- 0:18Hey Herman, why you hold that coffee mug up?
- 0:22Finally, we got to sponsor everybody and it was all of you.
- 0:28I'm sitting there drinking that coffee mug and everybody's like,
- 0:31Herman, you need to get a sponsor on that coffee mug.
- 0:35Well, you know what, my dear friend?
- 0:38Fred McConnell, senior executive to marketing.
- 0:42Fred McConnell, he heard all of you and he heard all of us
- 0:46having fun, he texted. Me we talking.
- 0:50Back and forth, he said. Herman, I think I'm going to
- 0:52sponsor that coffee mug. I said that would be awesome,
- 0:58that would be awesome. And here we are today.
- 1:02Oh, look at that Sonoco Race Field.
- 1:04Been with me forever. So thank you, Fred McConnell.
- 1:09And it just doesn't stop there. Jags said that they wanted to
- 1:16just sponsor the YouTube show only.
- 1:19So Jags is still with me. Jags is still with me.
- 1:24But Sonoco Race Field, you see those pretty colors, blue,
- 1:28yellow, red. That's going to be on the dirt
- 1:30car this year. I will be wearing the Sunoco
- 1:34Race Fuels fire suit too. So Sunoco Race Fuel right here
- 1:40on coffee with Kenny and Sunoco Race Fuel going to sponsor the
- 1:44whole dirt car. It's a beautiful car.
- 1:47Like my wife said, she said that's a pretty race car.
- 1:51Look at those colors. So Sunoco Race Fuel going to
- 1:55sponsor the whole dirt car. I'll be wearing the Sunoco, you
- 2:00know, fire suit. Jags is going to primarily be on
- 2:06all the YouTube shows and Jags will have a a small associate
- 2:10decal on the dirt car. So there you go everybody.
- 2:14I want to thank Fred McConnell. You know what?
- 2:17I went down to Crescent, Texas, remember a while back, I drove
- 2:21those little Rd. course cars down there, those Rush race
- 2:25cars, and we had a time of our life and got to put a face to
- 2:32the phone. That was old Fred McConnell met,
- 2:35met Fred down there and we had a blast.
- 2:39And wouldn't you know, we closed the deal weeks later.
- 2:44Sunoco race fuel. I run in my race car.
- 2:49I run the Sunoco blue 112 octane so it's easy because that's the
- 2:57only. Race fuel I've ever.
- 2:59Run is Sunoco race fuel. That Sunoco Blue 112.
- 3:05I run that in my dirt car. All right, everybody so excited.
- 3:10Good looking logo, ain't it? Oh, all right.
- 3:17Moving forward, it's raining out.
- 3:20King Louie, he start, Louie started the show out right there
- 3:24and then he look at him. There he is.
- 3:27Right there. All right, moving forward, more
- 3:39breaking news in the garage area.
- 3:41As a lot of you know, about two years ago, I quit going to
- 3:45Volusia. It's a lot.
- 3:48Going to Volusia's a lot. Got to get all those tires
- 3:51ready. Got to get your car ready.
- 3:53You go down there for two weeks. So about two years ago, I
- 3:56decided to quit going to Volusia.
- 4:00So one year I said, Kim, let's go to Cabo.
- 4:06So I make sure I don't go to Volusia, Schrader said.
- 4:10Oh, you scheduled a vacation in Kabul?
- 4:14So you make sure you don't go to Volusia, I said.
- 4:16Yep. I sure did well when I was in
- 4:20Cabo. Got good Wi-Fi down there.
- 4:26Phone rings. I look down, it's Nick Hoffman
- 4:29and Kelly Kofsky. Kelly's with him.
- 4:33But Nick Hoffman who owns Elite, you know, he builds the Elite
- 4:37race cars. Nick owns Elite.
- 4:39That's one of the that is the fastest modified in UMP.
- 4:43So Nick says, Herman, we sure do miss you down here.
- 4:47It ain't the same. I said, oh, you, you boys miss
- 4:52me, Tell me more. So Nick said Herman and ain't
- 5:00the same. We're used to your used to you
- 5:04doing all the social media and making the race more fun.
- 5:10So I said Nick, I said it it, it ain't that I don't like going to
- 5:16Volusia. I said it's just too much on me.
- 5:19I said I've told this story 100 times, 17 hour trip from Saint
- 5:23Louis, fighting that traffic through Atlanta.
- 5:27Then I get to the racetrack and you know, it's a lot.
- 5:32So Nick said this was two years ago.
- 5:35Nick said how about next year I just field your race car.
- 5:40I said, OK, now we're talking. So did you know that Nick
- 5:47Hoffman's dad, Daryl Darryl Hoffman, built my motors when I
- 5:52first started racing in a in 1986?
- 5:581986, Darryl Hoffman built my motors.
- 6:03So I've known the Hoffman family forever.
- 6:09How about Uncle Dean, Nick Hoffman's uncle?
- 6:14He builds motors. He's the motor builder up there.
- 6:18Chad Mullins. Like my gosh, I run a Chad
- 6:22Mullins motor and I also run the Daryl Hoffman motor.
- 6:25So I got 2 motors. But anyway, my ties with Nick
- 6:28Hoffman, they go deep. I've known, like I said, Daryl
- 6:33Hoffman, Nick's dad since 1986, he built my motors, Kern Racing
- 6:38engines. So Daryl Hoffman worked for Kern
- 6:41Kern and then, you know, Nick's dad built my motors.
- 6:46And then Fast forward now, Uncle Dean, Nick's Uncle Dean, he
- 6:51builds my motors there at Chad Mullins and he probably builds
- 6:53your motors too. But his sister, Nick's sister
- 6:58Ashley and her husband Jeremy and you know, Rhonda, the mom,
- 7:04the whole family, they're wonderful to me.
- 7:07So last year we went to, we went to Volusia and we won.
- 7:12And boy, it was a it was awesome.
- 7:15So we're going to do it again this year.
- 7:16This year I'll be driving Nick Hoffman's modified and it will
- 7:21look just like my race car. And one thing I like about it is
- 7:26Nick already has one of my seats.
- 7:28So I'm going to fly my butt down there with my helmet bag and
- 7:34I'll and I'm going to get in that car like I did last year
- 7:38and it's going to feel just like my race car.
- 7:40It's going to look just like my race car.
- 7:42And I feel comfortable driving for Nick.
- 7:45Plus, Nick's cars are fast. All right, everybody, I think, I
- 7:51think we covered it a lot this morning.
- 7:54Once again, want to thank Fred McConnell at Sunoco Race Fuels.
- 7:59I'm driving for Nick Hoffman at Volusia this year and we are
- 8:03getting ready. It's it's cloudy out today, got
- 8:08tornado warnings but I'm getting ready for.
- 8:11Herman Schrader. Yes, Sir, we're going to do
- 8:14Herman Schrader and boy. Do we have a lot to talk about?
- 8:18All right, everybody, thank you so much.
- 8:22And we'll see at Volusia. But coffee with Kenny, it's
- 8:27going to keep on rolling every single day.
- 8:29And boy do. We have a lot to talk about.
- 8:34As the old raging Cajuns say down there, what?
- 8:37We talk. About tomorrow.
