- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Take, where we talk
- 0:04all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes.
- 0:10It all starts. Right now.
- 0:15Welcome back to the three O take presented by Chinook Cedry this
- 0:18episode 529 I'll be your host Kyle Corwin.
- 0:23I'm here with my Co host Nate Reyes.
- 0:29Nate, how do you do good people and my man Casey, how are we?
- 0:39You want to know my thought of the day?
- 0:41Just one thought today, huh? Just a singular thought is all I
- 0:45got for you today and then we and then we can get out of here.
- 0:49No, it's have you seen, have you or anybody else seen that very
- 0:58bizarre Angels narrative on MLB Network that they've been
- 1:03pushing? Am I the only one?
- 1:06Like is this is this like a case by case situation where where
- 1:11like, you know, they only push certain commercials of my TVI
- 1:16see this Angels promo on MLB Network multiple times a day,
- 1:23like multiple times within a game that I'm watching.
- 1:27It's the have you not seen the promo?
- 1:29It's like clips from MLB Network coach being like the Angel, like
- 1:33our friend of the pod Greg Amsinger is in.
- 1:36There's like, Angels are going to be the the sneaky team of of
- 1:41the season or whatever. And it's just Mike.
- 1:44It's just this promo clip. And I'm like, what?
- 1:48And it's the only team that I've seen these promo clips for on
- 1:50MLB Network. I'm like, what is this narrative
- 1:52that we're peddling here? I have a theory that like we're
- 1:55all like stuck in different MLBTV like loops to where
- 2:03there's like, you know what I'm saying?
- 2:07Like I see the same Zen commercials all the time.
- 2:10Yep, last year was the, I think it was the Shohei New Balance
- 2:18commercial. That's still pumping.
- 2:19That's still pumping like but I. Haven't seen it this year I just
- 2:22it never comes up for me now so like.
- 2:24Validating your point, I see it all the time.
- 2:27Right. We're all just like in these
- 2:28different matrixes of of MLBTV horrid, horrid commercials.
- 2:37The Zen commercials were were such a great thing in the
- 2:42beginning and they have just. They lost the plot.
- 2:44They lost the plot. They've lost their fastball, so
- 2:47like the spray paint of the home plate, it's.
- 2:55This Oh man, like they that was brilliant.
- 2:58And then they lost the plot. That mean they started like
- 3:02keying in like walk or walk off audio.
- 3:05And it's like, no, this is, this is not, this is not Zen.
- 3:08I don't. Yeah, we can't.
- 3:10Can we find something in the middle?
- 3:11I don't need you screaming on a walk off.
- 3:14And I don't need absolute manufactured sounds, you know,
- 3:19You know, those like sound guys that are like for cartoons that
- 3:23are like creating sounds and they're like breaking something
- 3:26next to the mic and it's supposed to.
- 3:28ASMR action OH. Yeah, that's 100% what's
- 3:31happening over there. Correct.
- 3:32Yeah, I'm with you like there's. Got to be something in between.
- 3:36Just crowd noise. It's going to be crowd noise.
- 3:38No, that even that that's that's.
- 3:40No, but I'm bored with like quiet crowd noise, which is you
- 3:44hear like vendors going up and down, hot dogs, beer, something.
- 3:50I don't need whatever this is I went over.
- 3:54Look, I'm with you and this wasn't intended to be a rant.
- 3:57I'm I'm actually wondering where this Angel, this MOB network
- 4:01angels sleeper team narrative is coming from.
- 4:04It's all I see. Which is I haven't caught any of
- 4:07that. Again, not a complaint, just
- 4:09curiosity. I did get the the Luis Robert
- 4:13commercial quite a bit. Have you gotten that one a
- 4:16bunch, Luis Robert? Oh, there more proof, more
- 4:21proof, dude, I get the Louise Robert, like you know how what
- 4:25the it'll have like it'll give him highlights and then you'll
- 4:28hear like different takes from different people.
- 4:31Then it's just like clipped together.
- 4:32Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's always, that's what
- 4:35you're getting. Yes, I get Louise Robert.
- 4:37This is interesting. Like what's his name?
- 4:42Robert Flores from LOV Central. And he's like, he always, it's
- 4:47always like Louise Robert. Great nickname.
- 4:50La Bandera and it's like that clips with like a Sean Casey
- 4:55like take about this. Like I get like Louise Robert
- 4:59commercials all the time. This is crazy.
- 5:02All right, So we've stumbled upon a new theory here.
- 5:05People across the country, baseball fans across the country
- 5:07are getting, they're getting pushed different, different
- 5:12campaigns, different narratives on MLB Network.
- 5:15If you're like, if you're watching MLBTV, OK, I'm going to
- 5:18dig into this. If they just mixed it up and I
- 5:20got some of yours and you got some of mine.
- 5:22But hey, I I could use some La Bandetta over here I'm.
- 5:26In my own loop all the time. OK, I'm going to dig into this
- 5:30more. I'm going to get I'm going to
- 5:30try to get some feedback. I'm I'm this is interesting.
- 5:34I mean, I knew like regionally they show like different like
- 5:37for local businesses like I get all that, but like.
- 5:40You got to do that. They're pushing, they're pushing
- 5:43different narratives on teams and players all over the place.
- 5:45And this is this is news to me. All right, interesting.
- 5:49Interesting you don't get those player profile ones though, huh?
- 5:51No, I do. I have not seen Louise Robert.
- 5:55That is interesting. Tell you a guy that I've gotten
- 6:02time or two before, Ronald Cunha junior and he has made he he's
- 6:09made headlines over the weekend and I need to address something
- 6:13in the chat first. Speaking of the Braves Brace fan
- 6:17in the chat, Andrew asked, Is that silver in your beard or
- 6:20leftovers from dinner? I'll have you know I'll have,
- 6:24I'll have you know that I kid you not today I literally, I, I
- 6:30googled because I've seen it with other people and I'm now
- 6:33I'm seeing it myself. Why patch?
- 6:35Why do the corners of the beard go Gray before anything else?
- 6:40Because that's hit. It's hitting me.
- 6:42And I'm like I said, I'm seeing it elsewhere and I need to get
- 6:45to the bottom sort of like our little commercial conundrum that
- 6:48we were just talking about. I need to get to the bottom of
- 6:50of why it's happening you're. Going to get low low rogaine
- 6:56beard. Just for man action.
- 6:57Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:58I don't know. We'll see, huh?
- 7:01Let a teammate do that in high school.
- 7:03It's pretty funny. He like couldn't grow a mustache
- 7:05and it was like barely coming in and then you got like 2.
- 7:08Completely different. Scenarios Night Black one.
- 7:12Completely different scenarios. Fortunately I don't have that
- 7:15problem. But anyway, yeah, little,
- 7:18little, little grey action. It's fine.
- 7:20It's been. It's been addressed.
- 7:22What does the wife think? That's the only thing that
- 7:23matters. She probably has feelings about
- 7:26it but hasn't told me yet so that's.
- 7:29That's not a good sign. Yeah, that's fine.
- 7:32They like it, they verbalize it, right?
- 7:34So. Well, Speaking of verbalizing,
- 7:37Brian Snicker got put in the hot seat for this.
- 7:40This Ronald Cunha Junior accent. Accent.
- 7:45What? Why did I say accent?
- 7:46Sorry, I was reading the chat. Just put a bow on this thing.
- 7:52The beard will become grey slowly but surely.
- 7:54Mine's mostly grey now, but not my hair.
- 7:55Good. I'm.
- 7:56I'm happy for you, Jason. Keep that.
- 7:59Keep that hair. No, I don't know why I said
- 8:03accent, but incident is what I meant to say.
- 8:07That's what I meant to say. So it was, well, this was
- 8:14Saturday. Saturday, Jared Koenig that.
- 8:24Was Friday. Saturday, Jared Koenig, pims a
- 8:27ball off the wall, Tries like it out.
- 8:32Plays reviewed. How was the second?
- 8:37Called out the drama. The issue that resulted was
- 8:45Ronald Cunha Junior, who by the way isn't even playing at the
- 8:49moment. Tweeted out in response to a
- 8:53Mark Bowman tweet that said that was responding to a a user on
- 8:59Twitter who said I missed snitch comment on Kelnick's lack of
- 9:03hustle and getting thrown out at second last night.
- 9:05Mark Bowman, the reporter, said he protected Kelnick by
- 9:08replying. Was I supposed to?
- 9:11When asked if he had said anything to Kellenick, he
- 9:14certainly could have said something.
- 9:16See now Kellenick's home run trot put him on the dugout side
- 9:19of first base, first base coach's box when the ball hit
- 9:22the wall. To which Ronald Acuna Junior
- 9:26replied and later deleted. If it were me, they would Take
- 9:32Me Out of the game. Which is valid because if you go
- 9:40back to 2019, if you go back to 2019, August of 2019, Ronald
- 9:50Cunha junior, similar situation, lack of hustle out-of-the-box,
- 9:56hosed later taken out of the game by snicker.
- 10:01Who said he didn't run. You've got to run.
- 10:04It's not going to be acceptable here.
- 10:07As a teammate, you're responsible for 24 other guys.
- 10:10The name on the front is a lot more important than the name on
- 10:13the back. All right, Herb Brooks, what is
- 10:15this miracle? Get out of here.
- 10:17Anyway? Completely valid response by
- 10:24Acuna. What's funny, though, is that,
- 10:28and I don't think enough people are are really addressing this
- 10:31because they're getting so swept up and like, well, like I've
- 10:34seen so many Braves fans. You need to fire snicker.
- 10:37The guy came out and said that he didn't even see like, he, I
- 10:40don't know if he was napping or what, or maybe he's just trying
- 10:43to cover his tracks. Hard, hard to say.
- 10:45Yeah, honestly, truthfully, I don't know.
- 10:47But he said, he said, I didn't even see.
- 10:49I didn't even see the play. I'm like my brother, what?
- 10:54What other? There's only one play going on
- 10:56in front of you, and this is literally your job to watch and
- 11:01manage what's going on in front of you.
- 11:04So again, I don't know if Snicker was trying to play dumb,
- 11:08if he was trying to cover his tracks, or if he legitimately
- 11:11was just caught napping. I mean, he's not a, he's not a
- 11:13spring chicken as we know. And that's just yet another
- 11:18reason that a lot of these Braves fans, I think, are
- 11:20calling for his head. I saw some guy on the social
- 11:23media as I need to stay off it for him.
- 11:26I saw some guy on there say, I've been calling for this guy's
- 11:28head since 2019. I'm like.
- 11:33He had a ring mixed in there. There was a ring in there and he
- 11:36was at the helm anyway. I didn't realize I, I mean, is
- 11:41this look full transparency our our fantasy chat, we have what,
- 11:464-5? Too many.
- 11:48Yeah, way too many four or five Braves fans in our fantasy
- 11:52league. And the chat was going off and,
- 11:55and it seemed to be a pretty common sentiment shared that
- 12:01they're like ready to move on. And I thought 2-3 years ago,
- 12:07Brian Snicker was like, everyone was like manager of the year
- 12:11every year. Like that's just what Braves
- 12:13fans were saying. That's.
- 12:15How this goes? I didn't realize the leash was
- 12:20so short. How quickly they forget.
- 12:23I guess I, I mean, look, Acuna is not wrong, obviously it's
- 12:28been, it's happened exactly this way.
- 12:30So it's like, are there different ways to manage
- 12:37different players? Of course, I think for an up and
- 12:41coming superstar, and if you're trying to have a precedent set
- 12:47on on, hey, you're the leader. Everyone's everyone's eyes are
- 12:51on you, that this is the player you are.
- 12:53This is the way we we want you to play.
- 12:57I get that the Braves low key, a lot of people hate on like the
- 13:02Yankee way and and hate on like the Yankee tradition.
- 13:06The Braves share very similar ideologies.
- 13:12They don't, you know what I mean?
- 13:13Like there there's no backwards hats allowed with the Braves.
- 13:16And this has been something over, you know, the Bobby Cox
- 13:21era and and into today. Like there's certain traditions
- 13:24and there's certain unwritten rules that are very much in
- 13:27place with the Braves, similar to what the Yankee culture has
- 13:31gotten, you know, criticized for in the past or currently.
- 13:33But he, Kellnick, should have been pulled.
- 13:40I just was, plain and simple. Like I I don't understand why
- 13:44the Kellnick leash has been this long.
- 13:47I don't understand why the Braves have put up with with
- 13:50this mediocrity for this long. It's not been good performance.
- 13:55It's not been good enough to allow this kind of stuff to
- 13:58happen in a in a season that started off so rough.
- 14:05Now you have a new narrative and now you have your manager who's
- 14:08not even nipping in the butt like.
- 14:11Well, I. Blown out of proportion way
- 14:14bigger than it needed to be, all because of a manager's lack of
- 14:18awareness. Awareness, decision making,
- 14:22staying awake? I don't know.
- 14:24The other well, the other thing too, you got to keep it in like
- 14:26to answer your question about the the leash.
- 14:30Let's not forget jerks and Profar isn't in the mix anymore.
- 14:34Sure. So like that was that was sort
- 14:37of the next step, I think at least the the the the one that
- 14:41didn't require you much, require much thinking.
- 14:43Like, yeah, I mean, we could dig into the system a little bit,
- 14:46but I guess, I guess Kelnick is the the guy that we just slot in
- 14:51for. Now, yeah, I get that.
- 14:53I mean, the way I saw I don't I could be an outsider here,
- 14:57obviously not watching every brave game there is, but like my
- 15:02interpretation of the Celnic move was a buy low scenario
- 15:05anyway, right? Hey, change of scenery wasn't
- 15:11doing his thing in Seattle. Top prospect at one point.
- 15:14Like let's see if we can get something out of him.
- 15:16Now. At this point, it's just like I
- 15:19I think we just we know who he is.
- 15:21I think we've seen what he has to offer.
- 15:24That's besides the point. What I mentioned earlier is that
- 15:26like guys get managed differently and there could be
- 15:30some type of behind closed doors conversation that the Braves are
- 15:36or coaches are having with the way they're going about coaching
- 15:41a Jared Kelnick and saying maybe he doesn't react well to it,
- 15:44maybe he doesn't, you know what I mean?
- 15:46Like it, maybe he sits with it. But when it starts to become a
- 15:50story like this and then you're not holding all your players to
- 15:55the same level of accountability, this is what
- 15:59you're going to get. And the worst case scenario has
- 16:02happened. Your superstar who you're
- 16:05banking on coming back and saving the day, in a way has has
- 16:12a point is a point. He's not wrong.
- 16:15OK, so then why delete the comment?
- 16:19He from the Braves, he from a, he from a, a teammate.
- 16:24I don't know. I don't know.
- 16:29I mean, it is weird. I'm not going to, I'm, I'm not
- 16:31saying I support the idea of putting that tweet out.
- 16:35I'm not. I don't like the idea of having
- 16:38my best player saying something on social media about my own
- 16:43team. Like I, I don't like that.
- 16:46But everyone saw it already, so like it.
- 16:51I clearly got out. I don't know what the time was
- 16:54between posting and deleting, but maybe that's like a new.
- 16:59Strategy by it is a new I was literally, I was just thinking
- 17:01that cause Jazz did the same thing the other day where he's
- 17:03like, it's not F and close on the on the strike or the ball
- 17:06call or whatever or what he perceived to be a ball.
- 17:10Could be internal fines. I don't.
- 17:12Maybe that's the thing, like, you know.
- 17:14But guys like that. Teams will find them.
- 17:16I don't. I I guess, but I guys like Acuna
- 17:20Jazz, I don't think they really care.
- 17:21Like they've got they have things that they want to say and
- 17:24they're going to say it, which like certain people may not
- 17:27matter. Some people it's fine, but like
- 17:29that's here, that seems to be just.
- 17:31There's potentially a different scenario there where Jazz is
- 17:34talking about an umpire and then there's league reprimand versus
- 17:39team reprimand with Acuna. That's the only, you know,
- 17:43that's the difference. I'm thinking in my head but.
- 17:45That I think you're right though, I think that's that
- 17:47seems to be the new thing now get the because you know people.
- 17:50Get it out long enough to get noticed and then delete it.
- 17:53Let it circulate and then you can sort of I, I don't maybe say
- 17:59face isn't the right way to say it, but for lack of better way
- 18:01of saying it, you sort of say face like, hey, well, I like I
- 18:04took it back, whatever, but I got my I got what I wanted to
- 18:07say out. There one could argue it gets
- 18:08more hype when it gets deleted. It seems that way.
- 18:13It seems like it sparks more of a conversation when it later
- 18:16when it gets. Later deleted the since deleted
- 18:18post that I keep seeing. Yeah.
- 18:20Yeah, because it's like the original post and then the the
- 18:24like that caption always does it.
- 18:25But it's it's not a good scenario.
- 18:29Like I was saying that it's a rough start to the season.
- 18:33You have these, you have a guy go down with suspension.
- 18:37You have you're waiting for Strider to come back.
- 18:40He gets put back on the shelf after one start.
- 18:43You're waiting for your MVP candidate to come back.
- 18:46But while he's working on coming back, he's ruffling feathers
- 18:51with with social media comments like this is worst case
- 18:54scenario. And I'm here to ask like are are
- 18:57the wheels falling off? That's a legitimate question.
- 19:03I know it's April, but it's it's not yet May and I just listed a
- 19:10laundry list of of reasons why it may be time to make a move at
- 19:16the helm. And a lot of teams are or a lot
- 19:21of people are having this team as as a a division winner.
- 19:26Well, they have won four straight, so I mean.
- 19:29Barely snuck it out tonight, by the way.
- 19:31Well, wins win. You and his SO Iglesias tried
- 19:34everything he could to cough it up.
- 19:36You and I both know that a wins a win at the end of the day.
- 19:40So I'm not going to, I'm not going to freak out there.
- 19:42They're like, you know, even despite all the things that are
- 19:45going on, if you're finding a way to win ball games.
- 19:48Winning, winning, winning. I was going to say winning has a
- 19:50way of curing these things, but last thing I'll say on the
- 19:53county thing because I don't want to.
- 19:54I don't, I don't want to portray this idea that like we're
- 20:00letting them off it. Like be better.
- 20:04Like I go ahead, call me an old man, call me like whatever.
- 20:08Like dude should be able to pimp ball.
- 20:09Like sure, but make sure that it's out You're Jared Kalnick.
- 20:13Like and again, Jared Kalnick, you're you're light years ahead
- 20:17of me in terms of baseball skill.
- 20:19But are you a Ronald Lacuna junior?
- 20:21Are you a Juan Soto? Are you an Aaron Judge?
- 20:24That's like have have some awareness.
- 20:27Super super relevant argument right there.
- 20:31Because like teams and coaches will put up with certain things
- 20:35if you can bring that kind of talent that often.
- 20:40Jared Kalanick does not bring it nearly often enough to have
- 20:45antics like this. I have 1000% agree.
- 20:50And don't tell me that he's the future because Verdugo was
- 20:53brought in because of no trust in this kid.
- 20:57Braves are in a weird spot, man. And I think Verdu has already
- 21:00had a four hit game. I saw he didn't have one of
- 21:02those with the Yankees last year.
- 21:04Yeah. But yeah.
- 21:06But yeah, but no. But yeah, the last thing I'll
- 21:09say, it's just like it the Oh my gosh, the the payoff for these,
- 21:18these pimped balls that barely scrape the wall, the the payout
- 21:25is so minimal, like sick. It looks, it looks awesome on a
- 21:29clip for a clip on social. But the downside if it happens
- 21:34like this, and this isn't the first time that it's happened in
- 21:37the league or the sport, is that you're going to get hoses.
- 21:43Second, you're going to look like an idiot.
- 21:45You're going to get called out by people.
- 21:47You're going to get you're going to start internal drama the way
- 21:50the way there's they're seeing it play out now.
- 21:54Just you know, even a light jog would would probably benefit
- 21:59more than just thinking you got all of it and it it hits the top
- 22:03of the wall. Just a thought.
- 22:05And again call, call me an old head, whatever it's.
- 22:08Just like, but that's true. Like these guys, these are just
- 22:11issues. That can be avoided.
- 22:13That's all I'm. Saying all the time, they hit so
- 22:18many baseballs every day. They know what it feels like
- 22:21when they get it. They know.
- 22:26So that's why this speaks even worse because it's like you
- 22:32didn't get all of it. And even if you want that post
- 22:36on social media, all the comments are going to be like,
- 22:38bro barely got out and you're pimping it like you walked it
- 22:42off in Game 7 at last story here and make fun of me for being a
- 22:49Yankee Homer or whatever. But like.
- 22:51Dude, you're a Yankee. There's come on, there's a story
- 22:54of, and Jeter tells it all the time where he is on second, goes
- 23:00to steal 3rd and he gets thrown out and it's the first out of
- 23:02the inning and he's running back to the dugout and all he does is
- 23:07just go sit next to Joe Torre because he was like, I know that
- 23:13I was going to get chewed out. So I just went and sat next to
- 23:15him and Joe didn't say anything. Couple minutes goes by and he
- 23:20looks at me and he goes, I know I get it.
- 23:25And that was it, Jeter says. I won't do it again.
- 23:29Like there's there. I understand letting players
- 23:32play. I understand letting the game
- 23:34being fun. I get that.
- 23:36I'm not trying to to remove fun from the game.
- 23:42But if there's not that level of authority in the dugout from
- 23:46your manager, if there's not an A, a small little sliver of
- 23:52respect and fear that has to be in place with authoritative
- 23:57figures. This is the kind of stuff that's
- 24:00going to happen. And you can be a player's coach,
- 24:03you can have all that, But a certain point, there has to be a
- 24:06line drawn. And you see a less and less and
- 24:10less and less of that. And shame on Brian.
- 24:13Snicker Snicker, because that's the whole argument of having an
- 24:17older coach. Then we see the drastic opposite
- 24:21of a Ron Washington saying no phones in the clubhouse.
- 24:26Make fun of them all you want, but he's at least drawing that
- 24:29line, which is strange. Which by the way, I don't know
- 24:33if you've seen anything on that. I, I saw something today.
- 24:35Apparently they're buying into it.
- 24:38Apparently they're buying into it.
- 24:41I don't. Know shame shame on on on our
- 24:43generations to just absolutely talk so much trash towards older
- 24:50generations that have had that have forgotten more about
- 24:54baseball than than we'll ever know like it's it's a shame it
- 24:58really is I'm done we can move on I have other rants to give by
- 25:05the way, because these next few topics are.
- 25:09Love that. Let's let's talk let's talk
- 25:13about that very thing. Max Freed loses a no hitter
- 25:17after they retroactively change a an error to a hit in At what
- 25:25point in the game did it happen? I mean, I know he made it 7 2/3
- 25:31but this was OK. Bottom 6 is when the when the
- 25:38when the error slash hit occurred and then it was changed
- 25:42in the 8th. In the 8th, which is when he was
- 25:47pulled anyway. So for those unfamiliar, Max
- 25:53Reed was dicing playing in in Tampa.
- 25:57Well, he had a no hitter going, yeah.
- 25:58And new speed phenom Chandler Simpson rolls over a ball to
- 26:09Goldschmidt. I I'm in the camp that it he
- 26:13would have beat it out just because of he has insane speed.
- 26:18He's got, he's got Max beat to the bag.
- 26:20Yeah, for sure. He had him.
- 26:22He had him now to be. Fair for anyone that watched the
- 26:24game, he hit the same ball a couple his last at bat and Max
- 26:30Reid beat him to the bag. Crazy athlete Max Reid, he beat
- 26:34him in the bag on that same exact scenario.
- 26:38Fast forward to this, Goldie clanks it off the wrist, gets
- 26:43called in error in the 6th inning, no hit, bid still
- 26:48intact. Max finishes the 6th, finishes
- 26:53the 7th before coming out for the 8th.
- 27:00No announcement, nothing said. You just see a little 1 tally in
- 27:07the hit column as he's coming back into out to the mound in
- 27:11between innings to warm up. Now he does give up another hit.
- 27:18The argument is who who knows? He was calling his own game.
- 27:22But like is does Austin Wells see that?
- 27:25Does he change his approach now that the hit has been given up?
- 27:29Does coaching see it? Is there a different, you know
- 27:32what I'm saying? Like there's all those different
- 27:34things being brought about. My issue, it's not the fact that
- 27:38it was switched to a hit. I just told you I'm in the camp.
- 27:41I think Chandler Simpson would have beat that out.
- 27:44Goldie was pretty far off the bag.
- 27:46Simpson can move. I think he beats it out.
- 27:49I think it's a hit. I I said when it happened that
- 27:51it should have been called a hit.
- 27:53Anyway appreciate that thank you.
- 28:01My issue is with this changing 2 innings later.
- 28:09My issue is that it your official scorer at home.
- 28:17For those unaware, the home scorer is the official score for
- 28:21games, so if it's at Tampa Bay Rays, it is the Tampa Bay Rays
- 28:29scorer that is the official scorer for the game.
- 28:32Which is wild when you consider where they're playing at this
- 28:34point in time. But which is?
- 28:35Wild. Just kind of weird.
- 28:37Just just weird. I don't.
- 28:42I don't understand this. I don't understand the time
- 28:46because there's only there's this.
- 28:48It's very obvious why it got changed.
- 28:51If you're allowing that much time to pass before you change,
- 28:55I can I can understand same inning, I can understand the
- 28:59next half. I can understand that you you
- 29:03don't have to watch games where it gets changed pretty quickly.
- 29:06I was going to, yeah, I was going to ask you because I saw
- 29:07Michael Kay had went into a little bit of a fit over this.
- 29:11And I'm like, yeah, I mean, if you want it if, which maybe he
- 29:15was, but like, if you want to get like nitpicky over the
- 29:18length of time, OK, sure. Like let's have a conversation
- 29:22about it. But to act like calls don't get
- 29:24retroactively changed. It happens all the time.
- 29:27Somewhat. I mean given the issue like
- 29:31somewhat frequently like I it. Happens that.
- 29:35I bet it happens more often than you hear broadcasters even
- 29:39mention it now. A lot of broadcasters keep
- 29:42score. They keep book when they're in
- 29:44the booth. So that's sometimes why you why
- 29:47you will hear that because they'll reference that and then
- 29:49they make jokes about white out and their score book is ruined.
- 29:52Whatever. My issue is just that the time
- 29:57that it was changed, the length of time that passed, the time
- 30:01that it was changed, they hadn't gotten a hit yet.
- 30:06You're affecting decisions at that point.
- 30:09You're affecting like when guys are going for no hitters, pitch
- 30:14count is almost always in play here, Bullpen arms, like all of
- 30:19there's a ripple effect to this that we can't just sit here and
- 30:22say, oh, it would have been a hit anyway.
- 30:26There's more to it. I'm not even arguing that.
- 30:30It's just the fact that they changed it 2 innings later,
- 30:33didn't announce it and it's it's kind of soft in my opinion, but
- 30:39that's the Tampa Bay Rays. I just did a little trivia.
- 30:44Oh, little little shots fired, shots fired.
- 30:48Well, sorry I I processed that a little late because I was
- 30:51looking up some trivia, but I'd take it in there, taking a
- 30:54chance to pull some shots at the Rays soft.
- 31:06Well, we could go into that, but I won't.
- 31:09The short you mentioned pitch count always being in play for
- 31:13these no hitters more often than not.
- 31:15I was curious, had this thought real fast.
- 31:18What was what was the fewest amount of pitches thrown in a no
- 31:20hitter 83? I was.
- 31:23Going to say 89 by Daryl Kyle. For the Astros in 1993 against.
- 31:28Daryl Kyle. The amazing Mets love that.
- 31:36It's weird stuff, man. It's a weird thing.
- 31:38And and weird baseball stuff happens all the time.
- 31:41And that's why we love it, because there's weird things
- 31:44like we, we genuinely see something new every year, every
- 31:49season we see something we're like, I can't remember ever
- 31:53noticing or seeing that or hearing that, witnessing that,
- 31:57whatever it is. And it's cool until your team,
- 32:01you know, gets bit by it. I'm just glad he did end up
- 32:04giving up another hit and it's not like fully in question, you
- 32:08know what I mean? Another incident with your
- 32:14beloved Yankees, Aaron Judge's home run call getting pulled
- 32:19back. Well, it was.
- 32:23It was never. Yeah, I was going to say it was
- 32:25actually never a home run to begin with, but you get what I'm
- 32:27saying. Called, called foul on the
- 32:29field. Speaking of it stayed foul.
- 32:33I don't. I, Speaking of trivia, did a
- 32:36little trivia research myself today because I was curious
- 32:40because I didn't know. And I was like, this might be
- 32:42helpful to know, you know that the average minor league foul
- 32:46pole, you know what the height is.
- 32:52I'll give you 30 feet. 30 feet exactly.
- 32:56That's the average. You know what the average height
- 32:59of an MLB foul pole is? I'll give you 45.
- 33:03I'm thinking you already knew the answer I.
- 33:05Really didn't. Is it 45?
- 33:07I'm thinking you know the answers to your question.
- 33:08No, I was thinking like reference of the monster
- 33:11honestly. Yeah, I don't know if well, let
- 33:14me let me let me backtrack a little bit.
- 33:16I I said average. I'm maybe that's not the right
- 33:19word to use, but in terms of what's preferred by those
- 33:24respective levels, I, I found that 30 feet is what you kind of
- 33:29need at the, at the minor league level.
- 33:31And 45 is sort of the, the standard for major parks.
- 33:36Whether it's the actual average, I I couldn't tell you, but 30
- 33:39and 45 is what we're looking at. And given that the game took
- 33:45place at a minor league park, that's what we're dealing with.
- 33:48But the the call itself, I, I I'm pretty indifferent.
- 33:56My take away from the whole thing though, is the amount of
- 34:00people that were posting screenshots of the broadcast and
- 34:06like circling the ball in relation to where it was or
- 34:11where it was in relation to the foul pole from a camera angle
- 34:16that's in like the third, like the third baseline, like street
- 34:23level. And people are like, it's
- 34:25clearly fair. I'm like, that's clearly not the
- 34:28angle you're supposed to be looking at it from, if
- 34:30anything's. Clear.
- 34:31It's that there was the first base side where like 'cause it
- 34:35landed in that, like in that tree and it, it was very fair.
- 34:43Like very fair. I don't know why they kept
- 34:45showing that third base angle though.
- 34:46That does nothing. That shows nothing.
- 34:48I I think they're probably used to being able to do that in like
- 34:55a state because you can see when like the ball goes like it kind
- 34:58of like disappears for that split second when it's going
- 35:01behind the pole. Like this was irrelevant because
- 35:04it was above the pole. Yeah, but the first base angle
- 35:08was like it, it was like it, it wasn't close.
- 35:12It was like 1520 feet fair. It was wild.
- 35:18It was wild that it didn't get overturned.
- 35:20It just doesn't make sense that we were joking in in fantasy
- 35:24because I I ended up losing by like 11 or something like that
- 35:27this week or this past week. But at that point it was before
- 35:31the night game and who I was playing Andrew in the chat and
- 35:34we'll just be open with it. Andrew had Chandler Simpson who
- 35:39had a error turned into a hit at this point, I was, he was only
- 35:42up by like 4 points and then I had judge home run taken away.
- 35:47I was like, well, that would have been the difference, but he
- 35:50ended up winning by a bigger margin anyway.
- 35:53But still, man, it's just, I, I don't understand.
- 35:56I don't understand how it's not the umpires on the field and
- 36:00that judge had a post game interview and he's like, it's
- 36:02not the it's not the umpires fault.
- 36:04It's it's just whoever is in New York, whoever's.
- 36:09Watching, it's not even New York.
- 36:12It's not even New York that I have an issue with at this point
- 36:14when these things happen, it's it's the willing, it's like the
- 36:21willful decision to not and go like we're we're always talking
- 36:25about like what's way, what are some ways we can incorporate
- 36:28technology to enhance game gameplay, enhance the the speed
- 36:33of the game, reduce questionable calls.
- 36:37You're telling me that you can't stick some sort of what I would
- 36:42venture say is probably a basic type of camera, some sort of
- 36:47like 3 like a GoPro or something on the top of these foul poles?
- 36:51Brother, I'm telling you, it's definitely possible.
- 36:55It's definitely possible. That's I know.
- 36:57Like I don't know a whole lot about camera technology.
- 37:01I mean, I know a little bit. If they can shove a camera in
- 37:04the pylons of the end zone so you can see players diving in
- 37:08and reaching the football over the goal line or over the pylon
- 37:11like you can, you can absolutely do it on top of a foul pole.
- 37:15I'm in the industry. I'm telling you can put a camera
- 37:17out there. It it can, it can work just
- 37:19fine. I don't get it.
- 37:22You can put a camera in the dirt for the Home Run Derby.
- 37:25I mean, I know it's like a little different, but like
- 37:27clearly they're they're not adverse to putting cameras in
- 37:29places that you maybe hadn't considered before.
- 37:34Stupid. I don't know, it's stupid.
- 37:36Put an angle, put an angle behind, put an angle behind the
- 37:40foul pole. Now this is a little bit
- 37:42different. There's, I don't know, you can't
- 37:44put it in a tree. But like, still, I don't
- 37:48understand why some of these are still in question.
- 37:50And on a separate note, we didn't have this topic either,
- 37:53but like, did you see the way the Dodgers Rangers game ended?
- 37:57Was it similar? I think.
- 37:58It was on Sunday. No, I think it was Wyatt
- 38:02Langford trying to swipe second slides in and he was like a pop.
- 38:07Up slide. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 38:09As he's standing up, he like apparently got tagged.
- 38:13Couldn't see it, just like yeah, and lost.
- 38:18I don't understand how there's this disconnect with review.
- 38:21I don't get it. I mean, tennis is a great
- 38:26example, Like the technology they have to determine whether
- 38:28balls in or not. You're telling me we can't
- 38:31incorporate something like that into a, into a ballpark?
- 38:35That's what they're using for the ABS system.
- 38:38Or something like that. I don't know.
- 38:40Whatever. I don't know, man.
- 38:42It's just you can't. Yeah, the angle, like we can
- 38:46figure out distance, but we can't figure out like angle left
- 38:51or right. We can figure angle up and down,
- 38:53but we can't figure angle left or right.
- 38:55I mean this. That should be able to tell you.
- 38:57This it's crazy dude. This stat cast data that that
- 39:01gets pumped out there like the the stat cast could tell you if
- 39:05a ball nicked the a feather of a bird in mid air.
- 39:10But you're telling me we can't figure out like what?
- 39:14And, And look, I understand there's complaining and then
- 39:17there's like throwing out ideas that seem pretty feasible and
- 39:21just seem rather reasonable. This isn't complaining.
- 39:25This is just a simple, this is like a, it begs the question
- 39:29kind of thing where it's like, how, how do we not have this
- 39:33technology like fair foul? Come on, we we, we can measure
- 39:38just about anything in baseball these days.
- 39:41Throw a camera at the base of the foul pole straight up it in
- 39:46fair territory, just barely just put that sucker straight up and
- 39:51all it's got to do is just look up and you could see a ball
- 39:55going I you have it for again football.
- 39:59The uprights. Yeah, that's in question all the
- 40:05time. Every week there's a
- 40:06questionable did it go over the go over the upright or not like?
- 40:12Replay needs an overhaul and I don't know what that looks like,
- 40:16but I'll I'll, I'm willing to run that committee if you will
- 40:19be on it with. Hey, I'm, I'm in, I'm in.
- 40:23Speaking of things getting overhauled and seeing some some
- 40:26people calling, wow, there's nothing new.
- 40:28They've been calling for it. Certain people, I'll say,
- 40:33calling for a safety bag at first base.
- 40:38And this is in relation to the Louisa rise collision that
- 40:43actually led him to being carted off the field and sent to the
- 40:47hospital, which he never you never liked to see.
- 40:51But fortunately I saw that the I think he was released.
- 40:55I think he's good. It's on the seven day IL for a
- 40:59concussion. Yeah.
- 41:00So, well, yeah, I mean, all things considered.
- 41:03That's pretty good. Yeah, he's, he's OK 'cause that
- 41:05when you see a guy go down and just doesn't move for however
- 41:09long, like you're going. What happened?
- 41:12Brother's out. You see that sports science
- 41:15stuff all the time where when you get when you get not.
- 41:18I mean, it's it's certainly more intense in football when those
- 41:22guys get their bells rung, but the brain does some pretty wild
- 41:27things like when you get rocks like that.
- 41:30And obviously no intent here, just a a Bang Bang play at first
- 41:33but goodness. It's too bad, it really is.
- 41:42It is weird that they give that little 3 foot wide and I don't
- 41:47even know if it's three feet the in foul territory lane for
- 41:52runners to run in, but then you put the base in fair territory.
- 41:55It is a strange thing where you're like, that doesn't why
- 42:01did we make it that way? I think the bigger base has been
- 42:06helpful. I think it's it's had its perks.
- 42:10But this is just that perfect angle where again, like no one's
- 42:14really doing anything wrong as a base runner.
- 42:17That's kind of how you're taught is to get into the throwing lane
- 42:20a little bit as, as legally as you can try to get into the
- 42:23throwing lane as as a second baseman, you got to square up.
- 42:33And sometimes that throw just kind of takes you up the line.
- 42:36And that's what happened. And it's, it sucks.
- 42:40I don't think there's any anyone at fault here.
- 42:42It's just, it's odd, man. It's a weird thing.
- 42:46I don't, I don't know. I'm I don't think I'm in for a
- 42:48safety base though. Yeah, I know.
- 42:50I just went on that little spiel about like things that are seem
- 42:54pretty obvious to improve the game, make the game better
- 42:57doesn't necessarily apply here. I don't I don't know if I if I'm
- 43:01in support of the safety bag. I think you know, like these
- 43:04things happen and it sucks for sure, but like just I mean.
- 43:11Yeah. But not to be that guy.
- 43:13Like oh it's always been this way, but like baseball literally
- 43:16is characterized by having 4 bags, not 5.
- 43:20It's true. That I guess that's my old, my
- 43:24old head take of the day. I don't know but.
- 43:26Just I like it. The I think.
- 43:28You have like, think about the way like a a first baseman could
- 43:31potentially navigate that extra bag.
- 43:34That'd be kind of weird. Yeah.
- 43:35You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 43:37Like, how do you. You can't have them separate.
- 43:40Then you got guys stepping in the middle and you're screwed
- 43:42there too. So these bases clearly have to
- 43:44be connected. And then you have like your foul
- 43:48territory, first base side and maybe like a drop third strike
- 43:51or something. And you see that first baseman
- 43:54kind of crossover in a foul territory.
- 43:57Like is he going to be able to use that extra bag?
- 44:00Like it would it would it would mess with things a little too
- 44:04much. I'm not about it.
- 44:08Hope Louis, your eyes is all right, though, because we've
- 44:10seen like Anthony Rizzo like once he when he collided with
- 44:15Tatis, he like you know what I mean?
- 44:17And you see guys like who I think of who's the outfielder
- 44:22just had like a bunch of concussions and it just never
- 44:27seemed to like really get back to being it's a few years ago.
- 44:32So like collisions and with the wall.
- 44:35And you know what I'm thinking about though, right?
- 44:40Now I'm curious. You got me wondering here.
- 44:46Just like couldn't come back and it was mainly A concussion
- 44:52thing. It was like, I think Grady
- 44:54Sizemore dealt with it a lot in his career, didn't he?
- 44:59Oh, I didn't. How far back are you going?
- 45:01Not that far, but like that kind.
- 45:03That name came to mind. I think there was some
- 45:06concussion stuff and then there was like Travis Darno, maybe he
- 45:11got. He's gotten at least 4.
- 45:14I think there was like some like Vertigo going on and like just
- 45:18weird stuff, man. It's.
- 45:21I oh, I know what you're who you're talking about.
- 45:27Ryan Malcastle had Vertigo. Yeah.
- 45:31Austin Meadows. Austin Meadows.
- 45:33That could have. Been who I was thinking of was
- 45:35Austin Meadows. Yeah.
- 45:38So you just you hope that Louis Rice doesn't deal with like long
- 45:42term issues with this stuff. Concussions are weird.
- 45:46I, I get it like if, if any of you guys are like fans of
- 45:49football too and you're like, oh, they, they get them all the
- 45:51time, they're fine. It's just it's not the same.
- 45:53The hand eye coordination needed for this sport clearly needs
- 46:00different brain waves. No offensive football players,
- 46:03but. Shots fired, Shots fired.
- 46:08Grain. Cells missing in that game
- 46:10typically. Got a few things here.
- 46:14Otani is officially a dad which is horrendous news for the rest
- 46:21of the league. You never.
- 46:24Dad, strength is is not is not something we were we were
- 46:30needing to add to the to the. Yeah, to the big player for
- 46:34Otani, Yeah, You never as an opponent, you never want to see
- 46:38the best player in the game really get like the Super Mario
- 46:43mushroom upgrade for free. Really.
- 46:48It's not like he had to really. I mean, yeah, he had to, like,
- 46:52do his part to to make this happen, you know, but.
- 46:56Like. I mean, just out of nowhere,
- 47:01like, Oh yeah, here, by the way, here's your dad's strength and
- 47:04go put up like a 6070 season. I don't know.
- 47:08I don't know. That they were pregnant, I
- 47:10didn't know. No, yeah, we did.
- 47:14Because I'm pretty sure we talked about when MLB got their
- 47:17hands on this news and it was all it all.
- 47:19It's all they posted about for like the day.
- 47:21And I'm like that. Was the wedding.
- 47:23No, no, well, that too. But when we caught wind like
- 47:27Otani had a bride O'Connor he. Just like randomly had a bride.
- 47:32Like he didn't even know he's dating anybody.
- 47:33That's true, yeah. Yeah, he's married.
- 47:35And then MLB ran with it. But when Otani when it when the
- 47:38news came out that his his wife was expecting and will be ran
- 47:43with it. And I'm like, this is kind of
- 47:44weird, like I'm I'm excited for them, no doubt.
- 47:47I'm excited for them both for sure.
- 47:49That's that's an awesome, awesome chapter of life.
- 47:53I'm sure they're about to embark on.
- 47:55But like why is it will be posting about their like, why is
- 47:58it will be posting their sonogram picture?
- 48:01I don't know, I don't know. I don't know if they did that,
- 48:03but I'm pretty sure they did. Don't quote me on that are.
- 48:07You in on this gender reveal thing that's been going around?
- 48:10Have you seen it? Dude, OK, so on the surface I'll
- 48:14say I think, I think gender reveals have gotten just way out
- 48:19of hand and a little over the top.
- 48:21But I got to say, and I this full transparency, I'd be a man
- 48:26lacking, lacking integrity if I didn't say this.
- 48:29But I saw Bryce Harper and his wife's post today, like their
- 48:34joint collaboration posts on Instagram today.
- 48:37And I you kind of see the you see the behind the scenes where
- 48:45assuming I'm interpreting this right, which I didn't, I maybe I
- 48:49just didn't, maybe this was made public and I just didn't catch
- 48:52the details. But I didn't know that this is
- 48:54how they went about giving him the bat.
- 48:59But apparently Trey is in the dugout with him holding both
- 49:03bats, like giving each one back and forth to him.
- 49:07And he finally gives him the blue one and he looks at him
- 49:09like that. There you go, buddy.
- 49:13And he's got Bryce got this like big, big grin on his face.
- 49:16And they showed, they showed. Hold on.
- 49:21Was it the I think it was maybe the first first clip of it.
- 49:25They showed the clip of her seeing him come out with a bat.
- 49:33Yeah, that's sick. And I'm like, and I commented, I
- 49:36was like, I love this so much. That's like that's, I mean the,
- 49:41you know, the freaking. I.
- 49:43Hannon's exploding a little too much, but something like that
- 49:46I'm I'm down with. I'm a fan.
- 49:48I always like those videos where like they try to get like the
- 49:52the sibling involved where it's like a balloon, then they have
- 49:56to pop it, but then they end up like cutting the string and then
- 49:58the balloon just floats away and they're like, no, I was like,
- 50:01those are my favorite. But yeah.
- 50:03Yeah. I thought I saw something else
- 50:05where I don't remember what player they were like doing it
- 50:08for like a fan. Like a fan had asked them to do
- 50:11the reveal and then whoever I I honestly could have been Bryson
- 50:15Stott. I feel like came out with like a
- 50:17wristband and it was pink. Wasn't that?
- 50:22I thought that was. That's kind of wild.
- 50:25I thought that was for him too. Was that for him?
- 50:29I've seen fan stuff somehow get. Oh, for a friend's baby.
- 50:33You're right. You're right.
- 50:34Good call. Yeah.
- 50:36Love that. I I can get behind this.
- 50:38I like, I like, I kind of, I kind of dig the on field.
- 50:42If you don't like it, If you're a hater, there's 0% chance that
- 50:49you wouldn't want one of your favorite players to do that for
- 50:52you and your wife. Great point.
- 50:54You know what I mean? Case closed.
- 50:55Like, would you say no to that? I would not say no to that.
- 50:59I would I would weep tears if if Bryce Harper.
- 51:03That's what I'm. Strolled out to the plate with
- 51:05that's. What I'm saying, I would weep if
- 51:07Judge came out with freaking pink Air Force One cleats and
- 51:13you're just like, we're having your girl.
- 51:15Like what a sick way to find out.
- 51:19I like it. I'm here for it.
- 51:21Pink beard die from judge? Sure because that's I guess
- 51:25technically allowed? No, sure, nothing stopping him.
- 51:29I don't think he can really grow on very well, but valid.
- 51:33Point the Reds. I don't know if you, I'm sure
- 51:37you saw it, the blow out against the OS over the weekend 24 to 2.
- 51:42Yeah, some of those dudes had like a a good week.
- 51:48Dude I was going to say it was so it was Noel V Marte and
- 51:53Austin wins combined for 11 hits and 13 RB is and the Reds 24 to
- 51:592 win. That's a good week.
- 52:01Marte went 5 for seven with 7 ribbies and a home run.
- 52:05One of these guys I think had a Grand Slam.
- 52:07Maybe it was Austin wins. I might be getting that wrong,
- 52:10but why? Pretty sure one of these guys
- 52:11had a Grand Slam. Austin wins 6 for seven, six
- 52:14RBI's in a home run. That's a that's a week.
- 52:21That's a week quick. Man, like that's rough.
- 52:24Let's I'm let's look that up. Who's the last team that gave up
- 52:3020 plus runs and won the World Series?
- 52:36It's a fair question because we're all asking out what the
- 52:39Braves are like. Oh it was the last team that
- 52:41started O and eight and made the playoffs.
- 52:43Nobody ask ChatGPT. ChatGPT they need to work work
- 52:59on some things. They struggle in the baseball
- 53:02category, don't they? Just a lot of things really
- 53:05they're it's very incomplete. OK, whether this is true, don't
- 53:11hold me to it. But what chat or what?
- 53:14What Google AI is telling me? I don't trust Google AI.
- 53:20Pump the brakes in the chat. They hit their home runs.
- 53:24Opposition players, including Martez, Grant, Sam, frankly, my
- 53:29question remains, well, I just saw that and I needed to address
- 53:34it. Like you trust me, you're not.
- 53:37You don't care. You rack up the RB is.
- 53:40Yeah, yeah. You don't care anyway.
- 53:45So, Ash. Is bitter about his his fantasy
- 53:47team performance this year so far.
- 53:49That's all shots fired. Shots fired.
- 53:52So Google AI in the on Google says.
- 53:57Sounds like googly guy when you say that.
- 54:00Google AI. Google Guy.
- 54:04Says the New York Mets were the last team to give up 20 or more
- 54:07runs in a regular season game and go on to win the World
- 54:10Series. This was in 1986.
- 54:12The Mets were defeated. 20 last World Series. 22 to 10 by the
- 54:18Atlanta Braves in a regular season game.
- 54:21Been a minute. And then it and then it proceeds
- 54:25to say generative AI is experimental.
- 54:27So it's possible that neither of those things happened in 1986,
- 54:32but well, the World Series obviously did.
- 54:34But the 20 more runs and it being against the Braves saying
- 54:37it's possible, that never happened.
- 54:39According to googly guy. According to googly guy, yeah.
- 54:44That would be a way better AI name by the way.
- 54:47Googly guy, Googly guy. Yeah, I can dig it.
- 54:51The last note I had here was we've touched on one of them,
- 54:55Chandler Simpson and Nick Kurtz getting the call out of Chandler
- 54:59Simpson, obviously a few games under his belt already, but Nick
- 55:01Kurtz for the A's getting the call up today.
- 55:05Yeah, for those who haven't watched Chandler Simpson run,
- 55:10it's it's. Stupid.
- 55:12It's different bro. Before I forget, like you're
- 55:15talking routine ground balls to the right side that are a
- 55:20problem, Potentially any ground ball to the shortstop He's beat
- 55:26now. It's crazy.
- 55:27He beat out a ball. I saw it.
- 55:29It was he was playing in Durham. I saw he he beat out a ball to
- 55:33a, a, a like a 2-3 hopper to the first baseman.
- 55:38Yeah, because it it got the first baseman back on his heels
- 55:42and he had to like, get the momentum going back and legs it
- 55:45out. What was that?
- 55:46He also scored. He scored from second on a SAC
- 55:49fly in college. Saw that, saw that.
- 55:51That's wild. But what I was going.
- 55:54To who was that center field was really fast.
- 55:57That really narrows it down. The one I was like couldn't hit
- 56:00but it was really fast. Oh oh dude, I know exactly
- 56:07Billy. Hamilton yeah.
- 56:09Is this a is this a Billy Hamilton?
- 56:112 point O? I've seen Chandler Samson hit.
- 56:14All I see is just the only highlights I see of him rolling
- 56:18over. He can, well he can.
- 56:20I mean clearly it's working, but he hit, he was hitting three O 1
- 56:25and AAA. So he like he can hit for
- 56:27average but brings really 0 pop to the table.
- 56:32But no what I was going to say before I forget.
- 56:34Speaking of running, did you see the video of Pete Alonzo?
- 56:38Please tell me you saw this. What was?
- 56:41That that looks like when the skates are going out from under
- 56:46you on the on the skating rink, that was like.
- 56:49I didn't think that was. Real like running like a cartoon
- 56:53character. I didn't think that was real.
- 56:56I said no, this. I've seen way too many deep
- 56:59fakes. I've seen way too much AI to
- 57:01know that that's not real. And sure enough, it was.
- 57:04That was awful. Pete, what are you?
- 57:09What are you doing, guy? What are you?
- 57:11Doing that that I mean, it makes sense.
- 57:14Like it, it just it's that's Pete.
- 57:16I don't think you see a lot of guys like you don't see a lot of
- 57:20views like that. That's true.
- 57:22That's true, you know that's true.
- 57:26But those were horrendous. My hips hurt just watching.
- 57:33Yeah. Had to been Pete, though.
- 57:35Like there's no one else that that that happens to.
- 57:38Pete's got some rough luck, I feel.
- 57:41Yeah. But he brings it on himself,
- 57:43yeah. Yeah, it's getting to the point
- 57:45though where I, I think I'm starting to feel bad a little
- 57:47bit for Pete, I mean. You think the whole world is
- 57:50bullying him at this moment? It's getting, it's getting bad.
- 57:53Like I don't, I don't condone, I don't condone that kind of
- 57:56bullying. But it's well documented how we
- 58:00feel about Peter Alonso. But it's getting to the point
- 58:02now. Where that's like like let's
- 58:05give, let's give it a speed coach.
- 58:07Maybe it's. Getting to be a little much.
- 58:11Yeah. Nick Kurtz for the A's.
- 58:13A lot of people buying stock and for good reason.
- 58:16Number four pick in last year's draft should be ready to go
- 58:22Wednesday. I feel like the Rays are like on
- 58:31the brink of all of these names just coming at you soon again.
- 58:35What do the rays have to do with this?
- 58:38What were you talking about? Chandler Simpson?
- 58:39And I'm kind of going back to it, but like, I just feel like
- 58:42the, the, the Camineros, like who's who are these like
- 58:48outfielders that they're just rolling out there that I'm like,
- 58:53all of them are hitting like 300 right now.
- 58:55And you're just like they're on the brink of of breaking through
- 58:59in like a a year or two. You're just gonna be like, here
- 59:02they are again. Here are the Rays with all these
- 59:04young studs. They just produce.
- 59:07Was I lagging like we're talking about the A's and then you just
- 59:11jumped in? I was thinking the speed thing
- 59:13again, I got stuck on. I was going to.
- 59:15OK, that makes sense. I was like, we just, you were
- 59:18you just hopped in. Like, by the way, the the rays
- 59:20are coming. They're going to be a force.
- 59:22I didn't even hear what prospect you were talking about after
- 59:24that. Make Kurtz make.
- 59:26Kurtz of the A's. Sure, sure.
- 59:31Cool. Getting the call up.
- 59:33Remains. Sure, but we're talking about
- 59:36the A's here. My my my Sacramento Vegas A's.
- 59:42Your wild card pick. Hence my Sacramento Vegas A's,
- 59:48who are only two games under right now, so watch out.
- 59:52Play good ball. Watch out for the watch out
- 59:56Astros. So what's?
- 1:00:01His name again. Dude Nick Kurtz with AZI.
- 1:00:09Feel like that's one of those names you got to say pretty
- 1:00:11slow, you know, just in case you don't want to say that name too
- 1:00:15fast, you know? I'm not entirely sure where
- 1:00:19you're going with that, but I'm going to leave it at that.
- 1:00:21Should probably leave it at that.
- 1:00:22Yeah, well, we'll just go ahead and leave it at that.
- 1:00:24I'm not going to. I'm not going to try it.
- 1:00:25Yeah, it's. Just not the.
- 1:00:28It's not a name you want to say quickly.
- 1:00:29Do it in the keep it slow. Keep it slow.
- 1:00:33I gotcha, I gotcha. I gotcha.
- 1:00:35I did it in my head. I I'm, I'm there.
- 1:00:38I I, I see what you're doing. Just be careful, everybody.
- 1:00:40OK, Well, we're looking out for you.
- 1:00:44That's that's what we're doing. We don't want to get you don't
- 1:00:46want to get you in trouble. That's all.
- 1:00:48That's all. That's all this is.
- 1:00:50What are we we coming back Wednesday or Thursday?
- 1:00:53What do you want to do? You know the drill.
- 1:00:56It's got to be Thursday. When we do Monday, when we have
- 1:00:58to record on Monday, it's his. Shout out Easter, you know.
- 1:01:03Shout out Jesus that ain't. That ain't on us, that's on
- 1:01:06Jesus, you know? For good reason, we had to push
- 1:01:09to Monday. Couldn't do.
- 1:01:10We were going to take the day off Sunday to enjoy Easter.
- 1:01:13Then Monday, which is today, which is when we're recording
- 1:01:16now. Right now, right now, at this
- 1:01:20moment, it pushes us to Thursday 'cause we either go Sunday,
- 1:01:24Wednesday or Monday, Thursday. But like I said, you know the
- 1:01:28drill. If we go Monday and something
- 1:01:31happens crazy Tuesday or even back or even Wednesday during
- 1:01:36the day or afternoon, some headline comes through like some
- 1:01:39some player blasts his manager and deletes a tweet, something
- 1:01:44like that. We'll have to talk about it.
- 1:01:48So it's possible we'll go Wednesday, but I guess for now
- 1:01:51we'll shoot for Thursday. Cool, sounds good and I think do
- 1:01:59I declare a a a stream Sunday? Yes, great point.
- 1:02:07No, you don't, because we're going to be out of town.
- 1:02:11We're going to be out of town. Where do you you guys are all
- 1:02:13where you going now? We're going to the beach.
- 1:02:15Good night man, shout out OBX. Did we talk about streaming this
- 1:02:19coming weekend? This.
- 1:02:20Is news to me. This is the last weekend of the
- 1:02:24month, ain't it? You're so right, Sunday.
- 1:02:29Well, I think you're avoiding. Trying to keep book yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:34So if you're if you're. Unfamiliar a new skill?
- 1:02:37That's not the case. You have to surf when you're in
- 1:02:39OBX now. That's the rule to make up for
- 1:02:42it. Certainly not doing that.
- 1:02:46It's Phillies at. Cubs.
- 1:02:48I don't know. Well, no.
- 1:02:52Hang tight. I don't know what time we'll be
- 1:02:54getting back. It's possible we can squeeze it
- 1:02:58in. I'll let.
- 1:02:58Nah, I'm not going to make you. I'm not going to make you
- 1:03:00stream. After a day of surfing, that's
- 1:03:02tough. And driving back, how long is
- 1:03:05that drive? And it's like 4 hours.
- 1:03:07It's wild. But anyway for a.
- 1:03:12Reminder on the car like every other weekend.
- 1:03:14Yeah, it's tough. Reminder our plan this this
- 1:03:18season, we're already a month into the season is to do a
- 1:03:24stream, I guess like once a month, I think was our original
- 1:03:28plan. So Nate's and it's going to it,
- 1:03:32it'll be for a Sunday night game.
- 1:03:33Whenever we do these, they'll be Sunday night games where Nate
- 1:03:37will teach me and anybody else interested in joining along or
- 1:03:40you don't even have to learn. You can just come hang out and
- 1:03:42watch some Sunday night baseball with us where Nate is going to
- 1:03:46teach me how to keep book. And again, if you're listening
- 1:03:51or you're watching with us during those streams, you can
- 1:03:53you can learn as well or you can chime in and maybe maybe pick up
- 1:03:58the slack that that Nate, that's true.
- 1:04:01I may miss something. I missed something so we'll see
- 1:04:04you. Should probably order a book
- 1:04:05though. That's a great point.
- 1:04:07Yeah, I'll do that tomorrow. I'll tell you, I'll tell you
- 1:04:10what book to get. Don't wait, wait to order 'cause
- 1:04:12there's, there's some like cheap books where you don't have like
- 1:04:16a ton going on. And then there's the nicer books
- 1:04:19that have like more space and you can you can fill in stuff a
- 1:04:22little bit easier. So hit me up before you pull
- 1:04:25trigger, all right? I'll do that.
- 1:04:27OK. In the chat, Will you guys be
- 1:04:29All Star game in Atlanta? We absolutely will be.
- 1:04:31Yes, we will. Psyched.
- 1:04:33I'm getting more excited about that by the day.
- 1:04:35Yes, we will 'cause we're mapping out restaurants.
- 1:04:39It's almost May dude. Things in July I.
- 1:04:43Know Papa turns 32 in a few weeks.
- 1:04:49Happy early birthday. I don't love that.
- 1:04:53I think it hits as I'm looking at the bags under my eyes.
- 1:04:58It's it's hitting harder than it used to.
