- 0:01Speaker 1: Enough is enough.
- 0:05Speaker 2: I have had it.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Why so serious?
- 0:08Speaker 4: And we hold the world ransom for Wayne Gandy.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Excuse me while I whip this out. Show me.
- 0:15Speaker 5: Broadcasting live in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 0:18Speaker 1: This, this is the Sports Chalk Show with Wayne Gandy. Welcome, welcome, welcome!
- 0:47Speaker 5: You're listening to the Sports Shock Show. I am the
- 0:49Speaker 5: Sports Shock, Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you out there
- 0:53Speaker 5: in listening land. Glad to be here with you on
- 0:56Speaker 5: this beautiful Thursday morning.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 1:00Speaker 5: Comanche Greg. Good morning, Big Kenny, the funny man himself.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Good morning, bad producer. It is Thursday, so Thursday night
- 1:07Speaker 5: football coming to you. The 0-4 Bucs taking on the
- 1:13Speaker 5: 2-2 Dallas Steelers. Cowboys, Dak Prescott in offense has been
- 1:20Speaker 5: humming this year, even in the losses. But they're trying
- 1:23Speaker 5: to figure things out on defense. As you know, the
- 1:26Speaker 5: big trade last week, bringing Joey Porter Jr. from Pittsburgh
- 1:29Speaker 5: down there to try to solve some issues in the secondary.
- 1:34Speaker 5: But Dallas and this whole season, I know a lot
- 1:37Speaker 5: of programs start off with this idea that they're supposed
- 1:40Speaker 5: to be this dominant team. Well, first, it's only been
- 1:43Speaker 5: four games. So how would you know which team is
- 1:45Speaker 5: going to really dominate? Because just like the Eagles and
- 1:51Speaker 5: other teams we saw last year with the Chiefs, not
- 1:55Speaker 5: only do you have to have the personnel, you have
- 1:58Speaker 5: to pray that the personnel stays healthy. Because when it doesn't,
- 2:04Speaker 5: like the Washington Commanders, then things can fall to the
- 2:09Speaker 5: wayside very quickly. same Falcons, any team like that. Now,
- 2:14Speaker 5: there are some teams you can get a good view of,
- 2:17Speaker 5: like the 0-4 Bucs, the 0-4 Texans, the 0-4 Chargers,
- 2:23Speaker 5: where you're kind of confused. Now, the Bucs, with Baker
- 2:26Speaker 5: Mayfield in that finger, give them a little of why
- 2:30Speaker 5: they're 0-4. Why is the Texans?
- 2:34Speaker 1: No clue.
- 2:36Speaker 5: Why are the Chargers?
- 2:38Speaker 1: No clue.
- 2:40Speaker 5: And it's hard. And I'm quite sure if we Google,
- 2:42Speaker 5: they'll probably tell us, you know, one team in the
- 2:45Speaker 5: history have ever started off 0-4 or something like that
- 2:49Speaker 5: and made the playoffs. That's where all three of these
- 2:53Speaker 5: teams are, where if the Bucs drop tonight to the Cowboys,
- 2:58Speaker 5: they're 0-5. It doesn't matter when Baker Mayfield comes back
- 3:01Speaker 5: then because you got to take an 0-5 team and
- 3:05Speaker 5: go 10 and whatever, 1. Two in the next rest
- 3:13Speaker 5: of the season. Can you imagine that? We're going to
- 3:16Speaker 5: go from 0-5 to 10-2. That's just a little, that's
- 3:21Speaker 5: a task. And that's why they would probably tell you
- 3:25Speaker 5: that is one. Because when you drop that many teams
- 3:27Speaker 5: that are 3-1, 2-2, you know, you're right there. But
- 3:33Speaker 5: where you might want to go. So the Bucs, all
- 3:36Speaker 5: the pressure on them. This is the season. This is jobs.
- 3:39Speaker 5: Todd Bowles, different players. As you know, Mike Evans went
- 3:44Speaker 5: out to the 49ers. He was a big part of
- 3:47Speaker 5: their offense for Baker. But Dallas always under pressure of
- 3:52Speaker 5: winning and winning well. That's one of the things, too.
- 3:57Speaker 5: People just don't want Dallas to win. They think that
- 4:00Speaker 5: Dallas is posed to, like, blow people out. Putting on
- 4:05Speaker 5: the cowboy and the star does not make us all
- 4:10Speaker 5: Deion and Troy Aikman. It just doesn't. I know that's
- 4:14Speaker 5: what you want to believe. And there's windows of time.
- 4:17Speaker 5: It's like we're seeing with the Eagles. You will see
- 4:20Speaker 5: with the Chiefs, even with Patrick Mahomes there. There will
- 4:23Speaker 5: be a window of time where– Just saying Kansas City
- 4:28Speaker 5: Chiefs that don't scare nobody. You don't have the personnel
- 4:33Speaker 5: that don't just make you better because of that. That's
- 4:37Speaker 5: not how sports really work. Everybody has their dominant time.
- 4:42Speaker 5: The Bulls of the 90s and the Bulls of now,
- 4:47Speaker 5: where I would ask you to name me three players
- 4:49Speaker 5: on the Bull, and you would probably scratch at number two.
- 4:53Speaker 5: You would say it unsured. Is he sitting there? You're
- 4:57Speaker 5: just out this side. You'll be saying it.
- 4:58Speaker 1: That one guy. That other guy.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Remember the guy they traded from?
- 5:01Speaker 1: I'm for.
- 5:03Speaker 5: Excuse me. They traded for. I'm saying, who the one?
- 5:06Speaker 5: I'm trying to come up with the one. But Thursday
- 5:09Speaker 5: night football tonight, the Bucs. Big game on the college landscape. Typically,
- 5:16Speaker 5: we get this action in the SEC championship. But they're
- 5:20Speaker 5: going to do the dance. Almost wanted to call the
- 5:23Speaker 5: football guards. Like, look now, this– You don't give them this.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Why not?
- 5:28Speaker 5: You don't start them off with the blue magic.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Why not? It's certified. We stand by it. No, you
- 5:34Speaker 1: don't start them off there. You just give them a little.
- 5:37Speaker 1: You don't really give them Bama, Georgia. Yes, you do.
- 5:41Speaker 5: Right now. That's just, you should have canceled that matchup.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Why?
- 5:45Speaker 6: Why?
- 5:45Speaker 1: We're paying billions of dollars for this stuff.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Come on, man.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Come on, man.
- 5:50Speaker 7: We pay billions of dollars for this stuff. We trying
- 5:53Speaker 7: to flood the.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Streets with it.
- 5:55Speaker 1: We need it now. What are we going? What are we?
- 5:58Speaker 1: Let's get high around Christmas. No. Let's flood the streets now.
- 6:03Speaker 5: We need it.
- 6:04Speaker 1: We're itching. We're fiending. It's calling me. Alabama, Georgia, every
- 6:09Speaker 1: other weekend.
- 6:10Speaker 5: And see, that's the issue with us in this country.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Oh, come on.
- 6:13Speaker 5: They're already selling Christmas stuff.
- 6:16Speaker 8: And?
- 6:17Speaker 5: Christmas is.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Ten weeks away. Who wants to get caught behind? You've
- 6:22Speaker 1: skipped over Halloween, Thanksgiving, and anything in between. The Halloween
- 6:26Speaker 1: stuff was before Labor Day.
- 6:27Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying.
- 6:28Speaker 1: What did they really bring into the table?
- 6:31Speaker 7: We kind of merged Christmas and Halloween with the pumpkin thing.
- 6:34Speaker 7: I mean, Halloween and Thanksgiving. Two different celebrations.
- 6:37Speaker 9: I know.
- 6:37Speaker 6: But they both involved pumpkins.
- 6:42Speaker 1: So kind of we can, you know. Good morning.
- 6:45Speaker 10: The good thing is, Even though the weather, they're still
- 6:48Speaker 10: saying they're going to play the game. So that's been
- 6:51Speaker 10: the big talk, whether or not, if they were going
- 6:54Speaker 10: to move it to Sunday.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So hopefully they keep it on.
- 6:57Speaker 6: Or can it be moved to Friday? I've read Friday
- 7:00Speaker 6: was a possibility.
- 7:02Speaker 5: Okay. Whatever day it's still, whether it's any time. It's
- 7:06Speaker 5: still who's coming down the track. In the next 72 hours,
- 7:08Speaker 5: 94 hours. The mean machine. They can move it to
- 7:11Speaker 5: Monday night. It doesn't really matter.
- 7:12Speaker 7: Because the overriding, the pervasive– mindset here is that when
- 7:18Speaker 7: you got an event this huge that generates this much revenue,
- 7:23Speaker 7: they'll find a place for it.
- 7:24Speaker 5: They can move it to the bins.
- 7:26Speaker 7: Because other events like this would just get canceled. They
- 7:29Speaker 7: would just say, let's not have it. They'll find a
- 7:31Speaker 7: place for this. If they have to do it at NASA.
- 7:35Speaker 7: That would be a whole lot of flipping.
- 7:38Speaker 1: That means they didn't try.
- 7:39Speaker 5: No, it's not a lot of flipping. The Falcons have
- 7:42Speaker 5: a game Sunday night. So.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Say a TV crew just stay there? The whole?
- 7:50Speaker 5: No, it'll be on CBS. Yeah, it don't really matter who.
- 7:55Speaker 5: They're going to come for this kind of game. They're
- 7:57Speaker 5: going to make it happen and the fans are going
- 8:00Speaker 5: to follow if the storm allow.
- 8:03Speaker 1: And sit wherever they have to sit wet.
- 8:05Speaker 5: You're still going to be surprised of how many people
- 8:08Speaker 5: that quickly. Now, the people that's going to be mad
- 8:12Speaker 5: is the Tuscaloosa Hotel. And the gas stations. And those
- 8:17Speaker 5: people are going to be upset.
- 8:18Speaker 1: And the Old Charlie's in the Outbacks.
- 8:21Speaker 7: And Raising Cane's is stacking it up this weekend.
- 8:24Speaker 1: They ready.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Those are the people that are going to be mad.
- 8:28Speaker 5: But the fans are going to get right back in
- 8:30Speaker 5: them cars. Well, and half of them are just driving
- 8:33Speaker 5: back home anyway.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 8:35Speaker 5: They drive right back to Georgia. This was how they
- 8:37Speaker 5: was coming home anyway. So, you know, back down 20
- 8:41Speaker 5: or however you get back to, yeah, 20 probably is
- 8:44Speaker 5: the major highway to take you from Georgia.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I'm sure.
- 8:47Speaker 5: To Tuscaloosa, take you to 65 and then get down
- 8:50Speaker 5: the highway. I remember I went to school in Alabama.
- 8:55Speaker 5: But great game on that level. Watch out for the
- 8:58Speaker 5: storms no matter where you are. Keep an eye on
- 9:03Speaker 5: what's going on. It does seem like every year some
- 9:10Speaker 5: type of storm is causing college football to have to
- 9:15Speaker 5: make different arrangements. And I can't remember.
- 9:20Speaker 7: There was a time before where weather affected a game
- 9:24Speaker 7: and they had to reschedule the game entirely.
- 9:28Speaker 1: They weren't able to move it.
- 9:29Speaker 7: A day before or after they had to move it
- 9:31Speaker 7: to the middle or the end of the season or
- 9:34Speaker 7: something like that.
- 9:35Speaker 1: It's happened a few times.
- 9:39Speaker 5: They try to move it to the buys if they
- 9:41Speaker 5: are on the same, if they can figure a way
- 9:43Speaker 5: to do it on a buy week. And sometimes that's
- 9:48Speaker 5: why they actually add buy weeks to be able to
- 9:51Speaker 5: do that. But that is the big game on the
- 9:53Speaker 5: college level. Texas taking on Oklahoma, but Oklahoma is not.
- 9:57Speaker 5: up to par as they usually are are, but it's
- 10:00Speaker 5: still a big rivalry. But to be able to bring
- 10:03Speaker 5: you the SEC championship in October is something. And both
- 10:10Speaker 5: of these teams are going to be doing this. And Tuscaloosa, Alabama,
- 10:13Speaker 5: the home team.
- 10:14Speaker 6: What I wanted to ask you, like having this program
- 10:18Speaker 6: big of a game this early in the season, there
- 10:23Speaker 6: are no divisions anymore with the SEC. Georgia and Alabama
- 10:28Speaker 6: were in opposite divisions.
- 10:31Speaker 1: East and west.
- 10:32Speaker 6: So with there being no divisions anymore and now they
- 10:36Speaker 6: have to play nine conference games, we may see this
- 10:41Speaker 6: a little more, but should they go back to divisions?
- 10:46Speaker 5: I didn't like that they moved to non-division. I used
- 10:52Speaker 5: to love the West and the East. I don't like this.
- 10:55Speaker 5: We're just all one. We don't do it in the NFL.
- 10:59Speaker 5: We don't do it in any. I think the, who
- 11:05Speaker 5: does this? And I'm still.
- 11:07Speaker 1: We've been calling for it.
- 11:10Speaker 6: I mean, the closest you get is maybe the WNBA
- 11:13Speaker 6: where their playoffs is just one through eight rather than East-West.
- 11:17Speaker 5: Correct.
- 11:18Speaker 7: And a lot of what's been going on with college
- 11:21Speaker 7: football in the last several seasons has me wondering exactly
- 11:24Speaker 7: what the hell y'all talking about. I don't even recognize
- 11:28Speaker 7: the game the way they play it anymore. The conferences
- 11:31Speaker 7: have shifted... The team.
- 11:34Speaker 5: What happens is coaches and fans get their final season
- 11:39Speaker 5: and they go 11-1 or whatever, 12-0, and somebody else
- 11:43Speaker 5: is 12-0 but beat them and they feel like, oh,
- 11:47Speaker 5: we're now 11-1.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Why should we, because we're.
- 11:50Speaker 5: In the East, still not get to go play because
- 11:54Speaker 5: our record is better than the team in the West. So, hey,
- 11:59Speaker 5: how about just take it all out and Everything is
- 12:03Speaker 5: a race tradition to get what I want.
- 12:07Speaker 1: It was before.
- 12:08Speaker 7: And again, what they want is Bama, Georgia, every other weekend.
- 12:12Speaker 7: It's a billion-dollar seller. But before expansion.
- 12:16Speaker 10: It wasn't the East or the West because the ACC,
- 12:18Speaker 10: when it was just like 10 or 18, it.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Was never a division.
- 12:22Speaker 10: So it wasn't– this is– the split part of it
- 12:26Speaker 10: just came in once they started expanding the conferences in
- 12:29Speaker 10: the 90s.
- 12:30Speaker 5: You got 16 teams, eight should be in the East.
- 12:34Speaker 5: If you win the East, you go. And if you
- 12:36Speaker 5: win the West, you go. And you live with what
- 12:39Speaker 5: you have. It became that the bad producer wanted– he
- 12:43Speaker 5: didn't like that he was 11-1. And somebody in the
- 12:47Speaker 5: West was 10-2, and they went.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Facts. So he needed it all grouped. So he could
- 12:57Speaker 1: always up his advantage. No.
- 12:59Speaker 5: Of when he went on. That's why when they say
- 13:03Speaker 5: they need to go to nine, well, if you ain't
- 13:05Speaker 5: going to have no division, right, then all 12 games
- 13:10Speaker 5: should be conference games. The NFL don't play– Outside the NFL.
- 13:15Speaker 5: You know, they play NFL teams. But what about.
- 13:17Speaker 10: The FCS schools who need the money to play those games?
- 13:21Speaker 1: It's all in the power conferences. Right.
- 13:23Speaker 5: So, to me, for an SEC diehard, I don't know
- 13:29Speaker 5: why they erased it. We'll be back. More of the
- 13:33Speaker 5: Sports Chalk Show right after this. Don't go away.
- 13:47Speaker 11: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 13:50Speaker 11: coming up next.
- 13:55Speaker 12: Returning military vets. They've served our country at home and abroad.
- 13:59Speaker 12: They've slept in tanks, foxholes, and even.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Out in the weather.
- 14:03Speaker 3: They've had our backs.
- 14:05Speaker 1: We have theirs.
- 14:06Speaker 3: The Sports Chalk Man of Honor, Mr.
- 14:07Speaker 12: Scott Holliday, CEO of Mattress Heroes USA, is giving back

- 14:52Speaker 13: Talking about guns with others might not always feel comfortable,
- 14:55Speaker 13: but it could save a life. Here's a way to
- 14:57Speaker 13: start a conversation. Your family is going over to your
- 15:00Speaker 13: neighbor's home for dinner for the first time. How would
- 15:02Speaker 13: you ask if there are any unlocked guns in the home?
- 15:05Speaker 2: Hey.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Hey, we're so excited for tonight. Before we come over, though,
- 15:08Speaker 1: may I ask if there are any unlocked guns in
- 15:11Speaker 1: your home?
- 15:11Speaker 14: Our guns are stored securely, locked in a safe that
- 15:14Speaker 14: the kids can't access.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 15:17Speaker 13: Learn how to have the conversation at agree2agree. org. Brought to
- 15:20Speaker 13: you by the Ad Council.
- 15:22Speaker 2: There's danger out there. It lurks on highways and quiet
- 15:25Speaker 2: neighborhood streets. It's more likely to kill you than a
- 15:28Speaker 2: shark and more terrifying than the biggest snake. Distracted driving
- 15:32Speaker 2: claims lives every day. Every notification, swipe, social post, video,
- 15:37Speaker 2: or selfie while driving risks your life. So while you
- 15:40Speaker 2: might think public speaking or the zombie apocalypse is scary,
- 15:44Speaker 2: what's really terrifying and even.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Deadly is distracted driving. Eyes forward.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Don't drive distracted.
- 15:50Speaker 15: Brought to you by NHTSA and the Ad Council.
- 15:55Speaker 12: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Ganty. The
- 16:00Speaker 12: Jock of the Day is sponsored by MattressHeroesUSA.com. The sleep
- 16:04Speaker 12: you deserve at a price you can afford. Now, it's
- 16:08Speaker 12: time to present the Jock of the Day on the
- 16:10Speaker 12: Sports Jock Show.
- 16:11Speaker 3: He's taking it to a completely different level this year.
- 16:14Speaker 12: Where we highlight an athlete that has taken their game
- 16:17Speaker 12: to the next level.
- 16:18Speaker 1: All right.
- 16:24Speaker 5: You got two of them. Thank you. We see notes.
- 16:25Speaker 15: Thank you.
- 16:25Speaker 1: We see notes.
- 16:26Speaker 7: I got to see.
- 16:27Speaker 16: I got to see.
- 16:27Speaker 1: All right. What's that?
- 16:45Speaker 17: Tracy.
- 16:45Speaker 5: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports
- 16:47Speaker 5: Shock Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you out there in
- 16:51Speaker 5: listening land. Glad to be here with you. Got the
- 16:53Speaker 5: crew in this morning. Big conversation over the last couple
- 17:00Speaker 5: of days. Coming from Sunday, and it was centered mainly around,
- 17:07Speaker 5: once again, with the advent of technology and viewership being
- 17:16Speaker 5: at such an all-time high. Referees come under scrutiny. The
- 17:25Speaker 5: fan in the stand, the fan with any mobile device,
- 17:30Speaker 5: the fan at home, all want the gentleman on the
- 17:36Speaker 5: field to be completely precise in every, just like the television.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Like the referee, first of all, like it's happening in
- 17:48Speaker 5: that speed. And he's supposed to be 100.
- 17:52Speaker 1: He got all angles. At all times. You got all
- 17:58Speaker 1: 12 angles. I didn't know it was 12 angles to
- 18:03Speaker 1: a plate. I thought it might have been about four.
- 18:05Speaker 7: Like there's one from each side, so the four corners
- 18:08Speaker 7: and the overhead cam.
- 18:10Speaker 1: And you say there are 12?
- 18:11Speaker 5: It's probably more than 12. They want it from the top.
- 18:15Speaker 5: They want it from the back, the front, all the
- 18:18Speaker 5: sides from underneath.
- 18:19Speaker 7: I did see a replay, and they did about 12 angles,
- 18:22Speaker 7: and I was amazed. I was like, man, they got
- 18:24Speaker 7: cameras like everywhere.
- 18:25Speaker 1: There's at least a camera on every player on the field.
- 18:28Speaker 5: And that's how the– Now, I can give you that,
- 18:34Speaker 5: but you got to be okay with me adding 45
- 18:37Speaker 5: minutes to the football game. Minimum for every time something
- 18:46Speaker 5: comes into question. But that's what the fan want. They
- 18:49Speaker 5: want to, and this is why I'm trying to say,
- 18:51Speaker 5: stop holding the referee to a standard that is not possible. Yes,
- 18:59Speaker 5: they get one or two things wrong. Sometimes they take,
- 19:02Speaker 5: but they're never going to give it to you like
- 19:05Speaker 5: you watched it on TV.
- 19:08Speaker 1: And it didn't happen. It didn't happen that slow.
- 19:13Speaker 5: When CBS and Fox and ABC all slow it down
- 19:17Speaker 5: and they're slowing you there.
- 19:26Speaker 1: There.
- 19:26Speaker 6: There.
- 19:28Speaker 1: See his hand right there?
- 19:29Speaker 5: That's where he grabbed the jersey.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Your eyes didn't. He just pinched the jersey right there.
- 19:34Speaker 1: That should have been a holding call. I'm asking this.
- 19:36Speaker 1: And they missed it. What happened to the days when
- 19:39Speaker 1: we used to just take their word for it? Remember that?
- 19:42Speaker 7: When you say, hold it, number 22 on defense, and
- 19:46Speaker 7: we be.
- 19:46Speaker 5: Like, oh, 22. You got to do better. Technology. It's
- 19:53Speaker 5: all technology. I know the bad producer over here doing
- 19:55Speaker 5: the Johnny Munzel thing is not money. What's money is
- 20:00Speaker 5: the kickoff. What's money is when they move the extra
- 20:05Speaker 5: point back to the 30. Those are money things. The
- 20:12Speaker 5: refereeing is technology. The fan is able to see things
- 20:19Speaker 5: in a way that is not humanly possible. He can't
- 20:24Speaker 5: see from above, underneath, from behind, and in front all
- 20:30Speaker 5: at the same time. I don't think he's trying not
- 20:36Speaker 5: to get the call right. He just don't have all
- 20:40Speaker 5: those angles. The toe didn't tap as it did on
- 20:45Speaker 5: the replay. It just didn't.
- 20:49Speaker 1: You didn't see it with your human eyes. You did not.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Because your human eyes don't transmit in 4K ADP. Or HDP.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Is it HD or ADP?
- 21:00Speaker 6: They're supposed to see that the little pebbles pop up.
- 21:03Speaker 6: When he drags his foot. So I don't know why
- 21:06Speaker 6: we're taking so much time.
- 21:07Speaker 1: You should have saw that in real time.
- 21:09Speaker 7: And see, this is where I'm confused. We've already got
- 21:12Speaker 7: the replay rule. So you want even more assurance than
- 21:18Speaker 7: the replay rule?
- 21:19Speaker 5: They want all plays to be precise. They want all holding.
- 21:27Speaker 5: All little touches of the face mask. They don't even
- 21:31Speaker 5: want just the light brush where I really wasn't hitting
- 21:34Speaker 5: you in the face mask. They want all and any
- 21:39Speaker 5: action on everything to be analyzed like it is on television.
- 21:46Speaker 5: They want that. They want that HDR, HP9, whatever it
- 21:51Speaker 5: is they are selling at Best Buy right now. And
- 21:54Speaker 5: then we bash the referees into this, oh, you're not
- 21:58Speaker 5: perfect mentality.
- 22:01Speaker 7: In the 4K' s defense, it is a really nice picture.
- 22:07Speaker 10: Not in defense of the players or the referees. Do
- 22:09Speaker 10: you think the players are hearing a lot of this
- 22:12Speaker 10: chatter and that's causing the emotional... outbursts and from the
- 22:18Speaker 10: players is going with, with the officials. Now this is, No,
- 22:22Speaker 10: you always had official player interaction. But now it's like...
- 22:27Speaker 10: What do you think? What can you imagine? The players
- 22:30Speaker 10: are basically turning into the fans. Well, if it's... I
- 22:34Speaker 10: want this call. Can you not look at the instant replay?
- 22:37Speaker 10: They looking at their coach like they're doing this as
- 22:40Speaker 10: a player instead of like.
- 22:42Speaker 7: If you've ever... When you played, it was totally different,
- 22:45Speaker 7: you say. If you've ever dealt with children and... You
- 22:48Speaker 7: say no, they go look for an authority figure who
- 22:51Speaker 7: might say yes. With you having the option to get
- 22:55Speaker 7: somebody to question me. I'm sure that would elevate some.
- 23:00Speaker 7: That don't only happen with children. That's adult situations like that. Well,
- 23:04Speaker 7: I'm saying, and that is the players now. There used
- 23:07Speaker 7: to be they didn't have anybody to supersede the authority
- 23:10Speaker 7: of the referee. They were the last word. And now
- 23:14Speaker 7: I've got a, hey, man, ask, go get uncle replay.
- 23:18Speaker 10: Because if I see a player doing like that, I'm
- 23:20Speaker 10: the coach, and then we lose the challenge, man, you
- 23:22Speaker 10: sitting down the rest of the game.
- 23:23Speaker 5: We'll be back. More of the Sports Talk show. Continue
- 23:27Speaker 5: on the officiating. A couple of things. Suspensions. A reversal
- 23:32Speaker 5: as well. That and much more right after this break.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 23:50Speaker 11: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is

- 24:01Speaker 3: But we do have one question for the veterans listening.
- 24:04Speaker 18: When is the last time you reached out for help?
- 24:08Speaker 13: If you or someone you know needs resources, whether it's

- 25:34Speaker 19: Why should it be any different for us kids and
- 25:36Speaker 19: our cell phones? Distracted driving was the cause of more
- 25:39Speaker 19: than 3,000 deaths in 2022.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Come on, we're smarter than this.
- 25:44Speaker 19: Let's put down the phones and focus on the roads.

- 25:59Speaker 3: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Ganty.
- 26:18Speaker 21: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show.
- 26:28Speaker 1: I'm the Sports Talk Wayne again.
- 26:30Speaker 5: The two NFL referees, Adrian Hill and Jeff Seaman, for
- 26:36Speaker 5: their punishment, they were suspended for a game. The NFL
- 26:41Speaker 5: Referees Association believes the suspensions imposed by on the two
- 26:46Speaker 5: officials following these incidents from last weekend were a little
- 26:52Speaker 5: harsh and excessive and inconsistent with past precedent. Guys, I
- 27:01Speaker 5: saw these two blowups. One happened in Minnesota. One happened
- 27:04Speaker 5: in the Cardinals game and Minnesota. I think the other
- 27:09Speaker 5: one was, was it? It was a, I know it
- 27:12Speaker 5: was the Giants-Cardinals game. Giants-Cardinals game, and then it was
- 27:15Speaker 5: the Vikings, I think, whoever they were playing. But those
- 27:21Speaker 5: two inofficials for yelling at Cardinals star tight end Trey
- 27:27Speaker 5: McBride was one where you could hear the ref because,
- 27:32Speaker 5: you know, we watch everything on.
- 27:35Speaker 1: On with microphones everywhere. Everything's mic'd. Everything and everyone. Players
- 27:39Speaker 1: are mic'd.
- 27:41Speaker 5: This is just football.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I agree with the Referee Association.
- 27:45Speaker 5: This was not suspension. This is a warning or some
- 27:50Speaker 5: kind of you don't get to work with this crew.
- 27:55Speaker 5: Maybe this violates you from getting into the playoff. You
- 28:01Speaker 5: might not get on a playoff refereeing team. But this
- 28:05Speaker 5: is not a situation of.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Suspensions.
- 28:11Speaker 5: I don't know when and how and why NFL, especially,
- 28:19Speaker 5: became rated G type television. When they started selling detergent
- 28:28Speaker 5: during the halftime commercials.
- 28:30Speaker 1: It used to just be beer.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Well, it's still mostly beer and Sidney Sweeney up there
- 28:37Speaker 5: with no clothes on.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I kind of like that.
- 28:40Speaker 5: Excuse me?
- 28:41Speaker 1: Gambling. Gambling.
- 28:43Speaker 5: All the vices that we have seen. And then dog
- 28:48Speaker 5: food and detergent. Well, I see very little detergent. Very
- 28:53Speaker 5: little dog food. And very little dog food. I see cars, alcohol.
- 28:57Speaker 1: That's before or after the game. Maybe those are the
- 28:59Speaker 1: 1 o'clock games. Yeah, those are the early games. Those
- 29:03Speaker 1: are the early games when the kids still getting out
- 29:05Speaker 1: of church.
- 29:06Speaker 5: But all I see is Buffalo Wild Wings and things
- 29:10Speaker 5: like that. But referees, players, I have said before, I
- 29:18Speaker 5: used to like when the referee would say something off-color.
- 29:22Speaker 5: to me when I played all those years because then
- 29:25Speaker 5: that allowed me to go into him. Until then, he
- 29:28Speaker 5: has to say something first.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And it can just be anything other than what needs
- 29:33Speaker 1: to be.
- 29:33Speaker 5: It don't have to be like derogatory. It doesn't have
- 29:36Speaker 5: to be curse words.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Watch yourself, big man.
- 29:39Speaker 5: You should have said that.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Yeah, it's on. Watch yourself, big man. Well, if you
- 29:46Speaker 1: long nose. Wait a minute. I was trying to tell
- 29:51Speaker 1: you to be careful.
- 29:52Speaker 5: And all I needed was anything outside, and then we
- 29:55Speaker 5: can go at it. And maybe even after the next time,
- 29:59Speaker 5: I'll check the referee and get his name. So when
- 30:02Speaker 5: I see him again, hey, Scott, F you.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Again.
- 30:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm picking up from the last game. Yeah, I'm
- 30:11Speaker 5: picking up. It still wasn't holding. It still wasn't holding. Yeah,
- 30:16Speaker 5: take that little long. I saw you, little son.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you can go anywhere with it. What
- 30:21Speaker 1: happened with that? Y'all have decided that we don't need to. Y'all.
- 30:25Speaker 1: You think that's part of it, though? Remember, I like
- 30:27Speaker 1: the Sidney Sweeney and alcohol ads. Remember, I'm the guy
- 30:31Speaker 1: on some keep all of that in the middle of
- 30:33Speaker 1: the afternoon.
- 30:34Speaker 6: That might be part of it because now, like, everybody
- 30:37Speaker 6: knows the referees' names and what they do in the
- 30:41Speaker 6: offseason because they have other jobs. they get graded and
- 30:47Speaker 6: that stuff becomes like public information. So I think, well,
- 30:52Speaker 6: what I mean now with these referees being suspended for
- 30:55Speaker 6: something that the kind of conversations they may normally have,
- 30:58Speaker 6: I think the one in Minnesota like overreacted because he
- 31:00Speaker 6: didn't know the, okay, the guy didn't push you down
- 31:03Speaker 6: on purpose. He got pushed into you. But I think
- 31:06Speaker 6: that because fans have that information on these referees, Now
- 31:11Speaker 6: it's something they feel like they have control over. And
- 31:14Speaker 6: the NFL has caved to fans saying, oh, he should
- 31:19Speaker 6: get suspended for talking too much.
- 31:21Speaker 5: So you ain't going to call Derek Thomas offside?
- 31:23Speaker 1: Mr.
- 31:23Speaker 9: Ref.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I'm working with you. I'm working with you.
- 31:26Speaker 5: We started like that.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Mr.
- 31:27Speaker 17: Ref.
- 31:28Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 31:28Speaker 5: I'm working with him.
- 31:30Speaker 1: From the fan perspective, I don't think that is understood.
- 31:33Speaker 23: Mr.
- 31:33Speaker 5: Ref, you ain't going to call him? He's offside, Mr.
- 31:35Speaker 11: Ref.
- 31:36Speaker 1: I'm going to take a look at it, big guy.
- 31:37Speaker 1: I'm going to take a look at it.
- 31:39Speaker 5: What number?
- 31:40Speaker 1: Give me the number now.
- 31:41Speaker 5: But we're in the third quarter, Mr.
- 31:42Speaker 11: Ref.
- 31:43Speaker 1: But I told you I'm going to be looking. I'm watching.
- 31:45Speaker 1: We're watching. I told the partners to keep an eye
- 31:47Speaker 1: on that situation.
- 31:47Speaker 7: Yeah, because as a referee, you've got a POV that
- 31:50Speaker 7: we do not have.
- 31:52Speaker 5: What do you think?
- 31:53Speaker 1: Mr.
- 31:53Speaker 23: Ref.
- 31:54Speaker 5: I'm telling you. Oh, so you ain't going to answer me?
- 31:56Speaker 10: Man, I'm not talking today. I just told you that
- 31:58Speaker 10: we're going to look at it. Don't take that. Do
- 32:01Speaker 10: you want to stay out here today or what?
- 32:03Speaker 5: Mr.
- 32:03Speaker 11: Rel.
- 32:05Speaker 5: Oh, it's going to be like that.
- 32:06Speaker 10: Oh, I'm going to go to my partner. He ain't
- 32:08Speaker 10: getting no calls. I'm tired of him calling my name today.
- 32:11Speaker 5: F you too.
- 32:11Speaker 1: All right, well, watch me. I got control.
- 32:14Speaker 5: And that's how it just snowballs into that. Yeah, that's
- 32:17Speaker 5: how it go. You ain't going to call that? Because
- 32:20Speaker 5: I think you should call it. You don't think you
- 32:21Speaker 5: should call it. You do your job and I'm going
- 32:23Speaker 5: to do my job. That's what, didn't you tell them
- 32:25Speaker 5: something like that? And they'll hit you with, big man,
- 32:28Speaker 5: or they'll hit you with, don't be soft.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh. Yeah, that's a good one right there. That's
- 32:35Speaker 1: a good one right there. My blood pressure just went off.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Did he just say soft out here? Don't be soft. Oh,
- 32:40Speaker 1: just quit crying. And you know what?
- 32:43Speaker 5: And that's how they, you know, come over there and
- 32:46Speaker 5: pat you. Rookies don't get that. What you mean rookies don't? Man,
- 32:50Speaker 5: I'm bleeding. Rookies don't get that. You got to bleed
- 32:54Speaker 5: as a rookie.
- 32:54Speaker 1: You got to bleed.
- 32:56Speaker 5: It's always going to be like that.
- 32:58Speaker 1: And let me ask you this.
- 33:00Speaker 7: As someone with a POV that no one else at
- 33:03Speaker 7: this table has, to hear that from someone who is
- 33:06Speaker 7: supposed to be regulating the game's.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Rules, rookies don't get that.
- 33:12Speaker 7: This person may have never actually played, and now they're
- 33:16Speaker 7: dictating what rookies get. How does that make you feel?
- 33:19Speaker 7: How does that make a player feel? Oh, the rewards
- 33:24Speaker 7: have to be earned.
- 33:26Speaker 15: Okay.
- 33:26Speaker 1: And that's how it typically is. You know how that
- 33:28Speaker 1: was when you started in high school.
- 33:30Speaker 8: Right.
- 33:30Speaker 5: It was the same thing. If they knew which grade
- 33:33Speaker 5: or you was in college, if you're up and coming
- 33:36Speaker 5: or in A, we're going to have to beat Bama
- 33:40Speaker 5: and the refs today.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Because we got a big Kenny Johnson out there refereeing.
- 33:49Speaker 5: And you know his son, they used to do all
- 33:51Speaker 5: this kind of research. So if the whistle blowing, if
- 33:55Speaker 5: anything's on the edge, on the fringe, Bama going to
- 33:59Speaker 5: get the call. So we go into the game knowing
- 34:02Speaker 5: that we just going to have to overcome. Don't even
- 34:05Speaker 5: look for these people to bail you out today.
- 34:07Speaker 15: Okay.
- 34:08Speaker 5: They're going to give it all. They call that what?
- 34:10Speaker 5: Home field advantage.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:14Speaker 7: A lot of people think home field advantage is just
- 34:16Speaker 7: playing at your stadium.
- 34:19Speaker 5: No, I didn't see that. They'd be sitting there, so
- 34:21Speaker 5: you didn't see that. You're saying Mr.
- 34:24Speaker 16: Rel.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Man, I was caught up into Charlie. Charlie, that dude
- 34:30Speaker 1: got a golf club. He can hit me with the
- 34:31Speaker 1: golf club, Charlie. Man, you didn't hear the man playing that?
- 34:34Speaker 1: You don't see this dude with his golf club, Charlie.
- 34:36Speaker 5: What I'm saying is, sure, you might not want this
- 34:38Speaker 5: on television, but I saw these two incidents. Nothing was suspended.
- 34:45Speaker 5: It was a mark, you know, in their jackets. that, okay,
- 34:50Speaker 5: just like all referees for bad calls and different things,
- 34:54Speaker 5: you wonder why some get on the playoff crew, which
- 34:57Speaker 5: is more money for them. Why some get to the finals,
- 35:00Speaker 5: they get those grades, and they're grades, and typically they
- 35:03Speaker 5: try to keep them on as crews. They try to
- 35:06Speaker 5: keep them on as crews. I call games on Friday
- 35:10Speaker 5: for the high school. We're always hoping for this one crew,
- 35:14Speaker 5: not because– We know them personally, but when we work,
- 35:19Speaker 5: they work quick. So they don't have to have the
- 35:22Speaker 5: five-minute meeting all the time. They keep the flow. They
- 35:26Speaker 5: pre-game real well. And the R's, he know, hey, look. Yeah,
- 35:29Speaker 5: they get in, so you don't have to sit there
- 35:31Speaker 5: and keep making up stuff in between while y'all discussing.
- 35:35Speaker 5: Because remember, we're still on air, and we're up here
- 35:38Speaker 5: having to just go through some stuff.
- 35:39Speaker 1: So there's one crew we work with, like, we are hoping.
- 35:42Speaker 5: Because they are, when he called whatever he called, that's it.
- 35:46Speaker 5: Don't call it or not.
- 35:50Speaker 7: Now, I think it was last season, the season before
- 35:54Speaker 7: this one with Major League Baseball, they instituted the.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Pitch counting clock and like a robot. Pitch clock.
- 36:02Speaker 6: And the robot umpire. Automatic ball strike system.
- 36:06Speaker 24: Right.
- 36:07Speaker 7: Are we going that direction in the NFL? Before you
- 36:10Speaker 7: know it, will there be some sort of fail-safe, technologically
- 36:16Speaker 7: advanced entity?
- 36:17Speaker 5: It's already there. They already have it. That's what I'm saying.
- 36:22Speaker 5: They already do the... we're going to send it to
- 36:26Speaker 5: the home.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Okay. What is it? Send it to New York, the
- 36:29Speaker 1: home base. Home office. Where they look like they working
- 36:33Speaker 1: for the CIA. Yeah, man, you go in the tent.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Used to you go in the tent.
- 36:36Speaker 10: The referee had that on decision right there on the spot,
- 36:39Speaker 10: but now they got to talk to somebody else who
- 36:42Speaker 10: in New York who's looking at all the central location
- 36:44Speaker 10: that's looking at all the cameras.
- 36:45Speaker 1: In the UFL, they have their eye in the sky.
- 36:49Speaker 6: They have like someone who's really the, who is the
- 36:52Speaker 6: replay official there, but they can, they can call something
- 36:57Speaker 6: based on how they're watching it on the screen.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Eye in the sky. Don't Ron Burgundy and them already
- 37:03Speaker 1: have that? Well, it's not a helicopter.
- 37:05Speaker 5: I'm just offering, as we go to break, I'm just
- 37:07Speaker 5: offering that olive branch to get you to understand that
- 37:13Speaker 5: the view you're having through your technology and the view

- 37:23Speaker 5: He would have to be refereeing in virtual glasses to
- 37:27Speaker 5: see the different things at the different times. Don't say that.
- 37:31Speaker 1: They're going to put us in them.
- 37:33Speaker 5: Excuse me?
- 37:34Speaker 10: They're going to put us in them glasses. That's going
- 37:36Speaker 10: to be a requirement. They're going to wind up putting
- 37:40Speaker 10: us in those glasses.
- 37:41Speaker 7: Even then, it would have to be downloaded to the

- 40:38Speaker 4: Oh, log on so you can see the sports J-O-C,
- 40:42Speaker 4: even bigger.
- 40:45Speaker 5: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports
- 40:47Speaker 5: Talk Wing Kenny. Good morning to you. Commander Greg Big Kenny,
- 40:50Speaker 5: the bad producer in the building. We did have one comment,
- 40:53Speaker 5: big comment.
- 40:54Speaker 7: Elder Casey Lamar Huey has been following the conversation in
- 40:58Speaker 7: real time. He's asked questions as pointed as should we
- 41:04Speaker 7: use AI in certain situations. He believes that too many
- 41:07Speaker 7: times bad or missed calls have dramatically changed the outcome
- 41:11Speaker 7: of of some situations and games. And then he asked,
- 41:15Speaker 7: what about the umpire that didn't like the way the
- 41:18Speaker 7: pitcher was wearing his hat?
- 41:20Speaker 1: Should this type of authority be given?
- 41:23Speaker 5: Yeah, it should be given or not given. I think
- 41:25Speaker 5: you can make a rule on which they do it
- 41:29Speaker 5: with everything else with the uniform.
- 41:31Speaker 16: Right.
- 41:31Speaker 5: From logos to, you know, telling you that if your
- 41:36Speaker 5: hair outside of the helmet The defender can grab your
- 41:41Speaker 5: hair to everything, but you can't wear beets on the sidelines.
- 41:47Speaker 5: So it would just be a Major League Baseball decision
- 41:52Speaker 5: on how pitchers would have to dress. NBA players are
- 41:58Speaker 5: always asked to put their shirts in their pants. When
- 42:02Speaker 5: they enter the game, when it comes out, NFL players,
- 42:06Speaker 5: you can be warned. They have what they call the
- 42:10Speaker 5: dress police on each sideline to tell you, pull your
- 42:15Speaker 5: socks up. Or you're short, you've cut your pants too small.
- 42:20Speaker 5: Because in pros, your socks have to be up. College,
- 42:23Speaker 5: they don't. Little things like that. So in that hat thing,
- 42:28Speaker 5: Maybe he was overstepping in that situation, but maybe it's
- 42:31Speaker 5: something that Major League Baseball needs to give a rule on.
- 42:37Speaker 5: How do you wear the hat and how don't you
- 42:40Speaker 5: wear the hat? Well, it's never it was never been
- 42:43Speaker 5: a rule before. Correct. That's what I know.
- 42:46Speaker 6: So that's why a lot of people say that that
- 42:48Speaker 6: umpire was out of line.
- 42:51Speaker 5: Yeah, because that's not a rule. But it wasn't a
- 42:53Speaker 5: rule that he couldn't tell him that either. Yeah, he
- 42:55Speaker 5: could tell him, but he can't be throwing him out
- 42:59Speaker 5: of the game. It doesn't do anything. You don't have
- 43:01Speaker 5: a rule. You don't have a rule that says I can't.
- 43:03Speaker 5: But he can't make the rule. I am the umpire.
- 43:06Speaker 5: He can't enforce a rule that doesn't exist. I can
- 43:08Speaker 5: ask you, did he ask him to change his hat?
- 43:12Speaker 1: He asked him to straighten his hat.
- 43:13Speaker 5: Okay, so he did say do something.
- 43:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 43:16Speaker 5: And he didn't do it. Right. Okay, so there's no
- 43:21Speaker 5: law to say he can, and there's no law to
- 43:23Speaker 5: say he can't.
- 43:24Speaker 1: So now you need a law. You need it to
- 43:28Speaker 1: be addressed.
- 43:28Speaker 5: That's why there is a law one way or the other.
- 43:31Speaker 5: I'm not on either side. I don't care if he
- 43:32Speaker 5: has his hat cocked. I don't care if they make
- 43:36Speaker 5: a rule that he can't. I'm saying that in the
- 43:39Speaker 5: umpire's defense, there isn't a rule that says I can't
- 43:44Speaker 5: do it either. So you would have to start aligning
- 43:49Speaker 5: because you're saying he didn't immediately throw him out.
- 43:52Speaker 1: He asked him to switch his hat, right? Right, you
- 43:56Speaker 1: ask him to do it straight. Well, see, here's the thing.
- 43:59Speaker 5: So if he tells you you can't wear your do-rag
- 44:02Speaker 5: out there and continue to let you play and then
- 44:05Speaker 5: you never take the do-rag off unless there's a rule
- 44:08Speaker 5: that tells him he can't have that authority, then how
- 44:13Speaker 5: do we just automatically start throwing bricks at him?
- 44:16Speaker 1: Well, because it was... If it's.
- 44:18Speaker 6: Not a rule, you're enforcing a rule that doesn't exist.
- 44:24Speaker 6: You're making up a rule like, no, I don't like
- 44:26Speaker 6: how he's wearing his hat. He needs to straighten it.
- 44:29Speaker 5: And when we have rules, there are rules for both sides.
- 44:34Speaker 5: The rule is for both people's conduct.
- 44:39Speaker 11: Right?
- 44:40Speaker 7: Correct.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Well, there is no rule that Brandon, what was his name?
- 44:47Speaker 1: The receiver.
- 44:48Speaker 8: How you?
- 44:49Speaker 1: For the old receiver. Oh, Brandon.
- 44:52Speaker 5: That made his son run.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Marshall. Oh, Brandon Marshall.
- 44:54Speaker 5: Brandon Marshall. There is no rule that says Brandon Marshall
- 44:59Speaker 5: can't make his son do what he did. But then
- 45:06Speaker 5: you get upset because that's how he wants the parent.
- 45:09Speaker 5: And you bash him. How is he going to wake his?
- 45:11Speaker 5: So there is no rule. There is no rule. Is
- 45:16Speaker 5: there a rule that tells you I can't wake my
- 45:18Speaker 5: son up at 2 in the morning?
- 45:19Speaker 6: Well, there's no parenting rule book like that. And there
- 45:22Speaker 6: is an MLB rule book about uniforms.
- 45:24Speaker 5: No, you just said there's no rule that says he
- 45:27Speaker 5: can't tell him that, though.
- 45:28Speaker 1: But he's trying to enforce something that's not a rule.
- 45:32Speaker 6: But he has the power of the game. But to
- 45:36Speaker 6: enforce a rule that doesn't exist? No, listen, listen. Here's
- 45:39Speaker 6: the whole thing.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Let me say this. Let me say this.
- 45:43Speaker 12: Um....
- 45:46Speaker 7: When you have authority, sometimes when the only person to
- 45:55Speaker 7: limit you is you, you may cross a line. But
- 46:02Speaker 7: until that line is crossed, no one else knows that
- 46:06Speaker 7: they don't want you breaking that boundary. Now people go,
- 46:10Speaker 7: wait a minute, man, you shouldn't be able to do that.
- 46:13Speaker 7: But in his mind, With his authority, he's going to
- 46:18Speaker 7: maintain what he sees order in the game.
- 46:22Speaker 5: Now, you just.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Isn't there a rule book he would be following with this?
- 46:26Speaker 10: And once again, if it wouldn't have looked so bad,
- 46:29Speaker 10: Elder Casey just mentioned it. It was a racial undertone
- 46:33Speaker 10: to it. And that's why the story took off, because.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 46:37Speaker 5: Hold on before you take my story here with this now.
- 46:42Speaker 5: Because I haven't heard nothing about it that it had
- 46:44Speaker 5: anything to do with race. You adding in what it
- 46:49Speaker 5: is that you want to add in for how you
- 46:51Speaker 5: see it. We don't really like to do that on
- 46:54Speaker 5: this show. That's what TMZ and the rest of these
- 47:00Speaker 5: outlets are for, where they just start smearing stuff on people.
- 47:07Speaker 5: You don't know that this umpire, you would have to
- 47:09Speaker 5: go to dig some evidence that he let one race
- 47:13Speaker 5: do it and then didn't let this race do it.
- 47:16Speaker 5: Not some, oh, this race likes to do their hat.
- 47:20Speaker 1: No, we're saying it could have.
- 47:21Speaker 5: No, I didn't ask you for the could. We're talking
- 47:24Speaker 5: about what actually happened. We don't color to be coloring.
- 47:33Speaker 5: So where's your evidence that that this had anything to do,
- 47:39Speaker 5: saying something is racial is inflammatory. It's one of the
- 47:44Speaker 5: biggest issues in our, it's our biggest issues in society.
- 47:49Speaker 10: Did you see how he was wearing the hat? It
- 47:52Speaker 10: was like, we're the only ones that wear our hats
- 47:54Speaker 10: cocked to the side.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Stop.
- 47:56Speaker 5: Stop. Let's go to break. Stop that.
- 47:58Speaker 7: No, no, no, because I just watched Major League Baseball playoffs,
- 48:04Speaker 7: and there was a white pitcher who had his hat on.
- 48:07Speaker 10: They're starting to do it now because the whole team,
- 48:09Speaker 10: when they win the player.
- 48:12Speaker 1: And no one went to enforce anything. When the player.
- 48:17Speaker 14: Don't go.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Away.
- 48:29Speaker 11: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 48:32Speaker 11: coming up next.
- 48:34Speaker 3: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 48:37Speaker 12: Three-quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 48:40Speaker 12: of financial security, yet only 49% actually have life insurance.
- 48:45Speaker 25: When I was 25, me and my wife were just
- 48:47Speaker 25: getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 48:49Speaker 25: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 48:51Speaker 3: What about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 48:54Speaker 25: When I was 40, with a kid in college and
- 48:56Speaker 25: bills piling up, I was worried how my family would
- 48:58Speaker 25: survive without me. That's when I made an appointment with
- 49:00Speaker 25: the insurance informant.
- 49:02Speaker 12: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family security,
- 49:05Speaker 12: no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 49:07Speaker 25: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 49:09Speaker 25: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 49:11Speaker 5: The answer is easy.
- 49:12Speaker 12: Whether you're 25 or 50, whether you earn a little
- 49:15Speaker 12: or a lot, all you need is the insurance informant
- 49:18Speaker 12: to help you build a foundation of security. because without
- 49:21Speaker 12: you your family will have two options benefits or bills
- 49:25Speaker 12: which legacy will you leave behind log on today benefits
- 49:29Speaker 12: or bills.com that's benefits or bills.com.
- 49:34Speaker 15: Some people won't give you the real talk on drugs,
- 49:37Speaker 15: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 49:40Speaker 15: It's a powerful opioid often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 49:44Speaker 15: with illicit drugs. It can even be pressed into counterfeit
- 49:47Speaker 15: pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about the
- 49:51Speaker 15: size of a few grains of sand, could potentially be lethal.
- 49:54Speaker 15: This isn't an ad to scare you, but it is
- 49:56Speaker 15: an ad to make you think twice. Get the facts.
- 49:59Speaker 15: Go to realdealonfentanyl.com. This message is brought to you by
- 50:03Speaker 15: the Ad Council. You wanted to be cool, which led
- 50:06Speaker 15: you to smoking, which led to a pack a day.
- 50:09Speaker 15: Then you met that special someone, which led to starting
- 50:13Speaker 15: a life with them, which led to wanting to live longer,
- 50:17Speaker 15: which led to quitting. Then you heard you may be
- 50:20Speaker 15: at risk for lung cancer, which led you to getting
- 50:22Speaker 15: a low-dose CT scan, If you smoked, get scanned. Talk

- 50:36Speaker 3: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Center Court.
- 50:43Speaker 7: On sports, news, gossip, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 50:52Speaker 1: Ooh, don't we look good together?
- 50:56Speaker 16: There's a reason why they watch on that long.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I know we'll turn heads forever. So tonight I'm
- 51:06Speaker 1: going to show you off. I'm going to walk up
- 51:10Speaker 1: with you.
- 51:11Speaker 5: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports Talk.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Wing, Gandy. Good morning to you out there in listening land.
- 51:18Speaker 5: 49ers, Kyle Ucheck. His fine has been rescinded. The NFL
- 51:25Speaker 5: had fined him 15 grand for what they considered a
- 51:30Speaker 5: gesture where he was chugging beer. Basically, Kyle said, how
- 51:39Speaker 5: do you know that me doing that was beer? I
- 51:45Speaker 5: could have been chugging juice. And basically, they had to rescind.
- 51:52Speaker 5: I don't know. How did you know what he was drinking?
- 51:56Speaker 5: How do you know that? How do you know he
- 51:59Speaker 5: didn't tell his son or his dad that's going to
- 52:01Speaker 5: be the move to let them know he's representing them?
- 52:07Speaker 5: Whatever that could have been. How did you jump to
- 52:10Speaker 5: that to find him? And this is part of what
- 52:13Speaker 5: I'm saying. When did the NFL become rated G? You're
- 52:18Speaker 5: selling $ 45 beer, first of all. You're selling $ 9 million
- 52:24Speaker 5: 30-second clips for alcohol.
- 52:28Speaker 1: And gambling.
- 52:29Speaker 5: And everything else that is not supposed to be in
- 52:33Speaker 5: most people's wheelhouses.
- 52:35Speaker 1: And then you're just deciding.
- 52:39Speaker 5: See, T.O., my man, Todd Owens, he actually went and
- 52:42Speaker 5: got the popcorn. It was actually literally popcorn in his hand.
- 52:47Speaker 5: And a pom-pom. And a pom-pom.
- 52:49Speaker 1: That was another time.
- 52:49Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, that was another time.
- 52:52Speaker 1: That was the other time.
- 52:54Speaker 5: But Kyle just doing this, and you deciding it's beer.
- 52:58Speaker 5: And that deserves fining. I don't even know how that's
- 53:03Speaker 5: anything in this NFL.
- 53:07Speaker 1: But.
- 53:08Speaker 5: I'm glad to see somebody had a thought, and Kyle
- 53:11Speaker 5: and his agent definitely are not just about to. How
- 53:14Speaker 5: do you know Comanche? I'm quite sure that's what they
- 53:17Speaker 5: sent him on the email.
- 53:19Speaker 6: Because that's the only thing that you could have if
- 53:23Speaker 6: you pretend to open a can and pretend to drink
- 53:26Speaker 6: something at a rapid tempo or pace. It has to
- 53:32Speaker 6: be beer. It can't be anything else. No one drinks
- 53:35Speaker 6: juice like that. No one drinks water like that. I
- 53:38Speaker 6: think that's what they were thinking.
- 53:39Speaker 1: No one drinks soda like that.
- 53:43Speaker 7: And I may be confused, but during the game, like
- 53:49Speaker 7: now sometimes they have it superimposed where like it comes
- 53:52Speaker 7: up as a visual image of But they've got beer
- 53:55Speaker 7: logos on the walls of the stadium. But the players
- 53:58Speaker 7: don't drink beer because they are well-tuned athletic machines and
- 54:02Speaker 7: don't poison their bodies with alcohol. That's what we need
- 54:05Speaker 7: to show to the children, and that's why this game
- 54:09Speaker 7: is rated G. But they got the beer logo right
- 54:12Speaker 7: there on the wall. I'm saying I can see it
- 54:14Speaker 7: with my own two eyes. The kids can.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Know that beer exists. Okay. But they know they can't
- 54:24Speaker 1: drink it.
- 54:24Speaker 7: And I can play for the glory of beer, but
- 54:27Speaker 7: not actually drink it.
- 54:28Speaker 5: As this Denver Stadium is sponsored by SmokeAllDay.com.
- 54:34Speaker 1: SmokeAllDay.com. They say it's loud out there, too. They have
- 54:37Speaker 1: a dispensary on the lower level.
- 54:39Speaker 10: They say it's loud out there at the Broncos games.
- 54:43Speaker 1: It's loud.
- 54:46Speaker 5: Terry and Arnold, who is in some real trouble now.
- 54:51Speaker 5: Terry and Arnold, the former Lions cornerback out of Alabama,
- 54:56Speaker 5: who got in some trouble earlier in the year for
- 55:00Speaker 5: a little kidnapping and pistol whipping.
- 55:03Speaker 7: And I ain't judging because we done all kidnapped and
- 55:06Speaker 7: pistol whipped.
- 55:07Speaker 23: Am I right?
- 55:08Speaker 1: Am I right?
- 55:10Speaker 5: No.
- 55:10Speaker 8: No.
- 55:11Speaker 5: No, none of that.
- 55:13Speaker 1: A couple times, though. A couple times.
- 55:15Speaker 5: He's in some true hot water here, and I'm quite sure,
- 55:20Speaker 5: as he has signed with the Seahawks, they were trying
- 55:26Speaker 5: to wait to see what happens, but I'm just going
- 55:29Speaker 5: to go ahead on and figure out, unless there's some super,
- 55:32Speaker 5: super plea deal, now three of the other co-defendants have
- 55:40Speaker 5: accepted plea deals.
- 55:42Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 55:44Speaker 5: One has already been sentenced.
- 55:45Speaker 11: Oh, no.
- 55:46Speaker 5: He received a Bokia Hilton, pleaded guilty Monday. He was
- 55:56Speaker 5: sentenced to 10 years in prison. And he is required
- 56:03Speaker 5: to testify today. against Arnold as part of the plea deal.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Listen now.
- 56:08Speaker 5: So, I don't know if the last nail is in
- 56:11Speaker 5: the coffin.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Wait, wait, now. It's getting ready. The one to make
- 56:19Speaker 1: the deal, the one to talk first get the deal.
- 56:23Speaker 11: Yes.
- 56:23Speaker 13: Now.
- 56:24Speaker 5: You got 10 years.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Imagine that's your deal. A dime? And the bang is
- 56:34Speaker 1: your deal.
- 56:35Speaker 5: Yes, for your testimony.
- 56:38Speaker 1: And that's your deal, man.
- 56:42Speaker 7: Everybody else is going to spend life in prison. Everybody
- 56:47Speaker 7: else is looking at a minimum 25 years.
- 56:49Speaker 5: I think he's the third of the, I think that
- 56:52Speaker 5: would make all three, right? Or at least this young
- 56:56Speaker 5: man and the two ladies. Did it say what they got?
- 57:02Speaker 5: Or did they get... He's the first one, I think,
- 57:04Speaker 5: to have gotten sentenced. Okay. But I think they have
- 57:08Speaker 5: three people on board that's going to testify against him.
- 57:12Speaker 1: If you're getting 10 years, everybody else getting a minimum 25.
- 57:15Speaker 7: Everybody else that you're testifying on, they're not even seeking
- 57:20Speaker 7: less than 30, 35 years on the people. You got 10.
- 57:24Speaker 7: And that's the, hey, man, all right now. You was
- 57:26Speaker 7: cool with us, so we're going to be cool with
- 57:29Speaker 7: you and give you 10 years.
- 57:31Speaker 5: You'll be out... All of this is stemming from a
- 57:35Speaker 5: case where Terry and Arnold, what they're claiming is he
- 57:40Speaker 5: was the mastermind behind basically a kidnapping and a robbery
- 57:48Speaker 5: that turned into a very violent situation where two young
- 57:53Speaker 5: ladies lured three men that Terry and felt like had
- 57:58Speaker 5: robbed him at a BNB and he had his friends
- 58:08Speaker 5: actually waiting in the apartment of the ladies. And that's how,
- 58:13Speaker 5: when they walked in, they tied the gentleman up and
- 58:17Speaker 5: he was supposed to have been on the phone and
- 58:19Speaker 5: different things like that.
- 58:20Speaker 7: And see, he need that football player's agent now to
- 58:24Speaker 7: chug him.
- 58:25Speaker 1: Agent, he needs somebody. How do you know I'm the mastermind?
- 58:28Speaker 7: I might have just been smarter than the rest of
- 58:29Speaker 7: these people.
- 58:31Speaker 1: They don't make me no mastermind. Really?
- 58:33Speaker 5: Eight charges of kidnapping and armed robbery. And he finna
- 58:37Speaker 5: go to jail. He finna go to jail. We'll be back.
- 58:39Speaker 5: More of the Sports Talk show right after this.
- 58:41Speaker 1: He going to prison. He going to prison. Don't go away.
- 58:53Speaker 11: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 58:56Speaker 11: coming up next.
- 58:59Speaker 3: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 59:02Speaker 12: Three-quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 59:05Speaker 12: of financial security, yet only 49% actually have life insurance.
- 59:10Speaker 25: When I was 25, me and my wife were just
- 59:12Speaker 25: getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 59:14Speaker 3: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind. What
- 59:16Speaker 3: about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 59:20Speaker 25: When I was 40, with a kid in college and
- 59:21Speaker 25: bills piling up, I was worried how my family would
- 59:23Speaker 25: survive without me. That's when I made an appointment with
- 59:25Speaker 25: the insurance informant.
- 59:27Speaker 12: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family security,
- 59:30Speaker 12: no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 59:32Speaker 25: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 59:34Speaker 25: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 59:36Speaker 5: The answer is easy.
- 59:37Speaker 12: Whether you're 25 or 50, whether you earn a little
- 59:40Speaker 12: or a lot, all you need is the insurance informant
- 59:43Speaker 12: to help you build a foundation of security.
- 59:45Speaker 3: Because without you, your family will have two options.
- 59:48Speaker 12: Benefits or bills which legacy will you leave behind log
- 59:52Speaker 12: on today benefits or bills.com that's benefits or bills.com.
- 59:59Speaker 23: I actually drop better when i'm high if anything i'm
- 1:00:02Speaker 23: more careful.
- 1:00:03Speaker 18: That's probably what the driver who killed a four-year-old told
- 1:00:06Speaker 18: himself and now he's in prison if you feel different
- 1:00:09Speaker 18: you drive different don't drive high brought to you by
- 1:00:12Speaker 18: nizza and the ad council.
- 1:00:18Speaker 23: Enough is enough.
- 1:00:20Speaker 6: I have had enough.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: Why so serious?
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: And we hold the world ransom for Wayne Gandy.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: Excuse me while I whip this out.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Broadcasting live in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: This, this is the Sports Chalk Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:00:38Speaker 21: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show.
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: I'm the Sports Shock, Wayne Candy. Good morning to you
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: on this Thursday, Thursday night football, the 0-4 Bucs. headed
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: to take on the 2-2 Cowboys tonight. On Saturday, we
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: will see how the forecasts go, but right now it's
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: a night game in Tuscaloosa with the Bulldogs of Georgia.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: And the Tide will do battle of two of the
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: top two or three, four teams in the country do battle.
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: down in Tuscaloosa. But storms are predicted for Saturday, Friday, Saturday,
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: Sunday type weather that could push this game to another
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: day or another venue. We will see how it plays out.
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: But the biggest game, I would say, outside of that
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: Texas-Ohio state that started the season. But for us in
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: the south, this is a little home cooking where the
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: green tomatoes, of Alabama is matching up against the Peach
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: Cobbler of Georgia. Both of them dominant in the last decade,
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: especially the Bulldogs. Baseball, playoffs, Yankees swept out of Tampa
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: Bay Rays. Yankees, no Aaron Judd this year. I don't know.
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: When and why, I'm quite sure somebody got fired for
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: signing Juan Carlos Stanton. He has had no impact in
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: his years there. Basically, every time I see him, he's either, like,
- 1:02:46Speaker 5: striking out, hurt, or maybe every 20 games he'll hit
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: a home run. But not a lot of production.
- 1:02:55Speaker 10: He's like Mike Hampton for the Braves all those years.
- 1:02:58Speaker 10: The general manager who signed him. It's still there. Brian
- 1:03:03Speaker 10: Cashman is still there.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: Oh, Cashman's not going anywhere.
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: Well, I'm quite sure he's upset because he is not
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: getting his dollar amount.
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: Out of him at all. I think they're just waiting
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: for the clock to run out.
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: And they thought those two together was going to be
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: the Bash brothers from the 90s, Jose Canseco and Mark McGuire,
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: but they have done none of that as a combination.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Ain't nothing Bash.
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: Especially with Stanton. Stanton can't run. The Braves left a
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: lot of people on base. Over their series with the Dodgers.
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: And actually, guys, Major League Baseball, for what they have left,
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: could have one of those.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Low-rating World Series.
- 1:03:40Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Because you look at what's left, the Milwaukee Brewers, if
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: I ask you who was their big time, most people
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: probably give you that one. That's his name? That one?
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Is he a foreign player? That one?
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: Player two. People start not understanding. They'll be talking about,
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: I didn't know Milwaukee had a team. But the Brewers
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: are in. Maybe like Giannis and you're like, no, that's
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: a different sport. The Brewers will take on the Dodgers,
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: if I remember correctly, in the next round. The Dodgers
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: out of the teams that are left are really the
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: only team that are name brand as far as players.
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: Right now, the Dodgers, the Brewers, and the Tampa Bay
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: Rays are left. They're waiting on the winner, the Rays are,
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: of the Guardians and the White Sox.
- 1:04:33Speaker 6: That's too much too soon with the White Sox because
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: the last three years, they lost 100 games, and now
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: they're one game from the ALCS, and these guys don't
- 1:04:45Speaker 6: know any of their players.
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: So if you don't have the Dodgers around and you
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: end up with the Brewers versus the Rays or the
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: Brewers versus the White Sox or the Guardians, you're talking
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: about unless you're more of a medium to high baseball person,
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: you won't really know.
- 1:05:05Speaker 23: Medium?
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Medium. Like modern?
- 1:05:08Speaker 7: I'm saying, yeah, you got to, you got to, you
- 1:05:10Speaker 7: got to, no, not for those markets.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: You talking about the Guardians and the.
- 1:05:16Speaker 7: Rays and Milwaukee?
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: You are Bud Selig.
- 1:05:22Speaker 7: You are somebody connected to baseball intimately.
- 1:05:27Speaker 10: If you really look at it, the Dodgers and the
- 1:05:30Speaker 10: White Sox, both great media markets, both in the top
- 1:05:33Speaker 10: 10 market.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: That would be... What did I just say about the
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: White Sox?
- 1:05:36Speaker 10: I understand what you just said, but what I'm saying,
- 1:05:39Speaker 10: and then just the Brewers.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: versus the White Sox.
- 1:05:43Speaker 10: Just because of that market right there, that would be–
- 1:05:46Speaker 10: and the Brewers are not baseball. I mean, the Brewers
- 1:05:49Speaker 10: in Cleveland, they've got a good.
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: We can name more players who wouldn't be in that
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: World Series if they were actually on those teams.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: I'm looking at it as a team aspect as far
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: as the market.
- 1:06:02Speaker 7: Even if every person that lives in Cleveland, even if
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: every person that lives in the city of Milwaukee– knows
- 1:06:10Speaker 7: those players' first, middle, last name and their birth dates.
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: They still, watching collectively, don't make up the viewership.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: That would be Alabama-Georgia.
- 1:06:25Speaker 7: Just for one football game, you couldn't get that kind
- 1:06:29Speaker 7: of viewership with both cities watching.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: For the entire series.
- 1:06:34Speaker 10: That's comparing Georgia-Alabama football. That's apples and oranges.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: You can't even. Come on, man.
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: We talking about the World Series? It's not WNBA playing
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: on Saturday or Sunday.
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: It's not apples and oranges because if I had the
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: Dodgers versus the Yankees.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: It would be. It would be.
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: It's bigger than Georgia.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: Must watch TV.
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: Alabama.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: That was two years ago.
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: Yankees-Red Sox.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: And they had good ratings. You know?
- 1:06:53Speaker 11: Okay.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: That's much TV. But what I'm saying. But as you saying. Milwaukee.
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: The Yankees and the Red Sox can't play each other
- 1:07:00Speaker 5: in the World Series.
- 1:07:01Speaker 10: No, I'm just saying even when they're playing, that's big ratings.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Okay, but Bad Producer, we're not talking about what you want.
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: We're talking about what's left.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: I know what's left, and that's why I said the
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: White Sox and Dodgers. I don't know.
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: Do any of you know any stars of the Brewers?
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: The Guardians or the White Sox? I don't know anyone
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: on the White Sox. I didn't even know that the
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: White Sox was still around this year.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: Playing ball.
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: I keep getting confused of who the Guardians are. All
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: I think about when I see that is my mind says, oh, yeah,
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: that used to be the Indians. But I don't know
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: who's on the team. And as far as Milwaukee go,
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: all I know is that pitcher. And that's the picture
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: of Mizorowski that throws 100 miles per hour. I don't
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: know anybody else on that team.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: I'm from Chicago.
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: So I have literally no interest of watching any combination
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: that does not include the Dodgers.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: I'm from Chicago. And when he said White Sox, I went,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: they still playing?
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying. So you weaving in all that
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: stuff that you like to weave in is not what
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: I'm talking about. The ratings come from the casual fan
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: having interest. And when you're doing media battle, that means
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: you're going to have a World Series up against the
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: WNBA playoffs, college football, pro football, high school football, the
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: beginning of the NBA season. All of that's going to
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: happen by the time the World Series starts, right? And
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: you're going to show me the Brewers versus the Guardians.
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: I'm good on that. I'm good on all of that, guys.
- 1:08:43Speaker 5: That's nap time. That's not even on the quad screen.
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: Take that down. Just tell me who wins it.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Boy, y'all.
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: Last year with the Dodgers Blue Jays, I guarantee you
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: on TSN that's in Canada, their first story with– it
- 1:09:06Speaker 6: wasn't Toronto making the World Series. It was about– it
- 1:09:09Speaker 6: was some hockey-related story. So it's not– Media markets, that
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: doesn't help anyone. You can't even name anybody on the
- 1:09:19Speaker 6: White Sox.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: Name one player. I don't know the manager.
- 1:09:23Speaker 17: Ozzie Gill.
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: One player. I don't know anything about him.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: That was 30 years ago. What's the name of the
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: park they play.
- 1:09:31Speaker 16: In?
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: How about that? How about Southside OTF? OTF. They've changed
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: it so many times, I don't know the name of
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: their stadium. And there it is.
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: The Big Hurt was the last person I even paid to.
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: And that was, what, two decades?
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: Yeah, no, you don't remember Tim Jackie Robinson Anderson?
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: No, Isaac Eamon was there. Big Hurt, too. That's what
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: we called him on the show.
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: Police nationwide have arrested multiple teenagers and juveniles. And I'm
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: just throwing this out there so you can talk to
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: your young youth, your cousins, your nephews, your sons, anybody
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: that you work with. The new craze of the door
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: kick in. That is your new social media where teenagers
- 1:10:22Speaker 5: are just stopping, going up and kicking. in people's doors,
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: and running off. There have been, it's called the door
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: kick challenge. There have been several arrests out in Arizona, Tennessee, Florida, California.
- 1:10:45Speaker 7: Wasn't a young man shot here in Georgia? Because of
- 1:10:50Speaker 7: the door kick challenge. Hit him and drag him on in.
- 1:10:53Speaker 7: It was two of them. I think they were supposed
- 1:10:55Speaker 7: to be playing the door kick challenge. One of them
- 1:10:58Speaker 7: kicked the door. And as they were running off, the
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: homeowner came outside and fired at them, hitting one of them.
- 1:11:06Speaker 7: I'm not sure if he was on a live. But
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: people were saying that the owner had no expectations. of
- 1:11:14Speaker 7: his life being in danger. Because once they kicked the
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: door open and started to flee, somehow he should have
- 1:11:22Speaker 7: known it was a prank. But he just did what
- 1:11:25Speaker 7: he thought was necessary. And as a result, it.
- 1:11:28Speaker 5: Seems that with all these challenges, all of them have
- 1:11:30Speaker 5: something to do with criminal activity or risking life. It's
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: never something that is, you know, fun that you can
- 1:11:40Speaker 5: kind of think is cute. it's always planking, Tide Pods,
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: let's get out of the rolling car and run dance
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: beside it as it's rolling. Always something. And here with
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: the door kick challenge, most of these, it seems like
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: I got caught on a camera. I don't know.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: A ring camera.
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: A ring camera or the neighbor's ring camera, but very dangerous.
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: And as Big Kenny is pointing out, already had a
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: shooting incident. And won. So the kid out, I think,
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: in Arizona overachieved because he did his in a stolen vehicle.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: He had stole a car.
- 1:12:21Speaker 7: Just to go kick people's doors in. Like, you done
- 1:12:24Speaker 7: won the challenge already? You out here trying to win
- 1:12:27Speaker 7: a crime challenge?
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: Oh, come on. Hey, GTA.
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: We'll be back with more of the Sports Talk Show
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: right after this.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: It's all on you. It ain't all good.
- 1:12:44Speaker 22: And that's the truth.
- 1:12:46Speaker 17: Things ain't going right.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 1:12:50Speaker 11: More of the Sports Jot Show with Wayne Gamby.

- 1:15:00Speaker 22: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: And I'm blowing cash like it's my first day.
- 1:15:14Speaker 15: I came in here swagging like the first day.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: I made my main man part of the plan. I'm
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: putting those meals up just for my kids. I ran
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: it up, I don't know.
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. A couple of
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: birthdays here going into the weekend. Bruno Mars, 41 years old.
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: Matt Damon, 56 years old. Nick Cannon is 46. Sigourney Weaver, 77. Sigourney,
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: always remember now, she kind of kicked off the whole
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: out-of-space alien trend of movies. When she made that alien,
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: the first alien, remember that was like 40, 42 years ago.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: You say kind of kicked off. What was before?
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: Well, I'm saying without me doing any research, somehow it
- 1:15:59Speaker 5: was kind of like that first.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: She would have to be the pioneer.
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: Then you had things like the Predator and all that
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: started coming along where, you know, out of space at
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: that point had just been like Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek.
- 1:16:13Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: Star Wars, but there was no alien like that. No, no, no.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: The alien is like the villain.
- 1:16:19Speaker 11: Right.
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: So I remember that with her at 77 years old.
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: Chevy Chase is 83. CeCe Winans is 62. Chelsea Gray,
- 1:16:31Speaker 5: the Aces are in trouble playing the Valkyries, 34 years old.
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: Interesting that the Valkyries coach is still out there. She
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: passed out right in front of the referee. And the
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: game last, I want to say it was like last Thursday,
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: during the playoff game, she fell to the floor as
- 1:16:49Speaker 5: she was talking to the referee. She says she's going
- 1:16:51Speaker 5: to play with a monitor, but I'm surprised the WNBA
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: signed off. She collapsed. This isn't like just sit down.
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: She was talking to the referee and collapsed to the ground. So,
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: dangers and prayers to her as she continues to, With

- 1:17:30Speaker 5: Mike Singletary, 68. George Kittle. is 33 Georgia. Great recovery
- 1:17:36Speaker 5: from all those surgeries. Still got that speed, man. I, I,
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: I'm surprised either that, or you own that stuff that, um,
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: that they just can't undetect. Cause he took off last
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: week in the game. You're not supposed to be able
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: to have it still that at 33, first of all,
- 1:17:53Speaker 5: and offer all those injuries. Um, but, uh, great tight
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: end enjoyed killing. He don't get enough respect, uh, in
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: my opinion. Sharon Osborne, 74. Panay Sewell of the Lions,
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: the big tackle, is 26. Jimbo Fisher, I guess in
- 1:18:10Speaker 5: another year or two, he'll come out after he collect
- 1:18:12Speaker 5: all those checks from Texas A & M. He's 61.
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: Darius Miles is 45. Kenny, remember Kenny Anderson out of
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: Georgia Tech, a longtime NBA baller, point guard, 56. Donna Kelsey,

- 1:18:37Speaker 1: Brett Favre is 57. is 47.
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: Gino Smith is 36. Brett Favre is 57. And Maverick
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: Carter is 46.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: It's Maverick Carter. Ain't too much to work with.
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: LeBron James is... Oh, I got exactly who... They all old,
- 1:19:02Speaker 5: aged out. No, no.
- 1:19:04Speaker 7: You got a beautiful, sexy, delicious singer still on there
- 1:19:08Speaker 7: that I could clock in on.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: Well, you got two of them.
- 1:19:11Speaker 7: Clonk, clonk.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: CeCe White. I know. You need some Lorde in your life.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: She needs some... You need some God.
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: I'm a.
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Ain't God, dude. I'm a put hands on her and
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: fill her with the spirit. Yes, I am.
- 1:19:24Speaker 5: CeCe. Missy Elliott is holding a HBCU Battle of the
- 1:19:31Speaker 5: Band in her home state of Virginia. It will be
- 1:19:34Speaker 5: October the 18th. It's on a Sunday. I don't know
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: why they picked a Sunday. I don't know why y'all
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: keep fighting the matrix of the NFL.
- 1:19:45Speaker 10: Well, the band has the Saturday performance, so probably wherever
- 1:19:50Speaker 10: they're coming from, That's the day. Either they can't get
- 1:19:52Speaker 10: it on a Friday, so they had to do it
- 1:19:54Speaker 10: on a Sunday because it's Saturday, a game day.
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: Bad producer, I'm not doing anything on NFL Sunday that
- 1:20:01Speaker 5: I want a turnout of great magnitude. Or the casual.
- 1:20:08Speaker 5: I would tune in and turn. I would remember to
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: watch this. These are, is it college?
- 1:20:15Speaker 6: Yeah it's hbc like the one that's here don't they
- 1:20:19Speaker 6: have that in january.
- 1:20:20Speaker 10: Yeah they use during the off season but she's having
- 1:20:23Speaker 10: it like i said well maybe she'd get a special
- 1:20:25Speaker 10: deal because.
- 1:20:26Speaker 6: That's why it doesn't seem like it's going to work
- 1:20:28Speaker 6: well and that's the point he's making if somebody's on
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: the road you can catch a guy like if kenny
- 1:20:37Speaker 6: let's say he's leaving they're doing a big show in
- 1:20:40Speaker 6: new york because they're He's.
- 1:20:41Speaker 10: Coming through North Carolina on Sunday. I can say, Kenny,
- 1:20:43Speaker 10: stop by my spot, catch a good deal.
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: He always throw me in there.
- 1:20:47Speaker 5: This will be at William Price Stadium at Norfolk State University.
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: The bands will be Norfolk State, Virginia State, Elizabeth City State,
- 1:21:00Speaker 5: and Hampton University.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: A couple of things.
- 1:21:05Speaker 7: One, I knew it was going to be in one
- 1:21:07Speaker 7: of those arenas that wouldn't be occupied on a Sunday.
- 1:21:10Speaker 7: That's why they doing it on Sunday because this was available.
- 1:21:14Speaker 7: Number two, the mindset of the viewers is they still
- 1:21:19Speaker 7: boycotting the NFL.
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21:21Speaker 7: All of these people that they got involved, those collective
- 1:21:25Speaker 7: mindsets are still not watching the NFL. They still sticking
- 1:21:30Speaker 7: it to the man.
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: Which man?
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: That man.
- 1:21:34Speaker 11: Mr.
- 1:21:34Speaker 25: Charlie.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: Which man? That man.
- 1:21:36Speaker 23: Mr.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: Charlie.
- 1:21:38Speaker 5: Which man?
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: The man.
- 1:21:39Speaker 8: Mr.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: Charlie. Which man?
- 1:21:41Speaker 24: Oh.
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: There's only one Mr. Charlie. 75% of the NFL players
- 1:21:47Speaker 5: are African-American.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: Listen now. So you're sticking it to them? Sir, we're
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: not going to do details and facts. If that's what
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: you're going to get into.
- 1:21:58Speaker 5: No, I would like to know.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: If you're going to make this weird.
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: Because you couldn't be doing it to the independent billionaires.
- 1:22:04Speaker 7: Sir, if you're going to make this weird with details
- 1:22:06Speaker 7: and facts. This is getting weird now with your details
- 1:22:11Speaker 7: and your statistics.
- 1:22:13Speaker 5: Well, the independent billionaire men.
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: They don't know about the Battle of the Bank.
- 1:22:19Speaker 5: They don't know about what you're doing. You're correct.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: You're right. So I guess you could be hurting the players.
- 1:22:25Speaker 6: No, no.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Maybe it's just all about music, Sports Chalk.
- 1:22:29Speaker 7: Maybe it's just all about music.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: And the people who love the music will come. And
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: who love Missy. She's in Virginia.
- 1:22:36Speaker 5: October 18th, as I said, this could have been a
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: Saturday night. This could have been a Monday night, Friday night.
- 1:22:46Speaker 5: I just wouldn't have done it on a Sunday.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: I'll tell you, they caught him on a come-through deal.
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: This has nothing to do with no come through. What deal?
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: Okay, I've been at Grady High School.
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: Norfolk State is not charging no money like that. This
- 1:23:02Speaker 5: probably is free.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: I've been at Grady High School on a Friday watching football.
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: Who is it costing, bad producer?
- 1:23:08Speaker 10: On these Battle of the Bands, you have to put
- 1:23:11Speaker 10: up logistics to bring the people in.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: It's a cost. Who is it costing? She's hosting it
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: at one of the schools.
- 1:23:18Speaker 5: It's not like the Battle of the Bands here where
- 1:23:19Speaker 5: you're taking an independent stadium. When you host stuff at
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: the actual school that's involved, it doesn't really actually work
- 1:23:28Speaker 5: like that.
- 1:23:29Speaker 10: Yeah, they just walk over from the dorm. But the
- 1:23:33Speaker 10: other schools got to come. Somebody got to cover logistics. Okay,
- 1:23:36Speaker 10: I don't know. I digress there.
- 1:23:41Speaker 5: The logistics of a bus ride, they're all within 30 miles.
- 1:23:46Speaker 5: There's no flights.
- 1:23:47Speaker 10: Man, somebody going to give you a ticket and say, hey,
- 1:23:52Speaker 10: it cost us this much to rent the bus.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: Who going to pay for it?
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: We'll be back.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 1:24:12Speaker 11: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 1:24:15Speaker 11: coming up next.
- 1:24:18Speaker 14: Choosing to buy a gun was not a decision I
- 1:24:21Speaker 14: took lightly. But with everything going on, I really wanted
- 1:24:24Speaker 14: to feel like I could protect myself. I hadn't thought
- 1:24:26Speaker 14: about the danger of an unlocked gun in my own home, too.
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: Mia, where are your napkins?
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: Not that drawer.
- 1:24:34Speaker 16: Unless anyone needs a gun.
- 1:24:38Speaker 14: Now, I always lock my gun to keep everyone safe.
- 1:24:42Speaker 14: Visit nfamilyfire.org to learn how to store your guns more securely.
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: Brought to you by Brady and the Ad Council.
- 1:24:48Speaker 23: I'm a pretty great multitasker. I can wash dishes and
- 1:24:51Speaker 23: do laundry. I can roller skate while walking my dog.
- 1:24:55Speaker 23: I can even order lunch while doing my homework. But
- 1:24:58Speaker 23: I can't use my phone while driving. A distracted driver
- 1:25:02Speaker 23: is one of the leading causes of death in the
- 1:25:04Speaker 23: United States. So when it comes to driving, please, don't
- 1:25:07Speaker 23: be a multitasker.
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: Don't drive distracted.
- 1:25:10Speaker 17: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic
- 1:25:12Speaker 17: Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the Ad Council.
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: All right, son.
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: Time to put out this campfire.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Dad, we learned about this in school.
- 1:25:22Speaker 11: Oh, did you now?
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: What's first? Smokey Bear said to.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: First, drown it with a bucket of water. then stir
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: it with a shovel.
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: Wow, you sound just like him.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: Then he said, If it's still warm, then do it again.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: Where can I learn all this?
- 1:25:37Speaker 5: It's all on SmokeyBear.com with other wildfire prevention tips.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: Because only you can prevent wildfires.
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: Brought to you by the USDA Forest Service, your state forester,
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: and the Ad Council. And now, back to the sports jar,
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: Wayne Gamby.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: Players Lounge.
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: You have been given full access to the Players Lounge
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: Tell me why you.
- 1:26:24Speaker 22: Came here.
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: Was it just too soon? I stare. Won't you come back?
- 1:26:31Speaker 5: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports Shock,
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: Wayne Candy, giving a tribute all day long to our man,
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: Freddie Jackson, who passed away at the ripe old age
- 1:26:40Speaker 5: of 70 years old. A very dominant performer in the 80s.
- 1:26:48Speaker 5: A guy that really dominated the charts with big hits.
- 1:26:53Speaker 5: A crooner, as they used to call him back in
- 1:26:56Speaker 5: those days. One thing, too, I don't know if I
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: ever told you guys, I was in the marching band.
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: I think you mentioned that once.
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: I was a.
- 1:27:04Speaker 5: Drummer from seventh grade to graduation of high school, so
- 1:27:10Speaker 5: not temporary. I was in the marching band. We performed
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: on Saturdays. I'm from the state of Florida. where as
- 1:27:20Speaker 5: much as HBCU loves to crown themselves the champ, Florida
- 1:27:25Speaker 5: still today is, band is right underneath football.
- 1:27:31Speaker 11: Right.
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: As far as attendance. Band championships. I would have a
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: game on Friday, Saturday. I would wake up, get on
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: the bus, and go to Clearwater or St. Pete, which
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: is 50, 60 miles away. And competition was all day
- 1:27:49Speaker 5: on Saturday. So firsthand knowledge of how the band thing works.
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: I was a drummer.
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: I started on the bass drum. It was four of us.
- 1:28:00Speaker 5: And then I ended up on the quads. So I
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: also was drummer for the church group.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: So take that.
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: Just want to let you know, it was more than just,
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: I know what's going on with the band too.
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 1:28:18Speaker 5: No, no, no, no. You like to sit here and
- 1:28:20Speaker 5: I'm just telling you.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: No, I mean, that's fine. All right, now you're going
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: to make him swing on you.
- 1:28:25Speaker 5: Noah Wells, three of the friends of Noah Wells. Oh,
- 1:28:35Speaker 5: excuse me. Nolan Wells has passed. Decided to sue The
- 1:28:43Speaker 5: Hall of Famer Terrell Owens For defamation This now Is
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: something that is in The system guys He is accused
- 1:28:57Speaker 5: Of defaming Warren Hudson Morgan Seymour and Jax Patello from
- 1:29:07Speaker 5: his post where he said, arrest them immediately like yesterday.
- 1:29:12Speaker 5: The families have decided to sue Carl Owens for this,
- 1:29:18Speaker 5: claiming that him and others completely villainize these young men
- 1:29:30Speaker 5: with all their social media posts and their media privilege.
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: Before or at no point were these three kids, and
- 1:29:44Speaker 5: I would imagine these are the three kids that were
- 1:29:46Speaker 5: in the picture on the boat, that everybody started sending
- 1:29:52Speaker 5: hate mail and all that kind of things towards deaf threats,
- 1:29:56Speaker 5: face-to-face harassment, as it says, Daily fear and ridicule from
- 1:30:02Speaker 5: complete strangers. Got a case here or no?
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: Why wouldn't they have a case?
- 1:30:12Speaker 7: We've seen people lose their jobs for things that they
- 1:30:15Speaker 7: posted when they were 12 and now they're 38.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: We've seen.
- 1:30:22Speaker 7: People be fined and persecuted and canceled and all other things.
- 1:30:29Speaker 7: because of mere words that weren't even really associated with anybody. Now, here,
- 1:30:37Speaker 7: Terrell Owens is, as influential as he is on social
- 1:30:40Speaker 7: media and in real life, claiming that people who have
- 1:30:45Speaker 7: been found to have no wrongdoing involved with Nolan Wells'
- 1:30:50Speaker 7: death need to be arrested, and not only arrested, arrested immediately.
- 1:30:56Speaker 5: Right now.
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: That seems like defamation.
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: Comanche? Got a case?
- 1:31:03Speaker 6: It won't get thrown out. The judge won't throw it out.
- 1:31:06Speaker 6: So I don't know what other more evidence is needed
- 1:31:13Speaker 6: or anything like that. But if it goes to trial
- 1:31:16Speaker 6: or whatever, I think it would.
- 1:31:18Speaker 7: Elder Casey is saying he only shared a post and
- 1:31:21Speaker 7: it reminds him of Kyrie.
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: I guess that's Kyrie Irving when he shared a post.
- 1:31:28Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:31:29Speaker 5: And I think also it's two or three other people
- 1:31:32Speaker 5: like Al Sharpton and others that this is. And I'm
- 1:31:35Speaker 5: just trying to make sure their teeth in this for
- 1:31:37Speaker 5: a case, because this is where we're going. And as
- 1:31:40Speaker 5: Big Kenny say, different cases where this is becoming the
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: avenue of certain defamation, you know, bringing unwanted information. uh,
- 1:31:53Speaker 5: hate and discriminatory things towards me, uh, just because you
- 1:31:59Speaker 5: have decided that I am guilty.
- 1:32:02Speaker 10: That's what these young men lawyers are saying. He's getting
- 1:32:04Speaker 10: the pitch people with the pitch force and getting them
- 1:32:06Speaker 10: all stirred up. And you know, Terrell, he's offered $ 25, 000
- 1:32:09Speaker 10: for information. So he's probably getting all kinds of calls,
- 1:32:14Speaker 10: people just saying stuff and it's probably feeding in.
- 1:32:17Speaker 7: Well, and I'm saying, uh, I'm thinking about, and we
- 1:32:25Speaker 7: think about the Carmelo Anthony case. A lot of people
- 1:32:30Speaker 7: called for Carmelo Anthony to be arrested and all of
- 1:32:34Speaker 7: these things. And in that time, people said that that
- 1:32:38Speaker 7: was unfair. That man hadn't found, the law hadn't found
- 1:32:44Speaker 7: any reason at the time to do this or do that.
- 1:32:47Speaker 7: And all of those people causing for him to be
- 1:32:50Speaker 7: arrested and prosecuted should themselves be sued and all of
- 1:32:55Speaker 7: these things. So what happens is when you do it
- 1:32:57Speaker 7: in one direction, everybody thinks it's okay. But then when
- 1:33:01Speaker 7: it comes back on you, just like a wave wheel.
- 1:33:04Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 1:33:04Speaker 7: Now everyone goes, oh, man, it's free speech. Well, you're
- 1:33:09Speaker 7: the one that set the precedent for being able to sue.
- 1:33:11Speaker 10: They're planning on suing Al Sharpton, just reading on something.
- 1:33:15Speaker 10: And Sonny Halston, whoever that Halston who is causing a
- 1:33:20Speaker 10: lot of the stir, who's giving Terrell a lot of
- 1:33:22Speaker 10: this information. They're talking about suing them also. So it's
- 1:33:24Speaker 10: going to be more people there. They're going to fight back.
- 1:33:28Speaker 5: Now, the thing with the Carmelo thing was that Carmelo
- 1:33:32Speaker 5: had actually perpetrated the crime.
- 1:33:34Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: Yes. And people still didn't think it was fair.
- 1:33:39Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:33:39Speaker 5: And these young men, they're saying.
- 1:33:42Speaker 7: Just because they were there and everything is unclear.
- 1:33:46Speaker 5: Arrest them. Arrest them. So we will see how this
- 1:33:48Speaker 5: works with Terrell Owens. And I want to ask you guys,
- 1:33:53Speaker 5: Terrell Owens, Tyreek Hill.
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: Antonio Brown. These guys got to get tired of this
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: court stuff, right? I don't know, man.
- 1:34:06Speaker 5: You would think. You would think. That's not exhausting. That's
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: not one of them things that you just put your
- 1:34:11Speaker 5: feet on the ground like, hey, man, when I get
- 1:34:14Speaker 5: out of this one, I'm kind of done. I mean,
- 1:34:17Speaker 5: that's all.
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: That's all we've been doing. It's been so many years.
- 1:34:21Speaker 5: But I'm saying their activity in the courts has started–
- 1:34:26Speaker 5: to make me forget how brilliant of players they are.
- 1:34:32Speaker 5: We're talking about T.O. already in the Hall of Fame. A, B,
- 1:34:36Speaker 5: even if the committee hate, eventually they got to put
- 1:34:39Speaker 5: him in. And Tyreek probably need like one more something
- 1:34:44Speaker 5: to solidify he's going in. You know, just come back
- 1:34:48Speaker 5: from this. They're talking about maybe he goes back to
- 1:34:50Speaker 5: the Chiefs. We're talking about three Hall of Fame quality receivers,
- 1:34:54Speaker 5: but they're starting to become to where you forget how
- 1:34:57Speaker 5: great A.B.
- 1:34:58Speaker 17: Was.
- 1:34:58Speaker 5: It's always something on all levels, not just criminal. Like there's,
- 1:35:04Speaker 5: you know, abuse, T.O. fighting people outside the CVS.
- 1:35:11Speaker 7: And I ain't judging, because we done all had to
- 1:35:15Speaker 7: throw it from the shoulders outside the CVS.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: Am I right? He been doing a lot here lately
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: on his part.
- 1:35:20Speaker 25: A.B.
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: Beating up the furniture delivery people. Didn't he shoot someone?
- 1:35:27Speaker 5: All that, trying to shot at somebody.
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: Throwing toys at people and stuff.
- 1:35:30Speaker 5: You know, so it's never just, whew, man, I'm just going.
- 1:35:35Speaker 5: That's how it's becoming when I think of these great,
- 1:35:38Speaker 5: brilliant players that I would have loved to be teammates on.
- 1:35:41Speaker 5: These are the guys that, you know, are going to
- 1:35:44Speaker 5: go on your team.
- 1:35:46Speaker 10: And it's like I know you saw that running back
- 1:35:49Speaker 10: the other night. I thought about you. Because you like
- 1:35:52Speaker 10: to run. I said, I know.
- 1:35:54Speaker 5: No, be quiet on that. You don't want to even
- 1:35:55Speaker 5: open that can of whoop. Mr. I hate the Falcons
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: after two weeks. Do we need to get to the
- 1:36:04Speaker 5: replay when I sit here.
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: And tell y'all?
- 1:36:07Speaker 5: Since we said, Comanche Greg, I'm sure, has been time
- 1:36:10Speaker 5: stamping it now. Since he brought it up and we
- 1:36:12Speaker 5: got 50 seconds, they were 0-2, Cooper Rush. I said,
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: what's the problem? They won't run the ball. They won't
- 1:36:19Speaker 5: run the ball. They have to run the ball with
- 1:36:22Speaker 5: the fourth quarterback. They have to run the ball with
- 1:36:24Speaker 5: Michael Penix. Michael Penix is gunshot. He can't take hits.
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: I'm trying to tell you how you win your football games,
- 1:36:32Speaker 5: and he's telling me something about Matt Ryan and everybody
- 1:36:38Speaker 5: needs to be fired and the Falcons to go to
- 1:36:42Speaker 5: the playoffs to win the division have to continue to
- 1:36:44Speaker 5: do what they did the last couple of weeks. Bryan
- 1:36:49Speaker 5: Robinson and B. John Robinson have to carry the workload
- 1:36:54Speaker 5: and let Michael Penix or whoever get out there game manage.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: Didn't throw it 20 times.
- 1:37:00Speaker 5: I think it was 19.
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: You like that run? I was talking about you, though,
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: when they were blocking.
- 1:37:05Speaker 5: No, don't think about me. You should think about how
- 1:37:07Speaker 5: you were sitting here trying to tell Big Kenny.
- 1:37:09Speaker 10: I know what we got. I know we got a
- 1:37:11Speaker 10: good running back now. I ain't never doubt that.
- 1:37:13Speaker 6: I got to apologize to Terry Fortnum.
- 1:37:19Speaker 10: I got to apologize to Terry Fortnum because even though
- 1:37:23Speaker 10: you did some great drafting, great moves, man, I'm sorry
- 1:37:25Speaker 10: you had to fall on the sword on this. Situation, though,
- 1:37:28Speaker 10: I got to apologize to you, sir.
- 1:37:29Speaker 7: And we have a comment from our loyal listener, Jarrett Lloyd,
- 1:37:33Speaker 7: the Raiders fan from New York, who says, yes, had
- 1:37:35Speaker 7: to throw hands outside of CVS and the Burger King.
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: Thank you, twins. I ain't the only one. I ain't
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: the only one had to keep it at the shoulders
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: outside the CVS.
- 1:37:44Speaker 5: That's interesting that y'all fought outside the Burger King. It's CVS, too, now.
- 1:37:49Speaker 5: Because neither one of you eat meat. What are y'all getting,
- 1:37:51Speaker 5: the new nuggets? Oh, they got the Impossible Burger. Oh,
- 1:37:55Speaker 5: that's gone, man.
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: It tastes like.
- 1:37:57Speaker 5: Y'all need to fight. That's why y'all was fighting. Because
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: people was teasing me. Y'all was fighting.
- 1:38:02Speaker 7: Dude slapped my Impossible Burger out my ass. That ain't
- 1:38:05Speaker 7: real meat. Hey, man, my sandwich.
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: I can't believe I.
- 1:38:08Speaker 5: Spent $ 9 on this. We'll be back. More of the
- 1:38:12Speaker 5: Sports Talk Show. Hey, don't bring up the Falcons with
- 1:38:14Speaker 5: me the rest of the season. Elder Casey called you
- 1:38:16Speaker 5: a half-face. I don't care what he said.
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: He was... You threw him completely under the bus. You
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: was done with him.
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: No, I wasn't.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: I threw the management under the bus.
- 1:38:30Speaker 26: The management under the bus.
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 1:38:43Speaker 11: More of the Sports Jot Show with Wayne Gambias coming
- 1:38:46Speaker 11: up next.
- 1:38:49Speaker 27: Everyone needs to take care of their mental health, even
- 1:38:51Speaker 27: running back Bijan Robinson.
- 1:38:53Speaker 5: When I'm on the field and feeling the pressure, I
- 1:38:55Speaker 5: usually just take a deep breath.
- 1:38:57Speaker 25: When I'm just breathing and seeing what's in front of me,
- 1:38:59Speaker 25: everything just slows down.
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: It just makes me feel great before I run the play.
- 1:39:04Speaker 27: Just like Bijan, we all need a strong mental game
- 1:39:06Speaker 27: on and off the field. Make a game plan for
- 1:39:09Speaker 27: your mental health at georgia.loveyourmindtoday.org.

- 1:40:08Speaker 1: My Alzheimer's diagnosis was hard to take.
- 1:40:11Speaker 8: But early detection allowed us to take control of the
- 1:40:13Speaker 8: situation together.
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: Talk to your family about seeing a doctor. Go to alz.org
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: slash time to talk. A message from the Alzheimer's Association
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: and the Ad Council.
- 1:40:25Speaker 22: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: It's Wayne Gandy. It's Wayne Gandy.
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show.
- 1:41:00Speaker 5: I'm the Sports Talk Wayne Gandy. Cocoa Golf losing the
- 1:41:03Speaker 5: other day. I want to say it was a China Open. Cocoa,
- 1:41:07Speaker 5: get off of social media. Tell, what's the guy from
- 1:41:11Speaker 5: the Five Heartbeats that's always up there with her mom?
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: Eddie Cain.
- 1:41:15Speaker 5: No, not Eddie Cain passing away. What was Eddie Cain's
- 1:41:18Speaker 5: brother's name?
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: Robert Towns, Leon.
- 1:41:21Speaker 5: Leon. Y'all never noticed Leon's always in the crowd. I
- 1:41:24Speaker 5: guess he's a family friend. But tell Leon to tell
- 1:41:27Speaker 5: you to get off of social media. What else would
- 1:41:31Speaker 5: you think is on social media? I've been here asking
- 1:41:36Speaker 5: you guys about that social media. Coco went out. She
- 1:41:42Speaker 5: said she was distracted. She lost the hatred and the
- 1:41:47Speaker 5: racist information she gained the night before her match. And
- 1:41:58Speaker 5: I don't know, maybe you're just using that as an excuse.
- 1:41:59Speaker 5: I don't know. But I do know, first of all,
- 1:42:02Speaker 5: never let somebody know that they can have that kind
- 1:42:07Speaker 5: of effect on you.
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: Take your peace.
- 1:42:11Speaker 5: That's the reason why the coach doesn't let you bend
- 1:42:15Speaker 5: over when you do drills because he's telling you never
- 1:42:17Speaker 5: let the enemy look over and see that you're tired.
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: Never let somebody know that. And why are you even
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: on there? Wait now.
- 1:42:29Speaker 5: There's a group of people that follows the world only
- 1:42:33Speaker 5: to be negative towards people.
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: They might not even know or watch you play.
- 1:42:39Speaker 7: Wait, let me ask this question. And I don't... I
- 1:42:43Speaker 7: want to make sure I'm following this correctly. She's saying
- 1:42:46Speaker 7: that her performance was affected by going on social media
- 1:42:52Speaker 7: and seeing racist comments about her.
- 1:42:56Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:42:57Speaker 7: Now, If this is to be what happened, wouldn't you
- 1:43:03Speaker 7: know in advance how these comments affect you? This isn't
- 1:43:09Speaker 7: your first time on social media. If you know that
- 1:43:12Speaker 7: you're negatively affected by reading things on social media, wouldn't
- 1:43:16Speaker 7: someone around you who cares about you doing well suggest
- 1:43:20Speaker 7: that you stay.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: Off social media?
- 1:43:22Speaker 5: I would think at this point in her career, and
- 1:43:24Speaker 5: the only reason I gave her Olive Branch is that
- 1:43:26Speaker 5: she is Gen Z.
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: So she addicted? So she could be addicted at 23.
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: That's her age group. And she's like 23, maybe 24
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: at the most.
- 1:43:37Speaker 7: I'm saying so you're so addicted to social media that
- 1:43:40Speaker 7: you let.
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: It ruin your career? That she can't get off. And
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: it's negatively affecting your career.
- 1:43:47Speaker 5: She wants to be on.
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: Even at the expense of losing. Or feels like she
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: has to be on.
- 1:43:51Speaker 5: Or has to be on. Even at the expense of losing.
- 1:43:55Speaker 5: At least at the expense of the draining, as she said.
- 1:43:58Speaker 5: She says it was draining, her reading that.
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:44:04Speaker 7: Now, as your sponsor, as someone who promotes you as
- 1:44:12Speaker 7: a player and is signed to my company, can I
- 1:44:15Speaker 7: start instituting some NFL-style can't jet ski, can't ride a
- 1:44:20Speaker 7: motorcycle during the offseason kind of rules? Can I get
- 1:44:25Speaker 7: there with you, Coco? Well, Coco is an independent person.
- 1:44:28Speaker 7: I'm saying, but I'm... Sponsors can't do that.
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: Oh, see.
- 1:44:32Speaker 7: Well, somebody need to say something because now you cheating me.
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: You're cheating me. You're being irresponsible. You're doing something.
- 1:44:39Speaker 6: That you know.
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: That's why she's mad the person called her a cheater
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: and a thief.
- 1:44:42Speaker 7: Well, I'm saying if I'm your sponsor, I would feel
- 1:44:45Speaker 7: like they've got a point. Here you are telling me
- 1:44:48Speaker 7: that you're knocked out in the first round of something
- 1:44:51Speaker 7: because of the weight of what social media did to
- 1:44:55Speaker 7: you when you have no business engaging in that if
- 1:44:59Speaker 7: you know it's going to negatively affect your performance.
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. And you've been a victim of where.
- 1:45:06Speaker 10: I gave you the victim card that time when you,
- 1:45:10Speaker 10: after your match and you were video, you shouldn't have
- 1:45:14Speaker 10: been video breaking your racket, your tennis racket. I gave
- 1:45:18Speaker 10: her the benefit of the doubt, the emotion of being
- 1:45:21Speaker 10: on that high of a level and she should have,
- 1:45:22Speaker 10: that should have been something private. But when you continue
- 1:45:25Speaker 10: to go and, You know these people are going after you.
- 1:45:30Speaker 10: I think she enjoys it. She enjoys it.
- 1:45:32Speaker 7: You're equally courting and villainizing them at the same time.
- 1:45:39Speaker 7: You're inciting them, and then when they swing on you.
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: You go, hey, he ain't trying to hurt me. It's
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: not fair.
- 1:45:45Speaker 5: And that's what I'm saying. For her age group, all
- 1:45:47Speaker 5: I could tell her if she was my daughter is
- 1:45:50Speaker 5: I would offer her the idea that that is– a
- 1:45:56Speaker 5: step that this could teach you in your life, if
- 1:46:01Speaker 5: it never really hit home, that as much as this
- 1:46:06Speaker 5: social media thing is the bedrock in which your age
- 1:46:11Speaker 5: group has built life, this might be something that you
- 1:46:17Speaker 5: don't get to participate in.
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: Yeah, at least in Tennessee until after your career is over.
- 1:46:25Speaker 5: The modern athlete feels like they shouldn't have to give
- 1:46:29Speaker 5: up anything.
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: Anything at all.
- 1:46:32Speaker 5: To succeed, to live. It's not the modern athlete. It's
- 1:46:36Speaker 5: the modern person. Well, I'm saying the attitude since we're
- 1:46:40Speaker 5: talking athlete. They think that they're supposed to make every
- 1:46:43Speaker 5: wedding and birthday and all that, take off, leave, a
- 1:46:49Speaker 5: different mindset.
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: Most definitely. You know, 30 years ago, it was more
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: of a, you better hold that baby until the game over.
- 1:46:57Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah. You better hold it until tomorrow.
- 1:47:00Speaker 7: You don't have a life until the season is over.
- 1:47:02Speaker 5: You know, and we can get there tomorrow. Now that's
- 1:47:04Speaker 5: not how it works. And I would just say, hey, DeCoco,
- 1:47:08Speaker 5: I'm not telling you this is not something. I'm saying,
- 1:47:11Speaker 5: but these are the people that are on there. And
- 1:47:16Speaker 5: these are the comments that are going to actually make
- 1:47:19Speaker 5: the algorithm work. And now see, this is the thing.
- 1:47:23Speaker 5: Their algorithm is waiting on the racist comment. It doesn't
- 1:47:30Speaker 5: care nothing about the 10 that was before talking about
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: how tough you were and how proud we were. It's
- 1:47:34Speaker 5: waiting on the one that gets these stories to ESPN.
- 1:47:40Speaker 5: They're not going to report how the social media was
- 1:47:42Speaker 5: so happy for Coco.
- 1:47:45Speaker 7: Now, this is the thing too, Sports Jockey. You don't
- 1:47:47Speaker 7: do social media, so you might not be aware of
- 1:47:49Speaker 7: the fact that She could filter out all negative comments
- 1:47:53Speaker 7: if she wanted to. She could go into her app
- 1:47:56Speaker 7: and make it where anything that is remotely negative or
- 1:48:00Speaker 7: not positive, she never see it.
- 1:48:03Speaker 10: And then you're fooling yourself. Well, no, she's trying to
- 1:48:05Speaker 10: fool her fan base. That's what that is, to continue
- 1:48:08Speaker 10: to get them. Well, I think she's just trying to
- 1:48:10Speaker 10: fool herself. You seem to be hard on people. This
- 1:48:14Speaker 10: is your 23-year-old daughter. No, I'm just saying I think
- 1:48:16Speaker 10: she's trying to fool her fan base.
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: No, it's not. She's trying to fool her fan base.
- 1:48:20Speaker 10: By coming out to say, hey, I lost because this
- 1:48:24Speaker 10: comment I saw instead of just saying, hey, I just
- 1:48:26Speaker 10: lost because I didn't train.
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: I wasn't prepared to keep the fan base. Oh, man,
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: that's wrong. We still going to support you, Coco.
- 1:48:35Speaker 5: I think you've been around him too long, Big Kenny.
- 1:48:38Speaker 5: He takes everything in some kind of diabolical.
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: Approach. It's a beer chug.
- 1:48:48Speaker 5: I didn't meet this bad producer. It's a beer chug.
- 1:48:51Speaker 5: He's all pessimism. He has no optimism in him when
- 1:48:55Speaker 5: I hear him speak now. Everything is some kind of con.
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: That is right there.
- 1:49:01Speaker 6: If she said, oh, I just had an off day today,
- 1:49:06Speaker 6: She would lose all her fame?
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: You ever met a magician? He don't believe nothing.
- 1:49:11Speaker 5: We'll be back.
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: It's an illusion. It's an illusion. I'm telling you, magicians
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: don't believe nothing. Don't go away. More of the Sports
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: Jock Show.
- 1:49:29Speaker 11: With Wayne Gambia is coming up next.
- 1:49:33Speaker 12: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance. Three-quarters
- 1:49:36Speaker 12: of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece of
- 1:49:40Speaker 12: financial security, yet only 49% actually have life insurance.
- 1:49:44Speaker 25: When I was 25, me and my wife were just
- 1:49:46Speaker 25: getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:49:48Speaker 3: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind. What
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:49:54Speaker 25: When I was 40, with a kid in college and
- 1:49:56Speaker 25: bills piling up, I was worried how my family would
- 1:49:58Speaker 25: survive without me. That's when I made an appointment with
- 1:50:00Speaker 25: the insurance informant.
- 1:50:01Speaker 12: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family security,
- 1:50:04Speaker 12: no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:50:06Speaker 25: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:50:09Speaker 25: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:50:11Speaker 5: The answer is easy.
- 1:50:12Speaker 12: Whether you're 25 or 50, whether you earn a little
- 1:50:14Speaker 12: or a lot, all you need is the insurance informant
- 1:50:17Speaker 12: to help you build a foundation of security.
- 1:50:19Speaker 3: Because without you, your family will have two options.
- 1:50:22Speaker 12: Benefits or bills which legacy will you leave behind log
- 1:50:27Speaker 12: on today benefits or bills.com that's benefits or bills.com.
- 1:50:34Speaker 19: Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive while
- 1:50:37Speaker 19: using their typewriters why should it be any different for
- 1:50:41Speaker 19: us kids and our cell phones distracted driving was the
- 1:50:44Speaker 19: cause of more than 3 000 deaths in 2022 come
- 1:50:46Speaker 19: on we're smarter than this Let's put down the phones
- 1:50:51Speaker 19: and focus on the roads. Drive safe, everybody.
- 1:50:55Speaker 20: Don't drive distracted. A message brought to you by the
- 1:50:58Speaker 20: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the
- 1:51:02Speaker 20: Ad Council.
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: And now, back to the sports genre, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:51:08Speaker 11: Now, it's time for the scoreboard, where we put a
- 1:51:14Speaker 11: spin on life and sports and how they intermingle.
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: On the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:51:34Speaker 26: The way you do me.
- 1:51:48Speaker 5: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:51:50Speaker 5: Shock Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you. Last week, one comment.
- 1:51:53Speaker 5: Thank you, Victor Wyman-Yamba, for standing for your principles. Big
- 1:51:57Speaker 5: report that he was not with all these gambling sites.
- 1:52:01Speaker 5: I don't know why that's always, that's not his thing,
- 1:52:05Speaker 5: and he doesn't want to support something. That's why we
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: made the jokes about Tom Brady and the Pizza Hut.
- 1:52:13Speaker 5: Because people want to feel like you halfway are using
- 1:52:16Speaker 5: or doing what it is that you say that you're selling.
- 1:52:19Speaker 5: Victor Wiminyamba doesn't want to support betting sites.
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:52:28Speaker 5: What's wrong with him having that stance? So many articles
- 1:52:32Speaker 5: made it seem like he was delusional. And because the
- 1:52:38Speaker 5: NBA goes along with it, he should go along with
- 1:52:41Speaker 5: I told you that I got scared when I saw
- 1:52:44Speaker 5: Kurt Warner the great hall of famer supporting a betting
- 1:52:49Speaker 5: site I was a teammate of him I know how
- 1:52:52Speaker 5: at least at that time he was entrenched in his
- 1:52:55Speaker 5: faith and to be supporting a betting site is going
- 1:53:00Speaker 5: against your faith so Victor Blimeyamba, don't know his faith,
- 1:53:05Speaker 5: but I know he seems to have some principles, at
- 1:53:07Speaker 5: least now at the ripe old age of 21, 22,
- 1:53:09Speaker 5: whatever he is now, that that's not something that he
- 1:53:12Speaker 5: wants to hitch his trailer to. So why not support
- 1:53:16Speaker 5: him instead of trying to make it seem like he's
- 1:53:19Speaker 5: the odd person in this situation. Texas Barber, they didn't
- 1:53:25Speaker 5: give his name, guys, but he returned $ 128, 000. Someone left
- 1:53:33Speaker 5: on top of an ATM. He found the people. He
- 1:53:38Speaker 5: didn't want to be, he didn't want his name in anything,
- 1:53:43Speaker 5: but he did return the money. Someone had left the
- 1:53:46Speaker 5: bag or he, well, he doesn't know how the bag
- 1:53:49Speaker 5: got there, but it was there on top of the
- 1:53:51Speaker 5: ATM when he got there. So interesting. Cause I know
- 1:53:59Speaker 5: two of you definitely, would have just you know it
- 1:54:05Speaker 5: would never hit y'all account y'all would have spent it
- 1:54:08Speaker 5: as cash.
- 1:54:08Speaker 7: Wait wait wait now you saying i walk up to
- 1:54:11Speaker 7: an atm machine uh-huh and just right there on top
- 1:54:14Speaker 7: of the atm is a bag not a bank bag
- 1:54:18Speaker 7: just a random bag with 170 128 514.
- 1:54:21Speaker 26: Dollars Ain't God good Ain't God good Wait now Either
- 1:54:36Speaker 26: we gonna believe all of it Or none of it
- 1:54:40Speaker 26: The Lord works in mysterious ways Can we agree on that?
- 1:54:43Speaker 7: Yes he does You should never look a gift horse
- 1:54:46Speaker 7: in the mouth Can we agree on that?
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: No you should look him in the mouth I'm.
- 1:54:51Speaker 5: Just saying Is it because I found it on top
- 1:54:55Speaker 5: Is it because I found it.
- 1:54:57Speaker 7: On top Of a telemachine that I should return it? Now,
- 1:55:00Speaker 7: if I was just in the alley and found it?
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: No, just that you knew it was not yours. You
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: should have tried to figure out.
- 1:55:06Speaker 5: Whose money is this.
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:55:11Speaker 10: He might have missed a paper. I would have given
- 1:55:14Speaker 10: back the $ 514. And that's the elder. Now, listen to
- 1:55:19Speaker 10: the elder.
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: I would have.
- 1:55:21Speaker 5: Returned the money. I would have made an attempt. Even
- 1:55:24Speaker 5: if I would have hoped nobody claimed it. I would
- 1:55:28Speaker 5: have you.
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: Gonna do the 90 days wait to somebody they.
- 1:55:31Speaker 5: Gonna no they didn't mention who it was just a
- 1:55:34Speaker 5: report that the person whose money it was did get
- 1:55:37Speaker 5: the money back cause I'm sure the police wanna know
- 1:55:40Speaker 5: now where y'all get the $ 120, 000.
- 1:55:41Speaker 10: You done bought the police in you done bought the
- 1:55:44Speaker 10: feds everybody asking all these questions.
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: Well people have money yeah I'm saying yeah but it could.
- 1:55:49Speaker 6: Have been a deposit from a nightclub or anywhere yeah
- 1:55:52Speaker 6: restaurant that was something happened in between.
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: Um People forget things like that, too. People get sidetracked.
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: Enough people do it that somebody.
- 1:56:04Speaker 14: $ 128, 000?
- 1:56:04Speaker 7: I'm saying, especially if you're trying to make a night deposit.
- 1:56:06Speaker 7: That guy's not making the money run anymore. Yeah, especially
- 1:56:09Speaker 7: if you're making a night deposit. You're trying to hurry
- 1:56:11Speaker 7: up and get that done. Yeah, so that's interesting. Lamar
- 1:56:15Speaker 7: Jackson still may be out this Sunday night versus the Falcons.
- 1:56:20Speaker 7: Lane Johnson— The big right tackle for the Eagles is retiring,
- 1:56:25Speaker 7: so he's going to work on his mental health and
- 1:56:29Speaker 7: try to get things. Lane, you don't have to give
- 1:56:31Speaker 7: us no excuse. You've been around 13, 14 years, a
- 1:56:34Speaker 7: couple of Pro Bowls, a Super Bowl ring. You don't
- 1:56:37Speaker 7: want to play no more? You don't know when it's
- 1:56:38Speaker 7: going to hit you?
- 1:56:40Speaker 5: He didn't play this last game. Nobody knows. At least
- 1:56:44Speaker 5: you didn't do it. The guy that retired... for the
- 1:56:47Speaker 5: Bills a couple of years ago.
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: In the middle of the game of Vontae Davis.
- 1:56:51Speaker 5: Right. It wasn't that he retired. I condemned him that
- 1:56:56Speaker 5: he should have finished the game. It could have hit
- 1:57:00Speaker 5: you when it hit you. Guy could have ran an
- 1:57:04Speaker 5: out route or something and you realize, man, I'm tired
- 1:57:09Speaker 5: of this. But he should have had enough professionalism to
- 1:57:13Speaker 5: finish the mission and then retire. It wasn't that he retired.
- 1:57:16Speaker 5: You don't really know when that feeling is going to
- 1:57:19Speaker 5: hit you. It's like that feeling when you start as
- 1:57:23Speaker 5: an athlete realizing you're not running as fast, you're not
- 1:57:27Speaker 5: as quick. You start seeing your deficiencies and you go
- 1:57:31Speaker 5: to trying to needle and carbo and think, oh no,
- 1:57:35Speaker 5: it must be I didn't get enough sleep. And it's like, no,
- 1:57:38Speaker 5: you just can't hit that gear.
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: Anymore.
- 1:57:40Speaker 5: You better find some other way to get open, but
- 1:57:43Speaker 5: it ain't going to be because you're running by people.
- 1:57:46Speaker 5: The Portland Trailblazers, excuse me, with the Portland Trailblazers, right?
- 1:57:52Speaker 5: Fired the young man last week. In the middle of
- 1:57:56Speaker 5: the broadcast. Brandon Bell.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: I thought it was the day they hired him.
- 1:58:00Speaker 5: The day they hired him. They fired him later because
- 1:58:03Speaker 5: of a social media post from when he was 14, 15.
- 1:58:08Speaker 5: Maybe we'll talk about this next show. I keep telling
- 1:58:10Speaker 5: you guys, hey, we might need to comprise a green book.
- 1:58:13Speaker 5: Y'all laugh, but it's serious. It says that he said
- 1:58:19Speaker 5: that when he was 14, there was something that closet
- 1:58:22Speaker 5: whores on one of the posts, big girls on one
- 1:58:27Speaker 5: of them, and another one says Asian people piss me off.
- 1:58:35Speaker 5: I wouldn't have necessarily knew those registered as sexist or
- 1:58:40Speaker 5: racist to the degree of losing your job.
- 1:58:44Speaker 7: But if he can lose his job over that, then T.O.
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: Can definitely be sued.
- 1:58:50Speaker 5: And that was my point. If he can be fired
- 1:58:53Speaker 5: for that at 14, then T.O. can be sued today.
- 1:58:58Speaker 6: People will go back 15 years to find something you said.
- 1:59:02Speaker 6: It doesn't matter how old you are.
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: Yeah, he's 29 now. This is something that was posted
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: on his account.
- 1:59:07Speaker 6: You are held to that same professional standard when you
- 1:59:11Speaker 6: are 14 on social media as you are when you
- 1:59:15Speaker 6: are 29. So someone, I'm sure that went back to
- 1:59:19Speaker 6: finding these things.
- 1:59:20Speaker 5: However, even if that's how they see it, right? I
- 1:59:24Speaker 5: would need to know that Brandon in the 10th grade
- 1:59:30Speaker 5: knew that these things meant what you're saying.
- 1:59:34Speaker 1: And they don't.
- 1:59:35Speaker 10: Because at that time, even when he was in the
- 1:59:37Speaker 10: 10th grade, we wouldn't even know.
- 1:59:39Speaker 5: Even if you went back that far, I wouldn't even know.
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: We wasn't in any climate. We wasn't in this climate
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: that we're in right now when he was in the
- 1:59:45Speaker 1: 10th grade.
- 1:59:45Speaker 6: I want to know that he can't make a comment
- 1:59:47Speaker 6: and say, it's about whatever you put out when you're 14.
- 1:59:50Speaker 5: I didn't know that. What is that?
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: I don't even know what a closet whore is. I
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: guess whores in a closet.
- 1:59:56Speaker 5: I don't know what it means. Did you know that
- 1:59:58Speaker 5: was sexist? I did not know. Because what kind of whore?
- 2:00:02Speaker 7: I guess just like the beer, you're projecting that onto females.
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: Because he's a male.
- 2:00:10Speaker 5: Because there's a man in the closet.
- 2:00:13Speaker 1: Man whore. They call them man whores.
- 2:00:15Speaker 5: Yeah. And that's why I said the Green Book. We
- 2:00:18Speaker 5: need to give it out to younger people and myself.
- 2:00:21Speaker 5: So I don't know. I didn't know some of these things.
- 2:00:23Speaker 5: I can see that you might not like the statement.
- 2:00:26Speaker 5: I didn't know they registered to an ism.
- 2:00:29Speaker 13: Right.
- 2:00:30Speaker 1: Where I get to be fired.
- 2:00:31Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 2:00:32Speaker 5: And we are in the ocean.
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: The truth is, he will throw your a * *
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: in the ocean.
- 2:00:40Speaker 3: It's time to wrap things up.
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: On the Sports Jack Show with Wayne.
- 2:01:00Speaker 5: When you hear the sounds of the ocean, give the
- 2:01:02Speaker 5: sports shop just a minute to vent. We'd like to
- 2:01:03Speaker 5: thank you for tuning in to the show today. Any segment,
- 2:01:07Speaker 5: any minute, any hour that you gave us, any comment online.
- 2:01:11Speaker 5: Thank you very much, McKinney. Comanche Greg, bad producer, thank
- 2:01:14Speaker 5: you for your contribution. If you missed any of the show,
- 2:01:16Speaker 5: you can go to Amazon Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Audible, Deezer, iHeartRadio,
- 2:01:22Speaker 5: Spotify to catch the replay. Going in the ocean today,
- 2:01:26Speaker 5: because I just know there's been a couple of times
- 2:01:29Speaker 5: I've had to do this just over the years. Chinese
- 2:01:33Speaker 5: fitness influencer with over half a million social media followers.
- 2:01:41Speaker 5: disqualified from the Berlin Marathon. Remember, she's a Chinese fitness influencer.
- 2:01:46Speaker 1: About halfway through the race, she pulled what I like
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: to commonly call the big Kenny. She caught a ride.
- 2:01:59Speaker 5: For the rest of the race.
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: So she.
- 2:02:02Speaker 5: Had a bike waiting on her. She jumped on the
- 2:02:05Speaker 5: back of kind of Didn't finish the race. Got a
- 2:02:09Speaker 5: little halfway and then decided to cut corners. That's why
- 2:02:14Speaker 5: she was disqualified.
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: Yu Yang's son, 30 years old.
- 2:02:24Speaker 5: Not sure what happened with her half a million social
- 2:02:26Speaker 5: media followers. But to me, I would unfollow someone who
- 2:02:29Speaker 5: calls himself a fitness influencer who would cheat. That's just me.
- 2:02:34Speaker 5: And I know we've done this because we had different marathons.
- 2:02:37Speaker 5: I think one time somebody even got in a cab.
- 2:02:39Speaker 1: Yeah, he did.
- 2:02:40Speaker 5: It was a service.
- 2:02:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he caught a cab.
- 2:02:43Speaker 7: And I ain't judging because we done all jumped in
- 2:02:45Speaker 7: a cab while we was running a marathon.
- 2:02:47Speaker 1: Am I right? Am I right?
- 2:02:50Speaker 5: So for that, Comanche Gregg.
- 2:02:53Speaker 1: Walk the plank.
- 2:03:03Speaker 5: She finished the race, even posted that it was her
- 2:03:06Speaker 5: personal best. Took pictures and photos as well that she
- 2:03:11Speaker 5: posted with her T-shirt and her medal. Personal best. Now
- 2:03:17Speaker 5: y'all getting a picture of why she in the ocean
- 2:03:20Speaker 5: right now. As we say on Thursday, we'll see you
- 2:03:23Speaker 5: in the future. Enjoy that Bama, Georgia in the bad weather.
- 2:03:30Speaker 1: Peace.
