Final Fantasy and Midwest Emo with Abby The Oboist
This episode of Rock For Initiative brings in Abby the Oboist, a classically trained oboist whose content sits right at the intersection of classical music, video games, and emo.
We start with Abby’s origin story, which covers oboe AND her love of video games, specifically Final Fantasy. We also cover Oblivion, Baldur’s Gate 3, and a thousand-plus hours in Stardew Valley.
From there we get into Abby’s path into Midwest emo fandom and talk about which emo-adjacent band different Final Fantasy characters would be into.
