the franchise. And I'm
- 23:45Speaker 2: sure that you know, if they don't want you, I'm
- 23:47Speaker 2: sure you can find another one to boost and take
- 23:50Speaker 2: care of us.
- 23:51Speaker 3: So, you know, I'm sure we'll hear you doing a
- 23:52Speaker 3: whole bunch of stuff in the meantime.
- 23:54Speaker 2: What's your plans for now to when the next one airs?
- 23:57Speaker 2: Are you still going to be digging into other show? Oh?
- 24:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I cover all Like now.
- 24:02Speaker 4: I for the past couple of years, I've really branched
- 24:05Speaker 4: out to just all pop culture, reality TV, whatever really
- 24:09Speaker 4: interests me. I love a lot of nostalgia. I love
- 24:12Speaker 4: going back to like old reality TV shows like Jersey
- 24:15Speaker 4: Shore and the stuff that I have a lot of
- 24:18Speaker 4: knowledge on, just like Bachelor, So I cover news in
- 24:22Speaker 4: that realm. So check out She's all bouch on any
- 24:26Speaker 4: social media or podcast platform. But yeah, I mean it's
- 24:30Speaker 4: never been that heavily based on the show. The show
- 24:33Speaker 4: would kind of help if it was airing, but yeah,
- 24:36Speaker 4: people like the drama outside the show, and that's what
- 24:39Speaker 4: I don't think they understand.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Right. Well, thank you so much, Stephanie.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Thanks for being on the show, Thanks for doing all
- 24:45Speaker 2: the things that you do, and for being such an
- 24:46Speaker 2: awesome vehicle forgetting the word out there on the good
- 24:49Speaker 2: stuff on TV. We appreciate it, and I'd love that
- 24:52Speaker 2: I got to talk to you and got.
- 24:53Speaker 3: To know you. So have a lovely rest of your day,
- 24:55Speaker 3: and thanks for joining me
- 24:56Speaker 1: You too, Bye Bob Bye.
