- 0:17Speaker 1: Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
- 0:19Speaker 2: It's a story you need to hear to believe.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Then grab your popcorn because there is more. Tony kaints
- 0:24Speaker 1: it's me. By the way, how are we doing?
- 0:25Speaker 2: Everybody? Ninety three WIBC, Good morning.
- 0:30Speaker 1: The WNBA, which thinks they can tell us not to
- 0:35Speaker 1: pay attention. All they did was tell us to pay attention,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and then when we started paying attention, they told us
- 0:47Speaker 1: stop paying attention.
- 0:49Speaker 2: And that.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Is not going to fly. And I said it yesterday,
- 0:54Speaker 1: I'll say it again today. Coach Stephanie White of the
- 0:56Speaker 1: Indiana Fever did herself no favors, absolutely no favors whatsoever
- 1:06Speaker 1: with her statement, which was not strong and bold, but
- 1:10Speaker 1: rather was really an attack on the.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Fans and an emotional outburst.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Maybe it did well in the locker room, it didn't
- 1:19Speaker 1: do well in connecting with the people. There might be
- 1:25Speaker 1: a difference between men and women, and maybe women thought
- 1:27Speaker 1: it was great and wonderful. What Coach White told me
- 1:31Speaker 1: is that I have no business paying attention. I can
- 1:35Speaker 1: disagree with something, but I want to be supportive. And
- 1:39Speaker 1: this isn't the first time I've been supportive of the Fever.
- 1:42Speaker 1: When I first got here and the Fever were going
- 1:46Speaker 1: to the playoffs, we would hold events outside the MS building.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I was there. I know nobody was doing anything for
- 1:54Speaker 1: the Fever. There we were, there was this show. You
- 2:00Speaker 1: guys can't say that the WNWNBA stands for women. It's weird.
- 2:06Speaker 1: It is very odd, and is very weird. And then
- 2:08Speaker 1: you put out a statement through your uh, your commissioner,
- 2:18Speaker 1: Kathy Engelbert, and it reads today's meeting where you were
- 2:23Speaker 1: going to actually dig into the conversation of whether the.
- 2:26Speaker 2: WNBA is for women.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Today's meeting covered a wide range of topics, including ongoing
- 2:31Speaker 1: discussions on transgender athletes at the continued hate and vitriol
- 2:35Speaker 1: directed to players online.
- 2:37Speaker 2: We will continue to engage.
- 2:39Speaker 1: All league stakeholders in the coming weeks and months. The
- 2:42Speaker 1: minute you hear stakeholders, you know there's nothing happening. We
- 2:46Speaker 1: will approach these important conversations thoughtfully and in alignment with
- 2:49Speaker 1: the values of our league. There are no immediate eligibility
- 2:52Speaker 1: matters affecting the WNBA, and we strongly denounce the bad
- 2:55Speaker 1: faith efforts to use those topics to demean or marginalize others.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Translation, we're not touching this. We hope you all forget it.
- 3:06Speaker 1: WNBA can't say what a woman is and won't defend it.
- 3:10Speaker 2: This is on them. You can't change what's happening.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It's here, and the reason it's here is because we
- 3:17Speaker 1: are absolutely in a cultural war. And if the WNBA
- 3:19Speaker 1: wants to be upset that they're caught in the culture war,
- 3:21Speaker 1: I can appreciate that. But they are in it because
- 3:25Speaker 1: they can't say something that Sophie Cunningham said, which is
- 3:28Speaker 1: the normal rational point of view girls sports for girls.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Adding to this is Peggy Flanagan, who's the Democrat nay
- 3:38Speaker 1: Communist candidate for Senate in Minnesota, who is there on
- 3:43Speaker 1: CNN saying that you should be able to mutilate children.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Minnesota law does not set a minimum age for gender
- 3:51Speaker 3: affirming care. Do you believe there should be one? I mean,
- 3:57Speaker 3: I believe that what we need to do is make
- 3:59Speaker 3: sure that people have access to healthcare. Frankly, that's one
- 4:03Speaker 3: of the reasons, you know why I've run so hard
- 4:06Speaker 3: on Medicare for all and make gender firming care and
- 4:10Speaker 3: an rnity. Should there be an age limit? I think
- 4:15Speaker 3: gender affirming care is part of healthcare. People need a
- 4:18Speaker 3: very answer on that for healthcare. I think our law
- 4:23Speaker 3: as it stands is a good law I've supported in
- 4:26Speaker 3: the past. But I think the real question the people
- 4:29Speaker 3: are struggling with is if I go to the doctor,
- 4:32Speaker 3: how am I going to pay that bill? You know,
- 4:34Speaker 3: when folks have sixty.
- 4:37Speaker 2: The spin is incredible. It's just CNN. Should you allow
- 4:41Speaker 2: an eleven year old to be mutilated?
- 4:43Speaker 1: And the answer is no. The answer is no. But
- 4:47Speaker 1: they can't say no. These wild progressives cannot say no.
- 4:54Speaker 1: There is no such thing as gender affirming care. It
- 4:57Speaker 1: is cover for child mutilation. And the answer is no,
- 5:00Speaker 1: And they can't say no. Connecticut is now saying no.
- 5:04Speaker 1: We have nations overseas saying no. Of course we should
- 5:07Speaker 1: be saying no. The answer is no. There is not
- 5:10Speaker 1: a tough part too. Do we mutilate children?
- 5:13Speaker 2: No? It's just that easy. It's just that simple.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Peggy Flanagan, the progressive where the Democrats are can't do
- 5:22Speaker 1: it like the WNBA can't do it. The W stands
- 5:25Speaker 1: for women And until you're able to honestly address the
- 5:29Speaker 1: situation and state what it is, you're gonna have this.
- 5:33Speaker 2: But if your answer.
- 5:34Speaker 1: WNBA is we don't care if men claim to be women,
- 5:37Speaker 1: we're fine with that. Don't get angry when people decide
- 5:42Speaker 1: they want to join the league and don't make the
- 5:44Speaker 1: claim that they're not real women. If the WNBA cannot
- 5:48Speaker 1: state clearly what a woman is, don't get upset with
- 5:52Speaker 1: other people for not doing the same exact thing. Kathy Engelbert,
- 5:57Speaker 1: you're doing this to yourself. Coach White, you're doing this
- 6:01Speaker 1: to yourself.
