- 2:48appropriate spooky thumbnail that I made for the whole month,
- 2:53and I'm doing the Inspired by Metallica arms crossed thing
- 2:59there. I don't know if you guys had
- 3:00that poster in the 80s like I did.

- 3:39So you can hit the link in our description for that.
- 3:42Eyes of Heiress is here. What up, What up, what up?
- 3:45Appreciate you And yeah, let's see, just a reminder, I
- 3:50relaunched my second channel, you know, sort of a de facto
- 3:54second channel for Ghost Cult. It's going to be the home for
- 3:57some of my music marketing stuff.
- 3:59Free advice for bands and labels.
- 4:02And I do some karaoke stuff there because I host karaoke on
- 4:05the weekends and sometimes I do metal songs, so I thought that
- 4:07would be fun. Vincent Wren, what up?
- 4:09Long time no see, pal. Did not know you were a tick
- 4:12tocker. Should not be two Vincent Wrens.
- 4:15It can only be one. It can be only one liquid death.
- 4:22So yeah, follow me at Ghost called TV 666 on YouTube and at
- 4:29Ghost Called TV on Instagram. But specifically I'm going to be
- 4:31doing some some specific sort of behind the scenes content that
- 4:36is only going to live mostly there.
- 4:37And some stuff like the live streams will be duplicated.
- 4:41Tomorrow, Friday, October 3rd is the next Band Camp Friday.
- 4:46I don't know how people still feel about Band Camp Friday, but
- 4:48it used to be a big deal for me. I used to really, I love
- 4:51supporting bands. I still try to support all the
- 4:53bands in the underground and I'm looking forward to, you know,
- 4:58hopefully doing that many, you know, for many more years.
- 5:01Obviously there's still other competitors to band camp, Amp
- 5:05Wall and things like that. Pretty damn fresh.
- 5:10Celebrating birthdays this week include Motley Crue's Tommy Lee,
- 5:16who is 100 million years old and his schlong is 200 million years
- 5:19old. Late John Witherspoon of Seven
- 5:22Dust birthday is tomorrow. I love this photo here by our
- 5:26photographer Evil Rob of Evil Rob Photography.
- 5:30Herman Lee of Dragonforce has a birthday tomorrow.
- 5:35Also celebrating a birthday today is Jim Root of Slipknot.
- 5:39Lot of Slipknot birthdays in the fall, Alan Robert of Life of
- 5:43Agony and also the celebrated New York Times best selling
- 5:46adult comic book artist. Alan's birthday is today.
- 5:49Happy birthday Alan and Franz Recher, best known as a Bobby
- 5:56Fleckman from Spinal Tap 1 and Spinal Tap 2.
- 6:00He is a goddess and she is great and her birthday is today which
- 6:04is amazing. Super super fun and also happy
- 6:09birthday to my homie Mike. Mike from my band Salted Wounds.
- 6:13When you hear the ghost called intro music and the outro music
- 6:17that is Salted Wounds, the band Mike fronted.
- 6:20You can see this photo of Mike that we shared on our socials of
- 6:22me playing bass in the background.
- 6:24Jorge, what up? Not my Jorge from my band but
- 6:29another Jorge. But that's also cool.
- 6:31Every Jorge is welcome here and Tom Morello's mom is 102.
- 6:37Today or yesterday. Holy shit, he posted a really
- 6:40cute post of them making protest signs for her birthday.
- 6:44I think that's adorable. I hope I'm not cool.
- 6:47I probably won't get to be that old, but I hope I'm not cool
- 6:49when I'm older. It would.
- 6:51It would be kind of rad to be that old and still kicking that
- 6:55much ass. Celebrating album anniversaries
- 6:59this last week include Mastodon. The Hunters could be 15 years
- 7:02old next year. Holy shit, Gojira.
- 7:06I mean, this is Hey, Mark Badgers here.
- 7:09What up, Holmes? This Gojira record is 20 years
- 7:13old. Holy you.
- 7:14Just from March to Sirius. Jesus fucking Christ on a bike.
- 7:18I'm old. Stanker Nest next week.
- 7:20That's right. The album comes out this week.
- 7:21I'm super excited. We're still trying.
- 7:25We are vying to still get an interview with Shanker.
- 7:27Be cool if we did. But Sugar, this is a classic.
- 7:32Oldie, I'm big in this screen, y'all don't need to see me.
- 7:35Contradictions collapse. I can't see even with my
- 7:37glasses, so I don't know why I'm trying not to.
- 7:40Slayer. Divine intervention for many
- 7:43people. The best Slayer album of the 90s
- 7:46that's not Seasons in the US. Lamb of God's debut album.
- 7:50New American Gospel. Beck, a beer space.
- 7:58We are doing our rock and metal news.
- 8:01So if you're a rock and metal news fan, you want to be here.
- 8:05That's what we do. We're doing a quick rundown of
- 8:08all the news creator violent revolution.
- 8:12I do want to say like we were doing my other podcast this week
- 8:15and my Co host said he didn't like didn't care much for
- 8:18creator and Sean Henderson passed by also.
- 8:22And I was like it's it's OK if you don't like creator, but if
- 8:26you go see creator live, it's impossible not to enjoy them
- 8:29live. And I love that much like most
- 8:32German metal front people of all persuasions, you know, Creator
- 8:41is just so entertaining, just just the most entertaining band
- 8:44ever. Miley is incredible.
- 8:47He's like, you know, he kind of announces every song, like with
- 8:53that same gusto. And I fucking like it.
- 8:58W is here. What up?
- 8:59What up? So let's see what else?
- 9:02Sabotage. This is a golden oldie good
- 9:06record there. Iron Maiden No Prayer for the
- 9:08Dying Not a great record honestly but you know, solid.
- 9:12Ozzy, the very mixed No Rest for the wicked and was supposed to
- 9:16be like him. Jesus with the children.
- 9:18Apostles. Kind of in hindsight not a good
- 9:20album cover either. Records just so so.
- 9:22I know people love it. Hummer Fall with a bad ass one
- 9:30the worst Black Sabbath album with Ozzy kind of never say die
- 9:34with just a couple of good songs and that's all the metal history
- 9:38once again popped up the tip menu in case you want to drop us
- 9:42a tip if you want to jump over to anybody on TikTok.
- 9:46If you got a song you want me to check out for a tip, you can
- 9:49feel free to send us some money Player fame creators.
- 9:53Great. You know, not my favorite Ozzy
- 9:55album. We just did on my other podcast.
- 9:57We finished our series on Ozzy and we did the 1st 15 years of
- 10:00Ozzy albums. So Blizzard of Oz through
- 10:04Osmosis and the first few are incredible.
- 10:07I think no more Tears is incredible.
- 10:09And then the other records are kind of a they have big hits,
- 10:12but they're kind of a mixed bag of songs.
- 10:14So Speaking of Slayer, I'm wearing my Slayer parody shirt
- 10:18that says Selena on it with the Slayer logo.
- 10:21I also have a Slayer like Leia, which is also great.
- 10:27And so yeah, if you guys want to drop us a tip or subscribe to a
- 10:29scooters here one up scooter. Good to see you pal.
- 10:32We're doing the show we just started a little late start.
- 10:35I'm trying to bang through this thing.
- 10:38Time for some features here at Ghost Cult.
- 10:41So here's some big things we did this week.
- 10:45Big support from Pakistan. Thank you, MWZTGRM.
- 10:48Much respect, Much respect. Now it is a fun shirt.
- 10:54I'm not going to lie, I think it was Joey James Hernandez did
- 10:57this shirt. I could be mistaken.
- 10:59I did some live streaming this week in addition to this live
- 11:02stream and our other video interviews and things we'll talk
- 11:04about in a second. I talked about was Metallica
- 11:07snub for the Super Bowl. Did they really even have a
- 11:09chance to play the Super Bowl in their hometown Santa Clara with
- 11:14the 49ers? Play is about an hour or less
- 11:16than an hour South of the year where I live in San Francisco.
- 11:18Ghost Coat is a global organization.
- 11:21We have been around for a very long time, 13 years.
- 11:24Next week we will probably be doing the fun giveaway.
- 11:28One of you might win a box of merch if you're subscribed to us
- 11:31on YouTube and Instagram. So yeah, I did a whole deep dive
- 11:34on why Bad Bunny was chosen to do this role, why people are too
- 11:38mad about it, why Metallica was not considered.
- 11:40Will they ever do it? Other bands that could
- 11:43conceivably do it. Go watch that when you're done
- 11:45watching this. It's on our podcast, it's on our
- 11:47YouTube, all that stuff. Also also, I talked about gore
- 11:51and freedom of speech and just the riot fest, which we have
- 11:55covered many years but did not cover this year.
- 11:58But I felt like I wanted to jump on and talk about that.
- 12:00You have to be able to protect free speech and satire.
- 12:03Otherwise, they're going to start jailing metal bands for
- 12:06being, you know, politically active and, you know, opposite
- 12:09whatever other people think. Another interview we had this
- 12:13week on our podcast is Vimic. Mimic was the death metal
- 12:16project from Joey Jordison. And you know, he passed away a
- 12:19while back and Vimic has had this lost unreleased album that
- 12:24was completely done mostly. And it's finally coming out this
- 12:28week. It's coming out tomorrow.
- 12:30Open your omen. It's only had a few singles and
- 12:33never had the full album released.
- 12:35Maybe it got leaked to YouTube, I'm not sure.
- 12:37But the band is going to play a perhaps final gig or a gig in
- 12:42Los Angeles with the original band, minus Joey of course, and
- 12:47some other members of the band and a bunch of guest star
- 12:50drummers stepping in for Joey. So it's going to be pretty
- 12:53great. We have an interview with Jed
- 12:54Simon. You probably know Jed most from
- 12:56Strapping Young Lad and Tennet and bands like that.
- 12:59And then also Kaylin Chase, who's the singer of this band.
- 13:02So I interviewed the two of them.
- 13:03It's on our podcast. Check it out.
- 13:05It's a lot of talking about Joey.
- 13:07We all got kind of emotional talking about Joey, not going to
- 13:10lie. Leave Dye is here or Levy and
- 13:14the side def is here. What up?
- 13:15What up? So, yeah, very, very important,
- 13:18very important interview. In case you missed it, we also
- 13:23ran our interview both on YouTube and our podcast with
- 13:27Dallas Taller Wade of Narcotic Wasteland.
- 13:30He was formerly annihiled. He just wrapped up a huge tour.
- 13:33They're getting over to Europe soon.
- 13:35A whole lot of stuff going on with that band.
- 13:37We always have a good time talking to him.
- 13:39Big feature interviews this week on Ghost Cult here at YouTube
- 13:43and on our podcast include Nicholas Carlson of Orbit
- 13:47Culture, probably the biggest death metal band, the biggest
- 13:50death metal record of the rest of the year after Lorna Shore's
- 13:53album came out. And Nicholas is incredible.
- 13:57He talked about challenging himself as a singer and a whole
- 13:59bunch of other stuff. So super cool.
- 14:02You know, there was a big kind of scrum to try to sign them to
- 14:08a record deal. So it's kind of awesome that
- 14:10they, you know, they kind of persevered.
- 14:12Really very impressive stuff. Also also, my partner Omar Cordy
- 14:19interviewed Matt Barlow of Ashes of Airs and formerly of Iced
- 14:23Earth. And maybe someday again of Iced
- 14:25Earth. We'll see.
- 14:28Ashes of Aries is on tour right now in Europe and they are
- 14:32playing The Dark Saga by Iced Earth in full.
- 14:35That's Matt Barlow and Freddie Vidales, his power metal band,
- 14:38and Omar is a great interviewer and he did almost an hour
- 14:41interview with that. So if you want to dive deep into
- 14:44this thing, you definitely want to check it out.
- 14:45Orbit Culture is absolutely amazing and I've seen them live
- 14:48now twice and they were crushing heavy.
- 14:51I really haven't felt this good about a band in a long time.
- 14:54Maybe since Gojira or Nemec, I don't know.
- 14:58But yeah, Matt Barlow, I met him.
- 15:00Good dude. You know, he is the
- 15:02brother-in-law of John Schaefer. We don't have to talk about that
- 15:05right now. But yeah, very solid dude.
- 15:08He was wearing kind of like a newsy hat in the interview that
- 15:11made me think like, oh man, you are.
- 15:45Hey, I'm back, so we are not on iHeartRadio.
- 15:49Thanks though. You know, I am trying to get
- 15:51through a whole new show and then I got to get out of town.
- 15:53But if you pop back up in a future episode and you jump on
- 15:56early and ask us to jam some music, I'm happy to.
- 16:00Realistically, one of the things we do here is we're trying not
- 16:04to get demonetized because we do have a lot of content that is
- 16:07our own. But also, like, you know, it's
- 16:10really weird. I don't know if anybody else
- 16:11here works in social media. I do.
- 16:13I'm a marketing professional. Not just the music, but other
- 16:17people. Plus, being produced by Buster
- 16:19Oldham is fire, bro. I'm with you, Scooter.
- 16:23Yeah. So, yeah, Dillinger is here.
- 16:28What's up? So now I got several of my
- 16:30everydayers, Dillinger and Scooter.
- 16:33But I'm enjoying this conversation, Becky.
- 16:37But yeah, just today I'm trying to get through to the end of the
- 16:39show pretty quickly because I'm trying to get out of town.
- 16:47It's on fire. 61 is here. Becky, friend is here.
- 16:51Thank you for sending a pumpkin. Feel free to give us a tip or
- 16:57send us some hearts or something.
- 16:59I appreciate it. All right, So yeah, I'm just not
- 17:04getting demonetized is my number one job here is, you know, it's
- 17:09just really hard. If we put up like a video on
- 17:11YouTube, it doesn't have the same rules as Instagram and
- 17:15TikTok and they're all different and it's really challenging.
- 17:18Dylan, Jared, Aftershock and Furnace fest this weekend.
- 17:21Dude, I'm missing Aftershock. I'm pretty bummed, but I'm
- 17:23having some FOMO. But I just couldn't pull it off
- 17:25the go and get some personal stuff going on.
- 17:28I'll be OK, but I can't make the festival this year.
- 17:31I pulled out, which sucks. I will get a few interviews done
- 17:33the next couple of weeks with some of the bands that are at
- 17:36it. I just won't get to be there in
- 17:38person, which, you know, it's kind of a bummer.
- 17:40All right, let's get this back on track.
- 17:43So yeah, oops. Band camp, Friday, birthdays,
- 17:48metal history. We're going to do festivals in
- 17:51just a second. So we're talking about albums
- 17:53out this week and then features. So we did all the interviews,
- 17:59some live streams. I also did some concert reviews.
- 18:01I like doing the concert review of Nine Inch Nails.
- 18:05And then I jumped on late last week and I did a review of or
- 18:08Druna, Baroness and the Sword. Not in that order.
- 18:10But those are the last three shows that I saw.
- 18:13The next show I'm probably going to is Gore and Helmet and or
- 18:17maybe Priest and Alice Cooper and Corrosion and Conformity.
- 18:21And because I don't have enough to do, I also have another job
- 18:24that is the glacially musical podcast Beer, Metal and
- 18:27swearing. This week we did a special
- 18:29collab live stream. So we streamed on all our
- 18:32channels. Normally we record it and then
- 18:33post it. And then we did a what you do a
- 18:36series. Oh, I'm going to talk about
- 18:39sepsis in a minute. If you can hang on Dylan Dern,
- 18:41like give me like 10 minutes. We had just done our series on
- 18:46Ozzy Osbourne, which you can go back and listen to.
- 18:47We did the 1st 15 years of albums of Ozzy.
- 18:49Maybe eventually we'll do the rest if there's enough interest
- 18:52and people comment on the on those videos and want us to do
- 18:55more. And so we we did a chaser
- 19:01episode and we reviewed the top rock and metal albums of 1995.
- 19:06Could be controversial. Could be controversial.
- 19:09Originally I was like, this record is this year is hard and
- 19:12it's not that good. And then I was like, oh, it's
- 19:15actually really deep and good. And especially that like trying
- 19:18to pick three at the top was fucking impossible.
- 19:21But I did Bob Wizard this year. What up Bob Wizard?
- 19:24Great to see you. I have gotten your messages and
- 19:27I am checking out your new album.
- 19:28Thank you. All right, that's all the
- 19:31minutiae done in about 20 minutes.
- 19:33Now it's time for the news rundown.
- 19:35And we always start the news rundown with metal festivals and
- 19:38of course, Dillinger. As Dillinger alluded to,
- 19:41Aftershock is this weekend. Olympic and myself everywhere
- 19:44but TikTok and Aftershock you know is it already started today
- 19:50acid bath power strip played Hatebreed SOD which is Jamie
- 19:54Josta and you know, Dan looker and Scott Ian with revel Ian on
- 19:59Trump's. Hollywood Undead, All American
- 20:03Rejects and then Kind of Good Charlotte Taking Back Sunday,
- 20:05All Time Low, Alkaline Trio, State Champs, Hoobastank, The
- 20:09Ataris who have a new song out this week and Blink at the Top
- 20:12Tomorrow. Deftones, Deftones, Turnstile,
- 20:15Not Loose, Dillinger's Gay Plan, Perfect Circle, Lamb of God,
- 20:19Bruce Dickinson, Carrie King Solo, Dream Theater, Randomly
- 20:24Testament, Exodus and a few other bands.
- 20:31That's kind of cool. And then Saturday, Corn Gojira,
- 20:35Chevelle, Bad Omens and Rare festival date here. 3 days Grace
- 20:40Trivium, new EP coming soon for Trivium.
- 20:43Dragonforce Bring me the Horizon on Sunday with Manson,
- 20:47Motionless and white Black Veil Brides, Rob Zombie, Mudvayne, in
- 20:50This Moment, Machine Head, Flyleaf, Pop Evil bunch of
- 20:55bands. So kind of cool.
- 20:57Thank you, Zachary. I appreciate you.
- 20:59Zachary Spicer is here and Bud Bolle is here.
- 21:04What's up, What's up, what's up? Like canthrope management, we've
- 21:07been messaging. So yeah, big big festival
- 21:10weekend. We are covering I could not go
- 21:12to Aftershock, but we are covering Punk in the park in San
- 21:16Pedro, CA, which was the home of the no effects farewell shows
- 21:21last year. Punk and Rub Lick and Bad
- 21:24Religion Who I love Pennywise Descendants.
- 21:27We got some big Descendants news coming up soon.
- 21:29Interrupters face to face screeching usual.
- 21:32I don't give a fuck about addicts.
- 21:33Great stuffed little fingers. St.
- 21:34Dogs, Comeback Kid, The Bronx, Casualties, True Sounds of
- 21:41Liberty, Adolescence, Agent Orange, Manic Hispanic, Teenage,
- 21:44Bottle Rocket, Gutter Mouth, 1234, Slam Bomb Pops, Dwarves,
- 21:50Ignite, That by Stereo, and a bunch of other bands.
- 21:53It's just going to be great. Our homie Wayne Edwards is down
- 21:55there going to review and photograph.
- 22:00Yeah, I really want to go see Priest and, and, and, you know,
- 22:03I wouldn't mind seeing Manson again.
- 22:05I think it'd be interesting to check him out.
- 22:06He's sober, apparently. I've heard some very good
- 22:09reports from the tour, some photographers that we work with
- 22:13down in the LA area. We're covering that Manson tour,
- 22:16like out on the tour with the opening band Black Satellite,
- 22:19one of the biggest rising bands fans right now.
- 22:21And they said that Manson was like back to like the peak of
- 22:24his power because he's healthy for the first time in a long
- 22:27time. So good for him.
- 22:29I did a review of the Manson album.
- 22:31I felt like nobody was talking about.
- 22:32It was pretty controversial. People were mad that I did it.
- 22:34But you know, we, we live in challenging times, my friends,
- 22:39challenging times. Furnace Fest this weekend could
- 22:43be the last Furnace fest. I hope not, but they did have to
- 22:49like discount the tickets and and scale back some of the after
- 22:52shows. But I do hope they continue.
- 22:54I was always hoping to go to this.
- 22:55Jimmy World headlining tonight, Dropkick Murphy's headlining
- 22:59tomorrow, Knock Loose headlining Sunday with Converge and
- 23:04Biohazard and a bunch of other killer bands.
- 23:06Very cool, very cool. Also announced for next year the
- 23:11first bands for Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville.
- 23:14Sonic Temple going very heavy into like the death metal.
- 23:18We already know that they're going to have My Chemical
- 23:22Romance at one of these Godsmack 7 Dust All That Remains Saliva
- 23:29Nonpoint Spine Shank El Nino Primer 55 for Rockville and the
- 23:35Lorna shore in particular of interest to me for and and brand
- 23:40of sacrifice in Sonic Temple, which will have some other huge
- 23:44announcements soon. All the Danny Werner fest.
- 23:47They do a great job. We're big fans.
- 23:49Tennessee metal Devastation Fest reveal their entire schedules
- 23:53headlined by the deaf Corbin Filth that we interviewed a
- 23:56while back and Summoner Circle, the homies in Casket Robbery,
- 24:02Frail, who I'm still a huge fan of Visit Tent Big fan of that
- 24:05album that just came out. Red Mountain and a bunch of
- 24:08other bands that takes place next weekend.
- 24:13Ah, nice. The red headed piece.
- 24:15The redacted piece is Dillinger. That's fun.
- 24:17Thanks, Dillinger. Yeah, that's the old poster.
- 24:18I'm sorry, that's the best I could do.
- 24:21I really was hoping. And so we were supposed to cover
- 24:23Furnace Fest last year when we thought it was the last one, but
- 24:26we, you know, we didn't get a chance to get it, you know, kind
- 24:29of fell through. We had a really kind of a tough
- 24:32year. And I'm not complaining because
- 24:34I love my team all over the world.
- 24:35We cover metal festivals and concerts every week all over the
- 24:38world. But we just had a run of bad
- 24:40luck where a lot of people had family stuff or illnesses and
- 24:43stuff. And I, I'm a person, even though
- 24:45I don't have any immediate family left alive and I've
- 24:48talked openly about that. I'm a family first person.
- 24:52So my chosen family, my friends, my girlfriend, her family, now I
- 24:56will put them always first before any of this stuff is not
- 24:59that important. All right.
- 25:02Also, this got announced. Oops.
- 25:04I'm just too fast. Takedown festival for next
- 25:08spring. Phil Campbell and the Bastard
- 25:09Sons playing all of Motörhead President, who's got their first
- 25:14few American shows coming soon. Let's see, South of Salem,
- 25:20Lastel, Mouth Culture, Great Band, Azomel and some others.
- 25:26There's many more bands going to be announced yet.
- 25:28Prepare the Ground. I didn't have a chance to grab
- 25:30that. I don't have a chance to grab
- 25:32that poster, but I am excited about Prepare the Ground.
- 25:36I will tell you it's a long way off and I'm not sure what's
- 25:40going on with my life, but Mike, I already gave you a shout out
- 25:44for your birthday. I hope you saw it.
- 25:45Happy birthday brother, I appreciate you and I hope to see
- 25:48you when I come back your way or maybe you'll come out here for a
- 25:50game sometime. Prepare the Ground I'll be
- 25:53honest with you, it's right around the time of Maryland
- 25:55Death Fest and I would really like to go see it.
- 25:57So next week we'll talk more about Prepare the Ground.
- 26:00I think it's the final and only North American show for Small
- 26:04Bard, who I'm a huge fan of the black and death metal band from
- 26:08the UK. This is kind of sucky.
- 26:11So Metal Threat Festival is supposed to take place this
- 26:14weekend in Elgin, IL, which is right outside of Chicago.
- 26:18If any Chicagoans are here and know about this.
- 26:21And so at the last minute, a whole ton of bands got their
- 26:25visas cancelled or not come through, which again, this is
- 26:28we've been talking openly about this, you know, regardless of
- 26:32who you. Hey, Valkyrie called Queen.
- 26:36Are you talking about the Metal Threat Festival is at tonight?
- 26:39I'm really sorry that they're going to me.
- 26:41I am on the side of metal and metal festivals and metal bands
- 26:45and people. So I'm not oh, nice.
- 26:47I'm not rooting for against them.
- 26:49I did feel like my peers over at Lamb go dunked on them a little
- 26:53hard. And I get that if you were a
- 26:55fan, they did offer refunds. I think also if you were a fan
- 26:59and of going to this festival and a bunch of bands dropped out
- 27:03of the last second, you would feel cheated and upset because
- 27:05you were looking forward to it. But like, this is the reality.
- 27:08Bands from Europe are going to have a hard time coming here and
- 27:11securing visas and new work visas to come here.
- 27:14Our bands in the USA are going to have a hard time going over
- 27:19to Europe and touring successfully because of these
- 27:22visas, because of tariffs, because of all these high
- 27:28things. I know that people don't think
- 27:30they're all connected, but they're actually all
- 27:32interrelated. So again, my heart goes out to
- 27:36anybody that was going to this festival and their band is not
- 27:39going to be there or their fan of their band should have
- 27:42planned farther ahead. Well, you know what's
- 27:44interesting? It's hard to know.
- 27:46And a lot of bands get visas and then the visa process is not
- 27:50transparent. I know people are really mad,
- 27:53but I don't think you should be dunking on the fest.
- 27:55The same thing happened to Prague Power, where for years
- 27:58Prague Power is the only festival that I know of in the
- 28:00world that will pay for the visa fees for other bands to come to
- 28:05their festival. So they get a lot of exclusive
- 28:08progressive metal bands that come there.
- 28:11But then the prices quintupled in less than a year and they had
- 28:16to ask for additional like Kickstarter money from their
- 28:19fans and people were happy to pay for it.
- 28:21But I don't know about that. All right, Metal Threat
- 28:24Festival, I'm, I'm, I'm rooting for you.
- 28:26And I am sorry that this happened, that I'm not dunking
- 28:28on them. I get that people are mad.
- 28:32OK, Just on to some concert news where Truna wrapped up their
- 28:36headline tour with Chelsea Wolf. We were really proud and honored
- 28:39to help collaborate with Rodrina's team on this tour.
- 28:43We will be bringing coverage of this Monday to the site.
- 28:45I already did a live stream review of the first night of the
- 28:48tour and some merch posts over here at Ghost Cult on YouTube
- 28:53and other places, and just an unbelievable tour.
- 28:57If you have a chance to see Wardruna again in the next year,
- 28:59absolutely go see them. They are so fucking good and
- 29:03Chelsea Wolf's incredible. I hope she's going to put a new
- 29:05album out soon. Wardruna Burner Burner, one of
- 29:08my favorite albums of this whole year.
- 29:11My Chemical Romance tickets are on sale now for the Black Parade
- 29:142026 tour. We told you about that a little
- 29:16bit last week. Now we know the tickets are on
- 29:18sale. Ghost announced the Skeletor
- 29:20World Tour 2026 starting in North America.
- 29:23More dates to follow soon. If you're a Ghost fan, another
- 29:27arena tour. Bands I never thought would play
- 29:30in, you know, festivals and, you know, festivals and arenas and
- 29:37stadiums. Ghost and My Chemical Romance
- 29:39and Sleep Token. Parkway Drive has kicked off
- 29:43their UK tour this week, and Architects is also kicking off a
- 29:46tour next week. We will be covering Parkway
- 29:48Drive Monday night in Manchester.
- 29:51Fucking awesome. I'm psyched that is the 20th
- 29:54anniversary Parkway Drive for 9 Inch Nails as announced.
- 29:58Peel it back 2026 N American dates again with Boys Noise.
- 30:02We saw that tour. It was fucking phenomenal.
- 30:05I went personally, it was really incredible kicking off in New
- 30:09Orleans right around the Super Bowl and ending here in my
- 30:12backyard in Sacramento. Hey, Don is here southeast of
- 30:15heaven. What up, brother?
- 30:16Don, I mentioned the Glacially musical podcast.
- 30:19You were missed this week, pal. Maybe you would have rained in
- 30:22Nick's King Diamond worship. I love King Diamond, but just
- 30:25not his bad records. He has some bad records.
- 30:28Again, mentioning Judas Priest and Cooper kicked off already
- 30:32playing festivals and stuff this weekend, and then they are
- 30:35coming my way in about two weeks.
- 30:38So maybe I will go to either Shoreline Amphitheater or
- 30:42Wheatland, I don't know yet. Christopher's here is here, so
- 30:50yeah, very cool. He will take care of him next
- 30:52week. The Nyquil has kicked in.
- 30:54All right brother, I appreciate it.
- 30:56Mudvane is in the middle of their LD 5020 fifth Anniversary
- 30:59tour. That is probably the band I
- 31:01wanted to see the most at Aftershock was Mudvane.
- 31:04Jury is out if we can still cover this tour now because that
- 31:07was my window to see them. Dark Angel on tour again.
- 31:10I have an interview that just ran with.
- 31:14Why don't we have a show on iHeartRadio?
- 31:16That is a good question. Dark Angel Extinction level
- 31:19event, new album out now. Tour on tour now.
- 31:22They are also coming around my way soon.
- 31:24I think they're playing here the same day as Gore or thereabouts.
- 31:29Got a check? Hey, Gabe is here.
- 31:31What's up, brother? Appreciate you being here.
- 31:34Yeah, Gene is the beast man. Better lovers tours kicking
- 31:37already kicked off in Europe, and they're running for another
- 31:40few weeks. Oh, are you happy?
- 31:44I got it, Gabe. I appreciate that.
- 31:46Good to see you, bro. What is your shirt?
- 31:48Oh, my shirt says I'm sorry. So really quick.
- 31:51I'm wearing my Slayer shirt, but it says Selena because anything
- 31:55for Selena's not Selena Gomez. Selena, the Mexican singer that
- 32:00was tragically killed young. She should have been, you know,
- 32:04one of the biggest stars in the world.
- 32:06She could have done the Super Bowl.
- 32:08He was getting that big. All right, ZOTH is wrapping up
- 32:13the EXO Galactic Actuality tour this weekend.
- 32:16We had a recent interview with them.
- 32:17Great band for your progressive death metal bands.
- 32:20Melissa's here. What's up, Melissa, my love, how
- 32:22are you? I will see you soon.
- 32:24Running a little behind. I had a bunch of technical
- 32:26problems. It's always something.
- 32:28Bob. Helmet, Gore Dwarves, Blood
- 32:32Vulture. Gore presents.
- 32:33The return of Gore. Gore Gore will never be bigger
- 32:36than they are right the fuck right now.
- 32:40Becky, I appreciate you liking this shirt.
- 32:42Thank you, Big Don Moolah. Hey, that's a fun rhyme right
- 32:45there. She busted a rhyme.
- 32:49We were calling Nick thick with two CS thick Nick today because
- 32:53he's girthy. He's our he's our host.
- 32:55We love him. But yeah, glory will never be
- 32:57bigger than this moment right now.
- 32:58All these dumb ass people hating on them like did not notice that
- 33:02they have been doing this shit for 40 years anyway.
- 33:06Fucking idiots. All right, Earn once again on
- 33:09tour right now in the UK. European dates later this winter
- 33:13with Orange Goblins for their final dates.
- 33:16Ever Orange Goblin hanging it up.
- 33:18I understand why Dark Angel not streaming the music online, in
- 33:21my opinion, was a poor choice. Well, if you go, I don't know if
- 33:24you watch like Dillinger. I love that you're here.
- 33:26I don't know if you actually watch our band interviews, but I
- 33:29interviewed Gene and he talked openly about it.
- 33:31He hates streaming services. He thinks they robbed the bands
- 33:35and he just didn't want to have his.
- 33:37He wants people to buy the vinyl in the he buys the vinyl and he
- 33:42bought. He wants people to buy the vinyl
- 33:44and he wants people to buy the CDI.
- 33:45Think it is a miscalculation maybe.
- 33:48I would have maybe put it limited on band camp or
- 33:51something. Or Ampwall if you didn't want to
- 33:53fuck with Spotify. You thought it said urine?
- 33:56They have a yellow band shirt with the black metal urn and it
- 34:01looks like you're in. Earn are proteges of Gojira, so
- 34:05Earn is not too dissimilar, like a sludgy or slower Gojira.
- 34:10I love this band. I've interviewed them.
- 34:12Great. Fucking banjo is the shit and
- 34:14their new record's going to be a killer.
- 34:18Metal militias here. What's up?
- 34:20What's up? What's up?
- 34:21You're in trouble. You're in for sloppy seconds at
- 34:24the gang bang. Mindless self indulgence.
- 34:27Oh, Jimmy, you're in. Oh, we can't talk about him
- 34:29anymore. He's canceled.
- 34:31All right, That's more than halfway through the show.
- 34:33Thanks for everybody watching so far.
- 34:35Just a reminder, if you want to drop us a tip, we are going to
- 34:38launch channel memberships, I promise next week between our
- 34:42subscriptions to our newsletter and YouTube, I'm going to offer
- 34:46private content and streams. That's why I launched my second
- 34:49channel, which I talked about. Please go follow me on YouTube
- 34:52at Ghost Call Kefi 666 and at Instagram that goes called Kefi
- 34:59as well as that goes cold man, gay man.
- 35:01You never have to pay, bro. We're we're in the circle of
- 35:03trust. You're a friend and I and I, you
- 35:06never have to donate. That's for everybody else that's
- 35:09not in the family or a ghost cultist or a real 1 and hot
- 35:12pockets word. I'll tell you I'll fuck up some
- 35:14hot pockets, but then my guts are going to hate me.
- 35:17All right, just a reminder. If you want to have a fucking
- 35:19dope beard like I do, you need to get on this Fable Beard
- 35:23products. Fable Beard or for the beardo in
- 35:25your life that loves metal. I love these products.
- 35:28They're all natural. They're awesome.
- 35:29My awesome, amazing girlfriend Melissa turned me on to this.
- 35:33And this is my favorite scent. The gin.
- 35:35I have the deodorant, I have the beard Co wash.
- 35:37I have another scent that I used here, the Bard.
- 35:40It's all D&D characters and they're specially blended
- 35:43scents. And I really, I love this shit.
- 35:47Yeah, I'm just going to spray it right now.
- 35:49I'm a smell like it right now. It's awesome.
- 35:52If you sign up with the link in our description, you get $10 off
- 35:55your first purchase and your stuff is actually pretty
- 35:57reasonably cheap. You get like a $25 single beard
- 36:00bomb or deodorants and things like a 2 pack for $25.
- 36:04You get $10 off and we get $10 credit.
- 36:06So I can get more stuff for my beard and my body.
- 36:09Not allowing the public to at least preview the music online.
- 36:12It's a terrible ideal or respected gene.
- 36:13Yeah. I mean, they should have put out
- 36:15more than one single, maybe several music videos.
- 36:18It's challenging, bro. It's really challenging.
- 36:21I didn't debate him about it, he said.
- 36:23This is where we are. It's a line in the sand.
- 36:25They don't want their music on Spotify for a variety of
- 36:29reasons. You know what we didn't even
- 36:32talk about when I did the live stream the other day?
- 36:34That Apple Music that is the sponsor of the Super Bowl
- 36:37halftime show featuring Bad Bunny and not any rock or metal
- 36:40bands, including Metallica or Journey, who are from the
- 36:43fucking Bay Area. Apple Music pays the worst, even
- 36:47worse than Spotify because there's their numbers, their
- 36:50pool. Apple Music premium and Apple
- 36:52Music have less users. I know iPhone people think that
- 36:55they're the shit and iPhones are fun.
- 36:57I had one for work ones. But yeah, they actually have
- 36:59less subscribers and paid subscribers.
- 37:01So they payless once again. If you see ads that goes cold
- 37:04man.com, our website, you are seeing stuff from the lamb goat
- 37:08media network. Yeah, Don knows Apple pays the
- 37:10worst. I think I think maybe what what
- 37:14Dark Angel should have did is went to amp wall or band camp
- 37:17and now perhaps my upcoming review of that album.
- 37:20We'll talk about it and we've been talking about this for
- 37:22weeks. Dillinger that people think they
- 37:24may be mailed it in. It's pretty generic thrash blah
- 37:27blah blah. They didn't send a promo out.
- 37:30Listen, they're publicist all over the world is a person that
- 37:33works with Ghost Coat and for Ghost coat.
- 37:36And so I asked can we get the record to preview it and review
- 37:40it to drive interest And they were like, they're not sharing
- 37:43the record at all. No one has heard this record
- 37:46unless they bought it. So if somebody out there bought
- 37:49the record and they can get in their video and say here's the
- 37:51record, I have it, right? If they can't do that, they
- 37:55didn't hear it. I'm telling you 100%.
- 37:57I know for a fact it wasn't sent out to anybody.
- 38:00Anyhow, Lamb, go Media Network for all your needs.
- 38:03They're kind of the meaner version, the ghost cult.
- 38:05Like I said, they were dunking on that festival.
- 38:07I felt kind of bad, but kind of that's their vibe, right?
- 38:09That's what they do. And again, stream Yard, if
- 38:14you're watching this, unfortunately everywhere but
- 38:15TikTok, you're watching this through the magic of Stream
- 38:18yard. Sign up if you want to stream
- 38:19like we do Thanks again. We've got quite a bunch of
- 38:22watchers on YouTube now and on somebody on Twitch and a few
- 38:27people on Facebook and a bunch of people on the gram.
- 38:30Thanks so much for being here, all the y'all.
- 38:32This is your show too. I want to settle an argument.
- 38:34Is Youngblood an industry plant? And the answer is no, he is not.
- 38:38I think we're going to talk about Youngblood in like
- 38:40literally 10 seconds. He is not.
- 38:46He is not an industry plant. So once again, we're on all the
- 38:50socials. We have a newsletter.
- 38:52It never kind of ends, but we're on all these things.
- 38:55If you like them. We also post on Discord and
- 38:57Reddit. We're on Blue Sky, we're on
- 38:58threads. I do love this meme.
- 39:00This is like the Bad Bunny is doing the Super Bowl and I'm not
- 39:04going to watch. And it's all these white herbs.
- 39:08You know, people even in the comments were not understanding.
- 39:11Hey, my homie is here. Jorge.
- 39:13What up, brother? Maybe we're going back to the
- 39:15studio this weekend. Jorge, I hope Abe reached out to
- 39:19you because he reached out to me.
- 39:21He's coming back to town. So let's get it.
- 39:23Let's get it. Angst music SF coming back.
- 39:26Follow us at Angst Music SF. All right, time for the rest of
- 39:30the news. And it has been a buck wild
- 39:32fucking week. Brand new single from Lamb of
- 39:36God out of nowhere, sepsis, music video and song.
- 39:39Like a different vibe. I don't know if I send it to
- 39:42you, Jay. I don't think so.
- 39:43But like very groovy. Kind of reminded me of the
- 39:47Slayer song or an old sepulturist, like a Sepulturist
- 39:50used to do before they went a little more punk rock.
- 39:53It's very dirt, like very heavy and Pantera groovy, like all the
- 39:56Lamb of God stuff. And then it's got like a pow
- 39:58thrash ending. Lamb of God has their
- 40:02Headbangers boat cruise coming up soon in Miami to Mexico at
- 40:06Cozumel and back and would love to go on one of these metal
- 40:11cruises someday, but I think I got to get my sea legs first.
- 40:14Jay, I'm going to text you later on from the road.
- 40:18Boston Chuck is passing by. What up, son?
- 40:20Sup kid. Fucking wicked pisser Yankees
- 40:23kid. They're coming back.
- 40:24I know you don't care. So again, the Super Bowl.
- 40:27This is the biggest discussion of the week.
- 40:30Just like why is the NFL, why is the NFL don't using like pop
- 40:37stars? But I I think this is actually a
- 40:38big deal. I was very impressed.
- 40:40I just really quickly to sum up my live stream from the other
- 40:43night. If you don't understand why the
- 40:46NFL is trying to attract global pop stars and not Metallica or
- 40:51or Guns and Roses of the Week, nice.
- 40:55You know, like I said, he's a huge, huge star.
- 40:57And the NFL, you know, here's I saw a really interesting stat
- 41:01that was sent to me. Five years ago, three of the top
- 41:06100 songs were considered Latin, rap, trap or reggaeton.
- 41:11And today it's 31 songs of the top 100 songs, whether it's
- 41:16streaming, Billboard sales, whatever the fuck.
- 41:19So you know what man, go take a shit, go take a leak if you
- 41:22don't like Bad Bunny. I was very impressed with him
- 41:24when I saw him at Fire Aid early in the year.
- 41:27I thought he was actually one of the most impressive artists that
- 41:31I saw and he's not a music I listen to, so I'm going to give
- 41:34him a chance. I love Kendrick and you know, as
- 41:39long as Jay-Z is booking the talent for the Super Bowl and
- 41:42driving the artistic vision, it will probably not see ACDC,
- 41:46Metallica, Guns and Roses, Def Leppard, Green Day, Nobody.
- 41:50I highly doubt it. All right.
- 41:53Did you see the first trailer for this Aussie documentary?
- 41:56There's several Aussie documentaries all coming out
- 41:58now. And there's also a very cool
- 42:00Marc Maron documentary that I want to see.
- 42:02I, I, I heard it's very emotional.
- 42:04This Aussie documentary trailer broke me and I'm not ready for
- 42:09the two documentaries again about additional stuff with
- 42:12Aussie and I don't know if people are watching.
- 42:14I Into the Void launch a week ago on Hulu and Disney Plus and
- 42:19I've watched about half of it and I need to kind of re watch
- 42:21it and take some notes before I do a extensive deep dive here
- 42:24and on the website. And the first episode is about
- 42:28the death of Randy Rhodes and it's chilling to see Ozzy even
- 42:31recently talking about him in the last couple of years.
- 42:33Just heartbreaking. Ozzy will have his revenge.
- 42:36Gabe, that is the best, the best comment ever.
- 42:41Francis Farmer will have her revenge on Seattle like Nirvana
- 42:44said. And Ozzy Osbourne will have his
- 42:45revenge on the squares. So Speaking of Youngblood and
- 42:52whether Youngblood is an industry plant, Aerosmith and
- 42:55Youngblood's song One More Time is officially the number one
- 43:00rock song in the entire world. Holy fucking shit.
- 43:03I didn't really need this song. I don't need to come back from
- 43:06Aerosmith. I don't need an EP from them.
- 43:09And is it really Aerosmith if it's just Steven and Joe?
- 43:11But got to say, pretty pretty killer song.
- 43:16I don't love auto tune on the rock vocal.
- 43:18Steven probably needs the auto tune.
- 43:20Youngblood is young and doesn't need it.
- 43:22But we shall see. There is also a vinyl EP version
- 43:27of this that's coming out and the Zeppelin.
- 43:30I didn't talk about this and and prepare a thing on it, but the
- 43:32Zeppelin it was like some murkiness about whether that
- 43:34Zeppelin EP was going to get released that live EP and it did
- 43:38come out and it is like in the top three on Amazon for sales.
- 43:43So that's pretty hot. I think it's going to sell out
- 43:45probably if you're ASAP fan I am Korn is going Speaking of vinyl
- 43:51is going to do a vinyl reissue of See You on the other side.
- 43:54I think this was a very misunderstood and awesome
- 43:56record. It is the record that they got
- 43:59to do MTV Unplugged. I wish that MTV would bring back
- 44:03MTV Unplugged as a new show with today's artists.
- 44:05I'd love to see Wolfgang Van Halen and Black Top Mojo and you
- 44:10know, Hailstorm do Unplugged. I would love to see some shit
- 44:13like that. But yeah, corn man, I'm, I'm
- 44:15excited. I reached out to their team to
- 44:16maybe send me a copy for a review here.
- 44:19I've been doing a lot of vinyl unboxings and reviews.
- 44:21The last one I did was incite Shadow of the Rain in Phoenix
- 44:25Music for sending me out. So let's see what happens and
- 44:27maybe we'll be giving away some corn vinyl.
- 44:29Also, this is pretty interesting.
- 44:33Peter Anders formerly have been Flames and currently of the Halo
- 44:36Effect, is now an assemblyman in his hometown in Sweden.
- 44:41He was one of the 25 people elected to the local parliament
- 44:47there. So he was like, I've been
- 44:49protesting and writing letters and attending rallies and all
- 44:52this stuff. And I felt like, you know what,
- 44:54the only way I can make a change is join the government and help
- 44:57fix it from the inside. So shout out to him.
- 45:01Joe Perry and Steven Tyler hate each despise each other.
- 45:04Cash grab. How lame.
- 45:05I hear you, bro. I wouldn't mind seeing one
- 45:08farewell concert from Aerosmith in Boston.
- 45:11They never got to do their goodbye.
- 45:15Yep, no problem. No problem, no problem, Gabe.
- 45:18I appreciate you bro. But yeah, not my favorite thing.
- 45:22I don't need Aerosmith coming back and I certainly don't need
- 45:24Steven blowing his voice out forever.
- 45:26He was already worn by doctors. He should not be like doing this
- 45:30shit anymore. Voivod has yet another book
- 45:34coming out. You know, Voivod has been doing
- 45:36if use and celebratory. There's a documentary of coming
- 45:40out about them that just premiered I think in Toronto.
- 45:42Dillinger is that right? Dillinger compound, Voivod
- 45:46documentary. And now there's a Voivod book.
- 45:48Voivod shared this picture of them like 15 years ago at Oz
- 45:52Fest again missing Ozzy and also shouting out Jason Neusted Jay
- 45:55Sonic in in the band. That was a while when Rob
- 46:00Zombie's bassist went to Metallic, went to Metallica,
- 46:04Metallica's bassist went to Voivod.
- 46:06It was wild. It was fucking wild.
- 46:10Wheel of Time is a brand new shred guitar metal project.
- 46:14This is pretty baller. I heard the first single today
- 46:17and I was very impressed. Check out Wheel of Time.
- 46:20I believe we this guy is the protege of, I want to say one of
- 46:28the Dragon Force guys. Oh, last year in Montreal, OK.
- 46:35They recently showed it in Toronto and I think Voivod is
- 46:38from Quebec, no? Or are they Montreal?
- 46:41I don't remember. I thought Quebec.
- 46:43I love, I love Snake Bellinger's accent.
- 46:47Dillinger, We've never spoken, so I don't know if you have one,
- 46:53Goofy. I'm sorry.
- 46:55This is pretty rad. We were telling you recently
- 46:57about the Uptown Rumble series of videos on YouTube, as well as
- 47:01the Uptown Rumble exhibition of New York City and especially the
- 47:05Bronx, NY, where I'm from. Metal and rock legends,
- 47:10underground hardcore, death metal, thrash metal, big, big
- 47:15bands like Kissing Anthrax and Steven Tyler, who technically
- 47:18was Yonkers but right next to the Bronx before he moved to
- 47:21Boston as a teenager and met Joe, who he now doesn't like.
- 47:25So the Bronx County Historical Society has put on this thing
- 47:29and I'm going to have an interview soon with the two of
- 47:31the three curators of the exhibition.
- 47:34And and that was a scene that my band's all played in and they're
- 47:39doing. George A Romero, Dawn of the
- 47:41Dead. I was wearing my shirt
- 47:43yesterday, almost wore it today. Jean Quierre, Quebec.
- 47:47I probably said that terribly. French is one of the few classes
- 47:49I ever failed in college. I'm ashamed to say it, but
- 47:53George A Romero, who is born in the Bronx and grew up there,
- 47:57they're having a huge retrospective of his work.
- 47:59So this is amazing and right, Going to New York City for a
- 48:02visit. Head on up to the Bronx, It's
- 48:04right by Yankee Stadium. It's all gentrified and mostly
- 48:07cool. It's not ghetto at all anymore
- 48:09in that neighborhood, and it's pretty fun.
- 48:12I don't think I'm going to get there in time to see the metal
- 48:14exhibition, but we are going to have some coverage of it at some
- 48:17point. I'm just waiting for some of my
- 48:18team to come free. This is really bad ass Joey
- 48:22Diabolic who is a great underground artist who's big
- 48:25into. He's done thrash, he's done Type
- 48:27O Negative goth rock, he's done industrial music covers.
- 48:31He has launched his own Hudson Valley scene rock and metal
- 48:35magazine. If you want to be featured in
- 48:37it, check out at Joey Diabolic on all the Socials and HVCHV.
- 48:42Scene, I believe has their own their own socials too.
- 48:49Jason Virus is back clean. The band is here.
- 48:52What up? What up, what up?
- 48:53Anybody that gives us a follow during these things, I will
- 48:55follow you back. Guns N' Roses Axl Rose is
- 49:01getting the graphic novel hardcover treatment from
- 49:05Sumerian Comics. Ashley Vilson of Sumerian
- 49:09Records. I met those guys at a Comic Con
- 49:12a couple years ago. And Axel basically like from the
- 49:15mind of Axel Rose. Axel's appetite for destruction.
- 49:19Guns N' Roses in the middle of a world tour.
- 49:22Got to imagine they're going to announce more dates soon.
- 49:24Fun pack. You did some dope with Away in
- 49:27Hamilton in 2016. Holy shit, bro.
- 49:30I love Michelle. He is one of my favorite human
- 49:32beings. Deftones, you know, continuing
- 49:36to blow up, booking additional tour dates and things for next
- 49:39year. We were talking about that
- 49:40recently. Obviously their new album
- 49:41Private Music is just blowing up everywhere.
- 49:44And Gino Moreno gave an interview, I think to Apple
- 49:47Music and then he did a follow up 1 and he said like, I'm kind
- 49:51of surprised that people are embracing the band as much as
- 49:54they have. Because he felt like when they
- 49:57did White Pony and took kind of a left turn into like dream gaze
- 50:01and shoe gaze and away from rap metal, except for a couple of
- 50:05songs here and there that he felt like people were going to
- 50:08flee them and they would not be popular anymore.
- 50:10Kind of interesting for him to have that self-awareness and
- 50:14self depreciation. Kind of interesting.
- 50:16Definitely not the Desolate, the death metal band, but Desolate
- 50:19from New York City, the hardcore influence thrash metal band.
- 50:22Friends of mine are coming out of retirement for a show in
- 50:26November. Which Force and Lies Beneath.
- 50:29We were telling you about the death of our friend Wayne from
- 50:31Lies Beneath not too long ago and the charity show supporting
- 50:35him and his family. My homies and Desolate are
- 50:37coming back. I sincerely hope they're putting
- 50:39out new music. Very exciting times.
- 50:43And the guys in desolate also have another band called Alec
- 50:46Keene's Gun, which features our homie Jessica Pimentel from
- 50:50Orange is the New Black and the wife of Thomas from the Sugar
- 50:55Thing. That's home festival.
- 50:56This is coming soon, just not announced.
- 50:59Features The Mensinger's is always kind of like a folk emo
- 51:03festival kind of cool. This is Tesseract.
- 51:07Tesseract is Speaking of another band with a reissue.
- 51:10They're doing a 10th anniversary deluxe vinyl package for
- 51:14Polaris, which also featured the the return of Dan Tompkins to
- 51:18the band. They've been making new music,
- 51:20they're writing new music, so this is coming out too.
- 51:22I also put in to maybe do some press around this, maybe get a
- 51:25copy, maybe talk to the band. It'd be kind of fun.
- 51:27I've interviewed Dan and Amos and I know James of Tesseract
- 51:32pretty well because he's a very well known music marketer and
- 51:35publicist in the UK. Good times.
- 51:39No Depeche Mode movie is 3 weeks away and I am stoked.
- 51:44Concert film and behind the scenes stuff.
- 51:46I believe there's a Fathom Events.
- 51:48Hey Mike Mazer, what up pal? Long time no see.
- 51:51I hope you're well. Depeche Mode.
- 51:53That's what I love about these live streams people pop on that
- 51:55I don't get to talk to because social media is kind of like you
- 51:59don't get to ever see who you want to see and you don't really
- 52:02get to get in front of new people either.
- 52:04It's fucking wack. But Depeche Mode movie I am here
- 52:09for this. This is in three weeks.
- 52:10I'm very excited. I'm also super excited about
- 52:12Tron areas. I I'm going to listen to the
- 52:14soundtrack this weekend finally and I'm pumped.
- 52:18I'm super pumped. Oh man, this is fucking tough.
- 52:22So I don't know if you know this just a little classic rock shit.
- 52:25Here for minute Static X lovers here let's talk about this Tina
- 52:30Turner statue in Brownsville, TN.
- 52:32So Tina Turner is from Brownsville.
- 52:33They erected a statue, a 10 foot statue of her.
- 52:37You know, we got a Lemmy statue. We really need a Dio statue.
- 52:39We've got a Philo statue in Dublin for Den Lizzy.
- 52:43But we don't have we, you know, we, we could use some more
- 52:47statues. And so the sculptor Fred and Joe
- 52:55is under fire. People think this, this thing
- 52:57looks terrible. I'll let you be the judge that
- 53:00he went with kind of like an impressionistic take on her.
- 53:04She has like a giant head of hair, which Tina was all hair,
- 53:08right? Skinny lady with big ass hair
- 53:10and like it's a physical representation of how she used
- 53:14to be on stage. So she used to hold the mic like
- 53:16this with the finger point and always kind of like with the
- 53:20dancers strut. I love me some Tina Turner.
- 53:23What a loss, especially to find out that the last 10 years of
- 53:27her life was very, she was very ill, which makes me sad.
- 53:32But Fred and Joe, like they finally, it was getting so much
- 53:38hatred all over the world and all over the Internet that they
- 53:41had to put out a statement. So I'm going to just read this
- 53:44really quick. My name is Fred Ajano, sorry
- 53:48Ajano. And I'm the artist that created
- 53:50this sculpture. I've been working on it for a
- 53:51while. It took me some time.
- 53:53I wasn't rushing because I wanted to take my time to make
- 53:55sure I get it right. So I tried to achieve 3 things.
- 53:58First, her movements. I wanted her to be seen in
- 54:00flexible form on stage. The second thing is the hair.
- 54:03I used to emphasize her strength as a woman that goes with the
- 54:06mane of a lion and then very soft, very heavy and strong.
- 54:10And the last is the finger point.
- 54:12I want people to know something is good.
- 54:13Everybody loves it, but it can never be Tina Turner.
- 54:15You can copy her, but there's only one.
- 54:17So I'm happy to do this sculpture for the Brownsville
- 54:20community and the whole family of Tina Turner with her fans.
- 54:23I see a lot of them here, and I'm very happy and pleased.
- 54:26So, man, like, the Internet just doesn't disappoint.
- 54:32The Bon Scott statue rules. Yeah, I got to go see that
- 54:34sometime, too. So yeah, man, just I get it.
- 54:38Like it's a representation. It's kind of like an artistic
- 54:41representation. It's not a one to one of how she
- 54:44looked in real life. So I don't know.
- 54:46She's not here to comment on it and say she did not like it.
- 54:51Sonic Youth has just posted a graphic to all their social
- 54:55channels and they've been kind of broken up for a while.
- 54:56Kim Gordon has her second book coming out or the reissue of her
- 54:59additional book with new chapters, solo record.
- 55:02Thurston Moore still talking about black metal and making
- 55:07solo music and in the Washing Machine 2026.
- 55:11This is just a graphic on their social.
- 55:13So is it getting a reissue? Are they going to reunite in
- 55:16tour? I don't know.
- 55:17We've been fooled me once, fooled me twice, fooled me three
- 55:19times. Shame on me.
- 55:22I don't expect them to reunite to tour, but I could see it
- 55:25happening also. And you can see Lollapalooza,
- 55:28Riot Fest, you know, things like that.
- 55:31They could definitely do a world tour or at least the US tour.
- 55:34Paradise Lost is contour soon with Mesa out in Europe. 85
- 55:39albums of Paradise Lost on white people.
- 55:43As soon as one leaf hits the ground.
- 55:45I love this fucking thing. Guilty as charged.
- 55:49We'll be putting up the Halloween tree this weekend and
- 55:51listening to spooky music and maybe eating some spooky treats.
- 55:54Probably not so many treats. I like that the little baby is
- 55:59in the pumpkin. That's good.
- 56:01Good job, parents. All right.
- 56:04Also also the Downward Spiral redux from Magnetic High Records
- 56:08dropped another single today. I got to get my hands on this,
- 56:12so I'm going to hit up their publicist and talk about it.
- 56:15Let's talk about it now. It's time for new music Friday.
- 56:18Boy, we really ran through this thing today, so let's see what
- 56:25is out. It's a huge week.
- 56:27So I have my work cut out for me.
- 56:31We're just going hard to the end of the year on these new on
- 56:36these new record weeks. Just we just go, you know, we
- 56:41used to like slow down after October 1st or October 15th and
- 56:44not anymore. So we're going to do band,
- 56:49album, title, label if they have one in a genre.
- 56:52If I know the band at the Ross. The Darkness of Ancient Past on
- 56:56Cult Lever Dies for some death metal AFI and their weird creepy
- 56:59porn stashes. Silver Bleeds, The Black Sun on
- 57:01London for cover records or some I guess Deway division.
- 57:07Worship Agartha, the hidden EP No remorse records for some more
- 57:11metal. Agriculture.
- 57:12Probably the out my most pumped about this week.
- 57:15Agriculture. The spiritual sound on the
- 57:17Flenser here in the Bay Area. I'd love to talk to them
- 57:19sometime. Arson Charge.
- 57:20Dying Light. Great band.
- 57:22Al Servelt's breath moment of Collapse Records author and
- 57:25Punisher second most excited about them.
- 57:28Nocturnal birding on Relapse records.
- 57:30Best of the John Carpenter redux.
- 57:32This is best of doing covers of John Carpenter soundtrack stuff
- 57:35might be good. Blood Red Hourglass.
- 57:38We should be buried like this. Out of line records.
- 57:40Cathedral societies packed with Satan.
- 57:42This is a brand new cathedral song that is 31 minutes lost.
- 57:47This was like a lost song they never had out before, so I'm
- 57:50pretty fucking stoked. Let me know if you're still too.

- 1:00:28interview we had? Yeah.
- 1:00:29Tom Osmond did one for himself and for us.
- 1:00:31So I think he's doing the Steve interview.
- 1:00:34And I'm just waiting for Omar to publish, you know, finish
- 1:00:37editing it. That guy does a lot.
- 1:00:41All right, it's time for the mailbag.
- 1:00:42And then I'm getting out of Dodge.
- 1:00:43So I love that. Taking Back Sunday.
- 1:00:45Put this aching back Sunday and kill gosh damn it.
- 1:00:51My bad. Pretty funny.
- 1:00:55Thanks Dylan Dry please. I appreciate you.
- 1:00:58The mailbag is the last section of the show and what I do in the
- 1:01:02mailbag is I show off some stuff that I either got in the mail or
- 1:01:04I picked up at a store or metal things.
- 1:01:06I bought some merch at the show couple weeks ago.
- 1:01:08I showed my shirts from Baroness and the Sword.
- 1:01:11I've been showing some vinyls that I found a little stash of
- 1:01:13unchecked vinyls and unopened vinyls that I had from the last
- 1:01:16few years. I actually just did Dillinger
- 1:01:19Escape Plans deluxe reissue of Disassociation on the Glacial
- 1:01:23musical podcast. Dillinger, you can go check that
- 1:01:26out. It's fucking beautiful.
- 1:01:27If you don't have it, I'm sure you have it.
- 1:01:29So I went, I was pet sitting last weekend, which was very
- 1:01:32good for my extremely high blood pressure.
- 1:01:33Next week I promise to do that. I'll do that health check next
- 1:01:38week with my my numbers and everything middle and news.
- 1:01:42I'm OK, but I'm not the best. So I got work to do.
- 1:01:48So I went to I was a pet sitting, my favorite orange cat,
- 1:01:51Jacks. And in that town where I used to
- 1:01:53live, where Jax lives, is an awesome record store and a great
- 1:01:56comic book shop. So a big supporter of Ghost Cult
- 1:01:59is John Carter of Waterfront Comics in Sassoon City, right
- 1:02:03near Fairfield. And yeah, John is a big fan and
- 1:02:09a supporter. He is actually trying to put on
- 1:02:13Metal Fest next year. It's kind of a open secret, but
- 1:02:16he's becoming like a kind of scene, a bigger scene person
- 1:02:21locally up there in the Fairfield County area.
- 1:02:25So I went into the store just to see him and say hi and he, he
- 1:02:30gave me some stuff and I bought some stuff.
- 1:02:32So I just want to show off. I got this Batman, absolute
- 1:02:35Batman #1 all in. This is the biggest selling
- 1:02:37comic book of the last, I don't know, half decade.
- 1:02:39That's a major comic brand comic.
- 1:02:42Shout out to Ken Pierce of Piercing Metals sometimes pops
- 1:02:45up on these things. And he was a in my ear buzzing
- 1:02:48about this comic book and the, and the huge numbers it did and
- 1:02:51just how important it was to just help, you know, support
- 1:02:53comic creators right now. But I'm mostly like underground
- 1:02:57books these days when I do read things.
- 1:02:59So yeah, this, I'm very excited to page through this.
- 1:03:02And then I was trying to buy my favorite Iron Maiden album is #
- 1:03:06Slave. And I had a little bit of money
- 1:03:07leftover for my birthday and I was going to buy this Funko.
- 1:03:10And he's like, don't take that one, leave this one and instead
- 1:03:14take this for free. And I was like, what?
- 1:03:16And it's the somewhere in time Funko signed by Derek Riggs for
- 1:03:21John at a show. And I was like, man, I can't
- 1:03:24take that from you. That's worth a lot of money
- 1:03:26actually. Like dead did the box coming
- 1:03:28home, just the wear and tear on the Amtrak down to the city.
- 1:03:32But I was very overcome. Like he's a really sweetheart of
- 1:03:36a dude to give. He basically, you know, sold
- 1:03:39this to me, you know, for the price of, so I mean, gave it to
- 1:03:44me and I bought the other like unbelievable and kind and even
- 1:03:47like even Derek Riggs's signature.
- 1:03:49I don't know if you can see this looks like the Somewhere in Time
- 1:03:51bionic eye, the $6 million. Man, this is incredible.
- 1:03:59I love Iron Maiden and I love fun codes.
- 1:04:00As you know, as you've seen the fun codes here, here's a Funko.
- 1:04:05They're a Funko. There's a Funko of me actually.
- 1:04:09Give me everywhere a Funko. DO always nearby look out
- 1:04:15anyway. So Derek Riggs autograph Funko.
- 1:04:19And then again somewhere in time, my favorite Iron Maiden.
- 1:04:22I'm sorry, Power slave, my favorite Iron Maiden record.
- 1:04:25I'm fucking delirious here. So yeah, really fucking awesome.
- 1:04:29Geek culture for life. New York Comic Con is next week.
- 1:04:33All kinds of cool stuff. Geek things are happening.
- 1:04:35Electroblum is here, but what up, brother?
- 1:04:37I only have 3 Funkos, 2 Marvel and a chick from Squid Game.
- 1:04:40Nice. I really Squid Game might be a
- 1:04:42thing for us to watch this weekend.
- 1:04:43Also, Melissa, maybe watch the first one.
- 1:04:45It does have kind of a terror. It's not quite horror, but it
- 1:04:48has a terror element to it. And that's the show.
- 1:04:53And then I had the Funko logo up here.
- 1:04:57Yeah, I had the Funko logo. So that's the show.
- 1:04:59It's spooky season. Drop a comment and tell me what
- 1:05:02your favorite Halloween movie is or what your Halloween ritual
- 1:05:05is. And the Mosby's has also jumped
- 1:05:07in on the gram. Thanks brother, everybody, my
- 1:05:10real ones, new ones, new friends, old friends.
- 1:05:13Thanks for being here. Check out ghost called mag.com.
- 1:05:16Keep it to YouTube, especially where we drop a lot of our big
- 1:05:19feature content. Be safe out there this weekend.
- 1:05:22Please don't drink and drive. And as I say every week at this
- 1:05:25juncture of the show, it's a tough time in the world.
- 1:05:28So please take care of yourselves, take care of each
- 1:05:32other and stay as metal as humanly possible.
- 1:05:36And if everything cooperates, I'm going to dance a jig on the
- 1:05:40way out. Let's see what happens.
- 1:05:47It needs a minute. Technical difficulties the whole
- 1:05:50way. There it is.
- 1:05:52I get to dance a jig. Thanks for being here everybody.
- 1:05:55Have a great weekend. I appreciate y'all.
- 1:05:57Keep it metal.
