Latest / gasp! the pod / the eras tour finale...what happened?

- 0:00Are we the boy who cried wolf? Maybe.
- 0:11Wow. Hey guys and welcome back to
- 0:14GASP, the pod, the podcast for the gays, the girls, and
- 0:18especially the gay girls were Pop Culture Pod.
- 0:22However, the last few weeks have been taken over primarily by
- 0:25Taylor Swift. And as you all know, and I'm
- 0:28sure most of you all are, I'm a gaylar and we're gaylors, so.
- 0:33And that is pretty much just like the epitome of gay pop
- 0:36culture. So eventually we'll get on to
- 0:38other topics or whatever, but this is the topic of all the
- 0:43news right now. The Ears Tour finale was last
- 0:47night. Anyone catch that?
- 0:51And I just want to say, James, like hello, what happened?
- 0:58Like what was that? We're going to go through a lot
- 1:00tonight or today rather to kind of discuss everything that was
- 1:06those final three days of The Heirs to her.
- 1:09I'm literally recording this, like this is the day after The
- 1:13Heirs to Her finale. And we're going to talk about
- 1:16the surprise songs, my theory, my theories, and honestly, who
- 1:24even fucking knows what's happening anymore.
- 1:27Like I'm genuinely so scared. Like she scares me as I think I
- 1:31need to go fix my hair. That's better.
- 1:34It might not even look better, but it feels better.
- 1:36I'm feel like I'm still grappling with the air is to
- 1:38her. And I don't even necessarily
- 1:40like have conformed thoughts, but we're going to go through it
- 1:42together because First off, I just want to say that if you
- 1:46feel like confused and let's say it disappointed, I think that's
- 1:54very fair. And OK.
- 1:57All right, I know Taylor Swift works so hard, but this is the
- 2:00benefit of a podcast where like no headlers are listening to
- 2:04this right now. Or I mean, if they are like,
- 2:06that's so embarrassing to be like obsessed with hating this
- 2:10much that you're watching like hours of my podcast content.
- 2:13But it's OK to feel how you're feeling right now.
- 2:18Let's remind ourselves Taylor Swift is a billionaire because
- 2:22of us, OK? We're not hurting her by being
- 2:27like that was anti climatic. We're allowed to feel that way,
- 2:32especially because she set up this pattern of events and it
- 2:39feels very clear and intentional that she is ending it this way.
- 2:44So I've been seeing on TikTok today, there's a lot of people
- 2:47that are like, you're not a real fan if you're demanding more
- 2:51from her. And first of all, I don't think
- 2:54any of us are like demanding more, right?
- 2:57I honestly took that lyric and I can do it with a broken heart as
- 3:02like a Hitler lyric, but that's just me.
- 3:06I don't even think any of us like just the comments that are
- 3:09being sent towards people that were like, oh, what was that?
- 3:14James are so rude and in the name of like protecting and
- 3:21yeah, like protecting and like being like morally superior
- 3:25people are being like, how dare you say that it is not offensive
- 3:30to have opinions and feel like it didn't live up to random
- 3:38other concerts like last night. Truly could have been any other
- 3:42night. And I personally also like I
- 3:47would have loved a release. I thought there was going to be
- 3:50an announcement of something, but I also wouldn't have been
- 3:54like disappointed or I wouldn't I wouldn't have felt like, oh,
- 3:58if everything stayed the same last night.
- 4:01But she had more like sentimental speeches.
- 4:04It was a routine night. And it's not like we're
- 4:06demanding her to, like, cry and sob for us.
- 4:10OK. But like Gracie Abrams,
- 4:13obviously, it seemed more emotional to her.
- 4:15And I don't even necessarily need Taylor Swift to be
- 4:17emotional. Like, I understand Like, it's
- 4:19probably a crazy experience to end.
- 4:22You're going through a lot of feelings and maybe like you are,
- 4:28she's just trying to like put on a brave face.
- 4:31But my my largest issue, I don't even want to say like issue, but
- 4:35like reason why I was disappointed was like the lack
- 4:38of speeches, the lack of additions to her speeches.
- 4:45Her speeches through every single era were like copy and
- 4:49paste the same besides saying like maybe 1 little line of like
- 4:54for the last time this. And at the end it seemed like
- 4:58she was like pissed. Like genuinely it's not even
- 5:01like she seemed like sad or like or she was trying to like hold
- 5:04it in or like tired or anything like that.
- 5:06Some people were saying like OK let her live she's exhausted.
- 5:09It just felt like she wasn't present.
- 5:11Like I feel like she was disassociating.
- 5:13And I know we don't know her, whatever, but we're allowed to
- 5:16feel vibes and those are the vibes that we got.
- 5:18And I'll explain my few theories for why maybe she's doing this.
- 5:24Maybe it was intentional, maybe it was not intentional.
- 5:27Maybe she had control over it. Maybe she didn't have control
- 5:30over it. But one thing is true.
- 5:32OK, This concert has been going on.
- 5:35She is intentionally wearing specific outfits to flag
- 5:42specific things. She's been doing this from the
- 5:45beginning of the tour and she says it out loud.
- 5:47That's what she's doing, right? She said, thank you for paying
- 5:50attention to this dress. Thank you for like, I flag
- 5:53through dress like this is my these are Easter eggs.
- 5:56Like we know this, OK. And then the last three nights
- 6:01of the tour, she doesn't change up the outfits.
- 6:05That I truly believe is intentional.
- 6:08And there's so many people that are saying, aren't you happy
- 6:10you're going to get another film?
- 6:11My question is, why are we doing another film?
- 6:14Like, yes, I'm happy we're getting another film, but at the
- 6:17expense of her own enjoyment and our enjoyment at the last three
- 6:21days of the tour. Why couldn't she film in
- 6:22Toronto? I just don't get it.
- 6:24And I truly believe that that's intentional and that if she had
- 6:28control, she wouldn't have made that choice unless there's a
- 6:33larger reason behind it. It was the last night of the
- 6:38most popular tour in all of history, and she didn't wear
- 6:42different outfits. She barely added to the
- 6:44speeches, and I think there's a huge reason for that.
- 6:47Let's figure out together what that means, and we'll go through
- 6:51each surprise song and different theories.
- 6:53There is a possibility that her team didn't let her have full
- 6:59creative control over last night's performance or the last
- 7:04three nights of performances, right?
- 7:07She did wear the shirt that said this is not Taylor's version.
- 7:11So I mean what does that mean, right?
- 7:14This means that this is not like her version of what she would
- 7:18want from the heirs to her. When she said an album wasn't
- 7:21Taylor's version, that meant that it wasn't truly
- 7:24authentically hers. And then when she re released an
- 7:27album, it was like for example, like Speak Now TV, Speak Now
- 7:31Taylor's version, right? Is there a possibility that this
- 7:34part of the tour was not even Taylor's version or this entire
- 7:37or wasn't even hers? Like maybe she didn't have full
- 7:40creative control? She's quite literally telling us
- 7:43this is not Taylor's version, these are the same outfits,
- 7:47whatever. So is she somehow, like,
- 7:51rebelling against this? Is she?
- 7:54Was she kind of in like an annoyed, defeated mood last
- 7:59night because she didn't end in the way she wanted to?
- 8:03Possibly her team was like, we can make another fucking billion
- 8:06dollars with another movie and it could be virtual reality or
- 8:11whatever. And we have to do this because
- 8:14we have control of your brand. And maybe that's why she didn't
- 8:19end on a high note. Like, did she pick those outfits
- 8:22in order to make a point to them?
- 8:24Or did they pick those outfits because they thought those were
- 8:27the most, you know, like on brand Taylor?
- 8:30What I was seeing last night, though, is that these last three
- 8:35nights are showing us this era's tour.
- 8:38This is not like this is brand Taylor Swift.
- 8:43I mentioned this in the in the episode before this This era's
- 8:48tour is an era in of itself. And this era is Miss Americana,
- 8:52Travis Kelce. Love like loving capitalism.
- 8:56Perfect marketable Taylor Swift. Again, I I don't think we're
- 9:01going to know exactly why, but I do think that the the fact that
- 9:05she looked so defeated and was wearing the same clothes over
- 9:10and over again, either she was pissed that she was forced to do
- 9:13that by her team because remember, her management is
- 9:17beyond her record label. OK, Her management also includes
- 9:21the people that own the company Taylor Swift.
- 9:24Taylor Swift TM is a brand and it is a company and of itself.
- 9:29If you watch Miss Americana, you can see all the people that are
- 9:31around this table that make these decisions.
- 9:33She doesn't have full creative control.
- 9:36And will she? We don't know is this part of a
- 9:40deal or a contract she had to sign.
- 9:43We don't know who's a part of that.
- 9:44Perhaps her dad. There's this other, there's this
- 9:48other like older white men that are around this circle making
- 9:52these like informing her decisions just even over
- 9:56politics. So before you guys say oh, she
- 9:58had full, she has full creative control.
- 10:00Did you watch that documentary at all?
- 10:02That was literally after she left Scott Porchetta and Big
- 10:06Machine. So let's remember like who's
- 10:09also making these decisions. So right, there's like 3
- 10:12different choices here. One, she did this on purpose and
- 10:15we'll go down that rabbit hole. 2 she was forced to do this by
- 10:20her capitalistic management team and they needed her to wear like
- 10:25the classic outfits and they they forced her to say karma is
- 10:31the guy on the chiefs for the final night of the airs tour.
- 10:34I literally think that that is so unfortunate.
- 10:37I have to be honest. Like like the fact that she
- 10:40needed to shout out her boyfriend on the last night of
- 10:44her tour that started 2 boyfriends before Travis Kelsey.
- 10:51That's also like about her and her name and her legacy.
- 10:55And I think that's unfortunate. So that's could be maybe her
- 10:59brand telling her to do that or her her management has kept her
- 11:05under this brand Taylor that she's almost rebelling by giving
- 11:10them a bland show and giving us a bland show as like punishment.
- 11:15You want me to be brand Taylor Swift?
- 11:16Perfect. I'm not going to do any
- 11:18surprises. I'm going to be pissed about it
- 11:20because that's literally what it gave to me.
- 11:23So again, three choices here. Either it was her choice, it
- 11:27wasn't her choice, or she was forced to do something and she
- 11:29did that in kind of like the last bit of creative control she
- 11:33had. I do think the surprise songs
- 11:35were the most revealing of the three nights, and I feel like
- 11:39they are the only way we actually saw like the real her.
- 11:43And I also think this garden imagery of her at the piano and
- 11:47her like with everything stripped back, is the most her
- 11:51that we see on the heiress. To her, I think it's symbolizing
- 11:55this is her. She's the writer.
- 11:56She's going to tell us exactly what she thinks.
- 11:58She's not Taylor Swift, the brand.
- 12:00We're actually getting a peek into this Field of Dreams,
- 12:05right? So we'll go through all the
- 12:07surprise songs. And I want to talk about the
- 12:09theory that I have that she intentionally gave us a bland
- 12:13show, a bland goodbye, and that something is coming.
- 12:16So that's one of the three theories that she had like full
- 12:20control over this to show us that this is really the
- 12:23performance. And she can show us lies.
- 12:27But she was at the end of this performance over two years of
- 12:31performing as someone that she's not, and she's sick of it.
- 12:34And we're finally seeing like glimpses into how she's actually
- 12:40viewing this. And I'm sure it's like it's been
- 12:43the success of her life. But at the same time, I bet
- 12:47she's finally wanting to like be herself.
- 12:51And that doesn't mean going off and having kids with Travis
- 12:53Kelsey. These disgusting comments that
- 12:55I've been seeing are like, now she can go finally have babies.
- 12:59You guys are literally so gross for that.
- 13:01These are the same people that saying it's gross that she could
- 13:03maybe be gay. I'm not talking about like for
- 13:07like wanting her to go make babies.
- 13:10Wanting her career to continue is not rude to her.
- 13:13There's people that are as being like let her rest.
- 13:15Let her rest you. We have no idea what she wants.
- 13:18What I do know that she wants is for us to stop asking if she's
- 13:23having babies. She said this multiple times.
- 13:26I don't want to be like that 1950s shit.
- 13:29You should see your faces when you find out that I'm not having
- 13:32a baby. Like how many times does she
- 13:33have to tell us to stop placing this 1950s shit on her?
- 13:36Just 'cause she's at the end of the eras to her doesn't mean
- 13:39she's done with her career. I think she's only just
- 13:42beginning the career that she wants for herself.
- 13:44That's truly what I think. And last night, the saving grace
- 13:48for me, two points of saving grace, the surprise songs, which
- 13:52we're going to do, and the fact that she walked out the karma
- 13:54door. I know there's a lot of people
- 13:55that are saying like, OK, we didn't actually see that the
- 13:58door was orange, but that's the same door that she walked out
- 14:01last night that drops down. That is orange.
- 14:04OK, so it's the same door. OK.
- 14:07Either way, she exited the errors tour in a vastly
- 14:11different way that she exits every single night.
- 14:14On the errors tour, she usually drops down in the stage.
- 14:18This time she walked out through the door and practically ran.
- 14:21Like the happiest I saw her was at the final end of the errors
- 14:25tour. She looked like she was just
- 14:27working through it. And remember when she was
- 14:30singing Betty, she was like, I just work here.
- 14:33That's telling us again, like she is a workhorse and she is
- 14:36performing for someone else's expectations of what she should
- 14:40be doing. And then like, she can finally
- 14:42be free and go off, perhaps in her karma era and have revenge.
- 14:47So that was the saving grace for me that I saw her walk out that
- 14:50door. That at least gave me some hope
- 14:53where I was like, OK, something bigger is coming after this.
- 14:58She's not saying goodbye. She's like running out of here.
- 15:03And she is so happy and grateful to get to the next era.
- 15:07So again, this is all under the assumption that she had creative
- 15:10control over that. It's just hard to know.
- 15:12We're only at the culmination of whatever this heir is to her is.
- 15:16But that doesn't mean it's the culmination of like her success
- 15:19and how she views her success as an artist.
- 15:21But there's obviously a lingering energy left here, and
- 15:27I think that's intentional. There's like, this was not a
- 15:30satisfying goodbye. And I don't even think it was
- 15:33for her either, right? And I think it's because this
- 15:35heirs to her was bittersweet for her in many ways.
- 15:40She had to perform as someone she's not.
- 15:42She literally said, I can show you lies.
- 15:44We on the live chat last night. So the last three nights I've
- 15:48been going live and it's been literally so fun.
- 15:51But at the end of it, my eyes have been like like hurting
- 15:55because I've had this light and it's been like dark and I've
- 15:57been watching and I had to go to bed at like 3:30 AM every single
- 16:01night. So whoever was on the live last
- 16:04night, we were kind of clowning about a lot of different things.
- 16:09We were clowning about the fact that there could be something
- 16:12happening in LA and that because this really did not feel like
- 16:16the end of the Eras Tour. Perhaps it's not.
- 16:20Perhaps something is coming in. LALA and I went to that LA show
- 16:25that Carly was at her final night with the American leg
- 16:29before I forget where she went next.
- 16:32Doesn't matter. That seemed like more of a
- 16:35goodbye to me. But anyways, she never said a
- 16:39goodbye post to LA. That's been lingering.
- 16:42She also never mentioned Vienna. I think that might be for
- 16:45another reason, obviously due to like the terrorist attack
- 16:48threat. I still think she could have
- 16:50said something like after. Maybe she still will.
- 16:52But regardless, that was unfinished business too.
- 16:57Is that showing us something's happening maybe in LA?
- 16:59And that like, this is all going to come full circle.
- 17:02Also, let's remember her birthday is coming up OK and
- 17:07Thursday night is right before her birthday.
- 17:09So her birthday is on Friday the 13th, which which she's never
- 17:14beating those allegations, but Thursday night, she often
- 17:18releases things on Thursday nights and Friday nights, right
- 17:21midnight on Thursday night. That would be the 12th of
- 17:24December, right before her birthday on the 13th, which
- 17:29would make sense for TS12 and meet me at midnight and it would
- 17:33make sense for the whole clock to be finished, right?
- 17:37It feels like we're not at midnight yet, right?
- 17:42It feels like it's like, and then it didn't get there last
- 17:47night. And I think perhaps she's
- 17:49telling us that was the bland goodbye.
- 17:52That is not the real goodbye. And she's running into her next
- 17:57era. So maybe we get a concert in LA.
- 18:01Like that's maybe the actually Eras Tour TV.
- 18:05That would actually be her version of the Eras Tour, like
- 18:09Taylor's actual version. Also, this is kind of like a
- 18:13joke theory. Like pretty much very much a
- 18:14joke theory. But like I was laughing with
- 18:16people on live about it because and I was high and apparently
- 18:20like God live is so annoying. TikTok is genuinely like so has
- 18:26so much censorship issues because I've gotten banned and
- 18:29like gotten hit like almost restricted the last three nights
- 18:32so many times about because I was drinking wine or I literally
- 18:37said I have like a garden drink. Like I can't say that it's
- 18:42insane. It's genuine to I even if I said
- 18:44something gay, they said that was harassment and really so
- 18:46annoying. But I was high and we were
- 18:48thinking about all these different theories and I was
- 18:50like, what if she can't do anything until after the heirs
- 18:54to her is over? And that's why she was so done
- 18:57with this last night. And she's like, I just want to
- 18:59run through that door and like finalize it and do my version of
- 19:02the heirs to her of how I would actually do it and be my true
- 19:06self. And it reminded me of Camp Rock
- 19:10when he's like after the final jam, like you cannot perform
- 19:15until after the final jam is over or whatever.
- 19:19And then it clicks for them and they're like, Oh my God, we can
- 19:22perform right after the air. Like not there's the final jam
- 19:26is over. And maybe Taylor Swift saw Camp
- 19:29Rock and she was like perfect idea.
- 19:31My contract as the heiress sewer, but I can have my heiress
- 19:34sewer TV in LA and Karlie Klass can show up.
- 19:38I don't know guys, I stay clowning and I think it's the
- 19:40only thing that is good for us right now.
- 19:44And the only benefit of like Taylor Swift's like not coming
- 19:47out last night and like not releasing karma is at least this
- 19:49community has like can go on. You know what I mean?
- 19:54Like and not that we wouldn't go on like obviously we would win
- 19:57if she can. We were we are going to win when
- 19:59she comes out. But some of the best part of all
- 20:03the entertainment around this is like figuring out clues and
- 20:07figuring out with you guys. So the silver lining is that we
- 20:11still have more clowning to do. And I will clown for the rest of
- 20:13my life because I really do think that we're right.
- 20:16But I think that this girl is like severely under some really
- 20:18bad contracts from when she was younger.
- 20:22And I think she's got a lot of PTSD to work through.
- 20:26And so that's my weird camp rock theory.
- 20:28The other thing about the LA show theory is that she at the
- 20:34LA show, she performed New Year's Day and New Romantics.
- 20:38OK, I'm trying to like confirm, but all the like new searches
- 20:42are just obviously from the last night of the errors to her.
- 20:44So someone confirmed that for me.
- 20:45But I do know that she definitely performed new
- 20:48romantics the last night of the LA shows.
- 20:50And that was the one that Karlie Kloss was at.
- 20:53So that really Harkins back to it and New Romantics, like,
- 20:56isn't a goodbye song. So that felt like an Easter egg.
- 20:58And we can dive into also why I think that matches up with the
- 21:01theory that, like, perhaps this was intentional, right?
- 21:05And perhaps she's signaling us back to this, like, uncompleted,
- 21:09not having any closure over the LA show.
- 21:12And maybe she's going to perform.
- 21:15I don't know. I'm scared, but also defeated.
- 21:20Oh my God I mentioned before this bland goodbye vibe and this
- 21:25whole last night of the air store really felt like the song
- 21:28lol. Love of my life, loss of my
- 21:31life, whatever Where she says our Field of Dreams engulfed in
- 21:36fire. Crazy surprise songs, vibes,
- 21:39fire, karma, all of that. But more so the lines that I
- 21:43think is telling for this last night is the coward claimed he
- 21:47was a lion. I originally thought that was
- 21:48about a past lover, but I think that's her talking to herself.
- 21:53She's the cowardly lion. She set up all of these things
- 21:57for the final three nights. The yellow brick road theory,
- 22:01like all these dresses that she was telling a story over and
- 22:04over again, all for it to just kind of stop.
- 22:07She's the cowardly lion. What a valiant roar she had.
- 22:11She with excitement and the build up and the energy leading
- 22:14up to it. And then what a bland goodbye.
- 22:16The coward claimed he was a lion.
- 22:19It really feels like she's telling us look for another
- 22:22hero. I can't do it.
- 22:25I'm the coward. I'm the cowardly lion.
- 22:28This heiress to her is pointing to that and something is wrong,
- 22:33right? She cannot be her true self.
- 22:35She can't do it within confines of the heirs to her, which is
- 22:40also her playing back these straight eras and the marketable
- 22:45versions of all these eras. And she has to like run out of
- 22:50this version of her lover house that she's trapped in and find
- 22:55herself in a new era and actually be able to have
- 22:59courage. Like the fucking lie.
- 23:01But it is just so weird. All of these tropes that we saw,
- 23:04not tropes, all of these themes that we saw literally just
- 23:07vanished. And even straight Swifties are
- 23:11like, what? And I, there's a reason for
- 23:13this. I fear in my most fearing of
- 23:17fears that this 321 exile theory that I had from two nights ago,
- 23:23I thought she was going to play exile or glitch because we're
- 23:26seeing this glitch of these are the same outfits.
- 23:31Nothing is changing. I feel like I've seen this film
- 23:34before from exile, that she's still in exile and she does not
- 23:39have the keys to the castle. She does not have creative
- 23:41control. This is not Taylor's version,
- 23:43right? But when does Exile end?
- 23:45321 Now initially I thought that was going to end at the end of
- 23:48the errors tour and maybe it still will.
- 23:50But in my biggest fears, I know I said before that she perhaps
- 23:53had two false coming outs that it wasn't.
- 23:57She wasn't able to do it first time with karma and she wasn't
- 24:00able to release karma. And then the second time with
- 24:05the Lover era, perhaps this was her third one.
- 24:09And exile doesn't end until after three failed coming outs.
- 24:16And that pushes us back, right? Because I thought it was going
- 24:19to be after this. It felt like we're rising,
- 24:22rising. We're about to fall.
- 24:23We didn't go over the Cliff. We just fell back down the
- 24:25mountain. But I do think that this is
- 24:27planned. She plans things three years in
- 24:30advance, and I do think something is coming, but she
- 24:33couldn't do it until after this was all wrapped up, fully
- 24:36wrapped up. And the one thing that keeps
- 24:38bringing me back to that hope is the fact that she ran out the
- 24:41Commodore. Let's talk about the surprise
- 24:43songs from each night. And what I think that that like
- 24:46symbolizes for this theory that something else is coming after
- 24:50the end of the errors to her. And regardless of her management
- 24:54or if like which she had creative control over, I do
- 24:57think she has creative control over surprise songs.
- 25:01I do. So I think that's her only way
- 25:03to, like, really send a message to us about like, this is what
- 25:07I'm feeling. And I do think they have like,
- 25:09certain songs they made her play.
- 25:10Like, of course, they made her play Long live, you know what I
- 25:13mean? And like New Year's Day, but
- 25:14also New Year's Day Harkins back to LA.
- 25:17So again, I think she had songs that she had to play, but I
- 25:20think she has other creative controls over the other ones.
- 25:23And surprise songs mean something.
- 25:26They're her telling us what she's actually feeling.
- 25:28The fact that this was a bland goodbye, like has only increased
- 25:32my anticipation. I know she does that on purpose.
- 25:38And I don't think it's because she's going to get married to
- 25:40Travis Kelce, guys. And I really think that if she
- 25:42had ended with like a full, like, bang, bang, bang, bang,
- 25:45bang, boom, like I'm done. I would have been like, oh,
- 25:48maybe she's going to take some time off.
- 25:49I don't think she's taking time off, guys.
- 25:51I think she's a workaholic. First night, she wore her
- 25:54blurple dress. Obviously, she wore it three
- 25:56nights. OK.
- 25:57This is the first night of Vancouver, so the first of
- 25:59three. And she was counting down.
- 26:03And she's saying haunted and Wonderland.
- 26:06Those are not goodbye socks. Every single night she had at
- 26:10least one little gay shout out, and obviously it wasn't what we
- 26:15were expecting, but I still feel like this was her trying to be
- 26:18like, guys, there's meaning to this.
- 26:21She is not out of the woods. She is still very much in
- 26:26Midnight's dreaming of another world.
- 26:28Wonderland, right? She's haunted in Wonderland, but
- 26:33she's also dreaming of Wonderland in the haunted
- 26:35forest. OK, she's not out of the woods.
- 26:38It's Wizard of Oz. She's still very much in the
- 26:40dark, and it's almost like she's trying to get out and she's
- 26:44being fucking pushed back in. And obviously, as we know,
- 26:46Wonderland is a very gay song. Let's dig into the fucking
- 26:49lyrics. Come on, come on, don't leave me
- 26:52like this. I thought I had you figured out.
- 26:53Something's gone terribly wrong. You're all I wanted.
- 26:58Like, she's mourning something. Or maybe she's telling us from
- 27:01our perspectives what we're feeling.
- 27:03Like something's gone terribly wrong.
- 27:05This is, like, not what we expected, right?
- 27:08This is not. This is not the true her, OK?
- 27:11She's trapped in the forest. She's trapped in the woods.
- 27:13She's being haunted by this. Like Hope, right?
- 27:17And she's not able to see that full potential.
- 27:20And then in Wonderland, it literally is fell down a rabbit
- 27:23hole. You held on tight to me because
- 27:25nothing's, as it seems, spinning out of control.
- 27:28It's just like she's doesn't have control over this.
- 27:31Haven't you heard of what becomes of curious minds?
- 27:35They're shut down, right? You're pushed back into the
- 27:38forest. I should have slept with one eye
- 27:40open at night. We are in the night, we are in
- 27:42the woods, we are in the dark. We cannot see the light, OK.
- 27:46She should have known that she would have been able to like be
- 27:49her true self the last three nights at the era store and
- 27:51she's showing us that like we are not in the light yet.
- 27:56Perhaps that comes at the very end when all of this is over and
- 27:59when she can stop performing, when the era's tour stops, when
- 28:03we hit midnight. And obviously I don't even think
- 28:05she's she didn't sing this part, I'm pretty sure.
- 28:08Or maybe she did. It was all a blur.
- 28:10But she's saying she sings in the song too and love to think
- 28:13straight. Fact that she chose to sing this
- 28:14song on the last final three nights of an otherwise bland
- 28:19goodbye, I feel like is very telling.
- 28:22He also saying never grow up in the best day.
- 28:24And obviously that was a shout out to her family.
- 28:26But the fact that this is kind of like a sad naive, like she's
- 28:33talking about being naive and being like, don't grow up.
- 28:36You're going to realize like the pains and the struggles that
- 28:39come with it. And she's like, really upset
- 28:42that she can't live back in this naive, youthful world.
- 28:47Like, it just feels very much like defeated and dreaming of
- 28:52something better because right now, she's still in the dark.
- 28:54She's still in the woods. How many times have I said that?
- 28:56Now let's talk about Vancouver Night 2 and the surprise songs
- 28:59and how this is kind of showing the same story, the message that
- 29:03she's pounding into our heads. She's saying the tortured pose
- 29:06department and Maroon and torture pose department feels
- 29:10like on brand for TTPD. But like of all the songs for
- 29:13the second to last night of the era's tour and she says in the
- 29:17middle of singing Maroon, she goes, I'm going to sing this for
- 29:19the last time. And it felt mad.
- 29:21It felt like this was her only control that she had in order to
- 29:24like signal that this was gay. It was like, why don't you get
- 29:27it through your thick skulls? The lips were so scarlet.
- 29:30They were maroon. I was kissing a girl.
- 29:32It literally seemed like she was pissed.
- 29:33She was like, for the last time. And also we're not like talking
- 29:36about this enough. She acknowledged that this is a
- 29:40song she plays a lot. She's never acknowledged that
- 29:42for any other surprise song. She was like, I play this song a
- 29:45lot. I'm going to acknowledge it for
- 29:47the last time. You are not getting it.
- 29:50And this is your last time to acknowledge that I'm giving you
- 29:55gay Easter eggs. And if you don't acknowledge
- 29:58that you're all, I'm going to see your faces when I eventually
- 30:02come out. And you guys were all wrong.
- 30:05But again, like, this is only a sliver of like the truth she's
- 30:08able to put throughout this entire show.
- 30:10And she's still wearing the blurple dress.
- 30:12She's still dreaming of a time where maybe she could still be
- 30:15gay. She's still in the woods.
- 30:16And then she's saying like last kiss with like Gracie Abrams.
- 30:19And I thought that was kind of like a brand thing, like, okay,
- 30:22last time singing with Gracie Abrams, you know what I mean?
- 30:26That didn't really feel like part of the story.
- 30:29OK. Then for the final night, she
- 30:32sang New Romantics. She sang A Place in This World
- 30:36and New Romantics that I was like, oh, wow, New Romantics.
- 30:42Very big shout out to LA. And also just one of her queer
- 30:46songs about bearding and how this is high school and life is
- 30:52just a classroom and you have to pretend, OK, Like you're playing
- 30:58pretend and you have scarlet letters.
- 31:00She goes, trust me, mine is better.
- 31:05A Place in this World and New Romantics is literally insane
- 31:09together. A Place in This World is one of
- 31:10my favorite songs of all time. Growing up.
- 31:12I would like cry to it and like middle school.
- 31:16But let's look, look, look at the lyrics for a second, OK?
- 31:18Because they're actually very queer.
- 31:20If you put it in the context of this heiress to her, she's like,
- 31:23will anyone still love me? Like I'm still just a girl
- 31:26trying to find a place in this world.
- 31:27And the fact that this heiress to her is not satisfying that
- 31:31like, she's still like a lonely girl because she's not seen
- 31:35right now. She's still trying to find a
- 31:37place where she's seen as the person who she is.
- 31:40I don't know what I want, so don't ask me because I'm still
- 31:44trying to figure it out. What?
- 31:45Don't know what's down this road, the yellow brick road.
- 31:48I'm just walking. And she is like, hopefully I can
- 31:51get to it at some point. I do think she does have a plan.
- 31:55But again, this is like the heirs to her story.
- 31:57So like the end of this road is beyond the heirs to her.
- 32:00She's not yet reached Oz and I thought she would.
- 32:04Perhaps she's still on the yellow brick road.
- 32:07We haven't really met the real her her yet, and she hasn't even
- 32:11really met the real her yet. And like, at least owned it.
- 32:15And she goes, I'm alone on my own.
- 32:17That's her telling us. Like, I'm not with drivers,
- 32:19Kelsey, OK, Like I'm lying to you.
- 32:23I'm actually very scared and I need courage and I'm the
- 32:26cowardly lion. I'm still in this yellow brick
- 32:27road. I'm just a girl trying to find a
- 32:29place in this world. She hasn't like found her place
- 32:32yet. It's genuinely actually very
- 32:34sad. And then matched up with New
- 32:36Romantics is her being like, the only way I can in order for me
- 32:41to like, find a place in this world is to like play pretend
- 32:44right now. Because in the heiress tour, the
- 32:45only way to survive before I find my place to keep this
- 32:49scarlet letter, to keep my secrets and play pretend.
- 32:52We're all bored. We're all so tired of
- 32:55everything. We wait for trains that just
- 32:58aren't coming. What a bland goodbye.
- 33:00She's like, I'm bored of playing pretend and I'm waiting for this
- 33:05train to take me maybe to Oz. Like I'm trains that just aren't
- 33:10coming. She's like, one day can I please
- 33:13get to where I want to be? It's like sad.
- 33:16And it like, I really hope, like, there's a plan for this
- 33:19and it isn't just like depressing for her.
- 33:22Like, is she able to? We show off our different
- 33:25scarlet letters. Trust me, mine is better.
- 33:27Insane. We're so young, we're on the
- 33:29road to row and we play dumb, but we know exactly what we're
- 33:32doing. That made me be like, OK,
- 33:35there's a reason why this is a bland goodbye.
- 33:38There's something up her sleeve. She knows exactly what she's
- 33:41doing. She's like, it's not the same
- 33:43outfits. It's just for filming, you guys,
- 33:44Guys, it's just for filming, isn't She knows exactly what
- 33:48she's doing. She's a mastermind.
- 33:49Because maybe I could build a castle out of all the bricks
- 33:52they threw at me. Stonewall every day is like a
- 33:55battle. She's like the heirs to her is
- 33:57so hard to get through. This is her trying to get
- 34:00through this and get on the other side and go through the
- 34:02karma door. We're too busy dancing to get
- 34:04knocked off her feet baby. With a new romantics, the best
- 34:07people in life are free. I don't want to have to pay for
- 34:11my lovers. I don't want to have to pay to
- 34:14be in APR relationship. I just want to love the people
- 34:16that I don't have to pay. This song is literally about PR
- 34:19relationships. We switch sides like a record
- 34:21changer. That's her being like, like, OK,
- 34:25wait, Maddie Healy. OK Chavez, Kelsey.
- 34:27Like, she just needs a beard. The rumors are terrible and
- 34:31cruel, but, honey, most of them are true.
- 34:33There's nothing else to say about that.
- 34:36OK. Then of course, she mashes up
- 34:38Long live and New Year's Day, which is not surprising to me.
- 34:42Those feel like very like typical brand Taylor Swift
- 34:45goodbye songs. And then I love that she did the
- 34:48manuscript. I had a theory that she was
- 34:49going to do dear Reader, in the manuscript.
- 34:51I love that she did the manuscript in general.
- 34:53It always reminds me of like the lesbian master dog.
- 34:55It feels like her as a writer is telling us exactly what's
- 34:59happening and that we are going to eventually have this
- 35:04manuscript. We're going to have this story
- 35:05eventually. The story isn't mine anymore.
- 35:09Hopefully we will find out this secret, this story that she's
- 35:12kind of kept hidden from us. This like story that maybe will
- 35:16hopefully be completed soon and we will finally get.
- 35:19I would love. Also, apparently she sang the
- 35:21first song on the Airs tour. So the first surprise on the
- 35:25Airs to where she sang Tim McGraw and then Manuscript is
- 35:28the last song that feels very full circle.
- 35:30But I still think Manuscript is kind of like a haunting song to
- 35:34me. Let's look at the lyrics.
- 35:36All that's left is the manuscript now.
- 35:39And then she rereads the manuscript of the entire torrid
- 35:42affair. It just is.
- 35:44Feels like her being like this was a tough journey.
- 35:47I had to go on there to her like it was a torrid affair and the
- 35:51years passed like the scenes of a show.
- 35:54Professor said to write what, you know, looking backwards
- 35:57might be the only way to move forward.
- 36:00It literally feels like her being like that was all the
- 36:03backwards. I have closure and now I can
- 36:05finally move forward with my real self and release the secret
- 36:09story of the manuscript that I've had like bolted down.
- 36:12And the actors were hitting their marks, these PR
- 36:17relationships. And the slow dance was a light
- 36:19with the sparks and the tears fell in synchronosity with the
- 36:23score. And at last, she knew what the
- 36:26agony had been for. It feels like she was going
- 36:29through agony to get through this final show, and not because
- 36:32she, like, is going to miss it so much.
- 36:34And I'm sure like, it was an amazing experience for her.
- 36:36But also she's exhausted performing and being an actor.
- 36:40It was agony. The only thing that's left is
- 36:42the manuscript. One last souvenir from my time
- 36:45for my trip to your shores, to our shores.
- 36:49Like the fans, the readers. Now and then I reread the
- 36:52manuscript. But the story isn't mine
- 36:54anymore. After all of this is over, I
- 36:57think we're going to get the story of what really happened
- 37:00and what she was feeling, what this experience was actually
- 37:03like for her. And I don't think it's like
- 37:05horrible or great. I think it's like nuance.
- 37:08Like she also maybe went through heartbreak.
- 37:11Who knows with anymore. Is she even with Karlie Kloss?
- 37:15I don't even know. But I do think that there's a
- 37:18story here that we're not aware of.
- 37:20And I think we are eventually going to get the manuscript.
- 37:22And I think that this was agony that she had to go through and
- 37:27come out the other side of. And like she was running and
- 37:31sprinting out of the airs. To her, she was like, I'm going
- 37:35to get the hell out of here right now because I'm sick of
- 37:38being an actor on the show. I'm going to grin and bear it.
- 37:42She seemed like pissed and annoyed.
- 37:45And I think that there's a reason that it was anti
- 37:48climatic. I really do.
- 37:49And I think we're going to get more clues to why and hopefully
- 37:55actually complete this full circle and hit midnight on the
- 38:0012th or on her birthday. I know there's people that are
- 38:03going to be like, you're just changing the the goal posts.
- 38:06I'm like, yeah, I totally am. I don't know, Like, these are
- 38:10all just theories, right? We don't actually know her.
- 38:13This is what I think is going to happen.
- 38:16I obviously thought maybe something was going to happen to
- 38:18the era store. I think we all kind of thought
- 38:19that we don't know what's going on.
- 38:22We have no idea what kind of contract she's she's signed,
- 38:26what she's allowed to do, what she's creative control over,
- 38:30what the next era is going to bring.
- 38:31If this was intentional or not, we can only do our best with our
- 38:34theories. What I do know for certain is I
- 38:36think that this bitch is gay. And eventually I think we will
- 38:40know the story. And I think there's a very good
- 38:43reason why this was a bland goodbye little rhyme.
- 38:47This is not her peak. And I think her maybe her
- 38:51professional peak, but maybe not her personal peak.
- 38:54It's totally fair to recognize that, guys.
- 38:56It doesn't make you a bad fan to be like, wait, what's going on?
- 39:01She didn't seem like happy or like even normally emotional.
- 39:08Why did this pattern get broken? Right?
- 39:11Like are we the boy who cried wolf?
- 39:14Maybe. But who set that system up?
- 39:17It's intentional, bitch. That's the end of me spiraling.
- 39:22So here's the news of my podcast.
- 39:24Just stay here quick. I'm going to do a few more
- 39:27episodes and I'm going to do a wrap on season 1.
- 39:30I'm going to take like 2 weeks off, maybe like one week off for
- 39:34Christmas. Putting on this podcast is a lot
- 39:36of work. I know it seems like I only just
- 39:38like yap for like an hour and then I like I post it but
- 39:40there's a lot that goes into it. It's also expensive.
- 39:45It takes like so much time to edit and promote and there's so
- 39:49many technical difficulties. I love posting tik toks, I love
- 39:53making this podcast and I love going live.
- 39:56But I also would love to dedicate as much time as I can
- 40:01towards it and would love for it to make me money as a full time
- 40:04job and therefore it can be what we want it to be.
- 40:07So please give me your thoughts on.
- 40:11What you guys think about the possibility of me doing a
- 40:14Patreon? I don't want to make this a
- 40:16financial barrier for anyone that wants to watch this podcast
- 40:20at all. But perhaps because I was
- 40:22talking about on live last night with some people about like live
- 40:27podcasts or doing like live Q&A's or doing like special
- 40:32episodes. And honestly guys, I thought on
- 40:35live that likes got me money and because I made like $5 like two
- 40:39nights ago. But actually for some reason
- 40:42TikTok just kind of like randomly assigns it to you.
- 40:44So I feel bad because you guys got me like fucking like 300,000
- 40:49likes on live last night with like 200 people, which was
- 40:51genuinely insane and it does mean something like first of
- 40:54all, I appreciated it. It got me like top 20% of all
- 40:58TikTok lives. But that didn't give me like any
- 41:01coins, which is so weird because I know you guys thought that it
- 41:03was going to and I thought it was going to.
- 41:05So I feel bad. So thank you for putting in all
- 41:07that effort. That's not going to be my way to
- 41:10like generate $5 tips or something.
- 41:14I don't know, Maybe I'll just live like Venmo tips.
- 41:16I really don't want to like make this a financial barrier because
- 41:19I know there's only so many like Gaylord podcasts out there.
- 41:23But but if we want to do like live podcasts or live Q&A, SI
- 41:29may add that to a Patreon. So let me know your thoughts.
- 41:36I'm not going to make it like expensive.
- 41:38It would be like $1.00 or something like that, just to
- 41:41like help make this the quality that we want it to be and not
- 41:47delete all my savings. And if you're not able to like,
- 41:54give a dollar, that's totally fine.
- 41:55Subscribing, liking, sharing is always helpful.
- 42:00But yeah, I love doing this and I want to keep doing it for as
- 42:03long as I can. So that's all the housekeeping.
