- 0:08Speaker 2: Well, Howie Carr, the great talk show host and author
- 0:11Speaker 2: and columnists. You can get his show and everything on iHeart.
- 0:15Speaker 2: You can get his latest book, Mass Corruption. It's on Amazon,
- 0:19Speaker 2: or you can get everything at Howie carrsshow dot com,
- 0:22Speaker 2: Howiecarshow dot com, Howie Carr, how you doing.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Very good?
- 0:28Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to the to what Al Sharpton called
- 0:32Speaker 3: the UFO fights on the White House Alarm on Saturday night. Now,
- 0:38Speaker 3: you know, the networks have a hard time TV networks
- 0:41Speaker 3: with getting people to watch, especially on the weekends, but
- 0:45Speaker 3: I think this UFO fight is going to be on CPS.
- 0:48Speaker 3: I mean, this could be record breaking all time records
- 0:52Speaker 3: for ratings, don't you think.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, Democrats don't like any like think whatever Middle
- 0:58Speaker 2: America likes. Democrat that's hate. Whether it's NASCAR or Ultimate
- 1:04Speaker 2: Fighting Wrestling, they don't like that kind of stuff.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Yeah, we haven't had a good Al Sharpton cut to
- 1:09Speaker 3: add to the real for a while, but this is
- 1:11Speaker 3: one today. I'll play it about eight million times from
- 1:14Speaker 3: my show this afternoon.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Yeah, so hey, you're watching these Scott Pelly interviews. Is
- 1:21Speaker 2: this the most pompous, self important jackass you've ever seen.
- 1:26Speaker 3: I you know, he took so much crap when he
- 1:29Speaker 3: first said last week that he was a combat vet.
- 1:33Speaker 3: And then after taking all the grief he said, he
- 1:36Speaker 3: comes out and says it again and then compares himself
- 1:39Speaker 3: to President Trump. President Trump wasn't in the military, but.
- 1:43Speaker 1: He got shot. He actually got shot in the head.
- 1:47Speaker 3: And this guy is saying he's braver, basically saying he's
- 1:50Speaker 3: braver than President Trump. I mean, give me, you're right,
- 1:56Speaker 3: I mean, this guy is this guy is you know,
- 1:59Speaker 3: worse than Ted Ted Knight at least made you laugh.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Ron Berg made you laugh. I mean, this guy is
- 2:06Speaker 3: just a fool. And then he said he didn't know
- 2:08Speaker 3: he was going to get fired. He started at local
- 2:10Speaker 3: TV news. You know, when I worked in local TV news,
- 2:13Speaker 3: we had a higher body count than any mafia crime family.
- 2:17Speaker 3: He said he didn't think he could happen to him.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I mean, give me a break. This guy is a fool.
- 2:24Speaker 3: And then he's from Texas and he takes a picture
- 2:26Speaker 3: of himself out on his sailboat. I think he's trying
- 2:28Speaker 3: to pass for one of the beautiful people of.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Mark Oh yeah, I think he thinks he's a Kennedy
- 2:32Speaker 2: now with that sale vote.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, And he and does he not understand what
- 2:40Speaker 3: all the rest of America understands, which is, if it
- 2:43Speaker 3: wasn't for the NFL, if Trump didn't put his foot
- 2:46Speaker 3: down and the NFL were to go to streaming, there
- 2:49Speaker 3: would be no sixty Minutes.
- 2:50Speaker 1: There probably wouldn't be any of these works would be
- 2:53Speaker 1: left anyway.
- 2:54Speaker 3: And he and he seems to think that that you
- 2:57Speaker 3: know that the people are tuning in, I'd like to
- 2:58Speaker 3: see a poll mark. Would be impossible to do it.
- 3:02Speaker 3: But how many people to watch NFL games know who
- 3:05Speaker 3: Scott Pelly is? Probably like ten fifty. How many people
- 3:08Speaker 3: who don't watch NFL games know who Scott Pelly is?
- 3:11Speaker 1: I'm going to guess like one who was watching sixty Minutes.
- 3:16Speaker 2: You know, they fired Tanya Simon. She's the daughter of
- 3:18Speaker 2: the former sixty Minutes correspondent Bob Simmon. So he actually
- 3:22Speaker 2: says in an interview, how could they fire her? She's
- 3:25Speaker 2: untouchable with her family history. Who's untouchable?
- 3:31Speaker 1: Right? Right? Again?
- 3:33Speaker 3: What universe of any any kind of industry, but especially
- 3:38Speaker 3: the broadcast TV news industry is he is he working in.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Apparently one of the guys they fired last month was
- 3:45Speaker 3: this guy who produced the Chevron, the discredited Chevron, the
- 3:52Speaker 3: thing that they did. He was the reported you know
- 3:54Speaker 3: about this, This this lawyer sued Chevron for eighteen billion
- 3:59Speaker 3: dollars for recording some rainforest in Ecuador, and it turned
- 4:02Speaker 3: out he was blackmailing people and concocting evidence.
- 4:06Speaker 1: He was convicted of federal crimes. This barred. The story
- 4:09Speaker 1: is still up on the sixty minutes website like they're
- 4:12Speaker 1: proud of it.
- 4:14Speaker 2: But he is delusional. You know, they fired Walter Cronkite.
- 4:17Speaker 2: If if they can fire him, you can fire Scott Belly.
- 4:22Speaker 3: And then he said he also said last week in
- 4:25Speaker 3: another interview, he said, they they threw me off the
- 4:29Speaker 3: CBS Evening News because I was complaining of a hostile
- 4:34Speaker 3: work environment again Mark, you know, I mean I've worked
- 4:37Speaker 3: in local TV news. We have when your ratings are
- 4:41Speaker 3: lower than whale excrement, there tends to be a hostile
- 4:45Speaker 3: work environment around the around the news room.
- 4:48Speaker 1: You know.
- 4:50Speaker 3: You know he's again Ted Baxter was, you know, a
- 4:54Speaker 3: master of the universe. You know, he understood everything that
- 4:57Speaker 3: was going on around him compared to this guy. He
- 5:00Speaker 3: really believes this stuff, doesn't he does? He also understand
- 5:05Speaker 3: that he's never going to work again. That the best
- 5:07Speaker 3: he can hope for us to maybe co host the
- 5:09Speaker 3: gem Acosta Joy Read UH podcast.
- 5:14Speaker 2: You don't think uh ms now or CNN will go
- 5:16Speaker 2: after him?
- 5:18Speaker 1: You know?
- 5:19Speaker 3: You know what that was funny, the you know, with
- 5:21Speaker 3: Trump stomping off the set of UH, Meet the Press,
- 5:25Speaker 3: Meet the Press yesterday and he and then he says,
- 5:28Speaker 3: you're all crooked, and then he says ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN,
- 5:32Speaker 3: and then and then I'm sure I'm sure Larry O'Donnell
- 5:35Speaker 3: and those guys were saying.
- 5:36Speaker 1: What about us? Where is the other ones?
- 5:39Speaker 3: Why did he mention us? We have we have higher
- 5:43Speaker 3: ratings than CNN? There they also ran crooked network.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Uh yeah, but that fight with Kristin Walker, another delusional woman.
- 5:52Speaker 2: She's interrupting him, she's screaming with that you have no evidence.
- 5:55Speaker 2: She has no evidence either. What do you think they
- 5:59Speaker 2: have any self awareness? These anchors?
- 6:02Speaker 3: Well, I was kind of amused when she said I
- 6:05Speaker 3: came all the way out here to Wisconsin, and.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I mean, did she I mean, I know, I guess
- 6:10Speaker 1: you have to say that but did she not understand
- 6:12Speaker 1: that this was like the.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Best thing that ever happened to her and walking off
- 6:16Speaker 3: the set this kind of gave her Jimmy Kimmel inoculation
- 6:20Speaker 3: for being fired.
- 6:23Speaker 2: That's a good point. Hey, what's going to happen with Platner?
- 6:27Speaker 2: I thought he'd be out of the race by now.
- 6:29Speaker 2: They're really going to stick with him.
- 6:32Speaker 1: I don't.
- 6:32Speaker 3: I mean, I think he's going to win the primary,
- 6:34Speaker 3: even though he's really dusted up, you know.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I I.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Because you know, Janet Mills has it stepped in and
- 6:41Speaker 3: maybe she maybe she made the right move by not
- 6:43Speaker 3: stepping in. But I think I think he's got real
- 6:46Speaker 3: problems with this kick app, you know. And I mean
- 6:50Speaker 3: the fact that John Fetterman is challenging him, and now
- 6:53Speaker 3: the the editor of the main Wire who used to
- 6:57Speaker 3: work for me, that's the alternative conservative website. He's he's saying, well,
- 7:02Speaker 3: you know, if you can prove you didn't, you weren't
- 7:04Speaker 3: sending these these X rated messages to underage girls. I'll
- 7:08Speaker 3: apologize to you for saying your your lobster you excuse me,
- 7:12Speaker 3: your oyster farm is a is a joke.
- 7:16Speaker 2: He was an oyster farmer, but apparently only for one day,
- 7:20Speaker 2: and that was just for his mother's restaurant, right, he
- 7:22Speaker 2: didn't really.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Do it for well he also you know, I guess
- 7:25Speaker 3: what I guess what Steve said on Fox last week
- 7:29Speaker 3: was he he set up he incorporated the quote unquote
- 7:33Speaker 3: oyster farm after he set up his campaign committee to
- 7:38Speaker 3: run for the Senate.
- 7:39Speaker 1: And that's true, that's true.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I mean, it's just I mean I talked to you know,
- 7:43Speaker 3: I have a huge audience at Maine, and I mean,
- 7:46Speaker 3: you know, people are irritated because you know, when someone
- 7:50Speaker 3: says they're working class, you you take them at their words,
- 7:53Speaker 3: at least for a few minutes. Right, But this guy
- 7:57Speaker 3: is the furthest thing for he's as far from the
- 7:59Speaker 3: working class as uh as Scott Pelley is from a
- 8:03Speaker 3: from a crusading journalist.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah so, uh but when when if you were the
- 8:10Speaker 2: Democratic leaders, wouldn't you pull this guy out and sticking
- 8:12Speaker 2: Janet Mills the governor?
- 8:16Speaker 1: I think I think Jared Golden would actually be better.
- 8:19Speaker 3: You know, the congressman up there who sometimes votes with Republicans.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I mean he he has tattoos market but not no
- 8:26Speaker 1: Nazi tattoos.
- 8:27Speaker 3: So maybe that maybe that makes him a non starter
- 8:30Speaker 3: for the Democrat national big wigs.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I don't know, but he doesn't like Washington and he's
- 8:36Speaker 1: leaving Congress. He's he's quit. But you know he would
- 8:39Speaker 1: be better.
- 8:40Speaker 3: I mean because Jannam Mills is really damaged goods. I
- 8:43Speaker 3: think that's that's that's why. You know, Plattner got all
- 8:48Speaker 3: this traction. But I don't understand it. You know, Platner
- 8:51Speaker 3: and tallar Rico and this this weird this Egyptian from Michigan,
- 8:57Speaker 3: I mean, and and the Hamaway whatever his name is,
- 9:00Speaker 3: from a Jersey.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I mean, what are they thinking of?
- 9:05Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, we don't much time left. But you're a
- 9:07Speaker 2: best selling author. You would done a number of best
- 9:09Speaker 2: selling books. How would you rate Jill Biden as an
- 9:13Speaker 2: author trying to sell a book, trying to launch a book,
- 9:17Speaker 2: they'll roll out not too smooth.
- 9:19Speaker 1: No, I think with all these people's it's just the advance.
- 9:24Speaker 3: They never you know, the advance just becomes a payoff
- 9:27Speaker 3: from some publisher for you know, services rendered down the road.
- 9:31Speaker 3: How about Joe Biden saying that he's got his book,
- 9:33Speaker 3: he's coming out in September. Everybody's saying, no, it's not no,
- 9:37Speaker 3: it's not. I mean that wouldn't that be great? A
- 9:39Speaker 3: great in kind contribution to the Republicans for the midterms
- 9:43Speaker 3: that Joe Biden talking about what he remembered to be
- 9:47Speaker 3: a mighty short book if it's what he remembers from
- 9:49Speaker 3: his from his years in at sixteen hundred Pennsylvania Avenue.
