- 0:01Speaker 1: Live on Sky News.
- 0:03Speaker 2: This is Sharry.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Thanks Andrew. Well, good evening.
- 0:09Speaker 4: Exclusive tonight, We've got freshly unearthed footage that shows Kevin
- 0:13Speaker 4: Rudd calling Donald Trump a village idiot. This as his
- 0:18Speaker 4: deleted tweets becomes a big story in New York. Peter
- 0:22Speaker 4: Dutton searches ahead in news poll. He's almost in a
- 0:25Speaker 4: winning position. Well, does this mean that Albanezy could lead
- 0:29Speaker 4: a one term government? Also full coverage tonight of the
- 0:32Speaker 4: Amsterdam pogrom.
- 0:34Speaker 3: A victim would join.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Me live on the show, plus the vice president of
- 0:38Speaker 4: the Anti Defamation League who was on the ground.
- 0:41Speaker 3: As the horror unfolded.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Also on the show tonight Steve Price, Joe Hildebrand, Cameron Milner,
- 0:47Speaker 4: and Koshergada. And I'm going to speak with Kosher about
- 0:50Speaker 4: how there are now reports Kamala Harris had to pay
- 0:54Speaker 4: millions of dollars for celebrities to turn up to her rallies.
- 0:59Speaker 4: But first tonight, it's Remembrance Day today, when we honor
- 1:03Speaker 4: our fallen soldiers who fought for our freedoms and our
- 1:07Speaker 4: survival on this precise day, this sacred day, the very
- 1:12Speaker 4: values our allied soldiers sacrificed their lives for are at
- 1:17Speaker 4: grave risk as Islamic fundamentalists and woke leftists join forces
- 1:23Speaker 4: to weaken Western civilization and to rip away at the
- 1:27Speaker 4: fabric that holds our society together. The warning signs and
- 1:32Speaker 4: scenes of violence that we saw before World War II
- 1:36Speaker 4: are now sadly reoccurring, and the media is complicit while
- 1:41Speaker 4: veterans and survivors despair at what our world.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Is coming to.
- 1:48Speaker 4: On Thursday night local time our time Friday, there was
- 1:52Speaker 4: a pogrom in Amsterdam. The story has been massively underplayed
- 1:57Speaker 4: in mainstream media outlets, and both the lack of coverage
- 2:02Speaker 4: and the response to the event itself exposes untold hypocrisy.
- 2:08Speaker 4: And if you missed this story, and who could blame
- 2:10Speaker 4: you because there hasn't been much coverage.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Here's what happened.
- 2:15Speaker 4: There was a wave of extreme violence from local Muslim
- 2:18Speaker 4: gangs towards Jews after a soccer match between Maccabi Tel
- 2:22Speaker 4: Aviv and the most popular Dutch team in Amsterdam. Master
- 2:27Speaker 4: attackers shouted pro Palestinian and anti Jewish slogans while they
- 2:33Speaker 4: beat and chased Jews with knives. As you're about to see,
- 2:39Speaker 4: footage shows one Israeli yelling I'm not Jewish, as he
- 2:44Speaker 4: was beaten and a warning this is distressing. Jews were
- 3:03Speaker 4: spat on, and footage shows Jews being thrown in the river.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Others jumped into canals to escape the attackers. One Jew
- 3:12Speaker 4: has told how he spoke Arabic so that the Muslims
- 3:16Speaker 4: would stop their violence against him. They wouldn't hear him
- 3:19Speaker 4: speaking Hebrew. He then later rescued many others. We know
- 3:24Speaker 4: this because of the testimony of victims, but also because,
- 3:29Speaker 4: like on October seven, these Hamas supporters filmed their hate
- 3:34Speaker 4: crimes against Jews. Again a warning, this video is distressing, sermons.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Children.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Police reportedly sat back and watched. They didn't help the
- 4:07Speaker 4: Tel Aviv fans as they were attacked. A network of
- 4:11Speaker 4: taxi and uber drivers are also reported to have helped
- 4:15Speaker 4: the gang's locate Jews. One father from London, who did
- 4:21Speaker 4: try and break up a gang attack, was reportedly hospitalized.
- 4:26Speaker 3: He was punched, his.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Nose was split and bleeding, his glasses broken. When someone
- 4:33Speaker 4: pointed out that the man was British, not Israeli, one
- 4:37Speaker 4: of the attackers said, yes, but he helped a Jew.
- 4:41Speaker 4: The Islamic attackers demanded to see passpots they were hunting
- 4:46Speaker 4: in search of Jews, and the attackers trailed on scooters
- 4:51Speaker 4: or in taxis.
- 4:52Speaker 3: There was no quarter of.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Amsterdam that was safe. Israelis were abandoned and left to
- 4:59Speaker 4: fend for them. Jews were ordered to stay in lockdown
- 5:03Speaker 4: in their hotel rooms and not wear anything that would
- 5:07Speaker 4: identify their religion. Now, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjaminette and
- 5:12Speaker 4: Yahoo even sent rescue planes to Amsterdam, and more than
- 5:16Speaker 4: two thousand Jews were flown to Israel on emergency flights.
- 5:22Speaker 4: There were initial reports that sixty two people had been arrested,
- 5:27Speaker 4: but it turns out that none of those were related
- 5:30Speaker 4: to the pogrom. Conservative Party leader Gerd Wielders said, and
- 5:35Speaker 4: I quote, I am speechless. Amsterdam police just confirmed that
- 5:40Speaker 4: no one has been arrested during the Islamic Jew hunt
- 5:44Speaker 4: in Amsterdam Thursday night. All arrests have been made before
- 5:49Speaker 4: and during the soccer match, and not during the pogram.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Now this is Israeli's just supporting their soccer team in
- 5:58Speaker 4: a western city in twenty twenty four, when we're at
- 6:02Speaker 4: the peak of woke ideology and progressive politics. This pogrom
- 6:07Speaker 4: also took place on the eighty sixth anniversary of kristor Nacht,
- 6:12Speaker 4: the Night of Broken Glass, when there was a coordinated
- 6:15Speaker 4: wave of Nazi violence and attacks against Jews. It took
- 6:20Speaker 4: place in Amsterdam, on the same streets where Anne Frank lived, hid,
- 6:26Speaker 4: and was murdered. Her legacy cannot be forgotten, along with
- 6:32Speaker 4: all of those who served and sacrificed for us, who
- 6:35Speaker 4: we remember today on Remembrance Day.
- 6:39Speaker 5: Now.
- 6:40Speaker 4: One Dutch survivor of the Holocaust, Eddie Boas, told my
- 6:44Speaker 4: colleague Caroline Marcus today that the scenes were reminiscent of
- 6:48Speaker 4: the Nazi era, and he says he fears the aggression
- 6:53Speaker 4: on our streets aren't far off.
- 6:56Speaker 6: It makes me more than say it. It makes me crankly.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Now when we reflect on World War II and the
- 7:04Speaker 4: years that preceded it, No one excuses the violence by
- 7:10Speaker 4: claiming there was a reason for it, an excuse. We
- 7:13Speaker 4: recognize unequivocally that it was abhorrent racism and the messages
- 7:18Speaker 4: never again. Yet right now, as we're witnessing pogroms and
- 7:24Speaker 4: persecution and racism, we are hearing excuses. Mainstream media outlets
- 7:31Speaker 4: who should know better, have excused this violence by showing
- 7:36Speaker 4: footage of one or two Israelis taking down a Palestinian
- 7:41Speaker 4: flag Wednesday.
- 7:43Speaker 7: Social media videos verified by Sky News Joe maccabee Tel
- 7:47Speaker 7: Aviv fans tearing down a Palestinian flags, Well.
- 7:51Speaker 4: That was Sky News UK and Channel nine. Here was
- 7:54Speaker 4: no better.
- 7:56Speaker 7: The violence on the streets of Amsterdam unfolding after israel
- 8:00Speaker 7: football fans were filmed chanting anti Arab slogans and pulling
- 8:05Speaker 7: down Palestinian flags from buildings.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Now, firstly, surely it doesn't need to be said that
- 8:12Speaker 4: one person taking down a flag doesn't justify the lynching
- 8:18Speaker 4: and hunting down of dozens, if.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Not hundreds of Jews.
- 8:22Speaker 4: But far more crucially, the flag and the chants are
- 8:26Speaker 4: simply not the reason for the wave of violence in
- 8:29Speaker 4: Amsterdam because the Jew hunt was planned well in advance.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Extremists plotted the attack days earlier on apps like Telegram
- 8:39Speaker 4: and WhatsApp, and we have those messages. Dutch authorities have
- 8:44Speaker 4: also confirmed that Mosside Intelligence, that's Israeli intelligence, warned them
- 8:50Speaker 4: about the plans for violence ahead of time, and that
- 8:53Speaker 4: they did nothing with the warning and attempts to paint
- 8:58Speaker 4: this says some protests again Israel are also utterly inaccurate.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Let there be no misunderstanding.
- 9:06Speaker 4: These thugs were not trying to help Palestinians. They were
- 9:11Speaker 4: hunting down Jews. Its persecution, its racism, its a pogrom,
- 9:18Speaker 4: and the media.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Claims the violence is justified.
- 9:22Speaker 4: It's precisely what the mob at the Opera House on
- 9:25Speaker 4: October nine last year promised to do.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Where's the Jews?
- 9:38Speaker 4: And we were told there was no problem with that
- 9:40Speaker 4: chant because it wasn't gas the Jews. Well, the pro
- 9:43Speaker 4: Palestinian mobs have been telling us this entire time what
- 9:47Speaker 4: they intend to do the world over.
- 9:51Speaker 3: They promised a global into fada.
- 9:54Speaker 4: We're now witnessing violence erupt in every western city in
- 9:58Speaker 4: the globe. This is the point where it's gone too far.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Now I've grown up Jewish, but I've never truly understood
- 10:07Speaker 4: how nineteen thirties Europe could happen, or how the pograms
- 10:11Speaker 4: in northeastern Europe in the early nineteen hundreds could happen
- 10:15Speaker 4: either or in Spain in the fourteen hundreds, or in
- 10:18Speaker 4: the Roman Empire some two thousand.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Years ago before Christ.
- 10:24Speaker 4: But now, for the first time in my life, I
- 10:27Speaker 4: do I understand how it happens. Law enforcement sits back,
- 10:34Speaker 4: politicians sit back, the media condones it, and the anti
- 10:39Speaker 4: Semitism erupts. It's allowed to fester and spread wider until
- 10:45Speaker 4: it becomes a major movement where figureheads arise. That is
- 10:50Speaker 4: how it happens, and we're following this recipe right now
- 10:54Speaker 4: in dozens of cities around the world.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Now.
- 10:58Speaker 4: I believe it's not too late to stop it, but
- 11:00Speaker 4: we need strong leaders who are prepared to say that
- 11:05Speaker 4: they won't allow this to happen under their watch, who
- 11:08Speaker 4: are prepared to enforce the law. If we don't have
- 11:13Speaker 4: these leaders, then I ask how many planes will Israel
- 11:19Speaker 4: have to send? How many planes will Israel have to
- 11:25Speaker 4: send to Australia, to Europe, to the United States? How
- 11:31Speaker 4: many planes will Israel have to send to rescue all
- 11:33Speaker 4: of us from this violence that's erupting and that law
- 11:37Speaker 4: enforcement isn't doing anything about. Fundamentalist is Lammists who don't
- 11:45Speaker 4: stand for the values that our veterans fought for of freedom,
- 11:50Speaker 4: peace and makeship are given a free pass by the police.
- 11:55Speaker 4: They're getting away scott free, emboldened by the radical left.
- 12:01Speaker 4: Our veterans, our soldiers, our fallen who we remember today
- 12:06Speaker 4: would surely be horrified that the Western world is crumbling
- 12:12Speaker 4: before our very eyes. I'm going to get to other
- 12:18Speaker 4: topics in the moment. There's a lot to talk about Trump.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Our exclusive on Kevin Rudd News Pulvit. Now, just let's
- 12:25Speaker 4: stay on this and let's bring in live from Berlin.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Senior vice president of the Anti Defamation League, Marina Rosenberg. Marina,
- 12:32Speaker 4: thank you for your time. You flew to Amsterdam when
- 12:34Speaker 4: this violence unfolded. Can you tell us some of the
- 12:37Speaker 4: horrific things that happened.
- 12:41Speaker 8: Yeah, absolutely, Sherry, But first of all, thank you for
- 12:43Speaker 8: having me and thank you for your words. You said
- 12:47Speaker 8: it right. What we saw in Amsterdam Thursday evening was
- 12:51Speaker 8: a modern day for grown against Jews. There is absolutely
- 12:56Speaker 8: no other way to put it. And this is exactly
- 12:59Speaker 8: how glows globalized. The Intifada looks like. And it happened
- 13:04Speaker 8: in Amsterdam, but it could happen here in Berlin, it
- 13:08Speaker 8: could happen in Sydney, it could happen in New York.
- 13:11Speaker 8: The moment that our societies are normalizing anti Semitism, are
- 13:17Speaker 8: allowing for all terrorists manifestations in their cities with flags
- 13:23Speaker 8: of Hamas and Hibala, with calls to globalize the Antifada
- 13:28Speaker 8: and resistance in any way, so we shouldn't be surprised
- 13:33Speaker 8: of what we saw Thursday night. Now let me be clear,
- 13:38Speaker 8: we know what happened because we saw the videos that
- 13:41Speaker 8: the attackers themselves put on social media when they hunt Jews,
- 13:47Speaker 8: and they themselves were using this term in their WhatsApp groups.
- 13:52Speaker 8: And this was a coordinated attack, This was not scontaneous.
- 13:58Speaker 8: We heard of people that were there that they were persecuted,
- 14:04Speaker 8: they were attacked, they were beaten. There were people that
- 14:08Speaker 8: were asked to show their passports to show their nationality.
- 14:12Speaker 8: The attackers ask are you Jewish? And there's a video
- 14:16Speaker 8: on social media of an Ukrainian citizen crying for his
- 14:21Speaker 8: life saying I'm not Jewish, I'm not Jewish.
- 14:24Speaker 3: And this is.
- 14:25Speaker 8: Eighty six years after Kristen Lach, the grown that happened
- 14:30Speaker 8: here in Germany and in Austria where Jews were killed
- 14:35Speaker 8: and arrested. But this is not just unacceptable. This is
- 14:40Speaker 8: time for leaders to lead, to stop just talking about
- 14:45Speaker 8: it and condemning it, and to take real actions.
- 14:49Speaker 3: We're in Rozenberg.
- 14:50Speaker 4: I really appreciate your time because we're asking, as you say,
- 14:54Speaker 4: this violence rapt in cities right across the world. We
- 14:57Speaker 4: during need strong ladyship, as you just said, we need
- 15:00Speaker 4: governments to take this seriously. Marina, thank you very much
- 15:03Speaker 4: for your time. Thank you, Sharon, and a victim of
- 15:07Speaker 4: those attacks will join me later in the show.
- 15:09Speaker 3: He's a soccer fan.
- 15:10Speaker 4: He tells me about how the police did nothing, didn't
- 15:14Speaker 4: even get out a police vehicle. But now let's turn
- 15:18Speaker 4: to Kevin Rudd. We can Tonight exclusively reveal freshly unearthed
- 15:23Speaker 4: footage of Kevin Rudd calling Donald Trump a village idiot. Now,
- 15:28Speaker 4: Rudd is already dealing with headlines in the New York
- 15:31Speaker 4: Times no less about why he deleted his tweets calling
- 15:35Speaker 4: Trump a traitor.
- 15:38Speaker 3: But now there are further.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Damaging comments that he's made in the past about Donald Trump.
- 15:43Speaker 9: Have a look in the last four years, has been
- 15:46Speaker 9: run by a village idiot, competent international state craft and
- 15:50Speaker 9: the United States increasingly incompetent and international state craft under.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Trump, And those two comments were edited together called him
- 16:00Speaker 4: a village idiot, and then he said that the United
- 16:02Speaker 4: States under Trump was incompetent.
- 16:05Speaker 3: He also was caught on film mocking Trump.
- 16:09Speaker 10: I stand by what I wrote then that was in
- 16:11Speaker 10: a pre Trump world. I hope to publish again soon,
- 16:15Speaker 10: hopefully early next year, the Future of US China Relations
- 16:19Speaker 10: under President Trump, and then I owned the subtitle will
- 16:24Speaker 10: be a call for a new tremendous piece of very big,
- 16:27Speaker 10: beautiful Mara Lago chocolate cake. That's the working title. Any
- 16:33Speaker 10: other suggestions I'd greatly receive.
- 16:37Speaker 4: You wouldn't hear Kevin Wright speaking about any other United
- 16:40Speaker 4: States president like that. In other comments, he also claimed
- 16:43Speaker 4: that Trump was in love with dictators.
- 16:46Speaker 11: Have a look, but the underpinnings of it was still
- 16:49Speaker 11: incoherent because Trump himself was incoherent, and he waxed and
- 16:55Speaker 11: wane from being in love with dictators to not knowing
- 16:59Speaker 11: what he wanted from dictators now.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Rodd's poor judgment in making those comments in the first
- 17:05Speaker 4: place is only matched by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's poor
- 17:09Speaker 4: judgment in appointing Rudd in the first place. Rudd failed
- 17:13Speaker 4: to recognize that the MAGA movement wasn't going away and
- 17:16Speaker 4: that Trump could be president once again, while Albineazi knew
- 17:21Speaker 4: full well that Rudd had trashed the former president, but
- 17:25Speaker 4: appointed him anyway to our most important ambassadorship, our man
- 17:31Speaker 4: in Washington. Now, business is across Australia right now will
- 17:35Speaker 4: be rightly worrying about whether we're going to be hit
- 17:38Speaker 4: with the ten percent tariffs that Trump plans to impose
- 17:41Speaker 4: on countries around the world. And they'd be even more
- 17:44Speaker 4: worried because is Rudd really the best person to make
- 17:48Speaker 4: the case that Australia should be exempt when it comes
- 17:52Speaker 4: to dealing with Donald Trump? Now, as The Knightly editor
- 17:56Speaker 4: Chris Dare writs, loose lipped Rudd is so arrogant actually
- 18:00Speaker 4: thinks he can walk back every insult ever delivered without
- 18:04Speaker 4: about Trump and get away with it.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Well he can't. No one's going to forget.
- 18:10Speaker 4: And the widespread media coverage now that he's deleting his
- 18:13Speaker 4: comments is only amplifying the devastating remarks he made.
- 18:18Speaker 3: They're now being.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Repeated in the media over and over again. Well to discuss,
- 18:23Speaker 4: let's bring in Sky News host Steve Price and contributor
- 18:26Speaker 4: Joe Heldebrand.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Welcome to you both.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Steve Christor also made the very good point in his
- 18:33Speaker 4: article that probably Anthony Albinezi and Penny Wong actually agree
- 18:38Speaker 4: with everything Kevin Rudd said about Trump in the past.
- 18:42Speaker 12: Well, they probably do. I mean, nothing surprises me about Kevin.
- 18:45Speaker 12: I mean he called me a gutless coward, which is
- 18:48Speaker 12: clearly defometry and he wanted it published in an open
- 18:51Speaker 12: letter in the news limited papers around the country. So
- 18:55Speaker 12: it's all going to come back to haunt him and
- 18:57Speaker 12: people will find more and more examples you have brilliantly
- 19:01Speaker 12: done of things he said in the past. Now, Donald Trump,
- 19:05Speaker 12: I think we know one thing about him. He's a
- 19:07Speaker 12: relationship guy. I mean Joe Hockey went and played golf
- 19:11Speaker 12: with him, deliberately lost and we managed to keep tariffs
- 19:14Speaker 12: of things like steal and aluminum. I mean, Kevin Rud's
- 19:17Speaker 12: not going to get that sort of treatment. The own
- 19:19Speaker 12: goal by Anthony Albanezi and appointing Kevin Rudd was probably
- 19:24Speaker 12: as bad as Tony Abbott and the knighthood for Prince Philip.
- 19:28Speaker 12: I mean it's almost it's worse than that, because this
- 19:31Speaker 12: is economically going to be very difficult for Australia, much
- 19:34Speaker 12: worse exactly.
- 19:35Speaker 4: You know, we are national security, our trade the US
- 19:39Speaker 4: is important for so many reasons. But Joe hild run
- 19:42Speaker 4: these comments, these new comments that we've just played tonight,
- 19:45Speaker 4: calling Trump a village.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Idiot, I mean, that's a new level of low from Rudd.
- 19:49Speaker 6: Yeah, that's interesting. Donald Trump, or the election of Donald Trump,
- 19:53Speaker 6: is actually schooling a whole bunch of the sort of,
- 19:56Speaker 6: shall we say, the narcissistic smug left in ways that
- 20:00Speaker 6: I think are incredibly illuminating and incredibly helpful to those
- 20:04Speaker 6: of us who would like to see them taught a
- 20:07Speaker 6: lesson and put back in their box. Now, it has
- 20:08Speaker 6: to be remembered that when Kevin Rudd was made ambassador
- 20:12Speaker 6: to the US, part of the reason for that was
- 20:14Speaker 6: to get him off Twitter. Was to get him to
- 20:16Speaker 6: shut up, stopped calling free Royal commission into news corps,
- 20:20Speaker 6: stopped slagging off everybody didn't like settling old scores. And
- 20:23Speaker 6: I can promise you that was very much part of
- 20:26Speaker 6: the thinking in booting him over there. He would have
- 20:28Speaker 6: to be quite literally diplomatic. The fact that he didn't
- 20:32Speaker 6: scrub those tweets at the time, I think speaks to
- 20:34Speaker 6: a level of perhaps arrogance and complacency. I don't think
- 20:37Speaker 6: Trump had even announced his renomination at the time that
- 20:40Speaker 6: these comments were made, And that goes to another piece
- 20:43Speaker 6: of I suppose, you know, elite lefty arrogance, and this
- 20:49Speaker 6: is something goes back to the first thing I wrote
- 20:51Speaker 6: after Biden was elected, which was all these people celebrating
- 20:54Speaker 6: as though it was all over, it was never going
- 20:55Speaker 6: to come back again. I'm like, you think those seventy
- 20:58Speaker 6: million plus voters is the second highest turnout for anyone
- 21:02Speaker 6: in US presidential history. They're just going to go away now,
- 21:05Speaker 6: that's it, that's all. They're beaten. And you had all
- 21:08Speaker 6: these lefties in Australia and in America, these urban, elite,
- 21:11Speaker 6: upper middle class, tertiary educated, smartest people in the room.
- 21:15Speaker 6: And this is another thing that it's exposed. Oh, we're
- 21:17Speaker 6: so much smarter than you. Yori, just an idiot. Oh
- 21:19Speaker 6: he's gone forever. Everything's fine. And they clearly had never
- 21:22Speaker 6: actually contemplated the fact that this guy could come back
- 21:25Speaker 6: and be their worst nightmare. They've clearly never seen the
- 21:27Speaker 6: sequel to an action.
- 21:28Speaker 3: For you, it was never going away.
- 21:30Speaker 4: But just before we move on from right, one of
- 21:32Speaker 4: the most egregious things as well is that he actually
- 21:35Speaker 4: took a media outlet to the Press Council because he
- 21:38Speaker 4: was so outraged about the reports that he was going
- 21:42Speaker 4: to be or was being considered for the job of
- 21:44Speaker 4: the next ambassador in Washington, and it was all true.
- 21:47Speaker 3: It was all true.
- 21:49Speaker 4: Unbelievable. Now let's have a look at the news poll today.
- 21:53Speaker 4: The Coalition has received of Peter Dutton a major boost
- 21:57Speaker 4: because the primary for the Coalition has now lifted to
- 22:01Speaker 4: forty percent. Peter Dutton is also closing on Anthony Albanezi
- 22:06Speaker 4: in the better Prime Minister pole, jumping four points. Now,
- 22:10Speaker 4: see if the Coalition needs a primary of at least
- 22:13Speaker 4: forty percent, probably forty one percent to be in a winning.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Position, but it looks like, judging.
- 22:19Speaker 4: By the momentum over the past year, Peter Dutton is
- 22:22Speaker 4: slowly inching the.
- 22:25Speaker 12: Slow and steady. And the point about it is that
- 22:27Speaker 12: he's now in a position where he can say, in
- 22:30Speaker 12: an election campaign to every Australian do you feel better
- 22:33Speaker 12: off now than you did three years ago? Which is
- 22:35Speaker 12: the line that Donald Trump used to get elected in
- 22:37Speaker 12: the United States. And of course he answer to that
- 22:39Speaker 12: question is no. And so you've got now Peter Dutton
- 22:42Speaker 12: in a inner position where he's competitive. I mean, I
- 22:45Speaker 12: don't think anybody the Coalition included and Peter Dutton particularly
- 22:50Speaker 12: are getting ahead of themselves. They know there's got a
- 22:52Speaker 12: hell of a lot of work still to do, but
- 22:53Speaker 12: Peter Dutton now has the perfect opportunity. You've got to
- 22:56Speaker 12: fight this election on policies, not on past record wards.
- 23:00Speaker 12: So he's going to fight it on cost of living,
- 23:02Speaker 12: cost of living immigration in particular, that's the other issue
- 23:07Speaker 12: that people are really upset about, and of course energy
- 23:10Speaker 12: policy were nuclear thrown into the mix. So I think
- 23:13Speaker 12: Anthony Albanezi, after a horror couple of weeks where he said,
- 23:16Speaker 12: you know, the upgrade drama and the holiday house, he
- 23:18Speaker 12: would have woken up this morning, picked up his copy
- 23:20Speaker 12: of The Australian and thought, oh god, I've really got
- 23:23Speaker 12: a problem now.
- 23:24Speaker 3: You see.
- 23:25Speaker 4: That's what I'm not sure about, because even when we
- 23:27Speaker 4: could all tell that the Voice was going to be defeated,
- 23:30Speaker 4: Joe Albo was still even privately.
- 23:34Speaker 6: Insisting that I don't know if.
- 23:37Speaker 4: I've ever said, surely at this point, you know alban
- 23:40Speaker 4: Ezi once boasted he'd never lost a newsport but even
- 23:43Speaker 4: surely he must be getting worried now.
- 23:45Speaker 6: I would certainly never reveal any private conversations I have
- 23:48Speaker 6: I haven't had, but certainly I can say the one
- 23:51Speaker 6: thing that troubles me most about Albo is his confidence
- 23:54Speaker 6: and that even and you need that to be a politician,
- 23:56Speaker 6: because you need.
- 23:59Speaker 4: On this show, on this show set Albany, he says
- 24:02Speaker 4: he's going.
- 24:02Speaker 6: To wear but he is very confident. He is very confident,
- 24:06Speaker 6: and he is often in my view, too confident. And
- 24:09Speaker 6: obviously that that confidence was misplaced in the voice, and
- 24:12Speaker 6: that was something I was saying publicly that this is delusion. Yeah,
- 24:17Speaker 6: that's right. And again I think this is a useful
- 24:20Speaker 6: wake up call. I mean, there was a there was
- 24:22Speaker 6: a school of thought among sections of the Labor Party
- 24:24Speaker 6: that the great strategy would be to make demonize Peter
- 24:27Speaker 6: Dutton and make him Australia Donald Trump. Well that doesn't
- 24:30Speaker 6: look too bright, now, does it, because in that scenario,
- 24:33Speaker 6: Peter Dutton wins in a landslide. And I think also
- 24:37Speaker 6: it is a reminder And Albo and the government have
- 24:39Speaker 6: been very good about this since the voice really burnt
- 24:42Speaker 6: their fingers. They have been concentrating wholly on bread and
- 24:45Speaker 6: butter issues, wholly on cost of living matters. They have
- 24:47Speaker 6: not been distracted by any other you know, quote unquote
- 24:50Speaker 6: sort of woke or ideological agendas. When there were issues
- 24:54Speaker 6: around you know, naming people's gender or.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Sect talking about him here all the government hasn't been.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Focused on cost of living at all.
- 25:05Speaker 6: To everybody is supporting let's have a.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Look at Nancy.
- 25:10Speaker 6: But I have I have learned their lessons. There are
- 25:13Speaker 6: a lot of lessons to learn. And if I just
- 25:15Speaker 6: stick to the center, that will be all right. And
- 25:17Speaker 6: this hasn't been Obviously, Liba is going to get bad poll.
- 25:20Speaker 3: You get it, Joe, but the government has not learned.
- 25:24Speaker 3: There's no question.
- 25:27Speaker 4: Now Nancy Pelosi has blamed the loss of the election
- 25:30Speaker 4: on President Joe Biden.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Have a look.
- 25:33Speaker 13: Had the President gotten out sooner, there may been other
- 25:37Speaker 13: candidates in the race. Commonly I think still would have won,
- 25:41Speaker 13: but she may have been stronger having taken her case
- 25:45Speaker 13: to the public sooner. The anticipation was that if there
- 25:50Speaker 13: if the president were to step aside, that there would
- 25:53Speaker 13: be an open primary.
- 25:56Speaker 4: Steve Price, it is true that if Biden would have
- 25:59Speaker 4: stepped aside earlier, a proper primary process could have been run,
- 26:03Speaker 4: A stronger candidate would have been found. It probably wouldn't
- 26:06Speaker 4: have been Kamala Harris.
- 26:10Speaker 12: Proper, Yeah, you'd get a proper primary. You get a
- 26:13Speaker 12: proper candidate, which wasn't Kamala Harris. But Nancy Pelosi, I mean,
- 26:17Speaker 12: who needs her as a friend? I mean Paul old
- 26:19Speaker 12: Joe Biden. I mean, we all felt sorry for Joe
- 26:21Speaker 12: Biden in the for years as he stumbled up the
- 26:24Speaker 12: stairs of the aircraft and couldn't remember his name. But
- 26:27Speaker 12: Pelosi was sitting there that whole time, and they let
- 26:30Speaker 12: him hang there on the branch, and finally they had
- 26:32Speaker 12: to cut him down. But to now come out and
- 26:34Speaker 12: say that, I mean, I really I feel sorry for
- 26:37Speaker 12: Joe Biden, to be honest, I mean, that is a
- 26:39Speaker 12: disgraceful behavior by someone who has you know, worked off
- 26:44Speaker 12: the back of Joe Biden for years.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Look, he should have stepped aside earlier. He was sure.
- 26:50Speaker 4: He was thrown out ultimately by Barack Obama and by
- 26:54Speaker 4: Nancy Pelosi. But also this loss is exposed all the
- 26:57Speaker 4: infighting with the different camps Joe.
- 27:00Speaker 6: No sympathy for Joe Biden whatsoever. It was outrageous to
- 27:03Speaker 6: think that he would run again, given his age and
- 27:06Speaker 6: obvious cognitive decline. I don't think anyone expected that would
- 27:09Speaker 6: happen except for Joe Biden. And perhaps Jill Biden has
- 27:13Speaker 6: a lot to answer for because she seems to be
- 27:14Speaker 6: the one who is sort of juicing him up and
- 27:16Speaker 6: giving him his talking points and give him a little
- 27:18Speaker 6: pat on the back like a toddler when he actually
- 27:20Speaker 6: got something right. I thought it was the most embarrassing
- 27:22Speaker 6: spect I've ever seen. And the idea that you would
- 27:25Speaker 6: torch the entire Democratic Party's chances maybe for a generation,
- 27:29Speaker 6: bring back Donald Trump, who, by your own reckoning, is
- 27:32Speaker 6: the most dangerous president in US history. I don't believe that,
- 27:36Speaker 6: but that's what they say. And they were prepared to
- 27:38Speaker 6: actually roll the dice on that and bring it back
- 27:41Speaker 6: with a candidate they knew couldn't beat anyone else, so
- 27:44Speaker 6: they maybe let Donald lu Donald back into the nomination
- 27:49Speaker 6: or otherwise failed to find a better candidate who could
- 27:52Speaker 6: have beaten Donald Trump or someone else. And they did
- 27:55Speaker 6: all of that, by their own admission, brought the most
- 27:58Speaker 6: dangerous man in the United States dates back into the
- 28:01Speaker 6: White House just for the sake of one man's vanity,
- 28:04Speaker 6: one man's personal legacy project. Torch the entire party for that,
- 28:08Speaker 6: torched the entire country for that. And they say Trump
- 28:10Speaker 6: is the one with dictatorial, anti democratic tendencies.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Give me a break.
- 28:14Speaker 4: The reality is neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris would
- 28:18Speaker 4: have been able to win against Donald Trump. And the
- 28:20Speaker 4: reason the Obamas, in my view, took so long to
- 28:24Speaker 4: come out and endorse Kamala Harris was not because they
- 28:27Speaker 4: wanted another candidate. They probably wanted Michelle Obama to run it.
- 28:30Speaker 4: And you can see that by the books, I mean
- 28:33Speaker 4: reading between the lines, and I did read, by the way,
- 28:36Speaker 4: for the most.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Recent I didn't want to run.
- 28:38Speaker 4: I strongly believe that she does want a political career,
- 28:42Speaker 4: just judging by reading her book. Anyway, time will tell.
- 28:45Speaker 4: Joe hilde Brand, Steve Price, thank you both so much.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Now still to come, Kamala Harris accused of spending over
- 28:52Speaker 4: one million dollars for Oprah Winfrey's appearance. Plus an Israeli
- 28:56Speaker 4: soccer fan who was chased in Amsterdam.
- 28:59Speaker 3: Will join me live next. That's after this welcome back.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Well still to come.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Kamala Harris accused of paying celebrities to appear with her. Also,
- 29:12Speaker 4: there's drama in the Trump camp as Mike Pompeo is
- 29:15Speaker 4: excluded from his administration. I'm going to get to that
- 29:19Speaker 4: with Koshagada. But now let's return to the program. In Amsterdam.
- 29:23Speaker 4: This is an important story. Five people were hospitalized and
- 29:27Speaker 4: twenty to thirty injured. One of those who was injured
- 29:30Speaker 4: is soccer fan off ek Ziv. He says that he
- 29:34Speaker 4: felt the same as he did on the morning of
- 29:36Speaker 4: October seven, and he joins me now live effect, thank
- 29:40Speaker 4: you for your time. You are safely back in Israel.
- 29:43Speaker 4: Now tell us how you were injured on Thursday night
- 29:47Speaker 4: in Amsterdam.
- 29:50Speaker 1: So thank you for having me. And So I got
- 29:55Speaker 1: injured in my head. The becum in my head the
- 30:00Speaker 1: right side.
- 30:02Speaker 5: After we came out from the central station, the metro
- 30:06Speaker 5: station from the stadium.
- 30:09Speaker 1: To the way to DWN Square and saw in the exit.
- 30:15Speaker 14: Waiting for us thirty twenty to thirty guys and attack
- 30:22Speaker 14: our fans, and I got hurt by a stone in
- 30:27Speaker 14: my head and then they sworn at us.
- 30:31Speaker 5: Some being banged fireworks or something like this. But it
- 30:35Speaker 5: felt like a rocket because it it makes a massive,
- 30:40Speaker 5: massive explosion nearby us, and you can you could see
- 30:45Speaker 5: that the smoke come come on from the ground and
- 30:51Speaker 5: it was vital towards very scary situation. And at the
- 30:57Speaker 5: moment I didn't know, I didn't know what to do,
- 31:00Speaker 5: but I know that I need to ride away with
- 31:02Speaker 5: my friend, and another.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Time boy that it was fifteen. I think I don't
- 31:10Speaker 1: know who.
- 31:11Speaker 3: He's for fifteen minutes, Is that what you're saying? You
- 31:14Speaker 3: ran away for fifty.
- 31:16Speaker 5: The boy, the boy who take a hide behind me
- 31:20Speaker 5: on the explosion.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Will come.
- 31:24Speaker 5: There is a boy I think he was fifteen years old,
- 31:29Speaker 5: that's it. He come along from Israel to this game
- 31:32Speaker 5: just to enjoy this beautiful, beautiful soper much and then
- 31:41Speaker 5: we got into this attack. So we knew that if
- 31:46Speaker 5: we don't run away immediately, we could be there, because
- 31:50Speaker 5: we live in this situation every time, every day and
- 31:53Speaker 5: as well, so it's like an emergency situation.
- 32:00Speaker 1: That we know we need to run away immediately.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Affect. Did police help you at all at any point?
- 32:10Speaker 1: They come late?
- 32:11Speaker 5: They come really really late, because when it's happened and
- 32:16Speaker 5: the terrorists Muslims.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Comes very very organized from the start to the end.
- 32:25Speaker 5: And you can see, you could see even the from
- 32:28Speaker 5: Tiktook Lives, Facebook Lives.
- 32:30Speaker 1: From the down Square that the police didn't do nothing.
- 32:35Speaker 5: They're just standing in a line that with their course,
- 32:39Speaker 5: with their cause, the police courts behind them, just standing
- 32:45Speaker 5: just tanding without any help and he could heard the
- 32:49Speaker 5: explosion of the big bangals fireworks. It's one about thrown
- 32:54Speaker 5: into our hands and it could held it in these lives.
- 33:01Speaker 5: So they didn't help. And until they got involved, many
- 33:07Speaker 5: many of our hands get humiliating, rapped, anced and kicked,
- 33:14Speaker 5: and they just it's a weird and said situation.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Because I we can do nothing. No one helped us.
- 33:25Speaker 15: The group of who helped us was actually the ultras
- 33:32Speaker 15: of Macapital Maccabi fanatics who heard the unius about that
- 33:37Speaker 15: attack just in the stadium, and then they come together
- 33:41Speaker 15: to help our guys.
- 33:43Speaker 1: And that is the police didn't come to help us.
- 33:47Speaker 4: It's completely outrageous, totally outrageous that the police and it's
- 33:51Speaker 4: not just you saying this, a lot of the victims
- 33:54Speaker 4: and the eyewitnesses are saying that police did nothing, and
- 33:56Speaker 4: well the proof is in the pudding. No one reportedly
- 34:00Speaker 4: arrested at all despite this roundpage off K.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Thank you. We're so sorry you went through that.
- 34:06Speaker 4: We appreciate you sharing your story with us in Australia tonight.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Thank you, Thank you very much.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Rich Abtadez, thank you very much for having me.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Now still to come after the break, Kamala Harris accused
- 34:19Speaker 4: of splashing out millions of dollars on celebrity appearances at
- 34:22Speaker 4: her campaign rallies, and why Ozzie parents are having fewer babies.
- 34:28Speaker 4: All of that with Cameron Milner and David Gazard. After
- 34:31Speaker 4: this quick break, all right, let's bring in our Monday
- 34:37Speaker 4: night political panel now former chief of staff to Bill
- 34:40Speaker 4: Shortton Cameron Milner and former advisor to John Howard David Gazard.
- 34:44Speaker 4: Great to see you both. Always love this panel on
- 34:46Speaker 4: a Monday. Now let's start with US politics, because we're
- 34:50Speaker 4: learning that Kamala Harris reportedly dropped one million dollars to
- 34:55Speaker 4: get Oprah Winfrey to one of her townhole events. This
- 34:59Speaker 4: is back in September. This report is from the Washington Examiner.
- 35:03Speaker 4: They say that the Harris campaign paid that amount of
- 35:07Speaker 4: money to Winfrey's company, Harpo Productions. Also says that Harris
- 35:13Speaker 4: spent or her campaign spent six figures on building a
- 35:16Speaker 4: set for Kamala's appearance on the podcast Call Her Daddy,
- 35:20Speaker 4: and then the campaign also reportedly spent up to twenty
- 35:23Speaker 4: million on swing state constants on the eve of the election.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Including on Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.
- 35:31Speaker 4: Now, Cameron, from your experience in politics, and you've also
- 35:35Speaker 4: run state campaigns for labor. All this money on celebrity endorsements,
- 35:40Speaker 4: but I mean, and even Taylor Swift, But it looks
- 35:43Speaker 4: like voters just sold through it.
- 35:47Speaker 16: Well I think they did, and I think elites don't
- 35:49Speaker 16: work and celebrities don't work, Ashari. I mean, it didn't
- 35:51Speaker 16: work for Albanese with the Albanize voice. It tanked with
- 35:54Speaker 16: Alan Joyce from that campaign, and it looked terrible. For
- 35:57Speaker 16: Kamala Trump looked authentic and Marla hand the microphone to
- 36:01Speaker 16: get another Hollywood celebrity, another woke lefty on the stage.
- 36:05Speaker 2: But this is much worse. This is much worse.
- 36:06Speaker 16: If this is true, this is cash for comet on
- 36:08Speaker 16: a grand scale, cash for comet, because we don't know
- 36:11Speaker 16: where they were just ringing a line off an auto
- 36:13Speaker 16: queue for money, or where they actually believe what they
- 36:15Speaker 16: were saying about Kamala Harris. And that would be really
- 36:17Speaker 16: really bad if that's actually the case. As I say,
- 36:20Speaker 16: cash for Comet Kamala.
- 36:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a good line, David Gazard, The celebrities actually
- 36:27Speaker 4: could have worked against Kamala Harris given that cost of
- 36:30Speaker 4: living and inflation was the biggest issue in the US election.
- 36:36Speaker 17: I was living inflation, and it was the working class
- 36:40Speaker 17: that really sort of said, hey, we need a leader
- 36:43Speaker 17: who's in touch with our aspirations and our concerns. You
- 36:46Speaker 17: couldn't really find anyone further away from those aspirations than
- 36:51Speaker 17: elites living in Hollywood who are paid, really to pretend
- 36:56Speaker 17: to be somebody else, attending parties with p did on
- 37:00Speaker 17: one weekend and then telling you how to vote on
- 37:03Speaker 17: the next. I mean, I think I'm with Cameron here.
- 37:06Speaker 17: It's concerning too that Oprah doesn't sort of front up
- 37:10Speaker 17: and say, well, I'm here as a friend.
- 37:13Speaker 2: She has to be.
- 37:14Speaker 17: Paid to appear to tell people how to vote, which
- 37:18Speaker 17: would make it even worse. But it really shows a
- 37:21Speaker 17: campaign team hopelessly out of touch with what voters were
- 37:24Speaker 17: telling them.
- 37:25Speaker 4: A lot of lessons to learn from the US election.
- 37:28Speaker 4: I'm going to come back to Donald Trump a bit
- 37:30Speaker 4: later in the show, because we have learned this morning
- 37:33Speaker 4: that he's excluded Mike Pompeia from his team. I'm going
- 37:37Speaker 4: to come back to that with Koshergata. But I want
- 37:38Speaker 4: to have a look at the fertility rate in Australia. Now,
- 37:41Speaker 4: back in two thousand and eight, the average woman was
- 37:44Speaker 4: having two children, but then in twenty twenty three it
- 37:48Speaker 4: fell to a record low of one point five children
- 37:52Speaker 4: born to a woman over her lifetime one point five.
- 37:56Speaker 4: Now the center of a population is sounding the alarm
- 37:59Speaker 4: over this, even predicting that school finding will need to
- 38:02Speaker 4: be cut in the twenty thirties because they're saying there
- 38:05Speaker 4: might not be enough students. Cameron, social and economic issues,
- 38:10Speaker 4: the housing crisis, this is all being blamed.
- 38:15Speaker 16: Well, it's the long term legacy of Albo's cost of
- 38:18Speaker 16: living crisis, isn't it. I mean, we're living grocery prices
- 38:20Speaker 16: and petrol and mortgages on a daily basis. But clearly
- 38:24Speaker 16: parents are deciding that children who do cost a lot
- 38:26Speaker 16: of money. I have for myself, so I can speak
- 38:28Speaker 16: for that. But certainly children cost money and people are
- 38:31Speaker 16: worried about the future, worried about the cost of living.
- 38:33Speaker 16: So this is the long term legacy of Albanize's failure
- 38:36Speaker 16: on cost of living Frustralia.
- 38:38Speaker 4: Because you know, it's not even far off to think
- 38:40Speaker 4: that this is the reason, David. Because life is so expensive,
- 38:44Speaker 4: families just can't afford to have as many children as
- 38:47Speaker 4: they once could.
- 38:49Speaker 17: This is a longer term trend and it goes to
- 38:52Speaker 17: people worrying about the effect of their children on the environment,
- 38:56Speaker 17: which is sort of laughable given for utility rates in
- 38:59Speaker 17: other countries.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Don't forget that.
- 39:02Speaker 17: You know, back in the mid two thousands, the then
- 39:06Speaker 17: Treasurer was trying to arrest this with it with a
- 39:08Speaker 17: baby boners something this government has as explicitly ruled out.
- 39:14Speaker 17: But it comes with the attendant problems. You have an
- 39:16Speaker 17: aging population consuming more health health care, living for longer,
- 39:21Speaker 17: and you've got less people entering the tax base paying
- 39:25Speaker 17: taxes to pay for all those services for the aging population,
- 39:29Speaker 17: so that the boomers are getting by on their savings
- 39:34Speaker 17: at the moment, but it will be a declining workforce
- 39:36Speaker 17: and a radically changed tax system, with taxes in other
- 39:41Speaker 17: areas having a rise to pay for those bills in
- 39:43Speaker 17: the future.
- 39:45Speaker 4: All right, I want to get both of your views
- 39:46Speaker 4: on the news pole, because this is kind of an
- 39:48Speaker 4: amazing news pole today. For Peter Dutton, his primary or
- 39:52Speaker 4: coalition's primary now forty percent. This is according to the
- 39:56Speaker 4: news poll in the Australian newspaper front page today and
- 40:00Speaker 4: with the primary of forty percent, could Peter Dutton be
- 40:03Speaker 4: Prime minister if he continues to head in this direction.
- 40:09Speaker 16: Well, the trend is Peter's friend. I mean, it's been
- 40:11Speaker 16: going for a while now, this news poll trend away
- 40:14Speaker 16: from Labor and growing and growing the Liberal primary. I think,
- 40:17Speaker 16: David and you and I have spoken this about this.
- 40:19Speaker 16: Dutton still has time, so he's coming. He's coming from
- 40:22Speaker 16: a long way behind. But with six months to go
- 40:24Speaker 16: before the next federal election, this trend is really really
- 40:26Speaker 16: worrying for Labor. And the worry for Labor is that
- 40:29Speaker 16: it is we can't get out of the corner. Albanie
- 40:31Speaker 16: hasn't found a way to get the primary to increase.
- 40:34Speaker 16: And in fact what's happening is Greens are going backwards.
- 40:37Speaker 16: Now that's so bad thing, Sharie, but necessarily the Liberal
- 40:40Speaker 16: primary is becoming huge and that's a real long term
- 40:43Speaker 16: problem for Labor as they face the election in only
- 40:45Speaker 16: six months time.
- 40:46Speaker 4: Look, Labor has in recent times run excellent campaigns, also
- 40:50Speaker 4: excellent scare campaigns. But David, it does seem and you know,
- 40:55Speaker 4: we hear reports that they might run a scare campaign
- 40:57Speaker 4: on abortion and other issues. It seems as though voters
- 41:01Speaker 4: are starting to cement their view of exactly who the
- 41:05Speaker 4: Prime Minister is and they think that he's weak and incompetent.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Yeah. I was having this very conversation this morning. Share.
- 41:13Speaker 17: It's an interesting thing you're saying. I'd say describe it
- 41:17Speaker 17: this way. It's like the voters are going to a
- 41:19Speaker 17: new restaurant with a new government. They order up the food,
- 41:22Speaker 17: they're not happy with it. Do they just decide to
- 41:26Speaker 17: eat it and pay the bill and not come back
- 41:27Speaker 17: to the restaurant or do they send it back? I
- 41:31Speaker 17: think that the jury is out on that, but it's
- 41:33Speaker 17: clear that Anthony Elberonezi is facing a trifecta of trouble
- 41:37Speaker 17: politically because he's losing the primary vote. The two PP
- 41:42Speaker 17: is going against him and he arguably could be behind there,
- 41:45Speaker 17: but he's also in mortal danger of giving up preferred PM.
- 41:50Speaker 17: And you can survive when one of your numbers is
- 41:53Speaker 17: higher than the other as leader, but when all three
- 41:56Speaker 17: of crost you've got a very very difficult couple of
- 41:59Speaker 17: weeks in parliament to when the year when that confluence
- 42:03Speaker 17: of numbers occurs.
- 42:05Speaker 4: It's interesting for over a year now, and I think
- 42:08Speaker 4: you take it back to probably the Voice campaign. There
- 42:11Speaker 4: hasn't been really a week that Alberanezi has won politically.
- 42:15Speaker 4: He's just moving from problem to problem to problem, and
- 42:18Speaker 4: he keeps trying to have distractions by announcing policies, but
- 42:22Speaker 4: it just doesn't work.
- 42:23Speaker 16: Cameron, Well, no, because it's Albanese who's the frontman for it.
- 42:28Speaker 16: I mean he was a frontman for the Albanese Voice,
- 42:30Speaker 16: is the frontman for every labor announcement, and he's not
- 42:32Speaker 16: dealing with a critical issue, the number one issue for Australians,
- 42:35Speaker 16: cost a living. He's not dealing with it maturely and
- 42:39Speaker 16: sensibly and really, and yet Peter Dartner's out there saying
- 42:41Speaker 16: we've got policies and plans for that. So no, Albanize
- 42:44Speaker 16: is in all sorts of trouble and labor while albo
- 42:46Speaker 16: Leads is leading towards election loss.
- 42:50Speaker 4: Also, the times that we're living in national securities a
- 42:53Speaker 4: concern as well. We're seeing this violence, whether it's youth crime,
- 42:57Speaker 4: whether it's the protesters and a figure Peter Dutton, you
- 43:01Speaker 4: know what used to be his weakness, what would have
- 43:04Speaker 4: been considered his weaknesses, that he comes across as too
- 43:07Speaker 4: hard and too tough, David Gazzard, this is now working
- 43:10Speaker 4: for him.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:12Speaker 17: In politics we call those equity positions. And Peter Dutton
- 43:16Speaker 17: certainly owns. The Liberal Party traditionally owns the area of
- 43:19Speaker 17: security and the economy.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Two of the biggest voat drivers.
- 43:23Speaker 17: I mean, Peter is a former policeman, has run home affairs,
- 43:27Speaker 17: border control, that sort of thing, so that's running in
- 43:29Speaker 17: his favor. On the other side is Anthony Albernez, a
- 43:32Speaker 17: member of the socialist left faction of the Labor Party.
- 43:35Speaker 17: If ever you could find that the faction that was
- 43:38Speaker 17: not put in place to run tight fiscal budget policy,
- 43:43Speaker 17: it would be the socialist Left. So Anthony Abernez has
- 43:46Speaker 17: never really had to confront these issues. He's probably not
- 43:49Speaker 17: really that interesting in running these issues. He's been more
- 43:52Speaker 17: of an activist in the city, you know, quasi green
- 43:56Speaker 17: socialist left faction Labor Party MP. He suddenly finds himself
- 44:00Speaker 17: with having to deal with a global economic problem as
- 44:04Speaker 17: well as a huge security problem.
- 44:05Speaker 2: It's not his areas of comfort.
- 44:08Speaker 4: No, absolutely, all right, David Gazzard, Cameron, me and I
- 44:11Speaker 4: thank you both very much for joining me. Still to come,
- 44:15Speaker 4: Donald Trump starts to announce some key appointments I'm going
- 44:18Speaker 4: to tell you which after the break, plus the internal
- 44:21Speaker 4: turmoil in the Trump camp as Mike Pompeo is given
- 44:25Speaker 4: the boot.
- 44:26Speaker 3: All that and more with Koshagada after the Break.
- 44:32Speaker 8: Well.
- 44:32Speaker 4: Mike Pompeo and Nicki Haley have both been snubbed for
- 44:35Speaker 4: a spot in the Trump administration.
- 44:38Speaker 18: Now.
- 44:38Speaker 4: Donald Trump took to social media. He thanked them for
- 44:40Speaker 4: their service, but said they wouldn't be in his team.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Now.
- 44:44Speaker 4: This isn't a surprise for Nicky Haley. She ran against
- 44:47Speaker 4: Trump in the primaries. She was pretty critical about him personally,
- 44:51Speaker 4: although they did make up.
- 44:52Speaker 3: But this was a massive shock.
- 44:54Speaker 4: For Mike Pompeo and his supporters. It had been widely
- 44:58Speaker 4: reported that he was being considered for the role of
- 45:01Speaker 4: Defense Secretary. He would have been terrific in that position.
- 45:04Speaker 4: The Wall Street Journal reports that this decision could be
- 45:09Speaker 4: the influence of Trump's son, Don Junior, but also Tucker Carlson.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Now.
- 45:15Speaker 4: Don Junior retweeted a MAGA supporter who said this, The
- 45:19Speaker 4: stop Pompeo movement is great, but it's not enough right now.
- 45:23Speaker 4: We need maximum pressure to keep all neokons and warhawks
- 45:27Speaker 4: out of.
- 45:28Speaker 3: The Trump administration.
- 45:29Speaker 4: They have had their time at the table and brought
- 45:31Speaker 4: nothing but disaster to the world and this country. And
- 45:35Speaker 4: Don Junior replied to this saying, agreed, one hundred, one hundred,
- 45:39Speaker 4: one hundred percent.
- 45:40Speaker 3: I'm on it.
- 45:41Speaker 4: Okay, let's bring in our Sky News Countrybut kosher gada
- 45:44Speaker 4: now kosher. I think this is a deeply disappointing move.
- 45:47Speaker 4: Mike Pompeo was the best of the best in the
- 45:50Speaker 4: Trump administration.
- 45:51Speaker 3: He was solid on Ukraine, on China, on Israel.
- 45:55Speaker 4: His view isn't unnecessary war, it's peace through strength. Now,
- 46:00Speaker 4: I don't want to be too judgmental until we see
- 46:02Speaker 4: who Trump does a point, but this seems to be
- 46:05Speaker 4: a worrying sign about the influence of some of the
- 46:07Speaker 4: isolationist figures who don't understand that actually America has a
- 46:12Speaker 4: critical role to play as leader of the free world.
- 46:17Speaker 18: You know, I think what this is going to come
- 46:19Speaker 18: down to, Shari, is the underlying framework here is there
- 46:23Speaker 18: is a civil war really happening within the right side
- 46:25Speaker 18: of politics in America and in the Republican Party, and
- 46:28Speaker 18: foreign policy is one of two or three key issues
- 46:31Speaker 18: that's having a new fault line drawn. And as you say,
- 46:34Speaker 18: there is the group that believes a return to non interventionalism,
- 46:39Speaker 18: as they would put it, is the way forward when
- 46:42Speaker 18: you want to balance all the problems that are there
- 46:44Speaker 18: domestically with the way we have to look at our
- 46:47Speaker 18: place in the world. And then there's the other faction
- 46:49Speaker 18: that Mike Pompeiu was certainly part of. Nikki Hiley, would
- 46:52Speaker 18: be John Bolton who was involved in the last administration,
- 46:55Speaker 18: and others. And I think what you're going to see
- 46:57Speaker 18: is this battlefield. It's only not even been one week
- 47:00Speaker 18: yet since President electors come in, but I think he
- 47:03Speaker 18: and his supporters, whether it's Don Junior and Tucker and others,
- 47:06Speaker 18: even RFK and Tulsea Gabert and all of them are
- 47:09Speaker 18: from that former camp, which is they want non interventionalism
- 47:12Speaker 18: and want to pull back of US involvement actively kinetically
- 47:15Speaker 18: in the world. And you are going to see that
- 47:18Speaker 18: horse trading and conflict I think within the party really
- 47:22Speaker 18: spill out.
- 47:23Speaker 4: It was also such a surprise because not that long ago,
- 47:25Speaker 4: about a week and a half or two weeks ago,
- 47:28Speaker 4: Trump all but endorsed Pompeo and thanked him for everything
- 47:32Speaker 4: he'd done to keep the world a safer place.
- 47:34Speaker 3: At a rally. Bill Kosher.
- 47:35Speaker 4: Trump has announced at least three key appointments. Can you
- 47:39Speaker 4: take us through those three figures that we know about
- 47:42Speaker 4: so far?
- 47:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:45Speaker 18: So the first one is Susie Wiles, who was his
- 47:47Speaker 18: campaign manager, and he is appointing her as chief of staff.
- 47:50Speaker 18: That's an interesting one too, because she sort of grew
- 47:52Speaker 18: up under the Bush era of Republican politics, and I
- 47:56Speaker 18: think she was chief of staff of Ron de Santis
- 47:58Speaker 18: and his primary campaign well or campaign manager. So it's
- 48:01Speaker 18: interesting that she's sort of been in other parts of
- 48:04Speaker 18: those different fracturings in the Republican Party. But she has
- 48:07Speaker 18: definitely earned his trust and credibility given the very successful
- 48:10Speaker 18: campaign that he ran. She doesn't seek the limelight. She
- 48:13Speaker 18: seems to be a very disciplined person and somebody who's
- 48:16Speaker 18: able to manage Trump as much as Trump is manageable.
- 48:18Speaker 3: So that's one, and she'll be the.
- 48:20Speaker 18: Gatekeeper for a lot of people having access to Trump.
- 48:24Speaker 18: The second is Congresswoman Elis Stephonic of New York has
- 48:28Speaker 18: reportedly been offered the role of UN Ambassador. That is
- 48:31Speaker 18: a position to require Senate confirmation, so it won't be
- 48:33Speaker 18: official until the Senate comes back in and is able
- 48:36Speaker 18: to run that process. But everybody expects that that will
- 48:39Speaker 18: go through smoothly, and she's accepted it. She's somebody who
- 48:42Speaker 18: rose to prominence with her addressing the issues on college
- 48:46Speaker 18: campuses in the US in the wake of October seventh
- 48:49Speaker 18: and anti Semitic protests and all of that. So her
- 48:51Speaker 18: appointment will be quite interesting as our representative to the
- 48:55Speaker 18: un specifically given what's happening in that region. And then
- 48:58Speaker 18: the third one is the borders are Tom Horman, who's
- 49:01Speaker 18: a retired ICE director, So he's a retired director of
- 49:04Speaker 18: the Immigration Enforcement Agency and he's coming out of retirement
- 49:07Speaker 18: to serve as a czar, which is not a cabinet
- 49:10Speaker 18: position or doesn't have official authority per se, but he'll
- 49:13Speaker 18: be the force, the face rather of that issue, which
- 49:15Speaker 18: was a signature issue of Trump with the master deportations
- 49:18Speaker 18: and all of that. So that one, I think also
- 49:20Speaker 18: signals that Trump is so far intending to keep his
- 49:23Speaker 18: signature campaign promise with respective deportations.
- 49:25Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, And I think Stephanick did a brilliant job
- 49:30Speaker 4: when she was holding those university chancellors to account.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Kosha got it. Great to see you.
- 49:34Speaker 4: As always on a Monday night, and thanks everyone for
- 49:37Speaker 4: watching tonight. I'll see you tomorrow at at eight. And
- 49:40Speaker 4: I think we're about to rename the Man Cave the
- 49:42Speaker 4: Woman Cave because he is Dniki di Giorgio
