- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to episode 52 of Revelio for September 7, 2026.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I'm Aimee. And I'm Nicole. And we're back. We're back.
- 0:36Speaker 3: It seems like it's just been forever.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah. Thanks so much for Carolyn for stepping in on
- 0:42Speaker 2: the last episode while I was moving. It was nice
- 0:46Speaker 2: to just kind of.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Have someone else be able to fill in while I
- 0:51Speaker 3: was dealing.
- 0:52Speaker 2: With a cross country move.
- 0:54Speaker 1: So we're back. We are here. And this is kind
- 0:58Speaker 1: of a weird episode because we're releasing on a Monday
- 1:00Speaker 1: instead of a Thursday.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah, everything is just weird.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Everything's thrown off, but I'm glad we waited because a
- 1:07Speaker 1: lot of stuff happened for Back to Hogwarts and we
- 1:10Speaker 1: got a new trailer. So yeah, we made the right choice.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I mean, I feel like this will probably be, and
- 1:18Speaker 2: we did this last year too, I feel like every
- 1:20Speaker 2: year just expect that the first episode of September will
- 1:24Speaker 2: come out kind of weird because I feel like they're
- 1:26Speaker 2: going to keep doing this Back to Hogwarts thing.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. So in this episode, we'll be discussing
- 1:34Speaker 1: the brand new trailer for the Harry Potter HBO series.
- 1:37Speaker 2: But first....
- 1:43Speaker 1: You're listening to WWN, the Wizarding Wireless Network. Now for
- 1:49Speaker 1: the latest headlines. So we have a few pieces of
- 1:52Speaker 1: news that are not Back to Hogwarts announcements. So I
- 1:55Speaker 1: figured we'll get those out of the way real quick
- 1:58Speaker 1: first and then dive into all the things we got
- 2:00Speaker 1: for Back to Hogwarts. um so first up last episode
- 2:05Speaker 1: we reported that nicholas halt would be taking on the
- 2:07Speaker 1: role of gilderoy lockhart in the hbo series and literally
- 2:12Speaker 1: right after our episode came out he apparently withdrew from
- 2:15Speaker 1: the role um he cited scheduling issues and very very
- 2:20Speaker 1: promptly kit harrington was announced to be taking his place
- 2:25Speaker 1: um it was kind of odd how uh immediately they
- 2:28Speaker 1: had that lined up to go but okay.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Yeah I um so I'm actually really really excited for
- 2:37Speaker 2: Kit I I love Kit um and I thought he
- 2:40Speaker 2: was great as um Gilderoy in the audiobooks so I
- 2:44Speaker 2: think that maybe that's like they always maybe like when
- 2:50Speaker 2: they cast, like, Nicholas, maybe he gave them some kind
- 2:53Speaker 2: of inclination that maybe there would be an issue, and
- 2:57Speaker 2: so they kind of were already trying to backfill, and
- 3:00Speaker 2: I think it made a lot of sense to go
- 3:01Speaker 2: right to Kit. I'm really curious, like, what they do with, like,
- 3:07Speaker 2: Kit's look, because I don't know if he, like, necessarily screams, like,
- 3:13Speaker 2: Gilderoy Lockhart in a look perspective, but... I mean, I
- 3:19Speaker 2: find Kit Harington to be extremely attractive. So, you know,
- 3:24Speaker 2: Gilderoy Lockhart is supposed to be wooing all the witches.
- 3:28Speaker 2: That's true. And I'm wooed. So I'm sure it'll be great.
- 3:33Speaker 2: And I'm so excited to see him in this kind
- 3:35Speaker 2: of role. And I think most people probably know Kit
- 3:37Speaker 2: the most for his role as Jon Snow in Game
- 3:40Speaker 2: of Thrones.
- 3:40Speaker 3: But he's done other things. I've seen him on.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Not Broadway, the West End, whatever it's called in London. Yeah,
- 3:47Speaker 3: the West End.
- 3:48Speaker 2: And he was really great in that. The show I
- 3:51Speaker 2: saw Dr. Faustus almost like a decade ago now, which
- 3:54Speaker 2: is crazy, but I'm excited.
- 3:56Speaker 3: But yeah, I want to know like what happened with Nick.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Like that was just.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:01Speaker 1: And if there was if it was iffy. Why did
- 4:05Speaker 1: they announce it?
- 4:06Speaker 2: That's what I was going to say. Like, you feel
- 4:07Speaker 2: like you want.
- 4:09Speaker 3: So maybe he didn't say anything or give them any
- 4:11Speaker 3: inclination that something would be.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Up because why would you go through that whole process
- 4:14Speaker 2: of announcing to be like, hey, JK, like, we have
- 4:17Speaker 2: somebody else.
- 4:18Speaker 1: So maybe what happened, you know, maybe Kit was their, like,
- 4:23Speaker 1: very close second. And maybe they, like, had... Well, obviously
- 4:30Speaker 1: they'd already auditioned for everybody. So, like, maybe they just...
- 4:34Speaker 1: really had him on the line and we're like hey
- 4:36Speaker 1: you want to do it so I don't know it's
- 4:39Speaker 1: interesting I wonder if there are going to be like
- 4:42Speaker 1: more people who have done the audiobooks who end up
- 4:47Speaker 1: in these roles.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Yeah I was wondering that too I mean I think
- 4:51Speaker 2: we've now got like I mean obviously well Arabella was
- 4:55Speaker 2: cast for the show before well we don't know which
- 4:58Speaker 2: one really came first it's just the way they announced
- 5:00Speaker 2: it we knew about her for the show before the
- 5:02Speaker 2: audiobook but I don't know. I mean, I think that
- 5:06Speaker 2: there's some really great actors that signed on and did
- 5:10Speaker 2: that audio project.
- 5:13Speaker 1: And a.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Lot of them are actors that are not just voice actors.
- 5:19Speaker 2: They're also on-screen actors. So you do kind of have
- 5:22Speaker 2: a really good selection of people that you could go
- 5:25Speaker 2: to that have already lived in that role. And it's just...
- 5:33Speaker 2: I don't know. I think maybe I think if they
- 5:35Speaker 2: had just like I said, I think if they had
- 5:37Speaker 2: just gotten like a bunch of voice actors for that,
- 5:39Speaker 2: then we probably wouldn't see them on screen. But right. Yeah,
- 5:44Speaker 2: I'll have to go back and like look at the
- 5:45Speaker 2: because I'm still like listening through all those books. I'm
- 5:48Speaker 2: gonna have to go back and like look through who
- 5:50Speaker 2: all the cast was to be like, do I think
- 5:52Speaker 2: I would like any of these people like in these roles?
- 5:55Speaker 1: Like is Keira Knightley going to be on Bridge? I mean, like...
- 6:00Speaker 1: I wouldn't hate it.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I don't think I'd hate it either. Like, yeah, I
- 6:04Speaker 2: don't think I'd hate it either. I think that I
- 6:08Speaker 2: could see some people saying that, like, Kiera's too, like,
- 6:11Speaker 2: conventionally attractive to play Umbridge. But I, like....
- 6:17Speaker 3: I guess I don't know if I think that's an issue.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Because... Well, I mean, I guess we do get that
- 6:25Speaker 2: description that Umbridge is, like, frog-like and, like, Keira Knightley's.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Not frog-like at all.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Although, I mean, look at what we all said about
- 6:35Speaker 1: the headshots for, like, the Dursleys.
- 6:37Speaker 2: And then I think they look great. And they look perfect.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Costuming and makeup can do so much.
- 6:43Speaker 2: And, like, and I think we, like, I said this before, too,
- 6:45Speaker 2: that at least for me, it's about And then, and again,
- 6:51Speaker 2: and this is like, I guess just maybe an opinion,
- 6:54Speaker 2: like my personal opinion is that is more how like
- 6:57Speaker 2: the acting is. Like if they can act and make
- 7:01Speaker 2: me feel like it's that character, I don't think it
- 7:04Speaker 2: needs to always be this like one-to-one book description of
- 7:11Speaker 2: the looks. Cause I mean, it's also sometimes really hard
- 7:13Speaker 2: to find an actor or an actress that like actually
- 7:17Speaker 2: looks like how an author wrote the character.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Um, But then sometimes we, I mean, we do get
- 7:24Speaker 2: some casting departments that do a really great job and
- 7:26Speaker 2: you're like, well, how did you find this person? They
- 7:28Speaker 2: look perfect.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't know. That would be really interesting
- 7:33Speaker 2: to see like Kara Knightley and Harry Potter. Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So we do have some more casting as well. So
- 7:43Speaker 1: we got our new Jenny after Gracie Cochran was unable
- 7:47Speaker 1: to continue in the role after season one. So for
- 7:50Speaker 1: season two, Bonnie Hill will take on the role of Ginny.
- 7:54Speaker 1: And it looks like she's got a few TV series
- 7:58Speaker 1: credits under her belt already. So she has been working
- 8:01Speaker 1: as a child actress. She's cute. She doesn't have red hair.
- 8:08Speaker 1: But hair dye and wigs exist.
- 8:11Speaker 2: And apparently just the role of Ginny is like destined
- 8:14Speaker 2: to always go to a Bonnie.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Right. I was like, oh, well, that's easy to remember. Yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 1: And then we also have the casting for Dobby, who
- 8:23Speaker 1: will be portrayed by actor Lenny Rush, who also has
- 8:30Speaker 1: been working quite a bit. Looks like he won a
- 8:32Speaker 1: BAFTA for his role in a comedy thriller called Am
- 8:36Speaker 1: I Being Unreasonable? This is another one that is interesting.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I know we talked about this before, like when you
- 8:47Speaker 1: have an actor who portraying a character that's, like, definitely
- 8:52Speaker 1: going to be CGI.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Well, yeah, and so I think, because didn't we talk
- 8:56Speaker 2: about this with, like, Peeves a lot and, like, how
- 8:58Speaker 2: they would cast that?
- 8:59Speaker 3: And I wonder if they're going to do, like, a, like,
- 9:03Speaker 3: motion capture.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Kind of, like, Gollum situation.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Which would be really cool. I really like when that's, like,
- 9:14Speaker 2: the role that, or is it not the role? That's
- 9:17Speaker 2: not what I'm trying to say. The... What's the word
- 9:20Speaker 2: I'm looking for? Oh, geez, this will be a fun episode, guys.
- 9:22Speaker 2: My brain's already not working. The direction.
- 9:25Speaker 3: That's the word I was looking for.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I like when they take the direction of motion capture
- 9:30Speaker 2: for CGI characters over just CGI-ing the character and having
- 9:35Speaker 2: just a voice.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Over. Yeah, I agree. And we also got Tom Riddle,
- 9:43Speaker 1: who will be portrayed by Billy Barrett, who Billy is
- 9:48Speaker 1: an Emmy Award winner and also has quite a few
- 9:51Speaker 1: TV and film credits too, according to IMDb. So nothing
- 9:56Speaker 1: that I really recognized on any of these, but it
- 10:00Speaker 1: looks like a lot of like British television and things
- 10:03Speaker 1: like that yeah well it looks like we're really underway
- 10:11Speaker 1: with Chamber of Secrets right so I'm sure they're filming
- 10:17Speaker 1: soon if they haven't started already And we have another
- 10:22Speaker 1: OG movie cast member coming to Broadway's Cursed Child. So
- 10:27Speaker 1: soon after Tom Felton takes his final bow at the
- 10:30Speaker 1: Lyric Theater, Rupert Grint will be reprising his role as
- 10:34Speaker 1: Ron Weasley in the Broadway production. Rupert will be in
- 10:37Speaker 1: the role from February through May 2027. And as of
- 10:42Speaker 1: the recording of this episode, tickets are already on sale.
- 10:48Speaker 3: I was actually like really shocked by this announcement.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I know.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Like this was something like when they announced like Tom coming,
- 10:56Speaker 2: like that did not surprise me whatsoever because he's just
- 11:00Speaker 2: so active still in the fandom. But this one like
- 11:04Speaker 2: really threw me for like a field.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Like when's the last time Rupert really did anything with
- 11:10Speaker 1: Harry Potter?
- 11:12Speaker 2: Probably when they filmed that like 20th anniversary special that
- 11:16Speaker 2: was on HBO.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Yeah. Because I don't really feel like he does like
- 11:22Speaker 1: conventions or anything anymore either.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Nope.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So this was really kind of out of left field,
- 11:27Speaker 1: but okay.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll have to see if I like, of course,
- 11:34Speaker 2: this would happen after I move out of New York State,
- 11:36Speaker 2: but I'll have to see if maybe I can come up.
- 11:39Speaker 2: at some point because I do kind of want to
- 11:41Speaker 2: see him but.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I would like to but you know what out of
- 11:44Speaker 1: the two I would rather see Tom Felton so I'm
- 11:48Speaker 1: glad I was feeling that too I'm like you know
- 11:49Speaker 1: what if I miss this I think I'll be okay
- 11:52Speaker 1: I'm really glad I got to see Tom I'm sad
- 11:54Speaker 1: we didn't go again I know we.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Talked about going again and then time just got away
- 11:58Speaker 2: from us and everything but yeah I was feeling that
- 12:02Speaker 2: same way too and I was like I wonder if
- 12:04Speaker 2: I'm like in the minority thinking that But I think
- 12:07Speaker 2: I'd be okay if I don't see Rupert.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I think too, like Ron is kind of a strange
- 12:13Speaker 1: role in The Cursed Child.
- 12:15Speaker 3: He's such a side character, I think.
- 12:17Speaker 1: He's not on stage very much. So this is kind
- 12:20Speaker 1: of a strange choice to bring back and hype up
- 12:23Speaker 1: somebody playing Ron when he's got like no stage time.
- 12:28Speaker 1: But I mean, it's cool. But it's just, yeah, I'm
- 12:32Speaker 1: okay if I miss it. Yeah, yeah.
- 12:36Speaker 2: But good for Rupert. And I'm excited to see the
- 12:39Speaker 2: pictures and everything, too, of him in the role. And
- 12:45Speaker 2: it's weird, though, because I almost can't see Rupert portraying
- 12:51Speaker 2: the Ron that we have in Cursed Child.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 2: I just, I don't know. We'll see.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Okay, so now all the back to Hogwarts stuff. Um,
- 13:08Speaker 1: so the official Harry Potter podcast will be returning as
- 13:12Speaker 1: a companion podcast for the HBO series. So they really
- 13:18Speaker 1: started to go through all the films and now they're
- 13:20Speaker 1: going to pivot to the TV series, which really makes sense.
- 13:24Speaker 1: This is pretty common. Um, nowadays it seems like every
- 13:29Speaker 1: streaming show has a podcast that goes with it. It
- 13:32Speaker 1: comes out each week after each new episode. So that
- 13:35Speaker 1: makes sense. um lego is also pivoting to release sets
- 13:42Speaker 1: inspired by the hbo series not much information on this
- 13:46Speaker 1: yet but we know that there will be a collection
- 13:50Speaker 1: um to go along with the series i just hope.
- 13:53Speaker 2: They don't stop making other stuff like.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I'm hoping like this is my like.
- 13:58Speaker 2: One fear with this the series coming out is that
- 14:02Speaker 2: Now everything Harry Potter that comes out, merchandise or otherwise,
- 14:07Speaker 2: is just all inspired by the show. And we just
- 14:09Speaker 2: start losing stuff from the movies and designs from the movies.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I'm like a little nervous about that.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I hope not. We also learned that Harry Potter
- 14:22Speaker 1: will be featured in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this year.
- 14:26Speaker 1: which this should be really interesting. I don't know in
- 14:29Speaker 1: what capacity. Is it a balloon? Is it a float?
- 14:32Speaker 1: Is it costumed people marching?
- 14:35Speaker 2: I think it's about time that we have Harry Potter
- 14:40Speaker 2: in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I think that I
- 14:45Speaker 2: could see it being a float more than a balloon.
- 14:54Speaker 3: But I'm also wondering what.
- 14:57Speaker 2: They would do.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It's surprising to me that they haven't been in the
- 15:04Speaker 1: parade before like number one when all the potter mania
- 15:08Speaker 1: was happening seems like that would have been the time
- 15:10Speaker 1: to have something and then number two how long Cursed
- 15:14Speaker 1: Child has been running on Broadway.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I was going to say, they could have done a
- 15:16Speaker 2: Cursed Child, and they could have, I mean, obviously there's no, like,
- 15:20Speaker 2: musical numbers in Cursed Child.
- 15:23Speaker 1: But there's, like, the choreography thing.
- 15:24Speaker 3: The wand dance and stuff. They could have stopped to
- 15:27Speaker 3: do that.
- 15:29Speaker 1: They always have them stop, like, in that spot right
- 15:31Speaker 1: in front of Macy's. They have all the Broadway performances.
- 15:34Speaker 1: So I, yeah, I am surprised that they never did
- 15:37Speaker 1: that with them.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a missed opportunity. It would have been
- 15:41Speaker 2: really cool for them to do that wand dance.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Maybe that's what it is. Maybe Rupert's going to be there.
- 15:47Speaker 2: I don't know. Oh, my God. Well, Ron's not in
- 15:52Speaker 2: that scene.
- 15:52Speaker 1: They're going to make him be in that scene.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Rupert, you can come back, but you have to dance
- 15:58Speaker 2: in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
- 16:01Speaker 1: That was the fine print in the contract. That was
- 16:04Speaker 1: what sealed the deal for him.
- 16:05Speaker 2: He's like, yep, I'm coming back.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I'm there. Wizards of Baking is returning for a third
- 16:15Speaker 1: season so this season is celebrating the 25th anniversary of
- 16:21Speaker 1: the first film and the series is going to feature
- 16:24Speaker 1: challenges for each of the eight films and of course
- 16:28Speaker 1: James and Oliver Phelps are back to host.
- 16:31Speaker 3: I still gotta go back and watch.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Season two I know.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I started it and I didn't finish.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Me too. Which is because I really enjoyed season one.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I watched it every week. And I was rooting for
- 16:42Speaker 2: my favorite little duo team who didn't win in the end.
- 16:45Speaker 2: But it's a really cool show. I don't know why
- 16:48Speaker 2: I keep just forgetting it. But yeah, I feel like
- 16:55Speaker 2: I expected this to be back. I feel like this
- 16:57Speaker 2: is going to be a show that's going to have
- 16:58Speaker 2: lots of seasons.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's popular. People like it. This is kind of
- 17:04Speaker 1: a cool one. So the original Stephen Fry and Jim
- 17:08Speaker 1: Dale narrated audiobooks are available for free without a subscription
- 17:14Speaker 1: needed on Spotify, Audible, Amazon Music, and the official Harry
- 17:18Speaker 1: Potter YouTube channel from now until Halloween.
- 17:23Speaker 2: So I didn't... know that I mean I'm so behind
- 17:27Speaker 2: on this news because like literally obviously I moved like
- 17:29Speaker 2: right when this was happening but I was on YouTube
- 17:33Speaker 2: last night because I actually sleep with a on the
- 17:37Speaker 2: official Harry Potter channels they have like 24 hour Harry
- 17:41Speaker 2: Potter streams and I just put these on at night
- 17:44Speaker 2: and sleep with them on because it won't turn off
- 17:47Speaker 2: because it's on 24 hours and when I was on
- 17:50Speaker 2: YouTube last night I noticed like One of the audio
- 17:54Speaker 2: books there. But I thought it was just someone else
- 17:57Speaker 2: had uploaded it, but it must have been this. Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 3: That's really cool.
- 18:02Speaker 2: They should just make it forever.
- 18:04Speaker 1: They should.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Not until Halloween.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Yeah. So if you're trying to get in your fall
- 18:08Speaker 1: reread and you want to listen, you can do that.
- 18:13Speaker 2: There's not enough time to listen to all the Stephen
- 18:16Speaker 2: Fry versions and all the Jim Dale versions between now
- 18:19Speaker 2: and Halloween, unless you just listen like nonstop.
- 18:29Speaker 1: So we also got a nice little interview clip and
- 18:32Speaker 1: sneak peek of some of the artwork in the Half-Blood
- 18:35Speaker 1: Prince Illustrated Edition, which comes out on October 6th. Several
- 18:42Speaker 1: episodes ago, we talked about the cover of this that
- 18:44Speaker 1: was released. And as previously announced, it's being illustrated by
- 18:50Speaker 1: Levi Pinfold. I know we had like mixed reviews of
- 18:54Speaker 1: the cover.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I liked it.
- 18:56Speaker 1: When we were talking about that, Nicole liked it. I
- 18:58Speaker 1: was not quite persuaded.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I'm watching this video now.
- 19:03Speaker 1: But I will say, I do like the look of
- 19:06Speaker 1: the artwork in the book. Ooh.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Ooh. I'm watching this video as you're speaking that you
- 19:14Speaker 2: linked in the doc because I, again, I'm catching up
- 19:17Speaker 2: on all this back to Hogwarts news live kind of
- 19:19Speaker 2: on this episode while you're getting my live reaction. Well,
- 19:22Speaker 2: it's not live.
- 19:23Speaker 3: It's live for Amy.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Kind of live.
- 19:25Speaker 2: It's a little delayed for everyone listening. Yeah, I.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I really like how... I mean, maybe I'm a little
- 19:34Speaker 2: biased as a Slytherin and this is a very dark
- 19:37Speaker 2: book and everything, but... I mean, I think he's a
- 19:41Speaker 2: great artist.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I wasn't wowed by the cover, but I really
- 19:46Speaker 1: like these pages on the inside that we got to see.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I really like this interpretation of the.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Dark mark a lot.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Yes, there's one in there where it was a nice
- 19:57Speaker 1: silhouette of Hogwarts and stuff. Yeah, it looks really nice.
- 20:03Speaker 1: So the Lego Harry Potter games have been remastered for
- 20:07Speaker 1: Switch 2. And that collection will be released on October
- 20:12Speaker 1: 16th and is available for pre-order. I do love Lego
- 20:17Speaker 1: Harry Potter days so far.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I know. I really need to sit and I bought
- 20:21Speaker 2: it when they remastered it for the Switch in general.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I really need to sit down and go through it again.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I'm glad they are keeping it alive because obviously it's
- 20:31Speaker 2: a game that's complete at this point. So I do
- 20:33Speaker 2: like that they kind of keep remastering it.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It's so fun, and it's just, like, a cozy kind
- 20:38Speaker 1: of thing to play.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to say, it's really nice if
- 20:42Speaker 2: you want, like, just, like, yeah, like, a cozy game
- 20:45Speaker 2: to play, but you don't want to necessarily get into
- 20:48Speaker 2: something like Hogwarts Legacy or if you're not, like, a
- 20:50Speaker 2: really big gamer and just want something that's, like, easier
- 20:54Speaker 2: than something like Hogwarts Legacy, those, like, Harry Potter games
- 20:58Speaker 2: are great. Yeah. And... Shameless plug, if you haven't listened,
- 21:02Speaker 2: you can go back to, don't know what episode it
- 21:05Speaker 2: is off the top of my head, but if you
- 21:06Speaker 2: take a look at our past episodes, we had a
- 21:10Speaker 2: whole episode on Lego Harry Potter when we did our
- 21:13Speaker 2: gaming series.
- 21:15Speaker 1: We did. I can tell you what episode. Episode 38
- 21:20Speaker 1: was our Lego Harry Potter one.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Nice.
- 21:26Speaker 1: So we have some like travel and like experiences kind
- 21:31Speaker 1: of news too. So it was announced during Back to
- 21:35Speaker 1: Hogwarts that a new virtual reality broomstick experience is opening
- 21:40Speaker 1: at the Harry Potter New York store this fall. The
- 21:44Speaker 1: store previously had other VR experiences and this is not
- 21:48Speaker 1: the first flying based one. So I would imagine they're
- 21:52Speaker 1: just kind of utilizing the equipment they already have and
- 21:56Speaker 1: kind of remastering. But it's cool that like it's going
- 22:00Speaker 1: to have a new premise and they're kind of refreshing
- 22:03Speaker 1: it and continuing to keep things new so people can
- 22:07Speaker 1: keep coming back and doing different things rather than just
- 22:10Speaker 1: having the same stuff there. So. And then three new
- 22:16Speaker 1: Harry Potter themed lands are arriving at Warner Brothers World
- 22:21Speaker 1: Abu Dhabi. And as of us recording this episode, they
- 22:26Speaker 1: haven't announced which three lands that is. after this episode
- 22:32Speaker 1: comes out, that will have been announced. So we don't have,
- 22:38Speaker 1: we don't have that info at this time, but just
- 22:40Speaker 1: know that's happening. And if you're curious, you can look
- 22:43Speaker 1: it up and they will have announced. I was going to.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Say, by the time you're listening to this, they will
- 22:48Speaker 2: have announced.
- 22:48Speaker 1: So, um, If you are traveling to Dallas, the Gaylord
- 22:56Speaker 1: Texan Resort in Dallas is going to be hosting an
- 23:00Speaker 1: ice sculpture event that will feature scenes from the Harry
- 23:03Speaker 1: Potter films, including the Hogwarts Express, Forbidden Forest, the Great Hall,
- 23:08Speaker 1: the Quidditch Pitch, and Honeydukes. I believe that is this
- 23:12Speaker 1: winter at some point. We didn't get a ton, just
- 23:17Speaker 1: kind of a little graphic. insight video advertising that. So, um,
- 23:24Speaker 1: that looks cool.
- 23:25Speaker 2: I was going to say, I did see it.
- 23:26Speaker 3: This is the one thing I did see.
- 23:29Speaker 2: And yeah, interesting was not on my bingo card of
- 23:33Speaker 2: something that would happen, but I sculptures in Dallas. I didn't,
- 23:38Speaker 2: you know, not even a cold climate.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:41Speaker 3: I didn't even think of that until you just said that.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Like, couldn't be like Canada or like Minnesota.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Minnesota would have been perfect.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Dallas.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Um, And in 2027, the studio tour in London will
- 23:58Speaker 1: be celebrating house spirit. So the event will encourage fans
- 24:02Speaker 1: to wear their house colors and participate in activities to
- 24:05Speaker 1: earn house points, all while learning behind the scenes secrets
- 24:08Speaker 1: related to the four Hogwarts houses.
- 24:12Speaker 2: That'd be cool.
- 24:15Speaker 1: And speaking of Hogwarts houses, we also got a closer
- 24:19Speaker 1: look at the house press for the HBO series, These
- 24:22Speaker 1: were part of the display that was set up for
- 24:24Speaker 1: Platform 9 ¾ fan experience in London on the 1st.
- 24:30Speaker 1: So we got all four. These are really interesting because.
- 24:35Speaker 3: I was like, I'm so curious to hear what you think.
- 24:39Speaker 1: There's different variations of them. There's like multiple crests and
- 24:45Speaker 1: logos for each house, which is kind of confusing to me, but....
- 24:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I've seen a lot of like discourse of this
- 24:55Speaker 2: online and a lot of like mixed opinions of how
- 24:59Speaker 2: people feel about these. The ones that I saw like
- 25:03Speaker 2: were those ones that are like the circular ones where
- 25:08Speaker 2: they have like all of them have like the tongues out.
- 25:11Speaker 2: So I might be in the minority opinion, but I
- 25:19Speaker 2: really like them. I know that I've seen a lot
- 25:25Speaker 2: of people, like, online talking about, like, why are their
- 25:28Speaker 2: tongues out? But that's actually, like, very typical for, like,
- 25:35Speaker 2: a medieval British kind of design. So I really like
- 25:41Speaker 2: that it kind of plays homage to that. I particularly
- 25:48Speaker 2: really love the Slytherin crest. And I'm really excited to
- 25:53Speaker 2: have that on some kind of merchandise. And also it
- 25:56Speaker 2: kind of like has an elegant look to it, which
- 26:00Speaker 2: I really like. Yes.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I agree.
- 26:04Speaker 1: I like these. I guess I don't fully understand the
- 26:10Speaker 1: strong outpouring of hate towards these because like they were
- 26:15Speaker 1: always going to be different than what we have. Like
- 26:17Speaker 1: if they were the same, that would be kind of
- 26:19Speaker 1: silly and defeat the purpose.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I mean, they're more simple in a way, but we
- 26:24Speaker 2: also have more simple versions of the film ones too.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Like we've got the bigger crest, but then we've got,
- 26:32Speaker 2: I think on some of like the Quidditch stuff, you
- 26:34Speaker 2: have a more pared down, I guess, quote unquote, simple
- 26:38Speaker 2: version of the crest for Quidditch. So maybe that's what
- 26:43Speaker 2: you're seeing too. When you said the different logos, maybe
- 26:46Speaker 2: one of them is like the Quidditch.
- 26:49Speaker 1: That could be. I agree. I like that they kind
- 26:53Speaker 1: of went for that more traditional like heraldry kind of look,
- 26:58Speaker 1: which traditionally the tongues out is usually supposed to like
- 27:01Speaker 1: depict like a roar or like fierceness, which makes sense.
- 27:07Speaker 1: You don't want your crest looking weak. The badger looks
- 27:14Speaker 1: like a fierce badger and I'm like here for it. Like, yes,
- 27:18Speaker 1: I love my cute little fluffy badger. But this is, like,
- 27:22Speaker 1: the duality of the badger's personality.
- 27:26Speaker 2: They don't play. Right.
- 27:28Speaker 1: You really don't want to mess with a badger if
- 27:29Speaker 1: you see it in real life. So I like this.
- 27:33Speaker 2: The only thing I don't like, especially with the Slytherin crest, is, like,
- 27:38Speaker 2: so the banners, they all have, like, different, like, cuts
- 27:43Speaker 2: on the bottom. And I don't like the Slytherin one. It's, like,
- 27:46Speaker 2: two little....
- 27:49Speaker 3: I don't know what to call them. My favorite of
- 27:53Speaker 3: that cut is actually.
- 27:54Speaker 2: The Hufflepuff one that has like almost like the more
- 27:56Speaker 2: typical pennant triangular cut.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Yes.
- 28:01Speaker 2: And I like the Gryffindor one too. That's just the
- 28:03Speaker 2: regular like half moon kind of, if you don't know
- 28:07Speaker 2: what I'm talking about, if you go look at them,
- 28:08Speaker 2: it'll make a lot of sense.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:11Speaker 1: You know, what's interesting that I'm noticing Hufflepuff, in some
- 28:16Speaker 1: of these variations it's holding the cup oh yeah and
- 28:22Speaker 1: then Gryffindor in one of the variations is holding the
- 28:26Speaker 1: sword I'm not seeing.
- 28:28Speaker 2: It's a snake it's not holding anything yeah and there's
- 28:32Speaker 2: no diadem nothing in Ravenclaw too that's really interesting.
- 28:36Speaker 1: But also like in these pictures that we got from
- 28:39Speaker 1: the fan experience on top of the displays there's the
- 28:43Speaker 1: name the house name And on either side of the
- 28:46Speaker 1: house name is a very, very simplified symbol. And each
- 28:52Speaker 1: one is different for each of these houses. And, like,
- 28:57Speaker 1: they vaguely represent the animal mascot.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I feel like the Slytherin one is the most, like,
- 29:06Speaker 2: because obviously a snake is easy to just, it's just
- 29:09Speaker 2: the S.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I wonder what all of these, because, yeah, it looks
- 29:13Speaker 2: like there's at least... three different there's three there's like
- 29:20Speaker 2: three different.
- 29:20Speaker 5: Variations yeah um some of them have four oh yeah
- 29:27Speaker 5: Ravenclaw I think has four yeah I also.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Really like the um how the background of all of
- 29:34Speaker 2: them have the leaves, which I think goes well with
- 29:39Speaker 2: the natural look that they're trying to do. Also, actually,
- 29:45Speaker 2: speaking of that, the long pennant one for Gryffindor has
- 29:50Speaker 2: the sword at the bottom.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:54Speaker 2: But I don't notice for any of the others. The
- 29:59Speaker 2: Hufflepuff almost looks like there's, like, a tree branch at
- 30:02Speaker 2: the bottom. I can't fully tell.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:04Speaker 2: And then Ravenclaw also has that kind of same, like,
- 30:08Speaker 2: tree-ish branch. Slytherin doesn't. Slytherin just has the, like, viney leaves. Yeah, interesting.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Yeah, these are really pretty displays, though.
- 30:19Speaker 2: I want that. Like, I want that Slytherin dependent. I
- 30:22Speaker 2: just don't like the two little noodles at the bottom. Yeah.
- 30:26Speaker 2: I think they all should have been. Actually, I really
- 30:29Speaker 2: like how the Gryffindor one is cut. I think they
- 30:32Speaker 2: all should have been that, like circular.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Huh.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:38Speaker 1: No, I like them. But I don't know. I feel
- 30:43Speaker 1: like sometimes we are in the minority. Hopefully there are
- 30:50Speaker 1: some listeners who like them.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I hope so too.
- 30:53Speaker 2: We just seem to, I don't know. Amy and I
- 30:55Speaker 2: will find fault at some point. We just seem to
- 30:58Speaker 2: really like what we've been seeing.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Here's where I am going to find fault. I don't
- 31:02Speaker 1: love the Hogwarts crest that's on the floor in these pictures.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Oh, I hate it.
- 31:09Speaker 3: With the hog on the top.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Why is there a cartoon hog? I don't know. I
- 31:13Speaker 1: don't like that. Like, get rid of the hog and
- 31:16Speaker 1: the rest of the crest is fine. I don't like
- 31:18Speaker 1: the rest. I don't even like the rest of the crest.
- 31:21Speaker 1: It doesn't really fit with the rest of the styles,
- 31:24Speaker 1: which is confusing to me.
- 31:28Speaker 2: And what even is that crest? We've gotten so many
- 31:30Speaker 2: different Hogwarts crests at this point.
- 31:32Speaker 1: So that's what I was trying to figure out. And
- 31:35Speaker 1: the ones that we saw on the robes, like in
- 31:38Speaker 1: the trailer and stuff, was just this centerpiece with the H.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Didn't it have the tree?
- 31:47Speaker 2: Wasn't that one on the robes, the one with the tree?
- 31:49Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, it did have a tree on the H there. See,
- 31:52Speaker 1: which that I liked.
- 31:54Speaker 3: I didn't at first, but now I do.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Now, like, after hearing them describe, yeah, I don't, this is, like,
- 31:59Speaker 2: a cartoonish thing.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it does not fit the other style, so I
- 32:03Speaker 1: don't know what the deal is with that.
- 32:05Speaker 3: It looks like the hog is, like, on, like, a skateboard.
- 32:08Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 32:10Speaker 6: It does.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I hope that this doesn't i hope that this is
- 32:14Speaker 2: just something for this display and that design does not
- 32:19Speaker 2: make it beyond this no i don't everything else has
- 32:23Speaker 2: looked so elegant and nice and natural and just this
- 32:28Speaker 2: is just it's giving um clip art i don't know.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Yeah and when they're going for this whole like naturalistic
- 32:35Speaker 1: look and like what we've seen on the set so
- 32:38Speaker 1: far and stuff like this doesn't.
- 32:40Speaker 2: It doesn't fit like no we're gonna hope it was
- 32:44Speaker 2: just some weird design they put together for the floor
- 32:47Speaker 2: of this exhibit.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Yeah yeah all right so that's pretty much it for
- 32:57Speaker 1: what we got for news um There were some smaller
- 33:01Speaker 1: things announced like Snapchat filters and things like that. Didn't
- 33:04Speaker 1: think we needed to go into detail on those.
- 33:06Speaker 2: No, I think we get those like every year.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Yeah. But yeah, obviously the other big thing is the trailer,
- 33:14Speaker 1: which we're going to talk about. Want more Revelio?

- 33:35Speaker 4: slash reveliopodcast.
- 33:41Speaker 2: So.
- 33:42Speaker 1: The trailer, I thought this was kind of an odd rollout,
- 33:45Speaker 1: not gonna lie, that they announced that there would be
- 33:49Speaker 1: a trailer on Back to Hogwarts Day.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Just drop the trailer.
- 33:52Speaker 1: But didn't release the trailer till the next day. Just
- 33:55Speaker 1: drop the trailer on Back to Hogwarts Day.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Do you think that it was, like, done strategically so
- 34:01Speaker 3: that they.
- 34:02Speaker 2: the trailer wouldn't necessarily, I mean, I think doing it
- 34:05Speaker 2: the next day, it still may be overshadows, but like,
- 34:07Speaker 2: so that they could kind of roll out all this
- 34:09Speaker 2: other stuff too, and kind of keep it separate.
- 34:15Speaker 1: I honestly, I thought a lot of this year's back
- 34:18Speaker 1: to Hogwarts was kind of strange. Like why didn't they
- 34:21Speaker 1: announce Rupert's run on Broadway on back to Hogwarts day,
- 34:26Speaker 1: rather than having the tickets go on sale on back
- 34:28Speaker 1: to Hogwarts day. Cause then you had people like, not
- 34:32Speaker 1: watching the live stream of Back to Hogwarts, but instead
- 34:36Speaker 1: in the queue trying to get tickets for Cursed Child.
- 34:38Speaker 1: It was just a weird, like, I don't know. They
- 34:41Speaker 1: didn't think that out.
- 34:44Speaker 2: No, I feel like they're, it's, Because I think it's
- 34:47Speaker 2: like they want to do this event every year, but
- 34:50Speaker 2: there's not going to necessarily be these like big, huge
- 34:53Speaker 2: announcements to do every single year. So it's kind of like,
- 34:57Speaker 2: what can we do that has that hype on the day?
- 35:01Speaker 2: And I guess like a ticket sale is something that's
- 35:04Speaker 2: super hyped, but I agree. I think it would have
- 35:07Speaker 2: made more sense to just announce it on Back to
- 35:09Speaker 2: Hogwarts Day and have the ticket sale be like the following,
- 35:14Speaker 2: like a few days later or something. Yeah.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Yeah, because those would have been your two big announcements,
- 35:19Speaker 1: the trailer and Rupert Grint.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Right.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I don't know. Kind of weird. But anyway, we got
- 35:26Speaker 1: the trailer. So before we jump into scene by scene,
- 35:31Speaker 1: what was your first impression of this trailer?
- 35:36Speaker 3: I liked it and I teared up, just like I
- 35:40Speaker 3: did the first trailer.
- 35:41Speaker 2: And.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I know that they're like, again, I think with everything
- 35:47Speaker 2: with the show, I have seen like a lot of
- 35:49Speaker 2: like criticisms online about the trailer. I have watched a
- 35:53Speaker 2: couple like, like comparator scenes of things. I will say that,
- 36:00Speaker 2: and this is, I guess I'll bring this up now
- 36:02Speaker 2: because it's more like a overall of the trailer than
- 36:05Speaker 2: an individual scene. I am not, I guess I'm not
- 36:11Speaker 2: entirely sure that, how I feel about the color gradient
- 36:17Speaker 2: that they're going for.
- 36:20Speaker 3: I don't hate it because I do like.
- 36:22Speaker 2: A darker gradient in a show.
- 36:26Speaker 3: It's also very, like, to me, it seems kind of, like,
- 36:28Speaker 3: very HBO-like.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:30Speaker 2: But at the same time, like, the first couple seasons
- 36:32Speaker 2: of Game of Thrones were very colorful. And then they
- 36:35Speaker 2: got darker. I just feel like right now it's, like,
- 36:38Speaker 2: a trend to do this, like, darker gradient. And I
- 36:41Speaker 2: think I didn't realize how much I wasn't sure about
- 36:44Speaker 2: it until I was watching these, like, scene-by-scene comparators with
- 36:49Speaker 2: the first film. And I was like, wow, I kind
- 36:51Speaker 2: of miss that brightness and the colors. Yeah. So that's
- 36:55Speaker 2: like kind of my biggest critique, but it's still a
- 37:00Speaker 2: minor issue for me. Like I'm not like, oh, I
- 37:02Speaker 2: hate the color gradient.
- 37:03Speaker 1: I don't. Right.
- 37:05Speaker 2: I'm just wondering how they're going to progress through the
- 37:07Speaker 2: series because obviously our movies got the color gradient got
- 37:12Speaker 2: darker as the series went on. And I thought it
- 37:14Speaker 2: was very thematic and went with the theme. But if
- 37:16Speaker 2: we're starting out really dark and moody, we're just probably
- 37:21Speaker 2: going to remain dark and moody the whole time.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:26Speaker 2: So that was my only like thing that kind of
- 37:28Speaker 2: stood out, but I shouldn't have been surprised because it
- 37:31Speaker 2: matches the first trailer. And I don't think I called
- 37:33Speaker 2: that out with the first trailer, but I think cause
- 37:36Speaker 2: that first trailer was like darker. And then now this
- 37:40Speaker 2: trailer is more at Hogwarts. So maybe I just like
- 37:42Speaker 2: noticed it more.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Fair enough. Yeah.
- 37:47Speaker 2: But I liked it. What about you?
- 37:49Speaker 1: I liked it, too. I think the thing that stood
- 37:52Speaker 1: out for me the most was the kids. I thought, like,
- 37:58Speaker 1: watching this trailer, I was like, wow, they really nailed
- 38:01Speaker 1: this casting. Like, these kids are great.
- 38:04Speaker 2: We'll talk about it more later, but I already am
- 38:06Speaker 2: obsessed with Seamus.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 38:08Speaker 2: I am obsessed.
- 38:09Speaker 1: So cute.
- 38:10Speaker 2: He's so cute. So cute. We'll talk about that when
- 38:14Speaker 2: we get to the scene, but he was, he stood
- 38:16Speaker 2: out to me in this whole trailer was the little
- 38:18Speaker 2: boy who was playing Seamus.
- 38:19Speaker 1: So I think like, even not just the kids, like
- 38:23Speaker 1: I think just the actors in general, I feel like
- 38:26Speaker 1: in this trailer, we got more of the characters than
- 38:31Speaker 1: we did in the first trailer. And everything I saw,
- 38:35Speaker 1: I was very convinced. So that made me feel really good.
- 38:39Speaker 4: Um, Yeah, same.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Like, a lot of the scenes are super, super dark.
- 38:44Speaker 1: When I was going through trying to pause this and
- 38:46Speaker 1: see stuff, I was like, ooh.
- 38:48Speaker 2: I feel like when I watch this, I'm going to
- 38:49Speaker 2: have to, like, turn the brightness up on my TV.
- 38:51Speaker 2: And that wouldn't be the first time I've had to
- 38:54Speaker 2: do that with an HBO show. And I'm just like,
- 38:56Speaker 2: I can't. I'm like, by the time we get to, like,
- 38:58Speaker 2: Half-Blood Prince, it's going to just be dark. It's going
- 39:02Speaker 2: to be.
- 39:02Speaker 6: Like a black screen with a little candle.
- 39:04Speaker 1: I'm like, oh.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Oh, gosh.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Yeah. But no, I was impressed with the trailer, I
- 39:11Speaker 1: will say. And I know that's not the overall sentiment, but.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:18Speaker 1: What can I say? I am who I am.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Well, that's what I was going to say. I think
- 39:23Speaker 2: that we've obviously, like you and I, have been like
- 39:26Speaker 2: overwhelmingly like positive about everything that's come out with the show.
- 39:29Speaker 2: And I think like, we're going to have critiques guys,
- 39:32Speaker 2: but like, like, but I just, I don't know.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Maybe I'm just easy to please. I don't know.
- 39:39Speaker 1: I liked it. Yeah. I feel like my critiques will
- 39:42Speaker 1: come like when the actual episodes come out because I can't,
- 39:48Speaker 1: really fully critique something that I haven't seen and experienced yet.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Right, we're seeing a couple second clips here.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Yeah. And that's just it. I mean, they're literally also
- 40:00Speaker 2: calling this a teaser trailer. Both trailers that have come out,
- 40:04Speaker 2: they're calling a teaser trailer. So I'm like, are we
- 40:07Speaker 2: actually ever going to get what they just call a trailer?
- 40:10Speaker 2: Or are they just going to call everything a teaser trailer?
- 40:13Speaker 2: Because this seems like a trailer trailer to me. The
- 40:18Speaker 2: first one seemed like a trailer trailer to me, not
- 40:21Speaker 2: a teaser.
- 40:22Speaker 1: A teaser trailer is usually like 30 to 45 seconds.
- 40:26Speaker 2: 20 to 30 seconds.
- 40:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Quick, quick, usually quick clips.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Sometimes very little dialogue.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Right. This is two minutes and 37 seconds. This is
- 40:36Speaker 1: a full trailer. Okay. Well, let's start going through this here. Okay. Okay.
- 40:47Speaker 1: So we open immediately on I'm guessing that's Hogsmeade Station.
- 40:58Speaker 1: It looks really good. It looks like Hogsmeade Station.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I gotta say, when you pause it, it gets real dark.
- 41:04Speaker 1: It does.
- 41:05Speaker 2: You realize how dark it really is.
- 41:08Speaker 4: It looks good.
- 41:09Speaker 2: It looks like we've got probably Hagrid there.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Waiting for the train to pull up and Yeah, it
- 41:16Speaker 2: looks like Hogsmeade Station. I think, and we've seen this before,
- 41:19Speaker 2: because I remember all those candles on the building. I
- 41:21Speaker 2: think we talked about that. We've gotten a look at this.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so we go from the Hogwarts Express arriving straight
- 41:29Speaker 1: into the Great Hall. And we're getting kind of a
- 41:32Speaker 1: little voiceover from McGonagall. I think she sounds great. She does.
- 41:39Speaker 1: The Great Hall looks great.
- 41:41Speaker 2: I love the doors. I don't know if you paused
- 41:43Speaker 2: to look at the doors and it's got the crest.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:46Speaker 2: With the houses built into it.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Yeah, really pretty. The floating candles, they look good.
- 41:54Speaker 2: I will say the one thing about, because I saw
- 41:56Speaker 2: a lot online, people were like, where's the floating candles?
- 41:58Speaker 2: Where's the floating candles? And then I rewatched the trailer again,
- 42:01Speaker 2: and I'm like, they're right there. That's the first thing
- 42:03Speaker 2: I noticed. But I wonder if they're talking about, like, yeah,
- 42:05Speaker 2: I did too. But I, and as we go through
- 42:08Speaker 2: a little bit, I wonder if it's because, and this
- 42:10Speaker 2: could just be a mistake in the trailer.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:14Speaker 2: But as we're in the Great Hall more and they
- 42:16Speaker 2: pan around some scenes more, you actually really can't see them.
- 42:21Speaker 2: So I'm wondering if people were seeing those stills and
- 42:24Speaker 2: not just this first one. So I'm wondering if they
- 42:29Speaker 2: forgot to add them in in the scene that's in
- 42:32Speaker 2: the trailer. Because I've seen that before where trailers have
- 42:35Speaker 2: a scene that's not fully finished, but... You'll see it
- 42:39Speaker 2: kind of later on where it's like, why can't we
- 42:41Speaker 2: see them? But it also could be the camera angle
- 42:44Speaker 2: that's just not showing high enough up. But they're there.
- 42:48Speaker 2: I just have been seeing a lot online where people
- 42:50Speaker 2: are like, where are the candles? That's quintessential to the
- 42:52Speaker 2: Great Hall. Like four seconds or what am I at?
- 42:56Speaker 2: Six seconds into the trailer is a really good shot
- 42:58Speaker 2: of them.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Yeah. This is one of the sets that does look
- 43:04Speaker 1: very similar to.
- 43:06Speaker 2: The movie set. I think it was always going to.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Right, but it kind of has to, right? This is
- 43:10Speaker 1: the Great Hall. Like, you need it to be recognizable.
- 43:14Speaker 1: You've got the big window straight ahead. You've got the
- 43:18Speaker 1: tables lining both sides. Like, it is the Great Hall.
- 43:24Speaker 1: But it's still different.
- 43:25Speaker 2: It's still, like, its own. It's not a one-to-one carbon copy, but.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Right, right. So then as we move forward a little
- 43:37Speaker 1: bit here.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Can I just say I love McGonagall's hat.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Yes. She looks great. I'm loving McGonagall. Me too. So
- 43:46Speaker 1: we get her leading the first years into the hall.
- 43:49Speaker 1: She's explaining the sorting ceremony. I, yeah, I love her costume.
- 43:59Speaker 2: I really love the, I paused at like, 11 seconds
- 44:03Speaker 2: and you can get a good view of the, um,
- 44:07Speaker 2: they're not, I don't really know what to call them. The,
- 44:09Speaker 2: it's the Hogwarts animals holding these flame.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Bowls that are there. I don't know what to call
- 44:17Speaker 2: them that are like lining, but they, I really like
- 44:20Speaker 2: that little detail too.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Yes. We see the floating candles in that shot too.
- 44:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:25Speaker 2: They're right there. Yeah.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I do really like how they did this, you know,
- 44:31Speaker 2: as she's kind of, like, introducing everybody, and then it
- 44:35Speaker 2: cuts to, like, obviously they just do the main trio,
- 44:38Speaker 2: but it cuts to them. I do like just that
- 44:41Speaker 2: splicing in the trailer in that way. And I do like,
- 44:45Speaker 2: in the movie, and I'm already forgetting, in the movies,
- 44:49Speaker 2: they don't.
- 44:51Speaker 3: Do it right. Don't they.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Because in the book, they call them up last name,
- 44:57Speaker 2: first name. But I feel like in the movie, it
- 45:01Speaker 2: was the opposite. Am I remembering that wrong? I think
- 45:05Speaker 2: they do.
- 45:06Speaker 1: I think they say Harry Potter, not Potter Harry.
- 45:08Speaker 2: And I like it the other way. Again, it's like
- 45:11Speaker 2: a book detail.
- 45:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Yeah. No, like you said, I really love how we're
- 45:17Speaker 1: getting McGonagall kind of talking about each character name. And
- 45:22Speaker 1: then we're seeing them in these moments specific to their
- 45:27Speaker 1: character like first we get Hermione on Hogwarts Express clearly
- 45:34Speaker 1: trying to make friends and it's not going well she
- 45:38Speaker 1: looks great and sounds great I love her she says
- 45:44Speaker 1: did you love the summer reading.
- 45:45Speaker 2: And one of the girls says there was summer reading.
- 45:50Speaker 1: And she just looks so disappointed like oh no I would.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Have done the summer reading, Hermione. Not that there wasn't
- 45:57Speaker 2: summer reading, but.
- 46:00Speaker 3: She's like, I already read all the textbooks.
- 46:02Speaker 2: What do you mean you didn't read the textbooks?
- 46:07Speaker 1: Oh, and then we cut to Ron. And of course,
- 46:12Speaker 1: he's at the breakfast table.
- 46:16Speaker 2: We get a good look at the Hogwarts letter. Yes.
- 46:19Speaker 1: With the green ink. we've got the twins there and
- 46:25Speaker 1: Percy I think they all look great too Molly of
- 46:30Speaker 1: course yeah I think.
- 46:33Speaker 2: The burrow looks great I think they all look great
- 46:36Speaker 2: obviously got Fred and George joking around.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Yeah I love how that looks the burrow looks like
- 46:45Speaker 1: the burrow too it's different but not like ridiculously different
- 46:51Speaker 1: you know.
- 46:51Speaker 2: It's different but familiar everything just looks familiar and like.
- 46:56Speaker 1: We're back exactly and then we cut back to McGonagall
- 47:03Speaker 1: with Potter Harry we get a super dramatic look at
- 47:07Speaker 1: Dumbledore we.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Get a really good look at Quirrell there too looking
- 47:12Speaker 2: right over and yeah everybody kind of perks up a
- 47:15Speaker 2: little bit when they say Harry's name and I do
- 47:18Speaker 2: want to say too with this, like we'll talk, maybe
- 47:22Speaker 2: we'll talk a little bit more about Coral when we
- 47:23Speaker 2: get his more, his shot here. I think John Lithgow
- 47:28Speaker 2: looks really great.
- 47:29Speaker 1: He does.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Like the beard. I really love the beard.
- 47:34Speaker 3: It's got some layered texture to it.
- 47:36Speaker 1: He sounds good, too.
- 47:38Speaker 2: He sounds good.
- 47:39Speaker 3: I was nervous about this.
- 47:40Speaker 1: I didn't know what to expect.
- 47:42Speaker 2: He very much, very convincingly portrays an old British man.
- 47:49Speaker 1: He was giving me major Richard Harris vibes in this trailer.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Yes.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Yes.
- 47:57Speaker 2: I'm a little, I'm a little nervous that we're going
- 48:00Speaker 2: to end up running into a situation where at some
- 48:03Speaker 2: point in the series, they will need to recast Dumbledore
- 48:06Speaker 2: because John Lithgow is, I mean, but he doesn't, he
- 48:10Speaker 2: looks great for his age, but like he obviously, right.
- 48:13Speaker 2: He's been talking a lot about his age and where
- 48:16Speaker 2: he'll be and everything. And I think it's, again, we
- 48:18Speaker 2: know that the role of Dumbledore as the, as the
- 48:21Speaker 2: books progress becomes a little bit more, um, like physical
- 48:25Speaker 2: in nature, but I really hope that we can like
- 48:28Speaker 2: actually have him as Dumbledore for as much of the series,
- 48:32Speaker 2: if not all of it. Cause I think he's going
- 48:34Speaker 2: to do really, I know a lot of people were doubtful,
- 48:38Speaker 2: but I hope this trailer, maybe I'm a believer.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:42Speaker 2: This trailer made me a believer for sure I mean
- 48:45Speaker 2: I think it's one thing to see them in costume
- 48:47Speaker 2: but yeah it really is different to hear them yeah
- 48:50Speaker 2: talking and also just and we obviously will we'll talk
- 48:53Speaker 2: about it more as we go through later but we
- 48:55Speaker 2: actually get scenes of them even if it's a little
- 48:58Speaker 2: clip of them acting and I mean it was enough
- 49:00Speaker 2: to convince me um yeah No, he looks great.
- 49:07Speaker 1: So then we get this close-up shot of the sorting hat,
- 49:11Speaker 1: which this is so dark. I can't really see the
- 49:15Speaker 1: details of the.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Sorting hat, but it's there. and I paused and I
- 49:19Speaker 2: actually didn't realize because I didn't watch this with subtitles
- 49:21Speaker 2: originally so the voiceover that we get here is Lavender
- 49:25Speaker 2: Brown I was trying.
- 49:28Speaker 1: To figure out who that girl was.
- 49:30Speaker 3: So the subtitles say it's Lavender Brown.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Okay see because I was like that's a Hermione line
- 49:36Speaker 1: but we're not seeing Hermione who is this random child And.
- 49:40Speaker 2: I guess I'm going to trust it because it's the
- 49:42Speaker 2: subtitle on the official Harry Potter account. This is why
- 49:46Speaker 2: sometimes I actually really love watching stuff with subtitles because
- 49:48Speaker 2: it'll say stuff like that.
- 49:49Speaker 3: And you're like, oh, which, but I was wondering the
- 49:53Speaker 3: same thing too.
- 49:53Speaker 2: I'm like, who is this talking?
- 49:56Speaker 1: I like that though. Cause that means they're giving other
- 49:58Speaker 1: characters lines. Right. Like I, yeah, that's good.
- 50:03Speaker 2: And we're getting them a little bit more before they
- 50:05Speaker 2: become more relevant later on.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Yes. Yeah. So Lavender, the subtitles are to believed, is saying,
- 50:17Speaker 1: you know, the house we're sorted in basically decides our
- 50:20Speaker 1: entire future. Looks like she's saying this to Harry and
- 50:26Speaker 1: I don't know who else that is there.
- 50:33Speaker 2: I don't know. It might just be a random. Well,
- 50:35Speaker 2: looks like Harry's behind her. Yeah.
- 50:37Speaker 3: And then she's kind of talking to maybe two random students.
- 50:42Speaker 2: I wonder if those are the Patel twins. I was
- 50:44Speaker 2: actually just wondering that too. Right, and then you got
- 50:48Speaker 2: Harry looking over the shoulder like, what?
- 50:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:50Speaker 2: My entire future is about to be determined. Harry, your
- 50:54Speaker 2: whole future is already determined. Okay.
- 50:57Speaker 1: This is nothing. Lavender's super cute, too.
- 51:00Speaker 2: She's so cute. I love the kid casting in this show.
- 51:04Speaker 1: And this just makes me happy that we're going to
- 51:06Speaker 1: get to see them, like, as they grow up because, like,
- 51:11Speaker 1: we just kind of get dumped into Lavender when she's
- 51:14Speaker 1: obsessed with Ron. We don't get to see, like, cute
- 51:18Speaker 1: little lavender growing up like you just kind of see
- 51:21Speaker 1: her in her most annoying state right which is so unfair.
- 51:27Speaker 2: To her that and then we see her dead on
- 51:31Speaker 2: the whole debate you know is she a werewolf now
- 51:33Speaker 2: or is she dead like it's just yeah yeah aww I.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Love it um so then we get the shot and
- 51:40Speaker 1: it's this nice close up of like the side of
- 51:42Speaker 1: Harry's eye and his glasses and he's obviously got the
- 51:45Speaker 1: hat on so he's saying not Slytherin, not Slytherin. And
- 51:51Speaker 1: then obviously the hat yells Gryffindor and everybody cheers.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Yay.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:56Speaker 2: And you got Dumbledore in the back, like very intently,
- 52:00Speaker 2: like staring, like, where is he going to be placed?
- 52:02Speaker 2: Where is he going to be placed? And then we've
- 52:04Speaker 2: got some other professors in the right side, but we don't,
- 52:08Speaker 2: I don't know who they are.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:13Speaker 2: And then you see like Dumbledore gives kind of like
- 52:16Speaker 2: a very subtle like sigh of relief as the hat
- 52:20Speaker 2: says Gryffindor. And then we get our first little look
- 52:25Speaker 2: of Seamus. This kid is so cute. I love him.
- 52:30Speaker 1: He's so super cute.
- 52:32Speaker 2: So cute.
- 52:33Speaker 1: So we've got Seamus, we've got Ron, we've got Hermione,
- 52:36Speaker 1: we've got Lavender. Yeah, I love it.
- 52:40Speaker 2: And then we get a shot of the older kids
- 52:43Speaker 2: getting up and cheering.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Yeah, we've got the Weasleys.
- 52:48Speaker 2: It looks like maybe we've got Dean Thomas.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Is that Lee Jordan?
- 52:52Speaker 2: Or Lee Jordan. Yeah, that's who I meant. With the dreads.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Love it. Oh, we can see our... house pennant banners
- 53:03Speaker 1: in the background of that shot too.
- 53:05Speaker 2: See, I do actually really like the, I would, they
- 53:07Speaker 2: should have all been like one of those two. Those
- 53:09Speaker 2: are my two favorites. The Griffith and the Hufflepuff. Yeah.
- 53:12Speaker 2: How they look on the bottom. They got those two
- 53:14Speaker 2: and then they got the two noodley ones together. Ravenclaw
- 53:17Speaker 2: and Slytherin.
- 53:20Speaker 6: They are.
- 53:20Speaker 3: It's going to be like Taylor Swift, like the noodle dress.
- 53:22Speaker 3: These pennants are going to be.
- 53:24Speaker 2: The new noodles.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Noodle pennants.
- 53:27Speaker 2: The noodle pennants.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Tell me I'm wrong though.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Like noodles.
- 53:32Speaker 1: And then we get this super cute shot of Harry
- 53:34Speaker 1: taking off the hat.
- 53:36Speaker 2: And looks so proud to be in Gryffindor.
- 53:38Speaker 6: So happy.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Look at the curls on Dumbledore's, like, he's got some, like,
- 53:44Speaker 2: he went and took, like, a Dyson.
- 53:49Speaker 3: To his beard.
- 53:50Speaker 2: I really like it. I like that it's not just straight.
- 53:53Speaker 1: Yes.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Like, I like that it's, like, I wish my hair
- 53:56Speaker 2: would curl like that.
- 53:58Speaker 1: I like his jumpy little hat, too, like, tilted to
- 54:00Speaker 1: the side.
- 54:01Speaker 2: Uh-huh. Oh, and then is that his hand with the rings?
- 54:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:07Speaker 2: He's got some jewelry. He does.
- 54:10Speaker 1: So I just turned my brightness all the way up.
- 54:13Speaker 2: That's a good call.
- 54:15Speaker 1: His robes are very colorful. You would never know.
- 54:21Speaker 2: I well and I think that that was something I
- 54:23Speaker 2: feel like when we saw pictures that maybe I saw
- 54:26Speaker 2: like that coming out a little bit that was like
- 54:29Speaker 2: isn't he supposed to be really colorful but it's really
- 54:31Speaker 2: dark but there is actually a lot of color in
- 54:34Speaker 2: that robe yeah.
- 54:35Speaker 1: So like the outer robe is like a blue color
- 54:39Speaker 1: like a bluey purple yeah and it almost looks like
- 54:42Speaker 1: it has like sparkles and beading on the sleeves and
- 54:46Speaker 1: then underneath it's like he's wearing a maroon waistcoat.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Yeah, there's some gold too, like in the inside of
- 54:54Speaker 2: the sleeve of the robe.
- 54:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I like that.
- 55:02Speaker 2: It looks like if it was in like the light
- 55:04Speaker 2: or the sun, it would like sparkle.
- 55:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:06Speaker 2: Or have like a sheen to it.
- 55:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 55:10Speaker 2: No, I think he looks great. He looks like Dumbledore.
- 55:13Speaker 1: He does.
- 55:15Speaker 2: He sounds like Dumbledore. Yeah.
- 55:17Speaker 1: He snaps his fingers and all the food starts appearing
- 55:20Speaker 1: on the table, which I love that we see this.
- 55:23Speaker 1: This is so cute. It's like hopping onto the table.
- 55:26Speaker 2: You know, the kids are like, I mean, I would
- 55:30Speaker 2: look like that too if all this food like appeared
- 55:32Speaker 2: in front of me too. I saw something that was.
- 55:37Speaker 2: It kind of made me chuckle. There was a thing
- 55:39Speaker 2: online that said inflation also hits the Wizarding World. And
- 55:43Speaker 2: it was showing how the food and like the films,
- 55:46Speaker 2: there was just so much of it. And then there's
- 55:48Speaker 2: like less of it in the TV show. That made
- 55:51Speaker 2: me laugh a little.
- 55:54Speaker 1: Oh, so in this shot, when we kind of get
- 55:57Speaker 1: to the end of the table as the food's popping up,
- 56:00Speaker 1: We get a really good view of the back wall,
- 56:03Speaker 1: and you can see it looks like the hourglasses for
- 56:06Speaker 1: the house plates are up there.
- 56:07Speaker 2: And they're, like, glowing. They're the brightest thing in the trailer.
- 56:10Speaker 2: It is.
- 56:11Speaker 1: It's like a beacon.
- 56:14Speaker 2: Yep, next to those noodle banners.
- 56:16Speaker 1: So we've got the long pennant banners on either side,
- 56:20Speaker 1: and then it looks like underneath the hourglasses, there's smaller
- 56:25Speaker 1: house symbols.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Oh, are those the other ones that we saw, though?
- 56:29Speaker 2: They almost look like that other bent, like the one
- 56:31Speaker 2: that I said might be like the Quidditch crest.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:35Speaker 2: It's hard because it's a little blurry, but I feel
- 56:37Speaker 2: like it's that other, one of those other crests that
- 56:42Speaker 2: we saw.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so. All right. And then our next
- 56:46Speaker 1: shot is outside. This looks like the flying lesson. They're
- 56:51Speaker 1: all standing like in a circle. They've definitely got brooms
- 56:56Speaker 1: next to them.
- 56:59Speaker 2: And then we get my favorite shot of the whole trailer.
- 57:01Speaker 3: Big day, lads. How we feeling? He's so cute.
- 57:07Speaker 2: Oh, my goodness.
- 57:08Speaker 1: His pajamas.
- 57:10Speaker 2: So, just love it.
- 57:12Speaker 1: His pajama top has, like, a Quidditch goal on it. Yep.
- 57:16Speaker 1: That's so funny. Oh, yeah.
- 57:17Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. And it looks like the Quaffle, like, going
- 57:20Speaker 2: through it with, like, lines, like, showing that it's going through.
- 57:24Speaker 2: That's super cute.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Aw. Cute. And then we've got Neville snoring with Trevor
- 57:34Speaker 1: the Toad sleeping on top of his pillow.
- 57:37Speaker 2: Yep.
- 57:42Speaker 1: We get a shot of Harry and we hear somebody
- 57:46Speaker 1: saying Mr. Potter. Is that, who is that?
- 57:51Speaker 2: McGonagall.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Right, saying I expect you to work hard. I don't
- 57:55Speaker 2: have my phone on, but I think that was the... Oh, yeah.
- 57:58Speaker 2: And then they're in the office. Yes. Yes.
- 58:02Speaker 1: So her costume as well, I really like.
- 58:07Speaker 2: I really like her glasses, too.
- 58:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:11Speaker 2: She's got some fancy rings, too. They all have these
- 58:14Speaker 2: big jeweled rings.
- 58:17Speaker 1: I like the look of her office, too.
- 58:20Speaker 2: Yeah, let me go back. I want to.
- 58:23Speaker 1: I mean, I think.
- 58:24Speaker 2: It fits her.
- 58:24Speaker 1: I can picture the Havabiscuit Potter happening right here. Mm-hmm. Okay,
- 58:31Speaker 1: so then the next thing we get is back in
- 58:33Speaker 1: the Great Hall and it's owl post because we see
- 58:36Speaker 1: a couple letters drop down in front of Ron and Harry.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, because there's those crests there, the tree.
- 58:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Then we get a shot of, looks like the
- 58:51Speaker 1: class schedule. So let's see, what does he have?
- 58:56Speaker 2: He has... History of magic, charms, transfiguration, potions, sporting, what
- 59:04Speaker 2: does that say? Sporting something? Free time. Clubs and extracurriculars. Flying.
- 59:15Speaker 2: Defense against the dark arts. I don't know why that
- 59:19Speaker 2: one looks like it says James.
- 59:22Speaker 3: But that doesn't make sense.
- 59:23Speaker 2: Library. Oh, games. Games. Oh, okay.
- 59:27Speaker 4: Games.
- 59:27Speaker 3: Okay, library.
- 59:28Speaker 2: Library. Herbology. Yeah, I don't know what that says. What
- 59:33Speaker 2: is it? Sporting fixtures. That's what it looks like.
- 59:37Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 59:39Speaker 2: Okay, I kind of, let me see. I made it
- 59:42Speaker 2: go a little bit further and you can see it
- 59:44Speaker 2: a little bit. Okay, now I can see astronomy. Prep.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Call semester curriculum.
- 59:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's just the one that's sporting. fixtures, textures. I
- 59:59Speaker 2: just don't know what that means.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't tell.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: And there's that logo again, too, that you mentioned earlier,
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: like on either side of where it says Gryffindor.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: So then we move into the greenhouse. And they're all
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: in their little yellow uniforms. For her apology, they're smocks. Yeah.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: I don't know what these plants are that they're pulling out.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Yeah, something we've never seen before.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: But we see Lavender and who's next are her.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: Isn't that the, is that the actor that's Neville?
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: I have to go back and look at the picture
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: of the casting announcement.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: I think it might be. Let me see.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Neville TV show.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: And then we see Seamus, and that's probably Dean with Seamus.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. That might be him looking at a picture.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: I think that's Neville.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: That makes sense.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Yep. Oh, my God. Seamus. Seamus is so short. He's
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: so short. You notice it, too, when you get that
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: first shot of them all in there. And he just
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: looks so short. And as me, someone who's also really short,
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: I'm just like, yes.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: I love him.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: I paused it, like, as he's, like, catching whatever they're throwing.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: And just his face, like, he's just.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: He's perfect. I could just see him blowing things up
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: and catching things.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: On fire and just being a nice little comic relief
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: that Seamus is.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: And if that is Dean, that's, like, so cute. Their, like,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: height difference and stuff.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: Aw. And then we go back to them at the
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: table at breakfast.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Yes. so that whole voiceover is talking about like working
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: hard and making solid friendships yada yada um so we
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: have the three of them eating breakfast and then we
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: see a pillow fight happening in Gryffindor Tower.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: I had the in the um I really like I
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: just paused it to kind of see like their decorations
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: yeah and it looks like there's a sign that says
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: West Ham are massive um Which I'm assuming is referencing, like,
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: a Quidditch team. There's, like, a car. It looks like
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: a fancy car, like a red sports car.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Underneath the car, is that Dean's soccer team poster?
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: I think so. Yeah, that's what it looks like.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: It looks like a team poster.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: And there's, like, a pennant, too, that's probably a sport pennant.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Maybe it's the Chudwick Yankees, because it looks like it's orange.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Oh, maybe, and it's yellow. Yeah. Or orangey-yellow. Mm-hmm. Okay.
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: Cute little moment between Harry and Ron.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: And then we are in the transfiguration classroom. Which, I
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: like this. This looks like a conventional classroom. Like it's
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: not anything crazy. Got some posters on the walls. They're
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: trying to transfigure their matchsticks.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Harry's struggling.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: Um, so Harry's saying everybody thinks I'm this great wizard,
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: but I don't really know anything. Obviously, Harry, you are
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: a first year student.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: His hair looks appropriately a mess and like it's all
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: chopped and cut weird. Uh-huh.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: And we can kind of see better the H, the
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Hogwarts crest on their robes in these shots as well.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Which, this is the one that I like. This is
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: the one with, like, the tree roots.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: Right. I did not like this one at first. Until they, like,
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: explained the natural thing. And then I was like, okay.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: The only thing I don't like about this one or
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: those ones is that I wish that the colors coordinated
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: with the house. I feel like we remember with that
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: first trailer when we saw, like, Draco, it was still
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: this maroon. And I feel like they should coordinate with
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: all the houses.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: Maybe we're wrong.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: Maybe we'll see and they do.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: But I feel like when we saw that shot of
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: Draco Crabbe and Goyle, it looked like the maroon background.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: And then we get another shot in the Great Hall.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: This is bright.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: This is very bright.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: I don't think the whole, I don't think every shot
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: is going to have that blue dark gradient, as this
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: shot literally proves.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: Oh, no, it looks like you can see that the
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: back window, the stained glass. I see a badger on
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: the bottom.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: This has to be before a Quidditch match because they're
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: all wearing coats like they're about to go outside.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: They're also kind of like pounding on the table. So
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: maybe they're like getting amped up and cheering. So then
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: we get to the Quidditch pitch.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: Oh, they've got paint on their face too. So 100%,
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: this is before the.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: And then we get our first sounds of Severus.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: The voiceover here is from Snape.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: He sounds good.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: I think he sounds real good.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: So we're seeing kind of like a montage of like
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: this kind of cool shot of them walking underneath. the
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: stands and then we've got Ron and Hermione in the
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: stands we've got the Gryffindors in their locker room I.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Just want to comment on that I love that Hermione
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: has this really big 90s style scrunchie in her hair
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: and someone who grew.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: Up in the 90s I noticed it right away and
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: I was like yes girl love.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: It I love these lines from Snape it's so Snape
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: like Oh, yeah. Let's hope you show some talent on
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: the Quidditch pitch, Potter. You've certainly not exhibited any in here.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: Also, sorry to go back. When we see Ron and
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: Hermione up in the stands, I feel like this is
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: the best look we've gotten at the scarves.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: I've got a singular... like a singular stripe of the
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: opposite color. I like them. Yeah. I wonder if there's
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: more than one scarf because I feel like, I feel like,
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: have we seen other scarves that look like the more traditional,
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: like with more stripes? I can't remember. I might be misremembering,
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: but I don't feel like I remember ever seeing this
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: scarf before.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think we have.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: And then I like you've got the, yeah, the Gryffindor
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: Quidditch team in the locker room cheering before they go out.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: Harry's looking a little apprehensive. So obviously this is probably
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: his first Quidditch match.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: And then we get our guy, Snape. Yeah. He looks good.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: I think so too. He looks too good. Like, gosh.
- 1:07:46Speaker 6: I think we're both thinking the same thing.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 1:07:49Speaker 6: This can't happen to us.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: First Abberforth. Oh, my goodness. I mean, not that, like,
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: Alan Rickman was a handsome man, but, like, this Snape is, like,
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: my age. You know? And I'm older now. He looks
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: really good.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: It's going to be interesting to grapple with these feelings.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: But no, he sounds great. He does. It sounds like Snape,
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: I think. And I do, like, I know that, I
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: feel like maybe there was an interview that Papa did
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: talking about, like, really wanting to, like, make the character
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: his own. And very clearly in this little shot, like,
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: I think that we get that. But it's, again, I think,
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: at least in my opinion, it's a really good example of,
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: him making the character his own but it's still undeniably
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Snape yeah in my opinion oh.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Yeah he's got that kind of like smirky kind of
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: like sound to what he's saying I love it um
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: So then we get the shot of Harry catching his broomstick.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: And then we get Ron cheering. You can see a
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: couple of the other scarves in this shot.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: Okay, so I'm confused because that's Draco right there. That
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: scarf is not green. It's got the silver stripes. I
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: guess it is maybe green. It's got that darker... Okay,
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: I don't like this color on Scarf.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: It's got like the darker... They look like they've got
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: like the primary house colors like on the outside. And
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: there's like a contrasting color that's not the house color.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: And then there's the secondary house color in the center.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: But I like the Hufflepuff one. Isn't that the one
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: in the back like to the left of Draco?
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: I feel like that's the Hufflepuff one. You can't really
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: see the full thing of that, but it almost looks
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: like the Hufflepuff goes yellow to green to black. Yeah, okay.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: The Slytherin is like green to blue to silver.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I do not like the Slytherin one at all.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: Gryffindor is like maroon blue to gold.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: It's almost like a dark purple.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: It's hard to tell.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: I wonder....
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: I wonder if these are like the tartan colors because
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: weren't they making house tartans?
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: Okay, that could change my opinion on it.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: Because you'd have to have more than two colors to
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: make the tartan work.
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: I just wish they did a plaid tartan then.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: But the tartan could be in like the uniform and
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: then these are just pulling the colors out from the scarf.
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: Yeah. I'll reserve judgment until I like actually kind of
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: see it in person, but I'm not a fan of
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: the Slytherin scarf, which is fine. It's just something I
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: don't need to buy. I really love Ron's little mittens
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: here in Gryffindor colors. They're just all kind of wearing
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: the same colors. Like everybody's in like a dark blue, maroon, yellow.
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: Everyone kind of just looks the same a little bit
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: in this shot.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: And the coloring of their clothes.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Then we get a shot of Harry flying. So
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: we get, like, from the front, and then we get
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: his POV looking out at the broomstick handle. Yeah, that's
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: a cool shot.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: You can see the snitch.
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: And then we have students running outside. in the winter.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: But that's a nice shot of the outside architecture of
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: the castle.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: I can see in the Hogwarts the little logo or slogan.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: I don't know what you want to call it. You
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: can see there's a row of hogs and then underneath
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: and then it looks like we've got these little pillars
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: of Not the– I don't think– because one looks like
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: a dragon. It looks like there's a dragon, maybe an eagle.
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: And then I'm confused because it kind of looks like
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: a monkey, but I don't know why there would be
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: a monkey. And then it.
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: Looks like a dog, but I don't think it's a dog.
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: And then maybe like– I can't tell what the last
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: one is. You'd think they would be the house crest ones,
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: but that one's definitely a dragon. On the far left. Yeah,
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: it can't really tell in the shot, but there's lots
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: of animal statues.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: Maybe they're just different mythical beasts.
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: I bet you that is it. Oh, because actually I
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: wonder if it's a dragon, and I wonder if that's
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: more like a phoenix or a hippogriff.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: Maybe like a demiguise? The thing that looks like a monkey?
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: You know, maybe.
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: Maybe. And then the other one I really can't tell.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: And then at the end, actually the end kind of
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: looks like that one could be a hippogriff or something.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: I don't know. Either way, it's cool.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: And then we get our shot of Harry and Hedwig.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: Hedwig looks good.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: She does look good.
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: And then you get Hagrid. Yeah, I like this line.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: Family is more than just blood.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Yeah. This is clearly inside Hagrid's hut, too. Yeah, Hagrid
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: looks good. But I feel like we kind of knew
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: that from the first trailer. Yep, and then we get...
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: This is probably after the Quidditch match. Because it looks
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: like Harry's still in his Quidditch robes. The twins are
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: in their robes.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and it looks like they're outside on the pitch.
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: Like probably after they win.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: Yeah, celebrating.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: Why is Ron bloodied up? Does something happen?
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: This is when he gets in the fist fight, right?
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: When him and Neville end up fighting with Draco.
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: Okay, that's a nice little book detail there.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: And then we have Hermione doing a little spell. This has, like,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: arm choreography.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: Yeah, she's got... And her face, like, she's really into it.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: Oh, it looks like she's, like, enchanting Banner for the
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: Quidditch game. Because the next angle is like a lion
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: and it says Gryffindor rules and it's starting to light up.
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: Well, I wonder who painted it. You can see the
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: little paint, like the little painter's like palette. Oh, yeah.
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: In the corner too.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Cute. And then we get our wizard's chest close up.
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: This is funny because I was just watching the Sorcerer's
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: Stone movie the other day. This looks so much better.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: This looks so much better. You can tell like just
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: CGI has come a long way.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: No, it looks like the piece is actually splinter. That
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: looks good.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: Nice.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: We get a quick shot of Ron. It looks like.
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: There's a Christmas tree behind him. I wonder if it's
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: sitting there as they're playing because it looks like it's Christmas,
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: the tree in the back. Yeah.
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: Probably it i like that blanket that's on the it's
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: got like the leave design oh again merchandise team please
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: sell that blanket i would get.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: It um and then we get the trio plus neville
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: yay book accuracy running into fluffy um i mean we
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: don't see fluffy but we're We know that's what's happening.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: We know that's what they're doing.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: And then what do they say? We found something incredible.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: And then they scream.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: And run away. Then we get a shot.
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: That's really confusing. I've seen so much about this online.
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: People saying, is this James and Lily? Like a flashback.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Right. Like, what is this? So.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: It's two people running on a bridge.
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: The scene is actually really pretty. Like when they pan
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: out and there's like all the sparklers.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: I said that really weird. The sparklers.
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: So they're like putting their wands on the bridge and
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: then it's like sparking.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: But then it's like as they're doing it, the trees
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: are lighting up too. It's really pretty.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: I don't know what it is, but.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: Maybe it's James and Lily on a date. Yeah.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Who else could these people be?
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: I know we've gotten our casting for James and Lily,
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: but I don't think I've seen what they look like
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: to be able to recognize them.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: It's just interesting. That scene looks really pretty and it's
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: really cool, but it's so out of place in this
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: entire trailer.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Yeah, super weird.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: Because it's like we're in Hogwarts for this entire trailer
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden we're like, here's these
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: people running across this bridge.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what that is.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: It looks good.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: We'll find out. I really like this line from Dumbledore.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: I love this whole scene between Dumbledore and McGonagall.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: So he says, we can't protect them. We can only
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: prepare them.
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: She goes, from what?
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: Which is such a good setup for the entire series
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: because it's true. There's nothing that really can be done
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: to protect them because in the end... Well, and Dumbledore.
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: Knows this, right? Like, you raised him like a pig
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: for slaughter.
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: We see Harry putting on his invisibility cloak. And then
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: this looks like this is the mirror of Erised right here.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: And like the weird empty classroom. It looks like it's
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: being used for storage.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: I kind of like this more than where the mirror
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: was in the movie. Like just in this random room
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: with nothing where this seems more like we have this
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: room of just random junk.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: Yeah. We get to see him touch it, but we
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: don't see any reflection. They just tease us.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: Then we have Hermione saying, anything could be lurking behind
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: any door in this place.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: I wonder who this is walking.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: Somebody with a lantern. It's a filch.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: Oh, maybe. It's behind a shot. I can't tell who it.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: Is. We get a shot of the troll.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: I think the troll looks so good.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: He looks disgusting.
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: And slimy. And I like that it's very like Greek mythology.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: Like it reminds me of like Cyclops just without eyes.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: He has no eyes.
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: It has no eyes. I just, I really, really, really
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: like the look of this troll. That's one thing that
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: stood out to me instantly in this.
- 1:19:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: Where he looks just kind of like silly. I think
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: the trolls look kind of silly in the film. Like
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: in a good, not I don't mean silly in a
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: bad way. But this is like terrifying.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: So we get the shot of Ron with his wand
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: pointed at the troll. And then we cut very quickly
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: to Draco in the Forbidden Forest.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: What is he up to? He's always up to something.
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: Look at those eyebrows.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: He's just Draco.
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: He's just so Draco.
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: He's about to say, scared Potter.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: My father will hear about this. Oh, maybe it's like
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: when they're in the forest.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: This is servant stuff.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe it's that scene. Here we're like, what's he
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: doing in the forest? Duh.
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: Then we get another look at Snape.
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: Throwing his hand up.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: Throwing his hand up and putting out candles.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: Look at this look and stern.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: Just very ominous. You were at Hagrid's hut.
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: Do you think like in this, with this hooded, this
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: is like when he gets like, but they didn't do
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: it at the hut.
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: Didn't he get Norbert, like they were at the bar?
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: Maybe this is supposed to be outside the bar.
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: Maybe, because that's what it kind of looks like with
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: him getting like, you know, Norbert from like this hooded hut. Obviously,
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: you know, but this hooded person who looks very ominous,
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: someone in a hood coming up to Hagrid's hut.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: Then we get a shot of Hermione standing above the
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: trap door.
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: Yeah, we get kind of quick here. They cut really
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: quickly at the end here.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: Yeah. We go from Hermione at the trap door to
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: Ron on the chessboard to Harry probably facing Quirrell. That's
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: what that looks like. Aw, and this little tie. He's
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: so cute.
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: It's just, like, I mean, I don't know if, like,
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: seeing this again, it's just, I don't know, because I
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: watch the films all the time, but it's, like, I
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: don't know, sometimes I just get this weird reminder of, like,
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: how young they all were. Like, here he is, like, fighting, like, Voldemort,
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: and he's just this little kid.
- 1:21:57Speaker 6: He's 11.
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: Something about this scene just, like, reminds me of how.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: I mean, it's not that... And it's not that Dan
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: looked older in Sorcerer's Stone. He looked like a tiny
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: little kid, too, but.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: I think it's because when we first saw the movies,
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: we were so close to their ages. Oh, right.
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: And now we're, like, these old adults. And, like, we're, like,
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: all these poor kids. Yeah.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: Even though we are adults now, looking back at the movies,
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: I guess... I still don't quite see the age as
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: much as I do with like this, because I think
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: we're coming to this fresh. Right.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: When you're watching the films, you're just like, remember watching
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: them when you were that age and experiencing it when
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: you were that age. That's, you know, that's a good point.
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: Cause I do feel so like, motherly is not the
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: right word but like I can't think of another word
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: about watching all these kids yeah in this show that
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: I don't feel about the films and maybe that is
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: it because I grew up with it and I was
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: like that their age like I'm the same age as
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: like Emma Watson so right yeah we're.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: At a different stage in life I know I'm just
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: like all these poor kids um then we get a
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: close-up of text in the book about alchemical theory which
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: I'm sure this is where they find Nicholas Flamel in
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: the book.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: Yep. The next shot where we get the Philosopher's Stone
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: and it says, Nicholas Flamel is the only known maker
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: of the Philosopher's Stone. Yep. Yep. Oh, yep. And we
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: can see where it talks about making the elixir of
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: life and makes the drinker immortal.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: And then you have this shot of Harry and Ron
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: kind of looking at each other and then Hermione looking
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: at them and saying, oh, come on, don't you two read?
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: Just her delivery of this line is great.
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: I love it.
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: She just looks like, you've got to be kidding.
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: Me.
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: And then we cut to the title card. Harry Potter
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: and the Philosopher's Stone Christmas. Christmas.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: Okay, so, okay, never, I'm confused because I've been seeing,
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: I don't know why, I've watched the trailer and I
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: don't know why. Have you seen the, like, it must
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: just be a still that was released of Quirrell. It's, like,
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: up close to his face. I don't know why I
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: thought that was a screen grab from this trailer, but
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: it's not. We only see Quirrell in the back, but
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: I've seen a screenshot.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: Three days ago.
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, right here.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: First look.
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: It says a new trailer, but this picture is not
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: in that trailer.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I did not see that.
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: It's like him in the great... It's almost maybe when he...
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: It's like got the... Like a stained glass window behind him.
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: Is that the image you're looking at? But you can
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: see he's got like this like purpley. So I don't
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: know where this is from because it's not in the trailer.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: No, I didn't see it.
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: But I.
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: I don't like the turban.
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: It looks like a swim cap.
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: It does.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: With flaps at the bottom. I just, it's not big enough.
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't like it.
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: Other than that, he looks fine.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Is there a different version of this trailer?
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: I don't know because this picture keeps coming up, but
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: I don't know where people got this picture from. Because
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: it's not, I don't, I'm pretty sure in that, I mean,
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: we just went slowly through that trailer. Only time we
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: saw Coral was sitting in the back at the professor's table.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't like the turban.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: No, it's weird.
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: Maybe it'll look better in action, but I, yeah. There's
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: my critique. I don't like Quirrell's.
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: Turban at all. Don't like the turban. Don't like the
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: cartoon hog. Nope. Nicole doesn't like the Slytherin scar.
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: I don't like this at all. I don't like it
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: at all. But yeah, no. We got a.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: Lot in that trailer. I mean, overall, I'm still pretty
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: pumped for this series. Every time I see them getting
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: something book accurate it makes me so happy like just
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: knowing that Neville's actually going to be there when they
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: all sneak out and run into Fluffy like oh it
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: just makes me so glad like I'm glad that we're
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: getting this in a form that's allowing for some of
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: that stuff to happen.
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: I do like too how this trailer like really juxtaposes
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: with the first one like the first one is very
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: like muggle world like introduction to that but then this
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: one is like here we are at Hogwarts and it's
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: like all Hogwarts minus that one little bridge scene yeah
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: I agree I wonder how many more trailers we'll get
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: before the show I mean we're about three months out
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: I guess four.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: Months because it's the beginning of September we gotta start
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: getting like press stuff at this point right like I
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: feel like they're going to have to start doing like
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: interviews and press junket.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: Do you think that they'll do a lot of that
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: before or like after it premieres?
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: I just feel like leading up, I could see them
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: doing some like specials. Like I could see like the
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: Today Show or something like doing something like that sort
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: of thing. Like around Thanksgiving. Like I feel like If
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: you've got a Christmas release, a lot of times they'll
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: utilize the time that people are home during, like, other
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: holidays leading up to it.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: I bet you the Macy's float is tied to the
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: show then. Oh, yeah. Because that would make perfect sense
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: to promote it then.
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: I'm just really interested how they're going to do this, like,
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: rollout as we get closer because, like, they don't need
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: to build... I mean... I guess let me take that back.
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: I think in the one hand they.
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: Do because you're trying to win over people that have
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: been fans of this for the last quarter of a century.
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: So you do want to like put stuff out there
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: to win people over. But at the same time, they
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: don't need to do it in a way that like
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: a lot of new shows do where they're like really
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: trying to build hype.
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: You don't have to sell the story.
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: Right. You just need to get people to say, like, yes,
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: I'm going to watch this. So I guess I could
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: see them still doing a pretty good rollout. Yeah.
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: That's the trailer. It's the noise. Yeah.
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: So last episode, we asked, where would your go-to hangout
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: spot be on the Hogwarts grounds? Jerry shared that in nice,
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: sunny weather, sitting in the shade of a tree on
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: the shore of the lake, like the Golden Trio and
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: the Marauders, would be my preferred hangout place, or walking
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: along the shoreline if I want to be more active.
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: Hagrid's Hut was mentioned.
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: I'm not sure if we are allowed to go inside
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: for this question, but if we can, after dark or
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: in a storm or winter snows, sitting inside Hagrid's Hut
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: by the fire, petting Fang, drinking tea, and avoiding eating
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: Hagrid's cooking would be a great hangout.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: Yeah. We were all like team lake. Both me and
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: Carolyn were like, yeah, we want to read a book
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: by the lake.
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: I was going to say, cause I wasn't on the episode.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: So I think that my go-to hangout spot would also
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: be the lake where I went to undergrad. We had
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: a pond like on our campus and it was a
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: really like common place for people to like hang out.
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: And I used to do that. Like I used to
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: go take a, like a blanket out and sit by
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: there to read. So I would also think I would
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: pick the lake. So for this episode, we want to
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: know which piece of Back to Hogwarts 2026 news are
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: you most excited about?
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: So we would love to hear from you.
