- 0:11Hello, friends. It's Sean here.
- 0:14And hey, hey, it's Friday. It is the 24th of January.
- 0:18I've reached the end of the week.
- 0:20Well done you. I hope it has been.
- 0:23Yeah, a lovely week, a week where you have felt like you are
- 0:26getting some runs on the board if you're trying to be
- 0:28productive, or you have been deeply restored if you are still
- 0:32enjoying a break. But whatever your circumstance,
- 0:36here we are at the end of a momentous journey.
- 0:40Today we will read Psalm 150. That is the last Psalm in the
- 0:45book of Psalms. That means that it has been
- 0:47three full years since we began reading a Psalm every Friday.
- 0:52Hasn't it been great, friends? Hasn't it been awesome?
- 0:55I have loved getting to go through the Psalms, some of them
- 0:59gruelling as the psalmist cries out in anguish and others
- 1:04marching up that hill to Jerusalem, and many of them
- 1:08praising the Lord, which is what today is today.
- 1:12This final Psalm is a Psalm of praise.
- 1:16It is a short Psalm, only 6 verses long, but we shall
- 1:22proclaim every one of those verses as we adopt this posture
- 1:27of praise along with the psalmist.
- 1:29So, friends, let us end this chapter.
- 1:32Let us end this book of psalms together with a triumphant shout
- 1:36of praise as we declare together the words of Psalm 150.
- 1:51Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary,
- 1:55Praise Him in his mighty heaven. Praise Him for His mighty works.
- 2:01Praise His unequalled greatness. Praise Him with a blast of the
- 2:06ram's horn. Praise him with the lyre and
- 2:09harp. Praise Him with the tambourine
- 2:13and dancing. Praise Him with strings and
- 2:16flutes. Praise Him with a clash of
- 2:19cymbals. Praise Him with loud, clanging
- 2:22cymbals. Let everything that breathes
- 2:26sing praises to the Lord. Praise the Lord.
- 2:42What more is there to say? Let our hearts, let our lives be
- 2:48of praise to You, Lord, today, in the decisions that we make,
- 2:53in the words that we choose to use in our actions.
- 2:56Let them all reverberate praise to You so that you see in us
- 3:02Your faithful servants who just want to live lives of praise to
- 3:06you, our glorious God. We may not use tambourines and
- 3:11dancing today, or crashing cymbals, but may we be just as
- 3:16overt and loud in our praise of you today.
- 3:21You are alone, so worthy of all our praise, and so we give that
- 3:27to you now, our wonderful Saviour, our mighty King, and
- 3:32our loving God. We pray all of this in that
- 3:36saving name of Jesus, Amen.
