- 0:09Speaker 1: Hi, are you good?
- 0:10Speaker 2: How are you?
- 0:11Speaker 3: If you?
- 0:14Speaker 4: Police are speaking with Manuel Gian Living inside his trailer
- 0:19are his son Manny and his girlfriend Brianna. They've been
- 0:22hiding a horrifying secret from their families that this detective
- 0:26is about to uncover.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Hey, Mannie, Hey Brianna.
- 0:30Speaker 5: You guys know I am here trying to talk to
- 0:32you guys.
- 0:36Speaker 4: A year ago, the couple killed their daughter, buried her
- 0:40body in the woods near their trailer, and continued living
- 0:43as if nothing happened. Over time, Brihanna's family began to
- 0:47grow suspicious, tipping off police that something is seriously wrong.
- 0:52By the time investigators catch on to the lies, both
- 0:55killers would walk free, leaving their families and detectives to
- 1:00confront one of the darkest and most tragic discoveries of
- 1:03their lives.
- 1:05Speaker 2: State killed her.
- 1:06Speaker 6: I only did, and I know you've been nine to us.
- 1:09Speaker 7: Tell us from that right there?
- 1:11Speaker 8: Yeah, thank you.
- 1:21Speaker 7: Oh that's the Feld.
- 1:23Speaker 4: This is the home of Aurelia and Manuel Senior, the
- 1:27parents of many Gillenne. Police believe Manny is connected to
- 1:31a missing child investigation. Two days ago, Eddie County deputies
- 1:35received a troubling call from relatives of Manny's girlfriend, twenty
- 1:39four year old Brianna Stallings reporting something concerning about her daughter.
- 1:43Speaker 9: We were concerned about my cousin. Her name is Brandon
- 1:47Pali and we've never seen her.
- 1:50Speaker 3: With her baby anymore.
- 1:51Speaker 9: If you've blocked us all on social media and everything
- 1:54with a guy named Manny many Gian.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Brianna's cousin would go on to explain that the family
- 2:00hasn't seen Breonna's daughter in nearly a year, and that
- 2:03one of the last places the child was seen alive
- 2:06is right here at the residence of Manny's parents. These
- 2:10officers are here simply to conduct a welfare check. Unknowingly,
- 2:14they are moments away from stepping into one of the
- 2:17most disturbing murder investigations of their careers.
- 2:24Speaker 10: Cassie, all right, how are you sir? Nice to meet you, Manuel,
- 2:39Is anyone else here?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Can we go talk over here?
- 2:45Speaker 2: Okay?
- 2:46Speaker 11: Them quick?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Do you know it?
- 2:51Speaker 12: Well?
- 2:52Speaker 13: What are you here already? Yes? Anyway, when I know
- 2:57she will be my child because one day they appeared
- 3:00over there. He had a problem.
- 3:02Speaker 1: She didn't here.
- 3:04Speaker 13: They they get up here, but she's prayer.
- 3:08Speaker 14: She did you know if the baby had been born?
- 3:10Did you ever see the baby.
- 3:13Speaker 13: And they've open now. They were together, they were too
- 3:17and uh.
- 3:20Speaker 4: According to Manny's father, Brianna appeared estranged from her own family.
- 3:25She didn't seem to have anyone looking out for her,
- 3:27and slowly began leaning on Manny and his parents as
- 3:31she went through her pregnancy. On the surface, Manny's father
- 3:35seems unaware that anything might be wrong with Brianna's daughter,
- 3:39but officers are about to learn he may know far
- 3:42more about the missing child than he realizes.
- 3:45Speaker 1: So when when she had the baby, where were they living?
- 3:48Speaker 5: Oh?
- 3:48Speaker 13: There, they had a baby. They mean maybe no, maybe
- 3:51maybe a week two weeks over there and they won't
- 3:54talk around.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So right after they had to maybe they lived with
- 3:57you for a little bit.
- 4:02Speaker 13: And then they were going up. What they were saying,
- 4:07I respect her, I knew were very bad. He urt you, Yeah,
- 4:11I limahar.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Through the language barrier, officers are able to piece together
- 4:19more of the story. Manny's father goes on to explain
- 4:22that his son served in the Marines and that he
- 4:24believed many cared deeply for Brianna's daughter and took good
- 4:28care of her. He also says that he tried to
- 4:30help the couple, allowing them to stay with him, offering
- 4:33support and showing sympathy for Brianna's situation after she became
- 4:37estranged from her own family. However, he also admits the
- 4:41couple were unstable. They would stay for a while then
- 4:46disappear again. At the time, Manny's father believed he was
- 4:49doing the right thing, helping a struggling couple get back
- 4:52on their feet, but he has no idea that this
- 4:55will become the biggest regret of his life. Before leaving
- 5:01the place, officers also speak briefly with Manny's mother, who'd
- 5:05have some concerning statements about the couple.
- 5:08Speaker 10: So Manuel and Brianna never lived there when you were
- 5:12there with the baby.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Manny's mother would speak to officers in Spanish. She tells
- 5:28them that every time she asked Brianna and Manny about
- 5:30their daughter, the couple told her the child was with
- 5:33a family member, but she leaves out several concerning details
- 5:37about what was really going on in Manny's life, details
- 5:40officers will soon uncover on their own. For now, police
- 5:45leave the residents with more questions than answers. They still
- 5:48don't know where Brianna and Manny are, and they still
- 5:51have no idea where their daughter might be, But just
- 5:53as they prepare to leave, Manny's brother pulls up to
- 5:56the house. Detectives quickly approached to speak with him. Where
- 5:59they'll get there her first real lead on where Brianna's
- 6:02daughter might be.
- 6:03Speaker 15: Your mom is a cool lady. I completely forgot about Susan.
- 6:07Speaker 5: I'm a detective Johnson.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Man that's to meet you.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Hey, so we're just we just talked to your mom.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Somebody's in trouble.
- 6:12Speaker 16: Yeah, but see, I have no idea why the family
- 6:15contact you guys.
- 6:16Speaker 15: I to o her to call me if she had
- 6:18any questions that I would give her any information that
- 6:20I had, And I did.
- 6:21Speaker 2: That, called him her family member, her aunt.
- 6:25Speaker 15: Okay, I got the messages right here.
- 6:26Speaker 5: And have you talked to Brianna or Emanuel and all or.
- 6:30Speaker 15: I talked to Brianna maybe a couple of weeks ago.
- 6:36Speaker 5: Okay, have you seen her? Did she have her baby
- 6:39with her?
- 6:40Speaker 15: I have not seen the baby since it's been a
- 6:42couple of months, or like three maybe work I was
- 6:45one or two. I was like, I haven't seen her
- 6:48in a while. The show Okay told me that one
- 6:51of her answers taking care.
- 6:52Speaker 4: Of her and got Though Many's brother reassures officers that
- 6:56the couple's child is with one of Brionna's aunts, he
- 6:59admits he hasn't I've seen her daughter in months and
- 7:01doesn't sound fully convinced by Brianna's story. Following this, detectives
- 7:06begin contacting Brianna's family one by one. Every one of
- 7:10her aunts tell the same thing. They do not have
- 7:13her daughter. One of Brianna's aunts, Ruby, insists detectives come
- 7:17speak with her in person because she's seen and heard
- 7:20troubling details about Brianna and Manny's relationship they need to
- 7:24look into. When detectives arrive to speak with Ruby, they'll
- 7:27quickly realize there's more to the story than a missing child.
- 7:33Speaker 5: Hello are you Ruby, Yes, sir, I Detective Johnson.
- 7:37Speaker 2: We spoke on the phone.
- 7:38Speaker 10: Yes, Yes, come on in.
- 7:42Speaker 2: If I come in, Yes, thank you.
- 7:44Speaker 17: I know something's going on because when Brianna was pregnant,
- 7:48she was here with me and she left. She I
- 7:51raised brandcent aged six, and I spoke to her brother earlier.
- 7:55I caught him on my lunch break, Brian and as
- 8:00to pay.
- 8:00Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 8:02Speaker 18: I said, have you met your niece.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Have you seen her?
- 8:05Speaker 19: He says, Nokia haven't because when she have her baby
- 8:08that day, she called me. Yeah, yeah, I went right
- 8:13away and he kind of got mad. And why she's
- 8:16with Red Yeah, because I was taking yes, and he
- 8:22kind of got mad and he whispered in her ear
- 8:24and he walked out of the book and unlikely, And
- 8:27I said, he's mad.
- 8:28Speaker 6: Half I tell Brianna, become mad.
- 8:30Speaker 18: Yeah, I don't pay take you to you.
- 8:33Speaker 4: What the detective is hearing now isn't just concerning, it's
- 8:37deeply unsettling. It's the first time the relationship between Brianna
- 8:41and Nannie begins to sound volatile and potentially dangerous. Ruby
- 8:46doesn't know it yet, but her intuition is spot on,
- 8:50and in just a matter of days she will be
- 8:52told the most horrific truth imaginable about her grand niece.
- 8:57For now, the detective leaves Ruby's home and heads back
- 9:00to the station, knowing they need to move quickly and
- 9:02locate Brianna and Manny. What Ruby shared was troubling, but
- 9:07it's only the beginning, and far worse revelations are still
- 9:11to come. Two days past, with no sign of the
- 9:15couple or their child, then a call comes in from
- 9:19a woman named Desiree, who identifies herself as Brianna's former roommate.
- 9:24She's heard about the missing child and has important information
- 9:28about Brianna's boyfriend, Manny, details his own family never shared
- 9:32with police.
- 9:33Speaker 9: The only reason that everything kind of worries me is
- 9:36just she fell off and like she just don't talk
- 9:38to nobody, and this kind of like happened, you know.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Do you know why kind of disassociated herself from other people.
- 9:45Speaker 9: Her and many were fighting so bad. He said he
- 9:48didn't walk the baby. He has a son, and I'm
- 9:51pretty sure that he had got that baby took it
- 9:53away because he should out of the baby, and so
- 9:55he doesn't have that sknmore. The mom has a kids. Brianna,
- 9:58she lived with my mom for two years. She live
- 10:00with me for a year and a half. I've always
- 10:02been like trying to help her out and stepple when
- 10:04she's pregnant. You know, he had said that he didn't
- 10:06want to be with her, He didn't want the baby.
- 10:08He doesn't want a kid. I play got word of
- 10:09his other kid. So it kind of worries me on
- 10:12that part, you know.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Needless to say, Desiree's call paints a disturbing picture of
- 10:17the couple. If Manny already lost custody of his own
- 10:21child due to abuse, then there's every possibility that Brianna's
- 10:25big daughter may have suffered the same fate. Together, the
- 10:29pair comes across as volatile, irresponsible, and deeply unfit, a
- 10:34dynamic that only adds more urgency for the detectives to
- 10:37locate them and find the missing child. The next day,
- 10:41as detectives begin mapping out their next steps, they finally
- 10:45receive a tip on the couple's whereabouts. Brianna and many
- 10:48are staying at a trailer belonging to Manny's father. Officers
- 10:52immediately drive to the address, hoping to finally speak with
- 10:55the couple directly and get their side of the story.
- 11:02Police department several minutes past with no answer, Then the
- 11:08officer knocks again. When Brehanna and Manny finally step out
- 11:11of the trailer, it's clear they already know why the
- 11:14police are here, and they have a story prepared.
- 11:17Speaker 5: Hey, so, I'm Detective Johnson. By the way, Sorry, do
- 11:20you guys know I am here trying to talk to
- 11:22you guys?
- 11:23Speaker 18: It's because I heard I guess my family.
- 11:29Speaker 20: Been talking to this man, you know paper.
- 11:38Speaker 5: That's that's why I'm involved as a detective, you know
- 11:41what I mean, just because stuff like that I should
- 11:42pass on to us.
- 11:44Speaker 2: So where's your baby at right now?
- 11:46Speaker 18: She's with your friend?
- 11:48Speaker 5: Where is that?
- 11:49Speaker 3: What is?
- 11:50Speaker 21: And what is?
- 11:52Speaker 18: Yeah?
- 11:54Speaker 2: Who is your friend?
- 11:55Speaker 21: And what is?
- 11:57Speaker 5: If you don't mind, I'm just gonna talk to you
- 11:59guys individually quick and then I'm gonna talk to both
- 12:01of you quickly.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Can you just hang out with him for a minute
- 12:04and can I.
- 12:04Speaker 10: Talk to you over here?
- 12:06Speaker 5: So obviously I don't I don't know your your personal life.
- 12:10Speaker 9: I don't know anybody to talk about.
- 12:12Speaker 5: I'm just trying to get it all figured out.
- 12:13Speaker 18: And that's upset. Yeah, I don't talk to them. I
- 12:18don't know what they're annoying, and they're all in my lives.
- 12:22Speaker 1: And that's one reason why I was because I used
- 12:25to live with my aunt.
- 12:27Speaker 6: She would put them for kill like like what like?
- 12:30Speaker 18: She would always yell at me and seeing her speak
- 12:32gating and I don't know what I'm doing business and
- 12:35so lost, I.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Don't like for knowing anything with what I meant, she
- 12:40was experience and I looked for her twenty over the years,
- 12:43seeing like all my business and when that's only the reason.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Why I've black them is your friend? I mean, did
- 12:50you take your baby down there? Yeah?
- 12:52Speaker 18: You can see her because I'm glad you didn't want
- 12:54to speak for her.
- 12:55Speaker 5: So how'd you guys in the should win it happen
- 12:58that happens.
- 13:03Speaker 4: Brianna's explanation sounds reasonable. Her family constantly interferes in her
- 13:08life and she doesn't want to deal with them. She
- 13:10even speaks negatively about her aunt Ruby, claiming she was
- 13:13never supportive of her. Nothing about Brianna's story immediately raises alarms,
- 13:18so to verify the details, the officer moves on to
- 13:21speak with many separately to cross check what Brianna has
- 13:25already said. This is when a small discrepancy surfaces, one
- 13:29that will mark the beginning of the couple's story falling apart.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Hey man, so can you kind of just give me
- 13:37a rundown? And everything going on all right?
- 13:39Speaker 12: So as far as I know, like her family's been
- 13:41trying to get it right of her, because I guess
- 13:43they haven't been in touch one about how she's doing
- 13:46and the baby's doing.
- 13:48Speaker 11: And she spoke to a couple of family members.
- 13:50Speaker 12: I think it was from aunt or brother or some show,
- 13:53I said, because they messed her and she told him
- 13:55to like yeah, I'm like we're doing okay, Like you
- 13:58guys don't got to worry about that vide And then
- 14:00they're like okay, well just wanted to make sure it
- 14:02was okay. And then after that then they started by
- 14:06My mom told me she's like, well, hey, there's detectives
- 14:09here in my house, like trying to figure out because
- 14:11you guys are missing or someh you guys haven't like
- 14:13talked to the family or like be like what the fuck,
- 14:15Like she's talked to her aunts or someone. She's like
- 14:18a couple of family members and let him know like
- 14:20everything was okay, and like they're still doing this ship.
- 14:23Speaker 15: So yeah, so.
- 14:25Speaker 2: The babies and waters, when did that happen?
- 14:28Speaker 22: Roughly the day he or the month the beginning of
- 14:34the year, like, angwhere in February do they give you
- 14:41an address? Or like, how are you guys suposed to
- 14:43get in contact.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Or what's the plan? Is she going to go back
- 14:45for a baby at some point?
- 14:46Speaker 12: So as far as that years, like once we got
- 14:48good and ship, we were gonna be I guess she
- 14:50was gonna be hitting us out back then, That's right,
- 14:53That's all, but all I know.
- 14:54Speaker 4: So not only does Many give a completely different time
- 14:58frame for when Brianna's daughter was given away, but he
- 15:00also can't provide any basic details for the supposed friend
- 15:04the child was given to. When the officer circles back
- 15:07to Brianna with the same question, she can't answer it either,
- 15:11and offers no way to verify that this friend even exists.
- 15:16At this point, the officer's suspicion grows, and with the
- 15:20inconsistencies piling up, he makes the call to detain the
- 15:23couple and bring them to the station for further questioning.
- 15:27Once at the station, Brianna and Many are placed into
- 15:30separate interview rooms. They still don't know, their stories don't match,
- 15:34and investigators intend to keep it that way. This is
- 15:37the police's only chance to finally figure out what really
- 15:41happened to Brianna's daughter and who's responsible. As for the couple,
- 15:45one wrong answer could expose the horrifying secret they've been
- 15:49hiding for months.
- 15:51Speaker 2: And so, how did you get in contact with Marianne?
- 15:56Speaker 10: What's happening?
- 15:57Speaker 1: When did this happens.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Think what you about two months ago?
- 16:02Speaker 3: Now?
- 16:03Speaker 5: Okay, do you remember the day?
- 16:05Speaker 11: I don't remember.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Do you have the messages on what's up?
- 16:07Speaker 10: From Maria?
- 16:09Speaker 11: Bene?
- 16:11Speaker 10: Why?
- 16:12Speaker 18: I can't remember remember either. It was like all kinds
- 16:14of you know, what's happened to your one one something?
- 16:17Speaker 10: Yeah, I don't.
- 16:18Speaker 11: I need to get in contact the check one.
- 16:20Speaker 20: She told me she was gonna get up Facebook, and
- 16:23it's like, Nate want and talk to me through I
- 16:26initially don't.
- 16:27Speaker 18: That's what she told me.
- 16:28Speaker 11: You haven't talked to Maria.
- 16:31Speaker 10: You haven't talked to me some stuff.
- 16:32Speaker 2: So how do we just make sure colonies?
- 16:35Speaker 11: Okay?
- 16:35Speaker 10: Man?
- 16:36Speaker 15: Because Brienna doesn't seem to know how how we can
- 16:39just encure that colonia?
- 16:40Speaker 11: Say, if you think about it, that's kind of disturbing
- 16:43a little bit.
- 16:44Speaker 1: But a mother maybe not a little.
- 16:46Speaker 11: Bit more concerned about, you know, just helping us in.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Cure that the child to say, as far as I.
- 16:50Speaker 12: Know, I know sometimes she has posits with her phone
- 16:53and she like kind of has a right time you
- 16:55get paid, So maybe it's.
- 16:56Speaker 11: Like she a part, hasn't your phone bill? Is that
- 16:58anything I can say?
- 16:59Speaker 12: It's probably just wait for she gets your boss.
- 17:04Speaker 4: As expected, Brianna and Manny stick to their conflicting story,
- 17:08but more importantly is that neither of them show any
- 17:12concern for their daughter's well being, despite not seeing or
- 17:16hearing anything from the supposed friend for weeks. What the
- 17:19couple doesn't know yet is that detectives have already followed
- 17:23up on the supposed friend Brianna mentioned and discovered that
- 17:27no such person exists. By now, it's painfully obvious to
- 17:32investigators that both Brianna and Manny are lying, so detectives
- 17:36decide it's time to lay out what they believe really
- 17:39happened to Brianna's big daughter and confront her directly.
- 17:43Speaker 11: Man we need you this be truthful with us. A
- 17:45lot of the stuff you said, is this not making
- 17:47any sense?
- 17:48Speaker 4: I mean it's kind of hard to wrap our minds
- 17:50around the kind of the lack of concern you're showing.
- 17:54Speaker 11: I mean, we just need the truth. We need to
- 17:57make sure Claudie's okay. I mean, we get it. Step happens.
- 18:00You know, people go through hard time. We understand that
- 18:03something happened.
- 18:04Speaker 6: Something let you go, whether or not codis ok or not.
- 18:08Speaker 18: Something happened after this happened.
- 18:11Speaker 11: You guys discussed this, I become.
- 18:13Speaker 4: Up story talking about a person that we know nothing about,
- 18:19with no croup.
- 18:20Speaker 11: That read did.
- 18:23Speaker 10: Happen?
- 18:24Speaker 15: Your stakes?
- 18:24Speaker 3: Happened?
- 18:25Speaker 15: Really?
- 18:27Speaker 18: What she knew?
- 18:27Speaker 10: Right now?
- 18:29Speaker 18: What matters?
- 18:32Speaker 2: M mhm.
- 18:35Speaker 8: Right.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Brianna finally breaks and confesses to killing her daughter. After
- 18:41this admission, she becomes visibly emotional, and for several minutes
- 18:45the detectives are unable to get clear answers from her.
- 18:49As they slowly pieced together her statements, a story begins
- 18:53to form. Brianna claims she fell asleep on her daughter
- 18:57while they were in the car, accidentally suffocating her. Panicked,
- 19:01she and Manny buried her daughter's body in a remote
- 19:04wooded area, where it has remained for nearly a year.
- 19:07After the confession, detectives decide to give Brianna a few
- 19:11minutes alone to collect herself and to reconsider the story
- 19:15she's choosing to tell, because even now she's taking full
- 19:20responsibility and insisting Manny had no part in what happened.
- 19:25When detectives returned to the room, they know what they
- 19:28need to do next. Convinced Brianna to be honest about
- 19:31Manny's role and where her daughter's body is buried.
- 19:37Speaker 7: Brianna, how are you?
- 19:39Speaker 23: I'm Sergey run it.
- 19:42Speaker 24: Doing?
- 19:42Speaker 2: Okay?
- 19:43Speaker 7: Miriams.
- 19:45Speaker 11: We're getting anything you water or anything?
- 19:48Speaker 5: Do you say it?
- 19:51Speaker 18: So?
- 19:52Speaker 7: We kind of didn't understanding of what's going on. Okay,
- 19:56you're not in any kind of trouble right now.
- 19:59Speaker 16: We want to do well we can to help you, okay,
- 20:02with I guess you being willing to help us as well?
- 20:07Speaker 7: Okay, would you be willing to drive up to Queen's
- 20:10right now? All kind of shows where we need to go.
- 20:15You're going to go with us?
- 20:17Speaker 25: Yeah?
- 20:17Speaker 7: And you're okay going with us? Yeah? How'd you get here? Manual?
- 20:24Jan Would you be comfortable with Manual Belon?
- 20:28Speaker 4: After agreeing to help detectives, Brianna seems to regain her composure,
- 20:33speaking calmly and answering questions as if the weight of
- 20:37her confession has already lifted. In the next room, Manny
- 20:41has no idea his girlfriend just confessed and took all
- 20:45the blame, but he's about to find out as detectives
- 20:49prepared to drive both of them to the one place
- 20:51they never wanted anyone to find you?
- 20:55Speaker 10: Ready, okay?
- 21:17Speaker 23: Sorry?
- 21:22Speaker 4: As they prepare to leave, Brianna and many are reunited,
- 21:26and it's clear Manny immediately realizes she's told officers the truth.
- 21:31The couple and officers then drive out and hiked deep
- 21:35into the woods to recover the body, a grim walk
- 21:38that will lead to what can only be described as
- 21:42a nightmare.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Go ahead, pig your sailor, but.
- 22:05Speaker 10: We're gonna get you, got it.
- 22:07Speaker 23: They're gonna hear where the rocks at?
- 22:09Speaker 7: Where the rockets. I'm sorry for you, Prett.
- 22:12Speaker 8: The rocket thinks.
- 22:16Speaker 7: Right there.
- 22:17Speaker 23: Yeah, she's there, that one just sticking out there like
- 22:20a big old timboom.
- 22:23Speaker 18: With all those things.
- 22:25Speaker 7: She's underneath the rock. Yeah, those rocks, they're welcome back.
- 22:32Speaker 25: Yeah, A market it.
- 22:36Speaker 7: Okay, So I don't want to keep you guys out
- 22:40of loop just because you guys.
- 22:41Speaker 11: Came down here showed us all this.
- 22:44Speaker 7: But we're gonna do stuff the way we do handle it.
- 22:47Speaker 1: And so what we're gonna do is we've got to
- 22:50get a search one, of course, but we're gonna bring
- 22:52out our other resources and we're gonna do this.
- 22:55Speaker 18: The right way.
- 22:55Speaker 11: Okay, we're gonna hold off, we're gonna secure this.
- 22:58Speaker 2: We're gonna do a couple of bits accept some lead
- 23:00a hold of.
- 23:01Speaker 11: You guys, Well, we got to give them, we got
- 23:02to take them back home.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's right.
- 23:05Speaker 7: Yeah, sorry, I forgot about that.
- 23:07Speaker 2: So it's not like we're just coming, marking and then leaving.
- 23:10Speaker 7: So I'm like, just want to know that that's not
- 23:11what we're doing. So it's going to be a long process. Okay,
- 23:16you're one hundred percent certain that's the spot though?
- 23:18Speaker 15: Yes, okay, am I, guys, I think we're goodn We've
- 23:24been marketing along the way.
- 23:26Speaker 4: By now, officers believe they've found the burial site, but
- 23:30because it's already dark, they halt the search until the
- 23:33following day. Before Breonna and Many are allowed to leave,
- 23:37detectives instruct them to return at noon. For now, the
- 23:40pair isn't being detained and are treated as two people
- 23:43who may simply be caught in a tragic situation, at
- 23:47least based on what they're admitting, a far cry from
- 23:50the real truth behind their lies, a horrific truth that
- 23:54police are just hours away from discovering. The next morning,
- 24:01Brianna meets detectives near the search site, but strangely, Manny
- 24:05doesn't join her. Instead, he waits inside a detective's car.
- 24:09Refusing to return to the burial location, Brianna then leads
- 24:13investigators back to the wooded area, with forensic experts following behind.
- 24:17She's about to give them the confirmation they've been searching for,
- 24:21even though the couple responsible will eventually still walk free.
- 24:32Speaker 7: Yeah, but that was over there.
- 24:33Speaker 1: That was over there. Okay, you'll like to ship.
- 24:46Speaker 10: Right now?
- 24:46Speaker 1: Okay, do you want to hang out and shade a.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Thank you? Yes, here's a.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Tragically, this discovery confirms detective's worst fears, but as investigators
- 25:17examine the remains, something stands out. Although the body has
- 25:22decayed significantly, it still shows signs of possible injuries. Suddenly,
- 25:28Brianna's claims of an accidental suffocation no longer seem as
- 25:32straightforward as she described, and detectives now need to get
- 25:36to the bottom of what really happened. So, while forensics
- 25:39continue their work, a detective speaks with Manny, hoping to
- 25:42determine whether Brianna is telling the truth or if she's
- 25:45just protecting him. What Manny says next makes one thing
- 25:48unmistakably clear. He has no intention of taking responsibility.
- 25:54Speaker 21: When you get it, that's the baby pass The way
- 25:58from you and Brianna uh buried the.
- 26:01Speaker 6: Yeah, why why would you try to hide that factor?
- 26:06Speaker 7: Can you remember?
- 26:08Speaker 23: And I remember the baby was being really fusty and
- 26:12Band was like, you know what, let's just go outside
- 26:16because like so we went outside and we tried like
- 26:19maybe going to the guitar and then turn it on
- 26:21and maybe the help of the car being turned on
- 26:24and about the ocation probably help with speak.
- 26:28Speaker 21: See I can I can understand that for as much
- 26:31as you want closure in this, you don't think that
- 26:34that I want closure. I have my own babies. But
- 26:36the only way that I can get that closure, man,
- 26:39is if you guys just help us, like just and
- 26:43by helping us, I mean, just just be honest with this.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Was the baby? Did you know it was the baby
- 26:50in the backpack?
- 26:50Speaker 11: Did you put the baby in in something? Just ands.
- 26:58Speaker 21: And where you refute showed us that's where you remembered
- 27:02the best of your knowledge.
- 27:03Speaker 4: As will, despite the detective's efforts to get any reaction
- 27:07out of him, Many remains completely emotionless, taking no responsibility,
- 27:12and insists it was nothing more than an accident caused
- 27:15by Brianna, with Brianna already taking all the blame. Detectives
- 27:19have no choice but to accept their statements for now,
- 27:22and the interview with Manny is wrapped up. Back at
- 27:24the burial site, forensics finish documenting the scene and the
- 27:28remains are sent for autopsy. At this point, officers could
- 27:32arrest the couple for tampering with evidence they already admitted
- 27:35to burying the body, but detectives make a different decision
- 27:39and let the couple walk free. On the surface, it
- 27:43seems like a strange choice, but in reality it's a
- 27:47calculated move that will become crucial later on. With that decision,
- 27:52the scene is cleared and the day is wrapped up.
- 27:55Back at the station, investigators regroup to discuss their plan
- 28:00or that letting the couple go at least temporarily is
- 28:03what's best for the investigation. There is no autopsy yet,
- 28:06no confirmed cause of death, and no clear way to
- 28:09prove who is responsible. If Brianna and Manny were arrested immediately,
- 28:13they would almost certainly lawyer up, and detectives would lose
- 28:16the only chance to confront them once the medical evidence
- 28:19comes back. By waiting, investigators gain a strategic advantage, the
- 28:23opportunity to secure a confession when the autopsy reveals the truth,
- 28:27but their plan comes with major risk. The couple is
- 28:31now completely free to disappear, and what detectives don't know
- 28:35yet is that Manny has family in Mexico. Over the
- 28:39following week, investigators wait for the autopsy results and begin
- 28:43searching for anything that could help strengthen their case. They're
- 28:46certain Brianna hasn't told the full truth, and with Manny's
- 28:50history of abuse involving his previous child and wife, there
- 28:53is every reason to suspect foul play in their daughter's death.
- 28:57So to gain more insight into the couple, detectives arranged
- 29:00to meet Breonna's aunt, Ruby at her workplace. At this point,
- 29:04Ruby has no idea that her grand niece is long gone,
- 29:09and once detectives break the tragic news to her, she
- 29:12will make it clear just how big of a mistake
- 29:14it was to let the couple walk free.
- 29:17Speaker 2: If it's okay?
- 29:19Speaker 6: Is it okay?
- 29:19Speaker 7: If I asked you some questions before we get started? Okay,
- 29:22So how did this all come?
- 29:23Speaker 26: Abou I was six years old, I've had her. She
- 29:27lived with me at age twenty three. She left in
- 29:30and out, you know, once they turned eighteen they know
- 29:32it all. She got pregnant from some guy out of Texas.
- 29:38She was excited to be all but when she met
- 29:41this guy she's with now, she messaged.
- 29:44Speaker 2: THEE, I have my baby.
- 29:47Speaker 6: I rushed to the hospital. Where was that here?
- 29:50Speaker 11: Here?
- 29:51Speaker 26: Yes, sir, I took baby pictures with the baby, and
- 29:54he got upset before he walked out that room.
- 29:57Speaker 1: He whispered something in her ear.
- 29:58Speaker 18: And I looked at him like, I said, is he
- 30:01is he mad? She says, yes, the uh he's mad.
- 30:05Speaker 26: I said, well, I don't care if he gets mad.
- 30:06I want to take pictures of the baby, Me and
- 30:08the baby. Her brothers was sending her money every Fridays
- 30:13to help her out with the baby.
- 30:15Speaker 18: He would ask her, where's my baby niece. I want
- 30:18to meet my baby niece.
- 30:20Speaker 1: There's no baby.
- 30:20Speaker 6: Her brother Brian.
- 30:22Speaker 18: I spoke to him last night. He goes, I haven't
- 30:24heard nothing.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Thead or her brother and never called her.
- 30:28Speaker 26: They argued and he told her, hey, I'm not going
- 30:31to be sending you any more money if you can't
- 30:32bring me my baby niece to meet her.
- 30:34Speaker 18: I don't even know her. Every time they'd go, he
- 30:37said she'd get the money and go and there's no baby,
- 30:40or if she.
- 30:40Speaker 26: Says she left it with an aunt, we're the only aunts,
- 30:43me one from Rows one the other two they being't
- 30:46even capable of.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Taking care of a kid.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Ruby would continue describing more concerning behavior from the couple,
- 30:52especially Manny's anger and hostility around Breonna's daughter, but as
- 30:57she talks, she begins to sense that the detective sitting
- 30:59across us from her may already know far more about
- 31:02her grandniece's condition than she does.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Is there a baby?
- 31:06Speaker 18: Did they take him in for questioning?
- 31:08Speaker 7: Are they the user?
- 31:11Speaker 1: They're a baby?
- 31:12Speaker 2: So the baby there was, but they all found her.
- 31:28I know, but we still have I know, and this
- 31:32is part of the Jui system that we have.
- 31:36Speaker 26: They should be locked up, they should be lost taking
- 31:41her to her doctor visits or anything.
- 31:45Speaker 7: So it's still under investigation. Movie, there's still a lot
- 31:48of questions we have. Okay, well what do they say
- 31:52again if we haven't really spoke to them.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Okay, they're going to be gone. If you go find them,
- 31:58they're gonna be gone.
- 32:00Speaker 26: He has his family in Mexico, He has family as
- 32:04lns for Mexico.
- 32:05Speaker 6: They have family and bodies.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Through her grief, she warns them about something they hadn't
- 32:11fully considered. The couple could already be on the run,
- 32:15especially with Manny's connections in Mexico. Additionally, her description of
- 32:19Brianna as a follower only reinforces what investigators heard before.
- 32:24It's starting to make sense to detectives why Brianna would
- 32:27take the blame, even if many played a bigger role
- 32:30in what happened. By now, though, Ruby is devastated knowing
- 32:35she will never see her grand niece again, her reaction
- 32:38is far more emotional than anything detectives have seen from Brianna.
- 32:42But sadly, the tragic news doesn't stop there, because Ruby
- 32:46is about to hear the most disturbing part about her
- 32:49grandniece's death.
- 32:52Speaker 2: They killed her. He killed her.
- 32:54Speaker 22: I know he did.
- 32:56Speaker 18: I could have had that baby, I could have raised her.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Who the dad is We don't know him.
- 33:02Speaker 7: Nobody knows.
- 33:03Speaker 18: Nobody knows who he is.
- 33:05Speaker 7: The baby has been sent up to Albert Kerque for
- 33:08an autopsy. How months.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Before she turned one?
- 33:14Speaker 7: Oh god, I don't know how old she was exactly,
- 33:17but I'm guessing a month.
- 33:19Speaker 18: To two months when she passed away.
- 33:25Speaker 11: Thank god.
- 33:26Speaker 19: So she.
- 33:31Speaker 25: Going off the information that I was told, Yet they
- 33:36stopped breathing because all they all he did was when
- 33:40I got to that card, smelt like bad, bad, like.
- 33:43Speaker 2: We I bet that you couldn't even breathe. Why are
- 33:48they still out of living?
- 33:50Speaker 18: Well, you know.
- 33:53Speaker 7: It takes about six months.
- 33:55Speaker 1: God, they'll be gone.
- 33:59Speaker 6: They'll be gone.
- 34:00Speaker 7: That's why we don't want them. We don't want to
- 34:02swoop them one and.
- 34:03Speaker 2: They'd already want the minute you already discovered that. It's
- 34:07what they are. They're gone.
- 34:09Speaker 18: I know they're cone.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Ruby is justifiably furious. She wants justice, even if it
- 34:18means putting her own niece behind bars. But without an autopsy,
- 34:22detectives still don't have definitive proof of how Rihanna's daughter
- 34:25died or who is responsible. Making an arrest now could
- 34:29jeopardize the case. With that uncertainty hanging over the investigation,
- 34:34detectives wrap up the interview with Ruby. At this point,
- 34:38they still believe waiting is a safer option, but that
- 34:41decision comes with a dangerous consequence. It gives the couple
- 34:45exactly what they need, time to run, disappear, and make
- 34:49sure they're never found. Over two months later, the autopsy
- 34:55results finally come in, and the findings are more disturbing
- 34:59than than anyone imagined. The report reveals multiple injuries in
- 35:05the child's system. Most importantly, the manner of death is
- 35:09ruled a homicide for the first time. Detectives have confirmation
- 35:14that foul play was involved. Now they need to figure
- 35:17out which one of them is responsible, and more importantly,
- 35:21where they are. Detectives are quickly sent out to search
- 35:25for the couple, but they're nowhere to be found. Days
- 35:28turn into weeks and every possible address comes up empty.
- 35:33It begins to look like Ruby's ride all along. The
- 35:35couple may have disappeared for good and gotten away with
- 35:38the murder of her grand niece. Eight full weeks pass
- 35:44and still no sign of Brianna or Manny. Then in February,
- 35:49detectives receive a tip that the couple has returned and
- 35:52is quietly staying at Manny's father's trailer at a nearby park.
- 35:56It's the first real lead since the autopsy. Officers are dispatched,
- 36:00but they're told to keep the encounter calm and convince
- 36:03the couple to come involuntarily. The goal is to extract
- 36:06a confession, not spook them into running again. Minutes later,
- 36:11they arrived at the trailer park, hoping this time the
- 36:13pair won't slip away.
- 36:23Speaker 3: There's a nice in.
- 36:24Speaker 1: There, Hie, are you good?
- 36:35Speaker 2: How are you good?
- 36:37Speaker 12: Good?
- 36:38Speaker 2: Here?
- 36:38Speaker 1: Your kiddo's home. Oh okay, Hi, nice to see you again.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Yeah, if you.
- 36:47Speaker 14: Don't mind, Sir, can you just call Brienna out just
- 36:51right now if you wouldn't mind. I'm as Brianna. Some
- 37:04things have come up and I wouldn't I would want
- 37:07to know if you'd like the chance or the opportunity
- 37:09to speak with us on it. Okay, would you mind
- 37:14going to our station, just sit down and have a
- 37:17conversation where it's a little more.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll go.
- 37:26Speaker 14: Okay, I just want to s Yeah.
- 37:29Speaker 7: We'll give you a ride and then we'll bring you
- 37:30right now.
- 37:32Speaker 1: You don't have any knives or anything on you? Okay?
- 37:34Speaker 14: Do you mind if I just password you just really quick,
- 37:36just make sure you don't have anything on you.
- 37:37Speaker 1: No, you're good, okay.
- 37:42Speaker 4: Brianna doesn't ask a single question and simply steps into
- 37:46the back of the cruiser, a strangely calm reaction considering
- 37:49she's been out of sight for months. But things are
- 37:51about to get even stranger. Once, officers call many to
- 37:55come out more time.
- 37:57Speaker 1: One more time, one more time. Okay, do you mind
- 38:01coming and talking with that? Okay, cool, we're right, yeah, just.
- 38:09Speaker 6: As a precaution, that's going to patch you down to
- 38:11make sure you don't have it.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Okay, all right, I appreciate it.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Okay, thank you with that.
- 38:23Speaker 4: Manny's reaction is just as baffling as Brianna's. He also
- 38:27agrees to come along without asking a single question, an
- 38:31odd level of cooperation for a couple who's avoided police
- 38:34for nearly two months. The pair is quickly transported to
- 38:37the station. Upon arrival, they're separated immediately. The detective, Amanda Keller,
- 38:42leads both interrogations. Investigators need to determine which one of
- 38:46the two is responsible, or whether they both played a role.
- 38:50If they can't sort that out, prosecutors may never be
- 38:53able to prove who actually killed the child, and both
- 38:56Brianna and Manny could walk away without a single charge.
- 39:01For the killer couple, everything is on the line as well.
- 39:04If one of them slips up, they risk a life sentence,
- 39:08But if they both stick to the same story, there's
- 39:11a chance they get nothing more than tampering charges or
- 39:14even walk out completely free for the second time.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Thank it's Brianna. Did you get some water? Okay, but
- 39:26it's been a while, so yeah, my name's Amanda Keller.
- 39:28This is Edward Ronda. So we're here today to like
- 39:33we said out there, basically, this investigation is coming to
- 39:35an end, and we just had additional questions for you.
- 39:39How did that night start off?
- 39:42Speaker 20: Well, Okay, I was tired, and whenever after I gave
- 39:46birth and all that, I got depressions, so I would
- 39:49take those and that when that time happened, I took
- 39:53that and I took all so whenever that happened. Okay,
- 40:00whole card thing. I know, I said that, but the
- 40:03actually the actual thing was I you were in the
- 40:06bed and she slept over.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Now, so you woke up, baby was cold, You started
- 40:12doing CPR. What about Manny? What is nanny doing?
- 40:16Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 40:16Speaker 18: I mean I tried to miss it, but Thenny fricked
- 40:20out like like, oh, she.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Was happening great, And then what did you decide to do?
- 40:25Speaker 25: I just.
- 40:28Speaker 18: Put a plastic bag and everything.
- 40:34Speaker 14: I guess I'm just confused as to why y'all would
- 40:36say that you were living in the vehicle and I
- 40:39were just staying like just I don't know, I don't
- 40:42know why I said that.
- 40:43Speaker 2: I was just faked out, gotcha.
- 40:46Speaker 4: Brianna still clings to the claim that her daughter's death
- 40:50was accidental, and through it all, she continues defending Manny,
- 40:54insisting he had nothing to do with it. What Brianna
- 40:57doesn't know is that police already have an autime that
- 41:00directly contradicts her explanation of what happened that night, and
- 41:05the detective is about to use it to completely dismantle
- 41:08her story.
- 41:10Speaker 15: So she did test.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Positive for Do you know why that would be?
- 41:16Speaker 18: I'm not sure.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Okay, do you use? Does many use? Has he used?
- 41:25Speaker 18: He hasn't used it whenever he got theater or anything
- 41:28that I know them.
- 41:29Speaker 7: Okay, we're just trying to figure out why are these
- 41:34lab results telling us this?
- 41:37Speaker 25: We know you know?
- 41:41Speaker 11: Did he use often?
- 41:44Speaker 7: It's a very addicting it. Does he still use?
- 41:51Speaker 1: No?
- 41:52Speaker 7: Well, that's good.
- 41:54Speaker 18: She changed to me to make him, you know, not
- 41:59what with girl?
- 42:01Speaker 7: Yeah? Okay, how long did he use for? You don't know,
- 42:11He's like some months?
- 42:12Speaker 25: Is that.
- 42:14Speaker 7: Some years?
- 42:16Speaker 4: Brianna's hesitation to admit Manny's drug use only confirms what
- 42:21detectives already suspect. She's hiding the truth, and she seems
- 42:25far more focused on protecting Manny than revealing what happened
- 42:29to her own daughter. But Brianna's denials are about to
- 42:32end because detectives still have more gruesome details from the autopsy,
- 42:37things only a truly evil parent could do.
- 42:42Speaker 1: So when we review the autopsy, there were also some
- 42:46injuries to her phones, and one was before she had passed.
- 42:55Do you know why she would have injuries to her to.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Or to her leg?
- 43:07Speaker 1: Did you ever leave her with anybody? So it was
- 43:12primarily either you were manning around her at all times.
- 43:17Speaker 7: Did you really fall asleep on Klan? Yeah, that's what
- 43:21killed her.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Were you guys arguing and he may have taken it
- 43:29out on Kilani? Or was she upset?
- 43:37Speaker 18: I just feel like you'd like crying with him?
- 43:40Speaker 7: Kind this was just one time all the time. But
- 43:48when you hurt her, was this just one time or
- 43:51was this.
- 43:51Speaker 2: All the time?
- 43:53Speaker 10: Once?
- 43:55Speaker 18: You was never like ever just that time?
- 43:57Speaker 1: So he just lost to school, he seems like, Yeah,
- 44:01it's not that.
- 44:02Speaker 18: I just feel like when he went to military, feel
- 44:05like it changed.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, Yeah, that can happen, and if you don't
- 44:10get help for it, it just kind of back.
- 44:12Speaker 18: So I was like that once too.
- 44:14Speaker 4: Then I go out because I was trying to kill Yeah,
- 44:19for the first time, Brianna isn't blaming herself. She's hinting
- 44:24that Manny may have played a role in the child's death.
- 44:28It is at this point detectives decide to pause the
- 44:31interrogation and give her a short break, worried that she
- 44:34might shut down completely if they push any harder. But
- 44:37when they return to the room, something has changed. Brianna
- 44:41can't hide the truth any longer. She's about to break
- 44:44and finally reveal what happened to her daughter that fateful night.
- 44:49Speaker 6: Do you really think he's going to be honest or
- 44:51do you think he's going to.
- 44:53Speaker 7: Put it on you.
- 44:56Speaker 18: Feel like you didn't know.
- 45:00Speaker 12: Tell?
- 45:02Speaker 7: Why is that fun?
- 45:04Speaker 1: That shouldn't be fine? You think that's right? Why did
- 45:09you say earlier if you felt like if you had
- 45:11met somebody else.
- 45:13Speaker 25: That m.
- 45:18Speaker 18: Because none of this would happen.
- 45:20Speaker 11: Why is that?
- 45:25Speaker 18: I just feel like he's different, like ever since you
- 45:29want to the military.
- 45:32Speaker 7: It's okay, it's not your fault. It's not your fault.
- 45:38Speaker 1: It's not your fault. I have loved do what you know,
- 45:43I have moved.
- 45:45Speaker 6: I get it.
- 45:47Speaker 1: You don't have to you know that, right. You don't
- 45:52have to go back there.
- 45:53Speaker 6: You don't feel trapped, You don't have to go back there.
- 46:03Speaker 7: Why do you blame yourself?
- 46:04Speaker 13: Yeah?
- 46:06Speaker 18: Because I have the last.
- 46:09Speaker 1: You can find someone for you to go. You know
- 46:15your family loves you.
- 46:18Speaker 18: I know that you fight.
- 46:19Speaker 1: They do, they do, even still, they still take up
- 46:22for you. They still ask about you if we've heard
- 46:25from you.
- 46:27Speaker 11: They love you.
- 46:29Speaker 1: They do regardless of what's happened.
- 46:32Speaker 18: All my life. I've lived here. Shoot, can.
- 46:39Speaker 6: Y'all this is the first steps one?
- 46:44Speaker 1: Yeah, this is this is this is ship this but
- 46:52it's okay.
- 46:52Speaker 8: But you're doing it now. That's the place you're doing it. Yeah, no, late,
- 47:00but it's not too late, right, it's not too late.
- 47:07Speaker 6: Do you feel safe?
- 47:08Speaker 7: Brion?
- 47:09Speaker 11: Is what we're getting in.
- 47:10Speaker 6: Do you want our help? Do you want us to
- 47:14give you a little bit of time to think?
- 47:16Speaker 27: Real quick?
- 47:17Speaker 6: We'll find you a cooke, try to find you something.
- 47:21Speaker 18: I feel safe?
- 47:24Speaker 1: Good housinga Yeah.
- 47:27Speaker 10: I think.
- 47:29Speaker 4: Brianna's lies are unraveling before her eyes. She says, the
- 47:34military changed Manny, insisting that if it weren't for him,
- 47:37her daughter would still be alive. As she breaks down,
- 47:41even the detectives grow emotional. With Brianna's side of the
- 47:45story now revealed, detectives wrap up the interview and move
- 47:48her into another room, ready to question the person they
- 47:51believe is the real killer. This time, their strategy is different.
- 47:56They plan to confront him with evidence almost immediately and
- 48:00see whether his version of events aligns with Brianna's. But
- 48:03after avoiding consequences for more than a year, Manny still
- 48:07believes he can talk his way out of trouble, and
- 48:10the worst part is he might be right.
- 48:13Speaker 11: Head for everyone.
- 48:15Speaker 1: You will, what kind of medication did you take that night?
- 48:20Speaker 11: I didn't take medication.
- 48:24Speaker 1: So what does that normally do to you? How does
- 48:26that affect your body?
- 48:27Speaker 10: Knocks me up, it does what.
- 48:29Speaker 1: I'm sorry, It knocks me up, knocks you out, like
- 48:32just makes you tired.
- 48:35Speaker 14: Okay, okay, So even in that time, right, she can't
- 48:37hold her head up right. She can't crawl, so she's
- 48:41very dependent on somebody right to hold her to move
- 48:45her right. She can't just put something in her mouth
- 48:48or however. Okay, so how would she have consers? So
- 48:53who else could have been around her and smoked it
- 48:57or somehow?
- 49:00Speaker 1: Okay, that doesn't make sense to me. Do you see
- 49:02how we're kind of if you're yeah, how did the
- 49:07baby get hold of it?
- 49:09Speaker 11: That's what I understand either.
- 49:11Speaker 4: Manny's admission to taking the drugs only further confirms detective suspicions.
- 49:16At this point, he is their primary focus, and investigators
- 49:19believe he's the one responsible for their daughter's death, so
- 49:22they stop circling around the topic and decide to fully
- 49:25accuse Manny of murder to see if they can break
- 49:28his story and elicita confession.
- 49:33Speaker 1: This is your knee essentially right and right here? Do
- 49:39you see that? It's more of a this is like
- 49:42an actual This is more of like a yeah, like
- 49:46here's your right and then it's right here on the corner.
- 49:53Do you know why she would have had injury? Right there?
- 49:58Speaker 7: The only the only I.
- 50:01Speaker 16: Would know, The only thing that worried me was her
- 50:03probably being because whenever we did do the CPR, that's
- 50:07what The only cause injuries that I would know, like every.
- 50:11Speaker 6: Yanked your leg or nothing like that.
- 50:15Speaker 7: Okay, man, I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 50:18Speaker 6: We know, Wow, we know what happened, Like the facts
- 50:22don't lie on the autopsy report.
- 50:24Speaker 24: Okay, we know that the injuries occurred before death, all right,
- 50:31so that CPR doesn't play in fact. Okay, So the
- 50:35medical examiners have a way of proving injuries before death
- 50:39because the bone will actually start to try to heal
- 50:41almost immediately.
- 50:43Speaker 7: Does that make sense.
- 50:44Speaker 6: You're still getting blood flow and all that kind of stuff.
- 50:46Speaker 27: I don't know the science behind it, but based off
- 50:50what happened, injuries were prior to death, meaning she was
- 50:54still alive when the injuries occurred, all injuries.
- 50:58Speaker 11: Does that make sense?
- 51:01Speaker 4: As detectives continue laying out the evidence against him, Manny
- 51:05sits stone faced. This is the moment where everything hangs
- 51:09in the balance. With all cards on the table and
- 51:12murder accusations in front of him, many could shut down
- 51:15the entire interrogation, ask for a lawyer, and refuse to
- 51:19answer another question. What happens next will determine not only
- 51:23his fate, but Brianna's as well.
- 51:26Speaker 7: Just tells nor I already know.
- 51:30Speaker 11: She's being fussen and I got upset. Good bye a
- 51:34leg and jameter, and she's gonna stop crying, so nice said, okay,
- 51:40that was no How long did you say no? Long?
- 51:46Maybe like a media, maybe this is a little bit of.
- 51:49Speaker 6: Time until until what she stopped crying?
- 51:54Speaker 25: I see.
- 51:56Speaker 2: When did you know.
- 51:59Speaker 7: That she had died?
- 52:00Speaker 11: Mm? Whenever I got up, she's talking, so I thought
- 52:07she was like, oh gosh, I checked her and she
- 52:10wasn't reading.
- 52:12Speaker 16: Okay, and then what And that's when we should have
- 52:15been the CPI okay reading panicking?
- 52:19Speaker 7: Didn't know what happened? Why didn't y'all caught blah blah blah?
- 52:26Speaker 11: That was my That wasn't my called. Brianna wanted to
- 52:29call him, but I told her not to.
- 52:32Speaker 7: Just freaked out and we just were scared.
- 52:35Speaker 1: What was Brianna doing when everything was happening?
- 52:38Speaker 3: Mmm?
- 52:42Speaker 11: I think she was in the kitchen. I don't know.
- 52:44And when she came in and she would have went twitter,
- 52:48I was like, she's not beating you.
- 52:52Speaker 7: Did she see what happened? She didn't see it.
- 52:56Speaker 6: There's no way for he stopping here or nothing like that.
- 53:01Was that the first time you had lost your temper?
- 53:05Speaker 24: Is it just a constant cry and just kind of
- 53:07got to you or just a split second is kind of.
- 53:11Speaker 4: Lowsuit, Manny finally admits he snapped and killed Brianna's daughter
- 53:17in a moment of rage. Following his confession, both suspects
- 53:21are taken into custody, Manny on charges of child resulting
- 53:24in death and Brianna for tampering with evidence and helping
- 53:28bury the body. But despite a murder confession, both Brianna
- 53:31and Manny will ultimately walk out of jail. As of
- 53:35September twenty twenty five, both have been released on bond
- 53:38while awaiting trial. They are right now free, unrestricted, unsupervised,
- 53:44and able to disappear at any moment. Manny is likely
- 53:48facing a life sentence if convicted. Brianna, for her role
- 53:51in hiding the body, is expected to receive a significantly
- 53:54shorter term, but that's only if they show up to court.
- 53:58With Manny's family ties in Mexico and both suspects currently
- 54:01out in the world, there is always a chance they
- 54:04could vanish again, this time for good.
