- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven, tor Boy, The Mark Simon Show starts. Now.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Hey, well it's Thursday already. This has been a long week.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I think it's the weathers makes us depressing. Awful week. Anyway,
- 0:18Speaker 2: we got a lot to get to today. We'll get
- 0:19Speaker 2: to Alex pretty new video emerging showing what a horrible
- 0:23Speaker 2: guy this guy is. We'll get to that. We'll get
- 0:26Speaker 2: to a possible government shutdown coming very soon. We'll get
- 0:30Speaker 2: to the President what he's up to today. We'll get
- 0:32Speaker 2: to the Hall of Fame not voting Belichick in. We'll
- 0:36Speaker 2: get to the horrible anti Semitic attacks that have been
- 0:40Speaker 2: taking place over the last couple of days and what's
- 0:42Speaker 2: going to be done about it. We'll get to mayor
- 0:45Speaker 2: mom Donnie. The budget crisis. Oh, I don't know. I mean,
- 0:50Speaker 2: you got a major, multi billion dollar budget crisis. Is
- 0:55Speaker 2: this kid the guy you'd want to figure it out?
- 0:57Speaker 2: I don't think so. Okay, here's the in Minneapolis. Tom
- 1:02Speaker 2: Holman held a press conference this morning which impressed everybody,
- 1:07Speaker 2: his tone, his content, calming the situation down. Holman has
- 1:12Speaker 2: been in Minneapolis meeting with the mayor, the governor, police chiefs.
- 1:15Speaker 2: He's got more police chiefs to meet today, and he
- 1:19Speaker 2: explained it very slowly and carefully. If a lot of
- 1:22Speaker 2: people saw this, it's going to help calm things down.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I don't know how many people saw it, but it
- 1:28Speaker 2: was broadcast live, even on CNN, even on MSNBC or
- 1:34Speaker 2: whatever the hell it's called now. Holman explaining that ICE
- 1:38Speaker 2: does this all over the country in many many cities
- 1:41Speaker 2: and many many states, and in all those places it's
- 1:44Speaker 2: done peacefully, orderly, and that's because they have the full
- 1:48Speaker 2: cooperation of the locals. And in most of those places
- 1:52Speaker 2: they have a much smaller footprint and you know, less agents,
- 1:57Speaker 2: just a smaller group. And he explained in Minneapolis it
- 2:01Speaker 2: could have had a much, much, much smaller group of
- 2:03Speaker 2: agents there, of ICE officers, but because the locals won't cooperate,
- 2:09Speaker 2: he had to send a lot more people. In other words,
- 2:12Speaker 2: and explain this carefully. If it takes twenty guys to
- 2:15Speaker 2: go do the arresting of people, you send twenty people
- 2:18Speaker 2: and that's it. If there's going to be no police
- 2:22Speaker 2: on the ground anywhere to assist, now you've got to
- 2:25Speaker 2: send another thirty or forty or fifty to take care
- 2:29Speaker 2: of crowd control. Because you're going to get these screaming, angry,
- 2:32Speaker 2: nutjob protesters. And in any situation, the police keep the
- 2:37Speaker 2: protesters on that side of the street where they're free
- 2:41Speaker 2: to yell and wave their signs and blow their whistles.
- 2:46Speaker 2: But if you take the police away and the barricades away,
- 2:48Speaker 2: nothing stops the protesters for just going physically after the
- 2:53Speaker 2: law enforcement and confronting them. That's what happened on January sixth.
- 2:57Speaker 2: If they had done what the President said, the ten
- 3:00Speaker 2: thousand troops guarding the capitol, the protesters would have been
- 3:04Speaker 2: held way back, would have never gotten anywhere near the capitol.
- 3:07Speaker 2: But without any of the troops, you just had the
- 3:10Speaker 2: building security guys there. The capitol police, you know, they're
- 3:14Speaker 2: not trained for controlling a mob of four hundred thousand people.
- 3:17Speaker 2: So protesters were able to get into the capitol, overrun
- 3:22Speaker 2: the place, physically confront the law enforcement. That's when you
- 3:25Speaker 2: have disaster, and that's what happened in Minneapolis. They deliberately
- 3:28Speaker 2: withdrew all the police. These guys. Ice guys were alone
- 3:32Speaker 2: on the street, confronted physically by the mob. So it's
- 3:36Speaker 2: home and explain they're going to have to have the
- 3:39Speaker 2: local police step in control the protesting, Keep it peaceful,
- 3:43Speaker 2: keep it non violent. So, in other words, protesters can't
- 3:48Speaker 2: drive their car into an officer. They can't wrestle with
- 3:51Speaker 2: an officer, they can't physically confront them. Now, new videos
- 3:55Speaker 2: come out of pretty which is pretty shocking. You know,
- 3:58Speaker 2: the media spent two three days explaining to you he's
- 4:02Speaker 2: a gentle man, he's a nurse. He tweets people he's
- 4:06Speaker 2: a carrying, gentle sweet nurse. Well, this new video makes
- 4:12Speaker 2: him look like a raging nutsjob. If you didn't know
- 4:16Speaker 2: anything about this incident, if somebody just showed you this
- 4:18Speaker 2: video and say, hey, look at here's a road rage incident,
- 4:21Speaker 2: you think this guy should be in a metal institution.
- 4:23Speaker 2: He's driving by, he sees ice officers arresting somebody, so
- 4:29Speaker 2: he stops his car, slams on the brinks, jumps out,
- 4:33Speaker 2: starts calling him all kinds of names. I think if
- 4:35Speaker 2: you go to my Twitter, you can find the one
- 4:36Speaker 2: with the audio. We can't play it on the air
- 4:39Speaker 2: because it's all F mother, F this, mother, F that,
- 4:43Speaker 2: and he's screaming at the police, come on, arrest me,
- 4:45Speaker 2: assault me, you mother. It's really vile. Can't play it
- 4:49Speaker 2: on the air. But he then goes after their car,
- 4:57Speaker 2: the ice vehicle. He starts first, he spits at the
- 5:00Speaker 2: ice officer, he spits at the vehicle. Then he starts
- 5:04Speaker 2: kicking the vehicle. And I got to give him credit,
- 5:06Speaker 2: he's pretty good at that kicking, because he kicked it
- 5:08Speaker 2: hard enough to completely destroy the tail light, not just
- 5:12Speaker 2: smash the glass on it, but he knocked the whole
- 5:14Speaker 2: everything out of the car, leaving a big hole in
- 5:17Speaker 2: the back of the car. Again on my Twitter you
- 5:19Speaker 2: can see the video. So he's damaged this car. Now
- 5:22Speaker 2: it's undrivable, no tail light and a big hole in
- 5:26Speaker 2: the back. And the officers now stop, get him out.
- 5:29Speaker 2: They wrestle him to the ground, and I don't know why,
- 5:33Speaker 2: but they didn't arrest him. He committed a terrible crime there,
- 5:36Speaker 2: vandalizing this vehicle, but they didn't arrest him. They let
- 5:40Speaker 2: him go. They diffused the situation. They were very surprisingly tolerant.
- 5:46Speaker 2: They let him go. They should have arrested him there.
- 5:49Speaker 2: They should have arrested him and had him locked up.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Maybe that way his life would be saved because he
- 5:53Speaker 2: wouldn't be back on the street to do this stuff.
- 5:56Speaker 2: So he's a very violent, out of control, raging sort
- 6:01Speaker 2: of a guy. The videos are all over the place. Now,
- 6:03Speaker 2: you know the shooting video, you've seen that a million
- 6:06Speaker 2: times on mainstream news. But this video of him raging
- 6:10Speaker 2: out of control, damaging the vehicle, of course you don't see.
- 6:13Speaker 2: You see that once and then they don't show it again. Now,
- 6:16Speaker 2: Holman also explained this ICE operation, it's perfectly legal. In fact,
- 6:20Speaker 2: it's an operation to enforce the law, and Holman pointing
- 6:25Speaker 2: out it's what America voted for. America voted for this,
- 6:29Speaker 2: to have the illegals rounded up and taken out, removed,
- 6:33Speaker 2: especially the criminal ones. America voted for this. This is
- 6:36Speaker 2: what they're doing. So it was a pretty good press conference.
- 6:42Speaker 2: You'll see it throughout the day today. There's a cabinet
- 6:45Speaker 2: meeting a little later this couple hours, President will hold
- 6:49Speaker 2: a cabinet meeting. I'm sure he'll go on at length
- 6:51Speaker 2: about all this. Everybody's going to be looking to see
- 6:54Speaker 2: where Christy nom is in the cabinet meeting, if she
- 6:57Speaker 2: gets to speak, and if the President as he goes
- 7:00Speaker 2: on the room, defends her. She's under fire right now.
- 7:03Speaker 2: A lot of people calling for her to be fired.
- 7:06Speaker 2: She's been sidelined. Knowing the president when Hexath was in
- 7:09Speaker 2: a lot of trouble there, he'll probably do the same thing.
- 7:12Speaker 2: He'll praise him, give him praise, givehim a pat on
- 7:14Speaker 2: the back, but keep them quiet. Now there's a lot
- 7:19Speaker 2: going on. There's the talk of a shutdown, maybe this weekend,
- 7:23Speaker 2: maybe Monday. The good thing is the snowstorm has affected Washington,
- 7:26Speaker 2: d C. In a lot of places, so most of
- 7:29Speaker 2: these congress people cannot get back to Washington or don't
- 7:31Speaker 2: want to get back to Washington, so that made delay things.
- 7:34Speaker 2: The shutdown would be over ICE, defunding ICE, defunding Homeland Security.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Now you can't really do that because if you defund
- 7:43Speaker 2: homeland Security, that's a lot of other things. That's the TSA.
- 7:47Speaker 2: There's too many things in there. You can't just defund it.
- 7:50Speaker 2: So they'll fight about certain things. You'll see Schumer with
- 7:53Speaker 2: the glasses no longer the Ben Franklin glasses now the
- 7:56Speaker 2: big swifty Lazar glasses, the big Kent glasses, and you
- 8:02Speaker 2: know he gets all steamed. It's the video of him
- 8:05Speaker 2: yesterday or the day before using the F word, trying
- 8:08Speaker 2: to sound tough, but it's great to way what he
- 8:10Speaker 2: gets all riled up. The glasses are fogging up. Here's
- 8:13Speaker 2: Schumer yesterday.
- 8:14Speaker 3: But we also realized that this puts our democracy at risk.
- 8:19Speaker 3: It's a force of thuggery. The federal government is supporting
- 8:23Speaker 3: a large force of thuggery. Can we really worry about
- 8:27Speaker 3: its consequences for America if we don't rain them in.
- 8:30Speaker 2: This guy is the worst actor ever. You can give
- 8:32Speaker 2: them any dialogue and he can make it boring anything,
- 8:36Speaker 2: and he could put you asleep. So they'll fight about
- 8:39Speaker 2: things with to avoid the shutdown. They'll fight about ice
- 8:43Speaker 2: and changes, big changes. Now, one of the things Democrats
- 8:47Speaker 2: want is no masks. They have to take the masks off.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Now that's probably not going to happen. There's a compromise
- 8:52Speaker 2: the government has proposed. They'll keep the mask, but each
- 8:55Speaker 2: one will have a number on them, an identifying number.
- 8:58Speaker 2: So if you want to report for anything, you just
- 9:01Speaker 2: give the number and the government can look up exactly
- 9:04Speaker 2: who the guy is. The reason for the masks is
- 9:07Speaker 2: these crazy lunatics. If they can see the face, we'll
- 9:11Speaker 2: try to identify the person and then go terrorize their
- 9:14Speaker 2: family in their homes. So that's the reason for the masks.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Stephen Colbert shocked a lot of people last night making
- 9:24Speaker 2: a joke about he started talking about you, you know, calling
- 9:28Speaker 2: these people Nazis, calling them Nazis, and he played clips
- 9:31Speaker 2: of everybody calling them Nazis, and then Colbert said something
- 9:33Speaker 2: to the effect of, that's wrong to compare them the Nazis.
- 9:38Speaker 2: The Nazis didn't wear a mask. Give the Nazis credit.
- 9:41Speaker 2: They didn't wear a mask. They showed their faces. In
- 9:43Speaker 2: other words, he was praising the Nazis over Ice, which
- 9:47Speaker 2: is horrible, horrible thing to say. It's trivializing the Holocaust.
- 9:53Speaker 2: It's praising the Nazis. It's given them credit for something,
- 9:57Speaker 2: and trivializing the Holocaust is always a sign of real
- 10:00Speaker 2: serious anti semitism. Called Bert getting a lot of backlash.
- 10:04Speaker 2: He's already fired, so there's not much they can do
- 10:06Speaker 2: to him. Speaking of anti Semitism, We've had a couple
- 10:09Speaker 2: of horrible, horrible incidents in the last couple of days.
- 10:13Speaker 2: There was a rabbi walking down the street wearing a yamaka,
- 10:19Speaker 2: and a guy comes up and starts screaming the worst
- 10:22Speaker 2: anti semitic and then attacks the rabbi, knocks him the ground,
- 10:26Speaker 2: beats him up. Here's the rabbi.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I just said, it cannot happen like this.
- 10:30Speaker 4: I must fight back, and I just gave him back,
- 10:33Speaker 4: and I found myself into a fight.
- 10:35Speaker 2: I never you know, I'm not a fight I'm a rabbi.
- 10:38Speaker 4: And I found myself falling in the floor, in the snow,
- 10:42Speaker 4: getting punched.
- 10:43Speaker 2: In horrible, horrible incident. And then in the Hubbad Center,
- 10:47Speaker 2: the Lubavic Center in Brooklyn, Crown Heights, Brooklyn, attacked by
- 10:51Speaker 2: a guy in a car at the entrance. He comes up.
- 10:57Speaker 2: He said, if he's driving up the entrance, then he
- 10:58Speaker 2: tries to drive through it, smash it. Then he pulls
- 11:00Speaker 2: his car back and then goes forward again, trying to
- 11:04Speaker 2: smash it over and over and over again. A lot
- 11:06Speaker 2: of police patrolling that center, and luckily they were close by.
- 11:10Speaker 2: They got the guy, pulled him out of the car.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Here's the news report. Oh yeah, this is a witness.
- 11:15Speaker 5: He's yelling at the boys to move out the way
- 11:18Speaker 5: as they were standing in the driveway, and he pulls
- 11:21Speaker 5: his car in and then he starts ramming the building,
- 11:25Speaker 5: driving in, reversing, driving in again, just driving in and out.
- 11:28Speaker 5: Did it about five times. Straight away. Boys ran to
- 11:30Speaker 5: there's a police unit parked outside the main entrance to
- 11:33Speaker 5: the building and around the police came and pulled him
- 11:37Speaker 5: out of the car, arrested him. It was about six
- 11:39Speaker 5: foot long hair. He was just in his wearing a shirt,
- 11:42Speaker 5: but just underwear.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Cold, it was yesterday. It was a windchill minus six.
- 11:50Speaker 2: He's just in this underwear. So obviously a raging nut
- 11:54Speaker 2: anti Semite. Something's got to be done about this. It's
- 11:56Speaker 2: out of control. You know, you always hear about the
- 12:00Speaker 2: Muslim community. I checked with police officials. There's no attacks
- 12:03Speaker 2: anywhere on the Muslim community. It's all anti Semitic attacks,
- 12:07Speaker 2: all anti Semitic attacks all over in New York. It's
- 12:11Speaker 2: got to stop. The Police Commissioner held a press conference
- 12:14Speaker 2: denouncing all this and announcing the arrest, and Mamdannie stood
- 12:17Speaker 2: with her and then spoke about the horrible anti semitism
- 12:21Speaker 2: and his tone was right, his words were right. Let's
- 12:23Speaker 2: hope he meant it. Here's the good news. We have
- 12:27Speaker 2: a new City council speaker who runs the city council,
- 12:31Speaker 2: speaker of the City Council, and that's a very big job.
- 12:33Speaker 2: The City council speaker has as much power as a
- 12:37Speaker 2: mayor in doing things in New York. Well, the new
- 12:40Speaker 2: City Council speaker, Julie Mennon. We had a luncheon for
- 12:43Speaker 2: her yesterday. I talked to her yesterday. She's great, Julie
- 12:46Speaker 2: menin New City Council speaker, the first Jewish I believe,
- 12:51Speaker 2: I think Jewish city council speaker. And she has already
- 12:55Speaker 2: announced she's forming an anti Semitism task force the city
- 13:00Speaker 2: Council will have. They'll have a lot of power to
- 13:01Speaker 2: do things all over the city about anti Semitism, including
- 13:05Speaker 2: holding hearings and holding people accountable. So that's the goodness.
- 13:09Speaker 2: And she's a she's a Democrat, but she's a very
- 13:12Speaker 2: very moderate conservative Democrat, very common sense. So whatever whatever
- 13:18Speaker 2: Mom Donnie tries to do, she can help counter it.
- 13:21Speaker 2: So you got some balance there. It's very important to
- 13:23Speaker 2: remember you've got a city council speaker who's the opposite
- 13:26Speaker 2: of Mom Donnie. Hey, Bill Belichick, it's not getting in
- 13:30Speaker 2: the Hall of Fame. Everybody yelling and screaming about it.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Some major names are now not coming to the ceremony
- 13:37Speaker 2: as a result of Belichick being snubbed. Tom Brady can't
- 13:42Speaker 2: believe it. I don't understand it.
- 13:43Speaker 6: I mean, I was with them every day.
- 13:45Speaker 4: If he's not a first ball Hall of Famer, there's
- 13:47Speaker 4: really no coach that should ever be.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, now, if you win six Super Bowls and you
- 13:52Speaker 2: can't get in, what the hell do you have to
- 13:54Speaker 2: do to get in? Now? Some people say, what would
- 13:57Speaker 2: what would be the reason they would snub? Some say, well,
- 13:59Speaker 2: the cheating. Okay, there was some cheating with the Patriots,
- 14:04Speaker 2: stealing signals, playing around with the inflation on the ball,
- 14:07Speaker 2: that kind of stuff. But I'm sure it happens all
- 14:10Speaker 2: over the place. But they think that might be the reason.
- 14:12Speaker 7: They didn't think that someone who had run a year's
- 14:15Speaker 7: long cheating operation should get into the Hall of Fame
- 14:19Speaker 7: in his first year of eligibility.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. Without the cheating, they
- 14:24Speaker 2: would do just fine. Hey, Jimmy Johnson says he's not
- 14:27Speaker 2: coming to the ceremony. Had chartered a plane he was
- 14:30Speaker 2: going to go there. He said, to hell with it,
- 14:32Speaker 2: I'm not going this year. Belichick should have been automatic.
- 14:37Speaker 2: So hey, Sunday, there's a chance of what they call
- 14:41Speaker 2: a bomb cyclone. This is snow. Now, it's probably not
- 14:46Speaker 2: that bad snow wise, it's the worst. It will be
- 14:48Speaker 2: about three inches. There's two different models, so this could change,
- 14:53Speaker 2: but the current trajectory shows it kind of missing most
- 14:58Speaker 2: of us. It's gonna hit eastern Long Island may be hard,
- 15:02Speaker 2: and maybe the Jersey Shore, but in the city, Westchester,
- 15:06Speaker 2: Fairfield County, NASA County won't be as bad. But in
- 15:11Speaker 2: other words, we might get one to three inches and
- 15:13Speaker 2: on the other places maybe over three. But it's called
- 15:16Speaker 2: a bomb cyclone. What that means is it's fast and furious.
- 15:20Speaker 2: It's not like last weekend where it snows for you know,
- 15:24Speaker 2: nineteen hours. This is like two three hours of this
- 15:27Speaker 2: ferocious snow and it all comes at once, and it
- 15:30Speaker 2: comes with very fast, heavy winds. So that's why they
- 15:33Speaker 2: call it a bomb cyclone. Keep an eye on this.
- 15:36Speaker 2: It could be this Sunday now, then after that Monday
- 15:39Speaker 2: Tuesday looks like it get lay up to thirty two
- 15:42Speaker 2: maybe slightly above freezing. You might start melting some of
- 15:45Speaker 2: the snow. There are snow melters. They start to bring
- 15:48Speaker 2: those into the city where you plow up the snow
- 15:50Speaker 2: and dump it in the melter and it turns it
- 15:53Speaker 2: into water. And goes down the drain. But anyway, we
- 15:55Speaker 2: got a lot to get to. Oh, don't go away.
- 15:57Speaker 2: We'll get to Bruce Springsteen and many applis. He's come
- 16:01Speaker 2: up with a song. You know, you got to hear
- 16:02Speaker 2: this ridiculous. Anyway, we'll get to that coming up. We'll
- 16:05Speaker 2: take some calls. Next eight hundred three two one zero
- 16:09Speaker 2: seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two one
- 16:12Speaker 2: zero seven ten.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Set up pre sat on the iHeartRadio app to dou
- 16:16Speaker 1: w o R to hear Mark live. Set another for
- 16:19Speaker 1: Mark's podcast to hear him anytime. Now back to Mark
- 16:24Speaker 1: Simon on wo R.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Well, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh, let's
- 16:31Speaker 2: go to Danny in Boston. Danny, how you doing?
- 16:35Speaker 8: Hi?
- 16:35Speaker 4: Mark?
- 16:36Speaker 9: I just want to say that if legal immigration got.
- 16:38Speaker 2: A translate for people are living in New York, mock
- 16:41Speaker 2: means Mark, it's from Boston.
- 16:43Speaker 9: Oh all right, mister Simon, the legal Immigration's got to
- 16:47Speaker 9: golf too, because we're getting flooded now. It's ridiculous. And
- 16:51Speaker 9: what's going on?
- 16:52Speaker 2: How much snow do you have there in Boston right now?
- 16:55Speaker 9: Oh, we're supposed to Just like you said, we're getting
- 16:57Speaker 9: more Sunday but it's we're very here. We have so
- 17:00Speaker 9: many Third worlders. They don't know how to shovel snow.
- 17:03Speaker 9: That's why legal immigrations.
- 17:05Speaker 2: If you need snow shovel that's what you get. The
- 17:07Speaker 2: third world there is, that's uh, the illegals, that's th
- 17:10Speaker 2: shovels the snow.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Uh.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Where are you? Where are you in Boston?
- 17:16Speaker 9: I'm considered as southeas I love, but I love the
- 17:18Speaker 9: North end of the Italian restaurants still there, still beautiful
- 17:21Speaker 9: and delicious, of course.
- 17:24Speaker 10: Uh.
- 17:24Speaker 2: The thing is, it's funny. Southea was South Boston. Southe
- 17:28Speaker 2: was like the bad, bad area. Now it's like the
- 17:30Speaker 2: hottest place in the world. Now it's the meatpacking district
- 17:33Speaker 2: of Boston. Uh so what's all the hippies?
- 17:36Speaker 9: All the hippies, hippies and yappies are up there. They
- 17:38Speaker 9: all lived in there, did the governor? MEMI wants to.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Wants to translate for those here in New York, Governor,
- 17:45Speaker 2: it means governor, Uh, I love your Boston accent. It's great,
- 17:48Speaker 2: thanks for calling. Uh. It happens in a lot of
- 17:51Speaker 2: neighborhoods Dorchester, southy and Boston or not Dorchester as they
- 17:57Speaker 2: say in Boston, Dorchester, Uh, these rundown rough neighborhoods with
- 18:03Speaker 2: these old timers, and then all of a sudden they
- 18:04Speaker 2: become like the meatpacking district. They become the hottest place.
- 18:07Speaker 2: There's a million twenty somethings running around and drives these
- 18:10Speaker 2: old timers crazy. Let's go to Richard in Bay Shore. Richard,
- 18:14Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 18:16Speaker 11: Hey, good morning, Mark. Two quick points, one about Holman
- 18:19Speaker 11: and one about Preddy. I think Holman should wear his
- 18:23Speaker 11: medal that Obama gave him whenever he can. I mean,
- 18:25Speaker 11: he makes a public appearance. I think it'll you know,
- 18:29Speaker 11: they formerly streaming press can't ignore it, and it'll create
- 18:33Speaker 11: a discussion which will be I think positive.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Well it's a good idea, but Holman's not the type
- 18:39Speaker 2: to do it. He's not a grand standard. Even said
- 18:41Speaker 2: at the beginning of this press compas this morning is
- 18:43Speaker 2: I'm not a photo ops guy. He's you remember the
- 18:49Speaker 2: Seinfeld episode where they got to meet Elaine's father played
- 18:54Speaker 2: by the old actor Lawrence Tierney, and he's just a
- 18:57Speaker 2: gruff guy. They get all uncomfortable with a guy that's
- 19:00Speaker 2: home and he's I mean, he's a great guy. I'm
- 19:02Speaker 2: an American hero. But K wouldn't want to spend New
- 19:05Speaker 2: Year's Eve with him. Let's just put it that way.
- 19:07Speaker 2: He's not the most lively guy in the world, but
- 19:08Speaker 2: he's a very very top top guy, perfect guy in
- 19:12Speaker 2: this situation, and his press conference today was brilliant, exactly
- 19:17Speaker 2: the right tone. Let's go to Freddy in Long Island. Freddie,
- 19:20Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 19:22Speaker 10: First time? Called a first time call a monk. I
- 19:25Speaker 10: have two questions for you. The first question is, how
- 19:29Speaker 10: do you what do you think about the percentage of
- 19:33Speaker 10: the protesters that are paid in Minnesota.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Oh, it's another very good point. Many of them are
- 19:38Speaker 2: organized paid, and Holman said today those of you financing
- 19:42Speaker 2: this justice is coming soon, so there is an investigation
- 19:47Speaker 2: tracking the money.
- 19:48Speaker 10: Second question, what do you think the percentages of the
- 19:50Speaker 10: of the people though that are there. What percentage you
- 19:53Speaker 10: think it is that are paid protesters of all the
- 19:55Speaker 10: people that.
- 19:56Speaker 2: It's probably fifty percent because when you start this, well
- 19:59Speaker 2: I don't I'm just guessing it could be. When you
- 20:04Speaker 2: start this kind of stuff, it's the paid protesters. We've
- 20:09Speaker 2: seen the trucks pull up passing out the signs that
- 20:12Speaker 2: are all obviously from the same printer, very expensive printing.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Remember we saw that in the twenty twenty summer Riots,
- 20:18Speaker 2: where the truck would pull up and pass out bats
- 20:20Speaker 2: and bricks to everybody. Very organized, very well financed. But
- 20:25Speaker 2: then they start online. Everybody's tweeting and you know, in chats,
- 20:29Speaker 2: letting everybody know where they are. So when they let
- 20:31Speaker 2: everybody know where they paid protesters are, then a million
- 20:35Speaker 2: amateurs will show up and join in. But Homan making
- 20:39Speaker 2: a clear they are tracking the money and they will
- 20:41Speaker 2: be coming after they DJ will be coming after some people.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Let's go to Dave in Orange County. Dave, how you doing?
- 20:48Speaker 6: Hey, I do, Bud.
- 20:50Speaker 12: The reason why Belichick has gotten Hall of Fame close.
- 20:53Speaker 4: He's just not a nice person. He's mean, he's arrogant.
- 20:57Speaker 2: He's that's half the guys in the NFL. Well that's
- 21:00Speaker 2: half the quarter back.
- 21:02Speaker 6: Well, well, you know what.
- 21:03Speaker 3: He takes it a little too far.
- 21:05Speaker 6: You know what I mean?
- 21:05Speaker 4: I get you. You know, you could be a hard
- 21:08Speaker 4: guy and also be respectful.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Hey, I hate to say it. I hate to say
- 21:13Speaker 2: it because I knew the guy. But there was nobody meaner,
- 21:16Speaker 2: nastier than Joe DiMaggio. But he got in the Hall
- 21:19Speaker 2: of Fame. Oh okay, I'm sorry. I didn't realize. Hey,
- 21:23Speaker 2: how much snow do you have? How much snow do
- 21:25Speaker 2: you have in Orange County?
- 21:27Speaker 6: Oh? We got it.
- 21:27Speaker 11: We got a good amount.
- 21:28Speaker 4: We got a two feet.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Up here, two feet, Oh my god.
- 21:32Speaker 4: The problem is that it's not going anywhere, you know,
- 21:35Speaker 4: It's just it's mouths and abounds of snow.
- 21:37Speaker 2: All right, it made me feel better. You made me
- 21:40Speaker 2: feel better. He's got these got two feet, we got
- 21:42Speaker 2: six inches. We shouldn't complain so much. Uh, I didn't
- 21:45Speaker 2: have to go to the gym this week. I just
- 21:46Speaker 2: get enough ectas jumping over puddles, climbing up snow banks.
- 21:51Speaker 2: So they do have these big, huge, enormous machines. It
- 21:54Speaker 2: looks like a big enormous truck, and you take the snow,
- 21:58Speaker 2: you plow it up, and you dump it into this
- 21:59Speaker 2: thing and it melts it down to water and gets
- 22:02Speaker 2: rid of it. Some shopping centers use them. There was
- 22:07Speaker 2: the plow. You know, when you plow a shopping center,
- 22:10Speaker 2: you end up piling up the snow. You lose half
- 22:11Speaker 2: your parking spaces. But if you got these snow melters,
- 22:15Speaker 2: you just dump it into there and eventually you can
- 22:17Speaker 2: clear the whole parking lot. All the snow is gone.
- 22:19Speaker 2: They started bringing these things into the city last night.
- 22:22Speaker 2: I don't know how many they have, but they're starting
- 22:24Speaker 2: to do that with the snow. The other thing they
- 22:27Speaker 2: do is they now start plowing up this snow it's
- 22:29Speaker 2: piled up on the sides there, put it in the
- 22:32Speaker 2: trucks and go dump it in the river. So that
- 22:34Speaker 2: operation started yesterday. Hey, when we come back, the greatest
- 22:38Speaker 2: political analyst, the dean himself, Ed Rollins next on seven
- 22:41Speaker 2: to ten, wor here's.
- 22:44Speaker 1: More, Marks amone on seven ten war.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Well, let's talk to the dean himself, Ed Rollins, who's
- 22:52Speaker 2: run more campaigns, more successful campaigns than anyone did in
- 22:56Speaker 2: more white houses, knows everything about this stuff, Ed Rollins?
- 23:00Speaker 2: How you doing good?
- 23:02Speaker 4: Mark? How are you doing this morning?
- 23:04Speaker 2: Very good? Can you believe 's talk about government shutdown again?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Why did this happen?
- 23:11Speaker 4: Well, you know, he only had a couple of boat
- 23:13Speaker 4: margins in the House and in the Senate. Anything can happen,
- 23:16Speaker 4: And I think to a certain extent, Democrats gonn't take
- 23:18Speaker 4: any issue they can to embarrass the president. I think
- 23:23Speaker 4: to a certain extent they need to resolve this, and
- 23:25Speaker 4: resolve this quick. If you go through another couple of
- 23:27Speaker 4: weeks of the shutdown, looks like the president doesn't know
- 23:31Speaker 4: what he's doing. Doesn't know look, and he's now in
- 23:33Speaker 4: a position where he's got to got to be pretty
- 23:36Speaker 4: much perfect in everything he does. From the Forestable Future.
- 23:41Speaker 4: One of the concerns I had as they went to
- 23:42Speaker 4: high over the end of the day, had his small
- 23:44Speaker 4: crowd seven other people, and he's got all he was
- 23:49Speaker 4: supposed to a message about economy and how good things are.
- 23:52Speaker 4: And you know, he always gets distracted. He needs a
- 23:55Speaker 4: script in his head, not necessarily script on a teleprompter.
- 24:00Speaker 4: But this is what I'm gonna talk about. I'm not
- 24:01Speaker 4: gonna talk about Ice. I'm not going to talk about
- 24:03Speaker 4: Ukraine's not going to talk about Iran. I'm gonna talk
- 24:07Speaker 4: about the American public and all the things that we
- 24:09Speaker 4: have done and can do for the American public. That's
- 24:12Speaker 4: what people want to hear.
- 24:13Speaker 6: He does that, and.
- 24:15Speaker 4: These trips are worthwhile. If he doesn't do this, he
- 24:17Speaker 4: has a small crowd, you go out there and you
- 24:19Speaker 4: have bigger crowds in the opposition. It's not it's not
- 24:23Speaker 4: a productive use of his time.
- 24:26Speaker 2: You know, all the economic numbers are up. Everything's been
- 24:29Speaker 2: inflating down. You know, the economic stuff is great. He's
- 24:32Speaker 2: such a great salesman. Why is he so bad on
- 24:34Speaker 2: messaging this?
- 24:37Speaker 4: Well, I think to a certain extent he he's said
- 24:40Speaker 4: over and over again, this is what's happening. And I
- 24:43Speaker 4: think he probably doesn't mean this is as sexy as
- 24:45Speaker 4: it should be, as much fun as going after all
- 24:50Speaker 4: the other stuff. Yeah, he loves the international stuff. He
- 24:53Speaker 4: loves he loves to you know, this is it's pretty interesting.
- 24:57Speaker 4: You know, I work for Nixon, Ford, Reagan, round Bush
- 25:03Speaker 4: and then around another presidents ever since. Some like the press,
- 25:07Speaker 4: some don't like the press. Trump doesn't like the press,
- 25:10Speaker 4: and he likes to taunt them to get them in
- 25:12Speaker 4: the Oval office and perform with his good friend whoever
- 25:16Speaker 4: they the friend of the day maybe whatever, the world leader.
- 25:19Speaker 4: And most most Americans don't care about that. What they
- 25:21Speaker 4: care about right now is they're still not sure about
- 25:24Speaker 4: the economy. All I know is when they go to
- 25:27Speaker 4: the grocery store, their checks aren't going as far as
- 25:29Speaker 4: they used to. And that's the issue here. And he's
- 25:32Speaker 4: got a few months to get dead. Yeah, certainly it's
- 25:37Speaker 4: still out there on terraffs and all the rest of
- 25:40Speaker 4: it is. Is for some reason there's a backslide, then
- 25:44Speaker 4: that's kind of a big impact. He's got a lot
- 25:46Speaker 4: of members of Congress are very word and as I've
- 25:48Speaker 4: said on the show before, the first thing that the
- 25:51Speaker 4: Congress he cares about is not whether President or Piggan
- 25:54Speaker 4: has high approval numbers, is to do they have high
- 25:56Speaker 4: approval numbers? And are they gonna get re elected? As
- 25:58Speaker 4: they get into this political process. You know, you're not
- 26:01Speaker 4: talking about the maximum probably is twenty five thirty seats
- 26:05Speaker 4: that you could lose. But it's a big difference if
- 26:08Speaker 4: you run the campaign well and get some benefit out
- 26:11Speaker 4: of it, and everybody's everybody's saying the same thing. You
- 26:13Speaker 4: have too many people in this administration seeing their own thing,
- 26:17Speaker 4: and at the end of the day, you know, it's
- 26:19Speaker 4: disaster in Minnesota and the ice and all the rest
- 26:21Speaker 4: of it. Who's just really hurt him. I would basically
- 26:25Speaker 4: not use her anymore if as on a fire, just
- 26:27Speaker 4: how I go do FEMA stuff. But at the end
- 26:30Speaker 4: of the day, you know he's he's not going to
- 26:33Speaker 4: get the good word back on Ice Ice can't do
- 26:36Speaker 4: any more than they've done. We are basically getting people
- 26:40Speaker 4: who are illegally in the country out in the country
- 26:42Speaker 4: with a lot of liver data the volunteer program to
- 26:45Speaker 4: fly back to their country and had to highlights a
- 26:48Speaker 4: lot of stuff, but most of all needs highlight economy.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Yeah, so you know you can think about this very
- 26:53Speaker 2: clearly and simple and clear. I can do that. But
- 26:57Speaker 2: when you get elected and you're sitting there in that
- 26:58Speaker 2: oval office all day, are there like a thousand people
- 27:01Speaker 2: pulling in every direction and a million things as.
- 27:06Speaker 4: You need, you need to have a team around, and
- 27:08Speaker 4: you know you don't have to You don't have to
- 27:09Speaker 4: be with anybody. I mean, at the end of the day,
- 27:11Speaker 4: you can have two or three advisors you want to
- 27:13Speaker 4: come in and tell you what you want to hear,
- 27:15Speaker 4: will tell you what you need, information you need you
- 27:17Speaker 4: control that environment. He kind of likes crowds, you know.
- 27:21Speaker 4: He he when he gets in troubles, these short interviews
- 27:25Speaker 4: where he's either on an Air Force one or he's
- 27:27Speaker 4: going the helicopter or what have you, and he says
- 27:29Speaker 4: something that you shouldn't be saying, or something that's in
- 27:32Speaker 4: or five o'clock on the morning at three o'clock in
- 27:34Speaker 4: the morning when he gets up and he gets on
- 27:36Speaker 4: his on his Twitter account. You know, you got to
- 27:40Speaker 4: try and read a night of course, well wash watch movies.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Who are sports? Uh, there's a lot on his plate
- 27:48Speaker 4: and he's no one. No president has accumulated as much
- 27:52Speaker 4: power as he has. Nixon tried, as Linda Johnson tried.
- 27:56Speaker 4: But he's done it, I think, to a certain extenting
- 27:58Speaker 4: down and use it.
- 28:00Speaker 8: You know.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Uh, it's hard to keep in touch with the people,
- 28:03Speaker 2: like really have your finger on the pulse when you're
- 28:05Speaker 2: in the White House. So you can try to watch
- 28:08Speaker 2: your Fox News, you can try to watch the newscast,
- 28:10Speaker 2: you can, but I remember reading that Reagan liked to
- 28:13Speaker 2: watch sitcoms like Roseanne because he would show him people's
- 28:16Speaker 2: lives and how they were. So what does the president
- 28:19Speaker 2: do to like, really really be in touch with people.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Well, he likes, he likes. He's a news junkie, and
- 28:26Speaker 4: you know, he wants it all to be perfect, and
- 28:28Speaker 4: he's never going to be perfect. He listens to your show,
- 28:32Speaker 4: which is my friend Michael Goodwin's column and New York
- 28:36Speaker 4: Post and you know, yeah, even even Fox gets off
- 28:40Speaker 4: off uh sometimes and you know, too much of that
- 28:45Speaker 4: is he sinks.
- 28:46Speaker 10: Uh.
- 28:47Speaker 4: You know Reagan, Reagan was a very secure man. Hagan
- 28:50Speaker 4: haig was someone who got dollars that even needs. And
- 28:52Speaker 4: when he's a movie star, even a lifeguard, d you're
- 28:55Speaker 4: heca college.
- 28:56Speaker 10: Uh.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Trump is still fighting every day, fighting fighting to get recommission.
- 29:00Speaker 4: I mean his president of the state has been much
- 29:02Speaker 4: to twice. Uh you know that to be enough for
- 29:04Speaker 4: any man. But you know the stupidity about the about
- 29:07Speaker 4: the Oh's Nobil Peace Prize, Yeah, peace prize. It's just
- 29:13Speaker 4: it's is ridiculous. I mean, who cares. Uh, you know,
- 29:15Speaker 4: there's uh the fact that Obama got one in his
- 29:19Speaker 4: first month in office, was it was a gift. Was
- 29:22Speaker 4: it was mainly ad done. This president has has done
- 29:25Speaker 4: some real stuff and at the end of the day
- 29:27Speaker 4: here he will do some moral stuff again if he
- 29:29Speaker 4: doesn't get distracted.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but Reagan, as you say, it was a
- 29:32Speaker 2: movie star. He was a happy guy. But when you're
- 29:34Speaker 2: a billionaire and you've worked a lot of these billionaires, uh,
- 29:37Speaker 2: they're fighters. They're always fighting, they're away. That's how they
- 29:39Speaker 2: became billionaires. They're fighting fighting billionaires.
- 29:43Speaker 4: Yeah, well you and no president been surrounded by as
- 29:47Speaker 4: many billionaires as he is. They're in his cabinet, you know.
- 29:50Speaker 4: And and I think to a certain extent, uh, you know,
- 29:53Speaker 4: he didn't come in as a billionaire. He's now become
- 29:55Speaker 4: a billionaire. And I think to a certain extent of
- 29:57Speaker 4: chumulating money, uh is something that's important to him. Doing
- 30:02Speaker 4: deals is important to him. But what he's going to
- 30:04Speaker 4: do is make the country feel like they're benefiting every
- 30:07Speaker 4: every rain he does. And that's you know, it's it's
- 30:10Speaker 4: a challenge. It's a challenge every president has, but this
- 30:13Speaker 4: is a president once you know what we what are
- 30:16Speaker 4: we doing? Back in Pennsylvania, we argue in a stupid
- 30:18Speaker 4: ass actually six years ago. I mean that becomes a
- 30:21Speaker 4: news story today. What's he doing there? Why is he there?
- 30:25Speaker 4: And if you don't clearly lay out the why you're there,
- 30:28Speaker 4: which you shouldn't be, uh, talk about the future and
- 30:32Speaker 4: talk about people, talk about schools.
- 30:34Speaker 7: Uh.
- 30:39Speaker 4: He still has he still has a hero pall, but
- 30:41Speaker 4: it's still people love him. But and he pulls up
- 30:44Speaker 4: polarizing president. There's people like hey him. So when you
- 30:47Speaker 4: go to Iowa and you have seven hudred people, you
- 30:48Speaker 4: make a big deal out of going there and flying
- 30:50Speaker 4: Air Force one and what have you. And you have
- 30:52Speaker 4: in a very small stage. There's more people outside against
- 30:55Speaker 4: you than there are on a tourm for you. You
- 30:59Speaker 4: know that's not a picture. At the end of the day.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Control as much of an as you can, and you've
- 31:04Speaker 4: he's got the big plane, you've got the big staff.
- 31:06Speaker 4: You can control. No one doesn't rally as well that
- 31:08Speaker 4: he does. Nobody does performances when he does. He needs
- 31:11Speaker 4: to do it.
- 31:12Speaker 2: All right, Well, great stuff, great analysis, Ed Rollins, thanks
- 31:15Speaker 2: for being with us. We'll talk again soon, my pleasure.
- 31:17Speaker 2: All right, take care, take care. Hey, don't forget coming
- 31:21Speaker 2: up at noon today. They do a wonderful show every day.
- 31:24Speaker 2: You really learn a lot. Listen to Buck Sexton, Clay
- 31:26Speaker 2: Travis at noon today, then at three o'clock. You got
- 31:30Speaker 2: the most listened to radio show in America. And there's
- 31:34Speaker 2: reasons why it's the most listened to. Listening to it
- 31:37Speaker 2: today three o'clock Sean Hannity, then Jesse Kelly at six,
- 31:41Speaker 2: and every night at nine Jimmy Fala Boy, what a
- 31:44Speaker 2: great show. Really loves this show. It's got all kinds
- 31:47Speaker 2: of great guests and talk and topics, but it's also very,
- 31:49Speaker 2: very funny. He's also one of the great comedians, and
- 31:52Speaker 2: he'll be with us in the next hour Jimmy fail
- 31:55Speaker 2: at tonight at nine on seven to ten.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Wo here's more about Mark Show on wor.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Well, Hey, we'll get to Bruce Springsteen. Where do you
- 32:08Speaker 2: hear this new masterpiece. We'll get to Jimmy Failey. He'll
- 32:12Speaker 2: be with us a little later this hour. So, Mom, Donnie,
- 32:17Speaker 2: you know, he's like twelve years old, never had a
- 32:18Speaker 2: job before he gets elected mayor, and it's his first week.
- 32:22Speaker 2: He gets a major snowstorm and he gets a budget
- 32:25Speaker 2: crisis where we're gonna have a gappa like twelve billion
- 32:29Speaker 2: that has to be made up. Here's a guy who
- 32:30Speaker 2: never had a job, you know, no financial experience of
- 32:35Speaker 2: any kind. Now he's got to do all kinds of
- 32:40Speaker 2: emergency things to fill this budget cap. Now a businessman
- 32:43Speaker 2: looking at this would say, well, obviously you're overspending. You're
- 32:46Speaker 2: a city won city, and he got a budget of
- 32:49Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty billion, that's more than the budget
- 32:53Speaker 2: of most states. So you got to make cuts. You
- 32:55Speaker 2: got to cut. But you know, he doesn't know that
- 32:57Speaker 2: he thinks he has to increase taxes. Now he's blaming
- 32:59Speaker 2: it on everybody else. He's blaming it on Adams.
- 33:02Speaker 12: In twenty twenty five, under the banner of what he
- 33:05Speaker 12: called the best budget ever, former Mayor Eric Adams handed
- 33:08Speaker 12: the next administration a poisoned chalice. He's systematically under budgeted
- 33:13Speaker 12: services that New Yorkers rely on every single day, rental assistance, shelter,
- 33:19Speaker 12: and special education, while quietly leaving behind enormous gaps for
- 33:23Speaker 12: the future and knowing his time in office was likely
- 33:27Speaker 12: coming to an end. Mayor Adams chose political self preservation
- 33:31Speaker 12: over fiscal responsibility.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Okay, he's not wrong. Then, now you cannot blame mom
- 33:35Speaker 2: Donnie for this budget crisis. I just took over five
- 33:37Speaker 2: minutes ago, so it's not his fault. Adams was the
- 33:40Speaker 2: mayor for the last four years, so he left him
- 33:42Speaker 2: with this. He's also blaming Andrew Cuomo, which is good.
- 33:45Speaker 2: You should blame Andrew Cuomo for everything all the time.
- 33:48Speaker 2: But he explained it. If you want to save primarily
- 33:51Speaker 2: oh wait a minute, Oh we lost it. I lost
- 33:53Speaker 2: the cut. Sorry, but he basically explains Cuomo signing in
- 33:57Speaker 2: all these woke nonsense, crazy programs cost us money, and
- 34:00Speaker 2: then he used city money that was supposed to go
- 34:03Speaker 2: to the city, he diverted it to pay for whatever
- 34:05Speaker 2: crazy left wing stuff he wanted to pay for. Left
- 34:08Speaker 2: us with a big gap, so he got a deficit.
- 34:10Speaker 12: The prior mayoral administration has left us with a twelve
- 34:13Speaker 12: billion dollars fiscal deficit. And this is at a scale
- 34:16Speaker 12: that's actually greater than what we saw here in New
- 34:17Speaker 12: York City during the Great Recession. And it's something that
- 34:20Speaker 12: is attributable to gross fiscal mismanagement, to a refusal to
- 34:23Speaker 12: actually budget honestly and be direct with New Yorkers.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Now, it's hard to believe Erika Adams would do that.
- 34:29Speaker 2: I mean, looks looks to me like a financial genius.
- 34:32Speaker 2: You can't. But you got Adams who didn't know anything
- 34:37Speaker 2: about anything, and now you got mom Donnie, he's never
- 34:39Speaker 2: even had a job. There's the guy trying to fix it.
- 34:42Speaker 12: Good luck with This is what we saw in the
- 34:44Speaker 12: last year from the mayoral administration was there was a
- 34:46Speaker 12: recognition about the scale of this crisis. But instead of
- 34:50Speaker 12: actually being directed with New Yorker.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Now he's giving me a headache. Well, the state, Yeah again,
- 34:53Speaker 2: Cuomo and the states the problems. We don't get enough
- 34:56Speaker 2: from the state.
- 34:56Speaker 12: We look at the relationship between the city and the
- 34:58Speaker 12: state where New York City he's the economic engine of
- 35:01Speaker 12: the state of the country. And yet while we contribute
- 35:03Speaker 12: fifty four point five percent of the state's revenue, we
- 35:06Speaker 12: only received forty point five percent in return. And if
- 35:09Speaker 12: we had actually bridged that gap over the Cuomo years,
- 35:12Speaker 12: we'd be talking about receiving an eight billion dollars additional
- 35:15Speaker 12: every single year.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Well, he's great at explaining this. Fixing it. Now, that's
- 35:20Speaker 2: a different story. Anyway, Let's get to Bruce Springsteen. Now,
- 35:24Speaker 2: Bruce Springsteen, superstar. When you become a rock and roll superstar.
- 35:28Speaker 2: I remember Born to Run. Remember that album cover with
- 35:30Speaker 2: the motorcycle and the guitar and the wristbands, and he's
- 35:35Speaker 2: broken down on the highway with his hungry heart and
- 35:39Speaker 2: tramps like us. You remember this young, young, young guy,
- 35:43Speaker 2: and he's you know, in those days, when you're a
- 35:44Speaker 2: young rock and roll star, you're you know, you're out
- 35:47Speaker 2: every night, you're drinking, there's a million women, you're having fun,
- 35:50Speaker 2: You're right in your motorcycle. You're a happy guy. Now
- 35:53Speaker 2: when you become an old rock and roll star. When
- 35:56Speaker 2: you become an old, old, old senior citizen rock and
- 35:58Speaker 2: roll star, in any of that, he's sitting at home
- 36:02Speaker 2: every night. And you, you know, when you're a liberal,
- 36:04Speaker 2: left wing old person, what do you do? You watch
- 36:07Speaker 2: MSNBC and you get yourself riled up all night long.
- 36:11Speaker 2: You get very, very angry. You watch MSNBC, you watch
- 36:14Speaker 2: who's that de androgynous guy with the glasses? What's his name?
- 36:19Speaker 2: Chris Hayes. You watch Chris Hayes and he gets you
- 36:21Speaker 2: really mad.
- 36:23Speaker 7: And then.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Rachel Maddow comes on. Now you can't tell because they
- 36:27Speaker 2: both look alike. You can't tell which is which. But
- 36:29Speaker 2: Rachel Maddow comes on get you even angrier. And then
- 36:32Speaker 2: when she's done. You see, if you're an old person
- 36:35Speaker 2: like Bruce is, now you keep watching this all night
- 36:37Speaker 2: and then she goes off, and then the other guy,
- 36:39Speaker 2: Lawrence O'Donnell, comes on, and he gets you even more outraged.
- 36:44Speaker 2: And by the time it's eleven thirty, you're so riled
- 36:47Speaker 2: up and angry. And then you put on Colbert and
- 36:51Speaker 2: then he gets you angry or and angry. You watch
- 36:53Speaker 2: Jimmy Kimmel and by the time you're fired up. So
- 36:56Speaker 2: there's a very angry Bruce Springsteen. So he's got to
- 37:00Speaker 2: do something. He's compelled to act. He decides he'll write
- 37:04Speaker 2: a song. Now's the other thing is, when you're a
- 37:07Speaker 2: young Bruce Springsteen, it's one hit after another, it's just
- 37:10Speaker 2: pouring out hits. When you're a young Billy Joel, hit
- 37:13Speaker 2: song after hit, song after hit song after hit before
- 37:15Speaker 2: you know it. Now you got to put out another
- 37:17Speaker 2: best of album. Here's twelve more hit singles, Best Of
- 37:20Speaker 2: Volume six. Now, when you're an old rock and roll singer,
- 37:24Speaker 2: you're not gonna have any hit songs. It's your time
- 37:27Speaker 2: has gone for that. You can go around and do
- 37:29Speaker 2: massive concerts. You're the elder Statesman, but you're not gonna
- 37:33Speaker 2: have any hit singles. So, but you can't explain that
- 37:36Speaker 2: to these guys. They keep trying, they keep writing these
- 37:38Speaker 2: new songs. So Bruce decides he must act and maybe
- 37:43Speaker 2: in the process will come up with a major, major
- 37:45Speaker 2: hit song. So he's written a song about Minneapolis, about
- 37:49Speaker 2: the ice, about pretty being killed. And this is a masterpiece,
- 37:54Speaker 2: maybe possibly the greatest single song ever written. Well, first
- 37:58Speaker 2: of all, if I were Bob dying. I'd sue this
- 38:00Speaker 2: guy for plagiarism. Right now, it's trying to sound like
- 38:02Speaker 2: Bob Dohm. This is called the Streets of Minneapolis said,
- 38:06Speaker 2: He's on fire, the Occupiers boots, the poetry of Bruce
- 38:10Speaker 2: right now. If you're a fact checker, please don't do
- 38:12Speaker 2: this song. You'll get a headache, you'll just wear yourself out.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Everything in here is a lie. King Trump's private army.
- 38:17Speaker 2: It's not a private army. It's ice. That's the same
- 38:20Speaker 2: ice Biden used, the same ice Obama used more than Trump.
- 38:24Speaker 2: In fact, member he gave home in a medal for
- 38:26Speaker 2: ice and enforced the law, or so they claim. No,
- 38:30Speaker 2: these are actual written you can't claim it's a law.
- 38:33Speaker 2: It's a law book. You can go look it up.
- 38:35Speaker 2: These are all actual laws on the book. But on
- 38:38Speaker 2: the other hand, it's Bruce and he's a you know,
- 38:40Speaker 2: drugged up, a senior citizen rock and roll guy with it.
- 38:43Speaker 2: But don't try to fact check them voices or what
- 38:45Speaker 2: did he say, fighting for justice? Well, actually they're fighting
- 38:48Speaker 2: against justice. Ice is actually a forced enforcing laws on
- 38:52Speaker 2: the book, actual law enforcement, and they're in there trying
- 38:56Speaker 2: to block an obstruct law enforcement. Action, So he's gone
- 39:00Speaker 2: it again. Fact checkers, you can't got to admit this
- 39:04Speaker 2: part is kind of catchy musically, it's got like a
- 39:06Speaker 2: nice melody, and it's bouncy and bouncy and music melodically
- 39:11Speaker 2: it's but I don't know. The second you're talking about
- 39:14Speaker 2: a guy getting killed the tragedy, should you be so
- 39:16Speaker 2: bouncy and melodic about it?
- 39:18Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 39:19Speaker 2: We'll take our stand for this land, all right. That's
- 39:22Speaker 2: pretty good lyric writing. If it's the seventies, I don't
- 39:26Speaker 2: know it it's twenty sixteen. I don't know. See it
- 39:28Speaker 2: goes from bouncy pretty to like a federal flax. I
- 39:31Speaker 2: don't know. I'm getting text left and right. Please stop,
- 39:35Speaker 2: you're killing This is torture, I do. It's not a
- 39:38Speaker 2: bad song musically, I mean it's ridiculous. Will this be
- 39:41Speaker 2: a hit? What do you think? Will anybody play it?
- 39:45Speaker 2: Who could play it? I mean certainly not gonna be
- 39:48Speaker 2: on Z one hundred and I gonna hear this on
- 39:49Speaker 2: light FM, wou Q one OZ four play it? I
- 39:51Speaker 2: don't know. Are you rushing to download it right now?
- 39:54Speaker 2: Will it be a hit anywhere? Will it be viral online?
- 39:58Speaker 2: Alex pretty lay in the it snow dead. The melody
- 40:04Speaker 2: doesn't fit. It's kind of a happy it's kind of
- 40:07Speaker 2: like a hungry heart. It's too bouncy happy. It's like
- 40:09Speaker 2: dancing in the dark, kind of pretty. I don't know
- 40:13Speaker 2: all right, people are begging me stop, don't play anymore.
- 40:15Speaker 2: I can't take it. But that's the latest from Bruce.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Keep an eye on that. We'll see where it goes
- 40:20Speaker 2: if it's a big hit or not. Hey, President Trump,
- 40:24Speaker 2: he's got a great idea and he wants to do
- 40:27Speaker 2: these Trump accounts. So when you're born, a child is born,
- 40:32Speaker 2: an account is set up. Everybody will have an account
- 40:35Speaker 2: and the government will put one thousand dollars in that account,
- 40:39Speaker 2: and your parents can put money in, your employers could
- 40:42Speaker 2: put money in. But the idea is you'll have this account.
- 40:44Speaker 2: The government will automatically put one thousand dollars in your
- 40:47Speaker 2: little account as a baby, and it will grow and compound.
- 40:52Speaker 2: You can't take the money out. It'll just keep compounding
- 40:54Speaker 2: until you're eighteen. And as Warren Buffett always explains, the
- 40:58Speaker 2: biggest way to make money is compounding. You know the words.
- 41:01Speaker 2: You throw the money in and don't touch it, keep
- 41:03Speaker 2: reinvesting the profit, the dividends. It'll be in a stock account,
- 41:07Speaker 2: you know, some kind of fund. And if you don't
- 41:10Speaker 2: touch it the thousand dollars, you can't touch it till
- 41:12Speaker 2: you're eighteen. It's estimated by the time you're eighteen, it'll
- 41:15Speaker 2: be about three hundred thousand dollars in there, and if
- 41:20Speaker 2: you leave it till your twenty eighth birthday, it'll be
- 41:22Speaker 2: a million dollars. Now, once you're eighteen, you can start
- 41:25Speaker 2: taking money out, and there's government rules on this account.
- 41:31Speaker 2: When you take the money out, you're only allowed to
- 41:33Speaker 2: spend it on certain things. You're only allowed to spend
- 41:36Speaker 2: it for education expenses, you're allowed to spend it for
- 41:40Speaker 2: buying a home, or you can use it for retirement
- 41:43Speaker 2: income when you retire. And if you left it in
- 41:45Speaker 2: till the time you're retire, it'd probably be about I
- 41:47Speaker 2: don't know, ten million dollars. So it's not expensive to
- 41:50Speaker 2: do it for the government. In fact, it's cheaper than
- 41:54Speaker 2: other stuff. So these Trump accounts are going to be
- 41:56Speaker 2: a big thing. He mentioned it yesterday. Young children.
- 41:59Speaker 7: That's that with really nothing and what gives him, Boy,
- 42:04Speaker 7: it's more money than anybody could imagine.
- 42:08Speaker 2: It's a great idea. Even if you wait till you're eighteen,
- 42:11Speaker 2: take it out. You got three hundred thousand that'll pay
- 42:13Speaker 2: for your education. So it's a great, great idea. Of course,
- 42:17Speaker 2: Democrats will go nuts and denounce it like crazy, and
- 42:22Speaker 2: you'll hear a lot of fighting over it in Congress
- 42:24Speaker 2: and all of that stuff. Hey, you know, speaking of Minnesota,
- 42:28Speaker 2: don't worry, I'm not going to play the song again.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Speaking of Minnesota, you know, the Tim Waltz, the governor,
- 42:34Speaker 2: has to step down because of the Somali fraud. Nineteen
- 42:38Speaker 2: billion missing and he was too stupid to know, so
- 42:42Speaker 2: he has to leave office. He can't run for reelection.
- 42:45Speaker 2: So everybody's threatening to run for reelection. Republican candidates are
- 42:49Speaker 2: jumping in, even Mike Lindell, my pillow, Mike Lindell, and
- 42:54Speaker 2: he's a pretty charming guy, good salesman, he's a good talker.
- 42:58Speaker 2: So they started to get worried that somebody like Mike
- 43:01Speaker 2: Lindell could win as governor as the Republican. Now, remember
- 43:05Speaker 2: this is Minnesota, where they elect all kinds of characters.
- 43:08Speaker 2: They elected Jesse Ventura, the wrestler on a third party
- 43:12Speaker 2: as governor. And remember these voters are not exactly shrewd voters.
- 43:17Speaker 2: They elected Tim Waltz, they elected Mayor Fry, so they'll
- 43:21Speaker 2: elect anybody. Everybody but Lindell would have a real shot.
- 43:25Speaker 2: So Democrats are in they're very worried about this, very
- 43:28Speaker 2: very worried. So they decided that the most powerful, most
- 43:34Speaker 2: popular Democrat in the state needs to run to make
- 43:38Speaker 2: sure that they hold onto the governor's mansion, and that
- 43:40Speaker 2: would be Amy Klobucher, the Senator. So she's going to
- 43:43Speaker 2: have to give that up and run for governor because
- 43:46Speaker 2: she's most likely a guaranteed winner, and she's just announced
- 43:51Speaker 2: she will do it. She'll run for governor and pretty
- 43:54Speaker 2: much easily be the winner. Hey, the Washington Post, you know,
- 43:59Speaker 2: Jeff Bayot it years ago for about two hundred and
- 44:02Speaker 2: fifty million. But nobody reads these newspapers anymore. You know,
- 44:06Speaker 2: AM Talk radio has sixty three million people listening every day,
- 44:10Speaker 2: sixty three million newspapers. All the newspapers in America only
- 44:15Speaker 2: have twenty two million readers. So not a lot of
- 44:18Speaker 2: people reading newspapers, not a lot. So you got to
- 44:22Speaker 2: make cuts. Washington Posts, they've had to cut costs. Even
- 44:25Speaker 2: if you're Jeff Bezos a billionaire, you got to you
- 44:28Speaker 2: got to have, you know, a stable business. So they're
- 44:32Speaker 2: laying off people left and right. At the Washington Post.
- 44:35Speaker 2: They decided they'll get rid of the sports department because
- 44:38Speaker 2: let's be honest, if you're a big, big, big sports person,
- 44:41Speaker 2: you're not You're not going to the Washington Post for
- 44:43Speaker 2: their sports. They're not any good and there's a million
- 44:46Speaker 2: other places you can go get all of that. So
- 44:48Speaker 2: they're cutting it back. Everybody at the Washington Post up
- 44:51Speaker 2: in arms. There's going to be massive layoffs, but they'll
- 44:54Speaker 2: pay everybody to leave. A big, big payoff coming. But
- 44:58Speaker 2: they're furious. There's mutiny, there's they're threatening the walkout, which
- 45:02Speaker 2: is exactly what he wants. So it works out perfectly
- 45:05Speaker 2: for everybody. Where is Bruce. You're going to hear this
- 45:08Speaker 2: all day long on CNN and MSNBC. Anyway, we'll take
- 45:12Speaker 2: some calls. Next, eight hundred three two one zero seven
- 45:16Speaker 2: ten is the number. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 45:20Speaker 2: seven ten.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simone Show on woor Hey.
- 45:26Speaker 2: Let's take some calls. Let's go to Rich in Myrtle Beach.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Rich how you doing?
- 45:31Speaker 4: Thanks? Mark?
- 45:31Speaker 10: That Bruce Springsteed's song is horrible, sounds like every other
- 45:34Speaker 10: song he's written in the last ten years. I can
- 45:36Speaker 10: already see this. I could already see the Somali's in
- 45:39Speaker 10: the Chinese and the wheels of spinning trying to figure
- 45:42Speaker 10: out how they're going to get their hands on these
- 45:43Speaker 10: Trump accounts. Which is the biggest thing that worries me
- 45:46Speaker 10: is these people always figure out a way to scam something,
- 45:49Speaker 10: to get into something. And I'll bet you're already thinking
- 45:52Speaker 10: about it right now.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, they were smart to move to Minnesota because
- 45:55Speaker 2: you could steal nineteen billion in that idiotic governor and
- 45:57Speaker 2: didn't even notice and then even done.
- 46:00Speaker 10: But Chaw has really got a good chance of winning there.
- 46:02Speaker 10: I mean, why would you do it?
- 46:03Speaker 4: Mark?
- 46:03Speaker 10: Let me ask you, if you were a senator, why
- 46:05Speaker 10: would you give up being a senator to be a governor?
- 46:07Speaker 2: Well, because the party is asked her too. They don't
- 46:08Speaker 2: want to they don't want to lose that seat. They
- 46:11Speaker 2: know she's the one that can definitely win. She's the
- 46:12Speaker 2: most popular in Minnesota, so that's that important to him.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Let's go to Bill in Pennsylvania. Bill, how you doing Yo.
- 46:20Speaker 10: Mark, Well, I'm sorry my Boston accent.
- 46:26Speaker 2: You know another Boston accent?
- 46:30Speaker 10: Yeah, well I met you in the back of a cab.
- 46:32Speaker 6: You know that.
- 46:33Speaker 2: What are you talking about?
- 46:34Speaker 4: Ago?
- 46:34Speaker 2: Let are you talk about there?
- 46:35Speaker 10: But I want to.
- 46:38Speaker 2: What are you talking about? Back of a cab?
- 46:41Speaker 10: What?
- 46:42Speaker 2: Let's start over Bill from Pennsylvania? How you doing?
- 46:47Speaker 10: I would like to read hers the Reason ancient history here?
- 46:52Speaker 10: But the Prince de Blasio?
- 46:56Speaker 2: Who is you know? This day drinking? It's not a
- 46:59Speaker 2: good thing. First of all, it's a dry January. You
- 47:01Speaker 2: shouldn't be doing this right now.
- 47:03Speaker 4: Well, you know, a few lips in the morning.
- 47:05Speaker 2: It's cold here, I know, get your heart started. All right? Well,
- 47:09Speaker 2: thanks for slowing us down here. Let's go to uh
- 47:12Speaker 2: Bill in Brooklyn. Bill, how you doing? How you doing good?
- 47:16Speaker 4: I'd just like to talk about that Springsteen song.
- 47:19Speaker 10: I don't know if he's hitting a sauce again because.
- 47:22Speaker 4: I couldn't understand a word he was saying.
- 47:23Speaker 10: Oh he could hear. It's like, shut the hell up
- 47:28Speaker 10: my earl of bleeding.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Yeah no, it was Uh, he's getting more and more.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Bob Dylan, Is she's very Bob Dilanis she ever talked
- 47:36Speaker 2: to Bob Dylan in person. Hey, how are you? You
- 47:39Speaker 2: can't hear one thing he says. Do you know where
- 47:42Speaker 2: Bob Dylan has his apartment in New York? I don't
- 47:44Speaker 2: know if he still has it, but he had it
- 47:45Speaker 2: there for years. Where would you think of Bob Dylan
- 47:48Speaker 2: would have purchase an apartment in New York? Trump Tower?
- 47:54Speaker 2: Bob Dylan owned an apartment in Trump Tower. Just see
- 48:00Speaker 2: him explain that. You know, he dresses like a scarecrow.
- 48:02Speaker 2: He walks around all musty and dusty and tries to
- 48:05Speaker 2: look like he's a sharecropper. He's got an apartment in
- 48:08Speaker 2: Trump Tower. What kind of phony is this? Let's go
- 48:11Speaker 2: to Lauren in New Jersey. Lauren, how you doing?
- 48:14Speaker 4: Hey, Mark?
- 48:15Speaker 13: Well, they're all phonies. So yeah, mister pathetic, irrelevant. You know,
- 48:21Speaker 13: there's a reason why his name is Bruce Springsteen because
- 48:23Speaker 13: his initials are bs. And that's you know basically what
- 48:26Speaker 13: it is.
- 48:27Speaker 2: You're from New Jersey and I'm supposed to attack Bruce.
- 48:30Speaker 7: Oh.
- 48:30Speaker 13: I can't stand Bruce never. I could never stand him.
- 48:33Speaker 13: You know, all the girls in high school like Bruce,
- 48:35Speaker 13: and I'm like, uh, I don't get it.
- 48:38Speaker 2: So well, where are you in New Jersey, Morris County. Okay,
- 48:44Speaker 2: did we say that, No, Land, You know they say
- 48:46Speaker 2: that to people. We're not from New Jersey. We don't
- 48:48Speaker 2: know which county is which. If you said the town,
- 48:50Speaker 2: I might know.
- 48:52Speaker 13: Okay, Well, I'm west of Morristown.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Oh okay, see I know where that is. But they
- 48:58Speaker 2: I know where Bergen County is. The other counties, I
- 49:00Speaker 2: don't know where they are. It's like when they say
- 49:01Speaker 2: the exit number or from somewhere else, we don't know that.
- 49:05Speaker 13: Yeah, we'll venture out here, Mark, I.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Go out to New Jersey. I love New Jersey. It's
- 49:09Speaker 2: beautiful there. But I don't memorize the exit numbers. Like
- 49:11Speaker 2: if I said Maine exit thirty seven, do you know
- 49:14Speaker 2: where that is?
- 49:17Speaker 12: No?
- 49:17Speaker 7: Mark?
- 49:19Speaker 6: Yeah so?
- 49:19Speaker 13: But yeah, Mark, So, I can't imagine how many cars
- 49:22Speaker 13: were driving off the road. But please, oh my god,
- 49:25Speaker 13: like the guy said, our ears are bleeding.
- 49:26Speaker 6: So oh.
- 49:31Speaker 2: All right, all right, calm down, calm down. We won't
- 49:35Speaker 2: play it anymore. Let's go. We got time for one more.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Let's go to Robert in Westchester. Robert, how you doing
- 49:43Speaker 2: doing well?
- 49:43Speaker 6: Mark? Thank you for taking my call.
- 49:45Speaker 4: Mark.
- 49:46Speaker 6: The thing that I do understand is how is it
- 49:48Speaker 6: that Ice becomes the bad guy. How is it the
- 49:50Speaker 6: president becomes the bad guy? Jos and Hungry Lake and Riley.
- 49:55Speaker 6: Why isn't that phil Flo Springsteen write a song about
- 49:58Speaker 6: the torture and the help those women went through and
- 50:01Speaker 6: their families. This is absurd.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Well, you can get away with this stuff when you
- 50:06Speaker 2: got the full cooperation of mainstream media. When they back
- 50:09Speaker 2: you up on this, you can say whatever the hell
- 50:11Speaker 2: you want. They'll back you up on it.
- 50:13Speaker 6: Those people will have to face judgment before God one
- 50:16Speaker 6: day because this nation is here for a reason to
- 50:20Speaker 6: protect the rest of civil wars.
- 50:21Speaker 2: No, I know what you're saying, but let's just be honest.
- 50:24Speaker 2: Let's be totally honest. If what's the name Renee Good
- 50:29Speaker 2: and Alex Pretty, if they had been killed by illegal aliens,
- 50:34Speaker 2: you never would have seen it on the news. It
- 50:36Speaker 2: would never make the networks. It would never get mentioned
- 50:38Speaker 2: on MSNBC, never mentioned. It wouldn't be in the New
- 50:41Speaker 2: York Times. You'd never hear about it. Oh, when we
- 50:44Speaker 2: come back, Jimmy Fayla will be with us. He's great,
- 50:46Speaker 2: very funny, does a great show every night at nine.
- 50:49Speaker 2: We'll talk to him next on seven to ten w
- 50:52Speaker 2: R Shoes. Well, Jimmy Fayla, the great talk.
- 50:59Speaker 8: Yo.
- 51:00Speaker 2: He's a great comedian and he's on every night here
- 51:02Speaker 2: on w o R nine to midnight. Excellent show nine
- 51:06Speaker 2: to midnight. And you also want to watch his late
- 51:08Speaker 2: night show. It's the best one in television every Saturday night.
- 51:11Speaker 2: There's no better monologue anywhere in television. And even President
- 51:16Speaker 2: Trump has come out and said so, he's a huge fan.
- 51:19Speaker 2: It's Saturday nights at ten on the Fox News Channel.
- 51:22Speaker 2: Jimmy Fayla, How you doing good?
- 51:25Speaker 7: Thank you for that Trump plug. You know what dawned
- 51:28Speaker 7: on me though, Mark, It's uh, you know, Trump tweeting
- 51:30Speaker 7: about your show and saying it's good is a great
- 51:33Speaker 7: thing until you realize you're a joke away from him
- 51:36Speaker 7: tweeting about your show a second time.
- 51:40Speaker 2: But I'll Sayale the cab Driver Jimmy Saylor. But also
- 51:46Speaker 2: it makes you nervous right now. You know he's watching
- 51:48Speaker 2: every week. Now you got to think about that.
- 51:49Speaker 4: Oh no, I like it.
- 51:51Speaker 7: In comedy, it's the great it's a great thing. I
- 51:53Speaker 7: didn't stand up when he was at the Patriot Awards. Yeah,
- 51:55Speaker 7: And the magic trick of comedy is you don't read
- 51:59Speaker 7: the room.
- 51:59Speaker 2: You have to lead the room.
- 52:00Speaker 7: Somebody hands you a microphone, you have to be so
- 52:03Speaker 7: in charge. It's like, do you want a guys robbing
- 52:05Speaker 7: a bank and he fires a shot into the ceiling
- 52:07Speaker 7: to get everybody's attention. That's kind of how you do
- 52:10Speaker 7: comedy when you've got like a really powerful audience, because
- 52:14Speaker 7: if you don't have the whole bank's attention, you ain't
- 52:17Speaker 7: getting out of there with.
- 52:18Speaker 2: The money man. Yeah, don't work. Explain that again. So
- 52:20Speaker 2: you don't read the room. Don't worry about what the
- 52:23Speaker 2: lead through room? How do you lead the room? Yes, comedy, that.
- 52:26Speaker 7: Is the thing when you Yes, when you are a comic, Okay,
- 52:30Speaker 7: you control the conversation, the tone, the tenor the entire
- 52:34Speaker 7: vibe in the room, because you're the only guy with
- 52:36Speaker 7: a microphone.
- 52:37Speaker 8: Like the room is silent and they're listening to what
- 52:39Speaker 8: you have to say.
- 52:41Speaker 2: So you lead the room.
- 52:42Speaker 7: What I mean by that is get the room to
- 52:44Speaker 7: the energy you want it to be and for your
- 52:46Speaker 7: jokes to work. Make sure they know you're bargaining with
- 52:48Speaker 7: them in good faith. You know, you want to be pleasant,
- 52:51Speaker 7: you want to be upbeat. But the thing is every
- 52:53Speaker 7: joke needs to come with perspective, because that's what makes
- 52:56Speaker 7: it okay. When comics get in trouble, it's because they
- 52:59Speaker 7: look malicious or they don't. You know, they look like
- 53:04Speaker 7: they're saying something for purposes other than laughter. You know,
- 53:07Speaker 7: that's the biggest knocking, like a Kimmel or a Colbert,
- 53:10Speaker 7: is they're doing. They're making editorial statements, and that's why
- 53:14Speaker 7: it's not working. Okay, you don't come to the comedy
- 53:17Speaker 7: show to get a condescending lecture from that liberal and
- 53:20Speaker 7: who ruins Thanksgiving. But that's what Colbert is every night, even.
- 53:24Speaker 8: Last night with the ice stuff.
- 53:26Speaker 7: It's you know, so is my job as a comic
- 53:28Speaker 7: is to lead them to this like feel good place
- 53:30Speaker 7: where they don't have to agree with me to laugh
- 53:32Speaker 7: because I'm not saying anything other than this is what happened.
- 53:37Speaker 2: This is why it's funny.
- 53:38Speaker 7: That's it.
- 53:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you know you watch don Nicholson once in a while,
- 53:41Speaker 2: aligned with bomb or get no laugh. He couldn't care less.
- 53:44Speaker 2: He would just crank it up ten more notches and
- 53:46Speaker 2: keep going. And so that's a good way to lead
- 53:49Speaker 2: the room. Hey, speaking of Colbert, so last night he
- 53:51Speaker 2: makes this awful joke about how the Nazis are better
- 53:54Speaker 2: than Ice. What the hell is he thinking? Yep, but
- 53:59Speaker 2: that's the.
- 53:59Speaker 7: Point when he's editorializing about Ice, and that's exactly why
- 54:03Speaker 7: his show's getting.
- 54:04Speaker 8: Deported on the first CPS is throwing it out.
- 54:08Speaker 7: Of here because he's again, he's what he's doing in
- 54:13Speaker 7: his room, Okay, is he's obviously catering to a very
- 54:17Speaker 7: one dimensional mindset. Okay, we all have liberal friends, good
- 54:21Speaker 7: liberal friends, okay, who like to run on like a
- 54:24Speaker 7: moral superiority. They're good people, they're your friends, you like them.
- 54:27Speaker 7: I'm not disparaging them. But he caters to a crowd
- 54:29Speaker 7: of people that want to believe they're better than everybody else.
- 54:33Speaker 7: So if you say, like, oh, Ice is worse than
- 54:35Speaker 7: the Nazis and the white supremacists who vote for Trump,
- 54:38Speaker 7: that allows his audience to go, eh, at least I'm.
- 54:41Speaker 4: Not those people. You know, I know better, but they
- 54:44Speaker 4: don't know better.
- 54:45Speaker 7: Who is I supporting? Okay, they're going to have to
- 54:47Speaker 7: sex offenders, you know, they're not trying to exterminate a
- 54:50Speaker 7: race of people. Come on, man, embarrassing.
- 54:53Speaker 2: So if you watch Fox News at night, Jesse Waters
- 54:56Speaker 2: is clowning around and Hannity, it's all a lot of
- 54:58Speaker 2: information and seriously put that clown there having fun. Then
- 55:01Speaker 2: gutt Field, you watch MSNBC. This guy's angry as hell.
- 55:05Speaker 2: Then Rachel Maddow comes up, she's even madder than Lawrence
- 55:07Speaker 2: o'dnald comes out, he's twice as angry. Who watches this
- 55:10Speaker 2: kind of stuff? Why would you want to get so
- 55:11Speaker 2: riled up at night?
- 55:13Speaker 7: I know, because it really, like MSNBC is just group
- 55:17Speaker 7: therapy with hair and makeup.
- 55:19Speaker 8: It's like imagine you were imagine you were going to a.
- 55:21Speaker 7: Support group, but everybody there got their face powdered beforehand.
- 55:25Speaker 8: That's essentially what it is.
- 55:27Speaker 7: And that and that's who's watching it, like for real,
- 55:30Speaker 7: Like the demographic of an MSNBC viewer is usually a
- 55:34Speaker 7: white liberal, like Lawrence o'donald's age, you know, fifty sixty
- 55:38Speaker 7: plus that you know, just it. He was saying the
- 55:41Speaker 7: other day, Lawrence o donald was the one who said
- 55:43Speaker 7: that New York City plowing the streets was socialism, And
- 55:46Speaker 7: I was like, dude, the Department of Sanitation plowed the streets.
- 55:50Speaker 7: They did a phenomenal job. I dare you to go
- 55:53Speaker 7: walk into one of their garages and tell the guy
- 55:55Speaker 7: with the neck tattoo he's a socialist. I'm like, it's
- 55:58Speaker 7: not gonna end good for you, Lawrence so Donald. But
- 56:00Speaker 7: that's the point. It's the confirmation bias. People are watching
- 56:04Speaker 7: for confirmation bias, and that's not comedy. If if you're
- 56:08Speaker 7: telling them just what they want to hear, you're not
- 56:10Speaker 7: being a comedian.
- 56:11Speaker 8: You're supposed to tell him jokes.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Yeah, So explain Don Lemon to me. The guy doesn't
- 56:16Speaker 2: even have a job. He's out of work and he's
- 56:18Speaker 2: going to Minnesota. He's busting into churches. What's he doing
- 56:21Speaker 2: this for?
- 56:24Speaker 7: It's the thing so Don Lemon is obviously playing. It's
- 56:26Speaker 7: called the rage bait game. You know, you post provocative
- 56:30Speaker 7: things that'll get people mad and they'll click on your
- 56:33Speaker 7: video and be like, oh show you, and you know,
- 56:36Speaker 7: you make money and you get attention. But what he's
- 56:38Speaker 7: essentially doing is just projecting all of his anger on
- 56:42Speaker 7: to the rest of the.
- 56:42Speaker 8: Country because he's mad because no network.
- 56:44Speaker 7: Will hire him because he was a pain in the
- 56:46Speaker 7: ass man, Like I met him a few times. Did
- 56:48Speaker 7: you ever meet him at any of these media mixers
- 56:50Speaker 7: we go to.
- 56:50Speaker 2: No, but I met him, you know, socially he's very
- 56:53Speaker 2: nice and he's a polite and he smiles. But I
- 56:55Speaker 2: never had to work with the guy.
- 56:57Speaker 7: No, But what happened was he to this place where
- 57:01Speaker 7: his only job was to go on TV and tell
- 57:03Speaker 7: you it was racist. And for a while there that
- 57:06Speaker 7: was like a fashionable thing.
- 57:07Speaker 8: But it was so lazy and.
- 57:10Speaker 7: Reductive and devoid of any real context that it made
- 57:14Speaker 7: him worse at his job. Like he was better at
- 57:16Speaker 7: his job in twenty twelve than he was two years
- 57:18Speaker 7: ago or even right now, but he got more fame
- 57:21Speaker 7: the worse he got at his job. Meaning that's racist,
- 57:23Speaker 7: that's crazy, that's racist. In the grievance era of like
- 57:26Speaker 7: the outrage Bob.
- 57:27Speaker 8: That made him a bigger deal, you know, because he had.
- 57:30Speaker 7: More oppression points than the other woke liberals. You know,
- 57:33Speaker 7: he was black, he was gay, so in the in
- 57:35Speaker 7: the liberal hierarchy of grievance, like you.
- 57:37Speaker 6: Had to deify him, and he got away with that
- 57:40Speaker 6: until he did it, you know.
- 57:42Speaker 7: And the fact that they didn't want to work with
- 57:43Speaker 7: him anymore is something that we're getting the bill for
- 57:46Speaker 7: now because he's just trying to upset everybody.
- 57:48Speaker 4: On social media.
- 57:49Speaker 7: Yeah, he's he's just basically Joy Reid with a wig on.
- 57:54Speaker 2: You know, I don't know what to tell you. Hey,
- 57:57Speaker 2: elon Omar. You know that guy came up and sprayed
- 57:59Speaker 2: some all over. It looked very dangerous. But I'm watching
- 58:02Speaker 2: the whole video. You know, it's fascinating when the guy
- 58:04Speaker 2: does that and he looks like a raging maniac. She
- 58:07Speaker 2: actually charges the guy. You're pretty brave she runs at
- 58:10Speaker 2: the guy. You have a credit for that.
- 58:14Speaker 7: Yeah, man, I mean, you know, I don't know. They
- 58:17Speaker 7: said it was apple cider vinegar, and I guess that's
- 58:19Speaker 7: what it was. I knew it wasn't wine because her
- 58:22Speaker 7: vineyard was fake. Yeah, she's a beast. She might get
- 58:26Speaker 7: pop for that. Yeah, But the point is, like, you know,
- 58:29Speaker 7: obviously that's another sign that everybody needs to chill out.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Okay.
- 58:34Speaker 7: Half of my feet is like, oh it was fake.
- 58:36Speaker 8: I'm like, all right, we're not going to do that.
- 58:38Speaker 4: Because I have liberal.
- 58:39Speaker 7: Friends who still think Trump faked getting shot. I'm like,
- 58:41Speaker 7: well he faked it so well he got a guy killed.
- 58:43Speaker 7: I mean, come on, man, it's crazy.
- 58:45Speaker 2: Wow.
- 58:45Speaker 7: So I'm trying to take the edge off Mark Simon
- 58:48Speaker 7: and that's why I hang out with mister New York
- 58:50Speaker 7: and can I mention, by the way, because so many
- 58:52Speaker 7: of your listeners come up to me on the street
- 58:53Speaker 7: and say hello on Sixth Avenue. If anybody wants to
- 58:56Speaker 7: come to my show, the tickets are free if you
- 58:58Speaker 7: go to Fox Across the Marya dot com. You can
- 59:01Speaker 7: go to Fox News Saturday night. You don't have to
- 59:03Speaker 7: make me tell you jokes on the sidewalk. You can
- 59:05Speaker 7: let me tell you jokes in the studio. I have
- 59:08Speaker 7: three of your listeners different three different times this week.
- 59:11Speaker 7: I was walking up to get my Greek food.
- 59:13Speaker 2: And hey, say hello to mister New York.
- 59:15Speaker 4: I'm like, why don't you come to my show? So
- 59:17Speaker 4: I don't have to perform on a street corner.
- 59:19Speaker 7: I left the prostitution business years ago.
- 59:21Speaker 2: Yeah, excellent, man. Jimmy Faylor has the best late night
- 59:23Speaker 2: show on television on Saturday nights ten o'clock. You can
- 59:26Speaker 2: watch it and you don't have to be there Saturday
- 59:28Speaker 2: night ten. You tape it earlier, right.
- 59:30Speaker 7: So yeah, we tape it up Friday nights.
- 59:32Speaker 2: Come by okay, Hey free?
- 59:35Speaker 8: Yeah, Foxcross America dot com.
- 59:36Speaker 2: Great way to spend a Friday night and a great
- 59:38Speaker 2: the date night thing to do Friday night. And so
- 59:41Speaker 2: you can be in the audience.
- 59:42Speaker 7: Where do you go Fox New Foxacross America dot Com.
- 59:47Speaker 7: You'll be hanging out with me in the Fox Foxes.
- 59:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:49Speaker 7: If you're on a date, don't look at the Foxes.
- 59:51Speaker 7: But if you're there single, yeah, have some fun, all right,
- 59:54Speaker 7: just don't get good stuff.
- 59:56Speaker 2: Yeah, tickets to Jimmy Faylo's TV show and make sure
- 59:58Speaker 2: you're listening to them tonight nine o'clock. What do you
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: got on tonight's radio show?
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: Oh, we're getting nuts tonight Byron Donald Azzan. He might
- 1:00:05Speaker 7: be the next governor of Florida. An author by the
- 1:00:08Speaker 7: name of Madison Malloy who's a great gal, super funny,
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: but she's filthy, like worse than a sailor in prison
- 1:00:15Speaker 7: in terms of her dialogue. So it's gonna be a
- 1:00:18Speaker 7: couple of beeps on the show tonight in New York.
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: I'm telling you in advance.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: All right, Well, Jimmy Fail is on here on WOOR
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: every night nine to midnight. Don't miss it, and make
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: sure watch this Saturday night show at ten o'clock and
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: Foxacrossamerica dot Com you can get tickets to be in
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: the audience there. Jimmy Fayli, great stuff, thanks for being
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: with us. Get to man Mark alright, take care. Yeah,
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: he's a great show every night at nine right here
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: on seven to ten.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Wor mister New York Marximoni wor.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Well, Hey, yeah, getting back to mom Donnie talking about
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: the budget gap. We got this budget gap coming up
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: twelve billion. How do you make it up? Well, normally,
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: any common sense leader management CEO type would just cut costs.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: You'd slash the budget. If we got a twelve there's
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: nothing but waste, fraud and bloating that budget. You just
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: cut it down easy. But if you're a crazy left
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: wing Democrat, all you can think is raise taxes. Now,
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: you might say, well, mom, Donnie can't raise taxes. That's
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: up to the state. And Kathy Hochel is running for
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: reelection this year. She's not going to raise taxes in
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: an election year. But but Mom Donnie has made clear
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: to her he's still got his army. You know, these
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: people that got him elected, these army of organizers, this
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: army of people online, and they could go after her
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: in an election year. So that gives him some power
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: over her, some leverage. She does not want the Mom
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Donnie crowd, especially the Mom Donnie strategists, organizers, everything working
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: against her, so he can push her into certain things.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: So that's the that's the bad news. And as I
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: said before, the good news is city council is very powerful,
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: as powerful as a mayor in some ways. And you've
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: got a new city council speaker who, although a Democrat,
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: she's a very moderate, common sense Democrat. She's the first
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: Jewish speaker of the city Council, already forming an anti
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Semitism task force. So she's a very very good counter
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: to Mom Donnie. So that's the good news. Hey, we're
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: out of time. I'll be back tomorrow. Here every day
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: ten to noon, or you could listen to the show
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: anytime you want. If you can't listen live, listen to
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: the podcast that way, you can hear it anytime day
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: or night. Also, remember, if you're a podcast listener, you
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: get an extra show, a bonus segment on the weekend.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: So see tomorrow at ten. Thanks a lot, thanks for everything.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Back tomorrow on seven to ten. WR
