- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I, Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey, we're back at Almost Famous. It's Ben and Ashley.
- 0:10Speaker 2: We're together as a family today. You know, this is
- 0:12Speaker 2: a tight family, Ashley. This is our Bachelor Nation family. Again,
- 0:16Speaker 2: we're going to be expanding that family on the Bachelor
- 0:19Speaker 2: Nation cruise ship coming up.
- 0:21Speaker 3: We're expanding our family there?
- 0:22Speaker 2: Yeah, from you and I to more.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Oh, you mean like we'll be interviewing more people there soon?
- 0:29Speaker 2: No, like you and I are tight. And we're going
- 0:31Speaker 2: to sit there with other people.
- 0:33Speaker 3: I feel like we know everyone.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Do we know everybody?
- 0:37Speaker 4: I don't even know if there's anybody on there I
- 0:39Speaker 4: haven't met in person.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sure there's Grant Ellis. Have you met Grant
- 0:45Speaker 2: Ellis before?
- 0:46Speaker 3: No, I bet you Grant was not going to love us.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Why is that?
- 0:52Speaker 3: We weren't the nicest.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Oh, I feel like we were honest.
- 0:57Speaker 4: I know.
- 0:58Speaker 3: I think he'll probably be over it.
- 0:59Speaker 2: You know, Grant.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I'll be excited to meet him in person. Nothing we
- 1:05Speaker 2: said was against him personally. More like, hey, that was
- 1:09Speaker 2: just not... I don't think it's unknown to people. That
- 1:12Speaker 2: wasn't the greatest Bachelor season ever produced. That doesn't mean
- 1:16Speaker 2: he's a bad dude. I don't know anything about him.
- 1:18Speaker 2: We'll get to know more once we meet him. But yeah,
- 1:20Speaker 2: it's going to be exciting. The Bachelor Cruise is coming up.
- 1:23Speaker 2: But before we get to the Bachelor Cruise, we are
- 1:25Speaker 2: here to talk about a new show, The Mob. We're
- 1:27Speaker 2: going to be breaking it down here because there are
- 1:29Speaker 2: some Bachelor Nation... uh, alum, I'm actually going to say
- 1:33Speaker 2: one alum and one person that we never got to
- 1:35Speaker 2: see on our TVs, Maria Gorgas, and also Shane Parton,
- 1:40Speaker 2: who was on Taylor, Frankie Paul's unaired season are competing
- 1:44Speaker 2: on this new Hulu show. The mob. We're going to
- 1:47Speaker 2: break down episodes one and two today. Uh, Ashley, before
- 1:52Speaker 2: we dive into it, you know, people can watch the
- 1:54Speaker 2: show for the detailed overviews of what happens during each episode. Um,
- 1:59Speaker 2: But I watched this and I actually thought you would
- 2:02Speaker 2: be really good at it.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Okay, so the reason I think that I would be
- 2:06Speaker 4: good at it is solely because I have an Italian
- 2:09Speaker 4: last name. Because there was a point when producer Heather
- 2:14Speaker 4: texts us and she goes, they're all Italian except for Harry.
- 2:18Speaker 3: And then I was like, oh my God, they all
- 2:20Speaker 3: are Italian. And then I.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Realized like, no, not everyone. But they definitely chose people...
- 2:27Speaker 4: that had like some Italian last names. Um, and then apparently, uh,
- 2:34Speaker 4: Shane is 50% Italian.
- 2:36Speaker 3: I don't know like how much of a factor that
- 2:38Speaker 3: was into casting. It was a part of it.
- 2:40Speaker 4: There's like that woman from the Sopranos and then Debbie Vazer,
- 2:44Speaker 4: she was in Goodfellas. So, you know, they're, they're casting according.
- 2:50Speaker 2: This show is, you know, I think it's going to
- 2:54Speaker 2: get a lot of comparison to the Traitors, um, I
- 2:57Speaker 2: do think this show has potential because it is less
- 3:01Speaker 2: secretive than traitors, meaning everything's kind of out in front
- 3:05Speaker 2: of you outside of, you know, the Don making the decisions.
- 3:09Speaker 2: And that's why I think you'd be good. You know,
- 3:11Speaker 2: there is a lot of like gameplay, like activities that
- 3:15Speaker 2: I think when you put your mind to it, you're 100%
- 3:17Speaker 2: able to do. But I also think you're a trustworthy
- 3:20Speaker 2: person who people enjoy being around. And that's why I
- 3:24Speaker 2: was like, I think Ashley could actually kind of rock
- 3:27Speaker 2: this game i think you would be around.
- 3:29Speaker 4: A long time okay not to toot my own horn
- 3:32Speaker 4: but like in comparison to a lot of other reality
- 3:36Speaker 4: tv stars i'm like pretty chill yeah in real you
- 3:40Speaker 4: know i'm like pretty nice i'm not gonna be shady
- 3:43Speaker 4: I'm also going to be unbelievably honest in like, in
- 3:47Speaker 4: the way, not like.
- 3:48Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm going to say sassy things, but like
- 3:51Speaker 3: if somebody gave.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Me the money, I'd be like, yeah, he gave me
- 3:54Speaker 4: the money because like, I have to be transparent.
- 3:57Speaker 2: You don't stab people in the back.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 4:02Speaker 4: But I'm like in this show, do you kind of
- 4:05Speaker 4: need to like, do you need to, or can you
- 4:07Speaker 4: be fully upfront?
- 4:08Speaker 2: I think you can be fully upfront. I think there's
- 4:10Speaker 2: multiple ways to play the game and I think one
- 4:12Speaker 2: of the One of the strategies would be just being
- 4:15Speaker 2: completely upfront and letting everybody know, hey, you can give
- 4:19Speaker 2: me the money. I'm going to tell people that you
- 4:21Speaker 2: gave me the money. Yeah. And I hope to get
- 4:24Speaker 2: the money when I deserve the money. But here's the
- 4:28Speaker 2: setup of the show. In short, the contestants are there.
- 4:31Speaker 2: They do vote on and choose a Don who kind
- 4:34Speaker 2: of leads the group. The celebrities participate each week in
- 4:39Speaker 2: an activity that helps them– receive more cash. However, the
- 4:44Speaker 2: Don holds the ultimate decision on who stays and who goes.
- 4:48Speaker 2: And the whole idea of the mob is that this
- 4:53Speaker 2: is a family unit. And so together, they need to
- 4:56Speaker 2: work to collect the most cash possible so that the
- 5:01Speaker 2: family's wealth is increased. And the Don decides who stays
- 5:05Speaker 2: and who goes with the idea, I think, as the
- 5:09Speaker 2: leader of who's going to help us make the most
- 5:12Speaker 2: money throughout the season. That's the whole setup. And I
- 5:16Speaker 2: do think, as I watched it, I said, I do
- 5:20Speaker 2: think Ashley would be good at this because you would
- 5:23Speaker 2: be motivated. You like working on a team. And you're
- 5:27Speaker 2: easy to get along with because you're honest.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Well, thank you, Ben. Thank you so very much.
- 5:34Speaker 4: What I didn't understand right off the bat, and maybe
- 5:37Speaker 4: still not, I understand how Gorga became the Don. And like,
- 5:43Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure this is Melissa Gorga's.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Husband, Joe Gorga. He is on.
- 5:49Speaker 4: You know, Housewives of New Jersey has been for many,
- 5:53Speaker 4: many years. This guy was supposed to, you know, you
- 5:56Speaker 4: look at him and it's like he models his life
- 5:58Speaker 4: after being a Don.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 3: You know, of the mafia, right?
- 6:03Speaker 4: So... I think that it was very, I don't know
- 6:06Speaker 4: how they did it, but they definitely produced it in
- 6:08Speaker 4: such a way so that he could be the Don
- 6:10Speaker 4: of the first two episodes because like he just is
- 6:14Speaker 4: so natural in that role. And especially in the first episode,
- 6:17Speaker 4: you're like, okay, this is the best part of the
- 6:20Speaker 4: show is watching this guy live out his Tony Soprano,
- 6:24Speaker 4: like good fellas, godfather dreams.
- 6:27Speaker 2: With his outfits.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Yeah. Like he loved this. And I was like, oh, okay.
- 6:32Speaker 4: So is he going to be the Don the entire time?
- 6:34Speaker 4: And then you realize that, no, it's going to switch around.
- 6:39Speaker 4: But I guess my confusion, Ben, is how.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Does it switch? Like, they vote either to keep him
- 6:45Speaker 3: in the position or there's enough people who vote for
- 6:51Speaker 3: somebody else that it becomes somebody else?
- 6:53Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. And he would get removed then.
- 6:57Speaker 3: He would get removed as being the Don or he
- 6:59Speaker 3: would get removed from the show?
- 7:01Speaker 2: The Don.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yeah, the Don.
- 7:03Speaker 4: So... what do you think his strategy should be? Just
- 7:08Speaker 4: like as an example for, you know, these two episodes
- 7:11Speaker 4: and like going forward, what would your strategy be if
- 7:14Speaker 4: you wanted to stay in the position of being the Don?
- 7:18Speaker 2: That's a great question. I think there's two ways to
- 7:20Speaker 2: look at it. What he's doing now, which is eliminating
- 7:24Speaker 2: the weakest links. And so the family trusts him to
- 7:26Speaker 2: build the strongest family unit moving forward. That's one way.
- 7:30Speaker 2: The other way is, Which I think would be if
- 7:33Speaker 2: you want to keep power. It's kind of how you
- 7:35Speaker 2: keep power in anything else. You eliminate the biggest risks.
- 7:39Speaker 3: The strongest. It's either the strongest or the weakest.
- 7:43Speaker 2: The biggest personalities. The one that you know behind the
- 7:45Speaker 2: scenes is kind of wiggling their way to lead this family.
- 7:50Speaker 2: You eliminate them when you have the power and the seat.
- 7:54Speaker 2: I think Parker Posey, the host of the show, says it.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I don't know if this is actually true, but it
- 7:59Speaker 2: is a decent quote, is power is gained from taking.
- 8:04Speaker 2: And I think you take the power away from others
- 8:07Speaker 2: to increase your own power and make people more to
- 8:13Speaker 2: rely more on you as the Don. But he's going
- 8:16Speaker 2: with the opposite strategy. He's saying, hey, we want to
- 8:19Speaker 2: build the strongest team. I think this group is going
- 8:21Speaker 2: to trust me and support me because I am doing that. However, he,
- 8:25Speaker 2: I don't think, is taking into consideration the alliances behind
- 8:30Speaker 2: the scenes that are happening and also that all of
- 8:33Speaker 2: these people are big personalities that want to have his seat.
- 8:48Speaker 4: The two biggest reality stars right now on the show,
- 8:50Speaker 4: like current day, like of course, Bruno, Bruno from the
- 8:54Speaker 4: stars is on and he's been around for 21 years,
- 8:57Speaker 4: like he says. So obviously a big character, but the
- 9:01Speaker 4: two people who are very current, I would say is
- 9:05Speaker 4: Demi from secret lives of Mormon wives and Harry Josie.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Harry just comes off of having, I mean, he's been
- 9:12Speaker 3: on every reality.
- 9:12Speaker 2: He's like the new Johnny bananas. He's everywhere.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Crazy everywhere.
- 9:17Speaker 4: He goes and he has his own reality show where
- 9:19Speaker 4: he's a lead on Netflix like two months ago to this.
- 9:23Speaker 3: So it just so happens that these two have a
- 9:28Speaker 3: rivalry already.
- 9:30Speaker 4: He doesn't like Demi from the reputation that she has
- 9:34Speaker 4: with his other friends who are also girls on Sacred Lives.
- 9:37Speaker 3: And she... Doesn't like him, I guess, for the same reason.
- 9:42Speaker 3: And sorry, it's Demi, like Demi Moore, not Demi.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Are we tired of Harry Jousey yet?
- 9:49Speaker 4: Yeah, because like, this is maybe controversial. He's charming, but
- 9:55Speaker 4: is he that charming? He's funny, but is he that funny?
- 9:59Speaker 4: He's good looking. but is he that good looking?
- 10:02Speaker 2: I think our producer, Heather, would disagree. She loves a
- 10:05Speaker 2: Harry Jousey moment.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Oh, she thinks he's real cute.
- 10:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I mean, Johnny Bananas did it, right? He made a
- 10:12Speaker 2: career from going from show to show. It's a hard life.
- 10:15Speaker 2: You're everywhere in the world. You're doing all these different things.
- 10:18Speaker 2: It's hard to start a family during that. So there's
- 10:21Speaker 2: only a short period of time that you can actually
- 10:22Speaker 2: make it happen. Good on him. He's made it happen.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I mean, he's been on every show that's kind of
- 10:29Speaker 2: possible for him to be on at this point.
- 10:32Speaker 4: I said what I said, but I also am not
- 10:35Speaker 4: technically tired of him.
- 10:36Speaker 3: It's fine. He's good on these shows.
- 10:38Speaker 4: He's a shitster.
- 10:39Speaker 3: He's good on them. And I applaud the work ethic.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Like, holy moly, if you went back in time to
- 10:47Speaker 4: Too Hot to Handle, like the first show we all
- 10:49Speaker 4: watched during COVID, which was absolutely.
- 10:52Speaker 3: You know, disgusting, but we couldn't take our eyes off
- 10:54Speaker 3: of it. And that's where he's known from.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Who would have ever thought that the guy six years
- 11:00Speaker 4: later would still be so relevant. And like, I can
- 11:02Speaker 4: say the same thing for me. Like I'm not calling
- 11:05Speaker 4: myself relevant right now, but I am saying that like,
- 11:08Speaker 4: I'm sure there's other people being like, Ashley really sucks
- 11:11Speaker 4: at being a reality star, but somehow she's still there.
- 11:14Speaker 2: No, I don't think anybody's.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Everybody likes watching you, Ashley. Um, No, he's, I mean,
- 11:19Speaker 2: it just goes to my point. And I'm wondering if
- 11:21Speaker 2: he was on here with us, if he would say
- 11:23Speaker 2: the same thing. Like, goodness, like, when is this going
- 11:25Speaker 2: to stop? Because the hustle, the hustle, whoever is booking
- 11:29Speaker 2: him is doing a great job there in front of
- 11:32Speaker 2: everything and on the cutting edge of everything. However, as
- 11:35Speaker 2: you said, there isn't like massive names coming off of this.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I mean, goodness, Shane. And I don't know Shane, but
- 11:41Speaker 2: Shane was never on TV until now. But he somehow
- 11:44Speaker 2: found his way onto this show. So I think this
- 11:47Speaker 2: was a move. Where The Bachelor is waiting to see
- 11:51Speaker 2: the response from the public, similar family, right? It's on Hulu,
- 11:56Speaker 2: to see if he could be the next lead of
- 11:58Speaker 2: the show. I'm assuming that was why he was chosen
- 12:01Speaker 2: over everybody else that was on that season. Yeah. To
- 12:05Speaker 2: see if, hey, people jump off the screen and go,
- 12:07Speaker 2: that's our guy.
- 12:08Speaker 3: And he's 50% Italian. Yeah, he's 50% Italian. He's very attractive. Okay,
- 12:13Speaker 3: so we.
- 12:16Speaker 4: First half, the first competition is basically like we have
- 12:20Speaker 4: to blow up this car because the feds are after
- 12:22Speaker 4: you and it's full of family stuff and aren't expensive things.
- 12:27Speaker 4: And if they find it, you know, then you're going
- 12:30Speaker 4: to be screwed. So basically Parker says you need to
- 12:33Speaker 4: blow up these cars, but in order to blow up
- 12:35Speaker 4: the cars, the cars are locked. They have like these
- 12:38Speaker 4: boots on the wheel. You have to open the locks,
- 12:41Speaker 4: find clues, crack the code to a lock box.
- 12:45Speaker 3: There is $ 18, 000 up for grabs. Another question I have
- 12:48Speaker 3: for you is $ 18, 000. It's up for grabs on this one.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Task.
- 12:55Speaker 3: The $ 100, 000.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Prize that they're talking about in the end, is that
- 12:59Speaker 4: on top of all the money that they're getting each task?
- 13:03Speaker 2: That is a part I'm confused by also, but I
- 13:06Speaker 2: don't think so.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yeah, so you're saying that in the gameplay of the.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Whole season, there'll be $ 100, 000 up for grabs.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Yes.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Yeah, okay.
- 13:13Speaker 2: So this one has $ 18, 000, and it's split.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Up into two teams, and Are these two teams? Like
- 13:24Speaker 3: I watched episode two, but I am now thinking. Okay.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:30Speaker 3: These two teams, are they sticking together the entire time?
- 13:34Speaker 3: Or is this just for one task?
- 13:36Speaker 2: One task.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Thank you for making these clarifications for my dumb ass.
- 13:42Speaker 4: So team one right now is Demi, Bruno, Romeo. That
- 13:46Speaker 4: is like little Romeo.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Master P, that's his son. Then we have Harry and Maria.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Harry quickly decides to be the captain of this team.
- 13:56Speaker 4: I don't even know, like, I'm just like, of course
- 13:58Speaker 4: he is.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Like, right?
- 13:59Speaker 3: Of course he is. And then team two is Anita.
- 14:03Speaker 3: She's from Selling Sunset. Then we have Shane.
- 14:05Speaker 4: And then we have Bella, who's from Love Overboard. Joe
- 14:09Speaker 4: is going to be the team captain. As they're in
- 14:12Speaker 4: the competition, they find that there are two more contestants
- 14:15Speaker 4: on each team, basically.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Willem, and he's from RuPaul's Drag Race. He's very funny.
- 14:20Speaker 3: He keeps the show quite entertaining.
- 14:22Speaker 4: And then we have Debbie Mazur, who we know from
- 14:25Speaker 4: Entourage and from Goodfellas. And they're both trapped inside the
- 14:28Speaker 4: cars on the lot. Harry gets his lockbox open first,
- 14:34Speaker 4: and then there's cash and a ring inside. Joe's team, however,
- 14:39Speaker 4: gets the boot lock open first and.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Wins the challenge overall.
- 14:45Speaker 4: It was embarrassing, but not embarrassing, but it showed generations,
- 14:49Speaker 4: that's for sure, that Joe was able to, like, figure
- 14:52Speaker 4: out an old-school lock that, like, used to be on
- 14:55Speaker 4: our millennial, like, lockers at school.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 14:59Speaker 3: And then Harry had no idea how to dial a lock.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a wild idea, is that somebody wouldn't know
- 15:05Speaker 2: how to dial a lock.
- 15:06Speaker 3: No, but I'm thinking, when was the last time I
- 15:08Speaker 3: did that? And it was like 20 years ago.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all keypad now?
- 15:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:14Speaker 2: The competitions of this will be fun, and they are
- 15:17Speaker 2: fun to watch, and they are gathering as much money
- 15:20Speaker 2: as possible throughout each. And they are showing the work
- 15:24Speaker 2: ethic of each contestant. And kind of what they're into
- 15:27Speaker 2: and what they're not. I do like that the show
- 15:30Speaker 2: pushes each person to contribute in some way because everybody
- 15:34Speaker 2: else is watching. You can't just kind of float around
- 15:36Speaker 2: and get lucky. I think you could argue after episode
- 15:40Speaker 2: two that you would say to me is getting a
- 15:43Speaker 2: little bit lucky because of her relationship with the Don
- 15:46Speaker 2: on why she's still sticking around. But we do see
- 15:50Speaker 2: in episode one post this competition, as we mentioned, Joe
- 15:54Speaker 2: announces the Don. and the removal of Bella happens. I
- 16:00Speaker 2: do like the exits, Ashley. I think it's, I was
- 16:04Speaker 2: on the edge of my seat watching who comes through
- 16:05Speaker 2: the door and who doesn't. So I do enjoy that,
- 16:08Speaker 2: and I do enjoy the aesthetic setup of this. It's
- 16:11Speaker 2: a very beautiful set.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I agree with you there.
- 16:14Speaker 4: I was thinking, if we were to compare this to
- 16:16Speaker 4: Traders in Scotland, which actually, they do a great job.
- 16:19Speaker 4: Scotland's beautiful, and they do a beautiful job showing it,
- 16:23Speaker 4: but I was like, this definitely feels more like home
- 16:26Speaker 4: to me and my ancestors are speaking.
- 16:29Speaker 2: You would feel fine in that house.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I mean, they are shooting this in Italy and I
- 16:35Speaker 2: don't know what set they're on, if that is actually
- 16:37Speaker 2: all being shot at the house or not. But whatever
- 16:41Speaker 2: they did, they put a lot of money into the
- 16:43Speaker 2: look and the feel of this, which begs my question
- 16:45Speaker 2: for the show. You know, the Don, as soon as
- 16:48Speaker 2: Joe got announced as the Don, all of a sudden
- 16:50Speaker 2: he has the Don outfits while he sits behind the desk.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I'm wondering if, and I'm excited, if he ever is
- 16:57Speaker 2: removed as Zidane, whoever sits in that chair next, if
- 17:00Speaker 2: they'll all of a sudden have these crazy boss-like outfits
- 17:04Speaker 2: where the show's almost giving them wardrobe to look as
- 17:11Speaker 2: bad as possible.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Okay, so it looks like Demi came ready for that
- 17:16Speaker 4: attire with her leopard outfit. Yeah. I feel like, and
- 17:19Speaker 4: like her... shoulder pad blazers. She is ready to become
- 17:24Speaker 4: the next Don.
- 17:25Speaker 3: I feel like.
- 17:27Speaker 4: So when they get back to the house, they realize
- 17:28Speaker 4: that they still have like some money to be found.
- 17:31Speaker 4: And Joe has a decision to make. He is going
- 17:33Speaker 4: to have to like take some of the money for himself,
- 17:36Speaker 4: or he's going to choose to whack some or tonight.
- 17:38Speaker 4: He has to, as the Don whack someone.
- 17:41Speaker 2: By the way, brutal scene. When they whack some, as
- 17:45Speaker 2: I mentioned earlier, Bella gets whacked first and they like
- 17:49Speaker 2: walk her back to a meat locker and they like
- 17:52Speaker 2: do a close up of raw meat. That was wild.
- 17:55Speaker 3: That was super weird. Like that was, that was eerie.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:00Speaker 4: Like pretending as if they're like actually going to go
- 18:02Speaker 4: back there and murder her.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Yeah. It's like very, it's very aggressive.
- 18:06Speaker 3: In like the deli unit. It's like her Rockies, you know,
- 18:09Speaker 3: punching bags.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Okay. So basically what's going on at the villa throughout
- 18:15Speaker 4: this is that Harry is talking smack about Demi and
- 18:20Speaker 4: vice versa. And the big moment is when Joe takes
- 18:25Speaker 4: Demi aside and he's just kind.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Of like, you are my person. I can tell.
- 18:30Speaker 4: You are going to be my second hand. I feel
- 18:33Speaker 4: like you're loyal and I can trust you and you're
- 18:35Speaker 4: a good worker. And it seems like Harry basically will
- 18:39Speaker 4: do anything to get rid of Demi.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Yeah, there's more behind the scenes there than what this
- 18:46Speaker 2: show is showing. You know, Harry, obviously, and Demi are
- 18:50Speaker 2: not fans of each other. I think it's more Harry
- 18:55Speaker 2: towards Demi at this point than it is Demi towards Harry.
- 18:59Speaker 2: But they would love to see each other like one
- 19:02Speaker 2: of the other go. So whose gameplay so far, Ashley,
- 19:08Speaker 2: do you think is setting them up for the most success?
- 19:10Speaker 2: Is it Harry or is it Demi?
- 19:12Speaker 3: I think it's to me.
- 19:13Speaker 2: I agree. I think she has a chance to be
- 19:16Speaker 2: the next Don. And I think Harry would find himself
- 19:20Speaker 2: on the whacking block.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 19:22Speaker 2: As soon as that happens. Like, I think he's gone.
- 19:24Speaker 2: And I think that is something he should be very
- 19:26Speaker 2: concerned about.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Now, the problem is, and we see this going into
- 19:41Speaker 4: episode two, that her relationship to the Don is so
- 19:47Speaker 4: close that it's kind of turning other people off like
- 19:50Speaker 4: Maria and like Shane they're all kind of like huh
- 19:59Speaker 4: why is he so obsessed why is he giving her
- 20:01Speaker 4: money why is he so obsessed with her and that
- 20:05Speaker 4: is going to be when I start thinking that they're
- 20:11Speaker 4: going to stop voting for him, and they're going to
- 20:14Speaker 4: try to elect Harry as.
- 20:16Speaker 3: The next Don.
- 20:17Speaker 4: So she might be in a good spot to be
- 20:19Speaker 4: friendly with him, but she might also be in a
- 20:23Speaker 4: spot for— she might be creating the spot for Harry
- 20:26Speaker 4: to take over as Don if she continues her close relationship.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Yeah. I will say it's a part of the show.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I don't want to overplay. When we're talking about episode two,
- 20:36Speaker 2: the Demi-Harry— issues feels a little bit overblown. Like it's
- 20:41Speaker 2: taking up a lot of space on the show. And
- 20:43Speaker 2: I don't love shows that kind of like exhaust one storyline,
- 20:47Speaker 2: but it does feel like with this cast, that is
- 20:50Speaker 2: the storyline that has to be used right now. But
- 20:56Speaker 2: it will get tiring after a while. It's like, okay,
- 20:58Speaker 2: we get it. You don't like each other. Both of
- 20:59Speaker 2: you want each other to go home. So far you're
- 21:02Speaker 2: both here, but every week we can't just see you
- 21:04Speaker 2: two like trying to backstab each other. Cause that's not
- 21:06Speaker 2: what a family's about. That's right. Yeah.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Well, that's also because that's like the drama they have
- 21:13Speaker 4: going into it. They need to, as a show, wait
- 21:17Speaker 4: for natural show drama to unfold.
- 21:20Speaker 3: And that'll happen more as the show goes on.
- 21:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I mean, right now, how I look at this show
- 21:26Speaker 2: is aesthetically wonderful to watch. Compelling with the exits. However,
- 21:33Speaker 2: the drama becomes with one person, the Dons. That's the
- 21:37Speaker 2: only person that can cause really drama at this point
- 21:39Speaker 2: unless there's contentious arguments in the house. The Don is
- 21:43Speaker 2: the one that is getting rid of people and also
- 21:46Speaker 2: keeping people. He is the one or she will maybe
- 21:50Speaker 2: be the one who's giving the money or keeping the money.
- 21:53Speaker 2: It feels like it's such a singular focus for this
- 21:56Speaker 2: show right now that I would love to see some
- 21:59Speaker 2: of the other storylines play out amongst each other. I
- 22:03Speaker 2: enjoyed the moments where they're sitting, drinking wine, talking and
- 22:06Speaker 2: laughing and talking through the gameplay. I want to see
- 22:09Speaker 2: more of that. In episode two, they do do a
- 22:12Speaker 2: wine competition. Similar idea is you're going to make a
- 22:16Speaker 2: lot of money if you produce a lot of wine.
- 22:20Speaker 2: The Don sits out of this. He gets to kind
- 22:22Speaker 2: of hang out and watch. And we see in episode
- 22:26Speaker 2: two that some people give it their all and some
- 22:30Speaker 2: people don't. The me is kind of She's critiqued because
- 22:34Speaker 2: she leaves this competition with a full head of makeup,
- 22:36Speaker 2: and everybody else is grinding.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Her hair's perfect.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Yeah, her hair's still perfect. She's still doing her thing.
- 22:42Speaker 2: We don't see the elimination in episode two, but it
- 22:45Speaker 2: is down to Ada and Bruno. I would hate to
- 22:49Speaker 2: see Bruno go. He's a good character on this show.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I've enjoyed watching him, and I think he is bipartisan.
- 22:57Speaker 2: He is close with the Don, but not overblown, and
- 23:01Speaker 2: he is... kind of attaching his stakes to Demi.
- 23:05Speaker 4: This is what the Don is thinking. Oh, Bruno is
- 23:08Speaker 4: really close to Demi. And I could see them creating
- 23:12Speaker 4: like some sort of power couple. So we want to
- 23:14Speaker 4: eliminate that. And then he also is considering getting rid
- 23:19Speaker 4: of Anita because she is.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Just not a good worker. He's like, she just doesn't grind.
- 23:27Speaker 2: She doesn't produce the cash.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Yeah. I think he's going to get rid of Anita.
- 23:33Speaker 3: That's my guess, because I think he's going to try to.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Stay true to eliminate the weakest link formula.
- 23:41Speaker 2: We see Bachelor Nation come out during this. Shane takes
- 23:45Speaker 2: a pretty big role during this episode. We find out
- 23:47Speaker 2: he just finished law school. Maria is obviously still doing
- 23:53Speaker 2: the Maria thing. She's a big character. She's polarizing. She
- 23:57Speaker 2: is an enjoyable watch. So Bachelor Nation is still existing
- 24:02Speaker 2: and surviving so far through two episodes. And we want
- 24:07Speaker 2: to continue and follow along as the season goes. Ashley,
- 24:13Speaker 2: if they call you tomorrow and say, we want you
- 24:15Speaker 2: on the mob for next season, do you say yes
- 24:17Speaker 2: or no?
- 24:18Speaker 3: I always say yes to everything.
- 24:19Speaker 4: I'm a little concerned about filming overseas, but I do
- 24:22Speaker 4: think that they're doing eliminations almost every night. So I
- 24:26Speaker 4: think it would only be like a 10-day shoot, which
- 24:28Speaker 4: I can handle. All these decisions usually come down to
- 24:31Speaker 4: how long I have to be away from the kids.
- 24:33Speaker 3: And how much money is there?
- 24:35Speaker 2: That's good. I like where your mind's at.
- 24:39Speaker 4: So then, yeah, my other thought about this is that
- 24:44Speaker 4: I think the two quietest people there are Maria and Shane.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Don't you think? I don't think that they've played much
- 24:54Speaker 3: of a role yet.
- 24:55Speaker 2: No, I mean, I wouldn't be shocked if Maria steps
- 24:58Speaker 2: into the Don seat. We do see some of that
- 25:00Speaker 2: playing out.
- 25:02Speaker 4: I could see her personality on Joey's season. Yeah, definitely
- 25:07Speaker 4: filling that role. I could also see her in the clothes.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:13Speaker 3: We'll see.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Awesome suits. Yeah. It's fun that these new shows exist, though,
- 25:20Speaker 2: and it's fun to follow along as they go. So
- 25:22Speaker 2: if you need listeners... something different um you should go
- 25:29Speaker 2: in and watch episode one episode two leaves us on
- 25:31Speaker 2: a cliffhanger ashley mentions who she thinks goes home i'm
- 25:36Speaker 2: still up in the air on it but it does
- 25:37Speaker 2: leave us with a little.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Cliffhanger come on now just give your wager.
- 25:41Speaker 2: I mean i think i think it's bruno i think
- 25:43Speaker 2: it's all set.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Yeah okay i actually yeah during that scene that final
- 25:49Speaker 4: scene i was like oh so it's bruno So maybe
- 25:52Speaker 4: you're right.
- 25:52Speaker 3: That's my gut reaction.
- 25:53Speaker 4: I just think that if he wanted to stay loyal
- 25:55Speaker 4: to his initial thinking, let's just get rid of the
- 25:57Speaker 4: weakest link.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I would not be shocked if Bruno goes home,
- 26:01Speaker 2: which would be a big loss for the show. As
- 26:03Speaker 2: you mentioned, he is one of the bigger names on
- 26:06Speaker 2: this season. We'll be following along with other shows that
- 26:11Speaker 2: Bachelor Nation is competing on. Dancing with the Stars is
- 26:15Speaker 2: out there. We have breakdowns of that every week. We
- 26:19Speaker 2: are breaking down Bob Guinea season currently. And again, stay
- 26:23Speaker 2: tuned because in just a few short weeks, we'll be
- 26:25Speaker 2: on the Bachelor Nation cruise interviewing tons of people who
- 26:29Speaker 2: have been a part of this franchise. But until then,
- 26:32Speaker 2: I've been Ben.
- 26:33Speaker 3: I've been Ashley.
- 26:34Speaker 2: We'll talk to you soon.
- 26:35Speaker 3: I love you.
