[imitates trumpet] Legendary was the Xanadu where Kublai Khan decreed his stately pleasure dome. Today, almost as legendary is the occasional dose of fat, the interwebs largest audio pleasures grounds.
• 0:38
Here to expound on the loot of the fat bike world are your hosts, Sven and Gomez. A new smell that smells you back to where you smelled from. Buenas noches.
• 0:49
It's our intense, pulsating, tectonic plate-shredding pleasure to introduce Milwaukee's very own JK Living. And I is introducing the band of crazy Chris Daisy and Smooth Evil. Hey, guys.
• 1:04
[siren wailing] The Weekly Dose of Fat is brought to you by the Surly 8 and 24 pack racks, 'cause carrying stuff rules when you're out there in las pampas de Patagonia. Or Sheboygan Heights.
• 1:18
Learn more about the bikes, the beer, and the freedom at surlybikes.com. ¿Qué es tu problema, chico? We start the show with the event of the week.
• 1:30
We delve into the beards and beers, like if you're too afraid to drink beer with your beard, drink it from someone else's beard. It's all about sharing. And then we share links from all over the interwebs.
• 1:43
We check in with the Fatty Farm field report brought to you by Becker Sewing and Design, where we award Global Fat Bike Day design contest winners.
• 1:54
That's right, some lucky boy or girl is going to win a brand-new Surly bicycle. And in our special weirder segment, we share the next hot new cycling trend. Hot cycling trend. Cycling trends coming your way.
• 2:12
Uh, it's time for the event of the week now, and, uh, the event of the week this week is, uh, Joe Boo's post-Thanksgiving ride that he calls the Pie Burner. Joe Boo's been on more shows than I have. Really?
• 2:26
[laughs] How you doing, fellas? [laughs] How's it going, Joe? All right. How about you guys? We're doing well. We're just, uh... We haven't gotten in the rhythm yet. We're just kinda [laughs] getting rolling here.
• 2:36
So, uh- Hey, that's okay... you're, you're gonna have to carry the show now going forward. No problem. That's right, Joe. It's your show now. [laughs] It's our new thing. We just hand the show off to people. Your show.
• 2:48
It's your show. Great. So, uh, tell, tell us a little bit about the Pie Burner. How'd it get started?
• 2:54
Uh, a buddy of mine lived in Detroit Lakes, uh, was with, uh, his girlfriend at the time, and in that time they've been married now.
• 3:02
But he got into fat bikes and, uh, they come up to Hibbing all the time 'cause their family's here. Mm-hmm. And he said, "Well, why don't we get together on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and, and go for a ride?"
• 3:12
So, and the rest is history after that. Right on. How long has it been going on for? Uh, this year will be year four. All right. What can people expect? What's... Uh, it, it's open to the public, right?
• 3:24
This isn't just, uh, Joe and his buddy going for a ride anymore, right? No. That, yeah, that was the first year. We had about 12 the first year. Yeah, a- anybody can show up. There's no registration. 12 beers?
• 3:35
[laughs] Oh. Oh, you, you. [laughs] Uh, there, there is a entry fee, though. Uh, um, it is a donation to the North St. Louis County Toys for Tots foundation. Oh, very good. That starts at...
• 3:48
Yeah, that starts at 9:00 AM at Palmer's Tavern in Hibbing. Oh, cool. And then the ride will leave promptly at 10:00 AM. And what, you got some kinda swag given away? What do you got going on there? Oh, yeah.
• 3:59
A big shout-out to Surly and all the, uh, sponsors. We got a bunch of stuff to give away, and that'll be happening at ride's end. Killer. So it, it, it, uh, it's something new.
• 4:10
The Toys for Tots is the second year now, and this, uh, giveaway is, this'll be the first year. Well, right on. Sounds like a good worthy cause. I was looking at his poster. Yeah.
• 4:19
I noticed we're, we're, [laughs] we're sponsors of this event somehow. We're sponsors, so. We're sponsors. Um, I think w- Sven'll be up there with a kissing booth. [laughs] No.
• 4:30
And if it's a lot of dudes, then it's just, you know, manly hugs. So p- uh, place Hibbing on a map for me. I, um, I m- live next door, but I'm not exactly sure where Hibbing is in the grand state of Minnesota.
• 4:41
Yeah, it's about an hour, hour or so northwest of Duluth, right in the heart of Minnesota's Iron Range. Gotcha. All right. So what kind of terrain can people expect on the ride? Uh, four-wheeler trails, some goat paths.
• 4:55
Uh, weather dependent it'll be, uh, some frozen water we can play around on. And, uh, we'll eventually on the second half of the ride we'll go down to an old, into a long abandoned, uh, mine pit. Oh, cool.
• 5:07
So it's, uh- That sounds like fun... it's good for the, the- Goat paths, ice, and mine pit. It's got the [laughs] holy trilogy of every, of what you need for a kick-ass ride.
• 5:16
[laughs] How, how deep is that, that mine pit? I'm thinking like that Anaconda Copper Mine out there in, uh, in Utah or something. That's pretty deep. Um, yeah.
• 5:25
[laughs] I wouldn't, I wouldn't say it's that deep, uh, but it's fun to climb out of. Yeah, I bet. So it'll, it'll give even the experienced fat biker a, a challenge to climb out of. Right on. All right.
• 5:37
Well, we've entered the lightning round, and, uh, that's when it's time for me to say that we have all of the links to this ride to the, uh, in our show notes. And to ask Joe, do you, do you have a beer there, Joe?
• 5:52
'Cause we're at the top of the hill. Yeah, I got a beer right now. Top of the hill. Ding, ding, top. [laughs] So these boys are gonna crack one, and, uh, I'm just gonna try and I don't know what. Oh, I'll look in there.
• 6:05
It's- You know, you, you know what was getting me? Was Hibbing. I, um... That's where, uh, um, Jerry Grillo comes from. Oh, is, is that where he's from? Yeah. No.
• 6:13
[laughs] So, uh, uh, it was like, I, I know, I know Hibbing. Making Hibbing famous. Yeah. Isn't there a big old giant fiberglass fish up there? No, that'd be, uh, uh, at Cap Toboggan. Oh, all right.
• 6:25
We got a big fish place up there- So, uh-... in Hayward, too Yeah, we got a big, big musky- We got a big fish up there... that you can climb up into the mouth in Hayward. Yep. All right, Joe. You
• 6:36
are the best guest we've had so far on the show. Today. Today. Well, well, that's- [laughs]... that, yeah. That'll, that'll improve here after I hang up. [laughs] Very good. Hey, are the kids going on the ride with you?
• 6:48
Hey, thanks for the time, guys. I appreciate it. Hey, J- No- Are the kids going on the ride with you? Uh, that's yet to be determined. Okay.
• 6:55
They probably could, yeah, they probably could do the first half, but I don't wanna crush their little, you know, biking spirits- Ri-... by making them climb. [laughs] They do it in the summertime. Cool.
• 7:04
They start with the little summertime- So the total distance is either 15 or 30 miles it looks like. Is that right? Yeah.
• 7:09
I just, I just rode it at the beginning of last week twice and, uh, the halfway distance will be right around 17. We were starting and ending at Palmer's now.
• 7:17
That hasn't happened before, so I've been able to add a few miles on at the beginning. Nice. Cool. Some bonus miles. See how I got some extra questions in there? Yeah, sure.
• 7:25
He was ready to go, and now he, he didn't get to go yet. Yeah. But I guess we're done now. Thanks for being on the show, Joe. Appreciate it. All right, fellas. Thanks a lot. Take care. Yep, talk to you again. Aloha.
• 7:36
That was Joe Sacco- Bye, guys... from the planet Gnometron 7 up there in the Iron Range, Hibbing, Minnesota. And, uh, you boys are drinking, uh, Lone Star and, uh, Banquet there.
• 7:49
Well, there were, yeah, there's one Banquet left, so. Well, uh, yeah. I, I went with it. Cheers. How's the Lone Star? [laughs] Lone Star is great. And I... There's a puzzle under every cap.
• 8:01
[laughs] So I gotta figure it out. How puzzling. It is. Should we take a, should we take another call? Oh, yeah.
• 8:06
I think we're waiting for Alex to give us a shout to see if we can get that going, but meanwhile welcome to the radio program, caller. Who do we have on the line? Hey, guys. Travis. How you doing? Good, Travis. Cool.
• 8:18
Hello, Travis. [laughs] Hello. Hello. Can you tell us how fat biking has influenced your fetish lifestyle? [laughs] Hi. Gomez. How's it going? Hi. Good, man. How are you guys? Good, good.
• 8:36
What's happening up that way? Uh, supposed to have some snow coming in, maybe sticking on the ground starting tomorrow night, saying, like, one to four inches.
• 8:44
Uh, obviously the higher amounts a little higher up on the hillside. So hoping we get some snow stuck on the ground and, uh, uh, just got the phone call. My Bluto, uh, has been converted to 120 millimeter.
• 8:58
I'm gonna pick that up tomorrow and go see what I think of that. Killer. Cool. What did, so what did it involve- Yeah... to, to switch it? You just took it to the shop and they did it there? Uh, yeah.
• 9:10
Yeah, yeah, that was, that was beyond my scope of mechanical expertise. I, uh, it was just the air shaft and, uh, it's like a $40 part and 40 bucks in labor, so not bad. Right on.
• 9:20
So are you going from 80 to 120 or were you already at 100? Uh, going from 100 to 120. Cool. Nice.
• 9:27
We're, uh- Yeah, just kind of, kind of felt flat at 100, uh, especially since I put, uh, went from a 70 to a 90 millimeter stem. Mm-hmm. And so I thought, you know, why not bump it up a little bit?
• 9:39
Rode that, test rode the Skookum with the, with the 120 and, uh, that really was awesome. Uh-huh. One bike whispering into your ear about how your other bike could be like itself. I gotcha. Uh-huh. Mm-hmm.
• 9:56
I, I'm following him, too. So, uh, we're actually, we're just embarking upon our great Bluto Wren fork shootout. The fork, uh, arrived in Price, Utah, in the secret testing grounds out there.
• 10:12
Dustin is going to- Awesome... uh, do back-to-back runs with super slow-mo of the forks going in and out. Out. And in and out and in. Yeah. So, uh- Playing all night... yeah, we have that to look forward to.
• 10:30
More, uh, more video and, uh, and that sort of, uh, product reviewy kind of stuff. What are you up to- Uh... friendo?
• 10:40
Did you, did you put a- [laughs] Did you light a fire underneath those, uh, underneath the slacker anchor- anchorojans- [laughs]... about their, uh, Global Fat Bike Day lethargy?
• 10:52
Uh, you know, I, I, I started the process today over at the bicycle shop. I did run into Christina Grande over there today. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
• 11:02
And, uh, she was busy selling bikes, so I told her we'd, uh, catch up tomorrow when I go to pick my bike up. Nice. And, uh, no, I haven't stopped by to, to harass any of the others yet, but I will be soon. All right.
• 11:17
Yeah. But yeah, she, she did say Jordy was, uh, not doing his thing this year. Yep. I, I, I pinged him and I was like, "Hey, is, you doing that?" He's like, "Nah, I got too much other stuff going on."
• 11:29
Like, uh, "Mind if Travis does it?" He's like, "No, that sounds like a good idea." And then I was like, "Hey, Travis- [laughs]... what's going on with that?" And you like, you like, you have done- [laughs]...
• 11:39
you have done a yeoman's job of n- of, like, seeking out everyone else [laughs] to do it, but, but, uh, you know, squirting away for... What? No, I, I, I couldn't run it. I couldn't possibly run it. Yeah.
• 11:52
[laughs] So it's just like a state- You did... dinner for the-... not pick anybody up for that... for the ambassador of Persia, man. And you're an ambassador. Right, right. You, you should know about stuff like that.
• 12:00
Fatbassador. Fatbassador. I still, I still handle that. Yeah, then I'd have to, like, get a Facebook page, and I've dodged that- [laughs]... for all these years, so. [laughs] Well- That is true.
• 12:12
Yeah, you would have to- Yeah... but you could, you could be almost anyone on Facebook if you've never had a Facebook page. Right? So you don't even have to be yourself. Yeah.
• 12:22
I thought, I thought they made you be yourself these days. Shit. Yeah, no. [laughs] If you go, if you go on as John, if you go on as John Smith, how are they gonna prove you're not John Smith? [laughs] Right?
• 12:33
I li- I like it. But if you go on as- Yeah... you know, Humpty Bump or something, that's pretty easy to figure out if your name is some sort of- It's like the Barry-... parody. Yeah. You know. Michael Hunt.
• 12:45
Yeah, I'll, uh- [laughs]... I'll plan on having some updates- I see you, P... for you by next week on that. [laughs] Yeah, Mike Hunt, exactly. All right, you're going deep, deep, deep undercover on Facebook. Yeah.
• 13:00
All right. I gotta c- I'm gonna have to come up with a good... You know, John Smith's pretty good, but, uh, I don't know. I know a lot of Steve Smiths. Hmm. I might use that. Dave Smiths.
• 13:10
Zinglebolt, Zingleberg Bimbleback. [laughs] Zingleberg Dingleback. Slut Benwallah. Clingy Bung Fingaling. Dingleberg Zinglebag Jerry Dorsey. [laughs] Angleberg Humpyback.
• 13:21
[laughs] Zenderberg Huringlemeg Endelberg Humperdink Wingleback Hengleback. I just ran across this today. [laughs] Oh. Those are all fake accounts. [laughs] And JK keeps going.
• 13:35
[laughs] He's got- I, I still have my Farmville accounts for all of these things. [laughs] Oh, y- he's running a farm on each one. Oh my God, yes, the internet is awesome. Yeah.
• 13:52
Even this show's on the internet. Yes. [laughs] Isn't that awesome? [laughs] Exactly. We, we should make fun of ourselves for that. Hey, you know what I figured out? I'm looking at here.
• 14:03
I'm looking at- I figured out this. I figured out the puzzle. Oh, it... It's way more important. [laughs] Now, now the puzzle's on the ground. Uh-oh. Oh, now he's... It's like the challenge.
• 14:15
Uh- Yeah, it takes good eyes to see it. Uh, I have, I have new contacts. Okay. Hey, they're painful for even, like, the 20/20 visions. Yeah? Yeah.
• 14:27
You have to have them perfectly lined- I'll, I'll have to have one in a little while. I can't tell. Hey, folks. Hey, everybody out there in, in radio land.
• 14:33
Let's take a break and, uh, when we come back from that break, we'll have Mr. Alex on the phone from RSD Bikes there in Toronto. [singing] So I heard you need a fat bike. Come to Zion Cyclery in Zion, Illinois.
• 14:47
We have all brands, Trek, Borealis, Salsa, Felt, Surly, and more. Yo, we have all the cold weather gears by 45 NRTH and Bunduga. Keep those fingers and toes nice and toasty.

• 15:18
You're tuned to Fat Bike Radio. Hey, welcome back to the show, everybody. On the line is, uh, Mr. Alex Nagar from RSD Bikes up there in Toronto. Uh, welcome to the show, Alex. Hi. Hey, thanks for having me.
• 15:35
Where, were you, uh, were you watching the game today? Were you, are you a Blue Jays fan? You know what? Uh, I don't watch baseball that much, but, uh, I did watch the last few games.
• 15:44
Unfortunately, I didn't watch the one tonight, but, uh, just because I was riding, but, uh, yeah, it's, uh, too bad. Yeah. We, uh, we came pretty far, and, uh, hopefully we'll do better next year. Sounds good.
• 15:57
Good luck with that. Yeah, thanks. When did you first discover fat bikes? You know, like, how long ago? What was your initial impression of them? That type of deal. Well, you know what?
• 16:06
To be honest, it was, uh, it was probably 2010, 2011, I think. A friend of mine, uh, well, I used to ride, like, in the winter all the time, and, uh, and one day he just, like, showed up with this Moonlander. Mm-hmm.
• 16:23
And I was like, I was like, "Whoa, what is that?" So, you know, I was pretty, uh...
• 16:28
He's already, like, a fast guy as it is, but now we were, like, all riding in some pretty heavy snow, and he just, like, took off that day and I just remember, like, everybody else was struggling, and he wasn't.
• 16:42
And, uh, you know, and when we finally met up after, uh, after our ride, uh, he had a big smile on his face, and nobody else did.
• 16:52
[laughs] So [laughs] so that's, that's when I found out that, you know, that, uh, there was, there was definitely something there. And, uh, yeah, and I just sort of, you know, kept my eyes out for it and, you know.
• 17:05
I, I never actually bought anybody else's fat bike. Uh, the first fat bike I rode was, uh, was the Mayor.
• 17:13
So yeah, and, and to be honest, my, my first, I guess to answer your question, my first impression of them, I think it's like, uh, it's like everybody else, right?
• 17:22
You're, you, you see the big tires and you're kinda gonna assume that they're gonna float, right?
• 17:29
So the first time that I actually went out, and it was, like, the first snowfall of the year, there was no base, and, uh, and I went out.
• 17:39
And I have to tell you, it was, uh, it was pretty a disappointing experience 'cause there was just no traction at all. Hmm. And I was like, "Why? Why is it not, why am I not floating?"
• 17:52
So anyway, uh, you know, I soon, like, learned that you needed a little bit of a base- Sure... to, uh, you know, to get, to get the bike going and, uh, and have a good time. Yeah, yeah.
• 18:03
Well, you, I mean, there's just some of those days out there where it's just perfect and other ones where you're like, "Why, God- [laughs]... can't you make this less slippery for me right now?" Right, right.
• 18:12
And, and in the beginning, tires were- Not as knobby as what we have available now. And taking Endo's- Exactly... and Larry's out on four inches of w- wet, fresh snow was like, "Whoa!"
• 18:28
[laughs] Exactly. It, it, you know, that, that, that was the learning curve that, uh, of that era. But then, uh, you guys created The Mayor, right? Yeah. Yeah.
• 18:40
Was that was, that was the first, uh, that was the RSD's first fat bike, for sure. Was that the s- It was... was that the first bike that you guys made overall? No.
• 18:49
We, uh, we started, uh, you know, making, like, gravel bikes, like flat bar gravel bikes. Mm-hmm. And, and we did, like, a couple small production of them, and we got, we got some good response.
• 19:05
Um, you know, we were, at the time, we were dealing with some, you know, challenges trying to find, you know, the right manufacturer, the right assembler.
• 19:15
It was, you know, everything was just kinda a learning curve and, you know, everything just fell, you know, on our laps all at once. So it was a bit of a challenging time.
• 19:26
And then when it was time to, you know, to make a bike that we really, really, really love, not that we don't love the gravel bikes, but, uh, mountain bikes is, you know, is our background. Mm-hmm.
• 19:37
Uh, you know, it was, uh... It sort of, it all made sense. Hm, cool. And The Mayor was named after Colin Ford's dad, right? [laughs] Yeah.
• 19:53
Yeah, your, your, your illustrious, uh, Rob, Rob Ford, is that who it was? Rob Ford. Yeah. Rest in peace. Rob, yeah. 'Cause Rob has passed away, right? Yes. Yeah, it was, uh... You know what?
• 20:02
We weren't sure what, what we were gonna call the bike. It wasn't e- To be honest, it wasn't exactly named, like, after Rob Ford. Uh-huh. There was some, uh, there was, there was some thoughts there.
• 20:15
[laughs] Right, but there's, it's, it's like- It's inspired. It's inspired by, not directly, directly [laughs] It's some tongue in cheek there. It's, it's completely cool and, and, you know, it's comedy.
• 20:22
That's hilarious. I have a friend that everybody calls The Mayor, 'cause he was actually the mayor of Rockville, and, uh, so- Oh, I see. Is that a FarmVille town? [laughs] I, I will go [laughs]
• 20:33
I, I will definitely taunt him with the TiMayor that I'm, uh, testing this winter. It's, uh, it's a beautiful bike. Um- Beauty... I'm slowly- Yeah, yeah, doing that, uh-...
• 20:46
preparing it for- Like, that TiMayor is really nice... yeah, yeah, yeah. Everybody that sees pictures of it is like, "I wanna test that bike. Everybody, everybody..." Is that something familiar to you?
• 20:58
"Hey, hey, Alex, send me, send me one of them TiMayors and I'll test it for you." [laughs] [laughs] Yep. Yeah, I beat you to it, Travis. [laughs] Are you still there?
• 21:11
[laughs] Well, just wait, wait until you actually ride it, then you'll have, like, a big smile on your face. I know. I'm, I'm completely looking forward to it, so. Yes. It's, uh, it's, it's gonna happen.
• 21:27
So tell us a little bit more about RSD Bikes. Like, you, you don't just make fat bikes, you make a 29+ bike, 20, the, called the Big Chief, and you call, and you ri- and you make a, uh- 27+...
• 21:40
27+ bike called the Sergeant- Yeah... that can also run 27.5 by 3.8s on it, so it can run that Trek size fat bike setup. And- Exactly...
• 21:51
you have a brand-new bike called the Wildcat, which, uh, you were supposed to send us. [laughs] Yes. Well, I, I was waiting for you to tell me when to send it. [laughs] [laughs] All right. So, yeah. Uh, yeah.
• 22:09
That's, that's correct. So tell us about those. And we also have a- Or did I just steal the thunder? We, we also have a gravel bike, the Catalyst. Ah. We don't wanna, we don't, we don't wanna leave it out.
• 22:20
It's, uh, it's quite a beast for 2017. Uh, but yeah, I guess in order, the, uh, the Wildcat is a, uh, full suspension, or basically based on a, on a horst link, uh, linkage. Mm-hmm.
• 22:33
It's got 100 and tw- 123 mil rear suspension. It's got a 150 mil fork with 66 and a half degree head angle. Uh, the frame is made from, uh, aluminum 6, uh, sorry, 7000 series. Mm-hmm. So it's pretty, it's pretty stiff.
• 22:51
Everything about the bike is, you know, let's call it custom. Uh, everything was designed from the ground up. Uh, you know, all the tubing, the, uh, the yoke.
• 23:02
Um, you know, and we've been, uh, we've been riding it for some time, and it's, uh, you know, I have to tell you, this, it's, it's quite a bike. Yeah. You told me that- It's really good...
• 23:11
that bike on your local single track trail blew your Strava, you know, the personal bests away, right? Yes, yes. I ride, I rode a Sergeant- Mm-hmm... a hardtail. Mm-hmm. Uh, twen- 27+.
• 23:26
It's 20, it's around 26 or 27 pounds. And, and the, the Wildcat complete is about 32 and a half, 33 with pedals. Mm-hmm. And I'm actually faster on the Wildcat than I am on my hardtail. Hm. Wow.
• 23:44
And, and, and that alone just, like, blew me away.
• 23:47
I was, I was, I was sp- trying to figure out where I gained, you know, so much time and, and speed and, and I think it's just overall the, the bike just pedals really, really well, carries momentum, uh, just plows through everything that you can, like, throw at it and, uh, and it's basically point and shoot and you're, you're in business.
• 24:11
Oh, cool. Well, we can't wait to, wait to throw our leg over that thing. I think- Okay... I think I might even have... Ah, you know what?
• 24:19
Probably the carbon wheels I have in that size probably don't have the right size hubs, 'cause is that a boost bike or is that a 190, 150 through axle?
• 24:29
No, it's, it's Boost 148 rear Drat, drat, too close- Drat, you'll need, you'll need another wheel set I'll need a w- fork spreader. No [laughs] just kidding. Yeah, I was just- So- I was just looking through the site.
• 24:43
That's, that, uh, Wildcat looks sweet. I, I, I got to the, uh, the Mayor here, and I see you're offering the Lauf fork now. Have you had a chance to ride one of those much? You know what?
• 24:53
I, I personally only had a few rides on one, but, uh, one of the other guys at the office rode one all of last year, uh, this year, and, and he's just loving it. He's loving the, uh, the weight saving.
• 25:07
He's loving just the, the little extra cushion. And, uh, he's not, uh, he's not interested in going back either full rigid or putting any kind of other fork on his bike. Cool.
• 25:20
So what, what, um, generation are you on on the Mayor now? Is this like the third or fourth version of it, the, for 2017? Uh, yeah, for 2017, we're looking at the fourth version. Mm-hmm. So basically- Lauf 4...
• 25:36
yeah, version four. And, uh, version three, which was completely redesigned last year, uh, and, uh, version four is just some minor tweaks for, uh, 2017. Cool.
• 25:52
So, uh, where do you see fat bike technology headed? You know, it's, it's hard, it's hard to gauge just because there's so many moving parts, you know, now with the, uh, you know, fat bike and, and plus bikes.
• 26:07
Um, I do see tires getting lighter in the future somehow. I don't know why. I just feel like this might be, you know, one of the places to really, you know, everybody makes...
• 26:21
Not everybody, some people have carbon forks, uh, you know, carbon frames, so everything's getting lighter and more nimble, but the, the tire technology, it seems to, you know, the threads are changing, but the tire weights aren't changing that much.
• 26:37
So I think that's, you know, we, we might see some, some lighter tires on the market to, you know, to reduce weight overall. That would be a, a... Lighter weight is almost always good. Right on.
• 26:50
You gotta listen to this show every week because we actually reveal what the next new hot trend in cycling is at the end of every show. It's actually a comedy routine, though. [laughs] Allegedly.
• 27:02
[coughs] It's, it's allegedly funny. [laughs] Right on. Excuse me. Sorry. Um, yeah, I don't know. Hey, are there any organized, uh, fat bike events in your area?
• 27:12
You know, there's like, every year there's, um, you know, Global Fat Bike Day. Yeah. And, and there's a lo- and there's a lot of, uh, you know, various trails that are having like small events.
• 27:25
So, you know, like there's one at, uh, at Durham. It's probably one of the biggest in our, in our area. It, uh, usually brings, you know, throughout the day,
• 27:35
uh, you know, 30, 40 riders, you know, in the morning for a, for a group ride. And, uh, and then throughout there's like a few other ones. Hm, cool.
• 27:46
You guys should sponsor a big race series and get a beer sponsor and have really scary clowns and, and stuff. [laughs] Yeah. Yeah, the scary clowns are, are in, uh, you know, are a thing now.
• 27:59
You know, maybe there's, uh- Are they, have they crossed the border? [laughs]... maybe there should be the next... Sorry, I don't know if they crossed the border, but that's a good name for a bike, The Clown.
• 28:07
Oh, The Scary Clown. The Scary Clown. So, uh, speaking of clowning, what do you like to do when you're not thinking about fat bikes? What's your other hobbies? Are you a big game hunter? Uh- Gnome husbandry? Uh, no.
• 28:22
You know what? I, uh, I like plus bikes. Does that count? [laughs] We're talking about bikes, right? Yeah, bikes. Okay. [laughs] I thought you said fat bikes. Okay. But, uh, what do I like? I like cars. Oh, cool.
• 28:37
I like fast cars. Anything with a, with a V8 motor in it is usually, you know, a good place to start. Uh, obviously I got a, I got a wife and kids, so that's, uh, probably first in the list.
• 28:49
But- But you put cars before that [laughs] No, that's all right When I said cars, I, I was tr- I was, I was thinking things, right? I wasn't thinking people. But, uh, yeah [laughs] But family. Yeah, yeah, kids, man.
• 29:02
Yeah. There, there's nothing better than, than the family. Wives, kids. Exactly. I think we should have, we should have it all. So, uh, I think JK has a question for you. What is your favorite beer?
• 29:16
Any good local brews in that neck of the woods? Only three hours away. Uh- Three and a half-ish. From here? Yeah. Across the... Well, no, no, from Detroit. Oh, right on. Yeah.
• 29:29
I was doing the math before and it- So it's five hours to Detroit. From Chicago, it's two hours to Chicago from anywhere.
• 29:36
[laughs] I just re- I, for some reason, I had Ch- I really had Toronto and Detroit really close together for some reason. I don't know. [laughs] But four hours ain't bad. Eh, they've done it. All right. So favorite beer.
• 29:49
Um, I don't know, I don't know if there's any, uh, like... Well, there's obviously, you know, a lot of, uh, brews. I don't know if I know that many of them, like in our, in our area. Um, I like wheat beers.
• 30:02
I'm a, I'm a huge fan of wheat beers. Oh. I, I drink all sorts of wheat beers, and, uh, I'll try them all- [laughs]... just, uh, just because they're, they're that good and refreshing. Yeah. I could follow that.
• 30:14
The beer refreshing. And- From the land of Skagit Water [laughs] You know? Cool. Yeah. Yeah. That's, it's good to know a style that you like because, uh, you can get really
• 30:26
off the beaten path with some beers these days, so knowing what's out there is a good thing. Yeah. Well, usually, you know what?
• 30:32
When there's more and more, you know, like wheat beers on the markets, like if you, if you look back, uh, I'm gonna say like five, six years, the selection wasn't the same as what it is now. So it's kinda...
• 30:45
And, and maybe it has to do with, you know, the import laws in Canada. Maybe, you know, back then we weren't, you know, privileged to, to see most of the stuff that we see now. But, uh, but it's nice.
• 30:56
Nice to have, uh, more than like two, three options. Oh, yeah. Easily. I mean, yeah, say what you... E- everything say what you will, it's just like with so many people making beer. Is it paint your wagon?
• 31:10
Is that what this is? Yes. [clapping] [laughs] We just, we just solved the ril- riddle underneath the, the first beer cap. Variety is the spice. Oh, yeah, yeah. [laughs] They've got these little pictograms.
• 31:21
I wanna be smart. [laughs] Yes. S-M-R-T. No. The beauty of Lone Star in the bottle. Now we have digressed. Right? We've, we've all- We've devolved... we've just left our guest hanging now- [laughs]... talking about...
• 31:34
Sorry. We were talking about beer though. That's why. That's true. Right. We just solved a beer riddle. Yes. Well, right on, Alex.
• 31:41
Uh, before we cruise on down the road here, is there anything we didn't touch on that you wanna talk about? No, I think, uh, I think it's, it's good. And, uh, you know, thanks again for, for having me on the show.
• 31:53
You know, love, love the show. We, uh, I listen to it, uh, you know, weekly. Torture. Or I try to anyway. Torture. [laughs] Hey, do you still have a sale going on, on some of your, uh, 2016 bikes? Yes, we do.
• 32:07
On the, uh, on the Tartans, the Big Chief, and the Catalyst, uh, we're now at 35% off. Yeah, I just saw on your website you use coupon code KICKASS when you check out. Yeah. There you go.
• 32:22
We'll, we'll put a, we'll put a link to your site in the show notes, and, uh, yeah, thanks for being on the show. Okay. Well, thanks very much, guys. Really appreciate it, and, uh, have a great evening. Thanks, Alex.
• 32:33
Talk, talk to you again. Cheers. Okay. Okay, take care. Thanks. Let's take a quick break here. When we come back, we'll dive into the Fatty Farm Field Report.

• 33:45
[laughs] Hey. He could read, he could read the next line in the commercial. Oh, yeah. [laughs] Becker- Yeah. Becker Gear is- I forgot it. [laughs] I, I'll tell it to you. Becker Gear is- Precision beer packing...
• 33:58
pre- precision beer drinking. That's wh- that's what it is. Find Becker Gear- Yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing right now... on Facebook. Bark, bark. I wanna say facebook.com. Yeah, facebook- Is that right?...
• 34:08
slash Becker Gear, I think that's what our thing is. I don't know. We have, we have the notes. We have the, the, all the hieroglyphics. And at beckergear.com. Dot com. Dot com.
• 34:19
Hypertext template blah blah backslash backslash colon Becker Gear. [laughs] Dot internet. [laughs] Dot big brother. Who needs, who needs- What's your, what's your Copie Serve address that we can reach you at?
• 34:31
[laughs] Who needs a dang commercial when you got Tupper Becker frame bag cow poke live- Yep... in the studio via the telephone. Welcome to the show. Oh, man. I feel so special. [laughs] Welcome to the show, Tucks.
• 34:46
Thank you. Thank you. Hey, sh- show him that puzzle. See if he can get it. [laughs] Oh, yeah, it's a r- it's a radio. I'm a freaking riddle master.
• 34:55
Once I figured out which direction, which what, which direction the up was- Yeah... I was like, "Fuck yeah." [laughs] Yeah. [laughs] That says it all.
• 35:07
Well, you just don't know the- So that's why I was called This Riddle... the, well, no, the struggle- [laughs] It's the struggle of getting Lone Star beer in bottles, and there's a little pictograph- Pictograph...
• 35:21
puzzle- Yeah... under each one... Pictionary or something would be the, like the game show... and some of them are kinda simple- But if I, if I look at this, I'll-... and some of them are absolutely mind-bending...
• 35:28
forget to do the show... and they're tiny. So you know we got- Obviously, you guys need to do a whole show on this. [laughs] It's pretty amazing. Tupper, do not- It's a-... encourage us- It's a 12-part series...
• 35:39
to start another show. This is only the first. This is our, this is our podcast- Well, maybe it could be a podcast series, really... about Lone Star beer riddles.
• 35:46
[laughs] They're, uh- But- They should, they should sponsor us then... before we get into that- [laughs] You know, if you, if you two actually, like, want a beer sponsor, we could probably arrange that.
• 35:56
[laughs] It's just I am just less motivated. I'm thinking more of like, uh, we should get a hot tub for here or something. I don't know. [laughs] Ooh, yeah. Ooh, yeah, Tupper said. That'd be, that'd be a sight.
• 36:10
I'm glad this is on radio, not video. Exactly. Well, we're all, we're all just wearing, uh, boxer briefs right now. [laughs] Feather boas. [laughs] That's the beautiful thing about radio. You guys are on one tonight.
• 36:26
Listen to you. Oh, yeah. Hey, you know what I'm pretty excited about tonight's show? What? We're gonna give away a freaking bike. Ah. A pretty kick-ass bike. We're- Got a contest. What? We had a contest.
• 36:39
Yeah, we had a contest. We're gonna talk about the winners. Yeah, them winners- Of said contest... has been chosen. Do you wanna, do you wanna thank everybody that entered, or should I do that? I think you- Thank you.
• 36:49
Thank you, everybody. [laughs] Thank you, everybody.
• 36:52
Hey, you know how we did this thing, we invited a panel of four judges to rate each entry, and after that Gomez did some mathy thing and tallied all the scores, and divided by 12, and naught naught plus naught, and now we're ready to announce the winners.
• 37:06
May I have the envelope, please? There you go, sir. [paper rustling] [laughs] And? Our third place prize winner is Carl Leach from the [coughs]
• 37:23
UK. [laughs] We could call him and tell him, but, uh, it's 2:00 AM over there. Uh, do you think he'd be excited to win or pissed that we woke him up? Or maybe a little of both. You should call him.
• 37:37
[laughs] That'd be a, that'd be a good segment right there. Yeah, we- You should wake up Carl. Our, our, uh, our fancy software doesn't dial out to foreign countries all that well.
• 37:46
We're gonna dial out later into some, uh, some other winners- I think you-... like, coming up right now, aren't they? I think you mean more, more bullets over there. Um, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, so.
• 37:55
[laughs] So, uh- So Carl, what did he win? He won a pair of Marge Lights, which allegedly you have somewhere, and now we need to send them- Ooh... to- They're right over by your bag... Out- Outer Phlebobia.
• 38:09
Outer Phlebobia. Under Cr- Cr- Crunchia. Oh, hey, this is... Oh, there we go. So yeah, we're not gonna call him, 'cause we're not mean on the radio. Um- [laughs]
• 38:23
But now, let's, uh, let's call up our second place winner, Carl Sanger. Uh, w- we have two Carls in this contest, but this one is with a C. Are you dialing? I'm doing something. [laughs] Like a C.
• 38:39
We're, we're awaiting Carl's answer on the telly ringer. Carl's our second place winner, and he had, uh, he actually, uh, put in two choices.
• 38:47
And as you're listening to this, feel free to scroll through the, uh, the show notes, because all of the, uh, all of the winners are going to be in the show notes, and they are lovely, and they're there for you to use.
• 39:01
Yes, use them. Hey, we got Carl on the line. Welcome to the radio program. Hi. How's it going? How's it going tonight? Good, good. How are you? You're... What's the deal here?
• 39:11
Why'd we call this [laughs] why'd we call Carl? I think the line in the script is, "Hey, it's Sven Gomez and JK, and we're calling to let you know [laughs] that you just won a 1UP USA Fat Bike Hitch Rack."
• 39:22
Oh, there we go. It's underneath the pictures. [laughs] Hey, uh, Carl, it's Sven and Gomez and JK. [laughs] So you won this 1UP USA Fat Bike Hitch Rack for your design, uh, for Global Fat Bike Day.
• 39:36
This is- Yeah, there's several, multiple ones. There's two, yeah. Awesome. So how'd you come up with that? It's a pretty clever idea. I like it. It's, it's kind of an evolution-y looking thing. Yeah. Um, I don't know.
• 39:47
I, [laughs] I was thinking about my progress of getting into, into, uh, fat biking and, you know, it's sort of a, sort of an evolution. It sort of spawned out of that idea. That's what I called it.
• 40:02
That's, that's what I called it. Yeah, it's cool. It looks great. You forgot to put the stage in there where Devo was de-evolutionizing humanity. Did you ever wear a flower pot on your head or whatever those things were?
• 40:15
I had a full Devo suit, thank you very much, and I still wear it now and then. So congratulations, Carl.
• 40:22
[laughs] You are our second place winner, and people in places that you had, like, if we gave you a pop quiz right now of all the places that we're gonna use this, you'd be like, "Where the F is..."
• 40:35
I don't know, some place like- Upper Phlebobia? Yeah. Gnome Tron 7, you know where that's at, Carl? They're gonna use your art, and you're gonna influence kids in a positive way, Carl. Uh.
• 40:51
[laughs] I think, I think we killed Carl. [laughs] I think Carl's... Carl, I don't know if he left. He's, he's gone. Carl's gone. Hey, maybe we should, uh- Stunned him off.
• 41:00
And now it's time to call le grand champion du Global Fat Bike Designer of the Year, Kevin Berger. Berger. But I'll, I'll call him. You, you do some chatter or something. [laughs] Uh, so Kevin is going to win
• 41:19
a Surly Moonlander in the Special Ops, where the Special Ops, uh, could be a Greenpackers fan, could be a certain tractor company there in the Quad Cities. Uh, s- green and gold.
• 41:35
S- it's a sight to see, and, uh- It's a sexy bike. Yeah. S- sexy. And now for something, uh... What, do, do we have Kevin on the line? He's calling him. He's calling. Hello? Hello. Hello. Aloha, Kevin.
• 41:51
It's Uncle Gomez along with Sven and JK. Oh, hey. Listen, Kevin- We're here in the Fat Bike Radio Studios over here in Milwaukee. How's it going, eh? No way.
• 42:03
Well, it's my duty to inform you, sir, that it's abundantly true. Your design is number one, and you are hereby- Ah... awarded our fabulous, prestigious- Luxurious... grand prize.
• 42:22
Grand prize. Tell him- [laughs] No way. That is so fricking awesome. Tell him what he's won. It's that green and yellow tractor-ish looking Surly Moonlander. [laughs] That's it. That's your thing.
• 42:37
Oh my God, that's awesome. Yeah. A, a panel- Oh... of four- Judges looked at all of the entries and there was no small number of entries. And, uh- Wow... you, you won, dude.
• 42:54
Damn. Wow, thank you so much. [laughs] I, I... Wow, I'm blown away. Uh, woof, and it's in my size. [laughs] I know. I know. [laughs] It's crazy. Oh my God, you guys made my week.
• 43:11
Well, you just gotta promise me that, uh- I don't know what to say... that you'll let me ride it once someday. I don't wanna be the first person to like- Oh, oh yeah... to ride it... for sure.
• 43:19
I'll, I'll ride it back to Madison on the glacial, uh, glacial trail. All right. Awesome, dude. [laughs] Congratulations again. Oh, thank you so much. This is great. All right. I, I was so... Woof. Wow.
• 43:32
All right then, uh- Well, have a great rest of your show. Oh, yeah. I can't wait to hear it on the podcast. Uh, okay, Kevin, take off then. [laughs] Okay. Thanks. See you later. All right. Bye. Bye.
• 43:46
All you kids out there in radio land, feel free to download these designs and use them for your global Fat Bike Day kegger, hoedown, shindig, soiree, or bike ride.
• 43:59
Hey, we'd like to thank Surly Bikes and Oneup USA providing our winners some kick-ass prizes, man. Really nice. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you, thank you. Thank you very much.
• 44:08
Hey, don't forget to send us your global Fat Bike Day plans. Uh, we've been keeping a running list on the, the Weekly Dose of Fat, and we'll share yours as well. Just send us the link to Sven at fat-bike.com.
• 44:24
And now for something completely different. [laughs] Uh, we got them Fatback links. Dangle Fatback links. Of which, uh, we have a pretty cool nomified Pugsley.
• 44:37
I love when people take a, take a Pug or a One by One and just pimp it to, to death. Remember when we did that back in the day? Pimp my Pug. Yeah. Mm-hmm. I came across that video [laughs] for some reason.
• 44:52
[laughs] That was horrible. What the hell were we thinking? I don't know. And, uh, this is John D.
• 44:58
If you live in the Great Lakes and you wanna know what, what kind of snow conditions we're gonna get in the next week, this guy is the shiznit. He's- Oh, I like those bars on that Pug. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
• 45:10
And then we have, uh, the Coastkid, uh, basically the patron saint of our link section.
• 45:19
And I think a cool thing if people are over there in Bruce's neighborhood of, of Scotland somewhere, he's doing a l- They invited him to talk about his, his website, his blog, and off-road cycling on the coast over there in East Lothian area.
• 45:34
It's, it's pretty cool. He's like internet superstar. He's the godfather of, uh, Scottish beach riding, for shizzle. Mm. And beyond. Mm-hmm. He's huge in France. [laughs] I'm big in Japan. [laughs] I'm big in Japan.
• 45:52
[laughs] The second time- So you can take-... this week I've been able to access the Tom Waits reference. [laughs] Yay. Oh, he's, he's living large. So, uh, what do you say we, uh, trip on into this special segment?
• 46:08
All right. What's the scoop on that this week? Are we... We're still doing trend things, right? We're doing the trend of the week? Yeah. Right on.
• 46:18
Our research staff has dug into the future, and this week's new solid gold hipster cycling trend is e-pedal assist hover cycles.
• 46:32
At ehummer.com we'll be covering all aspects of this quantum leap forward in omni-terrain cycling. These hover bikes float on a cushion of air, so they can go almost anywhere.
• 46:44
And since it's for hipsters, there's 130-pound weight limit and extra style points for thrift store gabardine air skirts.
• 46:52
All of the latest space age polymers and carpet fibers will be used from the get-go, 'cause hover biking, well, it's damn near flying, right? Yeah, but it's more than flying.
• 47:02
It's like back in the day in 2015, we rode fat bikes coupled with bumpered cars and sour beer. Oh, yeah, you can't e-hoverbike without shots of sour beer.
• 47:15
I heard the old golf course in Lake Geneva is gonna have a new hover park. I can't believe there's an e-hum along every weekend until Arbor Day. Sweet gabber skirt, Caden.
• 47:27
Yeah, I picked this up at Goodwill and, and sewed it on a sewing machine that I picked up at a g- garbage sale for 10 bucks. Let him over to Liquor Lyle's and get sour fist.
• 47:38
[whistles] That's a pays the card on Gomez for writing ridiculous skits about bike trends. Toot pip. Pip pip. Toot pip. That didn't, didn't go half as poorly as [laughs] I thought it was gonna go. Baah. Baah.
• 47:54

• 48:33
Oh, Lord won't you buy me. Yeah. That's, uh, I don't know any of the other words of that song. [laughs] Thank God. I do know this. We got a caller. Uh-oh. Uh, like, welcome to the radio program and stuff. Uh, hello
• 48:48
Greetings, earthling. Uh, hello? Over. Can you hear me? Over. Hello? [coughs] Hello, over. Is this thing on? Yeah. What's up? Well, we got Dave. I can... That's Dave. That's Dave there, folks. What up?
• 49:02
Are you guys out riding? Yes, we are. Me and, uh, Chuck Willard. What up? We're [laughs]- Hello? [laughs] Are you on the phone and on the bike? This is The Fat Bike Doctor. You- What? What? Right, you're breaking up.
• 49:19
You're breaking up. [laughs] Oh, hold on. Are you trying to hunt- Does this work?... down the elusive butt crack? No. [laughs] The, the mud hurt butt crack. There was a delay- For the butt crack... in your answer.
• 49:34
[laughs] Had to think about it. Eh, no. No, and stuff. Think about it. So where are you guys riding? Uh, we're in Alpha right now. Oh, okay. Doing some beer lab. Apple, Al- Alpha. Yeah. Apple Trail.
• 49:47
[laughs] How, how are the skeeters out there, Dave? Um, I don't know, they don't seem too bad right now. [laughs] We're just sitting here chilling, having a beer, so. Isn't that by the, uh, China- We're all right...
• 49:57
the China Lights? Uh- The hell are you talking about, boy? Isn't that in, like, the same park? They're, they're closer. They're at Burner, but, uh, we, we encountered some traffic, but we don't see them on the trails.
• 50:08
Oh, right on. The trails are- Yeah... towards the south, I think or something. I don't know. I'm just trying to- Yep... picture, and I know that there's a lot of big, big, bright things that would distract me.
• 50:20
All right, Dave, you- There is that. You, do you have a, do you have a- [laughs] Do you have a question for the bike doctor? Uh, why does my bike ride like shit? Uh, 'cause you're the one pedaling it.
• 50:32
Owner oper- [laughs] Operator error. [laughs] 'Cause we were stuck in the rain for two hours the other night? I don't know. Maybe. [laughs] Asked and answered, sir. Oh, yeah.
• 50:45
Did you go on the, uh- Yeah, we just kinda came on, uh, half a whim tonight, and my bike's riding like shit, but I'm having fun, so I don't give a shit, you know. No, I do know. I do know, too. Right? You know?
• 50:57
I'm [laughs] fully- You know... I'm fully aware of your, uh, of your situation. Shituation. Right. But yeah, the trails are nice, and, uh, it's a beautiful night, and we're having a good time, and

just stopped for a beer. Thought we'd call in, see what's up. Yeah. Yeah, we were just, uh- See what you guys are doing on a Wednesday night... we were just kinda, like, rolling out of here.
• 51:17
Uh, is, uh, is Chester Cheetah with you there, uh, riding, Chester Cheese? Chester Cheese? Cheswick. Who's that, Chuck Willard? Chuck Willard. Chuck Williard. Yeah, Chuck Willard's here. Yeah. Uh, all right.
• 51:32
That's about it. You want to talk to him? Yeah, put him on the line. He's, he's- Maybe, maybe he'll be more interesting than you. Maybe he'll, maybe he has a, maybe he has a fucking question for the, for the bike doctor.
• 51:42
What's up, dogs? Hi. Hello. It's Chadwick. What does he call you? Hey, how you guys doing there at The Fat Bike Doctor? We are fine. How are you? [laughs] [laughs] [in foreign accent] It's directly unto the flower.
• 52:01
Hey, do you have a question- [in foreign accent] Mr. Roboto, how are you doing today? Do you have a question for the bike doctor? Tell us where it hurts.
• 52:08
We'll tell you what kind of ointment to put on [laughs] on that runny sore. Point at the doctor. My groin, my groin area is very, very painful. Point [laughs] Just point at the doctor. Oh. It's always the groin.
• 52:21
I believe it's... I think it's from dropper post. [laughs] Oh. I'm not sure. Like tel- tennis elbow, it's like dropper post gooch? Ow.
• 52:31
[laughs] Well, I actually don't have a dropper post, but I imagine I do, and maybe that's my problem. When, when I dream about when I ride, I have a dropper post. Oh, fuck yeah. Yeah, with a remote.
• 52:47
Oh, I like, I like the sound of that. Mm-hmm. Did you, did you find a, did you find a bike yet for your ute? I did not. I did not. We'll have to look into that a little more. He wants to get the lad a fat bike this year.
• 53:00
Oh, I think that that's- Yeah, yeah... that's completely doable. Joey wants a fatty. You know, you know who I think you should look at? Maybe Reid, too. I think they make a smaller bike. Ooh, they make a 24. Yeah, yeah.
• 53:10
Oh, yeah? For sure. Yeah, and we just- All right... kinda made friends with them somehow. Yeah, and that's- Okay... they're, they're very reasonable entry level. You have Framed. You have Reid.
• 53:19
You got Cooker, man, and then you, you just have to find an independent bicycle dealer. I know Rainbow sells Reid bikes- Yeah... for sure. Rainbow Jersey sells Reid. Uh- Mm-hmm...
• 53:30
I can talk to Jerry over there at Rainbow Jersey for you, see if we can get you a little hookup on the giddy go there. There you go. Yeah, Joey's all about it. He's dying for one.
• 53:38
I think it's gonna be a sweet gift once I find something. Yeah. He's planning on slipping on his plaid jacket, and he's gonna sell you a bike. He, you shall fa- shall fat bike one of them things, sir.
• 53:48
I'm gonna portray his manager, and he's gonna have to come in, and you know, we're gonna pretend to really go at it, and then you're gonna get that undercoating for free. [laughs] I can hardly wait.
• 54:04
I, I- Factory undercoating. Are you gonna make Joe race this year, then? If you're gonna get him a bike, you gotta make him race. Oh, I don't think I'll have to make him. He'll be all about it. Yeah.
• 54:13
[laughs] He's like, "Get me out there. Get me out there." Oh, how many- Trust me.
• 54:17
I mean, we went riding for Sam's party we rode, and, uh, then, then I, I said, "Well, I'm gonna take you back, Joe, to Mom's, then I'm gonna go back to the party." He says, "Well, I wanna stay for the party, too."
• 54:29
[laughs] Right on. Like, uh- Oh. Yeah... you don't have a fat bike. Sorry. [laughs] Oh, you won't have that excuse next year, though, for Sam's 41st birthday. [laughs] I know. Yeah, yeah. He'll be ready to party then.
• 54:46
How long has he been BMX racing now? Uh, five years Time sure does fly So Chad, let me ask you a question. Who's your favorite clown? [laughs] The scary ones. [laughs] Pennywise. [laughs] Oh, yeah.
• 55:06
I like, I like scary clowns. We were just talking about that. I think for Halloween I'm gonna be a happy clown, 'cause you won't see any of them today, you know, this year. Right. Yeah, it sounds- With a-... big- Yeah.
• 55:15
They was like, "With a boner?" I'm like, "Yeah, a big donger." [laughs] Nothing's fun with a big, fat donger flopping around. [laughs] You won't see many of those this Halloween.
• 55:26
You're, you're sure to win whatever costume contest you go to with that getup. [laughs] Hey, let's go, let's get together all of us and go hover biking. All right? Oh, yeah. Totally. Dude, I heard that's the new thing.
• 55:39
Yeah? Fuck yeah. Heck yeah. All right, Chad, we're gonna wrap this thing up. Say bye to the, the clown with you there- Yeah... and, uh, we'll talk to you again. [laughs] Yeah. It's good talking to you guys. Take care.
• 55:49
Bye. See ya. Hey, hey, do you know what I forgot to tell him? No. To check us out on Instagram at fatbike.com. Oh, yeah. Well, if he listens to the show, he'll get that. Yeah. Did we do those previous ones? Mm-hmm.
• 56:04
We, we're done. Or, it... Do you have any closing thoughts? It's 8:59. Till when. One minute. [snores] Till then. [groans] T- t- t- t- t- t- till then. T- t- till then. I had something clever to say, but it escaped.
