- 0:00Speaker 1: Could I be such a pretty girl if I just
- 0:01Speaker 1: lost some weight? Those words stuck with me for 50
- 0:06Speaker 1: years where I just knew if I could lose 20 pounds,
- 0:10Speaker 1: everything in life will be perfect. So I lose 20 pounds,
- 0:14Speaker 1: everything in life wasn't perfect. I reach for all that comfort.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I put not only that 20 pounds back on, but
- 0:21Speaker 1: maybe 15, 20 more. Hello, everybody. Welcome to Parents Talk.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And today I'm with my friend Robin Ladinsky, who is
- 0:33Speaker 1: an anxiety transformation coach. And I don't want to take
- 0:39Speaker 1: a lot of time to talk about that because there
- 0:41Speaker 1: is so much we need to unpack during our short
- 0:46Speaker 1: time together. So I'm going to start right in. Robin,
- 0:51Speaker 1: why don't you tell us what you do and how
- 0:55Speaker 1: you got started doing that?
- 0:59Speaker 2: I can do that. I work with individuals who have
- 1:05Speaker 2: anxiety showing up in their life.
- 1:08Speaker 1: And it.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Kind of feels like it's running their way. But I
- 1:13Speaker 2: have a background. I started off as a therapist. And
- 1:19Speaker 2: I discovered that a lot of my clients came to
- 1:23Speaker 2: me saying that anxiety was a big issue in their life.
- 1:29Speaker 2: So I started doing more work around that. And I
- 1:32Speaker 2: even worked with parents as, you know, coaching parents for
- 1:36Speaker 2: a long time as well. And this was also a
- 1:38Speaker 2: common theme within them. It's like, we can look at
- 1:42Speaker 2: the anxiety and what's around that. Then some of the
- 1:47Speaker 2: other areas in their life are automatically going to start
- 1:50Speaker 2: to make sense and change and shift so that everything
- 1:55Speaker 2: runs smooth. So, I kind of switched out of doing
- 2:00Speaker 2: therapy and doing coaching where I have a lot more
- 2:04Speaker 2: leeway on what I can do. I don't have to
- 2:06Speaker 2: stick with the diagnosis. I don't have to stick with
- 2:10Speaker 2: requirements by outsiders. I can do it the way that
- 2:13Speaker 2: I know works.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I love that. And it's funny, when I was doing
- 2:19Speaker 1: holistic health coaching, I started recognizing that that a lot
- 2:24Speaker 1: of the reason that my clients developed unhealthy habits is
- 2:29Speaker 1: because of anxiety. They turn to food, they turn to alcohol,
- 2:34Speaker 1: they turn to that sedentary lifestyle to try to comfort themselves.
- 2:40Speaker 1: So what I want to ask you now, Robin, is
- 2:43Speaker 1: what is one common misconception that people have about anxiety
- 2:50Speaker 1: that actually keeps them stuck? Because I'd seen this and
- 2:54Speaker 1: I've never been a therapist. So I know you definitely
- 2:58Speaker 1: have seen it. Okay.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Well, and this is really just coming from all of
- 3:04Speaker 2: my experience, not just as a therapist, but as a
- 3:07Speaker 2: coach more so, because that's what I do now. Okay.
- 3:12Speaker 2: But one of the misconceptions I see is that people
- 3:17Speaker 2: think anxiety itself is the problem. So they spend all
- 3:22Speaker 2: their time trying to manage it or get rid of it. Now,
- 3:26Speaker 2: don't get me wrong. Things like coping strategies or even
- 3:31Speaker 2: talk therapy, which I used to do, can help in
- 3:35Speaker 2: the moment. But a lot of people I work with
- 3:39Speaker 2: come to me saying, I've tried all of that and
- 3:43Speaker 2: it still keeps showing up. So what I've found is
- 3:48Speaker 2: that Anxiety is actually a signal. And it's a signal
- 3:54Speaker 2: about the root cause or a signal about what's happening.
- 3:58Speaker 2: And it's actually pointing to something underneath, which is the
- 4:04Speaker 2: root cause. And it's usually a meaning that you gave
- 4:08Speaker 2: to early experiences in your life. And so if we're
- 4:15Speaker 2: only trying to quiet the anxiety itself, without understanding what's
- 4:20Speaker 2: driving it, it's kind of like hitting the snooze button
- 4:26Speaker 2: on an alarm that keeps going off. So it might
- 4:31Speaker 2: give you temporary relief, but it doesn't actually solve why
- 4:35Speaker 2: it's there in the first place. Wow.
- 4:41Speaker 1: This is amazing because I always say that anxiety is
- 4:45Speaker 1: the symptom and it's even... incorporated into my six-step process
- 4:51Speaker 1: of personal change that we have to figure out what's
- 4:56Speaker 1: causing us to be uncomfortable. When someone came to me
- 5:00Speaker 1: needing the holistic health coaching, it wasn't the weight that
- 5:05Speaker 1: was the problem. It was what caused them to put
- 5:08Speaker 1: on the weight and keep on the weight that was
- 5:11Speaker 1: the root cause of the problem. And I know anybody
- 5:16Speaker 1: who's been in my world for a that my root
- 5:19Speaker 1: cause is when my aunt said, I'd be such a
- 5:22Speaker 1: pretty girl if I just lost some weight. And those
- 5:27Speaker 1: were the words from childhood, like Robin was saying. Those
- 5:31Speaker 1: words stuck with me for 50 years, about 47, 50 years,
- 5:37Speaker 1: where I just knew if I could lose 20 pounds,
- 5:40Speaker 1: everything in life will be perfect. So I lose 20 pounds,
- 5:44Speaker 1: everything in life wasn't perfect. I reach for all that comfort.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I put not only that 20 pounds back on, but
- 5:51Speaker 1: maybe 15, 20 more. And it was a vicious cycle.
- 5:56Speaker 1: So I think it's step three of my six-step process
- 6:01Speaker 1: of personal change is to figure out the root cause.
- 6:07Speaker 1: If you want to know more about the six-step process
- 6:10Speaker 1: of personal change, check out my website, Personal Change Warriors.
- 6:16Speaker 1: That's W-A-R-R-I-O-R-S. Not warriors like W-O-R-R.
- 6:25Speaker 2: With anxiety.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Right. We don't worry. We're warriors. PersonalChangeWarriors.com. So now I
- 6:34Speaker 1: have another question for Robin. Can you give an example
- 6:42Speaker 1: of how a past experience might still be affecting someone's
- 6:46Speaker 1: anxiety today. I know I gave you mine, but what
- 6:50Speaker 1: other kinds of examples do you have?
- 6:53Speaker 2: I'm actually going to give a couple examples. So one
- 6:57Speaker 2: is real simple and straightforward. Most people can really kind
- 7:00Speaker 2: of follow this one. And it's, let's say you're three
- 7:06Speaker 2: or four years old and a dog comes up to
- 7:09Speaker 2: you and snaps at you. What's one of the first
- 7:14Speaker 2: things as a three or four year old you're going
- 7:17Speaker 2: to think?
- 7:19Speaker 1: All dogs are bad.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. So then what happens is you start going
- 7:25Speaker 2: through life and you just notice that you're tense around dogs.
- 7:33Speaker 2: You don't know why. You don't remember that experience. You
- 7:37Speaker 2: don't even realize that you're thinking dogs are bad. You
- 7:42Speaker 2: just know that you're tensoring. That tension is an anxious response.
- 7:47Speaker 2: And people will say, oh, you have anxiety. But it's
- 7:51Speaker 2: really a symptom of this thought that you've been carrying
- 7:54Speaker 2: around that dogs are bad. So you go through your
- 7:58Speaker 2: life and this tape, this message is going over and
- 8:02Speaker 2: over and over again. And when you see the dog,
- 8:06Speaker 2: your body remembers that. what it was like when you
- 8:09Speaker 2: were three or four, when you had that first experience.
- 8:14Speaker 2: And I'll even go one step further and say that
- 8:17Speaker 2: when I work with clients, and we'll talk a little
- 8:20Speaker 2: bit more later, but what I would do is I
- 8:23Speaker 2: would help you recognize that specific statement that you're saying.
- 8:29Speaker 2: And then we would go in and release it. And
- 8:33Speaker 2: I just do that for very, there's various techniques that
- 8:35Speaker 2: I use that I've kind of created or taken on
- 8:38Speaker 2: from other people.
- 8:39Speaker 1: And so forth.
- 8:40Speaker 2: What's that I've learned? Not that I'm using.
- 8:42Speaker 1: They know I use them.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I have permission. And then it's gone. Now, some of
- 8:55Speaker 2: them are simple like that, where then we can do that.
- 8:58Speaker 2: And the next time you'll be out and about and
- 9:01Speaker 2: you won't even realize it. The odds are rounding. You're
- 9:04Speaker 2: just perfectly fine. So that's a real simple one. The
- 9:10Speaker 2: other one I'm going to use is a little bit
- 9:12Speaker 2: more personal. So it's been, I'm thinking, about eight and
- 9:16Speaker 2: a half years ago, and I was in a really
- 9:20Speaker 2: bad car accident. I don't remember getting hit itself because
- 9:24Speaker 2: I immediately got knocked out. But later on, a few
- 9:29Speaker 2: months later, because I think, I kind of think that
- 9:33Speaker 2: my mind was allowing my body to heal some first,
- 9:36Speaker 2: but then I started having some panic attacks. So that
- 9:40Speaker 2: was way anxiety showed up for me was through panic attacks.
- 9:45Speaker 2: And what I discovered is that when I was growing up,
- 9:50Speaker 2: didn't feel loved and I didn't feel safe. I was,
- 9:54Speaker 2: there was a lot of emotional neglect when I was growing.
- 9:59Speaker 2: And so, in doing some of the same work with
- 10:02Speaker 2: my mentor that I do with my clients, is we
- 10:06Speaker 2: discovered that for me, I didn't feel safe in this work.
- 10:10Speaker 2: It was emotional safety. And so once I started doing
- 10:17Speaker 2: some work around that, then things in my life started
- 10:19Speaker 2: to change.
- 10:21Speaker 1: You just brought up a memory of mine. I am
- 10:24Speaker 1: afraid of heights. And I could tell you the exact
- 10:29Speaker 1: moment that fear started, and I didn't even realize it
- 10:33Speaker 1: at first. I wasn't afraid when I was a kid.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I think I was seven years old. We went on
- 10:39Speaker 1: a family vacation. My dad took me horseback riding. And
- 10:43Speaker 1: long story short, I fell off the horse. And I
- 10:47Speaker 1: skidded down the hill, face first, My dad thought for
- 10:53Speaker 1: sure all my teeth were knocked out, but it was
- 10:55Speaker 1: just I scooped up all the dirt going down the hill. Well,
- 10:59Speaker 1: they put me right back on that horse, and I
- 11:02Speaker 1: made it back to the stables. A couple years later,
- 11:08Speaker 1: going horseback riding with the Girl Scouts. And I'm telling everybody, oh,
- 11:15Speaker 1: I love horses, and I've been horseback riding. It was
- 11:17Speaker 1: really cool. I fell off. I got back on again.
- 11:21Speaker 1: While we got there, I got on this horse and
- 11:25Speaker 1: I had a full blown panic attack. I was crying,
- 11:28Speaker 1: I was shaking, I couldn't move, and I'd been afraid
- 11:32Speaker 1: of heights since. I don't let it stop me, but
- 11:36Speaker 1: I have to find ways to overcome that fear every
- 11:41Speaker 1: time I get in a new situation. For example, in
- 11:45Speaker 1: the Navy, I had to get up onto the wing
- 11:49Speaker 1: of a large aircraft because that was my job. Well,
- 11:53Speaker 1: the first time I got out there, I told my boss,
- 11:55Speaker 1: I'm afraid of heights. And I held the back, I
- 11:58Speaker 1: held his jacket the whole time I was up there.
- 12:02Speaker 1: And then after that first time I went out on
- 12:05Speaker 1: my hands and knees and I crawled till I figured
- 12:07Speaker 1: out where the safe places to walk were. And then
- 12:10Speaker 1: eventually I slowly walked out until finally, I was able
- 12:17Speaker 1: to go and hang over in the end and change
- 12:19Speaker 1: that light bulb. So it is possible if you figure
- 12:25Speaker 1: out what the cause is to say, okay, I can
- 12:30Speaker 1: overcome this anxiety in other similar situations.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Correct? It's a little bit more complicated than that, to
- 12:40Speaker 2: be honest. It's like if you and I had met
- 12:44Speaker 2: years ago and when you first realized this was a
- 12:50Speaker 2: big concern for you, like, you know, the Fair Heights,
- 12:54Speaker 2: we could have done some work around that, meaning that
- 12:56Speaker 2: you gave that original time when you fell off the horse.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Because even though you got right back up on it,
- 13:04Speaker 2: I imagine you were terrified. I would have been. I mean,
- 13:08Speaker 2: most kids would have. And so... we would have looked
- 13:13Speaker 2: at the belief that you gave that, you know, around
- 13:17Speaker 2: that situation and then worked with that and gotten rid
- 13:21Speaker 2: of it. And so then you wouldn't have had to
- 13:23Speaker 2: do the crawling out onto the wing and all that
- 13:27Speaker 2: kind of stuff.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Okay. Now I've got another question.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Okay. How does anxiety show up in areas people don't expect?
- 13:38Speaker 1: Because I, fear of heights, you expect to be afraid
- 13:42Speaker 1: every time you go in a new situation in a
- 13:44Speaker 1: high place. But I'm sure that some of this anxiety
- 13:47Speaker 1: creeps up in businesses or relationships or sleep patterns.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Yes, and parenting, because I know this is a parenting podcast,
- 14:00Speaker 2: so I'll mention that one as well.
- 14:03Speaker 3: But this is actually one of my favorite things to
- 14:05Speaker 3: talk about because People often think anxiety only shows up
- 14:12Speaker 3: as like, you know, worry or panic.
- 14:15Speaker 2: It's actually a little broader than that. So in business,
- 14:21Speaker 2: it can look like overthinking everything. If you do videos,
- 14:28Speaker 2: not showing up on camera, procrastinating any kind of responsibilities,
- 14:34Speaker 2: or feeling like nothing you do is ever good enough.
- 14:38Speaker 2: And then in relationships, it might show up as people-pleasing
- 14:44Speaker 2: or second-guessing yourself, over-analyzing all your conversations, like replaying them
- 14:52Speaker 2: in their head, and it's like, well, maybe I should
- 14:55Speaker 2: have said that instead of this, and then things would
- 14:58Speaker 2: have turned out differently. Or feeling like you can't fully
- 15:01Speaker 2: relax or be yourself. And now anxiety and parenting looks
- 15:13Speaker 2: like overthinking, second-guessing guilt, or needing things to just feel right.
- 15:21Speaker 2: It comes from caring deeply. But underneath, there's often a
- 15:26Speaker 2: fear of not doing enough or getting it right. So
- 15:31Speaker 2: it's actually one of the places where anxiety shows up
- 15:34Speaker 2: the most, but it doesn't look like people would think.
- 15:39Speaker 2: So a lot of parents might say, you know, I'm
- 15:43Speaker 2: a good parent, but I'm constantly worried. And it can
- 15:48Speaker 2: show up in different ways. Like overthinking every decision. Am
- 15:54Speaker 2: I doing this right? Did I handle that the wrong way?
- 15:57Speaker 2: What if it affects them later, meaning your children? And
- 16:01Speaker 2: for others, it shows up in needing to be just right.
- 16:06Speaker 2: You know, the routines, the behaviors, how things look. Because
- 16:11Speaker 2: doing that allows you as the parent to have a
- 16:15Speaker 2: sense of control. And then it's possible, like I said,
- 16:20Speaker 2: in relationships with your kids, that's a relationship too. And
- 16:24Speaker 2: people pleasing comes up there when you might want to
- 16:28Speaker 2: say no to your kids or you feel guilty about
- 16:31Speaker 2: setting boundaries. So you just kind of give in. And
- 16:34Speaker 2: that's where a lot of the real trouble starts is
- 16:36Speaker 2: when parents are not consistent in setting their boundaries. And
- 16:41Speaker 2: then sometimes it's even the opposite. Feeling more reactive than
- 16:46Speaker 2: you want to be, you know, snapping and then feeling
- 16:50Speaker 2: bad afterwards. I mean, I've done that before when my
- 16:54Speaker 2: kids were little. So I'm sure many of you have too.
- 16:58Speaker 2: But what's really important to understand is is that it's
- 17:02Speaker 2: not about being a bad parent. Most of the time,
- 17:06Speaker 2: it's coming from a place of caring deeply. But underneath there,
- 17:13Speaker 2: there's often that fear like, what if I mess things up?
- 17:17Speaker 2: Or what if I'm not, what if I'm not doing it,
- 17:21Speaker 2: you know, right or good enough about it? I think
- 17:27Speaker 2: that's pretty good on that. Oh, and sleep. That's a
- 17:29Speaker 2: big one. People will say, I'm exhausted. But the second
- 17:34Speaker 2: my head hits the pillow, my mind just goes and
- 17:37Speaker 2: it goes and it goes. Or they wake up in
- 17:40Speaker 2: the middle of the night and they can't shut off
- 17:43Speaker 2: their thoughts. So it's not always obvious. A lot of
- 17:49Speaker 2: people don't even label it as anxiety. They just think
- 17:53Speaker 2: this is how I am. But when you start connecting
- 17:56Speaker 2: the dots, you realize it's showing up in multiple areas
- 18:01Speaker 2: of your life, not just one. So, how's that?
- 18:07Speaker 1: When you first started talking, I was like, yep, that
- 18:09Speaker 1: was me. That was me.
- 18:11Speaker 2: That was me.
- 18:12Speaker 1: That was me. I'm not a parent, so I'm thinking, well,
- 18:16Speaker 1: that could have been me because the first symptoms that
- 18:20Speaker 1: you talked about we're parallel with everything happening with the parent.
- 18:26Speaker 1: The overthinking, the people pleasing, the worrying about doing it right.
- 18:34Speaker 1: So I think that anxiety just shows up in our
- 18:39Speaker 1: lives everywhere. And we might not even realize it's anxiety
- 18:46Speaker 1: because for so long, people pleasing, well, That was my
- 18:54Speaker 1: way of trying to fit in because I was the
- 18:59Speaker 1: fat girl. My aunt told me I was fat and
- 19:01Speaker 1: I'd be pretty if I lost weight. Well, I guess
- 19:04Speaker 1: I'm not pretty. Who wants to be my friend because
- 19:07Speaker 1: I'm ugly? So I just tried to overcompensate by pleasing
- 19:12Speaker 1: everybody to the point that I landed in an abusive
- 19:17Speaker 1: marriage and I stayed in it way too long because Oh,
- 19:22Speaker 1: it must be my fault. I'm fat and I'm ugly,
- 19:25Speaker 1: so it must be my fault. I'll just try harder
- 19:28Speaker 1: to please him. It was so freeing to get out
- 19:35Speaker 1: of that situation, but I didn't heal the root cause.
- 19:40Speaker 1: So in my next relationship, there I was people pleasing again,
- 19:44Speaker 1: but it wasn't abusive. It just wasn't healthy. So I
- 19:49Speaker 1: did make a step up.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Up.
- 19:51Speaker 1: But until I heal that root cause, and I even
- 19:58Speaker 1: copied some of that behavior in my current marriage, we've
- 20:02Speaker 1: been together 20 years, but I see now that I
- 20:05Speaker 1: understand the root cause, I'm breaking... that cycle. And wow,
- 20:12Speaker 1: we just have such a better relationship now. We might
- 20:17Speaker 1: not have made it to 20 years had I not
- 20:20Speaker 1: healed myself.
- 20:22Speaker 2: That is so true. And I want to jump on
- 20:26Speaker 2: your example for a second, is your aunt that was
- 20:30Speaker 2: making all those comments very likely had her own issues
- 20:37Speaker 2: about her own weight. And then, you know, other people
- 20:42Speaker 2: didn't stand up and say anything to her would be
- 20:45Speaker 2: my guess because it continued. And so then there's questions about, well, why,
- 20:53Speaker 2: what's wrong with me that nobody was protecting? Well, that
- 21:00Speaker 2: creates anxiety too, because every time you then throughout your life,
- 21:04Speaker 2: you come up into a situation where you're not feeling
- 21:07Speaker 2: protected and or questioning your worth, then you start feeling
- 21:13Speaker 2: anxious because your body remembers what it felt like when
- 21:17Speaker 2: you were alive.
- 21:18Speaker 1: And here's where I have to make this disclaimer. Parents,
- 21:23Speaker 1: it's not your fault. Because my mom only had the
- 21:28Speaker 1: information she had. My mom was 110 pounds. She had
- 21:33Speaker 1: no experience with overweight. And in my dad's family, two
- 21:38Speaker 1: of my aunts and the one who made the comment
- 21:40Speaker 1: were super skinny. And then my dad and his other
- 21:43Speaker 1: sister were obese. So there was some anxiety going on
- 21:50Speaker 1: in that family, some root causes that weren't healed in
- 21:53Speaker 1: that family. And it was addictive behavior, which came up
- 21:58Speaker 1: with either being super skinny and neurotic or being obese.
- 22:05Speaker 1: overly obese and overeating. So that addictive behavior was caused
- 22:13Speaker 1: by some form of anxiety. And then that was passed
- 22:17Speaker 1: down to me. And my mom, not knowing what to do,
- 22:23Speaker 1: was listening to everybody else who thought they had the answers.
- 22:29Speaker 1: She went on Weight Watchers at 110 pounds when I
- 22:33Speaker 1: was eight years old to try to help me. So parents,
- 22:39Speaker 1: it's not your fault, but it's time to break the
- 22:42Speaker 1: cycle and figure out the root cause. Because if your
- 22:46Speaker 1: child is feeling anxious, they learn that from their environment.
- 22:57Speaker 2: And when you operate based on your anxious thoughts, then
- 23:04Speaker 2: your children are responding to that. And then that creates
- 23:09Speaker 2: uncomfortable experiences for them. And then they develop their own
- 23:13Speaker 2: meanings and it's just a revolving cycle, but it can stop.
- 23:18Speaker 1: It can. And it starts with awareness. I'm going to
- 23:22Speaker 1: invite you again. The six step process of personal change.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Step one is developing that awareness. So please, personalchangewarriors.com, get
- 23:35Speaker 1: your free copy. And that leads us into our next question, Robin.
- 23:40Speaker 1: How can someone work with you and explore this further
- 23:44Speaker 1: with you if something that you said resonated?
- 23:48Speaker 2: Okay. Well, actually, what I offer is a free 20-minute
- 23:56Speaker 2: call where you can come to me with one area
- 24:02Speaker 2: in your life that you feel anxious about, or, you know,
- 24:05Speaker 2: even if it's just a symptom, you know, when you
- 24:09Speaker 2: feel anxious. And what we'll do together is I'll just
- 24:14Speaker 2: ask some questions and I'll help you uncover one cause
- 24:19Speaker 2: that could be contributing to those anxiety symptoms. Like recently
- 24:27Speaker 2: I did one with a young girl, she was 24,
- 24:31Speaker 2: And who had panic attacks when she had to sleep alone.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Meaning like if her boyfriend, she lived with her boyfriend,
- 24:40Speaker 2: and if he had to work an overnight shift. She
- 24:42Speaker 2: always has had somebody there with her. But when she's not,
- 24:46Speaker 2: when she's alone, then she would have panic. And we
- 24:50Speaker 2: did one of those calls and blew her away. She
- 24:53Speaker 2: just was like, I never would have put that together.
- 24:56Speaker 2: She'd been in therapy on and off an entire week.
- 25:00Speaker 2: So it's nothing against therapy because I've been a therapist myself,
- 25:05Speaker 2: but they're just not trained to do this kind of thing.
- 25:08Speaker 2: And if you want to explore working together, then we'll
- 25:11Speaker 2: talk about it at that time, or at least, or
- 25:14Speaker 2: schedule another time. Because like I said, we can do
- 25:16Speaker 2: this in like 20 minutes. Wow.
- 25:21Speaker 1: All of that in just 20 minutes. So how can
- 25:26Speaker 1: people get in touch with you?
- 25:29Speaker 2: Okay. Well, if you want to sign up and do
- 25:32Speaker 2: one of those calls, I'm going to give you the
- 25:36Speaker 2: website address, RobinCoaching.com forward slash anxietybreakthroughsession.
- 25:43Speaker 1: There we go. At least they can find your website now.
- 25:46Speaker 2: And then they can contact me because I don't have
- 25:49Speaker 2: a link on the homepage or anything for this 20-minute call.
- 25:57Speaker 2: If you.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Find Robin's website. There is no direct link to this session,
- 26:06Speaker 1: the 20-minute session. So contact Robin if you need the
- 26:11Speaker 1: direct link to get the session. Yeah.
- 26:15Speaker 2: And on the website, there is a link for a quiz.
- 26:19Speaker 2: And it's, why does my anxiety show up? It keeps
- 26:24Speaker 2: showing up. And so that can... That can also be
- 26:27Speaker 2: something where you can kind of learn a little bit.
- 26:31Speaker 2: You'll get an email that explains your answer a little
- 26:34Speaker 2: bit more, plus the other answers, just so you'll have it.
- 26:37Speaker 2: And then you can respond to me at the email
- 26:41Speaker 2: address that comes. There'll also be a contact me page
- 26:45Speaker 2: on there. But I only offer this session at certain
- 26:49Speaker 2: times and for special moments. So that's why I don't
- 26:54Speaker 2: have it, a direct link on the site.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Oh, this is exclusive to the audience of Parents Talk.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Right now, that's an exclusive. It's exclusive at other moments
- 27:09Speaker 2: throughout the year. So yes, this audience gets an exclusive.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Like not everybody's going to have access to this. Wow.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Thank you, Robin. That is so awesome. So again, everybody,
- 27:24Speaker 1: Contact Robin at Robin, R-O-B-Y-N, coaching.com, because she has a
- 27:32Speaker 1: whole lot to offer. Take the quiz, find out about
- 27:36Speaker 1: how to get that 20-minute session, and get rid of
- 27:40Speaker 1: your anxiety so you don't pass it down to the kids,
- 27:45Speaker 1: because I'm living proof that everything all the anxiety from
- 27:51Speaker 1: both sides of my family channel right on through me.
- 27:55Speaker 1: And it took years to get rid of.
- 27:58Speaker 2: I'm never going to promise that we're going to completely
- 28:01Speaker 2: get rid of your anxiety because that's impossible to say.
- 28:06Speaker 2: We can take different ones one at a time and
- 28:08Speaker 2: there's different layers to them and so forth. But when
- 28:11Speaker 2: anxiety shows up, it's also a signal to tell you
- 28:14Speaker 2: there's something that you need to take a look at.
- 28:17Speaker 2: And so, um, So I want to just clarify that part.
- 28:22Speaker 2: We can get rid of various parts of it so
- 28:25Speaker 2: that it no longer runs your life. But if you're
- 28:29Speaker 2: prone to anxiety, then you may have it throughout your life,
- 28:32Speaker 2: but we can learn to have it no longer run
- 28:36Speaker 2: your life.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Oh, I love that. I love that. Because I still
- 28:41Speaker 1: feel anxious at times, but I've learned to say, wait
- 28:44Speaker 1: a minute, that's my brain overthinking that everything's going to
- 28:48Speaker 1: be okay. to just trust that everything I'm doing is enough,
- 28:53Speaker 1: that I am enough, and that people really don't think
- 28:57Speaker 1: I'm ugly and undesirable. No, you're not. Well, Robin, thank
- 29:04Speaker 1: you so much for sharing with us today. And that
- 29:07Speaker 1: is the end of the episode of Parents Talk. Please follow, subscribe,
- 29:14Speaker 1: and come back for our next episode. This is Francine
- 29:17Speaker 1: Julien saying bye. Let's break this cycle, whatever cycle you're
