- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magic. Magic.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Magic. 94.9. And welcome to a new episode of Scotty
- 0:05Speaker 2: and Abby Unfiltered. As always, thank you. I see more
- 0:09Speaker 2: and more comments every time we talk about them.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Oh, fun. What do we got this time?
- 0:12Speaker 2: So anytime you're listening either on Spotify or YouTube, or honestly, Abby,
- 0:16Speaker 2: I have no idea where else this podcast goes.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Maybe people are streaming on OnlyFans?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Have they found our secret OnlyFans account?
- 0:22Speaker 2: If we're getting paid for it, I haven't seen a
- 0:24Speaker 2: paycheck yet. But anytime you're listening to the episode, you
- 0:27Speaker 2: can always leave some comments. So let's go through and
- 0:29Speaker 2: see some. that have actually weighed in, especially because we
- 0:32Speaker 2: had a recent episode with our coworker Miranda.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Love Miranda.
- 0:35Speaker 2: What I love about Miranda is that she reminds us
- 0:37Speaker 2: of all the situations that we went through in our
- 0:39Speaker 2: young 20s too.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I sometimes talk to her and I think to myself,
- 0:42Speaker 1: was I like this at 22? And then I was like, probably.
- 0:45Speaker 1: And I love it.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Yeah, no, we are supposed to be. Like that's the
- 0:47Speaker 2: whole part of being in your young 20s. And a
- 0:49Speaker 2: lot of you connected with that. Sarah said, fireball is
- 0:52Speaker 2: the devil's nectar.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Oh, my God. That's so funny. Who said that?
- 0:55Speaker 2: Sarah.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Sarah.
- 0:56Speaker 2: A lot of us have those stories with certain alcohols that, like,
- 1:00Speaker 2: if you're able to ever drink it again after a
- 1:02Speaker 2: crazy experience. It takes years. And for, like, that's what
- 1:05Speaker 2: we talked about on the podcast. Like, I'm just now
- 1:08Speaker 2: able to sip Fireball, and it took seven years.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Really? Yeah. Did you throw up on Fireball?
- 1:14Speaker 2: I think we just had it so much in college
- 1:16Speaker 2: that it was always available. And it was like, I'm
- 1:19Speaker 2: sure it was around before my college years. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:21Speaker 2: But it was just always at the bar. It was
- 1:23Speaker 2: always at a party. And so it was like, Sean,
- 1:25Speaker 2: it's a Fireball.
- 1:26Speaker 1: What's funny is I have never had... an experience so
- 1:29Speaker 1: bad that I can't drink the alcohol again. I had
- 1:31Speaker 1: one tequila experience that made me a little go like,
- 1:34Speaker 1: but after that I was like, whatever.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't know. Like when- Wussies.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Woman up.
- 1:39Speaker 2: I think what I, like I'm traumatized. Like I can't
- 1:41Speaker 2: do shots anymore at all. Like I could do them,
- 1:44Speaker 2: but it's never enjoyable. Like when we went out and
- 1:47Speaker 2: we're talking to Miranda about this a little bit, like
- 1:49Speaker 2: she'll be like, shot. Oh, yeah. And she hits it.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Or even like Alexia, our midday gal. She's a shot queen.
- 1:55Speaker 1: She has a Cuban liver, though. Me and you have
- 1:58Speaker 1: like a Hellman's can filtering out all the toxins.
- 2:01Speaker 2: A little white Irish liquor. Like, I don't know. I
- 2:03Speaker 2: could take down a beer. Like, I could still chug
- 2:05Speaker 2: a beer. Yeah. But a shot? No chance.
- 2:07Speaker 1: My Irish ancestors were like... Her genes are getting diluted.
- 2:10Speaker 2: So disappointed.
- 2:11Speaker 1: What is she doing? She's just eating. She's not eating
- 2:13Speaker 1: carbs and she can't hold her liquor. The hell?
- 2:16Speaker 2: What is the liquor or the drink that you can
- 2:18Speaker 2: no longer have and why? Oh, yeah.
- 2:21Speaker 1: The story is what makes it fun.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Put that in the comments.
- 2:23Speaker 1: My brother, the first time, because me and him, we
- 2:25Speaker 1: grew up super, super sheltered. So me and him didn't
- 2:28Speaker 1: drink in high school. And so the first time he
- 2:30Speaker 1: threw up from alcohol was gin. I'm like, what were
- 2:32Speaker 1: you doing? I'm like, why were you drinking gin in college?
- 2:35Speaker 1: Vodka makes sense to me. Like I've had some scary
- 2:38Speaker 1: experiences on vodka. Like I become a different person. We
- 2:40Speaker 1: know this about me. I can't drink vodka, but still,
- 2:43Speaker 1: even when I have vodka, I'm like, you know, it's fine.
- 2:45Speaker 1: But him with gin, I'm like, where did you find
- 2:47Speaker 1: a can of gin or a bottle of gin?
- 2:49Speaker 2: And you were 18. It was like, I remember growing up.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Gin was an old man's drink. Like that was actually
- 2:54Speaker 2: my first experience with alcohol was gin because my grandpa
- 2:57Speaker 2: used to have it. And well, this is kind of
- 2:59Speaker 2: how we did it. I was young. My grandpa would
- 3:00Speaker 2: get like a bottle of gin and, And I remember
- 3:02Speaker 2: we were at his apartment, and I was probably, I
- 3:05Speaker 2: don't know, 12? And it looked good. Older people make
- 3:12Speaker 2: things that are bad for you look good. So he's
- 3:14Speaker 2: casually drinking a glass of gin or whatever it was,
- 3:17Speaker 2: maybe with a little club soda. And I was like,
- 3:20Speaker 2: I want to try it. And my dad's like, you
- 3:22Speaker 2: know what? You want to keep complaining about it? You
- 3:24Speaker 2: want to try it? Go ahead. Take a sip. And
- 3:27Speaker 2: it was as if I took a sip of rubbing alcohol.
- 3:30Speaker 2: It was like fire. And I spit it up immediately.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Like my brother was able to take a little sip
- 3:35Speaker 2: and he was able to handle it. I put it
- 3:37Speaker 2: in my mouth and immediately spit it right back out.
- 3:40Speaker 2: And for years I was like, gin is not it. Now,
- 3:43Speaker 2: as a wise 30-year-old, you get me like a gin
- 3:45Speaker 2: and tonic, I can sip on that. I kind of
- 3:48Speaker 2: find it enjoyable. Or what's the other one? The French 75?
- 3:51Speaker 1: 75?
- 3:52Speaker 2: Fantastic.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Yeah, to me, gin is something you only drink in
- 3:54Speaker 1: a cocktail. I'm not, like, gonna get a gin and soda.
- 3:57Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 3:58Speaker 2: I like that. Like, if you do, like, a tequila
- 4:00Speaker 2: soda and lime, like, I can do the same thing
- 4:02Speaker 2: with gin. Or it's, like, gin and lime with a
- 4:04Speaker 2: little soda. Because I just want the little bubbles. The
- 4:06Speaker 2: bubbles make my mouth happy. So, I know there's a
- 4:08Speaker 2: couple drinks out there that people can't stand anymore. Luckily...
- 4:12Speaker 2: That's not one that does it, but just shots in general.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I feel like I was never taught the proper way
- 4:18Speaker 2: to do it because it sits in my mouth for
- 4:19Speaker 2: like five seconds before I'm able to get it done.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Why would you do that?
- 4:21Speaker 2: I don't know because I don't know how people just
- 4:23Speaker 2: open their throat.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Scott's like, I think it's mouthwash.
- 4:26Speaker 2: It feels like it.
- 4:27Speaker 1: It tastes the same because you're taking shots of gin,
- 4:29Speaker 1: so you're like, this is Listerine.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And everyone has that thing that it's like, well, is
- 4:33Speaker 2: it cleansing out my body because it's so potent? Is
- 4:35Speaker 2: it killing every germ in my mouth?
- 4:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not a shots gal unless I've committed to
- 4:39Speaker 1: liquor for the night. And we're all taking shots of
- 4:41Speaker 1: the same liquor that I've been drinking. I think I
- 4:43Speaker 1: made one exception when we went to the lightning game.
- 4:45Speaker 1: We got those free Tito shots because I think I
- 4:49Speaker 1: had committed to tequila that day. Oh, yes. And then
- 4:51Speaker 1: you remember we got that blue shot.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Oh, I'm telling you, remember a couple episodes I said
- 4:57Speaker 2: I have problems with memory.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Were you hammered that night? No, no, no. Remember, we
- 5:00Speaker 1: went to the Gator tailgate at the patio, and then
- 5:02Speaker 1: we went to the lightning game, and we sat center ice,
- 5:04Speaker 1: and we were drinking Tito shots. We went to that bar,
- 5:07Speaker 1: and we got the break-in Tito shots. Oh, yes, yes.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, the Tito sample.
- 5:10Speaker 1: That's the only time I made the exception, because I
- 5:12Speaker 1: was like, whatever, because we didn't have the open bar.
- 5:14Speaker 1: We weren't in the club.
- 5:15Speaker 2: We were in the mark.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I was really upset by that. I was like, you
- 5:17Speaker 1: know what? It's free alcohol. I'm taking it. Because they
- 5:20Speaker 1: charge you $ 30 for a tequila soda.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yeah. How did that shot hit you if you were
- 5:25Speaker 2: just sipping tequila before?
- 5:26Speaker 1: I was fine. Yeah, I was looking back at one
- 5:28Speaker 1: of the videos that I had posted that night, because
- 5:30Speaker 1: it was the night that I posted about Thunderbug.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Oh, yes.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. And I was like, I seem so coherent there,
- 5:35Speaker 1: but I was like, I was really hammered. I was, like, impressed.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I was like, wow, I don't even look drunk. Like,
- 5:40Speaker 1: I look very... And that's why I drink tequila, because
- 5:43Speaker 1: tequila keeps me really, like, just with it.
- 5:45Speaker 2: That's it. It's impressive. You can hold it together very well.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I know.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Other people cannot... Other people just let all the wheels
- 5:50Speaker 2: fall off.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Well, I mean, then you get me on white wine
- 5:52Speaker 1: and I'm making out with 22-year-olds at the bar.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Every now and then it's fine. Yeah. It's fine. Another thing, gosh,
- 5:58Speaker 2: where did my memory just go? Ah! I was just
- 6:01Speaker 2: thinking about some of the things that we have coming
- 6:02Speaker 2: up with. You going to Miami, and then I was
- 6:04Speaker 2: thinking about this yesterday as I was planning Chicago. I
- 6:06Speaker 2: think I made a grave, a massive error in this trip.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 6:10Speaker 2: To Chicago, because I didn't realize, and if you're in Atlanta,
- 6:14Speaker 2: this is probably going to sound like such a wimp move.
- 6:17Speaker 2: It's going to be like 50 degrees in Chicago, and
- 6:20Speaker 2: we are going to freeze our asses off.
- 6:22Speaker 1: You know what? I feel like the cold up there
- 6:25Speaker 1: is different.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I think so, too.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Because it's not as humid. Because I went to Chicago
- 6:29Speaker 1: two years ago with my mom for the Chicago Marathon,
- 6:32Speaker 1: and it would have been like this time around like mid-October,
- 6:35Speaker 1: early to mid-October. And I remember packing boots. and pants
- 6:38Speaker 1: and being like, oh my God, I'm going to be
- 6:39Speaker 1: so cold.
- 6:39Speaker 2: And I was hot.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Oh, really? Yeah, because I think it's just a more
- 6:42Speaker 1: comfortable 50 degrees than it is here. Like, for example,
- 6:45Speaker 1: when I wake up and I walk outside in the morning,
- 6:48Speaker 1: I'm cold. And I think it's because the air is
- 6:50Speaker 1: so wet that it just feels more cold. Does that
- 6:53Speaker 1: make sense?
- 6:53Speaker 2: It does. Because even this morning, yeah, it's like 62,
- 6:55Speaker 2: and I'm like, I'm literally in sweats and a jacket
- 6:58Speaker 2: because I was like, It's cold outside, y'all.
- 7:00Speaker 1: And you're cold. That's the only thing. I really don't
- 7:03Speaker 1: like the Florida weather because I feel like you get
- 7:04Speaker 1: like two months of it just being beautiful. And it's
- 7:08Speaker 1: just the spring. Thank God it's my birthday. Like, I
- 7:10Speaker 1: love April. I love May. But like when you go
- 7:12Speaker 1: outside in the summer, it's too fucking hot. And then
- 7:16Speaker 1: when you go outside in the fall, you get like this.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Like one day it's just cold. And then it's just cold.
- 7:21Speaker 1: And then randomly hot. And then it's January and February
- 7:24Speaker 1: and you're like, oh my God, it's the worst.
- 7:26Speaker 2: We get like three months where it's actually glorious. Like
- 7:28Speaker 2: I do remember that this year where I was.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Like, wow.
- 7:30Speaker 2: If it stayed like this.
- 7:32Speaker 1: April and May and a little bit of March. Oh
- 7:34Speaker 1: my God, it's perfect. And it feels nice now, but
- 7:37Speaker 1: we're still in that phase where it's not as temperate.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Like spring is very temperate. Oh my God, we're so
- 7:42Speaker 1: fucking old. We're talking about the weather. I'm like spring
- 7:45Speaker 1: is so temperate. And then here it's like, Cold and
- 7:48Speaker 1: then hot. Cold and then hot. And then it'll get
- 7:50Speaker 1: cold for three months.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Well, that's how I don't feel prepared. And that's what
- 7:54Speaker 2: I realized yesterday as I'm setting up the plans for Chicago.
- 7:56Speaker 2: A lot of people up north, they have things for
- 7:58Speaker 2: the cold. I have nothing. I have this jacket. I
- 8:00Speaker 2: have like one pair of jeans. And so you also
- 8:03Speaker 2: have to dress differently for it. Like the clothing there
- 8:06Speaker 2: is just, I don't know. People from the north know
- 8:08Speaker 2: it's made different.
- 8:09Speaker 1: But that's the other thing is when you live in
- 8:11Speaker 1: a place like Chicago, you have the proper attire to
- 8:13Speaker 1: wear when it gets cold. Listen, Chicago's winter... Chicago's winters
- 8:17Speaker 1: are brutal. I'm not going to say that it's not brutal.
- 8:19Speaker 1: But anywhere else in the country, you just have your
- 8:22Speaker 1: big parka and then you just wear your big parka
- 8:23Speaker 1: and your boots and you're cold and it's whatever. But
- 8:26Speaker 1: here when it gets cold, it's cold for two or
- 8:30Speaker 1: three months, but you don't have any winter clothes.
- 8:33Speaker 2: It's not cold enough to go all out and get
- 8:35Speaker 2: a whole wardrobe for it.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Or it'll get really hot in the middle of the
- 8:38Speaker 1: day and then you're like, why did I have this
- 8:39Speaker 1: big parka? Oh yeah, because it was 40 degrees this morning.
- 8:41Speaker 2: That's going to be today. Where it's like you started today,
- 8:43Speaker 2: you walked out and you're like, ugh. And then you're
- 8:45Speaker 2: going to walk out and you're going to sweat as
- 8:46Speaker 2: you go to your car. But that's why I felt
- 8:48Speaker 2: kind of guilty because I was like, damn. I mean,
- 8:50Speaker 2: I planned this trip months ago in July.
- 8:53Speaker 1: No, but October is a beautiful time to go to Chicago.
- 8:55Speaker 2: That's what I'm hoping for. I'm hoping we get out
- 8:56Speaker 2: there because we get in Friday and it's immediately like
- 8:59Speaker 2: to the hotel, to the concert. And then Saturday we
- 9:02Speaker 2: have all day. So I was like trying to put
- 9:04Speaker 2: together the perfect itinerary for what to do in Chicago.
- 9:07Speaker 2: And thank God for TikTok because you could type in
- 9:10Speaker 2: any place and like what to do. And there's thousands
- 9:13Speaker 2: of videos.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Oh, 100%. Just go drink down the Riverwalk. I don't
- 9:16Speaker 1: know what it's called. Yeah, just like bar hop or whatever.
- 9:18Speaker 1: And there's a million good restaurants. I mean, you'll find
- 9:21Speaker 1: something to do.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Yeah. That's kind of the plan to keep it loose
- 9:24Speaker 2: enough to be like, I have some things in mind.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Like there's a couple key restaurants I've heard about. Like
- 9:29Speaker 2: there's like Billy Goat, the tavern or something like that. Yeah,
- 9:31Speaker 2: I've heard that one. Okay, I've heard that one. There's
- 9:33Speaker 2: this other place called Green Mill. It's like a jazz bar.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:37Speaker 2: So like speaking of gin, probably go in there.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I bet you a lot of our listeners have good
- 9:40Speaker 1: recommendations too.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Let me know at Scott Tavlin on Instagram or put
- 9:44Speaker 2: it in the comments because I'm putting together the itinerary.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I want to make sure I'm taking a big priority
- 9:49Speaker 2: in this trip and not just making Brianna do all
- 9:52Speaker 2: the planning.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Do you have any dinner reservations or are you just
- 9:54Speaker 1: kind of going to go with the flow?
- 9:56Speaker 2: I made one yesterday that I ended up canceling because
- 9:59Speaker 2: I looked at the map. and I was like, it's
- 10:00Speaker 2: a little far out there and I don't want to
- 10:01Speaker 2: be tied down to a time.
- 10:03Speaker 1: What's the restaurant?
- 10:04Speaker 2: It was like Pecules. Pecules Pizzeria. You know Pecules. They
- 10:10Speaker 2: had like a good deep dish recommendation.
- 10:12Speaker 1: The place to go, and I don't know if it's
- 10:14Speaker 1: necessarily good for pizza, but it's like a very social place.
- 10:17Speaker 1: It's the kind of place I think you would like
- 10:19Speaker 1: to go because it'll be, it's not a bar, but
- 10:21Speaker 1: it's like a restaurant that I think is very lively.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I think it's called literally just Pizza Parlor.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Pizza Parlor?
- 10:27Speaker 1: But it's like a, it's a cool chain. Hang on,
- 10:30Speaker 1: let me find it. Pizza Parlor, Chicago.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I'm interested in the chains because some people on TikTok
- 10:35Speaker 2: were dissing the chains.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Parlor Pizza. Parlor Pizza Bar. And yeah, I think it's
- 10:41Speaker 1: just like a very social, let me find like a
- 10:44Speaker 1: good photo. You know what I mean?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Just kind of like, Oh, yeah. And I want it
- 10:49Speaker 2: to be a beautiful view, too. Like, I want to
- 10:51Speaker 2: also do, like, the... Oh, that looks nice.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Yeah. But I've heard good things about this place. Like,
- 10:55Speaker 1: it just looks like a very, like, vibey social place
- 10:58Speaker 1: that I think you guys would enjoy.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to have a place like that that's lively.
- 11:02Speaker 2: And I also want to do, like, a rooftop situation where,
- 11:05Speaker 2: you know, you could actually see the city. Because I
- 11:07Speaker 2: think I am going to do, like, a couple of
- 11:08Speaker 2: the touristy things we're going to do. Yeah. Of course,
- 11:09Speaker 2: going to go see the bean. Got to see the bean.
- 11:12Speaker 1: And then.
- 11:12Speaker 2: And you can see that right here. And then... We're
- 11:17Speaker 2: going to go to, like, the Willis Tower thing where
- 11:19Speaker 2: you can go up all the way and see the
- 11:21Speaker 2: entire skyline of Chicago. Is that the Sears Tower? Yeah,
- 11:24Speaker 2: I think so. I think it's called the same thing.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 11:26Speaker 2: There's a couple of them. We're going to go to
- 11:28Speaker 2: the highest one so we can have the highest view.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Very fun.
- 11:30Speaker 2: And they have the one that you can, like, lean
- 11:32Speaker 2: out over the glass.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Also, weed is legal there.
- 11:34Speaker 2: In Chicago?
- 11:35Speaker 1: That's where I did weed for the first time.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I don't know if we're going to touch the weed.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't really recommend the drugs, but I'm just
- 11:43Speaker 1: saying that's your thing.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, maybe back in the day, but I
- 11:47Speaker 2: don't know. I was just talking to some friends about this.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm good. I'm good. We've talked, Brianna and
- 11:51Speaker 2: I have like, would we? And we're like, maybe, but
- 11:55Speaker 2: not right now. Yeah. Because it just gets me too anxious,
- 11:57Speaker 2: and I feel like if I do it, I'm just
- 11:58Speaker 2: going to overthink everything.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I'm not fun on weed.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I'm not either. That's what I'm saying. Well, I have
- 12:04Speaker 2: one friend, well, maybe two, that if we do an
- 12:08Speaker 2: edible together... will just die of laughter. And it's the
- 12:11Speaker 2: greatest experience.
- 12:12Speaker 1: I've never had the giggly experience. Like everyone says they
- 12:14Speaker 1: get the giggles. I'm like, I would love that. I
- 12:16Speaker 1: love to laugh. Laughing is my favorite thing in the world.
- 12:19Speaker 1: But every time I do weed, I just, I go
- 12:21Speaker 1: to like the sunken place. Like I'm in my mind
- 12:23Speaker 1: and I'm like everything. That's exactly how I feel and
- 12:25Speaker 1: I hate it.
- 12:26Speaker 2: I wonder what it is. Okay, so let's talk as
- 12:27Speaker 2: like if we were potheads. So I think the phrase
- 12:30Speaker 2: would be, and it's like they would probably say, You
- 12:32Speaker 2: got to find the right strand. You know, you might
- 12:35Speaker 2: be doing indico and that means in the couch.
- 12:38Speaker 1: No, but I've been doing sativa.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Oh, well, then I don't know. Has it always, I
- 12:43Speaker 2: don't know if we're allowed to talk about these things,
- 12:44Speaker 2: but it's fine.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Why not? I don't know.
- 12:45Speaker 2: I guess it's legal in a lot of places.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Just like what we were talking about yesterday. I hate the,
- 12:50Speaker 1: I hate being censored. Like, As if people aren't having
- 12:52Speaker 1: these conversations.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Correct. Do you know what I mean?
- 12:54Speaker 1: Yes. Like, why are we going to pretend that people
- 12:55Speaker 1: don't talk about doing the weed? Yeah. I'm not a
- 12:57Speaker 1: big pothead. I'm not doing anything illegal.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Not doing it. Not literally not on the podcast
- 13:01Speaker 2: doing it. Yeah. So, okay. So has it only been
- 13:03Speaker 2: edibles that have made you feel that way?
- 13:05Speaker 1: I will say, so the problem is I think every,
- 13:07Speaker 1: I've only smoked once. Um. And it was somewhere legal.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Oh, there you go.
- 13:12Speaker 1: It was not Florida. It was not Georgia.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Check.
- 13:14Speaker 1: And I remember the problem is, is I think every
- 13:17Speaker 1: time I, the one time that I smoked, I enjoyed
- 13:21Speaker 1: the feeling when I smoked it, but I also am
- 13:23Speaker 1: a hypochondriac and I'm like, oh my God, my lungs.
- 13:26Speaker 1: But I think I also had taken an edible that night.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I know.
- 13:30Speaker 2: You went all in.
- 13:31Speaker 1: This is user error. But the other times I would
- 13:34Speaker 1: take edibles because in my mind, I'm like, oh, it's controlled.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Like I know how much I'm ingesting. Like I know
- 13:39Speaker 1: it's two and a half or five milligrams or whatever.
- 13:42Speaker 1: And that way I know I'm not going to do
- 13:43Speaker 1: too much. But then the problem is edibles don't hit
- 13:46Speaker 1: you at the right time.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:48Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 13:49Speaker 2: So then you're kind of like an hour and a
- 13:50Speaker 2: half later, be like, Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 1: But I've had some spooky experiences. I've had I've gone
- 13:55Speaker 1: to the crazy place.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, that's majority of the time. Like I've
- 13:58Speaker 2: been with people where I'm like, this isn't the right setting.
- 14:01Speaker 2: And I'm just like overthinking everything. But I do have it.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Like I went on a bachelor party in January and
- 14:06Speaker 2: it's just one of my buddies. We just sat there.
- 14:08Speaker 2: We took an edible and we just for like two
- 14:10Speaker 2: hours laughed. We watched like American Pie and just laughed.
- 14:13Speaker 2: And it's like the most soulful laugh where you just
- 14:15Speaker 2: can't stop. You remember it. Everyone's fine. Nobody's getting upset. But, like,
- 14:19Speaker 2: those memories stick with me. But they don't happen with everybody.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I know.
- 14:22Speaker 2: And it takes, like, a very, I don't know, we
- 14:24Speaker 2: had some random thing that we got and maybe it
- 14:27Speaker 2: wasn't even a real strand. I don't know, Delta 9
- 14:28Speaker 2: or whatever. But it hit perfectly. But it doesn't happen
- 14:31Speaker 2: like that all the time.
- 14:32Speaker 1: No, it's like you're playing Good Time Roulette. And I
- 14:35Speaker 1: don't want to play that. Yeah. Because I know how
- 14:37Speaker 1: alcohol is going to affect me. I always see, well,
- 14:40Speaker 1: first of all, I know how different alcohols impact me.
- 14:42Speaker 2: That's true.
- 14:43Speaker 1: But also I see alcohol as an amplifier. So that's
- 14:46Speaker 1: why I've never been, like, a sad drunk. Like, if
- 14:48Speaker 1: I'm sad, I don't want to drink because it's going
- 14:50Speaker 1: to make me more sad.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Oh, that's so true.
- 14:52Speaker 1: But if I'm out at a bar and I'm already
- 14:54Speaker 1: having fun, I'm like, oh, a shot of vodka will
- 14:57Speaker 1: make this more fun.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Damn. See, I think I'm a sad drunk. I'm not
- 15:00Speaker 2: a sad... I used to be... I would get... I
- 15:03Speaker 2: got to, like, say this carefully because, like, alcohol has bad,
- 15:06Speaker 2: you know, connections with it. But sometimes I'd get angry
- 15:08Speaker 2: with it because it would take my mind into a
- 15:10Speaker 2: wild place. Ooh. And then sometimes I'd get sad with it.
- 15:14Speaker 2: And I was like, I just wasn't in always the
- 15:16Speaker 2: healthiest situations. And so it really just brings that to life.
- 15:19Speaker 2: It's like, oh, you're feeling some type of way? Let's
- 15:22Speaker 2: make sure you double down on that thought.
- 15:23Speaker 1: It amplifies it.
- 15:24Speaker 2: And so that's why I was like, you know, I
- 15:26Speaker 2: guess tequila is the only upper. It was. It's kind
- 15:28Speaker 2: of enjoyable just to be able to sit and not feel,
- 15:30Speaker 2: you know, all up in my feels. But those things
- 15:32Speaker 2: have gone away now, which I actually really appreciate. But
- 15:34Speaker 2: I haven't touched weed really since I've been in this
- 15:37Speaker 2: great place. So I think now would be better. I
- 15:39Speaker 2: don't think I'd be as anxious. I don't think I'd
- 15:41Speaker 2: ruin every little relationship I have in my life by
- 15:44Speaker 2: simply doing one. So who knows? Maybe in Chicago we
- 15:47Speaker 2: get crazy on Saturday night.
- 15:48Speaker 1: That also wasn't me pushing you to do weed. It
- 15:50Speaker 1: was just, hey, it happens to be legal there. Are
- 15:53Speaker 1: you guys going to do it?
- 15:53Speaker 2: No, it's just something that like Brianna and I have
- 15:55Speaker 2: talked about in recent passing where it's like, would we?
- 15:59Speaker 1: Maybe. Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Maybe we'll put it on the little radar. Anyway, what
- 16:03Speaker 2: else has happened with you, Abby?
- 16:04Speaker 1: I'm going to Miami and my therapist wants me to
- 16:07Speaker 1: ruin it by having deep conversations with my best friend.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I'm there to get drunk and go
- 16:12Speaker 1: to the club. That's what I'm going to do. I
- 16:15Speaker 1: don't want to hash out a conversation over brunch.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah. It's like if you're only there for a little
- 16:20Speaker 2: bit of time, do you really want to get into
- 16:22Speaker 2: the weeds of it?
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm there for 24 hours. And so yesterday my therapist
- 16:25Speaker 1: and I were talking about my non-romantic relationship. She's just like,
- 16:28Speaker 1: talk to me about your history with friendships. Like who
- 16:30Speaker 1: are your close friends right now? What is your relationship
- 16:32Speaker 1: like with them? And she's like, I just want to
- 16:34Speaker 1: challenge you to be more emotionally vulnerable with your friends.
- 16:37Speaker 1: So she said, if you want to grow in your whatever,
- 16:40Speaker 1: She was like, ask about what kind of friend you
- 16:42Speaker 1: are and have them describe you from their perspective. And
- 16:46Speaker 1: I was like, first of all, that sounds kind of rude.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Why do you want me to ask what kind of
- 16:50Speaker 1: friend I am? Second of all, I don't want to
- 16:52Speaker 1: ruin my Miami trip because you want me to grow emotionally.
- 16:55Speaker 2: No.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I'm not going there to grow as a person. I'm
- 16:59Speaker 1: going there to shake my ass to Pitbull.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Going in Miami. Yeah. I mean, it's like there's certain
- 17:08Speaker 2: friends that you get on that level with. is this
- 17:11Speaker 2: that friend that you could? Like where the conversation could
- 17:13Speaker 2: actually be like really, because maybe I feel like the
- 17:17Speaker 2: ease in question is like a softball. It's like, how
- 17:20Speaker 2: have I been a really good friend for you lately?
- 17:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 2: And then you start to hear a couple of the positives.
- 17:23Speaker 2: You're like, okay, that makes me feel good. And if
- 17:25Speaker 2: the conversation goes deeper, it's like, what kind of friend
- 17:27Speaker 2: am I? And then if you wanted to go to
- 17:30Speaker 2: the next level, it's like, all right, where could I
- 17:32Speaker 2: improve as being a friend?
- 17:34Speaker 1: I do think with this friend, it would be safe
- 17:35Speaker 1: because we have been friends for such a long time.
- 17:39Speaker 1: And we don't not have a deep relationship, but I
- 17:41Speaker 1: will say like the reason we've been able to sustain
- 17:43Speaker 1: our friendship for 11 years is because we're just good
- 17:46Speaker 1: at having a good time together. And I love that
- 17:49Speaker 1: about her. That's my favorite thing about her is that
- 17:52Speaker 1: I remember she was on a trip and I won't
- 17:53Speaker 1: say where, because I don't want anyone to, it wasn't,
- 17:55Speaker 1: I'm not going to identify. You should never know who's listening,
- 17:57Speaker 1: but she was on a trip somewhere that me and
- 17:58Speaker 1: her have been to several times. Like the nicest thing
- 18:02Speaker 1: she has ever said to me is I can never
- 18:04Speaker 1: go back there without you because I only really have
- 18:07Speaker 1: fun with you when we go. And I remember thinking
- 18:09Speaker 1: that's so true. I feel the exact same way because
- 18:12Speaker 1: when we hang out, we just like to do the
- 18:14Speaker 1: same things together. We like to talk shit, dance and
- 18:17Speaker 1: have margaritas. Like that's our, that like we have the
- 18:20Speaker 1: most fun together. We have the same taste in music.
- 18:22Speaker 1: We know the same people. We just have good times.
- 18:26Speaker 1: And so I think when I ask her what kind
- 18:28Speaker 1: of friend am I, she'll probably say that. Yeah. Maybe loyalty.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I don't know. But we'll see.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, because there are some friends that
- 18:35Speaker 2: you should just be able to escape with.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:37Speaker 2: And it doesn't need to go to that level. But
- 18:38Speaker 2: there's also, and I mean, I'm sure we've all had
- 18:41Speaker 2: that relationship too, but it's like there's some friends that
- 18:44Speaker 2: it feels like every other thing is a problem. Yeah.
- 18:47Speaker 2: It's like, okay, we don't need drama. Why is there
- 18:49Speaker 2: always drama? But it happens to be one friend. Yeah.
- 18:52Speaker 1: And so I think that's why me and her just
- 18:54Speaker 1: like really like each other is we just, we're not
- 18:56Speaker 1: big drama people. Like I don't want to. start a
- 18:58Speaker 1: big fight with anybody I just don't care that much
- 19:00Speaker 1: like I'm here I'm here to giggle I'm here to
- 19:02Speaker 1: dance I'm here to have a good time and if
- 19:04Speaker 1: you're gonna be weird if you're gonna like bring up
- 19:06Speaker 1: your ex-boyfriend and start crying like we don't and maybe
- 19:09Speaker 1: we're both emotionally unavailable but like and that's why we
- 19:12Speaker 1: get along is we're both just like we just don't
- 19:14Speaker 1: give that big of a shit about things um but
- 19:17Speaker 1: yeah so that all came up because me and my
- 19:19Speaker 1: therapist were talking about my history with friendships and I
- 19:22Speaker 1: said you know I will say it has been harder
- 19:23Speaker 1: for me to make friends since leaving religion um Because
- 19:27Speaker 1: all of my very close friends were found in the
- 19:29Speaker 1: church because I feel like that's a breeding ground for
- 19:32Speaker 1: deep relationships and talking about life and spirituality. And ever
- 19:36Speaker 1: since leaving the church, it's kind of like, where do
- 19:38Speaker 1: you find people that you resonate with on like a
- 19:41Speaker 1: deep level? And it's just more difficult when you don't
- 19:43Speaker 1: have like that pot to choose from.
- 19:45Speaker 2: That's a good perspective because it is like I could
- 19:47Speaker 2: see in religious settings are just like those. places that
- 19:51Speaker 2: get you close quick. It's like you're going to talk
- 19:53Speaker 2: about some deep stuff on like hour three. Yeah we're
- 19:57Speaker 2: going to play a little basketball in the beginning and
- 19:58Speaker 2: have a sermon but then it's like okay well tell
- 20:00Speaker 2: me about your deepest darkest traumas and we're going to
- 20:02Speaker 2: talk about it together under whatever name religion.
- 20:05Speaker 1: You get very close when you start talking about eternity
- 20:07Speaker 1: with people but it's harder for me because I think
- 20:09Speaker 1: I just have too much of a complicated relationship with
- 20:11Speaker 1: faith that I'm like, I don't think I can just
- 20:13Speaker 1: go to a church environment and have that be a
- 20:15Speaker 1: healthy thing for me.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and you should be able to find— well, let me
- 20:18Speaker 2: navigate this statement. We should be able to find that
- 20:21Speaker 2: in other places.
- 20:22Speaker 1: We should.
- 20:23Speaker 2: It just takes more time, especially as you're getting older.
- 20:25Speaker 2: And it's like, okay, I'm not going to get deep
- 20:28Speaker 2: with somebody at Run Club.
- 20:29Speaker 1: No, and maybe you will. Maybe you'll meet someone and
- 20:31Speaker 1: feel— you'll connect with them on a soul level. But
- 20:34Speaker 1: I just kind of like, I don't even know how
- 20:36Speaker 1: you facilitate those conversations until you're like deep in the
- 20:39Speaker 1: trenches with them.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Damn. That's why it also sucks. I think about this
- 20:42Speaker 2: because it is an interesting time. I have some friends
- 20:45Speaker 2: that are like really growing and we're blossoming. I also
- 20:47Speaker 2: have other friends that I'm like, dang, it feels like
- 20:49Speaker 2: this train's coming to a halt. But what sucks is
- 20:52Speaker 2: when you put so much time and energy and those
- 20:54Speaker 2: deep conversations into a relationship.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:57Speaker 2: How many times do you want to do that with somebody?
- 20:58Speaker 2: But the right person will feel right. You know, like
- 21:02Speaker 2: the right person will bring that conversation out of you
- 21:04Speaker 2: where it doesn't feel like it's forced. You're not going
- 21:05Speaker 2: to think to yourself, I need to get deep now
- 21:07Speaker 2: because this is what it's supposed to be like. No,
- 21:10Speaker 2: just casually comes up. And I think that's the part
- 21:13Speaker 2: that's kind of hard at this stage where it was
- 21:16Speaker 2: easier in certain organizations or certain rooms. So, I mean,
- 21:20Speaker 2: I think this weekend is not the time for that conversation.
- 21:23Speaker 1: No, I'm like, shut up. let me turn on Pitbull.
- 21:27Speaker 1: This is not the time home girl.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I think you're allowed to push back on your therapist.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I try. And then sometimes I'm like,
- 21:32Speaker 1: am I resisting personal growth because I'm pushing back or
- 21:35Speaker 1: am I in the right here? I don't know.
- 21:37Speaker 2: And I get where she's coming from, but of course,
- 21:39Speaker 2: you know, I think that's good. Like I remember some therapists,
- 21:43Speaker 2: I love that. In my opinion, I think they are
- 21:46Speaker 2: supposed to push you in that direction. I've had also
- 21:48Speaker 2: other therapists that are just like sat there in the
- 21:49Speaker 2: corner and just listen to me go on and on
- 21:51Speaker 2: and on. And then it's like, all right, well that's
- 21:53Speaker 2: your session. I'm like, the hell was the point of that? Yeah,
- 21:56Speaker 2: I got it off my chest, but like, I like
- 21:58Speaker 2: something to work towards. I mean, I did that in
- 22:01Speaker 2: the past with, you know, you know, friendships and relationships.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I was like, that's why I stopped going to therapy
- 22:05Speaker 2: because I was like, are you not going to push
- 22:07Speaker 2: me or challenge me to expand or grow?
- 22:10Speaker 1: You got to find a good, that's the problem is
- 22:13Speaker 1: you spend so much money trying to find a good therapist.
- 22:15Speaker 1: It's like very expensive dating. And then it's just like, okay,
- 22:18Speaker 1: how deep do I get before I know whether or
- 22:20Speaker 1: not this person's right for me? And I don't know.
- 22:23Speaker 1: I think it's just like a, You've got to find
- 22:25Speaker 1: someone who knows somebody.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah. I like the challenge, but maybe not this weekend
- 22:30Speaker 2: when you're simply just trying to escape. Yeah. How are
- 22:32Speaker 2: you getting down there? Are you just driving? Are you
- 22:33Speaker 2: taking the train? Are you flying? I'm just going to drive.
- 22:35Speaker 1: I wish taking the train was easier, but I've heard
- 22:38Speaker 1: really bad things about the Amtrak. Really?
- 22:39Speaker 2: I've heard great things.
- 22:41Speaker 1: I've heard really bad things. It's like six hours. And
- 22:43Speaker 1: so if I drive, it's only going to take like
- 22:44Speaker 1: three and a half, four. And then I can have
- 22:46Speaker 1: my car and listen to my music and not deal
- 22:47Speaker 1: with other people and have my luggage and have a
- 22:49Speaker 1: little thing.
- 22:50Speaker 2: I can just go. Yeah. Some people make it easier
- 22:52Speaker 2: than that. That's going to be a fun trip.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to it.
- 22:55Speaker 2: What are some of the shows that you've been catching
- 22:57Speaker 2: up on? Because I've talked about a little bit on
- 22:59Speaker 2: the on-air show that the podcast fan might not hear.
- 23:01Speaker 2: I just finished. What's the show? Nobody Wants This.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Oh, is season three out?
- 23:08Speaker 2: Not yet. I keep saying coming soon. I'm obsessed with
- 23:11Speaker 2: that show. I thought that show was absolutely beautifully done.
- 23:15Speaker 2: And just talking about relationships and friendships and bringing the
- 23:18Speaker 2: drama to life, but not over-dramatizing things. I thought it
- 23:22Speaker 2: was incredible. So if you haven't watched that, nobody wants to.
- 23:25Speaker 2: I think I'm the last one to ever watch that show.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I think so, yeah, because I've seen season one and two,
- 23:28Speaker 1: and so I was like, oh, is season three out already?
- 23:30Speaker 2: It's about to be out, so catch up if you
- 23:32Speaker 2: haven't watched that show. What's the show that you would
- 23:33Speaker 2: put on the radar?
- 23:35Speaker 1: I'm not watching any shows. I mean, I watched the
- 23:37Speaker 1: movie Love of Your Life, and that was really sad
- 23:39Speaker 1: and depressing. I mean, the acting was great, but I
- 23:41Speaker 1: was like, dear God, this was not what I needed
- 23:44Speaker 1: to watch.
- 23:45Speaker 2: I don't want you to spoil it because I want
- 23:47Speaker 2: to watch it, But I just wonder, because some movies,
- 23:49Speaker 2: it's like, that's the story arc. It's like, bring you down,
- 23:51Speaker 2: but then to bring you up. And are you saying
- 23:53Speaker 2: there's just, like, no bring you up?
- 23:55Speaker 1: There's really, I mean, I think they think you're bringing,
- 23:57Speaker 1: they're bringing you up, but it's not the kind of
- 24:00Speaker 1: bring you up. It's not enough of a bring you
- 24:02Speaker 1: up for you to not be, like, depressed at the end.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean?
- 24:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Like, it's just kind of like a beat down for
- 24:07Speaker 1: two hours, and then you're like, where's the light at
- 24:09Speaker 1: the end of the tunnel?
- 24:10Speaker 2: And there's none.
- 24:10Speaker 1: And there's kind of, I mean, I think they're giving,
- 24:12Speaker 1: they think they're giving you a light at the end
- 24:14Speaker 1: of the tunnel, but then you're just kind of like.
- 24:17Speaker 2: This is a single wick candle. Like it's very little dim. Yeah.
- 24:20Speaker 1: It's not necessarily like a big, big beaming flashlight. It's
- 24:23Speaker 1: just kind of like things might be okay. We'll see. Um, yeah,
- 24:27Speaker 1: for me, I like, I love storytelling and movies and
- 24:30Speaker 1: shows that show that there's purpose and pain. Like I
- 24:35Speaker 1: love to read cause it feels like a safe place
- 24:37Speaker 1: to explore really difficult emotions because you know, there's a
- 24:39Speaker 1: purpose behind everything. Like you're a bad author if you're
- 24:42Speaker 1: including details in a story and there's no payoff because
- 24:46Speaker 1: And so I don't mind exploring things like grief or
- 24:49Speaker 1: loss or really difficult emotions when there's a come up
- 24:53Speaker 1: at the end because it's like, okay, well, this was
- 24:55Speaker 1: the purpose. And so sometimes when it feels like there
- 24:57Speaker 1: was no purpose, it's just kind of like life is
- 24:59Speaker 1: horrible and real. And sometimes you just have to get
- 25:01Speaker 1: through it. It's just kind of like, okay, I can
- 25:03Speaker 1: do that in my real life. Yeah.
- 25:04Speaker 2: You're like, I get that. Like, what's the point of
- 25:06Speaker 2: telling me that? Yeah.
- 25:07Speaker 1: I can do that in therapy. Like I'm going to
- 25:08Speaker 1: get that in my real life. I want to see
- 25:10Speaker 1: a perfectly packaged story to show that there's purpose in
- 25:13Speaker 1: everything or there's a satisfying reason why things happen. Yeah.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Okay. Now I get that. Like that's, I recently, the
- 25:20Speaker 2: other show, if you're down and probably saw the original
- 25:22Speaker 2: Carrie movie or read the Carrie book.
- 25:25Speaker 1: I did not. God. I'm not really big into horror.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Well, here's where I found it very interesting because it
- 25:30Speaker 2: wasn't necessarily at least the new show that's on like
- 25:33Speaker 2: Amazon Prime. It wasn't a horror movie as much as
- 25:38Speaker 2: an incredible story of what so many of us have
- 25:41Speaker 2: gone through in school of either being the one that
- 25:44Speaker 2: was bullied or experiencing bullying or watching somebody be bullied.
- 25:48Speaker 2: And what they did is like I remember my parents
- 25:50Speaker 2: telling me about the story of Carrie. And I just
- 25:52Speaker 2: remember like the prom scene. Everyone talks about the prom scene.
- 25:55Speaker 2: But what led up to that moment and to be
- 25:57Speaker 2: able to see it through so many different students eyes
- 26:01Speaker 2: of this is what's happening, you know, not just when
- 26:03Speaker 2: we went to school, but in schools right now, you know,
- 26:06Speaker 2: and they bring it to modern day where it's like
- 26:08Speaker 2: kids are walking through metal detectors to go into the class.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Is that happening in real schools?
- 26:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Honestly, it should. We've gotten to the point where we
- 26:16Speaker 1: have to do that.
- 26:17Speaker 2: But that was the wildest thing to look and see,
- 26:20Speaker 2: not just on TV, but I had that same thought.
- 26:22Speaker 2: I was like, is this actually happening in Brianda who's,
- 26:24Speaker 2: worked in different schools. She's like, yeah, it's actually happening
- 26:27Speaker 2: where students walk through a metal detector simply to get
- 26:30Speaker 2: on campus. It's crazy. That alone was mind blowing. But
- 26:33Speaker 2: then to go and see they're doing the, you know,
- 26:36Speaker 2: active shooter drills and you're like, oh my God, I
- 26:40Speaker 2: never thought about it, but they show you how they
- 26:42Speaker 2: actually do it in some of these schools with the
- 26:45Speaker 2: sound effects and the actual actors going up and down
- 26:47Speaker 2: the hallways. I'm like, that's crazy. And then on top
- 26:51Speaker 2: of it, how many ways Students could be little one
- 26:55Speaker 2: another and it just brought back so many flashbacks of
- 26:58Speaker 2: like Little moments of either witnessing somebody be bullied or
- 27:02Speaker 2: being bullied myself Yeah, you know and it's I think
- 27:06Speaker 2: everyone I really thought about this I was like Every
- 27:08Speaker 2: student should watch that show even with it being scary
- 27:11Speaker 2: And there's so many other things that are like super
- 27:13Speaker 2: tough to watch Every student should watch it because it
- 27:16Speaker 2: makes you never want to treat somebody like shit again. Yeah,
- 27:18Speaker 2: I I recommend it if you have not watched Carrie.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Show it to your kids.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Get your kids on there to make sure. Because, I mean,
- 27:25Speaker 2: I've had my time where I was a dick. I've
- 27:27Speaker 2: also had my time where people treated me like shit. Yeah.
- 27:30Speaker 2: And it sucks to see. And it just makes me wonder, like,
- 27:32Speaker 2: what is it like now for kids? Because me and
- 27:34Speaker 2: a friend, Miguel, we're talking about this.
- 27:36Speaker 1: It's like.
- 27:36Speaker 2: when that used to happen to us, it would stay
- 27:39Speaker 2: at school. You weren't online all day. Yeah.
- 27:41Speaker 1: But I mean, I even remember, and I was joking,
- 27:44Speaker 1: I think I just joked with y'all in front of, um,
- 27:46Speaker 1: in our last meeting with Jenna about Yik Yak. Who
- 27:49Speaker 1: are we talking about? I mean, somebody made out, I
- 27:52Speaker 1: really kept to myself in high school. Like when I
- 27:54Speaker 1: tell you, I went to school, I ate lunch by
- 27:57Speaker 1: myself in the library. And when I went home, like
- 27:59Speaker 1: I mind minded my fucking business and I will never
- 28:01Speaker 1: forget my senior year. Somebody posted and I was a,
- 28:06Speaker 1: I was the pageant winner for my school. So they
- 28:08Speaker 1: called me Miss Creekside. They said, I don't know who
- 28:09Speaker 1: the old, I think I just crowned somebody else. I
- 28:11Speaker 1: don't know who the old Miss Creekside is, but she
- 28:13Speaker 1: seems like such a bitch. And I was like, I
- 28:16Speaker 1: don't talk to anybody at school. I go to my classes.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I eat lunch by myself in the library. And then
- 28:21Speaker 1: I go home and I mind my fucking business. And
- 28:24Speaker 1: the fact that somebody said that, I was like, I
- 28:26Speaker 1: don't do anything. I don't talk to you people.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Like what did I do to earn this title?
- 28:30Speaker 1: What did I do to earn this title? Like I
- 28:31Speaker 1: literally mind my business. I don't like, I'm not a bully.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I definitely experienced bullying. Like I just leave people alone.
- 28:39Speaker 1: What do you want from me?
- 28:40Speaker 2: It's very interesting to see what people like pull from
- 28:43Speaker 2: other people's situations and the illusion that I have to
- 28:46Speaker 2: do this all the time with myself. Just you go
- 28:48Speaker 2: around the world. And we make up these stories in
- 28:50Speaker 2: our mind of like who people are. Yeah. And what
- 28:53Speaker 2: they're about. And we have to be very careful because
- 28:55Speaker 2: the story that you might be telling yourself is not
- 28:57Speaker 2: the story that's actually true. Yeah.
- 28:58Speaker 1: And so I don't know if like there's a thing
- 29:00Speaker 1: about just being like a quiet girl who just kind
- 29:03Speaker 1: of minds your business that people think snob or like whatever.
- 29:07Speaker 1: But keep that thought to yourself. That's an inside thought, motherfuckers.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Like you don't need to pose that on Yik Yak.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 29:13Speaker 1: What an asshole thing to say. Like regardless of whether
- 29:16Speaker 1: or not you thought I was a bitch. Um, you're
- 29:18Speaker 1: a bitch for posting.
- 29:19Speaker 2: That a hundred percent. Like you are the lower human
- 29:22Speaker 2: because you have things that you haven't dealt with, but
- 29:25Speaker 2: you're now taking it on other people. And that's, that's
- 29:27Speaker 2: what like the show carry did a great job. Like
- 29:29Speaker 2: you now see, it's not just a bully being a bully.
- 29:32Speaker 2: It's like, Oh, that bully is going through some shit.
- 29:35Speaker 1: 100%.
- 29:36Speaker 2: And that's why they're acting out, which I don't know
- 29:38Speaker 2: what the solution then be. but I know this is
- 29:42Speaker 2: happening in every school that's around our area and throughout
- 29:45Speaker 2: you know the world.
- 29:46Speaker 1: So why was the part the bully and carry a
- 29:48Speaker 1: bully so again I don't this is not a spoiler
- 29:51Speaker 1: but like so one of them her dad's going through.
- 29:54Speaker 2: This horrible divorce and Parents split. Mom already found somebody new.
- 30:00Speaker 2: The dad's about to lose the house, lose the car.
- 30:03Speaker 2: So lose all the things that pretty much built this
- 30:05Speaker 2: woman up, built this girl up to have this illusion
- 30:08Speaker 2: that she has it all together. And so every time
- 30:10Speaker 2: she goes home, she's not heard. She's not listened to.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Her feelings aren't cared about. And she's watching her family
- 30:15Speaker 2: be torn apart. And somebody else is getting that love
- 30:18Speaker 2: that she once had from her mom. And so she
- 30:19Speaker 2: takes it out on the weak, innocent one. Carrie.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 30:25Speaker 2: And it's so fucked up.
- 30:27Speaker 1: That is fucked up because I'm like, why can't you
- 30:28Speaker 1: just be miserable by yourself?
- 30:30Speaker 2: I mean, interesting.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Why do you have to yell at some random chick? Like,
- 30:34Speaker 1: what is that doing for you?
- 30:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I think it's the when I
- 30:38Speaker 2: look at it, if you see and this is just
- 30:41Speaker 2: based off of the show, like somebody come in and
- 30:43Speaker 2: they're new and they're the ones that people are like
- 30:45Speaker 2: talking to or getting more attention. That was a big
- 30:47Speaker 2: part of it, too. It's like you're getting more attention
- 30:48Speaker 2: than me. And I'm not even getting attention at home.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I'm going to show the world why they shouldn't give
- 30:54Speaker 2: you attention. I'm going to make you feel like crap.
- 30:56Speaker 2: So you sit down and I could stand up and
- 30:59Speaker 2: be the queen where it's like it's a young mindset.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I get it. I just wish we could teach it
- 31:05Speaker 2: earlier that you don't have to knock somebody else down
- 31:07Speaker 2: to stand back up. I guess the craziest lesson that
- 31:11Speaker 2: takes students way too long to learn. But the show
- 31:13Speaker 2: did put it in perspective that I like, that's why
- 31:15Speaker 2: I say, I'm like, I wish high schoolers watched this.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Because a lot of that shit, you really bring to
- 31:19Speaker 2: life of like, oh, that's why they're being an asshole. Yeah.
- 31:22Speaker 2: You got some shit going back at home.
- 31:23Speaker 1: The problem is the assholes are going to watch it
- 31:24Speaker 1: and not take anything from it.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. I just, and I guess it goes
- 31:28Speaker 2: back to, we had the conversation, you know, many podcasts
- 31:31Speaker 2: ago about just guy culture in general. But like, let's
- 31:33Speaker 2: just make it human culture. Like, you see that, and like,
- 31:36Speaker 2: I don't know, just calling that out quicker.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:38Speaker 2: You know, you got a whole class, and let's say
- 31:40Speaker 2: you have one kid that's picking on another. You got
- 31:42Speaker 2: 18 other students that could be like, yo, cut it out.
- 31:44Speaker 2: And if they know that their stuff is not accepted
- 31:46Speaker 2: by the bigger group, they're not going to do it anymore.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Very true.
- 31:49Speaker 2: You know, you just automatically squish it by everyone else
- 31:52Speaker 2: not accepting it. But if everyone else is silent because
- 31:54Speaker 2: they don't want to be picked on, well, now you're
- 31:57Speaker 2: just feeding the fire. Yeah.
- 31:59Speaker 1: There's actually a comedian called Daniel Sloss. Have you seen
- 32:01Speaker 1: his big monologue about rape culture?
- 32:03Speaker 2: No, I don't think so.
- 32:04Speaker 1: So he's a comedian and he has this very iconic,
- 32:07Speaker 1: and I'm going to botch it if I try and
- 32:08Speaker 1: paraphrase it anyway, but he's a comedian. I think he's
- 32:10Speaker 1: British or something or Irish. And he just has a massive,
- 32:14Speaker 1: massive joke that went viral on YouTube or TikTok a
- 32:18Speaker 1: while ago. And it's just about how men need to
- 32:21Speaker 1: be able to stand up for women or whatever. And
- 32:24Speaker 1: he was recently a part of some kind of comedy
- 32:26Speaker 1: special where someone made a rape joke and he didn't
- 32:29Speaker 1: say anything. And people were like, even the person giving
- 32:32Speaker 1: the monologue like is still not immune to being a bystander.
- 32:35Speaker 1: People are super mad at him.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Oh, it's very, it's, I mean, we could all acknowledge
- 32:39Speaker 2: it's uncomfortable. Like when you see something and I've had
- 32:41Speaker 2: these thoughts, so I will share like when something happens,
- 32:44Speaker 2: your first thought is like, was that serious enough to
- 32:46Speaker 2: say something?
- 32:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 32:47Speaker 1: That's actually exactly what people are thinking. Is this, is
- 32:50Speaker 1: this person taking it hard enough to where they need
- 32:52Speaker 1: me to stand up for them?
- 32:53Speaker 2: I'm trying to think I've like, I've had so many
- 32:55Speaker 2: moments like that where you speak up and you say something.
- 32:58Speaker 2: And again, it's, immediately it comes back at you. I think,
- 33:02Speaker 2: and I've talked about it, like my fraternity situation where
- 33:04Speaker 2: it's like, that was a moment where I was like,
- 33:05Speaker 2: I got to say something and I got the pushback.
- 33:07Speaker 2: It was like, this is not serious enough. I was like,
- 33:09Speaker 2: to me it was. Yeah. I feel like I should
- 33:11Speaker 2: say something.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I have a moment like that too. When I was
- 33:13Speaker 1: on exec, I was, uh, I used to be house manager,
- 33:15Speaker 1: but then I was VP new member ed. And I
- 33:17Speaker 1: remember there was this girl who, I don't know why.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I think she, she's just one of those people that
- 33:22Speaker 1: people kind of just didn't gel with. And she was
- 33:24Speaker 1: asking like some very specific questions about like the cleaning
- 33:27Speaker 1: habits of our kitchen. And, um, One of the girls
- 33:31Speaker 1: on exec like didn't yell at her, but kind of
- 33:34Speaker 1: like made a joke being like, why the fuck you
- 33:36Speaker 1: keep asking these questions? And the whole room laughed. And
- 33:39Speaker 1: I remember thinking her questions are as a journalism major.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I was like, wait, these are actually valid questions. But
- 33:45Speaker 1: I never said anything. I was like, fuck, I wish
- 33:46Speaker 1: I would have said something. And she was fine. I
- 33:48Speaker 1: think I said something to her afterwards. I was like,
- 33:50Speaker 1: you're don't.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:52Speaker 1: But I felt so bad in that meeting. I was like,
- 33:54Speaker 1: I wish I would have said something. Yeah.
- 33:55Speaker 2: And it's like I think that still goes the distance
- 33:56Speaker 2: as long as you like acknowledge the person. Yeah. That helps.
- 34:00Speaker 2: But when you shut it down in public, I mean, again,
- 34:01Speaker 2: you're signing yourself up to then be the target. Yeah.
- 34:04Speaker 1: And I had leadership. I was I was on leadership.
- 34:07Speaker 1: So I really feel like I should have said something.
- 34:09Speaker 1: But I do know how that feels when it's so uncomfortable,
- 34:11Speaker 1: when it does kind of feel like, OK, am I
- 34:14Speaker 1: going to take the uncomfortable step to be on the
- 34:17Speaker 1: quote unquote losing side of the social interaction? If that
- 34:19Speaker 1: makes sense. Like, am I going to be like, I
- 34:21Speaker 1: stand with you? Because then you're like, wait, is this
- 34:23Speaker 1: a dumb question? Like, am I on the weird side
- 34:26Speaker 1: socially to think that her questions are kind of valid?
- 34:29Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean? Because there's a balance, too,
- 34:30Speaker 2: because we also know the people that, like, just always
- 34:33Speaker 2: have something to say, always have a rebuttal to it.
- 34:35Speaker 2: And you're like, okay, well, you have to pick your battles.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Not everything's a battle. You know, you're going to hear
- 34:41Speaker 2: things that are, I guess that's where it's tough. Because
- 34:43Speaker 2: some things are more serious than others. But I will say, like,
- 34:46Speaker 2: for me, I try to base it off of that
- 34:48Speaker 2: gut feeling. Like, something gets brought up or said... Or, like,
- 34:51Speaker 2: looks uncomfortable. I'm like, how's my gut feel with this?
- 34:53Speaker 2: Am I going to feel okay walking away and then
- 34:56Speaker 2: knowing if something happened? Like, I think about that all
- 34:58Speaker 2: the time. Oh, my God. A good example is, like,
- 35:01Speaker 2: seeing friends, like, drink. And then, like, at the end
- 35:04Speaker 2: of the day, like, go to drive. And you're like,
- 35:06Speaker 2: I don't.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Are they okay to drive?
- 35:08Speaker 2: I don't feel good about this. I feel like I
- 35:09Speaker 2: should say something, but I don't want to look like a.
- 35:12Speaker 1: No, I'd be taking their keys.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Hell, yeah.
- 35:14Speaker 1: I don't fuck around with that.
- 35:15Speaker 2: No, I don't either. I'm like, oh, my gosh. What
- 35:17Speaker 2: did I do? Yep. Okay. I remember the situation now.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Like New Year's, I'm having friends like thinking that they
- 35:23Speaker 2: could drive back home and I'm like, Okay, no, give
- 35:25Speaker 2: me your keys, and you're going to sleep on the couch,
- 35:27Speaker 2: and when you feel better in the morning, go ahead
- 35:29Speaker 2: and get up and leave. But right now, nah, we're good.
- 35:31Speaker 2: We're just not even going to risk it. Let's just
- 35:32Speaker 2: not even risk it. That's a good, easier example for
- 35:36Speaker 2: calling somebody out on their shit. But it's hard because
- 35:39Speaker 2: you've got to be the one that says it. You
- 35:40Speaker 2: can't be the one that's waiting for somebody else to
- 35:41Speaker 2: say it.
- 35:41Speaker 1: But it's also easier with your friends. Correct. You know
- 35:44Speaker 1: what I mean? Like if my friend, if I'm out
- 35:46Speaker 1: in Miami, and my friend Virginia's like, oh, let's go.
- 35:48Speaker 1: She's had four martinis. I'm like, no, I'm not getting
- 35:50Speaker 1: in that car with you. What the hell?
- 35:51Speaker 2: Absolutely not. Yeah. But if it's harder when it's like, yeah,
- 35:54Speaker 2: it's you in a person, but you in a group,
- 35:57Speaker 2: then that feeling comes back.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I'm just too much of a stickler like for because
- 36:00Speaker 1: I'm too much of a catastrophizer. Like when we went
- 36:05Speaker 1: to the Hard Rock Cafe, it was me, my friend
- 36:07Speaker 1: Tori and that guy she was dating. And he was
- 36:09Speaker 1: like trying to show off and be speedy. I was like,
- 36:11Speaker 1: absolutely the fuck not. This random ass man is not
- 36:15Speaker 1: about to kill me in a car crash. I'm like,
- 36:16Speaker 1: I don't care how dumb I look. This guy is
- 36:18Speaker 1: not hot enough to be doing this.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I think I remember the way you phrased it. I
- 36:21Speaker 2: was like, how embarrassing. This is how I die with you?
- 36:24Speaker 1: No, literally. I'm like, this is so embarrassing. Think about
- 36:26Speaker 1: the headline, like random hinge date kills a friend and
- 36:31Speaker 1: innocent radio host. Like, I don't even want to be here.
- 36:33Speaker 1: You're like, I didn't want to go to the hard rock.
- 36:34Speaker 1: I didn't even want to go to the hard rock.
- 36:36Speaker 1: And they only took us to the hard rock because
- 36:38Speaker 1: they thought we wanted to go to the hard rock.
- 36:39Speaker 1: I'm like, we don't want to go to the hard rock.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I wanted to go down the street to fucking meat market.
- 36:42Speaker 2: That's so interesting. And I was thinking about this. Not
- 36:45Speaker 2: that situation, but as I was planning Chicago, I'm like,
- 36:48Speaker 2: You really got to know the people that you're going with.
- 36:50Speaker 2: You know, how did they get the illusion that you
- 36:53Speaker 2: want to go to the hard rock?
- 36:54Speaker 1: I don't know. I think they thought like maybe they
- 36:55Speaker 1: would look cool gambling or we thought it'd be fun again.
- 36:57Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't want to spend money to
- 37:00Speaker 1: lose money.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely not. Absolutely not. A lot of us put
- 37:03Speaker 2: ourselves in position because we think other people want to
- 37:05Speaker 2: do it when everyone finally speaks up. We're like, wait,
- 37:08Speaker 2: nobody actually wants to be here.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Yeah, the reality is your gut is usually right. Like
- 37:12Speaker 1: if you don't want to do something, the majority of
- 37:14Speaker 1: people probably don't want to do the same thing. Like
- 37:16Speaker 1: I think the same thing when I plan trips where
- 37:18Speaker 1: I'm like, I sometimes overthink or I plan things that
- 37:21Speaker 1: I think people will want to do, but then I'm
- 37:23Speaker 1: kind of like, but do I want to do it?
- 37:24Speaker 1: Because if I don't want to do it, then other
- 37:26Speaker 1: people probably don't want to do it.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Yeah, like, why am I going to force myself to
- 37:28Speaker 2: do this?
- 37:29Speaker 1: Yeah, just because I think it's the thing that you
- 37:30Speaker 1: shouldn't do. Like, we were, I'm planning the France trip,
- 37:33Speaker 1: and I don't personally care. I mean, I might go
- 37:36Speaker 1: to Paris when we go to France next year, just
- 37:38Speaker 1: because it's been a while since I've been to Paris.
- 37:40Speaker 1: But I'm like, am I adding on Paris because I
- 37:42Speaker 1: think that's what people want to do, or do I
- 37:44Speaker 1: actually think it'll be a meaningful addition to the trip?
- 37:46Speaker 2: Yeah, like, what are you going to do once you're there?
- 37:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Because there are a lot of, like, I remember when
- 37:50Speaker 2: I went to Paris, I was like, that's it? It
- 37:53Speaker 2: kind of feels like a city.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I know.
- 37:54Speaker 2: With a big old tower in the middle.
- 37:55Speaker 1: I think I will enjoy it now that I've, like,
- 37:57Speaker 1: lived in New York and, like, I've been to Chicago
- 38:00Speaker 1: and I know how to do a city well. But
- 38:01Speaker 1: I think when I went when I was, like, maybe, like,
- 38:04Speaker 1: 17 or 18, like, you can't really enjoy Paris. You're
- 38:06Speaker 1: just kind of, like, bopping around going.
- 38:08Speaker 2: What's next?
- 38:09Speaker 1: This is Paris.
- 38:10Speaker 2: This is it. Here it is. People are kind of
- 38:12Speaker 2: annoyed that I can't speak in French. I know. Sorry, guys.
- 38:15Speaker 1: But I think now that I appreciate food and I
- 38:18Speaker 1: can drink and you can bar hop like it's sort
- 38:21Speaker 1: of like when people go to New York and expect
- 38:23Speaker 1: it to be a magical experience on vacation. I'm like,
- 38:24Speaker 1: New York is the worst city in the world to
- 38:26Speaker 1: vacation to unless you have a reason to be there.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Oh, that's a valid. I had a whole argument with
- 38:31Speaker 2: a friend. He's like, I love New York. We just
- 38:33Speaker 2: got back. We hit comedy sellers and great bars and
- 38:36Speaker 2: all these. I was like. Every time I've gone to
- 38:38Speaker 2: New York, I've always just couldn't wait to get back home.
- 38:41Speaker 1: New York is the most fabulous place when you know
- 38:43Speaker 1: how to exist in New York. It is like when
- 38:45Speaker 1: everybody says, and I stand by this, like I want
- 38:47Speaker 1: to get this tattooed on my face because I think
- 38:49Speaker 1: it is like the perfect flip on a popular saying.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Because how many people have you talked to where they're like,
- 38:54Speaker 1: I like to visit New York, but I just don't
- 38:56Speaker 1: know if I.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Could live there. Oh, my gosh. I'm sure I've been
- 38:58Speaker 2: somebody that said that.
- 38:59Speaker 1: I feel the exact opposite. I hate visiting. Well, I mean,
- 39:02Speaker 1: I don't hate visiting New York because I like going
- 39:03Speaker 1: back because I've lived there. But it is so hard
- 39:07Speaker 1: to visit New York when you've lived there. Because the
- 39:10Speaker 1: thing about New York that is so magical is living
- 39:13Speaker 1: there is magical. Like just being able to bop down
- 39:16Speaker 1: to a world-class bar on a random Thursday night is
- 39:19Speaker 1: what makes New York so fabulous. Or the ease of
- 39:22Speaker 1: meeting friends. Like anytime we have plans and I'm in
- 39:25Speaker 1: Tampa and you're in St. Pete, how annoying is it
- 39:27Speaker 1: to be like, I gotta find parking. or I gotta
- 39:30Speaker 1: take a $ 75 Uber. Like when you're in New York,
- 39:33Speaker 1: everybody's so accessible. So it is just. magic like everything
- 39:38Speaker 1: just falls together so easily.
- 39:39Speaker 2: I've heard yeah once you're there it's actually not as
- 39:42Speaker 2: bad as it seems from the outside.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Like I used to hate weekends when I lived there
- 39:45Speaker 1: like because weekends it's like oh I just saw the
- 39:47Speaker 1: tours bop around I mean I liked weekends because I
- 39:49Speaker 1: could go out to bars and stuff and that was
- 39:50Speaker 1: fun yeah um but like I loved living in New
- 39:53Speaker 1: York on a random Wednesday that was magical and you're
- 39:57Speaker 1: walking down the street and there's like a random famous
- 39:58Speaker 1: person and coffee shops is the best.
- 40:00Speaker 2: It is cool to see videos of people that are
- 40:02Speaker 2: just like, they're so used to like that kind of scene. Yeah.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Where it's like, oh yeah, there's a so-and-so again.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Harry Styles just bopping around.
- 40:09Speaker 2: You know, I've seen Harry like out on marathons and
- 40:11Speaker 2: people just run by and it's like no big deal.
- 40:12Speaker 2: It's like, oh, okay. I guess that when you see
- 40:14Speaker 2: it all the time, it's no big deal.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:16Speaker 2: And that would make this area so much better if
- 40:18Speaker 2: it was easier to say like, I have a friend
- 40:21Speaker 2: and I was supposed to get coffee with him today,
- 40:23Speaker 2: but he lives in Apollo Beach and Apollo Beach is
- 40:26Speaker 2: directly opposite of the Bay where I live. So I'm like,
- 40:28Speaker 2: That's an hour. That's an entire hour just to get
- 40:31Speaker 2: to you. And then I got to get an hour back.
- 40:33Speaker 2: And I was like, I don't have the time for that.
- 40:35Speaker 2: If things were more accessible, like, oh, there's no problem
- 40:37Speaker 2: getting to Tampa. But even as I was going over
- 40:39Speaker 2: to do, I was doing like a thing at the
- 40:41Speaker 2: Tampa Theater here on Tuesday. I got on the bridge
- 40:44Speaker 2: and there's an accident. I'm like, well, there's another 45 minutes.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I know.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 40:49Speaker 1: That's why I'm constantly a benchmark because I'm like, oh,
- 40:51Speaker 1: this is a fun thing that I can walk to
- 40:53Speaker 1: because it's just easy. I don't have to think about
- 40:55Speaker 1: getting a $ 45 Uber. To go have fun somewhere.
- 40:57Speaker 2: That's why it's so weird because it's only like a
- 40:59Speaker 2: seven-mile bridge, but that one bridge makes a massive difference
- 41:02Speaker 2: on how your experience here in the Bay is.
- 41:04Speaker 1: The bridge sucks.
- 41:05Speaker 2: The bridge sucks.
- 41:07Speaker 1: The bridge sucks, man.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Bring back the ferries, and they're bringing the drones. I
- 41:10Speaker 2: don't know. They got the little drones that can take
- 41:11Speaker 2: you from PIE and all the way to TPA.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Heck yeah, brother.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Make it easy for you. Well, anytime you listen to
- 41:17Speaker 2: the podcast, drop it in the comments. We want to
- 41:19Speaker 2: do a live show over in Atlanta, so I see
- 41:22Speaker 2: more and more of you are saying yes, we'd be
- 41:24Speaker 2: down for that. We're going to start showing those numbers.
- 41:26Speaker 2: And like we were talking about earlier, anytime you want
- 41:28Speaker 2: to comment on and be a part of the conversation,
- 41:30Speaker 2: we'll go through those comments in the next episode. Thanks, fam.
- 41:33Speaker 2: We're also on YouTube. Make sure to watch us there.
