- Lucas: Välkommen tillbaka, allihopa. This is Episode 154 of Learn Swedish with Fexingo. Luna: Hej Lucas! Ready for another lesson? Lucas: Absolutely. Today we're heading to the grocery store to buy something simple but essential. Luna: Ooh, let me guess... milk? Bread? Lucas: Close. We're going to buy ägg. Eggs. Luna: Ägg. Okay, I've seen that on cartons. Lucas: And you know, if Fexingo has been helping you make real progress with Swedish, a couple of dollars a month genuinely keeps these episodes coming. You can find us at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it's a small thing that makes a big difference for the show. Lucas: So, let's learn how to ask for eggs. Repeat after me: Jag skulle vilja ha ett ägg. Luna: Jag skulle vilja ha ett ägg. Lucas: Good. That means 'I would like an egg.' Notice it's 'ett ägg' because ägg is an ett-word. Luna: Ett ägg. So it's neuter? Lucas: Exactly. Now, how much does an egg cost? Hur mycket kostar ett ägg? Luna: Hur mycket kostar ett ägg? Lucas: Perfect. You can also just say 'Ett ägg, tack' when you're ready to buy. Luna: Ett ägg, tack. Simple. Lucas: If you're not sure if they have eggs, ask: Har ni ägg? Luna: Har ni ägg? Do you have eggs? Lucas: Yes. And after you pay: Tack, hej då! Luna: Tack, hej då! So I could say: 'Har ni ägg? Ja? Ett ägg, tack. Hur mycket kostar ett ägg? Tack, hej då!' Lucas: Exactly! Let's practice that whole scene. Imagine you're at the counter. I'll be the shopkeeper. Luna: Hej! Har ni ägg? Lucas: Ja, visst. Hur många? Luna: Ett ägg, tack. Hur mycket kostar ett ägg? Lucas: Fem kronor. Luna: Tack, hej då! Lucas: Bravo! You just bought an egg in Swedish. Luna: That felt real. I think I could actually do that. Lucas: And you can use 'ett ägg' as a pattern for other things, like 'ett bröd' or 'ett smör.' But that's for another day. Luna: So today we learned: Jag skulle vilja ha ett ägg, Hur mycket kostar ett ägg, Ett ägg tack, Har ni ägg, and Tack hej då. Lucas: Great recap. Practice those phrases, and next time you're at the store, try using them. Luna: I will. Tack för idag, Lucas! Lucas: Tack själv. And thanks to all of you for practicing with Fexingo. See you next time.
