Lucas: You did great. Today, we're going to the post office to send a package. Luna: Oh, that's useful. I've sent postcards but never a package in Denmark. Lucas: Let's start with the main phrase. When you walk up to the counter, you say: Jeg vil gerne sende en pakke. Luna: Jeg vil gerne sende en pakke. Lucas: That's it. Jeg vil gerne sende en pakke. Means 'I want to send a package.' Luna: Jeg vil gerne sende en pakke. Let me try again. Jeg vil gerne sende en pakke. Lucas: Perfect. Now the next question they might ask is: Hvad vejer pakken? 'What does the package weigh?' Luna: Hvad vejer pakken? That's a bit tricky. Hvad vejer pakken? Lucas: You got it. Hvad vejer pakken? Luna: If I don't know the weight, I could just say 'I don't know'? That's 'Jeg ved det ikke.' Lucas: Yes, exactly. But usually you'd have it on a scale. Or you can ask them to weigh it. Luna: Right. So next I'd ask about the cost: Hvor meget koster det? Lucas: Hvor meget koster det? 'How much does it cost?' Luna: Hvor meget koster det? That's one we've used before, but it's always good to repeat. Lucas: Yeah. And if you want a receipt, say: Jeg vil gerne have en kvittering. Luna: Kvittering. That's a long word. Jeg vil gerne have en kvittering. Lucas: Kvittering. You said it well. 'I want a receipt.' Luna: And finally, if I want to know delivery time: Hvor lang tid tager det? Lucas: Hvor lang tid tager det? 'How long does it take?' Luna: Hvor lang tid tager det? That's a bit of a mouthful. Hvor lang tid tager det? Lucas: You're doing great. Let's put it all together in a mini conversation. Imagine you're at the post office. Luna: Okay, I'll be me. I walk up and say: Jeg vil gerne sende en pakke. Lucas: Then the clerk asks: Hvad vejer pakken? Luna: I say: Jeg ved det ikke. And then I ask: Hvor meget koster det? Lucas: The clerk gives a price. Then you say: Jeg vil gerne have en kvittering. Luna: And finally: Hvor lang tid tager det? Lucas: Perfect. That's a full interaction. Now, let's practice the phrases once more together.
