- 0:16Speaker 1: Hey, I do part two.
- 0:17Speaker 2: It's your celebrity mentor, Cheryl Burke, and I'm joined by
- 0:20Speaker 2: our resident favorite real life single.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Gal, Louise. Hey, Louise, nice to meet you.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Hi, nice to meet you. Still single, Cheryl, so happy
- 0:29Speaker 3: to still have that.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Title single unhappy? Hey, even though it's the beginning of
- 0:33Speaker 2: the year. There is a lot happening, obviously in the
- 0:36Speaker 2: celebrity divorce space, So let's dive into this. Tell me
- 0:41Speaker 2: about yourself first, because I feel we are doing like
- 0:44Speaker 2: headlines without really knowing you well.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I think the point here is is nobody's immune from divorce, right, so.
- 0:51Speaker 4: I too have divorced you too, you said nine years.
- 0:56Speaker 4: It's kind of like a really popular.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Club, and you know, even celebrities you know, experience it.
- 1:04Speaker 3: And I think that's one of the things I always
- 1:06Speaker 3: pay attention to, is no matter how beautiful, how amazing
- 1:09Speaker 3: their life is, whether it's the trips that this that like,
- 1:12Speaker 3: they are normal people who go home and deal with
- 1:16Speaker 3: things that don't make them happy, or people do bad
- 1:19Speaker 3: things to them. And I just think it's a universal theme.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Relationships are challenging.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Especially in the public eye, I think, because not only
- 1:28Speaker 2: are you having to deal with the person you're involved with,
- 1:31Speaker 2: but then you're dealing with everything else, the noise around you.
- 1:34Speaker 1: So it is it is challenging.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Though I'm not Nicole Kidman or anything like that, but
- 1:40Speaker 2: I was kind of in a public.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Divorce and that was very That was hard for me.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It's hard for me. I'm sure.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I Ca'm not going to speak for my ex husband,
- 1:48Speaker 2: but I'm sure it wasn't easy for him either. And
- 1:51Speaker 2: you know, people are still talking about it and it's
- 1:53Speaker 2: been over three years, and it's like it's so it
- 1:56Speaker 2: just people like to focus I think, more on drama
- 1:59Speaker 2: than the actual good parts.
- 2:00Speaker 5: You know.
- 2:01Speaker 3: I think it's salacious stuff, and I think it's interesting
- 2:04Speaker 3: for people, and it's, you know, no different than somebody
- 2:07Speaker 3: in your group of friends that gets caught, you know,
- 2:10Speaker 3: sleeping with a pickle ball coach and all the book
- 2:12Speaker 3: clubs and everyone talked about it.
- 2:13Speaker 4: It's just people like to see people fall apart.
- 2:17Speaker 2: All apart, Yeah, and then when they finally come out
- 2:20Speaker 2: of it, they just like to tear them apart still,
- 2:22Speaker 2: like it doesn't it just but that says more about
- 2:25Speaker 2: the person tearing that person apart than it does.
- 2:27Speaker 3: About I always have taught my children that the person
- 2:32Speaker 3: who talks badly about somebody looks bad, not the one
- 2:36Speaker 3: who's being talked about.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Well, it's because they're triggered.
- 2:38Speaker 2: And obviously whatever it is that's triggering them has nothing
- 2:41Speaker 2: to do with you, And it's really none of our
- 2:43Speaker 2: business what these people say about us, you know. I mean,
- 2:46Speaker 2: it's easier said than done, but it really is obviously
- 2:49Speaker 2: a trigger for that person, whatever it may be, whether
- 2:52Speaker 2: they are wanting to be like you or there's they
- 2:54Speaker 2: don't understand how you were able to come out of
- 2:56Speaker 2: such darkness, you know, to where you are today, and
- 2:59Speaker 2: maybe that's where they still are.
- 3:00Speaker 1: You just never know.
- 3:02Speaker 3: People a lot of times don't root for people, sadly.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Especially women.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Speaking of divorce, let's talk about Amy Schumer files for
- 3:11Speaker 2: divorce from her husband, Chris Fisher after over seven years
- 3:15Speaker 2: of marriage.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Wow, have did you hear about this?
- 3:18Speaker 4: I did?
- 3:19Speaker 3: And they have a little one, which is you know,
- 3:22Speaker 3: just tough. Yeah, so that makes it hard when there's children.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I guess she just filed for divorce on Tuesday, January sixth,
- 3:31Speaker 2: and basically it was I guess a shock to some people,
- 3:35Speaker 2: but within their inner circle, not so much. But it
- 3:39Speaker 2: seems like it's amicable for the most part. She said
- 3:42Speaker 2: that Chris and I have made the difficult decision to
- 3:43Speaker 2: end our marriage after seven years. We love each other
- 3:46Speaker 2: very much and will continue to focus on raising our son.
- 3:49Speaker 2: We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I feel like everyone just says the same line every
- 3:54Speaker 2: time they announced the divorce. But it is true, and
- 3:57Speaker 2: no one's going to respect your privacy unfortunately. But I
- 4:01Speaker 2: guess the source says it's close, it's a cohesive split,
- 4:05Speaker 2: and they've just been finalizing a few things.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Remember that phrase, the Gwyneth and the Chris. What is
- 4:11Speaker 3: that conscious uncoupling? Yeah, of all the ones that we're
- 4:15Speaker 3: going to talk about, this one actually does feel tonally
- 4:19Speaker 3: like the one that might be the most benign and friendly.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Maybe, well, what does that mean? Like, does that mean
- 4:25Speaker 2: that they just both lost interest? Or like, what does
- 4:30Speaker 2: that mean?
- 4:30Speaker 4: I mean?
- 4:31Speaker 3: I think sometimes people just over time they're just not
- 4:35Speaker 3: aligned anymore, or they become more like friends, and maybe
- 4:40Speaker 3: the passion goes away or one grows in a different
- 4:42Speaker 3: direction than the other.
- 4:43Speaker 4: But it's not like.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Something bad happened, like there was infidelity or a massive
- 4:49Speaker 3: drag addiction.
- 4:50Speaker 4: It's just like our time, our chapter is done. We
- 4:53Speaker 4: share this child. We're always going to be a part
- 4:56Speaker 4: of each other's lives.
- 4:57Speaker 3: But I feel like this is the most vanilla of
- 4:59Speaker 3: the ones that we're going to talk about.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I hope, So I hope that's right.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I mean, you just never know, right like, because something
- 5:06Speaker 2: could trigger somebody, like if what if someone starts dating
- 5:08Speaker 2: before that person, Like, it can get real ugly really fast.
- 5:12Speaker 2: When you say, when you say that, maybe the passion
- 5:15Speaker 2: dies down. See for me, it's kind of like what
- 5:17Speaker 2: is like, what do you mean by the passion? Because
- 5:19Speaker 2: it's like the honeymoon phase. Is the honeymoon phase we
- 5:21Speaker 2: all go through. We all love that, right Like it's
- 5:23Speaker 2: always the fun and we all do relationship and it
- 5:26Speaker 2: does no, but it does, but it does. And it's
- 5:29Speaker 2: then then that's when the dirty work comes in. And
- 5:32Speaker 2: it's like, are you willing to put the dirty work in?
- 5:35Speaker 2: Because if you're not, there is no uh for sure,
- 5:38Speaker 2: your passion is never going to come back because you
- 5:40Speaker 2: have to like reintroduce yourself to each other. Look, you guys,
- 5:43Speaker 2: all we all as individuals, we evolve as humans, and
- 5:47Speaker 2: it just has to it takes work.
- 5:50Speaker 4: I almost think it's more than that because I.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Think it's so important that the two people and the
- 5:55Speaker 3: couple are actually best friends, right because at the end
- 5:59Speaker 3: of the day, you know, the butterflies go away, things
- 6:03Speaker 3: change in the relationship. But if you're still friends and
- 6:06Speaker 3: you still can laugh, then you have the you could
- 6:11Speaker 3: potentially go the long haul.
- 6:13Speaker 4: I think for me, my ex husband and I were
- 6:16Speaker 4: just not best friends.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Do you mean that there was no communication, because like,
- 6:19Speaker 2: what is best friends? Like what does that entail? Right?
- 6:22Speaker 1: In entail's honesty, transparency.
- 6:25Speaker 4: It's your vault.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I think it's the person that you're comfortable, you know,
- 6:29Speaker 3: being next to on a park bench looking at the
- 6:32Speaker 3: birds quietly. But it's also the person that you're laughing
- 6:35Speaker 3: hysterically with and excited to see when you come home.
- 6:38Speaker 3: But what when two people basically are living under the
- 6:42Speaker 3: same roof and there's zero communication, connectivity, interest, and you're
- 6:46Speaker 3: just coexisting like roommates like roommates, and then it's done.
- 6:51Speaker 3: But the interesting thing is when you just meet somebody
- 6:55Speaker 3: and it's kind of like the falling in love.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Which is the lush, right, But.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Then loving somebody is totally different, right, And you know,
- 7:08Speaker 3: I don't know about you. I'm in my mid fifties,
- 7:11Speaker 3: and I find that I'm trying really hard when I
- 7:15Speaker 3: go on a date to basically stick it out, to
- 7:19Speaker 3: go out a few more times if I don't have
- 7:21Speaker 3: the butterflies. Because the truth is I used to sit
- 7:25Speaker 3: on a date and be like at point A and.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Be like, oh, is this my person? Could I see
- 7:29Speaker 4: my life for them?
- 7:31Speaker 3: Now what I do is I sit there and say
- 7:34Speaker 3: is this person interesting enough to talk to? Does he
- 7:38Speaker 3: have right good moral compass that I opened going on
- 7:40Speaker 3: a second time and then a third time?
- 7:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's smart.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Yeah. So the whole butterfly thing, yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I think that's very high school maybe in a way.
- 7:50Speaker 2: But it's almost like those those movies that we see
- 7:53Speaker 2: are so toxic, those love stories, those rom coms, freaking
- 7:57Speaker 2: what's it called the Notebook? Like, first of all, there's
- 8:00Speaker 2: nothing romantic about a guy stalking you, Like does he
- 8:03Speaker 2: straight up stock? Ryan Gosling is stalking her? And we're like, oh,
- 8:07Speaker 2: we want someone to do that with us.
- 8:08Speaker 1: It's like, what this is like the wrong message?
- 8:13Speaker 4: I know.
- 8:13Speaker 3: But sometimes though you say to yourself like, well, am
- 8:16Speaker 3: I just fitting a square peg into a round hole.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Like it's so confusing.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Now, is it confusing? I don't know.
- 8:23Speaker 4: I'm all confused on it.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I think we think, I think socially right, there's so
- 8:27Speaker 2: many so societal expectations when it comes to Like, for me,
- 8:31Speaker 2: I'm forty one, and you know, people are like, aren't
- 8:35Speaker 2: you so lonely? I'm like, no, I'm actually loving my
- 8:39Speaker 2: life living alone, and I enjoy it almost too much.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I don't have drama, you know.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I have had an interesting past of relationships where it
- 8:48Speaker 2: just followed the same toxic pattern that.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I was just not a great picker.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I think that people expect someone like any woman in
- 8:58Speaker 2: their forties to have already have had children that have
- 9:01Speaker 2: been married, and like, then if not, then oh my god,
- 9:04Speaker 2: she's not well there's something wrong with her, you know.
- 9:06Speaker 2: And I think that's why it's so confusing.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Yeah, But at the same time, also it's it's kind
- 9:11Speaker 3: of like, I don't know about you, but I would
- 9:12Speaker 3: say eighty percent of my closest friends are all divorced
- 9:16Speaker 3: or never been married, and we're in our mid fifties.
- 9:20Speaker 4: So I think that the difference.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Now, are you happy being single or do you feel
- 9:25Speaker 2: like you need to have somebody in your life it's interesting.
- 9:28Speaker 3: So I don't need to have somebody in my life
- 9:31Speaker 3: because I have, you know, a lot of friends. I
- 9:34Speaker 3: have a big career, I have a lot in my
- 9:37Speaker 3: in my day that's fulfilling. I'm also very happy to
- 9:39Speaker 3: be home reading a book or going on a walk.
- 9:42Speaker 4: So unless it speaks to me, I don't.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Need my bills paid, you know what I'm saying. So
- 9:47Speaker 3: unless it like speaks to me in my heart, so
- 9:49Speaker 3: I don't need it. Would I like somebody.
- 9:52Speaker 1: That you a companion?
- 9:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but that I really like, right, because I go
- 9:56Speaker 3: out with a lot of people that's just not totally right.
- 10:00Speaker 3: And then you throw on a person's attachment wounds and
- 10:02Speaker 3: then the it comes and then there it's you get
- 10:05Speaker 3: it right. It's kind of like anxious attachment avoidant attachment.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Actually, if I was into girls, then I would totally
- 10:13Speaker 2: be attracted to.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Well, anxious people love me, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:16Speaker 3: I mean, it's like, and here's what happens. The more
- 10:19Speaker 3: they come at me, the more I feel like this,
- 10:21Speaker 3: and the more I feel like this, the more they
- 10:22Speaker 3: come at me, and it's having me, you know, it's.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Almost inevitable that anxious and anxious and what are you
- 10:30Speaker 2: avoidant always marry each other always. It's just unless you're
- 10:35Speaker 2: secure attachment, which is very rare, especially in the Los
- 10:38Speaker 2: Angeles area.
- 10:39Speaker 3: I would assume I don't know many people secure attachment
- 10:43Speaker 3: because I think we all have stuff in our cuff
- 10:46Speaker 3: or in our cup as life goes on, and I
- 10:48Speaker 3: think ultimately people just trigger each other differently, and it's
- 10:51Speaker 3: really that do our wounds line up and exactly?
- 10:55Speaker 2: And also you can still change your attachment if you
- 10:57Speaker 2: want to, just saying we're not like stuck to this
- 11:00Speaker 2: one attachment to the rest of our lives, Okay. Nicole
- 11:02Speaker 2: Kidman and Keith Urban finalized divorce. Settlement details revealed so
- 11:07Speaker 2: three months after Nicole filed for divorce from Keith, the
- 11:10Speaker 2: former couple of finalized the breakup in documents obtained by
- 11:12Speaker 2: a News January sixth, Come what may, Nicole and Keith
- 11:16Speaker 2: will always be there for each other till the end
- 11:18Speaker 2: of time. Three months after the mullin Ridge actress filed
- 11:21Speaker 2: to legally end her nineteen year marriage to the Somebody
- 11:24Speaker 2: Like You singer, the former couples officially finalized their divorce
- 11:27Speaker 2: according to legal documents, so basically all in all, I mean,
- 11:31Speaker 2: I don't think this is as amical as it may sound,
- 11:33Speaker 2: or I would think he's definitely moved on, right, I
- 11:38Speaker 2: mean from what I saw. Again, I don't don't believe
- 11:41Speaker 2: everything you read. I don't you know, I am, I
- 11:44Speaker 2: know that, but there, I think it's it happened quickly
- 11:47Speaker 2: for us, not necessarily. We don't know what happened in
- 11:50Speaker 2: their world. She seemed very much in love with him.
- 11:55Speaker 4: It feels like either side.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I don't think it was her decision put it that way.
- 11:58Speaker 3: And her daughters were they mad too about something I
- 12:02Speaker 3: had read.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I don't know. They're also grown enough.
- 12:05Speaker 2: They're seventeen and fourteen, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret Right,
- 12:08Speaker 2: they're old enough to know what the hell's going on.
- 12:11Speaker 2: And I come from a divorce family. My parents got
- 12:13Speaker 2: divorce when I was too. I think it's so much
- 12:15Speaker 2: easier when you're not as you know, you're not able
- 12:17Speaker 2: to really put two and two together at that moment
- 12:19Speaker 2: than to be teenagers going through and seeing your parents.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I would only.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Assume it was eighteen. It was awful. I remember all
- 12:27Speaker 4: of it.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Oh, it's very very Yeah. I mean, my first memory
- 12:32Speaker 2: I remember was my dad with another woman at two
- 12:34Speaker 2: years old. But again I wouldn't I don't know if
- 12:38Speaker 2: it would have affected me. I think it would have
- 12:40Speaker 2: affected me more if I was older. Maybe I don't
- 12:42Speaker 2: know either way.
- 12:44Speaker 3: And it's also hard when you worry about a parent
- 12:46Speaker 3: and not the other one. And so what I've read
- 12:48Speaker 3: with this and again not everything is true. But whether
- 12:51Speaker 3: it's smoke, maybe there's fire in this case, I don't
- 12:53Speaker 3: know in this one because that girl and the band
- 12:57Speaker 3: or the singer, and then you see this thing with
- 12:58Speaker 3: the daughters Matt, I don't know, seems something there. I
- 13:02Speaker 3: don't think this is as calm and friendly as the
- 13:05Speaker 3: first one.
- 13:05Speaker 1: As Amy Schumer, yeah, I know.
- 13:07Speaker 4: This one's a little more chocolate than vanilla.
- 13:10Speaker 2: And I don't know if they're going to be like
- 13:11Speaker 2: the next headline with Kyle and you know, Maricio spending
- 13:14Speaker 2: Christmases together and Holidays together. You know, I'm not sure
- 13:17Speaker 2: they're ever going to get there as far as I'm concerned.
- 13:20Speaker 2: But you know, I think I don't know from what
- 13:22Speaker 2: I saw outsider Big Time. Don't know them personally, but
- 13:26Speaker 2: like it seemed to me that Nicole was head over
- 13:28Speaker 2: heels even was willing to deal with his alcoholism, you know,
- 13:33Speaker 2: and I get I'm an addict and that if you
- 13:37Speaker 2: let it take over, and if you don't, you know,
- 13:41Speaker 2: want to do the steps to be sober and get better,
- 13:44Speaker 2: it will take you there.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Unfortunately, it's dark, but.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Sounds like he was there supporting him and and very devoted.
- 13:55Speaker 2: And it's hard, very sad. It's really sad, and it's
- 13:59Speaker 2: sad for the K's. What do you think of this
- 14:11Speaker 2: settlement though? In particular, I.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Guess well, I feel like we all found out about
- 14:17Speaker 3: it later. I think it had probably been going on
- 14:19Speaker 3: for a while, because it just seems like it's not
- 14:21Speaker 3: stamp pretty quickly. I mean, I think mine took six
- 14:24Speaker 3: months right before that stamp came. I don't know, what
- 14:28Speaker 3: do you mean, stamp like the divorce settlement stamp like.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Oh yeah, mine took six months at least.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Right, But this one I feel like was quicker.
- 14:36Speaker 1: For some reason.
- 14:37Speaker 2: So the document states each party indicates that he or
- 14:40Speaker 2: she does not want to proceed with formal discovery, including
- 14:44Speaker 2: completing interrogations, in requests for production of documents or discovery
- 14:48Speaker 2: depositions that are designed to discover assets and debts.
- 14:51Speaker 1: So they are going to split everything. I guess is
- 14:54Speaker 1: that what it is.
- 14:55Speaker 4: I think that they just don't want to go through
- 14:56Speaker 4: the whole thing with it.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Yeah, with having all their books open and all the
- 15:01Speaker 3: skeletons taken out of the closet.
- 15:03Speaker 1: They didn't have a prenapp obviously because.
- 15:05Speaker 3: They settled or they settled quietly something just to have
- 15:09Speaker 3: stuff not come out in the public.
- 15:11Speaker 2: I don't know, because when you have a prenup, I
- 15:13Speaker 2: mean I had a prenup. Everything was quite simple. There
- 15:16Speaker 2: was really there was no I mean there was nothing.
- 15:19Speaker 2: It was written prior to our marriage, right like what
- 15:23Speaker 2: you know, whatever it was, It's like, it was quite
- 15:25Speaker 2: None of this was like I didn't even.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Feel like maybe there was an understanding like what's hers
- 15:31Speaker 3: is hers, what's his is his? And so therefore it
- 15:33Speaker 3: was easy to buifurkid or whatever the word is on
- 15:35Speaker 3: that front. But they had to have some sort of
- 15:38Speaker 3: agreement because they were both uber successful when they met.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and I don't think yeah exactly, and they're
- 15:43Speaker 2: both going to be fine without each other. They both
- 15:45Speaker 2: can support their own lives and the children's lives.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I would assume comfortably. We would think, now you never know,
- 15:53Speaker 1: you never know. We don't know.
- 15:55Speaker 4: That one was a surprise.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it was big time.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I was definitely surprised.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I didn't even know he was an alcoholic. I had
- 16:03Speaker 1: no idea that was kept quiet. I know. That's a
- 16:06Speaker 1: scary part. That's scary.
- 16:08Speaker 2: And I have to say, when I was drinking, no
- 16:11Speaker 2: one knew either because I was functioning.
- 16:12Speaker 1: So it is scary.
- 16:14Speaker 4: And she probably kept it really quiet too.
- 16:16Speaker 3: And so I just like a family, a family secret
- 16:19Speaker 3: or just in our circle.
- 16:20Speaker 2: And imagine like just the feelings of shame and guilt
- 16:23Speaker 2: and god, it's like dark, it's dark.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I agree.
- 16:26Speaker 3: But sad for those girls because at fourteen and seventeen,
- 16:30Speaker 3: they're still in the house, but yet they want to
- 16:34Speaker 3: live their life, meaning they're starting probably with you know,
- 16:37Speaker 3: all the teen girls stuff, and also to worry about
- 16:39Speaker 3: their whole family foundation, fowing magazines, worrying about.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Their mom or dad maybe fall I don't.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Know, it's a lot for girl. I mean, to deal
- 16:47Speaker 1: with a stepmom.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Oh, sounds like you had a few of those.
- 16:52Speaker 2: No, I had not mom, No, I mean technic my
- 16:55Speaker 2: dad was This is a long, long story. Short, he
- 16:59Speaker 2: followed his past pussy and went to Thailand open strip clubs.
- 17:02Speaker 2: He was a very successful lawyer in the bar area,
- 17:04Speaker 2: and so I had a bunch of stepmoms probably, but
- 17:07Speaker 2: we won't go there.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Rest and pacey. Then okay, got it.
- 17:12Speaker 4: You turned out. That's all good.
- 17:14Speaker 2: So thanks therapy though for the rest of my life,
- 17:18Speaker 2: and I'm proud of it. Kyle Richards and estranged husband
- 17:22Speaker 2: Mauricio Umansky or Umanski stand after spending holidays together. So
- 17:28Speaker 2: basically they spent it sounds like Christmas and New Year's together.
- 17:31Speaker 2: They seemed very lovey dovey when they went to what's
- 17:35Speaker 2: her name's Uh there some party in Aspen. Hey, Hudson,
- 17:41Speaker 2: the Hudson's Party. Yes, and Aspen. They were all over
- 17:43Speaker 2: each other supposedly, but supposedly the people in there inner
- 17:47Speaker 2: circles say, there's no chance that they're going to reconcile.
- 17:52Speaker 1: What are your thoughts with this?
- 17:53Speaker 4: Oh?
- 17:53Speaker 3: No, Like I always kind of liked them together, Like, yeah,
- 17:58Speaker 3: I kind of.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Losing the passion. I'm pretty sure that's what happened with them.
- 18:03Speaker 4: I don't know, Like I kind of don't think so
- 18:04Speaker 4: I'll still feel an energy sometimes when I look at
- 18:07Speaker 4: them together, and they I kind of feel.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Like if any of the couples were talking about could
- 18:12Speaker 3: have a potential reconciliation, it would be them, because I
- 18:19Speaker 3: think they were happy for a long time or so
- 18:20Speaker 3: it looked, and they were married a long time.
- 18:23Speaker 4: I don't know, like I do.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I have seen couples get divorced and then I have
- 18:29Speaker 3: friends that literally got divorced and are dating again, like.
- 18:34Speaker 1: They're dating their ex husband. Yes, I was, Oh my god,
- 18:38Speaker 1: that's so crazy.
- 18:39Speaker 3: So I actually think that's I don't know, like, I
- 18:42Speaker 3: don't know if that's a function of like, Okay, we've
- 18:44Speaker 3: been out there, we've seen what else is out there?
- 18:46Speaker 4: Like the devil I.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Know was better than the devil I didn't know, and
- 18:51Speaker 3: we still the good things that were in a relationship
- 18:54Speaker 3: still exist, right, and we have this life together.
- 18:56Speaker 4: So then why not do it again?
- 18:58Speaker 3: Or maybe they've been alone for so long that like
- 19:00Speaker 3: they do want a companion or something.
- 19:01Speaker 1: He has not been alone.
- 19:03Speaker 4: No, I know him.
- 19:04Speaker 3: I'm just saying in general, the people that I've seen, oh,
- 19:07Speaker 3: you know that get back together. I don't know, No,
- 19:10Speaker 3: he I mean.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I think I think, honestly, you're right, though, when it
- 19:12Speaker 2: comes to when you you know, you never know what
- 19:14Speaker 2: you have until you actually lose that person. And sometimes
- 19:18Speaker 2: you just need a little space to bring the heat back.
- 19:20Speaker 2: It's just the way it is, you know, some space
- 19:22Speaker 2: and grace and maybe dating again is what makes them,
- 19:26Speaker 2: you know, have that spark. But let's just commend them
- 19:30Speaker 2: for this is talk about like an actual divorce in
- 19:34Speaker 2: front of their kids, where everything's amicable. They never talked
- 19:36Speaker 2: bad about each other, especially you know, for him when
- 19:40Speaker 2: he kind of rose to fame when he did.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Especially divorced. Yet I think they're just separated.
- 19:44Speaker 2: No, they're just I think they still live together right
- 19:46Speaker 2: under the same roof. I believe that's what I read.
- 19:49Speaker 2: I don't know if that's true. There's no way that's true.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Maybe they do that nesting thing. I think, is there
- 19:54Speaker 3: one or two kids at home?
- 19:55Speaker 2: I mean, I think there's a reason why they're not divorced.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I wonder if it's just ugly. It would get kind
- 20:00Speaker 2: of complicated.
- 20:01Speaker 3: I think some people at this point they figure over
- 20:04Speaker 3: with the money situation and the kind of unraveling of
- 20:07Speaker 3: the estate, like why not still legally stay married? But
- 20:10Speaker 3: you know, I need separate lives I have seen it
- 20:13Speaker 3: before with tons of my friends that they just don't
- 20:16Speaker 3: break up the estate. They still have one shared account,
- 20:19Speaker 3: they file joint tax return and they just live separate lives.
- 20:24Speaker 4: But they're more and it works.
- 20:26Speaker 2: My mother kept my father's last name still and she remarried,
- 20:30Speaker 2: you know, and it's like, I don't know why.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I mean, you think she created a business.
- 20:33Speaker 2: But when it comes to the Ratio and Kyle, they
- 20:36Speaker 2: had no money when they started, when they were together,
- 20:39Speaker 2: and now.
- 20:40Speaker 4: They don't have They probably don't have a prenap because
- 20:42Speaker 4: at that.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Age, yeah, what are they protecting?
- 20:45Speaker 4: But you know what's really.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Interesting what I'm hearing now is that a lot of
- 20:49Speaker 3: parents are having their children now sign prenaps even when
- 20:54Speaker 3: there's no money and no careers.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Just a lot of their parents say that again.
- 20:58Speaker 3: So the theme right now now and so I have
- 21:01Speaker 3: children that are in their mid mid upper twenties, and
- 21:04Speaker 3: the theme now for all of these kids is when
- 21:08Speaker 3: they're getting married, they're signing prenups even though there's no
- 21:12Speaker 3: money yet.
- 21:13Speaker 4: It's an anticipation of it.
- 21:15Speaker 3: So god forbid the marriage goes south, they already have
- 21:19Speaker 3: a deal in place.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Isn't that smart?
- 21:21Speaker 1: So smart. I thought that for sure.
- 21:23Speaker 2: This next generation too, they just didn't believe in marriage
- 21:25Speaker 2: for the most part. So I was like, God, you guys, Yeah,
- 21:28Speaker 2: I'm a millennial, so like I think, you know, we
- 21:31Speaker 2: got kind of stuck in the trauma of our generational
- 21:35Speaker 2: job of our parents.
- 21:37Speaker 3: The marriage thing is interesting though for my general I
- 21:40Speaker 3: don't know. Am I I think maybe? Am I a
- 21:42Speaker 3: different generation?
- 21:42Speaker 1: Can you?
- 21:43Speaker 2: No?
- 21:43Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 21:44Speaker 4: I mean, what hell do you mid fifties? I think
- 21:46Speaker 4: I'm a different.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Generation maybe, And if you're not, then yeah, oh I'm jenax,
- 21:51Speaker 2: Oh you're.
- 21:51Speaker 4: I just look up.
- 21:53Speaker 3: But it's interesting because I get asked this question a
- 21:55Speaker 3: lot is would you ever get remarried again? And when
- 22:00Speaker 3: I first got divorced, I was like, no, why would.
- 22:03Speaker 4: I'm not going to share money at kids. I'm just
- 22:04Speaker 4: going to do my thing.
- 22:05Speaker 3: But we could date, have a companionac to wear it
- 22:08Speaker 3: ring like a But totally I've gotten older and as
- 22:13Speaker 3: I think I would get remarried now more for the
- 22:17Speaker 3: concept of somebody being able to pull the plug on me.
- 22:20Speaker 4: God forbid, you know what I'm saying.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Can't you have your parents do that? Or your kids? Sorry,
- 22:25Speaker 1: your kids.
- 22:26Speaker 4: That's a hard thing for a kid to do. I
- 22:28Speaker 4: don't know totally.
- 22:29Speaker 3: No, I'm just saying my black and white, it's just.
- 22:33Speaker 1: A contract, right, like it's a contract.
- 22:36Speaker 2: I mean you can also do your estate plan as well,
- 22:38Speaker 2: and you can make those decisions that way.
- 22:41Speaker 3: But they it's interesting because the second marriages, and there's
- 22:45Speaker 3: a higher percentage chance of a second marriage entering in
- 22:48Speaker 3: divorce in a first because oh really yeah, once a
- 22:52Speaker 3: person has gotten divorced once and survived it, they say, oh,
- 22:57Speaker 3: it's not that hard, so it's just easier throw in
- 22:59Speaker 3: the towels second time if you've already thrown in the towel.
- 23:02Speaker 4: So you see that a lot more.
- 23:04Speaker 3: I just one of my very best friends whose second
- 23:07Speaker 3: marriage was seventeen years.
- 23:08Speaker 4: She just got divorced.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Oh wow, so it's I mean, you look at most
- 23:13Speaker 3: first marriages are fifty percent.
- 23:14Speaker 4: I think second marriages are like seventy percent. It's not sad.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Well I thought would be the other way around.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I mean, as far as I'm concerned, I don't pair
- 23:21Speaker 2: either way really, but I'm not as it. Like before,
- 23:25Speaker 2: when I first got married, I was like, yes, I
- 23:27Speaker 2: need to get married. It was more, it was more
- 23:29Speaker 2: about me getting married than kids. Ever, like my whole
- 23:31Speaker 2: life it was like that, Like I never really dreamed
- 23:33Speaker 2: of having kids as much as my marriage.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Now that I got that out of the way, we're good.
- 23:37Speaker 3: But one last thing and then we can move on
- 23:38Speaker 3: to the next thing. Every time I tell my children
- 23:41Speaker 3: somebody we know is getting divorced or friends of ours,
- 23:44Speaker 3: they look at me and they go, so, doesn't everybody
- 23:46Speaker 3: get divorced. It's like, no, they're so sad, so jaded
- 23:50Speaker 3: because they look around at like I'm divorced, my brother's divorced,
- 23:53Speaker 3: my parents are divorced, my ex husband's they are divorce.
- 23:57Speaker 6: I mean, it's just everywhere they turned sad. I know,
- 24:10Speaker 6: so moving on to another divorce, moving on to another divorce.
- 24:14Speaker 2: But I really like, I don't know her, but she
- 24:16Speaker 2: seems really genuine. Jennifer Gardner makes rare comments about her
- 24:19Speaker 2: hard divorce from Ben Affleck.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Am I seeing things? Maybe maybe you can.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Confirm or not, But did Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck
- 24:27Speaker 2: just like get seen out together like canoodling versus old footage?
- 24:32Speaker 3: I read that also. I was kind of hoping he
- 24:34Speaker 3: and Jennifer Garner would get I.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Mean they were.
- 24:37Speaker 2: There's no way Jennifer Gardner would never do that to herself.
- 24:40Speaker 2: She's like, she's very I say, as brounded as you
- 24:44Speaker 2: can be, as you can be in this business. Right,
- 24:47Speaker 2: she seems to be. She seems to be very genuine
- 24:49Speaker 2: and authentic. Don't know her, don't know, but she does
- 24:52Speaker 2: seem a little too good for him.
- 24:54Speaker 4: The son, I don't know, Well, good girls like good
- 24:58Speaker 4: girls like that, I.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Don't think, but I don't think she's like that.
- 25:00Speaker 3: I don't think she got She's not going to go
- 25:03Speaker 3: back to it now. If he and Jennifer go back
- 25:05Speaker 3: to the rodeo for a third time.
- 25:06Speaker 1: They are they just they were just seen together. It's crazy.
- 25:09Speaker 4: That's just toxic. And they both have to know that
- 25:11Speaker 4: going into it.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I don't think they.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Do, and that's why they keep going back to it.
- 25:17Speaker 2: It's like, you, guys, you're an ex for a reason.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Period. I married an ex.
- 25:23Speaker 3: It's like once something already has had this seal broken,
- 25:26Speaker 3: it's it's still kind of existing.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Okay, right, it's the same person.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Like we evolved, but we don't really we don't really change.
- 25:32Speaker 4: No, people do not change.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Not true, Not true.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Only if you're aware, if you're very much aware and
- 25:40Speaker 2: like present as much as possible, and you take accountability.
- 25:43Speaker 1: You can change. I change. I'm anarcoholic.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Okay, I think people can act, but I think sometimes
- 25:48Speaker 3: that default behavior will rear its head again in the
- 25:50Speaker 3: heat of a yes, but in a conscious moment where
- 25:54Speaker 3: you can stop and pause and react differently.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I've made tense evolved.
- 26:00Speaker 2: If you are willing to like like take the whole thing,
- 26:03Speaker 2: it has to be the whole thing. It's a whole package.
- 26:05Speaker 2: You have to know that you're not perfect and you're
- 26:07Speaker 2: not a narcissist. If that, if you can do that.
- 26:10Speaker 3: And you're actively doing work on yourself all the time,
- 26:14Speaker 3: and so you're it's really about pausing and not reacting
- 26:17Speaker 3: and trying to look at somebody else landing instead of
- 26:20Speaker 3: and looking at somebody else's lens and just yeah, and.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Always know that your work in progress. Everybody is. I
- 26:26Speaker 2: don't give who you are.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Nobody's in the language.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Jennifer Gardner, so if she's giving rare insight into her separation.
- 26:34Speaker 2: She spoke to Mary Claire UK about life now in
- 26:36Speaker 2: the upcoming second season of her TV show on Apple TV.
- 26:40Speaker 2: She says, you have to be smart about what you
- 26:42Speaker 2: can and can't handle. And I could not handle what
- 26:45Speaker 2: was out there. But what was out there, she said,
- 26:49Speaker 2: was not what was hard. The fact of it is
- 26:52Speaker 2: what was hard, she says. It's the actual breaking up
- 26:54Speaker 2: of a family is what was hard. Losing a true
- 26:57Speaker 2: partnership and friendship is what was hard, she said. And
- 27:03Speaker 2: she says, I make a big, consorted effort to see
- 27:05Speaker 2: my people as much as I can. She was basically asked,
- 27:08Speaker 2: you know how she was able to handle all of this,
- 27:11Speaker 2: and she saw community and she thinks that that's where
- 27:16Speaker 2: your resilience is. It's in your relationships and in the
- 27:18Speaker 2: people who carry you through. Can you relate to what
- 27:22Speaker 2: Jen said about divorce.
- 27:23Speaker 4: One hundred percent?
- 27:24Speaker 3: So it's really easy to be there for people in
- 27:27Speaker 3: the good times, right when.
- 27:29Speaker 4: It's parties and cocktails and trips and this.
- 27:31Speaker 3: That you learn who your people are when your chips
- 27:34Speaker 3: are down and yep, and you really do.
- 27:37Speaker 4: And as much as it's hard to.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Whittle it down, quality not quantity matter so much more
- 27:46Speaker 3: when you get to that place, right And so when you.
- 27:49Speaker 4: Go through a divorce, you learn who.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Your friends are and right, and I'm super grateful for
- 27:56Speaker 3: my tribe.
- 27:58Speaker 4: But getting divorce is hard. My kids were young.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Nothing salacious happened in our divorce.
- 28:05Speaker 4: We just were not a good fit. But our kids
- 28:08Speaker 4: were young.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Helen, Were you married for fourteen years? Wow?
- 28:13Speaker 4: And we are best friends?
- 28:15Speaker 2: Oh?
- 28:15Speaker 1: Oh, now you are. That's great.
- 28:17Speaker 4: No, we we had when we first got divorced.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Our child had some medical stuff, so we had to
- 28:23Speaker 3: stay united on that front. And what I learned in
- 28:26Speaker 3: our divorce is the best things of him still exist
- 28:30Speaker 3: and the best things of me still exist, and we
- 28:32Speaker 3: really appreciate that. And as co parents, we were locked
- 28:38Speaker 3: and loaded on that and it was just great, right.
- 28:41Speaker 3: And actually we enjoy each other. I mean we talk
- 28:43Speaker 3: all the time.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Is there any like?
- 28:46Speaker 3: No, I love his fiance, I love her kids. Like
- 28:48Speaker 3: we are like one big, modern, happy family. And I'm
- 28:52Speaker 3: very grateful that I married him and that he's the.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Father of my children.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Oh, that's nice of you to say, genuinely, that's so great.
- 29:00Speaker 2: How long How long did that take to get there?
- 29:02Speaker 2: From your divorce?
- 29:04Speaker 3: Look, when you're first getting divorced and you're just kind
- 29:07Speaker 3: of unraveling everything, it's it takes a minute to recalibrate.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Years was pretty easy, Like within like a year or two.
- 29:15Speaker 3: But I would say we really became friends, like in
- 29:20Speaker 3: the last couple of years, like really friends. Like I
- 29:23Speaker 3: was going to get a mammogram and was like, do you.
- 29:25Speaker 4: Need a ride? I was like, oh no, no, ma,
- 29:28Speaker 4: like genuinely friends.
- 29:29Speaker 3: And he had had some surgery and his fiance wasn't
- 29:32Speaker 3: in town and so.
- 29:36Speaker 4: I picked him up. I mean, it's more like we're
- 29:39Speaker 4: brother and sister.
- 29:40Speaker 1: How's the fiance handling that, Oh, we love each other?
- 29:43Speaker 4: Because let me chage that.
- 29:44Speaker 1: That's great.
- 29:45Speaker 4: He hasn't he didn't change, I mean he makes change. Similar. No,
- 29:49Speaker 4: we just sit there.
- 29:50Speaker 3: I look at her and I'm like, like, it's so funny.
- 29:53Speaker 1: But she's so great.
- 29:54Speaker 4: She's rad.
- 29:55Speaker 3: But guess what age appropriate has an amazing job, which
- 29:59Speaker 3: means she has her own money, has her own children.
- 30:02Speaker 3: She's like a best case scenario. It's not like the
- 30:05Speaker 3: guy who dates.
- 30:06Speaker 1: It's not like underage. Yeah, it's the young girl or
- 30:10Speaker 1: your daughter's best friend.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Right, or is like a total gold digger or whatever
- 30:13Speaker 3: it is. So it's kind of like winning, right.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Right, you respect her, ultimately respect her.
- 30:19Speaker 4: I want to be her best friend.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, And how are your kids? Handling it.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Oh, they they haven't pay They love it. They think
- 30:25Speaker 4: it's great.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Initially when you guys divorced it, they were now I
- 30:29Speaker 3: mean they were, they were, they were young.
- 30:33Speaker 4: I think for them it was yeah.
- 30:36Speaker 3: I mean I think they were, you know, second and
- 30:38Speaker 3: fourth grade. So it's hard. Yeah, it's hard.
- 30:41Speaker 1: It's hard.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Thanks for sharing. Let's move on to Tom Brady, shall we.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Tom Brady shares cryptic posts. I think people need to
- 30:48Speaker 2: literally start looking into their lives and not Tom Brady's.
- 30:52Speaker 2: After spending time with Alex Earl on New Year's Eve, Okay.
- 30:56Speaker 4: I want to be Alex Earl.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, first of all, who can. They're
- 31:01Speaker 1: both of age one two, they can do whatever the
- 31:04Speaker 1: hell they want.
- 31:04Speaker 2: I think the single, single and thought and if they
- 31:08Speaker 2: want to have a one night stand or ten night stan,
- 31:10Speaker 2: so be it.
- 31:11Speaker 4: And we all I want to read about.
- 31:13Speaker 3: I mean, I watched her on TikTok in college, like
