  Speaker 2: incocerration their families. In conseration, FOR myself i was formerly

  Speaker 2: incarcerated myself. As well and so what drew me to
• 6:11
  Speaker 2: being an activist in this space was actually When the
• 6:18
  Speaker 2: Trader Of mountain martin. Case happened it actually caught my
• 6:21
  Speaker 2: ATTENTION as i started learning how to do four year
• 6:24
  Speaker 2: requests and find out and do more with deep guys
• 6:28
  Speaker 2: into the people system around the country and find out

  Speaker 2: living about. The LAWS and i was fighting then towards

  Speaker 2: the stavage of the standing ground laws that they were

  Speaker 2: trying to Pass in texas at the time that was

  Speaker 2: already Passed, In florida and so what drew me to

  Speaker 2: this case was really just being from that area and

  Speaker 2: hearing the young people talk about it. That day it

  Speaker 2: just it grabbed my HEART and i was drown to

  Speaker 2: the case at that point, in TIME and i just,

  Speaker 2: couldn't SLEEP and I think i just really placed it

  Speaker 2: in my heart at that point. In, time so with

  Speaker 2: a lot of other, circumstances happening it really just dialed

  Speaker 2: me in and gave me a tunnel vision to be
• 7:16
  Speaker 2: a full time activist amongst everything Else that i'm doing

  Speaker 2: to help and advocate for those who can't advocate for
• 7:22
  Speaker 2: themselves and who find themselves in the judicial system and
• 7:26
  Speaker 2: whatever capacity it. May be.

  Speaker 1: So what first made you want to get involved in?

  Speaker 2: This, CASE well I was i was actually working on
• 7:42
  Speaker 2: some stuff for my own business at, the TIME and
• 7:46
  Speaker 2: i saw a Post on facebook and another POST on
• 7:51
  Speaker 2: i believe it might have Been on instagram that was
• 7:55
  Speaker 2: some young people talking about what just happened at the
• 7:58
  Speaker 2: school and that Was on april second, this year AND
• 8:04
  Speaker 2: so i started reading those AND then i started get
• 8:06
  Speaker 2: phone calls from from the PEOPLE that i know that
• 8:10
  Speaker 2: had knowledge of what the situation was and telling me.
• 8:13
  Speaker 2: About IT then i started sitting on, the news AND
• 8:16
  Speaker 2: so i started paying attention and just listening to what
• 8:18
  Speaker 2: the kids. Were saying most of them were probably middle
• 8:22
  Speaker 2: school and young high, school age and their Mindset was
• 8:27
  Speaker 2: i'm glad that this person speaking of off the metals
• 8:32
  Speaker 2: would learn to keep at tank to. Himself now and
• 8:35
  Speaker 2: that alarmed because those the young people saying, that one
• 8:39
  Speaker 2: this person has to be doing this type of, stuff
• 8:41
  Speaker 2: before and then two for these young people still be,
• 8:46
  Speaker 2: at school and then tweeting out and lets the messaging
• 8:51
  Speaker 2: out about something that was fresh that was still happening
• 8:54
  Speaker 2: at that moment in. That state it allured me and

  Speaker 2: it caught. My attention and THEN when I Started carmelo

  Speaker 2: anthony being traded through, the news the local news media There,

  Speaker 2: in DALLAS the, dfw AREA and i saw, a face

  Speaker 2: it just. Grabbed me and at that point my mind

  Speaker 2: WAS that i am not going to step by and

  Speaker 2: let this young man take the roads that a lot

  Speaker 2: of people myself and others have taken In the texas

  Speaker 2: final system and the railroaded and especially from just listening

  Speaker 2: to the beginning troups of what happened on that day at,

  Speaker 2: that time it caught. My attention what really direct to

  Speaker 2: this this MOMENT was i was actually, on TikTok may

  Speaker 2: i was paying attention. TO it i was getting my,

  Speaker 2: own INFORMATION and i was just. PAYING attention i was

  Speaker 2: going on tay TALK and i saw an actual page

  Speaker 2: that people were, all ALIVE and i saw these two

  Speaker 2: people going back and forth AND and i just heard

  Speaker 2: him cursing at, each other and one was a, black

  Speaker 2: LADY and i saw that no one was coming to her,

  Speaker 2: defens well these other people were jumping. On HER so

  Speaker 2: i went into the line and got up on the
• 10:12
  Speaker 2: PATHELINE and i just kind of just came to. Her

  Speaker 2: face AND once i came to, her defense the people
• 10:19
  Speaker 2: started talking, to me and one lady that was going

  Speaker 2: after her was saying that she had saw the video

  Speaker 2: and that she. Had STRAPPED so i started talking about

  Speaker 2: that moment that, you know how dare you go into
• 10:31
  Speaker 2: a space as public when you know, You SAID and

  Speaker 2: i think that got the radar attention of those people at,

  Speaker 2: that point and they start coming after me at, that
• 10:39
  Speaker 2: POINT and i think THAT'S when i was pushed into
• 10:43
  Speaker 2: this this moment because we were talking about through that,

  Speaker 2: time space and probably three weeks four weeks, after that
• 10:54
  Speaker 2: talked about, what saw what was seen on the video
• 10:58
  Speaker 2: that was being Shown at crisco as the for for a,

  Speaker 2: few weeks and the people who know what happened but
• 11:08
  Speaker 2: speaks to opposite of, the truth they were upset about

  Speaker 2: that truth, getting out and so those people started actively
• 11:17
  Speaker 2: trying to stop people from talking. About it so that's

  Speaker 2: what pushed me into the forefront of, this case WHERE

  Speaker 2: before i was just paying attention from, my house in

  Speaker 2: my own life and praying and making sure that, you

  Speaker 2: know my prayers went up for that family and that.

  Speaker 2: YOUNG man i guess having the audacity to protect the

  Speaker 2: black woman that was being attacked because of what she
• 11:41
  Speaker 2: saw and what she, was telling and then growing myself
• 11:45
  Speaker 2: and seeing that video and seeing that she would tell
• 11:47
  Speaker 2: the truth and being attacked also. For that it pushed
• 11:50
  Speaker 2: me into an, activist Mode which i'm not, unfamiliar WITH
• 11:56
  Speaker 2: but i just wasn't doing it at, the.

  Speaker 1: Time right so for educational purposes for those that may

  Speaker 1: not know about, this case what Does the texas law
• 12:07
  Speaker 1: generally say about self defense or stand?

  Speaker 2: Your ground texas law is actually just a SELF defense.

  Speaker 2: Uh law it's not written like most of THE other

  Speaker 2: uh standing ground laws where it's actually stand your. Ground

  Speaker 2: necessary and that's up to any including unalliving force as
