- 0:05Speaker 2: Sear it's getting on even just Toself.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Backed up Conn.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Say, I just try to talk a bunch of ship
- 0:22Speaker 4: until you start saying the thing. I never know what's
- 0:25Speaker 4: actually gonna make it.
- 0:27Speaker 3: It all makes it, haven't you noticed? It all makes it?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Call?
- 0:31Speaker 4: I don't listen to my own podcast. I'm not gonna
- 0:34Speaker 4: lie I do.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I don't listen to my own podcast and either, but
- 0:40Speaker 3: what's going on on it?
- 0:43Speaker 4: Yeah, if I'm not on it, I'll listen to it.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, people always ask me do I listen to
- 0:50Speaker 3: my own show, and the answer is no, I don't
- 0:52Speaker 3: because I was there when we did it. I know
- 0:55Speaker 3: it was. I already kind of listened to it in
- 0:59Speaker 3: a way, right, yep.
- 1:03Speaker 2: You figure out that the audio listening to it to
- 1:05Speaker 2: make sure I didn't say anything stupid.
- 1:08Speaker 5: That's kind of and then we lose the whole episode.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Hold on, I feel like there's betting odds that can
- 1:16Speaker 3: be placed now. I know this. I know this episode
- 1:18Speaker 3: is supposed to be about Blue, but Dexter just said
- 1:22Speaker 3: the one thing that I know he does every single episode.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I just listen to know if I said something. Still,
- 1:29Speaker 3: I mean so what's I mean, I know.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I say something every episode, but like.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Right, so what's the what? What is the what is
- 1:36Speaker 3: the average amount of time before when you get into
- 1:38Speaker 3: the episode before you're like shit, like I said something.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Dumb, it's about like thirty minutes.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Thirty minutes.
- 1:44Speaker 1: So that's thirty minutes, bullshit?
- 1:47Speaker 3: Thirty So is it? Is it thirty one minutes? Over under?
- 1:51Speaker 3: We're gonna start taking betting.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Odds five minutes.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Five minutes in.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I mean, I could just stay quiet this time. I'm
- 2:00Speaker 2: gonna avoid that.
- 2:01Speaker 3: It's up to you, and like, if you want to,
- 2:03Speaker 3: if you want to throw the game and throw some
- 2:05Speaker 3: odds in our favor, we're all for it. Just know
- 2:08Speaker 3: that this will be added to altered corner dot com
- 2:12Speaker 3: or gg.
- 2:13Speaker 6: Whoever gets a unique boiler work.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Still, yeah, we're gonna start betting with altered cards. How
- 2:20Speaker 3: long before Dexter says something stupid over under thirty minutes?
- 2:25Speaker 3: Mm hmm. And that way Cole Will Will Will Cole
- 2:30Speaker 3: will get all the uniques. Ever, maybe I don't know,
- 2:34Speaker 3: but what's going on? Everybody? I'm the one, the only
- 2:37Speaker 3: w oh okay, I e joined here by my normal
- 2:40Speaker 3: cast of misfits We even got Felix back this week.
- 2:42Speaker 3: But we have the guy who knows everything, mister Cole Robbie, you,
- 2:47Speaker 3: we have that that young pop Dexter.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Low Altered People.
- 2:54Speaker 3: And even Felix is back this week. How was your trip, Felix?
- 2:57Speaker 3: Where were you?
- 2:59Speaker 5: It wasn't the riff Bound Eastern Regional with Blue and Dexter.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Oh well, but like where like?
- 3:06Speaker 5: Where was it in Houston Regional? In Houston for riff.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Bound with Are you guys like officially like over? I
- 3:17Speaker 3: got all thanks? Thank you? Are you guys like officially
- 3:20Speaker 3: in rift Bound now? Or what's to doal Not really,
- 3:24Speaker 3: I'm just gonna do it casually.
- 3:26Speaker 5: I just work with I use it.
- 3:28Speaker 6: I work with universes all the time, so I might
- 3:31Speaker 6: as well just get that one in there too.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Okay, my answer is very much no. I don't really
- 3:38Speaker 2: intend to play much Riftbound after this. It's just oh,
- 3:41Speaker 2: shiny button. I can click on a link to apply
- 3:44Speaker 2: for a job because I'm unemployed and then do something.
- 3:47Speaker 5: So I did that.
- 3:49Speaker 4: I'm so glad that you guys are so invested in
- 3:51Speaker 4: this game that you got picked to a judge. It's
- 3:54Speaker 4: yea cool.
- 3:56Speaker 2: You should have just you know, used AI on your
- 4:00Speaker 2: interview form and you maybe you would have gotten picked.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Imagine how the players feel. These are the guys making
- 4:06Speaker 3: your team winning or losing decisions.
- 4:10Speaker 4: There's a there's a reason that Blue was actually at
- 4:14Speaker 4: the the better tables than.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Yes, Blue actually knew what he was doing. I didn't really.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I was in charge of deck checks, and then the
- 4:22Speaker 2: second day I was on side events, so much smaller stakes.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Did you all actually ever do deck checks?
- 4:30Speaker 2: I did probably about twenty the first day, but it
- 4:32Speaker 2: took us like the first three rounds to get it situated.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Like check like deck No this.
- 4:42Speaker 6: I did a deck check that I resulted in a
- 4:44Speaker 6: game loss, which I was pretty sad about.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Cards that resulted in game loss.
- 4:50Speaker 6: Yeah, you had forty three cards, four voice speakers.
- 4:54Speaker 5: It's it's pretty bade yikes.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Ouch, Now are these original deck checks like ducks checks?
- 4:59Speaker 3: But four we even started, or like top sixteen checks
- 5:03Speaker 3: like you're now throwing.
- 5:04Speaker 5: That was I was doing side defense, so that one
- 5:08Speaker 5: was at the start just one of the rounds. Okay,
- 5:12Speaker 5: because we did deck checks in every round.
- 5:15Speaker 4: I don't think I've ever seen one that egregious in
- 5:19Speaker 4: Altered or Star Wars, where I've been at least well, I.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Mean, it's not even their advantage if they had more
- 5:25Speaker 1: than forty. We did have someone in the main event
- 5:28Speaker 1: thirty thirty eight, which was you're trying to change.
- 5:32Speaker 5: But yeah, you did have four voice seekers.
- 5:36Speaker 1: No, I guess that's a little bit more.
- 5:38Speaker 3: What are you only only allowed three in a deck
- 5:40Speaker 3: or something or what? Yeah, I don't know much about
- 5:43Speaker 3: riffle the card that card deals damage and drugs cards.
- 5:47Speaker 3: So it's good, pretty good, sounds good. Anything that says
- 5:52Speaker 3: draw damage or do damaged drug cards usually it's pretty good.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Yep, no matter what damaging card draw, no matter of card.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Game, no matter what game you're playing. So, but this
- 6:02Speaker 3: isn't about Dexter and Felix this week for episode two
- 6:09Speaker 3: in this thing that I'm calling the Creator series and
- 6:13Speaker 3: Cole is calling dumb.
- 6:16Speaker 4: I never I never used the words dumb. I said
- 6:19Speaker 4: that you've got this just random idea out of nowhere,
- 6:22Speaker 4: that it's this thing we're doing now.
- 6:24Speaker 3: So well, I mean, why isn't it a thing we're
- 6:27Speaker 3: doing now?
- 6:28Speaker 2: I think it's cool. I like it. It's just you
- 6:32Speaker 2: just kind of came up with the idea out of
- 6:34Speaker 2: nowhere that we're gonna grab some someone from the community
- 6:37Speaker 2: each week.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Yeah, well, at least two weeks, and then we go
- 6:40Speaker 3: into hiatus for a little bit, and then we'll see
- 6:42Speaker 3: what happens in the new year.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Win's be quick coming.
- 6:47Speaker 4: So moving on to the first.
- 6:52Speaker 3: I was also waiting with dated breath. All right, first question,
- 6:59Speaker 3: we're gonna, we're gonna, we'll get into the at least
- 7:03Speaker 3: oh yeah, blues here.
- 7:04Speaker 5: Everybody got the intro blue.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Are you wearing pants for this?
- 7:09Speaker 2: Uh?
- 7:09Speaker 5: No?
- 7:09Speaker 3: Why?
- 7:12Speaker 1: Because I'm at my home.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Does it not get cold where you live?
- 7:16Speaker 1: I think it's cold, but I keep my house warm
- 7:18Speaker 1: enough and I'm I'm really really hairy.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Wow fair, I am also not wearing pants this time
- 7:25Speaker 4: for a.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Christ you non pants wear? So where where does this
- 7:30Speaker 3: come from? Where does the where does the blazer and shorts? Like,
- 7:37Speaker 3: what's what's the what's the gimmick? What's the catch? Where
- 7:40Speaker 3: does this stem from?
- 7:43Speaker 1: Are we talking about like a Dallas?
- 7:46Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 7:47Speaker 1: I've only worn the blazer what like twice? Cool?
- 7:51Speaker 4: I only remember Dallas.
- 7:53Speaker 1: We were we were we weren't for the beginning season
- 7:57Speaker 1: two a wall Stream. I remember we both got dressed up.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Oh well, I wasn't paying attention to what was on
- 8:03Speaker 4: your nether regions.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Oh I wasn't wearing shorts either. Either way, Where did
- 8:08Speaker 1: it come from the need to look amazing?
- 8:11Speaker 3: Oh and you thought that shorts and a blazer looks good?
- 8:15Speaker 1: Huh Well I got about ten more compliments than anyone
- 8:19Speaker 1: else there, So yes, thank you.
- 8:21Speaker 4: True, that's true.
- 8:22Speaker 3: That's I mean, I wasn't there, But next time, it's
- 8:27Speaker 3: always the next time.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll wait for your compliment next time.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Um sure.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Anyways, going going backward. Since the intro of this, this
- 8:37Speaker 4: episode has been chaotic, which already is very in line
- 8:41Speaker 4: with Blue normal, very normal. Who who are you?
- 8:44Speaker 3: Blue?
- 8:45Speaker 4: What do you? What do you are?
- 8:47Speaker 3: What do you think?
- 8:50Speaker 1: I got asked to be here forcibly and I was
- 8:55Speaker 1: told that if I if I didn't come, that certain
- 8:58Speaker 1: pictures would be released on the internet.
- 9:00Speaker 3: That doesn't other than that.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Other than that, I do some YouTube stuff, occasional commentary.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Actually haven't done a lot of commentary lately, but apparently
- 9:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna be doing it on this upcoming Monday on
- 9:12Speaker 1: the A Wall channel. And yeah YouTube blue ok TV hashtag.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Ed that doesn't sound like anything that mister Cole Robbie
- 9:22Speaker 3: would do col You are you throwing out threats again?
- 9:26Speaker 4: I feel like you should always give threats some blackmail
- 9:31Speaker 4: if you can.
- 9:33Speaker 3: It's fair that doesn't.
- 9:36Speaker 5: Do things for you.
- 9:37Speaker 3: It doesn't seem like your style, but all right, fair enough.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Yeah, my style is more like baseball bat. But you know,
- 9:46Speaker 4: you gotta do what you gotta do as you get older.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Anyway, it's onto the preliminary questions, the important questions of
- 9:52Speaker 3: these episode. So number two, number one, what's your favorite
- 9:56Speaker 3: kind of mountain?
- 9:56Speaker 1: De none of them?
- 10:02Speaker 5: All right, guys, we are next week?
- 10:08Speaker 4: Is why I tell you that Blue does not really
- 10:10Speaker 4: drink soda or caffeine? And after the events cast?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, fair, all right, I'll give you a pass
- 10:21Speaker 3: on that one. What's your favorite girls scout cookie?
- 10:24Speaker 5: Oh?
- 10:25Speaker 1: Actually, what's the what's the name of that one?
- 10:28Speaker 4: Here?
- 10:29Speaker 1: Hold on, let me look at it real quick, because
- 10:31Speaker 1: I think this one has like multiple names. It's definitely
- 10:35Speaker 1: not thin mints.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Okay, fair, that's a good start. Parts recently, Carmel Delight samoas.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Yeah, well apparently that's what it is. It's samoas well.
- 10:51Speaker 1: It says SAMs and Carmel Delights are the same thing.
- 10:54Speaker 3: They are the same thing. It depends on what region
- 10:56Speaker 3: you are in as to what they are called. Okay, yeah,
- 11:00Speaker 3: all right, so we're doing well here now, all right,
- 11:03Speaker 3: we're back on track. All right, and then what's your
- 11:06Speaker 3: favorite pop tart?
- 11:08Speaker 1: Oh? Well, what's the wild Berry?
- 11:13Speaker 5: Another good one?
- 11:15Speaker 3: I don't know. I feel like, yeah, we berry, Well,
- 11:17Speaker 3: let it go.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Wildberry is top is a top tier pop tart. What
- 11:25Speaker 1: let me do you like something that's like s'mores or something.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Yes, that's exactly what he likes.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Obvious answer is obvious. Have a little bit of originality.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Yeah. Anyway, I was around when smores pop tarts first
- 11:41Speaker 3: came out, so it was a good time. And there's
- 11:44Speaker 3: still the all of us were even be around. Dexter
- 11:49Speaker 3: definitely was.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Not s'mores pop tart really in the mid nineties. Uh,
- 11:58Speaker 4: let's see, wow, nineteen ninety two. That's insane. I did
- 12:02Speaker 4: not think they were that old.
- 12:03Speaker 3: They are that that young? You mean? I guess, well, yeah,
- 12:07Speaker 3: that old.
- 12:07Speaker 2: No, that's old.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Dexter was not. Dexter was not around. Bite your tongue.
- 12:13Speaker 3: That is old.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It's almost thirty years.
- 12:17Speaker 4: It's overuse me. Yes, I was born.
- 12:22Speaker 2: That was no thirty three thirty.
- 12:24Speaker 1: That was more than five minutes, right, I'm pretty sure
- 12:26Speaker 1: that was.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Let's see, twelve minutes and eight seconds is where we're
- 12:31Speaker 3: at for those For those of you who had twelve minutes,
- 12:37Speaker 3: you're out. Sorry he's a little over so alrighty well,
- 12:42Speaker 3: I guess we can continue with this. It's only twelve minutes,
- 12:45Speaker 3: so we can go on to the question. Yeah, all right,
- 12:51Speaker 3: am I starting? Is that how we're doing us? These
- 12:53Speaker 3: are like real questions. I mean, like I feel bad
- 12:55Speaker 3: for a guy trying because we didn't give him even
- 12:57Speaker 3: this much effort.
- 12:59Speaker 4: I I talked to this guy like every single day,
- 13:03Speaker 4: so I was like, what the hell do you want
- 13:05Speaker 4: to ask him? And you asked chat GBT what to
- 13:08Speaker 4: ask him?
- 13:09Speaker 1: So eleven inches?
- 13:11Speaker 3: Oh that's hard or.
- 13:15Speaker 1: That seems like an around circumference.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Oh, everyone knows that Garth is what's the worst?
- 13:24Speaker 3: Wow. I did not think that this was the show
- 13:25Speaker 3: that would take this left turn totally my other show.
- 13:29Speaker 3: But here we are still in here? All right? How
- 13:33Speaker 3: did you discover it? Altered Blue?
- 13:36Speaker 1: I discovered Altered through another TCG that was also on
- 13:45Speaker 1: Kickstarter around the same time, and uh, I was looking
- 13:49Speaker 1: at that game and then I also noticed Altered was
- 13:51Speaker 1: going on at that time as well, and I thought
- 13:55Speaker 1: it looked better because it wasn't Ai and Crypto.
- 14:00Speaker 3: That was.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the part that kind of drew me
- 14:04Speaker 1: in initially, and it reminded me of other games that
- 14:06Speaker 1: I had played before, especially the digital the digital collection aspect,
- 14:12Speaker 1: the Chaotic TCG.
- 14:17Speaker 3: That was getting another try. So they were trying Chaotic again, No, no.
- 14:21Speaker 1: No, this was this was a different The other game
- 14:24Speaker 1: was called It reminded me of Chaotic, but Chaotic is
- 14:27Speaker 1: supposedly it's supposed to get re released, but it's never
- 14:30Speaker 1: going to get released either way. The other game was
- 14:33Speaker 1: called Wonders of the First.
- 14:36Speaker 5: That's also two.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I think they were at gen Con this year
- 14:41Speaker 4: as well or the year before, and I remember seeing
- 14:44Speaker 4: their banner.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Yeah, the same people that do bo Jackson Battle Arena.
- 14:50Speaker 4: What what well? You kind of described it there, But
- 14:54Speaker 4: what what made you like actually get into Alter? That
- 14:59Speaker 4: was it's a digital aspect, that was the main thing.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it was digital collection, digital whatever. I saw that
- 15:07Speaker 1: they had the BGA thing set up as well. Prior
- 15:10Speaker 1: to that, I had been traveling a lot for work,
- 15:13Speaker 1: So the idea of going to a local store was
- 15:15Speaker 1: not always in the cards. Now it's a little bit
- 15:18Speaker 1: more in the cards because I changed jobs that allows
- 15:20Speaker 1: me to work from home more. But other than that,
- 15:25Speaker 1: being able to play a card game online, have digital cards,
- 15:28Speaker 1: and not have to worry about physical cards all the
- 15:30Speaker 1: time made things a lot easier, especially on leaving shit
- 15:34Speaker 1: all around the house because cards everywhere that aren't organized,
- 15:39Speaker 1: as Felix can attest.
- 15:40Speaker 5: To doing that right now, there you go. They got
- 15:44Speaker 5: like two boxes of rip out from packs. I sing
- 15:46Speaker 5: to organize those.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Yeah, and now you play a ton in person, have
- 15:51Speaker 4: a bunch of cards and fill up like three adventure
- 15:56Speaker 4: passes every season.
- 15:57Speaker 1: For four adventure passes yea, and not all at once.
- 16:02Speaker 1: You do them sequential, right, yes? Yeah, I mean I
- 16:06Speaker 1: don't cheat if that's what you're saying, and put them
- 16:08Speaker 1: all on the same thing. I actually do each individual event.
- 16:11Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Yeah. So which do you prefer? Do you prefer online
- 16:15Speaker 3: or in person?
- 16:18Speaker 1: I mean, I think the idea of doing in person
- 16:22Speaker 1: and like meeting new people is always fun. It's just
- 16:24Speaker 1: a matter of if you have the time to do it.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I like the option to do online because I also
- 16:28Speaker 1: can just come home and randomly play a game on BGA.
- 16:32Speaker 1: From that perspective, it's what I used to do all
- 16:34Speaker 1: the time when I was trying to just lose time
- 16:39Speaker 1: playing Heartstone or something like that. Just digital games make
- 16:43Speaker 1: it a lot easier than having to drive the ways,
- 16:46Speaker 1: because I think the majority of stores I go to
- 16:49Speaker 1: are actually close to, like twenty thirty minutes away from me,
- 16:52Speaker 1: so I still go to them, but playing digitally makes
- 16:56Speaker 1: it a lot easier. I did find out that there's
- 17:02Speaker 1: a new store nearby me, but they don't they don't
- 17:04Speaker 1: have altered Lots.
- 17:05Speaker 3: Of stores don't.
- 17:06Speaker 5: They don't have it yet.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Well no, not at all.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Lots of stars don't have altered.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Call I said, yet, they don't have it yet.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I'll just go there and set up and yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Blue Blue isn't going to just say it's not there
- 17:25Speaker 4: and give up like someone else, Like we'll we'll make
- 17:28Speaker 4: it happen. World domination, Okay, I'll trust it.
- 17:35Speaker 1: France domination, France domination, and the workerund the world I have.
- 17:39Speaker 3: I have no reason to doubt you. If you want
- 17:41Speaker 3: to come to that in Wisconsin, that'd be dope.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I'm not going to Wisconsin.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I think i'll pass.
- 17:47Speaker 3: It's cold right now. It's nine degrees outside, so all right,
- 17:52Speaker 3: you do here too. What is it right now? Forty four?
- 17:57Speaker 2: Let's seventy in Houston.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Yeah, that's seventy degrees.
- 18:01Speaker 1: It was actually pretty nice. It was pretty pretty nice
- 18:04Speaker 1: in Houston last weekend. I liked it.
- 18:06Speaker 5: Yeah, I thinks so too.
- 18:09Speaker 1: But then right now, yeah, I don't remember. I felt
- 18:14Speaker 1: like it wasn't like well, I guess we were inside
- 18:16Speaker 1: a lot and we didn't really have to worry about
- 18:17Speaker 1: it because it wasn't even that cold inside.
- 18:19Speaker 3: But yeah, this is cold to you.
- 18:26Speaker 1: What's cold? I'm sorry?
- 18:28Speaker 3: From fifty four is called to you?
- 18:31Speaker 5: No?
- 18:31Speaker 4: I was just given. I was just making you feel bad.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Well, no, this isn't even our cold season yet. January
- 18:37Speaker 3: is still around the corner where we're almost ready to
- 18:39Speaker 3: get in the negative numbers. Yeah, good time.
- 18:42Speaker 4: I'm from Utah, so I'm used to the cold still.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Are you?
- 18:48Speaker 3: Yeah? I bet you if you went cold in magic underwear,
- 18:51Speaker 3: yeah yep, alrighty. So what is your main content style
- 18:57Speaker 3: that you do over at YouTube.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Channel blue ok tv hashtag got yeah content style? The
- 19:06Speaker 1: most things that I focus on are more so competitive
- 19:11Speaker 1: oriented type of interviews. I was doing general interviews with
- 19:16Speaker 1: the community, but more often than not, I tried to
- 19:19Speaker 1: contact players that have done well in events, starting with
- 19:24Speaker 1: one of the first bigger events over in France where
- 19:27Speaker 1: there was over a thousand players, and then kind of
- 19:30Speaker 1: just proceeded forward from there, and then other than that,
- 19:33Speaker 1: I just kind of filled in weeks on occasion with
- 19:36Speaker 1: other random altered content, but probably the most known for
- 19:40Speaker 1: with competitive interviews and or recaps of events when they
- 19:46Speaker 1: do occur.
- 19:47Speaker 3: And what made you choose that? Where you saw a
- 19:50Speaker 3: hole that needed to be filled and we're like, I
- 19:52Speaker 3: could do it.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I'm always about filling holes.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I know that one was coming. I really set
- 19:57Speaker 3: that one up like a champ, didn't they.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I appreciate it.
- 20:00Speaker 3: I knew immediately after I left my lips. I'm like, fuck, we're.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Always about filling holes. But yeah, I know. It's just
- 20:10Speaker 1: a thing of people. It was always a thing on
- 20:14Speaker 1: the discord, for example, where everyone was asking results for
- 20:18Speaker 1: different events, or just asking what decklists were or wanting
- 20:24Speaker 1: to talk to people associated with those decklists to see
- 20:28Speaker 1: why they picked what they picked. You can look on
- 20:30Speaker 1: thirty nine cards and I think, yeah, thirty nine cards
- 20:33Speaker 1: was still around then, it just wasn't auto updated with
- 20:36Speaker 1: every single event all the time. Now there's multiple people
- 20:39Speaker 1: working on it. Shout out to Tom there. But other
- 20:43Speaker 1: than that, people just wanted more information, it seemed like
- 20:46Speaker 1: and it. People were starting to make spreadsheets and random
- 20:50Speaker 1: other things. I remember they did it for the Arizona
- 20:53Speaker 1: event here in the States, where no one knew what
- 20:56Speaker 1: was happening a lot. So I just felt like a
- 20:58Speaker 1: good idea to talk to the actual players that are
- 21:00Speaker 1: playing the game. Everyone always likes to hear from folks
- 21:04Speaker 1: that are actually good at the game comparatively to Cole.
- 21:10Speaker 3: I'm sorry, and me too, and you too, Yeah, anybody,
- 21:16Speaker 3: but you Dexter. Yep, what fact, Cole wants to know
- 21:20Speaker 3: what faction you're playing right now?
- 21:23Speaker 4: I don't want to know that because the answer is
- 21:26Speaker 4: not good.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's not I've been playing a lot
- 21:31Speaker 1: of Basira correct lately.
- 21:33Speaker 2: That Yeah, lots of people like Basia right now.
- 21:37Speaker 3: So hot, right now, so hot.
- 21:40Speaker 4: He's usually an artest player.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Oh okay, I mean I always have a SASM deck
- 21:46Speaker 1: when I need it kind of thing. But I've been
- 21:50Speaker 1: playing Besira most of the time if I if I see,
- 21:53Speaker 1: for example, someone is playing sigism or they're playing something
- 21:57Speaker 1: that's just okay, get over yourself. They don't play seg
- 22:00Speaker 1: as more, but most of the time playing the Sierra.
- 22:04Speaker 1: But interestingly enough, I was I think I was playing
- 22:06Speaker 1: like yesterday or the day before, and there was there
- 22:09Speaker 1: was a fun ren deck that I played up against
- 22:12Speaker 1: that beat me with a festival victory on day three,
- 22:16Speaker 1: and yeah, and there's literally nothing I could do about it.
- 22:21Speaker 1: They they played character day one. It was one of
- 22:25Speaker 1: the pelican that falls asleep or something. I forget, what
- 22:27Speaker 1: the fuck is that? Yeah, drowsy Dodo. Day two played
- 22:35Speaker 1: the festival and then day three played the Drowsy Dodo
- 22:40Speaker 1: again as well as counting Sheep and fucked me.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Wow.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Nice.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Oh they also had a moon caregiver in reserve for
- 22:52Speaker 1: the anchor, but either way, just card that anchor. Yeah,
- 22:56Speaker 1: I couldn't do anything.
- 22:58Speaker 2: That's disgusting.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Yeah it is. As soon as I saw the counting sheep,
- 23:03Speaker 1: I was like, I guess.
- 23:04Speaker 5: I'm yeah, I'm done.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Yeah, somebody somebody's got to be the R in Jesus,
- 23:13Speaker 3: and it clearly was that person.
- 23:15Speaker 1: So a fun idea I always liked counting Sheep just
- 23:19Speaker 1: haven't played Moon yet, usually the last faction that will play.
- 23:22Speaker 3: It's one of the decks that I want to build.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Cole just yells at me every time. Cole doesn't like
- 23:30Speaker 3: alternate out. Cole doesn't like alternate wing conditions.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Oh, he doesn't likening in general.
- 23:37Speaker 3: He didn't choose Muna. So you know, what can you do? Yeah?
- 23:42Speaker 3: Some some days are the hammer, some days are the nail.
- 23:46Speaker 1: It's mostly nail.
- 23:47Speaker 4: Yeah, sometimes you just like getting nailed. What can you say?
- 23:51Speaker 3: Yeah, well you do? What can you do? All right?
- 23:54Speaker 3: What's this one misconception new players have about altered that
- 23:58Speaker 3: you see all the time.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I see all the time. N FT is the common one,
- 24:06Speaker 1: but I don't get that that much anymore. That was
- 24:09Speaker 1: more like at the beginning. I think the thing that
- 24:13Speaker 1: people mentioned that they don't like a lot before even
- 24:17Speaker 1: playing the game are definitely uniques they do. They don't
- 24:22Speaker 1: like the idea of the one of one card and
- 24:24Speaker 1: just variations of the card. I don't know if they
- 24:27Speaker 1: You can explain it, but it's hard to explain without
- 24:29Speaker 1: actually showing them kind of thing, And so people just
- 24:33Speaker 1: have bad experiences with one of one cards. And they
- 24:36Speaker 1: feel like they is not a good idea, but uniques
- 24:40Speaker 1: are fun. Mike the game a little bit unique, if
- 24:42Speaker 1: you will.
- 24:43Speaker 7: And other than that, Yeah, the therapy that they have recently,
- 24:49Speaker 7: and one of the questions was what do people think
- 24:51Speaker 7: about like no uniques and stuff like that, right, Yeah,
- 24:57Speaker 7: I mean no uniques can be.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Interesting to see all the feedback from those surveys and
- 25:02Speaker 2: see what they say and do with all that information.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Yeah, no, unique can be fun. But I for Altered
- 25:08Speaker 1: itself as far as a main game type, I feel
- 25:11Speaker 1: like you have to use uniques because otherwise what's the
- 25:17Speaker 1: point of the game As far as things that make
- 25:20Speaker 1: the game completely unique. Obviously there's the advancement on the board,
- 25:26Speaker 1: but even that is still just a point system in
- 25:29Speaker 1: some capacity with two lanes. So it's really the uniques
- 25:33Speaker 1: that kind of make Altered altered and otherwise you just
- 25:37Speaker 1: have two rarities and.
- 25:39Speaker 5: At that point that becomes a thing. For sure.
- 25:43Speaker 6: There are uniques for sure as a new random component
- 25:47Speaker 6: to the game that makes it where every game is
- 25:50Speaker 6: literally different in some way.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean uniques definitely do have their own problems.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I think the idea of I mean we saw it
- 25:58Speaker 1: at worlds where pretty much everyone was sharing uniques and
- 26:01Speaker 1: the bigger group that you have the better chance that
- 26:03Speaker 1: you are to have better uniques and do well. I
- 26:08Speaker 1: know Rinku, who did end up winning, mentioned that that's
- 26:11Speaker 1: what they were the most worried about, So I mean
- 26:15Speaker 1: it can matter. I guess sometimes it doesn't always matter,
- 26:18Speaker 1: but I think that's the biggest issue that you can
- 26:20Speaker 1: get from uniques. Otherwise I do like them within the
- 26:23Speaker 1: game themselves.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Yeah, there was a post I'm pretty sure it was
- 26:28Speaker 4: Wyverne who posted it as well to our slash TCG
- 26:35Speaker 4: asking about people's thoughts with Altered, and our reply to
- 26:39Speaker 4: the top comment is picked up. Two starters at launch
- 26:43Speaker 4: learned about uniques and said games doomed haven't played since.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Like what, Yeah, I mean to be fair after the
- 26:52Speaker 2: main advertising points.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yeah, people just go with the first thing that they
- 26:56Speaker 1: see and or here I mean to be fair. While
- 26:58Speaker 1: I was while we were in Houston, I told people
- 27:01Speaker 1: I was associated with Alter. They just said said what
- 27:05Speaker 1: or they said sorry, I heard that game died.
- 27:08Speaker 3: So uh yeah, I wanted to say some of about uniques,
- 27:18Speaker 3: but I see I'm outnumbered. What did you say? I
- 27:22Speaker 3: don't know what's your take. I'm not a fan of uniques.
- 27:27Speaker 3: I don't think they bring much to the game. I
- 27:32Speaker 3: do think they, you know, like you said, like when
- 27:35Speaker 3: you get a pile of people that are able to
- 27:38Speaker 3: share unique so on and so forth, YadA YadA. And
- 27:43Speaker 3: I don't know if this was necessarily like the you know,
- 27:47Speaker 3: best laid plans in the beginning right where that was
- 27:50Speaker 3: the original, because clearly that probably wasn't the original idea
- 27:53Speaker 3: going into it. But now it's evolved into what it
- 27:56Speaker 3: is now because we're players and we're the spike. Players
- 28:03Speaker 3: are always here to break the game, right, That's kinda
- 28:05Speaker 3: that's kind of what spike players do, right, that's their job.
- 28:10Speaker 5: I just.
- 28:12Speaker 3: I don't my I mean, I understand the whole like, well,
- 28:16Speaker 3: not decking becomes a thing, well, not decking becomes a thing,
- 28:18Speaker 3: and anything, right, even an altered necking is still a thing.
- 28:21Speaker 3: So I'm one that thinks I'm not a huge fan
- 28:26Speaker 3: of the uniques. I do think it is kind of
- 28:28Speaker 3: a barrier to entry for player, for newer players, but
- 28:39Speaker 3: that's it's something I would like to see revised maybe
- 28:43Speaker 3: a little bit, especially in competitive play.
- 28:48Speaker 1: I think it's going to be fairly revised as soon
- 28:52Speaker 1: as we get Secretations, because once Beyond the Gates is gone,
- 28:59Speaker 1: I mean there are still uniques and other sets. I
- 29:01Speaker 1: feel like Skyboune has a lot of good uniques too,
- 29:04Speaker 1: but as far as a set that has brought in
- 29:07Speaker 1: or brought the most to the meta, it's got to
- 29:10Speaker 1: be Beyond the Gates, and I feel once that's gone,
- 29:13Speaker 1: uniques don't become I mean, they're still going to be
- 29:16Speaker 1: important because they're uniques, but I don't feel like it's going.
- 29:19Speaker 3: To be as the War.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:23Speaker 1: I don't know what the word is. Yeah, I don't
- 29:25Speaker 1: know what the word's going to be, but I feel
- 29:27Speaker 1: like once Beyond the Gates is gone, we'll see a
- 29:31Speaker 1: little bit more balanced towards it, and if not, the
- 29:34Speaker 1: marketplace is always available for free to spend two hundred
- 29:36Speaker 1: and fifty dollars on good uniques.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:39Speaker 4: I think people that don't play enough have have a
- 29:43Speaker 4: really warped conception of uniques in general, especially now going
- 29:48Speaker 4: into the fifth set coming out. If you just took
- 29:53Speaker 4: everything in a vacuum of Set one in two and
- 29:57Speaker 4: that's all you had, I could see a lot of complaints.
- 30:00Speaker 4: But it's become a lot more exciting. They've worked really
- 30:03Speaker 4: hard on, you know, their system for uniques. And if
- 30:08Speaker 4: I am given the choice to play with uniques or
- 30:10Speaker 4: not play with uniques, one hundred percent of the time,
- 30:14Speaker 4: I'm playing with uniques. Even if I'm going up against
- 30:18Speaker 4: someone who has, you know, five hundred dollars uniques, I
- 30:21Speaker 4: would still rather play with uniques.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I think the best way I've heard it described is
- 30:27Speaker 1: that you can play with decent uniques that don't cost
- 30:31Speaker 1: a lot of money and do well enough. It's just
- 30:36Speaker 1: once you it's it's from the level of the best
- 30:40Speaker 1: uniques provide the most consistency, or if you're going for
- 30:43Speaker 1: a super niche deck where you need to draw a
- 30:45Speaker 1: bunch of cards at dusk and knock somebody back on
- 30:50Speaker 1: the tumult like somebody that's in here watching currently, then
- 30:56Speaker 1: then yes maybe. But otherwise it's just all about consistency,
- 30:59Speaker 1: and you don't necessarily need the best ones. I feel
- 31:02Speaker 1: like you can get away with as long as you
- 31:03Speaker 1: know how to play the game well enough, you can
- 31:06Speaker 1: still do well. Because even some of the players that
- 31:10Speaker 1: did really well at Worlds didn't necessarily have the best
- 31:13Speaker 1: uniques for those specific heros.
- 31:16Speaker 5: It's just the winning uniques in it.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Are you talking about for the qualifier that one time?
- 31:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 31:27Speaker 5: Yeah, he had two uniques.
- 31:31Speaker 1: And I mean even rinkud Greenky's uniques weren't like completely broken,
- 31:36Speaker 1: and even Vittorio's uniques that they were playing with weren't
- 31:40Speaker 1: crazy either, especially posts bug fix patch. So I just
- 31:44Speaker 1: think better uniques bring more consistency, which obviously helps you
- 31:47Speaker 1: win games. But they're not always the necessity. Just get
- 31:51Speaker 1: better mostly, is what I'm saying.
- 31:56Speaker 3: All Right, Is there any card mechanic skill issue, scaling
- 31:59Speaker 3: skill gap issue? Is there any card mechanic you think
- 32:02Speaker 3: is being underrated by the community?
- 32:08Speaker 1: Card mechanic that is being underrated?
- 32:16Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I feel like the community in general does a good
- 32:21Speaker 1: job of trying to make a lot of stuff work.
- 32:25Speaker 1: What's the latest thing everyone likes to sin lately? Rush?
- 32:32Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 32:32Speaker 1: Russia. I mean people were down on Russia initially, but
- 32:36Speaker 1: if you make it, deck have good cards?
- 32:41Speaker 4: True?
- 32:42Speaker 1: Oh did you rest Dexter? Were you Russian?
- 32:45Speaker 3: I was not a hater.
- 32:46Speaker 4: I don't know why they think I was. There there
- 32:49Speaker 4: were other people that were telling.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Me that there were other people that were haters.
- 32:55Speaker 1: I mean to be fair. Its on its face, rush it.
- 33:00Speaker 1: It was it's counterintuitive to everything we've been playing altered
- 33:03Speaker 1: meta wise for a while, so it makes sense.
- 33:06Speaker 2: But I mean it's not and get information before doing anything.
- 33:10Speaker 2: But RUSSI, if it gives you a benefit in your deck,
- 33:12Speaker 2: works well around it, it works out fun.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not horrible. I don't think it's the best
- 33:18Speaker 1: thing out right now, but I mean it's it's there
- 33:23Speaker 1: underrated though, Yeah, I don't think there's anything particularly underrated
- 33:30Speaker 1: as far as mechanics. I'm I'm a sabotage fan, but
- 33:34Speaker 1: I honestly think sabotages can be pretty shitty lately.
- 33:40Speaker 4: If we're being honest, a new astro was gonna mention exhausting.
- 33:49Speaker 4: Exhausting is not under the exhausting.
- 33:52Speaker 1: It was the entire meta forst like everyone was everyone
- 34:00Speaker 1: making exhausting based decks. Like it's not underrated, you're saying
- 34:06Speaker 1: was okay, Well, either way.
- 34:08Speaker 5: I don't fit anymore.
- 34:11Speaker 4: Jack Frost has I don't still a highly played card.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Yeah, well, and there's a lot of there's a lot
- 34:18Speaker 1: of counter to it in general, where sometimes people just
- 34:22Speaker 1: want exhausted cards in their deck or just resupplying as
- 34:25Speaker 1: a whole. There's a lot of cards now that let
- 34:27Speaker 1: your opponent resupply, which is not always the best. But yeah,
- 34:32Speaker 1: I don't anything that's been used. I'm trying to think
- 34:36Speaker 1: of something that was never used consistently as far as
- 34:39Speaker 1: a gay mechanic, and the only thing that I'm thinking
- 34:43Speaker 1: about that. So, for example, Hooked is a really big
- 34:47Speaker 1: card that everyone likes. Right, it became a meta part
- 34:50Speaker 1: of decks as far as moving characters from side to
- 34:52Speaker 1: side and or drawing cards. But we never got Ride
- 34:57Speaker 1: the by Frost to be a big card, and it's
- 35:01Speaker 1: kind of making me sad. But you know, maybe complete
- 35:07Speaker 1: character switch off per expedition.
- 35:10Speaker 3: I don't.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I don't know what else. Oh, never mind, I just
- 35:12Speaker 1: figured out something. Okay, So the Deer, right, you can
- 35:17Speaker 1: do the single the single terrains, the use of some
- 35:23Speaker 1: of the cards, being able to move those terrains individual terrains,
- 35:28Speaker 1: being able to move those from one spot to another.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I haven't seen that a lot. I've seen people making
- 35:35Speaker 1: the Deer work, but I haven't seen Yeah, I haven't
- 35:38Speaker 1: seen them use those specifically all that much. That's the
- 35:43Speaker 1: best thing that I can think of.
- 35:45Speaker 5: So what's the most yeah, trying to use those as
- 35:47Speaker 5: the one of.
- 35:50Speaker 3: So what's the most overrated playing that's not a mechanic.
- 36:03Speaker 1: I think, like I said, I'm a sabotage lover, but
- 36:06Speaker 1: I think sabotage is kind of overrated in general.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Not always.
- 36:15Speaker 1: I think beyond the gates it was better. I think
- 36:20Speaker 1: past that it's it's gotten less and less good. The
- 36:24Speaker 1: problem with sabotage is that, yes, sometimes it's good you
- 36:28Speaker 1: prevent your opponent from using the cards in the reserve,
- 36:31Speaker 1: but the the bigger problem with sabotage is that you
- 36:37Speaker 1: don't force your opponent to lose resources as far as
- 36:41Speaker 1: manna by playing the card in the first place, then
- 36:43Speaker 1: getting rid of it, you're just getting rid of it. Well,
- 36:47Speaker 1: well they haven't used it before and.
- 36:51Speaker 5: Their resources or something else.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so sometimes it's just bad. Sometimes it can
- 36:57Speaker 1: be good, but I think it's more situational. People I'll
- 37:00Speaker 1: use or to spy to this day, and when I'm
- 37:03Speaker 1: playing artists most of the time, i'm if I'm I'm
- 37:08Speaker 1: planning on drawing a bunch of cards anyway or getting
- 37:10Speaker 1: a lot of resources, and if someone uses a three
- 37:13Speaker 1: costs or to spy early on in the game. I'm
- 37:16Speaker 1: happy because it's minimal stats and I can get around it,
- 37:21Speaker 1: and they just use a three cost card to essentially sabotage.
- 37:25Speaker 1: But I still have five or six men a left
- 37:27Speaker 1: or even four men and left on day two that
- 37:30Speaker 1: I can get around it, and that is not as
- 37:33Speaker 1: good as it once was. I still miss rare or
- 37:37Speaker 1: to spy and being able to use that, but that's
- 37:39Speaker 1: that's long gone.
- 37:41Speaker 6: Yeah, I still I still seek a lot of garrick
- 37:44Speaker 6: that have sabotage, is because I can keep reusing it,
- 37:48Speaker 6: I think.
- 37:49Speaker 1: I mean, I like sabotage in general.
- 37:52Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just easy to put your eggs in the
- 37:57Speaker 4: sabotage basket too soon. It's kind of what you're saying.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, I think it's just a thing of resources.
- 38:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:06Speaker 4: I think your point about the moving markers is really
- 38:11Speaker 4: good as well. I would think that there's probably a
- 38:16Speaker 4: good suite of uniques out there that could do it,
- 38:20Speaker 4: and I have not in any tournament seen anyone that's
- 38:24Speaker 4: kind of built in the deer deck towards that, So
- 38:30Speaker 4: maybe someone should be the first.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, I think we think, as far as
- 38:35Speaker 1: Worlds is concerned, we were a little bit too close
- 38:39Speaker 1: to see anything anything crazy different. So maybe that's the issue.
- 38:46Speaker 1: And I mean we've had tournaments since then, but nothing
- 38:48Speaker 1: that's been like super high end competitive in order for
- 38:53Speaker 1: people to want to bust something out like that.
- 38:56Speaker 4: But yeah, I think for me, what I've realized over
- 39:02Speaker 4: the last couple of weeks is the most underrated thing
- 39:04Speaker 4: overall is actually Trial by Frost. I think kids definitely. Yeah, Well,
- 39:12Speaker 4: if you hear how people talk about Trial by Frost,
- 39:14Speaker 4: you'd understand.
- 39:17Speaker 5: I think about that too.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember it is. I mean, technically, I think
- 39:24Speaker 4: it is the weakest set. I think I can agree
- 39:26Speaker 4: with that. Every time I have a conversation around the
- 39:29Speaker 4: uniques and Trial by Frost and some of the cards
- 39:33Speaker 4: and even just the theme of it, I'm like, you know,
- 39:36Speaker 4: that set actually gets a lot more hate than it deserves.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Alrighty, moving into twenty twenty six, Yeah, what's your most six? Yeah,
- 39:50Speaker 3: what is your most What are you most excited for
- 39:53Speaker 3: to see altered? And we're what's the most excited altered
- 39:56Speaker 3: thing you're excited looking forward to in twenty twenty six?
- 40:02Speaker 1: Well, we just had the OP announcement, so that's cool.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Excited about that. I think organized play and competitive stuff
- 40:11Speaker 1: drives communities to a certain extent, Altered does as far
- 40:20Speaker 1: as like casual communities, at least in the States, is
- 40:23Speaker 1: a little bit harder to come by, so being able
- 40:26Speaker 1: to have the competitive outline is nice as far as
- 40:30Speaker 1: getting people to stay interested within the game and not
- 40:36Speaker 1: disappear is ideal. Other than that, though, I am excited
- 40:42Speaker 1: with like the collectors items and the ability to give
- 40:49Speaker 1: I guess technically stuff that you're trying to pull rather
- 40:52Speaker 1: than just hope you get a good unique. Hopefully that
- 40:57Speaker 1: kind of helps out the game in general. I don't know,
- 41:01Speaker 1: We'll have to see how it turns out. I'm not
- 41:03Speaker 1: sure if it's late or it's at the right time,
- 41:07Speaker 1: but we'll see it works out. So I'm excited for that,
- 41:09Speaker 1: but mostly collectors' items, trying to find something as far
- 41:14Speaker 1: as specific pool and the organized place stuff that just
- 41:19Speaker 1: got announced. Excited for that, and it maintaining the competitive
- 41:25Speaker 1: environment within Altered and giving people something to do instead
- 41:29Speaker 1: of complain in the general chat.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Altered players do like to complain.
- 41:36Speaker 1: I think every Internet person internet person likes to complain
- 41:40Speaker 1: in general.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that's not wrong. What is something you think could
- 41:46Speaker 3: really put a spark in the States to make Altered
- 41:50Speaker 3: a main staple.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Five million dollar World Championship more money.
- 41:58Speaker 5: That's the big one.
- 42:01Speaker 1: I mean, you're telling me spark wise, is it going
- 42:03Speaker 1: to happen? Absolutely not. No, that kind of that kind
- 42:07Speaker 1: of money is not going to be involved. But if
- 42:09Speaker 1: we're talking about stuff that gets people to play a game,
- 42:14Speaker 1: prizing does get people to want to play a game.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I mean, there's nothing to it. I guarantee you if
- 42:19Speaker 1: Altered announced a five million dollar tournament and in Paris
- 42:26Speaker 1: end of the year, we'd have a large amount of
- 42:28Speaker 1: people from different games playing the game. But reasonable things.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Well, what was prizing this year for Worlds?
- 42:38Speaker 4: Was it?
- 42:38Speaker 3: There was no cash on the line, right, No, not
- 42:42Speaker 3: that I'm aware of. I wasn't credit. Yeah, so I
- 42:47Speaker 3: come from I don't know if five million dollars does it.
- 42:51Speaker 4: Oh, it does, for sure. I think it definitely does.
- 42:55Speaker 4: All you have to do is look at how people
- 42:57Speaker 4: reacted to the new prizing online tournaments. And I saw
- 43:02Speaker 4: multiple people being like, I'm actually gonna play on BGA now,
- 43:06Speaker 4: and all that is is ten random uniques for first place.
- 43:10Speaker 3: So here's here's what I'll tell you and Dexter, you
- 43:15Speaker 3: were a part of this. Key Forge was offering a
- 43:18Speaker 3: lot of money that first year they came back for prizing.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Yep, that didn't bring it, did not really increase the numbers.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Didn't push the needle at all. Yeah, but like what.
- 43:32Speaker 2: This was twenty twenty two, I think I believe maybe
- 43:35Speaker 2: twenty three.
- 43:38Speaker 3: No, I get that.
- 43:41Speaker 4: That's another thing too.
- 43:43Speaker 3: One of those two twenty twenty three, I mean Vault
- 43:47Speaker 3: Tour winners were walking away with five thousand dollars. Second
- 43:50Speaker 3: place was like three thousand, and I think top eight
- 43:53Speaker 3: was a five hundred bucks apiece, if I'm not mistakes.
- 43:58Speaker 2: First place was like twenty or something.
- 44:00Speaker 3: World's first place twelve five.
- 44:04Speaker 4: Okay, you know, you know what the problem is with
- 44:06Speaker 4: keyboards though? What's that they they announced that and put
- 44:10Speaker 4: it out and then never advertised it or marketed it
- 44:13Speaker 4: something he was.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Not advertised anywhere.
- 44:15Speaker 3: Yeah, no one.
- 44:15Speaker 1: But that's what I was about to say, Like this
- 44:17Speaker 1: for as years concerned, like I had never heard about
- 44:20Speaker 1: I mean, I've heard of key Forge, but I'd never
- 44:22Speaker 1: heard of anything crazy as far as prizing or anything
- 44:25Speaker 1: in that time period. So it sounds like a marketing issue,
- 44:29Speaker 1: not that I mean all games have marketing issues to
- 44:32Speaker 1: some capacity.
- 44:32Speaker 3: I mean it's just about marketing. I don't fifty percent
- 44:37Speaker 3: of marketing doesn't work.
- 44:39Speaker 2: This is what Christian T. Peterson says. He says, fifty
- 44:42Speaker 2: percent of marketing doesn't work, and we don't know which
- 44:45Speaker 2: half works, so we won't do any at all.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Well, hold on, last, great, hold on. That last phrase
- 44:51Speaker 3: is something the wook he added many years ago. He
- 44:56Speaker 3: just said, the problem, the problem with marketing is fifty
- 44:58Speaker 3: percent of marketing doesn't work, and we don't know which
- 45:01Speaker 3: fifty percent it is. So then I kind of said,
- 45:04Speaker 3: so we do zero. That makes sense.
- 45:08Speaker 4: Tell him to hop on a call with me and
- 45:11Speaker 4: I will tell him what fifty works.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Listen, I've been trying to get into that team's meeting
- 45:17Speaker 3: for four years now and I'm still not there.
- 45:21Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, I don't know either way. It's all
- 45:26Speaker 1: about knows.
- 45:27Speaker 3: My name and he knows what I look like, and
- 45:29Speaker 3: he avoids me like the plague. When we're in Minnesota,
- 45:34Speaker 3: you would you would think I was I was giving out,
- 45:37Speaker 3: like literally the bubonic plague if you got too close
- 45:40Speaker 3: to me. By the way he he is always at
- 45:44Speaker 3: the other end of the room of wherever I am.
- 45:47Speaker 1: I would have just guessed he I assumed that he
- 45:49Speaker 1: thinks you smell or something plague work.
- 45:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I would assume that time. Yeah, he treats me.
- 45:56Speaker 4: If you don't like the five million dollar answer, I
- 45:59Speaker 4: have another one.
- 46:00Speaker 3: No, no, I'm not saying that money doesn't work. But
- 46:04Speaker 3: like we've seen games like what was that a grand Archive?
- 46:09Speaker 3: I mean they had like one hundred thousand dollars grand
- 46:13Speaker 3: you know, grand prize and stuff like that, and they failed. Like,
- 46:16Speaker 3: I don't know if money is the answer.
- 46:19Speaker 4: No, I mean archive is still going.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Yeah, realiant, I thought it was done.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a temporary answer that can get you what
- 46:28Speaker 1: you need, and what you do after that is kind
- 46:31Speaker 1: of up to you. In my opinion, the problem with
- 46:33Speaker 1: Altered is that it doesn't have an existing ip that
- 46:37Speaker 1: people want to flop to. It has a cool idea
- 46:42Speaker 1: in the sense of using historical figures and mythology and everything,
- 46:46Speaker 1: but that only gets a certain subgroup of people that
- 46:49Speaker 1: are interested in that kind of thing. So the next
- 46:52Speaker 1: thing that you have to fall back onto is what
- 46:55Speaker 1: gets the other TCG players interested in playing a card
- 46:58Speaker 1: game other than mechanics and everything Like that if you
- 47:00Speaker 1: don't have a well known game developer from like Magic
- 47:04Speaker 1: or something doing something for you, then probably money and
- 47:09Speaker 1: that's usually what it goes.
- 47:11Speaker 3: And then what you do with the.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Initial attention afterwards is kind of up to you and
- 47:17Speaker 1: how you capitalize it. A lot of games, whether it
- 47:20Speaker 1: be in cards or gaming or whatever else, just lose
- 47:25Speaker 1: it after a year or two, right after they get
- 47:27Speaker 1: all that money invested, and it doesn't matter. So agreed there.
- 47:31Speaker 1: But if we're talking an initial surge, money, money, money, money, money,
- 47:36Speaker 1: But yeah.
- 47:38Speaker 3: Call what's your You said you had another one for me?
- 47:41Speaker 4: Yeah, So you take all of the TCGs that have
- 47:46Speaker 4: a popular IP and maybe even y fus and take
- 47:51Speaker 4: them out back and shoot them in the head. And
- 47:53Speaker 4: that's how alter grows in the US.
- 47:56Speaker 3: All right?
- 47:57Speaker 5: So yeah, podcast of.
- 48:00Speaker 3: A mass murder makes altered grow.
- 48:05Speaker 4: I'm saying murdering a card game. So it's like a
- 48:09Speaker 4: it's not like a person.
- 48:10Speaker 3: It's metaphorical or metaphorically got it.
- 48:15Speaker 4: Uh So, It's kind of like when I heard about
- 48:18Speaker 4: Universes and how they have like all this money to
- 48:21Speaker 4: buy all of these ips and everything, and they got
- 48:25Speaker 4: picked for riftbound. No offense to Felix, But I was like, now,
- 48:31Speaker 4: how do they have all this money? Like what?
- 48:33Speaker 3: And you the only one?
- 48:36Speaker 4: It's got to be I p power Like I I
- 48:39Speaker 4: went to the website. No one plays it around me,
- 48:44Speaker 4: not anywhere close, Like, what what are they doing? And
- 48:48Speaker 4: they have tons of ips?
- 48:50Speaker 3: Right, I was gonna say, well, they have ips, that's
- 48:53Speaker 3: what they're doing.
- 48:54Speaker 6: That's that's what kind of I guess that's what gets
- 48:57Speaker 6: the product moving, not the organized play something else.
- 49:01Speaker 5: Yeah, at least much to be desired, but the product
- 49:04Speaker 5: does sell. Did you see it at Walmart?
- 49:07Speaker 1: And that's that's one of the main things. If you
- 49:15Speaker 1: if you can get into retail and it's popular enough
- 49:18Speaker 1: from that aspect, that's also a thing. People just see
- 49:20Speaker 1: it randomly and want to buy it and stuff. I
- 49:25Speaker 1: still occasionally get caught looking at the Target aisle just
- 49:30Speaker 1: to see what's there kind of thing. Definitely not Pokemon cards.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Those are what.
- 49:36Speaker 5: Those are gone.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Those are always gone. But everything else just looking at
- 49:42Speaker 1: it and just always being that in cap kind of
- 49:46Speaker 1: thing of you see it and pay attention to it,
- 49:48Speaker 1: because otherwise it's the only people that know about Altered
- 49:51Speaker 1: are people that are already at your local game store
- 49:54Speaker 1: and they played it one time a year ago when
- 49:56Speaker 1: someone was doing doing a learn to play, and I
- 49:59Speaker 1: liked it, but I didn't really see a point of
- 50:01Speaker 1: sticking around kind of thing. So yeah, not to be
- 50:07Speaker 1: doom and gloom by the way, but no, it's not.
- 50:10Speaker 3: I think that's a question A lot of people ask
- 50:12Speaker 3: about smaller niche games, right, just how do we get
- 50:16Speaker 3: more interest in it from other people? How do how
- 50:19Speaker 3: do you steal a little bit of that magic community?
- 50:22Speaker 3: Maybe magic You don't want the magic community. I don't
- 50:24Speaker 3: know some of them, do you.
- 50:29Speaker 6: Magic is exploding as well with universes beyond now, like
- 50:33Speaker 6: a lot of people are angry, and you hear a.
- 50:34Speaker 5: Lot of the angry people, but the amount of product
- 50:36Speaker 5: that sells is insane.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean magic's been dying for thirty years, still
- 50:42Speaker 3: not dead, but you.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Know, people leave and they're tired of it.
- 50:48Speaker 3: I think a lot of the one person leaves and
- 50:51Speaker 3: then there's two kids to fill their spot.
- 50:55Speaker 1: No, it's just they always come back, is the problem.
- 50:57Speaker 1: It's like cocaine.
- 50:58Speaker 3: It's just.
- 51:01Speaker 1: I've had a lot of people come from magic and
- 51:03Speaker 1: then they said, oh I'm tired of magic. I need
- 51:04Speaker 1: something else. To play and then a new set comes
- 51:07Speaker 1: out and they're like, sorry, I gotta get back on it.
- 51:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:11Speaker 6: Yeah, I also commander cards that I need for my
- 51:13Speaker 6: Commander deck at they start playing again.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and then then they're gone forever. I still have
- 51:18Speaker 1: a I still have a Foil card from someone that
- 51:21Speaker 1: I got for them just because they liked it and
- 51:24Speaker 1: have never showed up since a final Fantasy set got
- 51:27Speaker 1: released from Magic.
- 51:28Speaker 3: So yeah, Magic is a weird edge case scenario that
- 51:33Speaker 3: I don't think it basically figured out yet but somehow
- 51:36Speaker 3: still doing well. All right. What kind of content you
- 51:39Speaker 3: wish more creators were making for Altered.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Probably base level content as far as UH learned to
- 51:54Speaker 1: play type of stuff, just mechanics of the game. It's
- 52:01Speaker 1: hard to say, because at some level we need something
- 52:05Speaker 1: as far as content that will get people interested to
- 52:09Speaker 1: take a look at the game, is what I'm thinking,
- 52:11Speaker 1: because I do competitive level stuff and that's not always
- 52:15Speaker 1: going to be what people are interested in. And I
- 52:18Speaker 1: know other people that do gameplay, but probably gameplay stuff.
- 52:22Speaker 1: I don't know if there's a lot of gameplay specific
- 52:25Speaker 1: items as far as what people want to make as
- 52:32Speaker 1: a whole and not just gameplay from a perspective of
- 52:34Speaker 1: I recorded myself on stream for three hours and then
- 52:37Speaker 1: I put it on YouTube, but actually edited content that
- 52:43Speaker 1: people are commenting while they're doing plays and everything like that,
- 52:47Speaker 1: and just that as a whole. I think one of
- 52:52Speaker 1: my one of like the things that I watch I
- 52:55Speaker 1: used to watch consistently as far as altered content outside
- 52:58Speaker 1: of watching my own content for thirty seconds so I
- 53:01Speaker 1: can get the view is l e O stuff where
- 53:06Speaker 1: he was consistently making new decks, explaining what he's doing,
- 53:12Speaker 1: why he's doing it, and cards and everything like that,
- 53:16Speaker 1: and it made me want to try other stuff and
- 53:20Speaker 1: be more interested from that aspect. So I think that
- 53:23Speaker 1: would be helpful in general, effort based gameplay content would
- 53:30Speaker 1: be ideal. And I don't know, I haven't seen much
- 53:33Speaker 1: of it.
- 53:36Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the answer that everyone gives is more gameplay.
- 53:42Speaker 4: And every time I'm like, I'll upload my Tuesday sessions
- 53:47Speaker 4: and then they go terrible and I'm like, there's no
- 53:51Speaker 4: reason I should upload this to YouTube. Nobody wants to
- 53:54Speaker 4: watch two hours of me losing games or something like that,
- 53:59Speaker 4: and those take so much time and effort to edit.
- 54:02Speaker 4: If you're going to do that much content.
- 54:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not easy. But I mean as far as
- 54:09Speaker 1: stuff that gets people interested and keeps them there, probably
- 54:13Speaker 1: that because it appeals to competitive folks and it compeals
- 54:18Speaker 1: appeals to the average person who just wants to play
- 54:20Speaker 1: a little bit better.
- 54:23Speaker 3: Losing content to me and I'll chop it down for you.
- 54:26Speaker 5: Call.
- 54:28Speaker 4: Look, you'll make it for your sixty hours. Do you
- 54:31Speaker 4: work a week?
- 54:33Speaker 3: Let's not talk about how often I work a week,
- 54:34Speaker 3: all right. I try to not think about it. And
- 54:37Speaker 3: it's only sixty five okay, one day, it'll be shorter
- 54:42Speaker 3: one day, all right. How has the alter community supported
- 54:47Speaker 3: you as a creator so far?
- 54:52Speaker 1: Subscribers and views, that's what meant. Yeah, other than that,
- 54:59Speaker 1: it it's a thing of just I don't know, mentioning
- 55:06Speaker 1: me in different aspects as far as saying they like
- 55:09Speaker 1: my content. Actually getting people that meet me in person
- 55:14Speaker 1: that have said that they watch stuff that I've done
- 55:17Speaker 1: is cool because I don't really expect it because it's
- 55:22Speaker 1: not like I'm making any money on it. But just
- 55:29Speaker 1: that just saying that they like the content, appreciate the content,
- 55:33Speaker 1: and actually watch the content, as far as support is concerned,
- 55:39Speaker 1: is always nice. And then obviously any mentions in the
- 55:44Speaker 1: public and or on the discord telling people to subscribe,
- 55:49Speaker 1: kind of behind all my payments to a guy, trying for.
- 55:51Speaker 3: Him to promote me, but he's com up for the kneecaps.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so I have to I have to work
- 56:01Speaker 1: on that. But yeah, just that kind of thing, people
- 56:05Speaker 1: that do that, and just I don't know, just that overall,
- 56:10Speaker 1: I think the pair of stuff, getting the package that
- 56:15Speaker 1: Cole sent over with other people that just sent things
- 56:18Speaker 1: that were nice was really cool. Just realizing there's people
- 56:21Speaker 1: out there that you may not always interact with consistently,
- 56:24Speaker 1: but they are where who you are, and they appreciate
- 56:27Speaker 1: the things that you do. You know, it's very sweet.
- 56:30Speaker 1: Appreciate it, folks.
- 56:33Speaker 3: So what's the hardest part of being an altered content creator?
- 56:39Speaker 1: We don't make thousands yet, staying hard is the problem?
- 56:43Speaker 1: Is the hardest part, staying hard, staying just I don't know.
- 56:49Speaker 1: It's not a motivation thing. It's more so just finding
- 56:55Speaker 1: the correct type of content that you think would be helpful,
- 56:59Speaker 1: that people actually want to watch kind of thing. And
- 57:04Speaker 1: not from a views perspective, but from a perspective of
- 57:09Speaker 1: My original goal with content was to try to promote
- 57:13Speaker 1: the game more in North America. Take all of the
- 57:17Speaker 1: people who are doing really well and it's popularity in
- 57:19Speaker 1: Europe and try to bring it over to North America
- 57:21Speaker 1: so people can see what they're doing and either try
- 57:24Speaker 1: to mimic it or just get them more interested in
- 57:27Speaker 1: the game. So I think the hardest part is just
- 57:29Speaker 1: finding what kind of content people actually want to watch
- 57:32Speaker 1: that'll help it spread more like the plague kind of
- 57:39Speaker 1: thing and or any other infectious disease, you know, I'm trying.
- 57:45Speaker 1: That's what I guess what I'm trying to say. Oh,
- 57:47Speaker 1: a guy trying just came up came back eight. I'm
- 57:50Speaker 1: gonna need you to post in the general chat describe
- 57:54Speaker 1: either way. But yeah, just basically what I'm trying to
- 57:57Speaker 1: say is I am trying to be the person the
- 58:03Speaker 1: trying to be the that guy in a frat in
- 58:07Speaker 1: college that's spreading venereal diseases as much as possible. I'm trying.
- 58:12Speaker 1: I'm trying to be that for Altered within North America.
- 58:15Speaker 1: But the venereal disease is the game, right and finding
- 58:20Speaker 1: finding that correct way to spread the disease is the
- 58:24Speaker 1: hard part. Well, if you guys can associate associated, yeah,
- 58:31Speaker 1: associate altered with I don't know, chlamydia or something, and
- 58:35Speaker 1: then then you'll get what I'm saying, right, So.
- 58:41Speaker 3: What I got I was I was not thinking chlymydia.
- 58:45Speaker 3: I was thinking of something else, something that can maybe
- 58:47Speaker 3: keep being cured with pelling and selling.
- 58:49Speaker 1: But you know, isn't chmydia curable?
- 58:52Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 58:55Speaker 4: It is curable, curable, but I don't know.
- 58:57Speaker 1: What what it's. It's it's specterial, right, So that's why
- 59:01Speaker 1: I wanted to say covidia and not like syphilis, because.
- 59:04Speaker 4: I think our our bad boy meter is dipping far
- 59:08Speaker 4: into the red this episode.
- 59:10Speaker 3: It's gone south in a hurry. Again, not the show
- 59:16Speaker 3: of the two shows that I do, not the show
- 59:18Speaker 3: that I thought would go there. But I mean, this
- 59:21Speaker 3: is where we live, right, So that's it's okay, you
- 59:26Speaker 3: know what it's It's fine. I don't know again, Cole,
- 59:31Speaker 3: you're the one who gave us that nickname. I don't
- 59:34Speaker 3: know how you came up with that, but you did.
- 59:40Speaker 4: There's a history of it somewhere. You can find it
- 59:43Speaker 4: either between. I mean, you probably have to listen to
- 59:46Speaker 4: both us and here's guide to his Gartha but there's
- 59:50Speaker 4: it was a bit a long time ago that just happened.
- 59:52Speaker 3: I do listen to both of well, I'm on one,
- 59:55Speaker 3: I listened to the other one. I don't remember. I
- 59:59Speaker 3: don't remember it.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: It was like it was a long time ago or more.
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it was like a year ago.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Right, No, we've barely been doing this podcast for a year, Dexter,
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: we have.
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: We talked about this before. You guys have talked about
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: this before.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: It's been over a year.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: It's like a year and a month.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: Maybe that might be true.
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: But what what's his most popular video?
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: That is my next question? What's your most what what
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: video posts are you most proud of, the most proud
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: of I'm most proud of.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, definitely definitely my reveal videos. Those are those
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: are my coup de gras as far as putting effort
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: into things and making it look cool kind of thing.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: They're not the They're popular, but they're not the most popular,
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: but they're they're they were the most fun. As far
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: as different videos that I've made, between Blue Cap and
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Mobile Armory for child by Frosts, they're both pretty fun.
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: I would actually say your Mobile Armory probably is your
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: most popular video if you're going off of views, it's
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: the mostly onngres by like ten views, but the most
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: popular by views is my last one with the World's Thing.
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I don't really truly count shorts, but that
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: is that is correct. But I was looking at it
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: because I was just interested. I was like, what video
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: technically does perform the best for both of us and
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: reveals that our long form videos are both of like
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: our most popular videos.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: What what the type of thing that got that's that
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: got a good amount of views and technically for an
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: old video still gets views. Is actually my two v
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: two video as far as metrics are concerned, I still
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: get random surges of people watching that video for some reason,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: and I'm not sure why. Maybe there's just not a
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: lot of two v two content out there. Yeah, that's
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: that's one that on occasion I'll just see it doing
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: better than even a somewhat recent video kind of thing.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: So that's that's the one that catches me by surprise.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: As far as just like a video specific one that
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: people have liked, I guess, alrighty.
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: Go ahead, you're just thinking of two B two. There
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: isn't a lot of it now that.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: I think about, there's really not. I think it is
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: something that should be focused more. And this is just me.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: I really wish Altered had a a better multiplayer format.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: I'm not a huge fan of the available one right now.
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: It's very good.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think the formats.
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: It works just fine. It's just popular.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think the formats the problem. I think
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: the problem is is that the focus is trying to
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: get the main game popular and kind of doesn't. TV
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: two doesn't do you any good if the main game
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: isn't as popular kind of thing, so.
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: You can't play TV two online.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: So well, I wonder how that goes, right, because, like
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: I mean, Magic's most popular format right now, without a
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: doubt is Commander, which is a multiplayer format. Yeah you
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: know what I mean, And a lot of people get
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: into the main game through a Commander product.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Yeah that's fair.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: I just I keep trying to find you both with
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: key Forge and Altered that equivalent. Yeah, I just haven't.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: I keep grasping at straws and just nothing's there that's
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: engaging enough. I think that would grasp a lot of people.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I think that's also from a case of there not
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: necessarily being a lot of people too. I mean, we
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: have a good amount of people within the community, but
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: not as much as Magic did when they created Commanders, right.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: And you need you need a certain amount of personalities, right, Yeah,
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: so I mean not not everyone's built to do videos
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: or podcasts or whatever the case may be. So you
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: gotta have a certain screen quality to you too, right.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: I have a face for radio, So that's why I
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: do podcasts.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: That's fair.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: That's fair. I have a face. I will not be
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: spreading any chlamydia.
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: Unless you go to a Ghostbusters convention.
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that happened the one time. I'm gonna skip this
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: one here. If you could influence one design or organized
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: platus for Altered, what would it be besides adding five
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: million dollars?
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean I do think obviously more
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: money into it would be helpful. It's hard to say,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: because I don't I don't think adding IP at this
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: point is going to be helpful the same way other
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: games can do. You know, I think the identity of
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: Altered is supremely focused off of its own unique setup,
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: And the unfortunate thing is unique ips just aren't as
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: popular right now, especially with so many things that are
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: as far as different card games out there at the moment.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: The ability of unique ips, though, has longevity only due
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: to monetary values.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, if it hits, it hits, right, But
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: the problem is it is hitting this key.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: For just still around. And I think the reason is
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: still around is because it doesn't have an I. You're
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: not having to pay somebody for the IP behind it, right,
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: So I think Altered can take the same scope as
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: like a key Forge if they could, just I don't
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: know that. The biggest fear I have is that somehow,
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: like I don't know if two point five million every
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: every cycle is sustainable. Maybe it is, and maybe I'm stupid.
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: Cole says it is.
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: Well, the so your your points kind of counteract each
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: other as well. Because key Forge is around because it
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: does nothing and it has no overhead, and we're talking
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: about how to grow altered. Key Forge is just alive,
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: and Altered could be just alive, but I don't I
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: don't think they want to do that.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: No, And honestly, the thing that always comes to mind
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: for me in particular with Altered is is not necessarily
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Altered as a game, because I think the game itself
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: is fun and it's a good game, and a lot
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: of the people that have played it isn't the issue
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: with the game itself. I feel like if you're gonna
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: I don't know if Altered is ever going to be
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: a game that's going to grow to the extent of
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: being as popular as obviously not as the bigger card games,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: but even on the level of a game like a
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: Lorcana or a Flesh and Blood or something to that level.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: So I think one thing that I see a lot
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: of complaints about within the card game community. People don't
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: or at least the stores don't like TCG player, for example,
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: and they use it out of necessity because TCG player
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: is TCG player, and everyone uses TCG player. But in
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: my opinion, if other games and or things like Altered
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: find a way to use internal based marketplaces and they
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: control their own market from that aspect and don't outsource
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: it to a third party like TCG player, and utilize
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: that in some capacity, then that could be something that's
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: potentially a big boon. What I've always said is that
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: if Altered wanted to the developers wanted to use the
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: marketplace system that they built for a different capacity for
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: other games and everything like that that they could sell
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: for money. Great. Do I think that's something that could
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: actually happen. Probably not, But I'm just trying to think
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: of unique ideas or unique things that Altered is doing
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: that the others that is not in the space that
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: can be used outside of Altered, so that Altered can
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: benefit and doesn't have to rely on that two point
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: five million that you were talking about key every single
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: set kind of thing.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: But yeah, I literally earlier today on stream was talking
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: to a guy trying because I was playing Magic Arena
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: and I was like, how do I how do I
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: sell these cards I don't want? Like can I put
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: these on the market or whatever? And he was like, no,
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: you can't. And I realized, like damn, Like the system
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: is is so nice. Like I know, it gets a
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: ton of flack for like, oh they didn't have it
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: on launch and blah blah blah, but man, it is
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: very nice, and when you go to a game that
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: doesn't have it, you you kind of realize just how
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: nice it is.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Yeah, the marketplace itself isn't always great, but the concept,
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: I think is what I'm pushing at more than anything.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: And they've obviously had to put effort into it.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: So yeah, hm, I wonder if lack of a strong
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: and I can't say it's not strong because I don't
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: have numbers to back it up, but lack of an
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: lack of a somewhat weak secondary market is what kind
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: of is hurting altered. I mean it is.
- 1:10:20Speaker 6: Yeah, it is concentrated in its own personal marketplace right
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: outside of just a really random third party ones, so
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: that doesn't help exposure.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think, yeah, that is the issue. I mean,
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: stores can't price them because they don't know what they
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: cost and anything that's a unique. In order to price uniques,
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: you need to play the game pretty much, right, Yeah,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: and that's not a store owner's prerogative kind of thing.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: They like the ability of just seeing what something costs
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: because what it's cost and that's why TCG player. Yeah,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: and that's what TCG player does well, right, they found
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: an area where they can excel. And now people use
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: it out of necessity. But I know people that just
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: don't like using it out of necessity as well, so
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: due to different business practices, not necessarily the actual product.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: But yeah, so I don't know it. I think the
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: idea of having a controlled marketplace can be helpful, is
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: just finding the right way to use it.
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: But yeah, all right, what are some of your goals
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: for Altered Creation in the next next six months?
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Jumping back on the horse a little bit more now
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: that we got organized play announced in everything, I think
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: that'll be helpful. Just keeping up with everything along those lines.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Seeing new players pop up is would be nice. I
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: finally got to the point at the end of this
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: year where I started reinterview people. I try to always
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: get new people, but if they keep winning, it's hard
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: to interview new people. But I think the idea of
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: getting new people joining the game and doing well is
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: always a positive thing for any title. So hopefully that
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: happens and I can talk to more people from that aspect,
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: I guess as far as goals are concerned, And yeah,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: just maintaining the current community at the very least within
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: North America, rather than losing folks to other card games
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: or want to play new card games or go back
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: to old card games that they can't get away from,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: like crack Cocaine.
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: What do you do you know the name t f z.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: T dash FC like as a Discord person an Altered player,
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: it doesn't ring a Bell offhand.
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: Yeah, so I think think when you are casting on Monday,
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: you might see some new names, which has been really
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: cool to you know, witness. She won the singleton event
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: on Thursday with Suebash five and zero, so that was
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: really cool. And I think she's been playing a lot more,
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: is kind of what Quett said. And then I've seen
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: some names like I feel like originality was gone for
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: a little bit and originalities back. So I think this
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: season and then with the organized play support that they
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: just announced, I think we'll see some new and old
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: faces which will be dope.
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: All right, kind of into the last the last Hurrah here?
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: What is your most tilting altered moment.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Tilting watching people play and deciding to man a magical training.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: Okay? And what is one hero you want to love
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: but just can't And why is it an orders hero?
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: Why is it an order?
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: Here? U?
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: I mean I don't think as far as characters or
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: heroes as a whole. I don't play a lot of Moona.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: I think the only Moona deck I've ever made is
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: a Argent deck. But I don't really have a want
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: to like MODA heroes, so that's not there. I wish
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Sierra was better. Sierra's probably like in Trial by Frost
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Days and nilim Meta was probably one of the more
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: fun times that I've had playing Altered So I know
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: someone was mentioning Exhaust before that was a big Exhaust days.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: I wish Sierra was up there. I did notice never mind,
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: I didn't notice anything our cards released for next set.
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: Cool depends on which ones I think by a guide
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: trying's calculation, we have forty three percent of next set revealed.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Okay, so I'm not going to go over specific things,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: but I've noticed things that contribute to the possibility of
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: maybe Sira being okay, so maybe that's cool for Seeds.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: We'll see how that goes. But yeah, yeah, I'm trying
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: to think. I'm not a big Subash player, and I
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: call him Subash. Yeah, I mean, I don't really hate.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: I wish they need to revert war bring warrew back.
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: Just all right, moving on.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: I've been saying this for so long.
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: Thank you so much Blue for the supporters.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: It's sad that Wren left before you got the revert
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: waroo in there.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: Yeah, we're not reverting WARU.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Let's give them one of the abilities back.
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: Let's answers and all, yeah, alrighty Cole, what have we
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: got for the Patreon this week?
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: Robinhood would be crazy.
- 1:16:37Speaker 5: So again again and it's fine.
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: Uh so, I mean before we asked the question that
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: we'll all answer, including Blue. There's also kind of a
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: conversation in the live chat about changing current heroes. I
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: will say, unless it's sigismart, just don't expect any like
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: set one hero to be changed. As unfortunate as it
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: is to say, just give up on them, kill them
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: in a fire, leave them. Sometimes things are meant to die.
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: It makes it more meaningful.
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: So onward and just remember all the good times you
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: had with that hero. Yeah.
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: It's like when I used to play D and D
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: a lot, people were always so so scared to have
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: their character die because then they didn't want to make
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: a new one. And they're like, oh, but I love
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: my little hobgoblin Boburton, And I'm like, well, if he
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: dies in a fucking badass way after doing some cool shit,
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: then you know what, that's fine.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: Never heard of the class Boburton, but I'm interested.
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: Well, that's the person's name is Boburton.
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: That was the name Goblin the name of the Okay,
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: I was like, man, that's a hell of a class.
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: What does that class two?
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: I think I'm ready to leave set one behind. We've
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: talked about it a lot, and I do think I
- 1:18:12Speaker 4: would hope that they only get rid of the top
- 1:18:14Speaker 4: performing hero of each faction. But we'll see what happens.
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: For question, gav Kenny has been breaking all the rules
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: and just put it, been putting a question on YouTube
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: comments every time what product would you like to see
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: be added as an add on to a future game
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: found campaign? And this question I wouldn't call it like controversial,
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: but I would say it's very divisive. You have the
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: one side that loves you know, the plushes, and then
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: you have wood plushies who hates fun and only wants cards.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: So what because I don't like plushies. I hate fun.
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: Yeah, if it's not Worly Ball all, he don't care.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: Worlli Ball Champion twenty twenty six right here, mm hmm. No,
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: I just don't like plushes. I don't understand. I don't.
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: I don't understand. I get why people like well no,
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: actually I don't understand why people like them. I don't
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: just don't enjoy plushies. I'm sorry.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: Yes, side note, Houston Tibbers went fast. Everyone loves tibbers.
- 1:19:24Speaker 5: I don't think you slay the same Wookie. If it
- 1:19:27Speaker 5: was a macpen plushy, if.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: It was what, No, I wouldn't I still wouldn't get it.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: I just I just don't like pluffy. I'm not a plus.
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: I'm not a stuffed animal person. You're more a that's right.
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: I'm looking to have more sex with robots in twenty
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: twenty six. Yep.
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: We we can get into some dangerous waters if we
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: start crossing those two topics together. So this is this
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: is a good question because it goes in line with
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: the game found survey and some of the questions they
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: asked and what you would like to see.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: I am poor, So this.
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: Question is is hard for me to answer in that regard.
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: The one thing I'll say is I'm very concerned. I
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: guess about the figures that they mentioned, and my response,
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: my response would be if it's like hero Forge figures, like,
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: no thanks, I think that's just like a waste of plastic,
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: kind of mass produced trash. But if it were like
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: anime figurines, I think altered could have some very cool ones.
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: And no I'm not talking about like Booby wi Fus,
- 1:20:55Speaker 4: but just like some really cool statues. I think I
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: would be more inclined to get one of.
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: I was thinking more of like uh, like you know,
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: a magic used. I don't know, maybe they still do
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: the statues like you've ever seen, like the the dragon
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: that they have a lot of. Some people have that one,
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: the Shiven dragon.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: Mm hmm. Speaking of Boobie wife, who's though cold? Does
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Alter need more goon?
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: Yes, if you're if if we're if we're talking about success,
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: then yes, and I have good news for people on
- 1:21:34Speaker 4: the next upcoming sets. And that's all I'll say.
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: It's gonna be there's gonna be more tn A. Uh
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: yeah yeah, I mean I'm not saying that's a bad thing. Yeah,
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: something like that would be cool.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: I mean they really had a missed opportunity. But yeah,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: they had a missed opportunity with the Leviathans, you know,
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: but you.
- 1:21:56Speaker 4: Know those would go hard, all right, So look at
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: look get that picture right there, and then I'm going
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: to show you a card. And the people that are
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: fans of the lore of this probably already know. But
- 1:22:12Speaker 4: take that Naruto statue and make it that nice.
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: Bam, that'd be pretty dope.
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: Sky did have a foot fetish aspect, and there will
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: be another subsect of there.
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: There will be more foot fetish in twenty twenty six
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: for Altered.
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: No different kind of Anyways, what does anyone else have
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: any answer for the.
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: Question more foot fetish.
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: I really like the Collector Boosters. I think that they
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: should keep doing that for every set, keep that as
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: an add on.
- 1:22:52Speaker 4: Do you do you feel like they could improve the
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: rarity makeup of.
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: Collector Booster for sure, they could mix it around, make
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: it better.
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I think a lot of I think the main
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: complaint I see about them is people say that, like
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: there's comments in the Collector Boots right now.
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: I do think it is too expensive for what the
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: rarities you have, and it needs to be shifted up
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: a little bit to make it more worthwhile. But I
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: still like the idea.
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: Yeah, well.
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: All right, I would like more exclusive items, not like
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: signed things, right, I think signed things are kind of cool,
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: whether it's by artists or by creators.
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: Well, if you wanted a signed Grand Bois, you should
- 1:23:48Speaker 4: have just asked I would send you.
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: On No, not at all what I was going. I
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: think sign things are cool. It's just it's something that
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: I wish more games would explore, you know, like magic
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: has always had like artists, you know, like Mark Poole
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: and he'll cut you know, you can go and see
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: him at whatever, and he'll sign your stuff. Now, he's
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: a little bit too expensive, but you know, just have
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: artists sign things, or have creators sign things, stuff of
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: that nature. Because I doubt they'll be coming to my
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: local convention anytime soon.
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: But you'd have to actually go to a convention to
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: have that happen with me, because it happens at a
- 1:24:32Speaker 4: lot of conventions.
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: I know, I gotta get out more, right, Yeah, I.
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: A, I have a bunch of signed things.
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: Twenty six is in my year, That's what I've heard,
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: is what I've been told. I'm hoping twenty twenty six
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: is my year. I don't know what I'm going to yet,
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: but I'm I might be going to Philly for Necho.
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: That's not the right convention, but okay, no it's not.
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: But you know, I'm I'm gen cons is always so
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: damn expensive, and I need I haven't ever gone to
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: a PAXU and I really should, and I don't even
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: know what alter it will be in next year, Like
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: as far as conventions.
- 1:25:14Speaker 4: Go, I can honestly say I do not either.
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: So yeah, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: I don't like gen Con. Well, I don't mind gen Con, right,
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: but it's just fuck is gen Con expensive? Just everything
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: for the hotels, right, yeah, it's that's that's your biggest
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: thing is the hotels are just dumb pricey. The ticket
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: price is it's like one seven five I think for
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: all four days, which really, honestly is not that bad
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: for a four day event. Food gets a little crazy,
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: but you can, you know, you can always hit I
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: think there's an in and out or Jack in Box
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: or whatever something you're you know, there's stuff nearby where
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: you can get food cheaper, right, you don't have to
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: eat downtown but taking shake, yeah, something like that. I
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: mean shake, You'll find something somewhere. But man, just the
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: hotels just are stupid.
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: If you if you don't want to go somewhere where
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: everything is too expensive, do not go to packs East.
- 1:26:23Speaker 4: Gen Con and Unplugged are much more affordable than East. Really, yeah,
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: I think, Yeah, the convention food at East was like it,
- 1:26:39Speaker 4: there's just crazy expensive. I could not believe it. I
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: think Blue and I ate on the convention floor like
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: one day and then we were like, Okay, we should
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: never do that again.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: You really liked that grilled cheese though, oh the grill.
- 1:26:51Speaker 4: The grilled cheese was good and it was cheaper than
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: the first thing I got, which was way overpriced, but
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: that was technically of the floor.
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know because gen Con doesn't have floor food, right,
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: you can't like there's not you got to go to
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: like the food trucks outside. Yeah, they're they're not cheap either.
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Getting back to the question, I like your guys'
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: ideas basically, just more stuff to chase. I think for
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: altered for people to want to get other than uniques,
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: find a way to market the game more to more
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: than just competitive players and uniques. I guess is the
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: thing that I want to see more.
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: I feel like super quiet, what you're doing over.
- 1:27:36Speaker 5: There, ex Singing tournament?
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: Okay, what what what would you add?
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: I'm not Curtty sure yet, I'll have this other we
- 1:27:49Speaker 5: talked about just more.
- 1:27:53Speaker 6: Not plussies per se, but some collectibles like figuring as
- 1:27:56Speaker 6: Like you said, work really really nice for collectivity for sure,
- 1:28:01Speaker 6: and mementos.
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: Sleeves are cool, mets are cool. Yeah, I always nice.
- 1:28:12Speaker 4: Yeah. The unfortunate side of like what you were talking
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: about will keep with art and artists is the only
- 1:28:20Speaker 4: item that was under sold and did not sell out
- 1:28:25Speaker 4: was the art prints at Worlds And I think it
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: was maybe mainly a travel like concern, but they yeah,
- 1:28:39Speaker 4: they had serialized prints and they did not really sell.
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: So I don't know if I necessarily want to like
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: a serialized print, but like signatures, right.
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: Well, yeah you buy it more artists is there?
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: Oh okay, they're there. I would say something like more
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: because like normally when that that's because remember when you
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: get self siled, like that's an experience, right like you
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: you meet them, you get to talk to them, talk
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: to them, even if it's for a few minutes, you know,
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: or whatever. It could have just been. It could have
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: been a size is always a travel concern, especially when
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: you're flying overseas, so it could have definitely been that.
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: But I don't know, like it's just one of those
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: things where it's like I don't know, I wish I
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: had more stuff like that is just stuff I want
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: more of that is currently difficult in my current situation,
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: but it is what it is, all right, we made it.
- 1:29:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: I like sleeves. Like sleeves are cool, right, especially if
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: they're done well. Not game Genics sleeves. For the love
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: of fuck. Don't use game Genic sleeves.
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: And they're my favorite sleeves, are they really? Yeah? They're
- 1:29:58Speaker 4: the ones that they had been making for Altered up
- 1:30:02Speaker 4: until they weren't, are by far the best sleeves that you.
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: Can't say I use the ones for Alter.
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: But the Altered game sleeves are actually good. Okay, because
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: every single other Sea has ever made is so bad, I.
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: Should bring you up.
- 1:30:21Speaker 4: Sleeves so you know, you guys keep talking about key
- 1:30:25Speaker 4: Forge and things being bad, you should just know that
- 1:30:27Speaker 4: if you're Forge, it's gonna be bad.
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: Because it's I had a great time this year at Ford.
- 1:30:38Speaker 4: It's a main line like game Genic product, so it's
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: Altered isn't the only one that has the sleeves like that? Like,
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: you can get the same exact sleeve in any way
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: you want.
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: Basically, I'm sure they have made their formula better since
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: they did it, because I mean, game Jenic was released
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: and that was like, they're their first toe dipping into
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: anything like this was for KeyForge because that was the
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: new hotness at the time. But god, they were bad.
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: They were just they were hard. They shuffled for shit.
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: They're probably way better now. I've always been a dragon
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: sleeve person myself. That's just my personal feel. I like
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: dragon sleeves also.
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: French company, What texture do you get though?
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: All right, I'm gonna cringe everyone out for this one.
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: Are you ready?
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: It has to be.
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: I don't use dual mets. I will not touch them.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: I use the original gloss lot.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:31:43Speaker 4: I I have some magic sleeves that are the glossy
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: or whatever, and they like stick together.
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: And those are ultrap those are the ultrapro ones. Those
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: are garbage. Yeah, those away. I will only use the
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: gloss uh dragon shields. And I will only use three colors,
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: four colors. Three colors, three colors. Well, technically for if
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: you include clear.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: What colors do you not like? Cookie?
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: I will only use black, red, or blue Heyl's colors
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: because when I was young, those are the only colors
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: that were available in the day.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: You like you like those colors? Do you like those
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: colors more?
- 1:32:30Speaker 5: No?
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: Those were just the only colors that were available, And
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: when I came back to card games, that was just
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: the ones I buy.
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: I typically other people So like in late in current
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: years and people were using other colors, did that get
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: you upset?
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: I don't care what sleeves your cards are in.
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: You just keep just keep them out of your house,
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: is what you're saying.
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: You can be wrong, That's fine by me. I think that.
- 1:32:58Speaker 4: Jet black sleeves should actually be banned in altered.
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: Jet black gloss it's all I'll use.
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: Just because they blend in to each other too much.
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: Tell them apart in the mana zone. I get your point,
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: but I use black sleeves a lot for.
- 1:33:15Speaker 4: Me, especially if you're going to be on stream your band.
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: Banned, I'm not good enough to be on stream.
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: Well, and altered it just is we pick a table
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: and you go there.
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: It's completely roll.
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: Up until you know top top cut and.
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: Stuff like that. Also not good enough to make top cut, sorry, kiddos.
- 1:33:39Speaker 4: It also easier to have a static table unless someone
- 1:33:42Speaker 4: play hard.
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: Yeah you know anyways, is that too?
- 1:33:50Speaker 5: So?
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: Also, I'm I'm I'm kind of a fan of the
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: using the orbs.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: Now yeah, oh yeah, that's my that's the I want
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: to change my thing of what they need to do.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: They need to allow us to foil mannic convergence.
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: Wol, that'd be cool.
- 1:34:09Speaker 4: I'm pretty surely he has wanted to do that for
- 1:34:11Speaker 4: a while too.
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: That's the only thing we can't foil tokens me a lift.
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: I foiled every single token. In fact, that's the majority
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: of my PUDs or foiling tokens. But I cannot get
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: a manic convergence. And it's dumb either way. So that's
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: I'm changing.
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: That's what I want.
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: Yeah, that'd bell. I'm down for that. But yeah, I'm
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: I'm kind of a fan. After I saw it, I
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: kind of liked it and I could get on board
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: with that using the manic convergence for them in the
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: Mana zone and kind of keeping keeping everything after the
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: else aft of the side. So at first it bothered me, No,
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: I'm and I'm like, you know what, that's it's actually clean.
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: I still don't really like it, and I would never
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: do it myself, but I get it and I understand
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: that some people like it.
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: It's it's super clean, and it does allow you to
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: keep good track of what's what's gone and what's still there.
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: I hear that if I tried it, I would get
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: confused in like swapping out the actual card with the
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: Mannek convergence card and then have the wrong amount of
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: manna and then it'd be a whole mess.
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: Can someone like cut everything that Dexter just said, minus
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: the card stuff and just post it out of context?
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: Doc?
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: What did I say? Now?
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: That's where it's like, I've seen other people do it,
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: and I don't know if I'll like it, but I
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: think I would like it, and.
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: Welcome that'll be you haven't You haven't hung out with
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: Dexter a lot, have you? We kind of just all
- 1:35:48Speaker 3: go aha and then move on. So that's what I
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: feel like.
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: This is getting close to two hours. We just keep
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: going to.
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: Those to two hours. But we're all done. I'm all done.
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: I need to go. How damn girl? What the hell
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: burning me?
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: Yeah? Getting attacked right before.
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: She's like, is this done? And it fucking burned me
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: with the damn thing.
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: So she's gonna end up with her own Netflix documentary.
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: More than listen, I'm gonna say it right here, right now.
- 1:36:27Speaker 3: You all ready for this? If ever, Wookie goes missing,
