- 0:12Right, Jay Fallon, thanks for listening to The Slippery Slope.
- 0:17So last year I'd had a few suspicions that a few things
- 0:22were going on. I thought that the podcast, The
- 0:25Slippery Slope Podcast, was being restricted.
- 0:28I had my suspicions about how and why this was going on.
- 0:32I'd received a couple of communications which to me
- 0:35seemed to suggest that I was being monitored, maybe not just
- 0:39by YouTube but also by specific government agencies.
- 0:44I suppose you want to you can call them and I thought this
- 0:48might have been happening and a few things that happened with
- 0:52specifically with YouTube, but also also with some of the well,
- 0:56these things that go out on Spotify and that as well.
- 0:59And I thought it must be they they must have shadow banned.
- 1:03Obviously the podcast and they're putting restrictions on
- 1:07how far out it's it's the reach is going.
- 1:10And this was confirmed a few times I think when I had
- 1:14episodes while I was getting communications from from main
- 1:18ones from YouTube saying, hey, well we've looked at this
- 1:21episode and it's no longer restricted.
- 1:24The problem is no one had told me these episodes were
- 1:27restricted in the 1st place. And this, this has happened 12/1
- 1:33was 12 months. Another one was 18 months after
- 1:36they were initially restricted. So basically I've done an
- 1:39episode, YouTube had restricted the episode going out.
- 1:43They hadn't bothered telling me and in, you know, 12 months, 18
- 1:47months later, look at this, your your episode is now available
- 1:52for the public. Everyone's led to go and watch
- 1:54it. Obviously by then it's too late.
- 1:58You know, if that having things restricted for that long and
- 2:03this is going on over multiple episodes.
- 2:06And I think it's I thought I think it is a lot more episodes
- 2:10that have been restricted and they just not telling me and I'm
- 2:12going to find out in the future. Hey, look, you know, we've we
- 2:15finally released this episode. Look at this.
- 2:18So this has been happening. I'd assumed going by some things
- 2:23that I've heard and seen that there was some government, but
- 2:27this was government agencies not to be too, you know, too vague
- 2:34about things. But obviously there was there
- 2:36was some government agencies, people in in government anyway,
- 2:39somewhere watching or monitoring the slippery slope podcast to
- 2:46some degree. And I think this is part of the
- 2:50reason why I've had these restrictions restrictions going
- 2:53on. So this was basically confirmed,
- 3:02not on purpose. I found out kind of by accident
- 3:07that's this is definitely happening and that the episodes
- 3:13that the podcast is being monitored.
- 3:15Because all that being said, all I'm asking you for is if you're
- 3:20watching episodes of mine, please like and share, please
- 3:25make a comment, make a comment. And if you know, if you notice
- 3:30that you're not getting updates or nothing's coming over
- 3:33anymore, just flick me an email or, you know, put put a comment
- 3:37on older episodes, something like that that I can see and let
- 3:41me know. And if you're really not, and
- 3:44also if if you have Spotify or Apple Podcasts and stuff like
- 3:50this, check out the episodes on those platforms as well and
- 3:57subscribe if you can or just leave a comment, leave a rating.
- 4:01All these kinds of things help with pushing back against the
- 4:06restrictions. But this is what's been going
- 4:08on. So anyway, if you can't help, if
- 4:12it's in your power at all, I guess I'm not not asking for
- 4:16anything else, just likes, shares, comments, this kind of
- 4:20thing. But unfortunately, this is the
- 4:23way our society is gone where governments feel so well, how do
- 4:32you say it? Governments, they don't want
- 4:36openness. They don't want transparency and
- 4:40they don't like people pushing back against the narrative that
- 4:43they are pushing. They're putting out there.
- 4:46So if you don't toe the line and if you're not and if you're
- 4:50putting things, releasing it in social media and it might be
- 4:56just simply just clapping back at some of the things that they
- 4:59the narratives that they're putting out or even pointing out
- 5:03some of the things that they're saying.
- 5:04That's not really 100% true. Obviously they push back and
- 5:10they, they push back in, you know what is now unfortunately
- 5:15the legal way of doing things, but it's not which I suppose
- 5:20governments have always done this anyway.
- 5:22Governments and police, you know, they'll, they will use,
- 5:25they weaponize, weaponize the law.
- 5:28They weaponize the law against citizens who they don't agree
- 5:31with and they feel are a threat to them and their power.
- 5:36So in some small way, I suppose that's something to be there and
- 5:42say, OK, well, at least I've been noticed.
- 5:45I can be a little bit proud of, I suppose that someone's taken
- 5:48it upon themselves to, to push back and to fight back.
- 5:51And it might mean that maybe some of the things that I've
- 5:54said that have really hit a nerve, struck a nerve.
- 5:58Anyway, like I said, just like share comments, jump on check
- 6:03out the the stuff should pretty much be the same on Spotify or
- 6:09Apple Podcasts. Anyway, let's get to the main
- 6:12thing I want to check out today. This has just come.
- 6:15This is a story about QPS and it came out a couple of days ago.
- 6:18A big share that to my old mate, the the trolley boy, little one
- 6:25for for putting this out there for flicking this to me and
- 6:33we'll have a listen to the story.
- 6:34And I've just got a few thoughts that I wanted to share with you.
- 6:38Frustration tonight in the ranks of Queensland police following a
- 6:40decision to overhaul rosters on the Gold Coast. 9 News can
- 6:45reveal a trial will begin in January combining all the coast
- 6:48stations onto a single roster, but officers fear the new system
- 6:52may worsen burnout. Overworked and overstretched.
- 6:57100% police on the Gold Coast are feeling burnout.
- 6:59The frustrations of some frontline police now growing
- 7:02after management announced a roster overhaul on January 25.
- 7:06All Gold Coast stations will move to this single roster after
- 7:09officers were given seven options to vote on.
- 7:12What we want to try and do is better line our rosters to
- 7:14manage our demand so we can improve community safety but
- 7:17allow our officers to be able to work a roster.
- 7:20It gives them a work life balance and allows them to have
- 7:22less fatigue. But sources have told 9 News the
- 7:25changes will rely on the Rapid Action and Patrol Unit to fill
- 7:28station vacancies. Additionally, station inquiry
- 7:31sections, which handle administrative tasks like
- 7:33domestic violence paperwork, will be scrapped, potentially
- 7:36leaving General Judy's officers with a greater load.
- 7:39Will that not add to the load of officers and increase burnout?
- 7:42So we think there'll be greater flexibility in allowing people
- 7:45to do some of those functions across a broad spectrum of
- 7:47policing. One officer telling 9 News the
- 7:49feeling on the ground is that the roster reason going to work
- 7:53and that A1 size fits all approach is strange, claims
- 7:56senior management are defending. We're not taking rosters and
- 8:00changing them a complete 180. We're just moving them slight
- 8:03slightly so that we've got staff when the demand is and as we go
- 8:06through the trial we'll identify issues and either address them
- 8:09or have them included in the evaluation.
- 8:11The shake up comes after the police service engaged rostering
- 8:15experts with the trial to run for three months.
- 8:17A similar system will also be tested in the North Brisbane
- 8:21districts. I've got no doubt talking to
- 8:23staff, the majority of the staff on the Gold Coast want to see
- 8:25some change and I think if we can give that, we'll maintain
- 8:29community safety a lot better. Bailey, Kenzie. 9 News.
- 8:34Listen, I believe the main reason why we've got issues with
- 8:40QPS and with with the police all over this nation in every state,
- 8:47our governments, the people in leadership do not want
- 8:50functional police. It it's suits their agenda to
- 8:55have a police service or a police force that is suffering
- 9:00from burnout, that is, that does have all this internal bickering
- 9:04going on our I can only really talk about QBs as far as my
- 9:10experience goes, but the the leadership team within
- 9:16Queensland Police Service created an extremely adversarial
- 9:20workplace environment. I'll go back to what happened
- 9:24with the mandates. Police saw how easily it is to
- 9:31lose your job, to be stood down without pay.
- 9:33You're given a, you're given a man that you're given a
- 9:35direction that you don't agree with.
- 9:38You're made to partake, to participate in that direction
- 9:44under threat of losing your job, under threat of losing your
- 9:47income. And of course, of course you're
- 9:52going to go along with that. You, what other choice do you
- 9:56have, regardless of whether you think it's unlawful or not.
- 10:00So they've created this environment that's made for a
- 10:03very, very adversarial workplace environment.
- 10:07Now we've and it's given rise to a lot more, I think people on
- 10:12the ranks who are a bit more leaning towards dictators and
- 10:16despots, OK. And you don't have police who
- 10:20are willing to push back, to push back against the leadership
- 10:24regarding the rostering changes the leadership team have caused
- 10:29the issues have caused the burnouts because we've had so
- 10:33many police, so many experienced officers leaving.
- 10:38And yet they're not willing to deal with the issues at the top.
- 10:42They're not willing to, to, to face the issue, the facts.
- 10:46That is the leadership. That is the problem.
- 10:50They need a complete overhaul in the leadership.
- 10:53The reason why they won't have a complete overhaul in the
- 10:56leadership is that this is what the government wants.
- 10:59Regardless of whether it's Labour or Liberal, this is what
- 11:02they want. They don't want a completely
- 11:05fully functioning police service.
- 11:08They don't want a police service that that questions the
- 11:12government motives or pushes back against, against some of
- 11:17the government legislation. They just want a police service
- 11:20that will go along kowtow and just move along go along and and
- 11:27and just just follow the directions of whatever
- 11:32government is currently in order.
- 11:33They don't want to police force a police service that pushes
- 11:36back at all and this is called. This is given rise to a
- 11:40dysfunctional and a burned out within the Queensland Police
- 11:44service. We, we see the main reason for
- 11:46the burnout is because of the lack of police officers,
- 11:49regardless of whether they've, they've been able to bring their
- 11:52recruiting up within the last 12 months, they shouldn't have been
- 11:55in that position in the 1st place.
- 11:57And they're only in that position because they pushed the
- 12:00mandates, pushed so many police out there out of the service.
- 12:05They created this adversarial workplace environment and they
- 12:09are, they're paying the price for that environment that they
- 12:12created. The way I see it is that
- 12:14government doesn't want a properly functioning police
- 12:18service. They want a police service that
- 12:21just toes the line. So they're all, they're all very
- 12:24willing to have police who are constantly in burnout, who are
- 12:28constantly in fear of losing their jobs, who do not want to
- 12:31push back too much because you know you'll be stood down.
- 12:35They've caused this problem. That's not to say that I don't
- 12:39think trialling, trialling the, the roster is a, is a bad thing
- 12:45to do, but at the heart of it is the burnout, which is what
- 12:51they've caused. But now as I've said before, you
- 12:54know, they caused the problem and then they say, oh, but here
- 12:57let us, let us now fix the problem that they caused.
- 12:59But they don't want to admit that they caused the problem in
- 13:02the 1st place. But I think this has all been
- 13:05done on purpose anyway, because this is the type of officer that
- 13:08they are chasing. They want they're chasing the
- 13:11government's at large is chasing police officers that do not push
- 13:15back too much and just toe the line for the government agenda.
- 13:19That's my opinion. Let me know what you think.
- 13:23I'm Jay Fallon. Thanks for listening to the
- 13:25Slippery Slope.
