Transcript
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: Jacksonville jackwars fans welcome in to do vault daily presented by jingyag.com I'm Jordan Aluga thanks so much for being here Monday, October 13th jackwars coming off at this point in loss, have an opportunity to rebound on the road against the Los Angeles Rams and London will be previewing that game coming up hot and heavy a little bit later in the week but
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: gotten a lot of requests to talk about potential trade candidates for the jackwars and and I think there's good reason for that.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll dive into defensive tackle trade candidates here on this show.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe have another show that maybe we would talk about like maybe some other spots that they could potentially be interested in trading for, but there's a few factors as to why we're going to focus on defensive tackle here.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: Murray's getting fired up about it, but the NFL trade deadline is November 4th.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: So it's less than a month away, and there's been some heat on the Jag worth potentially making more trades and they already have this year.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll dive into it.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: Really appreciate you being here.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.

- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: Help support the channel look good while doing it.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: So as I mentioned, November 4th is the NFL trade deadline.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: The Jack Wars traded Tyson Campbell in a seventh round pick from the Eagles for Greg Newsom and a sixth round pick from the jet earlier, well, earlier in the month, but last week, right?
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: Middle of the week Wednesday night, I believe that was a made it official Thursday.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: Subsequently, according to SpotRack, the Jaguar moves some money around on Diami, Brown and Walker Little clearing some cap space.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have like this cap table right now for 2025 and even 26 that looks like.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they have all this wiggle room and flexibility, but
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: There are plenty of cap mechanizations and tools to convert 20, 25 cap hits and salary into future cap hits.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not really an issue about taking on cap space in my opinion.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: You have to be responsible to an extent with some of the ways you use these resources that you have, these cap tools that you have, but the good thing is shotgun is always willing to do whatever it takes from a money standpoint, actual money standpoint, not cap.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: to help massage the cap, to help work around the cap constraints that are currently in existence.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: So that, to me, is not a big factor.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: It could become a factor if you're trading for a big, big contract where you have that contract you're taking on and then you also have to worry about signing, travel and signing, Devon and who are Travis and who are maybe adding for you.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: Certainly the Jaguar's cap space could get tight real quick and it is tight right now, but there's plenty of ways to move money as I mentioned cap, I should say.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: You have multiple reports suggesting that the Jaguar might not be done trading, including, you know, Ian Rappaport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that they're interested in potentially finding more help on the defensive front.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: When I think about the Jack's defensive front, you obviously have your two starting ad directors.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: You have suitable backup ad directors as well in my opinion.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: You have Eric Armstead and Devon Hamilton as your two primary interior guys right now.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think either of them is doing like a bad job necessarily.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think that you look at what they've done and it's not like they're playing at a star
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: net negatives, but, you know, based on these reports from Rappaport and Garafolo and looking at, you know, could they use one more really big-time player on the defensive front?
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think the answer is yes, and it makes most sense if that player is potentially an interior or defensive lineman, and probably makes most sense if that player can be someone who wrecks games in the backfield versus just like holding up extremely well at the point of attack, somebody who really makes eye impact, and maybe a really complete player.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's not that many of those guys out there that are going to be readily available, all that stuff, but we'll dive into it, talk about a couple of these guys, actually more than a couple.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: But there are four big, big name defensive tackles on teams with less than stellar records.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Dexter Lawrence, a lot of people have pointed to, the giants have now won two straight games and Dexter Lawrence fantastic player.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: obviously you'd love to have him in Jacksonville.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's also got that Clemson connection, the Jaguars, you know, have some Clemson guys here.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: And the Giants, they haven't won two straight, but they've won two out of their last three, right?
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: And they just beat up on the Eagles, Brian Dayball, Joe Shane, probably working for their jobs right now.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: Are they really going to move
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: to some extent and on some level, any of these moves would be potentially surprising just because it's early in the seat and maybe this happens a little bit later.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: Between now, October 13th and November 4th, there is time for teams to lose more games and for faith to be lost and for teams to potentially really have fire sales, quote unquote.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: Dexter Lawrence to me would be very surprising if the giants move him, but maybe you drop a couple more games, you're two and six, and you feel like maybe we do need to see what we can get for the future to build this thing up.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of the path forward.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: But Dexter Lawrence, he is stylistically a nose tackle, but he is a nose tackle that can actually really be a dominant past Russia as well as run defender.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: He can do a lot for you up front.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's in the mold like the 340 pound just behemoth on the interior, type of guy that's where he's at, but he's a really good athlete at that size and all that stuff.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of where he is.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's also in the NFC.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: So you think about some of these big trades and and you usually are looking at Not not really trading within certainly your own division normally.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously the Jaguars have done some of that With the Texans recently, but I Still just
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: thinking that the jacks are gonna land one of these big fish type of guys or anyone's gonna land one of these big fish type of guys at the defensive tackle position it's hard to fathom it's hard to imagine but these trades do occasionally happen so yeah i'll be keeping an eye on what the giants have going on i'll be keeping an eye on their uh... their stadium mates the new york jets as well the jets are really a team that are floundering right now you know under
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: Aaron Glenn, who I thought was a really good coaching higher at the time, but the Jets, they're all in six, and yeah, they have a super-star defensive tackle, his name is Quinn and Williams, and Quinn in is more of that quintessential explosive upfield three technique.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: maybe makes more sense just in terms of the explosive potential in the backfield.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe he's actually almost 28 years old, seems like he was just a rookie couple years ago, but yeah, he's another expensive player, both Dexter Lawrence and Quentin Williams up there in terms of the cost, but again, you have the ability to do some different things to move money around.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: I do think it makes more sense potentially for the Jack Wars to add somebody on a
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: rookie deal currently someone who they have like the flexibility to have around for for a while but not necessarily tied to some big contract I do think that that makes more sense and we'll talk about some guys in that mold as well coming up but Quinn and Williams on the ON6 jets maybe you never know they might want to hit the reset button a little bit
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: when it Williams is a hell of a player though.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be happy to have him in Jacksonville as that, again, quintessential, prototypical three tech.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: You look at Jeffrey Simmons from the Titans, again, jets in conference trade.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: Titans would be an in the vision trade and I just cannot imagine Jeffrey Simmons playing for the Jaguarist.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: But what I love it,
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: Hell yeah, I mean, seeing Jeffrey Simmons line up and black until that would be something else.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: He is one of the most dominant interior defensive linemen of the last, you know, I mean, it's been a long time since 2019.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's been kicking ass in the NFL and he's 28 years old.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's not a big deal obviously, but I think he's probably the best one out of all of them.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: Just game record.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: If they could swing something like that, that would be insane.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: Now, what would it cost to do it?
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but the Jaguars, to me, are very clearly in pursuit of a division title and an opportunity to try to win games in the playoffs and push for a super-bullet year.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's where I feel like they feel that they are.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Internally, I think that they think they have an opportunity this year in the AFC, in the AFC South, to win their division and try to win their conference
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's where I think they think they are, based on the moves they've been making.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: With the Titans ever do this type of trade, I can't imagine that would, but again, you'll look at the standings and the Titans are one in five, just one game ahead of the New York Jets.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: Trading age, every Simmons could potentially be a massive hall that allows them to have a lot of excitement for building the future of the Tennessee Titans, but I can't imagine trading somebody that good.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: To a division rival.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: But again, we're just exploring options here.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to continue doing that.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: But first, got our mind y'all about underdog fantasy football season is in full swing.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: and underdog is the best place to make picks and win money all season long.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: Playing on underdog is easy.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's the best user experience, you know, in any app, just pick whether your favorite players will go higher or lower on stats like touchdowns receiving your arts and receptions and more.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: Very simple.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: My, you know, next opportunity here, Monday night football, got a double header.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking at Rambo Dunn, Rambo Dunn's A.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: He scored a touchdown in every single game so far this year as he can go higher or lower on half a touchdown.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: You tell me, be sure on Robinson at 75 and a half rushing yards, higher or lower,
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: I like these Jones chances there.

- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: Underdog.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: Make picks win money.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: Must be 18 plus 90 plus in Alabama in Nebraska, 19 plus in Colorado for some games, 21 plus in Arizona, Massachusetts and Virginia, and present a state where underdog fantasy operates in terms of play.

- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it probably makes even less sense for the team that he's on, but all of a sudden the Carolina Panthers have won two straight games in their three and three, but Derek Brown and they've won three out of their last four, Derek Brown would be a great fit.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think he is a, you know, big time culture fit, intangibly rich type of guy.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think everyone we've talked about would fit just their damn good players and professionals, but Derek Brown definitely someone who I've always like,
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: Each of these guys that we've talked about, I've always been a huge fan of, you know, Jeffrey Simmons, not rooting for him to win football games, but gosh, his game is incredible.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, Derek Brown, at least he's in the NFC, but why would the Panthers do that at 3 and 3?
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Now, again, they'll have two or three games, you know, if they're sitting at,
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: 2, 3 and 5, or 3 and 6, I don't know, I think you would have to be 3 and 5, but maybe you never know, I doubt it though.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: Now the next guys are younger, well actually, Kaleas, I would love to have Kaleas back in Jacksonville.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, I don't think that's going to happen, but the cardinals are not doing super while they're two and four.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's been playing great football.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he is still just so difficult to stop when he's trying to rush from the interior and get penetration in the backfield at 39 years old, like he is still an unbelievable player trying to get penetration.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: So if that's what you're looking for, so maybe you can get into the backfield, let's
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: Cardinals aren't one of a lot of games, maybe, maybe it can make sense.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: When you look at the young guys, Gervon Dexter is someone who I think Dillow was kind of making some teasers at the Jaguar's potentially trying to swing for him from the bears, and he's a good interior passer, there's no doubt about it, you know, former Florida Gator, Gervon Dexter, he's more of that, you know, three tech.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's not the big 330 340 pound guy.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Derek Brown, Jeffrey Simmons, Dexter Lawrence, all kind of have like huge frames.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Quinn and Williams, Girve on Dexter.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: They're not as big.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: Girve on 6, 6, 3, 12, plenty big.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: But more of that three tech type of player.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: in my opinion, he's strong, though, like he has versatility to do a lot for you up front.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe someone who the Jaguar's could be interested in, he's an athlete, he's got length.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's 24 years old, so you're not talking about this huge contract type of guy, the way you would be with some of the others that we've talked about, Gervan Dexter from the University of Florida.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's his third year in the league.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's been a good pass rusher in the NFL.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: He really has, I mean, he's done a good job.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: penetrating, creating disruptive plays, wreaking havoc in the backfield, you know, has 11 total sacks, you know, PFF sacks, which half a sack is a full sack, and 77 pressures in his three years, and you know, he's only played four games this year.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: He has been out since week four, I believe, yeah.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: So, I'm not sure of his injury status right now, and we can pull it up real quick, just to give you all the full picture here.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's not in the caliber of the other guys we've talked about, but he also wouldn't cost as much as the other guys we've talked about.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see here.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: Urban Dexter injury.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: sorry folks.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, is he just inactive?
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: What's going on here?
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, Garvin Dexter, I don't know the situation here.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: I guess he's not injured.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: Let's pull up the Twitter machine.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't played since week four, obviously we just had weeks six, so let's, why isn't Garvin Dexter playing?
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: Y'all can roast me in the comments for not knowing this right now.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, a lot of bear's fans complained about his run defense, for sure.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I don't know what the deal is.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: If he had a little injury situation or what, but I can't figure that out right now.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: Gervine Dexter though, somebody that Dillie was kind of flirting with, and he's a good pass rusher.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see if that has any legs to it.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: Another indivision guy that I scoured like every team in the NFL here.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: Tommy at a bar I out of Indy, I don't know why the cults would trade a player to a team that they're currently in a division race with.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: But he's kind of that tweener, like in the two 80s, played some end, played some inside, plays over the tackle sum.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: But he is a guy that could certainly wreck shop for the Jaguars and help out a lot.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why the cults would do that.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: Looking at one more that I thought, maybe, New Orleans Saints, they're one and five.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: I was kind of trying to look at all these teams that are struggling and might want to get rid of some players.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how much this would move the needle right now.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, but Brian Brissie, another Climpsing guy.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's been a moderately effective interior past Russia since he got into the NFL.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: You look at what he's been doing so far this year and he's racked up some pressure numbers.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's got 15 pressures this year.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's got at least three pressures and four of the six games so far.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he's got three tech style type of guy has some unbelievable physical traits.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's somebody I would keep an eye on.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing that I've seen linking them, but the jaguars are certainly where there's smoke, there's fire and, you know, rap sheet and garafolo and everybody reporting that the jaguars might not be done.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think defensive tackle is the only position they could get better at, but maybe it is the most likely just based on the reporting that we're hearing.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Let me know who you'd like to see in Jacksonville at the defense of tackle spot, via trade, what you'd be willing to give up all that stuff in the comment section below.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: Let me know about what's going on with government extra, too, because I'm not too sure.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: Why if he just was dealing with a little injury or something or if there's more to that.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: But let me know if you all know in the comment section below.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: Y'all for good one.
