- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one Piece episodes six seventy six through six seventy eight.
- 0:15Speaker 1: The operation failed Uslon, the Hero dies, the Legend is back,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Kiros all Out Blow Hello wel and the Firefish strikes
- 0:27Speaker 1: the Flare Flare Fruit power returns in these episodes. So
- 0:35Speaker 1: many things happen so close together, you guys. I really
- 0:41Speaker 1: didn't think that within the same recording I was going
- 0:45Speaker 1: to get to talk about people being turned from toys
- 0:48Speaker 1: back into humans and the flare Flare fruit being one,
- 0:52Speaker 1: because those both seemed very significant, and I am surprised
- 0:57Speaker 1: they weren't like separated from me other a little bit
- 1:00Speaker 1: more considering how much we love drawing things out. Welcome
- 1:06Speaker 1: to spoil Me, Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning this episode.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And Florian, I'm realizing that you sent me a message
- 1:36Speaker 1: about the slots that I was supposed to book, and
- 1:39Speaker 1: I did book them, but I never let you know
- 1:41Speaker 1: that I booked them, So sorry for leaving you hanging
- 1:44Speaker 1: like that. That was my bad, and I will send
- 1:46Speaker 1: you a screenshot of all of them very shortly. Yeah, y'all,
- 1:52Speaker 1: this section is wild, how much stuff is packed together.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I never thought that we were going to get all
- 2:00Speaker 1: of these things so like on top of each other
- 2:05Speaker 1: the way that we have. And you know, I don't
- 2:08Speaker 1: get me wrong, delighted, very excited to talk about all
- 2:12Speaker 1: the things, but it just isn't usually how things work
- 2:16Speaker 1: with this show. So you know, I feel that my
- 2:21Speaker 1: surprise can be pardoned due to that, and I am
- 2:25Speaker 1: curious about how everybody else felt about it as well.
- 2:28Speaker 1: When they were first watching this, did you think that
- 2:30Speaker 1: all of these things were going to occur like back
- 2:32Speaker 1: to back the way that they do. I am really like,
- 2:40Speaker 1: I'm having so much trouble, and I'm really trying to
- 2:43Speaker 1: keep in mind that this is not the deal in
- 2:46Speaker 1: the manga, so technically I just kind of want to
- 2:49Speaker 1: say it's not canon. But the fact that we're trying
- 2:55Speaker 1: to like bring back some we're trying to redeem Oosop
- 3:01Speaker 1: after everything, you guys, it just upset me so much
- 3:06Speaker 1: the way that he was portrayed that now I don't
- 3:09Speaker 1: have a lot of interest in seeing redemption because I'm
- 3:13Speaker 1: just sort of like, this dude, literally, like the amount
- 3:18Speaker 1: of convincing that it took to get him to turn
- 3:22Speaker 1: around and not abandon his friends. He ultimately did, and
- 3:27Speaker 1: I know that's really what I should be focusing on,
- 3:31Speaker 1: but I'm sorry, it just took so much. I feel
- 3:37Speaker 1: like I I just feel a little bit like, does
- 3:46Speaker 1: he really deserve to get credit after all this, you know,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and the way that he is going to be hyped up?
- 3:53Speaker 1: I think that's like, I think that's really it. People
- 3:56Speaker 1: are literally treating him now like he is some kind
- 3:59Speaker 1: of god when he came within a hair's breath of
- 4:04Speaker 1: just running off and saving his own ass. And there
- 4:07Speaker 1: are times where overcoming cowardice feels like a real victory
- 4:13Speaker 1: and real character growth, and then there are times where
- 4:17Speaker 1: it just sort of feels like you were given no
- 4:22Speaker 1: other option really than to be a hero, And does
- 4:25Speaker 1: that count? Like do you get credit for that? I
- 4:29Speaker 1: just sort of I'm just sort of not impressed. I
- 4:33Speaker 1: guess is where I come down on this whole thing.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Seraphim has a comment about the last episode and says,
- 4:40Speaker 1: from last week, pretty sure you got the right intent
- 4:43Speaker 1: from the Kiros backstory. He was someone who wasn't evil,
- 4:46Speaker 1: but needed to learn self control, and that was what
- 4:49Speaker 1: the King was trying to teach him. Okay, that's fair,
- 4:54Speaker 1: So all right, let's begin, Like, because we got so
- 4:57Speaker 1: much to fit in here, the first thing that I
- 5:00Speaker 1: want to talk about is the remainder of Kiros's story,
- 5:04Speaker 1: because we saw up until the point when the attack
- 5:08Speaker 1: came and there were all those fires everywhere and the
- 5:12Speaker 1: king had been already sort of taken prisoner. He first
- 5:17Speaker 1: was like, does it count as being framed if you
- 5:21Speaker 1: actually did it, even if you did it under duress? Like,
- 5:29Speaker 1: is that he's definitely been set up? One could easily
- 5:32Speaker 1: use set up, But I am unsure whether framed works here.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I feel like framed isn't the word. I feel like
- 5:39Speaker 1: that is purely for when you make it look like
- 5:42Speaker 1: somebody did something they absolutely didn't do or have anything
- 5:45Speaker 1: to do with. So all right, we see him in
- 5:51Speaker 1: the flashback looking out onto the flames, and then eventually,
- 5:57Speaker 1: oh my god, I'm so sorry. I guess Sarah was
- 6:00Speaker 1: in the chat and says he was exhorted into doing
- 6:02Speaker 1: it and then extorted. However, it's spleed, and I know
- 6:06Speaker 1: that it was a type of ver spelled, but it's
- 6:08Speaker 1: sbl eeed, and it's extremely funny to me. I have
- 6:15Speaker 1: a little bit of a weakness for words being like
- 6:17Speaker 1: slightly mispronounced. It's just always funny. So yeah, that got
- 6:21Speaker 1: to me a little bit here. I'm not gonna lie.
- 6:24Speaker 1: So the uh, the way that this worked is that
- 6:29Speaker 1: he went right up to the palace to try and
- 6:32Speaker 1: speak to King Riku. And I recognize that I'm really
- 6:36Speaker 1: not supposed to ask a lot of questions, but I
- 6:41Speaker 1: am really curious if kiros like has completely fallen off
- 6:48Speaker 1: the map in terms of his notoriety, because it seemed
- 6:50Speaker 1: like he was pretty famous, and it didn't occur to
- 6:54Speaker 1: me to question until now the fact that maybe people
- 7:00Speaker 1: would be watching him and where he lives and where
- 7:02Speaker 1: he's going, and that perhaps Violet being or not Violet
- 7:08Speaker 1: that's his daughter, well, no, that's his sister in law.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I guess, right, Scarlet, that maybe, like if people were
- 7:21Speaker 1: keeping enough of an eye on him and watching his movements,
- 7:24Speaker 1: like if I'm thinking Papa Razzi, you know that perhaps
- 7:27Speaker 1: somebody would spy the fact that Scarlet wasn't actually dead,
- 7:33Speaker 1: because you know, they like I think you were meant
- 7:35Speaker 1: to believe that they're in a very very remote area.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So probably it's fine, But I did sort of consider like,
- 7:43Speaker 1: is anybody uh, like you know, he would be probably
- 7:47Speaker 1: a pretty eligible bachelor. I feel like I could see
- 7:50Speaker 1: a lot of women sort of being like, yo, what
- 7:52Speaker 1: are you doing later and kind of like seeing what
- 7:55Speaker 1: his deal is and where he lives. Surprise, Princess is
- 7:58Speaker 1: still alive. So he goes to the palace and the
- 8:10Speaker 1: whole crew is already there as sinister as possible. He
- 8:16Speaker 1: is told to come in and see the new king,
- 8:22Speaker 1: and Monete says, we need you to come on your
- 8:24Speaker 1: own and also tries him to give up his sword,
- 8:28Speaker 1: to which he is like, lol, that is absolutely never
- 8:30Speaker 1: going to happen. And when he goes into the room,
- 8:38Speaker 1: the king is bleeding and on his side. It's a
- 8:42Speaker 1: bad scene. Kids. Things do not look good, and he
- 8:48Speaker 1: is faced with like a group of people that he
- 8:53Speaker 1: wants to be able to just straight up fight, but
- 8:55Speaker 1: he is just so out of his depth on with
- 9:00Speaker 1: the I don't know if, like you guys know, when
- 9:05Speaker 1: we first started this whole thing, my assumption with the
- 9:07Speaker 1: tournament was that we weren't going to be letting people
- 9:09Speaker 1: who had devil fruit powers into the tournament at all.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I was quickly disabused of that, and I'm sort of
- 9:19Speaker 1: wondering if that's a special circumstance. Were the people who
- 9:24Speaker 1: were normally put into the Colosseum able to have devil
- 9:28Speaker 1: fruit powers, I kind of think that there wouldn't be
- 9:31Speaker 1: a lot of sport to it, but there would also
- 9:34Speaker 1: be a great spectacle to it, and maybe that, like
- 9:38Speaker 1: the point of the Colosseum then is just different than
- 9:41Speaker 1: it is now. Now. It's meant to be about the
- 9:44Speaker 1: spectacle and the just like bread and Circuses sort of vibes, right,
- 9:52Speaker 1: we're just throwing these scraps out to the masses to
- 9:57Speaker 1: deflate their bloodlust a little bit, really the energy. But
- 10:03Speaker 1: in the time when Kiros was fighting, the whole point
- 10:06Speaker 1: of the Colosseum was meant to be much more the
- 10:11Speaker 1: perfection of skill and the like honor behind the fight
- 10:16Speaker 1: and all of that. So I have to assume that
- 10:21Speaker 1: based on that as the motive, we probably weren't allowing
- 10:26Speaker 1: devil fruit power users into the arena, because like, what
- 10:30Speaker 1: are you even supposed to do against that? At the
- 10:33Speaker 1: same time, though, devil fruit powers are out there, and
- 10:36Speaker 1: if you want to be a really good fighter going
- 10:38Speaker 1: up against people who have those abilities, isn't a terrible
- 10:41Speaker 1: way to train. I don't know. I really don't know
- 10:44Speaker 1: how I feel about it. But my assumption here is
- 10:49Speaker 1: that he is in a room surrounded by people who
- 10:51Speaker 1: are not like they are also far above his level,
- 10:56Speaker 1: and he doesn't know it yet, and even if he
- 10:59Speaker 1: did know, based on what we see of Kiros's personality,
- 11:02Speaker 1: it just wouldn't matter. He would do what he does anyway.
- 11:07Speaker 1: So we have him grabbed up by a bunch of
- 11:11Speaker 1: dudes who are it's such a weird thing, you guys,
- 11:16Speaker 1: because I don't know if this is supposed to be
- 11:20Speaker 1: a bit of a culture thing. But these dudes lock
- 11:24Speaker 1: him in manacles, and Kiros is thinking, well, why did
- 11:29Speaker 1: you guys do this? I don't have devil fruit powers
- 11:31Speaker 1: and they're just like no, but they're regular manacles that
- 11:34Speaker 1: also do regular manical things, which is what we need
- 11:36Speaker 1: right now. But when these guys who lock him up
- 11:39Speaker 1: back away, they all rub their fist under their chin
- 11:44Speaker 1: in the same, like similar motion that I don't know
- 11:47Speaker 1: if that's like something that's supposed to convey on trustworthiness
- 11:52Speaker 1: or something, but it was just such a specific movement
- 11:55Speaker 1: that I really was sort of does that mean something
- 11:58Speaker 1: what is that? And so he is left to face
- 12:04Speaker 1: Do Flamingo in this state, and once he sees Riku
- 12:10Speaker 1: and the way that he has been treated, he completely
- 12:15Speaker 1: loses his shit. And the way it's animated, it really
- 12:19Speaker 1: took a second for me to understand what was happening
- 12:22Speaker 1: because it has him. It's like the black screen and
- 12:26Speaker 1: then you see like the red slash for the blade.
- 12:30Speaker 1: You see this object get parted into two pieces, but
- 12:36Speaker 1: it's like there's no The way it's animated is really bloodless,
- 12:42Speaker 1: which is weird because this show doesn't tend to shy
- 12:45Speaker 1: away from blood. It's like there's little fragments that fly
- 12:49Speaker 1: apart from the spot where it's been cut in half.
- 12:53Speaker 1: But the fragments are more bluish than anything, and they
- 12:56Speaker 1: almost look like broken pieces, like if you piece of
- 13:00Speaker 1: porcelain or something. It is not giving a sliced leg
- 13:05Speaker 1: at all. And so I really think that I can
- 13:11Speaker 1: be forgiven for not fully getting what it was that
- 13:13Speaker 1: was happening here because I did not I was not
- 13:17Speaker 1: seeing it. And even when he's flying through the air
- 13:20Speaker 1: at Do Flamingo with only one leg, the illustration could
- 13:25Speaker 1: simply be that one of his legs is so far
- 13:27Speaker 1: out behind him that to draw it in perspective, you
- 13:31Speaker 1: just can't see his foot in this position, which is
- 13:34Speaker 1: what I thought was happening. It's not until do Flamingo says,
- 13:38Speaker 1: crazy bastard cut off his own leg. But again, there's
- 13:43Speaker 1: no blood, and it's just weird. How okay with blood
- 13:47Speaker 1: this show often is. It's not like they go real
- 13:50Speaker 1: real heavy on it or anything. But you guys, remember,
- 13:53Speaker 1: way back in the beginning of me covering the show,
- 13:55Speaker 1: I was surprised that there was any because so many
- 13:58Speaker 1: shows don't really do that almost at all, unless they're tiny,
- 14:02Speaker 1: like facial wounds, to just indicate that somebody has been
- 14:04Speaker 1: in a fight, things like that. So I guess what
- 14:09Speaker 1: the point is of doing it this way is just
- 14:11Speaker 1: to make it seem like there would be some way
- 14:15Speaker 1: for him to keep fighting despite what he just did
- 14:18Speaker 1: to himself. But like, you do that, and you do
- 14:23Speaker 1: it on the correct leg and that's your artery and
- 14:26Speaker 1: you're just gonna drop dead. So I wouldn't advise it. Friends,
- 14:31Speaker 1: he could have cut his own foot off, that probably
- 14:36Speaker 1: would have managed a little bit better, but he cut
- 14:40Speaker 1: off like mid thigh, and I just think that was excessive.
- 14:44Speaker 1: There was no need to go that way. You didn't
- 14:46Speaker 1: have to cut that far up your leg, sir. And
- 14:49Speaker 1: as he's flying through the air toward do Flamingo, Sugar
- 14:55Speaker 1: steps in, puts out a hand and turns him into
- 15:00Speaker 1: the toy soldier with one leg. You know. Setting aside
- 15:07Speaker 1: my feelings on Sugar's powers, I do have to mention
- 15:13Speaker 1: what a creepy little girl she is guys, like, truly
- 15:19Speaker 1: unnerving the way that she seems to have so little
- 15:23Speaker 1: reaction to things. But then, like you know, earlier on,
- 15:27Speaker 1: I was sort of thinking, it doesn't even seem like
- 15:29Speaker 1: she really wants to be doing this. Maybe we can
- 15:31Speaker 1: just convince her to stop and she'll say okay and
- 15:34Speaker 1: not care. But I've come to realize that she isn't
- 15:40Speaker 1: doing this because she has nothing better to do. She
- 15:43Speaker 1: wants to be doing this. It's just that she doesn't
- 15:46Speaker 1: express her interest or excitement in any way that I'm
- 15:49Speaker 1: familiar with. She keeps such a lid on her emotions
- 15:54Speaker 1: and reactions to things, or perhaps she just doesn't have
- 15:57Speaker 1: that many like strong emotions or reactions to things, But
- 16:01Speaker 1: either way, like just the way that she like peeks
- 16:05Speaker 1: out and says, get him, guys, And that's like the
- 16:10Speaker 1: full I mean, I might be even adding a little
- 16:12Speaker 1: bit more emotion than the way she said it. Get him, guys.
- 16:16Speaker 1: It's like so flat and nothing, and even in the
- 16:20Speaker 1: present when she's like yelling at Trouble to eat shit
- 16:25Speaker 1: and die, basically she says it with so little feeling that,
- 16:29Speaker 1: Uh yeah, I think I just like misunderstood her character
- 16:34Speaker 1: because she keeps everything kind of under a lid, you know, which,
- 16:42Speaker 1: because she's a kid, is extra creepy. The fact that,
- 16:47Speaker 1: like anybody who is involved in this kind of like
- 16:51Speaker 1: monstrous shit, putting a damper on their emotions would make sense.
- 16:57Speaker 1: But a child, we know that, Like she's not as
- 17:00Speaker 1: like a child. She actually isn't, but she looks like one.
- 17:04Speaker 1: She has the voice of one, and so it just
- 17:06Speaker 1: doesn't feel appropriate that somebody this young should have this
- 17:10Speaker 1: kind of mastery over their emotions, you know what I'm saying.
- 17:13Speaker 1: So it's just really upsetting. I don't like it. Sarahim
- 17:20Speaker 1: says this is one piece I could fully buy, Oda,
- 17:23Speaker 1: saying Kiros is just so epic. He could clench his
- 17:26Speaker 1: leg muscles hard enough to restrict the blood flow in
- 17:29Speaker 1: the stump, though he also got toyfied fast enough. I
- 17:32Speaker 1: buy him not bleeding out. I definitely buy him not
- 17:35Speaker 1: bleeding out. But there would be blood when he leaped
- 17:39Speaker 1: toward do Flamingo, there would be a lot of blood
- 17:42Speaker 1: around him, like in that animation. It should be pouring
- 17:47Speaker 1: out of his leg, and it is absolutely there's nothing.
- 17:51Speaker 1: There's not even a couple drops flying like we see
- 17:53Speaker 1: most of the time. So it's just funny because you know,
- 17:57Speaker 1: people will be hit with something that would ever cause
- 18:00Speaker 1: them to bleed, but we'll get animation with lots of
- 18:03Speaker 1: blood droplets, and then this which should have the most
- 18:06Speaker 1: blood of any injury we've seen aside from maybe ace,
- 18:10Speaker 1: and there's no blood whatsoever. So he gets turned into
- 18:16Speaker 1: this toy soldier, but evidently she did not give him
- 18:22Speaker 1: a contract here, and so he isn't under their command
- 18:27Speaker 1: in any way. And also it's like he has to
- 18:31Speaker 1: find out over the course of this episode that everybody
- 18:35Speaker 1: has forgotten about him because he didn't know that's what
- 18:37Speaker 1: was going to happen. It's sort of funny because, like
- 18:42Speaker 1: I want to say that people later on would have
- 18:45Speaker 1: the advantage of at least knowing. Folks would forget about them,
- 18:48Speaker 1: but they don't know that this is happening, so they
- 18:51Speaker 1: wouldn't have that advantage either. Everybody is just going to
- 18:55Speaker 1: be shocked at the fact that they are not remembered,
- 18:57Speaker 1: which is so tragic, you guys. I know that this
- 19:00Speaker 1: gets undone quite shortly at this point, but I just
- 19:05Speaker 1: can't imagine coming back into a world after undergoing this
- 19:11Speaker 1: trauma of being transformed in the first place, and finding
- 19:14Speaker 1: out that nobody even remembers you at all. That just
- 19:19Speaker 1: is so awful. Like the fact that the toys aren't
- 19:23Speaker 1: simply left in the factory to work, but that they
- 19:26Speaker 1: are made to go out into the world and just
- 19:28Speaker 1: be like regular citizens. I really don't I'm curious, you guys.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Maybe we got an explanation and I missed it, or
- 19:40Speaker 1: maybe we don't get an explanation at all, because we're
- 19:42Speaker 1: not really supposed to ask questions. What did people think
- 19:50Speaker 1: about how many toys suddenly began turning up? You know,
- 19:56Speaker 1: My original question had been before I understood the way
- 19:59Speaker 1: that this worked with the memory thing, was like, aren't
- 20:03Speaker 1: people wondering where their loved ones are disappearing to? But
- 20:08Speaker 1: now we have established that they don't remember them. It's
- 20:12Speaker 1: still difficult because you would have a whole room and
- 20:15Speaker 1: photos and property that had belonged to somebody, like you know,
- 20:19Speaker 1: Scarlett and Rebecca lived in a very small house that
- 20:23Speaker 1: I have to assume also included a lot of property
- 20:27Speaker 1: that had belonged to her father. And you're not noticing
- 20:31Speaker 1: that this is you know what I'm saying. But like,
- 20:34Speaker 1: setting all that aside, the memory thing doesn't affect that
- 20:39Speaker 1: you as a person living undress. Rosa have never seen
- 20:44Speaker 1: a toy moving around and talking and being a person before.
- 20:50Speaker 1: I really, really really want to know how we normalized
- 20:56Speaker 1: the toys being part of the community in this universe,
- 21:00Speaker 1: because when we first arrive here, I was so mystified
- 21:06Speaker 1: at the way that all this worked, and it seemed
- 21:08Speaker 1: like there were people who had like full on relationships
- 21:11Speaker 1: with toys and stuff, which I must have misunderstood because
- 21:16Speaker 1: it doesn't seem like that's possible because they're brought to
- 21:19Speaker 1: work fifty percent of the time and as far as
- 21:23Speaker 1: I know, they're not given any wage, So there's no
- 21:25Speaker 1: way to explain oh, I have a job, babe to
- 21:27Speaker 1: people when you're not getting paid at all. And when
- 21:31Speaker 1: I saw like little toys versus larger toys. I thought
- 21:34Speaker 1: that this was a signal of like, we've got adults
- 21:37Speaker 1: and we've got like their offspring, and it seems like
- 21:39Speaker 1: that wasn't true either, And I think maybe this is
- 21:43Speaker 1: also like partially a product of the animation and the
- 21:45Speaker 1: way that certain things are depicted. But I just want
- 21:49Speaker 1: to know how the heck they convinced everybody that this
- 21:54Speaker 1: was a totally normal way to live and yeah, we've
- 21:57Speaker 1: just got toys that are friends that come with us places,
- 22:00Speaker 1: just live in cities like regular people, like what Sarah
- 22:07Speaker 1: Fhim says. Given the toy started showing up at the
- 22:09Speaker 1: same time Dophie took over, he likely just gave some
- 22:11Speaker 1: BS cover story about how he was doing this and
- 22:14Speaker 1: why it's a good thing. He likely did, but we
- 22:16Speaker 1: don't see that, and I think that's kind of a
- 22:19Speaker 1: weird thing to overlook in the telling of this story,
- 22:23Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. It's just treated as if like, oh,
- 22:26Speaker 1: it's always been this way, and then we find out like, no,
- 22:29Speaker 1: this is a pretty recent thing. Actually, it's not until
- 22:33Speaker 1: do Flamingo came in here that this was how things worked.
- 22:36Speaker 1: And it's like the memory thing it simultaneously brainwashes everyone
- 22:43Speaker 1: into thinking that this is fine, which I could accept
- 22:47Speaker 1: if we weren't already giving Sugar three fucking superpowers. But
- 22:51Speaker 1: I will not give an additional fourth superpower of making
- 22:55Speaker 1: things seem normal to people. That's too many powers for her.
- 22:58Speaker 1: One devil Fruit can't do it, And like, and what
- 23:04Speaker 1: even do you say? What is your cover story? Because
- 23:07Speaker 1: toys that can talk and walk around This isn't like
- 23:11Speaker 1: something that's rare but known. This is something nobody has
- 23:15Speaker 1: ever heard of or seen before in their lives. So
- 23:18Speaker 1: I really if there is a cover story, I feel
- 23:21Speaker 1: like that should have been part of what we hear.
- 23:24Speaker 1: And he could even talk about like frame it is
- 23:27Speaker 1: him being heroic, Like there was an evil witch that
- 23:29Speaker 1: turned everybody into toys and they had nowhere to go,
- 23:32Speaker 1: and I took them in. You could frame it as like,
- 23:34Speaker 1: you know, I'm the hero here, but instead it's just like, oh, yeah,
- 23:40Speaker 1: this is all something that we all accept as normal
- 23:42Speaker 1: and it's just been this way, and then you find
- 23:44Speaker 1: out like, no, it hasn't just been this way, and
- 23:48Speaker 1: like everybody's just rolled with it for this long for
- 23:51Speaker 1: some reason. So yeah, eventually we have the uh Kiros
- 23:57Speaker 1: realizing that nobody remembers him, and then we have him
- 24:01Speaker 1: like wandering around and he it seems like he just
- 24:04Speaker 1: sort of stumbles across his wife in the alley and
- 24:10Speaker 1: he witnesses her murder, and it's really like the scene
- 24:19Speaker 1: the voice actor who plays him is doing a really
- 24:24Speaker 1: good job of like the terrible sobbing of how all
- 24:28Speaker 1: this happened and saying like this is hell and I
- 24:34Speaker 1: like these ten arms of mine, I can't even feel
- 24:37Speaker 1: your warmth one last time. It's like a good line,
- 24:40Speaker 1: but the scene of him actually being a toy soldier
- 24:43Speaker 1: is so like, goofy. It took me. It didn't really,
- 24:47Speaker 1: it took me out of it. I couldn't fully like
- 24:50Speaker 1: let myself feel in this scene because I was so distracted. Well,
- 24:54Speaker 1: we come back to the present and he asks Louf,
- 25:00Speaker 1: are all your friends? Are all the straw hats pirates?
- 25:05Speaker 1: And when Luviy's like, is that going to be a problem,
- 25:07Speaker 1: he says, no, I'm a criminal too, and I'm grateful
- 25:09Speaker 1: that we share a common goal. So we jump back
- 25:14Speaker 1: to the Colosseum here and we're seeing that like there's
- 25:18Speaker 1: a massive crack that's beginning to appear under the Colosseum
- 25:24Speaker 1: because of these fighters who have insane powers. And it
- 25:28Speaker 1: turns out that it's Burgess who is doing this, and
- 25:31Speaker 1: he's also like injuring people up in the stands who
- 25:35Speaker 1: are getting very irritated and not rooting for him anymore
- 25:38Speaker 1: because they're you know, he's smiling at them when they're
- 25:42Speaker 1: yelling at him. And I was like, I feel like
- 25:44Speaker 1: you really want to kind of court the favor of
- 25:46Speaker 1: the crowd a little bit more with this, But maybe
- 25:48Speaker 1: I'm wrong, maybe it just doesn't matter. And we jump
- 25:56Speaker 1: over to Diamante telling Rebecca how he is the one
- 26:03Speaker 1: who shot and killed her mother. Now, I just I
- 26:08Speaker 1: really want to point out once again that when we
- 26:14Speaker 1: come back to this moment, we do not immediately cut
- 26:20Speaker 1: back to Rebecca and her confrontation with Diamante. We cut
- 26:26Speaker 1: back to Burgess and him destroying the Colosseum, and then
- 26:31Speaker 1: we get to Rebecca and her confrontation with Diamante. I
- 26:36Speaker 1: can't get over how utterly nothing Rebecca is and is
- 26:42Speaker 1: being made to be. This moment and her finding out
- 26:46Speaker 1: who really killed her mother in the middle of the
- 26:48Speaker 1: arena should be such a moment, and it feels like
- 26:51Speaker 1: an afterthought in the way they're doing this storytelling. It
- 26:55Speaker 1: just it's bizarre this, especially especially after having just seen
- 27:01Speaker 1: the flashback from the toy Soldier and to cut to
- 27:07Speaker 1: right from there to here and her conversation with Dianmante
- 27:11Speaker 1: would make storytelling sense, it would just go together, But
- 27:15Speaker 1: bizarrely we do this like aside first with Loofy and
- 27:21Speaker 1: him and him asking like, are your friend's pirates? No,
- 27:25Speaker 1: it's fine, I'm a criminal myself. That's it. That's the
- 27:28Speaker 1: whole scene. It wasn't necessary, it did not need to
- 27:31Speaker 1: be there. And then we cut to Burgess in the
- 27:35Speaker 1: arena and all the damage and the people getting angry,
- 27:38Speaker 1: and then we go to Rebecca. Oh my god, why
- 27:40Speaker 1: would you do it this way? Cut immediately from the
- 27:45Speaker 1: flashback to Rebecca finding out the information that we just
- 27:49Speaker 1: saw in the flashback. It's just normally things are not
- 27:55Speaker 1: this poorly done. And I am just sort of flummoxed
- 27:59Speaker 1: that wat you would put them together in this order.
- 28:02Speaker 1: And all I can come up with is just that
- 28:04Speaker 1: Rebecca doesn't really seem to matter as a storytelling device,
- 28:08Speaker 1: even though much was made of her, And I can't
- 28:11Speaker 1: help but feel like it's just that she much was
- 28:15Speaker 1: made of her because she was in this like sexy
- 28:17Speaker 1: outfit and we just wanted a hot chick to look at.
- 28:20Speaker 1: And otherwise she is just like just disrespected as a
- 28:24Speaker 1: character so utterly. And even even this scene is nothing,
- 28:29Speaker 1: because once you cut back to them, all he does
- 28:32Speaker 1: is repeat, did you hear me that I'm the one
- 28:35Speaker 1: that killed your mother? And she's kneeling in front of
- 28:37Speaker 1: Diamante saying to herself, I'm so angry. I can't even
- 28:42Speaker 1: do anything. I can't even move really really, even now,
- 28:52Speaker 1: we're just gonna make it that she just like has
- 28:54Speaker 1: no ability to react, and like I was really hoping,
- 29:02Speaker 1: maybe now we'll get to see some rage from her.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Maybe now she'll actually step up and truly fight and
- 29:07Speaker 1: not just try to trip people and send them over
- 29:10Speaker 1: into the water. Maybe this is going to be the
- 29:13Speaker 1: thing that gets her riled up in a way that
- 29:17Speaker 1: we hadn't seen up until this point. And when she
- 29:21Speaker 1: said I don't want to fight, I don't want to
- 29:23Speaker 1: hurt anybody, it's like she's finally found somebody that though
- 29:26Speaker 1: that sentiment does not apply anymore, and maybe we will,
- 29:31Speaker 1: but I don't have any faith in that right now,
- 29:33Speaker 1: it just feels like this whole moment is just to
- 29:38Speaker 1: watch her be tormented on her knees with her tits out, crying,
- 29:44Speaker 1: and that's it and then we just like move on.
- 29:48Speaker 1: And I really hated it. I hate it so much.
- 29:52Speaker 1: So I'm getting this out of the way because I
- 29:54Speaker 1: hate this the most, and the rest of these episodes
- 29:59Speaker 1: I like much better and I approve of but this
- 30:02Speaker 1: is just such an egregious ongoing thing the way that
- 30:06Speaker 1: every time I get my hopes up about what they're
- 30:08Speaker 1: doing with her, it turns out that I'm wrong and
- 30:10Speaker 1: that's not where we're going with it at all. I
- 30:14Speaker 1: feel like such a dumb dumb for getting my hopes up,
- 30:17Speaker 1: and I resent it. I really do, all right. So
- 30:24Speaker 1: we briefly cut over to Frankie and everybody is saying,
- 30:28Speaker 1: like the cyborg is down, and I thought, maybe is
- 30:32Speaker 1: he gonna like get up this time again? But he doesn't.
- 30:35Speaker 1: He says, oos Up, I'm counting on you. I know
- 30:38Speaker 1: you've got this, And we cut to Oosap, who is
- 30:45Speaker 1: doing his like special attacks over and over and over
- 30:49Speaker 1: again at trouble. He uses like a giant mallet. All
- 30:53Speaker 1: of this stuff, and he we have like a little
- 30:57Speaker 1: bit where we're sort of from one toy to another,
- 31:02Speaker 1: and they're all thinking about the fact that somebody is
- 31:04Speaker 1: fighting for them out there, and they're all hoping maybe
- 31:08Speaker 1: that this is, you know, this person's going to be
- 31:11Speaker 1: able to get us out of here. I'm rooting for you.
- 31:14Speaker 1: And a lot of them are people who actually have resources,
- 31:19Speaker 1: saying things like, oh, if you do this, if you
- 31:21Speaker 1: managed to get me out of this, I'll give you XYZ,
- 31:25Speaker 1: you know, and they all have like they're all sort
- 31:28Speaker 1: of making these pledges about the way that they will
- 31:33Speaker 1: reward us up for saving them. So I'm hoping that, like,
- 31:38Speaker 1: even though I don't have a lot of interest in
- 31:42Speaker 1: USA being treated as a god after the way he behaved,
- 31:45Speaker 1: if he like manages to gain anything by this, at
- 31:49Speaker 1: least all the other straw hats will also gain by it.
- 31:52Speaker 1: And I suppose that's something I can let him have
- 31:56Speaker 1: that for their sakes at least. So Treble after because
- 32:06Speaker 1: they like wind up gripping up us up really easily,
- 32:13Speaker 1: Treble gets a call from Do Flamingo and tells him,
- 32:16Speaker 1: like not to worry, everything is fine. Us up meanwhile,
- 32:21Speaker 1: is so fucked up from this fight that he cannot
- 32:27Speaker 1: move at all, and we have Sugar come up to
- 32:31Speaker 1: him with the poisoned grape and she says it's better
- 32:34Speaker 1: if you eat it, and she tosses it in his mouth.
- 32:38Speaker 1: He swallows it, and it takes a minute, and then
- 32:43Speaker 1: all of a sudden he completely like freaks out. It's
- 32:48Speaker 1: like this massive it almost like his body explodes, and
- 32:53Speaker 1: he startles Sugar so badly that she passes out. And
- 33:00Speaker 1: so we actually do get the sugar over surprise attack
- 33:07Speaker 1: or SOP, which I always keep hearing as soob to
- 33:10Speaker 1: be honest, But yeah, so there, thing with the grape
- 33:17Speaker 1: actually did work, just in a distinctly different direction than
- 33:24Speaker 1: any of us probably had thought of. And I liked
- 33:28Speaker 1: this as a development. I thought that this was kind
- 33:30Speaker 1: of a fun way to do it, especially too because
- 33:33Speaker 1: of the fact that, like I'm irritated with Oosop him
- 33:36Speaker 1: having to suffer by swallowing this thing, I thought was
- 33:40Speaker 1: only fair, you know what I'm saying, Like it just seems, yeah,
- 33:46Speaker 1: after everything, you should you should have to eat that
- 33:49Speaker 1: fucking grape. So she passes out, and as she passes out,
- 33:55Speaker 1: we just go to to be continued and then the
- 33:57Speaker 1: next episode is almost entirely people coming out of their
- 34:05Speaker 1: toy bodies. If that's the way that I want to
- 34:09Speaker 1: say out say it. And I like the fact that,
- 34:16Speaker 1: like Kiros is wondering how everybody else is going to
- 34:20Speaker 1: react once people begin to reappear where toys were, because
- 34:25Speaker 1: they're going to get their memories back as well. So
- 34:29Speaker 1: I don't know if the assumption is that once they
- 34:32Speaker 1: get their memories back, they will understand that they have
- 34:36Speaker 1: been duped, or at the very least they will know
- 34:41Speaker 1: something's up. I don't think that they have enough information
- 34:44Speaker 1: to connect the dots. And really, like when somebody reappears,
- 34:48Speaker 1: they're like, oh, I remember you, and now I know
- 34:50Speaker 1: that Do Flamingo turned you into a toy with one
- 34:53Speaker 1: of his people. I don't think it'll be like that,
- 34:56Speaker 1: but maybe they'll start to realize, like the scale on
- 35:02Speaker 1: which this happened was so huge that it had to
- 35:07Speaker 1: be something that Do Flamingo was ultimately behind, because there's
- 35:10Speaker 1: no way, you know. So I'm sorry, I'm I'm just
- 35:19Speaker 1: trying to make sure that I get to the right
- 35:20Speaker 1: spot here, because when everybody starts getting out of their
- 35:23Speaker 1: toy selves, it's very very funny to me how much
- 35:29Speaker 1: we zero in on Robin's tits an ass before she
- 35:32Speaker 1: turns into her normal self. It is just so intense.
- 35:36Speaker 1: I mean, my god, it looks like her boobs grew
- 35:38Speaker 1: two cupsize as well. She was a toy also. And
- 35:43Speaker 1: what I thought was interesting as well was that I
- 35:46Speaker 1: had said before how I felt like the toys didn't
- 35:50Speaker 1: resemble the people at all. Once they were transformed, they
- 35:54Speaker 1: looked totally different, and mostly that did seem to be true.
- 36:01Speaker 1: But once we see folks out in the streets getting
- 36:05Speaker 1: transformed back into themselves, there is a like a pretty
- 36:09Speaker 1: intense similarity with a lot of them between what they
- 36:13Speaker 1: look like as a toy and what they look like
- 36:15Speaker 1: as a human being. And so I guess I was
- 36:21Speaker 1: wrong about that. Maybe it varies, I don't know, it
- 36:23Speaker 1: doesn't matter, but I did just want to acknowledge it, because,
- 36:27Speaker 1: like I said, Robin bore no resemblance at all to
- 36:31Speaker 1: the doll that she became. So it is just sort
- 36:33Speaker 1: of strange how many of these guys are truly almost
- 36:38Speaker 1: exactly the same coloring and facial markings and everything when
- 36:42Speaker 1: they're toys, and some of the toys when they turn
- 36:46Speaker 1: back into people are giants. They're huge, and some of
- 36:53Speaker 1: them are animals. We have like a gorilla. I think
- 36:58Speaker 1: that's like in the arena stands, it's just a lot
- 37:02Speaker 1: of chaos. And I wonder about, like there's a girl
- 37:09Speaker 1: that had been with this guy and she stops and
- 37:12Speaker 1: suddenly goes I think I already have a boyfriend. And
- 37:16Speaker 1: I really liked that because you know, in some cases,
- 37:19Speaker 1: the toy that replaced your family member is going to
- 37:23Speaker 1: be right in front of you, and so you'll look
- 37:24Speaker 1: at him and be like, oh my god, you are
- 37:26Speaker 1: x y Z. But I was sort of wondering, if
- 37:29Speaker 1: they're not in front of your face, are you going
- 37:31Speaker 1: to suddenly be flooded with the memories? And it seems like, yeah,
- 37:36Speaker 1: that's exactly how that happens. And of course all of
- 37:43Speaker 1: the tantata are celebrating. They are so excited that they
- 37:46Speaker 1: managed to pull this off. Treble has to call up
- 37:50Speaker 1: Do Flamingo and explain to him about the thing with
- 37:54Speaker 1: the toys, and I was sort of wondering if, like
- 37:57Speaker 1: Do Flamingo, just has this tendency to really play off
- 38:03Speaker 1: any loss as if it was all part of his
- 38:07Speaker 1: big plan or if not that at least that it
- 38:11Speaker 1: doesn't really matter to him. But here he really reacts badly,
- 38:17Speaker 1: and I was like, I genuinely wasn't sure. Is he
- 38:20Speaker 1: just gonna be like kind of try to behave as
- 38:24Speaker 1: if he can still salvage all of this. But he
- 38:27Speaker 1: gets really mad and he is sweating, he is really angry.
- 38:33Speaker 1: And when he goes and looks over at the screen
- 38:36Speaker 1: that's showing like the Colosseum, he gets to see all
- 38:41Speaker 1: of these people turning back and the announcer just being like, wait,
- 38:47Speaker 1: what is going on here? I don't know how to
- 38:50Speaker 1: explain this. They're turning into humans. The toys working at
- 38:55Speaker 1: the port suddenly turned into pirates, and we have all
- 39:00Speaker 1: of the transponder snails going nuts. They turned into soldiers
- 39:05Speaker 1: or government officials, marines and foreign royalty. The idea that
- 39:11Speaker 1: you could disappear a member of foreign royalty and nobody
- 39:16Speaker 1: would have enough of a record to ask questions even
- 39:19Speaker 1: if they didn't remember them is truly wild. But it's fine.
- 39:26Speaker 1: There's an elephant, a huge snake at a lion like.
- 39:34Speaker 1: The thing that I keep wondering about is when did
- 39:37Speaker 1: they come across these things? And why did they transform them?
- 39:40Speaker 1: Was it because they were genuine threats or was Sugar
- 39:43Speaker 1: just kind of like I'd like a pet, Yeah, I'll
- 39:44Speaker 1: have a pet snake and just decided to, like, you
- 39:46Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I would love to hear the
- 39:50Speaker 1: story behind the reason why some of them got got
- 39:53Speaker 1: the way that they did and this sequence of them
- 40:00Speaker 1: turning back into humans. It goes on a really really
- 40:01Speaker 1: long time. But then we go back to oos Up
- 40:07Speaker 1: and it like he passes out. Of course, we know
- 40:12Speaker 1: that he's going to be fine, but everybody is behaving
- 40:14Speaker 1: as if he's dead, and the pirates and stuff who
- 40:17Speaker 1: had been transformed are like, all right, now it's time
- 40:21Speaker 1: to just rereak fucking havoc out there. And they come
- 40:25Speaker 1: at Treble. I think who was on the phone still
- 40:29Speaker 1: with do Flamingo, So they are listening when he gets
- 40:35Speaker 1: attacked and what's his face with the with the teeth
- 40:39Speaker 1: is like it sounds like something's going wrong out there? Man,
- 40:44Speaker 1: are you okay? And let's see Fujitaura says, it appears
- 40:50Speaker 1: that the tides have turned despite all appearances, there is
- 40:54Speaker 1: a deep darkness here, much deeper than I had anticipated. Darkness,
- 41:01Speaker 1: Like how and he sits up and opens his uh
- 41:07Speaker 1: blind eyes up at the sky. This again, this long
- 41:11Speaker 1: drawn out. I just want to read it verbatim, so
- 41:13Speaker 1: it just takes so long for him to get to
- 41:14Speaker 1: the point. But yeah, unsurprisingly everybody is just fighting back.
- 41:19Speaker 1: I mean, after all this time, like actually having in
- 41:23Speaker 1: your mind your right mind and not being able to
- 41:26Speaker 1: act on any of it or do anything externally oof
- 41:30Speaker 1: And you know, it's a weird combination where you've got
- 41:33Speaker 1: like regular people, you've got pirates, you've got military, so
- 41:39Speaker 1: it's it's a lot of folks who are experienced with fighting,
- 41:44Speaker 1: not just some kind of rabble and do Flamingo is
- 41:48Speaker 1: extremely agitated. I was so gratified. I really wasn't sure
- 41:55Speaker 1: how he was going to behave with this, and I
- 41:57Speaker 1: worried that it was going to kind of be nothing.
- 42:01Speaker 1: I really thought that this would end a lot of
- 42:04Speaker 1: his plans. But sometimes folks have like a little backup plan,
- 42:09Speaker 1: or they have a way of like steamrolling over everything
- 42:13Speaker 1: and making people believe like this. This is what happened
- 42:16Speaker 1: a couple times with fucking Caesar clown, is that his
- 42:22Speaker 1: men found out that he was full of shit, And
- 42:25Speaker 1: I thought, okay, it's game over for him, and then
- 42:28Speaker 1: it wasn't because they explained it away, and I sort
- 42:31Speaker 1: of thought, is that going to be something that happens
- 42:33Speaker 1: that they still get fooled. Also, also, I want to
- 42:37Speaker 1: add that I had thought, because you guys had mentioned
- 42:40Speaker 1: how long this arc is being in dress Rosa, I
- 42:44Speaker 1: had kind of resigned myself to a lot of this
- 42:46Speaker 1: stuff not happening for quite a while. So it's like
- 42:49Speaker 1: the shock of it happening this soon and also the
- 42:51Speaker 1: shock of it happening so close together. It's like a combo,
- 42:54Speaker 1: you know. I just really didn't think that we were
- 42:58Speaker 1: going to have a a resolution of this part of
- 43:05Speaker 1: the story this quickly. There's still a lot more that
- 43:08Speaker 1: needs to happen, so I don't anticipate that this is
- 43:12Speaker 1: the end of this at all. But I just didn't
- 43:17Speaker 1: think that we would have as so much more to
- 43:20Speaker 1: do here that we could get to this point this
- 43:23Speaker 1: quickly and still have more happening. Sorry, Seraphim says, I'm
- 43:31Speaker 1: totally in the sugar was bored and just wanted to
- 43:34Speaker 1: have some fun camp for that, But yeah, I want
- 43:36Speaker 1: the story. Yeah, I like I'm sort of in the
- 43:39Speaker 1: same boat like you know if they just landed on
- 43:42Speaker 1: a random island and get attacked by a lion and
- 43:45Speaker 1: she could just pop, Okay, no lion anymore, probably just
- 43:49Speaker 1: like also basic stuff like that. But yeah, I wouldn't
- 43:54Speaker 1: be surprised if she was like, I'm gonna create my
- 43:55Speaker 1: own little menagerie for myself. So then we see the
- 44:00Speaker 1: moment where Rebecca remembers her father and he has you know,
- 44:06Speaker 1: he's like right in the palace here, So when he transforms,
- 44:13Speaker 1: Violet is right there and suddenly realizes who he is.
- 44:18Speaker 1: It would be fucked up if you got turned back
- 44:20Speaker 1: into a person. And then his leg just started bleeding
- 44:22Speaker 1: again and he just died, Like the only thing that
- 44:24Speaker 1: saved his life was the fact that he got transformed
- 44:26Speaker 1: into a toy. And so now that he's a human
- 44:28Speaker 1: being again, that's just a rap that would suck and
- 44:35Speaker 1: broken just travel as well with one leg as anybody.
- 44:41Speaker 1: It's like the dude is It's basically like he has
- 44:47Speaker 1: the same weird power that Do Flamingo has. He's essentially flying,
- 44:53Speaker 1: and Violet has to explain to Loofy, like who this
- 44:58Speaker 1: guy is and you know him being the strongest gladiator
- 45:02Speaker 1: and Lufy's like Rebecca told me that she didn't know
- 45:06Speaker 1: that guy, and Violet's like, yeah, she didn't remember him,
- 45:09Speaker 1: but yeah, that's her father. And the episode ends with
- 45:15Speaker 1: Kiros going into Do Flamingo's main room and attacking him
- 45:21Speaker 1: with tears in his eyes and saying to King Riku,
- 45:24Speaker 1: I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, but here I come.
- 45:30Speaker 1: And he slices off do Flamingo's head, and you know,
- 45:35Speaker 1: everybody gasps. I was very much like, okay, so now
- 45:40Speaker 1: what because this can't be it. Do Flamingo's expression when
- 45:45Speaker 1: his head is cut off, by the way, is hilarious.
- 45:49Speaker 1: He is just so irritated. It doesn't look like he's
- 45:52Speaker 1: in pain, it doesn't look like he's like he just
- 45:57Speaker 1: looks ticked off, you know. So of course we have
- 46:01Speaker 1: the long dramatic reaction of everybody in the room at
- 46:06Speaker 1: the start of the next episode again and a bunch
- 46:11Speaker 1: of the henchmen mobilizing. But like, Do Flamingo's body is
- 46:16Speaker 1: still standing. His head is on the other side of
- 46:19Speaker 1: the room, but it's not like his body dropped to
- 46:22Speaker 1: the floor, so he's not dead. Meanwhile, Loofy is like,
- 46:27Speaker 1: oh no, he killed him. I was gonna kick his ass.
- 46:30Speaker 1: This sucks, and I'm just like, don't worry, bra You're
- 46:34Speaker 1: gonna be able to get to do it eventually. I'm
- 46:39Speaker 1: trying to jump past because we get a lot more
- 46:42Speaker 1: of the like Rebecca remembering her father thing, and let's see, okay,
- 46:53Speaker 1: here it is. This is a point where because we're
- 46:55Speaker 1: back in the coliseum for a little bit here, and
- 46:58Speaker 1: Sabo is saying, there's a core at the heart of things,
- 47:02Speaker 1: and once you find that, anything great or small can
- 47:05Speaker 1: be undone, and Bartolomeo says, you lost me. I love
- 47:12Speaker 1: this so much. You look cool as hell, and I
- 47:15Speaker 1: do look up to you. But you lost me. That
- 47:20Speaker 1: cracked me up. You look cool as hell, and I
- 47:22Speaker 1: look up to you. So Sabo is like punching. He's
- 47:29Speaker 1: punching is too strong a word, but he's like tapping
- 47:31Speaker 1: his knuckles against the floor of the colisseum, and he
- 47:35Speaker 1: finally says, I think it's about time we wrap this up,
- 47:39Speaker 1: and his arms are covered in armament hockey and he
- 47:44Speaker 1: bashes down into the ground and reminder like people turning
- 47:48Speaker 1: back into themselves has mostly evacuated the Colisseum, so there's
- 47:52Speaker 1: pretty few people left in here. But I really thought
- 47:56Speaker 1: that once they all began to flee, that that was
- 47:59Speaker 1: kind of going to be the end of this fight.
- 48:02Speaker 1: And then the announcer turns out to still be there,
- 48:05Speaker 1: and as Sabo does this thing, he continues announcing about it,
- 48:10Speaker 1: and Sabo uses dragon claw, fist and dragon breath and
- 48:16Speaker 1: he breaks the whole platform that they are standing on,
- 48:20Speaker 1: the solid stone platform, and the like. All I could
- 48:26Speaker 1: think was like, uh, you might be killing a lot
- 48:28Speaker 1: of people here, Bud, but okay, And this leads to
- 48:33Speaker 1: him managing to catch the flying fish and apprehend the
- 48:40Speaker 1: devil Fruit for himself. Once again, I really never thought
- 48:46Speaker 1: we were going to have him catch the devil Fruit
- 48:49Speaker 1: within the same couple of episodes. As everybody is turned
- 48:52Speaker 1: back into humans and I Love Diamante is on the
- 48:56Speaker 1: ground and he yells something like I think it says
- 49:01Speaker 1: like we never intended to give out that prize, and
- 49:07Speaker 1: so what we're finding out is that this whole thing
- 49:11Speaker 1: was just a complete like farce, which Diamante knew that.
- 49:15Speaker 1: I have to assume that not a single other person did.
- 49:20Speaker 1: And I wonder how they would have gotten away with it,
- 49:24Speaker 1: because mostly what do Flamingo has managed to do is
- 49:28Speaker 1: through a lot of like pr and manipulation of memory
- 49:33Speaker 1: and circumstance, he has managed to convince people that folks
- 49:40Speaker 1: have made certain choices that they haven't made with his
- 49:42Speaker 1: controlling not Kiros the King, I can't remember his name,
- 49:48Speaker 1: but with this, like the flame Flame fruit, all I
- 49:56Speaker 1: could think was, like, I would expect the presentation of
- 50:00Speaker 1: this fruit to be kind of a big deal, like
- 50:02Speaker 1: you would. Once somebody reached it, they would be declared
- 50:05Speaker 1: the winner, and then there would be like a ceremony
- 50:08Speaker 1: where you give it to them and everybody watches them
- 50:11Speaker 1: eat it and get their powers. So that was what
- 50:16Speaker 1: I would expect, And I wonder how they would have
- 50:20Speaker 1: gotten around it. But maybe, oh, oh that's fair, Sarah
- 50:24Speaker 1: Fhim says, likely they would have just made sure Dofie
- 50:26Speaker 1: Screw won that final bout and so no one gets
- 50:28Speaker 1: to win the prize. Yeah, that's probably what Diamante meant. Actually,
- 50:33Speaker 1: now that you say that, was just like we didn't
- 50:35Speaker 1: plan on giving it away because we didn't plan on
- 50:37Speaker 1: letting anybody else win. That's much simpler. So yeah, I
- 50:41Speaker 1: think you're right. So anyway, sorry about it, but your
- 50:47Speaker 1: plans have gone awry because Sabo bus open this trunk,
- 50:54Speaker 1: grabs the fruit, and like, there is a moment, you guys,
- 50:58Speaker 1: where he is hovering in mid air and the is
- 51:00Speaker 1: hovering in mid air in front of him, and he
- 51:02Speaker 1: does not yet have it in hand. And I was
- 51:06Speaker 1: so concerned that Bro was going to be taking too
- 51:11Speaker 1: long staring at this fruit in wonder and somebody else
- 51:14Speaker 1: was going to shoot up there and just grab it
- 51:16Speaker 1: right out from under him. I really did have a
- 51:19Speaker 1: moment of like, dude, if you don't fucking take that
- 51:21Speaker 1: thing right now, it is about to be over for you,
- 51:24Speaker 1: like come on. And thankfully he grabs it and takes
- 51:29Speaker 1: a bite. And when he took a bite, I literally said,
- 51:33Speaker 1: oh damn, because I just kept expecting something to happen
- 51:38Speaker 1: to stop him from taking a bite. Now my question
- 51:42Speaker 1: for all of you. He takes a bite, and that
- 51:46Speaker 1: seems to be all it requires for him to get
- 51:49Speaker 1: this power. But there's plenty of fruit left. Can you
- 51:56Speaker 1: split it? Can you like eat a bite and hand
- 52:01Speaker 1: it onto your friends and have them have a bite,
- 52:04Speaker 1: and then all of your entire crew has this like
- 52:07Speaker 1: same dope power. I don't think that's how it works,
- 52:11Speaker 1: but I kind of want it to be tried. I'd
- 52:16Speaker 1: be interested in seeing how that went. So yeah, he
- 52:21Speaker 1: he goes and takes a bite out of it. I
- 52:23Speaker 1: love that he immediately reacts with like ugh, and he
- 52:28Speaker 1: takes the flame flame fruit ability, flare, flare, frew as
- 52:32Speaker 1: they say in the subtitles, and then he Sabo is
- 52:43Speaker 1: experimenting a little bit, and he realizes that like the
- 52:48Speaker 1: flame on his hand doesn't actually hurt the way that
- 52:51Speaker 1: he expected it to because he has become part of
- 52:55Speaker 1: the fire. And he's doing this all by the way,
- 52:59Speaker 1: in mid air holding Rebecca up and is about to escape.
- 53:05Speaker 1: Uh Kowala, who's outside, is saying like, oh, I guess
- 53:09Speaker 1: that's my cue, and we see her jump into action.
- 53:13Speaker 1: And when Sabo's like whole disguise comes off, I had
- 53:18Speaker 1: a moment of like, wait, is Sabo hot? I can't
- 53:24Speaker 1: tell is he gonna be hot? We don't really see
- 53:27Speaker 1: much of his face. We just see a silhouette, but
- 53:29Speaker 1: we hadn't even seen that earlier. He's had his hat
- 53:31Speaker 1: on and then he had the helmet on that Loofy
- 53:33Speaker 1: had on. And you know, granted, he's still supposed to
- 53:37Speaker 1: be like super young in this show, but I definitely
- 53:41Speaker 1: am sort of like, word, are we about to are
- 53:44Speaker 1: we about to get a little bit of a heart
- 53:45Speaker 1: throb type here or what? So? Jumping back into the
- 53:51Speaker 1: uh the factory area where Trouble is, Nico Robin is
- 53:58Speaker 1: fighting against Trouble because Sugar is still unconscious, and she
- 54:05Speaker 1: manages to stop him from hitting her with one of
- 54:08Speaker 1: his like glue strikes, and then this dude steps out
- 54:13Speaker 1: of nowhere and just fucking like kicks this guy. It
- 54:17Speaker 1: is this man is very very large, huge, and I
- 54:23Speaker 1: have to repeat that. He reminds me of some wrestler
- 54:27Speaker 1: that used to wear glasses like this that I don't
- 54:29Speaker 1: remember his name, but it was definitely somebody from like
- 54:32Speaker 1: the nineties. Okay, uh, Saraphim says per Oda. It only
- 54:40Speaker 1: takes one bite and you get the full power, and
- 54:42Speaker 1: whoever takes that first bite is the only one. But
- 54:46Speaker 1: most people don't realize this, so they eat the whole
- 54:48Speaker 1: thing just to be safe. I definitely would, you know,
- 54:51Speaker 1: if I were doing this, I would absolutely just be
- 54:53Speaker 1: like what if I, like, I eat the seeds, I'd
- 54:56Speaker 1: need to stand. I would just go for it just
- 54:58Speaker 1: in case. Who knows Sabo should be twenty two at
- 55:02Speaker 1: this point, Oh okay, so he's older than I'm realizing.
- 55:07Speaker 1: So this dude picks up usup. Who reminder is still
- 55:13Speaker 1: fucking almost unconscious. It's so weird because what they do
- 55:21Speaker 1: here it takes so long, but they have Oosup saying
- 55:25Speaker 1: things about how like he's getting like, don't move me
- 55:32Speaker 1: so much, and the sort of like thing he intended
- 55:36Speaker 1: to say is at the top of the screen. But
- 55:41Speaker 1: then you see the way that people are hearing what
- 55:45Speaker 1: he said and interpreting it. So when he says like
- 55:49Speaker 1: stop moving me around so much, what people are hearing
- 55:52Speaker 1: is I am so moved. And long story short, him
- 55:58Speaker 1: complaining adds up to like a whole speech of inspiration
- 56:05Speaker 1: on the people. And there's also folks who are like
- 56:09Speaker 1: acting as if the light pouring through because of the
- 56:11Speaker 1: broken ceiling is the light of his aura. And of
- 56:16Speaker 1: course he's being held in such a way that his
- 56:18Speaker 1: arms are outstretched like Christ on the cross. And it
- 56:23Speaker 1: is the weirdest direction to go with this. I mean, like,
- 56:30Speaker 1: I just never saw this coming. It's really really strange.
- 56:34Speaker 1: I think God Oosop is trying to say something and
- 56:39Speaker 1: he says, you people will be guided by me, and
- 56:50Speaker 1: that like again, this is not actually what he's saying.
- 56:53Speaker 1: It's what they hear. People put me down. You're the worst?
- 57:02Speaker 1: Will you stop open your blinded eyes? Blood is all
- 57:06Speaker 1: over my face, meat head. I don't know how this
- 57:12Speaker 1: is meant to translate, but apparently it's like do something
- 57:15Speaker 1: with the characters that are used, so it's like a
- 57:18Speaker 1: translation joke really but uh but yeah, so this leads
- 57:25Speaker 1: to like a weird cult following, and of course oos
- 57:29Speaker 1: Up is just like, well, okay, go destroy the factory
- 57:35Speaker 1: and rescue our friends. Can you do that? And of
- 57:39Speaker 1: course yeah, immediately they are going for it. And I
- 57:43Speaker 1: have to say it's funny because in the subtitle it
- 57:47Speaker 1: says toys cheer, even though none of them are toys anymore.
- 57:50Speaker 1: They are all just regular ass men. But yeah, the
- 57:54Speaker 1: toys cheer, so that's what they will be forever. Apparently
- 57:58Speaker 1: it's just everybody who had been a toy. And I
- 58:02Speaker 1: love that the episode ends with us Up looking down
- 58:05Speaker 1: and just saying, what the hell is wrong with these people?
- 58:08Speaker 1: And that's the end of the episode, which is really funny.
- 58:10Speaker 1: That's a funny way to end it and for him
- 58:12Speaker 1: to react, So yeah, I was hard on parts of
- 58:17Speaker 1: this episode, which I stand by, but I did like
- 58:20Speaker 1: the direction that we went eventually, and I am very
- 58:24Speaker 1: curious to see where we go further from here. Now
- 58:27Speaker 1: that we have got this transformation, what happens to dopf
- 58:30Speaker 1: Wiman And he's clearly not dead, so I don't know
- 58:36Speaker 1: how he gets out of it because there's like, there's
- 58:38Speaker 1: no way. As I said, his body was still standing upright,
- 58:41Speaker 1: So we don't get any of that this episode. It's
- 58:44Speaker 1: purely dealing with everything else. And then I guess we're
- 58:46Speaker 1: returning to do FILMINGO eventually. All Right, I gotta wrap
- 58:51Speaker 1: this up, but thank you guys again so much appreciate
- 58:53Speaker 1: you all. Thank you to Floren for commissioning this, thank
- 58:57Speaker 1: you to Sarah him for giving me info in the
- 58:59Speaker 1: chat very helpful. And until next time to Blue Motherfuckers.
- 59:33Speaker 1: That was an Unspoiled Network podcast
