- 0:03Speaker 1: do we have a panel for you today.
- 0:04Speaker 2: The Stream's Screenwriting Expert panel of new voices in Hollywood.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Costumes are character.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Buck Mary Kill Wide shot, two shot close up.
- 0:14Speaker 4: On Artists on Artists on artists.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Do you know why they call it show business? I
- 0:19Speaker 1: always wondered that.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Have you ever tried hitting a high sea? On the
- 0:27Speaker 2: high seas? For some of today's guests, that's their job.
- 0:31Speaker 2: That's right. This week on Artists on artists and Artists
- 0:34Speaker 2: and artists, we're talking to cruise ship performers.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Through the ups and the downs, the rocking of the boat,
- 0:40Speaker 1: and yes, sea sickness. We're hearing what makes cruise ship
- 0:44Speaker 1: performing so difficult.
- 0:46Speaker 4: We'll just be able to dive into a couple of
- 0:49Speaker 4: specific ways that these performers make a living in the
- 0:53Speaker 4: middle of the ocean.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Hello.
- 1:01Speaker 1: My name is Evelyn McPhee. I've been on the Royal
- 1:04Speaker 1: Mediterranean since nineteen eighty five. I play Old Deuteronomy in cats.
- 1:10Speaker 2: It's great to see everybody. My name is Rick Rocket.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I am the lead singer of the Trap rock cover
- 1:20Speaker 2: band Rick Rocket and the spring Time chickens. I perform
- 1:25Speaker 2: over in the rock and Roll Lounge on the Lido deck.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I've been doing that for about fifteen years. We really
- 1:33Speaker 2: get things rockin' every night from about five thirty to
- 1:37Speaker 2: seven thirty, right before the big show. And it's really
- 1:42Speaker 2: great to see everybody here. It's good to be back together.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Hi.
- 1:45Speaker 5: I'm Soucy. I'm I'm a dancer on the boat. Been
- 1:50Speaker 5: there for many, many many years, belly dance and swing
- 1:55Speaker 5: dance and teach the okiddos how to waltz.
- 1:59Speaker 6: Yeah, Hi, I'm big Mama, Julia.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Good to see mama.
- 2:07Speaker 6: Oh. Yes, I've also been on the ship for a while.
- 2:11Speaker 7: And oh gosh, I'm just.
- 2:13Speaker 6: You're all my children. You're all my babies, of course, and.
- 2:16Speaker 5: I do have Mamula, love you, love you all in
- 2:21Speaker 5: my bosom.
- 2:22Speaker 8: And I have six dogs, don't tell.
- 2:27Speaker 6: And uh, hopefully my next pet will be a baby
- 2:30Speaker 6: working on that.
- 2:32Speaker 8: Thanks.
- 2:33Speaker 6: Oh, and I'm a singer.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Hi. Uh, my name is Derek Bincon. Hi, I'm Georgie
- 2:43Speaker 4: and I am the ventriloquist on the cruise ship. This
- 2:47Speaker 4: is Georgie. Say hello Georgie again.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Oh, what the fuck do you want from me?
- 2:51Speaker 4: Okay? Georgie. He gets a little feisty. Okay, yeah, that's
- 2:56Speaker 4: what I do. I have a ventriloquist.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Now, I have missed Georgie. I will say, I've been
- 3:02Speaker 1: on the Loajs deck for quite some time and I
- 3:05Speaker 1: miss his spicy character.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Oh Georgie. You know, Georgie is pretty spicy all the time.
- 3:12Speaker 4: And that's the fun thing about Georgie. You know, when
- 3:14Speaker 4: you get in front of a crowd on the seas,
- 3:16Speaker 4: you know they're looking for you know, we're in the middle.
- 3:19Speaker 4: There's no rules, there's no laws in the middle of
- 3:21Speaker 4: the ocean. So Georgie could get a little spicy, you know,
- 3:25Speaker 4: and I.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Would I would like to say I think Georgie has
- 3:27Speaker 2: actually gotten spicier since I've gotten to know him.
- 3:29Speaker 4: By the way, Yeah, definitely, Georgie has come out of
- 3:32Speaker 4: the shell. Hey, I'm not a bird anymore. I don't
- 3:35Speaker 4: have a shell.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I'm not in an egg.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Okay, Georgie, calm down, com down. Georgie is a large
- 3:42Speaker 4: parrot bird and yeah.
- 3:44Speaker 2: We have all comes in sometimes and he sings the
- 3:47Speaker 2: piny Colada song with me.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Cold.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yeah, george getting caught in the rain. Yeah, he likes
- 3:56Speaker 2: to you gotta come Tuesday nights. He usually sneaks on them.
- 3:59Speaker 2: That's the rock and roll lounge on the Lido deck.
- 4:02Speaker 2: We could always use people to come by if you
- 4:05Speaker 2: are around. It is fun down there. I also wanted
- 4:09Speaker 2: to bring up we're all on the same cruise ship.
- 4:11Speaker 2: I don't know if we mentioned that. Uh, it's I
- 4:14Speaker 2: you know, it's fun to see you guys again on
- 4:16Speaker 2: dry land.
- 4:18Speaker 5: It's so fun because we know Eachada, and we've been
- 4:21Speaker 5: not Ey Jada and swam with each other.
- 4:26Speaker 3: I swam with you guys in Barcelona's.
- 4:28Speaker 2: On swimming in Barcelona, in that pool.
- 4:33Speaker 4: I'll never forget that one pool that was such a
- 4:36Speaker 4: nice pool.
- 4:37Speaker 1: It's great when they let us visit the pools because
- 4:40Speaker 1: you know, we're in this big ocean. But when we
- 4:43Speaker 1: finally get the opportunity to flap around in the chlorinated water,
- 4:48Speaker 1: that's when we really shine.
- 4:50Speaker 2: It really feels like resistance training swimming in the ocean,
- 4:53Speaker 2: and then when you get into a pool, it's so
- 4:55Speaker 2: much easier. I could talk about this for hours and
- 4:58Speaker 2: a half with every one of you vidual points.
- 5:02Speaker 1: We do have a lot of time to talk to
- 5:04Speaker 1: each other on the ship. Can everyone go around. How
- 5:08Speaker 1: long has everybody been on the ship.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Well, I'll start ten years for me, ten years in October.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Twenty years for Big Mama.
- 5:16Speaker 3: I'll be down here for six sexy years.
- 5:19Speaker 4: I've been on the ship for about two three months now,
- 5:23Speaker 4: I think two or three months.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I've been on the ship for forty five years. And
- 5:28Speaker 1: I will say, Big Mama, I'm considerably older than you,
- 5:32Speaker 1: but you've always felt like a mother to me, and
- 5:34Speaker 1: I want to say I appreciate you for that.
- 5:38Speaker 8: You're all my babies.
- 5:39Speaker 7: Oh, it's what a sensual experience motherhood. You know. Just
- 5:46Speaker 7: human touch is so important on the ship. And I
- 5:48Speaker 7: don't even mean, you know, in a sexual way. You know,
- 5:51Speaker 7: human touch is how we all stay happy, and we
- 5:53Speaker 7: stay sane and we stay not depressed, right because obviously
- 5:57Speaker 7: we lost George.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Rest in peace to that motherfucker, am I right?
- 6:03Speaker 5: Yeah, cheeky horny.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I ever met, and I miss him every single day.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Oh, believe me, I miss him at night. I'll tell
- 6:13Speaker 1: you that.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Yeah, Mama, Julie, you had a yeah, you had a
- 6:17Speaker 4: special relationship with George, didn't you.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Oh yes, yeah, yeah, Wait what's that now?
- 6:28Speaker 7: Uh?
- 6:28Speaker 6: Oh, Evelyn, were you sleeping with George.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Big Mama, Julia, were you sleeping with George?
- 6:34Speaker 7: Well, our naked bodies were together, and what happened happened?
- 6:39Speaker 1: You know, God damn it, this keeps happening.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Well, if I guess that's sleeping with them, than I
- 6:44Speaker 4: did too. Okay, Georgie, go down. He did not sleep
- 6:47Speaker 4: with George.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Oh, I am.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Sorry. He's got a mind of his own. But yes,
- 6:53Speaker 4: I also was sleeping with George.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It's a shame when you lose him. You know, it's
- 6:58Speaker 1: a shame when you lose him.
- 7:00Speaker 5: I let's change the subject and get a little cheeky
- 7:02Speaker 5: and move on. I'm getting sad. I'm gonna pick up
- 7:05Speaker 5: a question from the fish Bow. Name all your responsibilities
- 7:08Speaker 5: on the ship. That's fun because we all do different
- 7:11Speaker 5: things sometimes. I know Rick sings a little, but he
- 7:15Speaker 5: sings different nights. You have different songs, right.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know we have all kinds of crazy
- 7:21Speaker 2: songs that we do on the show. It is so
- 7:24Speaker 2: much fun. Rock and Roll Lounge five thirty to seven
- 7:28Speaker 2: thirty every single night on the Lido deck. We'd love
- 7:30Speaker 2: for you guys to come out. I'm gonna be honest
- 7:32Speaker 2: with you. I haven't had a guest in about four months,
- 7:37Speaker 2: but we keep the show going in case. You know,
- 7:40Speaker 2: I like to think somebody can hear us because we're
- 7:42Speaker 2: such a loud thing. We have a lot of fun
- 7:46Speaker 2: songs we got going on. I'm singing Pina Colada by
- 7:49Speaker 2: Rupert Holmes. I'm singing Key Largo by Bertie Higgins. We got,
- 7:53Speaker 2: of course, Rambling In by the All Men Brothers, White
- 7:56Speaker 2: Sun by the Doobie Brothers. That's kind of a sad one,
- 7:58Speaker 2: but the lyrics art. If you catch my drift, I
- 8:01Speaker 2: could go on and on. Well I can.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Actually I hear you from my room. And it's Copa
- 8:06Speaker 1: Cabana every night it's seven exactly.
- 8:09Speaker 2: It is it is. We say it's five o'clock somewhere,
- 8:12Speaker 2: but it's seven o'clock here, and at seven o'clock we
- 8:14Speaker 2: play Copa Cabana. Her name was Lola. She was a
- 8:17Speaker 2: shew girl. That's kind of the stuff that I do. Uh,
- 8:21Speaker 2: it is a blast, and I would say themes more
- 8:26Speaker 2: come and go with the outfits that I wear. I
- 8:30Speaker 2: usually play the same songs, but sometimes I do the
- 8:33Speaker 2: ass a captain. Sometimes I do them as a man
- 8:35Speaker 2: in a Hawaiian shirt. Sometimes I do the mass someone
- 8:38Speaker 2: wearing a bathing suit.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 8:41Speaker 5: On Tuesdays, you see happy birthday, right, the al legame dude.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Tuesday, we lump all the birthdays for the week together
- 8:46Speaker 2: into one day.
- 8:48Speaker 1: And I like to hear all those guests that aren't
- 8:50Speaker 1: at the show. I like to think that they can
- 8:52Speaker 1: hear it.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I did that to get an audience, right, and and
- 8:56Speaker 2: I'm glad you hear it. Did that to try to
- 8:58Speaker 2: get everybody together, because we said, there's got to be
- 9:01Speaker 2: some people. There's six thousand people in this boat. There's
- 9:03Speaker 2: got to be a few people with their birthday. They
- 9:06Speaker 2: haven't come yet, but we have, of course, the campaign.
- 9:10Speaker 2: The events director, Mark Williams, he always announces it in
- 9:13Speaker 2: the morning and I hear him. I hear him, and
- 9:15Speaker 2: I call him out.
- 9:16Speaker 3: If he doesn't mister boss man.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Mister boss man, Mark Williams.
- 9:20Speaker 7: Mark is definitely, Mark is definitely the daddy of this ship.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Absolutely. Well, tell me about your shows, Mama Dula. What
- 9:29Speaker 2: kind of stuff What is your show specifically that you do?
- 9:33Speaker 7: Oh well, I start the morning with my preschool show
- 9:39Speaker 7: or pre you know, uh pre you know, for the kids,
- 9:41Speaker 7: and we do all the you know.
- 9:42Speaker 8: All the different fairy tale songs, and I just love that.
- 9:46Speaker 8: And uh, and then I fill in wherever needed. You know,
- 9:51Speaker 8: I've filled in for every show. I've played every role
- 9:55Speaker 8: on the ship. I like to just show up and say,
- 10:00Speaker 8: put me to work.
- 10:03Speaker 6: But I'd say my favorite.
- 10:05Speaker 7: Show is is the Janis Joplin. Uh is that because
- 10:10Speaker 7: I do have a you know, I have a soft
- 10:11Speaker 7: spot for Dre because she was such a mama.
- 10:20Speaker 1: You know, she was a mama she was.
- 10:22Speaker 3: I love that song. I love when you do Jennie Choplin.
- 10:25Speaker 3: I love it, love it.
- 10:26Speaker 4: I never forget the first time I saw you do
- 10:28Speaker 4: Janis it was it was it was actually amazing for
- 10:31Speaker 4: me because it felt like, you know, I wasn't alive
- 10:34Speaker 4: for Janis Joplin, but it felt like what it would
- 10:36Speaker 4: be like to see her.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and I I remember the first time I saw
- 10:39Speaker 1: you do that, I thought you were Janis Joplin. I
- 10:42Speaker 1: turned to my friend Evelyn at the time, my other
- 10:44Speaker 1: friend named Evelyn. My name is also Evelin. I said, Evelyn,
- 10:48Speaker 1: can you believe they got Janis Joplin? And she said,
- 10:50Speaker 1: you idiot, that's not Janis Joplin, that's mama Julia, May
- 10:54Speaker 1: she rest in peace.
- 10:57Speaker 7: Let me tell you, twenty seven was a hard dude
- 10:59Speaker 7: for me, because that's obviously. Janis died of an overdose
- 11:03Speaker 7: when she was twenty seven. And as we all know,
- 11:05Speaker 7: I was in a dark place on the ship.
- 11:06Speaker 6: When I was twenty seven.
- 11:07Speaker 4: How long ago was.
- 11:08Speaker 7: That, Well, I'm forty four now, so you do the math.
- 11:12Speaker 7: But I was standing on the bow of the ship
- 11:15Speaker 7: and I was debating whether to jump.
- 11:20Speaker 6: And I remember, Evelyn, you came up behind me. I
- 11:24Speaker 6: thought you were gonna push me.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I like to pull that little joke because you know,
- 11:29Speaker 1: everybody's so depressed. Sometimes they walk up to the end
- 11:32Speaker 1: of the ship and they're like, oh, I'm not gonna
- 11:34Speaker 1: do it, and I give them a little push just
- 11:36Speaker 1: to see if they would. I like to think it's
- 11:38Speaker 1: a fun, little practical joke. It usually it usually detenses
- 11:41Speaker 1: the boot, you know, and then nobody wants to kill
- 11:43Speaker 1: themselves because they laughing too much.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I'm with there, I'm right there with you. I make
- 11:47Speaker 2: jokes right at the bow, or everyone kills themselves as well.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Sometimes they like to give out punch cards. It's just
- 11:54Speaker 2: gallows humor. Gallows humor.
- 11:57Speaker 7: You gotta have humor because it can be a dark,
- 12:00Speaker 7: dark depress.
- 12:01Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I will say, I feel like, you know,
- 12:03Speaker 4: like at this point, I feel like everybody that's worked
- 12:06Speaker 4: on a cruise ship has thought about just jumping off
- 12:08Speaker 4: the front or the back.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Am I calling out, let's say it like we see it.
- 12:11Speaker 3: I feel like, but you'll be lying if you didn't
- 12:13Speaker 3: say so.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Look, the truth is I've never what I have, Kay, George,
- 12:19Speaker 4: George is always three months for.
- 12:21Speaker 1: You and George three months you already feel that way.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Normally that doesn't set in until about eighteen months, so
- 12:27Speaker 1: three years or so.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Yeah, well I'm actually I actually joined this cruise ship
- 12:31Speaker 4: to escape my ex, just try to get away from
- 12:34Speaker 4: that situation.
- 12:36Speaker 1: And so you were all ready to ro.
- 12:38Speaker 4: I was very so to speak. I said, it's either
- 12:41Speaker 4: it's either I jump off a cliff or join a
- 12:44Speaker 4: cruise ship. And luckily I talked to him in to
- 12:46Speaker 4: joining a cruise ship. Okay, Georgie, you dog id.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Can I ask, mister puppet man, did you do ventriloquism
- 12:54Speaker 2: before you joined the show?
- 12:55Speaker 4: Not once, not ever. I blindly submitted a resume. I
- 13:00Speaker 4: was I was like a gym instructor before this didn't
- 13:04Speaker 4: have one credit of virtualism, said I'd be up to it.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Show up. They said, build your puppet. I built it,
- 13:12Speaker 4: and I came to life.
- 13:14Speaker 1: And I will say, the puppet that you have on
- 13:17Speaker 1: it is reflective of the fact that you've never done
- 13:19Speaker 1: this before. It's kind of a sock sort of thing
- 13:23Speaker 1: for the viewers at home.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Well, well, Georgie, you know he always comments about his
- 13:27Speaker 4: own look. You know, at least I'm not in Hollywood
- 13:30Speaker 4: on the series, I can look like this and that
- 13:33Speaker 4: gets usually a big laugh.
- 13:34Speaker 2: That's usually a big laugh. And I wanted to bring it.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I wanted to bring up your other puppet. You use
- 13:39Speaker 2: Cowboy RUI, which, if I don't want to surprise anyone,
- 13:42Speaker 2: but is clearly a woody stuffed animal that you have
- 13:45Speaker 2: gutted that you just kind of leaving.
- 13:47Speaker 4: I don't know what you're talking. I didn't. I don't
- 13:49Speaker 4: know who cowboy pounding.
- 13:51Speaker 2: There a partner here, he is, my mother prowdy guy
- 13:54Speaker 2: there he is.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Where did you come from? Well, I was just on
- 13:57Speaker 4: the bow of the ship wondering if I could run
- 14:01Speaker 4: it over.
- 14:03Speaker 3: That's God, what a sexy motherfucker.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I love that fucking guy.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Hey, you guys are not the only ones. It's just
- 14:09Speaker 4: been a wild ride for me because yes, I have
- 14:11Speaker 4: wanted to kill myself multiple times, but I'm also selling
- 14:14Speaker 4: out almost every performance, you know, and I've got the
- 14:17Speaker 4: two hundred three hundred seat theater. I was in the
- 14:19Speaker 4: ten seat theater and they just moved me up and
- 14:22Speaker 4: up and up and up. So every day I.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Was wondering where all the customers have been going, because
- 14:29Speaker 1: they're they're certainly not at your show, Rick Rocket, and
- 14:32Speaker 1: they are certainly not at Cats. And a lot of
- 14:34Speaker 1: the people who come to watch cats they end up
- 14:36Speaker 1: dying mid performance because they're very old and so it's tough.
- 14:40Speaker 1: But I'm glad to see that they're going somewhere.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I wanted to ask about cats right now. How's
- 14:45Speaker 2: that going, Evelyn? I know how long have you been
- 14:47Speaker 2: doing cats, specifically on this the boat.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Well, I've been doing cats since nineteen ninety. In from
- 14:55Speaker 1: nineteen eighty five to nineteen ninety I did Hello Dolly,
- 14:59Speaker 1: and I was just a townsperson then. But then I
- 15:02Speaker 1: looked so old, even from a very young age, that
- 15:05Speaker 1: they said you would be great at old deuteronomy and cats.
- 15:08Speaker 1: You got to get into that costume, and so I did.
- 15:11Speaker 4: And I can tell the last thirty years. So they
- 15:14Speaker 4: switched it up five every five years, but then they
- 15:17Speaker 4: just committed to Cats for thirty years at least.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yes, it's sort of this other play because they do
- 15:21Speaker 1: other Broadway shows on this show, but they yes, they did.
- 15:25Speaker 1: They made a deal with Andrew Lloyd Webber. They would
- 15:28Speaker 1: never stop doing Cats in the Star Showroom. They would
- 15:32Speaker 1: never stop doing it because he has some dirt on
- 15:35Speaker 1: this company which I won't go into. But it's been great,
- 15:40Speaker 1: and you know, you would think that the release of
- 15:43Speaker 1: the twenty nineteen film Cats would maybe spark some popularity
- 15:47Speaker 1: in the cruise ship show Cats. It is not. It
- 15:51Speaker 1: is not in the least. In fact, I would say
- 15:53Speaker 1: it's the opposite. I would say that people occasionally will
- 15:56Speaker 1: come in and throw tomatoes, but that's part of the gig,
- 15:59Speaker 1: you know.
- 16:00Speaker 6: If that's that's if they survived the show.
- 16:02Speaker 1: And let's talk about that.
- 16:03Speaker 6: You mentioned a lot of people have died watching Cats up.
- 16:07Speaker 6: As you all know, we.
- 16:07Speaker 7: Ran out of room in the Morgan had to put
- 16:09Speaker 7: the people, you know, people that had passed in the
- 16:11Speaker 7: freezer next to the shrimp.
- 16:13Speaker 2: We did put them in the freezer, and the ones
- 16:15Speaker 2: that seemed like that.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Was a mess for the cooks. Yeah, an absolute mess
- 16:18Speaker 4: for the cooks. They didn't know for bodies it was.
- 16:21Speaker 2: And when the freezer filled up, they did use the
- 16:23Speaker 2: rock and roll lounge for a little bit, which was
- 16:26Speaker 2: frustrating for me.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Well, it's like you have an audience. You have an audience.
- 16:30Speaker 4: I guess they're not laughing or singing along, but you
- 16:32Speaker 4: have something.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess. So they really loved my rendition of
- 16:36Speaker 2: Deja Vu by Olivia Rodrigo. I'll tell you that much.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I love when you sing that song. I love it.
- 16:40Speaker 3: I love it sexy.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Do you get deja vu? And cheese with a yo? Yeah?
- 16:47Speaker 4: I gotta keep it fresh. They actually keep it young.
- 16:50Speaker 4: They actually had so many bodies. They let me start,
- 16:53Speaker 4: you know, doing some fun skits with the bodies, and I.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Didn't like I'm gonna be honest with you, I didn't
- 16:57Speaker 2: like that.
- 16:58Speaker 4: It was a hit or misshow for sure. And I
- 17:01Speaker 4: couldn't tell who was laughing because you know, also half
- 17:04Speaker 4: of the audience was bodies, so I couldn't tell if
- 17:06Speaker 4: people were liking it or dead. But it was a
- 17:09Speaker 4: hit for a.
- 17:10Speaker 1: While it was a weird June.
- 17:12Speaker 6: Let's call it. It was a weird.
- 17:13Speaker 3: June, a weird Jude.
- 17:14Speaker 2: I found it weird much thought the last year was
- 17:17Speaker 2: weird for sure, Yeah, for.
- 17:18Speaker 5: Sure, it was just a weird and then the second
- 17:20Speaker 5: month and we knew we had moved on, it felt
- 17:22Speaker 5: like so it felt like just like a blimp in
- 17:25Speaker 5: the year.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I did want to bring up little Miss Broadway over there.
- 17:28Speaker 2: That's my little bit Broby, What tell us about your show,
- 17:32Speaker 2: because I don't think I've ever gotten around to see it.
- 17:35Speaker 5: I'll say that I am different than some of you guys.
- 17:38Speaker 5: I'm not a concentrated performer. I am all over the
- 17:44Speaker 5: ship at all times. My week looks different.
- 17:47Speaker 7: Uh.
- 17:48Speaker 3: The only constant thing I'll say is Mama Mia.
- 17:50Speaker 5: On Wednesday nights, I dance in Cats with Evelyn, and
- 17:55Speaker 5: I do limbo at lunch by the pool. I have
- 17:58Speaker 5: to do that and shirts not fully dancing. And it's
- 18:03Speaker 5: a weird part of my contract that I didn't agree to,
- 18:06Speaker 5: and that brings me lots of anger and lots of
- 18:11Speaker 5: lots of sadness and boredom and depression. But it's a
- 18:16Speaker 5: part of the gig, right, It's a part of the
- 18:18Speaker 5: gig because I love to meet the people on the boat.
- 18:22Speaker 5: I love to meet the people on the boat. So
- 18:23Speaker 5: I'm just all over. I'm all over, especially limbo at
- 18:26Speaker 5: two thirty.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Are you just doing the are you just participating in
- 18:30Speaker 4: the limbo?
- 18:30Speaker 3: I'm holding the stick and shaking my bum?
- 18:33Speaker 6: I mean, and is the hard? I mean the costume
- 18:35Speaker 6: they have you where it is hard?
- 18:36Speaker 2: It's hard.
- 18:37Speaker 3: It's humiliating.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, a big pineapple. Somebody's got to be
- 18:41Speaker 1: the big pineapple.
- 18:42Speaker 5: It's a big pineapple with like where it shot and
- 18:44Speaker 5: then a little cut show my ass in the back.
- 18:47Speaker 1: And I don't like it, assless pineapple.
- 18:49Speaker 3: I don't like it with the glitter on my ass
- 18:52Speaker 3: like that.
- 18:52Speaker 5: I don't like it doesn't feel good, never agreed to.
- 18:56Speaker 5: It doesn't fit right. But I mean I heard the
- 18:59Speaker 5: stick and I shake bum.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Well, sure, we've all had to do humiliating things on
- 19:04Speaker 1: the ship. That's sort of part of the gig. I mean,
- 19:06Speaker 1: I know they used to trot me out and and
- 19:09Speaker 1: and and and and you know, serve keisches to the
- 19:12Speaker 1: captains and they'd make me wear a little maid's outfit. Now,
- 19:15Speaker 1: this was back in nineteen eighty five when women weren't
- 19:17Speaker 1: people yet, and so you understand where they're coming from.
- 19:20Speaker 1: But you know, it's it's a shame sometimes we're asked
- 19:23Speaker 1: to do things that are beyond our job district description.
- 19:26Speaker 4: I would love to hear what, you know, kind of
- 19:28Speaker 4: like the most memorable humiliating experiences everybody's had, because you know,
- 19:33Speaker 4: in two or three months, I've already had a couple,
- 19:35Speaker 4: but I'm sure it doesn't track to anybody's.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, how much time you got?
- 19:42Speaker 3: Hellololol lool lool.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Big Mama, Julia, were some of your crazy, you know,
- 19:49Speaker 4: humiliating or devastating at times? I mean, you've been here
- 19:53Speaker 4: the longest besides Evelyn, of course, but she doesn't really
- 19:55Speaker 4: count for me. You're much more of a motherly figure.
- 19:58Speaker 4: So what are some of yours?
- 20:00Speaker 7: Oh well, I mean, you know, I've had such a
- 20:02Speaker 7: good time on the ship, but when I'm on that bow,
- 20:04Speaker 7: as you know, I've been on the bow more than
- 20:07Speaker 7: once having that question in my mind.
- 20:09Speaker 6: And one time I did take the leap, I did
- 20:12Speaker 6: survive it.
- 20:14Speaker 7: Yes, I glad, I am glad I did it.
- 20:19Speaker 6: Yes, I took the leap.
- 20:21Speaker 7: Oh gosh, must have been ninety seven, right around when
- 20:23Speaker 7: the Celindion Titanic song came out. Because I remember I
- 20:26Speaker 7: was up there and I was thinking about that moment.
- 20:28Speaker 6: I'm flying Jack and I really flew. I flew down,
- 20:34Speaker 6: but I did.
- 20:34Speaker 7: Uh.
- 20:35Speaker 6: I did land in a rescue boat, one of those
- 20:37Speaker 6: little little boats, and I didn't plan on it.
- 20:40Speaker 7: I kind of the wind caught me, took me through
- 20:42Speaker 7: the side of the ship, landed on a little boat,
- 20:45Speaker 7: and uh pretty much just had a headache and a
- 20:47Speaker 7: broken ankle, and it was it was a bit humiliating. Uh.
- 20:51Speaker 6: Turns out you need to jump off the back of
- 20:53Speaker 6: the ship if you really want to kill yourself. The
- 20:54Speaker 6: propellers will get you.
- 20:57Speaker 3: But uh, but yeah, you.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Know everyone's everyone's had a had a swing and a
- 21:02Speaker 1: miss at that. It's okay, It's okay, it's nothing.
- 21:04Speaker 2: You can show what I say, Can I say?
- 21:07Speaker 7: They?
- 21:07Speaker 2: I really don't like the way that the safety patrol
- 21:10Speaker 2: shames you when they when they get you.
- 21:13Speaker 7: Well, that was the thing they had me, the crawl
- 21:15Speaker 7: on my hands and knees and do I had to
- 21:17Speaker 7: wear the pineapple costume.
- 21:20Speaker 2: That pineapple costume.
- 21:23Speaker 6: Can me crawl back to my room?
- 21:26Speaker 2: It's a Royal Mediterranean. Yeah, it's like a it's like
- 21:29Speaker 2: a dog cone. It's like a net cone for dogs,
- 21:31Speaker 2: but basically a suicide prevention for sea performers.
- 21:36Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Yeah, well we can't.
- 21:37Speaker 5: We can't jump off a boat because the costume is
- 21:39Speaker 5: so blacky big and will float no matter what.
- 21:43Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean I had the customers. They have
- 21:46Speaker 1: no idea. The guests have no idea.
- 21:48Speaker 4: They're just they just say pineapple suits.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Well, look at all these pineapple suits walking around. They
- 21:53Speaker 1: have no idea. They're in a makeshift, just straight jacket.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I remember the darkest week I'm about. They just announced
- 22:01Speaker 2: that the boat was doing Pineapple Week and everyone was
- 22:06Speaker 2: in a pineapple suit. Do you guys remember that.
- 22:07Speaker 1: I remember that. I remember that because there was this
- 22:10Speaker 1: great storm. There was a big storm that was right
- 22:14Speaker 1: in two thousand and one after you know what happened,
- 22:17Speaker 1: and we were all so sad.
- 22:18Speaker 2: About it, the release of Lander.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, yes, yes, yes, Oh, we were so sad.
- 22:26Speaker 1: They were right to do.
- 22:27Speaker 2: It, yeah, absolutely well.
- 22:30Speaker 6: And there was a lot of codes.
- 22:32Speaker 7: You know, obviously they said the pineapple code over the intercom,
- 22:34Speaker 7: but there's a lot of codes.
- 22:36Speaker 6: The customers don't know what's really happening, right, Code blue,
- 22:38Speaker 6: Code red.
- 22:39Speaker 7: You know, we know that someone's down, you know, old
- 22:42Speaker 7: person's fallen in their room, Code red or fire fire,
- 22:46Speaker 7: you know.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you know. I'm actually proud of, you know, because
- 22:49Speaker 2: they have a code Rick, and I'm a little proud of.
- 22:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I think we all actually have a code named after ourselves,
- 22:56Speaker 2: which is pretty awesome. Code Rick is when somebody is
- 23:00Speaker 2: holding a guest hostage in order to get more stage
- 23:03Speaker 2: time on a larger stage.
- 23:06Speaker 4: And you wouldn't believe how often that happens. I've heard
- 23:11Speaker 4: it at least once a week.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Code Evelyn is when you just sort of break on stage,
- 23:22Speaker 1: You just sort of forget where you are and who
- 23:24Speaker 1: you are, and then they have to go back and
- 23:27Speaker 1: switch you out with somebody else who looks exactly like you.
- 23:29Speaker 1: That used to be my friend, Evelyn. May she rest
- 23:32Speaker 1: in peace.
- 23:34Speaker 7: Code Mama Jula is when you find a child on
- 23:36Speaker 7: board and you attempt to convince them they are your
- 23:39Speaker 7: own child and that they do belong to you.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Used to try and do that all the time.
- 23:47Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I heard some stories. I remember hearing stories
- 23:50Speaker 4: a couple five five, six years ago. It was just
- 23:52Speaker 4: all the rage. Every other day, it was a cold
- 23:54Speaker 4: big mama.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Jula, Yeah, Matula, do you remember that day? I think
- 23:59Speaker 1: it must have been ninety ninety eight or so, But
- 24:01Speaker 1: there was this woman who was running around hysterically and
- 24:04Speaker 1: she's going, where's my baby, where's my baby? Where's my baby?
- 24:07Speaker 1: And all the performers we were all laughing so hard
- 24:09Speaker 1: because we knew you had it.
- 24:11Speaker 6: And I was attempting.
- 24:13Speaker 7: I don't mean to get gross, but I wasn't tempting
- 24:15Speaker 7: to breastfeed, but I didn't have any milk.
- 24:18Speaker 4: And that child was six and that child was six.
- 24:25Speaker 5: Oh, I love that well, Codeze when I'll stick my
- 24:29Speaker 5: head and upon it because I want to die.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Yeah, showed me.
- 24:36Speaker 4: What's it?
- 24:37Speaker 7: Good?
- 24:37Speaker 2: Derek? I don't think i've heard that one yet.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Oh that's when they capture one of the guests trying
- 24:42Speaker 4: to fuck a puppet. That's one of the fun ones.
- 24:45Speaker 4: And just for the record, I've never tried. I've never dread. Yes,
- 24:49Speaker 4: he has Okay, Georgie, he definitely has. Way you had
- 24:53Speaker 4: consensual sex. These guys are ridiculous, But let me tell you,
- 24:58Speaker 4: the audience loves it, especially when I do this. Hey,
- 25:02Speaker 4: how are you, well, how are you? I make my
- 25:07Speaker 4: puppets kiss. Yeah, the audience really, I don't know. They
- 25:12Speaker 4: love it for so.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Here's a question about a ship man's's do you guys?
- 25:18Speaker 4: Uh?
- 25:19Speaker 2: I guess My question is what's the skinny? You know
- 25:21Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 25:24Speaker 4: Okay, we're getting dirt, the dirt details.
- 25:27Speaker 2: As everyone knows, it is off limits to have any
- 25:30Speaker 2: sort of relations with the guests, but there is a
- 25:34Speaker 2: lot going on behind the scenes, and it is encouraged.
- 25:38Speaker 1: You know, it's encouraged that we are supposed to intermingle
- 25:42Speaker 1: with each other to help with the whole code Pineapple situation.
- 25:44Speaker 4: That was the craziest thing when I first joined. They
- 25:47Speaker 4: had a whole seven hour seminar of how we should
- 25:52Speaker 4: be hooking up with each other. It was.
- 25:56Speaker 2: They served the oysters at lunch.
- 25:58Speaker 7: Oh yeah, they put a bunch of mattresses. Well, this
- 26:01Speaker 7: was on I worked a swinger ship. This was actually
- 26:03Speaker 7: a swinger themed cruise ship before the way. Yes, it
- 26:07Speaker 7: was all mattresses, but they did like sort of a
- 26:11Speaker 7: mini version and they put a bunch of mattresses on
- 26:14Speaker 7: the floor and put a disco ball up.
- 26:15Speaker 6: Do you guys remember that? It was like it was
- 26:17Speaker 6: New Year's Eve, the mattress rooms.
- 26:23Speaker 2: No, I don't remember that.
- 26:24Speaker 4: What happened there? Can you talk? Can you talk about
- 26:26Speaker 4: what happened there?
- 26:27Speaker 7: Well, it was so dark, I'm not sure. I know
- 26:30Speaker 7: that I had multiple orgasms.
- 26:33Speaker 8: I know that.
- 26:35Speaker 7: Things were touched, things were pope, things were I did things.
- 26:40Speaker 7: I tasted things I'd never tasted.
- 26:44Speaker 6: It was I have no regrets.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I realized why I missed that I was on
- 26:50Speaker 2: duty counting down to midnight in the rock and roll lounge.
- 26:54Speaker 6: Oh that is so sad. Yeah, miss you must remember,
- 26:59Speaker 6: you must have remember this.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I do you know what it's It's so fuzzy to me, because,
- 27:04Speaker 1: as you said, it was, it was just so pitch black.
- 27:08Speaker 1: You're being poked and licked and grabbed and groped and
- 27:12Speaker 1: sucked and bucked and tucked in at the end of
- 27:17Speaker 1: the night, and it's just so disorienting. But you need it,
- 27:22Speaker 1: you absolutely need it. I remember, you know, remember that
- 27:26Speaker 1: code Pineapple Week when they all had us in the Pineapples.
- 27:30Speaker 1: They pumped us full of oysters every single day, morning, noon,
- 27:35Speaker 1: and night.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Which is such a misconception. It's not like you're gonna
- 27:38Speaker 4: it's just an afrodisiac. But pumping somebody like breakfast dinner
- 27:43Speaker 4: lunch poisters is not a healthy thing. You're gonna feel terrible.
- 27:45Speaker 1: They were desperate. They didn't know what we were gonna do.
- 27:48Speaker 2: I bet, I bet an aerial view of that cruise
- 27:50Speaker 2: ship would be like watching a minion porno. Surely, big
- 27:53Speaker 2: yellow bobs just bumping up against each other left and right.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Yeah, although say Rick, I wanted to say, I find
- 28:01Speaker 3: it insane and in humane. They make you count down
- 28:04Speaker 3: for so many hours.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they had me starting it's a five pm. They
- 28:12Speaker 2: had me starting at five in the rock and roll lounge.
- 28:16Speaker 2: And I couldn't play the same song twice.
- 28:19Speaker 1: So you were counting down from what seven hundred?
- 28:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we were playing songs.
- 28:25Speaker 4: There was just a really long countdown.
- 28:28Speaker 2: We did minutes for the first four hours, and then
- 28:32Speaker 2: we moved into seconds in the last three.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Oh wow, that's so much more than seven hundred. I'm
- 28:37Speaker 1: doing the.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Mouth of it's about thirty five thousand, uh. And they
- 28:42Speaker 2: would play songs under it.
- 28:44Speaker 6: And I remember you counting to lime into Coconut. It
- 28:48Speaker 6: was no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Twelve eight thousand, four hundred and forty four, eight thousand
- 28:53Speaker 2: and four, one hundred and forty three, you know, eight
- 28:56Speaker 2: thousand fu, yeah, bring me back, you know what I mean?
- 28:58Speaker 2: Those are the days I actually kind of blissed out.
- 29:01Speaker 2: And after that I had some realizations about my life.
- 29:06Speaker 2: And I lost seventy five pounds in the next three months.
- 29:10Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I remember that because.
- 29:12Speaker 2: I kind of had It was almost like a meditation technique.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I was so focused on the numbers. I saw nothing
- 29:20Speaker 2: but my soul.
- 29:21Speaker 6: Right tried to lose seventy five pounds.
- 29:24Speaker 2: So here's my soul is overweight.
- 29:26Speaker 4: So here's a question from the fishball I just pulled out.
- 29:29Speaker 4: It says, who is George? What position did he have?
- 29:31Speaker 4: And why was he so important to everybody? This is
- 29:35Speaker 4: a really interesting question to SRG. I don't I don't
- 29:39Speaker 4: want to be the one to answer this, because you know,
- 29:41Speaker 4: we did have, you know, a wonderful relationship. But I
- 29:44Speaker 4: feel like Big Mama, Jula or Evelyn, you guys should
- 29:48Speaker 4: be the ones to answer this.
- 29:50Speaker 6: You know, well we were both well he might have
- 29:52Speaker 6: had two lives. Yes, I to me, he was the
- 29:55Speaker 6: ship captain. To me, he was the ship captain. Was
- 29:58Speaker 6: he the captain for you? As well, I do believe he.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Was the captain. He was the captain in the ship,
- 30:03Speaker 1: and he was the captain in our relationship. He wore
- 30:06Speaker 1: the pants and I liked it that way. I don't
- 30:08Speaker 1: know if that was your dynamic as well. Clearly it
- 30:11Speaker 1: was happening at the exact same time, which it makes
- 30:14Speaker 1: sense looking back, because he would all he was very
- 30:17Speaker 1: strict on the nights that he would see me. It
- 30:19Speaker 1: was Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, alternating Mondays mm hmm.
- 30:24Speaker 7: And mine was Thursday, Saturday, every other Monday and Tuesday.
- 30:31Speaker 1: That makes so much sense now, Oh, but how do
- 30:34Speaker 1: you describe George? Well, what a.
- 30:36Speaker 6: Force, the horniest guy on the ship.
- 30:39Speaker 4: I guess. To me, yeah, every other Tuesday, I'd see him,
- 30:43Speaker 4: and to me, he was just another puppet. You know.
- 30:46Speaker 4: He loved puppet play. He loved me pretending to control
- 30:50Speaker 4: his voice. He would laugh, he would cry, he would
- 30:53Speaker 4: get down. And that was like a wonderful way for
- 30:57Speaker 4: me to recover from this relationship that I had back
- 31:00Speaker 4: on Land, as we call it wrong.
- 31:03Speaker 1: What went wrong in that relationship?
- 31:07Speaker 2: Well, I had a little insight into George that you
- 31:09Speaker 2: guys might not. As you guys might or might not know.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Every Saturday, Sunday and Monday night, George would watch me
- 31:16Speaker 2: sleep from ten pm to six.
- 31:17Speaker 4: It makes sense would always be such a good captain.
- 31:20Speaker 4: He was such a good captain.
- 31:22Speaker 2: We were bros, you know, we were bros and we
- 31:24Speaker 2: were close, but there was something tense between us as well.
- 31:26Speaker 2: And he said to me one night after we were drinking,
- 31:29Speaker 2: after we had a couple too many pain killers over
- 31:33Speaker 2: in the crew bar, fifty cents to drink, he said
- 31:36Speaker 2: to me, you know you're always on. I want to
- 31:39Speaker 2: see you when you're off, and that'll get me off.
- 31:41Speaker 2: And so he used to watch me sleep, and he
- 31:46Speaker 2: showed me a lot about kind of the alluringness of
- 31:53Speaker 2: how attractive you are when you're not trying. And it's
- 31:57Speaker 2: something I'm I'm you know, I'm trying to work into
- 32:00Speaker 2: my life. You know, sometimes I act during my show
- 32:04Speaker 2: like I don't want to be there. It doesn't bring
- 32:07Speaker 2: more people, it doesn't. But yeah, that's George to me.
- 32:13Speaker 2: You know, he was a confidant, he was a captain
- 32:16Speaker 2: and he was my watcher.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I would like to divert really quickly because I know
- 32:21Speaker 1: we're running out of time. Just one final question for
- 32:23Speaker 1: the fish bowl that I just drew. You know, what
- 32:28Speaker 1: is the best part about working in a cruise ship.
- 32:31Speaker 1: We've talked a lot about how it's difficult, but the
- 32:34Speaker 1: fact that we're being recognized by the industry, by Hollywood
- 32:37Speaker 1: to do this panel right now, it's a chance for
- 32:41Speaker 1: us to maybe says something good that happened to us.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Well, I'll start and I'll say I really found myself,
- 32:47Speaker 4: you know, when I had him before I got my
- 32:50Speaker 4: sea legs and my sea las. Okay, calm down, Georgie.
- 32:58Speaker 4: This bird is nuts big government. He is a Yeah,
- 33:03Speaker 4: he's a libertarian. The audience loves my libertarian bird. You know.
- 33:07Speaker 4: I found I found myself in vitriloquism, and I found
- 33:10Speaker 4: myself being able to be funny for a huge audience
- 33:14Speaker 4: every night, two hundreds or three hundred people, and they're
- 33:17Speaker 4: different every night. Some people love it and they come back,
- 33:19Speaker 4: you know. I would say half of the crowd loves
- 33:21Speaker 4: it so much they come back. And it's just been
- 33:23Speaker 4: so nice to find myself on the ocean, you know.
- 33:27Speaker 4: And I'm so excited to see where this trip takes me,
- 33:30Speaker 4: you know. And yeah, Natasha, if you're listening, fuck you.
- 33:35Speaker 4: I fucking found myself. I'm fucking killing it out here.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Yeah you are, Derek, Yeah, Yeah, didn's thanks.
- 33:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 33:43Speaker 2: I would say the best part for me, similar to
- 33:45Speaker 2: Derek on working on a cruise ship, is the ability
- 33:50Speaker 2: to tune out from the real world. I mean, we
- 33:52Speaker 2: all know the kind of bullshit that's happening. I have
- 33:55Speaker 2: an ex wife who won't leave me alone. She is
- 34:00Speaker 2: after me in a big way. And being able to
- 34:03Speaker 2: be on a cruise ship is so fantastic because I
- 34:06Speaker 2: simply don't have cell service and my email address. I
- 34:11Speaker 2: can only get to it on a computer. And there's
- 34:13Speaker 2: one computer on the ship. We all know Mark Williams
- 34:16Speaker 2: owns that computer.
- 34:18Speaker 6: And she almost got you one at the Jamaican port.
- 34:22Speaker 2: She did. She was waiting on Montego Bay. She was
- 34:25Speaker 2: there and that disaster. That was crazy. That was crazy, Chris,
- 34:30Speaker 2: did you see her grabbing at me? I have scratches
- 34:32Speaker 2: on my arm still from that.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Oh yeah. She trained and hanging onto the bow for
- 34:38Speaker 1: about thirty minutes before she fell off.
- 34:41Speaker 2: And can I say, and you're burying the lead, Mama, Dula.
- 34:44Speaker 2: You saved the day with what a hug. You hugged
- 34:49Speaker 2: her and it was said.
- 34:50Speaker 3: The mother hug A mother's hug, mother's embrace.
- 34:54Speaker 7: M h yeah, and that is my favorite part of
- 34:58Speaker 7: being on a cruise ship is the is the hugs
- 35:01Speaker 7: and the it's kind of like Burning Man, you know,
- 35:04Speaker 7: where you get there and it's it's just a different
- 35:08Speaker 7: thing where we're all in it together.
- 35:10Speaker 6: There's definitely this energy.
- 35:12Speaker 7: Everyone you look at who works on the cruise ship,
- 35:14Speaker 7: there's an understanding.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Have you been able to go to Burning Man?
- 35:21Speaker 7: I it's it's one of my dreams for when I
- 35:24Speaker 7: do eventually retire.
- 35:25Speaker 6: I have not been.
- 35:26Speaker 1: I have.
- 35:27Speaker 6: I have heard so many people telling me about Burning Man.
- 35:30Speaker 1: You give the most wonderful I want that for you.
- 35:36Speaker 5: And I love that you have so many pictures of
- 35:38Speaker 5: burning men in your little room in the cruise ship
- 35:42Speaker 5: that you look at looks so.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Little, just that burning Man. It's all those photos of
- 35:46Speaker 4: that giant wooden statue set alight.
- 35:50Speaker 3: One day. I hope you see it. You and you
- 35:52Speaker 3: hope you have a kid, a child.
- 35:54Speaker 1: We all have our Moscow, you know, working towards that's yours,
- 35:58Speaker 1: and I think that's beautiful. You know, your hugs are
- 36:01Speaker 1: so powerful. I do remember there was that one year
- 36:04Speaker 1: that we all got the flu because you have so
- 36:07Speaker 1: many friends. You hugged every single one of us, and
- 36:10Speaker 1: I tell you I'd get it again.
- 36:11Speaker 6: I did.
- 36:13Speaker 7: I did give us the flu, and I hope I
- 36:15Speaker 7: strengthened our immunity by us all fighting through it.
- 36:19Speaker 3: And that's important to strengthen our community, especially.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Now, Jasie. What's the most exciting thing, the happiest thing
- 36:25Speaker 2: for you on a cruise ship.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Oh, i'd have to say, wow. I'd have to say
- 36:33Speaker 3: I'm a little fucker for the chocolate fountain.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Oh yes, okay.
- 36:40Speaker 7: And.
- 36:42Speaker 3: After six years, that's what's doing it for me.
- 36:47Speaker 2: The best thing on the cruiser for you is the
- 36:49Speaker 2: chocolate Bounty.
- 36:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I love to get the mocks. Really states. Put
- 36:52Speaker 5: me in chok fountain.
- 36:53Speaker 1: I like to.
- 36:55Speaker 5: I have to put my little puss in it. I
- 36:57Speaker 5: have to do everything with arklip Fountain. I love it
- 37:01Speaker 5: so much. And after so long, that's what lies ahead
- 37:05Speaker 5: from me.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Good lord, I couldn't realize I was eating this whole time.
- 37:11Speaker 1: My gosh, Oh, let me in there, okay, Georgie.
- 37:16Speaker 5: Well, I don't do it. I don't do it unless
- 37:18Speaker 5: it's a really shit week. I stick my puss in it.
- 37:21Speaker 5: But only only when it's a ship week.
- 37:25Speaker 7: That's why we love you, you know, because you're such
- 37:28Speaker 7: a fun, wild.
- 37:30Speaker 6: Australian.
- 37:32Speaker 3: No, thank you, mama.
- 37:35Speaker 2: I have one one final question to lead us out,
- 37:37Speaker 2: folks right here from the fishbowl. If you could, in
- 37:40Speaker 2: one word describe what it takes to succeed on a
- 37:44Speaker 2: cruise ship, what would it be.
- 37:47Speaker 3: I'd say denial, the ability to block things out and
- 37:53Speaker 3: focusing on the ship.
- 37:56Speaker 6: I'd say eye contact. Eye contact.
- 38:00Speaker 1: I would say remembering, specifically, remembering that what you did
- 38:06Speaker 1: in nineteen eighty four is why you have to stay
- 38:09Speaker 1: in international waters.
- 38:12Speaker 2: You know, I'm gonna go ahead, and I'm gonna go
- 38:14Speaker 2: ahead and say kissing. That's that's what you need, because
- 38:19Speaker 2: if you're not kissing someone, you're kissing yourself and you're
- 38:22Speaker 2: also kissing the mic. At the Rock and Roll Lounge Fridays, Tuesdays, Thursdays,
- 38:28Speaker 2: Wednesdays and Mondays. I did am out of order just
- 38:31Speaker 2: to make it more fun. Every day of the week

- 38:43Speaker 1: And that is every night at six pm. If you
- 38:46Speaker 1: say that through six forty five. You will be there
- 38:48Speaker 1: for longer than most of the audience is alive, so
- 38:51Speaker 1: try and get in before then.
- 38:53Speaker 5: Yes, I'll also be doing that show you see every
- 38:56Speaker 5: night six o'clock.

- 39:18Speaker 4: got to show at six, show at seven, and don't
- 39:21Speaker 4: forget about the late night show at nine thirty. It's
- 39:27Speaker 4: a blast.
- 39:29Speaker 6: You get your word, Derek, to forget your word?
- 39:31Speaker 4: Oh my word about being on a ship. I just
- 39:34Speaker 4: can't think of one. Maybe I have a friend that
- 39:37Speaker 4: can think of one for me. Mack penis, that kills,
- 39:43Speaker 4: that kills, So I guess how embarrassing. Gosh, give me
- 39:53Speaker 4: a try. How about the word penis. These guys are
- 39:58Speaker 4: too much. We have fun, So check me out any
- 40:02Speaker 4: of those nights. I'm it's tough to get tickets, but
- 40:06Speaker 4: let me know.
- 40:07Speaker 1: And Mama Julia, where can people find you? And by
- 40:10Speaker 1: people I mean, of course the passengers who are currently
- 40:13Speaker 1: on the Royal Mediterranean and listening to this Hollywood podcast.
- 40:19Speaker 7: Follow the wind or follow the sound of my dog sparking.
- 40:24Speaker 4: Right, of course, you don't have a formal show you
- 40:27Speaker 4: you're actually considered more of a passenger on the vessel. Right.
- 40:30Speaker 7: I'll also be growing basil somewhere on the ship, so
- 40:34Speaker 7: definite check that, Nis, sure, wherever you like it. It's
- 40:41Speaker 7: a very healing medicinal herb. I'm sure it would do
- 40:43Speaker 7: a lot for your anus.
- 40:45Speaker 2: I make cheese in my jars and a fridge if
- 40:47Speaker 2: you want some.
- 40:50Speaker 6: For some reason that doesn't sound appetizing.
- 40:52Speaker 2: All right, it's a good cheese, all.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Right, Rick, Will you count us down to the last
- 40:57Speaker 3: bit of the episode.
