- 0:00A new home means a new beginning of Fresh start, and for this
- 0:05family, that's exactly what they thought they were getting.
- 0:09But when a slumbering darkness from the past awakens, it will
- 0:13take them all to the brink of destruction.
- 0:16Will they make it out alive, or will this evil consume their
- 0:19very souls? This is the untold story of the
- 0:23Beckwith family haunting in Connecticut, also known as the
- 0:28Hell House Case. And this is not a story for the
- 0:31faint of heart. Seymour, Connecticut.
- 0:50Originally a farming settlement turned small industrial town in
- 0:54the 19th century, it would later become home to the HP&E Day
- 0:59Company, which would evolve into the Big Pen Company.
- 1:03Today. It's known for its scenic
- 1:05beauty, sense of community, and blue collar living.
- 1:10But over the years, having previously been home to several
- 1:14Indian tribes, it is also been the scene of numerous
- 1:19altercations. Altercations that have spilled
- 1:22gallons of blood upon the earth. And perhaps those who suffered
- 1:27never truly left. Our story begins in the summer
- 1:30of 1998. The Beckwith family is in search
- 1:34of a new home. The family consists of Sean and
- 1:38Bonnie, along with their two teenage daughters, Francis and
- 1:43Jennifer, and their young son Jeremy.
- 1:46They finally reached a point in life where they can afford to
- 1:49expand to a larger home to hopefully give everyone the
- 1:53space that they need, especially the girls.
- 1:56As they browse various listings, they happen to drive by one and
- 2:01are instantly drawn to it. The home has sat abandoned for a
- 2:05year and is listed on the market at such a low price it almost
- 2:10seems too good to be true. As the family steps out to meet
- 2:14the waiting real estate agent, they're all ecstatic except for
- 2:18one member, the oldest of the kids.
- 2:22She felt as if something was wrong with the house and she
- 2:25didn't want any part of the experience.
- 2:28But after a pep talk by Bonnie with her saying that it was just
- 2:32a house, that she hadn't even seen it yet, she eventually
- 2:36agrees to accompany the rest of the family inside.
- 2:40As the parents get the tour with the real estate agent, the kids
- 2:44take to exploring the massive 19th century home.
- 2:48The home is huge, and the tour itself takes a good while as
- 2:52parents and kids alike peruse the seemingly endless hallways
- 2:56and rooms of the estate. Once the tour is done, the
- 3:00family calls a meeting to decide if the home is for them.
- 3:04Both parents are in love with the house, as well as Jennifer
- 3:07and Jeremy, but Francis is the only one who openly says
- 3:11otherwise. She says that the house is evil
- 3:15and she did not want to live there, but after a vote, the
- 3:19decision is made and in due time the young woman will seemingly
- 3:23be proven right. In the weeks to come, following
- 3:27their initial experience of the house, the family moves into
- 3:31what they believe will be a fresh new start for them.
- 3:34Once everything is inside, they all start to allocate their
- 3:38belongings and their new bedrooms, feeling happy and
- 3:42excited as to what the future could hold.
- 3:45And with everyone getting their own space, their girls were
- 3:48particularly happy. As the first full day at the
- 3:52house comes to an end, the family settles down to sleep
- 3:56with everyone headed to their own bedrooms for the night.
- 3:59As they curl up feeling safe and sound, something sinister lurked
- 4:05within the darkness. Suddenly woken up out of a sound
- 4:10sleep. Jeremy bolts awake at a loud
- 4:13banging noise in his room. As his eyes dart back and forth
- 4:17to discover the source, he begins to hear a chorus of
- 4:21whispers, seemingly coming from all directions.
- 4:25This terrifies the young boy, who quickly rushes to his
- 4:29parents room and wakes them. Bonnie, although startled,
- 4:34understands that the home is a new environment.
- 4:37It's a big, drafty house and she thinks this is the reason that
- 4:41her son is scared. She gently calms him and escorts
- 4:45him back to his bedroom. Once the two arrive, Bonnie
- 4:49finds her son's toy flashlight, which had a tricolored lens.
- 4:54She tells Jeremy that whenever he feels scared to turn on the
- 4:57green light and any monsters that were there would go away.
- 5:02This seems to reassure Jeremy, and once he's calmed down and
- 5:06laying back in his bed, Bonnie heads back to bed herself.
- 5:11The two then drift back off to dreamland.
- 5:15Later that night, Jeremy is again jolted awake by a loud
- 5:20banging noise in his room. The young man sits up and
- 5:24shakily grabs his flashlight as he points the green tinted light
- 5:28into the corners of his room to make the monster go away.
- 5:32There is a massive shadow that interrupts the light.
- 5:36This sends the boy into a terror frenzy as he dives under his
- 5:41sheets with his protective light as he shakes, trying to come to
- 5:45terms with what was happening. His sheets are then pulled off
- 5:49of him and thrown by the window in his room.
- 5:53He screams into the void. Whatever this presence was
- 5:58seemed to know what it was doing and tormenting the poor child
- 6:02because as persistently as the moon hanging overhead night
- 6:06after night, from then onward around 11:00 PM, it would visit
- 6:11Jeremy in the weeks to come. This darkness seemed to target
- 6:16other members of the family as well, and next was Jennifer.
- 6:20One evening, as she brushes her hair in front of her large
- 6:23mirror, she is interrupted by the sound of whispers coming
- 6:27from behind her, but when she turns around she is only met
- 6:32with silence and sees nothing. She feels as if she's being
- 6:37watched, but either not wanting to admit that there was
- 6:41something strange happening and or not wanting to get too
- 6:44scared, she writes it off. Later in the night, as she
- 6:49sleeps in her bed, she too is jolted awake, but for a very
- 6:53different reason than her younger brother was.
- 6:56Her entire bed is shaking and she begins to feel a fist hit
- 7:01her through her mattress, something that should be
- 7:04impossible, as if someone or something is punching her
- 7:09through the bed itself. But on the other side, as she
- 7:13scrambles to get out of bed, she apprehensively glances
- 7:17underneath it and sees nothing. Jennifer knew what she had
- 7:22experienced as she felt fists hitting her from underneath her
- 7:25mattress, but she had no idea how to explain this to anyone,
- 7:31so therefore for the time being she decides to keep it to
- 7:35herself. Unsure of what to make of this
- 7:38interaction, Jennifer moves the bed forward and into a different
- 7:42position, thinking that this somehow would help solve the
- 7:45strange situation. But for how long?
- 7:49That was the real question. The force that dwells within the
- 7:53Beckwith home has targeted two members of the family,
- 7:57specifically the youngest of them.
- 8:00It seems like whatever it is, it's stirring up and feeding off
- 8:05of the children's fear. Two nights following Jennifer's
- 8:09initial experience, she's laying in bed talking on the phone with
- 8:14a friend as the girls gossip away having a laugh.
- 8:18Those laughs are soon cut short by the shifting of Jennifer's
- 8:22bed yet again. She is so scared that she cannot
- 8:27speak. She is frozen in place as the
- 8:30bed continues to move by itself and her friend continues to
- 8:35speak on the other end of the phone.
- 8:37Suddenly, the shaking stops, leaving the young woman ever
- 8:41more speechless. She couldn't believe that it had
- 8:44happened initially, but yet again a second time.
- 8:48Needless to say, she would not get much sleep that night as her
- 8:52anxiety continued to grow. The following morning, Jennifer
- 8:57can't take it anymore. She heads out of her bedroom to
- 9:00find her mother, Bonnie. She eventually finds her pruning
- 9:04bushes in the large courtyard of their estate.
- 9:07At first, after voicing her concerns, telling her mother
- 9:11that her bed was moving on its own and shaking, that she was
- 9:15terrified. Bonnie thought it was some kind
- 9:18of joke, but after Jennifer began to cry, she soon took her
- 9:22daughter's feelings and story to heart.
- 9:24Unsure of how to approach this kind of situation.
- 9:27She calls an emergency family meeting in the living room of
- 9:31the house, finally breaking the ice.
- 9:34Bonnie explains that Jennifer has been having strange
- 9:37experiences in her bedroom and asked if anyone else has been
- 9:41seeing or experiencing things that they can't explain.
- 9:45This question seems to open the floodgates and almost the entire
- 9:49family begins to divulge various experiences that they had been
- 9:53keeping to themselves. Bonnie would later say that when
- 9:57something strange happens to you, you try to rationalize it
- 10:02and ride it off. But when we had this meeting, as
- 10:05everyone was sharing their experiences, it became far too
- 10:09much to be a coincidence, finally bringing to light that
- 10:13something was very wrong in their new home, the Beckwith
- 10:17family is collectively anxious and scared.
- 10:20They aren't quite sure of what they're dealing with or how to
- 10:24deal with it. After some brainstorming, Bonnie
- 10:27remembers the names Ed and Lorraine Warren.
- 10:31She had recalled the couple from their involvement in The
- 10:33Amityville Horror investigation and really could only think of
- 10:37them when it came to anything paranormal related.
- 10:41Feeling as if this was their best bet, she told the family
- 10:44that she would do some research and see if she could get in
- 10:47touch with them to try and get some help.
- 10:50Jennifer, although only 15 at the time, was very skeptical
- 10:54about the investigators coming to the house.
- 10:57She didn't really think that anything could be done by them
- 11:00and questioned how they could resolve much of anything, but
- 11:03was willing to give the Ghostbusters a chance.
- 11:06Surprisingly, with the conversation happening earlier
- 11:10in the day, Bonnie was able to make contact with the warrants
- 11:14and shortly after the family meeting they would arrive that
- 11:17very same evening to speak with the family.
- 11:20By this point they've been actively investigating for over
- 11:2430 years and had been on numerous, now infamous cases.
- 11:28Upon greeting the family and stepping inside the home,
- 11:32Lorraine would later say upon crossing the threshold of the
- 11:35house, I could feel a very heavy feeling, almost smothering.
- 11:40It was very uncomfortable to experience, but alone live
- 11:44there. After an introduction to the
- 11:46family and hearing some of the things that they had
- 11:49experienced, the rain did a walkthrough of the house to try
- 11:53and determine just what could be lurking there.
- 11:56She wasn't told who the rooms particularly belong to.
- 12:00Stepping through the halls, Lorraine unknowingly makes her
- 12:03way into Jennifer's room, where she has stopped in her tracks by
- 12:07a flashing image. In her mind, it's the image of a
- 12:11demonic creature. She would then feel as though
- 12:14that the room was the origin of the heaviness in the house, that
- 12:18something dark had taken place there, and that many instances
- 12:21of violence occurred within its walls.
- 12:25Shortly thereafter, she would conclude her walkthrough and
- 12:28meet with the family again to discuss what she felt that they
- 12:32were dealing with. Her conclusion was that their
- 12:35home was infested with very strong demonic entities.
- 12:40Bonnie and Sean initially discussed moving out, but the
- 12:43Warrens quickly advised against that because even if they got in
- 12:47their car and left at this very moment, these beings could
- 12:51follow them. So it seemed like their only
- 12:53choice was to stay and fight. But this fight was going to be
- 12:57much more than they had originally bargained for.
- 13:01The Warrens advised the family that they needed to gather more
- 13:04evidence of what exactly they were dealing with before a plan
- 13:07of action could be formed. Therefore, they suggested that
- 13:11they all keep cameras by their beds and to snap photos whenever
- 13:15activity began and or whenever they felt that something just
- 13:19wasn't right. As the investigators depart, the
- 13:22family has mixed emotions, some of relief but also still
- 13:27anxiety. What if these things couldn't be
- 13:30banished? What if instead of their fresh
- 13:32start, they were trapped in their very own fresh hell?
- 13:36Unfortunately, although things were going badly, life doesn't
- 13:41stop. By this time it was November and
- 13:44Bonnie's mother had arrived to visit the family for
- 13:47Thanksgiving. She's been made aware of the
- 13:49recent events, but chooses to come anyway to see them.
- 13:54Being a very upbeat person, she was known for her rambunctious
- 13:58sense of humor, and to have someone outside of the situation
- 14:02who could make light of it all, perhaps, is what the family
- 14:05needed. After spending the day together,
- 14:08night now approached and the family needed to get some sleep
- 14:12for the big holiday. The following morning.
- 14:15As Bonnie's mother retired to her room for the evening, she
- 14:19took her medication and decided to unwind to some TV.
- 14:23As she sits on the edge of the bed watching the TV, it suddenly
- 14:28turns off. Thinking perhaps it was going
- 14:31out or something of the sort, she clicked it back on to
- 14:35continue to watch her program. Several minutes would pass by
- 14:39and all would seem fine until the TV shut off again.
- 14:43Glancing at the TV when this happens, she sees standing in
- 14:48the corner of the room and the reflection of the blank screen,
- 14:523 entities and she cannot make out their faces.
- 14:56However, upon seeing the figures, she is startled to say
- 15:01the least. She bolts to the left of her bed
- 15:04and faces the direction that they would have been.
- 15:07But instead of coming face to face with whatever they were,
- 15:11she's meant by nothing. Although she doesn't see them,
- 15:15every hair on her entire body is on end.
- 15:18It's as if electricity permeates the air.
- 15:21She barely gets any sleep. She's in fact so scared that she
- 15:26doesn't stay for the holiday. She leaves the following morning
- 15:30before any festivities can begin.
- 15:33Following her grandmother's departure, Jennifer takes it
- 15:36upon herself to take photos of the room that she was staying
- 15:40in. The rest of the house was about
- 15:4270 degrees, but this room, although upstairs, felt like it
- 15:47was only 35 degrees. It was freezing.
- 15:51You could see your breath hang in the air.
- 15:54She snaps several photos and quickly gets out of there.
- 15:58Several days later, as promised, the Warrens arrived for a second
- 16:03time, and this time they're accompanied by a crew to begin a
- 16:07proper investigation of the home to find out what was dwelling
- 16:11inside of it. Among the crew accompanying the
- 16:14Warrens is a psychic medium by the name of Lee.
- 16:18Her task was to try and make contact with whatever these
- 16:21entities were to figure out why and how they were there.
- 16:26The Beckwiths have arranged for their son Jeremy to stay with
- 16:29nearby relatives, but their two teenage girls are allowed to
- 16:33stay and experience the investigation alongside the
- 16:37crew. The Warrens again interview
- 16:39everyone about their experiences in the house.
- 16:42They're also made aware of Bonnie's mother's recent
- 16:45experiences as well. After doing this, they decide to
- 16:49begin looking through the family's photos that have been
- 16:52taken prior to their second arrival.
- 16:54At first, nothing seems out of the ordinary until they reach
- 16:59this photo. Bonnie, who had thought it was
- 17:02some kind of glitch in the film, hadn't thought much of it.
- 17:06The Lorraine Warren felt heavily otherwise.
- 17:09She told Bonnie that not only was this the manifestation of a
- 17:13demonic entity, but that it was a high level entity as well.
- 17:17As the family starts to digest this information, almost as soon
- 17:22as the words leave Lorraine's lips, Lee begins to erratically
- 17:26shake and tremble, familiar with this protocol, the Warren's hand
- 17:31her a pen and paper for her to perform automatic writing, a
- 17:36practice where the spirits of the dead allegedly take control
- 17:40over a person's body to convey a message.
- 17:43Automatic riding, according to Lorraine Warren, in a house such
- 17:47as this one, is extremely dangerous because it's an open
- 17:51door and you never know who or what will come through once Lee
- 17:56is finished riding. As her shakes come to a
- 17:59controllable level, the paper reads.
- 18:03Get out. And that's repeated several
- 18:05times, along with the final line of You Don't Belong Here.
- 18:11This scares everyone in the room, but especially the
- 18:14Beckwiths. They knew that these entities
- 18:16wanted them scared, but now they know for sure that they don't
- 18:20want their presence there at all.
- 18:22Lee is mentally and physically taxed, and given the time of the
- 18:26night, all of this concludes the two parties decide to part ways.
- 18:31The Warrens, Lee and some of their crew depart, but two
- 18:35additional investigators that were with them choose to stay
- 18:38overnight to collect additional data.
- 18:41They set up multiple cameras and microphones, but I've reserved
- 18:45the bulk of the equipment for Jennifer's room or the most
- 18:48violent activity has occurred. After setting everything up, the
- 18:52kitchen is essentially the main hub, and here the investigators
- 18:56and the Beckwiths meet to talk and monitor things.
- 19:00Although the warrants have convinced them to stay,
- 19:03something wants them out. Torn between fight or flight as
- 19:08the family hashes out what to do next, Bonnie suddenly loses her
- 19:13breath. It's as if she's frozen or
- 19:16something arctically cold has passed through her very soul.
- 19:21As the family tries to figure out what's taking place,
- 19:24Jennifer goes into comfort her mother when she too is overtaken
- 19:29by the very same experience. As the activity begins to
- 19:33dissipate, the Beckwiths are left with more questions than
- 19:37answers. In the meantime.
- 19:39Shortly following the incident, the two left overnight by the
- 19:43warns begin to pick up unnatural noises originating from
- 19:47Jennifer's room. The sound of flapping wings like
- 19:51those of multiple birds could be heard.
- 19:54However, there are no birds and the room is completely sealed as
- 20:00they focus on just what could be causing this strangeness.
- 20:04Banging noises begin in the very same room, but almost
- 20:07immediately make their way to where the investigators are in
- 20:10the kitchen. The sounds themselves are coming
- 20:13from inside of the walls and then not just the walls.
- 20:17They soon begin coming from the ceiling above and even the floor
- 20:21underneath their very feet. The two would make their way
- 20:25back into Jennifer's bedroom. Where the activity was
- 20:27originating from and they begin to ask a series of provoking
- 20:31questions, hoping to interact with the entities present to try
- 20:36and decipher if the haunting was intelligent or not.
- 20:39Asking multiple questions with one knock for yes and two knocks
- 20:44for no, they are soon answered time and time again through
- 20:49their inquiries. They believe that there are two
- 20:52human spirits residing within the home and one non human
- 20:56spirit. Basing their knowledge off of
- 20:58previous cases that they had worked on, they believed that
- 21:01this entity was attacking and keeping the two human spirits
- 21:05from passing on. Demonic entities hate human
- 21:08beings just as much when they are alive and death.
- 21:12They also believe that if they could get rid of the demon, it
- 21:15would ultimately get rid of the other two spirits as well.
- 21:19The activity would continue the majority of the night until
- 21:23Daybreak the following morning. Once the researchers bid
- 21:27farewell to the family for the day, they would take their
- 21:30findings to the Warrens and together along with the original
- 21:34crew, Lee included, they would all return two days later to
- 21:39attempt to make contact with the inhuman spirit.
- 21:44As they discussed the new developments in the kitchen, the
- 21:47Warrens are also made aware of the strange experience that
- 21:50Bonnie and Jennifer had shared, as well as the sounds and
- 21:54intelligent responses, as well as the convictions of the two
- 21:57men who had stayed overnight to document on their behalf.
- 22:01Suddenly, Lee begins to shake yet again.
- 22:05As she's handed paper and a pen, she begins to furiously write.
- 22:10As she writes, the Warrens begin to ask the spirit that is now
- 22:14channeling through her just what it wanted and why it was there
- 22:19specifically. Ed Warren was inquiring.
- 22:22He again asked who was there, what did it want, and why was it
- 22:27there. He also asked what year it was.
- 22:31Upon this last question leaving Ed's lips, Lee suddenly stopped
- 22:35writing and dropped the pen. Then twitching, she answered him
- 22:40in a voice that was not her own. A deep and raspy voice replied
- 22:45to Ed and said why are you questioning me?
- 22:49She then nastily told him to shut his mouth and that he had
- 22:53no right. With these words, Lee threw back
- 22:57her chair and shoved the table that they were all sitting at
- 23:00back towards Ed, scooting him backwards and pinning him
- 23:04against the wall. It's important to note that this
- 23:07table was solid oak and very heavy and that Lee was a rather
- 23:12petite woman. This would have been challenging
- 23:14for anyone, let alone a small woman to accomplish and moving,
- 23:18let alone at such a rapid pace. It takes 3 grown men to hold Lee
- 23:23back from continuing to jam the table into Ed.
- 23:26Several minutes later, after this freakish occurrence, Lee
- 23:30finally seems to return to her normal self after making sure
- 23:34that Ed was Okay. The group all looks to see what
- 23:37was written on the notepad by Lee when she was in her trance.
- 23:42They read the names Anna, then George Robertson, as well as a
- 23:46partially written year of 188, and the last year was scribbled
- 23:52and incomprehensible. At the time.
- 23:54The names in the year didn't mean anything to any of them.
- 23:58As the dust settled and the Warrens and the crew left for
- 24:01that night, the family all slept together in the living room as a
- 24:04single unit. The Warrens had also recommended
- 24:07this to keep any one member from being targeted.
- 24:11They also said that the only way to resolve this haunting would
- 24:15be to face it together, head on as a family.
- 24:19This night they all seem to sleep normally as the wind blows
- 24:23outside and the crisp autumn moon shines its light above
- 24:28them. The following morning, Jennifer
- 24:31and Bonnie head to the local library to try and research the
- 24:34names that Lee had written down to try and gain some sort of
- 24:38insight into just who these people were, or if they existed
- 24:42at all. They try several starting points
- 24:45but don't find anything at first.
- 24:48But as they read through old property records dating back to
- 24:51the 1800s, they are shocked by what they find.
- 24:55A man named George Robertson owned their very same home in
- 25:00the year 1888. This discovery intrigues and
- 25:04bewilders both of them. They now know that Lee's
- 25:07automatic riding was not a show, and now that they had some real
- 25:11concrete information to work with, perhaps it could hold the
- 25:14key to solving the paranormal crisis they now found themselves
- 25:18in. To further solidify the
- 25:21existence of the man whose name they now had emblazoned in their
- 25:24minds, they find themselves in an old graveyard about 10
- 25:28minutes away from their home. Upon walking onto the lot, the
- 25:32first gravestone they read says George Robertson, born 1860,
- 25:39died 1927. After letting this information
- 25:42sink in, Bonnie and Jennifer would further inquire about
- 25:46George's life and would also try to discover additional
- 25:49information about the name Anna that we had also written down,
- 25:54but unfortunately they were not able to find anything else out.
- 25:58They would attribute this to a great flood that had overtaken
- 26:01the town in the year 1955, and this flood destroyed many
- 26:05records, among lots of other things in the town.
- 26:08Perhaps any additional information became lost within
- 26:11its murky waters after the visit to the graveyard.
- 26:15The family seems to have several days of uneasy peace within
- 26:18their house. Christmas time was just around
- 26:21the corner, so together the children were wrapping gifts and
- 26:25the oldest child's bedroom. This cheerful and wholesome
- 26:29time, however, was soon interrupted by the shaking of a
- 26:33doorknob to the closet. At first they thought their
- 26:37minds were playing tricks on them, and not wanting to scare
- 26:40Jeremy, they tried to play the incident off, But as they calmed
- 26:44him, the doorknob began to shake yet again.
- 26:49Then, like the flip of a switch, all the doorknobs in the room
- 26:53all began to violently shake, as if there were people at each one
- 26:57of the doors desperately trying to come in.
- 27:00This panicked the children, who all ran out of the room and
- 27:03downstairs to get their parents as fast as they possibly could.
- 27:08Seeing the fear in her children's eyes leads Bonnie to
- 27:10take immediate action. She calls Lorraine Warren, who
- 27:14arranges to have a priest come out that day and bless the
- 27:17house, hoping to quell things as much as possible for the family.
- 27:22The Beckwiths desperately hope that the Blessing will bring an
- 27:25everlasting peace to their home within several hours.
- 27:29The priest arrives along with Lorraine Warren as he blesses
- 27:32the home, flicking holy water upon the walls, the rain
- 27:36ponders. Is this going to be enough to
- 27:38quell the demon, or is it just going to anger it?
- 27:42When the priest is finished with his blessing, the oppressive fog
- 27:46that was Once Upon them seems to lift, but will it stay away?
- 27:51Two days after this interaction, Bonnie, seemingly out of the
- 27:55blue, is compelled to draw. She keeps getting flashing
- 27:59images in her head, and it seems like the only way to relieve
- 28:02this is to transfer them as best she can onto paper.
- 28:07She soon begins isolating herself.
- 28:09To do this, she keeps seeing the flashing image of a tree and
- 28:13begins to draw it over and over again.
- 28:17As the days pass, the compulsion gets worse.
- 28:21She is soon overcome with intense sorrow that she can't
- 28:23explain, that she draws the images she continues to see in
- 28:27her head. Then it all clicks for her.
- 28:30She believed that she was being influenced by Anna.
- 28:34Given her horrendous sorrow, she thought that Anna had
- 28:38experienced the loss of a very dear loved one, and it broke
- 28:42her. So as she began to draw her on
- 28:44paper, she cried the entire time, as if she was mourning.
- 28:49Even once she got Anna drawn, she knew that whatever was
- 28:53happening wasn't over as time continued to pass.
- 28:57The family continues to sleep in the living room day after day,
- 29:01only managing a few hours of sleep a night and still having
- 29:05to go to work. Bonnie, a registered nurse, and
- 29:09Sean, a heating and air repair technician, were struggling to
- 29:13keep it all together. The lack of sleep, long hours,
- 29:17juggling of schedules on top of the toll the anxiety was taking
- 29:21on them, made it nearly impossible for the parents to
- 29:24stay calm and rational. It seemed like they were living
- 29:28on borrowed time, continuing to deal with the intense emotions,
- 29:32some that were her own and others perhaps not so much,
- 29:36Bonnie reaches back out to Lorraine Warren.
- 29:39The rain believed that the blessing had unfortunately not
- 29:42cleansed to the home entirely, but rather it had wounded
- 29:46whatever demonic entity that was there, and given enough time, it
- 29:50would come back worse and angrier than before.
- 29:53Her timing could not have been more precise.
- 29:56That night, as the family lays in the living room as what has
- 30:00become their routine, as they drift off to sleep, a book
- 30:04suddenly falls off a shelf near the couch where Jeremy and
- 30:07Francis are sleeping. And then another book falls.
- 30:12And then books begin to fly from the shelf and towards the
- 30:16family, waking them all up. In a panic.
- 30:19A vase shatters as it is too thrown from this very same shelf
- 30:24and towards them The assault continues for minutes, although
- 30:28it feels like hours. Once it seemingly ceases, Bonnie
- 30:32once again calls the rain, desperate for some kind of
- 30:35advice to make this all go away. She's been informed that
- 30:39Lorraine had already contacted the local archdiocese and had
- 30:43been in contact with the priest. He was already preparing himself
- 30:47to come and perform an exorcism. The priests have to rid
- 30:50themselves of any sin through confession, as well as fast and
- 30:54pray for several weeks before they're ready to perform the
- 30:58ritual. Thankfully, by the time she was
- 31:00informed, the priest had already had those qualifications
- 31:04underway and only needed about three more days before he would
- 31:07be ready. This places him to conduct the
- 31:10exorcism right after Christmas Day.
- 31:13In the meantime, Bonnie and Sean consider moving their family to
- 31:17a hotel, feeling that the home itself was too unsafe.
- 31:21However, given the state that they were in and the fact that
- 31:25Lorraine had been adamant that leaving the home was not the
- 31:28answer that this entity or entities would and could simply
- 31:33follow them anywhere they decided to flee to, They
- 31:37ultimately decided to wait it out and didn't go.
- 31:41In the coming days, the family remains close to one another as
- 31:44they try to keep each other safe.
- 31:47That is, however, except for Bonnie, who is once again
- 31:50compelled to isolate herself and draw.
- 31:54This time she's compelled to draw a very different set of
- 31:57images. Within the image there is a
- 32:00pyramid, and on one side there are heavenly rays of light
- 32:04coming down, and on the other, a raging storm, and there are
- 32:08three spirits heading towards the pyramid.
- 32:12This bizarre symbolism is something that Bonnie doesn't
- 32:15even understand, yet she is relentlessly compelled to draw
- 32:19it. In the midst of her drawing, she
- 32:21receives a call from Lorraine and when she explains what she's
- 32:25doing, or rather what she feels compelled to do, Lorraine
- 32:29informs her that the spirits are channeling through her and that
- 32:33she needed to stop what she was doing immediately because her
- 32:36actions were now opening a door that she perhaps couldn't close.
- 32:41So against her intrusive thoughts, she ceases drawing for
- 32:45the time being. The following day is Christmas
- 32:48Eve, and Bonnie's mother has worked up the courage to again
- 32:51visit for the holiday. As she arrives and talks with
- 32:54the family, not having seen them since Thanksgiving morning, she
- 32:58suddenly and unexpectedly falls ill with a fever, seemingly out
- 33:03of nowhere. Within hours, her fever reaches
- 33:07over 104 degrees and shows no signs of stopping, so they take
- 33:12her to the hospital. Never having had issues
- 33:14previously, doctors find an irregular heartbeat and are
- 33:18concerned, so they decide to keep her overnight while the
- 33:22oldest daughter is out running last minute Christmas errands
- 33:25for the family, Bonnie and Jennifer try to comfort their
- 33:28loved 1, agreeing to pray with her before they depart for the
- 33:31night. They gather around her and
- 33:34start, but something is immediately off.
- 33:38She began to say her prayers backwards.
- 33:41Confused and shocked, she tried to correct herself but couldn't
- 33:45seem to do so. Bonnie, worried about her
- 33:49mother, contacts the hospital chaplain and asked him to pray
- 33:53with her as he meets with her. Without anyone being aware, the
- 33:57oldest daughter was about to take an unexpected turn for the
- 34:01worst as she's out driving. As she rounds a corner headed
- 34:05back home, she is met and hit head on by another vehicle.
- 34:11The car is completely totaled, but thankfully she escapes with
- 34:15only minor injuries. It seemed like whatever entity
- 34:19that dwelled within their home was now doing anything it could
- 34:23to prevent the arrival of the Exorcist.
- 34:26The stress is almost too much for Bonnie to take.
- 34:30Her mother being in the hospital, her daughter being in
- 34:33the accident, coupled with everything else that had
- 34:35happened to her left her on the brink of insanity.
- 34:39She can only tremble and pray for a better tomorrow.
- 34:43Two days later, the exorcist finally arrives.
- 34:47From the moment his foot breaches the threshold of the
- 34:50house, he seemed disturbed. It's as if he sensed the unholy
- 34:55inhabitant and knew exactly what he was dealing with.
- 34:59Since an entity can dwell within a place or a property, but
- 35:03doesn't take possession of it like a can, a living vessel, the
- 35:07priest has decided to try a bold but risky strategy to rid the
- 35:11home once and for all. He decides to use Lee, the
- 35:15medium, essentially his life bait.
- 35:18He will attempt to draw the demon into her and then cast it
- 35:21out and back to the depths of hell where it came from.
- 35:25In preparation, the Warren's team restrain her in an effort
- 35:29to protect her and everyone else in the room from what could
- 35:33happen. They then open all the windows
- 35:35in the house. This is done to try and cleanse
- 35:38the home of any and all negative energy.
- 35:41Once all of these steps are completed, the priest begins the
- 35:45ceremony by blessing the house and an effort to anger the
- 35:49demon. His efforts are successful.
- 35:53Lee had fallen into a deep trance while the father was
- 35:56blessing the house, and upon him, stepping back into the
- 35:59room, she looked back at him with such hate and malice.
- 36:04As if a being of pure rage was staring into his soul.
- 36:08She began to hiss and scream an unearthly growl.
- 36:12This began a battle of wills that lasted hours.
- 36:16But alas, the demon seems to have finally left Lee's body.
- 36:21Or so they thought, including the exorcism.
- 36:24The priest places a blessed crucifix upon Lee's forehead.
- 36:28She lets out a gasp that sounds like two people speaking at
- 36:32once, and then goes limp. Suddenly, she glances back up at
- 36:38the priest with a sinister grin on her face.
- 36:42Then the sound of splintering wood can be heard.
- 36:47She broke the legs off the chair that her legs were restrained
- 36:50to, and then lunged at the priest, hissing and screaming at
- 36:55the top of her lungs. The ensuing continuation of the
- 36:58ritual would last another hour. Then finally, after one last
- 37:04horrific scream, Lee went unconscious and the smothering
- 37:08cloud of miasma that once filled the entire house and taken over
- 37:13the lives of the Beckwith family seemingly had been lifted,
- 37:18finally freeing them from the torment that they had endured
- 37:21since purchasing their home. After this point, life seemed to
- 37:26go back to normal for the Beckwith family.
- 37:28The feeling of pressure and 1000 eyes bearing down upon them have
- 37:33been lifted and soon became a distant memory.
- 37:37That was until a home began to be restored across the street
- 37:40from them. As excavators dug into the earth
- 37:44around the home, they discovered numerous human bones.
- 37:48It is believed that they had disturbed an ancient Native
- 37:51American burial ground. Following this accidental
- 37:54exhumation, the family once again begins to experience
- 37:58paranormal events within their home.
- 38:01But this time they are much tamer than what they had
- 38:04previously endured. So ultimately they were
- 38:07uncomfortable, but it was tolerable.
- 38:10The family would continue to live in the house till at least
- 38:13the year 2005, but at some point would sell the home.
- 38:18It seems like a revolving door of owners followed in the years
- 38:21to come. Then after sitting vacant on and
- 38:24off, it seems to have finally been purchased again in 2018,
- 38:29although I'm unsure if anyone currently lives there in that
- 38:33regard. Despite the incredible story
- 38:35that's just been told to you. Please respect people's privacy
- 38:40and do not harass anyone. Although the existence of George
- 38:44Robertson is verifiable, Anna, whose last name was never
- 38:48discovered, is not again. Perhaps this was due to the
- 38:52records being destroyed in the aforementioned town flood in the
- 38:561950s. We are also left with more
- 38:59questions than answers when it comes to the haunting itself.
- 39:03Just how did a demon find its way into the home?
- 39:06Seances were certainly popular for a time when this house would
- 39:09have been inhabited. Could this have perhaps been the
- 39:12cause? Or how about the Indian burial
- 39:15ground itself? Disturbed or not?
- 39:18Could it have had something to do with the haunting prior to
- 39:20the exhumation? And although I searched, I can't
- 39:23seem to find any updates on the beck with family.
- 39:27But I hope wherever they are, that they know that their story
- 39:30is a harrowing one, and I commend them for having the
- 39:33strength to endure such events and remained strong and
- 39:36resilient. If you were in the beck with
- 39:38shoes, how would you have handled the situation?
- 39:42Would you have chose to run or would you have stayed and
- 39:45fought? It's truly hard to say unless
- 39:48you experience such a thing for yourself.
- 39:51But this much I do know. There is a darkness that exists,
- 39:55an ancient evil that feeds upon fear and misery.
- 40:00It seeks to sow discord and destroy anything beautiful that
- 40:04it can. So if I were you.
- 40:07I'd steer clear of those monsters as best as you can,
- 40:10because otherwise what goes bump in the night may just take you
- 40:15with it. Thank you all so much for
- 40:19watching this new video. I would like to thank Rogu 75
- 40:22for suggesting this case. I'd heard of it before, but
