- 0:00Dave Hamilton: Business Brain, episode 747 for Casual Friday I, April 24th, Scream Day, 2026.
- 0:10Dave Hamilton: Scream Day. It's pretty good. Yeah.
- 0:13Shannon Jean: Sometimes that helps.
- 0:14Dave Hamilton: A lot of metal singers have made a living on screaming.
- 0:19Shannon Jean: Dude. Yeah.
- 0:20Dave Hamilton: Yeah.
- 0:21Shannon Jean: There was a guy in Nashville that was doing Axl Rose last weekend. Oh my gosh. He's so good.
- 0:27Dave Hamilton: That's great. Yeah.
- 0:30Shannon Jean: I miss Chester from Linkin Park, one of the best screamers.
- 0:34Dave Hamilton: Yeah, for sure. All right.
- 0:37Dave Hamilton: Welcome to Business Brain, folks. The show where we take a few ideas,
- 0:41Dave Hamilton: we crunch them, we dissect them, we use them to sharpen our business brains
- 0:45Dave Hamilton: so we can keep on living that charmed life.
- 0:48Dave Hamilton: Our sponsors include QuickBooks.com slash Workforce, which is where you're going
- 0:53Dave Hamilton: to be able to see Intuit QuickBooks payroll evolve into things that can do even more for your team.
- 0:57Dave Hamilton: And granola.ai slash brain where you can go to try granola totally free for
- 1:03Dave Hamilton: three months uh it's one of my favorite new services and i i love that it just
- 1:07Dave Hamilton: takes notes for me any meeting i'm in doesn't matter what platform we'll talk
- 1:12Dave Hamilton: more about those in a little bit for now here in durham new hampshire dave hamilton.
- 1:17Shannon Jean: Here in Northern California, Shannon Jean, happy Friday, I.
- 1:21Dave Hamilton: Happy Friday, I. I listened to a podcast that interviewed 75 different programmers
- 1:29Dave Hamilton: all over the country about their feelings about AI.
- 1:33Dave Hamilton: Because coders, coding is something the AIs have, especially just in the last
- 1:40Dave Hamilton: few months, gotten really, really good at.
- 1:42Dave Hamilton: Which doesn't surprise me because the people writing all these AI engines are
- 1:48Dave Hamilton: programming them and they want to use the AI to do their job so that they can do it faster.
- 1:54Dave Hamilton: So it's no great surprise that this is a thing that is getting the initial treatment.
- 2:01Dave Hamilton: And it was an interesting thing. By and large, most programmers were totally
- 2:05Dave Hamilton: on board with it because they were like, this is great.
- 2:08Dave Hamilton: It makes my job more fun. I still need to think like an engineer,
- 2:12Dave Hamilton: but I don't have to do the grunt work of coding.
- 2:14Dave Hamilton: And a lot of them were like, what I love is instead of coding it up one way
- 2:19Dave Hamilton: and then realizing, oh, there would have been a better way, but I'm not going to go backwards now.
- 2:24Dave Hamilton: They can instead say, all right, hey, agent, go spawn 10 of you.
- 2:29Dave Hamilton: Each of you coded up, you know, a different way. And then let me decide what
- 2:34Dave Hamilton: the best implementation is.
- 2:36Dave Hamilton: Right. So it makes their jobs a whole lot more interesting and fun.
- 2:38Dave Hamilton: And I can absolutely attest to this.
- 2:41Dave Hamilton: However, there were some that even if they weren't against it,
- 2:46Dave Hamilton: were acknowledging the fact that they're like, I am becoming de-skilled as a
- 2:51Dave Hamilton: programmer by nature of the AI writing all my code for me.
- 2:57Dave Hamilton: Right. Makes sense. There were some people that were especially like junior
- 3:00Dave Hamilton: programmers, people that were relatively new to the field. I don't mean to say
- 3:04Dave Hamilton: that they're not skilled.
- 3:05Dave Hamilton: They definitely are better, more skilled than me, without question.
- 3:08Dave Hamilton: But, you know, people that are relatively new to this only have a year or two,
- 3:13Dave Hamilton: you know, under their belt or whatever, saying, yeah, I can already see my skills
- 3:18Dave Hamilton: like I'm losing my edge because I'm not actually doing the programming.
- 3:22Dave Hamilton: Sure. If I were to have to do programming, I might not be as quick as I once was.
- 3:29Dave Hamilton: And I was listening to this and chuckling because I was like, ah, here's the thing.
- 3:36Dave Hamilton: I have some experience with this de-skilling as a programmer because this has
- 3:41Dave Hamilton: happened to me over the last 20 years. I used to code all the time.
- 3:47Dave Hamilton: Like it was when we started like deals on the web, you know,
- 3:50Dave Hamilton: I wrote that whole system from scratch. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:53Dave Hamilton: The database, everything. Yeah, there were no frameworks.
- 3:56Dave Hamilton: I literally wrote it from like blank page, right? And I did the same for Mac
- 4:00Dave Hamilton: Observer and I did all kinds of other things.
- 4:02Dave Hamilton: It was how you started a business. It's like back then it was like,
- 4:05Dave Hamilton: well, you need somebody that can like whip up the back end. It's, it's not like it is now.
- 4:11Dave Hamilton: Um, although there's still, you know, reasons to, to create your own back ends
- 4:16Dave Hamilton: and do those things. But, um, I just haven't, I got out of that.
- 4:20Dave Hamilton: I started hiring other people to do it or whatever.
- 4:23Dave Hamilton: And so I, I have become de-skilled as a programmer, not by AI,
- 4:28Dave Hamilton: but not because of AI, but because of me, I've just gotten out of it.
- 4:33Shannon Jean: Because of opportunity.
- 4:34Dave Hamilton: Because of opportunity. The way I look at it. Yes.
- 4:36Shannon Jean: Because you can't, right?
- 4:37Dave Hamilton: This isn't a bad thing. I'm just acknowledging it. But-
- 4:41Dave Hamilton: What's what exists today, where you have these AI agents that if you under and
- 4:47Dave Hamilton: I and it's still it's not to the point, I don't think, where if you don't have
- 4:53Dave Hamilton: programming acumen, engineering acumen,
- 4:56Dave Hamilton: I don't think you can really be as effective with these tools as someone with
- 5:01Dave Hamilton: that, you know, experience can be. And that will change.
- 5:05Dave Hamilton: I don't by any stretch mean to say that this is a static thing.
- 5:09Dave Hamilton: But right now, understanding how it all works is still valuable.
- 5:14Dave Hamilton: And I do understand how it all works.
- 5:17Dave Hamilton: And I feel like I am moving much faster than most people who would call themselves
- 5:23Dave Hamilton: programmers are moving because I have no hangups about becoming de-skilled by this thing.
- 5:30Dave Hamilton: I've already de-skilled myself to whatever degree that is. And it's really not
- 5:35Dave Hamilton: as much as people think. Like, could I still sit down and write code from scratch?
- 5:38Dave Hamilton: Yes. Do I want to or am I going to?
- 5:41Dave Hamilton: No freaking way. But it's not going to happen. There's no need.
- 5:44Dave Hamilton: And that's the thing. is like I had no hesitation getting into this because
- 5:48Dave Hamilton: it wasn't taking my job away.
- 5:50Dave Hamilton: It was giving me the opportunity to do this thing and iterate so much faster than I could if I hired.
- 5:59Dave Hamilton: I mean, it doesn't matter how many people I hired. I would have to like manage people.
- 6:03Dave Hamilton: And it's like, no, no, I want to just think and tell the agent and then have it go do it.
- 6:08Dave Hamilton: And not have it get mad at me when I tell it to, you know, revise it 10 different times.
- 6:14Dave Hamilton: Yeah, exactly. So I think this de-skilling, yes, it will happen.
- 6:19Dave Hamilton: You won't. I equate it to kind of if I take two weeks off from playing the drums,
- 6:24Dave Hamilton: and then I sit down and go play a gig.
- 6:28Dave Hamilton: No one in the audience will be able to tell that I haven't played the drums in two weeks.
- 6:33Dave Hamilton: In fact, I would argue that nobody in the room will be able to tell other than
- 6:37Dave Hamilton: one person. And that's me.
- 6:39Dave Hamilton: I know that like my hands, like these finer motor control things,
- 6:44Dave Hamilton: just, you know, my fingers literally lose the ability to do it as well as they
- 6:49Dave Hamilton: could if I was playing every day.
- 6:51Dave Hamilton: And it's the same kind of thing with the programming. It's like,
- 6:53Dave Hamilton: yeah, yeah, you become a little less sharp.
- 6:56Dave Hamilton: But the reality is if you had to get back into – if all the AIs got turned off
- 7:01Dave Hamilton: or you were whatever, you'd be like, okay, give it a day or two.
- 7:05Dave Hamilton: You're back up to speed. You're going to be fine. Sure.
- 7:07Shannon Jean: Yeah, and I think that the way you're talking about embracing that change is if you think about –
- 7:14Shannon Jean: There's two ways to look at it. One is, oh, wow, I'm going to be made obsolete.
- 7:19Shannon Jean: Or, oh, wow, I'm going to be able to do all this other stuff now that I didn't have time for.
- 7:27Shannon Jean: Or you didn't have the opportunity to move into some other area because you're grinding out the code.
- 7:34Shannon Jean: And those folks that embrace the latter, I think are going to do really well.
- 7:38Shannon Jean: Because if you try to, in my layman's opinion, because I don't know anything
- 7:43Shannon Jean: about programming, everything i try to build vibe code and everything gets me about 83 percent
- 7:50Dave Hamilton: There exactly and then.
- 7:52Shannon Jean: I'm like wait that doesn't work or how do i uh they're like oh you just throw
- 7:56Shannon Jean: it up on github and do this that and the other i was like what i don't know anything
- 8:00Dave Hamilton: About that and that's it right that's the stuff i understand
- 8:03Dave Hamilton: just fine right and i can look at the logic
- 8:06Dave Hamilton: of the thing and it tells me here's how
- 8:09Dave Hamilton: I'm going to go about this and I'll be like well that's
- 8:14Dave Hamilton: that's great but either you misunderstood me or you're skipping something so
- 8:18Dave Hamilton: let me fix that for you and of course like any other thing you do with AI when
- 8:24Dave Hamilton: you do that it comes back and it's like oh of course you're right I completely
- 8:28Dave Hamilton: overlooked that right but but that's the thing,
- 8:31Dave Hamilton: And I tell people this with troubleshooting, too.
- 8:35Dave Hamilton: AI is great for troubleshooting your dishwasher, your whatever, your computer.
- 8:41Dave Hamilton: If you have a working knowledge of the subject matter, if you don't, it can lead you astray.
- 8:48Dave Hamilton: And the thing is, you don't know that you've been led astray because how could you?
- 8:53Dave Hamilton: And that's pretty good. We still are right now. And that's true with the vibe
- 8:57Dave Hamilton: coding and, you know, or agentic assisted coding, whatever you want to call
- 9:00Dave Hamilton: it. You know, that's true with that, too.
- 9:03Dave Hamilton: It's having a working knowledge of it is still necessary for all but the most
- 9:08Dave Hamilton: basic stuff, you know. Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:10Shannon Jean: Especially implementing it in your business.
- 9:13Dave Hamilton: Oh, yeah.
- 9:14Shannon Jean: You know, it's that like Gilman amnesia that we've talked, that term that I introduced you to.
- 9:20Shannon Jean: You know when it's wrong because you know that business, right?
- 9:24Shannon Jean: Yeah. But then when you ask it something outside your business,
- 9:27Shannon Jean: you just, oh, it's AI. It's going to be right. or whatever because you don't know that.
- 9:32Shannon Jean: So those two things, you have to reconcile them like, you know what,
- 9:36Shannon Jean: it's not right all the time.
- 9:38Shannon Jean: And how do you make sure? And you've got to do your own due diligence and research
- 9:42Shannon Jean: and try to help and make sure it's doing the right thing.
- 9:45Dave Hamilton: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:47Shannon Jean: That's cool. I like that term de-skilled.
- 9:50Dave Hamilton: Oh, same.
- 9:51Shannon Jean: It's almost like maybe.
- 9:52Dave Hamilton: It's re-skilled though. Like it just opens you up to do something different.
- 9:55Dave Hamilton: It's re-skilled. That's right. I have always, maybe not always,
- 9:59Dave Hamilton: but certainly currently and at
- 10:01Dave Hamilton: most points in my life, have been eager to learn. I am a ravenous learner.
- 10:07Dave Hamilton: Me too. I am not a traditional learner. I learn by doing and by making mistakes
- 10:14Dave Hamilton: and crashing into things.
- 10:16Dave Hamilton: But I do learn, and I love learning. I often find myself saying...
- 10:21Dave Hamilton: I don't need to have been right. I want to be able to be right in the future.
- 10:28Dave Hamilton: And so if I make a mistake, that's fine. I wasn't right then.
- 10:31Dave Hamilton: Will I be right the next time I do this? Yes. Great. Moving on. Like, check the box.
- 10:36Dave Hamilton: And so I love these things open up the opportunity for me to learn new stuff, which is great. Yeah.
- 10:44Shannon Jean: The challenge is most people...
- 10:48Shannon Jean: Don't like change and change is the only constant in our life.
- 10:52Dave Hamilton: So I don't like change either. Yeah. I mean, I've, I love change.
- 10:57Dave Hamilton: Let me, let me make this clear.
- 10:59Dave Hamilton: I don't like change though. Like I am a human being. I am naturally averse to change.
- 11:05Dave Hamilton: So I definitely have change resistance like everybody else.
- 11:09Dave Hamilton: Yeah. I've just learned that I love change.
- 11:13Dave Hamilton: Doesn't mean that I like it though. Yeah.
- 11:16Shannon Jean: Yeah. That's good. Yeah. It's the next great thing. That's cool.
- 11:18Dave Hamilton: That's good.
- 11:19Shannon Jean: I love it.
- 11:20Dave Hamilton: All right. We have more AI stuff to talk about, and we have our sponsors to talk about.
- 11:26Dave Hamilton: And, you know, part of the charmed
- 11:28Dave Hamilton: life as entrepreneurs is being in every meeting that matters, right?
- 11:32Dave Hamilton: But staying fully present while also capturing every decision and action item,
- 11:38Dave Hamilton: that's a battle that I used to lose daily.
- 11:42Dave Hamilton: And that's why I use Granola, our sponsor, and I love it. Granola is an AI-powered
- 11:49Dave Hamilton: notepad built for the way real people actually meet.
- 11:52Dave Hamilton: You take rough notes like you normally would, and in the background,
- 11:57Dave Hamilton: Granola transcribes the meeting and turns everything into clean,
- 12:01Dave Hamilton: structured, actually useful notes the moment the meeting ends.
- 12:06Dave Hamilton: It works through your device's audio, and this is what's cool, right?
- 12:09Dave Hamilton: So it integrates seamlessly into whatever video tool you're already using.
- 12:14Dave Hamilton: No setup, no hassle, doesn't matter who started the call or what platform they
- 12:19Dave Hamilton: chose, granola just works for me and it can work for you, right?
- 12:23Dave Hamilton: I would tattoo the granola logo on my forearm if my dermatologist would stop screening my calls.
- 12:30Dave Hamilton: If meetings are eating up your day, Granola is a no-brainer, folks.
- 12:34Dave Hamilton: You can try it totally free for three months. Just head to granola.ai slash brain.
- 12:41Dave Hamilton: That's granola.ai slash brain to get your time back.
- 12:45Dave Hamilton: Get three months free at granola.ai slash brain.
- 12:49Dave Hamilton: Go check it out. I love it. I think you're going to love it.
- 12:52Dave Hamilton: And our thanks to Granola for sponsoring this episode.
- 12:56Dave Hamilton: And leading that charmed life as an entrepreneur means your time belongs to
- 13:01Dave Hamilton: building the business and your team, not drowning in spreadsheets and payroll runs.
- 13:06Dave Hamilton: And really, that's why we switched to Intuit QuickBooks Payroll,
- 13:10Dave Hamilton: the number one payroll software for small businesses.
- 13:13Dave Hamilton: It's this all-in-one command center integrating payroll, team management,
- 13:18Dave Hamilton: and accounting in one platform, giving you time and control over your numbers
- 13:24Dave Hamilton: so you can focus on what actually matters.
- 13:27Dave Hamilton: And this summer, QuickBooks Payroll is evolving into a total human capital management
- 13:32Dave Hamilton: platform with tools coming to help you hire, onboard, manage,
- 13:37Dave Hamilton: and retain your team, all connected right to your books.
- 13:40Dave Hamilton: I send QuickBooks Payroll handwritten thank you cards like it's 1987, folks.
- 13:45Dave Hamilton: Make the switch like we did to QuickBooks Payroll and lead your business the right way.
- 13:52Dave Hamilton: And you don't want to miss the new amazing tools coming soon. I'm stoked about this.
- 13:58Dave Hamilton: Learn more by going to quickbooks.com slash workforce.
- 14:01Dave Hamilton: That's quickbooks.com slash workforce.
- 14:05Dave Hamilton: Go check it out. We're loving it here. I think you're going to love it over
- 14:08Dave Hamilton: there. And our thanks to QuickBooks Payroll for sponsoring this episode.
- 14:13Dave Hamilton: All right, Shannon. Hey, did you see that Claude Design came out this week, man?
- 14:18Shannon Jean: I did see that, and I wanted to chat about it. I don't know a lot about it,
- 14:22Shannon Jean: but I am going to know more about it as I start to use it.
- 14:26Shannon Jean: So basically, you can collaborate with other people as you build designs.
- 14:31Shannon Jean: You can import your design language or your current website,
- 14:36Shannon Jean: all your color, your color palette, everything your brand uses,
- 14:40Shannon Jean: marketing material, whatever.
- 14:41Shannon Jean: And then Claude will help you modify, design new things.
- 14:48Shannon Jean: It's connected, I guess, deeply with Canva. There's connectors in there that,
- 14:53Shannon Jean: so if you design some things and you want to tweak a little more or subtly,
- 14:58Shannon Jean: you can bring them over into Canva, which is great.
- 15:01Shannon Jean: Prototypes, they talk about, you can turn up mock, and you don't have to import your stuff.
- 15:06Shannon Jean: You can do it all just with text prompts if you want. Say, hey,
- 15:09Shannon Jean: I want to build this website. I need to do this.
- 15:11Dave Hamilton: You can integrate and also have it build like PowerPoints and all that stuff, right?
- 15:19Shannon Jean: Yeah, yeah. Pitch decks are talking about marketing material, everything.
- 15:24Shannon Jean: So I think it's pretty cool. And what I like about it is that it keeps your
- 15:28Shannon Jean: brand language, if you will, so you can build out stuff.
- 15:32Shannon Jean: And supposedly, you're supposed to be able to refine it with really narrow controls so you can tweak...
- 15:41Shannon Jean: Spacing, color, layout. And that's what always gets me when I'm trying to make this stuff.
- 15:46Shannon Jean: And I'm like, well, I just want to nudge that over this many pixels or change the way this works.
- 15:52Shannon Jean: And apparently this solves for that problem. So it'll be interesting.
- 15:56Shannon Jean: And then once you create the design, you could export it to like Canva or as
- 16:00Shannon Jean: a PDF or standalone HTML files, kind of like we did with the entrepreneurial appetite.
- 16:07Dave Hamilton: Yeah, make sure to check that out. Businessbrain.show slash quiz.
- 16:10Shannon Jean: Yeah, go take it. and then send us a screenshot.
- 16:12Dave Hamilton: This is interesting. I have no doubt. I'm going to play with it too.
- 16:16Dave Hamilton: I have no doubt that it will work well, but I will say, I fed last week,
- 16:23Dave Hamilton: I wanted to create an image for our Mac Geek Gab podcast, right?
- 16:28Dave Hamilton: And I've been using Claude to help
- 16:30Dave Hamilton: me write the show notes and the meta description and come up with titles.
- 16:36Dave Hamilton: And I do that by feeding it all the chapter stuff.
- 16:39Dave Hamilton: Sometimes I'll feed it the transcript, But I usually don't even have to do that
- 16:41Dave Hamilton: because we have pretty well fleshed out chapters and stuff in the in the agenda.
- 16:48Dave Hamilton: So that's usually enough for it to build all that stuff.
- 16:51Dave Hamilton: And it had and it was like good shape. And I thought, you know what?
- 16:56Dave Hamilton: Instead of going to Nano Banana, Google's image generation engine,
- 17:00Dave Hamilton: I'll just let Claude build me an image.
- 17:02Dave Hamilton: So I said to Claude, all right, build me this.
- 17:05Dave Hamilton: I have a little prompt that I use, and it's like, build me a wide aspect ratio image.
- 17:10Dave Hamilton: Don't put any words in it. Make it look like my podcast, yada, yada.
- 17:13Dave Hamilton: And so I sent Claude off to the races.
- 17:16Dave Hamilton: And it takes a little bit, so I went and did something else.
- 17:19Dave Hamilton: And I came back, and I thought, it's still going.
- 17:21Dave Hamilton: Wow, okay. And then I, because it was, all that was there was like a wireframe
- 17:25Dave Hamilton: and some stick figures with like typewriter text on it. I've seen this, dude.
- 17:29Shannon Jean: Yeah. I've seen this, I've experienced this.
- 17:32Dave Hamilton: Wait a minute, it thinks it's finished? Oh no, sweetie.
- 17:37Dave Hamilton: And I took that literally the same prompt and pasted it into Nano Banana.
- 17:40Dave Hamilton: And it built me a fully fleshed out image that was like MacGeekEB1137,
- 17:44Dave Hamilton: you can go see it. And it was just comically terrible at building images that
- 17:50Dave Hamilton: I'm eager to see what it does with this.
- 17:54Dave Hamilton: But again, I have no doubt that this will work. Yeah.
- 17:58Shannon Jean: Yeah. And I think this is a little different. More it's layout and this kind of thing.
- 18:03Shannon Jean: I think the – what's that company? Figma that Dolby almost bought.
- 18:08Shannon Jean: Their stock like went in the toilet after this came out.
- 18:11Shannon Jean: I think it's a lot of layout and different things. But I had that experience.
- 18:14Shannon Jean: I actually asked Claude to create a line drawing type image.
- 18:19Dave Hamilton: Yeah.
- 18:20Shannon Jean: And I came back, and it was literally stick figures. I said,
- 18:23Shannon Jean: wait a minute. That's not what I wanted.
- 18:25Shannon Jean: But, yeah, they all have their pluses and minuses. That's for sure. Yeah.
- 18:30Dave Hamilton: I had an experience with Claude, though. I...
- 18:36Dave Hamilton: We talked in the last episode that sales is something I hire somebody else to do.
- 18:41Shannon Jean: Oh, yeah.
- 18:42Dave Hamilton: Right. And I've made a career of this, so all good, except occasionally I wind
- 18:48Dave Hamilton: up the point person on a particular sale.
- 18:51Dave Hamilton: And I was, last week, I actually had two sales that I was working on.
- 18:55Dave Hamilton: Okay. And it was like, okay.
- 18:57Dave Hamilton: And somebody had emailed me on Wednesday, like, okay, great. Here's what I want.
- 19:02Dave Hamilton: Yada, yada, yada. I, you know, all these ads and all these podcasts,
- 19:05Dave Hamilton: $38,000 order, which is a size of, you know, it's a decent amount of money.
- 19:10Dave Hamilton: And all day Thursday, I successfully ignored it, convincing myself that I had
- 19:14Dave Hamilton: other more important things to do.
- 19:16Dave Hamilton: And finally on Friday, I'm like, I got to give this person their proposal.
- 19:20Dave Hamilton: Like basically all I need to do is like take everything that they gave me and
- 19:25Dave Hamilton: repackage it into the thing, assign the right shows, do all the things.
- 19:30Dave Hamilton: But it's going to be a lot of shows. It was 92 different spots on different
- 19:33Dave Hamilton: podcasts. It was a lot of grunt work.
- 19:35Dave Hamilton: And I'm like, I just need to send this to them, and they'll sign it,
- 19:38Dave Hamilton: and then we'll get $38,000. Like, that's pretty good. You know, okay, fine.
- 19:42Dave Hamilton: I don't want to do it. And I was like, you know what? Claude Cowork.
- 19:45Shannon Jean: That never happens to me, Dave.
- 19:50Dave Hamilton: So I pointed Claude Cowork at my folder for that particular sponsor.
- 19:55Dave Hamilton: Okay. And I said, all right.
- 19:58Dave Hamilton: Here's the folder that has the ways we've like the different ways we've communicated
- 20:03Dave Hamilton: with them, basically spreadsheets, you know,
- 20:06Dave Hamilton: make a new spreadsheet proposal, but based on the new stuff and the new stuff
- 20:11Dave Hamilton: is in this email thread that copy paste.
- 20:14Dave Hamilton: Here it is. That's the, that's it. I don't like, I just want you to go and do
- 20:20Dave Hamilton: this. You have all the information.
- 20:22Dave Hamilton: It's just grunt work, man.
- 20:24Dave Hamilton: And, and I said, but you need to, Like this company has three different brands
- 20:28Dave Hamilton: internally and you need to assign shows to the different brands.
- 20:31Dave Hamilton: And like, that's kind of up to
- 20:33Dave Hamilton: us. And I don't like it's, it's arbitrary almost, but not quite, you know?
- 20:38Dave Hamilton: And I'm like, so do your best. And it was like, got you, you know?
- 20:42Dave Hamilton: And then, I don't know, 15, 20 minutes later, whatever it was,
- 20:45Dave Hamilton: it was like, okay, ding, ding, you know, I'm done.
- 20:48Dave Hamilton: And I go and I look and it gives me, it's like, here's the spreadsheet.
- 20:52Dave Hamilton: I saved it in your folder because that's what Claude Cowork does, you know?
- 20:56Dave Hamilton: And it's like, here's what I did. And here's, for this brand,
- 21:00Dave Hamilton: I put these shows on because X, Y, and Z. And for this brand,
- 21:04Dave Hamilton: I put these shows for X, Y, and Z.
- 21:06Dave Hamilton: And I'm like, oh my God, there's my email to the person, right?
- 21:08Dave Hamilton: And so I like copy that and put that in.
- 21:11Dave Hamilton: For this brand, I put, I'm like, yeah, okay.
- 21:14Dave Hamilton: I look at the spreadsheet and it's like, this is perfect. actually it
- 21:17Dave Hamilton: had screwed up one thing i had in
- 21:20Dave Hamilton: the email trail i had given the client um
- 21:23Dave Hamilton: like available open inventory on
- 21:26Dave Hamilton: the shows but by the time they had gotten back
- 21:29Dave Hamilton: to me some of that inventory was in the past
- 21:32Dave Hamilton: now and we could not sell ads on it like it
- 21:35Dave Hamilton: had expired or whatever and claude didn't
- 21:38Dave Hamilton: care about that it put that on there and i was like oh you got to go back and
- 21:41Dave Hamilton: fix this here's today's date here's the
- 21:44Dave Hamilton: first date that like if they sign it in time like
- 21:47Dave Hamilton: let's give ourselves a buffer here you know all those things and it was like
- 21:50Dave Hamilton: oh sure no problem you want me to update the existing spreadsheet i said yeah
- 21:53Dave Hamilton: go ahead oh yeah and it did it did it and it was like okay great and and sure
- 21:58Dave Hamilton: enough like we're moving forward at 38k thanks i love it i was like wait do
- 22:02Dave Hamilton: i need to give claude co-work a freaking sales commission on this like it it's.
- 22:06Shannon Jean: It is it is truly incredible what you're able to do with it. It's amazing.
- 22:12Shannon Jean: And it's, I rarely use ChatGPT anymore, and I'm always, you know,
- 22:19Shannon Jean: a quick question now and then, but I'm going to shut down my team account because
- 22:23Shannon Jean: we moved over, everybody over to Claude. Yeah.
- 22:25Dave Hamilton: I canceled my ChatGPT account or my paid account. Like, I still have access to it, obviously.
- 22:31Dave Hamilton: Sure, sure. I still have perplexity for obvious reasons because we got it for
- 22:35Dave Hamilton: free for the thing until whatever September...
- 22:38Dave Hamilton: And I do still pay Google 20 bucks a month to have access to Nano Banana Pro.
- 22:44Dave Hamilton: Well, because I generate a lot of images for the podcast with it,
- 22:47Dave Hamilton: and it's just so far beyond anything else to do.
- 22:51Shannon Jean: Just think of the alternative if you were having to pay somebody to create those images every time.
- 22:55Dave Hamilton: You know, yes, but it's not even, like with the images, it's not even paying,
- 23:00Dave Hamilton: because I could get better images if I had a human do it.
- 23:03Dave Hamilton: But the problem is I'm sitting here, I finished recording, and for the workflow
- 23:10Dave Hamilton: that I have, I need an image in about three minutes.
- 23:15Dave Hamilton: Yeah, exactly. And I don't have someone that just waits at my beck and call.
- 23:20Shannon Jean: It would take you a day or more to get it done.
- 23:23Dave Hamilton: And then if I got to iterate and go back and forth. It's like a week.
- 23:27Dave Hamilton: Yeah, no, no. No, no. It just doesn't work for me. I would get better artwork.
- 23:32Dave Hamilton: Sure. Definitely. You know, I would get better artwork if I spent more time
- 23:36Dave Hamilton: with the AI, but I don't have that time.
- 23:39Shannon Jean: Yeah, good enough.
- 23:40Dave Hamilton: Good enough, man. Yeah, exactly.
- 23:41Shannon Jean: We're going to ship it.
- 23:42Dave Hamilton: Ship it. That's awesome. Yeah, let's go. Yeah.
- 23:45Shannon Jean: If you have experience, if you've played around with design with Claude, let us know.
