- 1:45to Your Life, and this whole week, we're
- 1:47talking about owning your path, clarity, courage, and
- 1:52boundaries for peak living, and I think that
- 1:54can be a challenge for a lot of
- 1:57people, but it's important to embrace and understand
- 1:59that, okay?
- 2:00So, welcome, as I said, to Inspirations to
- 2:03Your Life.
- 2:03I am your host, John C.
- 2:05Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 2:11podcast host, coach.
- 2:13That's right.
- 2:15Also, a graduate student and a passionate lifelong
- 2:19learner, and pretty soon, I'm going to be,
- 2:21yes, guys, a published author.
- 2:23I'm really excited about that.
- 2:26It's important to understand, you know, why we
- 2:30want to improve, and today, I want to
- 2:32talk to you about patience and endurance.
- 2:35This is series five, show nine, and we
- 2:40are on episode number three.
- 2:43It's patience, endurance, and we can't forget about
- 2:46consistency.
- 2:46Mastering deliberate action, a steady effort, and persistent
- 2:50habits to build lasting success, focus, and personal
- 2:55power, which I think sometimes that can escape
- 2:57many, many people, all right?
- 3:02So, that's an important thing to, you know,
- 3:07to understand, all right?
- 3:08So, um, what I want to tell you
- 3:11about is patience first.
- 3:14Patience allows growth to unfold naturally.
- 3:18Don't rush your progress.
- 3:20That's important to know.
- 3:21I know a lot of people want to
- 3:22rush their progress.
- 3:23They want success in 20 minutes, and it's
- 3:26not as much fun when you can enjoy
- 3:29the process of getting there.
- 3:32Number two, endurance turns effort into results over
- 3:37time.
- 3:37Making perseverance your superpower, and I think that's
- 3:40hard for a lot of people to understand,
- 3:45and so I want to share this with
- 3:47you, and that is number three, consistency.
- 3:50Consistency compounds small actions into major wins, daily
- 3:54habits, because they all stack up.
- 3:57I think that's a very, very important thing
- 4:00to understand for people to understand, okay?
- 4:05Let's jump into number four, and that's avoiding
- 4:08forbidden shortcuts.
- 4:10Lasting impacts come from steady work, not the
- 4:14quick fixes that, you know, we want to
- 4:16just, you know, flock to because we think
- 4:19that's what we need at the moment.
- 4:21Number five, patience transforms frustration into clarity, helping
- 4:28you see solutions more clearly than, well, you
- 4:32thought actually possible, okay?
- 4:37That's important, guys.
- 4:38So, number six, endurance strengthens resilience against challenges
- 4:47that try to derail your path, and believe
- 4:51me, they might.
- 4:53Number seven, consistency builds trust in yourself and
- 4:58others.
- 5:00Reliability speaks louder than any words, and I
- 5:03think that's hard for a lot of people
- 5:04to understand, is reliability is the key.
- 5:06Number eight, small, steady steps generate momentum, each
- 5:11step moving you closer to your goals.
- 5:14Avoid distractions, guys.
- 5:15Number nine, that steel progress focuses your greatest
- 5:19asset, okay?
- 5:21Number ten, patience improves decision making, under pressure,
- 5:26keeping you calm, and of course, very strategic.
- 5:29But you can't get strategic if you're going
- 5:32to constantly be like, how do I do
- 5:34this?
- 5:35Like, where am I going?
- 5:36And I think that can be hard for
- 5:39some people, okay?
- 5:40But it's something that everyone has the power
- 5:42to do, all right?
- 5:44I think that's a very important thing for
- 5:47a lot of people, you know, to recognize,
- 5:49you know, what that's about.
- 5:51And yeah, I think that's a really important
- 5:55thing to definitely understand for everyone.
- 5:59I hope that you appreciate that.
- 6:01Number 11, endurance builds confidence in long-term
- 6:04strategy.
- 6:06Trust the process over time.
- 6:08Number 12, consistency creates momentum, accelerates results, and
- 6:14keeps you moving forward.
- 6:19I think that's one that a lot of
- 6:20people miss.
- 6:22Consistency creates a momentum, a fuel that accelerates
- 6:26our results, and keeps us not only moving
- 6:29forward, but wanting to move forward.
- 6:32And that desire really has power in all
- 6:36of us, okay?
- 6:37I think that's important to understand.
- 6:41So, let's move on to the next point,
- 6:43shall we?
- 6:43All right.
- 6:48Resist forbidden impulses that compromise your integrity.
- 6:51Number 13, discipline safeguards your path.
- 6:55Respect it, and own it.
- 6:57And when you do, your life is going
- 7:00to change.
- 7:03Your life is going to change, all right?
- 7:07Number 14, patience turns waiting into a strategic
- 7:12advantage.
- 7:14Timing matters as much as the effort that
- 7:17you put forth.
- 7:20Timing really does matter.
- 7:24Number 15, endurance converts repetitive effort into mastery,
- 7:32shaping skill through practice.
- 7:36I think that's a real important thing for
- 7:38a lot of people to understand.
- 7:39Number 16, consistency stabilizes focus and energy.
- 7:45Habits keep your day on track effortlessly.
- 7:49Now, not the ones that are autopilot, like
- 7:51getting you to be mindless.
- 7:55It's important to understand.
- 8:01I think that's a very important thing to,
- 8:05you know, definitely to understand, all right?
- 8:08Number 17, guys, always, always, always avoid forbidden
- 8:14actions that waste time.
- 8:16Protect your focus at all costs.
- 8:19Even though I know sometimes it might seem
- 8:20hard, you can do this, guys.
- 8:23You absolutely can do this, all right?
- 8:26Very, very important to understand.
- 8:30And I think that's important thing to understand,
- 8:34all right?
- 8:35Is that you have that potential, all right?
- 8:41Number 18, patience allows learning before acting.
- 8:48Helping you make smarter choices, that's important, too.
- 8:52Number 19, endurance keeps you grounded under pressure
- 8:57even when chaos surrounds you.
- 9:01Number 20, consistency shapes identity and character.
- 9:05Who you are is revealed in, well, what
- 9:08you repeat.
- 9:09What you repeat is the character that you
- 9:11build.
- 9:12And I think that's a very important thing,
- 9:15what we repeat, right?
- 9:18I think that's an important thing.
- 9:21But it scares a lot of people.
- 9:24Yeah, it scares a lot of people.
- 9:26Number 21, small, patient steps lead to long
- 9:31-term victories, even tiny efforts count.
- 9:34You might say, John, I'm only doing a
- 9:36tiny bit.
- 9:37And, you know, that's okay if we only
- 9:41do a little bit, as long as we
- 9:42keep doing that, okay?
- 9:52That's important to understand.
- 9:54The tiny effort, you know, whether it's so
- 9:58minuscule you can barely see it, or maybe
- 10:01even need an electron microscope to see it,
- 10:04it doesn't matter as long as you keep
- 10:05doing something consistently and positively towards your goal,
- 10:11you will get there, all right?
- 10:12Number 22, guys, endurance fuels confidence during uncertainty.
- 10:21Perseverance is the antidote to fear.
- 10:24It's the antidote to fear.
- 10:36It's the antidote to fear.
- 10:39Number 23, guys, consistency shapes reputation quietly, but
- 10:44powerfully.
- 10:45People notice reliable action.
- 10:47They don't notice the people that are loud
- 10:50and bragging, although that can catch people's attention,
- 10:52like if somebody yelled fire, et cetera, it
- 10:54would get their attention, but it wouldn't necessarily
- 10:58be the attention that you want, all right?
- 11:04That's a very important one to understand.
- 11:07Number 24, avoid forbidden shortcuts that compromise results.
- 11:14See, integrity is your guide.
- 11:17I know you might think, well, gee, I
- 11:19could do something else and get out of
- 11:20something, okay?
- 11:22But if you have integrity, you can move
- 11:25forward, okay?
- 11:28That's important to definitely understand, and I know
- 11:33a lot of you are saying, you know,
- 11:35this is hard for some people, right?
- 11:38I know this is hard for some people
- 11:41to get, but it's the truth, okay?
- 11:53It's the truth.
- 11:55I think truth is sometimes hard for us
- 11:57to realize, okay?
- 12:00But truth can set us free.
- 12:17I think truth gets us confused, because maybe
- 12:25we don't understand where we're going or why
- 12:28we're going a certain way, but I want
- 12:32to tell you that it's important to understand
- 12:34and to ask questions.
- 12:48Ask the questions, you'll get great answers, okay?
- 13:03And when you do that, it's like your
- 13:04life is going to change.
- 13:06I don't want to say it's going to
- 13:07change overnight, but you will be aware of
- 13:11how it's changing, okay?
- 13:15And that's an important thing to know, okay?
- 13:27That question comes up a lot, and the
- 13:33question might ask you things like, why am
- 13:36I doing this right now?
- 13:37Why am I involved?
- 13:42Okay?
- 13:42That's important to understand.
- 13:48Very important.
- 13:59And that question might throw you a certain
- 14:01way, because it might not be what you're
- 14:05expecting at the given moment, okay?
- 14:10It might not be, but I want to
- 14:15tell you that it has potential.
- 14:22It has strong, strong, strong, strong, strong potential.
- 14:29Potential that can, well, basically get you to
- 14:35see new perspectives.
- 14:37Open new doors.
- 14:40Allow you to explore what you didn't know.
- 14:51Allow you to realize that you have more
- 14:53potential than you ever thought was possible.
- 15:07Does that make sense?
- 15:12It's the truth.
- 15:17And if we understood truth for what it
- 15:20is and not what other people have, then
- 15:22maybe we would embrace it more, right?
- 15:36And maybe that's about who you think it's
- 15:39for.
- 15:40Or maybe you get lost because of something
- 15:43that is, I don't know, let's say out
- 15:50of your realm for the moment, okay?
- 16:05And I think that's a question that a
- 16:06lot of us ask.
- 16:13A question that we can ask anytime.
- 16:26And I think sometimes when we ask the
- 16:28question, we don't always know the answer.
- 16:33We don't always know the answer.
- 16:39But we can ask.
- 16:49And the question sometimes will be different depending
- 16:54on when we ask it.
- 17:06That's something interesting.
- 17:18Does that make sense?
- 17:20And if we could understand that one question,
- 17:28we could probably go to some amazing places.
- 17:33And those places might lead us to ask
- 17:37more questions and maybe give us answers or
- 17:42even more questions.
- 17:43But what it's going to do is not
- 17:45let us quit.
- 17:46It's going to allow us to basically see
- 17:49where we are, what we're doing, and why
- 17:52we are doing it.
- 17:57I think that's an appropriate thing.
- 18:03Asking questions is good.
- 18:04The questions might be something like,
- 18:14I don't know if I can do this.
- 18:18But I'm here to tell you, you can
- 18:20do it.
- 18:23You absolutely can do this.
- 18:30Sometimes we just get confused.
- 18:39Sometimes.
- 18:40Not all the time, but sometimes.
- 18:42And when that happens, it's like our body
- 18:46shuts down.
- 18:51Again, not because it wants to, but sometimes
- 18:54because it's fearful of what's next.
- 19:04And that could be something that might scare
- 19:07some people.
- 19:15Right?
- 19:17I'm just saying.
- 19:21We can ask these questions again, again, again.
- 19:28But my whole thing is, how do we
- 19:31get ourselves to believe these things?
- 19:33I think that becomes hard for a lot
- 19:38of people.
- 19:43Again, not because they want it to be
- 19:44hard, but because of maybe their position in
- 19:48life, where they are, what they're trying to
- 19:50do.
- 19:56Right?
- 20:01Maybe that's the real choice.
- 20:04Maybe the choice is that we have more
- 20:06choices than we thought we had.
- 20:18Does that make sense?
- 20:22Or maybe not.
- 20:24Maybe it's a question we ask ourselves, but
- 20:31we don't get the answer we want.
- 20:32We keep going back and re-asking.
- 20:35Not because it's wrong.
- 20:38Okay?
- 20:41But because of who we are.
- 20:46Because of our perspective in life.
- 20:54Because of our perspective.
- 20:55Our perspective allows us to understand why we're
- 21:01a certain way or why we're not a
- 21:06certain way.
- 21:10And that could sometimes be very daunting for
- 21:13a lot of people because they don't necessarily
- 21:14know why they're asking a question or where
- 21:18they are.
- 21:20And that why happens for one reason.
- 21:23You know what that is?
- 21:24It's because people get scared.
- 21:36I think that happens because people have fell
- 21:39before.
- 21:45And one person told me, John, it doesn't
- 21:49matter how many times you fall.
- 21:52What matters is how many times you get
- 21:54back up.
- 22:02How many times you get back up.
- 22:15Doesn't matter how many times you fall, but
- 22:16how many times you get back up.
- 22:18And if we understand that, then we're 99
- 22:23% there.
- 22:39That can be hard for some people to
- 22:41realize.
- 22:42Number 25, guys, patience develops resilience against setbacks.
- 22:47Being stronger with challenge and the other challenges
- 22:51that might show up in your life.
- 22:53And that's not to scare you.
- 22:55That's to say that you've got to have
- 22:56belief.
- 23:15I think that's important.
- 23:20And if we can separate these things, then
- 23:23maybe we can actually start to move forward.
- 23:27Maybe we can stop being the roadblock that
- 23:34we're causing ourselves, not somebody else.
- 23:43Number 26, guys.
- 23:46Endurance builds discipline beyond the motivation level.
- 23:51The effort carries you when inspiration fades.
- 23:58Endurance builds discipline beyond the motivation and carries
- 24:03you when inspiration fades.
- 24:07Endurance is that strong feeling that makes you
- 24:11want to keep going back and doing it.
- 24:13Even when every part of you says, oh,
- 24:14I'm tired.
- 24:16You know, maybe you're working out and you're
- 24:17like, oh, I don't want to do these
- 24:18workouts today.
- 24:20But it's the endurance factor.
- 24:22Keep doing.
- 24:23Your body's like, I got to do this.
- 24:24It feels good.
- 24:26Feels good after a workout.
- 24:29Number 27, guys.
- 24:31Consistency prevents regret from missed opportunities.
- 24:34Keep showing up daily.
- 24:38A wise mentor once told me, John, you
- 24:40know, more than 80, 85% of success
- 24:43in life is showing up.
- 24:47Now, you may not be successful the first
- 24:48time.
- 24:49But if you keep showing up, if you
- 24:50keep persisting, you will grab that opportunity.
- 24:55That's not magic.
- 24:58That's your belief.
- 24:59That's your energy.
- 25:01That's you communicating with people.
- 25:07That's pretty cool.
- 25:08So cool that I would tell you
- 25:17your potential, as gentlemen, is unlimited.
- 25:28And when I say unlimited, I mean that
- 25:31the sky is the limit, which the sky
- 25:34can go on forever and ever and ever.
- 25:40Number 28, guys.
- 25:42Avoid forbidden indulgences that drain progress.
- 25:45Energy is your most valuable currency.
- 25:48You know, this can happen with good friends.
- 25:50It can happen with lots of people.
- 25:53But the key is to recognize the pattern
- 25:55and address it.
- 26:14Does that make sense?
- 26:20I think that's something that a lot of
- 26:22people just don't get for some reason.
- 26:27And it's because people don't understand.
- 26:35They don't understand this one thing.
- 26:37And the one thing they don't get is
- 26:39that you can be whatever you want to
- 26:42be.
- 26:45You can be whatever you want to be.
- 26:48That's an important thing, guys.
- 26:52Your belief is key.
- 27:04But it has to be consistent.
- 27:08It has to be consistent again and again
- 27:10and again.
- 27:11If it's not, well, you're going to find
- 27:16yourself disappointed.
- 27:27You're going to find yourself disappointed, unfortunately.
- 27:32But it's not something you can eat.
- 27:33It's not something hard can't change.
- 27:43That's important, guys.
- 27:46And number 30, endurance and consistency make excellence
- 27:49inevitable.
- 27:51Your long-term results are unstoppable.
- 27:54Ladies and gentlemen, I'm John C.
- 27:55Morley, serial entrepreneur.

- 28:13start.
- 28:14Take care, everyone.
