- 0:00By the benefits far outweigh the risks, but as the vaccine roll
- 0:03out, now, ramps up through the booster phase, there are rare
- 0:06few who suffer serious side effects.
- 0:08Now, the federal government is offering compensation for anyone
- 0:11who become seriously ill after having their covid shot.
- 0:14It's been a long road to recovery for Maddie John, it's a
- 0:19really uncomfortable and quite a frightening experience.
- 0:23He felt like he was having a heart attack, two days after
- 0:27getting the Pfizer vaccine, I just got this.
- 0:30A sharp pain that I've never experienced before in the center
- 0:32of my chest diagnosed with severe pericarditis.
- 0:36He was off work for 10 weeks. You constantly worrying.
- 0:40I suppose that anxiety around I suppose you were talking about
- 0:43your heart, Maddie's not alone, it's estimated 79,000.
- 0:48People have suffered adverse reactions to vaccines.
- 0:52Now, the government's offering compensation claims under 20,000
- 0:56dollars will need evidence from your doctor click Games over
- 1:0020,000 dollars, assessed by a team of legal experts.
- 1:05The highest figure reserved for only the most serious of cases.
- 1:09I think it could cost the government a lot of money.
- 1:11Daniel Au, Pare works, it Shine lawyers, he's looked closely at
- 1:16the government's scheme. If you do suffer pericarditis,
- 1:19it can result in you being out of pocket.
- 1:23You know, you might have to see a cardiologist, you might need
- 1:25procedures so it is definitely appropriate that there is a
- 1:28vaccination scheme. They're to compensate those
- 1:31people, but like all those schemes there are limitations to
- 1:34make a claim. You must spend at least one
- 1:37night in hospital. And that's a clause that makes
- 1:40Maddie John. Ineligible he was admitted to
- 1:43hospital twice but never stayed the night.
- 1:46That is a little bit frustrating and out-of-pocket Affair bit,
- 1:49but in saying that to it is what it is.
- 1:52And that's life. The scheme is now open Nick hose
- 1:577 News. Hi, I'm Jay felon and you are
- 2:06listening to the slippery slope. So what you just heard was a
- 2:10news report in the Australian news, obviously regarding
- 2:14compensation the compensation scheme offered by the Australian
- 2:18government. It's to me, this is just
- 2:21outrageous, Australian politicians in all of our states
- 2:26and territories made unanimous decisions.
- 2:29That they would force they would bring me and dates.
- 2:33These covid-19 mandates upon the Australian public regardless of
- 2:37whether you wanted it or not. They would hold a big stick over
- 2:40your head saying, hey, if you did not do this, well then you
- 2:43would lose your job. Your financial security would be
- 2:46put in Jeopardy because we have decided that we will set the
- 2:52rules for your body's Health. We will decide what is best for
- 2:56your body and that's all there is to it.
- 3:00Now now the reporting possibly 79,000.
- 3:04People could be claiming compensation because of vaccine
- 3:08injuries. It should not be the Australian
- 3:10public. The Australian taxpayer that
- 3:13have to fund this. It should be the politicians
- 3:15that made these decisions. If these politicians made the
- 3:19decision for a part of making the decision to bring in
- 3:22mandates that force people to get a vaccine that you did not
- 3:26want and then you were. And then you suffered an injury
- 3:29because Because of it, it should be the politicians themselves.
- 3:33They should not be immune. We need to continue to hold our
- 3:38politicians accountable for the decisions that they make, not
- 3:43allow them to use taxpayer money.
- 3:47They are literally paying you, your own money back again.
- 3:51For injuries that you have suffered.
- 3:53Absolutely outrageous, and ridiculous and they should not
- 3:58be allowed. Get away with this.
- 4:01We need to hold them accountable for the decisions that they
- 4:04make. When they decide that they know
- 4:08what's best for our health and then turn around and treat the
- 4:12Australian public like fools by offering them compensation,
- 4:17which is literally offering you your own money back again,
- 4:21Australian politicians, these strallan government.
- 4:23All they're trying to do is get out ahead because they can see
- 4:27that there are going to be massive lawsuits coming.
- 4:29If they don't start offering compensation for injuries that
- 4:33people have suffered, that's all they're trying to do.
- 4:36Trying to avoid massive payouts, the drawing to avoid further
- 4:41legal ramifications. Well, I hope there are further
- 4:44legal ramifications coming. We need to continue to hold
- 4:47these people accountable for the decisions that they make, and
- 4:50that they force upon people upon the public.
- 4:54That's my opinion. Thank you for listening to the
- 4:57slippery slope.
