- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie. It's time for us to go
- 0:03Speaker 1: to God in prayer, and as always, I invite you
- 0:07Speaker 1: to join along with me in prayer. Every year during
- 0:10Speaker 1: the Saint Jude Radiothon, I think about parents having to
- 0:14Speaker 1: deal with their sick children, and ultimately some parents who
- 0:19Speaker 1: lose their children, and then even beyond same Jude, let's
- 0:23Speaker 1: pray about that, y'all, Heavenly Father. Today we come before
- 0:26Speaker 1: you carrying a grief that words struggle to hold the
- 0:29Speaker 1: loss of a child. Lord, you see the parents whose
- 0:32Speaker 1: hearts feel shattered in ways they never imagine possible. You
- 0:37Speaker 1: see the empty bedroom, the quiet spaces where laughter once live,
- 0:41Speaker 1: the dreams that now feel unfinished. You see the questions.
- 0:45Speaker 1: You see the tears that fall in private. You see
- 0:48Speaker 1: the ache that settles deep within their souls. Father, this
- 0:52Speaker 1: kind of loss feels unbearable. No parent expects to say
- 0:56Speaker 1: goodbye to their child. No heart is prepared for the
- 1:00Speaker 1: silence that follow such a profound absence. Lord, in this
- 1:04Speaker 1: sacred and painful place, we ask for your presence to
- 1:08Speaker 1: draw near, wrap these grieving parents in your arms of
- 1:11Speaker 1: comfort when the waves of sorrow crash over them without warning,
- 1:16Speaker 1: be their steady place to stand when the knights feel
- 1:19Speaker 1: long and the memories feel overwhelming, Gods around them with
- 1:23Speaker 1: your peace that passes understanding. When their hearts feel too
- 1:27Speaker 1: heavy to pray, God, hear the cries that words cannot express. Lord,
- 1:32Speaker 1: we also lift up the family members who grieve alongside them.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Be with the siblings God who missed their brother or
- 1:39Speaker 1: their sister. Comfort grandparents' uns, uncles, and loved ones whose
- 1:43Speaker 1: hearts are also broken. Help them support one another with
- 1:47Speaker 1: tenderness and patience and grace as they walk through this
- 1:50Speaker 1: valley together. Father, remind them that their child's life matter deeply.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Every smile, every life, every moment shared with pressure, and
- 2:00Speaker 1: it was meaningful. Though their time here may have felt
- 2:04Speaker 1: too short, their life was not without purpose. Lord, hold
- 2:08Speaker 1: the memories of this child like treasures in the hearts
- 2:12Speaker 1: of those who love them. Let those memories bring both
- 2:15Speaker 1: tears and gentle moments of warmth as time moves forward.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And Father, when grief whispers that the pain will never fease,
- 2:24Speaker 1: remind them that you are the God who walks with
- 2:28Speaker 1: us through the valley of the shadow of death. You
- 2:31Speaker 1: do not rush our healing, but you remain with us
- 2:33Speaker 1: in every step of the journey. God, give these fear
- 2:36Speaker 1: and strength for each new day, not all at once,
- 2:39Speaker 1: but moment by moment. When their faith feels fragile, God,
- 2:43Speaker 1: you carry them when their hearts feel exhausted, God you
- 2:46Speaker 1: sustain them. Surround them with people who will sit with
- 2:50Speaker 1: them in their sorrow, who will listen without trying to
- 2:53Speaker 1: fix what cannot be fixed, and who will love them
- 2:57Speaker 1: through every season of grief. Lord, we trust that you
- 3:01Speaker 1: are close to the broken heart and be their con
- 3:04Speaker 1: be their refuge, be their peace, And in the midst
- 3:07Speaker 1: of the deeposaurle God, hold them in the promise that
- 3:11Speaker 1: love never truly disappears. The bund they share with their
- 3:15Speaker 1: child will always remain part of their story, until the
- 3:18Speaker 1: day when every tear is wiped away. Carrie this family
- 3:22Speaker 1: and your mercy. Surround them with your presence and gently
- 3:26Speaker 1: lead them toward healing and Jesus' name.
