- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to be our Handoff presented by Verizon. I'm Dan Heley.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I'm your host, and week to week we have a
- 0:05Speaker 1: host passing it off. This time is my turn to
- 0:07Speaker 1: go ahead and break down some film talk, stats, talk personnel.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Let's get into it. Each week, a player asks the
- 0:14Speaker 1: next host a question. This week, Nick Boden had one
- 0:17Speaker 1: for me. Let's see what it was.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Last week, Pastor Tan asked me my question, and now
- 0:21Speaker 2: this week my question goes out to you, would you
- 0:24Speaker 2: rather to have thirty degree weather and sunny our eighty
- 0:27Speaker 2: degree weather and rainy. I know you're a South Cali guy.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I just want to make sure that you got got
- 0:32Speaker 2: your mind in the right spot. Hopefully you picking the
- 0:34Speaker 2: right answer. Well know next.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Week, uh Man. First of all, either one is pretty
- 0:41Speaker 1: tricky to answer, but I'm gonna have to go with
- 0:44Speaker 1: that eighty with the rain right there. I think I'm
- 0:47Speaker 1: gonna stay right in that eighty with the rain, just
- 0:49Speaker 1: due to the fact, like he said, I'm so col
- 0:51Speaker 1: born and raised, and I know how brisk it can
- 0:54Speaker 1: get in that thirty degree weather. It could be a
- 0:56Speaker 1: wind chill, it could be all type of stuff going on.
- 0:58Speaker 1: So I'm gonna take the rain. You know, any weather's
- 1:00Speaker 1: football weather, but with that rain is something cinematic about that.
- 1:03Speaker 1: You get the camera out there, you get some good
- 1:05Speaker 1: rain shots. I'm just saying, like, that's good football weather
- 1:08Speaker 1: for me, coming straight off the bye week, feeling good,
- 1:11Speaker 1: feeling healthy, it was a good week to have coming
- 1:15Speaker 1: off a loss. Something that like that is not only
- 1:19Speaker 1: it's a shell shock, but it's just more about keeping
- 1:22Speaker 1: the team chemistry alive and making sure that we take
- 1:24Speaker 1: this bye week seriously. And so for us right now,
- 1:27Speaker 1: we're sitting seven to four second in our conference, right
- 1:31Speaker 1: beneath the Broncos, and we're prepared. You know, That's what
- 1:34Speaker 1: it comes down to, is us staying prepared, stay focused,
- 1:37Speaker 1: and staying healthy. So for us, we needed this bye.
- 1:40Speaker 1: We usually we get bye weeks early in the season,
- 1:43Speaker 1: but this year blessed enough to have it right about now.
- 1:46Speaker 1: It keeps it prepared for rolling into the playoffs. And
- 1:50Speaker 1: something that our coach talked about this week was or today,
- 1:54Speaker 1: was every game moving forward is a playoff game. And
- 1:57Speaker 1: so that's where our mind is right now. That's where
- 1:59Speaker 1: the team team is as far as our want to
- 2:03Speaker 1: and now it's about figuring out how we get these wins,
- 2:06Speaker 1: pull these off. But the main focus is the main thing,
- 2:08Speaker 1: and that's just getting one win after another. And so
- 2:11Speaker 1: the next one up is the Raiders. It's huge. These
- 2:15Speaker 1: conference games are huge, and the reason why they're so
- 2:17Speaker 1: big is because they count us too. We already have
- 2:21Speaker 1: one up on them, and so it's trying to make it,
- 2:24Speaker 1: you know, a sweep. So for us, this week is
- 2:27Speaker 1: a huge one going against the Raiders, and then we have,
- 2:30Speaker 1: you know, to get get those dudes that say the
- 2:32Speaker 1: top right now, and that's the Broncos. And for us,
- 2:35Speaker 1: we're focused preparing and making sure that we you know,
- 2:40Speaker 1: treat every game like it's a playoff game right now.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And I mean it's tough to be any division rival
- 2:47Speaker 1: for sure, for sure, But it's all about, you know,
- 2:51Speaker 1: focusing on the details. Because when you play a team
- 2:54Speaker 1: back to back as many times as you do, especially
- 2:56Speaker 1: in your conference, it's like they know your tendencies, we
- 3:00Speaker 1: know theirs. So it's about keeping it fresh, making sure
- 3:03Speaker 1: whatever they show up, I mean they show us, it's
- 3:05Speaker 1: something that we can adapt to and we can continue
- 3:07Speaker 1: to show them new looks. And so we prepared. We
- 3:11Speaker 1: face some great quarterbacks in our conference, and right now
- 3:15Speaker 1: our defense is looking to get back on the track.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Based off our last game, we just felt like that
- 3:21Speaker 1: wasn't our best and so right now, moving into the
- 3:23Speaker 1: next week, we're trying to show the whole conference what
- 3:26Speaker 1: we're about moving into the playoffs. All right, y'all, let's
- 3:28Speaker 1: switch gears. Let's talk about that boy, Jamier gives out
- 3:31Speaker 1: there Detroit. He was hooping hooping this week and he
- 3:36Speaker 1: had definitely definitely had to play the week in my opinion,
- 3:38Speaker 1: and I'm pretty sure in all of you guys opinion,
- 3:40Speaker 1: But outside of him having to play of the week,
- 3:42Speaker 1: the man had fifteen carries, two hundred nineteen rushing yards,
- 3:45Speaker 1: eleven receptions, forty five reception yards, and three touchdowns. I
- 3:50Speaker 1: mean snapping snapping, just the best way to put it
- 3:54Speaker 1: is boys special. I mean it's something that he does
- 3:57Speaker 1: day in and day out. I mean, every game not
- 3:59Speaker 1: see him, he finds a way to make a play.
- 4:01Speaker 1: And for me, I think he's special just due to
- 4:03Speaker 1: the vision, the quick twitch, the sudden movements that he has. Man,
- 4:07Speaker 1: he's one heck of a player and I know he's
- 4:09Speaker 1: an offensive threat. Somebody got a game plan for somebody
- 4:12Speaker 1: would definitely be on our board as a key player
- 4:15Speaker 1: to stop. And I mean he proves it. He definitely
- 4:18Speaker 1: proved it, and he proved it this week again. You
- 4:20Speaker 1: got to be able to have an angles man. That's
- 4:22Speaker 1: boy Gibbs. A hell of a play. Like I said, backfield,
- 4:26Speaker 1: get the ball. Not only is it play pretty much
- 4:28Speaker 1: disrupted in the backfield, but he has the vision, makes
- 4:30Speaker 1: the cut, then he gets upfield and it's all him
- 4:34Speaker 1: from there. That's just one heap of play. So let
- 4:36Speaker 1: me see this, say, Jamier Gibbs touchdown put Gibbs in
- 4:39Speaker 1: second place by himself for the second most touchdowns by
- 4:41Speaker 1: a player under the age of twenty four. He has
- 4:44Speaker 1: forty four touchdowns. Barry Sanders holds the record with forty seven.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I mean, to have your name next to greatness like that,
- 4:52Speaker 1: he definitely doing something right. Yeah, So shot at that,
- 4:55Speaker 1: boy Gibbs, and that OT play. That OT play when
- 4:59Speaker 1: the game, when you the player and they need you
- 5:01Speaker 1: and you go out there. I think that was the
- 5:02Speaker 1: first play from scrimmage right there on the first and
- 5:05Speaker 1: ten game game on the line. Nasty work, nasty work.
- 5:11Speaker 1: But speaking of that play, let's let's look and see
- 5:13Speaker 1: what happened. Let's break it down a little bit from
- 5:16Speaker 1: the perspective that I'm gonna look at, or I'm gonna take.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna go ahead and look at the linebacker's perspective.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I'm a dim of will linebacker, so I'm usually on
- 5:23Speaker 1: the outside of most formations. But right now, looking at
- 5:25Speaker 1: how they plan, I'm looking at a single high safety
- 5:28Speaker 1: right here. Single high safety. I think the first thing
- 5:32Speaker 1: that quarterbacks try to do, whether it's runner pass or
- 5:35Speaker 1: man's own, id see what the defense is giving them.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Right now, Me being a linebacker, I'm looking at a
- 5:41Speaker 1: single high safety rotation to other safety right here. I
- 5:45Speaker 1: know that's Javon Holland my dog. He a baller. He's
- 5:48Speaker 1: rotated real low, so I'm knowing it gotta be single
- 5:51Speaker 1: high for him to drop from that low. That'd be crazy.
- 5:55Speaker 1: But looking at these corners, you got the corner playing
- 5:58Speaker 1: off about what that look about seven yards, So I'm
- 6:02Speaker 1: gonna say, yeah, they definitely going single high, which means
- 6:05Speaker 1: that they can play both pass and run. This is
- 6:08Speaker 1: a great run and pass defense right here, so I
- 6:11Speaker 1: would think this is the right call as far as
- 6:14Speaker 1: the defense go. Just looking at this willbacker. That's where
- 6:17Speaker 1: I would be. The reason he's lost over to the
- 6:19Speaker 1: central formation is because the rotation is down to the
- 6:22Speaker 1: left and they have a trip set right here. The
- 6:25Speaker 1: offense has a trip set so when they load, when
- 6:29Speaker 1: they load the offense to their left, that's why the
- 6:32Speaker 1: defense shifts over a little bit, so they can be
- 6:34Speaker 1: over there ready for anything like a sweep, a toss
- 6:37Speaker 1: in what Jaimir gives, that's always a threat. He's so fast.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Getting him to the outside is an advantage for any offense,
- 6:43Speaker 1: especially Detroit. So I can see that's why the defense
- 6:46Speaker 1: is loaded to the left. So if you see the bodies,
- 6:49Speaker 1: you got one, two, three, four, five all loaded just
- 6:54Speaker 1: like they do one two three, and then add the
- 6:58Speaker 1: running back that's four. It's about counting and giving the
- 7:01Speaker 1: balance of the defense to balance the offense. So that's
- 7:04Speaker 1: just a little pre snaper read right there for you.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Let's get into it a little bit. Okay, right there,
- 7:09Speaker 1: you see that motion, Why do you motion or receiver
- 7:14Speaker 1: closer to the box? High alert for run, high aler
- 7:18Speaker 1: for run. You want to add another body, You want
- 7:20Speaker 1: to get some protection, You want to make sure that
- 7:22Speaker 1: they can open more gaps it's a numbers game. You
- 7:26Speaker 1: want to get them in the box. You want to
- 7:27Speaker 1: get them the block. And that's an elite receiver right there.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Armorraw motion it in to go block, doing the dirty work.
- 7:35Speaker 1: A lot of guys in this league, receivers, the high
- 7:37Speaker 1: paid ones don't do the dirty work. So respect to
- 7:40Speaker 1: that man for motion into that box. When you a linebacker,
- 7:43Speaker 1: one of your number one keys is outside in you
- 7:46Speaker 1: read that tight end. You read the triangle, so to speak.
- 7:49Speaker 1: You read the tight end that tackle, and it goes
- 7:52Speaker 1: to the backfield. That's where you get your run pass
- 7:54Speaker 1: for you from. This is the triangle. So right here,
- 7:59Speaker 1: I'm looking at a run pasad for the safety. This
- 8:04Speaker 1: this is interesting right here, And the reason why I
- 8:07Speaker 1: say it's interesting is because the safety Javon, it looks
- 8:11Speaker 1: like he's blitzing. It looks like he's he's going on
- 8:14Speaker 1: the pressure edge pressure. Let me see right here. Yeah,
- 8:18Speaker 1: it looks like he's going on the edge pressure right here.
- 8:20Speaker 1: That's interesting, which would put them in sort of a
- 8:23Speaker 1: fire zone right here. A fire zone for instance, if
- 8:27Speaker 1: you send pressure off the edge, that would make this
- 8:29Speaker 1: man a flat player, this man and three player, and
- 8:33Speaker 1: this man a flat player. So you got three dudes.
- 8:37Speaker 1: It's pretty much three under three d pretty much, and
- 8:40Speaker 1: you sending pressure. So now you got five rushers up front.
- 8:44Speaker 1: You got five rushers up front. It should cover all gaps. Honestly,
- 8:49Speaker 1: it should cover all gaps. But seeing what Gibbs did,
- 8:53Speaker 1: it did not cover all gaps. Boom, he found a way.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Now I'm not the Giants coach, so I'm gonna steer
- 9:01Speaker 1: clear of being too trying to be too much of
- 9:04Speaker 1: a critic because football is football and at the end
- 9:07Speaker 1: of the day, whatever happens on that field is between
- 9:08Speaker 1: the man and the man in front of them. So
- 9:11Speaker 1: it looks like this edge right here is doing the
- 9:13Speaker 1: work in the backfield, doing real damage. But Gibbs makes
- 9:17Speaker 1: the play. He makes the play, he sees it, he
- 9:19Speaker 1: sees him in the backfield, makes a cut. That's just amazing.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Right there, that's amazing. That's where you got to give
- 9:26Speaker 1: credit to the running back right there. This is him
- 9:28Speaker 1: making the play. This place should be stopped. That's dominance
- 9:30Speaker 1: right there by the edge. He makes that cut, He
- 9:33Speaker 1: gets upfield, finds the lane and right here, no man
- 9:36Speaker 1: staying right here. And what I mean by that is
- 9:40Speaker 1: anybody player to make and that goes for the defense,
- 9:43Speaker 1: that goes for the defense, that goes for the offense.
- 9:45Speaker 1: And I mean when I say the offense, the running back,
- 9:47Speaker 1: and that goes for the safety. What it comes down
- 9:49Speaker 1: to is this man right here, This is a play
- 9:53Speaker 1: he has to make for his team. Right here is
- 9:56Speaker 1: just you and him. There's nothing but spacing opportunity. As
- 9:59Speaker 1: someone will say in the streets, is a number of
- 10:00Speaker 1: space and opportunity. He comes down. This is one Monoymno,
- 10:05Speaker 1: let's see what happens. Speed, Speed happens. That's what happens.
- 10:13Speaker 1: You getting a man like that, all this open space,
- 10:16Speaker 1: all he has to do is run away from you.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Now there's no shot at this safety. That's one hell
- 10:20Speaker 1: of a player for sure. But Jamier as well is
- 10:23Speaker 1: a hell of a player. So, like I said, man
- 10:25Speaker 1: versus man, and the fastest man won this battle right here.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I will say the only thing I think that he
- 10:32Speaker 1: could have done as a safety in this situation is
- 10:34Speaker 1: probably attack the line of scrimmage faster, get a run,
- 10:37Speaker 1: pass read a little bit better. But I mean, this
- 10:41Speaker 1: is a hell of a talent right here. But I've
- 10:43Speaker 1: seen twenty four make a lot of players in this league,
- 10:45Speaker 1: so no doubt he'll get that shot again. He'll make
- 10:47Speaker 1: something happen. Shout out Gibbs, man, this is one help
- 10:49Speaker 1: of play and like I said, in the clutch first
- 10:52Speaker 1: and ten, put the ball in his hands, he'll make
- 10:54Speaker 1: a play. But speaking of the Lions though in general, man,
- 10:57Speaker 1: that's the one heck of a team. Seeing that they
- 10:59Speaker 1: are not in the playoff picture right now is shocking,
- 11:02Speaker 1: but that just shows how much firepower is over there
- 11:04Speaker 1: in the NFC right now. But one hell of a team,
- 11:08Speaker 1: not only as Dan Campbell a hell of a coach,
- 11:10Speaker 1: but just the staff that he's assembled around him has
- 11:13Speaker 1: proven to be true losing coaches in the offseason but
- 11:17Speaker 1: still being able to put up the numbers and have
- 11:20Speaker 1: the team perform as they do. They're not out of it.
- 11:24Speaker 1: They're not out of it. Respect to the players that
- 11:26Speaker 1: they got tandem in that backfield, one heck of a
- 11:30Speaker 1: duo running backs, a heck of a receiving corps, and
- 11:33Speaker 1: I could talk about the offensive line all day and
- 11:35Speaker 1: golf of course, but man, that's the hell of a team.
- 11:38Speaker 1: And I respect to the Giants as well. They put
- 11:40Speaker 1: a hell of a fight a hell of an effort.
- 11:42Speaker 1: That was a good game overall. But it's a tight
- 11:45Speaker 1: race over there in the NFC. And I wouldn't count
- 11:48Speaker 1: out the Lions, not yet. Man, not yet. I wouldn't
- 11:50Speaker 1: count on anybody over there, just due to the fact
- 11:52Speaker 1: that we got so much season left. You know what
- 11:54Speaker 1: I'm saying. But shout out them guys. Enough with that
- 11:57Speaker 1: offense to talk. Let's talk about the deepest performance, now
- 12:00Speaker 1: only by a single player, but by the whole defensive team.
- 12:02Speaker 1: That's side of the ball. Them Texas, Man, them Texas
- 12:06Speaker 1: win against not only a good offense, but a great
- 12:09Speaker 1: quarterback in Josh Allen, and they got to him good man.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Eight sacks, they went crazy, two interceptions, three turnovers, nineteen
- 12:16Speaker 1: points allowed. I mean that is something that a defensive
- 12:19Speaker 1: coordinator dreams about. Man, that's just one heck of a
- 12:22Speaker 1: game plan, not only by the coach but executed by
- 12:25Speaker 1: the players. Shout out them boys out there, and not
- 12:28Speaker 1: only with my looking at well we all looking at
- 12:31Speaker 1: this right now. Look at them that comes down, the effort,
- 12:34Speaker 1: that comes down the angles, that comes down to hustle,
- 12:36Speaker 1: and want to right there, I'm looking at them boys
- 12:39Speaker 1: swarming in that red It's a good thing to see.
- 12:42Speaker 1: As a defensive player, I can respect any team no
- 12:44Speaker 1: matter whether they're going against me or we're going against them.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I can respect any team that's playing good defense. Man.
- 12:50Speaker 1: That's what's I live by it. I play defense. So
- 12:53Speaker 1: I am one of those who preaches defensive win championships
- 12:56Speaker 1: and offensive tickets. I ap preach that. But shout out
- 12:59Speaker 1: them boys over there. I mean Will Anderson, he went crazy,
- 13:04Speaker 1: Daniel Hunter went crazy. Kaitlyn Bullock a dog back there.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I seen both interceptions, and I've seen the force rumble.
- 13:11Speaker 1: The man's a ball hawk, as it will say. So
- 13:14Speaker 1: I think that defense was booming. And Josh Allen, I
- 13:17Speaker 1: mean just was the MVP, so seeing him out there,
- 13:21Speaker 1: I know he got a little frustrated. But what it
- 13:23Speaker 1: comes down to is is good defense can be good
- 13:25Speaker 1: offense for sure, for sure. But respect to them boys,
- 13:29Speaker 1: respect to that coach Demik O'Ryan. He put a hell
- 13:32Speaker 1: of a scheme together and they executed that thing right there,
- 13:35Speaker 1: for sure. It's like I said, I appreciate good, good
- 13:39Speaker 1: defensive play, all right, talking about it, Let's get into
- 13:41Speaker 1: it though. Let's see a couple of these We had
- 13:43Speaker 1: a couple of sacks going on. Let's see who got
- 13:45Speaker 1: this one right here? All right, first play, let's talk
- 13:47Speaker 1: about is this Will Anderson right here. Let's see man
- 13:50Speaker 1: standing up, looking like you ready to go get it.
- 13:53Speaker 1: That's what I like to see. I like that stance,
- 13:55Speaker 1: that stand upstands. It just shows that it could be anything.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Need the power, one arm, a nice little spipe move.
- 14:03Speaker 1: You ain't no telling what's coming out of that stands.
- 14:05Speaker 1: But understanding that what Anderson has a bag and I
- 14:08Speaker 1: know he can get into it. Let's see what happens. Boom, Okay,
- 14:14Speaker 1: speed to power, one hand, get off me. Dog work,
- 14:18Speaker 1: dog work, And let's let's talk about this. You going
- 14:22Speaker 1: against the left tackle. That ain't no slouch. Yeah, that's Dowkins.
- 14:25Speaker 1: That ain't no slouch. That's a dog right there. No
- 14:28Speaker 1: known for stopping some of the best pass rushers in
- 14:30Speaker 1: the game. So mad respect to not only him, but
- 14:34Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, just shows how improved of
- 14:39Speaker 1: a player Will Anderson is. It doesn't matter who's in
- 14:43Speaker 1: front of him. It's looking like we got pressed man
- 14:45Speaker 1: down at the bottom. Yeah thirteen, it's looking like man
- 14:50Speaker 1: right now, when you put your defense in man let
- 14:53Speaker 1: me tell you something. When you put your defensive man,
- 14:55Speaker 1: you're saying that your pass rush can get there. You
- 14:58Speaker 1: believe in the dominance of your past rush. You know
- 15:00Speaker 1: that r dbs can hold their receivers long enough for
- 15:06Speaker 1: our defensive line to go make that play. And I
- 15:09Speaker 1: think that's what you see right here. The middle is
- 15:12Speaker 1: completely shot right here. These two d tackles right here
- 15:16Speaker 1: are working. He's going with a double. But mind you
- 15:19Speaker 1: I'm looking at is that that right guard. He's looking
- 15:22Speaker 1: at the neil hunter. So he's only there temporarily because
- 15:25Speaker 1: he's trying to make sure he can help the center
- 15:27Speaker 1: as well as the tackle on the right side of them.
- 15:31Speaker 1: He has the single block right here, which means he
- 15:33Speaker 1: get to go both ways. But because of this scheme,
- 15:37Speaker 1: like I said, because of the scheme, it gave Will
- 15:39Speaker 1: Anderson a single block. When you look in at pass
- 15:42Speaker 1: for a scheme, you always want to get your best
- 15:44Speaker 1: rushers a single block and less then work. Let them
- 15:48Speaker 1: cook go in that bag a little bit Right here though,
- 15:51Speaker 1: when I'm looking at is that little shimmy right here?
- 15:56Speaker 1: This is called speed to power. Right here, you get
- 15:58Speaker 1: off the line quick burst, you give that little stutter
- 16:01Speaker 1: right here, so you go boom speed. When you do
- 16:05Speaker 1: that little shemmy right there, that's you going into power.
- 16:09Speaker 1: When you speed, that shocks to tackle basically makes him
- 16:13Speaker 1: get out faster thinking that you're going to outrun him
- 16:15Speaker 1: on the edge. This is what the tackle thought he
- 16:18Speaker 1: was gonna do. When you give him a chimmy, it
- 16:20Speaker 1: then slows him down to where he's off balance, he's
- 16:23Speaker 1: on his heels and he can power through him. That's
- 16:26Speaker 1: what that was right there. That's why we call it
- 16:28Speaker 1: speed to power. You give him that shemy, put him
- 16:31Speaker 1: on his heels, boom straight through his chest all the
- 16:34Speaker 1: way to the QB. Because even though it's a single
- 16:37Speaker 1: block by Will Anderson, he does the work. It's all connected.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Everything is connected. What did I just tell you about
- 16:43Speaker 1: this guard right here? He's waiting to help his tackle.
- 16:46Speaker 1: But if he never gets to his tackle, that pressure
- 16:49Speaker 1: that Daniella Hunter is putting on Daniel Hunter is putting
- 16:52Speaker 1: on Josh, he ends up in his face. Josh feels
- 16:55Speaker 1: that he's a QB with amazing pocket awareness. He feels
- 16:59Speaker 1: that it makes him step up. But when you step up,
- 17:02Speaker 1: you have nowhere to go. You're looking for escape. Routes.
- 17:05Speaker 1: You can't go too deep in the pocket. It gives
- 17:08Speaker 1: Will Anderson the opportunity to peel off inside and get
- 17:13Speaker 1: that sack. That right there is team effort right there.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Beautiful play by the demis a line the nil Hunter,
- 17:19Speaker 1: and incorporate it and everybody involved, Will Anderson for sure.
- 17:23Speaker 1: All right, so right here the nil hunter, I mean,
- 17:27Speaker 1: two elite passwords on the field the same at the
- 17:29Speaker 1: same time. A QB's nightmare. He's a h shake a
- 17:34Speaker 1: little bit boom. That's the thing, man, when you when
- 17:38Speaker 1: you when you are elite at your job, not only
- 17:43Speaker 1: does it make you like you know, somebody to be feared,
- 17:47Speaker 1: but it also makes you a target. So respect to Dawkins.
- 17:50Speaker 1: They probably was going at bro switching off just to
- 17:54Speaker 1: get him on his heels. All right, let's look at
- 17:56Speaker 1: this play. Boom boom woo. I gotta show love to them.
- 18:04Speaker 1: D Tackles man, them D Tackles is funneling all the
- 18:08Speaker 1: work inside and making the QB panic cause when that
- 18:13Speaker 1: pocket condenses, and right now, it looks pretty, it looks
- 18:16Speaker 1: pretty wide open. It looks like he has a million lanes.
- 18:18Speaker 1: But that's the thing about pass rushing. You always know
- 18:21Speaker 1: where he could possibly go. That rhymes bar Come on,
- 18:26Speaker 1: go ahead, write that down. So right here, he he
- 18:28Speaker 1: looks like he's stepping up into the pocket. It looks
- 18:31Speaker 1: like he has a many a million options. But because
- 18:33Speaker 1: the Neil hunters up top and he has his arm free,
- 18:36Speaker 1: you always rush to keep one arm free. It gives
- 18:39Speaker 1: him the ability to spend out the block. And I know,
- 18:44Speaker 1: like I said earlier, Josh Allen has great pocket awareness.
- 18:48Speaker 1: He feels that he circles away. Not only is he
- 18:50Speaker 1: getting closed in by two, he's trying to work back
- 18:54Speaker 1: to the opposite side of the field, but that's the speed,
- 18:58Speaker 1: that speed right there. He doesn't make it. Now, if
- 19:02Speaker 1: he did make it, he would probably have an out.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Not only would he have a pass right here to
- 19:07Speaker 1: the running back, but Will Anderson he let go the edge.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Since Will went inside, there's a great chance that Josh Allen,
- 19:16Speaker 1: being the talent that he is, couldn't make it back
- 19:17Speaker 1: this way. But since we're talking about talent Daniel Hunter,
- 19:23Speaker 1: he has it all right here on this play Boom backfield,
- 19:26Speaker 1: TfL sack and you got a swarm and swarming linebacker
- 19:31Speaker 1: right there. So if it wasn't gonna be him, It
- 19:35Speaker 1: definitely would have been somebody else. Like I said earlier, Man,
- 19:38Speaker 1: this defense was swarming all day. Look at all I
- 19:42Speaker 1: read around that. That's one, two, three, folk five dudes
- 19:48Speaker 1: closer to the opposite quarterback than the offensive line. That's
- 19:53Speaker 1: a tough day. That's a tough thing for any quarterback
- 19:56Speaker 1: to handle. But it's more so about what the defense
- 19:58Speaker 1: was doing than with the offense doing on these plays. So,
- 20:01Speaker 1: just talking about that defense right there, are they a
- 20:03Speaker 1: top five defense? Much respect of those guys. I think
- 20:06Speaker 1: for sure they have the talent to be a top
- 20:08Speaker 1: five defense, if not already right now. I'm not one
- 20:11Speaker 1: of those guys who checked the stats, but I would
- 20:14Speaker 1: definitely say they up there, theay up there, especially with
- 20:16Speaker 1: that performance right there and how they just got on
- 20:19Speaker 1: Josh Allen, I definitely say they have top five defense.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Just thinking about top five defense, I'm gonna definitely put
- 20:24Speaker 1: the Chargers up there because I'm on that defense and
- 20:27Speaker 1: I know how much we prepare for every team and
- 20:29Speaker 1: what we can do. And then not only that, I
- 20:31Speaker 1: definitely say much respect to Green Bay Packers, the Rams
- 20:36Speaker 1: for sure, for sure, the Broncos. I think I want
- 20:41Speaker 1: to say the Ravens have been up there these past
- 20:44Speaker 1: few these past few weeks, the Ravens have made a
- 20:47Speaker 1: lot of turnaround in what they doing. Uh, and then
- 20:51Speaker 1: I will say my lives would probably be it's a
- 20:55Speaker 1: tough one. I would say the Eagles. Don't mean I'm
- 21:00Speaker 1: this because the last game, like so much stuff is changing.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Like the last game in versus Dallas, I really thought
- 21:05Speaker 1: that was supposed to be an easy dub. You know,
- 21:07Speaker 1: as far as how they played in the first few quarters,
- 21:10Speaker 1: I'm thinking like they already had it sold up. But
- 21:13Speaker 1: you know, just long term how they've been playing though,
- 21:16Speaker 1: they have been the top five demens in my opinion.
- 21:18Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go ahead and go with them for sure.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Now it's time for a better deal segment where I'm
- 21:25Speaker 1: choosing between one and two scenarios, a late fourth quarter
- 21:28Speaker 1: interception or a late fourth quarter sack for me personally, hint,
- 21:32Speaker 1: somebody is like the momentum shift at any point in
- 21:34Speaker 1: the game. But to get a sack at the end
- 21:37Speaker 1: of a game in a clutch, crucial situation, I think
- 21:41Speaker 1: that's what I'm gonna go with. So the fourth quarter sack,
- 21:43Speaker 1: I think that's the situation that I'm gonna have to
- 21:46Speaker 1: choose because not only is it momentum shift, but it
- 21:51Speaker 1: means so much when you can get a sack on
- 21:54Speaker 1: your side of the thirty forty. It's all about field
- 21:57Speaker 1: field advantageing and where you put the ball. So I
- 22:00Speaker 1: think that's a big momentum shift, and it takes me back. Man.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I had a crucial sack earlier in the season, first
- 22:06Speaker 1: game actually in Brazil. So that was lit against Patrick Mahomes.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Respect to the talent that he is, respect to the
- 22:13Speaker 1: team that he has, but just having that moment where
- 22:16Speaker 1: it was a do or die situation, getting them off
- 22:19Speaker 1: the field, making sure that we were in they were
- 22:22Speaker 1: in our territory, protecting the end zone. It's something that we,
- 22:25Speaker 1: you know, we have to be prideful about as a defense.
- 22:28Speaker 1: And so for me to get that sack, it was
- 22:30Speaker 1: huge momentum. The live the fans, so many people had
- 22:34Speaker 1: knew nothing about football, but they was cheering for that play.
- 22:37Speaker 1: So that's what I'm saying, momentum man. Shout out Brazil,
- 22:40Speaker 1: shout out the Chargers, and that was one heck of
- 22:43Speaker 1: a play. I remember like it was yesterday. QB Spy.
- 22:47Speaker 1: I'm off to the left side of the center. We know,
- 22:50Speaker 1: after just studying film, that Mahomes was a QB that
- 22:53Speaker 1: would like to scramble through the B gap. So we
- 22:55Speaker 1: opened up the B gap on purpose so I would
- 22:58Speaker 1: be able to rap. So it was like a baits
- 23:00Speaker 1: which I was baiting him hoping he would go through
- 23:01Speaker 1: the B gap. He did. I had to trust my speed.
- 23:04Speaker 1: He's one heck of an elusive guy when he's breaking
- 23:06Speaker 1: the pocket. I had to trust my speed, trust my
- 23:09Speaker 1: angle and make the play they got made. We talk
- 23:12Speaker 1: about it today history and right now, speaking of defense
- 23:18Speaker 1: performances and dominant players in this league, let's talk about
- 23:23Speaker 1: one of the most dominant players as of today, Miles Garrett.
- 23:26Speaker 1: And look at what he's been doing. Man, Look at
- 23:28Speaker 1: that last game against the Raiders right now, Man, he's
- 23:30Speaker 1: been dominant. Four tackles, three sacks for TFLs, two forced promos.
- 23:34Speaker 1: The man is on fire, not only in this time
- 23:37Speaker 1: that we are in, but in all of history. Man,
- 23:39Speaker 1: I've been seeing all types of stuff about the records
- 23:41Speaker 1: he's been breaking, and not only breaking the ones he's
- 23:45Speaker 1: been making. So shout out to that boy, Miles Garrett
- 23:48Speaker 1: and what he's got going on right now. He's cooking.
- 23:50Speaker 1: He's one hundred percent cooking. And if I'm not mistaken,
- 23:53Speaker 1: the man is at eighteen sacks right now, and I
- 23:57Speaker 1: think the record is twenty two, twenty two and a
- 23:59Speaker 1: half not and who holds that straight hand? I think
- 24:04Speaker 1: straight hand got to watch out for that one, because
- 24:05Speaker 1: Miles is cooking and he has six more weeks to
- 24:08Speaker 1: get that done. So shout out to Miles Garrett. For sure.
- 24:12Speaker 1: He's a dominant player in this league right now, in
- 24:16Speaker 1: the league as it stands in history. Just let's take
- 24:20Speaker 1: a look at that last game right there, please, he
- 24:23Speaker 1: was going off. I think he's had multiple forsac games
- 24:26Speaker 1: this season alone, and he's not stopping. I don't see
- 24:30Speaker 1: him stopping anytime soon. Then, just talking about this year
- 24:34Speaker 1: and the possibility of being a dp O why Devise
- 24:37Speaker 1: player the year, I think he's up there. I think,
- 24:40Speaker 1: in my opinion, he's probably has the highest chances, just
- 24:44Speaker 1: due to the fact that he's making history right now.
- 24:46Speaker 1: And I mean, who loves more history than the NFL itself.
- 24:51Speaker 1: You know, we love people who touch the record books,
- 24:53Speaker 1: and so just looking at him and all the things
- 24:55Speaker 1: he's been doing so far, I mean, the biggest thing
- 24:58Speaker 1: about it is the consistency. Doing it one season is
- 25:01Speaker 1: one thing, but to continue to do it throughout your
- 25:04Speaker 1: career is why he differs from a lot of players. Man,
- 25:07Speaker 1: he is dominating season after season after season. You can
- 25:11Speaker 1: stack dage, you can stack plays, you can stack seasons.
- 25:13Speaker 1: That's when you know you're on your way to do
- 25:16Speaker 1: some great things. And I can say a lot of
- 25:18Speaker 1: things about Miles Geart. He's not my teammate, and I
- 25:20Speaker 1: can still praise him, but amazing, dude, he's separating hisself
- 25:24Speaker 1: from the rest, for sure. And then let's talk about
- 25:27Speaker 1: the office side of the ball. You look at Miles
- 25:29Speaker 1: Garrett dominating on the DEFs side of the ball, and
- 25:31Speaker 1: then you give that boy Shad Or Sanders a shot
- 25:34Speaker 1: to go make plays on the off side of ball.
- 25:36Speaker 1: And just looking at him and what he was able
- 25:38Speaker 1: to do in his first start, very impressive by him, man,
- 25:41Speaker 1: very impressive. Eleven for twenty two hundred and nine passing yards,
- 25:44Speaker 1: one touchdown, and I mean, just overall dominance in winning
- 25:48Speaker 1: the game, you know what I'm saying. That's what it
- 25:50Speaker 1: comes down to, is being able to win as a
- 25:51Speaker 1: QB in this league. It's hard, and that's I mean,
- 25:55Speaker 1: the Browns haven't been winning this year, so for him
- 25:58Speaker 1: to come out first start, which I've heard has not
- 26:00Speaker 1: been really a thing known for Browns qbs to win
- 26:04Speaker 1: in their first start, so him being one of the
- 26:05Speaker 1: first to do it isn't truly impressive thing. No matter
- 26:08Speaker 1: who the opponent was, I feel like respect to him
- 26:10Speaker 1: and whatever he was able to do out there. I
- 26:13Speaker 1: did watch the game and I seen one hell of
- 26:16Speaker 1: a throw rolling to his right, pressure on him, lays
- 26:19Speaker 1: it out. I wish the receiver would have stayed up
- 26:22Speaker 1: man and rolled into the end zone for sure. For sure,
- 26:24Speaker 1: just respect for the game because it was a hell
- 26:26Speaker 1: of a play, but not I just I just got
- 26:29Speaker 1: mad respect for him to uh withstand all the battles
- 26:34Speaker 1: in triumph at the end. I mean, it's not over
- 26:36Speaker 1: for him. The journey's just beginning, but so far he
- 26:39Speaker 1: hasn't had it easy, and that's something that you gotta respect.
- 26:43Speaker 1: He comes in, he's not what he thought it would be,
- 26:46Speaker 1: but then he's motivated to make it what he wants
- 26:49Speaker 1: it to be, and I think that's right. There is
- 26:51Speaker 1: a story in itself, So wishing him nothing but the
- 26:54Speaker 1: best except for when he plays the charges obviously, and
- 26:57Speaker 1: then speaking of quarterbacks, me being the line back and
- 27:00Speaker 1: seeing the other side of it, I want to give
- 27:03Speaker 1: a little shout out to the god who need a
- 27:04Speaker 1: little bit more shine. I feel like it's quarterbacks that
- 27:07Speaker 1: you have a lot of respect in the game. But
- 27:12Speaker 1: I think the outside people don't see it as much
- 27:14Speaker 1: as we do because they're not involved as we are.
- 27:18Speaker 1: But just thinking about some right now that I can
- 27:19Speaker 1: run off the top of my head, I will say
- 27:21Speaker 1: one justin Herbert no brainer. Yes I'm biased, but also
- 27:25Speaker 1: I do see the work that the man puts in.
- 27:26Speaker 1: I see the arm talent that he has. I see
- 27:28Speaker 1: everything that he does from Monday to Sunday, and I mean,
- 27:34Speaker 1: it's the reason why he's on this list, and I
- 27:36Speaker 1: just hate the fact that it's underrated because he deserves
- 27:39Speaker 1: to be higher. And much respect to him. He knows
- 27:43Speaker 1: how to make the plays when it's time to make
- 27:45Speaker 1: the plays. So much respect to Jay herbo All Love.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I will say number two, Jordan Love. I mean young
- 27:54Speaker 1: talent and Ben Booming. If you just look at the
- 27:57Speaker 1: plays that he make, I want to say his command
- 27:59Speaker 1: of his off is one of the more impressive things
- 28:01Speaker 1: that I see from just watching film of them. Jordan
- 28:04Speaker 1: Love is a guy who can make every throw but
- 28:07Speaker 1: also doesn't have a problem getting dirty and getting downfield.
- 28:09Speaker 1: So just that dog mentality. All of these quarterbacks that
- 28:12Speaker 1: I'm naming, I think they have that dog mentality, and
- 28:15Speaker 1: so I would get into that. Going from dog mentality,
- 28:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna go into number three, I'm gonna say Jared Goff.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Jared Goff just looking at his micd up just this
- 28:25Speaker 1: last week, this last game where he told his team
- 28:27Speaker 1: like nobody coming to save us. I think that's that
- 28:30Speaker 1: deserves a lot of praise. That leadership. I think that's
- 28:34Speaker 1: something that a QB has to have, and I think
- 28:36Speaker 1: majority of them have that. But just also his commanded
- 28:39Speaker 1: offense as well. He is able to make the checks,
- 28:44Speaker 1: make all the calls. He's one of those more veteran
- 28:47Speaker 1: qbs in the league right now, and the league is
- 28:50Speaker 1: really young. So Jay Goff being a veteran in this league,
- 28:53Speaker 1: when you approach qbs like that, you gotta respect They're no.
- 28:57Speaker 1: For the game number four, I would say Kayler Williams.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Kyler Williams for sure. The reason I'm gonna say killer
- 29:07Speaker 1: Williams is because what he's doing this season with this
- 29:13Speaker 1: Bears team is I mean, we kind of expected him
- 29:17Speaker 1: to be this the season he got drafted because we
- 29:20Speaker 1: felt like he had all the weapons there. But what
- 29:22Speaker 1: he's doing right now is showing why he was picked
- 29:25Speaker 1: to where he was. And if you look at Kayler Williams,
- 29:29Speaker 1: like just one game, you're gonna see five highlights that
- 29:33Speaker 1: a QB just don't do on a regular Sunday. His
- 29:37Speaker 1: scramble to throw is it's like no other uh. And
- 29:42Speaker 1: then I mean just his pocket awareness is definitely of
- 29:45Speaker 1: the upper the upper class, so disrespect to him in
- 29:48Speaker 1: his game. And then I will say five. I would
- 29:52Speaker 1: probably go with cam Wood. The reason I'm gonna put
- 29:56Speaker 1: cam Woard right here is because I feel like his
- 29:58Speaker 1: talent is it's so it pops off the screen for sure.
- 30:04Speaker 1: If you watch his games and how you play the
- 30:06Speaker 1: challeng just pops off the screen. He has the ability
- 30:10Speaker 1: to make every throw. His decision making is progressing, is
- 30:14Speaker 1: getting better as the season goes. Right now, it just
- 30:17Speaker 1: comes down to, you know, being better in the pocket.
- 30:22Speaker 1: And then you know, I'm no QB, so I can't
- 30:24Speaker 1: really coach you, but just being better in the pocket.
- 30:26Speaker 1: I think once he gets all that down and squared,
- 30:29Speaker 1: he gonna be one of the best qbs in this
- 30:31Speaker 1: league for years to come. I mean, the guy is
- 30:33Speaker 1: a dog, so much respect to him. For sure, those
- 30:36Speaker 1: are my five most underrated, but I think that all
- 30:39Speaker 1: five of these guys can easily be top five qbs
- 30:42Speaker 1: in this league. I mean, if not today, tomorrow, and
- 30:46Speaker 1: so forth. Before I go, let me hand off this
- 30:49Speaker 1: one to Nick Bonito. I do have a question for
- 30:52Speaker 1: you though, before I go. We both just had BIE weeks.
- 30:55Speaker 1: On my bye week, I chilled got with the fam.
- 30:58Speaker 1: What did you do for your bye week? What do
- 31:00Speaker 1: you do for BI weeks? That's it for being our
- 31:02Speaker 1: hand off presented by Verizon
