- 2:14Speaker 1: if you sign up over there, let us know because
- 2:17Speaker 1: I have an idea for a bonus episode over there,
- 2:19Speaker 1: Hallmark specific weekly. This feels news to me. Maybe let's
- 2:26Speaker 1: talk Christmas on Duty with a synopsis.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Former rivals Blair and Josh must work Christmas duty together.
- 2:34Speaker 1: When a snowstorm threatens holiday deliveries to the base, they're
- 2:38Speaker 1: forced to cooperate to save Christmas despite their past conflicts.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Christmas on Duty was directed by Jake Van Wagner, marking
- 2:46Speaker 1: his seventh project as a director and his second for Hallmark.
- 2:50Speaker 1: He previously homed last year's Decked the Walls this screenway.
- 2:55Speaker 2: The screenplay was written by Alexis Sigal, a rising talent
- 2:59Speaker 2: which just two official writing credits on IMDb according to
- 3:03Speaker 2: her LinkedIn. She's also contributed to the limited series The
- 3:07Speaker 2: Beast and Me and the Fox show The Prodigal Sun.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Janelle Parrish stars as Blair. Earlier this year, she led
- 3:14Speaker 1: return to office and dazzled audiences in last year's Sugar
- 3:18Speaker 1: Plumbed and Haunted Wedding. Hallmark fans will also recognize her
- 3:21Speaker 1: from Finding Mister Christmas season two, where she appeared as
- 3:24Speaker 1: a scene partner in the very first episode, So Adorable.
- 3:27Speaker 1: On Finding Mister Christmas, quack Quack Parker Young co stars
- 3:32Speaker 1: as Josh. Christmas On Duty marks his Hallmark debut, though
- 3:36Speaker 1: audiences may recognize him from his impressive television resume including
- 3:41Speaker 1: Nine to One, One, Lone Star, A Million Little Things,
- 3:44Speaker 1: and Impostors. Peter Jacobson plays Richard. We last saw Peter
- 3:48Speaker 1: as Lacey's dad in Haul Out the Halloween. This movie
- 3:51Speaker 1: marks his one hundred ninth acting credit. Aletta Miles plays Zoe.
- 3:57Speaker 2: While new to the Hallmark family, fan recognize her from
- 4:01Speaker 2: numerous episodes of the sketch comedy series Studio C, a
- 4:05Speaker 2: show also connected to director Jake Van Wagner.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Melanie Stone appears as Amanda, a first time or to Hallmark.
- 4:12Speaker 1: She's a familiar face in the feel good movie world,
- 4:15Speaker 1: with over forty acting credits spanning Hallmark style romances and comedies.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Scott Reeves plays Cliff. Scott is both an actor and musician,
- 4:25Speaker 1: with longtime roles on General Hospital and the ABC series Nashville.
- 4:29Speaker 1: He co founded the country music duo Blue Country. Season
- 4:33Speaker 1: one winner of Finding Mister Christmas. Ezra Morland appears as Fred.
- 4:37Speaker 1: This marks Ezra's second Hallmark project, following his twenty twenty
- 4:40Speaker 1: four debut and Happy Holidays. Let's take a quick break
- 4:43Speaker 1: and come right back with our first impressions. Hey, Wendy,
- 4:54Speaker 1: what was your first impression of Christmas? On duty?
- 4:58Speaker 2: Somewhere between Saving Christmas and saving on premiums Our Heroes
- 5:03Speaker 2: reminded us what holidays are really all about.
- 5:06Speaker 1: USAA. My first impression is Christmas on Duty had the heart,
- 5:12Speaker 1: the snow, and the charm, but the story couldn't quite
- 5:14Speaker 1: pull itself together. Oh, the message, not the mess. Let's
- 5:18Speaker 1: talk about it. What did you like about this movie? Well,
- 5:22Speaker 1: to start, cute opening credits, real cute love the animated
- 5:26Speaker 1: opening credit bessive and creative. I love you graphics team,
- 5:30Speaker 1: whoever put us together. I thought that was really really cute.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I love anything that's not the same b roll with
- 5:36Speaker 1: the title card over it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I thought
- 5:40Speaker 1: Zoe and Blair had nice friend chemistry. Their relationship felt
- 5:42Speaker 1: easy and believable, and I liked Zoe as a character.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Did you fun Did you think Zoe and the dad?
- 5:51Speaker 1: I saw someone say that, but I think they're no.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Zoe was playing like in the role of daughter. Yeah yeah,
- 5:59Speaker 1: I didn't think there was romantic energy. I didn't think
- 6:02Speaker 1: so either, but I did think it was I don't know,
- 6:07Speaker 1: give the man well. I was like, give the man
- 6:08Speaker 1: a love interest, but he did just lose his wife,
- 6:10Speaker 1: so maybe it's too soon. Yeah, too soon. Did you
- 6:14Speaker 1: like Janelle Parish? I thought Janel Parish was great in
- 6:16Speaker 1: this I always liked Janelle Parrish. I actually thought she
- 6:19Speaker 1: and Perker were really good together. I think she's so
- 6:25Speaker 1: cute and fun to watch. I will say I love her.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I think she's cute, She's always watchable. I didn't think
- 6:34Speaker 2: this role gave her a ton to work with. No,
- 6:39Speaker 2: But with that said, I did love her singing at
- 6:42Speaker 2: the end. That was a surprise to me. I'm like,
- 6:44Speaker 2: have I ever seen her sing before?
- 6:46Speaker 1: Yeah, she's sang in Hunted Wedding as well, but really,
- 6:48Speaker 1: oh my god, I don't remember that at all. I
- 6:51Speaker 1: liked her singing at the end, and I liked her
- 6:52Speaker 1: just casual singing in the car. I thought that was
- 6:54Speaker 1: a real sweet moment as well. The thing I liked
- 6:59Speaker 1: probably most about this movie was I like the central
- 7:03Speaker 1: messaging in the movie. There's the idea of like ask
- 7:10Speaker 1: for help, let yourself enjoy the holidays, which is a
- 7:12Speaker 1: message I could probably use right now. Listen to our
- 7:16Speaker 1: Patreon guys. Yes, you know the idea of like Blair's
- 7:22Speaker 1: dad was trying to recapture magic, and he had a
- 7:25Speaker 1: very like pragmatic like these are the things we're going
- 7:27Speaker 1: to do to make holiday magic. I feel that too,
- 7:30Speaker 1: and I think there was a real message about like
- 7:34Speaker 1: living in the moment and finding things that are meaningful
- 7:36Speaker 1: to you, and I think that's the part of this
- 7:38Speaker 1: movie that resonated with me.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Well, I will tell you kind of along those lines,
- 7:43Speaker 2: I did. I did love the argument that non traditional
- 7:47Speaker 2: things can still be enjoyed during the holiday, just because
- 7:51Speaker 2: you all do like the cookie decorating and baking and stuff,
- 7:55Speaker 2: and that's traditional to you, even though those don't apply
- 7:58Speaker 2: to me, like my things are still fun and memorable
- 8:02Speaker 2: and meaningful as well. So I liked that, and I
- 8:06Speaker 2: think that's where I come from. It's one of the
- 8:09Speaker 2: reasons why I'm a holiday hater is because like I
- 8:11Speaker 2: don't want somebody to tell me that I need to
- 8:14Speaker 2: bait cookies to be in the holiday spirit. So I
- 8:19Speaker 2: enjoyed that. I want to circle back real quick to.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Parker.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yep, Parker Young, we talked about it recently. I'm enjoying
- 8:28Speaker 2: the fresh Faces on Hallmark.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Did it make you wanted to watch more of
- 8:31Speaker 1: his stuff? Yes? And here's why. Because I didn't think.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Like this movie was great, no Siler, and I was like,
- 8:39Speaker 2: let me see him in something.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Now. I thought he was good. I enjoyed him. I
- 8:43Speaker 1: saw a comment that he's really good and enlisted, which
- 8:45Speaker 1: is kind of a military comedy. Oh interestingly, well, he's
- 8:49Speaker 1: only in eleven episodes. I don't know how many episodes
- 8:51Speaker 1: of it there are. I don't even know where it
- 8:53Speaker 1: streams or anything. But I was like, maybe i'd maybe
- 8:55Speaker 1: I'd give that a try. I don't know. I want
- 8:59Speaker 1: to say, there's a snowing scene in this movie. Yeah,
- 9:02Speaker 1: I was like, that's real snow. They were what, Yeah, yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 1: that's not soap. I had wondered. I didn't look this up,
- 9:10Speaker 1: but I was like, was this filmed in Utah? I
- 9:12Speaker 1: don't know, let me look real quick, Okay, Christmas on
- 9:15Speaker 1: Judy was filmed in Utah, with key locations including Midway,
- 9:19Speaker 1: Herbert City, and South Salt Lake City. And it says
- 9:23Speaker 1: it was right around Easter, so definitely there could be
- 9:28Speaker 1: snow there. Oh in March yep, yeah, because I was
- 9:31Speaker 1: there the first week in April and it dumped the
- 9:33Speaker 1: snow on us. See you're right, hat, So yeah, definitely
- 9:37Speaker 1: could have been snowing. Definitely was real snow. One tiny
- 9:40Speaker 1: like I definitely felt the frustration when Josh's dad couldn't
- 9:43Speaker 1: get that. Damn gingerbread house to stick together. It was struggles, real, man,
- 9:47Speaker 1: I hate building gingerbread houses.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that was really funny. I was like in my head,
- 9:51Speaker 2: I'm like hot glue gun, dude, you know you're not
- 9:53Speaker 2: eating that thing, so just together, crumbled or bus Yeah,
- 9:57Speaker 2: I know, I know, but sometimes pretty symble come broken
- 10:00Speaker 2: and like you don't know until you open the package.
- 10:02Speaker 1: It is true. My husband loves a gingerbread house and
- 10:06Speaker 1: sometimes he'll buy them and when I'm like pre assembled, man,
- 10:09Speaker 1: pre assembled.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah, they're too hard to put together with frosts. That's
- 10:12Speaker 2: why I'm like, just get get on down to the
- 10:16Speaker 2: home depot and get some good call E four hundred
- 10:20Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Way together. Yeah. Yeah, did you like anything else? I'm sorry,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I talk wishes. Okay, I have a big list. Okay.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I thought this movie was a little bit of a snooze,
- 10:34Speaker 1: and I think I just needed they're doing something sort
- 10:39Speaker 1: of magical, right, Like they're trying to make the Christmas
- 10:43Speaker 1: Day happen for all these families that are on the base.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Give me a little bit of magic, give me a
- 10:48Speaker 2: little bit.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Of Smarkle, you know. Yeah. I there was a lot
- 10:53Speaker 1: of like a lot of talk, which I know, goes
- 10:58Speaker 1: against what we talked about recently in our review of
- 11:01Speaker 1: Angel Christmas Match, where I'm like, I don't have the
- 11:04Speaker 1: bandwidth to listen to all the talking. Show me some stuff. Well,
- 11:09Speaker 1: I think I think it depends on what the content
- 11:12Speaker 1: of the talking is that makes makes it watchable. I
- 11:15Speaker 1: just felt like the plot was very contrived mm hmm,
- 11:19Speaker 1: and that the pacing was uneven. Okay, I agree, like
- 11:27Speaker 1: the store worker who was like, yeah, man, I'm not
- 11:29Speaker 1: helping you. Give me a break. What toy store owner
- 11:32Speaker 1: is going to have members of the military on Christmas
- 11:34Speaker 1: Eve coming in trying to provide Christmas for children of
- 11:37Speaker 1: servicemen and women and being like, yeah, I'm not going
- 11:40Speaker 1: to get my hands dirty. You're on your own, no one,
- 11:43Speaker 1: no one. I know.
- 11:46Speaker 2: There were so many things that were wrong with all
- 11:49Speaker 2: of that to me. When I was like, this is
- 11:50Speaker 2: completely unbelievable that this lady would be like, you guys.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Are on your own. Yeah, And then the hijinks were
- 11:57Speaker 1: a hijink scene and all of that whole I just
- 12:00Speaker 1: was like, I hate all of this. Well, they're always
- 12:03Speaker 1: in such a rush, but they're finding time to like
- 12:06Speaker 1: sword fight and dance at the parade.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I'm like, just move, stop wasting time. That was my
- 12:11Speaker 2: other big problem. I was like, you have these two
- 12:14Speaker 2: people who have to get one hundred plus gifts from
- 12:18Speaker 2: these remote towns in whether that I did not see happening,
- 12:23Speaker 2: and deliver all those things back to these families before
- 12:27Speaker 2: Christmas Day. I'm it's impossible, yes, and you were Your
- 12:32Speaker 2: boss was like you need to be back here or
- 12:36Speaker 2: you're in big trouble.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Right, you have a time crunch. I'm giving you twenty
- 12:39Speaker 1: four hours, and they just were messing around. It was like,
- 12:42Speaker 1: can youact together? You think that boss?
- 12:44Speaker 2: Uh, my apologies, I don't understand. Like, not that I
- 12:48Speaker 2: don't understand, but I'm where the official ranks are. Yes,
- 12:52Speaker 2: wouldn't he be like, this job requires more than the
- 12:55Speaker 2: two of you. We're trying to save Christmas, including his
- 12:59Speaker 2: own like kid or grandkid or something like that, Like,
- 13:02Speaker 2: wouldn't you put more people on this job?
- 13:04Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But they were being punished, they
- 13:08Speaker 1: had to work that day, and.
- 13:09Speaker 2: So that was the other thing I hated to They're
- 13:12Speaker 2: being disciplined and what's his.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Name, Josh?
- 13:17Speaker 2: Josh is like, well, I have family plans, No, sir,
- 13:20Speaker 2: you're being disciplined, Like, yeah, no that your family plans.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Everyone has family plans on Christmas too, damn bad. Also
- 13:28Speaker 1: in terms of timing, they get back to the base
- 13:30Speaker 1: and they do like eight hundred things before they deliver
- 13:33Speaker 1: the presence. They make tea, they have a snowball fight,
- 13:36Speaker 1: they clean up after the snowball fight. The dads have
- 13:38Speaker 1: a moment. Blair and Josh have delivered the presence. Man.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yeah, this is when the timeline defies reality and it
- 13:46Speaker 2: drives me crazy.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I have only seen it. It is only recently been
- 13:51Speaker 1: really bugging me in movies because I know I've talked
- 13:54Speaker 1: about it recently. Sounds particularly egregious. Those kids are up
- 13:56Speaker 1: at five am waiting for their gifts. You got them
- 13:58Speaker 1: wait until mid afternoon? Yeah, sad give them their presence. See.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I think there's a missed opportunity here. I feel like
- 14:10Speaker 1: we could have maybe leaned more into the military families
- 14:15Speaker 1: at Christmas. Yes, like make that more of the story. Yes.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Can I share some thoughts from our Instagram? Yeah, I
- 14:25Speaker 1: think are important to read here. So, as we've talked about,
- 14:28Speaker 1: we've been putting up a first impression post on Instagram.
- 14:31Speaker 1: As these movies are airing and people are sharing their
- 14:34Speaker 1: first impressions as they watch, which we are Loving and
- 14:38Speaker 1: Christmas on Duty received some comments like this movie wants
- 14:43Speaker 1: to be silly and serious at the same time from
- 14:45Speaker 1: Christmas aficionado. But here's one that I liked. As a
- 14:50Speaker 1: member of the military community, I feel seen happy for
- 14:53Speaker 1: Hallmark to shine a positive light on service members. However,
- 14:56Speaker 1: the cringeometer for the storyline was off the charts in
- 14:59Speaker 1: this way. I love Janelle Parish and I love anything
- 15:02Speaker 1: that supports our military, but this movie was a struggle
- 15:04Speaker 1: to finish. Premise had promised, but the movie did not deliver.
- 15:07Speaker 1: So I think it's important that we appreciate a military
- 15:11Speaker 1: storyline and there's a story to be told there. I
- 15:14Speaker 1: agree that this one didn't land the plane. Yeah, didn't
- 15:17Speaker 1: get there all the way. It could have been very touching.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I cry at every TikTok video of a military homebok right,
- 15:24Speaker 1: So should it have been less less? Maybe we didn't
- 15:28Speaker 1: need to lean into the humor as much as I
- 15:31Speaker 1: love rom com Yeah, maybe we needed a little more serious,
- 15:35Speaker 1: a little more tell the real stories. I think that
- 15:38Speaker 1: two families are sacrificing during the holidays for.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Sure, for sure. Let me tell you one other thing
- 15:44Speaker 2: I hate. I hate the enemies to lover's trope. I
- 15:49Speaker 2: hate it so much. It just never never works for me.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I hate it. Aiden on Instagram said it's like Romeo
- 15:57Speaker 1: and Juliet, except they're thirty and not sixteen. Yeah. And
- 16:00Speaker 1: when you have Josh's dad talking about how Blair's dad
- 16:02Speaker 1: cost him that job, I'm like, no, he didn't. I
- 16:04Speaker 1: know he didn't right now. I know that's going to
- 16:06Speaker 1: be the misunderstanding that you have held over his head
- 16:08Speaker 1: for the past forty years. And then of course you
- 16:10Speaker 1: find it at the end that no, not only did
- 16:12Speaker 1: he not cost you the job, he wanted you to
- 16:14Speaker 1: have the job. Everyone else hated you.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Right, You've been holding this grudge all this time, right,
- 16:21Speaker 3: tell me your thoughts about I think it was at
- 16:23Speaker 3: the beginning, but when they were still in like the
- 16:25Speaker 3: boot camp stage or whatever, and she was going to
- 16:28Speaker 3: get the job that he wanted and he basically wanted
- 16:31Speaker 3: her to like step aside so he could have the job.
- 16:33Speaker 1: And I was like, oh bad. Yes, well that's like the.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Tone for me where I was like I automatically hated him.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Yeah, like, oh, now you're going to compete with me,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and so now we can't be friends anymore. Right, It's
- 16:45Speaker 1: sorry that you both want the same job and she's
- 16:47Speaker 1: going to get it over you. And then when he
- 16:48Speaker 1: shows up at the holiday party and now they're working
- 16:51Speaker 1: on the same base and he winks at her, I
- 16:52Speaker 1: was like it, Yeah, it takes a lot for me,
- 16:56Speaker 1: like now to turn me back to like, oh they
- 16:58Speaker 1: have to be together, so great? No, I just wasn't there.
- 17:02Speaker 1: It was so weird because in the beginning it felt
- 17:04Speaker 1: like Zoe was hinting at like Blair maybe had a
- 17:06Speaker 1: little bit of a crush on him, because she was like, oh,
- 17:08Speaker 1: our time here is ending. What are you gonna do?
- 17:10Speaker 1: And she's like, I don't know. And then he comes
- 17:12Speaker 1: to her and it's like, oh, you're gonna go after
- 17:14Speaker 1: that same job I want, And so all of that
- 17:17Speaker 1: magic is gone from their relationship because of the way
- 17:20Speaker 1: he treated her. Yeah, I need an apology for that. Yeah,
- 17:25Speaker 1: are you ready for digit se that? No, not yet? Okay,
- 17:28Speaker 1: well actually it could go and let's yeah, we can
- 17:31Speaker 1: put it in the digit see that it was in
- 17:32Speaker 1: my first impression. Let's talk about USAA.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yeah, did you hate the clunky like pride placement in.
- 17:38Speaker 1: All of this. Yes, yeah, I know, Dad, you always
- 17:42Speaker 1: told me usaa I more than once too. Yeah, they
- 17:48Speaker 1: show up to help pack the truck later on. Yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Part of me is like, you know, I I understand
- 17:55Speaker 2: that's the part of business, like how things get paid
- 18:00Speaker 2: for is sometimes with you know, product placement, brand collaboration.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I just think there might be better ways.
- 18:08Speaker 1: To do it. Look, I say this every time. If
- 18:10Speaker 1: you haven't seen Wayne's World recently, please rewatch it or
- 18:13Speaker 1: at leaks look for the product placement clip of Wayne's World,
- 18:16Speaker 1: because that when I see product placement is that's what
- 18:19Speaker 1: I envision, Like it's so blatant. I was watching Nobody
- 18:26Speaker 1: Wants This and there's an Esday Lotter product placement in that,
- 18:28Speaker 1: and they like zoom in on the Esday Latter recovery
- 18:31Speaker 1: serum and I was like, come on, I mean like,
- 18:35Speaker 1: it's hard to do it well, and if you have
- 18:38Speaker 1: examples of places that have done it well, I just
- 18:42Speaker 1: I rarely see it done well where it's not like
- 18:46Speaker 1: please notice me. It's that Wayne's World's get for me
- 18:49Speaker 1: every single time. Yeah. Yeah, one of my digitsye, that's
- 18:53Speaker 1: is that singing doll that they have to get. It's
- 18:56Speaker 1: absolutely an American girl doll. Oh I didn't look that closely,
- 19:00Speaker 1: or a bobo American girl dog. Yeah, but it had
- 19:03Speaker 1: the look target has like a bobo our generation, our generation.
- 19:09Speaker 1: That's what it is. That's what it is. My did
- 19:12Speaker 1: you see that one of them? Is?
- 19:13Speaker 2: There is a camp Pendleton mention. And the only reason
- 19:16Speaker 2: I Camp Pendleton is literally like five ten miles from
- 19:21Speaker 2: my house, and it's always so funny to me. Actually
- 19:24Speaker 2: it's further than that. It just feels closer because I
- 19:25Speaker 2: can hear it. But it's always so funny to me
- 19:27Speaker 2: when I hear it, like mentioned in movies, like that's.
- 19:30Speaker 1: My backyard sort of when they have that snowball fight. Yeah,
- 19:34Speaker 1: they throw the snowball at Josh's dad. He gets snow
- 19:38Speaker 1: straight up lodged in his ear. Oh funny. And it's
- 19:41Speaker 1: funny because in that scene it cuts back and forth
- 19:43Speaker 1: and like sometimes he has a dizzier and sometimes he doesn't. Oh,
- 19:47Speaker 1: but it's like, I'm like that that's real snow that
- 19:49Speaker 1: they threw it and it's in his yark. Now, I
- 19:51Speaker 1: bet that hurts. Must have hurt. It must have hurt.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Remember when we were at Kansas City last year and
- 19:57Speaker 2: Barbara Nevin was telling about how she got hit in
- 20:00Speaker 2: the face with a Was it a.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Fake snowball though? And then it was like all up
- 20:05Speaker 1: in our grill. Yes, am I remembering that from Leah's
- 20:09Speaker 1: Perfect Gift? Yeah? Yes. Also, this is just a minor complaint.
- 20:16Speaker 1: When I first started watching this movie, I was watching
- 20:18Speaker 1: it live on the Hallmark Channel and there were so
- 20:22Speaker 1: many on screen placements it was distracting, and so much
- 20:26Speaker 1: so that in the early scene we cut from that
- 20:29Speaker 1: first scene where they're finishing up their training to Blair
- 20:32Speaker 1: in the future in the classroom and it says something
- 20:34Speaker 1: blank years later, can't read it because there's a big
- 20:36Speaker 1: candend to Christmas logo over it. Oh maybe six years
- 20:39Speaker 1: later it said, I don't know. I watched the second
- 20:41Speaker 1: half of this movie on Hallwark Plus because I like
- 20:44Speaker 1: the commercial, free, distraction, free environment. There's a Hallmark Plus
- 20:48Speaker 1: right there, and it was a much more pleasant viewing experience. Yeah,
- 20:51Speaker 1: there's so much on screen on Hallmark Channel, and I
- 20:54Speaker 1: get it they're trying to use that time because we
- 20:56Speaker 1: were watching a Newport Christmas last night and it was
- 20:58Speaker 1: like promos, We're finding mister Christmas promos were baked with
- 21:01Speaker 1: love and it was a lot. Yeah.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Yeah, my next to do to see that they're stupid.
- 21:08Speaker 2: But Josh's mom, I think it's supposed to be his mom,
- 21:11Speaker 2: but she's a real.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Glandma, you know. Yeah, they don't really even introduce her
- 21:16Speaker 1: as his mom. I was like, is it a stepmom?
- 21:18Speaker 2: Yeah, she just like comes in, she's kind of like
- 21:21Speaker 2: she takes the review.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and then she's just around in the background
- 21:25Speaker 1: and another scene but she's like very like, yeah, I'm
- 21:28Speaker 1: a hip I'm not your Hallmark grandma totally. You know.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Let's talk Ezra.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm happy to see Ezra show up in
- 21:37Speaker 2: another Hallmark movie. Like great, I'm glad they gave him
- 21:40Speaker 2: another opportunity.
- 21:43Speaker 1: That's all I gotta say about it.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Yeah, sure is handsome. He sure is fun. Fact, my
- 21:48Speaker 2: daughter and I are watching season one of Finding Mister
- 21:52Speaker 2: Christmas because she didn't watch it. She we're currently watching
- 21:54Speaker 2: season two together as well, but now she wants to
- 21:57Speaker 2: see season one and she knew he won, and when
- 22:00Speaker 2: he came on the screen, she's like, She's like, oh,
- 22:03Speaker 2: he's the winner, right, And I was like, yeah, he
- 22:05Speaker 2: did kind of make a splash in that first episode,
- 22:07Speaker 2: and I have to go back to remember what you
- 22:09Speaker 2: said when you first saw him, you thought he.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Was going to be the winner as well. I went
- 22:12Speaker 1: back and listened to episode one, and I do say,
- 22:15Speaker 1: based on first impressions, he's my winner. You know.
- 22:17Speaker 2: It was kind of funny the festive face off challenge.
- 22:21Speaker 2: They had to do like the like a runway walk
- 22:24Speaker 2: and like a DIY Santa sweater or something like that,
- 22:27Speaker 2: and he did like the running man or he did
- 22:30Speaker 2: some sort of dance moves and I was like a
- 22:31Speaker 2: little bit embarrassed for him, second hand embarrassment.
- 22:35Speaker 1: But I mean, see the one who rollerbladed on stage.
- 22:38Speaker 1: He yep, that's him. Yeah, yeah, you really went for it.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Look at him continuing to get a homemark work you guys,
- 22:45Speaker 1: it's possible. What did you rate Christmas on Duty? Sadly?
- 22:50Speaker 1: I gave it two stars. I gave it two point
- 22:52Speaker 1: five stars. I don't even remember the kiss to give
- 22:55Speaker 1: it a Spoocho meter rating. I couldn't even give you.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I don't even know. I like their slow dance, I didn't.
- 23:00Speaker 1: I thought it was weird during the parade. I thought
- 23:03Speaker 1: that was weird timing. Why are you slow dancing during
- 23:05Speaker 1: a parade? I don't get it's no music. I mean
- 23:07Speaker 1: there's music playing on the screen, but it's not at
- 23:09Speaker 1: the parade. Thought it was weird. I liked that. I'll
- 23:12Speaker 1: give that a dance ometer. Yeah, would you get the
- 23:15Speaker 1: dance ometer? That was five stars? I thought that was
- 23:18Speaker 1: really good. Hey, thanks for listening to this episode of
