- 0:00Speaker 1: You're ahead of the game just for being here. It's
- 0:04Speaker 1: Mark Simone on 710WOR. Well, a lot to get through
- 0:09Speaker 1: this hour. Kathy Hochul giving a big interview to the left-wing, biased,
- 0:15Speaker 1: slanted site called Politico. Politico's been caught in some fake
- 0:21Speaker 1: news recently. They're the ones that had that whole fake
- 0:24Speaker 1: story that Susie Wiles, the White House chief of staff,
- 0:27Speaker 1: is out. Total fake story. In fact, the White House
- 0:31Speaker 1: threatened to sue Politico. They immediately issued a full retraction.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Story was false. That's Politico. She gives them an interview.
- 0:40Speaker 1: She loves to just stick to the very biased places
- 0:44Speaker 1: like New York One. That's the only place she would
- 0:46Speaker 1: agree to a debate. Politico, that's who she gives the
- 0:49Speaker 1: interview to. But in this interview, she said she also
- 0:52Speaker 1: plans to run for governor in 2030. Now, remember, there's
- 0:57Speaker 1: no term limits on New York State, state jobs, attorney general, governor.
- 1:03Speaker 1: You can be... Pataki was there four terms. You can
- 1:06Speaker 1: run over and over again. So she wants to be
- 1:09Speaker 1: a four-term governor, five-term governor. Well, you can't because when
- 1:13Speaker 1: you get near third term, people start turning on you.
- 1:17Speaker 1: When you get near fourth term, it doesn't matter how
- 1:19Speaker 1: good you are. They end up hating you in the
- 1:21Speaker 1: fourth term. But she says she'll run again in 2030. Now...
- 1:27Speaker 1: I would assume that's because who the hell is going
- 1:28Speaker 1: to hire her if she got out of office? I
- 1:31Speaker 1: don't think there's any big corporations looking at her and saying,
- 1:34Speaker 1: why can't we get somebody like that to run the company?
- 1:37Speaker 1: I don't think anybody's impressed by her. Now, if you're
- 1:40Speaker 1: thinking of moving to Florida, if you're saying to yourself,
- 1:46Speaker 1: I can't go through these winters. I don't like the cold.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I want to move to Florida. Well, you better like
- 1:50Speaker 1: tropical storms. You better like hurricanes. And they got problems
- 1:55Speaker 1: down there that you'd never have up here. I mean,
- 1:57Speaker 1: you know, from everything. You got the lizards in your house.
- 2:00Speaker 1: You got alligators in your backyard. But the new problem
- 2:06Speaker 1: now hitting South Florida, they call it a king tide.
- 2:11Speaker 1: They got king tide problems. It's hitting Miami. It's hitting
- 2:15Speaker 1: Fort Lauderdale. It's hitting Broward and Miami-Dade counties. The king
- 2:21Speaker 1: tide is is the tide off the coast of Florida
- 2:25Speaker 1: has gotten so high, it's flooding the streets, flooding the cities. Oh,
- 2:30Speaker 1: I don't mean in some out-of-the-way area. I mean right
- 2:33Speaker 1: in the middle of Miami. People are sending me pictures
- 2:37Speaker 1: from Miami. Their streets are flooded under two feet of water.
- 2:41Speaker 1: It's called the King Tide. Now, they keep trying to
- 2:45Speaker 1: build new seawalls and all. It doesn't work. It's not helping.
- 2:51Speaker 1: South Florida has seen days of flooding due to these
- 2:54Speaker 1: king tides. It's where the tide comes up like a
- 2:58Speaker 1: couple of feet past normal. Add to that these strong
- 3:02Speaker 1: onshore winds. As we were talking about before, it rains
- 3:06Speaker 1: every day in Florida. Residents have been warned that this
- 3:11Speaker 1: week could be the worst. It could get worse before
- 3:14Speaker 1: it even starts to improve. King tides have surged to
- 3:18Speaker 1: record levels. Broward, Dade County in Miami. It's, uh, salt
- 3:23Speaker 1: water just floods the streets. It can be up to
- 3:26Speaker 1: two feet of salt water. It completely, uh, you know,
- 3:30Speaker 1: knocks out your car. It'll stall your car. I'm not
- 3:33Speaker 1: talking about, uh, just, you know, out of the way places.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I mean, it happened this week, Collins Avenue, mid Miami beach,
- 3:40Speaker 1: Collins Avenue flooded. Some cars stalled others, uh, climbed up
- 3:47Speaker 1: on hotel driveways trying to get to higher ground. Neighborhoods
- 3:50Speaker 1: in Fort Lauderdale have been victims of this flooding. Streets,
- 3:55Speaker 1: entire streets were underwater. People became stranded yesterday. The city
- 4:01Speaker 1: is unable to pump the water out fast enough. The
- 4:03Speaker 1: drain system isn't enough. Ocean levels are exceptionally high. There's
- 4:08Speaker 1: nowhere for the water to go. You can't pump it
- 4:10Speaker 1: back into the waterways because that just adds to the problem.
- 4:15Speaker 1: They're already elevated beyond control. Water-covered streets and yards. Some
- 4:21Speaker 1: businesses knocked out in the Riviera Isles neighborhood. People were
- 4:27Speaker 1: in boats using paddle boats to get around the streets.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You don't have these problems in there. You got a
- 4:35Speaker 1: lot of problems in Florida. I know there's no taxes,
- 4:38Speaker 1: but you got a lot of other problems. So, It's
- 4:43Speaker 1: supposed to be big news. Cheerios, the great cereal, has
- 4:47Speaker 1: made a major change in packaging. Why? In the cereal box,
- 4:52Speaker 1: when you, the cereals, you know, it's in a little plastic,
- 4:55Speaker 1: you know, it's in a bag within the box. You
- 4:58Speaker 1: pour it out and then you fold up, curl up
- 5:00Speaker 1: the top of that bag. Well, from now on, Cheerios,
- 5:03Speaker 1: they're starting this. They're going to have, when you open
- 5:05Speaker 1: up the box, the bag that's in the cereal is
- 5:09Speaker 1: going to have a Ziploc zipper at the top of it.
- 5:13Speaker 1: So you open the zipper slightly, which will create a spout.
- 5:16Speaker 1: You can pour the cereal out. And then like a
- 5:18Speaker 1: Ziploc bag, you zip it closed. It helps keep the
- 5:23Speaker 1: cereal fresh. Huh. It is 2026. You'd think they would
- 5:29Speaker 1: have thought of this somewhere in the last 50 years.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I mean, Ziploc bags have been around forever. They just
- 5:33Speaker 1: thought of this now. So it's a big improvement. It
- 5:38Speaker 1: doesn't say here anything about the price. There might be
- 5:40Speaker 1: a big improvement in the price to pay for this.
- 5:43Speaker 1: But the new packaging designed to open, create a spout.
- 5:50Speaker 1: It's designed to keep the cereal fresh. I don't know.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I like folding up the bag inside. You know, you
- 5:55Speaker 1: fold it up, fold it up, fold it up. All right.
- 5:58Speaker 1: This is probably a good idea. If it works, other
- 6:00Speaker 1: cereals will do it. You know what's a big hit
- 6:02Speaker 1: on Broadway? That Billy Crystal show. It's a one-man show
- 6:06Speaker 1: called 860. That was his address of his house in
- 6:09Speaker 1: Los Angeles. Destroyed in the fires. So he tells these
- 6:13Speaker 1: touching stories of losing his house and everything. But before
- 6:17Speaker 1: he gets to that, he takes you through his whole career.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Everybody raving. It's a great one-man show. And it's doing
- 6:24Speaker 1: so well. It's sold out completely. Took in $ 1. 2 million
- 6:28Speaker 1: this week. Now, that's huge. It's not a big Broadway musical.
- 6:33Speaker 1: It's just a straight show, one-man show. They do it
- 6:36Speaker 1: in a little smaller theater. So that's a lot of
- 6:39Speaker 1: money for a one-man show. Everybody's saying he'll get a
- 6:41Speaker 1: special Tony Award. But it's doing so well. They've extended
- 6:46Speaker 1: the run for six weeks. It's a limited run. Well,
- 6:50Speaker 1: they always do a limited run just in case it
- 6:51Speaker 1: bombs or it's not doing so well. Then they can
- 6:54Speaker 1: close and say it was always just a limited run.
- 6:56Speaker 1: But they've extended it six weeks through February 14th. Last
- 7:02Speaker 1: performance will be like the day before the Super Bowl.
- 7:04Speaker 1: So if you haven't seen it, go see it. Everybody's
- 7:07Speaker 1: raving about it. It's not Jackie Mason. That was the
- 7:10Speaker 1: single greatest one-man show in Broadway history. This show is dramatic.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It's touching. It's cute. It's funny. The Jackie Mason one-man
- 7:18Speaker 1: show was just nonstop roaring laughter for two hours. It
- 7:23Speaker 1: was the most amazing one-man show in the history of Broadway.
- 7:25Speaker 1: And ever since he did that, you may have forgotten
- 7:28Speaker 1: about this. Every comedian got so jealous. They all tried it. Remember?
- 7:33Speaker 1: You won't remember. Rodney Dangerfield tried a one-man show. It
- 7:36Speaker 1: lasted a few weeks. I can't remember all of it.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Every comedian you can think of, even Mort Saul tried it.
- 7:41Speaker 1: None of them lasted. This is the only thing that's
- 7:44Speaker 1: ever come close, this Billy Crystal show. Hey, there's going
- 7:47Speaker 1: to be a Kennedy Center Honors this year. He's saying,
- 7:50Speaker 1: he said, wait a minute, there's no Kennedy Center. How
- 7:53Speaker 1: can they do that without, well, they're going to do
- 7:56Speaker 1: it apparently anyway. Even though there's no Kennedy Center, they'll
- 8:00Speaker 1: do it December 7th. They'll do it at the Capital
- 8:02Speaker 1: One Arena in Washington. Not as elegant as the Kennedy Center, but,
- 8:08Speaker 1: you know, the Kennedy Center only holds 2,000 people. Capital
- 8:12Speaker 1: Arena is 20,000 people. They're going to announce the honorees
- 8:16Speaker 1: pretty soon. I'm hearing Liza Minnelli, Mel Gibson, names like that.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I can't remember. There's a few artists that are... Liza Minnelli,
- 8:28Speaker 1: I think, has said she will accept it. So all
- 8:33Speaker 1: day long, they have teams of Democrats, media teams and
- 8:38Speaker 1: teams of people who sit up all night trying to
- 8:40Speaker 1: figure out what could we attack Trump on? Well, they've
- 8:45Speaker 1: done the ballroom. Nobody seems to care. They do the helipad.
- 8:48Speaker 1: You know, the ballroom stuff, as our friend Jimmy Fallon
- 8:52Speaker 1: always points out, is of no interest to anybody, is
- 8:55Speaker 1: an issue. They love the ballroom. It's a great idea.
- 8:58Speaker 1: It's going to be beautiful. It's an incredible piece of luck.
- 9:02Speaker 1: You need a ballroom. You got a president who is
- 9:05Speaker 1: the country's leading expert on building ballrooms. He's built hundreds
- 9:09Speaker 1: of them all over the world. They all look spectacular.
- 9:12Speaker 1: So let him build the ballroom. He's going to spend,
- 9:15Speaker 1: I don't know, let's say it's six, 700 million. Okay.
- 9:19Speaker 1: If the government tried to build the same ballroom, it
- 9:21Speaker 1: would be 60 billion and it would take 20 years.
- 9:24Speaker 1: This is going to take a year at the most.
- 9:27Speaker 1: and it'll get it built. But the other thing he
- 9:29Speaker 1: wants to do is put a big arch in Washington, DC.
- 9:33Speaker 1: It'll look like when you go down to Washington square park,
- 9:35Speaker 1: you got a big arch there, which looks exactly like
- 9:38Speaker 1: the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, where all the big
- 9:42Speaker 1: boulevards come together. And in Paris, it's, they have these
- 9:47Speaker 1: throughout Europe. It's not just Paris. Germany has that sort of,
- 9:50Speaker 1: every great grand capital in Europe has one of these arches. So,
- 9:55Speaker 1: He thinks the Washington, D.C., the U.S. capital, should have
- 9:58Speaker 1: a big arch. And naturally, it's Trump, so it's going
- 10:01Speaker 1: to be bigger than their arches, and it's going to
- 10:03Speaker 1: have a little more gold. In fact, maybe I have
- 10:06Speaker 1: too much gold. But it looks beautiful in the drinks,
- 10:08Speaker 1: but it's big. It's very big. It's impressive if you
- 10:12Speaker 1: look at it. It's quite dramatic. But Democrats hate it
- 10:16Speaker 1: because it's Trump. Anything Trump, they don't like. anything the
- 10:20Speaker 1: Trump they hate. So they're coming up with arguments against it.
- 10:26Speaker 1: One is it's too close to Arlington. I said it's
- 10:28Speaker 1: a cemetery. So the new one is they are now
- 10:31Speaker 1: saying this arch would cast a shadow over thousands of
- 10:36Speaker 1: graves at Arlington. This is the Washington Post launching this attack.
- 10:40Speaker 1: You're going to hear about this all over CNN and MSNOW.
- 10:44Speaker 1: They'll have animations, drawings. Look how it would cast a
- 10:47Speaker 1: shadow over the graves. Now, I don't mean to be
- 10:53Speaker 1: cold about this, but is that a problem? It's a grave.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think anybody in a grave is
- 10:58Speaker 1: going to go, ooh, what the hell is that? It's
- 11:00Speaker 1: not going to blind it. I mean, and I have
- 11:02Speaker 1: a feeling the shadow is going to be for like
- 11:03Speaker 1: an hour or two a day, and that's it. But
- 11:06Speaker 1: they're yelling and screaming, this is going to be the
- 11:08Speaker 1: grave of Thurgood Marshall, of William Rehnquist, of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
- 11:16Speaker 1: To me, it's not that big a controversy. um, you know,
- 11:21Speaker 1: this cop, this awful, awful ex-cop who shot this poor guy, Irvine,
- 11:28Speaker 1: Con Ed worker, everybody who knows this guy, Irvine, who
- 11:33Speaker 1: this off-duty cop gets into road rage with him on
- 11:38Speaker 1: the George Washington bridge. Now Irvine seems to be the
- 11:41Speaker 1: nicest guy ever. He's not a guy that would drive
- 11:45Speaker 1: aggressively or anything, but You know, when you're going onto
- 11:48Speaker 1: the George Washington Bridge from the West Side Highway, you
- 11:52Speaker 1: get off the West Side Highway. Then you go on
- 11:54Speaker 1: these lanes that curl around sideways this way. It's like
- 11:57Speaker 1: the biggest curve ever. And it's three lanes. And it's
- 12:01Speaker 1: very confusing. I mean, it's so fast. And then one
- 12:05Speaker 1: sign says lower level this way, upper level this lane,
- 12:09Speaker 1: cross Bronx this lane. So sometimes you're like in the
- 12:12Speaker 1: wrong lane. You have to suddenly switch lanes. That's probably
- 12:15Speaker 1: what happened. They think that Irvine cut this ex-cop off. Now, again,
- 12:21Speaker 1: he's not a guy that would do that deliberately. So
- 12:23Speaker 1: they think that something like that happened. Anyway, you can
- 12:26Speaker 1: see in the surveillance video that Irvine is being now
- 12:30Speaker 1: chased by this ex-cop. He's tailgating him, flashing his lights
- 12:33Speaker 1: at him, chasing him. And this ex-cop goes so crazy
- 12:37Speaker 1: with road rage, pulls up alongside him, takes out his gun,
- 12:42Speaker 1: shoots into the car, kills Irvine. It is the most
- 12:45Speaker 1: terrible thing in the world. Everybody says this. Irvine, a
- 12:48Speaker 1: Con Ed worker for 20 years, is the most beloved,
- 12:52Speaker 1: wonderful family man. So this ex-cop, Romero, has to go
- 12:59Speaker 1: to court the other day. And I guess because he's
- 13:02Speaker 1: an ex-cop, the court officers took care of him, snuck
- 13:05Speaker 1: him into the courthouse through the garage or something. So
- 13:08Speaker 1: reporters never got to see him. He had to return
- 13:11Speaker 1: to court this time, and I guess the court officers
- 13:13Speaker 1: were afraid the pull any favors this time. So he
- 13:17Speaker 1: did come out of his car on the street and
- 13:18Speaker 1: everybody got pictures of him. The other thing about Romero
- 13:23Speaker 1: is when they found out his name, they went to
- 13:27Speaker 1: the internet and every single thing about him had been
- 13:31Speaker 1: scrubbed off the internet. You could not find a picture
- 13:33Speaker 1: or anything about this guy on the internet. Now, you know,
- 13:36Speaker 1: we have that sponsor Incogni. You can hire companies like that.
- 13:39Speaker 1: They will get every piece of information off the internet
- 13:42Speaker 1: for you, of you. So he obviously used a service
- 13:45Speaker 1: like that. He works for a big financial company. I'm
- 13:50Speaker 1: sure they have somebody who knows how to do all
- 13:52Speaker 1: that stuff or a company they use. And he worked
- 13:55Speaker 1: for a big financial company. He was the driver for
- 13:58Speaker 1: the CEO. In fact, when he did this shooting, he
- 14:02Speaker 1: was in the company car, the Range Rover. So for
- 14:08Speaker 1: whatever reason, our crazy district attorney, although he downgrades charges
- 14:11Speaker 1: all the time, Instead of murder, he downgraded it to manslaughter. Well,
- 14:16Speaker 1: yesterday in court, they rose it back up to murder.
- 14:20Speaker 1: It should be murder. It's not manslaughter. I mean, it's
- 14:23Speaker 1: out and out murder. Out and out murder. Irvine's family,
- 14:26Speaker 1: friends were there. They were so angry, and who can
- 14:30Speaker 1: blame them? Where's Governor Kathy Hochul? Where's Mondani? Where's my
- 14:35Speaker 1: condolences for my family? I'm pissed off. Yeah, well, I mean,
- 14:39Speaker 1: that's just a sample, but... And they're absolutely right. So
- 14:43Speaker 1: this cop, I mean, how can you not convict this guy?
- 14:47Speaker 1: How's he not going to get convicted? What's his defense?
- 14:50Speaker 1: I had no idea. Anyways, it's just a terrible story.
- 14:54Speaker 1: We'll take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number. If
- 14:56Speaker 1: you're a new caller, we love hearing from you. 800-321-0710.
