A haunting cold case from 1977 is back in the spotlight: Shari Roth, a vibrant 22-year-old social worker, vanished while hiking in Livermore and was later found strangled. Now, New Hampshire’s Cold Case Unit is releasing new photos and urgently seeking anyone who was hiking, visiting Bartlett or Lincoln, or working/living in North Conway between August 20–24, 1977. They’re especially interested in the owner of a red VW Bug spotted at Sawyer Pond Trail that day — not a suspect, but possibly holding vital clues.
