- 0:004/16 4:17 and the idea really 417 right now is that it is
- 0:06telling us maybe the most important thing when it comes to
- 0:10Hassid is someone we discussed the length someone is very
- 0:14dedicated to a certain area. People can be very dedicated to
- 0:17loving another Jew doing, if I said very loving Hashem growing
- 0:23as a person in different areas. Now he tells you the hardest
- 0:26thing is balanced. We discussed yesterday in an
- 0:28example and what does balance mean?
- 0:31Other thing is to know when you're making a decision, you're
- 0:34a good guy trying to do good things.
- 0:36When you're making a decision, coming from a good place, when
- 0:39it's possibly current from even a bad place.
- 0:41He says the insider has the ability to make something good
- 0:45look bad and something not good. Look at you the opposite.
- 0:49I mean, there's so many examples you can think of.
- 0:52It's simple ones always come to my mind is always debate when
- 0:54I'm leaving, learning, going home.
- 0:56So is doing is it the right thing to do or is it just I'm in
- 0:59the mood to take a break? So I'm convinced to myself that
- 1:02it's mitzvah to be around. You have all these examples of
- 1:05people have and you can take the own scenarios.
- 1:07You're staying longer at work. You want to you know, you're a
- 1:12little more productive to do more and you're debating is this
- 1:15am I doing the right thing or am I doing something?
- 1:18They just I just not in the mood to go home right now.
- 1:20I don't want to get involved. It's always hard to debate this
- 1:22debate and his balance, and there are 1,000,000 stronger
- 1:25examples. This balance is literally,
- 1:29According to him, one of the hardest things to figure out is
- 1:32when you are doing something with the right motive or the
- 1:35wrong motive. And we all have a blend of
- 1:38combinations and motives involved, and therefore it's
- 1:40very hard to find. All right, let's do it together.
- 1:46Let's start from the word. We'll start from 417 now on
- 1:52second line on top of 417. If you're lacking a certain
- 1:58factor and making a decision, which means you're lacking
- 2:02either trying to do it for Hashem's sake, for the right
- 2:05sake, you're lacking the proper analysis of another factor,
- 2:09analysis into two sides of a decision, or you're lacking
- 2:13belief in Hashem our decisions. When I reach their proper place,
- 2:20the Carovo Lucas shelled Villipo and a person can easily make a
- 2:24mistake. I know OEM if your intentions
- 2:31are not pure or or in a compensated decision, you didn't
- 2:38analyze the two sides properly or in my hard coset after you
- 2:44did those 2 steps, you did not have probably the horn of shem
- 2:49Cashelo shulo. It's difficult not to make a
- 2:52mistake. Ah in shorts taught me.
- 2:55However, when it comes to a proper decision, if you follow
- 2:58these three steps properly, Timmy Muta Marciva trying to
- 3:02have their own attention. Yuned trying to analyze the two
- 3:05sides of a decision before you make it.
- 3:07Obita horn trying to rely on a shem as you like.
- 3:12Betaf bemet below your nail. Cora you can trust are you going
- 3:16to go down the right path in life and you will not make
- 3:19mistakes. Who are devours Shamrakhanab in
- 3:21the water as Karna says Ragler hasidavi Shimura Hashem protects
- 3:27the feet of those who follow him with abrika mokarammar veloi
- 3:32azov ET has double lamishmar. What's happening over here?
- 3:36What's happening over here, he's telling you is that it's very
- 3:39difficult in life to know when you're doing the right thing or
- 3:43the wrong thing. Good people making good
- 3:44decisions still do not know if it's in the right thing or the
- 3:47wrong thing. 1,000,000 1/2 examples you can come up with.
- 3:51You don't know if you should have given that charity.
- 3:53You don't know if you should have built that home.
- 3:55You don't know if you should take that job.
- 3:57You don't know if you should get involved in that.
- 4:00Like I said, get involved in that fight to try to make peace.
- 4:03You don't know if you should make that comment to push
- 4:06someone along. You don't know anything.
- 4:09And all these scenarios. We feel like we're trying to do
- 4:11these things from the right place.
- 4:13How do you know to make a move right?
- 4:15I gave you my example multiple times.
- 4:17Got it. Bye, bye.
- 4:19It just, it feels to me that you just have to think before you
- 4:22do. You have to get allies a little
- 4:23bit. You can't just make impulsive
- 4:25decisions. This used to be the number one.
- 4:27He throws that in as one of the three components.
- 4:30Other two are Shem related. When it comes to your mind,
- 4:33that's the number one. The first and the third are the
- 4:361st and it is do it for the sake of our Shem.
- 4:39And the third is try to do it for the sake of our Shem is the
- 4:42first one. We say it's very hard to know.
- 4:44So it's really hard to use that as your one.
- 4:47And the third one is trust in Hashem.
- 4:49Trust in Hashem means that after you do start with sake of
- 4:54Hashem, some degree of that, then you analyze each other's
- 4:58and then you say God, I'm doing this, I hope you help me.
- 5:01Now the problem, right, the problem with the 1st and the 3rd
- 5:07and the 1st for sure, and we said yes today is you never know
- 5:11if you're really having proper trust in Hashem.
- 5:13You just don't know are you talk.
- 5:15We're doing it for the sake of Hashem.
- 5:16Excuse me to know for. Reward you're doing.
- 5:19No, it's just about it's safe. You want to do a good thing,
- 5:22it's just the right thing. Yeah, the issue is, and we said
- 5:26part of the problem with the headset is that he makes things
- 5:29that are not could look up to the right thing.
- 5:31That example of a person wanting to know.
- 5:34I'll give you a class example, Guys sitting in class.
- 5:38He knows his wife needs him home right now.
- 5:41You say the right do is to go home to help your wife right
- 5:44now. That's true, correct?
- 5:47But at the same time, what if just played out?
- 5:50What are the guys in the middle of watching the third quarter of
- 5:54the football of the Super Bowl of the NFC Championship game,
- 5:57right? He knows the right thing to do
- 5:59to go on for his wife, but he also knows that he wouldn't
- 6:01thank you. He knows he wouldn't go on for
- 6:05the wife. So now he has solved the
- 6:07question. Shame him in the other morning.
- 6:10So he has solved the question should he have?
- 6:15Now if he was not willing, you would not be leaving the third
- 6:18quarter of that as he changed the game for the sake of his
- 6:22wife and now put the back on the table.
- 6:25The learning scenario. Should you leave his class for
- 6:28the sake of his wife? Answer is still yes.
- 6:30Yeah, but huh. But he knows that life.
- 6:34Is just always needy, but if it's like.
- 6:37It's always exactly, it's all the round.
- 6:40So the point is the point is nature.
- 6:44The point is, is that this adds to the balance.
- 6:47And now they say, I see the decision making.
- 6:49So now you say, so I know the right thing to do is to go home
- 6:52to, to help her. But I also know that I wouldn't
- 6:55do so if it was some other debate which adds to the balance
- 7:00that a person has to apply and I have to add to the mix.
- 7:03Does it make things more complicated?
- 7:05For sure it does, right? These are the scenarios that we
- 7:09do all the time. Now you need to add yourself.
- 7:11Go back to that first case. Why am I?
- 7:13I had this conversation in my mind yesterday.
- 7:16The schools are closed. Fine.
- 7:19Now let's say let's just say argument's sake, the learning
- 7:21place, the collals are closed. Schools also learning.
- 7:24Let's say collals are closed. They were they just argument.
- 7:27They were. Did you everyone go to the
- 7:29office yesterday? Did people go to the office
- 7:30yesterday? Did you go?
- 7:31Did you go No good. Today we're going to the office.
- 7:38That's the planet and army still holding me out.
- 7:41No, after we're working home, what's the water work?
- 7:44Save me. OK, this is the work.
- 7:46More working. OK, Right.
- 7:48So right. If you all do work, I'm fine.
- 7:49So this is just, it's not the deal.
- 7:53Call everyone on Tuesday. Yeah.
- 7:57But the idea is it's very possible that people would have
- 8:00been more motivated that's going the pre COVID head.
- 8:03People would have figured a way to get the car to go to work,
- 8:05especially if they own the company and they had to get
- 8:07there more than the very possible.
- 8:09There would be certain people to go learn.
- 8:12So what is that? It's not that they don't want to
- 8:14learn. It's in your mind.
- 8:16When it comes to that debate, you have an easier, you know,
- 8:19decision than you do when it comes to calling and motivating
- 8:23yourself to the office. And maybe a good example may not
- 8:25be an example, but the idea is it's very hard to know what's
- 8:29pulling. And that's why even though
- 8:32analyzing the two sides, which is the middle point is the most
- 8:36important point, eventually you have to say I'm trying Emma
- 8:40throw up to Ashim. I can't get it fully right
- 8:42because I don't know where. And This is why I said before,
- 8:47having this balance, one of the most difficult things to have
- 8:49there have been, well, he's going to give you examples.
- 8:51There have been so many people who have said to themselves, I'm
- 8:55going to get involved in, you know, like I said the other day,
- 8:58get involved in that fight. I feel like I have a an ability
- 9:01to make peace. Why are you getting involved?
- 9:03You want to make peace. Is that really why you want to
- 9:06get involved? Or maybe it's because one side's
- 9:08getting nervous. I know from people on the
- 9:11inside, there have been so many, sadly, even divorces that have
- 9:15been somewhat created. And you could say literally
- 9:20divorces or you could say certain fights that have been
- 9:22expanded by the do gooders. The worst people in the world in
- 9:26in these situations are very often the do gooders.
- 9:29Why? Because they see a situation,
- 9:32it's not proper in their lives. They want to change it.
- 9:35So they get involved and they they make things worse and he
- 9:39has himself. How can the guy who wants to do
- 9:41good and make these worse possibly.
- 9:43And because he got involved for the wrong reason, he didn't
- 9:46really know all the factors in front of him, has no both
- 9:49parties. He doesn't know his capabilities
- 9:51or his limitations. And he make sure to say that is
- 9:54because he did not weigh properly all the two sides
- 9:59before he made him move. That's number two.
- 10:01That's number two. And that's the most important
- 10:02one. Now, that doesn't mean don't get
- 10:05a vump. It doesn't even don't have to
- 10:07make a decision, doesn't mean freeze.
- 10:09But it does mean you have to mix and blend Part 1 with Part 2,
- 10:14which is you have to blend the fact that you're trying to do
- 10:16something for the right reason. And then you have to go back and
- 10:19forth analyzing the two sides over and over again until you
- 10:23come up with a healthy decision. Eventually you make a decision.
- 10:27That's it. But you need to be a healthy
- 10:29decision and a healthy decision being honest with yourself.
- 10:33Analyze two sides. Let's see, look how we analyze.
- 10:43We have to realize huque en la dune de Vera hasidut Amar en
- 10:50edition. When it comes to making a
- 10:53decision, trying to be a good guy, trying to do something as a
- 10:56Hasid, don't go with your initial knee jerk reaction.
- 11:05Try to play out in your mind how far the situation's going to go.
- 11:10You're about to make a phone call to attempt peace.
- 11:15You really want to make that phone call all right here a
- 11:17situation is not proper. You want to make peace.
- 11:20You want to call up one side. Let's play it out.
- 11:22If you call up that one side, are you just going to fan the
- 11:25fuels, fan the flames, All right, make things worse.
- 11:29Although you feel like you just want to, you know, get involved
- 11:33with terrible what's happening? Are you actually make things
- 11:35worse or do you see a method? Do you see an arrow right ending
- 11:41the situation? Answer some of the question
- 11:48before you make that phone call. That's the question.
- 11:54The phone call might seem good because the outcome is bad.
- 12:01You need to leave it. Don't get involved.
- 12:05I'm going to give you even a clear good example.
- 12:08A guy wants to develop an institution.
- 12:11What's what's wrong? What's worse with that beautiful
- 12:13thing? Create a new Torah institution,
- 12:15create a new Hessen organization.
- 12:17Beautiful. And he asks himself, what should
- 12:19I do? Is should I not?
- 12:20There are people who need help. I chose you.
- 12:22I need to learn. Of course I should play it out.
- 12:26What about the, you know, the what's called effects?
- 12:31I'm going to happen from this, maybe the other place is going
- 12:34to close, maybe the other person going to be hurt, maybe
- 12:39whatever. Maybe maybe there's someone
- 12:41who's trying to do exactly what you're doing and and now they're
- 12:45going to be stopped. Now do you say to yourself, I
- 12:47don't do anything in life? No, and I'm not trying to at
- 12:50all. The whole dead back on people
- 12:53who are very aggressive. It's a beautiful thing to be
- 12:55aggressive, but you have to be honest with yourself and say, am
- 12:58I making the right decision? Now we have in history a million
- 13:02and a half examples of both ways, 1,000,000 examples of
- 13:04people have made moves and these are good people making good
- 13:07decisions that have been aggressive and they have
- 13:11inadvertently shut people down and they did the right thing.
- 13:14Even so, they did the right thing.
- 13:16I don't know what to judge at all.
- 13:17And then there have been people who have held back a million and
- 13:21a half examples. I know many examples of people
- 13:23who have held back and they never opened their institution.
- 13:26It never happened and then they even never became even favors.
- 13:30It's the reality. It's not like you have a happily
- 13:31ever read a story where they got a job or somewhere else and it
- 13:34became a big deal. The name never became famous.
- 13:36Their promises should never happen and somehow they went,
- 13:41you know, they went to 120 and they felt they made the right
- 13:43decision because they didn't hurt other people.
- 13:46Now you have to ask the question when to do which often time this
- 13:50way advice comes in is we ask real people, right and there's a
- 13:54major detail you have to ask other people.
- 13:56It's a major fact, but it is a real, real example and I'm not
- 14:01going anywhere with this example, especially because
- 14:03we're getting courted and it's a real example.
- 14:05I feel like it's all good about eyeing it, like in a sense,
- 14:07sometimes you got to be like a pinhas just got to go ahead and
- 14:10do it, no? What about all the?
- 14:14Even your own business, there's so many times you could say I
- 14:16have competition, I have this, this guy, this guy has this and
- 14:20he starts. You start losing your confidence
- 14:23when you start looking. Sometimes you just have to just
- 14:25do it. I feel I will vehemently feel
- 14:29based on these books and all the the with the scenarios I've
- 14:33witnessed, I can't say experience with young for
- 14:34experience. All the scenarios I've witnessed
- 14:37vehemently feel that there are a very, very fine line and you
- 14:42have to go like this. You have to weave between Ryan
- 14:45and Rome and no simple answer. And I don't even think a simple
- 14:48piece of advice and somebody else can actually help you.
- 14:51You need to have be very honest with yourself.
- 14:53Why am I doing this? Why am I doing this?
- 14:55Do I like what I'm doing? Am I doing it for the right
- 14:57reason? Is it proper what I'm doing over
- 15:00and over and over again? Over analysts is also a negative
- 15:03yes so I'm. Saying, but I'd be very healthy
- 15:05in this area. Trust me.
- 15:06The amount of destruction that has been done by people who
- 15:09thought they were doing good things is probably more probably
- 15:14more destructive. The amount of destruction has
- 15:16been done by people who are doing bad things.
- 15:18Why? Because bad things.
- 15:20Everyone knows you stop it. A good thing people say.
- 15:23A beautiful thing. My blue.
- 15:24Can every dangerous. Lie right, like yeah, you have
- 15:26to be careful. It is this is like.
- 15:27You know, it's the opposite because if you don't, because
- 15:30this sounds like you really stopping from people from
- 15:34potentially doing good. And if that's like everything
- 15:37else it gets, that's catchy, of course, which means that no
- 15:41one's going to start, no one's going to do good anymore.
- 15:44You have the way this is the back and forth.
- 15:45You have the way back in the odds.
- 15:48It's it's very difficult. It is difficult this I've had
- 15:51this you have a businessman you understand somebody right take
- 15:54those jail be good data. No, because if you get about
- 15:56business, I'm talking about like a hair Saber organization.
- 15:58You know, there's artists, there's an organization that's
- 16:00not doing justice for the community.
- 16:02They're not doing what they're supposed to do, but they're
- 16:04there and they're serving that they're serving.
- 16:06That means that they're doing it for 30 years.
- 16:07God bless them. Right now, someone else comes
- 16:10along aggressive because he sees that there's a major need for
- 16:13the community. Yeah.
- 16:14Is he not supposed to? No.
- 16:16So you're asking to help? He has time to amount to people,
- 16:19but he might be hurting these two people.
- 16:21Good. That's very good.
- 16:22I. Personally, I think he should
- 16:23hurt these. Two people, well, that's a fair
- 16:24balance, but that's a big debate.
- 16:26Yeah, I very much agree that there's been a million and 1/2
- 16:29times that people have been asked the question and they ask
- 16:32great rabbits. Rabbits say go for it, do it
- 16:34anyway and not surfacing the convenience properly, do it.
- 16:37And they did it. That's the rule.
- 16:39They're very successful. All great.
- 16:40No guilt and in fact more but aha, beautiful thing.
- 16:44But there have been many scenarios where they told not to
- 16:46do and just stop and maybe their service wasn't enough.
- 16:50Again, let's play it out. Are they really adding a new
- 16:53service? Are they making anything more
- 16:55productive? Is there a way around this?
- 16:58All these things are factors and I'm not in the predicament so I
- 17:02can only judge. But you're right in the world of
- 17:04business that David, to example in the world of business,
- 17:07because once once we have open trade and everything else and
- 17:11competition is normal, go for it.
- 17:13Go add it and in fact we'll power to the strength of of a
- 17:17person pushing that's how business works.
- 17:20And if we add a million shoes or a million there's a million that
- 17:23it would be the same way just go for it.
- 17:25But if you can see trying that person down, but that person
- 17:29that's. For this community, we're a
- 17:30business community and that's what the.
- 17:32Imposition are trying. Just go ahead, we're going to do
- 17:34it and then everything works out instead of over analyzing and
- 17:38say oh we have one shoe, we have this or do you need another one?
- 17:40We have that business mind of let's do it.
- 17:43Let's. Go to the think.
- 17:44Let's say all I have to do. Let me give you an example.
- 17:46Of the opposite actor thinking we have to say if you think
- 17:49you're the right decision and like the 1-2 and three you
- 17:51believe it is. That's what I'm saying.
- 17:53Not every decision you're gonna make is gonna be.
- 17:55Let me give you an example the office.
- 17:56Fairly, you're not making all the right decisions.
- 17:58Correct. All right, let me give you
- 17:59examples the other way. This is holding back when OK,
- 18:02guy wants to go. I'll give you a real example.
- 18:05Guy wants to go to a wedding. I've said this example before
- 18:09wedding and he's not used to such a corded dress.
- 18:13He's not at all used to such a world.
- 18:15He's close to the groom. He wants to go and say I'm
- 18:18broke. It's 11:00 and night at that
- 18:21wedding. It's way beyond the time he
- 18:23should be there. Now.
- 18:25He has a balance as a concede. He's not a witness.
- 18:28Such lack of salute in his number of years.
- 18:32It's a real case. What does he do?
- 18:35Go. We don't go.
- 18:36So we would say they'll be so many of us.
- 18:38And if they go, you got to go, you're gonna be gonna missed.
- 18:40I'll tell you personally, at certain times in my life, I
- 18:43didn't go. I went to a wedding.
- 18:45I knew the groom actually left with the groom and I walked in.
- 18:50It was 11:00. It was way beyond my, my I was
- 18:54new to this business that had all used such a world.
- 18:57I walked in. I walked a little prison.
- 18:59I told a friend, I said, they said, and we can't get him out
- 19:02now. So OK, tell him I can't.
- 19:04And I and I left and I actually left and I wasn't sure that
- 19:07drives me wrong. And many times the eyes on the
- 19:09opposite. I've gone in, many, many times
- 19:11I've gone in. And what do you do in that
- 19:13situation? You need to look at the people
- 19:14who came before you. Would they go?
- 19:16Would you not go? And sometimes they would and
- 19:19sometimes they wouldn't. Or how about if a rabbi is
- 19:21invited to a wedding that's some a destination, one that's not
- 19:25his type, Does he go? Does he not go?
- 19:27All right, these are real questions.
- 19:29And these are questions that require a way.
- 19:31And sometimes the answer is go, and sometimes the answer is
- 19:34don't. And that's a balance you have to
- 19:36figure out. And what is that balance based
- 19:38on your own experience without coming to lead to maybe this kid
- 19:43who I didn't go to, maybe it's can negatively affect them and
- 19:46he has rabble a school so it doesn't show up.
- 19:49It's a bad idea not to go, you know.
- 19:51This this scenario is very different from opening up an
- 19:54organization. But it's.
- 19:56Not big, see base I understand, but it's it's it's a very
- 20:00different situation. So 1 is aggressive and one is
- 20:03passive, not going, not being aggressive.
- 20:05Passive 1 is going forward for forward and destroying and
- 20:09building, assuming another one is holding back and creating
- 20:14destruction and building. And they're both the same in a
- 20:16sense, the same question. How do you make a decision when
- 20:19you're doing something that seems to be a beautiful thing
- 20:23but has certain things that are, you know, effects?
- 20:28That's the question. And that you have the way and
- 20:30eventually you make decisions. Sometimes you're right.
- 20:32Sometimes you rule, you go for it.
- 20:34And if you have one in three, which is you're trying to do the
- 20:38right thing. And if you make that decision
- 20:40and it's wrong, it'll be made right.
- 20:43That's how far it goes if a person opens the institution,
- 20:45which is wrong. But he weighed the odds.
- 20:48He went back and forth and he said, there's no way I can let
- 20:51these kids and these families just crumble anymore.
- 20:53Just not proper. I can't leave this and the rabbi
- 20:56has told me to do it, so I'm going to do it.
- 20:59I'm going to close my nose. I'm going to do it, and I feel
- 21:01terrible about certain factors. I'm going to do it anyway.
- 21:04He does that. He'll succeed if he goes through
- 21:07that process and he's honest with himself and he fits that
- 21:10mold and his life is consistent with that for all those things,
- 21:13he will succeed according to his mindset.
- 21:16And the opposite, if he says to himself, there's no way I can
- 21:18close those people out, there's so many people involved, how can
- 21:21I hurt their jogs, yada yada. And he holds back, I'll succeed.
- 21:252 It requires a great amount of balance.
- 21:29The reason I'm pushing this point, Morris, is because it's
- 21:33real. This is where real people are
- 21:35made. It's not as simple as we think,
- 21:38which is go for it or hold back. Because you know what?
- 21:42A lot of people use this MSCAL. They try to use this weight as
- 21:45excuses as to why they don't do anything.
- 21:48It's true too. A lot of people about to take a
- 21:50job. I know some people that should
- 21:52get a job and they're unemployed, they don't take that
- 21:55job because of such a balance like this, but they're not being
- 21:58balanced. They're being sketch.
- 21:59What are they doing? They're trying to make their
- 22:02own. They're they're lazy and they're
- 22:04enjoying the fact that they're collecting unemployment and they
- 22:05don't really want to get that kind of job, etcetera, etcetera.
- 22:08So they try to weigh this balance and they say it's not
- 22:10right for me, like for my family, too many hours.
- 22:12My wife uses something else. Trust me, your wife wants you to
- 22:15work, right? So that's someone who's catching
- 22:18himself on the balance. So really to you, in order to
- 22:21create this balance, you often times have to bounce off other
- 22:25people who are not yes men. Bounce over the people who are
- 22:29people who have told you no before.
- 22:32You guess it's your person, the greatest gift that God can give
- 22:35you, one of the greatest gifts. It's a person like that.
- 22:38Often times your wife. I've said it personally, my wife
- 22:42got me out of a couple of situations which were would have
- 22:47gone down the wrong word road and it's only because she didn't
- 22:50believe in them at all, right? And I was gung ho going full
- 22:53force and I thought I did my Michelle and I weighed my I.
- 22:55Always dressed the wife. And she looked at me and she
- 22:57said, yeah, I know what you're doing.
- 22:58Why do you care about this stuff?
- 23:00Is it true? Because he's on tape.
- 23:04He just did, you know, a couple weeks on vacation was in a good
- 23:07spot, but the age I love anymore, I was.
- 23:10Looking like, let's say let's someone want to do a charter
- 23:12school in this community and his, yeah, great, thousands of
- 23:14kids will go into public schools and things like that.
- 23:17And he had a positive reason for it.
- 23:19But the rabbits don't want you also losing yeshiva outlook.
- 23:22So it's like. You're a great example.
- 23:23I I wasn't around. I mean, I wasn't involved and I
- 23:26don't know the facts because at all.
- 23:27Well, I don't have to make a decision on that.
- 23:29That's a good example. On the one hand, you're thinking
- 23:32he's out of public school. On the other hand, with tuition
- 23:35being $30,000, very possibly many saw people would say,
- 23:40listen, I'm gonna yeah, I'll walk that tie rope.
- 23:43I'll put my kids in such a school.
- 23:44It's all community anyhow. I'll figure out the learning,
- 23:48maybe I can even get some tada into that school.
- 23:51And here you have it. Perfect world, right?
- 23:53And then the destruction is we know the destruction and the
- 23:58building. If you're saving these kids out
- 24:00of public school and you're saving families from going under
- 24:04because of tuition, great question that requires great
- 24:08soldiers, great people to answer that question.
- 24:10And that's a real example. These are many, many examples
- 24:13like this. And I think my favorite examples
- 24:15are building institutions and getting involved in fights
- 24:18because both those examples, I have people who are do gooders,
- 24:23and some of those do gooders cause massive havoc.
- 24:28And some of those do gooders create worlds.
- 24:30You need to know which one you are and you need to know what's
- 24:33going to you involve. If you can figure out the first
- 24:36part of the three steps and you're in a good spot, which
- 24:38means if you can be honest with yourself whether you're being
- 24:40the SHMA for sham's sake, you're a good spot.
- 24:43The problem is, as you said, the other days, it's very, very
- 24:46difficult to know what's LISMA really difficult.
- 24:50And I gave you my example with Israel trip and give you a
- 24:52million examples. How do you know what's LISMA?
- 24:55Is it really a follow up? Well, if you open up an
- 24:59organization, institution and nobody knows your name, yeah,
- 25:03Transdolla Lisma. But if you open up an
- 25:05organization and the name basically might as well be
- 25:07called my name, then it's not as Lobdafka, not guaranteed.
- 25:11There's a smile. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't
- 25:13right. If you're getting involved in a
- 25:15fight and you're going to be the hero, well, that's your goal.
- 25:18That's you much you expect. That's knowledge, Ma.
- 25:21But, and this is something I try to do, try to apply, it's hard
- 25:23to do. And that is whenever you get
- 25:25involved in something, if you can hold it that you have, no,
- 25:31you don't get much credit for a little while.
- 25:33Difficult to do and it's difficult to stomach because
- 25:36often times you get involved in something and you don't get
- 25:39credit and eventually it frustrates you.
- 25:40And when I get the credit, I did all that work, right?
- 25:44But if you do an act and you don't get credit for a little
- 25:47while, then you can feel that you're being real.
- 25:50Why? Because it's not about the
- 25:51credit. It's not about what I get back.
- 25:54These are the idea. These are the concepts.
- 25:56A person's got to weigh this over and over and over again.
- 25:59I do not think it applies as much to business as it does to
- 26:04doing clear good toda. Things like fesse, expanding
- 26:10toda, building mitzvot help other people.
- 26:13All the good things in life require a real balance.
- 26:18Real people know this. His book he, he emphasized this
- 26:22over and over again. Real people know this and choose
- 26:25this. I believe it's somewhat of a
- 26:27simple mind to believe that it's all good out there or it's all
- 26:31bad. You need to weigh doubts.
- 26:33And I've seen many good people who have done the wrong thing
- 26:35and many good people who have Outback have to figure out what
- 26:39is the right thing, what's wrong with them.
- 26:40You get involved in these things, don't hold yourself
- 26:42back. Just weigh it back and forth.
- 26:45That's the point. It's not what?
