- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven r Boy. The Mark Simoon Show starts now.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Well Thursday already. Well, we had one last ninety degree day.
- 0:14Speaker 1: It's gonna be like ninety to day, then back to
- 0:16Speaker 1: normal temperatures after today. We got a lot to get to.
- 0:20Speaker 1: We'll get to Iran. We'll get to the war, we'll
- 0:23Speaker 1: get to the Pope. We'll get to Mom. Donnie is
- 0:27Speaker 1: doing some stuff that is so crazy dumb that people
- 0:32Speaker 1: are starting to really wonder what the hell of this
- 0:34Speaker 1: guy's all about. We'll get to crazy Kathy Hokeel. We'll
- 0:38Speaker 1: get to live Nation ticket prices. We'll get to mel Brooks.
- 0:45Speaker 1: We'll get to a whole lot more that could be
- 0:47Speaker 1: a Doorman strike. Lots to talk about today, we'll get
- 0:51Speaker 1: to all of that coming up. So just the latest
- 0:53Speaker 1: on Iran. The blockade is in progress. It's very very
- 0:58Speaker 1: very successful. Twenty ships were allowed in through the blockade.
- 1:04Speaker 1: The US turned away thirteen ships. Actually, that's how good
- 1:07Speaker 1: the blockade is. They didn't have to even turn them away.
- 1:10Speaker 1: They saw the blockade and turned around and got the
- 1:12Speaker 1: hell out of there. The blockade is about a dozen
- 1:16Speaker 1: major major ships and US Navy ships, many dozens of aircraft,
- 1:22Speaker 1: about ten thousand people work on this blockade. US military
- 1:27Speaker 1: Admiral Cooper, who is running Sentcom he was there in
- 1:30Speaker 1: the Middle East, went to inspect everything personally, talked to
- 1:33Speaker 1: the troops, said de morale is very high. Troops are
- 1:37Speaker 1: doing really well. So the blockade is in effect. There
- 1:40Speaker 1: will be talks resuming at some point. President Trump on
- 1:45Speaker 1: the blockade.
- 1:45Speaker 2: It's been pretty amazing. Actually, I thought that was going
- 1:48Speaker 2: to happen. They reacted to this even I think was,
- 1:52Speaker 2: you know, we've obliterated them, and this almost seems to
- 1:55Speaker 2: be more of a reaction than we had before. I
- 1:58Speaker 2: think it's close to ovie. I view, it is very
- 2:00Speaker 2: close to over. You know what, if I pulled up
- 2:04Speaker 2: stakes right now, it would take them twenty years to
- 2:07Speaker 2: rebuild that country. And we're not finished. We'll see what happens.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I think they want to make it deal very badly.
- 2:14Speaker 1: You might be saying, what's wrong with this voice? He
- 2:16Speaker 1: sounds worse. Yeah, he is. In fact, this is Maria
- 2:19Speaker 1: Bartiromo interviewing him. She said, well, you're very horse what happened,
- 2:23Speaker 1: and he actually said, yeah, it's my fault. He goes,
- 2:27Speaker 1: I was yelling at people. I was yelling at some
- 2:29Speaker 1: really stupid people. I was yelling at them and that's
- 2:31Speaker 1: my voice is worse. But things are going very well.
- 2:36Speaker 1: The blockade will continue, Talks will resume. I ran through
- 2:40Speaker 1: third parties is asking to get back to the bargaining table.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Now this will be a whole different kind of bargaining.
- 2:48Speaker 1: This negotiation will be a lot different. The straits are closed.
- 2:51Speaker 1: We closed them, and that changes everything. The only leverage
- 2:56Speaker 1: they had was the Straits of horn molest Now we've
- 2:58Speaker 1: closed them and it's doing them damage and doing us
- 3:01Speaker 1: no harm at all. In fact, we make money with
- 3:04Speaker 1: the straits closed because countries can't get any oil out
- 3:07Speaker 1: of there, so they're forced to come to us to
- 3:08Speaker 1: buy oil. But with the straits closed, Iran loses four
- 3:12Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty million a day, four hundred and
- 3:16Speaker 1: fifty million a day, that's something like fifteen billion a month.
- 3:20Speaker 1: So with the straits closed, we've basically cut off all
- 3:24Speaker 1: of Iran's revenue. We've basically seized their assets. So they
- 3:30Speaker 1: are in real, real trouble with the straates closed. This
- 3:32Speaker 1: will make bargaining entirely different this time. It was a
- 3:36Speaker 1: very upsetting day yesterday for Democrats. Look at their Schumer
- 3:40Speaker 1: on TV, he looks so miserable. Look at him. Just
- 3:43Speaker 1: put him on suicide watch. Look how miserable he looks.
- 3:45Speaker 1: No reason he's so miserable. Is the blockade is working.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Iran is begging to come back to the bargaining table.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And this is the one that really killed these Democrats. Yesterday,
- 3:54Speaker 1: yesterday the stock market hit an all time high record
- 3:59Speaker 1: high the stock market the Tao, not the Tao, but
- 4:03Speaker 1: the more important measure, the broader measure of the market,
- 4:06Speaker 1: is the S and P five hundred. The Tao is
- 4:09Speaker 1: a handful of stocks. The S and P five hundred
- 4:12Speaker 1: is the whole thing. S and P five hundred yesterday,
- 4:15Speaker 1: at the end of the day hit an all time high,
- 4:19Speaker 1: highest number on the stock market ever in history. An
- 4:22Speaker 1: incredible turnaround. Look at Schumer, he looks suicidal now. He
- 4:26Speaker 1: just looks so upset about this. Even on the network news,
- 4:30Speaker 1: I mean, that's quite a story. The stock market hits
- 4:32Speaker 1: the highest level ever in history. They had to bury that,
- 4:36Speaker 1: They had to make it story number like fourteen in
- 4:38Speaker 1: the newscast. But you know, for weeks and weeks and
- 4:42Speaker 1: weeks and weeks, we've had Democrats telling you that the
- 4:45Speaker 1: Iran war has destroyed us. Look at the stock market,
- 4:47Speaker 1: it's way down. Remember we went to the same thing
- 4:49Speaker 1: with tariffs. There was a plunge in the stock market
- 4:52Speaker 1: this time and with the tariffs, and it not only
- 4:55Speaker 1: came back, it came back bigger and better than ever.
- 4:58Speaker 1: And after the tariff it then set a new all
- 5:01Speaker 1: time record. And after this plunge, it just set a
- 5:04Speaker 1: new all time record again yesterday. So you know, all
- 5:07Speaker 1: these things that democrats yell and scream about, they all
- 5:10Speaker 1: go away in a couple of weeks. And I don't know,
- 5:12Speaker 1: it's a fascinating These democrats aren't stupid, they're not stupid people,
- 5:16Speaker 1: But they can't seem to figure out the pattern that
- 5:19Speaker 1: every time this stuff happens, three weeks later, it's forgotten about.
- 5:22Speaker 1: So stop making such an issue out of it. Same
- 5:25Speaker 1: thing's going to happen with the pope. And look at
- 5:28Speaker 1: these look at these stories. Oh, here's a story about
- 5:32Speaker 1: how the fact that the president started a feud with
- 5:36Speaker 1: the pope, the fact that he attacked the pope, the
- 5:38Speaker 1: fact that he got into a war with the pope,
- 5:40Speaker 1: this is going to kill him once and for all.
- 5:44Speaker 1: This story is from twenty sixteen. It's ten years old.
- 5:48Speaker 1: This is when he had to fight with Pope Francis.
- 5:50Speaker 1: He wasn't elected yet, he was running. He was in
- 5:52Speaker 1: the South Carolina primary. They said, this is it. He's finished. Remember,
- 5:56Speaker 1: Pope Francis attacked him. This is when Trump was campaigning
- 5:59Speaker 1: on building a wall and Pope Francis. These popes can
- 6:03Speaker 1: be incredibly wrong when they discuss political stuff. The Pope said,
- 6:08Speaker 1: any person who builds a wall, whoever they may be,
- 6:13Speaker 1: is not a Christian. If you're building walls and nutbridges,
- 6:16Speaker 1: you are not a Christian. Well, first of all, they
- 6:20Speaker 1: have a huge wall around the Vatican. The Pope has,
- 6:23Speaker 1: if you've been to the Vatican, is a big, huge wall.
- 6:27Speaker 1: And the you know, we love the Pope, but he
- 6:30Speaker 1: has no right to say something like that's crazy. And
- 6:32Speaker 1: Trump fired back. At the time, this is in twenty sixteen,
- 6:36Speaker 1: he said, for a religious leader, the question of person's
- 6:38Speaker 1: faith is disgraceful. Well, he's right, that's a good comment.
- 6:42Speaker 1: But then you know, all hell broke. Lucia can't attack
- 6:45Speaker 1: the pope. You can't fight with the pope. And then
- 6:47Speaker 1: Trump says, you know, if and when the Vatican is
- 6:49Speaker 1: attacked by Isis, which everyone knows is They're ultimate target.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I can promise you the Pope would have hoped that
- 6:56Speaker 1: Donald Trump is president to help defend things. So fake
- 6:59Speaker 1: news went crazy. So that was twenty sixteen. Not only
- 7:03Speaker 1: did it not affect the election. The next day he
- 7:06Speaker 1: won the South Carolina primary, a big Catholic state. But
- 7:09Speaker 1: so again, twenty sixteen, big fight with the Pope. Three
- 7:14Speaker 1: weeks later everybody forgot about it. So now new fight
- 7:17Speaker 1: with the Pope. Here's all the left wing, the real
- 7:21Speaker 1: left wing fake news like New York Times. In this
- 7:24Speaker 1: Pope Trump faces a different kind of opponent. This is
- 7:28Speaker 1: a different kind of opponent. And then there's you ever
- 7:31Speaker 1: read Vox Media. That's a real, real left wing publication.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Vox says, this time Donald Trump messed with the wrong pope.
- 7:42Speaker 1: He may have fought with Francis before, but Leo is
- 7:46Speaker 1: a tougher foil New York Times. Leo has incredible support
- 7:52Speaker 1: from a broad swathe of conservative Catholics. Now, I who
- 7:56Speaker 1: said that a lot of Catholics not too thrilled that
- 7:58Speaker 1: they got a left wing, woke pope. In fact, remember
- 8:02Speaker 1: when Leo became pope, he had to delete his Twitter.
- 8:07Speaker 1: He had for a long time had a Twitter account
- 8:09Speaker 1: which had a lot of left wing stuff, a lot
- 8:12Speaker 1: of angry left wing stuff, a lot of Trump bashing
- 8:15Speaker 1: was on his Twitter. When he became pope, he had
- 8:17Speaker 1: to delete the whole account. So but you know it's
- 8:20Speaker 1: not again, a pope should never ever be questioning anybody's
- 8:24Speaker 1: faith like that. Now. JD. Vance was not for going
- 8:28Speaker 1: after the pope, but you know, as he usually does,
- 8:31Speaker 1: he quickly got on board. But here's JD. Vance on
- 8:33Speaker 1: the Pope yesterday.
- 8:34Speaker 3: How can you say that God is never on the
- 8:36Speaker 3: side of those who willed the sword? Was God on
- 8:39Speaker 3: the side of the Americans who liberated France from the Nazis?
- 8:44Speaker 3: Was God on the side of the Americans who liberated
- 8:47Speaker 3: Holocaust camps and liberated those those innocent people from you know,
- 8:51Speaker 3: those who had survived the Holocaust.
- 8:53Speaker 1: He's got a point. If you weren't allowed to ever
- 8:55Speaker 1: do this stuff, then you'd have to let Hitler take
- 8:58Speaker 1: over everything. You would have had to let Russia take Ukraine,
- 9:02Speaker 1: if you're not allowed to stand up to evil. He's
- 9:05Speaker 1: got a very very good point there. So again this
- 9:09Speaker 1: will all be forgotten about come back in a month,
- 9:11Speaker 1: nobody will remember anything about the Pope. Nobody will remember
- 9:13Speaker 1: anything about a Jesus picture. It turns out that Trump
- 9:18Speaker 1: was in Miami and the guy who's the head of
- 9:23Speaker 1: Federal Housing Finance commit I forget his name is Bill Pluth.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Apparently he showed him this Jesus meme of Trump. This
- 9:32Speaker 1: was going all over the internet. Apparently he showed it
- 9:34Speaker 1: to Trump. Trump thought it was funny, and basically that's
- 9:37Speaker 1: one of the reasons he played. Just thought it was cute, funny,
- 9:39Speaker 1: but all hell broke loose. Turns out even Mike Johnson,
- 9:43Speaker 1: Speaker of the House, he called Trump personally and asked
- 9:46Speaker 1: him to take down the Jesus thing. That probably had
- 9:49Speaker 1: more influence on him than anything else. Hey, people are
- 9:53Speaker 1: starting to worry about mom Donnie's mental health. You know,
- 9:57Speaker 1: the fact that he's a crazy socialist. Okay, that's a
- 9:59Speaker 1: lot of left wing idiots. The fact that he's an
- 10:03Speaker 1: anti Semite. I hate to say it, but that's a
- 10:05Speaker 1: lot of the left wing right now. Disgusting as it is.
- 10:08Speaker 1: It's it's a terrible thing on the on the democratic side,
- 10:13Speaker 1: but he's starting to look absolutely nuts. This supermarket thing.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Even people in the supermarket industry are stunned at how
- 10:23Speaker 1: stupid this guy is. He's talking about building his first supermarket.
- 10:28Speaker 1: He wants to do five, one in each borough. The
- 10:30Speaker 1: first one is going to be an absolute dump. If
- 10:34Speaker 1: you look at the pictures of where it is, it's
- 10:36Speaker 1: in East Harlem, in this something called La Marquette or something.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It's a sort of a little court with a lot
- 10:42Speaker 1: of shops, really dumpy looking. The city owns it. There's
- 10:49Speaker 1: if you're going to put the supermarket there. If the
- 10:51Speaker 1: city's gonna put a supermarket, it will have no rent,
- 10:54Speaker 1: no taxes, no expense, simple thing to open. And I
- 10:59Speaker 1: think about that. You have to pay no taxes, no rent, nothing,
- 11:03Speaker 1: you don't have to worry about permits, you don't have
- 11:04Speaker 1: to worry about any of that. It's going to cost
- 11:08Speaker 1: thirty million dollars thirty million. Now, remember telling you yesterday.
- 11:14Speaker 1: When you build a supermarket and put a supermarket in somewhere,
- 11:18Speaker 1: you know, you buy a store or a big space
- 11:20Speaker 1: and you put a super it costs one million, maybe
- 11:23Speaker 1: two million. If you went all out and went crazy
- 11:25Speaker 1: spending money, it would cost you three million. The supermarket chain,
- 11:30Speaker 1: all the big supermarket chain in a market. They just
- 11:32Speaker 1: came into Manhattan to build a supermarket and they built
- 11:35Speaker 1: a really I mean fancy, way beyond, way beyond what
- 11:38Speaker 1: Mam Donnie was talking about. They built a real serious,
- 11:42Speaker 1: very very very high end supermarket. You know what, it
- 11:45Speaker 1: costs three million? It's three million, and that's what paying taxes,
- 11:50Speaker 1: paying rent and paying for permits, paying for lobbyists, paying
- 11:53Speaker 1: for a three million So how on earth could this
- 11:57Speaker 1: cost thirty million? And this is not going to look
- 11:59Speaker 1: like This is not gonna look like Wegmans, this is
- 12:03Speaker 1: not gonna look like Morton Williams. This is going to
- 12:04Speaker 1: be a real plain dump. How the hell could it
- 12:10Speaker 1: be thirty million dollars? So it should be about one million. Really,
- 12:14Speaker 1: actually it should be about seven hundred thousand, since they'll
- 12:17Speaker 1: pay no rent, no taxes, no any But let's say
- 12:19Speaker 1: it costs a million, where's the other twenty nine million going? Now?
- 12:24Speaker 1: It could be that this guy is just totally corrupt
- 12:27Speaker 1: and he's a real sleevez ball politician. But he looks
- 12:31Speaker 1: just like an awful, terrible guy. But he doesn't look corrupt.
- 12:34Speaker 1: He's from a wealthy family. He's never been too interested
- 12:38Speaker 1: in material things. I don't think he's corrupt. It could
- 12:41Speaker 1: just be contracts you're going to hand out to fellow Democrats.
- 12:45Speaker 1: You know, one reason that these politics, the two reasons
- 12:48Speaker 1: that the politicians hand out these contracts. If something you know,
- 12:51Speaker 1: like that Kennedy Airport or the Guardi Airport terminal costs
- 12:55Speaker 1: twenty billion one terminal, it should have cost one billion,
- 12:59Speaker 1: it costs bill where'd the other nineteen billion go? Well,
- 13:02Speaker 1: you hand out contracts a lots of people, lots of Now,
- 13:08Speaker 1: there's two reasons you hand him out. Most of the time,
- 13:10Speaker 1: it's to get donations. You give out these big contracts
- 13:14Speaker 1: of these contractors and unions and all that, and in exchange,
- 13:19Speaker 1: they donate massive amounts of money to your campaign or
- 13:23Speaker 1: your political pack. Sometimes it's corruption you get a little
- 13:27Speaker 1: kickback out of it, but usually it's just for So
- 13:29Speaker 1: it could be that's what mom Donnie's doing. He wants
- 13:32Speaker 1: to run again, wants to get reelected, and by handing
- 13:36Speaker 1: out twenty nine million in contracts that you don't even
- 13:39Speaker 1: need to hand out, he could put together an incredible
- 13:43Speaker 1: war chest. So then they're talking about taxing the rich
- 13:47Speaker 1: even more. Right now, the rich pays all the taxes
- 13:49Speaker 1: not all, but they have what kind of all of it?
- 13:52Speaker 1: The top one percent pays like a forty eight percent
- 13:55Speaker 1: of the tax. The top ten percent pays ninety two
- 13:58Speaker 1: percent of the tax. Right now, wealthy, the real rich,
- 14:01Speaker 1: pay most of the taxes, most of the taxes. No,
- 14:05Speaker 1: Mam Donni wants to charge him even more. He and
- 14:08Speaker 1: hokel have come up with this piea tear tax. That means,
- 14:10Speaker 1: if you're very wealthy, you live somewhere else, but you
- 14:13Speaker 1: decide I'll have an apartment in New York too, and
- 14:16Speaker 1: you buy yourself a big, beautiful apartment just to use
- 14:18Speaker 1: when you come into New York. They want to tax
- 14:20Speaker 1: the hell out of you. It's absolutely insane. The problem
- 14:27Speaker 1: is Hochel, Mam Donnie really stupid when it comes to
- 14:32Speaker 1: anything to do with money, business, management, finances. There's a
- 14:36Speaker 1: simple rule, our greatest economist, Art Laugher simple rule. If
- 14:41Speaker 1: you tax something more, you get less of it. So
- 14:44Speaker 1: if you want less of something, just tax it more. So,
- 14:47Speaker 1: if you tax the wealthy on buying New York apartments,
- 14:50Speaker 1: they'll just stop buying New York apartments. You'll get less
- 14:53Speaker 1: of it. Hochel, you know they got this budget gap
- 14:57Speaker 1: because the budget is it's like ten million percent more
- 15:01Speaker 1: than it should be. You just cut the budget in half.
- 15:03Speaker 1: It's easy to do. But they can't figure that out,
- 15:06Speaker 1: so they keep trying to raise money. She's got this
- 15:08Speaker 1: dumb pieta tear at tax.
- 15:10Speaker 4: It is not a tax on residence that is so important.
- 15:13Speaker 4: We're talking about people who are ultra wealthy. I mean
- 15:17Speaker 4: there are literally Russian oligarchs buying up properties, driving up
- 15:23Speaker 4: the property values. As I've said, I'm clearly not entertaining
- 15:27Speaker 4: income taxes or corporate taxes.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Full stop, yeah, full stop. Again, you'll get less of it. Now,
- 15:34Speaker 1: what happens? First of all, if these oligarchs come in
- 15:37Speaker 1: here and buy these apartments, and when they say piet
- 15:39Speaker 1: to tear, it's not a three hundred thousand dollars. Some
- 15:43Speaker 1: of these like they're right over there, fifty seven Street
- 15:45Speaker 1: billionaires roll they'll buy a place there eighty million just
- 15:49Speaker 1: for their New York apartment, just a pieta tear eighty million.
- 15:55Speaker 1: So the property tax on that is probably two million
- 15:57Speaker 1: a year. They're paying two million a year in property.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And if they do come here every soft what do
- 16:02Speaker 1: you think they do when they're here? What do you
- 16:05Speaker 1: think the Russian oligarch does when he comes to his
- 16:07Speaker 1: New York City apartment. I think he just sits in
- 16:08Speaker 1: there and watches TV all day. Now he goes out
- 16:11Speaker 1: and he spends a fortune. They spend a fortune in stores,
- 16:15Speaker 1: in restaurants, or run around New York spending money like crazy.
- 16:20Speaker 1: You don't want him to stop coming here, mom, Donnie.
- 16:24Speaker 5: Our vision is that everyone stays in the city and
- 16:26Speaker 5: that we have room for others to join us. What
- 16:29Speaker 5: we often speak about is that the revenue that we
- 16:33Speaker 5: would use from this increased taxation, it is to increase
- 16:37Speaker 5: the quality of life of the same city that we
- 16:39Speaker 5: all call home.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Brilliant, It sounds brilliant. Everything he's saying is completely insane.
- 16:44Speaker 1: But if you speak like he does, and you speak slowly,
- 16:49Speaker 1: and he thinks things like what we speak about here,
- 16:52Speaker 1: and if you talk like this, you see how much
- 16:54Speaker 1: smarter I can sound if I talk like him, if
- 16:58Speaker 1: you sound like you are being very thoughtful. Meantime, everything
- 17:02Speaker 1: he said is complete crap. It doesn't make any sense,
- 17:06Speaker 1: it doesn't work. But when he talks like this, it
- 17:10Speaker 1: certainly sounds like he is smart. Anyway, we'll take some
- 17:15Speaker 1: calls in a minute. Eight hundred three to two one
- 17:17Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number. Hey, we got one
- 17:20Speaker 1: of the greatest economists in the world come up in
- 17:21Speaker 1: a few minutes. We'll ask him about this stupid tax
- 17:25Speaker 1: and what it actually will do. But give me a call.
- 17:27Speaker 1: We'll take some calls next one eight hundred three two
- 17:30Speaker 1: one zero seven ten. Give woor o, bri said on
- 17:35Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio app to.
- 17:36Speaker 5: Hear Mark Simone and all the WR hosts in an instance.
- 17:41Speaker 6: Now back to the Marximo Show on wor.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 17:49Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 17:51Speaker 6: Good morning, Mark, I'm doing very well, Thank you. Mark.
- 17:54Speaker 7: Two questions, please, well, artificial intelligence have a positive effect
- 17:59Speaker 7: on the twenty twenty eight presidential election to Republicans? And lastly,
- 18:04Speaker 7: do you believe that Elon mush will play a pivotal
- 18:07Speaker 7: role for the Republican Party?
- 18:09Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely, even if it's just through donations. Remember he
- 18:12Speaker 1: can just like that donate a quarter of a billion dollars.
- 18:16Speaker 1: He has before. What was the first part AI of
- 18:19Speaker 1: affecting who knows? Who knows? Who knows what AI will affect?
- 18:24Speaker 1: But Musk very important, major major, probably the biggest political
- 18:28Speaker 1: donor in the world. Let's go to Cathy in North Carolina. Cathy,
- 18:33Speaker 1: how you doing morning? Mark?
- 18:37Speaker 8: Yees a Meg.
- 18:38Speaker 6: That makes me super happy.
- 18:39Speaker 8: Okay, what doesn't make me happy is I wanted to
- 18:42Speaker 8: follow up on a story from last week. I don't
- 18:44Speaker 8: know how much anybody said about it other than me
- 18:47Speaker 8: about the Lucy Arnez post, and it's just really deeply
- 18:52Speaker 8: troubled me. And I really want to know from you, like,
- 18:56Speaker 8: is how is this not possible that she's not getting
- 18:59Speaker 8: a visit from the FBI? I mean, I don't I
- 19:02Speaker 8: know you're not a lawyer, but how is it possible
- 19:05Speaker 8: somebody could write something so amazing?
- 19:09Speaker 1: Well, let me just explain for those that don't know.
- 19:10Speaker 1: We like Lucy an Ye. She's a nice person. She's
- 19:13Speaker 1: a talented person, you know Churs Lucy o'ball's daughter. But
- 19:18Speaker 1: she's an absolute insane idiot when it comes to politics,
- 19:22Speaker 1: as many of those Hollywood left wing people are, and
- 19:25Speaker 1: she posts the most awful, evil, disgusting stuff about Donald Trump,
- 19:30Speaker 1: and it's they all do that in Hollywood. They're just crazy.
- 19:34Speaker 1: She could always you can't really charge it because she
- 19:36Speaker 1: could always plead insanity to do.
- 19:39Speaker 8: Yeah, but it wasn't just it wasn't it was it
- 19:42Speaker 8: was appalling what she accused him of. It's not just
- 19:45Speaker 8: that you can say I hate him, he as orange hair, whatever.
- 19:48Speaker 8: But she put things in there, accusing of doing like awful,
- 19:53Speaker 8: awful illegal stuff.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Well, actually, well you would have it. You could if
- 19:57Speaker 1: he wanted it. You're not gonna bother with her, but
- 19:59Speaker 1: you could. Who are for slanders? She accused him of
- 20:02Speaker 1: shooting babies in the head for his sexual gratification. She
- 20:05Speaker 1: accused him of a raping young boy. I mean, it
- 20:07Speaker 1: was just insane stuff.
- 20:09Speaker 8: But okay, so no follow up with it at all.
- 20:12Speaker 8: You don't know if he, if anybody's going to do
- 20:15Speaker 8: anything or I'm just.
- 20:16Speaker 1: She's not worth doing anything about it. I mean it's
- 20:18Speaker 1: too I mean it was George Stephanopolis on the Sunday
- 20:21Speaker 1: Show You go after him and ABC did have to
- 20:24Speaker 1: pay a lot of money to settle that sixty minutes.
- 20:29Speaker 1: What are you going to get out of Lucy Arna's
- 20:31Speaker 1: a dollar fifty.
- 20:32Speaker 8: I mean, that's worth the You can make an example
- 20:35Speaker 8: of her, That's what I'm saying.
- 20:36Speaker 1: More too insignificant. You'd make her the biggest star in
- 20:40Speaker 1: the world all over again. I understand your frustration, but
- 20:44Speaker 1: thank you justin more, thanks for Colin. Let's go to
- 20:48Speaker 1: Terry in Pennsylvania. Terry, how you doing?
- 20:51Speaker 9: Hey, Mark Great? How are you?
- 20:53Speaker 1: I'm good?
- 20:54Speaker 6: Okay.
- 20:54Speaker 9: So my question is do you know anything about the
- 20:58Speaker 9: story that the Pope had meeting with David Axelrod.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Yes, that's true, that's true.
- 21:04Speaker 7: It's true.
- 21:05Speaker 9: But why nothing? I've never heard anything about it.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Uh, you know, I don't know David Axelrod. He's the top, top,
- 21:12Speaker 1: top Democratic operative, very close to Obama, and he's a
- 21:19Speaker 1: very smart guy, Democrat, but very smart. If you want
- 21:23Speaker 1: good political advice, I don't know. Axlrod might have sought
- 21:26Speaker 1: out the meeting. Remember all these guys make a fortune
- 21:30Speaker 1: lobbying and getting things done for people. He may have
- 21:32Speaker 1: wanted to get stuff done with the Vatican, so it
- 21:35Speaker 1: might be Axelrod pushing it. But also, if you want
- 21:37Speaker 1: a good political advice, you're in a fight with the
- 21:39Speaker 1: President of United States and you needed some guidance. If
- 21:43Speaker 1: you were a left wing guy, Axlrod would be the
- 21:45Speaker 1: guy you go to. He's good for this.
- 21:47Speaker 9: All this come down after his meeting.
- 21:52Speaker 6: And forth.
- 21:52Speaker 1: I'm not sure about that. But if that's the case, yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 1: maybe Axcelrod advised him to go after.
- 21:56Speaker 9: The That's because people are wondering, why is he attacking
- 22:00Speaker 9: the Pope but Trump they know about the meeting and
- 22:04Speaker 9: how you know.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, we got to make more of that.
- 22:06Speaker 1: The fact that a inside Democratic operative is having secret
- 22:10Speaker 1: meetings with the Pope might mean.
- 22:11Speaker 6: The directly exactly not Catholic.
- 22:14Speaker 9: He's not Catholic.
- 22:15Speaker 6: He's not you know, a very good point.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Excellent point. Maybe they're using the Pope to influence the midterms,
- 22:22Speaker 1: very good point.
- 22:24Speaker 9: And also they're all from Chicago.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Oh that's true. Yeah, Axel R's probably an old friend
- 22:29Speaker 1: of this pope's. That's probably how you got the meeting.
- 22:31Speaker 9: One thing, one more thing, okay. And also three cardinals
- 22:34Speaker 9: were on sixty minutes after all this too. Yeah, so
- 22:38Speaker 9: it seems to me like there's something going on.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Yeah, but the good news is these Democrats come up
- 22:44Speaker 1: with these schemes that never work, and they don't realize
- 22:47Speaker 1: you tried this before and it didn't work. But remember
- 22:50Speaker 1: twenty sixteen, he got into a fight with Pope Branches.
- 22:54Speaker 1: You tried to take him out with that Pope fight
- 22:56Speaker 1: and it didn't work. That's like sixty minutes. They'll have
- 22:59Speaker 1: three car cardinals on to discuss the president going after
- 23:02Speaker 1: the pope. This is unheard of. We can't believe. How
- 23:05Speaker 1: could he go after the pope? This is unbelievable. They
- 23:07Speaker 1: forget to mention, you know, he did this ten years
- 23:09Speaker 1: ago and it didn't mean anything. It's just normal business
- 23:13Speaker 1: as usual Donald Trump. It's outrageous. It's this, it's the
- 23:16Speaker 1: it's the Howard Stern side of them. But in this
- 23:19Speaker 1: case he was right. Pope had no business wading into
- 23:22Speaker 1: this political issue and saying you can't. Nobody can ever
- 23:26Speaker 1: go to a war against an evil dictatorship, terrorist. Crazy. Hey,
- 23:31Speaker 1: when we come back, the great economist Steve Moore, what
- 23:35Speaker 1: about these crazy taxes these democrats are trying to do.
- 23:38Speaker 1: We'll get to that next on seven ten wr.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Mister New York marximone.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Wr Well. The great economist Steve Moore, also a best
- 23:50Speaker 1: selling author. Make sure you get his book, The Trump
- 23:53Speaker 1: Economic Miracle, You'll love it. And he runs the Committee
- 23:56Speaker 1: to Unleash Prosperity. They put out the best daily briefing
- 24:00Speaker 1: news analysis called the Hotline. It's free, it'll come write
- 24:04Speaker 1: your email. Just go to Unleashed prosperity dot com and
- 24:07Speaker 1: sign up. Unleash prosperity dot com. Steve Moore, how you.
- 24:11Speaker 6: Doing, hey, Mark, I'm doing very well. Did you get
- 24:14Speaker 6: your taxes done on time?
- 24:16Speaker 1: Yes? And looks a lot better this year. Everybody's going
- 24:19Speaker 1: to be very happy, right.
- 24:20Speaker 6: This year, Well they should be. I mean, well, nobody's
- 24:22Speaker 6: happy about paying their tax office.
- 24:24Speaker 1: But it is.
- 24:26Speaker 6: There was relief for people, and the media has really
- 24:30Speaker 6: downplayed that. But especially by the way, for working class people.
- 24:34Speaker 6: If you're a tipped worker, you.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Did really well.
- 24:36Speaker 6: If you're if you have overtime, you do really well.
- 24:40Speaker 6: And so it's, uh, it's surprising how many people come
- 24:43Speaker 6: up to me and said, oh, I got a nice
- 24:44Speaker 6: reefund this year. So this was something that would not
- 24:48Speaker 6: have happened without uh, without Trump. You know. I was
- 24:51Speaker 6: on Believe It or Not CNN the other night, uh
- 24:53Speaker 6: and debating this commas woman from the Seattle area, and
- 24:58Speaker 6: she kept referring to the Trump tax cut Marcus, the
- 25:01Speaker 6: big ugly bill that's their like, you know, the big
- 25:03Speaker 6: ugly bill. And I said, well, this is so ugly,
- 25:05Speaker 6: you know, why is it the average family saving twy
- 25:08Speaker 6: two hundred dollars on the taxes this year. And if
- 25:10Speaker 6: we had your way, congress Woman, they would have paid it,
- 25:14Speaker 6: paid a twenty two hundred dollars tax increase. And of
- 25:16Speaker 6: course she didn't respond to that.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Well, hey, but for them it is ugly it cuts taxes. Oh,
- 25:21Speaker 1: they don't like to see that, exactly.
- 25:23Speaker 6: They hate that.
- 25:25Speaker 9: Uh.
- 25:25Speaker 6: And of course, you know, know, Seattle has some of the
- 25:27Speaker 6: highest taxes in the country. And and so we're seeing
- 25:31Speaker 6: a reel by the way, a real implosion of these
- 25:34Speaker 6: blue states because they just keep raising taxes over and
- 25:37Speaker 6: over again. And I just saw something on Fox News
- 25:40Speaker 6: that Kathy Oakle said, well, maybe we will do you know,
- 25:43Speaker 6: a tax on, an extra five percent tax on people
- 25:46Speaker 6: will make over fifty five million dollars like they're going
- 25:48Speaker 6: to be they're going to be paying you know, sixteen
- 25:51Speaker 6: percent income tax in New York and they can move
- 25:55Speaker 6: to Florida or taxes pays zero. They can reduce their
- 25:59Speaker 6: tax live by millions and millions of dollars by just
- 26:02Speaker 6: getting out of New York. And the same thing in
- 26:04Speaker 6: New Jersey. And I know, you maybe people in Connecticut,
- 26:07Speaker 6: I mean, the tax are so high there that. Why
- 26:09Speaker 6: would people say, and a lot of them are leaving.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Hey, let me ask you something else. This is crazy,
- 26:14Speaker 1: Kathy hokles. She's now proposing a pieta tear at tax
- 26:19Speaker 1: if you happen to keep an apartment in York. She
- 26:21Speaker 1: wants like a super tax on that. Is that the
- 26:23Speaker 1: most ridiculous thing you've ever heard?
- 26:25Speaker 6: Wait say this again.
- 26:26Speaker 1: She's going to do what it's called a pieta tear
- 26:28Speaker 1: at tax. In other words, if you live somewhere else,
- 26:30Speaker 1: but you have an apartment in New York, an extra
- 26:33Speaker 1: apartment that you keep in New York, she wants to
- 26:35Speaker 1: tax the hell out of it.
- 26:37Speaker 6: It's oh, well, that's just going to mean that instead
- 26:39Speaker 6: of paying, you know, spending one hundred and eighty three
- 26:41Speaker 6: days a year and in you know, stay Florida in
- 26:44Speaker 6: one hundred and eighty days and New York. Now these
- 26:47Speaker 6: people will pay play, you know, spend zero days in
- 26:50Speaker 6: New York. I mean, they're chasing people out of the
- 26:53Speaker 6: state and in the city. I don't, I really don't
- 26:55Speaker 6: understand the logic of this. You know, Mark, you and
- 26:58Speaker 6: I know our laugher very well. And the economic principle
- 27:02Speaker 6: is so simple. It's just if you tax something, you
- 27:05Speaker 6: get less of it, and if you tax something less,
- 27:07Speaker 6: you get more of it. So if you want people
- 27:09Speaker 6: to come back to New York, do you think the
- 27:11Speaker 6: way to do that is apply more taxes.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think they understand. She was yelling about
- 27:16Speaker 1: it's Russian oligarchs. Well, what does she think they do
- 27:19Speaker 1: when they get here? They go to a restaurants, they
- 27:21Speaker 1: go to stores, they spend you ever watch them, They
- 27:22Speaker 1: spend a fortune everywhere.
- 27:25Speaker 6: It's it's the it's the it's the grease that makes
- 27:30Speaker 6: the city work.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Is that.
- 27:31Speaker 6: You know, you get tourists all over the place, You
- 27:33Speaker 6: get people spend a few months there, and you know,
- 27:36Speaker 6: the nice time of the year, and look, I like
- 27:38Speaker 6: New York City. I lived there for several years when
- 27:40Speaker 6: I was working at the Wall Street Journal. It's one
- 27:43Speaker 6: of the greatest cities in the world. But it's just
- 27:45Speaker 6: being ruined by these crazy things. But I'm very pleased
- 27:47Speaker 6: to say that at least now you can go to
- 27:49Speaker 6: a government owned grocery store.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Now, let me ask you something. This guy, this mom
- 27:55Speaker 1: Donnie's supposed to be a brilliant educated Every grocery store
- 27:59Speaker 1: that open, the top chains come in. When they open
- 28:02Speaker 1: a grocery store, they tell us it's one million to
- 28:04Speaker 1: three million to open. And this is a high end
- 28:06Speaker 1: grocery store. His thing is going to be a dump
- 28:09Speaker 1: in the middle of nowhere. And he says it's going
- 28:11Speaker 1: to cost thirty million. How could he be dumb enough?
- 28:15Speaker 1: I mean, every other grocery store is three million. How's
- 28:17Speaker 1: his thirty?
- 28:19Speaker 6: Yeah? And you know you and I are friends with
- 28:21Speaker 6: John Katzimatitis, who owns grocery stores. Why did he just
- 28:25Speaker 6: contract out with John katz and Matitis. You can do
- 28:28Speaker 6: it at the faction of the costs that the government
- 28:29Speaker 6: bureaucrats can't. And I guarantee you I give these grocery
- 28:34Speaker 6: stores maybe eighteen months. And then if that didn't work
- 28:37Speaker 6: so well, maybe the government isn't too good at running
- 28:39Speaker 6: retail stores. They don't do anything else very well. By
- 28:42Speaker 6: the way, are the checkout lines that those grocery stores
- 28:44Speaker 6: going to be long as they don't.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Get in your.
- 28:47Speaker 6: Department of over Vehicles license renewed?
- 28:50Speaker 1: Yeah? Hey, didn't we have this problem solved a million
- 28:53Speaker 1: years ago? If you wanted people can't afford food, how
- 28:56Speaker 1: do you get them free food? You give them food stamps.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Why don't we just go back to that didn't go
- 29:01Speaker 1: to any grocery store. Wouldn't that well accomplished the same.
- 29:04Speaker 6: Yeah, because you don't understand it's these terrible immigrants who
- 29:08Speaker 6: come in and they start these little grocery stores and
- 29:10Speaker 6: they're just ripping people off. You know, That's that's why
- 29:13Speaker 6: we need the government.
- 29:14Speaker 1: To do it. Yeah. Hey, the California governor's race with
- 29:18Speaker 1: swallwell out, Tom tom Steier rises up the billionaire climate.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Tell us about Tom Steyer, do we would he be
- 29:26Speaker 1: a disaster?
- 29:27Speaker 6: The med news is that, you know, we had an
- 29:29Speaker 6: item in our outline on this today because the fact
- 29:31Speaker 6: that Swallow it By the way, I love these Fox
- 29:33Speaker 6: News you know they're doing these exposes on on Swallow
- 29:38Speaker 6: and how all these Democrats over the years always the
- 29:42Speaker 6: most wonderful person. I mean, he's a great, great American
- 29:45Speaker 6: and he's the face of our party. Now they're running
- 29:48Speaker 6: for the for the high Grass. But it's amazing how
- 29:53Speaker 6: he duped so many people in the Democratic Party saying
- 29:57Speaker 6: how wonderful he was. But now it's thrown at the
- 29:59Speaker 6: calip Warnia Governor's race way wide open, and you can
- 30:02Speaker 6: make the case that other than the presidential race that
- 30:05Speaker 6: you know, the second most important, you know, political race
- 30:08Speaker 6: in the country is probably governor of California. And now
- 30:11Speaker 6: the Democrats are left without a candidate except Tom Steyer,
- 30:14Speaker 6: who's a lunatic climate change billionaire, and so, but I
- 30:19Speaker 6: think what's gonna By the way, let me say something
- 30:21Speaker 6: else that Steve Hilton, you know who people know from
- 30:25Speaker 6: Fox News Smark. I was out there in La a
- 30:28Speaker 6: few weeks ago. He gave a speech in front of
- 30:32Speaker 6: four hundred people, and I spoke there and some others
- 30:34Speaker 6: said he has an outstanding agenda. I mean, if they
- 30:37Speaker 6: were to elect somebody with like Steve Hilton, California could
- 30:42Speaker 6: turn around over overnight.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a you know, you look at state's Texas, Florida.
- 30:47Speaker 1: You just get rid of the income tax, you get
- 30:48Speaker 1: rid of this this, and all of a sudden the
- 30:51Speaker 1: place is booming. The only problem you have is everybody
- 30:53Speaker 1: wants to move in. How come Democrats can't figure that out?
- 30:56Speaker 6: Well, that would be a yeah, I mean Florida. You know,
- 30:58Speaker 6: we had a a tune in our hotline a few
- 31:01Speaker 6: weeks ago. He said, you know, when you get on
- 31:03Speaker 6: ninety five and you go through Georgia into Florida where
- 31:06Speaker 6: you see the big sign that says welcome to Florida,
- 31:08Speaker 6: and it says working in Florida, and that says no vacancy.
- 31:14Speaker 1: I like that.
- 31:15Speaker 6: So any way, the income taxes to remind people, I
- 31:18Speaker 6: think most people know this. The income tax. Do you
- 31:21Speaker 6: know what the income tax rate in Florida is?
- 31:23Speaker 1: State tax?
- 31:25Speaker 6: The state income tax zero? I think zero exactly, So
- 31:31Speaker 6: you can save a lot of money. You can either
- 31:33Speaker 6: pay sixteen percent in New York or zero in Florida.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Well, you got Bruce Blakeman running for governor. He would
- 31:40Speaker 1: be a great governor, very very common the guy.
- 31:43Speaker 6: I've been watching him in Fox. I really I think
- 31:45Speaker 6: he's an adult in the room and I think he
- 31:48Speaker 6: would be so fantastic. I go back to, you know,
- 31:52Speaker 6: when George Pataki was governor in New York. George is
- 31:55Speaker 6: a good friend of mine. I'm a big fan of his,
- 31:58Speaker 6: and boy did he help turn around the state like
- 32:00Speaker 6: Rudy Giuliani turned around the city. It doesn't take much.
- 32:04Speaker 6: It's not that hard. Yeah, you know, just be common
- 32:07Speaker 6: sensical and do the things that are smart. But these
- 32:11Speaker 6: people like Mondaminian hoko. They just won't do it. They're
- 32:14Speaker 6: so ideological. I don't get it. They're not common sense Democrats.
- 32:18Speaker 1: And Democrats were very upset. Yesterday the S and P
- 32:21Speaker 1: five hundred hit the all time high record high. Amazing.
- 32:25Speaker 1: How did that happen so fast? That's pretty Yeah.
- 32:28Speaker 6: And you know why that's a great story is because
- 32:30Speaker 6: the S and P five hundred none like the Dow,
- 32:31Speaker 6: which is just like the thirty biggest companies. The sm
- 32:34Speaker 6: P five hundred is five hundred mostly small medium sized businesses,
- 32:38Speaker 6: and their value keeps going up because Trump is pro growth.
- 32:41Speaker 6: He's pro America's pro business, and you've got to be
- 32:44Speaker 6: If you want to be pro worker, you got to
- 32:46Speaker 6: be pro business.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Yeah, amazing story. Of course, I noticed on the Network
- 32:50Speaker 1: news it was like the twenty seventh story end of
- 32:52Speaker 1: the newscast. They didn't want to open with that essence.
- 32:55Speaker 6: Well, I was even shocked by it, because you know,
- 32:57Speaker 6: I just learned that this morning. I said, gee, I
- 32:59Speaker 6: didn't see that on the news.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Well, Steve Moore, great stuff, and everybody should get your book.
- 33:06Speaker 1: I love the book, The Trump Economic Miracle. He gave
- 33:08Speaker 1: you the title, right, that was his title.
- 33:10Speaker 6: Yeah, Donald Trump had the title, and we're going to
- 33:12Speaker 6: get back to that. I know these this has been
- 33:14Speaker 6: a tough patch for the economy. But when we get
- 33:16Speaker 6: the straight open and we get a victorious settlement there
- 33:20Speaker 6: in Iran, I think we're going to be right back
- 33:22Speaker 6: on the Trump economic miracle path.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Well, everybody gets the book, and the most important thing,
- 33:27Speaker 1: you got to sign up for the daily Hotline. It's
- 33:29Speaker 1: the best news and analysis. Steve Moore, you do a
- 33:32Speaker 1: great job putting that together every day, and it's free.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Just go to Unleash Prosperity dot com. Unleash Prosperity dot com.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Of course we'll see all over television and Steve Moore,
