- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: listen to people that I can't learn from.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't listen to interviews or artists that don't have no value in what they say.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh listen to music for people that I can't get no gain from or are you the smartest one in your team?
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely not.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: I might be the dumbest one.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: The name of the brand obviously is the marathon.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: It just stands for endurance, it stands for stand down.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: It stands for like not quitting.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's setting the ups and downs with whatever game you commit so so to and writing it out because that's the reality of success or greatness that it come with a roller coaster ride.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think that anybody could applaud the marathon concept to what they do if it's sports, if it's fashion, if it's music, if it's hustling with whatever you want the marathon, you know so.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to land the beds you make.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: You're not gonna get away with nothing in terms of the energy.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: You might be the camera or the police.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: They might not catch you for what you do, but the energy is all you're gonna return to you.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: So when you're just living in this cycle of being negative all day and just putting out negativity and that's the only energy you put out, it's gonna return to you in different form than you put it out in.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: So I would just say, you know, master your energy, do your best to master your energy in yellow and what you put out, you know.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: unless that's what you want.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: You know, because you, you entitled to whatever you want to create, whatever experience you want to create for yourself.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: But if you tie to that shit, adjust the energy.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, as best you can, adjust what you wake up thinking and what you say.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: And then lastly, what you do, and that's not the easy thing to do because it's such a pressure and these areas to just go by the way things are.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, it's a lot of examples that you could look up to as young kids in the streets.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: You could look up to a, you know, uh, Kendrick Lamar, not the words.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: Forget what he's saying, just where he came from.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: I see him, you could, you could, you told me freestyle in the next and go on projects.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: You could look up to a net person.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you could look up to a YG.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean to a, a top dog.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean to it.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: To anyone of these guys that came from this,
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: this hopelessness and you know, wiggle day right through it, you know what I mean and you can reverse engineering what they did, you know, look at this stuff, so what, what what happened?
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: The most important thing I'm wondering is you gotta get ready to die so if you're not doubting what you're doing, you're just not gonna work, you know what I'm saying in the way, through that as you have a plan.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you got a plan, it's not like just a pipe journey.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: You have a step by step, let's do things to do to get to your goal.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't have that, it's very hard to really have faith in what you don't.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: Because soon as some pop-ups don't look like the end-all.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: But if you got a gang plan or everything you need to do, you know, one thing pop-up, well I still got to do this, this, and that's all they're saying.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm stopping.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm saying another thing pop-up.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: We should accomplish this two things, I sense that my last obstacle.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty some of you said you, you obtained your goal and then you create another.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: Well, without a game plan, without the...
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: So a strong sense of faith in what you don't want is going to be real hard to accomplish any day.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I know, you know, there's a lot of obstacles out here, family, baby mama's, the legal system, trouble with the law, you know, your home boy is being involved in an in a crab and a bucket, a syndrome, where you know what I mean, you're making moves, and it's starting to make your way out when your people start trying to test they sell to you.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: You really become, wait, you know what I'm saying, extra waiting, you sometimes, it's like
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, you've got to have faith in what you're doing and not take no for an answer.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: You'll get it, it'll be a long run, but you'll get it for sure.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you can learn from my mistakes, but you might have to make it.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: I would just say, if you take the quality for me of, I mean, if you were to take any quality for me, take the quality of persistence and stand down.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean, and being able to take it on the chin and take a blow.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's important.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, do not stay on the ground if you get knocked down and you know, maybe got a roll to punch.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: I've never been one of the people that could become to be careless.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: Some people, I noticed the quality that they don't have that.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: They just don't have the pressure on themselves.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they just have a little bit of a...
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: a comfort that I don't have.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel comfortable.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: Unless I know I'm winning a blood and beyond with my preparation, the things that possibly could happen.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: If I ain't take real steps to prevent those things, I'm not comfortable.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: I can't walk around, you know, charismatic and happy.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: No, I got to make sure, you know, we said no to type them well, because we might have, you might have a little bag right now.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: But we know a lot of people had a bag right now.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you need to do a bag.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: We got a core business, which is familiar music.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: But then it's about building an enterprise around you.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I think, you know, that's what we see Jay-Z as done.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's what we see, puff as done.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: The music don't become how you pay the bills.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's a lot of pressure off of.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: You've got other things bringing in an income.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: You can make music solely as a artist.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: Really everybody got a different definition with the end of the game for it.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't get my way in trying to fit it.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: What I mean, what I'm here to try to do, I couldn't do that trying to fit it.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: But wouldn't what my goal,
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: You can't get out of the way, what I'm trying to do that way.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: From my understanding of my experience with it, you got to be authentic and you got to be out of defying yourself, you got to make a contribution.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: You can't charge a copy.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: Right away, if you got to, you got to defying your contribution.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: I learned when I was younger like, you can't put your expectation in me on me.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm me filming, and that's what you're gonna go on.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Ever made me feel bad for it, you're not going.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, make me react to how you react into me.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care about me.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: And if I, if I, part of who I am,
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's disrespectful, you know, crossing the line and like basic things.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna check myself, but, you know, we are individuals.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: So, you to think, my balance or my ratio, I'm too distant, too bad, and I ain't got enough of this, if enough of that.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: So, I love just keeping it to yourself, bro.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Don't blend in, you know, stay in your lane.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: There's no traffic in your lane.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: Be honest, stay in your lane.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: Americans, just about seeing long time, seeing a vision.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: understand and nothing really worthwhile happens overnight and just sticking to your script bumping up to make some real have man a brick every day instead of trying to build a brick wall just lay a brick every day.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: Eventually you look up you will have a brick wall.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: I dropped my daughter off every day.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: I drilled her out every day at school when I take her to school you know how it's if we have a little combo we have before she got to come and she gets sick and running script and we go out for pounds and her head.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, uh, what is attacking me?
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: No, attacking me, doing the right thing.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why he's looking at me.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: All right, you know, are you a little faster than I'm believing what's the difference?
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for myself.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: You have confidence, you have confidence, you have confidence.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: Believe in myself.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's all I should get every morning.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to see if she can't really embrace those ideas right now.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: And she get older and do any valuations.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: What the messings that I wanted her to receive, that I rang, I forget that she's not going to forget that that's what my dad thought was really important.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: It was the integrity of the leadership and the confidence.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: There's no one answer to how you change the hood or change the reality of what goes on.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: But what you got to think about is when you don't have,
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: resources you want survival mode, you know, so being a survival mode out of Matthew rules out of a lot of things, because you know care about morality because you know experience, you know, the need to survive.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know experience, you know fairness, you know an experience.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: planning for the future.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: You just experienced my rich touch.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know me, and it's better me than you, and you know us as survival instinct that kicking me.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: So I think once you get out of this survival mode, your mind will come back closer to daily decision making.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: You start thinking about what's right and what do I believe in.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: And to tell you get out of survival mode, you ain't got time that you weren't about right and wrong.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: You weren't about quite a long.
- 8:09[UNKNOWN]: You
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that economics is the answer.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: Empowering people economically is how you really, really impact.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't know if it's about dropping a back of money in the hood.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's about impact and culture in a way that, you know, the mentality changes.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think like, you get people out of survival mode.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: They start thinking different.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: I did, you know, when I went out and figured out,
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know, how to get myself out of the situation.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: My approach to life and people was different.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't so angry, I didn't have my guard up.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't so aggressive, I wasn't so, you know, expecting if you ain't helping me fuck you, it wasn't that what the mentality you know more.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't blame nobody.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's thinking about how they don't pay the rent or like going through.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Not having food at the house, being young, having to go outside the hospital for it to feed themselves in school clothes.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to change people, I was going to make you feel the way.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: And you can't fault it.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: You just got to kind of empathize with the scenario and understand you put it a person in survival mode and on survival in the maze.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: No, I was always a hustler, so when I talked to a young dude, I'm like, well, my advice to use is going to be money advice, but I'll get you some money you're going to feel different.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: All that other advice I could get you, this is the short version.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'll get you a cup of dollars, man.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to feel different.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'd be juggling.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying, I'd juggling.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: A lot, I play a lot of positions.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: So, my mentality when I do start to be like, then it's a lot, you know what I'm saying?
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, you know, that's what it's supposed to feel like.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: If you are going toward what the vision looked like, and that's like, great, and it's that's it.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know, on multiple levels, that's the vision that I'm working towards.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm like, I just think about that.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you're sitting in a positive field, you know, comfortable, it's supposed to be uncomfortable.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's supposed to be a part of your degree.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: And you gotta, you know, wrap your mind around that and accept it when you're racing and you catch the wisdom off that.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: The words is powerful, you know?
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that, um,
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: The ability to articulate, you know, you can, you can really impact people.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think as human beings, everybody has a natural gift and a natural passion, but then you go outside and you get influenced and you feel pressured from what's going on outside.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: And so, you know, I've read one time like, would you rather be at war with yourself and at peace with the world?
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Or at peace with yourself and at war with the world?
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: And now it's powerful.
