- 0:14Speaker 1: the goal line. He throws it into the end zone.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Touchdown Seahawks. It's Michael Bumpus with a diving catch in
- 0:21Speaker 1: the end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpas,
- 0:25Speaker 1: and the kid out of Washington State has found himself
- 0:28Speaker 1: a place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Let's just coming. Brus is gonna let it fly. He's
- 0:34Speaker 1: got metcaff deep. Met caf Ridge is up. He makes
- 0:37Speaker 1: the catch near midfield. You want to play cold on
- 0:42Speaker 1: the Seahawks, just throw it deep and metcalf makes the catch.
- 0:46Speaker 1: He has been spectacular today and the Seahawks now can
- 0:52Speaker 1: use up this last time out of the Eagles and
- 0:54Speaker 1: can run this clock down. Yes, sir, this is Michael
- 0:58Speaker 1: Bumpus along with my producing nasage, hoping you listen to
- 1:00Speaker 1: a Hawk Talk the recap edition. The Seahawks beat the
- 1:04Speaker 1: Eagles seventeen and nine and advanced to the division round
- 1:08Speaker 1: for the seventh time in Pete Carroll's ten year career.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Here in the Northwest. It's a great day to be
- 1:15Speaker 1: at twelve nas. It's a great day. And you can
- 1:17Speaker 1: never sleep on that. Man, that's stat we have. It's
- 1:19Speaker 1: so good here in Seattle. We're so spoiled. I mean,
- 1:22Speaker 1: every Monday morning after wins and losses will get on
- 1:24Speaker 1: here and people you know, on Twitter and out there
- 1:27Speaker 1: want to complain about this, nitpick about that. But listen here,
- 1:30Speaker 1: you said seven of the last ten years want a
- 1:33Speaker 1: playoff game. I mean, there's a lot of teams that
- 1:35Speaker 1: packed up their gear and had locker clean out last
- 1:38Speaker 1: week the Seahawks advanced. Now there's only eight teams left.
- 1:40Speaker 1: They're still playing. I'm excited nothing. I mean, I'm happy
- 1:44Speaker 1: as hell. It's it's been a great it's a great Monday.
- 1:46Speaker 1: It's a great Monday. And it's just the way that
- 1:49Speaker 1: they did it. You know, the last time they played
- 1:51Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Eagles, it was the same score seventeen and nine,
- 1:54Speaker 1: but it looked a little different. They rushed for one
- 1:56Speaker 1: hundred and seventy four yards the last time they play.
- 1:59Speaker 1: This time, Russell Wilson had a redemption game against these guys.
- 2:02Speaker 1: He didn't play his best at last time they played
- 2:04Speaker 1: against Philly. This time he showed up and he bawled out.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Proud of that, dude, Proud of this team. On to
- 2:10Speaker 1: the next they're going to Green Bay. But let's talk
- 2:12Speaker 1: about the main takeaways we got from this game. The
- 2:15Speaker 1: Seahawks can proved to eight and one on the road
- 2:17Speaker 1: this season, which is ridiculous. Eight and won on the road.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Could you imagine they would have won one or two
- 2:23Speaker 1: more games? Of goodness? Well, if if you would have
- 2:25Speaker 1: just told me that alone, Hey, the Seahawks wodn't be
- 2:27Speaker 1: eight and one on the road, I would be like, okay,
- 2:29Speaker 1: did they Were they fourteen and two? Were they fifteen
- 2:31Speaker 1: and one? So obviously it was disappointing to go four
- 2:34Speaker 1: and four at home this season, but what they've been
- 2:36Speaker 1: able to do on the road is super impressive, super encouraging.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And also some of that home record is you lost
- 2:41Speaker 1: to the Saints playoff team, You lost to the Ravens
- 2:44Speaker 1: playoff team, you know what I mean, you lost to
- 2:45Speaker 1: the Niners playoff team, So some of that factors in.
- 2:48Speaker 1: But the confidence they have at eight and one. They
- 2:51Speaker 1: know and everyone eats it permeates through the entire locker
- 2:53Speaker 1: room that when they go on the road, it's business
- 2:55Speaker 1: as usual and they're gonna get it done. They're gonna
- 2:57Speaker 1: get it done. They also they won their first fourth
- 3:00Speaker 1: road playoff game in franchise history. It's so tough to
- 3:04Speaker 1: win on the road during the regular season. When you
- 3:06Speaker 1: can do it in the postseason, it gives you life.
- 3:09Speaker 1: And this team they are road warriors. Now they got
- 3:11Speaker 1: to go to Green Bay get it done. But because
- 3:14Speaker 1: they were eight and one on the excuse me, seven
- 3:16Speaker 1: to one in the regular season on the road, now
- 3:18Speaker 1: eight and one total throughout the season. It gives you
- 3:21Speaker 1: life and it makes you think that this team might
- 3:23Speaker 1: be able to make a run. Oh absolutely, And it's
- 3:26Speaker 1: fourth in franchise history. The Seahawks has been around for
- 3:28Speaker 1: a long time and for the longest time, road games
- 3:31Speaker 1: were hard. I mean even last year and losing the
- 3:32Speaker 1: Dallas So to be the fourth team in history to
- 3:35Speaker 1: win a road playoff game is super impressive. And yes,
- 3:38Speaker 1: it definitely gives you confidence because now you start thinking, Okay,
- 3:41Speaker 1: you go to Green Bay, that's the team. If you
- 3:42Speaker 1: get Dwayne brownback, get a couple of pieces back. They're
- 3:45Speaker 1: in great shape. But now you have confidence, and all
- 3:46Speaker 1: of a sudden, before you get ahead of yourself, you're like, wait,
- 3:49Speaker 1: we win this week, We're one game away from the
- 3:51Speaker 1: super Bowl. Crazy. I mean, it's it's wild crazy. The
- 3:53Speaker 1: seahoffs also improved to eleven and two in one score games.
- 3:57Speaker 1: They tied the twenty fifteen Broncos for the most one
- 4:00Speaker 1: score wins in a single season including playoffs all time.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I mean, we've been all year, We've been stressed out,
- 4:06Speaker 1: all right, I'm already bald. I'm losing more hair messing
- 4:10Speaker 1: with these guys. But games like the regular season to
- 4:13Speaker 1: where they're one score games come to light in the
- 4:16Speaker 1: playoffs because they've been there, they've done that, and especially
- 4:19Speaker 1: when you have a young team, these guys are gonna
- 4:21Speaker 1: pull back from those experience during the regular season when
- 4:23Speaker 1: it comes to the postseason when you're playing against the
- 4:26Speaker 1: best teams in the NFL and it's probably gonna be
- 4:28Speaker 1: a one score game anyway, of course. I mean they're
- 4:30Speaker 1: used that is in their DNA. They win close games
- 4:33Speaker 1: when it's winning time, when it's money time, Russell Wilson time.
- 4:36Speaker 1: They get it done. And it's great because you look
- 4:38Speaker 1: at teams that struggle when if you're on a team
- 4:41Speaker 1: that struggles, and especially in late game situations, when you
- 4:43Speaker 1: get in that situation again, human nature is like, ah,
- 4:46Speaker 1: here we go again. So you start getting tight, you
- 4:48Speaker 1: start getting nervous. There's none of that on this football team.
- 4:51Speaker 1: None of that. The defense recorded as season high seven
- 4:54Speaker 1: sacks against the Philadelphia Eagles. It didn't feel like seven
- 4:57Speaker 1: sacks because they only told them about fifteen yards in losses.
- 5:00Speaker 1: But they got after that quarterback the last two weeks.
- 5:03Speaker 1: They got thirteen sacks two weeks prior to that one sack.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I asked Pete Carroll, what's the difference. He said, Clowney, Well,
- 5:11Speaker 1: Clowney is a monster, that dude. He's so I mean,
- 5:15Speaker 1: whether it's in the run game, getting after the quarterback,
- 5:18Speaker 1: he is so impressive and the stats won't even show
- 5:20Speaker 1: it all the time. The stats don't show it because
- 5:22Speaker 1: he is active on every player, whether he gets to
- 5:24Speaker 1: tackle or sack. He makes plays and he's so disruptive,
- 5:27Speaker 1: whether it's an insight to a move to stop the
- 5:28Speaker 1: run or whatever it is. He makes other guys make
- 5:31Speaker 1: plays because of how he how disrupted the upfront. So
- 5:34Speaker 1: Clowney's definitely attributed to that. Think about we only have
- 5:37Speaker 1: like twenty seven sacks on this season and they have
- 5:39Speaker 1: seven last night. Is unbelievable. Unbelievable. On the national stage,
- 5:43Speaker 1: DK Metcalf showed why the Seahawks drafted him. Kid balled
- 5:48Speaker 1: down one hundred and sixty yards a game seiling catch
- 5:52Speaker 1: to finish it off in the bunch formation, faked the screen,
- 5:55Speaker 1: he goes up top. He did everything a receiver needs
- 5:58Speaker 1: to do. He caught the long ball, he caught the
- 6:00Speaker 1: short ball, had yards after the catch, He went downfield,
- 6:03Speaker 1: he was blocking guys, he had a touchdown. Everything that
- 6:06Speaker 1: you can ask a wide receiver to do. DK did it,
- 6:09Speaker 1: and he looked smooth and confident in doing it. From
- 6:12Speaker 1: the first catch of the game. We said that when
- 6:13Speaker 1: you're watching the game yesterday, you could telling him he
- 6:16Speaker 1: flexed on him. You could just see the confidence in him,
- 6:18Speaker 1: Like you said, your receiver. The way he's catching the football,
- 6:21Speaker 1: it looks clean. He's snatching out in the air. Russell's
- 6:23Speaker 1: putting in a place where only DK can go up
- 6:25Speaker 1: and get it. And he has been a monster, and
- 6:27Speaker 1: it's great to see yes, their last takeaway, survive in advance.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I don't care what it look like. I don't care
- 6:32Speaker 1: of seventeen and nine. It doesn't matter. Guess what Philly's
- 6:35Speaker 1: going home. Hawks are headed to Green Bay. All it is.
- 6:39Speaker 1: It's all about winning. You just win no matter what
- 6:42Speaker 1: it looks like. There's no style points. This isn't two
- 6:44Speaker 1: thousand and six with the BCS system and you need
- 6:47Speaker 1: to blow teams out. This is the NFL. This is
- 6:48Speaker 1: a tournament season, and they got it done. We've been
- 6:51Speaker 1: saying this if you look back at our old podcast,
- 6:53Speaker 1: we've been saying this all season when all the naysayers
- 6:55Speaker 1: were just complaining, complaining, complaining, Well, we didn't win the
- 6:59Speaker 1: right way where we didn't in this way. We gave
- 7:00Speaker 1: it twenty points here, we only scored this day. It
- 7:02Speaker 1: doesn't matter that. At the end of the day, in
- 7:04Speaker 1: the NFL, the only things that matter are wins in losses,
- 7:07Speaker 1: and like you said, survive in advances the name of
- 7:09Speaker 1: the game. Seahawks in the divisional playoffs. Let's go now,
- 7:12Speaker 1: we're gonna move on to the top performers. Got to
- 7:14Speaker 1: start off with Russell Wilson eighteen to thirty three, hundred
- 7:17Speaker 1: and twenty five yards when one touched him. And he
- 7:20Speaker 1: was also the leading rusher in the game for the
- 7:23Speaker 1: Seahawks with nine carries for forty five yards in the
- 7:25Speaker 1: QB rating of one hundred and eight point three. Well,
- 7:29Speaker 1: I mean, what can you say about this guy when
- 7:31Speaker 1: it's time to perform, when the game's on the line,
- 7:32Speaker 1: when they need you the most, when the run game
- 7:34Speaker 1: isn't working. He not only throws for over three hundred yards,
- 7:38Speaker 1: he leads the team in Russian, had a big run
- 7:40Speaker 1: for about twenty yards. He looked like he had a
- 7:42Speaker 1: little spring to a step. Two. Man, he's starting to
- 7:44Speaker 1: look a little healthy. Well, you saw that third and
- 7:45Speaker 1: fifteen run where he had to put a move on somebody.
- 7:47Speaker 1: He was about six yards short at first contact, puts
- 7:50Speaker 1: a move on, somebody, gets the first down. And when
- 7:52Speaker 1: you look at that stat line, when you're when you're
- 7:55Speaker 1: able to throw for over three hundred yards, when your
- 7:57Speaker 1: team is not able to run the football whatsoever of earth,
- 8:00Speaker 1: that just shows you how impressive he is. And yeah,
- 8:02Speaker 1: they only scored seventeen points, but they're going up and
- 8:04Speaker 1: down the field. They're getting a lot of yards between
- 8:06Speaker 1: twenties and Russell Wilson, the special guys all about possession,
- 8:09Speaker 1: another top of former DK metcalf seven receptions, one hundred
- 8:12Speaker 1: and sixty yards and one touchdown. DK's one sixty receiving
- 8:16Speaker 1: yards Sunday are the most by any rookie NFL and
- 8:19Speaker 1: playoff history. In his debut, Metcalf had fifth had the
- 8:23Speaker 1: fifth most receiving yards by any player in their playoff debut.
- 8:26Speaker 1: I mean everybody was hating on this guy. I would
- 8:30Speaker 1: say everybody. I would say the lot sighters hating on
- 8:32Speaker 1: this guy. All why they draft him? He can't run this, right,
- 8:36Speaker 1: he can't do this. And all this young man has
- 8:38Speaker 1: done has worked his butt off and persevered. I'm happy
- 8:42Speaker 1: for the dude. I described it as me watching my
- 8:44Speaker 1: little nephew just grow up. Granted he's bigger than me,
- 8:48Speaker 1: but in age wise, he's still my little nephew. Watching
- 8:51Speaker 1: him do his thing. He's looking confident, he's looking smooth.
- 8:54Speaker 1: He's gonna be a problem for years to come. Oh,
- 8:56Speaker 1: he is going to be. He's already a monster. And
- 8:58Speaker 1: I would shudder to think if you're a defensive back
- 9:01Speaker 1: in the NFL, especially the NFC West, you're gonna have
- 9:03Speaker 1: your hands full for a long time. And the thing
- 9:06Speaker 1: about d K two is you mentioned it, So I
- 9:08Speaker 1: wonder for the doubters and the haters, you're still concerned
- 9:11Speaker 1: about the three cone time. I mean, the thing about
- 9:15Speaker 1: so much emphasis goes into the comment. I don't get
- 9:17Speaker 1: me wrong, it's important, but you also have game tape
- 9:20Speaker 1: and what he can show. And he's spent all summer
- 9:22Speaker 1: working out with Russell Wilson. He's getting up at five
- 9:25Speaker 1: forty five catching Boston Russell Wilson, He's hitting the jug
- 9:27Speaker 1: after every single practice, he's getting out early, He's doing
- 9:30Speaker 1: everything that he needs to and it showed. I mean,
- 9:32Speaker 1: not only is that an NFL record for rookies, that's
- 9:34Speaker 1: a Seahawk postseason record, breaking Daryl Jackson's record of a
- 9:38Speaker 1: one hundred and forty three yards back against Washington two
- 9:40Speaker 1: thousand and six. So that just shows you. You know,
- 9:42Speaker 1: we've had some pretty damn good receivers in this franchise,
- 9:44Speaker 1: Steve Largen among them. So for him to put on
- 9:47Speaker 1: that kind of performances is unbelievable. He's already immortal when
- 9:51Speaker 1: it comes to the Seahawk franchise, and this is his
- 9:53Speaker 1: first year. More to come with this young man, none
- 9:56Speaker 1: of this hot performer. Quinn Jefferson two sacks, two QB hits,
- 10:00Speaker 1: two tackles for losses. It seems like this defensive line
- 10:04Speaker 1: is starting to cast their stride right at the right moment.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Last week and against the forty nine ers that had
- 10:09Speaker 1: six sacks, they got seven. Here Quintin Jefferson is stepping
- 10:12Speaker 1: up and doing this thing. Quinn Jefferson's having the best
- 10:14Speaker 1: year of his career. And he started the year he
- 10:16Speaker 1: had two sacks, I believe against Cincinnati. But he's just
- 10:19Speaker 1: been consistent. They've asked him to line up in almost
- 10:21Speaker 1: every position on the defensive line, and he has just
- 10:23Speaker 1: been consistent, whether it's the run or the past. And
- 10:26Speaker 1: what I liked too is he was on the huddle
- 10:27Speaker 1: last week and he was talking about how they're still
- 10:31Speaker 1: figuring each other out. It's you know, people think, oh,
- 10:33Speaker 1: after a couple games, you got it, but no, it
- 10:35Speaker 1: takes time. Whether it's like, hey, Clowney likes to do this,
- 10:37Speaker 1: so I'm gonna duck underneath, right, So they're still as
- 10:40Speaker 1: a season's gone on, they've started to learn each other
- 10:42Speaker 1: even more, whether it's Jay Reid or everyone together. So
- 10:45Speaker 1: now they're all putting together, and he bought out yesterday.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Now we're gonna move on to the catalysts of this
- 10:50Speaker 1: defensive line. Another top performers Davey and Clowney. Five tackles,
- 10:53Speaker 1: one sack, two tackles for losses. Those are good stats,
- 10:57Speaker 1: but that still doesn't show what he really brings to
- 10:59Speaker 1: the table. He is disruptive. There was a jet sweep
- 11:02Speaker 1: that probably would have broke out for about fifteen to
- 11:05Speaker 1: twenty yard game and he shot the gap, tackled the guy.
- 11:09Speaker 1: He's so dang long. It's tough with this guy, and
- 11:12Speaker 1: he looks healthier now. Last week he seemed a little
- 11:14Speaker 1: timid when it came to his hand movements and hand placement.
- 11:17Speaker 1: This week he seemed like he was going all out.
- 11:19Speaker 1: He seems healthy, ready to go. Well, that play you mentioned, um,
- 11:22Speaker 1: I don't think there's another defensive end in the NFL
- 11:25Speaker 1: who makes that play. Maybe Nick Bosa just the the
- 11:27Speaker 1: athleticism it took because he's shooting up field and in
- 11:30Speaker 1: a split second change his direction and throws him down
- 11:32Speaker 1: for a tackle for lost. There's another play where it
- 11:35Speaker 1: was gonna hit another run playoff probably gonna hit for
- 11:37Speaker 1: twenty five or thirty, He sweeps inside, makes a big
- 11:40Speaker 1: tackle and he's just I mean, the guy is a
- 11:42Speaker 1: game wrecker. Game wreckerd. Jadeveon Clowney are last top of
- 11:46Speaker 1: Farmer low key. I don't think people are really talking
- 11:49Speaker 1: about this. They're not, they're not, They're feeling the Dougal
- 11:51Speaker 1: eleven tackles, one sack, two tackles for losses and he
- 11:55Speaker 1: went up against one of the best tight ends in
- 11:57Speaker 1: the game in zach Ertz, probably the best Combo Goddard
- 12:00Speaker 1: as well, and they didn't score touchdown. We know that
- 12:02Speaker 1: the Hawks have struggled against with the tight ends this season.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Bradley McDougall stepped up, and he stepped up in a
- 12:08Speaker 1: big way. Zach Ertz went I was targeted four times,
- 12:11Speaker 1: had two receptions for forty four yards. So I'll take
- 12:13Speaker 1: that any day of the week. We were struggling to,
- 12:15Speaker 1: like you mentioned, to cover tight ends and to shut down.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I know zach Ertz was playing hurt. He didn't look
- 12:19Speaker 1: like it. No, he looked like normal zach Ertz and
- 12:22Speaker 1: Bradley McDougald has been balling out and locked him down
- 12:24Speaker 1: and it just it's cool to see everyone back with
- 12:28Speaker 1: Diggs back there. It just everyone settles down. Radley can
- 12:32Speaker 1: this be in the box and worry about his business there.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Diggs keeps everything in front. You're not worrying about the
- 12:36Speaker 1: big play. So great angles, So all of them together
- 12:39Speaker 1: is great for the Seahawk secondary. Yeah, that's a great
- 12:41Speaker 1: point with Diggs. Pete Carrolls said that their communication is awesome.
- 12:45Speaker 1: You gotta be able to communicate and trust. No knock
- 12:48Speaker 1: to any of the other any of the other safeties
- 12:50Speaker 1: I've been playing this season, but there's something about the
- 12:54Speaker 1: Quandre and McDougall tandem that just makes sense. They trust
- 12:58Speaker 1: each other, they're veterans, they know what they're doing, they're prepared.
- 13:01Speaker 1: So it's nice to see McDougall really just let his
- 13:04Speaker 1: hair loose and be able to just play football again.
- 13:06Speaker 1: All Right, we're gonna move over to the receiver round up.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Like mentioned, dk best game of his career seven catches,
- 13:12Speaker 1: one sixty one touchdown along of fifty three. The biggest
- 13:16Speaker 1: catch of the game was the game selling third and ten.
- 13:22Speaker 1: It's third and ten. They're not gonna run the ball
- 13:24Speaker 1: to keep the clock going. They're gonna take a shot,
- 13:27Speaker 1: and why not go to the biggest man on the
- 13:29Speaker 1: field who was balling at the time. And Russell Wilson
- 13:32Speaker 1: also goes to show you how well he was doing.
- 13:33Speaker 1: He said, I'm gonna throw it up so I know
- 13:35Speaker 1: that DK is the one that's gonna come down with it,
- 13:37Speaker 1: you know. And I thought that was a great throwd
- 13:38Speaker 1: by him. DK climbs the ladder puts that for whatever
- 13:41Speaker 1: his vertical was, forty four inches or whatever it was,
- 13:43Speaker 1: snatches a football comes down with a huge play and
- 13:46Speaker 1: it was great to see. Great to see Tyler Lockett
- 13:48Speaker 1: half four catches for sixty two yards. Let's not sleep
- 13:51Speaker 1: on Tyler Lockett. There were a lot of clutch players
- 13:54Speaker 1: in the middle of the field that he came down with.
- 13:57Speaker 1: He's the deep cross champion of the world. He's great
- 13:59Speaker 1: at that. He's set down in the zone. And what
- 14:01Speaker 1: I liked what they did with Tyler Lockett is he
- 14:03Speaker 1: usually runs that deep cross the games for about twenty
- 14:06Speaker 1: to twenty five yards to the opposite sideline. This week
- 14:09Speaker 1: he effected and set down in the zone and Russell
- 14:12Speaker 1: was able to find him a couple of times. Yeah,
- 14:13Speaker 1: and what about the catch on the sideline? Yeah, I mean,
- 14:16Speaker 1: you watch it. You're like, uh, how it's a great catch.
- 14:18Speaker 1: But they used to replay oh my god, he got that. Yeah.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I mean the presence of mind and the foot or
- 14:23Speaker 1: to know where you are on the field and with
- 14:26Speaker 1: your body position to get your feet down. It's unreal, unreal.
- 14:28Speaker 1: David Moore had two catches for fifty seven and a
- 14:31Speaker 1: long of thirty eight in demo Man. I mean he
- 14:34Speaker 1: just makes big plays. He might not have the numbers
- 14:37Speaker 1: that he would like to have, but it seems like
- 14:39Speaker 1: every time he's called upon to make a play, he
- 14:42Speaker 1: usually makes the play, and he makes it big. The
- 14:45Speaker 1: best thing about his long of thirty eight yards was
- 14:49Speaker 1: DK leading the charge. Whoa dude out? That's see, that's
- 14:53Speaker 1: a that's an underrated part DK's game. He's a big dude.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Doesn't mean you know some receivers don't want to block. No,
- 14:58Speaker 1: he came out there and was like, come get some
- 15:00Speaker 1: putting dbs on the ground. Love to see in demail
- 15:03Speaker 1: the presence of mine. He kind of came backwards as
- 15:05Speaker 1: he caught the ball, turned up field and made a
- 15:07Speaker 1: big play, made a big play. Marshawn Lenarch had two
- 15:09Speaker 1: catches for twenty five along of twenty and you said
- 15:13Speaker 1: it the best. He said, he's stiffed armed the guy
- 15:15Speaker 1: into oblivion. It was his left hand, so it wasn't
- 15:18Speaker 1: even the right hand, it was his left I'm gonna
- 15:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna say that he's a writing because has a writing.
- 15:23Speaker 1: He got you with the off hand, stiffed arm the dude.
- 15:26Speaker 1: It was as nice to see him contributing in a
- 15:28Speaker 1: different way this week than he did last week. Yeah,
- 15:30Speaker 1: and just it just shows the power that is just
- 15:32Speaker 1: grown man strength. I don't know what else to call it.
- 15:34Speaker 1: To do that with your left your left hand. Ask
- 15:36Speaker 1: you haven't been playing football year in the throw a
- 15:39Speaker 1: grown man in the NFL dependsive back ten yards down
- 15:41Speaker 1: the field. It's fun to see. Jacob Paulist had two
- 15:44Speaker 1: catches for sixteen yards. He's been consistent all year. And
- 15:46Speaker 1: then Travis Homer had one catch for five yards. So
- 15:49Speaker 1: now we're gonna shift to the coach's corner. That's when
- 15:52Speaker 1: we break down the play. We're gonna break down DK
- 15:54Speaker 1: medcats fifty three yard touchdown from Russell whistling and happened
- 15:58Speaker 1: in the third quarter with about eight forty six left
- 16:01Speaker 1: on the clock. Goes in motion, Russell play fake now
- 16:03Speaker 1: he's gonna throw down the middle, kind of man Mancaalf
- 16:06Speaker 1: makes the catch diving. He is in for a touchdown Seahawks.
- 16:12Speaker 1: What a play by the rookie DK Midcalf gets in
- 16:16Speaker 1: behind the secondary, makes a diving catch, hits the ground,
- 16:20Speaker 1: gets back up, and then drags a defender to the
- 16:23Speaker 1: end zone fifty three yards. What a play by number fourteen.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Simply spectacular, and the Seahawks lead by ten. This is
- 16:34Speaker 1: this great recognition of the defense by Russell Wilson. They
- 16:38Speaker 1: start off DK in the slot. Locket is to his left,
- 16:41Speaker 1: he's outside of him. They motion Locket across the formation
- 16:45Speaker 1: and the safety comes down. So now there's a one
- 16:47Speaker 1: high look. There's a one high look, and now the
- 16:51Speaker 1: safety that's left cheats to the other side of the
- 16:54Speaker 1: field and it's just all ability from there. There there's
- 16:58Speaker 1: no great route running. It's just look, I'm I'm faster
- 17:01Speaker 1: than Russell Wilson. Tosses up with football. DK catches it
- 17:06Speaker 1: with his hands. I thought it was sloppy at first,
- 17:07Speaker 1: but then he slowed it down. He looked at his hands.
- 17:09Speaker 1: It's all hands. He falls down and has the awareness
- 17:13Speaker 1: to get up and get into the end zone when
- 17:16Speaker 1: you see a rookie make a player and then he
- 17:17Speaker 1: stretches out for the touchdown. He did so much in
- 17:20Speaker 1: this one play and there was nothing really complicated about
- 17:23Speaker 1: the play. He just had to make the play and
- 17:25Speaker 1: he catches the football, falls down, gets up, stretches out.
- 17:29Speaker 1: The game is slowing down for the young man well.
- 17:31Speaker 1: And it's great to see because everyone has always wanted
- 17:35Speaker 1: the Seahawks have this big, physical receiver. People have been
- 17:38Speaker 1: complaining about that for years and we've had great ones.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Doug Baldwin one of the best ever. We have Jermaine Curse.
- 17:43Speaker 1: We had a lot of good receivers in this building,
- 17:45Speaker 1: but they weren't that stature. To see someone with that
- 17:47Speaker 1: stature to go up and make the play and like
- 17:49Speaker 1: you said, the full extension, all hands, presence of mind.
- 17:53Speaker 1: You know he has not been touched and you're just
- 17:55Speaker 1: growing man. Someone put in the end zone. DK is
- 17:58Speaker 1: on the national stage, you better recognize and you have
- 18:01Speaker 1: the game plan for that man, because he's a problem
- 18:03Speaker 1: game plan. Now, I'm gonna go out there and say
- 18:05Speaker 1: he is a little Teal esque. I'm not who knows
- 18:08Speaker 1: what he does after this year and what his career
- 18:10Speaker 1: looks like. But if I had to compare him to
- 18:13Speaker 1: a receiver, he's got some teal in him. And I'm
- 18:16Speaker 1: gonna say right now, his hands are a little better
- 18:18Speaker 1: than Tio's hands. I agree, I agree. I think TiO
- 18:21Speaker 1: Is obviously is a Hall of Family player. But you're
- 18:24Speaker 1: right in terms of the hands in the catching, and
- 18:26Speaker 1: you see the work he's putting in and it looks
- 18:28Speaker 1: clean like yesterday. It's the cleanest I have seen that
- 18:30Speaker 1: man look all season long. Yep, hard work is paying off,
- 18:33Speaker 1: all right? The best thing? What do we learn about
- 18:35Speaker 1: this again? For the ninth time this year they are
- 18:40Speaker 1: road Warriors. Eight time this year. This team could go
- 18:43Speaker 1: down as one of the best road teams in NFL history.
- 18:46Speaker 1: With a couple more wins. No team has been the
- 18:48Speaker 1: fifth seed in the NFL and won a Super Bowl.
- 18:51Speaker 1: If I'm gonna put my money on any team, I'm
- 18:53Speaker 1: gonna put my money on this team because they show
- 18:55Speaker 1: they can go anywhere. Don't matter the time, the time zone,
- 18:58Speaker 1: whatever you want to do, you go on the road.
- 19:01Speaker 1: They got a chance to win. Oh of course, then
- 19:02Speaker 1: who else would you rather bet on than Russell Wilson
- 19:04Speaker 1: and Pete Carroll? I mean, done and done. I'll take
- 19:07Speaker 1: my chances in Green Bay. It's a great football team
- 19:08Speaker 1: down there, and they'll have their work cut out for him.
- 19:10Speaker 1: But if you're gonna bet on anybody, I'd bet on
- 19:12Speaker 1: number three and Pete most definitely. Another thing. DK showed
- 19:15Speaker 1: us exactly who he is. He is just scratching the surface.
- 19:19Speaker 1: This guy's mad potential. I look at him and he
- 19:21Speaker 1: had his best game as a professional, and I look
- 19:24Speaker 1: at the film, I'm like, man, he stick out some
- 19:26Speaker 1: things he can get better at and he just had
- 19:28Speaker 1: seven catches for one sixty and setting NFL records. So
- 19:31Speaker 1: the fact that he is just scratching the surface, now, NFC, AFC,
- 19:36Speaker 1: the NFL, y'all better be aware of this young man
- 19:38Speaker 1: Number four teen. Yeah, take notice. Man, he's out there.
- 19:41Speaker 1: I think I think the word is out it. It
- 19:43Speaker 1: was cool that you got to do that on the
- 19:44Speaker 1: national stage. Everybody watching the last game of wild Card weekend,
- 19:47Speaker 1: which was a great weekend. Quick sidebar shout out to
- 19:50Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus who predicted Titan win last week. Credit with
- 19:54Speaker 1: credits d I didn't think it was gonna happen, but
- 19:55Speaker 1: it did happen, So good for you. Appreciate, appreciateate. You know, hey, hey,
- 19:59Speaker 1: blind lion scorifies another you know what I mean? Another thing.
- 20:03Speaker 1: The Seahawks are just two wins away from the Super Bowl.
- 20:06Speaker 1: They survived and they advanced. You just go to Green Bay.
- 20:09Speaker 1: You do what it is you do. I like the matchup.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I would have preferred going to San franci to smack
- 20:15Speaker 1: those dudes and remind them whose boss. But they're going
- 20:18Speaker 1: to Green Bay, lambeau Field in January. Where else would
- 20:23Speaker 1: you would you want to play against Aaron Rodgers, against
- 20:26Speaker 1: Aaron Jones, Vonte Adams. They got a squad. The Seahawks
- 20:30Speaker 1: have a squad. I think they're rough for the challenge. Again.
- 20:33Speaker 1: This is Michael Bumps along with NASA Chobyta recappetition. The
- 20:37Speaker 1: Seahawks beat the Eagles seventeen to nine. Sound familiar in
- 20:40Speaker 1: advance to the Vision round of the playoffs. It's been
- 20:43Speaker 1: real well, howlod you next time windon, Lindain Tindall
