  Speaker 1: Good morning. Well, as you start your Friday, I'm sure

  Speaker 1: you're looking forward to the end of Friday. But in

  Speaker 1: order to do Friday well, let's hear what God has

  Speaker 1: to say to us. We've been reading in Hebrews chapter
• 0:19
  Speaker 1: 10 in the Bible this week. Here's what he says today.

  Speaker 1: Now just prepare your mind because this is a bit
• 0:26
  Speaker 1: of a challenging passage today.
• 0:29
  Speaker 1: He says in verse 26, for if we go on
• 0:32
  Speaker 1: sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there
• 0:38
  Speaker 1: no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful
• 0:44
  Speaker 1: expectation of judgement and a fury of fire that will
• 0:49
  Speaker 1: consume the adversaries.
• 0:52
  Speaker 1: Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies
• 0:55
  Speaker 1: without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.

  Speaker 1: How much worse punishment do you think will be deserved

  Speaker 1: by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: God and has profaned the blood of the covenant by
• 1:10
  Speaker 1: which he was sanctified and has outraged the Spirit of grace.

  Speaker 1: For we know him who said, Vengeance is mine. I
• 1:22
  Speaker 1: will repay. And again, the Lord will judge His people.

  Speaker 1: It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands
• 1:33
  Speaker 1: of the living God.
• 1:35
  Speaker 1: Well, you can see why I said that it's a
• 1:38
  Speaker 1: challenging passage today, can't you? You know, so often when
• 1:41
  Speaker 1: we talk about God and about the Bible, we kind
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: of head to those passages that make us feel good
• 1:48
  Speaker 1: or that encourage us or, uh, in some way seem positive,
• 1:53
  Speaker 1: but God isn't just about making us feel good, is he?
• 1:56
  Speaker 1: He's about what's right. He's about doing what's right. And
• 2:01
  Speaker 1: he says to us,
• 2:03
  Speaker 1: I have made a way for you to be forgiven. Yes,
• 2:07
  Speaker 1: you deserve judgement. You deserve to face my anger for
• 2:11
  Speaker 1: all that you've done that has offended me, but in
• 2:14
  Speaker 1: spite of that.
• 2:15
  Speaker 1: My Son Jesus is going to go to the cross
• 2:19
  Speaker 1: for you. He's going to become a man so that
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: he can be your representative. He's going to live without
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: offending me, so he doesn't deserve to face my judgement,
• 2:29
  Speaker 1: and yet he's going to face it for you. That's
• 2:31
  Speaker 1: how much I love you. That's called grace, not you
• 2:35
  Speaker 1: doing what you can to try and earn.
• 2:38
  Speaker 1: My forgiveness, but rather me giving you forgiveness that you
• 2:43
  Speaker 1: could never earn no matter what you did, because Jesus
• 2:46
  Speaker 1: has earned it for you when He lived without sin
• 2:49
  Speaker 1: and then died on the cross, and because of that
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: I've raised Him from the dead, and you can know
• 2:55
  Speaker 1: Him today. I mean, it's just amazing what God has
• 2:58
  Speaker 1: done for us.

  Speaker 1: But then God says to us, as reflected in this
• 3:03
  Speaker 1: passage of the Bible.
• 3:05
  Speaker 1: If you reject what I've done for you.
• 3:09
  Speaker 1: It's as if you're trampling underfoot the Son of God
• 3:14
  Speaker 1: and profaning the blood of the covenant, all that He's
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: done for you and outraged the Spirit of grace, my
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit that I've sent into your life to just
• 3:25
  Speaker 1: reach out to you.
• 3:26
  Speaker 1: To let you know that I love you and care
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: for you and what I've done for you and if
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: when you realise yes it really is true God is
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: reaching out to me, God is offering me forgiveness if
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: you still say no and push me away and say
• 3:46
  Speaker 1: you don't want me in your life then.
• 3:49
  Speaker 1: I am outraged that you would do that, and the
• 3:54
  Speaker 1: Lord will judge, and as the last verse says, it's
• 3:59
  Speaker 1: a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the
• 4:02
  Speaker 1: living God. I don't want you to face that judgement
• 4:06
  Speaker 1: of God when you come to the end.
• 4:09
  Speaker 1: I want you to experience His love, His grace, His forgiveness.
• 4:14
  Speaker 1: He's done everything for us when we had done nothing
• 4:17
  Speaker 1: for Him. We don't deserve it, and yet God has
• 4:20
  Speaker 1: offered us forgiveness. Please don't reject what God is willing
• 4:25
  Speaker 1: to do for you in your life, because the consequences
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: are truly devastating. Say yes to God today.
• 4:37
  Speaker 1: And thank him for his forgiveness in your life.
